Here we go. Presented by Draft Kings Fantasy Sports. Check out what Draft Kings has to offer with the code Bobby Sports. Which, by the way, I got a bunch of box. that I have not opened yet. I see that. It's like those egg videos for the kids.
Starting point is 00:02:23 Uh-huh. The wow eggs. Yeah, the surprise. Surprise eggs. Those are cool. So we're going to open some packages in a minute. Our version of surprise eggs, but it should be sports memorabilia,
Starting point is 00:02:33 and I have, like, one so much, I don't even know what is in the boxes. We'll all find out together. I don't even know what you guys are talking about with these eggs. Because you don't have kids, and neither do I, but I've shown you the videos
Starting point is 00:02:43 because I have... And I definitely don't watch them when I'm alone going, I wonder what's in that one, a tractor? And we were on the road once And I brought home an egg for my kid And he freaked out
Starting point is 00:02:52 It was so cool to him Draft Kings check it out The Code's Bobby Sports Life's more fun when you're in on the action Draft King is your Gambling Problem called 1,800 gambler Age and eligibility restrictions apply Void or prohibited
Starting point is 00:03:02 See draft kings.com for details I did before we started Because we have a bunch of balls We're going to sign these basketballs That we're going to give out For our too much access show For people that comment in the section So I have all these basketballs
Starting point is 00:03:15 But this I was going to show you guys This is my big get. It's a Larry Bird sign basketball. What? Whoa. Is that real? Sit down, Kevin. It's real.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Yeah, it's real. And so this is my big get so far. It was my big get. Hold that with two hands, do what are you doing? Well, I'm holding it with one hand right now. Because if you drop it and it lands on the autograph, it could damage it. That's true, but I'll say he shot with it. Okay, I can do that.
Starting point is 00:03:38 So when we open a lot of this sports memorabilia that I've won, I mean, I paid for a shot to win it, then you win it. And then sometimes you pay and you don't win it. crap so in the end who knows but this is a larry bird signed basketball which i think pretty freaking cool that is amazing that's my big getter it was it was it was until it was i'm gonna hold i'm gonna hold it was my gosh you got something bigger because that's awesome a larry bird signed basketball it's amazing yes we'll get to that in a second first so lucky let's no i'm not i did pay money lucky let's do the tittle tittle title after opting out of the NCAA football game. Do you think Arch Manning not being the starter is the main reason?
Starting point is 00:04:27 That's a great question. I did see that, you know, there were, I'm going to make up a number, 60,000 people that said yes and 10,000 people that said, now I'm going to opt out. And if you got in the game, they gave you like 600 bucks and a copy of the game. And I did say, I did see where Manning said, Arch Manning said, I want to focus on football and not worry, but you don't have to play. You don't have to play as the character. You sign a paper. You're done. Yeah, yeah. Does he think he has to. to beat the character?
Starting point is 00:04:54 Like he has to like live. Oh crap. John's online. He pushed art. I got to get up. Question though. Legit question though. Do you have to like show up and have all those things all over and act like you're
Starting point is 00:05:02 the one throwing the ball? No. Okay. They will take a few people and they'll even have people mimic. Yeah. What certain people's throw looks like. They'll have universal like running quarterback. Run and shoot quarterback.
Starting point is 00:05:17 So basketball does it too where they have people impersonate Yonis. Yeah, yeah. With the balls. Because in 2K, you can pick like, Yonah's dunk. Yes, and that's not Yon is going up to do all the dunks. I thought it was. They can also grab footage, though, and mimic it a bit with AI as well.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Like, see footage of him. Yeah. So to your point, Arch isn't going to do anything. Right. He doesn't have to do anything. I get that the Manning brand is big. I don't even think it's so much about that. If I'm just guessing, I would say that it's a bit,
Starting point is 00:05:48 if you play with Arch over yours, and that becomes a video game. game thing that people are screaming about. Arch is actually better than you. It just complicates and muddies that. Because that's already going to be weird. He's going to be a sophomore. You were stayed another year. Two years, Manning will be at Texas and hasn't started.
Starting point is 00:06:05 So I would think it's a bit about that. Because all the Manning dudes, they were in the game. Now, that's NFLPA and they didn't have to negotiate separately with Madden. But they know you don't have to play. Like Eli and Payton, any Manning that's ever been in a video game, no, you don't have to actually play the game. Like yourself. They have to put pads on and run around while somebody's playing their franchise. So there's no reason for him to not be able to focus on football. Need to find out of the third string. Is he going to be in it? Because then what if you play
Starting point is 00:06:36 him over? But they won't. I think they may make Arch like a better quarterback. People would want to use them. I think it would just create a little in-house controversy that they probably wanted to avoid. You can make anybody better. You get them as a 64 and someone's an 81. You build that 64 up. We only get four years with him. Yeah, didn't one of our buddies have an Eddie Garcia in there? No, he just changed his name. Oh, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:06:58 It was like a kicker. It was like Eddie Garcia from Sanfee's State. No, dude, I was like Super Champ. You can go through and change whatever you want. But if you're changing stuff, that's different. Okay. Because you can go into manipulate anything. Dang.
Starting point is 00:07:07 Anything? Yeah, you can make them seven foot tall. Okay. Have we seen Arch, though? Is he good? Like, he played a little bit last year, but what have we seen? Nothing. Not enough.
Starting point is 00:07:17 I do remember at NTA. You go back to high school and you make this guy like 6-2-2-40. he's a running back with a visor and all that. Same thing, right? Ish, like in NBA 2K, you can get a dude and you play with him in high school, get recruited, pick the school you're going to go to. But we don't really know what Madden,
Starting point is 00:07:33 or excuse me, what college football is going to do. Yeah, NCAA. I'm super excited about it. Like, I plan on playing Madden hardcore until July and when it comes out, and then take an Arkansas. It'll have me 10 years to build him back to good. So I don't have any consoles.
Starting point is 00:07:45 If you guys get the game, I got to come over and play it. I love that game. Then you should just get the console. Don't come to my house. Just for one game. I literally play two games. I play Madden. Basically, it's all I play. And we have an NBA 2K league that I play that a little bit. But that's it. I had my console for what? Four years, I've played Call of Duty. I played that for six months, never played it again, and all I play is that 2K. That's it. That's it. That's worth it. It's worth. That's it. That's worth. Okay. All right. Next up. With a lot of speculation of cousins going to Atlanta, where would you rank the Falcons in their? Just randomly get in room. We only play with each other.
Starting point is 00:08:13 Oh, that sounds weird. Nope, I said what I said. That's weird, right. All right, next up. All right, with a lot of speculation of cousins going to Atlanta, where would you rank the Falcons in their division if they get them? Number one, I think they're the favorite of cousins goes, especially he looks great.
Starting point is 00:08:26 When you're watching him throwing the tennis court when he's running around, throwing those balls on the hard court, he looks good. What do I know about his injury? But he's expected to be ready to go when the season season starts. They may hold him out a bit of preseason, but they hold everybody out of preseason now. I do think that they're the face. favorite with the bucks second you know baker's coming back mike evans signed a new two year baker
Starting point is 00:08:50 guy though that's what your deal for now i'm big baker guy it's a big baker show but you're asking me now what vagus is going to do okay but me i'm probably going baker yeah yeah i'm big baker one cousin's too yeah however i think they'll be the favorite i think the falcons because the falcons their offense is going to be insane if they get a quarterback i mean maybe one day pits is actually good because somebody can get on the ball yeah and everybody that drafts them every single single year in fantasy and like this is the year Pitts does great maybe they won't want to yeah those like dynasty leagues finally four years later it paid off man the big rumor was that he was considering moving his family from Minnesota to Atlanta that they were looking at houses that doesn't happen
Starting point is 00:09:30 a lot in the NFL where that rumor comes out happens a lot with college coaches nick sayban was down the road looking at a house that happens in like seven college cities at once every year I do think and it was from pro football talk I do think this is there's probably some validity to this. Yeah. But Kirk Cousins is good. He's a solid B plus quarterback. How old is he?
Starting point is 00:09:50 558. It feels like he's 58 years old. But also the commanders are talking about maybe getting cousins back as well. They need a QB. It's just going to cost a lot more than that. Yeah. They also have an early draft pick too. So if they don't take, you know, Drake May or Jane Daniels,
Starting point is 00:10:07 they can get Marvin Harrison. They have Terry McLaren, you know. Yeah, they got. They have a lot of cap room. They have a lot of cap room. New coach. Cliff's the offensive coordinator there? Not from Cheers.
Starting point is 00:10:20 Cliff Kingsbury? Oh, I did not. So, yeah, I'm going to go with... Not from Cheers, the mailman. Hey, I'm going to go with Atlanta. I'm going to the NBA here. The top four team separated by three games in the West. Who do you see finishing on top?
Starting point is 00:10:35 I see Denver still finishing as the one seat, and if they don't finish as the one seat, they probably still win the West. They're awesome. If I ever am watching NBA Sunday ticket, aka leak pass. That didn't sound right. Which I have.
Starting point is 00:10:51 And some nights I'll just flip. I watch a decent amount of OKC games. Yeah. And I would watch it before they even got fun and good because my wife's team. And so I have a friend that plays over there now. I'd say a buddy. More than a buddy, less than a friend.
Starting point is 00:11:03 Jalen with a Y. Jalen Williams number two from Arkansas. Yeah. So I do watch that. But anytime I watch Yoke, he's like next level. It's like, dude. playing a strategy game out there. My wife walked up while we were watching a Denver game
Starting point is 00:11:17 and she goes, who is that dude? Like lucky to be in the league, right? And I'm like, no. It's like somebody from the Y that got a free pass to come over and play. My son was like, mom, he's amazing. He's like one of the, he is the best player. It looks so easy.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Yeah. And there are nights where he may shoot the ball four times. Yeah. He doesn't have the need to put up 25. He may go, you know, they're playing me this way. I'll take 14 assists tonight and six points. Totally. It's a whole different type of game.
Starting point is 00:11:42 and that it's him looking out for the team. He wants the team to win. But they're good. I still say, and they're in third right now, and they have the second easiest schedule remaining. I think Denver probably wins it all again. Denver Boston would probably be my pick if I had to pick for the finals.
Starting point is 00:12:01 Yeah, Boston's looking strong, man. The Clippers, if they can stay healthy. They look good too. They've been really good. But I would go Denver's probably going to be the team I see finishing on top. But the T-Wolves in Oklahoma City, they're both so young. And the T-Wolves are a little older, but they haven't done it.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Other than that playing game, when my favorite player, Pat Bev, jumped up on the table. That was awesome. And they won the playing-game. They won the playing-game championship. They were the playing-game championships of the world. Other than that, they don't have a lot of experience with this team of winning in the playoffs. So I would go Denver 1. Clippers 2.
Starting point is 00:12:35 Clippers and Timberwolves in there in that round 2 and Oklahoma City going in at 4. But OKC's really good. Yeah, they are really good. And Chet has played every game this year. After being injured the whole season, I don't think he's missed a single game this year. That's pretty, yeah. And he's nine foot tall.
Starting point is 00:12:51 Yeah, it's gigantic. It's like a guy running on stil. It's eventually going to break something. Although I keep betting that he's going to get over the rebounds, whatever the number is and he never gets over the rebounds. Oh, what's the number? It changes, 9, 8, 7. He never gets it over?
Starting point is 00:13:01 No, because he'll play the outside for most of the game. I'm like, why come nobody told me that? All right, next question. All right, last one, winning 11 of the past 12. games, do you think the Celtics are peaking too early? I don't. They're a veteran team with... They've been there. A core group and also veterans that aren't in that core group that have been there.
Starting point is 00:13:22 So, you know, obviously they got their two money men. Brown. Do you think, who would you have, if you had to start the team over? Who's the one player you would want? Tatum. Is it easily Tatum to you? Over Jalen? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:34 Okay. Me too, probably. Some people love Jalen Brown even though he has one hand. Exactly. What's his one hand? layup? No, he can't really dribble his left hand. Oh, he can. Better than us. Yeah, yeah. But Porzingis
Starting point is 00:13:46 Stud. Stud. And if he stays healthy, but again, always injured, at least in the past. But not part of that core group. And then they have arguably one of the best defensive players in the league too. Who is Eddie? The defensive? Oh, Al Horford, dude, for sure. No. No.
Starting point is 00:14:02 Who is it? Who do you think? Play to Portland. Testing your knowledge here. Come on, keep going. Where else? Where else do you play? Boy, he came, the Bucks. What are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:14:16 Who are you talking about? Yeah, Kevin, who are you talking about? Who are you talking about? Start with the J? Yeah. And to the U? Yeah. Jew.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Jew. Drew. Oh, yeah, yeah. Drew. The Bucs, eh. Drew. Drew. But yeah, was he...
Starting point is 00:14:32 And Derek White, even Derek White. Derek White's awesome, too. It's like three walks a game as a guard. So I think that overall team, that overall team, that That's six guys that are awesome. And you have the guys that have been there. Yeah. Getting close.
Starting point is 00:14:48 I don't think they can peek too early because I think they have the veteran leadership and I think they also have, but even like Drew's not a rookie. He hasn't won. He's won a championship. With the Bucks. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:00 He hasn't won't he won with Boston? But wasn't he in like Portland for a minute in that trade? Exactly. It came from Portland when he went to Boston. Exactly. Yeah. When they got damed,
Starting point is 00:15:07 the Bucks got damed. Oh, that's why I didn't know. Two days, and then he came to... The trick. Awesome. I was like, came from Portland. So technically, yes. Kevin, are you upset that they continue to play Porzingis,
Starting point is 00:15:16 even though he know he's not 100%? No, they sat him a couple games ago on Sunday, and then they still beat the Warriors by 50. Okay. That Warriors game. But, yeah, like, low-key would be like, all right, just sit him the rest of the season. Who cares?
Starting point is 00:15:28 You know? Just keep him for the playoffs. He is so good. Porzengis? Yes. Yeah, we watched him play. He's so... And he's tall...
Starting point is 00:15:35 He's a tall guy out there. It almost feels like he should break, though. But he is... He is thicker. And that's probably why he gets hurt because he does break eventually. He is thicker than like the Chets. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Women yamas. Even like like Gobert. I mean, Gobert's a big guy. Oh, he's thick. Gobert's a big boy. Gabby's kind of thin. Go bear? Really?
Starting point is 00:15:54 I don't know about that. I've never seen him in person though. So I don't know. I'm just going off TV. I haven't either. So what do we know? TV looks pretty good. All right, there you go.
Starting point is 00:16:02 That's Tittle Tittle. We're going to get over to these packages in a second. Yes. We're going to do a little. break. Yeah, like four of them. But I thought my Larry Bird ball would be cool to bring it on and sit here. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:16:21 I mean, look at Kevin. He hadn't stopped looking at it. Yeah. Listen to NFL Daily with Greg Rosenthal on the free IHeart Radio app. Open the app, search NFL Daily, and listen now. Okay, so the semi-big announcement that I'm making is that, I don't know, three months or so ago, I told my wife, I was like, hey, I think I want to do like a little docu-series on sports memorabilia. I had a friend approached me about starting a sports memorabilia, like, online company with some other people. I wouldn't do the work. I would just invest in it. That's the way to do it.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Pretty prominent friend. Yeah, but then it costs more money. Well, sure. But I don't want to do the work. You don't have to do anything. And I have some sports memorabilia. Most of it's Arkansas. off, but I was like, that's cool.
Starting point is 00:20:17 So then I heard about these breaks. And I didn't give you guys the full context of when I was doing them because they are awesome. And I see how you can get it. I'm like, you pay 50 bucks and they're like, depending on it. It's like, pick your division, one of eight. If they pull your division out of the box, then you get whatever that is. Sometimes it's pick your team.
Starting point is 00:20:33 And there's like 30 and it costs less because your odds are way less. But they pull your team. So I'm doing these breaks on TikTok crazy. In a culture and these guys sit there and they basically just go home shopping network from their TikTok account. All day. They mail it to you if you win it. And so I started collecting all this stuff. I have all these jerseys, have signed stuff. And my goal was I had a budget that I had set myself and then I was going to see how much I could make over a certain amount of time to that budget, how much stuff I could get, and then try to sell it back and see if I could
Starting point is 00:21:02 profit off of it or see what I really like. Well, experiment. Or see if we also did them ourselves, if we could make money. Like I wanted to do a series on this culture. And so that's what I've been doing. I've stopped doing breaks, period. I'm not doing it at all anymore. Was that hard to quit? Yeah, because it was awesome. It was like somebody who goes undercover, like, I'm going to go test the drug trade.
Starting point is 00:21:23 They're like, I love cocaine. I didn't expect to fall in love with it. Yeah. I'll tell you, I did one. A break? Yeah. Do you win? Well, see, here's the funny part.
Starting point is 00:21:32 It's both. Go ahead. So it was like four days ago or so. I was scrolling on TikTok and I saw, you know, a guy on live was doing it. I was like, you know, I haven't gambled in a while. Oh, boy. You got in? So, yeah, I paid 30 bucks, and I texted Kevin.
Starting point is 00:21:51 I was like, hey, I'm going to choose the Patriots. So, you know, because I don't really keep up with that much, but I know he loves the Patriots. And so they were trying to fill up. And anyway, they ended up canceling it, and they were going to redo it the next day. And I totally forgot about it, but I just got a notification that they shipped. Yeah, but that doesn't mean you won. Oh, really? Because they ship, if you lose, they send you, like, like, have three of these.
Starting point is 00:22:11 These are cards. Because they can't be gambling. So everybody went something. You may not have won. You still might have won, but no, they ship on everything. He showed me too. He's like, Kevin, I got something coming for you, man. Hey, are these my cards?
Starting point is 00:22:25 Yeah, we can go through them. Okay. So I have... What is that? My address is on it, but on the boxes, Mike's like, make sure your address doesn't show. Yeah, good, Mike. Nice.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Thank you, Mike. A bunch of little creepers out there. A bunch of weirdos trying to get to my house. We get mad at them. They've done nothing. No one was even thinking about it. All right, the first box. Bones, hold on, what is this box?
Starting point is 00:22:47 I don't know. Where's it from? It's a big white box. I don't know. All these people build these sides. I have no idea. Okay. Okay, it looks like it's...
Starting point is 00:22:56 Oh, that could be a helmet. Oh, it's a racing helmet. Oh, two things. Jersey? That's definitely not a helmet. Here, give the box. Okay, the first thing... It's like Christmas.
Starting point is 00:23:06 Let's do the Jersey first. Woo! The first thing inside of... Hey, practice breaks. Do it with your hands. You know, like I always flip it over real nice. No, no, no, no. Let's see what we got here.
Starting point is 00:23:18 That's what they say. Okay, if it's in a black bag, what I've learned, it is an authentic. Oh. Not a custom. Custom. Which custom jerseys look like to the jerseys. But no logos. But no logos of the teams.
Starting point is 00:23:32 This is an authentic. So it is a... Oh. Whoa! Farvra. Farvra. It is a signed. Authentics.
Starting point is 00:23:44 They're all signed. Everything's signed. It's an authentic. Authentic signed. Oh my. Brett Favre. Bones. Barbara.
Starting point is 00:23:52 That's cool. Dang. Okay. Would you lay that? Oh, I got it. It's white, so don't, don't lay it on the ground. Dude, I haven't eaten anything. I'm good.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Or like you can put it on the chair or something. Wow, this is so cool. Okay. This is a legit jersey, guys. Yeah. Legit. It's got the NFL logo on it and everything. So that's a Brett Farb signed.
Starting point is 00:24:09 Is it a armpit sweat? Jersey. No. Is that a grass stain? This next thing is a helmet. I can tell its helmet. And it's an authentic helmet. It's an authentic helmet,
Starting point is 00:24:16 It's heavy. Now, there are replicas, which are still awesome to have. Yeah. And that's what most of them are, because it looks like a whatever helmet, and they just sign it. This is so heavy. It's, I wish I wouldn't have started with an authentic, because it's going to be a letdown for whatever these are. Those might be authentic, too.
Starting point is 00:24:30 Okay. So. Oh. Okay, hold on. As you see, it's Denver Broncos. Yeah, yeah. That's sexy. It's a white Denver Broncos helmet.
Starting point is 00:24:39 Careful, careful. What? Just the way you're touching it, man. You don't want to rub off any autograph on there. Well, here's what sucks, is that I didn't know what I was opening. And so I didn't know what was going to be the first. And this is my big one. This is a authentic Denver Broncos signed helmet.
Starting point is 00:24:53 And it says John Elway's Super Bowl champs. He signed it. And the other one says Peyton Manning Super Bowl 50 champs. What the heck? They both signed this one. When I bought it immediately, I got a DM, some guy offered me almost $4,000 for this helmet. Wow.
Starting point is 00:25:07 It's a white Broncos authentic helmet. John Elway's Super Bowl 32 and 33 champs, or something like that. And the other one says Peyton Manning. Wow. Number 18, Super Bowl 50 chances. That's a big one, boys and girls.
Starting point is 00:25:20 Dang. I won that one. That one, they were pissed when I won it because they had never seen that one. Well, what are you pissed about? There was some Broncos fan who had been trying to win forever. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:25:35 That's really, really cool. John Elway, number seven. Like 60? Did you pay like 60 or something? Peyton Manning. It's all the same. You don't know what you're going to get. I easily could have pulled, you know,
Starting point is 00:25:44 Sam Howell, if I pay for it. and it comes up. But I never picked the Broncos. It happened to pick the Broncos, and that hit. That's so cool, dude. Peyton Manning slash John Elway autographed authentic helmet. This is an awesome helmet, too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:58 I got two more boxes. Hang bones. Those waffles? Well, no, this is a let's go. What they call it? Let's go. Yeah, it's supposed to look like egos. Every time I see those boxes, I still just crave waffles.
Starting point is 00:26:11 Can you open it? Yeah, yeah, man. Don't pull it out, though. I won't do anything. No, you do, because you're like all hands. Okay, here we go. I don't do it. I got two boxes left.
Starting point is 00:26:19 I got keys. Oh, the keys, got it. So this one is in a box. And in this one, it's the let's go. Obviously, that's not going to be a helmet because it's a smaller box. Yeah. Mike, you got a knife? We just went through this.
Starting point is 00:26:32 Nobody has a knife in this whole building. That's why I got the keys. Because of, you... Are you talking to you? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't want to mess my finger up. All right, it's opening. Okay, cool.
Starting point is 00:26:42 Hold on. Can't tear it? Can't tear it? And these are, yeah, you can tear it. You sure? So what these are, a lot of times they're either funcos, signed funcos, or footballs. And the footballs are usually white. They're not the, um, the white.
Starting point is 00:26:57 So you can do an autograph? Yeah, but they're not the game balls. Okay. There's a very few game balls that they put in that are signed, not on white because it's more difficult to sign them. But they will do those sometimes. In this one, oh, there's a jersey in here too. So it's not a fun. So there's a jersey first.
Starting point is 00:27:14 This is red. This is Buffalo running back, Cook, signed. Oh, yeah, that's, I'm not going to put that one out. See, which one will leave it in the bag? Yeah, just laid over there. But it ain't authentic. I don't want it. Now, that's not true, but that's a James Cook Buffalo.
Starting point is 00:27:29 How do you know it's a custom? Isn't it a clear bag? It says, okay. Got it. Yeah, you know what you're talking. This one is a signed ball. It's white. It is a double signed.
Starting point is 00:27:41 David Njoku, Jerome Ford double signed autograph which is rare to have a double sign a brown's double sign that's a good hit that's a good hit double sign's rare
Starting point is 00:27:54 okay that's good I got one more here I think is I got like nine up at the house I haven't opened yet dude even the Brown's helmet on this is embroidered into the ball can I see your keys to open it? That's really cool yeah
Starting point is 00:28:03 really really cool Is that like a felt no kind of like a patch but it's sewn into the ball all right here go go Go long, Kevin. No, don't throw it. All right.
Starting point is 00:28:14 Let's go outside. Okay, this one is a bigger box. This could be a helmet, but it didn't feel that heavy. So it could be a replica helmet? Is it that difference of the weight? Where like one feels like a plastic toy helmet? Dude, I don't know. I mean, maybe my head's just going.
Starting point is 00:28:28 This one can't be that good. Okay. Oh, man, some... Watch, yeah, watch that. The final box. It is a helmet. Okay. It feels...
Starting point is 00:28:39 It feels authentic. It feels authentic. What the heck? Okay, let's get out the box. Is that a Cowboys helmet? No, I don't have any Cowboys helmet. I try it. Complete opposite of what you want.
Starting point is 00:28:50 I tried. Oh, Eagles. It's an authentic. Eagles. Jalen? Jalen Hertz. Wow. Where's the autograph?
Starting point is 00:29:01 And green, too. Green marker. That's a trippy color. That is the coolest thing I've seen that I'm not a fan of. I think this is probably, if I were look it up. this exact helmet. Mike, would you look at this out of the price?
Starting point is 00:29:14 I bet you it's like a thousand bucks. It's not L.A. Manning, double-signed Super Bowl champions. But this is like, other than Patrick Mahomes, quarter of it. Probably,
Starting point is 00:29:28 because it's an authentic, not a replica. And this is specific helmet. It's like, I don't know what color that is. It's silver. Metallic silver. It's different.
Starting point is 00:29:37 What are you talking about? I don't, I'm colorblind. Under different colors or it looks like a different color. Well, under different light. Under the yellow light,
Starting point is 00:29:43 it looks yellowish. Am I wrong? Is it way cheaper? Hold on. Your mic's not on. I'm seeing like 800, 900. Okay. So this one here, it's got like glitter on the wing. That's all I have for now here. But, Bones, this is actually really, really cool. Like, what's cool about these helmets is they don't look like the team helmets.
Starting point is 00:30:00 They look like different versions of them. Some of them, yeah. I've never seen this kind of Eagles helmet. Now, I didn't know what I was bringing down here. I do have a bunch of replicas, too. But I do have a really cool worn moon replica oilers. Oh, yeah. That he signed.
Starting point is 00:30:11 And now I've got a couple replicas at the radio studio. Can't City cheese, running back rice, Watt, you know, DJ Watt, George Pickens. I've never known that it's one sticker. The wings are one sticker that wraps around the whole front of the helmet. I didn't either. I thought it'd be two stickers, you know, one of each side. This is really cool, man. I don't think of ever really thought about that.
Starting point is 00:30:31 So that's it for now. We did the announcement. No, you can't have it. Let me put this on and do the tush push. Let's lay off. Come on. This is one time. You versus Reed and we push you.
Starting point is 00:30:41 Oh, Chad. I'm down. That is awesome. I have some more that we could open if you guys want to open some more later. Yeah. But it's a lot of fun. I'll play some audio.
Starting point is 00:30:49 I'll be winning some stuff too. But yeah, that's what's up. Do you have a parlay? No? What do you? Whoa. We're waiting for the lines to come out. Yeah, because it's got to be,
Starting point is 00:30:59 it depends on when we want this come out. So do we just say, scroll and pick Team 4? We're just going to insert it later. Got, well, are we going to piss up today? That's what we didn't talk about before. Oh. Yeah, let's put it up today.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Yeah. Because we want to put this up as soon as possible. Okay. 25 whistles presented by Draft King's Sportsbook and official sports betting partner of the NFL. Starting point is 00:31:25 I'm actually going to insert it right here. Here's your parlay. The Sixers Money Line. They're the favorite. Who they're playing? Minus 218. They're playing the Grizz in Philly. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:35 This is a four-partner, by the way. Just collect your smiles. Come on. Next up. Clippers minus six and a half at the Rockets. Yeah, I like. It's only a three-parter. I just pull one.
Starting point is 00:31:47 I don't like that. I don't like the fourth one. I just saw the fourth I'm pulling out. Oh, you don't like that one? I don't like it. I'm just a three-parter. All right. So far, just 76ers.
Starting point is 00:31:53 So we've got 76s money line. No, no, we're keeping the Clippers in. Okay. Clippers minus six and a half. And then we're doing the Cleveland money line at Atlanta. Yeah. So I feel pretty good about that. It's plus $4.90.
Starting point is 00:32:07 You know, I'd go double smiles. That's how good I feel about this. Come on. Double smiles. Sixers money line, Cleveland money line. Clippers spread. which is minus six and a half. Good luck.
Starting point is 00:32:18 Go get it. That's the one right there. Perfect. Yeah, thank you. I sign off on it. Thank you. Yeah, man. If you want to take the 25 whistles parley,

Okay, here's Belmont coach, Casey Alexander. He's the head basketball coach.
Starting point is 00:35:00 They're super cool. We went in, I mean, basically, we do the show too much access so we can go on play ball. Yeah, pretty much. And then we interview people while we're there. I didn't tell you, though, that I went to a game.
Starting point is 00:35:09 Yeah, right afterwards. And the coach's powwow is pretty cool, man. You talked about that. Oh, before the game. Yeah, what's it called? The coach is what? Powwow. Powwow.
Starting point is 00:35:19 I thought you were saying it was. Like, you were in. He's like, all right, John, you could take it. Go here. Top the key. Eddie, time out. Eddie, you come in. You're the number seven.
Starting point is 00:35:27 Eddie, get out of the huddle, man. No, he comes out and like you're having, you know, whatever drinks and snacks with, I guess, alumni or boosters or whatever people. And he comes out. And he's like, all for coming. Here's the game plan. This team's really good. They're number one right now in the division.
Starting point is 00:35:43 And we're going to do this to him. And they got a big guy, but he's really not that good. We should have recorded it. Send it over the other coach. It's crazy. I'm like, why are you telling all these people this? I don't think they do it every game.
Starting point is 00:35:55 Do they? I don't think they do. I don't know. Whatever. But everyone's looking at like, it's first game I've been to. It's like they, I've been to a couple of those,
Starting point is 00:36:05 and I don't even sometimes I don't know what they're talking about. And I was like, yep. Yeah. I just nod. Like, I know that what, here's what we're going to, three, two. I'll get the press here. Three two all that.
Starting point is 00:36:16 Yeah. Oh, yeah. That's a great one. That's a good coach. I think that'll do it. And then there's like an assistant that was there too. It's kind of like Coach Beard from Ted Lassow. And then he comes and be like, yeah, yeah, but it's all right.
Starting point is 00:36:24 We're rested. We came off a good win two weeks ago, so we're going to be good on this one too. Casey Alexander, the coach played point guard for the Bruins in the 90s. He's in their athletic Hall of Fame. He's in the top 10 as far as program wins across the country since 2019. Fun to chat with. Here he is. Coach, Casey Alexander.
Starting point is 00:36:41 Coach, we appreciate the time. Anytime we talk with someone who had to coach. coach at their alma mater. You know, there's a different kind of pressure there. A great pressure, but still a, like, how does that, you know, manifest itself with you? Is it stressful nights? Is it? Because, again, you know more about this program than pretty much anybody.
Starting point is 00:36:59 Yeah, it's a combination probably of pressure and pride, you know. And then when you throw on top of that, replace a college basketball Hall of Fame coach that's won over 800 games and a program that's used to winning. It creates, the pressure can mount for sure. Did he vouch for you? I hope so. I mean, was that a big boy? Was he able to pick his successor and he looked across town and said that's my view?
Starting point is 00:37:22 Yeah, I don't think he's as simple as picking his successor. But he and I have stayed tremendously close through the years, played for him long ago and was an assistant coach for him for 16 years. So that connection and then just him being such a great mentor to me, it was an easy slide over. You ever see a player you're recruiting that it's a great athlete, can do a lot of the things right, but just has like a funky little shot or something.
Starting point is 00:37:45 and you have to fix something fundamental, but everything else is so good and prime. Do you ever take that project on? Yes and no. You know, there really are no perfect guys out there, you know, especially if you're looking at both ends of the floor. You know, some guys, they all have different talents. And when you recruit them, you know, you're obviously very excited about them. You believe that they have what it takes and they're going to come in and have great careers.
Starting point is 00:38:12 It doesn't always manifest itself that way. But so what we do. try to do is accentuate the positives, certainly work on the negatives. But, you know, that's what recruiting is. Like, how do you get a guy that can come in and fit your program? And maybe he's not the prototype, but he brings something specific to the table that can really help you get better. Why don't they granny shot more free throws? That's a great question. Because, and they do in some other countries. Like, I watch like Australia, their free throw percentage is so much higher, generally, because they granny shot. And they've, you know, obviously been a couple guys.
Starting point is 00:38:45 or one specifically, they used to do it in the NBA. Is it just because it looks dumb? Yeah, style over substance. You know, it literally is a great question. You know, Rick Berry perfected the granny shot, and his sons, who were all great college players, shot it that way. And I think statistics would prove.
Starting point is 00:39:03 I think if we lined everybody up and we started over and we said, this is the only way you're going to shoot free throws from now on, the free throw world would be better. Maybe it's the name, you know? Maybe just change great. Get great out of there. Call it like the under power shot. Underpower.
Starting point is 00:39:16 You know what I mean? Under the power hook shot. Hook. Now we've added hook to it. If your team came to you and said, we want to all shoot granny shots for free throws, what would you say? Granny shots, I would probably say no, but if they wanted the underhook power shot. Okay. Yes.
Starting point is 00:39:31 That's what I'm talking about. I might consider it that way. Yes. Coach, I feel like being a college basketball coach is an opportunity to get that plaque on the wall of like some amazing speech that you had, right? but have you ever had like a speech where you went in there and you're like I should not have said that or I said that wrong. It truly is one of those things where the more I plan what I'm going to say, the worse that it goes. I think you've got to be pretty authentic in those moments and if they're relying on me for their motivation, then we're in a bad place. But seasons in general, it's a roller coaster no matter what season you're in, who you coach, what sport is.
Starting point is 00:40:07 And so you try to stay pretty even kill and you try to touch on the right buttons when the moment calls. for it. Do you allow cameras in the locker room? I mean, we've had them on occasion, you know, yeah, sure. But not all the time recording everything. Well, we're not like all exclusive, you know, you know, you guys come anytime you want to kind of a thing. But hey, for somebody like you guys, you guys are always welcome. Oh, you heard it. I don't want to always be in a locker room. I'm not being honest. I'm good. It smells weird in there. Do you have to any of the speeches or any of the lessons that you teach at halftime or practice, do you have to like spread them out, especially if it's like an emotional one or if it's a powerful one,
Starting point is 00:40:46 where you want to make sure that everybody's gone from the last time you've given it. Like as soon as all those guys are out, you can now go back, yes. Yeah, no, not a whole lot of that. You know, a lot of that will come early team meetings, early season team meetings. We're gathering for the first time, you know, kind of laying the ground where here's who we are. You know, here's why we are the way we are. Here's where our program has come from. Here's what you're stepping into.
Starting point is 00:41:09 So we speak to that a lot, especially here. We've got such a great winning tradition that we want everybody to understand, you know, kind of who they represent and why. But as far as the day-to-day going through a season, no, I'd keep it pretty simple. I want to talk about halftime adjustments. So if it's going well or it's going awful and you're going to go into the locker room and do adjustments, why could you not do adjustments to the same level halfway through the first half if it's all the guys that are just sitting there anyway? They'd be like, coach, we should do this. Why only at halftime?
Starting point is 00:41:36 It's not only at halftime. It's every time out. Every time out is full of adjustments. that's really all that we're communicating to them is. So halftime adjustments overrated then? You're just doing it all time? Definitely overrated. I would get rid of halftime completely if they would allow us.
Starting point is 00:41:49 Just give us another timeout, maybe add another minute or two. Some Kool-Aid and bananas. No reason for us to go back to the locker room. You know, we don't have to have the dance team and the red panda out there on the floor for halftime. Let's just make it longer. But that's literally what the game is. Every time out, every halftime is about here's what we need to continue to do and here's what we need to improve on.
Starting point is 00:42:10 Like, there are a lot of coaches. Lots of coaches. Yeah, I don't even know who's a coach or, like, who's just getting to wear the same clothes on the bench, you know? What are, what's everybody doing? I don't need every specific, but like, is there just a guy that's supposed to watch the center? Is there a guy that's only running to tell you to chat? Like, what is that? All right.
Starting point is 00:42:27 Yeah, that's a great question. For our staff, we have four assistants, and that's the same for everybody in the country. You can have a certain number of people that are actually on the road recruiting or coaching on the floor during practice. they all have position groups. So there's some guys that have the guards, the wings, the posts, you know, you name it. And so they're selective as far as how they're watching the game and who they're communicating with. And then you break it down, you know, who has the scout for this game? You know, we're playing Arkansas.
Starting point is 00:42:53 And, you know, so this coach. You'll beat us by 100 years. So this coach has the scout for Arkansas. So he's more involved in that game. But the next game we play Team X and, you know, there's another coach that's that has that scout. So he's more involved for that game. I feel like this year, you guys have played. played way better than your record is.
Starting point is 00:43:10 Meaning, there's been a lot of, you guys have been in so many freaking close games. I hope you're right. Yeah, I mean, I do feel that way. I was, you know, following along, which is why we came here and looking at where you're ranked on the conference, I was surprised to see. Because, again, do you feel like you've had more close games this season that didn't turn out the way that you'd hope than ever before? Very much so.
Starting point is 00:43:31 Definitely more so than, you know, in our recent past. You know, it's been over 10 years since we've lost three games in a row. It's been 20-something years since Belmont's lost. four games in a row. And so, and that can happen quite frequently in a basketball season where you're playing 30 plus games. So it's unusual territory for us not to be winning at the, at the level that we're used to. But there's a long way to go. You know, it's part of my job as a leader and is to make sure that when it's all said and done and we wrap it up, we've got, we've got good numbers when it's over. How long does it take you to get over a loss? Because I coached my
Starting point is 00:44:00 kids basketball games and, man, it just ruins my weekend. Ruin my whole weekend. Same. It's the same. You know, truly, truly. coaching is, especially when you do it for a profession, I mean, it's really hard to turn it off, almost impossible to turn it off. You know, you weren't really hard to be, you know, a good husband in my case or father, and I don't know how I do with those things, but it's hard to ever walk away from it. And the losses stay with you a lot longer than the wins do. So you came in 1920, right? That's your first year's head coach? Yeah, 1920. Okay. What the hell of a year? Not the year 1920. I was like, God, no, no. I was like,
Starting point is 00:44:34 I was not that old. 19-20. But in the first year. In the head. But in the year, the year, not the head. But in that time, I mean, we've seen the portal become a massive part of college athletics in general. And you've got guys that are coming from bigger schools and then guys that could use this as a way to get to bigger schools. Like, how is that affecting recruiting every year for you? It's a mess. There's not a coach out there who firmly supports the portal. I think all of us like for our players to have some opportunity, you know, but it's made a mess. It's made a mess of the whole thing, you know, and going back to the 1920s season, we also had COVID there for a couple of years. So we came out of COVID and entered transfer portal season,
Starting point is 00:45:17 and it's changed everything quite a bit. We, we, this program has always been about continuity and cohesiveness and kind of being old, seeing guys develop over time, and that model is really, really challenged. And so we have to adapt. We've got to be different. But we also kind of have to stay true to who we are and have a culture here that looks and feels different. than everybody else. Final three questions. If we asked your players to give us a word, one word to describe your coaching style, what do you think they would say?
Starting point is 00:45:48 Oh, man, I don't have one. The first thing that came to my mind was tough, I mean, demanding maybe. I think in the right way. I mean, I want to push our players at a high level. I want to be reasonable about it. I think the old school days of you do it because I say you do it, those are long gone. So you try to love them really hard, but also coach them really hard.
Starting point is 00:46:12 Who gets to stand up on the bench other than you? Are there rules you can't stand up certain coach? Technically, just the head coach. They'll let an assistant coach stand up to coach briefly, but he can't remain standing. Okay. And when you get kicked out of a game, do you tell my heads up? Watch this. Never prepared for that, unfortunately, because there was a moment earlier this year where that happened.
Starting point is 00:46:34 but our assistant coaches handled that moment really well. They adapted and it was fine. They didn't miss me at all. And what do you do? What are you doing? This is top secret, but I was back in the bowels of the arena on my phone with maybe a GA during the time. I was watching the game on my computer. Had a little bit of delay.
Starting point is 00:46:57 It kind of ruined it for me because I was about three seconds behind the crowd that I could hear out in the arena. It was a road game. So I knew that something was coming. bad whenever I heard the crowd. I pictured you going to Chili's and just like watching the rest of them. Have some nachos? Nobody tells you. They escort you out of the gym and then it's like, hey, you're
Starting point is 00:47:14 on your own for the next hour. That's funny. You get grounded but just throwing the yard basically. Coach, what do you want people to know about Belmont as a program? I want them to know what Belmont University is, man. It's an awesome community of people. I think it's rooted in the right things. I think we
Starting point is 00:47:30 stand for excellence here, but there's a community of faith that that's very important to the people that are here. The culture across campus, the culture in our department, true student athletes, and then we've got a lot of banners that show how successful we've been. We've got a lot of academic accomplishments that show how successful we've been. But more than anything, we've got a lot of people out in the world that are making a difference, and that's what Belmont is.
Starting point is 00:47:52 Appreciate your time, Coach. Thanks, coach. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from, basketball to college football or my career in sports media.

Starting point is 00:50:04 Life 12 and TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok. Now we're going to get to the players from Belmont. Here is Malik Dia. Malik's a hometown kid in Nashville. Went to Vanderbilt. Transfer to Belmont. He's a beast on the boards. Athletic freak.
Starting point is 00:50:18 He's just in him, donk. He's crazy. You can follow him on Instagram at Malik Diyah. Malik Dia. Malik Dia. Here's Malik. So if you have a, let's say, a breakaway dunk or a block or like a great steel, do you request that clip immediately for your Instagram?
Starting point is 00:50:34 Instagram? Not necessarily. It usually finds this way to me, but it's definitely good to see it. I'm just it's, I love seeing them. I say that. When you saw yourself on SportsCenter Top 10, because that's pretty sick. Yeah. Is that the coolest thing that's happened, like as far as national press? Yeah, no doubt. A hundred percent. I'd say there was one earlier in the season as well that I thought should have made it, the firming game. But that was definitely amazing seeing myself on sports center top 10 it was nuts. Did you know after that play or did you have a good feeling or did you even think about it? Like that was so legit that somebody's going to show that in the highlight reel.
Starting point is 00:51:14 Oh yeah, I definitely. As soon as I did, I'm like, oh yeah, this is going everywhere. Do you tell people though, like, hey, hey, check this out. Do you send it to friends? Oh, no, I mean, I think my friends are the ones who see it eventually and they send it to me, but I'm not just going to go out there and just be like, oh, my gosh, look at me. Oh, that's not who I am. Do you have some games depending on who you're playing a game?
Starting point is 00:51:34 that maybe your role completely changes for a game, or is it consistent regardless? I think I try to stay consistent in my efforts each and every game, and I know who I am as a player, but some games, it's like maybe you got to get your teammates more involved because, you know, they're helping off a lot. And some games, it's like you've got to be more aggressive because you know you have a better matchup. So I think just going into each and every game, you just got to look for, you know, the small things that'll help the team work. Can you tell in the first two to three minutes how physical the reps are going to allow the game to be? And is that always the indicator of the entire game or that's,
Starting point is 00:52:04 Sometimes they just change. I think sometimes it change. You know, I really try to have a good relationship with the refs. You know, I try and go and talk to them before the game and stuff. But usually you can see if they're going to let you play and let you be physical or, you know, they're going to call it tight or not in the first, like, two, three minutes or so. But sometimes it'll change. You know, you talk to them, you try and, you know, get a good feel for them and see what's happening. You ever look them up and find out what, like their kid's name is?
Starting point is 00:52:29 Before a game, we're like, yo, hey, Chuck, I saw Mindy turn 11. Happy birthday. You want the spelling bee. Right, because then it's humans, right? I mean, they're supposed to be refs, but we're all just humans. You ever do anything like that? I should. Yeah, I would be doing it.
Starting point is 00:52:44 I'd be doing it. I'd be doing it. I need to start doing that. Maybe they'll give me a few more foul calls. They won't mean to do it, but they will just do it naturally because we're humans. Yeah, I need a. Fundamentals, Malik, how often are you still working on fundamentals or is that kind of something that you just did when you were younger?
Starting point is 00:53:01 Do you still do the figure eight work, you know? Yeah, I still do all the funerals. fundamentals, man. I'm in the gym every single day. It's just something I love to do. Working on the fundamentals are really like the basics. You don't really got to do anything flashy. I think there's a lot of easy ways to get points and help your team and just be so effective in simple ways. So I mean, the flashy stuff is cool every now and then, but like, you know, you don't really need to excessively work on that more. So I work on like fundamentals and just being a good basics basketball player. Is basketball still fun for you?
Starting point is 00:53:30 Always, every single day. I mean, and that's kind of what it's about, right? If you love doing it, you probably work harder at it. You work harder at it. You get better at it? Yeah. I just say, you know, growing up playing basketball, it just like, it just grasped me so strongly. And I was just like, this is something I really want to do in my life. And I just want to put my all into a work hard at it so I can be good at it. And not only that, when you're working at, I feel like it's just so much fun. It's just like you're in the gym. You're doing what you love, you know? So, do you want the ball game on the line?
Starting point is 00:53:59 Of course. Do you say, do you say that? I mean, I let Coach Alexander do what's best for the team, you know. I think he knows what's best, but in my mind, I'm always ready to take the last time. But you really know. Like, he thinks he knows, but you really know. Like, you know, no. I mean, that's a difference. He knows, but you know, no.
Starting point is 00:54:17 I guess so. Well, yeah, yeah, yeah. Malik, you're a local kid. Like, you grew up in the area. What's it like coming to school, like, you know, right down the street from your house, not literally, but, you know, do your parents show up all the time? Yeah. I'd say just having my parents there at every game is just, you know, amazing. and then having my friends and people who are in town and stuff,
Starting point is 00:54:35 just to come see me is amazing. So I definitely say it wasn't the main part of my decision, but I definitely say it is super helpful, and it's just amazing for everybody to come and just show support and just have the city behind my back. How's your foot? Foot's good. Foot's great now.
Starting point is 00:54:52 You don't worry about it anymore? No. Mentally? Don't worry about it anymore? Mentally, I don't even think about it. You know, it was a big hump to come over at first, but I think now that, you know, basketball seasons came in and more focused on the season and stuff, I think everything's been going well.
Starting point is 00:55:08 I think I don't really think about it anymore. Do you think about how much sleep you get tonight? Yeah, I've had a lot of people tell me about my sleep patterns. I need to work on that and get more sleep. So you're saying it ain't good, that's what you're saying. It's a working progress. Okay, yeah, me too. I feel, yeah, I feel, yeah, you too.
Starting point is 00:55:23 Well, we really appreciate the time. Good luck the rest of season, and hope you stay healthy. Appreciate it. Good luck, man. Appreciate it. Now our chat with guard, Cade Tyson. He was throwing the ball off the wall and doing windmill slams when we were there. He was 22, Carolina Mr. Basketball in high school.
Starting point is 00:55:38 Just shoots like crazy. Follow him on Instagram at Cade Tyson. At C-A-D-E-T-Y-S-O-N. Here he is, C-D-Tyson. How tall are you? Really, really? Shoes off 6-6, shoes on at 6. Shouldn't they always measure with shoes on, though?
Starting point is 00:55:53 Because when do you not play with shoes? I guess that's a good point. I don't know. Because I, if someone asks me, how tall, are you, I don't go shoes off. Like on my driver's license, it says 6-1. And the driver's license is, it's as S-L on it. The driver's license is more official than anything that's happening in, you know,
Starting point is 00:56:08 college basketball. Yeah. So 6-7? Yes. Did you ever have a growth spurt that hurt? Um, not necessarily that hurt, but I had a big growth spurt, um, like during my sophomore year in high school. And you grew how many inches in a season a year?
Starting point is 00:56:25 Probably about five or six. Were you one of those guys that had a ton of ball handling? then you grew even more. So then you had all the skills? I mean, I wouldn't say all that. I just stay consistent, try to. That's why I say too, but. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:38 What's the confidence level like, you know, being a college basketball player and just knowing that you are as good as anyone out there? Yeah, I mean, you know, I try and stay level-headed all the time. And not get too high and not get too low based off one game or one practice. And that's pretty much it. You ever watch film and and watch yourself in both scenarios, like, God, I'm so good.
Starting point is 00:57:02 You should be getting more minutes. Or how am I not, how's he not pulling me? Like, does that happen? Yeah, it's usually more of how's he not pulling me out the game. I tend to focus on the negative a lot when I watch film just because, like I said, I don't want to get too high or low. So I focus more on the spots I can get better. When you come in and as a freshman, you get accolades like crazy,
Starting point is 00:57:24 you come back for your sophomore year. Is there a leadership role that they, kind of expect you to fall into now that you've been here a season? Oh, yeah, definitely. And I mean, I've been working on that. I've said a lot that I'm not the most vocal guy, but I've had to step up and be a lot more vocal this year. Is that uncomfortable for you? And do you push yourself to do it even if it doesn't feel comfortable? Yeah, I mean, yeah, it's definitely uncomfortable. I don't like to do it. But I mean, I know that if we want to win games, then we want to be a good team that I got I got to take on that role. What about high school when you're playing high school ball? Were you
Starting point is 00:57:55 more vocal then or were you just like a silent assassin as well? Yeah, I wasn't very vocal. I mean, I had some other guys on my team that like to speak up. And, you know, high school's a little different. You just go out there and play the game, which, I mean, was what I try and do regardless. But, yeah, it wasn't as vocal in high school for sure. What was for you, the level like going from high school, senior year to freshman year? Because you kind of came in and, you know, you started popping off pretty quick. Was it not as drastic of a change as you thought? Yeah, definitely. I was kind of a little bit skeptical.
Starting point is 00:58:27 about where I would see myself fit in at the next level. But it just seemed to work out well. Why Belmont? I like the Christian aspect of it, and I just felt like I could see myself going there and playing, getting good minutes, and I like the, I definitely like the coaching staff and the relationships that I built over the recruitment process. When you're getting recruited, does coach say, I can see you playing freshman year, like you're going to play freshman year?
Starting point is 00:58:53 Or does he say, we'd love to have you, you're talented, and you're going to have to, I don't know, work and see if we can get you in there? Honestly, I really don't remember, but it was probably more of the first statement. He sees minutes for you. Yeah. If you don't play X amount of minutes, that's disappointing to you, either because you didn't play well or maybe you got hurt. Like, how many minutes do you want to play a game?
Starting point is 00:59:15 Yeah, I mean, I don't really focus on the minutes. I just focus on when I get out there, just going out there, competing, playing harder than everybody else on the court and you'll just see what happens. You don't talk any trash at all? I do sometimes. Not when I'm playing bad, though. I got to make sure I'm playing good. That'd be the worst time to talk to them.
Starting point is 00:59:30 Right. Equipment-wise, like, if you want an arm sleeve, you want some J's, like, do you just ask them and they give them to? I mean, I'm sure I, well, not Jays because we're not. Right, right, right. You know what I meant. I'm sure I could ask for, like, a cat sleeve or something, and then I have to fill out some paper, maybe lie on the forum a little bit, like my calf's been hurting or something.
Starting point is 00:59:50 Nice. But, I mean, I could probably get one if I wanted to. What about when you get treatment? You'd be like, oh, I'm hurt. but really you're not, you just kind of want to massage. Did you ever happen? Yeah. But no.
Starting point is 00:59:58 No, no, of course. No, yeah, of course. Just the regular sweetest massage? Yeah, yeah. Do you have any rocks that you put on in my bag? Yeah. Because that's a resource, right? Yeah, I mean, you could do that, but yeah, I tend to not.
Starting point is 01:00:11 Yeah, I would say that too. Yeah. But I would be like, oh, my neck. Can you get my, can get my quads too? I'm on my feet. This season, I feel like you guys have been so close in so many of these games. I was telling Coach, that it's like you guys are playing way better, I feel, than your record is.
Starting point is 01:00:29 I've not seen a team be as good but lose so many close games. What do you think the X factor is that's going to take you guys through the next part of the season, I guess the next half of the season even, to get you guys ready for the tournament? Yeah, I mean, most of all just staying consistent. Coming in here and practice every day, just trying to get better every single day. Look at film, work on what we see we need to work on, and just keep getting better. You like Nashville? Oh, yeah, most definitely.
Starting point is 01:00:55 Well, you smiled, like why? Why do you like Nashville? Well, there's no shortness of food for sure. So you can go anywhere and get some good food. And I've never lived in like a big city. So it's all new to me, but I mean, I like it. I like it a lot. All right. Well, what's traveling like in an honor basketball team? Yeah, that was one of my worst things last year. Coming in as a freshman, I just hated travel. I mean, it's tough, but you start to get used to it after a while. Is it cool, though? Do you get time to, like, go see the city you're in? Or is it just like, no, game's over, back home?
Starting point is 01:01:28 Sometimes you do. Some trips you do. Sometimes you don't. But it's also cool hanging out in the hotel with you guys. Some might bring a console or something. You play in video games when you got to, not necessarily a day off, but when you got time to you. Play Twister and stuff. That'd be cool.
Starting point is 01:01:43 No, not Twister. No, not Twister. Is there a dedicated, he's bringing the PS5 guy? Yeah. Because that's a lot. Like, you put a PS5 in your bag. Is it always a freshman? No.
Starting point is 01:01:55 No, no, it was last year, but not anymore. Yeah, because if everybody thinks somebody's going to do it and nobody does it, then you get there and there's no 2K and then everybody's upset. Yeah, you just on TikTok the whole day. Yeah, the whole time. And then you get the message like, you should turn TikTok off and I swipe out of that and keep going. You ever get that? It's like, you've probably been awake too long when I get out of that.
Starting point is 01:02:13 Well, good luck the rest of the season. Stay healthy. We appreciate the time. Yep, I appreciate it. I thank you all those guys for doing those interviews with us. And you want to open a few more boxes before we go? Yeah. Two more Agos?
Starting point is 01:02:24 Well, this one, I actually pulled it right before I came down, and it's in an ego box, but this is a Mike Vic football. Oh, wow. You got two Mike Vic things. Well, I traded the other one with the listener. Oh, that's right. I forgot about that. I sent him the Mike Vic because my vet, who's a friend of mine was like, no Mike.
Starting point is 01:02:41 I don't like Mike. So I traded him a Mike Vic for a Raiders player. I don't even know who it was. Is it a Mari Cooper Raiders? I already have that one. It was like a Josh Jacobs maybe, and he may not even be with the Raiders, but I was going to give it to DJ, Gassau, who's a huge. huge Raiders fan. Okay. But would you like the jersey even if he leaves a team? Is Josh Jacobs not a raider anymore? Well, he's gonna be a free agent. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:04 But I'm saying is it worth more if they're on a different team in your mind or is it like, oh, he's not even playing for them anymore? Depends how long he's there. Like not to wear to show. Oh. Like would DJ be like, oh, man, he's not on the team anymore. Oh, Josh Jacobs was a good player for the Raiders for a few years. Okay, well, I haven't decided I also have a Myers tied in Jersey from the Raiders. Okay, you can put that over there. That's Mike Vic. All right.
Starting point is 01:03:30 Here is another one of those just breakets where it's either a football or a... What are they called? Jersey? No, it's never a jersey. It's either a football, a cleat. I've never got a cleat. Oh, I've never seen a cleat. Or it is a funco.
Starting point is 01:03:48 Which are cool. The funcos, I oddly think are really cool because they sign them. I have two. I told you I have Terry McLauron, which I have at the studio, and then I have Stilton. They're not a player. Diggs, Buffalo Diggs. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:04 Stefan Diggs. Bunko. First of all, oh, I want a bunch of, oh, this is when I hit a card break. Oh, those are cards in there? Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. That's a Joe Montana sign card. What I just saw was crazy.
Starting point is 01:04:16 Okay, I didn't even know that's what that was. Oh, my goodness. And it just fell out of the box. Be careful with that stuff, man. Well, it's in a plastic case. It doesn't matter. I don't know what this. That looks like a shoe box.
Starting point is 01:04:27 Oh, I know what this is. Careful with Larry Bird. Oh my god. Bro, easy. Let me tell you what this is. I remember winning this and going, so it's not any of these. This is not a funco. This is not a cleat.
Starting point is 01:04:38 This is not a football. It's the only time I've seen it, not one of the three. So is this, hold on. I want to pull it out so you guys can't see. Don't. Okay, I'm no, don't look, guys. I mean, you can look, don't look. I want to try to get it where you can't see until I show it.
Starting point is 01:04:52 Don't look. Don't look. Don't look. So, Mike. Turn around. Because I don't think it's a funco. It's a action figure. So here's what it is.
Starting point is 01:05:00 G.I. Joe. It's a Barry Sanders signed NFL action figure. Oh, that's cool. Barry Sanders, obviously from the Lions. NFL action. Do you remember these, Kevin? Yeah. Is that what it's called?
Starting point is 01:05:12 The NFL action, I think that's what you said, right? I just said NFL action figure. Oh, forget then. Might be wrong. But yeah, I remember those. It's called the Legacy Series. But it's Barry Sanders, and he signed it. That's freaking cool, man.
Starting point is 01:05:27 Freaking Barry Sanders. That's awesome. Gosh, my kids aren't even going to love this stuff. Yeah, they would love it, huh? Thanks, man. Dang. You remember winning that?
Starting point is 01:05:37 It's like a he man. I remember being like, oh, my God. Dude, that's awesome. Yeah, that's really, really cool. Okay. Yeah, we get up with that. Okay, okay, hold on. Gently, gently, Eddie.
Starting point is 01:05:47 We'll get to the cards in a second. This one here is in football. I wonder who this one is. Is I don't... As you can... Oh. Is it big?
Starting point is 01:06:02 This is the best football I've ever got. Oh, really? I forgot. So I told you there are two kinds of footballs they do. There's the white ones, which are cool. But this is better than a white one. It's a game ball. Now, not that it's been played with, but it's a game ball that exactly they use so they wrap it in cellophane.
Starting point is 01:06:17 So I'm just going to show you the game ball. So it's a literal NFL ball. Dang. That's so cool. And so it's all brown or whatever. Uh-huh. Who's on that? It's Brett Farve.
Starting point is 01:06:26 Oh, wow. It's a Brent Farfav game ball. That's amazing. So, yeah, those are. It's crazy. That's really, really cool. Yeah. Oh, so.
Starting point is 01:06:39 A combo with that in the Jersey. It's a. I feel like Brett Farv needed some cash. You know? He got in a little trouble probably. Funraising. Mike, if you look that up, I think that's like 500, 600 bucks. I think that Brett Farve signed NFL ball, not the white one.
Starting point is 01:06:57 It's called a Duke football That's cool because that's the Duke The original NFL Duke Brett Farv signed Oh that's what that is Brett Farv signed Duke football I could be wrong But here's some more cards
Starting point is 01:07:09 Like like ones it Or not Joe Montana Dude I got to see that Let's get that card out What you got? Dang 800 bucks Really? For the Farv Duke ball
Starting point is 01:07:19 That's awesome You need a cash Isn't that crazy Everything? Yeah What? Say your thing No everything is just like
Starting point is 01:07:27 it's like you get disappointed when you have Josh Jacobs No exactly like a Cook Buffalo James Cook Yeah it's like James Cook That's a really cool We can start a card shop Signed Joe Montana
Starting point is 01:07:40 Oh my goodness Dude that is amazing That is so cool And I can authenticate this I have his autographs Your favorite player isn't it I mean yeah And I was a kid
Starting point is 01:07:48 Signed George Pickens That's cool Exotic This one's really cool It's a signed Anthony Richardson Florida Oh, that's awesome
Starting point is 01:07:57 playing college in Florida. Sign card, rookie card. There are soccer players. Does somebody name K-A-Y-K-Y-K-Y signed? I don't know if K-K-K-E-K-E's any good? I don't know. K-K-A-Y.
Starting point is 01:08:09 K-A-Y-K-Y-K-Y. Dante Moore, UCLA. Oh, is it Oregon? Now he's at Oregon. Okay, so these are all autographs? All autographs. It's another Puka Nakua.
Starting point is 01:08:21 Puka Nakua. Rookie Kua. Rookie Kua. Who cares? Brendan Rice, signed. Stetson Bennett. Yeah, I got one of those over there. Not signed. And then I have soccer. Oh, here's another Puka sign card. Which is cool. It's in the BYU.
Starting point is 01:08:37 Oh, yeah, sure is. Cool. Who's KK? A Brazilian soccer player. Any good? Thank you, you, he knew her. Well, I got his autograph. 20 years old. Carlos Borges. I don't know. Anyway, the Joe Montana one's cool. Heck me, I don't know how much is work. So cool, dude.
Starting point is 01:08:50 That's cool. Okay. And then, fine. He was the goat before the goat. Well, now I think like Unitas was like the Go before the Go before the Go before the goat. No, no, no, Unitas would be the goat before the goat before the goat. Yeah, so I said, the Go before the goat. United. Okay. Johnny Unitas.
Starting point is 01:09:08 Finally, this is a big box. Good old Johnny. What's funny is. What's in there? Well, it's not a whole, is it a football player? It's Warren Moon. It's a body part. It's his arm.
Starting point is 01:09:21 He signed it. And it dropped it off. This arm through 400 touchdowns. I did pee again. I thought Kevin opened that for you. He did a little bit. Kevin. Eddie.
Starting point is 01:09:34 Here. I mean, I'll get you. So this is a big box and then I finally understood where it came from. And I wouldn't have brought it down here. It's not a collectible.
Starting point is 01:09:42 But I think, there may be something in here for you. Oh. I'm not sure. I know there's something here for me. Is this the Dak Prescott jersey? Oh, it's in my house. Joe Thaisman looks like.
Starting point is 01:09:54 The duck. George is actually over there. Is it? I'll make sure and grab that on the way out. Big box. A little situation. Well, there's a lot of stuff in that box. Yeah, so Florida State sent us some more stuff.
Starting point is 01:10:12 There it is, Reid. Oh, that's for me. It's not all for you. The last time you did this, you stole everybody's stuff. What? You stole all Eddie's stuff. Okay, this is... This is on my kids stuff.
Starting point is 01:10:23 This is extra large, so this is going to be for Reed. That's Reid. There you go, Reid. Good job, Reid. Make sure it's all. It's all extra large. Is there a beanie in there for a read? There is.
Starting point is 01:10:32 Okay, Reid, here you go. Perfect for summer. Oh, thanks. Got your beanie and your Florida State bag. Congrats, Reed. Were you expecting something for your kids in this bag? No. Okay.
Starting point is 01:10:43 Two things. I've got a box. I don't know what this is for. It's another Florida State backpack. This size is extra large. Kevin, did you get stuff? No. Oh, it's got to be for Kevin.
Starting point is 01:10:58 I got some. I don't do it. Wait, did they give you stuff? No. Oh. You were extra large? I had, I got a medium. shirt that was it which I ain't gonna fit in. Here you go. We got extra large now. All right. Eddie, I guess you don't have anything.
Starting point is 01:11:07 You have another... No, no, cool. Awesome. I knew there was stuff coming. I didn't know this. So we went and did too much access. They sent us stuff for the guys. Yeah, the bag is sick. Yeah, the backpack's awesome. Now this, I don't know what it is, but I was told it's fun. It's fun. It's fun. It's fun. It's fun. It's fun. Oh. I like to have it open on two sides. It's gonna fall right out. Okay. Well, let's have some fun. Let's open it up. Okay, it's paper. It's a... Oh. What is like just like a pillar paper? Oh, this is funny. Okay, don't look. Oh my gosh. Don't look, boys. I like to do it.
Starting point is 01:11:42 Don't look. Turn around. So it's a Florida State basketball. Okay, you can look. So I had, I just want to show you in a minute. I had, and Eddie had, I think I had red. You had yellow? Yeah, yellow.
Starting point is 01:11:53 Gold. They're colors. And it was like, hey, we made another jersey for you. We sent it here. And so this one is Florida State number 69. That's good. got to be your official number now. How funny.
Starting point is 01:12:06 Every team you play for. That's awesome. That's awesome. Hey, that is fun. That is very fun. That is fun. Can you sign it and sell it with your memorabilia? I could, but it may lose value.
Starting point is 01:12:20 69. Okay, so. That's awesome. Interesting show. You're going to need a new room. Well, all these boxes, too. I'll put it in, like, the kitchen stuff, and then I'll... I think Kevin's trying to say, like, he can take some...
