Starting point is 00:00:24 Each week, we talk to someone in show business and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us. Everyone has a good time, and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, Adam Scott, Danny McBride, Ben Stillard, and a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I survived nine months in captivity, and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart, and these are the Survivor Files.
Starting point is 00:00:59 Every week, I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable, abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. These are stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to The Survivor Files with Elizabeth Smart on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I chose option B. I'm Julie Pinero and I travel by myself
Starting point is 00:01:35 because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility. Listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome to the show, Blow Ready. Where do you want to start?
Starting point is 00:02:18 Do you want to know what I spent the money on to name at Arkansas? Yes. Did it get approved? Yeah. Did the wire go through? The money went through. You don't need any help?
Starting point is 00:02:28 I'll tell you in a minute. I'll tell you a minute. South Alabama football is doing something interesting. If you get on and you play college football 27, which I didn't buy because I haven't played at all. You haven't played anything. I crushed 26. But if you get on and you play with South Alabama as your dynasty and you win the national
Starting point is 00:02:51 championship or you win the conference, you win different things, the school gives you things. Oh, that's cool. Yeah. But is there a chance to win, or are they so bad that you can't win? You play with the worst team. That's what I would do. So if you're good, you get the worst team and you rebuild them.
Starting point is 00:03:05 Oh, okay. And so I wonder if it's in like the hardest mode because that's difficult. But so you submit a photo of yourself and your championship team along with the screenshot of the championship game and one grand prize winner, two secondary winners. We randomly selected. But then also if you just win, you also get like tickets. That's awesome. If you just do it.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Because they want people with the games. so they're going to give people tickets, but the grand prize is you stay at the team hotel with one guest, you ride in the game day, they call it the prowl. I guess that's maybe all the buses together.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Is that like with the players? Maybe, possibly. You get a pregame sideline pass, the tunnel experience, you get a custom South Alabama football jersey, and then there's other stuff too. I think it's fun how people are creating these, but also what college football does
Starting point is 00:03:51 is the more you play with the team, the more money to score. gets as well. Oh, that's right. So they want that. They want that. Yeah, they want both of those. That's cool. So I thought like a royalties, I guess, right? Okay. That'd be like downloads. That'd be the closest thing to it. Yeah, like songs. If you listen to a song, a streaming song, they'll get the royalties from it. If you keep playing with them, the schools get the royalties from the game. That's crazy. Mm-hmm. So yeah, that's what's up. I thought that was kind of
Starting point is 00:04:15 interesting. All right. Tom Brady wears leather pants now. Oh, boy. That's your quarterback, dude. He's your guy. Hey, I go back to Tiger Woods, you guys, okay? Our conversation we had. I saw that picture and I immediately outlined like, what the heck is this? Well, he says he's become a fan of leather pants since after walking in Gucci's fashion show in May. And he's also going to do more modeling.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Man, he's really hurting the brand. You know what, good for him? He's having fun, right? We get one life to live, chase it, live it, love it. Kind of hurting the brand a little bit though. Do you think any of his like Julian Edelman and Grant calling him like, what are you doing?
Starting point is 00:04:55 No, because I think he was, the alpha. That's true. And outwardly, they're probably supporting them, but whenever he's not around, they're talking to each other, they're like, what a Tom doing? For example, Eddie, if Bobby was like doing, I don't know, something like this, like, totally. Like growing
Starting point is 00:05:10 my hair out stupidly? No, no, no, no, no. He's doing it right now, dude. No, where, I guess, yeah. I mean, modern for GQ is something, but Eddie, would you call Bobby? Gucci. Oh, that's it was. Yeah, the show. Gucci. Yeah. Would you call him? Be like, Bobby, like, you're like, you're all right, man? Like leather pants? No.
Starting point is 00:05:26 No, because it would have to be something like really crazy. Like everything Tom has done is shocking only because we wouldn't expect Tom Brady to do that stuff. But that's because we had a narrative in our head about Tom Brady. Tom Brady may have always been like this. And now that he's not married and he can do whatever he wants, like we're seeing it all. I feel like he's living his 20s in his 40s. I feel like he finally has some time and space and money. That's it.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Because he has had money for a long time, but not a lot of time because he's been dedicated. Working. Not a lot of space. Yeah. And so now he's being the real him. But sometimes you forget like you still have your kids. You know what I mean? His kids are older though.
Starting point is 00:06:12 Your kids are still going to see this. Yeah. Everything. Yes. But I don't think what he's doing is bad. It just is not what we feel has represented Tom Brady for so long, which is Right, right. Be quiet, show up, do your job and be the absolute best at it.
Starting point is 00:06:25 and then do it again. I miss that, Tom. I know, but you know, like, whenever I decide to eat, like, 100 hot dogs or whatever, I forget that I have kids. Yeah, but we don't hold you to a standard other than the guy that eats 100 hot dogs. Correct. Like, that is kind of who you are already. Right, but then the kids will watch that video in, like, a couple months and be like,
Starting point is 00:06:43 Dad, what are you doing? Like, why would you try to eat 100 hot dogs, you know? And then, like, Tom, I think Tom's forgetting, like, all right, my kids are going to see all this. But he's not doing anything bad. He's wearing leather pants, so he looks stupid. The leather pants. thing. But maybe making out with influencers is the weird
Starting point is 00:06:59 part of it. Yeah. But other than that, I don't know that he's doing anything bad. It's just weird as opposed to who we feel like he is. Who we thought he was. But we're getting so far removed from that person. Yeah. Because the Patriots, I mean, this is what, six, seven years ago now. Where it's like, we've talked about this before, but it's a whole
Starting point is 00:07:15 another generation now that are, that's only going to know Tom Brady for this. Do you think if he keeps getting douche, I'm just going to say douchier? If he continues to get Too Shear and do sheer, do shear. Do we remove the goat title? No, he's still the greatest.
Starting point is 00:07:30 Okay. Like, nothing can ruin that. If he, Bill Cosby. Well, not that. So I'm not going to say nothing. Okay. But even then you'd go, man, he was the greatest quarterback ever, but what a terrible dude.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Yeah. But he'd still be the greatest quarterback ever. He kind of can't take away his championships. Unless you find out he cheated, and you already know he cheated, and you still don't care. Allegedly. Oh, man, that ball was like a sponge. He did cheat.
Starting point is 00:07:57 Allegedly. No, no, no, no. He did. He even got suspended. Yes. That ball was soft. Yeah, they were coming after him. Yeah, no, no, he got caught.
Starting point is 00:08:10 Yeah, he cheated. Conspiracy against Tom Brady. No, not that. Okay. The PGA championship this weekend? Is it? What? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:08:19 I'm looking at odds. It's not this weekend. I never know when the majors are. I don't think it's... I never know when the majors are. This way. weekend. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Yeah, it is. The finale of the 2026 PGA Tour season. This is the season. Going into the PGA Tour Championship, these are the golfers. Am I crazy? What the crap? No, man, we already had the PGA Championship, the major. I think this is just the end of the season, which is weird anyway.
Starting point is 00:08:43 Going into the PGA Tour Championship, these are the golfers. The sports books have the best shot to take home the title. Huh. You're golf, man. No, no, but what happens in, because I, you're right. I'm golf guy, but whenever football comes around, I stop watching golf. I can be wrong. What do you see, Mike?
Starting point is 00:09:00 I'm looking it up. I see what you're seeing. There's the August 27th. It's the end of the season, right? This is where all the points matter and whoever has the most points wins. It's kind of like NASCAR. This says all season begins. The majors have concluded.
Starting point is 00:09:15 Yeah, the majors are done. We've played all four of them. We've. How'd you do, Eddie? Pretty good. Pretty good. Sheffler. Number one, world number one.
Starting point is 00:09:27 Plus 3.45 to win. I don't know. I just thought there's a big major coming out. It's just the end of the season. But you know what's weird about Schaeffler? It's so weird that he's so good. So, so, so good. But then sometimes he can just crap the bed.
Starting point is 00:09:46 You know? And just like... But isn't that golf? Yeah, but Tiger wasn't like that. Tiger wouldn't like that. Tiger would... I think you have a revisionist history of Tiger. Really?
Starting point is 00:09:58 I mean, I don't know how many majors he lost when he was leading, probably not many. But you're talking about just majors? No, no, just tournaments. Because, I mean, even the FedEx Cup, I think the FedEx Cup is the one he won. And Sheffler played great. He won by, I think, I don't know, eight strokes or something, just dominated. And then this last weekend, I mean, he barely made the cut. Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:10:21 Tiger didn't miss cuts, but I think you have a revisionist history. of Tiger being a superhero and winning every tournament ever. Yeah, and dominating everyone. Yeah, because that wasn't the case. But he did say that he had some blisters or he has hand, hand, foot, and mouth or something, and that it was hurting to grip the clubs, which is crazy. Isn't that like super contagious?
Starting point is 00:10:40 It's like a cow disease. Hand foot and mouth? Yeah, like a cattle get or something. Right. The top 20 jerseys NFL. Oh, man. We got 20 here. If you missed three times, you're out.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Kevin, you got the first pick. Drake May. And number two, Drake May. Number two? Number two? Yeah, Eddie, you're up. Great. Patrick Mahomes.
Starting point is 00:11:08 Number six, Patrick Mahomes. Don't be Google anything. I don't know why you're on your computer. No, I'm trying to why you're typing on your computer. You don't get to time on your computer while you play games. So make sure I don't say them again. Get your hands off. All right.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Go ahead. Cheater. Former cowboy. Micah Parsons. Number 10, Micah Parsons. Dang. Really? Okay. Jackson, Smith, and Jigba. Four. Jackson Smith and Jigba. That's a good one, dude. Yeah, Joe Burrow. That's the one they steal.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Didn't make the top 20. Wow. One X family feud style for Kevin. Eddie. We've only got four players off this list. Top 20. Lamar Jackson. Lamar Jackson. Number 19. Barely made it.
Starting point is 00:12:09 It's tough, huh, when you can't use a computer? It's a lot tougher. All the sudden? Shut up. He takes his fingers off the keys. He can't remember anything. He didn't remember. He didn't remember.
Starting point is 00:12:18 A little bit. I totally forgot. Come on, Tiger. Jemir Gibbs. That's a good one. 16. Woo. He scared me.
Starting point is 00:12:30 C.D. Oh my gosh X That's crazy One X each Kevin I'm going to Stick with the Lions
Starting point is 00:12:47 And go Ammonra St. Brown 17 Ommonrah St. Brown Ooh This is a good one because not only Sports fans are buying this one Swifties are mine this one
Starting point is 00:13:00 Kill a Trave He's on there Nope He's got to be on there Okay let me check again Yeah one more time Oh Nope
Starting point is 00:13:12 That's still not on there That's two strikes That's two strikes Eddie Oh my god Guys you guys you guys You guys only have six of the top 20 I know it's harder than you think man I think we're uh yeah
Starting point is 00:13:21 It's not hard for me I'm looking at him You know them Yeah that helps Yeah I'm gonna go With Miles Garrett Oh Nope New team
Starting point is 00:13:31 No So you're both the two strikes. Wow, we're not doing very good. Eddie, you can lose if you missed this one. I won't. I mean, a cowboy has to be on there. So give me Dak Prescott. Oh, Dan, he's on the list.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Yeah, probably. Got him. Got him. He's on there? Nope. Wow. You lost. Kevin, you want to try to hit another one?
Starting point is 00:13:59 Yeah, Bijon Robinson. No. Oh, my goodness. We suck. Yeah. Jamar Chase. Okay, but you say it like that? Like, oh yeah, easily.
Starting point is 00:14:11 Why didn't you say that? It just came to my head, that's why. You also missed it. He's not on there. Really? Dude. Number one, Josh Allen. Oh, God, we're an idiot.
Starting point is 00:14:20 We're an idiot. We're an idiots. Number two, Drake May, number three, Sequin. Still. Number four, Jackson, Smith, and Jigba. Number five, Jaden Daniels. Jamie Daniels. Who wants that one?
Starting point is 00:14:31 Mahomes at six. Jalen Hertz at seven. Ugh. Caleb Williams at 8 I was surprised you guys didn't guess Caleb Williams Yeah I think that It's easy to say now the strategy
Starting point is 00:14:42 We just go find the big quarterbacks on the big team Yeah because usually it's the quarterbacks Jordan Love at 9 Michael Parsons at 10 Bo Nix at 11 Oh Nick's Christian McCaffrey at 12
Starting point is 00:14:55 Justin Jefferson at 13 Aiden Hutchinson at 14 Ain't another line Yeah just not a lot of defensive guys though There are just a few though T.J. White at 15. Jamar Gibbs and Monrae St. Brown. Brock Purdy at 18.
Starting point is 00:15:09 What? Lamar Jackson at 19 and C.J. Stroud at 20. Nobody's by it. Only in Houston. Over Dach Prescott. What? That's absurd. Who made that list?
Starting point is 00:15:23 It's sales. It's jerseys. Nah. Phanatics? Fanatics? That's where I buy myself. NFL. NFL.
Starting point is 00:15:31 All right. Do you guys want to guess more time what I'm going to buy? and sponsor a name at the University of Arkansas? Yes. I have it. Oh, you go first. The flag. The American flag?
Starting point is 00:15:42 No, no, the yellow flag, penalty flag. Oh, that's fun. And that's a Bobby Bones flag. Interesting. I'm going to guess the headsets. We'll have your name on it. Man, that would be really expensive. I know.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Would it be cool? Every headset? Ooh, are the tablets? Yeah, I think mine will not be seen on TV. Oh, okay, the water bottles. Well, maybe you'd see those on TV. Mine had something to do. What I thought was funny about it was what it was, and it's a place you don't want to go, but there's also kind of an association with my name.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Oh, I was going to say urinal. You don't want to go? Is there a jail at the stadium? No. Bones. Bones. A graveyard? Cemetery?
Starting point is 00:16:32 The cemetery. Where they kill, when people die, they get put there. Wait, there's this. What? No, no. I was not a simit. I was like, what? If someone dies during the game. Bones. Mike probably knows it. I'm going to let them still guess it out.
Starting point is 00:16:46 Is there like a barbecue place? Like a barbecue restaurant, like concession stand? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nah. Bob. Bones. Garbage cans. Trash cans? You don't want to go there. It's in the stadium. It's in the stadium.
Starting point is 00:16:59 You will not see it as a fan. You would have to be a play. player to access it. Oh. Okay, so it's a locker room. Bones. It's got to be a locker room. Or the tent. Inside the tent?
Starting point is 00:17:13 The laundry basket. That would be funny, dude. It's not on the sideline. Like I said. So it would be in the locker room. Well, I wouldn't say it's in the locker room. Equipment room, maybe. What's in the equipment room?
Starting point is 00:17:28 The tunnel. Oh. Bobby Bones. Tunnel. Man, I don't know washer, dryer. I'm thinking laundry still. The bobby bones
Starting point is 00:17:40 a washer and dryer. Why would you even spend money on that? Just think about bones. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Massage table? Dog bones? Mike, what do you think it is?
Starting point is 00:17:55 You get an x-ray machine? The x-ray room. Where players go in and have to get x-ray. I didn't even know they had one in college. Wow. So it'll be... Yeah, they definitely don't want to go there. It'll be the Bobby Bones X-ray Room.
Starting point is 00:18:09 So I bought the naming rights to the... Okay. Where'd that come from? And that's only at... I just thought it's funny. Their stadium, at the stadium. What? Like if they travel, they don't name the...
Starting point is 00:18:19 No, they don't... It's not a mobile... The visitors. No, whatever stadium has their own. Okay. So, but there'll be a big, big plaque with my name on it. It's called the Bobby Bones... X-ray room.
Starting point is 00:18:30 So if we go visit there, can we get X-Rae room? So if we go visit there, can we get X- For free. Maybe a discount. What's, like, what do you get out of that? Nothing. Because no one's going to see that. Yeah, I don't care. Just the players. Yeah, don't care. It'd be funny.
Starting point is 00:18:44 And now, I think it'd be like, Tom, you might have broken something. Let's go to the Bobby Bones X-ray room. That's the hope. My desire is that. Coach, I'm not going to have to go to the Bibone's X-ray room, am I? Mostly they were just like, hey, we need some money. And I like to have stuff named after me now. It's hilarious.
Starting point is 00:19:02 So I said, I'll name the x-ray room after me, and they said, okay, fine. You're crazy, dude. So that's what it is. That's awesome. So when we go to the game, we get to see the room, right? Yeah. That's cool. I mean, if you go to a game.
Starting point is 00:19:16 Which game are we going to go to? You guys are going together? You two? No, all of us. I don't have that planned out. And remember, we're staying at your house. Yeah, I don't have any of that planned out yet. But I'll let you know as soon as we get there.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Okay. So, all right, that's what's up. All right, let's take a break. There's no shortcut for saving time. But saving money is simple. Just combine your car and home insurance with Bel Air Direct and save. Get a quote at bellairdirect.com. When I was 14 years old, I was kidnapped and held captive for nine months. I survived and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart and these are the survivor files. I just remember
Starting point is 00:20:05 This low, taunting voice next to my ear saying, shut up, don't say anything. Every week, I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable. I knew if he woke up, without a doubt, he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed, and I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. But these aren't stories about what's taking. taken from them. There's stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Starting point is 00:20:48 I'm Munga Shat Together and I'm back with a new season of the podcast, Skyline Drive. This time I'm diving into a rabbit hole of peptides, organoids, blood boys, blue zones and brain replacement to try to understand what this longevity obsession is all about. And what it really means to live forever for all of us. I learned about some rad science. I can make a brain for you, and then we can test what draw is the best for your brain, as opposed to his brain. Here are some hard truths.
Starting point is 00:21:22 I would expect Indians to age faster, but I did not expect it to be almost a four-to-five-year acceleration. And get myself into a world of trouble. I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work. To make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:21:40 Listen to Skyline Drive How to Live Forever on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I chose option B. I'm Julie Pinero, and I travel by myself because it's a lot. a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word solita, trading the pity for possibility.
Starting point is 00:22:16 Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people, and they were like, you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip, I hope you listen to Solita on the I-Hart Radio app,
Starting point is 00:22:44 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right, Kevin, what do you have for us? All right, I saw this show that's coming out, produced by Kim Kardashian, and it's called Team Moms. T-E-A-M-M-Moms, baseball gets cast reveal and premiere date on Paramount Plus, right? That was a headline. And basically what it is, it's a reality show of these moms that are baseball moms of these teenagers in high school.
Starting point is 00:23:13 But the show is following these moms around. And obviously there's going to be a lot of drama in it, I'm sure. For sure. Kind of like what's the OC moms show, one of those. But it's following these baseball moms around. So I was wondering, you know, your kids are all in sports. Would you ever do a dad version of this? Like would I be part of it?
Starting point is 00:23:34 Yes. Like mic'd be a person on the show? Yeah. No. Never? No. Dude, I'm so chill. I'm one of the chillest dad, sports dads ever.
Starting point is 00:23:47 Like, I don't yell. I mean, basketball sometimes, dude. Basketball sometimes I yell just mainly at my kid, though. My thing is I'm always kind of like, if I see my kid running half ass, I'm the one that's like, hey, what are you doing? Let's go. Even though you're not coaching? Yeah, correct. But other than that, I don't get mad at anything else.
Starting point is 00:24:10 Yeah, but these are following the mom. So you would be miced up over there and you'd be the one yelling, right? Right, and I'm telling you, that's not, I'm not a yeller. But you are at your own kid? At my own kid. But then there's a moment when I realize that I'm the only one yelling and I'm yelling louder than I thought I was. So I just kind of chill. Does your wife ever be like, hey, can you stop?
Starting point is 00:24:32 Yeah. Can you pipe down a little bit? Does anybody ever say anything to you other than your wife? Just my wife. Dang. No, dude, because you can hear these other people yelling. And I'm telling you, dads don't realize, sometimes moms, they don't realize how loud they are. Like to you as the parent, it's almost like you're just at home trying to tell your kid to do something.
Starting point is 00:24:57 But you feel like they can't hear you unless you yell. So you are yelling so freaking loud. But I'm telling you, dude, this thing that Kim Kay is doing, I had this idea to do with AAU basketball parents because they're brutal. You're right. Actually, yeah, because you were talking about the fights. Yes, dude, there's a fight in AAU basketball. There is a fight between either the parents, the parents and a ref, or two kids fighting. And I'm talking any age.
Starting point is 00:25:27 You want, dude, name the age. Seven-year-olds, there are kids fighting on the court. So you think that would be a good show, though? Yes. Like that's what we need to come up with. Yeah. And you know with this Kim's show, it's going to be good. Because, dude, parents are out of control.
Starting point is 00:25:43 Yeah. And these moms, they want the drama. Like, they're on this show because they want to be dramatic. They want to get the clips, the highlights, all that stuff. And reality TV is at an all-time high right now. So you know these moms are going to be thriving in this environment. Dude, coming to think of it, I remember some basketball games where moms were getting into it. With each other.
Starting point is 00:26:04 With each other? Yeah. Oh yeah, yeah. And the dads had to be like, hey, hey, hey, hey, you all relax. You all chill a little bit. Like, relax. Because these moms, dude, are territorial with their kids. So when their kids fight, the moms get upset with each other.
Starting point is 00:26:21 Do you feel, well, I guess you have all boys, but have you ever seen it where, like, are moms more territorial with their little boys or girls? Have you ever noticed that? Or no, you've only seen the boys aspect, I guess, huh? I've never seen, I've never gone to a girls game. Because I'm just interested, like, are guys more territorial with their daughters? And then mom's more territorial of their sons, maybe? Did I tell you about the time when my son was having a basketball practice at a little
Starting point is 00:26:44 side gym at a school? And he's like, Dad, it's going to be an hour and a half. Like, if you want to go somewhere you can or if you want to wait. And then I saw they were having a basketball game next door at the main gym. And I was like, I might as well just go to the game and watch the basketball. And it ended up being girls basketball. And I was the only, like, dad that didn't have a kid in the game. So you were a creep?
Starting point is 00:27:06 Yes. And I'm like, oh, dude, so I saw another dad. And I told him, like, hey, yeah, man, I'm just waiting for, you know, my son to get out of his practice. I didn't have anything else to do. I'm just the only guy just sitting here watching girls play basketball. I swear I'm not weird. But I've never really gone to a kid's girl game of any sort. So I don't know.
Starting point is 00:27:26 They have that in WNBA now more than anything I guess. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I thought of that when I saw that story. I was like, I wonder if Eddie would ever do this. But I know that you've seen it. So maybe one day we can make a show like that. Dude, I'm telling you, man, we would make a great documentary if we did AAU basketball. Because there's something about these parents that think, and I'm telling you, every parent in there thinks that their kid has a chance to be the next LeBron.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Dang. And then I feel bad for the kids. Yeah, dude, because you know what? They end up hating it. Yeah. They end up hating it. And I remember my son too, when my son experienced the first fight at the game. And it was like, I think his first fight were two parents yelling at each other.
Starting point is 00:28:09 He like froze and didn't want to keep playing the game. You know, and then there'd be a kid on the court crying, you know, because his mom's fighting. Like traumatizing, huh? Traumatizing, dude. I remember one kid yelling and saying, Mom, stop! Mom, stop! Oh, no. I mean, if you're uncomfortable, just like, he,
Starting point is 00:28:29 hearing you talk about it. I can't even imagine being there. I know, dude. And witnessing it. I know. It's crazy. Okay, so what happened with you? You were at a restaurant? What happened? Yeah, so we could have uncomfortable, actually. I was at a restaurant and it was me, my wife and two kids and we were just sitting there eating or dinner, having a good time. And then all of a sudden we hear just like a commotion like oh, oh. And then this lady jumps out of this boot. Hold on, hold on. Time out. Set the scene. What kind of restaurant? A decent restaurant. Like, I wouldn't say high end. Like a chili? No, no, no, no, no. No, better than that, but not like a high-end steakhouse. Okay. I would say in between that. Okay, but it has servers?
Starting point is 00:29:05 Has servers. Yeah, booths, you know, a little dimly lit. You can get a good drink. You can get a steak. You can get a burger. I love it. Yeah. So we are here having a nice dinner and there's families all in there.
Starting point is 00:29:17 And there's this family and this booth off to our left full. There's like probably six or seven of them. And we just hear one of the ladies in the booth start yelling. We look out or we look over. and she starts jumping out of the booth choking. She's like, uh, uh, uh, uh, The one that was choking got up and started moving around. And she was in the middle of the booth.
Starting point is 00:29:39 You know how like when you're like the third person in, you got to have everybody get out. Yeah, yeah. Like she was pushing them. Like, get out of my way. But she couldn't talk because she was choking. Get out of my way. And then she got out and just started choking.
Starting point is 00:29:50 And then her husband, I assume it's her husband, just started smack her on the back, right? And she's choking and choking. And then one of the servers comes over. not ours. Ours is just sitting there watching the whole thing go down. Frozen. Frozen.
Starting point is 00:30:02 Like my son on the basketball court. Exactly. Doesn't know what to do. And we're sitting there like, what the heck is going on? And then another server runs over and she's like, get out of my way. I can do it. I can do it. And the husband's like, no, you get out of my way.
Starting point is 00:30:14 As he's like smacking her on the back. And she's still choking. And she's still choking, dude. Still choking. Just, ugh, ah, ah, ah, and then eventually she was okay. The husband got it out of her. She didn't spit anything out. but she was choking for like a solid probably
Starting point is 00:30:30 it's one of those where it seemed like it was five minutes and it was probably like 30 seconds. Right. You know? Do you know what she was choking on? No, she even said after she's like, I don't know what that was, but something just got caught in my throat.
Starting point is 00:30:42 And the server, it was so funny too, the server that was trying to help after she, you know, got done choking, she looked over at us because she was trying to help
Starting point is 00:30:49 and she seemed like she knew what she was about to do and the husband was just smack in his wife. Hey, like a hard smack? Dude, like I can, here we're probably like 10, 15 feet away and you're just and then, uh, and I'm like, geez, that sounds painful. I don't know why, but I'm picturing a bigger couple.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Honestly, no. Okay. No, you're not wrong for thinking that, though. Yeah. I don't know why, but I pictured some big couple on this dude just like hitting her back hard. No, not a bigger couple, but the other server, dude, she walked, I mean, she ran over there. She's like, get out of the way.
Starting point is 00:31:25 I can do it. I can do it. And she knew, like, she was ready for this. moment. And then as a husband smacking her, she looked over at us, and she just looks at us, shaking her head, like, trying to help, but he won't let me. And thank God the girl or the lady was alright.
Starting point is 00:31:37 Was she turning blue or anything? No, I never got that bad. Okay. Like, I'm not trying to be judgmental, but it seemed a little dramatic, but during the time, like... Stop, dude, she was choking. I know, but during the time, I was like, oh, my gosh. But after I was like, was it really that bad? I don't know. Have you ever been choked?
Starting point is 00:31:54 Oh, whoa. I don't know. I didn't mean that. Have you ever? been choking on food or anything ever? No, not to that extent. Neither have I. Yeah. Like, I don't really choke on things.
Starting point is 00:32:07 I've accidentally, like, had water go down the wrong pipe. Of course. And you feel like you're choking, but I've never choked on a piece of food before. Yeah, me neither. I mean, definitely not to the point where somebody had to give me the hym lick or smack my back. Okay. See, and that's my question. Like, I know the smack in the back.
Starting point is 00:32:24 That's kind of, that's phase one, right? Yeah. Someone's choking. Hit her on the back. Phase two is like, does anyone know the Heimlich? Yeah. Would you know the Heimlich? Would you be able to know what to do?
Starting point is 00:32:39 No, I mean, obviously I didn't because I just didn't, I just... No, it sounds like you were going to do crap. I sat there in my chair and I'm like, what's going on right now? You're still eating your steak? I'm like, can you quiet down over there? Trying to enjoy a meal, man. Yeah, I got my kids here, man. No, I've never seen it.
Starting point is 00:32:57 So I guess that answers the question. I wouldn't know what to do. I mean, right now I can be like, yeah, weren't you supposed to get under the sternum, I think, is what they say, right? With your fingers or your thumbs or something like that. I'll put the whole fist is what I would do. Dude, Heimlich. And you lift up on it.
Starting point is 00:33:13 No, you just push. You just like push in, right? Well, from behind, right? So the thing is, like, we're not training in. Like we're not, I've never, have I taken a high. I'm not sure if I've taken a class because I know when we adopted our kids or when we did foster, when we were foster care, when we were a foster home, we had to do CPR classes. We had to do, I think it was Heimlich, but I don't remember, man. But I feel like I've seen it enough on TV to kind of know what to do.
Starting point is 00:33:49 Yeah, but would you have the confidence you think like in the moment to jump up and go do it? after phase one didn't work. Like if I'm seeing dude slap her back over and over and it's not working and it was just us in there, yeah, I'd jump in. I would do it. You think you would? I think I would. I'm a lifeguard, dude. That is true.
Starting point is 00:34:12 That is true. But what if you did it, I'm not saying they passed away, but what if you did it and it didn't work? Like, how bad would you feel? Terrible. But how bad would you feel if you didn't do anything and they passed away? Yeah, pretty bad. At least I tried. All right, hero.
Starting point is 00:34:26 But see, that's what's... Hey man, look, I'm not a hero, dude. I'm not calling myself a hero. But you know what, though? Dude, people have to worry about that, though. Like, if you're an innocent bystander and somebody is choking and you decide to go in there and help and say you made the wrong decision, you didn't do the hemelick right, or you accidentally fisted the wrong part,
Starting point is 00:34:50 you would get in trouble. Dude, you could get in trouble. you could get sued? Right. And all you were trying to do was help. Right. That's what I'm saying. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:35:00 I hate that part of the law. And I hate that that pops in her head. Because that's not the human way to think. Exactly. Like human way to think is somebody needs my help, I'm going to jump in and help. Yeah, I thought about it after. I was like, should I have helped? And I was like, well, somebody tried to help and that guy was like, get out of my way.
Starting point is 00:35:17 What did your wife say? Like, go help? Nothing? No, no. We all kind of just sat there like, what is she actually choking? I can't really tell if she's like, legit. choking because the way that he was smacking her, man. I was like, I feel like he's taking some anger out or something.
Starting point is 00:35:29 Bro, did you video it? No, no. Did you think about video it? Honestly, I didn't. I didn't cross your mind. I'm happy about that. At least I didn't pull up my phone and be that guy and do nothing but watch somebody choking video it.
Starting point is 00:35:42 Or do it like incognito, you know, where it's on. Under the table. I have my kids hold it. Because, dude, that is a viral video. Yeah. That right there is guaranteed viral. Yeah, you're right. I think I was in more shock than anything else.
Starting point is 00:35:56 Yeah. But yeah, she's all good, so glad we got through it next time I know. That's great. No, I'm glad. I'm glad to know, too, how you would react. Yeah, but if you're choking, I got you, dude. Thank you, man. I appreciate that. And I won't sue you.
Starting point is 00:36:08 How's that? That's thoughtful of you. Dude, so what do you think about this? So my kids came home, I don't know, like a couple weeks ago, and they were doing like some kind of practice at their school. Their school, they have a really cool facility. Like they have an indoor football facility. They have a weight room that's huge, like huge weight room.
Starting point is 00:36:29 People constantly go, like Michael Chandler, the MMA fighter. He's worked out there before. I don't know why maybe he lives close to it or whatever, but it's kind of open to whoever wants to use it. In a weird way, it's like an unspoken rule. If you are a legit athlete, we know who you are, you can use it. Okay. And so they came home to the day and they said they saw,
Starting point is 00:36:51 is it Tai J. Spears? Yeah, Tyjee, yeah. Who's like running back for the Titans. Yep. And then they also saw A.J. Brown working out in there. What? Yeah. With him or separately? No, no, no. I think them two were working out together.
Starting point is 00:37:11 What? But the word gets out like, hey, like, AJ Brown's here. Spears is here from the Titans. And then he said to that they were working out. and they were like lifting weights or whatever and then they went out to the field and were running routes with their helmets on. He said so they had their team helmets on.
Starting point is 00:37:33 So that's they're like, that's how we knew who they were. So my question to them was like, did you go talk to them? Yeah. And they were like, no, we were so scared. Did they want to you though? Of course. And dude, you know, and I'm thinking, man, like, dude, you know who went to McAllen High School when I was,
Starting point is 00:37:50 you know, growing up. No one. No one. I mean, dude, Jay Novichick went to the sports clips. That's as close as you got. The tight end for the Cowboys and like you had to stand in line for three hours to maybe meet him.
Starting point is 00:38:06 Dang. And these dudes are growing up with like MMA fighters. NFL receiver, one of the best receivers. Yeah. Like NFL superstars working out in their high school gym. Do they find it as a big deal? Because I'm trying to think from their perspective,
Starting point is 00:38:26 they're obviously more exposed to it these days than you or even I was at their age. You know, like you see these athletes more, I guess, on your phone or whatever it might be. So do you think there's any kind of jaded to them? That's a good point. No, because even if you saw them on their phone, it's different than being able to see them in person all the time.
Starting point is 00:38:44 It really is. You know what I mean? Like, I don't know about you in California. Like, did you have celebs that you saw all the time? because in South Texas, dude, we saw no one. Tone Loke, you know what Tone Loke is? No. Wow, thank you.
Starting point is 00:38:57 Oh, yeah, yeah, okay. He came down. It was the biggest thing that everyone talked about for two years, dude. Tone Loke coming down to play a show. Yeah, no. I mean, even in L.A. Like, L.A. is not like Nashville, dude. Nashville, you see all kinds of people.
Starting point is 00:39:12 People that you wouldn't even think you would see here. Yeah. Dang, I'm jealous. I know, man. And, like, to me, if I saw back in the, Dave, it would have been like Warren Moon, you know? Steve Largent. Jerry Rice.
Starting point is 00:39:28 Dude, you would have thought Steve Largent was just some random white guy. Probably. But you know what I mean, dude? If he was just throwing the ball, like, at our high school field, I would have flipped out. Did they say, like, did anybody go up to him? Yeah, he said people were talking to him. No problem. Especially as a kid.
Starting point is 00:39:45 Like, you can go up to him as a kid. That's what I said. You know, like, it'd be weird if you and I went out to him, be like, oh, what I'm up, guys. And then you know what my son hit me with? Hey, dad, do you think, do they know you? Shut up. No. No, they don't know me. You should have said yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, go up there and say, hey, my dad's Eddie. Yeah, you ever listen to Bobby Bone Show? 25 whistles? That's my dad. Yeah, you want to come on sometime? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know that guy. That's awesome. Yeah, dude, crazy. They live a different life than we did, man. Yeah. It's not going to be the last time,
Starting point is 00:40:14 though. So tell them next time they need to say something. Yeah, autograph. Exactly. He said, man, if I would have known, I would have gotten a card and taken it. Yeah, a little awkward, dude. That's your son. Yeah. All right, you got that music? Yeah, let's hit it.
Starting point is 00:40:27 Let's get out of here. Oh, oh, I'm going to hit you with a lot. The other night, so MMA, Dana White Contender Series. You heard of this? No. So it's like, it's UFC. But this is like the, basically people are fighting for UFC contracts. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:49 Okay. And so it's only like five nights on a random Tuesday, five fights on a random Tuesday, but it's MMA, it's UFC, and I bet on it, dude, I could not freaking lose. Wait, do you know about these fighters? No, dude, no, no. You're just blind gambling? Blind, they come out walking out. This guy looks like he can kick that dude's butt. Shut up.
Starting point is 00:41:09 Yeah. That's awesome. Dude, there was this one girl, the last fight. She was a plus 2,200 underdog. and you bet on her. Do you know what that means? Yeah. Plus 2200 underdog.
Starting point is 00:41:24 And I was like, I'll put a dollar on her. She won! Shut up! She freaking won! 22 bucks? Yeah, dude! I spent $1 or win $22. The whole night I won $50.
Starting point is 00:41:34 Out of boy. It was a crazy night, dude. I love it. And you know what? It got me pumped for football, baby. That's right. It's coming, man. I'm ready.
Starting point is 00:41:42 What's this game? Is this game in Ireland? Which one? The TCU Oh, is it? I think it's an Ireland game, dude. When we talked about that, we didn't know. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:41:55 A UNCTC, right? Yeah. Yeah, you're right. In Dublin. In Dublin. Yeah, yeah. Try it one more time. All right.
Starting point is 00:42:09 That's it. You good, Kevin? Yeah, I think I got the wrong song play, but it's all good. I noticed that. I was like, I don't know what this is. Really? It works. Thank you guys.
