I have a lot of stuff to say because I feel like we had so many days of football and I kept notes the whole time and it's been like a month. I feel like the thing I'm talking about that we're talking about like a month blow the whistle

I got to. Okay first how much fun would it have been to pepper spray the other team's players so much fun now look

I got a lot to say about the Ohio State Michigan game but imagine that you are a police officer and you're an Ohio State fan police officer because I'm imagining that if you're a police officer

from Ohio at the Ohio State game you're probably sad that you lost the game that has a terrible loss. Imagine the cathartic release when you got to pepper spray Michigan players. You know they were like uh, rivalry's real. Right in their face.

So I got a lot of say. But first of all, those cops, and I know they're being investigated, things are under investigation, nothing's going to happen. You can't pepper spray someone messing with your logo? Yeah, you can. No, you can.

Oh. Now, they might have pepper sprayed finger quotes because things were getting out of hand and they worried about someone being in danger but all I was thinking was you know those Ohio State Police officers freaking love pepper spray and Michigan players that's first part of that the second part of that is it's not even about flag planning it's about

there is not a worse look than losing a game and then getting into a fight on the field and that happened many times not even just the flags I saw Arkansas do that and that's my team I saw Arkansas try to fight after the game against Missouri. If you lose, you lost. Get off the field. Losers.

Now that could be any team any year. But you lost. There is not a more I'm sad and insecure than fighting somebody after you just lost the fight on the field. That's a terrible look. So don't fight once you lose. You feel like fighting. Get off the field. The flag planning.

hilarious. Now, they're going to have to stop flag planning now. Yeah, for sure. It's over. Here's what I wrote on my Instagram and my Twitter. I wrote, you can't actually get the flag into the ground to stick. So why aren't these people like running out with a nice sand base that they can, in a stand, they can put the flag in and then go. Oh, gently put the flag on there. Yeah, you just take a sand base out. You have somebody who's running the flag out. And behind them, you run out a sand base that's in like a concrete contraption. You sit that down. Then you put the flag in it and then you protect it

because it ain't going in the field oh is that the whole point them actually sticking a dagger into your logo well that's the idea it's the dagger in

but if you get it to stand that would be awesome that would be nice and I think Baker Mayfield showed us it ain't gonna stick those fields are not for things

to stick in so here are the three things number one it must have felt good to pepper spray a Michigan player because you know they were like

we really need to pepper spray this Everybody's got pads done. Because you didn't hear any Ohio State players like, oh, my eyes. No, no, no. Yeah, all of Michigan guys.

Number two, if you lose and you fight, you're just a big titty baby. Titty baby. Yeah, get off the field. Never heard that before. Me neither. And I'm saying this as we lost Arkansas.

My team lost, and we tried to fight Missouri. You lost. What are you going to do? Win that one? That one doesn't count. And you may get suspended in the game. So don't fight after you lose.

And you feel like fighting and just get off the field because you're going to look like even more of a chump. Do you put that on the coach at all? I put that on the culture. Okay. And number three, if you're going to plan a flag, you can go to like Home Depot

and get a flag holder. You just have two people carry it out. One carries a flag. One carries out the weighted base flag holder. Sure, you can buy weights. And you just lay it down there. Then you put the flag in it. you stand around it.

The end. I fixed it. That would be legit. Yeah. Clipped that. Oh, I mean, it's clipped already. Clip that. You know those cops are like,

oh, yeah. You guys ever been pepper sprayed? Uh, yeah. No. Not straight on, but like secondarily. Was that because they did that

in your hallways at school? Oh, I know. No, because we did it a bit on the show and I was too close to it. Oh. Yeah. Is that when Mike D got sprayed?

Um, no, I sprayed Mike D and ran. Yeah. Yeah. But he was the one. asking about it. Next up, if you have three losses

and you're trying to get in the college football playoff, don't cry when you don't get in. Now, I will say if there's a three lost team that gets in, good for you. Because one may, but you can't cry

if you lost three times. I'm not saying all three lost teams are absolutely eliminated because we could see what happens where SMU's playing Clemson, right? In the ACC title game?

If Clemson wins, they're not getting in. Clemson wins, they'll get in. If SMU wins, Clemson will not get in. So that can just be one team going in. So there could be a three win, an Alabama, South Carolina, Ole Miss, that they get in. But if you're a three-loss team, shut up.

You lost. You can state your case, but you lost. You don't deserve. to have people feel sorry for you. You lost. Yeah. If you lost three games, you still might get in.

But don't cry like a little titty baby. Yeah, yeah. Yes. When you don't get in, three losses eliminate you from crying. It almost eliminates you from getting in, but it does eliminate you from crying.

So I'd like to say that. Are you directing that towards this certain team? I am not, actually. It's all of them. I was watching on, Twitter, now known as X. And Lane Kiffin had posted a thing going, let's break it down.

We beat this, they beat that. We beat this, they beat that. Strength the schedule. And I'm like, what I like about Lane Kiffin is also what I don't like about Lane Kiffin. Like he doesn't shut up. And it's hilarious and it's annoying

and it's great. It's great for the sport. Brett Bealemut then posts, hey, great logic. Let's use your same logic and just annihilates Lane Kiffin with his logic with a higher strength of schedule

with three losses. So if you have three losses and you don't get in, don't cry. If you have three losses and you do happen to get in, hey, good for you. You're really lucked out. That's number two. Clip that. Oh, it's clipped at. I was like saying clip it.

Makes me feel cool. Next up, Penn State, James Franklin. So they keep scoring at the end of that game. you can always tell when two coaches meeting at midfield have a moment even if it's not super obvious because they hug a little too long. Oh yeah. There are a couple people that hug a little too long.

Creepy uncles and coaches aren't happy with each other. And they were hugging a little too long at the end of that game. And so they go after and James Franklin was super upfront about it. He goes, yeah, we scored. He goes, what did me to do? I put in the threes and the fours,

meaning third string of fourth string players. I'm not supposed to let them play football. That's right. I'm not supposed to let them play. And I thought to myself, I agree. He said, but they've been working hard. They shouldn't get to play football. But that's what the coach from Maryland was having a problem with.

The game ended up 44 to 7. It was not really a game. But yeah, it was third string and fourth string guys who they should get to play. And I can tell you this, as a team that's been had the crap beat out of them, when Ole Miss is beating us 109 to 2. a few weeks ago. I was like, yeah, the second and third string

and fourth three guys, they should. If they can score, they should score. They play. This is their opportunity. You don't want them to score. Stop them.

Yeah. The only time that I would say that is not the case is if you're playing like Baldinger State. Sure. And they're playing eight-man football while you've got all 11.

And that happens sometimes. But I thought the Maryland coach was kind of a wimp. I would say to his face is bigger than I am much bigger. He'd probably hug me for way long and I wouldn't like that because he's strong.

but he was complaining about it and he said it was bull-ess but I thought James Franklin was right on and he was like, what do you want me to do? Because he could have put third and fourth in and just run the ball the whole time but also like your quarterback and you'll let him throw a little bit.

Yeah. I had no problem with them throwing. I liked it. The hugs though are hilarious. How long did they hug? Well, so what started off as a hug turned into kind of a mini headlock. Yeah, you can tell.

I know. And then if you fight out of the mini headlock, then you could tell there was something going on. That's awesome. And what I admired about James Franklin was, he didn't fight out of the mini headlock because he also did not want that to seem like it was more than what it was. You could tell it was after about one Mississippi,

two Mississippi, three Mississippi, mini headlock, four Mississippi, five Mississippi. Then they split off. I could not agree more with James Franklin saying, this is by somebody who gets a score run up on them sometimes too. So it's not like I'm a Bama fan and I'm like, yeah, let them score. But Spurrier said it best

It's your job to stop us Especially if you're playing the ones He said Maryland Still have their ones in And they were playing cover zero So what do you expect them to do Well you could expect them just to run it Eddie know what cover zero is?

Yeah it means you cover no one No Cover zero Good guess That means it's man coverage There's zero people back there in case Like a safety It's full man

Got it Yeah man to man But you can play man to man with like a safety plan zone. So I've seen cover five, what's that? I've seen that on Madden. Cover five is not really a thing. Like a cover, okay, quick breakdown.

Okay. Cover two, this is going to be very generic and rudimentary. Split, split safeties are playing half the fields, right? And you can play a zone cover two. You can play a man cover two. Cover three, you're playing thirds of the field. You can go a cover four. There are different versions of cover four.

So is this just for the dBs, for the safeties in the back? It could be, you can also. drop a linebacker and let's say blitz of safety and you're playing through so roughly multiple variations to it but yeah rough that's yes roughly that would be how to cover zero is you're playing man coverage and there's zero

people back there in case there's an accident and someone gets behind everybody that'd be my mistake in NCAA every single time yeah yeah engage eight I don't even know what that is engage eight there's still one guy back no that's true cover 69 yeah you don't want to know you don't hey

Yeah. So a confession about that game. Georgia Tech was up 17-0, I think. I got some sort of like neurovirus and it was so bad I was at somebody else's house for Thanksgiving I was sleeping on towels on the bed oh just in case

because I was throwing up and had diarrhea and so it's 17 zero I was like well this game's probably over and I was in Arkansas so I couldn't bet it because I would have bet Georgia and I couldn't and I was the neurovice is like 48 hours right and I didn't make it

and I woke up and saw eight overtimes. Oh, eight overtimes. If you would have bet Georgia, you would have been puckered the entire end of the game because it just kept going back and forth. I watched it and hey,

watch the biggest plays because you can do that on YouTube TV. Yeah. And 20 minutes long? Yeah, dude, that's what it felt like. Dude, Haynes King is like, yeah, he's awesome. That dude is a boss.

Yeah. So. I almost texted you because overtime, we've talked about it recently. It's a stupidest thing ever. I was sitting there with my girlfriend. She's like, they're not done yet?

It's so stupid. Stop with the one place. You don't like it? I feel like it's almost like a boxing match. Like, ah, I missed. No, no. It's more like... Not boxing, the slapping.

That's it. It's like, oh, okay, didn't knock me down. My turn. And I don't think... Because if it goes to like the national championship and it's in on a two point conversions, that's a disaster. That's gross. I don't mind first overtime, normal.

Second overtime, I think is also normal where you take turns and you kick a feel goal. I think is the third overtime. No, it's a second overtime. now. Second. I thought it's a third two. Seconds go for two.

I don't mind it being go for two every time with the play. Sure. Like I had mentioned, and I'm not sure which, if it was today or maybe to Brandon last week, I think in overtime,

you start at the 50. I hate that you can just kick a field goal immediately without having to do anything. Start at the 50. If it's even after that, then you go to the 45, then to the 40. Slowly make your way up.

Yeah. I like that, but what do I know? You know what I don't like is that when they, the two teams go for the two then the one that last did it goes next. Snake draft.

Yeah, snake draft style. I don't like that so much. I hate it that it's all two point conversions because you also saw them run out of plays like four into it. Oh, yeah. Oh, for sure. What was it Georgia Tech with the crazy formation? Didn't they have one that was like crazy formation?

Oh yeah, they had like five guys even linemen. Five linemen on the left side, which is pretty crazy. Like all the way to the sideline and then they ran a play to the right. Yes, correct. Dance, Dance Revolution out there. They don't even know what's going on. I don't know, man, go out there and do something. And they have to go from one side of the field to the other.

Yeah. It's just like, what are we doing here? I didn't like that. I didn't watch it until later, because I think I'd have been puckered the whole time, but I was a little ill at that one. Don't worry about clipping that one. Oh, yeah.

I got you. I got a couple more. Trevor Lawrence's slide and his head almost getting ripped off. God. I will say, first of all, very dirty. Yeah. Dirty play. I have a way to fix this, though.

I know you got to thought, oh. I know you got to thought, yeah, Bobby, you're not going to have way to fix this. I thought you were just going to complain about it. I got a way to fix it. So, by the way, he did end up tweeting, hey, I'm okay. Thank goodness.

I don't know if it means he's really okay or he can just tweet. Or his wife tweet. Or he got somebody else to do it. But that was a bad hit. And I haven't seen as of now what the punishment is going to be because it was elbow. It was, he was going down, elbow up. So what has happened here in general,

and I think we saw this a bit in a different way with Caleb Williams, these quarterbacks are really trying to push it to the last minute before they slide or get out of bounds. And you saw with Caleb Williams, he was going kind of out of bounds, and he stopped to try to get extra yard, and then he got hit, and his leg got bent back. We saw Kenny Pickett, which is not, this is not allowed anymore,

but Kenny Pickett with the fake slide and back up. These quarterbacks are waiting until the last minute to slide. And so I'm not saying that this was right in any way whatsoever. But these defensive players now have got to go like, and sometimes quarterbacks will just slow down and then take off again, not even faking like the slide. That's the new cheat. Mahomes have done that a lot.

Yes. Okay. But if they mark you down where you start the slide, that's kind of why I think they're waiting so much. Like I need to get a little further. But I'm just talking about the injury part of it. I'm talking about them getting hit. Yeah, but that's the reason they're not sliding so quickly, I think.

I'm not a quarterback. But again, All I'm talking about is the injury part of it where people are getting killed because these defensive players are coming and running as hard as they can going time to kill, kill, kill, he's still up and then all of a sudden they got to pull back last minute.

The hit was still dirty. That'd piss me off. The other players should not have been ejected for beating the crap out of him. This is what they should have on their uniforms, quarterbacks. They should have basically an eject button. Now follow me here.

Oh, where they get out of their uniform? Well, it's not ejected out of the uniform, though. It's like an airbag that comes out. Oh. Like as soon as you hit, It's like a big sumo suit. Yes. As soon as you, you don't even got to slide.

But as soon as you hit the sumo suit, poof. And anybody hits you, you're frozen right there. Everything ends up looking like those helmet pads that they're wearing now. Check those seat old cause. But imagine that, though. Because you know as soon as you hit it, that's the yard line you're on. So you're running. It's like on your hip, run, run, run.

Hit the button. One, you get crushed. It doesn't matter. You're an airbag. number two it's instantaneous you can see exactly where

that airbag went off and then oh my this is genius no tell me this is not right it's probably a little pricey but genius

yeah the NFL makes billions of dollars a year I'm just saying this is fun to see and if good quarterbacks get hurt

that costs everybody right so if there was some way to have even a top half half air like as soon as you're you want to call it

out anybody hits you no you're in an airbag. Two, we know exactly where it happened. Does the tackler bounce once he hits? Like, whoa, it was like a trampoline style? Don't know how big the airbag is yet.

I would say it doesn't have to be that dramatic. I'm thinking like the bottom of a pile and somebody hits it and everyone just goes flying. That's like video game now. It could be a thing. Like the boats in a can thing. But there needs to be some sort of like alert. Yeah. All kidding aside, alert as to when that's happening.

Because otherwise you should be able to hit the quarterback. Because they're sliding late. they're strategizing how to slide differently to get the most yards. They're faking, stepping out of bounds and we have to keep our quarterback safe because we've seen this.

When our quarterbacks get hurt, nobody cares to watch the games because they're terrible. It's all Gardner Minchew on 36 teams. Poor guy. Right? Clip that, right?

He was the nearest target. Thank you. The final thing I want to say. Eddie, dear friend, second love of my life. What's up, man? Eddie, dear friend who claims he never looks at group chats or text, never responds to them. Like, he's like, I don't even look at them.

If you send in a group text, just send it to me privately because I'm too good to look at a group text. I've never said I'm too good for it. But that's what you do. But if it doesn't concern me, why do I even need to read it? If you're in a Dallas Cowboys group with us. And they're all haters. You're in a Whistles betting group with us. And I contribute to that.

No, you don't. All of a sudden, we get a text from Eddie with a video going, Happy Thanksgiving, boys, look who we at a parlay. The guy never even reads them, never responds to them, but finally it's a $1 bet and wants everybody to know in the group text that he pays no attention to. So pick aside. Either you're part of the group in the text or you're not.

None of us congratulated you because it wasn't, that we weren't happy for your parlay because I think you had like a $10 one with a dollar and that's awesome but it's because you're such a douche when it comes to being like I don't read group text

Dude, my phone doesn't stop buzzing. I'm not in that one. I know, and I think you're just grouped into that.

No. That when I feel a buzz. You're not using your dad dying as a way to make us not so sympathy. Come on. That's wrong, dude. So that's all I'm saying. Pick aside. We'll respect it.

I'm in. That's not fair. I'm in. I'm in. As long as, yeah, I'm in. I want to be part of the group. I like being part of the group. And I now see the importance of when you, like, want to celebrate some

with your boys, you put in that text thread. And you know what happened? We didn't celebrate crap with you. Nothing. We don't like you in that text. Nothing. That's it. It just wouldn't come out. Texas A&M plus two and a half they lost. So that was our parlay. We missed again. But somebody hit me up this weekend on Twitter and they were like, we're bed in the parlay again. Thanks for nothing. And I'm like, gosh, we tell you don't bet it.

Yeah, yeah. We say that up front. Yeah, we say it. Like, we gave you specific bets we feel good about. But the parlay, like, what do you want us to do? We're like over, we're like one for 90. But to be fair, I even bet Portnoy's, I think, at one point. I didn't hit that one either.

It's hard, it's hard, man, unless you go with me on Sundays and set a seven gamer. You're so stupid for that. I was so stupid. When you posted it, like, I was irrationally irritated at that. I could tell. Because I was like, what is he doing? He talks about how he doesn't want to be part of the group text, but now he does when he wants to be celebrated. If it's scrolling down?

Kevin, were you geeking out on this or now? Heck yeah. As soon as I saw him pop up on the calendar, I was like, what? I didn't think about him being a Patriot and you being a Patriot, but boy. Yeah. That's right, because that's cool. Devin played 13. Yeah, that's cool.

Yeah, that is cool. I didn't think about that. Devin played 13 years in the NFL as a defensive back. He was named Patriots All Dynasty. team and they're all 2010 team and now he works for Sunday night football does radio for westwood one pretty cool uh here he is devon mccordy hey devvin man good to meet you appreciate the time no no problem hey i am actually pretty good friends with a guy that you went to college with and played in the pros uh Logan Ryan like that's like that's like my dude like whenever you are

I mean when you're in college and you and Logan you got you guys played together for how many years Just one year. Log was there my last year. And so did you guys both feel like you had the skills to play at the next level? And do you talk about that as guys who are like projected to go to the next level? I mean, I didn't when I first got to school. But by the time Logan was there, yeah, I knew. My brother was already in the NFL. But Loeb came in as like a four-star recruit.

So it was actually pretty cool. I moved my seat back in a meeting to sit between Logan and another corner we had to try to teach them everything I knew in my last. year before leaving. So whenever you get up and you know you guys are both Rutgers guys, do you try to, is he receptive to learning than what you have just learned or does every rookie kind of got to learn themselves a hard way? No, Loeg was really good. When he came in as a freshman, he was like, man, like teach me everything you know and then

obviously fast forward. He came to New England the same way and then it was cool for me to see once he left New England, like he became that guy for all of his other teammates to leave. leader, the kind of example to set for everybody in a defensive room. So it was really cool to see him do that. A few months ago was down at his house and he's got a pickleball court, like right on the middle of everything. He likes to dominate people at pickleball now because he had to find that outlet. What is your athletic outlet now that you will train or beat people in to feel good? Just really working out. I'll go down in a basement and work out and I'll still do stuff like

that. But other than that, on vacation, you know what we'll do? We'll play pool volleyball. And my wife got mad because I cut her off the team when we're in Mexico, I picked up a free agent. It was critical to our team's success. And I told her, she'll understand because when I win, she wins, but she wasn't too happy. When you were a kid, were you ultra-competitive? Yeah, when you grew up with a twin, like, we were competitive and like we would play basketball and not keep score and legit. We'll play basketball one-on-one outside for three hours. Or we play video games non-stop until my mom told us,

either we turned off the video game or she was going to break the whole thing. We would just go out. And as much as we went at at one-on-one, usually behind closed door with just us, we would be each other's biggest teammates. But from that standpoint, I think it kind of built the foundation of never really letting someone be better than you and out-competing them and everything we did

because you just naturally had a competitor with you and everything that you would pick up and do. When I think about you, obviously, I think about the Patriots, and I wonder as a guy who played at such a high level, won Super Bowls, when you have a season like this season with the Patriots, and you love them, you were a part of them, and there is, hey, it's hard to root against your team, but you also know that if your team loses,

you'll have better draft picks. Like, where do you fall with your love? love for the team and also your love for your team getting better because sometimes they don't match. Yeah, man, it's hard. And I think the biggest thing you want when you're looking at a team that you, you know, you're a fan of is you want the foundation to be set. And I think for the Patriots, you're trying to establish that this year. And I know it's been so much back and forth of, you know, the expectations and what people want. And, you know, I think for me coming into this season, I'm like, if this team wins five or six games, that to me would have been a

success story because where they were last year, everything that kind of transpired. And then the season starts and they lose some key guys to injuries. They're struggling. I think the key is you start to look ahead. You look to see, all right, who's in a draft that might help this team? How can they get better in multiple places? Is it trading back and getting, you know, five players instead of getting two players? They're really trying to figure it out.

I think the cool thing is doing the football stuff is I follow the Patriots. but I don't get to be like fully induls in just a Patriots, trying to watch every other team, and then honestly watching the good teams. And right now my guys up in New England are not one of the good teams that you need to be watching week after week. But it's fun.

Now I get to watch their journey with a lot of my friends leading it and seeing what they're able to do. So it's been a journey this year. Not a fun one to watch, though. So maybe not a fun one to watch either, but you are a professional. Do you root against the Chiefs because you don't want them to out-dine?

do you? I actually don't. I think it's unique to be able to watch a team do so many different things. And it's fun for me every week to go on and compare some of the things that they're doing to what we were able to do in all of the years. I was on the Patriots, the ability to win games so many different ways, but also to win games and be talked about of not winning by enough. Like I've watched some sports things and they'll pull up and they'll like the Chief's points differential isn't high enough to make them one of the better teams in the league. I'm like, who like, you think the chiefs care about how many points they win by? To me, they're the most fear team in the league.

No one wants to play them in the playoffs. But I honestly, for one, it gives me something to talk about, gives me a reason to have a job because of what we were able to do. And it gives me a platform to talk about it and compare it. So I'm not one of those guys. I think history in what you're able to do. It's meant to be broken or meant to be mentioned with other people. and watching what the Chiefs were able to do are able to do right now has been a lot of fun.

I don't see it as like how do we continue to elevate our voices by being done. I know like the undefeated Dolphins team toast every year when the team loses that's been undefeated throughout the season. But for me, I think what they're doing is it's awesome to see and fun to break down. They're defying all odds. Speaking of things that have just been fun to talk about, we can go either New York team. So let's go Jets first. I don't even know where to start.

We can go Rogers. We can go Sala, who is now over there working with the Pact. Like what is happening with the Jets and what in the world can they do to be good in the next few years? Isn't it funny, though? We talked about the Jets and we were like, you know, so many people were like, Sala, he's the problem, get rid of Sala. This team was bad before. But when Robert Sala was fired, they were one win going in a Monday night game against Buffalo from being the division leaders.

Since he's been fired, this whole thing has went even more downhill. And I know I live in New Jersey. So what people say and all of that stuff, they are all over. This has nothing to do with Sala, but you got to give the guy some credit. The people think he was a poor leader and all of this.

This team looks terrible now. And to me, it just shines a light on what we see throughout the NFL a lot of times is the head coach, a general manager, They don't get to make the ultimate decisions. It's the owner. And Woody Johnson has put himself back in kind of the spotlight of, hey, we're going to get rid of Sala. We're going to get rid of Douglas.

Hey, and by the way, I was the guy I wanted to bench Aaron Rogers right around week four. So this team to me is a disaster. And, you know, I was just on a pro football talk with Mike Florio. And his thing is you fire Mike Tannenbaum years ago. And now you hire Mike Tannenbaum's media company to help you. put out the head coach and general manager search and figure out how that's all going to work out. It just makes no sense. It seems like the Jets.

And it's sad to say because I think they have one of the best fan bases in the NFL of people just wanting to support and waiting for this team to do well. And they all thought last year was a year. You go get Aaron Rogers. Everything's supposed to take care of itself. He gets hurt. He comes back this year. And it's even worse. Like to think about how this team could get any worse is, I mean, it's crazy.

But I think for this team, it'll be attractive to general managers and head coaches because they have a lot of talent. The thing they have to figure out is, does anyone want to come in and work under Woody Johnson right now? Like that is the issue. But you pay guys well enough and they're well compensated. They'll come in and do their job and try to figure it out. But there's a good amount of talent on this jet team. They've got to figure out what they're going to do at quarterback next year. Is it going to be Aaron Rogers?

Are they going to move on? But in some other places, you look at Breece Hall, you're like Garrow Wilson, you look at the guys on this defense. They have talent. They just can never figure out how to get this ship pointed in the right direction. And it's plagued this franchise for years and just seems like you're still scratching your head and wondering, where will this thing go and when will they ever get it figured out? Who would you rather coach under Woody Johnson or Jerry Jones? I think Jerry Jones. I think Jerry Jones from this standpoint of he's done really well in the draft the Cowboys have.

Like when you look at the guys they draft, they have talent. And I think one of the biggest things that are stick out is they have a quarterback. Dak Prescott is there. So if I'm going to go and have to deal with an owner, I think I'm going to go deal with Jerry Jones, who at least will be front and center, taking questions, saying, hey, the general manager is not going anywhere because I'm the general manager. I'm not firing me. But if you want to criticize somebody on what pre-agents we have,

how the team's been built, I'm Jerry Jones, I'm the general manager. Like, I'd rather deal with that than somebody pulling me into the office and saying, do this, do that, do this. And then it all coming down on me. No, like, if we're in this together and you're going to be making decisions, go out there and make the decision.

I might not like it or agree with it, but at least it's your decision and it's known to everybody rather than me having to be the guy that's pulling. pulling the strings, well not pulling the strings, but actually having my strings pulled in different directions, I'd rather not have to go through that one. This would be pure speculation on your part, but they just agreed to pay DAC 50 million bucks a year. Any chance they move on from DAC if they're able to have that one, two,

or three draft pick, and, you know, Shudor Sanders is one, Cam Ward. I mean, would the Cowboys do that any chance? It would be hard. I think, like, when you first signed a contract, like the amount of money that they would lose and they would have to eat and guarantees and cap and dead cap and all of that stuff. However, all of those numbers get worked out, it's above my pay grade. But once you figure all that in, I don't think there's a way that they can, you know, get rid of Dak Prescott this year.

The interesting thing will be, if they get a chance, do they try to draft a guy that they see for the future? If there's a guy who falls in the draft, there's something like that and they, or yeah, falls at the end of the first round and they train. back up in the first round. Do they do something like that? Like we saw Green Bay do when they drafted Jordan Love in the later rounds. I think it was 23rd.

When they drafted him with that pick, it was kind of like, okay, we're drafting the successor to Aaron Rogers. Now, obviously it created a storm in Green Bay drafting him. But I think that will be an interesting thing. But the problem with that is it shows a dysfunction. You just pay a guy all that money. And then you draft a guy for the future. it doesn't make much sense.

But I think when you talk about the Cowboys and you talk about the Jess, like I don't think it has to make sense. They could easily do something like that and none of us would be surprised. I mean, Atlanta kind of just did that, right? With cousins. And then, I mean, even if you look back at Aaron Rogers

and Jordan Love, like Rogers got all pissy when they drafted Jordan Love. I mean, so it has been done. And I would say the Packers are actually a team we expect to win. The Falcons, maybe not so much. But yeah, I mean, after all that, and making DAC wait in the last minute, 50 million a year, and then drafting another quarterback. But that would be, I don't know.

Eddie, you're a Cowboys fan. How would you feel about that? I mean, I like it because we're not doing anything right now anyway. But I feel like if I were deck, I wouldn't like that one bit. You ever get drafted? And that's the, I was just going to say, and that's the thing with the Cowboys. Like, is this move going to make you a better football team? and win? Probably not, but is the move going to get you talked about on every network,

every single day of the week? Yeah, it's definitely going to do it. And we've seen over the last 20-something years that has seemed to be one of the main things the Cowboys look for. They make a ton of money because they're always talked about, their America's team, all of that. I don't know of winning is as important to the Cowboys as everyone thinks it is, especially their fan base. I think their fan base thinks winning is important, but I'm not sure inside that building and the higher-ups offices that they care as much about winning or selling tickets or merchandise.

You ever get drafted behind, meaning they drafted on the DB, maybe not to replace you, but you felt like, dang, they just drafted somebody up and spent a good pick on them to play my position. How does that feel to you?

Every year you're watching the draft and everybody thinks that you're watching to see who you get to make you better. You're just trying to see, are they trying to get me out of the door? They find them on replacement. Are they going younger? Like, that's what guys watch the draft about.

So, yeah, there was plenty of times. times there were guys being drafted in the DB room and I'll be like, all right, like, I got to go. Even my guys from Rutgers when Logan Ryan and Doran Harmon got drafted in the third round, like, I knew those guys personally. I knew they were smart, tough, good football players. I'm like, I got to get going. I got to make sure I stay young and I continue to grind in the offseason because every year teams are trying to get younger and especially as you get to the second contract and you're making more money, if they can find a guy that's just, you know, maybe not as good as you right now,

but eventually they think will be better. You can seal it. Like, they're going to get rid of you. They're going to move on. So every year in the NFL, it's a fight for older guys to stay young and try to keep your job. So I'm sure, you know,

I don't think Kirk Cousins was happy. It kind of came out a little bit this year, but he signed Atlanta, and then you draft Michael Pennix Jr. And I know right now they seem to be in a good spot because of the Wednesday banked earlier in the season, but they haven't been playing their best ball. So they fall out of playoff contention.

like there's no saying they don't say, hey, let's start this Michael Pennock's journey earlier than later. So you can't control it. And one thing I've always done is I've always tried to be a great teammate to all the younger guys because they're not, their job is to come in and take your job. They want to do the same thing you were able to do when you were a young guy. So the thing is, as a player, you've got to go be better.

You can't get mad and you've heard stories of veterans withholding information or not helping guys and different things like that. To me, that never works out. That young guy's better than you. Eventually, he's going to figure out. He's going to take your spot. You're not helping the cause by just being an a-hole to him. You might as well help the guy out and pass on what guys did before you as well.

James Winston is very much a TikTok quarterback in that he's just funny in clips. Like, I love watching Jameson clips on TikTok post-game, during game. The clip of him going, somebody jump off sides. Come on. He's like screaming at the line. Like, James seems like a guy that everybody in the locker room likes. Like, who was that? be a quarterback you played against or one that was on your team that was just so

freaking lovable. It was lovable. Well, what I'll say this too about James? What would happen of Cleveland's season that they would have put James in earlier? Not to say he's the greatest thing ever, but you just said it. The energy, the way the team reacts to him, it just seems like that would have taken off and helped this Brown's team. But I'll name two. One of the guys that I love playing against was Philip Rivers. Never cursed on the field, talk trash all the time. But here you had this guy who had like eight or nine kids and he never cursed. It's like, how do you not get that man?

When you go from at home yelling at kids all day, then guys are chasing you, hitting you and you still don't curse. It was so impressive to see. Like that was, he was that guy. And one of the other guys to me is one of the more obvious guys, but having Grunk as a teammate. Like, gronk was the guy that did everything that Coach Belichick would say we don't want to do and just never got in trouble for it. Like, you get mad at.

at him because he was out somewhere and he starts dancing or acting a fool. And it'd be like the one thing Bill said, all right, this weekend, guys, let's lay low or blah, blah, blah. Gronk would be all over social media, all over some websites. And Bill would come in and he would go to like get on Gron and Gronk would give some kind of answer and Bill would start laughing. The whole room would start cracking up. Like that was just Gronk. His soundbites, everything about him was always fun in games. He was that one teammate that you knew. It would be instant. laughs, but you also knew once you got on the field, he was going to be a problem for any team to have to deal with. Two final questions. Do you ever pick Brady off in practice? Of course, and I kept

the ball when I picked Brady off every single time. Now, I didn't do, I didn't do like Logan, you know, Logan got to pick off that last ball, and we saw it on social media for like the next six months and telling us how he ended Tom Brady's career in New England. So, no, man, anytime you pick off Brady, you know that's a special one. Final question, because Sunday night football, you're great. And you're also doing the Westwood One, the broadcast there. Like, what have you learned about this part of the business that maybe you didn't know until you got into it? Man, being a player, how many times you hear the media is bad, this guy's going to do this, she's going to say that, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

When you're on the outside and you're sitting in all of these meetings or you get to meet different people and you get to know them, everybody's best friends with the media, the head coach. the general managers, the owners. As a player, you don't know that inside information gets leaked. I used to wonder like, man, who's the guy in the locker room that's talking to these guys telling them everything? And I didn't know. It was the damn team. The team was telling all of the things that they wanted out there.

And now that I'm in the media, I see how it works. And as a player, you had no idea these people who were insiders and different things like that. Their best friends are your coaches, your head coaches. your position coaches, your GM. So that was something that I felt like when I got into the media, I was like, man, I'm in the inner circle now. I know all of the goods.

I know more than I ever knew as a player. So it's definitely different when you think of it as a player in that perspective and now being done and fully being involved in it. Razorback football and Arkansas sports so much it just what's the use what's the use you okay man we had a big fight of Thanksgiving

and it all was rooted to me being pissed about the game who got into a fight me and everybody the whole family I stormed out and went upstairs no you didn't

and it wasn't just about the game but that's what triggered me I was that guy I was like you just don't understand what did Caitlin say well she wasn't very happy about it was she on your side though she was on your side

There was no side. What did you say? It doesn't matter. I don't even want to relive it because it was bad. And I was so pissed at every, that was the world. And I was like, guys,

please don't trigger me. I haven't begged. Please don't trigger me. Were they messing with you a little bit? Not even about that. It's about something else. But I was like, I've had a rough one.

Don't. I understand. I understand. I'm laughing because I understand. I begged them. Please don't. And then we lost basketball too, to Illinois.

I was like, please don't, please don't. Because it's not going to be good. Like, I know the evil monster that lives inside. And it wasn't, it was about something completely different. And I went, it was not good. Oh, no.

How long were you in your room? I went out to my room about four. I didn't come out to the next day. Hey, by the way, I wasn't even, I wasn't even in my house. I was at their house. You like write a note that you're running away. Oh, so what are you doing? Pulled a home alone.

Yeah. It sucked, guys. And I'm not happy with it, but I understand it. And you know what, I forgive me for it. They just asked you to pass the turkey, man. It's not good. But it's it, I, and every year I'm like, why do I give so much of like my heart, soul, passion

to something that doesn't care about me? Um, but I do. And we're six and six. It's some bad losses. We got that one lucky Tennessee win happy for it, but we're not going to make any changes and that sucks. and I've said before, I think my comparison last week was I compared Coach Pittman, who I like as a person a lot, to Gino Smith,

who's a fine enough quarterback. And Gino had a good, they ended up winning that game. Yeah. Yeah. But again, there's a ceiling. There's a ceiling. And I think Pittman has changed the culture, which is great because we were, under Coach Morris was not good.

But, and if he wants one more year, great. But it's not, I mean, we're not going to win eight or nine games next year. but yeah, no, I don't like that. But anyway, Missouri beat us, and they beat us. Snow game, right? It's a snow game. What were your expectations coming into the year? Like, if you would have said six and six, would you have been like, okay, probably?

Six and six, if you just at the beginning of the year, I'd have been like, based on what we have, okay. But here's the problem that I have with all these media people in Arkansas. First of all, they're state-run media because they know, and I understand if they talk about Arkansas, they won't have credentials to go to the stuff, and that's the only thing in town. Yeah. So I completely understand. Like, there are two guys I like, um,

Bo and Chuck who work for the university, but they also do a radio show. And they're always like, hey, what a game. We really put heart and soul into it. And like, people are like,

you're propaganding the state. It's like, no, their paychecks come from the university. Yeah. Aside from the radio thing, but I would do that too, I think.

Yeah. Where I don't have to do that. So I don't. My, if you would have said six, six, beginning of the year, I'd have been like,

uh, I don't like that, but I understand. it because I think five and a half was what Vegas had put the line at, maybe even four and a half, I'm not sure. But to see how weak some of the teams were we played, it's different now that we've had the season. We should not have lost to Oklahoma State.

That game was a disaster. We should not have lost to Missouri. That was a bad game, too. We gave it up at the end. Listen, we had Texas A&M on the ropes. And you're not going to win every game. You're always, when people are like, we're three plays away from nine.

Okay. Just even one of the three. Yeah. and then you're seven and five with a chance to have a like that's a different seven to five is different than six and six if it's regardless I'm sorry for Thanksgiving I want to know so bad now I don't don't ask my wife please no I won't trust me I don't want to get because I don't want to have it happen again she was like you talked about it with Eddie I don't want it no I won't bring it up I tell you about that time when it was I think our things no it might have been

Christmas with my family and just the cousins because like we My wife's family has a bunch of cousins, and one of her sisters married a guy who his, I don't know, his grandfather went to Clemson or something. So the family's big Clemson fans. And so when Clemson and Ohio State were playing, I don't know, like six years ago,

the cousins were like, let's go Ohio State, Ohio State. And the whole family got so mad, they did what you did. They locked themselves in their room. But are they egging it on on purpose then? Oh, you can't do that. They're little cousins. Yeah, you can't do that.

Yeah, and also for kids. They're like, six. six, seven, eight years old. Oh, yeah, yeah. They're idiots. That pissed me off. But they did go into their room and watch the game by themselves.

I want to say the eight overtime, but I kind of got over it a little bit, I guess. So probably the Michigan-Ohost state, just because the upset was so big. It's so big.

In the fight. In the fight. It's so big that even if Ohio State wins the national championship, like that's still cool and all, but 22% of it doesn't matter as much anymore because Michigan just beat them. Yeah. Like their season already feels like it's done. Ryan Day, one and four.

Oh, sucks. Yeah, that's a good one. Another thing I was thinking about the flags, because you know, they're going to say, no more big flags, you know what I would do? So when you do one, like they mow, they put little sprinkler head flags. Oh, the little ones.

What I would do is get a bunch of little ones. and then I would have everybody start playing little ones around the field all the sudden. It's got a hundred of them. Yeah, when no one sees it, and then all of a sudden they're like, why are there Michigan little flags all over the field? Irrigation flags. Yes, that's what you do. No one even notices.
