Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. It's that time to put on your jersey and wave your flag, whoever you root for. Why do I watch the walk up? That's like asking me, why do I breed? And it's beautiful. The guys are young and cute and fit.
Starting point is 00:00:19 It's not just a game. It's your culture. I like watching it with my dad. It's a connecting force. From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernanda Chavari, and this is American Football, a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots. Listen to American Football on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Joy is essential and it's also elusive, but now there's a new and exciting way to start your journey toward a more joyful existence.
Starting point is 00:00:56 Joy 101. It's a new podcast hosted by me, Hoda Kotby. If you're craving inspiration to maximize your joy, tune into these candid, uplifting, and moving on-air chats. Open your free IHeart Radio app. Search Joy 101 and listen now. Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby is presented by CVS. There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black.
Starting point is 00:01:25 It scared the hell out of me. Evil, wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder take place by Krivac and Divor. Tipo. Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse, appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum. I said, I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grief. Listen to the devil's quarry in the Bone Valley Feed on the IHeart Radio app.
Starting point is 00:01:51 Apple Podcasts, wherever you get your podcasts. All right, listen up. The Jonas Brothers here. Our podcast is called, Hey Jonas. We're here since everyone has a podcast, we want it to as well. And we've had some incredible guests so far. And now our good friend Nile Horn is joining the show. How's it going, boys?
Starting point is 00:02:12 Hey, Niall. It's the same thing with Slow Hands. Slow Hands is not about anything else, really, is it? You know, or taste so good can be about food. You do the same, Nick, with some of the stuff that you've done. You too, Joe. Drop what you're doing and listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your podcasts. Hey, welcome with the show, blow it up.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Thank you. Hey, my wife gave me a haircut last night. Really? It's a lot of one, little shrimp. She's like, I don't want to do this. I was like, tell you. Haked clippers. I had, like, clean my neck up and some stuff.
Starting point is 00:02:59 She's like, I don't want to have any, because if there's no gain for me. If I mess it up, it's my fault. If I do good, I don't want to do it anyway. And so she did it. My neck feels good. It looks good. I mean, it doesn't look like anything, right? That's how you know it was a good haircut.
Starting point is 00:03:13 That's a good haircut. My wife sat down and crushed it. Has she ever? No, she didn't want to do it at all. Is it money? Is everything okay? No, that's why. Side hustle?
Starting point is 00:03:22 Are you guys good? No. No. I gave my dog a haircut the other day. Yeah, probably save money. That's what we're trying to do. His haircuts are expensive. Trying to get ahead right now, saving up, one day at a time, little by little, no dead.
Starting point is 00:03:35 We have Miller on the phone, and so what's interesting about Miller is Miller is the person who offered Eddie the tickets to get to... The Masters. I don't know how we get them on. Can we get them on? There he is. Hey, Miller. Hey, Bobby. All right, cool.
Starting point is 00:03:52 That's the first time I heard Miller's voice. So Miller, we were talking about you last week because Eddie said he was offered a ticket to go to the Masters by DM and it was you and I said, can you get Miller on? He said yes. So we have you here. I've never spoken to you.
Starting point is 00:04:06 So first of all, how's your day going? How's your day going? My day's going pretty well. I mean, it's a Monday. But I work in a school, so fresh start for the week. Nice. Where do you live? What state?
Starting point is 00:04:19 I live in South Carolina. I work in Augusta, Georgia. Oh, yeah, because it's right there on the line. Oh, is it? Okay, I didn't realize. Yeah, Gus is very close to South Carolina. Yes. Okay, so... Yeah, we actually live in North Augusta, so just across the river. How did you get tickets to the Masters to begin with?
Starting point is 00:04:37 So, to be honest with you, I'm not really sure how they do tickets now, but years ago, there was like a lottery system, and part of that lottery system was basically, like, lifetime tickets, is how I'm understanding it. And so my family won them, and so we've had them for... some time now. Wow. And we go, I've actually only been once. I'm not really a big golf fan,
Starting point is 00:05:04 but being, you know, from the area I hadn't, having never visited the National, wanted to go. So it went a couple years ago with my wife for the first time and then was actually planning to go back this year with a buddy of mine and he wanted to go for Phil Mickelson. And then Phil Mickelson announced that he wasn't coming. And so my friend was like,
Starting point is 00:05:24 oh, let's just wait until next year. And so that's how I ended up sending that message to Eddie. I know they still do the lottery, but I didn't know it was lifetime. Oh, that's legit. Yeah, that's wild. So the person that won the lottery was it? You would you say it was like your dad or something? I may have missed that.
Starting point is 00:05:40 No, I mean, it's my family, though. Okay. So you get these tickets. Miller, two tickets? Yeah, two. Okay. And what made you send Eddie a message out of everybody here on this show? So I've listened to the show, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:56 like on and off for probably 15 years. And I remember however many years ago that Eddie started going through the like foster and adoption stuff. And that just resonated with me because my wife and I are foster and adoptive parents. And we have three children that we adopted out of foster care. And so that part of Eddie's story has just always, like I said, resonated with me. And I figured if I had any chance at getting his attention and a DM that may be Masters would be the way to do it. I'm glad that it worked out. I had lost hope there and was really
Starting point is 00:06:31 shocked Saturday when I saw that message. We were on my way. Actually, my son's birthdays today. He just turned 10. And he had a birthday party Saturday. And we were on our way to the trampoline park. And I opened Instagram. I had a message from Eddie. And I'm like, there's no way that this was real. And so we listened to the parts of the 25 whistles podcast. And my kids were like freaking out in the background. They've watched the Breaking Bobby Bones show. They've listened to some stuff. They've seen you on American Idol. So they, like, think that this is the coolest thing in the world right now.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Which would have been cooler if you'd invite me. Right. This is where I'm confused, Miller. You're notorious about not really getting in your DMs. And so I figured my best chance. I wouldn't have seen it. For sure. Good, good call.
Starting point is 00:07:17 Miller, so let me get this story straight. So you use the masters to bait me? Yeah, what was he going to do with you? I don't understand. So, like, you wanted to be friends, so you'd use the master's thing? That's a pretty good bait. So when my friend backed out, what ended up happening? We were going all day, Saturday.
Starting point is 00:07:38 And when he decided he didn't want to go, I didn't have any interest in going for the whole day. But the folks that I was giving the tickets to weren't going until, like, closer to lunchtime. So I thought I would go for the morning. And it was just thought, okay, this will be cool. Let me see if I can get. Eddie, I feel like he would like to go. I would love to hang out with him for a little while. He'd be open to it.
Starting point is 00:08:01 And so I sent a message really as a joke to myself. And then, you know, Masters came and went, and I didn't hear anything of it. So I just kind of assumed, okay, well, that, you know, that's not going to happen. And then it just happened out of the blue, got that message back. But yeah, I mean, again, I just, I, it feels ridiculous to say. I'm aware of how ridiculous this probably sounds. But you'll always say on the radio show. show like you put your life out there. And so it really does feel like, which this is so dumb.
Starting point is 00:08:31 But it feels like I know y'all, because I've listened for so long. And I don't know. I just thought it would be cool to hang out with Eddie for a little while. Well, I can tell you from experience, it is cool to hang out with Eddie for a little bit. Thank you. Because I do it all the time. He's my number one choice. So you made a good call there. And he didn't, honestly, he didn't see it until after. Yeah, like a week and a half after. Yeah. I mean, to be honest, though, Miller, I probably wouldn't have been able to make it just because it was late. Yeah, as a late invite.
Starting point is 00:08:58 So don't feel bad. But next year... Now we can... We can plan for next year, Eddie. Dang. So since this is a lifetime deal, like... Yeah. Yeah, let's stay in touch.
Starting point is 00:09:10 This could be fun. Miller, we could be friends, buddy. One day... Hey, I'm here for it. So we thought it might have been a scam. It's not a scam. That's really cool. Miller will...
Starting point is 00:09:21 No, it's not. We really appreciate you listening. And thank you for... coming on with us and being so cool. And nice work on the fostering and adopting thing, dude, that's awesome. Yeah, likewise. I appreciate you using your platform the way you do. What about
Starting point is 00:09:34 if someone was to have been adopted? Like, would that effect, instead of, you know, Eddie's been adopted and, you know, I'm not adopted. I know, but what if somebody was to have been adopted? Would that have mattered at all and who you're inviting? Because I was adopted. I know, I know. Again, I didn't think that there was just can't.
Starting point is 00:09:50 But you're going to see anything in a DM. I keep making it about me. That wouldn't have gone. We could be friends Miller. You know, Bobby, I didn't want to tell you congratulations, though, on the baby because being a dad is the most incredible thing that you'll get to experience. And you've experienced a lot of awesome things. Well, thank you very much, Miller.
Starting point is 00:10:07 Well, hope you have a great day at work today, and I appreciate you listening and being so cool. And, yeah, hopefully we'll get to meet you in person one day. Hopefully you guys can figure it out next year. Yeah, you all have a good day. Eddie, you know how to reach me. All right, Miller. See you, buddy. There is the great Miller in South Carolina slash Georgia.
Starting point is 00:10:22 Yeah, you don't remember going right on the line? South Carolina. Gosh, do I don't remember. I remember we got to Augusta and we drove around a little bit and kind of checked it out and then we played a show that night. Then didn't we drive back that night? That night, same night. We did.
Starting point is 00:10:33 We slept. Yeah, we slept and they drove back. And it wasn't even on a bus. It was just a car. Was it a car? It was a rental car. It was a rental van and Justin the suit drove back. Justin and Tim.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Yeah. Okay. Speaking of golf, I hear you're going to play golf on May 2nd. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. May 2nd, I was like, wait, what's it? Yeah. May 2nd, my buddy hit me up.
Starting point is 00:10:54 last week and he's like hey we got a couple guys going out we got an extra spot i haven't been since surgery and i got the clearance so i'm good to go may second's going down how'd you know that oh he comes up and says like may second big day and i'm like what are you talking about he's like i'm playing golf on may second i'm like dude that's like in a month and then i realize yes it's important to him because his rehab and he's done yeah i haven't i haven't been to play in six months but i also thought he was going to be like do you guys want to come well i i mean i would, of course, but I didn't start this. I got me.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Pick your lane, you're giving a crap for getting free clubs, and now all of a sudden you're, like, wanting to play golf with. The Cobras? Yeah. Yeah. So, probably because he wants to use my clubs. That's probably why. That's fun.
Starting point is 00:11:37 I almost went to the driving range this weekend. I got a little wet. I probably wouldn't have, but I got to go. I haven't hit a ball since last summer and I have to play in that golf. Yeah, I heart country. Wait, is that when you're going to Texas? Hey. Oh, wow, that's coming up.
Starting point is 00:11:51 Is that May 2nd? Wait, that's? It's next weekend. See? You couldn't have gone anyway, Eddie. You're right. That's May 2nd. Hey, we're also playing golf on May 2nd.
Starting point is 00:12:00 I don't know if that today we're playing on. May 1st or whatever day that is. Our old intern, Katie, who used to be on the show, remember her? Yeah. You talked to her? Yeah, I got an update. I talked to her too. Oh, she texted you.
Starting point is 00:12:11 She called you. I've talked to her a couple times. She's working news station. Okay. All right. Well, you don't need an update then. What? I figured you'd update me because she texted me.
Starting point is 00:12:20 I'm like, what's up, Katie? And she was like, hey, just want to give you a little update. graduated from Arkansas and I got a job at Tyler. She's a reporter. Mostly does sports reporting, but she also does some news on the weekends. Anchors once in a while. And I'm like, that's great. I'll tell the guys.
Starting point is 00:12:36 And she's like, please do. Tell everyone I said hello. Well, maybe everybody but me. Okay, so Kevin, she says hello. Well, I follow on Instagram, so I see all this stuff too. Oh, you do? Yeah. Forget it, guys.
Starting point is 00:12:45 You're updated. Mike, did you know? I did not know. There we go. Mike's the one then. So if you want to have a college full mascot of your wedding, which would be cool, right? That would be awesome. Yeah, that would be sweet. So here you go. Do you guys want to know how much it would cost? Let's see. I have number 10, Kansas, Big J and Baby J,
Starting point is 00:13:04 550 bucks an hour plus mileage. Is that a real animal? It can't be a real hawk, right? It's got to be the big. It's got to be the stuffy guy. I wonder if it's all of that. Because I'll tell you why. Because Clemson, they're at number one, the most expensive. It says the tiger and tiger cub. It's $10,000 an hour. For that, that's got to be the real tight. Yeah. Wow, yeah. And a cub. The tiger and tiger cub. That's not the guy in the suit. I don't know. I hope not.
Starting point is 00:13:33 So for Arkansas, you guys have a real pig, like a big razor bag. We wouldn't bring the boar. We actually have an in costume. We have a mascot. Yeah. In costume. Yeah, that'd be what it is. I would assume. What about having the Longhorn in Texas? You can do that. Evo? Yeah, Ricky. So off all, Ricky runs that. The tiger and tiger.
Starting point is 00:13:53 So it's someone in a mascot costume. $10,000 an hour? Yeah. That's too much. That's insane. I feel like you get a better deal if you just go rent one of those and just get a buddy to be in it. You can't rent that costume. Oh, you can't.
Starting point is 00:14:05 Something like it, maybe. You can probably make one exactly like it. That's crazy. $10,000 an hour? That's too much. Auburn, Obby the Tiger, $3,000 base fee plus additional costs. Michigan State Sparty, $1,500 per appearance. That guy's cool looking.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Like he's got a real face and everything Where's the Trojan helmet It's real human? No, no, no He's fluffy But I know His face is like really defined Yeah
Starting point is 00:14:31 The duck at Oregon $1,500 bucks Cool looking Yeah, that would be cool Texas, it's not Bivo You can't get Bivo though But Texas hook them They're, it's all this is all mascot now
Starting point is 00:14:42 As far as like in the costume $750 bucks an hour Dang Indiana the Hoosier mascot $700 bucks per wedding if you want it for that. I don't know what that is, though. What's a Hoosier?
Starting point is 00:14:55 I feel like kind of looks like the Buckeye dude if I'm trying to like visualize it. Oh yeah. It's a bison. Can I see him? Hoosier the bison. Oh, that's not it.
Starting point is 00:15:07 Hold on. Oh, no, that looks like a buffalo. With striped pants. I don't. Hold on. He would get there and I would say wrong school. This is in Colorado. Yeah, that's exactly it.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Maryland Testudo Oh 700 bucks an hour That's the turtle I don't know Perpin right Oh they're turpins
Starting point is 00:15:28 I mean I know they're a mascot But like the Hoosiers is a bison I don't know how that happens Brutus the Buckeye 700 bucks per appearance There we go And this is all got to be in town too right Or like driveable
Starting point is 00:15:39 Yeah because it's have gas prices But this is that's per per appearance For Brutus the Buckeyes But then you got to pay for a flight or something And I want to if I'm flying him here He needs to be in the costume The whole time Oh yeah on the plane
Starting point is 00:15:48 Don't bring the costume in a bag. Security. You come and you wear the costume. You are the mascot all weekend. As soon as you come on the clock, you're the mascot. That would be so funny. Purdue, Pete, $600 in appearance. Arkansas is $500 for an hour.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Oh. Okay. See, that's like, all right. You could do that. That's from the sicko sent-thous. $10,000? Yeah, Brutus to Ohio State Rock guys. I went to a wedding that had the USC band once.
Starting point is 00:16:12 That was pretty cool. The whole band? Like a small amount, like the drumline. Walk down the aisle and everything. That was pretty simple. That's pretty cool. Yeah. And they had their like Trojan.
Starting point is 00:16:21 Yeah. All dressed up, dude. That's cool. That's awesome. Pride is like love. You feel it in your heart. IR. Radio. Canada's number one streaming app for radio and podcasts, including IHart Pride Canada, your favorite hits and must have party bangers.

Starting point is 00:16:56 In the moment, it felt like it was going on forever. I didn't think I was going to live. I was terrified. There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. That was your first murder case? Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Fear to say this was the biggest case of your career? Yes, sir. Rape a murder for a child. She's as bad as it gets. I would think so. Evil, wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder take place by Creveit and DePippo. Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse,
Starting point is 00:17:34 appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum. I said I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grief. Starting point is 00:18:06 Hey, I'm Hoda Kotby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby. Together, we're going to have meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people, like when actress Olivia Munn shared how she overcame fierce health challenges. I've gone through breast cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer, and that was more difficult. There's a lot of people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:18:37 I love the sounds, the buzzing from the stadium, the chanting from the fans, the announcers calling the place soccer, football, at home. Why do I watch the World Cup? That's like asking me, why do I breed? I inherited that fandom from my mom. I like watching it with my dad. It's a connecting force. From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernanda Chavari, and this is American Football, a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots. We go beyond the game to the people and the stories that make it great. A soccer game is a festival. It's not just a game. It's your culture. I took an elbow to my head, which cracked my skull.
Starting point is 00:19:24 It is an American game. The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though. Are they the only ones that don't like that? Nobody likes that. As we get ready for the Men's World Cup this summer, listen to American Football as part of the My Coutura Podcast Network, available on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. How's basketball this weekend? Oh, dude.
Starting point is 00:19:51 Basketball. I'm telling you, I'm not making these stories up. Oh, you got another one? Every single time we have a basketball tournament, something goes down. Like, something. Parents fighting, whatever. this time they were no parents fighting but we're watching the game and all of a sudden some guy runs because I always sit like courtside like just right in the front never sit up high or anything
Starting point is 00:20:14 thank Jack Nicholson yeah yeah they're expensive seats and so this guy starts running down the bleachers and he runs on the court and taps the referee during the game says hey stop the game stop the game somebody's hurt up on the bleachers so I turn around and there's a lady like laid out and about three people around her. And this is small town, Tennessee, like middle of nowhere. And so the way small town reacts at things was really funny. There's people yelling all over the get her some ice. Get her a soda. Robidusset. She needs an aspirin. And then at some point, because like there were already three people. Somebody was already in the phone, 911. And the guy on the phone gets up and says, I need a defibrillator. So we're the ones, we're in a high school. And he was he was told that
Starting point is 00:21:01 by 911. By whoever was on the phone. Well, hopefully 911. Hopefully 911. We probably want to defibrillator. And so my wife and I were like, this is our chance. Like, so we go, let's find a defibrillator. So we run down the hallways.
Starting point is 00:21:13 What's your chance? What do you mean it was your chance to do? Because we felt like we're kind of in the way. There's already four or five people dealing with it and everyone else just watching. And then when he said, I need a defibrillator, he looked at me and my wife. Like, really, like, we're the closest one of the door. So we're like, well, let's go find one. So we run down the hallways of the school busting doors.
Starting point is 00:21:31 We find the defibrillator, take it up to the guy. They start ripping her shirt apart, putting the pads all there. And I'm like, oh my gosh. And meanwhile, guys, the game has halted, and all the players, all the kids are just staring. And my wife goes, can we get these kids out of here? Turn them around or something so they're not watching this. So traumatic. This is all happening in a gym.
Starting point is 00:21:54 It's all happening. So they put the defibrillator on. We hear a loud, deet, dee, dee, dee, it starts. It's beeping and beeping and beeping. Finally, paramedics show up. And then turns out she had high blood pressure. Oh, the machine then said don't shock her. Correct.
Starting point is 00:22:11 So they had it on her and it was like, do not. I think it's the words are like, do not detonate. That's like a bomb. But whatever it is initiate. It shocks on its own, right? It'll tell, you have to hit a button. Oh, you do? It'll tell you like heartbeat detected, do not initiate shock.
Starting point is 00:22:29 And so they didn't thank God. And turns out she was just, she had high blood pressure. And she passed out. She was out. I mean, people were yelling her name out. And she was there with her granddaughter. And her granddaughter is like, her name is, whatever her name was. Say it was Betsy. I don't know what it was.
Starting point is 00:22:44 But they're like, Betsy, can you hear me? Betsy. Betsy, don't go anywhere. Betsy. Like, stay with us, Betsy. Dude, it was crazy. And now she's topless. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:22:56 And then finally the paramedics who know what they're doing. and they cover her. Like, they have, like, trash bags. Like, so the whole gym's not staring. But it's a weird thing, man, because, like, in an emergency like that, people really don't know what to do. You know, the guy on the phone is just doing whatever, you know, 9-1-1 is saying, but everyone else is like, fan her.
Starting point is 00:23:19 Get her a Pepsi. Like, what? We need a defibrillator. I mean, dude, luckily, we didn't shock her. Like she wasn't having a heart attack She was still with us Lucky someone didn't go I don't trust it shock her anyway
Starting point is 00:23:35 Yeah right Did one guy like take the initiative and just like basically run the whole thing Yeah there was a nurse one of the parents was a nurse And he kind of like took charge Golly man Dude it's always something at these tournaments Did she come to and walk off or anything
Starting point is 00:23:51 And they give her a clap No They'd lock it off They put on a stretcher and like Oh it stretched her out They stretch her out for sure. You sure she lived? Yes.
Starting point is 00:24:00 Yeah, we got word later that she was okay. Like you said, we thought it was our shot. Yeah. Like you're waiting for your big chance. I say that because really in that moment you don't know what your role is here. You just feel like you're one of the starrers doing nothing. And it feels weird just like what's going on? Like, are she okay?
Starting point is 00:24:22 Are they doing whatever they need? So when they looked at me and my wife and said, we need a defibrillator, we're like, finally we're at some kind of use around here. If that happens to me in this, wherever I am, you guys got to pull out the defibrillator, will you leave the shirt over my stomach? Because I'm a little... For sure. I'm a little sensitive.
Starting point is 00:24:39 We'll help you out. Especially now, because I haven't been able to work out as much. Just cover that. The dad's got it. I don't really have the confidence I had even a year ago. So, like, lay stuff over the stomach and then go to town because I'm sure people will be TikTok in it, you know, taking pictures. Just cover that part of it.
Starting point is 00:24:56 me up. That's another thing too. That's another thing too. Like, I know a video like that would go so viral. Like, I really do. But like... You thought about it? You thought that was your moment?
Starting point is 00:25:09 I thought about it, but like, there's no way, dude. I can do that. You're right. But a video like that, dude, would go viral. Don't ever do that. Especially if you go around and everybody's yelling stuff. Put a pickle in her mouth. Dude, I'm shocked.
Starting point is 00:25:22 Massager scalp. Get her a diet. Goh, what? What's that going to do? The fact that she's okay is great. Yes, yeah, that's why we're laughing. We need like a TV series on these games every weekend. I'm telling you, I want to do a documentary.
Starting point is 00:25:40 You should just be filming all the time at these things. But you want to do a lot of stuff. I mean, honestly, it would be a lot of work to do a documentary, but I mean... And a lot of money. I think a documentary on AAU parents, not the AAU tournaments, well, whatever. The parent life of these tournaments is... is just insane, dude. I feel like all these parents are just ruining it for their kids.
Starting point is 00:26:01 So maybe something like that that already exists. Is there? I don't know. Everybody here has Google a minute ago, and I was like, hey, someone looks at this up. Nobody went to their computers. So I have to get on my phone in the middle of, like, talking at the same time. I do not know. I mean, you're probably right.
Starting point is 00:26:17 There's probably something. There's a documentary called Trophy Kids. I was just about say, yeah. But see, was that about the kids? I don't care about the kids. It's about the parents. Oh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:26 That'd be good. What's it on? To be. No. It's on HBO. New or old. It's old from 2013. Overbearing parents and sports.
Starting point is 00:26:37 We need an update. We need an updated one. Troopy kids too? Because I'm telling you every weekend, like even this weekend, there was no fight, but like there was a parent coach fight last weekend that bled into this weekend. And we're like, the parent was just like, if that coach even tries to talk to me, I'm going to punch him in the face. They even said that ambulance would have had to take two people. That's how I feel about when we go to I-R-Country. There's a certain person there if I see them, it ain't going to be pretty.
Starting point is 00:27:04 Shut up, really? Yeah, it ain't be pretty. Luke-Briam. No. No, look at her. Look at her good friends. Bobby? Why do you hate me?
Starting point is 00:27:12 I told... Are you serious? I'm not a fighter. And I'm not going to go swing on somebody anyway to work. I'm the most professional person ever. But if so-and-so even comes up and says a word to me, it will be. be uncomfortable for everyone. Because again, I'm not going to swing.
Starting point is 00:27:30 Yeah. They will be very uncomfortable for everyone. Mike knows who it is. Oh, yeah. Wow. Will you give me a heads up if it does? I told, again, our boss, who's over the whole format, I was like, you should make sure this person does not come around me.
Starting point is 00:27:49 Because again, who am I going to beat up? Nobody. I'm going to. And about that. But if they come up and say a single word to me, it is going to be so often. awkward for everyone there. Dang. You don't know who it is.
Starting point is 00:28:00 I don't. And I don't even, I can't think of who I think it is. Like, I don't know of anyone. You can't think of who you think of is. Like, I don't even know of anyone that, like, yeah. Like a suspect.
Starting point is 00:28:10 Oh. Who could this be? You got room for one more for the trip, or? No, you got to play golf. Dang. Yeah, you already have a tea time. Yeah, man, you're rubbing it in. I just, if you needed a bodyguard, you know.
Starting point is 00:28:24 Now all the sudden you want to go. I don't need a bodyguard. guard because first of all I do think I willop this person too but I'm not a fighter I'm not going to fight there's not going to be a fight okay so it's a smaller person no it's not a smaller person weaker I don't know who do you think went on a fight Mike oh you for sure
Starting point is 00:28:40 your rage alone which is it didn't matter what size this person was your rage alone would destroy your rage towards this person because you don't get you don't have rage I don't have rage that's not your personality trait but you have so much rage with this person I feel rage oh you too might yeah we'll leave it there
Starting point is 00:28:57 dang dude I didn't know this you do I'd spend a while but you do but it was to the point of I told Rod I was like hey my advice would be that keeps this person away from me I'm not going to go up to them
Starting point is 00:29:09 but if they come to me and they say anything to me it's going to be very uncomfortable for everybody around because I'll probably say a few things then we'll not be nice and everybody would be like what the heck's happening
Starting point is 00:29:22 don't want to film me like you wanted to film Betsy I'll have that camera rolling. He's self-conscious. Leave his shirt on. Leave his shirt on. You can rip the top down? Or if you do I take my shirt off, cover my stomach.
Starting point is 00:29:40 You're right though because people are just exposed, man, whenever... I don't want that crap out there. Yeah, I agree. I work hard. I did. Now that I haven't for a while, I'm kind of embarrassed about it. Okay, so there you go. There's that.

Starting point is 00:30:24 Iheart Radio. In the moment, it felt like it was going on forever. I didn't think I was going to live. I was terrified. There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. That was your first murder case?
Starting point is 00:30:47 Yes, sir. Fear to say this was the biggest case of your career? Yes, sir. Rape a murder for a young 12-year-old child. She's as bad as it gets. I would think so. People wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder.
Starting point is 00:30:59 made place by crevette and de pippo. Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse, appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum. I said, I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grief. Listen to the devil's quarry on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Starting point is 00:31:32 Hey, I'm Hoda Kotby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:32:06 or wherever you get your postpartner depression. podcasts. I love the sounds, the buzzing from the stadium, the chanting from the fans, the announcers calling the place soccer, football, it's home. Why do I watch the World Cup? That's like asking me, why do I breed? I inherited that fandom from my mom. I like watching it with my dad.
Starting point is 00:32:31 It's a connecting force. From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernanda and Chavari, and this is American Football, a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots. We go beyond the game to the people and the stories that make it great. A soccer game is a festival. It's not just a game. It's your culture. I took an elbow to my head, which cracked my skull. It is an American game.
Starting point is 00:32:57 The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though. Are they the only ones that don't like that? Nobody likes that. As we get ready for the Men's World Cup this summer, listen to American football as part of the Miser, My Coutura Podcast Network, available on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What we should do is we should clip this part. We put our whole, this whole show up.
Starting point is 00:33:25 If you want to watch it on YouTube, you can. We don't have like a big following or anything on YouTube for this show, but it's, what, at 25 whistle sports on YouTube. And so the whole show goes up, but we should clip this as its own part here because Mike and I now are going to review WrestleMania. Oh, yes. So we're going to review WrestleMania. Anybody watch it except Mike and I? Clips. Nah, it didn't count.
Starting point is 00:33:50 Just clips. I saw some stuff from battles, socials, and those it. Okay, that doesn't count. They did show Night 1 the first hour on ESPN 2, and they showed the night 2 first hour on ESPN, which is pretty cool. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:04 So night one, I did not think night one was very good overall, and I didn't think night one was very good even before I saw the internet saying night one wasn't very good, Mike, what was your thoughts? Yeah, 9-1 was Bullins. Like, as far as excitement level, it never was exciting whatsoever. It was so safe and very generic.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Yeah, and there's so many commercials. And not only commercials, because I'm not going to be a guy that hates when people got to make their money. Because they put so many commercials on a morning show, it drives me crazy, more so than any other show. And then it's like, oh, this month, you're down. And I'm like, dude, we have 58 minutes of commercials. And two minutes of me just, you know,
Starting point is 00:34:42 going, okay, here's a tease. I mean, that's it. So I get it. You got to make your money. But I'm so used to pay-per-views being no commercials. I think that's what it is. There's no way for the show to build momentum because it's like 10 minutes of entrances. The match is like 10 to 12 minutes.
Starting point is 00:34:58 And then the rest is ads. And I was looking at the fight, the wrestling, the match times. Most of them are like 6, 7 minutes. 10 minutes is generous. So that, and then, again, not going to hate on people making their money. I get it. publicly traded company now as well, TKO is. But there's like six advertisements in the ring at once.
Starting point is 00:35:19 Like while the match is going on? Yeah. It's on the mat. Oh, one in the middle. There's like three or four circling that. They had them on the turnbuckles for the first time. They had them on the outside of the ring. Wow.
Starting point is 00:35:33 They even incorporate him into the intro. The people walking down, it's like, oh, he's wearing a helmet from Mortal Kombat, too. Really? What? I get it. I'm just so used to paper views because they're not pay-per-view anymore. They're called PLEs,
Starting point is 00:35:45 which is premium live event. I'm so used to those and going into them, it's all dedicated to what the event is. And now it's just a lot of commercials. So it's weird to, I'm going to talk about the bad stuff first. I have an ESPN Plus account.
Starting point is 00:36:01 That doesn't get your crap. So you had to watch it on the first hour on ESPN 2 or on ESPN. But then I had to buy an ESPN unlimited plan. Oh, that's extra. Because plus isn't unlimited. Plus is just a little more. Unlimited means forever, I guess.
Starting point is 00:36:15 But I'll tell you what else you can get with Unlimited. You can get the camera angle on basketball games. The camera just above the... I'm fine with a limit. I'll be honest with you. Plus is fine. Yeah, I didn't. Get a different angle, man, than everyone else.
Starting point is 00:36:28 So I did buy the Unlimited, but then also, that's for television. If I'm on my phone, I'll just VPN. I think I've VPN into Puerto Rico. I watched it from Puerto Rico. and then watch it on Netflix. That's funny. Yeah, because on Netflix, as long as you be in, everywhere else in the world on Netflix,
Starting point is 00:36:46 you can watch WrestleMania. And that was commercial free on Netflix? Sort of. For the most part, it would be like, we'll come back and they'll do a countdown clicker, but no commercials. But then also, like, WrestleMania had their own commercials.
Starting point is 00:36:59 Hey, Mike, did it remind you of the boys a little bit? Meaning... Oh, yeah, it kind of did. During the commercials, they would have the wrestlers doing commercials for like Snickers or Slim Jim. Yeah, Drew McIntyre was doing like an app or some kind of game, mobile game. And like Cody Rhodes is doing like tea.
Starting point is 00:37:15 But they look like superheroes because of wrestlers. They're with normal people and they're like, yeah, you too. And on the boys, on my favorite shows, the superheroes do the commercials with them. That's funny. Yeah. And they're selling like super person tea. So it's different than like if you're watching the NFL game and Jamar Chase is doing a commercial? Different because Jamar Chase isn't in full outfit.
Starting point is 00:37:33 True. And like costume. And it's just, yeah, different. Gotcha. Different. it's fun listen I love them I'm not going to say I didn't have a good time watching it but I felt night one was semi disappointing
Starting point is 00:37:45 but it was only night one and that was what got me to night two my wife asked me hey who won russlemania and I said because she saw that I was watching it she didn't know it was two nights first of all so I'm watching it the first night and I got to I watched every match now some of them had to watch my phone some I watched from television some I was like moving around helping the baby but I kept it on some was watching during Arkansas softball like
Starting point is 00:38:07 had it on the phone while it was up on the screen. And so when night two of WrestleMania was on the screen and my wife walked in, she was like, we're watching this again? I was like, you know, it's night two. She's like, oh my God, there's two nights of this. I say, yeah. And then at the end of the night last night after it was over,
Starting point is 00:38:23 the final match, baby's sleep, we're laying there, just talking for a few minutes. She goes, who won WrestleMania? I said, what do you mean? She goes, who was the winner of WrestleMania? Like, who won the whole thing? It's like, it's not really like that. She's like, there's not king of WrestleMania after the thing.
Starting point is 00:38:36 The champ. I said, it's not. a tournament per se at all even and she was like oh I thought like at the end there was like one one Mr. Mania or something
Starting point is 00:38:45 I said no they're just a bunch of individual matches that's more like Royal Rumble right yeah that's one you know what that's interesting because she did watch Royal Rumble with me before and maybe that she was getting that
Starting point is 00:38:57 there's a champ at the end of that one well of the yes there's a men's and a women's and 30 people in the ring and then one ends and they get a match out WrestleMania. I don't know that she connected those two, but if so, that's interesting. Probably like subconsciously, she was thinking of the Rumble. Yeah, she was like, who won
Starting point is 00:39:15 WrestleMania? So I was telling her, she's like, I'm good, never mind. But she just thinks, and it is, if you don't know about it, if you're not in on it, it does look stupid. And I mentioned this morning on the radio show, like whenever the demon comes down and there's like a beating heart on the ground and he looks very demonic. Obviously he's a demon. His face paint is awesome though. Yes, and he comes down, it's a little trick. And then she also, when she watches,
Starting point is 00:39:46 she'll be like, that punch wasn't real. And I'm like, no crap. The punches aren't real. But then they'll like flip and latches. Oh, that's crazy. I'm like, yeah, that's how they break their neck. You've got to do that stuff. So what was your favorite match of the whole thing?
Starting point is 00:40:02 Of the whole thing? I love Ria Ripley. Whenever she's on screen, I just can't look away. I think she's the most entertaining wrestler right now. So that match was great. So she did win the women's championship match versus Jade Cargo. Yeah. I do know her, Ray Ripley.
Starting point is 00:40:15 She's awesome, yeah. Yeah, and she's like full goth looking. Yeah. Like all tattoos, face pierced. But she's what they would call, like a baby face, a good guy. Oh, okay. For sake of this. I was like, she doesn't have a baby face.
Starting point is 00:40:29 But now I know what you mean. Yeah, yeah. Babyface heels. Hills are the bad guys. I know what a heel is. Oh, baby face. is the opposite of a heel. Babyface a good guy.
Starting point is 00:40:36 Oh. A face. We're learning. Yeah. So, yeah, she's definitely, we'll call it the good guy. I think the best actual, man, there are two favorite matches, but I'll do this.
Starting point is 00:40:47 I think the best match, though, was the Roman Raines' Sam Punk match. That was an awesome match. I was in. They were given it they're all both dedicated. I think Roman Rain's winning was so boring. Like, he's the champion again. Who cares?
Starting point is 00:41:03 He's how the title. six times already. It just feels like rinse repeat. I thought the match was good. I did not like how it ended. But I do think the match was so good. It was something that elevated both nights completely because I did think, man,
Starting point is 00:41:18 Sam Punk went hard, right? Yeah, great match, bad result. I think Roman Reins is just the most, like he's the most least interesting superstar they have. Like him winning he's just like, okay, like who cares? I agree. My favorite match was Obafemi and Brock Lesnar.
Starting point is 00:41:35 It started Night 2, and both of these dudes are huge. Big chunks of meat. Both of them. Like Brock is 6-4-290, and you know how large he is. How old is he? Is he older? He's probably in his mid-40s. He's 48.
Starting point is 00:41:52 He's 48. Brooke Lesnar, yeah. Wow. He's older than I am. Yeah. Still looks great. He comes down. And Obafemi is 6-4-3-10.
Starting point is 00:42:02 And so Rock is this huge white dude. Obafemi is this huge black dude. And they are going at it. And I'm thinking this is going to be the worst match ever or the best match ever. It's a really awesome match. Now, they're so large. Guys like that that are that size can't do 10, 15, 20 minute matches. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:20 Pretty quick. Yeah, I think the whole match was six minutes. Exhausting. But they had Brock Leszner put Obafemi over, meaning Oba won. And then Brock supposedly retired at the end, took his boots off. It was like crying. I don't know if he really retired. It seems a bit like...
Starting point is 00:42:34 It seems a bit like an angle. But... Obfimmy's awesome. I mean, he's like... They call him that, but he's like the next big thing, I think, because he's so large and he's so athletic. I think he threw the shot put at Alabama.
Starting point is 00:42:47 Yeah, he did. We were looking at the other day, actually, with battle. I know that. So I thought that was probably my favorite match. I'm not saying the best match, but my favorite match, because I thought it was great
Starting point is 00:42:59 that Brock Lezinger put him over so much because it's hard to get people to buy in to like the next person that's awesome. But everybody's in an Obfemi. They just had to get somebody to put him over. Mike, what about you? Next one up. Do you think he fake retired, though? Yeah, I do.
Starting point is 00:43:13 Because when he leaves his shoes out, like, that's kind of like, that's it. I agree, especially because he was a wrestler. The only reason I think he fake retired is because Michael Cole would not stop saying, we don't know. We haven't heard anything about it. And I just don't trust anything until, well, I'm not going to trust until he dies. It was like John Cena was hosting it and he just came out a couple times
Starting point is 00:43:35 and I was waiting for Sina to come out and fight even though he's retired because they just get us all the time, right? I guess they would have made a bigger deal of it if he was really retiring because he's such a massive star. And he may have retired. He may have not told them.
Starting point is 00:43:47 I don't know. But I don't believe anything. I'm just naturally going to be a cynic. But I did think Obafamian winning and beating Brock Leznor was really cool. Your next best match? I would probably say Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes?
Starting point is 00:44:02 I'll let you have that. Go ahead. Just because night one needed something. There was no excitement. And then once that happened, I thought that was the most entertaining moment of that night. What was up with a kick in the face? Because that's the clip I saw. Hunting him? Well, yeah. Like, was that certain... Was he not supposed to hit him that hard? Because his eye was jacked up.
Starting point is 00:44:20 Cody Rhodes, right? His eye was, like, swollen. I know you guys all think this is fake. A lot of this happens all the time. Really? It's just the nature of that business. Yeah. But like, and even like after he kicked him, Mike, and correct me if I'm wrong here. But when the clip I saw, he kicks him and then he like goes up to him. Like, are you okay? And like made sure he was okay because I don't know.
Starting point is 00:44:39 I guess maybe it was a mistake. That happens. Yeah, sure, it could have been a mistake or an accident and didn't mean to go that hard. Okay. But yeah, when you're going at that speed that hard, even if you are pulling it slightly, a lot of times you don't pull it in time. Dang. So there was a time to Mike during the Roman Raines CM Punk match when they came off the table.
Starting point is 00:44:59 You saw the ref go on and check on them? Oh, yeah. Like really go check on them. Oh, I saw that one too. Wait, what happened? It looked like you really got hurt. Yeah, it looks like somebody got hurt. And so the refs are always checking on them.
Starting point is 00:45:08 Even if they're down going like, want, they're talking to them. And they talk about this a lot now on TikTok, but even the Netflix show where they, you know, behind the scenes. The ref is down. And he's like, because if somebody is hurt or they knock their wind's knocked out, they'll communicate to the other wrestler. Hey, give it time. Like wait. slow roll your move back up.
Starting point is 00:45:31 I felt like like CM Punk was hurt. Oh, I thought Cody Raines got hurt. Or Roman Raines? Sorry, yeah. Yeah. Like the way you hit him and then he... Or maybe he was just selling it really well when he was like in pain.
Starting point is 00:45:41 Could have been either one of them, but that looked like a pretty tough shot. My second favorite match was the night two ladder match. Penta, I never... I'm not drawn to Luchador type people. Because I'm like, I can't ever see their faces. Nothing to do with Mexico eddies.
Starting point is 00:46:01 Okay, I was wondering. I'm like, you have a lot of Mexican friends. Nothing to do. We already established. You like a lot of us. I know. I just kind of like to see people's faces. But Pint is awesome.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Yeah. And then Javon Evans, he's 21. Really good. Does all the high flying stuff. He's awesome. Ray Mysterio Sr. Was in. Oh, I know him.
Starting point is 00:46:24 He's already in the Hall of Fame. He was, I, I, they just give so much of their bodies. They're so athletic. But what sucked was those other three guys, they got like beat up guy intros. Yeah. They came back from commercial. The other three guys were just in the ring already. It's like back in the 90s when I used to watch WCW.
Starting point is 00:46:38 They're already in there. And you would just know that person was going to lose. Really? He was 51. He's 51? Man, he was still moving really well. But yeah, they had three guys. J.D. McDonough, Dragon Lee, and Rusev, who I don't, listen, I don't watch every.
Starting point is 00:46:52 I'm not casual, but I'm definitely not super because I don't watch much more than PLEs in clips. but you knew those stories weren't going to win. They were the Brooklyn Brawler. They were just in there. You knew they were going to lose. They were just in there to kill some time.
Starting point is 00:47:07 But they didn't even get an intro, which is wild. But I did think that match was really good. Yeah, I thought the Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, was fine. It was the best one of the first night, for sure. But I'm glad Cody Rhodes won. Randy, Orton's 46. It looks like that. All these guys.
Starting point is 00:47:24 Yeah, it looks like great. What? Did I see Pat McAfee get rolled out in a stretcher? Yeah, so Pat McAfee was night one. He was Randy Orton's guy. Okay. And so he came down. He got jelly rolled.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Jelly roll came out for like five seconds and elbowed him off a table. Oh, okay. And then they stretched him up. And then he came back down in a referee uniform. And then he got archa-oed by Randy Orton. McAfee did? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's supposedly he's done with WWU.
Starting point is 00:47:52 And now he's retired. He's like, I'm out. I'm out. Other notes. That's funny. The demon, Finn, I don't think he's a good demon.
Starting point is 00:48:03 Like, I just know him as, and first of all, his name's, you know, Finn Baller, that's so Irish. Isn't he Irish?
Starting point is 00:48:11 Finn Ballar? Isn't that thing? F-I-N-N, yeah. Yeah. I feel like that's too Irish. Like, that dude doesn't look like a, I already knew him as Finn Baller.
Starting point is 00:48:19 I don't know. Mike, do you like the demon character? It's a little cordy, but I kind of like it. Dominant Mysterio lost to him. I was surprised that he won. I don't know much about the demon character.
Starting point is 00:48:28 I don't know where it's rooted in, so I'm like going to act like. Yeah, his paint was good. Trick Williams won. There's too many titles. Do you feel that, Mike? Yeah. Like there was the undisputed
Starting point is 00:48:40 WW championship, which in Cody and Orton, and then there was the World Heavyweight Champion between Roman and CM. It's almost like the same belt the two people have. Let's see. Gunther beat Seth Rawlins.
Starting point is 00:48:52 What did you think about that match? I like when Brown Breaker came out, even though they kind of botched the spear. They did box the spear. What does that mean? Braun Breaker comes running down and Bronbreaker is Rex Steiner's son Am I right on that?
Starting point is 00:49:04 Is he? He comes running down sprinting down He does a spear but he kind of misses it He runs down to the ring Yeah he is Yeah And he sprints down
Starting point is 00:49:17 He's been out for a while And he misses it He hits it kind of at Seth Rollins is there Seth Rollins is an A star So you don't really want him Losing a match And Gunther they're really putting over As like the career ender
Starting point is 00:49:27 But yeah he's he's Rick Steiner's son Yeah he is Who's your favorite women's wrestler? Is it? Ria. Ria Ripley, yeah. I'm big Becky Lynch fan. She's good too, yeah. And right now they kind of have her being,
Starting point is 00:49:40 we'll call it a bad guy. People love her. Yeah, right. I'm learning. People love her too much. Like, she's so good at everything. Becky Lynch is, she was the man, Becky Lynch. She was the main event,
Starting point is 00:49:53 WrestleMania, first one, main event. Who do we have on the show? Which one? We interviewed her. She kind of had her best. Chelsea Green. Chelsea Green. Is she fight?
Starting point is 00:50:01 She was not in this. Oh, yeah. I remember her from the show. Drew McIntyre lost to Jacob Fatu. Drew McIntyre's who I had on my Netflix show. Fatu, big. They're both big, yeah. Well, you're just saying that.
Starting point is 00:50:15 No, I've seen that. I've seen him before. I think I saw him live when I went to Bridgestone. What do you think about that, Magic, Mike? It's crazy after seeing him in person, having him on the podcast and then seeing him on on WWE, like, oh, he is massive. Yeah. Do you root for him more?
Starting point is 00:50:26 I was. Yeah, you have to, right? I was. I was. Saddie lost. Like, oh, I got lost. He's here, dude. The other match. Oh, so, you ever see that movie, what, is it fighting with my family? Mm-hmm. You guys ever see that movie? No. Mark Wahlberg.
Starting point is 00:50:39 Watch it a long. Oh, no. Is he in it? Well, even as a dad in that. Is he? So I watched it a long time ago, and it's about young girl wanting to be a wrestler in her family. It's like, what are you doing? Okay. So, but it's about the wrestler page's life. And she's been not at WW. She was injured really badly for eight years. She came back. But I watched the movie before I really knew much about her. So she came back and she fought with one of the Bella twins. Did she win? They won. They're champions now. Yeah. But she's been out for eight years.
Starting point is 00:51:12 But I just, the movie's good. Like I said, right Mike? Yeah, no mind. It's Vince Vaughn, the Rock and Florence Pugh who plays her. That's who played her? Yeah, Florence Pugh. Man, that's been so long. Yeah, so it's 2019. That was before Florence Pugh was even famous. Like right on the cusp of that, yeah. Yeah, so she returned, everybody was shocked. But some of that stuff have been leaked. That kind of sucks. Yeah, I saw she signed on the contract the day before.
Starting point is 00:51:36 Yeah. The other one was so Speed and Logan Paul were on the same team with Austin Theory. Is he like fully in now, Speed? I show Speed, right? Or no. Yeah, you're talking about, right? No, he's not fully in. This was actually his first match. He got thrown into the Roll Rumble, and I think Bronbroker's who speared him
Starting point is 00:51:54 and, like, lit him off. I remember him being Speard. Yeah, hard. And, no, he came back and actually wrestled in this one. Dude's an athlete. Speed? Yeah. Awesome athlete. He's already ripped, so he, like, kind of fits in so well. He can fly, too. And Logan Paul can be a champion.
Starting point is 00:52:10 He's awesome. Like, as a WWE wrestler, he's not an awesome celebrity wrestler. He's just really, really great. And he's jacked. Yeah. And also, he does the flips. They lost, though. But Logan Paul's really good. But L.A. Knight and the who's over others won.
Starting point is 00:52:27 So anyway. I feel like they use the announcer table too much. All the time. Every match, all right, we're going to go through the table. It takes away from the meaning of going through the table. That's the one that broke. Well, they kept doing, what, they have 12 tables? They just kept replacing them.
Starting point is 00:52:41 It's super cliche. Let's put them through the table. Or let's lay them on the table and jump off. It just didn't feel super WrestleMania to me. There was nothing, there was no like the entire ring going down or somebody coming out in some kind of machinery. There was nothing, no pizzazz. I agree. It did not feel like the premiere of the premieres.
Starting point is 00:53:00 Like this is the big one. Yeah. What do you letter grade it? C. Same. Oh, wow. Just barely passed. Same. And I'm telling you, if weren't for night two being good, it had to be really good to lift it. Because night one was a dud. You know what I care about the least? When they announce how many people are there?
Starting point is 00:53:21 They're like, it was so weird, too, after John Cena did that, he comes out and he's like, all right you ready to hear the total attendance and the crowd's like I don't care no one cares and then he goes
Starting point is 00:53:33 55 and then last night the total attendance 106,012 and the camera just stays on for a second and then some music kits and it just goes to commercial it was just a weirdness
Starting point is 00:53:45 it was so clunky the most entertaining unintertaining thing you can put on the thing like I do not care how many people are there was that in Vegas
Starting point is 00:53:52 yeah I was a person like that place is too big. That arena? Yeah. Like it takes a, like it just feels too massive and you don't feel the energy of it.
Starting point is 00:54:01 Where was it? Was it Team Mobile or was it an Allegiance? Oh, Allegiance. So it's a stadium. Yeah. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:54:06 that's where they're going to have it because it's about money. It's all about, I don't hate people making money. So I like to remove that narrative that I've put on myself. But it does, it does make it feel different.
Starting point is 00:54:17 It's too big. But some of the intros were cool. Like they spent, they invested some money in it. They made a bunch of money. They had an ad on everything. I mean, I like it when they play basketball in those stadiums. Like a Final Four?
Starting point is 00:54:29 I think that was in... Oh, India. Yeah, India. The football is where the Colts play. It's cool. Pride month, Toronto. Pride is an opportunity for you to create your own space. To celebrate your existence.
Starting point is 00:54:43 IHeart Radio is proud to be an official sponsor of Pride Toronto Festival and we won't stop. Celebrate Pride. Turn up the love and listen to IHeart Pride Canada. Your 24-7 radio stream and the only playlist you need for your time. Toronto Pride celebrations. Pride is so great because it gives a whole bunch of people this visibility that they've never had before. We have a ton to celebrate Toronto. Happy Pride!
Starting point is 00:55:05 Iheart Radio. In the moment, it felt like it was going on forever. I didn't think I was going to live. I was terrified. There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. That was your first murder case?
Starting point is 00:55:28 Yes, yeah. Fair to say this was the biggest case of your career. Yes, sir. Rape and murder for a child. This is as bad as it gets. I would think so. Evil, wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder take place by Crevent and DePippo. Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse, appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum. I said, I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grief.
Starting point is 00:55:58 Listen to the devil's quarry on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. and to hear the devil's quarry ad free with exclusive content, subscribe to Lava for Good Plus on Apple Podcasts. Hey, I'm Hoda Kotby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby. Together, we're going to have meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people, like when actress Olivia Munn shared how she overcame fierce health challenges. I've gone through breast cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer, and that was more difficult.
Starting point is 00:56:38 There's a lot of people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I love the sounds, the buzzing from the stadium, the chanting from the fans, the announcers calling the place soccer, football, at home. Why do I watch the World Cup? That's like asking me, why do I breed? I inherited that fandom from my mom. I like watching it with my dad.
Starting point is 00:57:11 It's a connecting force. From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernando Chavarri, and this is American Football, a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots. We go beyond the game to the people and the stories that make it great. A soccer game is a festival. It's not just a game. It's your culture. I took an elbow to my head, which cracked my skull. It is an American game. The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though.
Starting point is 00:57:40 Are they the only ones that don't like? Nobody likes that. As we get ready for the Men's World Cup this summer, listen to American Football as part of the My Coutura Podcast Network, available on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Are you watching the Cowboys will do it on the draft? It's coming up Thursday. No, no, I haven't done much research.
Starting point is 00:58:07 There's a lot of theories on, like, well, historically, what they've gotten at number 12. I'll get there. I'm just not in that mindset yet. who knows, dude, who knows what they're going to do. Are you excited about it? Always. Oh, the drafts are so excited. You first round picks, too.
Starting point is 00:58:22 I know. Now the Giants have two and the Jets have two. Yep. Because the Giants just traded. Yeah, Dexter Lawrence. Dexter Lawrence to the Bengals for the number 10 pick. Oh, wow. Did you see that clip of him?
Starting point is 00:58:33 He's already at the stadium like 12 hours after I got announced. No way. He was already there, yeah. And then it's like a clip of him and he's walking into the stadium empty. He's like, I got chill. And it's like, what? This news just broke last night. Yeah, so there you go.
Starting point is 00:58:49 All right. A.J. Brown. Yep. Did I miss something this morning? Well, it's pretty much a lock that he's going to get traded. Dinah Rossini reporting it? Oh, no. That's the running joke.
Starting point is 00:58:59 It is? I haven't seen this. I'm sorry. If I stole somebody's joke, I have not seen the news because I've been working on one. No, you'll see it. So they're saying that after June 1st because then the cap hit goes from 40 million to 20 million. He's going to get traded to the Patriots. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:59:12 That's pretty much a lock. Jeffer came out and said it today. See, that's why that joke really works. It really did work. So everyone started Photoshopping and AI. Shefter at the resort with Bramson. It's so funny. The internet is so funny.
Starting point is 00:59:27 So, for what? What are the Patriot trading? It doesn't say any details about that yet. Brable? You're right. Diana. They're just like, oh, I got to get rid of a little. We give you Brable and Dan.
Starting point is 00:59:41 And throw in the resort to. while we're at it. Yeah, right, a free weekend at the resort. Hey, those rooms are like two grand, like six grand a night. Ay, y'all. At that place. Wow. And did you read the story that because the athletic, I get the Atlantic and the athletic mixed up. I subscribe to the athletic. I don't subscribe to the Atlantic, but they're both, this sounds the same. Yeah. Atlantic, Atlantic. Yeah. So that the people at the athletic, I believe, gave her the opportunity to provide some receipts. Receits. Literal receipts from going into the resort. Literal pictures of her with her friends.
Starting point is 01:00:20 All and none. Nothing. None. Yeah, that's not good. Wow. And then there was a reporter. I can't remember his name, but came out and said that he believes it was her husband to hire a PI, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:32 So it's, uh, yeah, not good. Oh, so it was an iPhone. According to that guy's belief. Yeah. Man, that reporter was at the right spot, like hiding in a mountain, like in full real tree camo? Like looking like a freaking turkey hunter. Just waiting.
Starting point is 01:00:50 I wonder, like you hunted, right? Anytime you see like the, you know, you see deer and crosshairs, your heart just starts racing. I wonder if when he saw the whole day, it's like, oh, man, this is it. Got him, got him, we got him. I know. He starts shaking. He's like, oh, God, I got him.
Starting point is 01:01:06 I got him. I've got never three days. Oh, man. Boy, they're a lot. Brable's not so much, although I wonder if at home he's in trouble. He has to be. And he's avoiding it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:17 And it's a nuisance to him, but it completely shook up her life. Yeah. Did you hear the story is all alleged? Probably fake. I want to say that at the beginning. How about how she got into a fight with Britt McKinery, Diana Rossini? And Google this up about they got into a fight because they were both hooking up with Sean McVeigh. Whoa.
Starting point is 01:01:39 Now, again, this could totally be something that was made up. I read it two different places that does not mean it's true because somebody can just take something and repost it from the other thing that was wrong. Sean McVease, single dude. Yeah, there was, not anymore. Oh, he's married now? He was for a long time.
Starting point is 01:01:53 Yeah, dude, when he was single, I knew somebody who was hooking up with them. He was a good-looking dude. Yeah, like, I knew somebody. He had a kid now. Anything about that? It's unverified. They got into a drunken, chitter, and posts from 2015.
Starting point is 01:02:05 But there are posts from back then? Yeah, but they're unverified. Right, right, but I'm just saying it wasn't somebody that made it up now. They just came out back around now. But they did happen in 2015. Yes. Unverified.
Starting point is 01:02:18 But that's different than them making it up now. Yeah. And going, this is a story. We're making it up. If that was posted in 2015, I'm not saying that it makes it true, but it does give it a leg. There's something there. Huh. Yeah, and this is when he was back with Washington, Mick Vey, who's their assistant.
Starting point is 01:02:37 Dang. That's crazy. A lot of female reporters are calling our... out though. I saw the one girl get fired, but yeah, did you shut up? That one that got fired from USA today? Yeah, USA. That's what it was. She's like, she got what she deserted. It's not your chilly, man. Yeah, what she is flipping that into a parade for herself now as far as like, she was also not even a real, real employee. She was like a contract employee from what I read. Oh, freelance writer? Yeah, like they just hire
Starting point is 01:03:06 freelance, but I'm sure that, but that's not your chili. Stay out of it. Don't eat your someone else's chili Yeah yeah whatever works for you Yeah whatever works for you Eat your own sour crop Yeah All right Everybody good
Starting point is 01:03:22 Good Mike you good Good All right that's it for this week That's it for this episode here It's you know there really aren't any sports No there really isn't Arkansas lost two out of three to Oklahoma and softball
Starting point is 01:03:34 Oklahoma is number one Arkansas number six Game one they lost by one Game two they won by one But it was the first time they had beat Oklahoma In like 16 years at all. And so I know they're disappointed
Starting point is 01:03:46 because they got to beat pretty bad game three. It's the first time they beat Oklahoma at all. Oklahoma has lost one home series in the last five years. They're just so dominant.
Starting point is 01:03:57 But I know, and I haven't talked to DJ since, but it's like his mom. He beat his mom. That's crazy. That they haven't beat them in like 16 years. Wow, that's crazy. So I'm sure they're disappointed
Starting point is 01:04:06 they didn't win a series and that third game wasn't good, but they can play with them and finally they got the monkey off their back on just not being able to beat them at all. You watching any NBA yet? A little bit. Spurs looked good last night. Yeah? I saw Wemby, not game games, but
Starting point is 01:04:20 do you, dude, WrestleMania has been on. What do you want for me? I know. Sorry, so. I forgot. Okay. I forgot. Okay. I've watched much clips. I saw Wemby go pretty much coast to coast. Oh, yeah, dude. He's so good. Like, behind the back, I mean, all the way down. I think I saw the same one as you. Yeah. I've seen some clips. I saw it steps out. Yeah, that would suck. If LeBron goes to Golden State next year, that would be interesting.
Starting point is 01:04:40 Yeah. You might, there. Man, the Lakers, that Lakers, Houston. I watched like half of that. game it was bad. So Lakers won game one. Duran was, did Duran play last night? No, the first game one he didn't play. Right, but do they play game two? They don't play until tomorrow. Okay, so they didn't play last night. Yeah. This is the start of the three month playoffs. Tyler Reddick won again. Nasscar.
Starting point is 01:04:59 Way, really? Turn up. Dude, this is weird. This is weird. Michael, you know Michael Jordan, like, when you see something like this happened where Tyler Redick's a good racer, I'm not saying he's not a good racer, but like he's won four races this year already, it's
Starting point is 01:05:13 Pretty unheard of in NASCAR for someone to dominate like that. Is he winning too much where it feels fishy? It does. And if it wasn't for Jordan talking about how he paid, all I think about is the stories of like, you know, when he'd bet the team, like, I bet you my luggage comes out first. And then he'd pay the luggage people to make sure his luggage comes out first. This is the crap I'm thinking is happening.
Starting point is 01:05:36 It just feels weird. But, hey, Tyler Redick won again. Do we do all the sports stuff in the last 60 seconds of the show? Sports podcast. In golf, there was a good playoff. Playoff at the HG Heritage, something. Yeah. Matthew Fitzpatrick was winning,
Starting point is 01:05:57 and then Sheffler just came out of nowhere again. Tied it up. Went to playoffs. Who won? Fis Patrick did. Oh, he did? Yeah, he did. Playoff hole, he birded it. Wins it.
Starting point is 01:06:05 I saw where Deschambeau punked out of the live event. It was like, oh, my wrist hurts. He was like him planning the ball was in a weird place. The Mexico one. You're like you're not getting shot, bro. Just the ball. Right. I stop complaining.
Starting point is 01:06:14 They'll chop your head off. Yeah. I'm withdrawing my wrist. It hurts. Liv's going down anyway. I know. It's bad. All right.
Starting point is 01:06:21 Sports podcast. There you go. We did it all in like two minutes. We did. We'll see you guys. Bye everybody. Blow it, Eddie. Theme song written by Bobby Bones.
