because it's the only thing that I hit. Do you, like, turn into the couch? No, but I will look down and be like, I look at the couch, I think. You hit the couch? Yeah, that's the only thing I really hit in my life, unless I'm working out. Like, I'll slap the couch.

I broke my hand, punching a couch one time. Punching a couch. I was angry. It must not have been the soft part. No, it was the corner of like the end of the couch. Yep, the wood part. That's aggressive. Why?

At a game? No, my mom. Oh, your mom, yeah. I was like 30. She told you not to, you can't do something or something? She told me to, like, do something. I think it was like clean something up and I just got angry about, I don't know,

I had anger issues as a teenager and just I just turned. And the first thing I saw it, I punched the corner of the couch and it happened to be the wood part and it broke my hand. I went upstairs and act like nothing was a big deal. Went to school next day. Couldn't close my hand. And I was like, yeah, I think I broke it. And I did. A little hat in hand, a little humble pie?

Yeah. Yeah. Learn my lesson the hard way. Do you still have anger issues? No. No. You just got rid of them? It's called therapy.

It's like a virus almost. Like it never really leaves. Well, it's called therapy. You learn how to deal. with your anger is what it is. When I was a teenager, a lot of trauma, I was like, I was mad at my parents for, at the world. Well, it's a safe place, man.

If you want to just let it all out. Yeah, if you want to talk about something, it's a holiday. We have a soft couch over there. It's true. It's a holiday, family holiday. Roto is like... Rottissory. It means like football, baseball. It's rotissory baseball is how all fantasy started. Yes. Okay, it's fantasy because every year I buy a Roto something magazine for my draft. You do? Yeah, it's at the grocery store.

Yeah. Hold on a second. Let me check my phone. Is it 1997? You know what? They even have those still? And it's also not up to date because they had to make it with paper, put it in a box, ship it to the store.

It sits on the shelves. They have one that you can get about two months before draft season. Then you have an updated one. They send a month before draft season. And then you have one, which is like right in the middle of draft season. So you just kind of like, you can buy all three and kind of see what they thought and now what they're thinking. Why would you buy a paper magazine when you could just go online? and buy even subscribe online and get real time edits i understand and it does give you that when you

buy the magazine there's a code that you can put online and it gives you all the digital version of it dude you're living in the past no it's not it's not even that i like i read the magazine it's tradition it's cost five dollars and when it's okay if it's tradition i'm okay with it's fantasy season part of it's going over to the grocery store and buying the magazine or aren't you any better than you think i'm not i'm not good at fantasy dude i don't know i suck at fantasy Nobody's like, it's hard. You're good. Fantasy.

I'm having a good year, yeah. Bobby's pretty good. He's in the playoffs every year. Yeah, I think I've won it a couple of the last few years. But it's okay. Our league, though, has kind of fallen off. I think we mentioned this. Yeah, our old league.

Yeah, it's the league we're in. The one that we're all in together? Yeah. Okay. I used to run it. Like the commissioner? It was legit. He used to run it.

We used to draft in Vegas. Oh, that's it. I do newsletters every week. There was a trophy. Oh. Wow. I just got too busy. And so we put it over to Mike Signs.

What were you doing? Too busy. Right, I know. He does a fine job. He's a good commissioner. But I'm in another league where we've all paid a bunch more in, so it matters more. Yeah. And I don't even like doing two leagues.

I've said this before. But I know a couple of those guys, but it was a high dollar league. And I was like, this would be fun. And so I focus on that one a little more. But I'm doing fine at both. I'm doing good of both. Are you in the playoffs for this for our league? Yeah, right now.

I think I play you this week. Yeah. Yep. Have you guys looked at it? My whole team's been hurt, though. Yeah. And I'm just getting by. What's up?

I played Mike last week. He had, uh, who went off, Mike? Gibbs. Gibbs. Oh, Gibbs went off like 50 points, huh? He still lost. Mike still lost. Wow.

Oh, we played week six. I looked back. I won by 0.7. So the two times he's played me. It's screwed me over. They've sort of announced the Arkansas coach. So as we're recording this, it's all over people saying it.

I still don't know that it's officially official. But Alex Golish, who we had on the show and who I was like, hey, dude, come to Arkansas. A lot of people are crediting me with convincing him to go look up payable in the fall. As they should. That's what you said. It was his wife, man. And if something happens and they're like, just kidding, it's not, then, yeah.

Okay, we misspoke. I know, here's what I have known for a while. He was the first one that was offered the job. And had he decided because he was thought there was another job opening as well, he was going to decide between those two jobs. And we had a second guy lined up too, who I won't say, who cares. So I knew it was going to be one of the two. And you're okay with either, both?

I'm okay with whatever. Again, I've not really associated any emotion to anything. Can't be disappointed if you don't have any sort of expectation. And I think that'd be fine. We weren't going to spend a bunch of money on a, but who even was, except for like Lane Kiffin? Yeah, you didn't think you. you're going to get land?

What are we going to do, hire Lincoln Riley? Who's getting who? Penn State can't even figure out what they're doing. I know, yeah. And all of a sudden they're like going to scramble. Auburn's got to figure out what they're doing. And all those coaches like the John Summeralls,

the Alex Golish's, the Ryan Silverfield, all those American conference guys. Like, to me, they're all kind of on the same level of the shelf. Yeah. Some of them will end up being better than others, obviously. Some have had different versions of winning, but they're all kind of the same. So I'm not going to jump to be like,

that coaching ours, so it's a terrible. It's all good. You think there's any way Clark Lee leaves Vanderbilt? I don't. Because, like, I mean, a team like a Penn State or Florida might want them for sure, because what he's done is unbelievable. But I think he loves Vandy so much. He played there.

He's from here. Yeah. I mean, his home's here. So it's kind of perfect. But it is Florida or Penn State. Penn State's last coach came from Vandy, though, which is kind of weird. Yeah, that's true. James Franklin was here when we moved here.

He was the coach of Andy. I didn't realize that. And they jumped up to Penn State. I don't. But I don't know. I have no insight on that. I didn't even want insight on the Arkansas stuff. I was getting annoyed with it. So what do you mean?

Like people were just texting you stuff and you're like, I didn't want to know. And I'd be like, nothing. What do you know? So they would just tell me. Well, why would you ask? What do you know? Well, because then I would know what they told me. I can't not know.

But you didn't want to know. But at first I started off with nothing. It was like, what do you know? Nothing. What do you know? Well, we've heard they've contacted us. So someone else texted me, what do you know? Well, I kind of know this.

Oh, I only knew this. from the first person that told me what do you know so then i was just sharing that information so i'd be like what do you know so i'd have that plus the new what do you know next thing you know i'm talking about to four or five different coaches were calling me going hey is your athletic director like a weirdo is just that i don't even know i had multiple conversations with coaches like asking for feedback about different things about and i was like i don't want to be this person yeah because i don't want to be so attached because i don't want to like or not like the person i'm done with that version there was time for a while when i was like i want to be in

I want to be able to go and like call the coach up be like I'm in town like Musselman who's now at USC who's our basketball coach who met to California he's a California guy nobody got mad at him for going back he won at Arkansas like him and I had a good relationship I would go to he'd be like let's go to dinner

let's go whatever come up let's I like that but then it got kind of weird with our old football coach Pittman never because it got bad but because it wasn't going well so therefore I'd be like it sucks we suck and so they started to not like that I was not saying nice things about the program.

Also donate a bunch of money so they couldn't completely blackball me. So I was like, I don't like this feeling, so I'm just going to not get too close to the sun. That's why I don't know Cal. I donate to basketball. Cal would be cool. Cal was going to call me the other day

because I got a coach from his chief of staff. It's like, hey, Cal wants to give you a call and just say thanks for stuff. I said, hey, man, I mean this in the most respectful way. He doesn't have to call me. This is not a hint. he needs to grease. Like, I'm in regardless. So if he wants to call and just say hi, I'm all good for it. But don't feel like this is like a booster who feels like it's so cool when coach calls.

I bet he respects that. Like, I bet he got that message and was like, cool. Well, you never call me. So yeah. That never happened. Yeah, yeah. That's true. So I don't like, I'm not, I want to fly too close to the sun because I don't want to get angry at people or not like somebody that make me like what I love the most less. Have you ever had that with an artist? You? You've ever had that with an artist? You don't need to say who, obviously, but like somebody you maybe grew up and then you kind of meet them in the industry and you're like, oh.

Yeah. Yeah. I can separate. I had a really bad couple years with Casey Musgraves, and she's still my favorite. And now it's not a bad couple years anymore. I've talked about it a lot. It's 98% of that was my fault.

But it never affected how I felt about her music. It was still my favorite. And I think I'm kind of able to separate. And the people that I really don't get along with, like a personality's clash, I never really like their music, though, either. Well, that helps. Yeah. Yeah, for the most part. I mean, but I've also, like, any human relationship, like, I've had good times and bad times with certain people.

Like, friends, you go in and out. Like, I don't like their music anymore or less because I'm friends with them or not friends with them. Okay. I just never know if you got too close, like you're talking about, but in the music industry that you guys are so close in, it's kind of like you can't avoid it because it's obviously you're... I just don't feel like I'm that close in it anymore. I've separated myself from it a bunch So I don't have Yeah I'm not that close in it anymore

It's on all the time Well, Saturdays, I play the old Cosby Records. That's great. Nice. But you can't watch the TV shows because looking at them's different. They're not on. No, that's Dr. Cliff Hoxtable. So that's not.

That's harder, dude. Is it weird that he was a gynecologist? Yeah, it is. Everybody, I'm kidding about that. Oh, yeah, it's a joke. Okay? Everybody, I don't listen to R. Kelly. I don't watch.

Yeah. We clip it. We clip it. We clip it ourselves to get me in trouble. Promote it. But yeah, I think it's easy, Kevin, to separate the art from the artist. Well, you're a small talk guy, though. What is that what?

Well, I'm just saying, like, you can have a small, like, if you don't necessarily like an artist, but you grew up liking his music or you've liked his music in the past, you feel like you're good at being like, you know, you can still talk to him, have that small talk, whatever, and then just kind of go about your way. Yeah, but there was a time when, and Bobby, you can probably talk on this, but like, there was a time when, like, it was cool to meet someone. Like, oh, I really want to meet them. And then once you get to know them a little bit, you change your theory on that. You're just like, I'm good. Okay. Never seeing them again.

But then you're kind of like, because we've had people interviewing, like, ex-athletes on the show where it's like, dang, I kind of wish I didn't know that their personality was like that. I'd rather just know them as like this iconic player, you know? I don't really have a lot of bad stories because most of the time when I interview people, they come in and they're being their best. That's true. When people ask you, like, hey, how is this person?

Most time it's great. Like, I don't have a whole list of that. I have, like, personal stories that have happened. But I think even Eddie has a buffer because I don't think Eddie's in as much as I am. Right. Where he gets to, like, be friendly with everybody because they come in here for the most part. And I'm a small talk guy. And he's also just a nicer guy.

It's between four and eight every year. Oh, so it does change. Yeah. And this is just the first year that these guys are eligible, right? Not all are the first year. Not all of them. Yeah, some of them are up again. Okay.

But some of them, it is their first year. Drew Brees, Eli Manning, Philip Rivers. I wonder how many we would say. Let's see. Let me do my list. Sart. So they're 15 finalists. So I'm going to go, I'm not even going to do Hall of Fame.

I'm just say if I pick out 15 just before I even look at the whole list. Drew Bree's yes, finalist. Eli Manning, yes, finalist. I'll come back to Philip Rivers. Frank Gore, Fred Taylor. I'm going to put Frank Gore as a finalist.

I'm not saying Hall of Fame and in my eight. My eight max, right? Yeah, to make it. Not doing that. This is just 15 finalists. Frank Gore in. Larry Fitzgerald for sure in.

Terry Holt. Tori Holt, excuse me. Not going to put him there. I think Tori Holt is somebody, though, who's not his first year, obviously, being up for it. Steve Smith. Man, Steve Smith was awesome.

It's unfair for me to go yes or no on them. So I'm going to put none in. No one. And I'm going to see where I end up. I'm not smart enough. I do not have the intelligence, the capability to accurately judge these guys. Defense aback, Rodney Harrison. Now, Patriot for sure.

But Rodney Harrison, to me, Steeler? No, Patriot, right? Yeah, but Chargers. Charger, okay. But Patriot, like... Oh, yeah, he's known as a Patriot. Got it.

Yes, yes. No, he's on as a TV guy now. Right. And now my association with him is just on TV all the time. And he's known as a guy that let David Tyree catch that. Pass. But that was such a hard catch. I know.

I'm not blaming him. I'm just saying. I'm going to say my affiliation with Rodney Harrison has become so much television that I've kind of lost his impact as a defensive football player. Do you like them on TV or just kind of... No, I do like him. Okay. So I got to check out of that one.

I can't put him as a finalist. I just know his TV stuff. Dang. It's understandable. Earl Thomas, in. Darren Woodson, the cowboy. In. Not ahead of writing.

Are you putting him in? I'm not going to put him in the 15 yet. I'm going to see where I am. Oh, wow. Luke Kekley, in. And if the guy played six or seven more years, put him in the first year he retires. Break the rule.

Yeah. Kobe him. Although he didn't die. Yeah, it's true. Facts. Luke Kikley, Terrell, Sugg. in Robert Mathis. He played linebacker and defensive line, right?

Yeah, he was the Pass Rush Specialist for the Colts. Is that what they called him? Well, that's what he was known for. Sacks and him and Frini. He played off the ball and on the ball. No, he's mostly on. But I think he would like, it just depends on the whole defensive. Was he never listed as a linebacker?

Would you look? Yeah. Vince Willfork. I'm going to go, yep. Absolutely. Ventatory, yep. Wow. Patriots guys. Well, dude, they won. These guys going in now are the ones that won all those freaking super goals. Because Robert Mathis is listed as a defensive lineman for sure, but I just feel like he played...

I mean, yeah, they might have like... Like stood him up a little bit. He was listed as a linebacker, yeah. And outside. I think it just depends on the defense they were running. Like, I'll argue that, but I can't name a single lineman. I'm like, no. Marshall Yonda.

I've seen a couple openers that were like really awesome but I am not the person that can just go and enjoy a concert of songs I don't know. And so he wants to bring that classical nylon, Willie Nelson, plays the same kind of guitar and he wants to bring in that 90s grunge together with country So his pedals, like the technology he's using is making that acoustic sound a little more electric. But if he just unplugs everything

then it does it just sound like an acoustic guitar? Oh really? I don't want to accuse you accuse you. Acuse you. Acuse you. He didn't want to accuse you. Okay and another question how to do with the pedals because he had them all over the stage. Usually I see him right where the mic is,

but he had him off to the left and the right because he was running around. He'd press it and then run to the other side just keep playing, press another one. So that's what it is. It just makes it sound different. So yeah, so if you're going into, say, like a chorus from a verse, you got to kick in like a distortion or an overdrive. Or if a delay is going somewhere.

You're saying words, though, that I don't think. Oh, I'm so sorry. So sorry. Overdrive. Yeah, overdrive. My bad. So overdrive kind of elevates the sound of the guitar. It gives it a different effect.

Like, you know, you hear a clean sounding guitar. And then you hear like a distorted, like, gz-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-h. Like over-modulation, how we do our stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like something sounds like... And if something's, like, delayed, like, he has a lot of delay stuff and, like, yeah, you know. I was going to say he's got a lot of, like, the reverb sound to it.

Yes, yes. Yeah. He wanted to probably either elevate that effect or just take it completely out, because it's a different part of the song. Okay. So is that like its own... Because it sounded different. Like his music, his style just sounded different.

I enjoyed it. I thought the reverb. I thought the echo was great. But is that like its own... I don't know what I mean? Like style, I guess? I would say so. I mean, I don't see a lot of country artists doing that.

You know, especially like in their recordings and live. Like you don't see Riley Green up there with a bunch of pedals. No. Like he's just acoustic and acoustic. But he's trying to really like, I think Stephen Wilson Jr. was in a lot of rock bands and stuff like that. His wife is actually the lead singer of Sixpence Nun the Richer. Lee Nash is his wife? You know that?

That one. He brought her out when I was there. Lee Nash. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. That's his wife. What? That's crazy.

That's crazy. Yeah, she sang with him that night. She's been in here. Dude, that's the most shocking thing I've heard in days. Right? And I've heard some pretty shocking stuff. Pretty shocking stuff. Yeah.

But we saw the Bengals last year not get in at 9 and 8. But 9, 7 and 1. That one, baby. From that tie. Oh, I think we need the Packers to kind of take a dump too. You need that because you're, dude, you're going to. going to end up costing us so much money in our Don't start. Don't start. Don't start because I'm

I was like ball game and the Cowboys couldn't score. Yeah, and then I was like ball game back. We lose. Dude, Pickens is so good. So good. So good. Which is another thing too.

Like my kids are doing their Christmas list. They all want George Pickens' jerseys. Which, awesome, right? But I don't even know if he's going to be a cowboy. True. They could franchise tag him. Yep. They could just pay him.

I doubt they let him go free agent. There's no way, right? Yeah, you have to tag him. So also with Pickens, I think what helps is there's a wide receiver that's slightly better than him that plays on the other side of him, which keeps everybody from double-teaming him. It's like a pass rusher who has somebody on the other side.

There's a reason that a lot of those guys, other than Miles Gere. But also Miles Garrett has a little help now too on the Cleveland defensive line. Yeah. 30 lines pretty good. Yeah. If you have another great pass rusher,

it's hard for them to double you all game. So it does open it up to get a lot of sacks. Same with these wide receivers. If you've got two really good wide receivers, that number two guy eats because they're doubling up CD, but now they're having to like decide. They're having to roll coverages and double up one or the other before Dallas even figures out who's getting doubled

because those receivers are so good. If you're George Pickens, man, you just made a lot of money. If you were in Pittsburgh, you're just a crazy guy who's going to continue to be high potential, high ceiling guy

that never made it. Probably not worth the problems you cause. In Dallas, one, there's enough problems. You're not the only problem in town. There's a lot of problems. Yep.

And then two, Cid Lam lines up across from you. And he's awesome. Although he did drop a big ball. He's dropping balls, dude. Don't get me started. We've already done this. Well, it was last year.

This is the last year when I was like, Cidlam does not have great hands. Yeah. But he has great hands. He's a great wide. He's a great white wide receiver. He's just dropping balls, like out of nowhere. Piggins has a great hand.

Him and Rogers would have been fun in Pittsburgh, though. Rogers isn't fun. You mean playing together? Yeah, just yelling at each other. And Roger sucks. Yeah. He's going to play with his hurt wrist. He is?

football fans that only remember bad Aaron Rogers. That's a good point. Because I think you can play bad for a couple years, and that's fine. Like Brett Farve, he was actually pretty good with the Jets. He was actually pretty... But he wasn't the same, but you can have a couple bad years in your latter years and be fine because we remember all the good years. If you keep playing for another five to seven years and you suck in all those five to seven years,

young people are just going to remember all the suck. They're not going to remember any of the good. No, I'm telling you, my kids, like the other day, they were asking like, why does this guy still play? Like, why is he, is he good or something? Because I don't get it. There you go. Because they never got to see him be awesome. Yeah, I was like, he was good at one time, guys.

Really good. All right. Tom Brady's the one that did it right, man. Like, he will just, not only did he just keep playing, he won a Super Bowl. some, you know, he was a soft shell of his former self. But you go somewhere with what Bruce Ariens was the coach. The offensive line was good. He had weapons. Like he went somewhere. He did pretty much what Peyton Manning did.

I think Tom Brady was the coach of that team. They would go to the sideline, and sometimes you'd see Aaron and just be like, whatever you want, dude. Like, Peyton Manney went to Denver, and Denver was loaded. Yeah. Oh, yeah. And won Super Bowls. More super, over there.

He's like, it's not good. It's not a great shot. It kind of like to the right of the green. But then it starts kind of looping back.

around. It keeps rolling and rolling. Next thing you know, I get a hole in one. And then he flashes up a picture of him and the ball. And I'm like, did he just say he's been playing for six months and he got a hole in one? Dude, immediately I was pissed. Dude, dude's lying for the sermon. Oh, you think so? He's lying. He didn't have anything to talk about. He's like, I know what I'm saying today. Yeah. I've never like, I'd get happy for people to get hole in Once. If I'm with you, dude, and you get a hole in one, I'm like, let's go. Water. The fact that this dude's been playing for six months and gets a hole in one, I was pissed.

Did you walk out? Was it also, had you lost some bets earlier before? No, it was too early. The game's hadn't started yet. Because I get in moods to, well, I'll fight people on Twitter. It's not even their fault. I wonder if you're mad at your, if Arkansas loses, I'm like, I'm ready to fight. It's starting to be a thing where my kids are like, if I'm in a bad mood, they're like,

oh, dad's bets aren't going well. Oh, man. I'm like, no, that's not it, guys. It's not it. They're going to say that crap in therapy when they get older. It's the fact that you can't turn off the lights when you're out of the bathroom. We knew we had to walk on eggshells when dad's bets were going on. His parlay didn't hit.

Yeah. I would overeat like crazy. That's huge. Now I just am sad. That's the change out. Instead of being like so full and ashamed of myself because I've overeaten, I don't eat it at all.

I don't get it, so I'm sad. It's like either way you're going to be sad. Yeah, so I've traded shame for sadness. That's good. But overall, health wins in this. Health wins. I miss the shame. Yeah.
