This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
In 2023, Bachelor star Clayton Eckerd was accused of fathering twins.
But the pregnancy appeared to be a hoax.
You doctored this particular test twice, Ms. Owens, correct?
I doctored the test ones.
It took an army of internet detectives to uncover a disturbing pattern.
Two more men who'd been through the same thing.
Greg Gillespie and Michael Mianini.
My mind was blown.
I'm Stephanie Young.
this is Love Trapped.
Laura, Scottsdale Police.
As the season continues,
Laura Owens finally faces consequences.

When a group of women discover
they've all dated the same prolific con artist,
they take matters into their own hands.
I vowed, I will be his last target.
He is not going to get away with this.
He's going to get what he deserves.
We always say that trust your girlfriends.
Listen to the girlfriends.
Trust me, babe.
On the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I'm Ikew, I got you.
And I'm I go on.
My next guest, it's Will Farrell.
My dad gave me the best advice ever.
He goes, just give it a shot.
But if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit.
If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration.
It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat.
Just hang in there.
Yeah, it would not be.
Right, it wouldn't be that.
There's a lot of luck.

Always, dude.
Ema.
Always, email, baby.
Go cats.
And it's not that we're mass.
We are Kansas State fans.
I am now.
But that's a glove that you stole.
From Kansas State.
Right.
I didn't necessarily steal it.
I just didn't ask if I could take it.
What if your kid said that?
Then you're stealing.
Exactly.
Yeah, you got me.
Later on this show, we'll talk to head football coach Sunny Dykes from TCU.
Talked about more than just football.
I was very fortunate that one of the guys that was with us before Coach Dikes came in was like,
he's a big music guy.
He knows the guy from train.
And I was like, let's just start with that and see where that takes us.
That was awesome.
And then it turned us into a whole music conversation.
So all that coming up with coach Sunny Dikes.
But now, this is like the last episode before Thanksgiving.
I know.
Why you said?
Because, man, it's the last episode before Thanksgiving.
It's just a sad thing.
Nobody's dying.
I know.
I think so, yeah.
Are we all spending Thanksgiving together?
We should do a Whistles family dinner.
Well, now you tell us once we're in the middle-up doing the show.
All right, let's go to the Tittle Tattle.
With Rivalry Week here, outside of Michigan and Ohio State, what is one game you'd like to attend?
I have to take all personal close bias out, right?
Yes, Arkansas.
Because everybody's waiting so much for Arkansas, Missouri.
That's the game everybody waits for when it comes to rivalry.
I can't wait.
That's the one.
But I can't do Texas OU because it's not rivalry week.
They do that earlier.
So I mean, Alabama Auburn's really good.
The Egg Bowl is also good.
Even if the teams aren't that good.
Mississippi State, that game's like always.
If the game's not good, they're still fights.
That's how you know a rivalry game is good.
People are fighting because it matters.
People mouth them.
I have a big SEC bias, obviously,
because of where I live, the team that I follow.
So I'm going to go Alabama, Auburn, Egg Bowl,
Ole Miss, Mississippi State.
I mean, Florida, Florida State's interesting a bit
because, you know, they got all those recruits there
are looking at both teams, most likely.
And it's like, whomever wins that game
gets to be like, we told you.
Bragging rights.
Yeah, but this year, the Florida State game
without a quarterback,
Clemson, South Carolina would be interesting this year
because if South Carolina wins,
I'll go to a bowl game.
Oh, that'd be cool.
And then what happened last year,
they said that South Carolina had the signs from me,
Michigan to beat Clemson.
They were given those signs because they were,
Michigan wanted Clemson to lose,
so they wouldn't have to face them in the playoff.
I don't even have heard that.
Oh, yeah, baby.
Oh, my gosh.
But if I have to pick one, I'm going to go this year or in general.
Let's say this year.
Oh, this year.
Oregon, Oregon State.
Okay.
Based on where they are as far as how much the game matters this year.
Generally speaking, the SEC wins about like Oregon, Oregon, Oregon State this year.
That should be a, if Oregon loses, and then they went to pack 12 chance.
I think Oregon's going to beat them.
That's true.
Probably.
Probably.
Oregon's playing really good ball.
All right, what else?
Facing your razorbacks this weekend is top 10 ranked Missouri, the biggest surprise of the season.
Yes.
That's it, yes.
Because Missouri's always been like a program that, ha, ha, ha, ha, little Missouri.
Their field sucks.
What's wrong with their field?
You ever seen it?
Uh-uh.
High school field.
Yeah.
Really?
Or like a Division II college field.
Oh, man.
They should upgrade that.
They should.
You're right.
I mean, they're in the SEC.
They should upgrade that.
And I like Missouri, just fine, but I'm saying it.
Their field does suck.
It's like Vanderbilt.
Yeah.
They're building a new one, though.
In the middle of the season.
Right.
I love those TikToks.
People at that game.
Is it Alabama?
Who was that?
Georgia.
Yeah, it's Georgia and Mandy.
And they were like, there's the game.
And they look over.
It's like construction.
They're still working on it.
I would say Missouri is at one.
Louisville is probably two.
Surprising.
And then Arizona, who is supposed to,
just suck.
End up being eight and three.
Yeah.
That's pretty good.
They put it on Utah last weekend.
Yeah.
Do you see, you probably saw, Camer eyes.
He's coming back for a seventh year.
Oh, wow.
Seventh year.
Seventh year.
Seventh year.
Seventh year?
No, stop.
It's probably accurate.
COVID, injury, red shirt,
three years of playing.
That's his seventh year.
Wow.
So he is 40.
Yeah.
41.
They fell a little later.
So, yeah, I would say Missouri is,
but Arkansas is going to beat him.
Oh. Right, right, right.
Win, not covering it, win.
You think?
They'll win, yeah.
Okay.
It's only a seven-point spread, and not only that,
because I'll beat them.
You heard it here first.
Okay.
In honor of Thanksgiving week,
who do you think is the best side dish in the NFL?
What?
So, side dish meaning what?
Meaning the best, like, one-two punch.
Oh, like your Travis Kelsey to Mahomes and your seedy lamb to dad.
I like that.
I like that.
Yeah, I wouldn't want Batman Robin, but instead of side-ditch, whatever.
Hey, you know, I got to get it.
I got it.
I thought you were, like, side chick.
I don't know my mind with there.
I'm going to go.
Two and Tyreek.
Okay.
I think because he's the biggest game changer in the NFL.
And when he was out for just a bit,
because this last week he was hurt with a hand injury for a little bit,
and it was only Waddle.
And they were able to kind of bottle up just Waddle.
But when it's Tyreek and it's Waddle,
and both those guys can freaking fly,
and now they have A-Chane back as well.
But I think Tyreek makes every defense have nightmares
just by himself.
So two in Tyreek.
week is my number one. Eddie, go ahead.
I mean, you're going to have to go
Diamond, Dak, and CD Lamb, baby.
The best hands in the NFL?
Speaking of, hey. Eddie sends me
Instagram constantly
of CDLand making catches.
Yeah, check out those hands.
I said he had too many drops. But he does have
drops. You said you worry about his hands. I'm like, there's
nothing to worry about his hands. I worry that he will drop
balls in prime time.
He did drop one against the Falcons, I thought of you.
But he does. He can't catch, but he also drops
crazy easy ball sometimes. So does.
Justin Jefferson.
Not really.
Well,
no.
Well, he's hurt.
True.
Doesn't it seem like CEDs
been like really good
since we talked about?
Yeah, exactly.
I heard he listens
and we really fired him up.
I think Jerry got him on.
All right,
go ahead.
Last one.
Which Thanksgiving game
are you looking forward to the most?
Come on,
guys.
Is this a question?
But you're a Cowboys fan.
Guys,
it's America's team.
America's team.
You think people are waking up
to watch the Detroit Lions?
Yeah, this year.
The Lions of Packers
with the first game. That's a pretty good game. That's what you watch while you cook.
The 49ers and Seahawks is probably the best game.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I guess so. I guess. Yeah, this year, sure.
Yeah, and the commanders at the Cowboys, obviously.
Man, you look forward to that. I hear you, but the 49ers of Seahawks are probably the game
that if I were just looking at a game that's going to make a difference from here to the end of the season,
seeding, et cetera, it's the last game, 49ers and Seahawks.
That's how long they've been doing that, that last game? That's fairly new, right?
since the dawn of time.
I don't think so.
I have no idea, I did.
At least like 10 years.
Really?
It's been a while.
Yeah, I have no idea.
I don't even know why you'd ask that
because I don't even remember them not doing it.
Really?
I think maybe it's just because after the Cowboys play,
I'm like, all right, we're done.
What are we going to do?
We're going somewhere?
You just never watched the last game?
Never.
My wife wanted to go watch Flowers at the Killer Moon
last weekend.
But then I was like,
why don't I watch it on Thanksgiving?
I have no plan to watch on Thanksgiving for the record.
Do you think she remembers you saying that?
No.
You're banking on that.
Yeah.
Okay.
It's a three hour, four hour movies.
Yeah, yeah, it's an all-nader.
And it was like, it was like a Sunday at 5 o'clock.
And I was like, man, if we go watch it Sunday at 5.
When we get home until 10 o'clock?
I had to miss the late game.
I was like, Thanksgiving it is.
I got a feeling we will not be going on Thanksgiving.
She won't even remember.
That's what I think.
Keep us updated.
That's the tittle tittle tattel.
The stupidest name ever is the tittle tittle tattle with kick.

This is my gift to you
that you can all be thankful.
Early Christmas present?
Nope, it's a Thanksgiving gift.
I got plenty of Christmas
vault too.
Perfect.
Here is your parley
that is going to win.
Ah, yeah, yeah.
Possibly.
Some smiles.
There are no money lines.
I'm going at it hard.
Arkansas plus 7 versus Missouri.
However, Arkansas is going to win the game.
But no money lines.
That's just the rule
that you put on it.
Because I don't want the lesser odds.
Well, that would be, if I took that, it would be better.
But I'm not going to take like a favorite.
Well, because all them underdogs.
Well, okay.
Okay, Arkansas plus seven versus Missouri.
UTSA plus three at Tulane at top 25 two lane.
Top 25, dude, I was going to say, Tulane.
But it's UTSA.
Don't forget that coach will text me back.
What was that spread again?
Plus three.
they think it's going to be a close game
and it's at Tulane.
So there's the two pretty
equally matched teams.
You watch a lot of Tulane UTSA?
Well, has it come on yet?
No, no, no, I mean, just through the season.
I've watched a little bit of UTSA
like one part, like one drive of Tulane.
I haven't seen a two lane game.
I watched one drive.
Okay, good.
That was a highlight.
No, I watched a whole drive.
I bet on it.
I bet on them once and I was watching at the end of the game
to see if they'd cover.
TCU plus 11 and a half at Oklahoma.
Oh my. Nice.
Homer bet.
Oh, for sure. For sure, dude.
Homer back, because we got Coach Snikes on.
That's right.
So there you go.
Hey, enjoy it.
Hey, gobble, gobble.
Thank you, man.
Thank you.
Gobble, gobble.

I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings.
I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up and coming talent.
He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet.
Yeah.
He goes, but there's so much luck involved.
And he's like, just give it a shot.
He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit.

Okay, now it's time for our sit-down with TCU.
Head Football Coach Sonny Dykes.
Coach Dikes actually played baseball in college at Texas Tech
and even coached it for a year in high school
before realizing, eh, not for me.
I think he said to us he didn't want to teach five classes
of like literature or history.
Yeah, because he cared about teaching.
Yeah.
He led TCU to the national championship game
in his first season last year.
He was just like a normal dude.
I really liked him.
We didn't become friends after, though.
No, we didn't.
Sometimes I become friends with them.
They're like, hey, what's up?
Hit me up.
We go babade daub.
I think the reason for that is because his family was in the dining room.
Oh, they were?
And he had taken, yeah, he had just taken a break to come do the interview.
So I think he had to get back to his family.
Well, for sure.
Then we'd be better.
For sure.
For sure.
Yeah, yeah.
You can follow him on Twitter at Coach Sunny Dykes.
Here he is.
TCU, head football coach, Sunny Dykes.
Coach, I was playing golf at, I'm just going to say it.
I don't know.
I don't want to be too cool.
Yeah, yeah.
It was just a regular day.
Yeah, I do it every day.
Well, I was playing in like a tournament there, a celebrity tournament, and this guy comes up to me, and he was super nice.
And he's like, hey, man, how's it going?
And the guy was Pat from Train.
Yeah.
Who ends up being, like, the nicest guy in the whole world.
And I found out you guys are our friends.
We are.
Yeah, we're good buddies.
How do you know Pat?
Kind of a long story.
So Pat, I know Pat through a guy named Doug, who's a sports agent.
And so when I was coaching at Cal, living in the Bay Area, met Doug.
He represented Marchon Lynch and got to know Marchion pretty well.
and this whole group of people.
And he kept telling me, he goes,
man you got to meet Pat,
you guys are going to really hit it off,
going to like each other.
And finally, we kind of ran across each other
and got to know each other.
And then Pat's younger, his wife's younger brother
ended up coming and playing for us at Cal.
And so anyway, long story short,
know each other well and usually try to see each other in the offseason.
Right before football season started,
we went and saw Pat perform in Napa.
had a great concert and kind of that's just as as fru-frew as what I said yeah I know for the record for
the record you've equaled me and fru-frew going to Napa well you know I wouldn't I wasn't able to go
to Pebble Beach yeah but I couldn't get to Napa though so you know and he's still awesome
no he still can sing true truly truly honestly one of the nicest people ever meet and really really
talented guy I mean he like you said he can sing he's got you know I mean they played they played
re-recorded Led Zeppelin too I mean it's it's amazing I mean who can
can sing like Robert Plant. I mean, who does that except Pat Moynihan? Who would even try? I know.
And you listen to it and I mean, they did it an incredible job. So it just tells you how talented he is.
What's the one we heard him sing? Aerosmith? Was it a dream on? I've heard him do dream on.
But I've also heard him do, hey, hey, mom said to where you look. And it's just like, you think it's Robert Plant. Like he's that good. Yeah, he can do it all, man. I mean, the guy's really talented. Can you sing? Not a lick.
Really? Terrible. I'm the worst, worst singer in the world probably. Would you go up if he's like,
Coach, does he call you coach?
Mostly Sonny.
It's like, Coach Sunny, come up and sing Meet Virginia with me, would you?
I'll tell you, I'll tell you funny story.
So he actually came to my 50th birthday party and played a couple of songs.
And my daughter, who at that time was 11, went on stage and sang Hey, Soul Sister with him.
So it was one of the coolest experiences of her life and really a cool thing for me and just again shows you what kind of guy Pat is.
And my daughter can actually sing a little bit, but she didn't get that for me.
No, certainly not for me.
Who's your Mount Rushmore of music that are your favorites?
Oh, man.
You know, love Dave Matthews.
I've seen those guys in concert a million times.
Been a huge U-2 fan, you know, really since 1983.
So I've seen those guys kind of all over the United States, probably over 20 times in concert.
And that's always going to one of their concerts is always a really cool experience.
obviously like train
you know
kind of grew up with the Beastie Boys
used to love the Beastie Boys
a little bit
No this is a crazy thing I heard
That's my playlist
That's my playlist
That's my playlist
This is like I did not expect this coach
I'm be honest
You went you two and Beastie Boys
I just did a thing on Access TV
They were like pick your favorite
Five albums of all time
And one of mine was Beastie Boys
Licensed to Hill
Licensed to Hill
Certainly got to be up there
Yeah
Probably as played
As any album I have
That I've ever had honestly
I did not expect me
either. It's pretty cool. You too? I love this one of my favorite bands. My favorite concert ever,
my biggest concert ever was Pearl Jam opening up for U2 in Hawaii. Yeah. And fun fact, I started my
debt. I got into $40,000 of debt because of that trip. That's, hey, so I'll tell you a funny story.
So I saw U2 at the Rose Bowl, which was awesome and the black eyed peas open for them. That was a great show.
And yeah, actually, you know, it's funny. One of my first times I ever saw U2 was when they came to the Fort Worth
convention center. And I was in college at Texas Tech, and we came over and, and that, and that's,
That's when B.B. King came over and sang with you, with you two.
It was part of rattling hum.
Yeah.
It was really cool.
So got to see them.
And that was actually my first trip ever to Fort Worth.
Wow.
So pretty cool.
Full circle.
Yeah.
I mean, to see B.B. King, though, just by himself would be freaking awesome.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then it was really cool to see those guys on stage.
And, you know, Bano does a great job of always finding somebody local and coming in and
finding, you know, doing something cool with them.
Coach, thanks for your time.
All right.
That's it.
We're done.
That's it. We had no idea. We were going to...
You two, I want to turn this into something else,
but you two have been together forever, Bono, Edge.
All those guys have figured out a way to stay a cohesive unit,
and at times it's got to be difficult because it's a relationship, right?
It is, it is.
And those guys are all super famous and super rich,
and you've got to, I mean, you've got to pat them on the back
because I think, you know, what holds them together,
I think is a mutual respect for each other and a love of music.
And, you know, speaking of them,
I'm going to go see them in the spear in February.
So excited about that, got tickets to go do that.
And after signing day, so excited about that and the whole thing that goes along with it,
because I heard this fear is pretty cool and fired up to go do that in Vegas.
But, yeah, I mean, it's a testament to those guys.
And I think what's always made them special is that they put their music ahead of everything else.
And I think that that's what's kept them together.
Then how do you keep a locker room cohesive when you have guys that are starting to have some notoriety,
starting to go maybe NFL talking about them?
Yeah, you know, it can be difficult.
I think you look at us last year, and, you know, you had the perfect climber that, you know,
Max Duggan loses a starting quarterback job, and then Chandlerler Morris gets hurt at week one,
and then all of a sudden Max takes over as a starter and then ends up in New York and finish the second in the Heisman trophy.
And, you know, it was interesting to see that notoriety start to take place as the season went along.
And Max did such a good job of understanding, look, that if you're saying, you're saying,
successful as a football player, it's because of so many other people. Whether it's teammates,
you know, certainly as a quarterback, you know, having Quentin Johnson help him tremendously,
having a really good offensive line help him tremendously, having Kendrae and all the guys that
we had in the backfield last year, Amari, those guys made a big difference for Max. It made it easy
for him to go be a quarterback. And I think those guys all have to take it in stride and understand
that. And he did such a great job handling it. And what he did, it was so cool, is he built
everybody else up. I mean, he understood, look, I'm a product of their success and I'm a product
because these guys are good players and a great supporting cast, and that's all critical
for a quarterback. But, you know, with NIL and all the crazy stuff happening now, I mean, it's a
different world. And I think you have to try to build a culture every single day. And it comes down to,
you know, the guys, you know, first of all, being transparent, honest with the players and let everybody
know what's going on. And then those guys making sure that they understand that, look, we're going to be
good as a football team if we have a good culture and if the guys get along and and they respect
each other so just like you too i mean you got a you got to number one you got to love football and
number two you have to have a mutual respect for your teammates with the portal creating a lot of new
opportunities you have to constantly recruit the kids that you already have it feels have you have
have you had to change the way that your day-to-day dealings are with the players because of that
You know what's interesting is not really because I always felt like that was our job anyway.
You know what I mean?
I always felt like that if a player played in my program or a program that I coached in,
even when I was an assistant coach, you know, my job was to make those guys feel welcome,
feel important, motivate them, you know, but at the same time, you know, I wanted to have a good
experience.
And so for us, it's the same thing.
You know, when someone comes to TCU, you know, number one, our job's to work.
win football games. We understand that. That's how we're judged. But also, too, I want
their experience to be a great experience and I want their life to be better from that experience.
And so I think our guys pick up on that. I think they know what's important to us as coaches.
And again, it comes down to mutual respect. And we all want the same thing. You know, we want
to play. Those guys want to play on a winning team. I want a coach a winning team. And then I
want those guys to be incredibly successful with what's next in their life, whether it's the
NFL or whether it's law school or medical school or teaching or
coaching or whatever it may be that's next, you know, my job is to prepare those guys for that
as well. And so I think when you take that approach, you know, whether you're doing it
actively or not, you're actually recruiting those guys because, again, you're building that
relationship with them. Coach, I'm not referring to any game in particular, but how do you deal
with bad calls or no calls when knowing you got cheated? The more you argue it, it's not going to change
it. Yeah, it's hard. Yeah, it's hard. I mean, you know,
That's something that I struggle with a little bit.
You know, it's like, you know, you want your players to be successful so badly.
And especially when they put the time and effort in that they put in and the work,
you know, I always believe it's important for young people to be rewarded when they work really, really hard.
Whether it's my daughter who's in the seventh grade right now or one of our players.
You know, they need to see the fruits of their hard work.
And you want it to show up on Saturday because that's where you're,
where it's easy to be seen.
And so, yeah, I mean, you hate it when I called it and go your way
or something bad happens.
But you got to get over it because it's the same old thing.
You know, if you lose your composure as a coach,
then your team has a tendency to lose their composure.
And, you know, everybody's watching you.
And you've got to make sure that you uphold the standard.
And that can be difficult to do, but you've got to find a way to do it.
Do you have to remind yourself at that moment, like just stop talking?
Yeah, just let it go.
Yeah, I mean, you just got to, at some point you say,
okay, look, I got to just walk away.
And it's hard to do sometimes, but I mean, they're not going to change a call.
I'm never seeing anybody go, hey, you know what, you're right?
That wasn't pass interference.
Yeah, we're going to move on.
And so you just got to, you know, you got to, like I said, you got to defend your players and your team,
and then you've got to figure out a way to get over it.
Are there some referees that through the years you've developed a better communication style with?
You know, I think so.
I mean, if you stay in a league long enough, there's always guys that they kind of learn you
and you learn them.
And you do kind of form a mutual respect.
But it comes back to what we talked about earlier.
It's communication, really.
I mean, all you want as a coach is communication.
You want to know, okay, why did they call this?
What did they see?
And then their officials are just like us.
I mean, we make a million mistakes as coaches during ballgames,
and they're going to make some calling the ballgame.
That's just the way it goes sometimes.
It's human nature.
But, yeah, I mean, I always appreciate the guys that are honest
and try to communicate with you the best they can.
We've got to put speakers in the helmets, right?
Yeah.
I mean, it should have happened 15 years ago.
I mean, the fact that we're having this debate in college football right now is laughable.
I mean, this technology's been here for 20 years or longer, and I don't know why we haven't
gone here, gotten here before now, but surely something's going to happen now.
And it's too bad it took all this silliness for it to take place.
I mean, you know, you watch a college football game right now and you got guys in seven different colored shirts.
You have people holding up banners and you have all this stuff.
It's embarrassing.
I mean, it really is.
And there's an easy way to solve it.
And it's by having a communication device, whether it's some wearables, you know, that happen
right now in Major League Baseball or in college baseball or it's, you know, the communication
through the helmet.
One or the other, it needs to take place.
What about halftime, coach?
I mean, when I watch an NFL game, I go walk the dog and I come back.
I'm like, oh, man, it's already started.
I'm a half time.
The NFL is short.
I mean, barely have time to go to the rest of them.
Yeah, it's different college football.
I think the pageantry of college football, you know, the bands and the drill teams and the cheerleading squads and all the things that happen in college football make that part a little bit different.
I mean, the NFL is built for TV.
You know, I think college football is built for fan experience.
And so I think that's a little bit different.
But what do you guys do?
Like, so because you talk to them, you do your halftime speech and all that, but then you just chill after.
Yeah, I mean, you'd be surprised.
You don't have as much time as you think.
By the time you get in there, you know, the offense coaches will go.
and meet together and they'll kind of come up, formulate a game plan,
and defensive coaches will do the same thing.
And, you know, special teams guys making adjustments and trying to figure out, you know,
who's available and who's not and who's banged up.
And so there's a lot of stuff going on, and then you have a chance to really address the players,
you know, the offense, defensive special teams do.
And then all of a sudden, you know, head coach is talking and you're back out.
So it's, it may seem like a while, but by the time it all gets organized,
it takes a little bit of time.
Final three questions.
When you're doing halftime adjustments, do you ever adjust, but then,
find out the team has adjusted your adjustment before. So you're like, we've adjusted, but they knew
you were going to adjust? Yeah. I mean, look, there's halftime adjustments is, it's a real thing,
but I do think in a lot of ways, you know, there's probably more made of that than there actually
is in football in some cases. I mean, you know, you come in, I think a lot of times it's just
kind of clear in the air and it's talking to your players where you have a chance to say, okay,
what are you seeing? You know, what's causing his problems? What are you seeing? And a lot of times it's
it comes down to, again, communication thing where, you know, they said, hey, I need to call this front
a little bit different or I need to make this call and things like that. So, you know, very seldom
where guys coming in and changing the whole offense or defense at halftime, it's usually pretty much
screwdriver adjustments, but obviously they can make a difference.
Coach, did you ever have a backup plan for coaching for career?
Just in case?
Or was football the backup plan for me?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I mean, look, I think I was probably like everybody else.
I always thought, you know, I'll be like a pro football player or a pro baseball player like every kid thinks.
And then you kind of realize that that's not the case.
And, you know, for me, honestly, I wanted to be a pilot.
That's kind of one of the things I was going to go to the Air Force Academy and be a pilot and, you know, didn't work out.
And so football was kind of next.
And so, you know, or coaching was next and thought maybe it was going to be baseball.
And then realized that, you know, coaching baseball wasn't as fun.
coaching football. And, you know, my goal, honestly, was to go someplace I'd moved around a lot
growing up and put some roots down and be a high school coach. And then I started teaching five
sophomore English classes a day. And I realized, man, this may be a little more than I want.
And that's what got me into college football. I took a job at Navarro Junior College for
$288 a month and lived in the dorm and ate for free. And that's kind of how I got in college
football. Were you a good teacher? Because every time I got a football coach, I was like,
you get a great year. Yeah, you know what I worked? I worked hard at it. I mean, it was important to me.
I was teaching an important subject.
I mean, English was, sophomore English was a big deal, and it was important, and I was pretty
passionate about it.
I'm so annoyed if he's my English teacher, and he, like, cared.
Yeah, I worked really hard at it.
I don't know if I was any good or not, but I did.
I worked hard at it.
Final question, this is a tough one.
It's going to be hard for you to answer.
It's going to be hard for me to ask.
But when you two put all those songs on our phones back in the day and they shoved him in our
throat, how did you feel about that?
You know what?
As much as I love you, too, I was kind of even pissed off about it.
Yeah, okay, just making sure.
And I'm still pissed because sometimes I get in my car and all of a sudden there's a random U-2 song playing.
And I'm like, where did this come from?
I don't even know this song.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I had to go there, Coach.
I know that's difficult.
It was free to answer.
It was free, guys.
I'll remind you it was free.
Yeah, but we didn't ask for it.
I know.
It was free.
And I get it.
I get it.
It was a little aggressive maybe on Apple's part.
But, hey, if you're going to put somebody on for free, it might as well be YouTube.
That's right.
Coach, we appreciate you.
Congratulations on all the success on just really turning this program to something special.
Yeah, thank you.
I appreciate it.
This is a great place, special place.
I'm lucky to be here.
It hadn't been, this year hadn't been what we wanted,
but, man, it's a blessing to be here and excited about our future.
Do you even have to move houses?
Yeah, I did.
Oh, moved.
I moved.
I was only about a block from SMU, and so I needed to get over.
Oh, yeah, you had to get out.
I need to get over here fast.
Okay, just making it.
All right, coach, thank you, big fan.
Thanks for having me.
Appreciate you guys.

You guys ready?
Yep.
Number nine, Missouri at Arkansas.
No spreads.
Pick a winner.
Go.
Arkansas.
Arkansas.
Raise their backs.
Wu Pig, baby.
Woo Pig.
Nice.
Any chance Texas Tech beats Texas?
No.
14 points spread, basically.
Yes.
You think so?
Yes.
Just because they hate each other?
Yes.
That's a rivalry.
It's not an official rivalry, but I mean, yeah.
It's a rivalry to Texas Tech.
Correct.
Oregon State at Oregon.
So Oregon State, number 11, number 6, Oregon, is a 14.5 point favorite.
Man, I would take Oregon State in that money.
I'm taking Oregon to win, but it's just a lot of points.
It's just a lot of points.
Are we doing just pick?
You can do whatever you want.
Yeah, I'll just pick Oregon.
I think Oregon's going to cover it here.
I think Oregon's going to win.
I don't know.
Oof.
I wouldn't touch that game if I were betting on Oregon to cover.
That 14 and a half is so many points, though.
where you just hold on for dear life the first quarter and a half.
If you can get through that,
then you feel like you can cover that over two touchdowns.
But even then I miss a lot.
Then I lie, I bet and lose everything.
Ohio State of Michigan, Michigan's a four-point favorite.
Go, I got Ohio State.
Michigan.
Oh, you're going to stick with that one?
Mm-hmm.
Kentucky at Louisville.
Louisville's seven-point favorite.
I'm taking Kentucky.
Louisville.

Florida State is an 11.5 point favorite at Florida.
That's a lot.
It's a lot.
And Florida looked pretty good against Missouri.
Yeah.
Florida State doesn't have a quarterback.
Yeah.
Well, they do, but there's going to be somebody in that.
There's a guy.
Yeah.
Blaine.
I mean, Florida State should win the game.
I just wouldn't touch that game.
I agree.
Yeah.
Same.
Georgia's going to roll Georgia Tech.
All right.
You want to do an NFL picks?
Oh, this one counts.
Let's go, baby.
Here we go.
Is this the last week for money?
Somebody answered the question.
This is a week 12.
Yeah.
So then 13, we start the playoff.
Yeah.
So yes.
Last week for money.
If you finish in the last place, you have to put $10 in.

49ers at Seahawks.
Niners.
Niners.
Nineers.
I mean, somebody's going to have to go a different direction, right?
That's why I keep calling you different times.
We can all do it at the same time.
No, no.
But what I'm saying is if we all pick the same teams,
we know how it works.
Do we all pitch in money?
just because there's going to be...
Somebody old old is.
Yeah, we got plenty of game to choose from.
Dolphins at Jets.
On the count of three, say it.

because you didn't know.
Saints at Falcons.

Okay.
I said saints.
Who said Saints?
I said Saints.
Two Saints.
Two Falcons.
Falcons.
I was going to do that.
Steelers at
Bangles, the Steelers are a one point favorite.
I think you should point on this one.
I was going to say at the same time.
We're going to be different.
I know that's why I want to say at the same time.
Come on.
One, two, three.
Steelers.
Steelers.
Steelers.

Thanks, bones.

Can you repeat the question?
Please.
You know it?
I'm pretty sure.
What's the term used for the play where the quarterback is tackled?

It's all you.
I mean, I believe it's the National Football Conference.
Okay.
Yeah.
What would you have you said?
Well, I thought you said AFC, and I was going to say America's famous chicken.
You're joking, right?
NFC, Eddie is?
National Football Conference.
Correct.
See, I don't know if he's joking or not.
Kevin, what's the term for a play where the offense attempts a short, quick pass to gain yards after the catch, sometimes behind the line of scrimmage?
Say it again?
What's the term for a play where the offense attempts a short, quick pass to gain yards right after the catch, sometimes behind the line of scrimmage.
A screen.
Correct.
We've gotten that wrong.
You two.
What does AFC stand for in the NFL?
Don't.

Which quarterback is known as Broadway Joe?
You two?
Wait, wait, don't guess it.
We can talk.
Let's talk about it.
This isn't a guess, bones.
I want to hear you talking out loud, though.
Which quarterback was known as Broadway Joe?
Is he referenced in the movie?
Yeah, you're talking to each other.
You can talk on a microphone.
The microphone, really?
It's not very much secretive.
What did you say?
Is it referenced in the Waterboy?
What do you say in the water boy?
There's a high-quality H-Tool.
No, they're in the stands.
They're talking about it.
He's like, I haven't seen a quarterback like that since.
Broadway Joe?
No.
They're talking about somebody with the nickname.
But you can say whatever you want.
You can say whatever you want.
You can say whatever you want.
John Montana?
Is it John Montana?
Do you think it's Joe Montana?
Where in Joe Montana is the Broadway part?
Absolutely no clue.
Maybe he's just a star on the field, so they said Broadway.
Like a Broadway star?
Yeah, maybe.
Okay.
So who is known as Broadway Joe?
You want to answer it?
Yeah.
After all that conversation is going to Joe Namath.
Correct.
Okay.
Wow, wow.
I've never sure you're listed.
Joe Montania.
What team is known for their dog pound fan section, Kevin?
The Browns.
What's the nickname of the Minnesota Vikings defensive line in the late 1960s and early 1970s?
Oh, man.
That starts with purple.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, I think that's it.
Unless it's the purple nerple.
What do you guys think it is?
Go ahead.
Purple people eaters.
Right.
Nice, dude.
Come on.
That's surprised you knew that, really.
Come on.
Did you know that as?
That was our team name in Dodgeball in like middle school, man.
That's awesome.
What team is known for their Monsters of the Midway Defense that was in the 1980s?
Kevin?
I'm going to go with the Bears.
Correct.
The Monsters of the Midway.
Who is the only player to win five Super Bowl MVP awards?
I mean, it's got to be Brady, right?
I can't think of it.
I mean, I can think of other people.
It's five MVP's.
Yeah, it's Tom.
We're going with Tom Brady.
Correct.
Look, idiots, man.
I mean, Kevin.
answers it before you even finish the point we have to talk about it who holds the record for
most career touchdown passes and NFL history Kevin yeah it's Tommy

Tommy Brady who is the only quarterback to lead two different teams to Super Bowl
victories you two okay yeah right yeah the Colts and the

We're on the same page.
He doesn't want to answer, dude.
I don't know the answer.
What's the page?
Pass.
Go Peyton Manning.
Correct.
Colts and Broncos.
And Tom Brady?
Oh, yeah, I guess Tom Brady would be one, too.
And Tom Brady, yeah.
Well, hey, the question...
This question must have been written five years ago, do that.
Give the internet a break.
We'd already done two Tommy's.
That's true.
Good job, though.
You're a Patriots fan.
You are very sensitive for that.
Just making sure we know.
Which NFL teams have won the most Super Bowls?
There are two of them with six each.
It is the Steelers and the Patriots.
Correct.
Come on.
Who is the all-time leading rusher in NFL history, you two?
Here we go.
The all-time leading rusher.
Who would you go with?
See.
I mean, who...
I would always think that, like, Walt...
What?
Talk on there?
Oh, yeah.
Sorry, I keep thinking it's a secret.
Adrian Peterson?
He can't steal from you.
So you guys can say what we're doing.
I mean, that sounds good.
I would have guessed, like, Walter Pates.
but that's so old.
Who is that?
Who is that?
Who is that?
Long, long, long time ago.
What is Walter?
But I feel like I remember Adrian Peterson
breaking that record maybe?
Sure, man.
Because he ran for like 80 years.
The all-time leading Russia and NFL history.
Yeah, I'm going to go with Reed on this one.
Oh, really?
I thought you were joking.
All right.
Adrian Peterson.
Oh, we got it wrong.
Kevin.
Eddie, you should be ashamed of yourself.
You should be ashamed of yourself right now.
It's Emmett.
It's Emmett Smith?
Yeah.
Wow.
I was at the game when he broke it against Seattle.
You were there?
Really?
They lost the game and it was awkward.
It was awkward.
It was weird.
You lose.
Oh my gosh.
It's terrible.
On a Dallas Cowboy question.
I thought you were bait and read again.
Wow.
Wow.
That's a bad way to go.
On your own team.
Hey, who guessed that?
My teammate did.
No, but you're a bad way.
You thought it was going to be...
No, he's blaming the...
Walter Peterson.
Just one of the...
Adrian Peterson has had most
Rush Yards in a single game.
That's it.
No, don't be doing that's it.
That's what we're thinking about.
That's what it was.
Kevin, you're going to be the winner here.
I can...
No.
I can ask you the...
He's got to get this right.
Who got the first question?
I did.
Yeah, so you guys missed.
Oh.
Kevin, you can double your money
if you get all the rest of them right.
How many more we got?
3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12 or something like that.
Oh, 12.
Well, you've gotten more than that right already, and I didn't make the questions.
So if you want to double your money and get all 12 right, you can.
Send her home.
I don't know what that means.
Double her up.
Okay.
Here we go.
Can we get the game show music, please?
Who holds the record for most career receptions in NFL history?
Jerry Rice.
Correct.
The steel curtain is what team?
The Steelers.
Correct.
What's the term for a play where the quarterback throws the ball to a receiver who then laterals it to another player?
Hook and ladder.
Or lateral.
I'll accept it.
I'll accept it, yeah.
Who won the very first Super Bowl in 1967?
Packers.
Correct.
Nice job.
I was there.
What team did the New England Patriots
defeat in Super Bowl 36 to start their dynasty?
That would be the greatest show on turf, the Rams.
Who plays their home games at Allegiant Stadium?
The Raiders.
He may run all these.
This guy's real good.
Who is the only player to win a hundred?
Heisman trophy, a national college football title,
a Super Bowl, and a Super Bowl MVP award,
and the NFL MVP.
Why not?
Joe Cool, Joe Namath.
Not Joe Namath.
Sorry, Joe Montana.
Joe Montana.
Joe Montana.
Wow.
Wow.
Montana win a Heisman.
Mr. Broadway.
Another name.
Wow.
Hold on a minute.
Do I accept Joe Montana guys or not?
He said Namath.
You tell me.
I said Joe Cool Joe.
I just had them from Namath.
What would you accept?
He knows the answer.
Would you accept Joe Montana guys?
I will accept it. Read.
Yeah.
Kevin, would you accept Joe Montana if you were them on you?
Yeah. Okay, well the answer is Marcus Allen.
Is it really?
Oh, wow.
I don't think Joe Montana won the Heismel.
Oh, man.
Damn.
Lost all your money.
Let's see if you got the rest of them.
Okay.
Who's the only player to have won the NFL defensive player of the year three times?
81, 82, and 86 with the Giants.
It's got to be Lawrence Taylor.
Yeah. Who's the all-time leader in career field goals made the NFL?
Hmm.
That was a long time ago.
That was a long time ago.
Most career field goals.
Woof.
It's got to be something.
Oh, Vinutary.
Correct.
Yeah, what am I team?
Who's the all-time leader in career passing yards for the New York Giants?
Oh.
Oh.
Wait, passing yards?
Mm-hmm.
So you said.
I want to say Eli, but that seems too obvious.
I'm going to go.
Yeah, it's got to be Eli.
Correct.
Okay.
Who else were you thinking?
Phil Sims.
Okay.
That's good.
Daniel Jones.
Interesting.
And this would have been the final question.
Who's the all-time leader in career sacks for the Baltimore Ravens?
Thorell Suggs?
Correct.
Thanks a good one.
Good job, man.
The Joe Montanian.
Montana got here.
Marcus Allen.
I would never guess that.
I met Marcus Allen.
Like three or four months ago.
Really?
Where were you?
Playing golf.
And he was just chilling?
It's a celebrity tournament.
Wow.
Cool dude.
Still big dude?
Older, but yeah.
And he was very nice.
I don't know about cool, but he was older and nice.
Could he still run fast?
We ran like three plays and they were all draws.
So I really couldn't, really didn't show off his speed.
Was he carrying all his awards?
Yeah, he had him all his backpack.
He's pulled him out past him.
What are he in the Super Bowl?
What team was he on?
Was the Raiders?
Was he with the Raiders when they won?
With Madden?
I guess so.
Hey, sounds good to me.
Yeah, I guess.
Everybody going to have a good Thanksgiving?
Yes.
Yeah.
I'm going to a UCF game.
You get the set up?
Yeah, I got all set out.
We're going to take the boys to see UCF versus Houston in Orlando.
Man. Can't wait. That's really cool.
You, Reedy?
I'm gonna go see the girl.
Somebody said they saw a picture of Reed and they were like,
dang, you're full grown.
I was like, cool, man.
You ever think you were like me?
Cool.
You ever think you'd be part of a sports show,
Reed, since you're not really a big sports fan?
Absolutely not.
No.
But it's fun. I love it.
I'm the guy that doesn't know anything.
That used to the Eddie's job, but Eddie's actually quite...
Yeah.
I mean, I would say thanks to Draft Kings.
Really, because once I started gambling on games,
like I just watch every single game.
It's like fantasy all of a sudden.
Everybody.
From the biggest conference to the smallest conference, man.
I'm watching all the game.
Kevin.
What you got?
No plans early.
Going to a friend's house, but are you staying here?
Yeah, I'll be local.
Staying around.
It's a lot to travel on the holidays.
You know, Abby can't watch your dog, right?
Yeah, we got someone.
Okay.
Why?
Because she's watching yours.
No, she can't watch mine either.
Really?
No, no one's watching my dog.
We're gone that day.
We'll have somebody at the house.
Okay.
But I have to have people rotating in and out.
Oh.
So we have to have Kevin go by there for a little bit for a few hours.
Let me know.
You trust Kevin at the pad?
Well, we have somebody staying there every night.
Who is it?
Well, let's just say it rhymes with Runch Brocks.
Okay, good that.
It's not, trust me.
All right, that's it.
Promises?
Yeah.
Promises.
Yeah.
My promise is going to be UTSA again.
I love it.
Plus three.
They're playing Tulane, Top 25, Tulane.
You guys made fun of me for that one.
But that's my promise this week.
UTSA plus.
It's our last week
for the money
and then next week
we will pick games
and whoever does the best
the last place person
gets eliminated
and the three stay in
for the money.
Everybody good?
How much do we think
is in the broken promises jar?
About 225.
Oh.
Yeah.
Give or take 20 or 40.
I saw you're trying to count it
but it's like a...
That's hard.
Gumballs.
Well, it's kind of like
a sailboat in a bottle
once it's in there
you can't get it out
you can't get this money out.
It's sealed shut.
You have to break it.
Yeah.
I get YouTube.
PSA plus three.
Reed?
I think I'm going to go.
Do you even know?
Yeah.
Yeah, I was thinking of two teams, but I think I'm going to do dolphins minus eight against the Jets.
Pretty good.
Yeah, I like that.
I like that one too.
Eddie?
Can I take a Monday game?
Can I take the next Monday game?
No, because that would roll over into the next.
Oh, man.
Okay, well, I guess I will take the same one Reed took, which is the dolphins, minus eight.
Kevin.
I'm going to go with your guys' cowboys.
Oh.
Oh, yeah?
Cowboys?
Yeah.
I'm going to jump on that cowboy train.
It's minus 11 commanders.
I think the commanders are sealing it in now.
That's a division game.
I know.
Hey, Mikey, do you think that you have any sort of foam off or not wanting to play in a gambling game?
No, I don't like gambling at all.
No, I don't get enjoyment out of it.
I like seeing how much you spend on it and hearing your report.
Yeah, that's fun for me.
That is fun.
Yeah, that's a different animal.
I'm almost, what do you mean?
Like, how hard do you go?
that's like a fantasy for us. You understand?
I don't feel like I go that hard.
Oh, you go hard.
Dude, when you send me like screenshots of winnings
and then I want to send mine back,
mine are like $5 to win for you.
The amount of money is irrelevant.
It's the amount of money
versus the amount of money you put in.
Don't understand what you're saying.
If you make a $5 bet
and you win $80 from that $5 bet
on some really cool parlay,
I think that's cooler than if I make a $50
bet and make $53.
But you're making me.
more than we are because we're risking.
But I'm also risking way more.
Correct. That's why it's like, it's exciting.
Yeah, I get it could be exciting.
But I'm saying I think it's cooler if you guys want a big bet.
Yeah.
It's way riskier.
We just haven't really hit that one yet.
Yeah, I know.
We're overdue for that one.
I think I'm like 60 grand in.
See?
Heart's pumping.
That's the number I'm talking about.
60 grand.
And I'm trying to get back to even this week.
You can do it.
Yeah, you're going to do it.
I felt like had a really good year except for two freaking
bets that I just went straight
during the game.
Like I just went and it was like double down,
double down, double down.
Are you still playing drive results?
Rare.
Only if, no, no.
Man, every once in a while.
I feel like I've got it.
You got it when a quarterback
ends up breaking his arm or something.
Just keep betting punt.
Hunt.
And I believe that's it.
Anybody have anything else I want to say?
No,
no,
go Arkansas,
go Cowboys.
Go Cowboys!
Do you want the Patriots to win?
This week, yeah, against the Giants?
Yes.
You do.
If we can beat two teams,
the Giants and Jets,
I'm cool.
But you're going to hurt your drafts.
That's all right.
We keep losing,
and we're still in the same spot
we were like a month ago.
But if you win,
you'll for sure move.
Because you can't really go,
it's hard to go closer to the worst,
if other people are worse.
But it's easier to go closer to the better if you win.
All those teams that sucks
are still losing.
But we can't lose the Giants.
Okay.
Anybody about the Giants and the Jets.
And is Parcells are going to stay?
Do you want them to stay?
Parcells?
Excuse me.
Velichette.
Vellichet.
Giants, man.
He said giants.
I went right to Parcells.
There's not even a coach.
Tuna?
Yes.
It's been like 10 years.
Go ahead.
I'm tired.
I'm still torn.
I'm still torn.
50-50.
If they said, you get to make the decision.
It depends who they have a minor replacement.
No.
No.
You get to make.
Robert Kraft.
Robert Kraft on line too.
Hey, Kevin.
I'm going into the massage parlor in a second
But before I go in, I'd like to get your advice
Hold on one second, Bertha
Should we hire a new coach?
We don't know who it is yet
And that means we have to fire Mr. Belichick
But it's up to you.
Well, Mr. Kraft, I think
We have the opportunity to start over.
Mac Jones has got to go.
Everyone's got to go clean house.
Let's do it.
You're out.
Wow.
No lotion this time.
That's disgusting, man.
Oh, man.
Straight dry.
Clean house.
Thank you all.
Eddie, blow the whistle.
We'll see you guys.
Here we go.
That's a string, dude.
We're all drunk.
All right.
Thank you guys.
See you next time.
