Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. Evil, wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder take place by Krivac and DePippo. Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse,
Starting point is 00:00:26 appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum. I said I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grave. We're here since everyone has a podcast, we want it to as well. And we've had some incredible guests so far. And now our good friend Nile Horn is joining the show. How's it going, boys?
Starting point is 00:02:12 Hey, Niall. It was the same thing with Slow Hands. Slow Hands is not about anything else, really, is it? You know, or taste so good can't be about food. You do the same, Nick, with some of the stuff that you've done. You too, Joe. Drop what you're doing and listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your podcasts. Blow it.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Hey, so week one is going to be Patriots and Seahawks. That's fun. Go. Kevin's a massive Patriots fan. So it's fun for us. I think if I'm a Patriots fan, I don't want that. Because you're going to get drummed. You think so?
Starting point is 00:03:07 I would think so. I guess the benefit is it's week one and everybody's a little off-kilter week one. But the Seahawks are just such a better team. The Patriots, not that they weren't a good team, but there were some things that really fell their way to get to the Super Bowl, including playing a quarter, well, the second-string quarterback for Denver.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Yeah. And off-field drama. Yeah. the variable, that is not going to die. It's not going to die. So are you excited about that? Yeah, I am excited because that means that if you're playing week one, first game, prime time, it means your team is relevant and you are good.
Starting point is 00:03:41 It means your team was relevant last year for sure. Because a lot of times it is the Super Bowl repeat, right? I don't know. A lot of times it's either the Super Bowl repeat or like one of the championship. So that's fun. I just kind of felt bad for Kevin. He's excited about it. Yeah, I'm ready.
Starting point is 00:03:58 Because I feel like it's like a revenge game. Mm-hmm. And we have a good shot. To your point, week one, you never know what's going to happen in week one. And they have a new team. We have a new team. And I think the Patriots are going to play pissed off this year. I know that the schedule is going to be a lot harder.
Starting point is 00:04:12 But, man, I'm ready. Hold on. It's a revenge game from the Super Bowl. Can there be a revenge game from the ultimate game? Well, yeah, you lost. So you're going to get revenge. It's a different stage. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Well, I'm anxious to see if Ravel, keeps his job. Yeah. The longer this lingers, the more the chances are he does not remain the coach. I've never thought he wasn't going to be the coach. I would have said 99% chance he stays the coach
Starting point is 00:04:42 a week after the Rusini stuff. Now I'm going to say 68% chance he stays the coach. And what would it be? Just because it's such a distraction from the team? There's just new stuff that keeps coming up and no owner wants a distraction. Luckily for him, he went to the Super Bowl last year. I think had they fell out in the wild car round,
Starting point is 00:05:01 I don't think he'd have his job still. Do you, Kevin? No, I don't think so either. Especially if they miss the playoffs. It's too much. It really is. It just keeps coming and coming. So I pray, I wake up every day and I pray that there's no more photos being leaked today
Starting point is 00:05:16 so he can keep his job and our team can be good. Did you see the picture of her kissing her husband? I did on Mother's Day. Oh, a recent picture. It was for sure set up. but it was taken by a bystander in public It's an interesting person to take it Yeah, yes, yes
Starting point is 00:05:33 Okay, a bystander But they kind of staged it to where they knew They were being looked at Like you could see the wedding ring on He was kissing her on the mouth His hat was backwards So he could see his face She had a kid in her hands
Starting point is 00:05:46 Oh, I didn't remember that part Yeah, she had one kid She was holding one kid so yeah I hope he gets to keep his job I hope the Rusini family stays together and stronger from it I hope the story goes away
Starting point is 00:06:01 yeah there was a time when I was entertained by it now I feel bad for them yeah man I'm with you now it's like woof we're real life it was real life to begin with but for that kind of stuff I like to see a glimpse of it and then go on and fix it I think the two reasons that it continues to exist
Starting point is 00:06:18 are number one they obviously lied about it at the beginning because they released that statement and they were like, no, girls trip, driving up, we just happen to see each other, two old friends. At this point, we can all agree, that is a blatant lie, right? Such a lie.
Starting point is 00:06:35 And so when you lie, what it does is it encourages people to prove you're lying. So the story continues, it's just festering, right? So that's one reason that it is still existing. And the second is that TMZ didn't break it. And so now TMZ wants to prove, that they still have their chops because I believe the New York Post broke the story. Oh, I didn't realize that.
Starting point is 00:06:56 And now it's TMZ that continues it because they weren't the breaker of the story. So they want to continue to prove, okay, we didn't break it. But no, no, guys, we're still good at this. I think that's been a part of it too. Kevin, your thoughts on that. Yeah, that's a good point. I haven't really thought about that, actually, because I know that New York Post did break it. And now everything that has trickled after has been TMZ for the most part, I believe.
Starting point is 00:07:18 So I haven't even thought about that. And they are ruthless. Yeah, and they're embarrassed because they weren't the ones to break the story. I think they actually passed on the pictures because whomever was shopping them was a low number they were shopping them for.
Starting point is 00:07:31 I believe if I read correctly and I may not have, but I think I did, I think they passed on the pictures. And it ended up being this massive story and they're like, oh, we look like fools because that's our beat. Just gossip, cheating, celebrities and we're not the people owning it.
Starting point is 00:07:47 So what else is making this story last? Like, is it the fact, too, that this has been going on for so long that we're finding out that, man, they've been at this forever. If they just came out immediately and they were like, oh, yep, we got caught,
Starting point is 00:08:01 that sucks, I'll do better. This story doesn't go past that. Yeah. Except in the NFL circle. That's the only place that exists, but it doesn't exist like this because it's not really a pop culture story. You got an NFL coach
Starting point is 00:08:13 that's never been in the popular culture news. And you got someone that's even less famous than him that's only known in the NFL circle. So none of that should have broke and crossed over. And so the reason it did is because they got caught lying about it. So, yeah, it's a bizarre story. I'd like for it to go away. I feel bad now.
Starting point is 00:08:35 I've been reporting on it way, way, way less because I do feel bad for them. But now that football season is starting, you don't think he's going to get that everywhere he goes? Yeah, signs. It's going to be everywhere. Yeah, be brutal. People yelling at them. Anyway, congrats on week one, Kevin.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Hey, thanks. Do you guys, and this is a real question, it's not, do you want to? Do you plan to go to any games this year? Man, I hadn't planned on it at all. However, when the schedule came out, and this just happened to be a thing because my son, it turns 13 in September. And all my boys, when they turned 13, we told them, like, pick one place in the United States to go that you want to visit and we will take you there.
Starting point is 00:09:14 It's kind of like your 13-year-old present, you know, you're whatever, you're growing up, go see the world. So my son had already picked New York City as the place he wants to go when he turns 13. That's in September. The schedule comes out and the Cowboys are playing the Giants in New York City. And now he's like, Dad, do you think we can do this? That would be cool for you too.
Starting point is 00:09:36 Oh, it would be great. However, is it dangerous in there for visiting teams? No. Like, I would never go see him in Philly. Like, I would never go see the Cowboys in Philly. You can even do that. If you're not fighting anybody, it's not. going to be dangerous. The only place I would
Starting point is 00:09:51 ever worry of any stadium of any team period in all United States sports, and I wouldn't even worry because I would go. But the only place that I would worry if I were wearing opposing gear, that anything bad could happen to me is blank and it's not Philly.
Starting point is 00:10:07 Where do you think it is? Mike? Tennessee? No. I, SEC fans are awesome. Generally speaking, there's some rotten batches. There's rotten batches everywhere. And usually it's drunkenness. But Oh, you're not NFL? I'm just any pro sports team.
Starting point is 00:10:22 I was thinking like the Raiders man in Oakland, that would have been bad for sure. No, they're awesome too. They're just passionate. If you don't try to like fight somebody or drunk, nobody really messes with folks. Okay, so I'm thinking college now. Where would it be dangerous?
Starting point is 00:10:38 I don't know. It's not college. I don't feel like, no, colleges are awesome. I've been to some situations. Texas, they were really rude to me, but they were really drunk and we were winning. Like all, seated in a weird place.
Starting point is 00:10:51 Like, there were a lot of factors that went, that went down for that to happen. But it's rare. But we're, the only place I would worry. So Kevin, you want to take a shot? Yeah, Dodgers Stadium? That's exactly it.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Dodgers? If I were rooting for the opposing team and I had on gear, let's just say, I have San Francisco Giants gear on. And I'm walking out, that's the only place I would be like, hmm, I should just kind of look around. Yeah, really.
Starting point is 00:11:18 That's it. of all of pro sports. Have you been to a game? Never been. And when I watch on TV, I guess I really don't see a lot of visiting jerseys. No, I think it's just what you hear about afterward and like the parking lots.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Because a lot of those fights tend to be after the games in the parking lots. And it also is probably drunk people. It's probably people that are malved and they won. The Dodgers lost. You got fans. But that's the only place I would be concerned. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:11:42 Maybe my Instagram algorithm is all in fights. And I'm getting a lot of fights at sports places. Yeah, people drink. And they don't. care of kids are around. So I'm like, man, are they going to beat me up in front of my kid if I go to a Giants game? But they're not if you don't get Maldi back. Because that would be the worst. My dad would be like, my dad got his butt kicked. Kevin, you live in Southern California. Does the Dodgers thing make sense to you? Yeah, absolutely. I actually did go to a 2018 World Series game when they're playing
Starting point is 00:12:07 the Red Sox. I think it's game four, I believe. And the Red Sox came back and won that game. Dodgers fans were pissed. And I knew, my dad knew, and our friend knew, like, don't say anything while walking out, and then there was my drunk brother just sitting there just screaming, oh yeah, about those red socks. And we had to tell him so many times, dude, shut up, we're going to get killed here. Did you get beat up? No, we didn't, but there was definitely some people that
Starting point is 00:12:30 you could tell the look in their eye they wanted to. It's alcohol that does it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then if you're already generally living on edge, and then it's the alcohol, and then it's you're obnoxious while you're drunk, because you're just not going to get beat up for wearing another team's uniform walking out of any stadium. You're just not. No one's that mad. I should say that. There have been situations where people have walked up
Starting point is 00:12:54 and punched people. Oh, and the guy got that out of nowhere. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's rare. That's just somebody really drunk. Yeah. And that was a Philly fan. I'm not a Philly. Yeah, it's a Eagles fan. So I don't know. I don't know that that's true. I think it was. Oh, I don't know. I don't know a specific instance. I've just heard of those type stories where people just punch. Dude, I remember. And I think he got arrested and everything. It was a bad deal. I think you're just fighting anti-Filly right now more than anything. I'll definitely look at the prices. I mean, season opener in New York against the Cowboys,
Starting point is 00:13:25 I feel like that's a pricey ticket, but I'm going to look into it because that would be amazing for both of us. Something that the UFL is doing, which I like, is that they are allowing refs to be interviewed about questionable calls after games. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:13:38 I love that. Yeah, and remember, the kickoff rule was first, like, an XFL rule, and they can use these leagues to test out. certain things, see how they do, possibly move them up. It's basically the Taco Bell Test Kitchen. Yes, yes. So the UFL, which is pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:13:57 They are, even during games, sideline reporters can approach the officiating crew and interview them in certain spots of the game. And then referees can explain what actually happened with calls that appear to be controversial. It also gives fans a peek behind the curtain. It gives perspective on the decision making. And then even afterward, they can answer questions
Starting point is 00:14:18 about it, which I think is great. And I think in the age of betting, I think this needs to happen. Yes. Pre-bedding, uh, referees are kind of unicorns. Who knows if they're real or not. They're making decisions. They disappear. We don't even know what they look like in real life. Now with betting, I think there needs to be explanations, even on wrong calls. It's like what they saw and why. Otherwise, people will go, oh, the gambling is affecting it and it's rigged. Because I don't think it is. I think there are certain players that will do things. And we've seen those players get arrested. Yes.
Starting point is 00:14:52 Like if it's under two rebounds and somebody puts a million dollars on under two rebounds for Terry Rozier. Yeah, that's a fishy. And I'm just making up a story here. Yeah, that screams fish. So I do like that. That's really cool. But as fans, man, we have to just take that for what it is. Like, accept it. If a ref says like, yeah, he didn't catch the ball. like he didn't have his feet in, whatever,
Starting point is 00:15:17 then we can no longer argue. No, he was a catch. Like, no, no, we lost because of that call. If he says what it is and everyone agrees, like we have to just take it for what it is. And you think fans are just going to take it for what it is. No, but there's no chance. We should.
Starting point is 00:15:29 There's no chance. The other thing was I wanted to acknowledge was Kevin's twins are a year old. Wow. That's wild. Yeah. Crazy, guys. Time flies. It does.
Starting point is 00:15:41 You're already feeling it, I'm sure, man. It's crazy. I saw your Instagram. And at first, it was Kevin talking about his babies, and I was like, please don't be one of these influencer type things again. I know. And I'm all for it. Like, do your thing.
Starting point is 00:15:53 But a bit I was like, oh, it's kind of, sometimes I kind of get, it's a little cringy. But it's got to be cringy, right? Do it till it works. Damn, man, it's part of it. But I was like, oh, no. And then he's like, they're one. I was like, oh, that's awesome. He's not trying to like do bottle station in or whatever he does.
Starting point is 00:16:09 But. Drink station. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Congratulations, man. That's really cool. Thank you. Yeah. It's crazy to think about.
Starting point is 00:16:16 And I was talking to my wife about it and it's like they're no longer, you know, eight months old, eight and a half months old. Now it's like they're a year old. So you put the year on it, which is just wild to wrap our head around because it seemed like we were never, ever going to get there. And we're here. It's going to take a while to get used to, but it's just crazy to think about. Watch out though because some parents still do the, oh, yeah, my son's 14 months old. I'm like, oh, what is that? 12 plus two.
Starting point is 00:16:40 Oh, okay. You have trouble with Matt. You have trouble with Matt, though. Because he's right. I love it when you get to that year point because yeah, my kids won, my kids too. When you get rid of those months, dude, it gets so complicated. Do you have trouble with military time?
Starting point is 00:16:53 I don't even try military time. That try. Do you have anything in military time? No, but if somebody says the time, I know exactly what time it is. Okay. If it's like 16, 20, what's that? Give me a second. 12, 13, 14, 15, 6, that's 4 o'clock, 420.
Starting point is 00:17:08 420. Is that right? Yeah, you got there. Yeah, I have to count it out. Like 1917. Oh boy. 16 was four. So,
Starting point is 00:17:17 seven, what was the minute? Yeah, 17. Seven, yeah, seven, 17. The easy way to do it is 12, right?
Starting point is 00:17:31 Yeah, that's the clock. And then anything plus 12 just starts over at one. Explain that. Thirteen hundred hours? One o'clock. Yeah, one o'clock. Yeah, 14, two.
Starting point is 00:17:40 15, three. On down. Is that not how it goes in your head? I just have to count it out. I start at 12, but then if you give me a 19. I'm like, oh, great. 19 minus 12 is.
Starting point is 00:17:51 Oh, see, I'd rather go 24 minus, go to the 24 and then minus 19. I think you're making it more difficult. Really? I just subtract two from it. What do you mean? If it's 19, you just say minus 2 at 17, so I just say 7.
Starting point is 00:18:04 So you're doing minus 12 then? Yeah. Hold on. It's easier in my head, though. Yeah. So if it's 15. We all have a way that works. So it's 15 minus 2.
Starting point is 00:18:12 So 5 minus 2 is 3, so it's 3 o'clock. Yeah, if you don't. So you'd really just be doing the two off the back number, not the whole thing. That's legit, Mike. I could do that. I've never heard that. So 21, 100 hours is? Okay, 21.
Starting point is 00:18:27 Oh, negative one. Okay, see? What time is that? Is that 11? No, it's not 11. 23 would be 11. Okay. Gosh, it's so hard.
Starting point is 00:18:39 And my dumb brother, he like everything in his car, his house, clocks, everything's military time. You're such an idiot. That's awesome, Kevin. Congratulations, man. Thank you. That's super cool. We just did nine weeks this week. Nine weeks?
Starting point is 00:18:55 Wow, you're still on the weeks. That's crazy. Mm-hmm. If you say two months and one week, that's too many words. Yes, it is. Minus two. Because I'm not that guy
Starting point is 00:19:05 is going to do the weeks in the months the whole time, but mostly it's like word efficiency. Yeah. So, yeah, we're at nine weeks now with the movie. Do you feel like time is flying? I feel like it is a snap of a fingers and gone. but there's an element of it that feels like every freaking day is 27 hours long.
Starting point is 00:19:21 Yeah. It's just exhausting. And not like exhausting, lifting heavy things, just constant attention. Like my brain's fried a lot because I used to get off work and take a minute, eat, maybe do some other work or if I was like super fried, 30 minutes, play a little PlayStation, get my mind right before I start back again or go work out. Now it's like as soon as I get off work, I might get to do nothing except go to baby. if Caitlin's not feeling well.
Starting point is 00:19:46 And then it's his baby until bedtime. And the days are 100 years long, it feels like. Man, my son graduated kindergarten yesterday. And they had balloons that said class of 2038. Crazy. And I was like, oh my gosh. I'm going to be so old when this dude graduates high school. That's what I feel like about picturing my daughter getting older is that I'm going to be 100.
Starting point is 00:20:12 Yeah. Yeah. I'm like, they're going to have to put us in wall. walkers, dude, to go to this graduation. Pride Months, Toronto. Pride is an opportunity for you to create your own space, to celebrate your existence. IHeart Radio is proud to be an official sponsor of Pride Toronto Festival, and we won't stop. Celebrate Pride.

Pride is so great because it gives a whole bunch of people this visibility that they've never had before. We have a ton to celebrate Toronto. Happy Pride. I heart radio. In the moment, it felt like it was going on forever. I didn't think I was going to live. I was terrified.
Starting point is 00:21:02 There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. That was your first murder case? Yes, sir. Fair to say this was the biggest case of your career? Yes, sir. Rape a murder for a child.
Starting point is 00:21:19 She's as bad as it gets. I would think so. evil wake up i'm the woman saw the murder take place by crevette and de pippo anthony de pippo showed no signs of remorse appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum i said i'm not guilty i'll take it to the grief listen to the devil's quarry on the i heart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts and to hear the devil's quarry ad free with exclusive content subscribe to lava for good plus on apple Podcasts.
Starting point is 00:22:04 Hey, I'm Hoda Kotby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby. Together, we're going to have meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people, like when actress Olivia Munn shared how she overcame fierce health challenges. I've gone through breast cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer, and that was more difficult. There's a lot of people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or
Starting point is 00:22:33 wherever you get your podcasts. I love the sounds, the buzzing from the stadium, the chanting from the fans, the announcers calling the place soccer, football at home. Why do I watch the World Cup? That's like asking me, why do I breed? I inherited that fandom from my mom. I like watching it with my dad. It's a connecting force. From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernanda Chavari, and this is American Football. show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots.
Starting point is 00:23:10 We go beyond the game to the people and the stories that make it great. A soccer game is a festival. It's not just a game. It's your culture. I took an elbow to my head, which cracked my skull. It is an American game. The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though. Are they the only ones that don't like that? Nobody likes that.
Starting point is 00:23:30 As we get ready for the Men's World Cup this summer, listen to American Football as part of the... the My Coutura Podcast Network, available on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right, let's welcome in Law Murray, NBA writer for the Athletic, based in LA, one of the go-to reporters when it comes to the Clippers
Starting point is 00:23:53 and really anything NBA-related. Been covering the NBA for years, join The Athletic in 2021, and go check out his writing. It's fantastic, especially now when it's all NBA. Go to Theathletic.com. Law, appreciate you coming in. I do want to go first to LeBron.
Starting point is 00:24:08 Is he a Laker next year? playing the NBA at all next year. And good morning to you guys. I really think LeBron's going to be in the NBA. Whether it's with the Lakers, that's what I'm most interested in. I think both sides would be interested
Starting point is 00:24:24 in certain conditions. I think that's what the posturing is here. I think the Lakers don't want to pay LeBron like a max player at the age that he's at, the phase of his career that he's at, given the shortcomings that they have.
Starting point is 00:24:39 you have to keep in mind, like, since the bubble, they've only advanced in the playoffs twice in the last six post seasons, and they, and both of those post seasons ended in sweeps in the conference finals in 2023 and just now in the conference semifinals in 2026. So that's what the Lakers perspective is. And for LeBron, he's still that dude. I mean, he might not be an MVP candidate. He might not be Luca, but that dude. just deferred to Austin Reeves, you know what I'm saying? Like he's, he's a player who is still one of the better players in the NBA, certainly an all-star caliber talent. And he could be that to a number of teams in the NBA. I would dare say all, but, you know, we can be reasonable. So he's not going to
Starting point is 00:25:29 consider every NBA team, man, he shouldn't. So I think that's, that's a tricky part there. I think both sides in some aspects could use each other and maybe even need each other, but the Lakers aren't trying to pay the most for Bronn, and Brown's not trying to play for the minimum. It seems to me that from very far out that LeBron has a decision to make, does he want to try to win another championship or does he want to make a lot of money because both kind of can't happen because if he gets a max deal somewhere, he's going to be taking the lion's share of money, maybe him and one other guy. and that's probably not conducive to having a team that's going to win a championship
Starting point is 00:26:08 because he's not going to be the number one guy, possibly number two guy. So would you say that that assessment is accurate, that he has to decide between money and maybe having a shot to win another one? I think there's a happy medium. I mean, he's going to get paid. And where the floor is for LeBron, I think, is the question. Again, you know, talking about a dude just saying, I'll take the minimum to play.
Starting point is 00:26:31 You know, he's, LeBron's never taken a pay cut, not to my recollection. And maybe that's the consideration. It's like how much, if you look at Tom Brady, and I know LeBron admires Tom Brady, and especially what Tom Brady was able to do, not just in his 40s, but in his post-New England Patriots career.
Starting point is 00:26:52 But playing quarterback in the NFL, it's like, yeah, I'm going to make this up by just having the talent to play with. and obviously being Tom Brady, there are options that you have. Does LeBron have that approach? And that is an adjustment. That's something that you have to kind of really wrap your mind around. It's like, what are you playing for? How much are you playing for?
Starting point is 00:27:16 What's going to be satisfying to you to where you can be happy enough to focus on trying to win that championship? Like, LeBron not going to the Sacramento Kings. Like, that's what I meant earlier when I was like, look, Every team could use him in some aspect, but it's not like, we can cut like 40% in the NBA out of that conversation. And so that's, I think that's the biggest thing for LeBron is adjusting to what the adjustment is. It seemed to me like over the last couple years of the Lakers, they didn't have a big man. Like DeAndre Aiden, he ain't it. We were able to see that.
Starting point is 00:27:53 And so LeBron had to carry him through the first series, obviously. And the thunder, they just suffocate you. no one really expected the Lakers to win the series. And it's a 41-year-old dude still out there playing like real basketball. Like you said, LeBron may not be a top five guy, but he's a top 25 guys still at age 41. But for the Lakers to get a big guy, they need money. And they don't have money because they got three dudes now sucking up all the payroll, which are Luca, Austin Reeves, and LeBron.
Starting point is 00:28:20 So something's got a budge, right? Right. It's not just that it's three dudes either. It's those three dudes. Like, you saw what the Oklahoma City Thunder did anytime Austin Reeves was in coverage. Like, it was fade on site. So you think that's going to be better with Luca Dunchits? Like, you have, the Lakers are setting themselves up to have their two most prominent shot creators be players that they need to protect in one way or the other.
Starting point is 00:28:55 The reason the Lakers, and people are going to talk about, DeAndre Aiton and the centers. And I mean, look, DeAndre Aiton probably should opt out and see what options he has out there. You know, he's probably better than an $8 million player. But I don't think you'd find a lot of teams willing to trust him on a multi-year contract that pays him, say, 30 million, right? Like, if you really look at it, Aiton's not a bad run protector. He's not a special one. But if he's there, he's okay.
Starting point is 00:29:25 Jackson Hayes was decent in a backup role. When the Lakers had issues offensively, it was because one of those dudes is away from the basket and your low man is someone like Austin Reeves or Luca Donchich. Like, you're going to make a lot of layups if that's your last line of defense in a help or rotation situation. And so that's the question. It's like, yeah, LeBron can't make a lot given the pay bump that Austin Reeves is about to. get because you have to fill out your roster because you need depth and it's not just a defense. The Lakers were probably a worse offense than they should have been given to some other parts because of a depth issue. There's a lack of skill when one of LeBron or Luca or Austin were out
Starting point is 00:30:16 and guess what? There were a lot of games where at least one of those dudes weren't available. That's why it took until March for those dudes to click. And that's why it took LeBron's sacrificing and saying, Austin, you do your thing as the second guy, and I'll fall back for it to actually, you know, marinate. There's a lot to be considered, and LeBron's contract is the big swing factor. If LeBron doesn't stay with the Lakers, I don't know, to me, Cleveland, Golden State, like, where do you think LeBron would end up or want to play? I don't know if he'd want to play, to be honest with you. I got, like, I'm just being real, like, I feel like a lot of people. people are just talking for LeBron and I'm part of that now, you know?
Starting point is 00:30:59 Like, I know that going to Cleveland for him would serve a whole lot more people that aren't named LeBron James. And I think you got to really look at that. It's like, I think everyone looks at LeBron and looks at the stories that they want to tell. And, you know, they did the same thing with JJ Reddick. It's like, JJ Reddick got mad, Steve Kerr, Pet Riley, comps, you know, which has said more about the people wanting to write those stories than it did about JJ Reddick, you know, and I thought and still think JJ Redick did really well as head coach this year.
Starting point is 00:31:36 He was better even if the results were pretty similar to the year before. And I think JJ would tell you that as well. So, like, I don't want to see LeBron James play for the Golden State Warriors. I'll tell you that right now. I don't know if LeBron wants that. Like, people want that because people want to cover the Golden State Warriors. Warriors, a team that if you really zoom out, aren't good enough to be given this level of coverage and haven't been for years. So, like, I think it's between the Lakers and the Cavs, to be
Starting point is 00:32:08 honest with you, and the Cleans Cavaliers thing, it's like, it'll be easy. But LeBron would have to get there mentally and emotionally to do it. Whereas with the Lakers, you don't have to make those same adjustments. It's just a matter of how much do you want to sacrifice to play with these dudes again. And you know what? The chemistry wasn't that bad. It's just going to be a business thing. Will they handle the business in a way that doesn't cause LeBron James to be like,
Starting point is 00:32:34 okay, I got to not play for these dudes next year? How pumped up were the clips that got that five pick? They were very excited. I mean, very excited. And they anticipated the chance of excitement. That's what you do when you make a trade of the magnitude that they made in February. It's like, look, there's a slightly less than 50-50 chance that that's going to come up roses for them.
Starting point is 00:32:59 I was sitting there and I'll tell you, I emotionally was not invested in the lottery like that, right? You know, and I say emotionally because naturally I've covered the team for a long time. I think a lot of fans think that if you cover a team, it's because you wore Darius Miles Jersey or something like that. And anyone who knows me knows that's not the case. I think people just be projecting. But I've been around those dudes. I've got relationships with that organization, with the players, with the coaches. I have written critically about them, and they've let me know in certain terms how they felt
Starting point is 00:33:35 about what I got to say. Sometimes it's agreement. Sometimes they need to get over themselves. It is what it is. Like, I don't take it personal. But to see that envelope with the clippers on it, it put a reaction to me that I've never had before because I've, you know, I'm from Philly. I moved to LA in 2010 when Alfred Gaminu was their top 10 pick over Paul George, you know,
Starting point is 00:34:00 and like they've not had a top five pick since Blake Griffin in 2009. Like the Clippers say what you want about their shortcomings and their lack of postseason success. They have a winning record 15 years in a row. They have emptied out their asset chest to get a team that only advanced to the conference finals once. And that was with Kauai Leonard recovering from a ACL 10. that the team didn't want to tell us about when it happened. So this is a huge moment for them. It's a big swing point.
Starting point is 00:34:29 And they are excited. But that also means they have a lot of work to do because if they didn't get that pick, then it would have been like, you know, business as usual. You know, we picking in the first round because the Oklahoma City Thunder have their lottery pick. But now it's like you can be excited, but you got to nail this pick. Or you got to nail the decision that comes with this pick. And looking at some of these dudes, it's a lot. that they're going to have to pick between you as far as frozen tons.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Yeah, probably the best freshman class in college basketball that I've ever seen in my life, at least based on all the criteria they use to rank these guys, right? And they've tiered them out the top four. But even that second tier of like five through nine, they would have been top three picks the last three years in the draft. So I feel like you're five, six, seven, eight, like you still have a hard decision to make because those are actually really good franchise type ballplayers. Well, they're really good players, but I see floor.
Starting point is 00:35:25 Like, I see skinny dudes. I see dudes with a lack of explosion. I see dudes with short arms, bad defense, all kinds of things that you need to, even the better prospects. And there are guys that I like and there are traits that I like. But then you got to look at your own team. Like, your two best players, one is 34 years old under league investigations. and has a not great track record of durability and availability,
Starting point is 00:35:56 you know, one of the best in the league, but still, that's what we're looking at. How do you support that player? He's not the biggest player in Kauai Leonard, for those who thought I could possibly talk to anybody else. And then there's Darius Garland, a guy you traded for. And the biggest thing with Darius besides the durability availability issues, which I'd tell you, if Darius Garland was more durable, if you didn't have as many concerns there,
Starting point is 00:36:22 he probably still be in Cleveland, right? A lot of the dudes that you could say make up the bulk of the depth in this draft are smaller guards. Like, who do you draft that fits in a short term knowing that the draft is a long-term endeavor? That is the biggest question facing the Clippers. Like, there are guys in this draft
Starting point is 00:36:47 that can make a real difference down the line, what does that mean for the guys that you have today on your roster? How do you feel about Wembe where he is on schedule ahead of it? I would say a little bit ahead of it. Yeah, I mean, Wemby hasn't even gotten the rookie scale extension yet. That's coming, you know, after the season. Like, this is his first playoff run, and it's not a playoff run where they don't have expectations in their I mean, these dudes could win a championship. They played like that all regular season.
Starting point is 00:37:24 They beat the best teams regularly all regular season. And your only question was just a matter of the quote, quote, experience. And I love this series with the Minnesota Timberwolves because Minnesota Timberwolves have made a living the last two years of beating teams that people didn't trust them to beat, both because of the makeup of their current team, as well as the way we talk about the Timberwolves. The Timberwolves are obviously a team that win 13 years when a playoff run.
Starting point is 00:37:53 They squandered most of Kevin Garnett's career. These aren't those Simberwolves. Like the Timberwolves are going to, they know who they are at this time of the year. And I'm so sad for the Simmelts because obviously physically they're not the best version of themselves. But you know what? A lot of teams are dealing with that. And the Timberwolves, I remember them being down 3-2 in the conference semifinals and beating the defending champs.
Starting point is 00:38:17 That was just two years ago. That's going to be the test. Can Victor Wenbanyama and the San Antonio Spurs close out a team that is not dead until they're dead? But I was talking about this recently. I do not want to get used to taking Victor Wenbenyama for granted. Like we're seeing things that you have to really do some yoga bickram stretching to compare him to contemporary. compare him to dudes from previous generations playing a game that ain't being played today. So, yeah, I would say he's ahead, even with everything that has come with the expectations
Starting point is 00:39:02 regarding Victor Wimbenyama and the takeover that we all expected when he was drafted. What do you think the skill set is he can improve on in the off season as he goes from this season to next? That's the thing I'm most excited about, because as great as he has, is now being an MVP finalist, there are things that you know he can be better at. Like, he's a good shooter. I wouldn't consider him a great shooter, right? Like, this is a dude who, I mean, the terminals are in this series still because Victor missed all eight three-pointers that he took, which is two problems.
Starting point is 00:39:38 That's a shot selection thing. Like, I'm gracious that a guy with that level of not just size, but the skill to put the ball on the floor and get to his spots would choose to have half of his shot attempts come 23 feet from the basket so you know victor is going to get better with that part of it that's two things just as shooting skill as well as the shot selection the ability to put the level of pressure offensively on a defense and i think he can still be a better playmaker I think he's, the turnovers went down significantly, and the big part of that is the ball is in the hands of so many of those guards,
Starting point is 00:40:24 you know, and they all do different things. I was not seeing how those guards were all going to find their role and all play well, but between the Aaron Fox, who you notice how he closes really well, and Dylan Harper, he comes in and he gives them that different dynamic off the bench and Stefan Castle, he actually has been the guy to soak up more the ball handling and that has Fox taken the real backseat, Wendy, again, he doesn't have the ball in his hands as much,
Starting point is 00:40:57 but I still think Wendy can still be a better playmaker, better decision maker. I mean, a lot of it is just what it comes down to how he is using, and what he gets out of himself offensively. Like, this is a guy who could average 30. This is a guy who could average more assist. This is a guy who could be even cleaner with his shots. And he's got his whole career to do all that.
Starting point is 00:41:23 Law, I really appreciate the time and the insight. And you guys, not only can you read him on The Athletic, we can follow him at Law Murray, the NU. But appreciate it. Starting point is 00:42:24 They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. That was your first murder case? Yes, sir. Fear to say this was the biggest case of your career? Yes, sir. Rape a murder for a child. Just as bad as it gets.
Starting point is 00:42:38 I would think so. Evil, wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder take place by Crevent and DePippo. Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse, appearing unfazed after being sent. to the maximum. I said, I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grief.

Starting point is 00:43:22 Hey, I'm Hoda Kotby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby. Together, we're going to have meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people, Like when actress Olivia Munn shared how she overcame fierce health challenges. I've gone through breast cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer. And that was more difficult.
Starting point is 00:43:41 There's a lot of people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I love the sounds. The buzzing from the stadium, the chanting from the fans, the announcers calling the place, soccer, football, at home. Why do I watch the World Cup? That's like asking me, why do I breed?
Starting point is 00:44:10 I inherited that fandom from my mom. It's a connecting force. From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernanda Chavari, and this is American Football, a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots. We go beyond the game to the people and the stories that make it great. A soccer game is a festival. It's not just a game. It's your culture. I took an elbow to my head, which cracked my skull.
Starting point is 00:44:40 It is an American game. The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though. Are they the only ones that don't like that? Nobody likes that. As we get ready for the Men's World Cup this summer, listen to American Football as part of the My Culture Podcast Network, available on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So the NFL has put out all the international games for next year.
Starting point is 00:45:08 Which one would you like to go to most? You know my answer. Yeah, but it's not really about the team. It's like the city. Oh, yeah. Don't do Cowboys. You can't do Cowboys. That's your favorite team.
Starting point is 00:45:18 Because we could say Cowboys in McAllen, Texas, and you'd pick that one. Dude, that would be a dream game. Where would they do that, though? The high school stadium. Macallan High School Stadium. It seats 200 people. That'd be pretty cool, though. It's like the Savannah bananas.
Starting point is 00:45:32 as they were going around playing pop-up games. They got in a bus and they drove around. They were going to play this high school stadium. Everybody meet us there. That's cool. What if the Cowboys did that? That'd be amazing.
Starting point is 00:45:42 That would be great. My whole family, aunts, uncles, cousins, they would love it. Yeah, you wouldn't get in though. What do you mean? Not all those people. It's hard to get in. It's 200 people.
Starting point is 00:45:50 I'm not worried about them. I'm worried about me. Oh. And we got connections. Here we go. Week 1. 49ers at Rams in Melbourne, Australia.
Starting point is 00:45:59 One out of 10, how much would like to go? One. Wow. Australia is awesome. Yeah, I know, but it's a long flight.
Starting point is 00:46:07 That's a commitment. A lot of these are going to be pretty long. I'm going to go, okay, I'll factor that in six out of ten on the Melbourne, but that's also going to be a good game. Did you go to Melbourne? No.
Starting point is 00:46:19 You went to Sydney. Yep. Okay. I think the game, though, is good. Because some of these games, if it's like Jacksonville versus the Jacksonville B team,
Starting point is 00:46:29 right, right, right. That's usually what happens sometimes. With the Browns. Kevin, what about that game? Yeah, that's like an eight for me. I really want to go to Australia. I've never been. So that on top of the good game, I'm in.
Starting point is 00:46:40 Eddie is going to recuse himself from this one. The Ravens versus the Cowboys in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. That'd be amazing. Rio de Janeiro Brazil. Kevin? Yeah, man, that's a nine or a ten for me. Just go ten, dude. It's a five for me.
Starting point is 00:46:57 Why? Ooh. You scared of Rio? No. South America, not my thing. Dude, it's beautiful over there, though. You have beaches, jungles, all of it. I've been.
Starting point is 00:47:11 You've been to Brazil? No, but I've been to South America. You've never even been, and you're trying to tell me what South America's like. But there's no way, there's no way. I have been. I know, but there's no way all of South America looks the same. But everything you just said was in Costa Rica as well, but like I've literally been.
Starting point is 00:47:25 Yeah, I've never been. Yeah. Not even close. McAllen's closest probably. Now you went to Mexico. Yeah, but that'd be close to Central America. America. Indianapolis Colts and Washington commanders in London.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Two? London's cool, but that's not the game I want to go see in London. Nah. Don't like those teams. And then London really, like, my wife's English, I guess, but like... You'd like London, though. Is it cool? Yeah, London's awesome.
Starting point is 00:47:56 Really? Food's fair. It's always rainy, but everything's so old, and it's really cool. all the famous stuff you've ever seen through pictures, you see them all there just walking around London. That's pretty cool. Kevin, you've been to London. Yeah, I've been a couple times. I'm not a big fan of London.
Starting point is 00:48:11 Probably because you've been a couple times. I bet the first time you went, you were like, this is crazy, they're fishing chips. Yeah, that is true. Yeah, I think Big Ben and all that is really cool to see, but it almost seems like a, like a L.A. Europe or something. It's a lot of money there, a lot of rich people there. Massive city. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:30 I feel like I would, expect everything to be old, but I know that it's modernized. You know, like parts, but do you walk in a building from 1,200? Right, but isn't it next to a skyscraper that was built last year? No, not really. Oh. It's like different parts. Oh, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:48:46 I can understand if you go to London three times, like, I'm over it because it's a massive city. To me, the first time I went was super cool because it's just stuff I'd seen on television. Is that where like the Mona Lisa is and everything? No. The Mona Lisa is in Paris. Okay. What's cool in London other than the big clock?
Starting point is 00:49:01 Big Ben. and the old buildings. It's cool. The freaking king and queen. Buckingham Palace. That's crazy to watch the guards stand there. I bet that's cool. That Ferris wheel that goes around.
Starting point is 00:49:13 Seen it? Yeah, pretty cool. Big eye. Is that what it's called? I think the big eye is what it's called. Yep. Next up, Philadelphia Eagles versus Jacksonville Jaguars in London. Same.
Starting point is 00:49:28 I'd rather go watch the Colts and Commanders than that game. The next up Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars in London Dude the Jaguars is just going to stay in London They live over there dude Man That game sucks too Getting worse
Starting point is 00:49:42 The Steelers and Saints in Paris That sounds cool That sounds cool I'll give that a six Saints kind of blow Steelers mid-blow Paris Maybe my second favorite city I've ever been to
Starting point is 00:49:55 Out of America I've heard you say that So I feel like I really need to see Paris Kevin Yeah, it's up there. The only reason it's not higher than the Brazil one is because I've been to Paris, but to your point, I love Paris.
Starting point is 00:50:08 Paris is awesome. Cincinnati versus Atlanta and Madrid. Yes, 10. Give me a 10. That's my homeland. Garcia's, dude. We all came from Spain. And you like the game? Nah, I don't care about the game, but I just want to go to Spain. I'll go...
Starting point is 00:50:26 I've never been. I go seven. Kevin? Yeah, six and a half. You've been to Madrid? Yeah, just for a quick weekend. What's that like, Kevin? From Barcelona.
Starting point is 00:50:38 A bunch of me's running around? Actually, no, Spain, it's not Mexico, but it is Spain. But Barcelona is better because you're on the beach. Like Madrid is cool, but it's not the beach, you know? Madrid's like Barcelona. It's capital, right? Yeah. How's the food over there?
Starting point is 00:50:56 Is it like good food? Oh, yeah. Yeah, it's really good. But it does, it's the, uh, the, uh, The tapas everywhere you go. You know, you get the paella and the tapas everywhere. So it's not like a big burrito or something like that. It's more just finger food.
Starting point is 00:51:09 Did you know what tapas were? That's the individual, right? Small plates. Yeah, you get like individual like taco. No, small plates. What do you mean? Like appetizers. Oh, like appetizers.
Starting point is 00:51:18 Oh, like appetites. Yeah. Yeah. So it's not one. Tomas. Yeah. But what do he expect? Like burritos?
Starting point is 00:51:22 I didn't think that was Spanish. No, he said like you and you want burritos. So he's like, hey, dude, it's not burritos. I know that, dude. It's Spain. It's not Mexico. The Patriots, Week 10, the Patriots versus the Detroit Lions in Munich, Germany. That'd be cool.
Starting point is 00:51:38 I mean, I think that'd be cool. I think Germany, you've been to Germany? Yeah, best hot dog ever had. That's right. Brief. No, we stayed the night in Germany on edge. France, Germany, across the border stayed there. So I felt very French German, but then we stopped in Munich.
Starting point is 00:51:52 I think I'd like to spend more time in Germany. So, yeah, that's cool, two, seven. And the game sounds pretty good. Yeah, the game also would matter to the Patriots and Lions. Kevin? Yeah, that's a good one. I've actually been to that stadium too. I watched a soccer game there.
Starting point is 00:52:07 Iron Munich game. It was awesome. This guy is so cultured. He lived over there. He like went to school there or something. What I'm saying? But how do you like go to school and where did you go to school, Kevin? Barcelona.
Starting point is 00:52:19 Oh, in Spain. Just for three months. And I've been to Europe like a couple times other than that. But you can bounce around over there. No problem. It's like going state to state there. You don't realize that. Even smaller than that.
Starting point is 00:52:29 So close. Yeah, trained everywhere. You wake up, you're in another country. It's awesome. It'd be like in the northeast, if you're in New York, you want to go to Connecticut. It's similar-ish to that. Pennsylvania, right there. Unless you're in Ireland, and you can't get anywhere because I made that mistake. That's an island.
Starting point is 00:52:43 That's an island. You got to go on an airplane. Got it. Vikings and 49ers in Mexico City. Ooh. Zero. Zero? That's a good game, though. Zero. Dude, Mexico City
Starting point is 00:52:57 is crazy. I'm telling you. to a Cowboys game there. Cowboys versus the Raiders in Mexico City. Estadio Estecca, I think is the name of the stadium. Ricky Martin sang the national anthem. Dude, it was crazy. And then I remember, I told you this story, but I remember they were throwing like, I don't know, something happened, like a bad call or something on the field. And they started throwing water bottles, like down, you know, people on the top throwing them on the field. And whoever I was with, he's from Mexico. friend of the family, he's like,
Starting point is 00:53:29 get down, cover yourself. I'm like, why? It's just water. Like, it's not water. It was pee. They would pee in bottles and then chunk it. So different world, man. All right, pick one of all those. Hopefully you guys remembered, which one would you go to? I'm going to Spain.
Starting point is 00:53:47 I forget the game. I think it's Atlanta and Cincinnati. Cincinnati. That's maybe the closest one to us. Spain? Yeah, it's right there. Kevin, you? Yeah, I hate to say this, but I got to go Ravens Cowboys in Brazil.
Starting point is 00:54:04 Let's go. Great area. Never been, so that'd be awesome. And it's not during Rio, but, like, I'm sure they party hard down there. I'm going to go. You're like, I'll watch them all from TV. Yeah. If I'm factoring in my wife going, we'd go to Paris because that's a close one.
Starting point is 00:54:28 And you love it already. It's great. But I think I'd probably go. because of the game and if it was just me by myself, to the Patriots and Lions in Munich, Germany. Nice. Yeah. And I'd put so many weaners in my mouth.
Starting point is 00:54:42 Get that hot dog. Yeah. It'd be non-stop wiener. We need it. Like, you know what I really like out of all those trips is to see the jersey situation. Like,
Starting point is 00:54:50 I have a theory that they're giving away those jerseys at the door. All the different teams. Because every time they show the crowd, they're wearing every single jersey and they look like they're just kind of like, like they got free tickets to the show. my theory is
Starting point is 00:55:04 there are a bunch of NFL fans over there for a lot of different teams but their team's not coming and they still want to go to the game so they just wear the jersey of the team they have. Yeah, that would be the normal. That would be my theory.
Starting point is 00:55:16 I feel like there's some of the door like, oh, never watch football here. Here's this is Cincinnati Bengals. Outside. Yeah, they wear it. If somebody with a clipboard, we got 17 Cincinnati jerseys out there. All right, open the Jaguar box up.
Starting point is 00:55:29 What team do you think has the worst jersey helmet, like the ugly. I was thinking about this yesterday. And I think a little bit of it too is like, if you meet somebody in life and you don't like them, their name is kind of spoiled
Starting point is 00:55:45 on the list of good names because you associate that name with that person. So let's say I love the name Benji. And I was like, man, Benji, it's a great name, but there's this dude named Benji that beat me up all the time. So now I kind of hate the name Benji because that dude was a douchebag.
Starting point is 00:55:58 Yeah. I kind of feel like I'm letting that seep in to what I think is the ugliest jersey logo because if they lose a lot I think that affects it. So, because my number one was the Cardinals and I love Red, but I think the Cardinals have the worst logo
Starting point is 00:56:14 full jersey situation. Just the birdhead? The Cardinals, the Browns. That's what I was going to pick the Browns because it's just an orange helmet and then their jersey is brown. I do like the simplicity of it. It's like there's nothing to it.
Starting point is 00:56:30 They might have a band on their arm. That's orange, maybe. I do like that little elf they have in the field. Elf? Yeah, 50 yard line. They put the elf out there for a while. I don't think I've ever seen that. The Browns have an elf?
Starting point is 00:56:43 Look it up. The fans voted on it, I think. Brownie the elf. Really? And he sits on the field? Yeah, and I think it's old. Mike, would you give us the story of Brownie the elf? dating back to 1946.
Starting point is 00:56:54 I can't say that word. Mischievious folklore characters inspired. Timmy and is generic thing. Yeah. That's a creepy little. little guy back from the 40s. Huh. And they put it last year and I think they removed it after a while. But I like that
Starting point is 00:57:08 although it's not on the helmet. I at least like the Browns because they're not trying and the logo didn't end up bad because they were trying too hard. Where I feel like the Jacksonville Jaguars, that one kind of sucks. That's ugly. Yeah. I don't like Jacksonville their colors. When they win though, it's cooler.
Starting point is 00:57:23 You don't like that teal color? Nah, I like the color. I kind of like that. I'm going Cardinals Jaguars. I don't like to Seahawks either. Oh, Seahawks is so cool. I think they're lame. That logo's lame. And I'm, the new jerseys are awesome. Like, well, the, the latest. I need to see them. They got the little checkered, almost like, um, urodescent. It's like dark, dark, dark, I don't know, is it dark blue or dark green? Also, I might just hate the colors, too. I think they're so cool. But I'm going, these are the bad ones to me. The Cardinals, the Browns, Jacksonville, and the Seahawks. Three of those four have been pretty much perennial losers so that could affect it.
Starting point is 00:57:58 Also, I just don't like green. Like if I were a big, high-rated five-star basketball player, I'm not going to play for a green school. I don't care. I don't care if Michigan State's like, we got you. Come on. More NIL money. I'm not going to a green school.
Starting point is 00:58:14 That's funny. I think green can affect it. Ugliest ones, Eddie. I think the Eagles are ugly. Okay, you hate the Eagles, though. That's just a Cowboys rival. Just disgusting is what it is. I hate green.
Starting point is 00:58:25 I don't hate the Eagles. You don't? No. It's just a generic green with a dumb feather on their helmet. Like just a wing. You hate Philadelphia. You hate the Eagles. And that's okay.
Starting point is 00:58:36 There are no rules. But that's, that's seeping in. Uh-huh. Okay. Okay. Just nothing there. Uh,
Starting point is 00:58:43 the saints. I don't think, I don't think they've ever changed their logo or change their helmet or change their uniform. It's just kind of like, they feel so old. I'm mid on the saints. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:55 Anything else? And then probably The Texans There's nothing there for me with the Texans Dark blue Is that what they are? Yeah dark blue with like a cow on their head The dark color color color mess me up a little bit
Starting point is 00:59:10 Just being colorblind Yeah, I like the Texans But maybe I don't know what color they really are Ooh you know what the Titans Oh yeah Titans terrible They're so bad Their new helmets look pretty good Yeah good point Kevin
Starting point is 00:59:20 This year they've shifted They're much cooler I need to sit on it though We haven't seen it enough Kevin who's your ugly list Yeah, what pops in my head Probably the Panthers Yeah, that's a tough one
Starting point is 00:59:31 Ooh, I like that one That's a tough one I feel like it could be a lot cooler But it's just so boring to me And they've lost a lot Yeah, that has to do with it And then another one I know it's a classic But man, the Steelers has always
Starting point is 00:59:42 Just been so boring to me You know what's cool about the Steelers though Is you know what that logo is With a little colored stars I don't know That's the steel logo Like if you get a bottle of a spray can like a spray paint.
Starting point is 00:59:56 Yeah. And the can has made of steel. Their little logo is on that bottle. I didn't know that. Yeah. How fun is that fact? Check it out. It's pretty cool.
Starting point is 01:00:05 I'm having fun right now. What a fact that is. And then when I was a kid too, I thought that the Steelers meant like robbers. So I was like, ooh, I don't like these guys. That would have been cooler. Yes.
Starting point is 01:00:15 Like just to us. To them, that's the coolest because of the Steel City. But to us, we don't live there. So we don't have a relationship with steel. So we're like, ah, it's a factory.
Starting point is 01:00:25 but stealers they steal things the looters the bandits right right can help me have anybody else yeah one more we're going green here and it's not because i hate them but their new uniforms of the jets they're awful oh i like the jets i don't i don't really like the green you don't like that dark green their helmet looks like a lollipop i don't but i don't hate it as much as like that jaguar green the teal or is that so that's not green no it's like a blue green or the seahawks green is that green is that green Yeah, a different shade of, no, that's blueish. That's more blue than green. So mine's a struggle.
Starting point is 01:01:01 Colorblind, man. Mike, who's the worst logo to you? Commanders. Yes. Do you like the new ones though with a W? No, it's just a W. It's boring. Oh, I like it.
Starting point is 01:01:09 And the maroon is just a gross color. I like that. The yellow doesn't look good at all. I don't like yellow mixed in so I can do without that. But it's like when the Chiefs do heavy yellow, I don't like that. I like the Chiefs with white and red. Yeah. I'm just a big red guy.
Starting point is 01:01:22 You can see that red, perfect, right? The red, that red's awesome. What do you guys think about the packers? Is that too blue to you? No, I like it. It's a little green and yellow both, which is a bit contrary to everything I just said. But they've won enough to make it cool.
Starting point is 01:01:38 I like that it's been really old. Yeah. Like there's something to that. It's been consistent since the beginning of the NFL. And it's just a letter. Just an old G. Like I feel like that cardinal on that helmet, that's a lame cardinal.
Starting point is 01:01:53 Like have it killing somebody. We're ripping a heart out of something. It's just a pretty little cardinal. It's just, yeah, I just like, and then also I start to think back, maybe because I hate St. Louis Cardinals because I'm a cup fan. Maybe that affects it,
Starting point is 01:02:05 and I don't realize it. So, yeah. So what are your favorites? Do you like the Rams? No, the Bengals, by far, the coolest helmets in the NFL. The Bengals have the, but I also grew up loving the Bengals
Starting point is 01:02:17 because Boomer Asison was a left-handed quarterback, and I played it as a left-handed quarterback, like early football, and I was like, that's my guy. But I think the, Bengals have the coolest helmets. Do you feel that way? Yes.
Starting point is 01:02:27 The white tiger helmets are even good. Even cooler. Yeah. So I'm going to go Bengals. You? Rams. I love the ram horn. If you can just picture that being their horn, it's just awesome.
Starting point is 01:02:40 Yeah. I love that. Med to me, but I get it. Kevin? Yeah. I'm trying to think. I mean, probably the Eagles, honestly. Sorry, Eddie, but I like that eagle on them.
Starting point is 01:02:51 You like that wing? I think it's sweet. Generic wing. I kind of like the eagle. What are you all talking about? Mike Niners, I love that color scheme. That's cool. Golden Red.
Starting point is 01:02:59 Good one. Color scheme's good. Because it's real. Logo's kind of lame. Yeah, the logo's lame, but the colors look good. Yeah, but yeah, it's a good color scheme. You know what I think the Raiders could really redo their logo to something cool. Because it's a great mascot.
Starting point is 01:03:14 But like, that's a looter. The Raiders are a looter bandit. There you go. Oh, my God. Look at this. Do something cool with it. Okay. Your pride is like love.

In the moment, it felt like it was going to be. on forever. I didn't think I was going to live. I was terrified. There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black. It scared the hell out of me.
Starting point is 01:04:17 That was your first murder case? Yes, sir. Fear to say this was the biggest case of your career? Yes, sir. Rape a murder for a young, 12-year-old child. Just as bad as it gets. I would think so. People wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder take place by crevette and de pit bull. DiPippo showed no signs of remorse, appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum. I said, I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grief. Starting point is 01:05:40 I love the sounds, the buzzing from the stadium, the chance, hunting from the fans, the announcers calling the place soccer, football, it's home. We go beyond the game. to the people and the stories that make it great.
Starting point is 01:06:19 A soccer game is a festival. It's not just a game. It's your culture. I took an elbow to my head, which cracked my skull. It is an American game. The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though. Are they the only ones that don't like that? Nobody likes that.
Starting point is 01:06:35 As we get ready for the Men's World Cup this summer, listen to American Football as part of the My Coutura podcast network, available on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you. you get your podcasts. Starting point is 01:07:15 Oh, Scotty. Okay. Well, Scottie. A possible congratulations. He's playing really well. That would be awesome. And I'd like to congratulate me on, hmm, being rich? Yeah, but that's, I mean, that's, that's like, congratulating somebody for breathing.
Starting point is 01:07:32 It's just every day that it's been a thing for a while. Congrats, you ever have a lot of money. Thank you. I wonder if there's anything new, though. Making it two months in one week? Huh? Yeah, that's not, that's a congratulations. How's the softball team going?
Starting point is 01:07:47 They played a day in the first round, first game of regionals. Okay. I don't know if I have it. Congratulations today. I saw baseball was playing. Are they good? We've really struggled. Arkansas baseball is starting to get a little warmer, almost hot.
Starting point is 01:08:00 Possibly we can host a regional, but we're going to be by Kentucky. And I don't talk about baseball a lot because softball and baseball are so similar. I don't want to get them confused. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I do watch. I have to kind of pick. What about your Cubs? Congrats to your Cubs.
Starting point is 01:08:13 They're playing well. Hey, man. They're playing great. I can't wait to tell you guys the story about me running into the players and me being like, Oh, yes. I haven't forgot that. I just can't yet. Yeah, you don't want to give something away.
Starting point is 01:08:24 I can't. If I reveal that, it reveals other parts of the story, and I owe it to these people to not say, like, where they were. So I got to let it. Got it. You know what? Congratulations. I don't need one this week.
Starting point is 01:08:34 No, you're good. Just taking the week off? Yeah, I think I'm good. I think I'm good. All right, guys, we will see you next week. Goodbye, everybody. Theme song written by Bobby Bones. That's me.
