Episode Date: September 24, 2021

Amy says a guy winked at her when she was picking up food. She wants to know if we think she was hitting on her. Lunchbox went out on the street and asked strangers if they would pretend to pose as fa...mous country artists to sing Happy Birthday to his fictional son. In the mailbag, our listener was out to dinner with her partner & another couple. When they split the bill per couple, the couple they were with used a gift card to pay for their bill. Our listener thought they should use the gift card for the whole bill. Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Starting point is 00:02:57 to talk about what we talked about yesterday. For example, the Harry Potter movie, which people are still calling about days after. Me, Eddie, lunch, lunch, We all watched it. For the first time, we'd never seen Harry Potter. Lunchbox and Eddie didn't pass the quiz, so they've got to watch the second one. Connie in Mississippi actually wants to talk about that. Hey, Connie, how are you?
Starting point is 00:03:19 I'm good. How are y'all? I'm good. What do you think here? I think that they both need to watch the movie a second time. They missed way too much of the movie. No, I don't need to. There's a lot of sentiment about that. Thanks. Why are we making you watch the second one until you know and can pass the first one? I think it's not fair that since I'm a bad test taker, I have to rewatch a movie.
Starting point is 00:03:41 I watched it. I can tell you everything about it. I just couldn't name certain things in the movie. What was the name of the stop and the subway? What number was it? Oh, now I know it's nine and a third. No, nine and three quarters. See?
Starting point is 00:03:53 You still are terrible. Oh, he really is a bad test taker. I mean, guys, I watched the movie. In school? Like when you took your, what did you take, A-C-T or SAT? Both. And how did you do? Terrible.
Starting point is 00:04:04 I just couldn't take tests. I remember one teacher making me do Scantrons and then like, well, that's not working. And then they would do essay and then be like, okay, that's a little better. And then they would do fill in the blanks or whatever. And they'd be like, okay, this is your kind of test. Do you see that with your kids at all? No. And how come you're good at easy trivia?
Starting point is 00:04:23 Because I know answers to things. I just, I don't know. Like, that's just life things. When you make me watch a two-hour movie, I know the premise. I watch the whole thing. but I can't remember details in the movie. Even in life, I can't tell you, I don't even know what you wore yesterday. I don't know what you wore yesterday.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Brooks is down hoodie. See? Now that I think about it. Thank you. Amy, you were ADHD? Yeah, I still have it. You do? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:49 I would assume. It doesn't go away. Does that affect your learning as a kid? Absolutely. Yes. And it affected my test taking, especially standardized tests. It was horrible at them. SAT took it three times.
Starting point is 00:05:00 I took the prep course to take it. Second time, I went down. Do you think it was actually your... It was my ability to sit there for that long and focus on what I was doing. Like, I would have to read a question over and over and over until I understood what I needed to do. And I don't know if that... Right, I'm just different. I'm different in that.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Yes, you're gifted when it comes to test taking. I don't know that I'm gifted. You are gifted. You're special. You're gifted and talented. Yes. You would, yes. I went and took all the extra things too.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Yeah, but you just, you retain things. You're not distracted by things. things your brain can focus on what it needs to in the given moment. Even if you think you're not, you're absorbing the information because you're able to recount it almost immediately. Like you, it fascinates me sometimes because you'll read something and then it's stored in the back of your brain and then you'll bust it out in the middle of nowhere and you'll be like, I don't even know honestly where that came from.
Starting point is 00:05:51 But it's because you read it somewhere and you retained it. I read it and I probably have to read it like 10 times. I don't remember the page I just read sometimes. I have to go back and read it again. I can work on it. There's exercises I can do. and I'm actually starting some brain work that may help with ADD so that I can get through it more naturally. Because you know I've medicated myself before and that hasn't gone well.
Starting point is 00:06:13 And you took. I've taken Adderall. Oh yeah. That's what I hear. If I took that, I would be next. I'd be like a superhero. Yeah, yeah. It might, but if you don't need it, it might do other opposite things to you.
Starting point is 00:06:24 Can you imagine if I could be more productive? Well, look, here's the thing. Oh, my. She's right. If you need it, it'll just do its job. If you don't, it's like a drug. But it makes me more productive. Can you?
Starting point is 00:06:36 Hyper-focused. I might be the next Avenger. And I just get crap done. Like they give me a spreadsheet. That's my super... That's cool, man. Yeah, I'm like, all right, give me some papers, boys. Okay, so you're not watching Harry Potter again.
Starting point is 00:06:49 No. Don't need to. I think lunchmarks does. He does for sure. Well, why do I have to? You just admitted you didn't really watch it. You just had a dollar. Yeah, you're right, but I got the same amount of questions right as Eddie.
Starting point is 00:06:59 That's true. Let's do it. Let's open up the mailbag. You send an email and we read it all the air. It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Yeah. Hello, Bobby Bones. My husband and I are friends with a couple who on several occasions will apply gift cards to only their portion of the bill when we go out to eat with them. I feel like if you're not going to share the gift card, then save it and use it when you're out with your own family.
Starting point is 00:07:29 It also drags out the whole payment process. It can already be tricky when dining with the group and it's time to pay. It's even worse when someone pulls out a gift card. My take is that when you're dining with friends and you pull out a gift card, that amount should be applied to the entire bill for everyone's benefit. And then the remaining bill can be split normally. What do you think? And is there a way I can express to them how I feel without upsetting them?
Starting point is 00:07:54 Thank you, signed a loyal listener. I've never heard of this before. I've heard of people using gift cards and is it weird or first date or first date. or I've never heard of someone on a group setting pulling out a gift card and saying this is only for our part. Yeah, but I mean, why does she think that it should cover everybody's part? I'm not saying I would do it,
Starting point is 00:08:14 but why does she think everyone at the table is entitled to their gift card? If they're splitting the bill, I would think if you're pulling out a gift card, that's for the total split. Huh. Otherwise, you save it and do it. Again, I've never even thought about this until this email.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Yeah, me neither. So we're exploring feelings together right now. Yeah, I mean, I would think, Let's say my wife and I go out with Eddie and his wife, and we go to Olive Garden. Basically our favorite place to go. And I pull out an Olive Garden gift card to pay for part of the bill. Eddie, do you think I'm doing it for the whole group? No.
Starting point is 00:08:43 Yeah. You think I'm just doing it for Kately and I's half. Well, my thought is... But if we're splitting it. We're splitting the bill, right? Yeah. But it comes with one bill and you just give your credit cards, your two credit cards. Right.
Starting point is 00:08:52 So instead of a credit card, you just give the gift card. But it may not cover the whole bill. But it covers part of it. Does it cover my side of the bill? I would think... I'm with the emailer here. If someone pulls out a gift card, I think it should be a gift card for the entire bill that's being split. That's a weird assumption.
Starting point is 00:09:09 It is. It is. And it's something I've never thought about before. But if I were to do it, I'm talking about from my side. What if it's the only time you ever, I know she's like, save the gift card for yourself whenever. But what if it's the only time you're going to go? I would still apply it to the group because it just creates an awkward dynamic. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:22 What if you only got that gift card because you got a refund on something and they, instead of giving you cash, they put it back on a gift card or something. And so it's like actual money. It's not like it was this free gift card that was given to you. I still feel like me as a person, if I'm applying a gift card when there's a group, it's toward the group. I'm not saying that I'm right in this, but I know how I would react.
Starting point is 00:09:41 I've got a gift card. It's going to knock the whole bill down and we'll split the whole bill. Yeah. Okay. But it's funny that you guys don't think like that. No. No, I'm saying I would probably do like what you're saying
Starting point is 00:09:51 and I would split it with the table. But if I'm a friend at the table and you did it, I would not expect you to cover part of my bill with your gift card. I just would not. That's interesting. With me, though, what would you expect? Right, you cover the whole bill.
Starting point is 00:10:04 The whole bill, right? Gift card, no gift card. You better pay for this, boo. Okay, Eddie, your situation, what do you think? Not with me, just in general. No, in general, I just feel gift card, credit card, same thing. You just put it down. That covers your part of the bill.
Starting point is 00:10:18 I'm not thinking twice about it. My gift card, my money. I'm not covering you with my gift card. Get out of your emailer. Kick rocks. You're wrong. Well, emailer, I'm the only one who agrees with you. I don't know what that means.
Starting point is 00:10:28 I lost the popular vote. here, but I, if it were me and I'm applying a gift card, I would think it's for the group. Or if I'm out with Eddie and he puts a gift card down and we're splitting it. I would just automatically think of us for the group, yeah. I would. Because we're going to split the bill. That's his money. So you don't split his gift card?
Starting point is 00:10:45 I'm not arguing with you guys. I'm just telling you how I would feel about it. Everyone's acting like a gift card. It's just this like imaginary thing. It is. It's actual money. Eddie puts a $20 bill out there. You expect him to that's half yours?
Starting point is 00:10:57 No chance. Well, if we're splitting the bill, yeah, if it's a $40 bill, it is half a $1. We just split the bill in half. Okay, I'm the only generous one and everybody else. Well, that's how we feel about it. We really don't come to a group consensus. Good luck, but does she confront her friends about it? Nope.
Starting point is 00:11:11 No way. I think we all agree with that. No way. That's just awkward. You don't have that conversation. No, no, no, no. And I wouldn't think if you did that, Amy, and you put it was only for your side. I wouldn't think you were wrong to do it.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Right. But I would be like, well, that was weird. Why didn't you want to apply that toward the whole bill? And to be clear, I would. Hey, wink, wink, wink. No, I would. I just wouldn't expect anyone else to. All right, that's the mailbag.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Close it up. We've got your email and we've read it on your air. Now it's about to close Bobby's Mailpack. Yeah. If you want to email us, all you have to do is send an email to... Mailback at Bobbybones.com. Fun fact Friday. Now time for the most fun facts of the week as curated by Amy.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Let's go. Number five. So you'd think the Disneyland would be real friendly to mice, you know, because Mickey and Minnie and all. But nope, there are about 200 cats that they keep on the property to roam around at night to take care of the rodent population. Oh, no, not a cat.
Starting point is 00:12:15 That's funny. Number four. Speaking of animals, male goats will pee on their own faces to attract females for mating. Why do females like pee face? And how do they do that physically? Maybe they help each other out. I mean, we can do that.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Could you? Oh, yeah. If you're on all fours, follow me, you're on all fours, and you turn your head down and you let it rip, your face it. Absolutely. And then checks galore, apparently. That was my problem. This isn't an original plan, fun fact.
Starting point is 00:12:47 It's a bonus one I'm throwing in here. Did you know birds don't pee? Mm-mm. They don't even have your ethos. All right. Number three. So if you get too drunk or violent in Japan, The police, they get this large futon thing, and they roll you up into a small burrito and carry you away.
Starting point is 00:13:04 Yes. Hey, that's better than handcuffs and taste. Totally. Like, all right, roll them up, boys. It's probably comfy in there. They shoot them with like the marshmallow. Yeah, take a nap. That would be much more comfortable.
Starting point is 00:13:18 By the way, then how do birds get rid of water? Their mouth? Oh, they do everything through their poop. Oh, that's why it's watery poop. Got it. Interesting. I don't know that was that fun, but that's pretty interesting. That's why I just threw it in there because we were talking about animals being.
Starting point is 00:13:33 Number two. So Chris Farley was the original voice of Shrek, and they had recorded 90% of the dialogue when he passed away, and the producers decided not to use an impersonator to finish that last 10% because that would have been easy to do. Instead, they recast Mike Myers in the role, but I got a clip of some of Chris's work. Help! A big, stupid, stinky, smelly, ugly, ugly, I'm so scared. They judge me before they even know me. My folks always told me that everyone loves Zogers.
Starting point is 00:14:07 I see. That had been great. Mike Myers was great and that's how we know Shrek. But if you look at Shrek, it still looks like Chris Farley. Because they make the characters kind of look like the people. And Shrek still looks like Chris Farley. Pretty cool. Number one.
Starting point is 00:14:22 So back in 1990, Muhammad Ali saved the lives of 15 U.S. hostages in Iraq. by going there and negotiating with Saddam Hussein by himself, ignoring warnings from the government and his family to not go do it. But he's like, no, I think I can handle this and make it happen, so he went alone. Crazy. Most famous person in the world for a long, long time. There's a new documentary, four- or five-part documentary about Muhammad Ali in his whole life. Same guy that did the country music documentary.
Starting point is 00:14:48 Oh, okay. Ken Burns. Ken Burns. It's supposed to be really great. His are quite extensive. Yes. They're very detailed. But I was listening to some Ken Burns interviews about. it. And he's like, people have no idea unless they know how famous, how infamous at times,
Starting point is 00:15:05 how loved, how hated Muhammad Ali was. And I don't because I wasn't alive then. So it's like when people go, man, you know what? So and so was the hottest actor in 1963 and all the women swooned. And I'm like, Richard Dreyfus, I don't even know. Or the salad dressing guy. You know that guy? Oh, Paul Newman. Yeah. Like Paul Newman was so hot. I'm like, I don't know him as that. Same thing with Muhammad Ali. Like, I know the history of Muhammad Ali, but I don't, you know, his, his cultural impact was lost on me because I was born after he was making a cultural impact directly. But that's pretty cool. Pretty cool they did that.
Starting point is 00:15:40 But the family's super pumped too. Yeah. They're the biggest Muhammad Ali fans ever. Fun fact Friday. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan number two's 30 second skinny. Ryan Hurd released a new song from his upcoming album. It's called Tab with my name on.
Starting point is 00:15:58 It's called it. Morgan Evans released a new song called Country Out of My Girl. Hardy released a new collaboration with Larry Fleet and John Party. It's called In Love with My Problems. Mickey Guyton released a new album. It's called Remember Her Name. I'm Morgan number two. That's Your Skinny.
Starting point is 00:16:59 It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So I just got a shout out to this guy, Elliot Middleton. He owns a barbecue joint called Middleton and Maker Village Barbecue. And he also gives back to his community by fixing up cars and needs of repair for free and then donating the cars to people in need. His dad was a mechanic, so he grew up knowing how to work on cars and fix them.
Starting point is 00:17:25 And it's just this is how he spends his free time. Hey, good for that guy, helping people's lives. But I don't know anything about cars. Maybe it's because I don't have a dad to teach me how to work on cars. That's probably right. But I know nothing about cars. To the point now where I have no interest because I'm so terrible at it. Maybe I can identify a muffler.
Starting point is 00:17:45 Do they even have those on cars still? Oh, my goodness, yes. It's the back. It's the part. The exhaust comes out. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I know that part, but I mean, if you were to stick three things down in front of me and say, what's this, what's the... I wouldn't know.
Starting point is 00:17:56 And it's not because as a kid I didn't want to know. Just no one was there to teach me. I'd teach my own self out of shave. And I was always against the grain all the time. Do you want me to come over later this week and help you? No, because I'm good now. All right. I've got to figure out.
Starting point is 00:18:10 I have no interest in cars. I'm just, I'm probably that's why I don't care about cars at all. Yeah. Fancy cars, monster trucks. I'm just not a car guy whatsoever. And I like that this guy does this, and his dad taught him the skills and probably taught him how to be a good person as well. Yeah, because he formed a nonprofit. I didn't get out of those.
Starting point is 00:18:30 So I'm such a terrible person. Middleton's Village to Village Foundation, and he's received 800 broken down cars to fix up and give away. That's awesome. That's a great story. Do you teach your kids anything about cars, Eddie? Yeah. Like what? Change a tire.
Starting point is 00:18:44 I just did that one, I don't know, a few months ago. Good skill. My 13-year-old. Good skill. Whenever Arkansas Keith was my stepdad, he does. did teach me how to do that. I was older. I was like 16, so I probably should have already known. But he was like, this kid's an idiot. He at least needs to know how to change a tire. But that's all I know on a car. Hey, sometimes that's all you need to know. I didn't even
Starting point is 00:19:03 how to pop the hood sometimes? I'm like, which button, how do I do this? Under, what does it's the side one? Sometimes it's inside the car. I'm terrible at that. All right, that's what it's all about. Good story. That was Tell Me Something Good. University, an affordable, private, non-profit Christian University based in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona. I just said, hey, guys, I'm in town on vacation. It's my five-year-old's birthday. Will you act like a celebrity? Because I said, I'm going to be in Nashville.
Starting point is 00:23:39 There's celebrities everywhere to see if people would impersonate celebrities and sing to a five-year-old. So you went up and said, hey, please be. Luke Bryan. Yeah, will you be Luke Brian? Will you be... The full your kid. Yeah. Like, will you, it's my 5-year-old's birthday. He will not have any idea who you really are. He'll think you're really Luke Bryan or Faith Hill or... If people did this? Oh, yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Okay, here is... Well, Luke Bryan. So, my nephew's turning 5, right? So I need you to act like Luke Brian and tell him, happy birthday and then sing. Because he thinks celebrities are everywhere... What's his name? Ethan. Hi, Ethan. This is Luke Brian. Hey, make sure.
Starting point is 00:24:17 tell your mom, country girl Shake it for me now Shake it for me now Shake it for me Happy birthday Happy birthday to you Happy birthday to you Happy birthday dear Ethan
Starting point is 00:24:34 Happy birthday to you Wild that he kind of did an impression too Who The next one Which by the way is Ethan a made up name? Yeah I don't really have a five-year-old. I don't have a kid named Ethan.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Who'd you ask for next? George Strait. That's a tough impression. Yeah. Excuse me, man. Can you help me out? Can you act like Chris Stapleton? I don't know who that is.
Starting point is 00:25:02 Okay. Do you know who George Strait is? I know of him. Okay. That's fine. He's five years old. Just say, hey, Ethan, this George Strait and sing a little happy birthday, and he'll think it's George Strait.
Starting point is 00:25:13 Okay. All right. Hey, Ethan, this is George Strait. Just want to say happy birthday. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. It's like, yo, yo, you, Eton. It's your homie George Strait.
Starting point is 00:25:24 It's George Strait for Jersey. I mean, he could, I just sounds nothing like George Strait. I don't even think you tried. I don't even think he really knew George Strait was. But you know what? Good for him for doing it anyway. Yeah, people would be nice.
Starting point is 00:25:38 All right, we have a couple more. Here is Carrie Underwood. Excuse me, ma'am. Can you do me a huge favor? Uh-huh. Okay, I'm going home to my five-year-old, and I told him I was coming to Nashville and I was going to meet celebrities for his birthday. And he's turning five.
Starting point is 00:25:51 Say, hey, Ethan, this is Carrie Underwood. And I just want to sing a little happy birthday to him. Hey, Ethan, this is Carrie Underwood. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, Ethan. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:26:07 Ethan's going to be like, Carrie Underwood kind of sucks, but she's not in a recording studio. Hey, yeah. The woman's like a lot older and you just can't sing at all. One more. The last clip, there are two people here. Yeah, two people. I think it was a husband and wife or boyfriend, girlfriend, and I got one Luke Combs and one Faith Hill. Why don't go Tim McGraw and Faith Hill? Yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:26:29 Now that you say that, I'm like, oh, that'd have been a good idea, but I just really went, you know. Okay, okay, here we go. Hey, Ethan, this is loose comb. Happy birthday to you. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. What did he say? This is who? Hey, Ethan, this is loose comb. Happy birth.
Starting point is 00:26:46 to you, Happy birthday to you, happy birthday Day, Ethan, happy birthday to you. All right, now you're going to be Faith Hill. Who? Faith Hill.
Starting point is 00:26:59 Are you joking? What are you doing for this for real? No, really. Oh. Hey, Ethan, this is Faith Hill. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you.
Starting point is 00:27:19 Well, then it convinced me. I wasn't even sure that was her, but now I let me say this to all five of these people they did it I think they should be applauded for taking one for the team
Starting point is 00:27:30 yes now I thought Luth Combs was funny Our Luth Combe Hey Ethan This is Luth Combe Hey Steve Luth Combe
Starting point is 00:27:41 That's awesome Good for them The only one that kind of though resembled it was Luke Brian Yeah He actually knew who he was The rest that were just like
Starting point is 00:27:49 Whatever man Let's check some voicemails We got last night Here you go. Number one. Hey, Bobby, I was just going to let you know how well you helped me with a job interview USDA. It was a smash. I mean, it went so well that I was like, I don't even know what I need to say next. She was a Bobby Bowden listener, so it made it so much easier. It talks about punctuality. I set up my truck for 10 and 15 minutes because I got there too early.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Hilarious. Love that. They talked about you the whole time, dude. Well, listen to God and they're early. I'm a big punctuality guy. Only two things you can control. And I'll say it again. The only two things you can control are if you get there on time and your attitude. That's it. And you get there on time is part of your work ethic. That's it. Period in life.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Your attitude and your work ethic, that's all you can control everything else. He's got to fall into place. Congratulations. I hope you get that job. I like that. Here's Amy's pile of stories. So I have mindless habits that are making us tired. Things we're doing.
Starting point is 00:28:51 We don't even realize they're exhausting us. Okay, leaving TV on at night while I sleep. Probably for me. Yeah, that's probably for you. Well, speaking of TV, it says watching emotionally charged shows, especially if you're trying to wind down, which I feel like this is true for me. Like, I've been watching Scott Peterson,
Starting point is 00:29:08 and I get all worked up, and then I can't sleep. We finished nine perfect strangers. Oh. Season finale, right before bed, probably not the best thing to do. Yeah. Did you finish? I'm not done yet.
Starting point is 00:29:22 I still have one more. I'm not going to spoil it. You act like I'm you. What? No. You act like you're looking at you're right. No. No, you're, you act like I thought you were, you're, I'm Eddie.
Starting point is 00:29:30 I'm not, I don't spoil things anymore. Oh boy. Working at a messy desk, a cluttered environment can, you know, wear you out because it's harder to pay attention. And this one got me because I do this, having too many tabs open on your computer. They say you should just have open exactly what you need, but bouncing back and forth to all these tabs makes you tired. One tab to max.
Starting point is 00:29:50 That's if I, I'm very deliberate. Oh, if I open my computer right now, I have seven tabs open. No way. But you also have 100 text messages you haven't read. Okay. Slouching is something else, not dimming the lights at night to prepare your body for bed and letting little tasks pile up. All right. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:08 Luke Bryan, he's a big fan of Yellowstone. And simply watching that makes him want to do a cowboy song. And he's like, I get it. I'm obviously not a cowboy, but it makes me wonder how I can do a really retro-sounding cowboy song. you know, that he, that fits his vibe. Easy answer, you bring a cowboy in. Like? Well, like a country music cowboy and do a duet with them.
Starting point is 00:30:31 Okay. Be like, I've always dreamed of being a cowboy. Then you tell a cowboy story. And then you bring in a, I mean, I don't know the Toby Keith's a real cowboy. John Pardt. He's a real cowboy. Yes. And then John's like, and I am that real cowboy.
Starting point is 00:30:46 You know, that's how you do a cowboy song, not as a cowboy. Well, there you go. Send that to Luke. Okay. And then lastly, I've got a PSA for everyone to start your Christmas shopping now, which might sound crazy because it's like fall just started and we're still in September. But they say because of COVID, there's all these supply chain shortages happening. Like even Target put out an announcement that they're getting a bunch of toys and different things in. But they may not be able to restock later on in the year.
Starting point is 00:31:13 And then boom, you're out of luck when it comes to Christmas presents. I think they're tricking us. I'll be honest with you. I think they're tricking us. They do this with Jordans. They do this with PlayStation. And then you line up all day And then all of a sudden there's a few more Christmas
Starting point is 00:31:25 And you're spending money in September I would think that it's good to buy early anyway If you can That way you haven't covered When do you typically start your Christmas shopping? For the people that I really care about October Early
Starting point is 00:31:38 It's coming up Because I don't want to be struggling To find something last minute But I don't know I think they're kind of getting it Although Sonics had a nerd shortage At certain Sonics Oh that's right
Starting point is 00:31:50 And I don't know it's COVID or not. It's got to be. Everything's COVID. But I'm so happy they're back at the sonic near my house. All right, is that it? Yep, I made me. That's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:32:03 Stay home there's something good. 79-year-old Kenny is a U.S. Navy veteran, lives in Minnesota, and he rolls around town on his mobility scooter. Well, he met this woman Amanda who decided to start putting his little videos up on TikTok for him, patriotic Kenny on TikTok, and it shows him going through town on the scooter. He shares life advice. Well, he got on there the other day. I was like, hey, guys, I got bad news.
Starting point is 00:32:27 My scooter is broken beyond repair. And everybody that watches his TikTok video started donating. And $100,000 in donations got him a mobility scoot, a new one. And then also a one that can travel with him so it's like a fold up a smaller size so he can go on trips. That's pretty cool. I did see that for the first time ever TikTok was the most downloaded app, more than Facebook. Wow. Because Facebook
Starting point is 00:32:50 I just always maintained number one, years and years and years but TikTok overtook it. TikTok overtook it. Back in the early days, you guys are like, probably only 12 year olds
Starting point is 00:32:59 on TikTok and I was like, and I was like, guys, I'm telling you it's the best content. No, it's you and a bunch of 12 year olds. Remember all those days? You used to shame me.
Starting point is 00:33:07 You were ahead of the curve just like you were on COVID. Yeah, you are a lot of times. You are often ahead of the curve. I just need to hear this. Thank you. Congratulations. It's just been a rough day today.
Starting point is 00:33:17 We were wrong. You were right. They're smarter than us. They're dumb. Okay, okay, now we're going a little overboard here. All right, good story, lunchbox. That is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good.
Starting point is 00:33:30 Yesterday I expressed my desire to be in one of those fighter jets. That looks like a cool picture. You put the suit on, you put the mask on, Highway to the danger zone, and you're flying. And you guys said, well, you get motion sick in a car, so that's probably not the best idea. You'd never make it. I think it would be cool.
Starting point is 00:33:48 It's an experience that I would do. And I'm not an adrenaline junkie at all. But on the phone right now is Lauren in Kansas. Lauren, what did you want to say? Good morning, show. Good morning. Hey, so I have the perfect idea for your motion sick photo opportunities. Here in Benton, Kansas at the Stearman Airfield Bar and Grill,
Starting point is 00:34:09 during event days, we have something called the Top Gun Photo Off. And you actually get to get suited up in the full outfit, get put inside of, of a half plane, and then you get to take as many pictures as you want and pretend like you're actually doing it, but you don't go up in the air. That's cute. That's fun, but I'd be a total loser. Yeah. Well, if people want to do that, it's not losery, but you want to actually go out. I would be a total loser in my own mind if I did that. Yeah, I want to go and vomit
Starting point is 00:34:37 everywhere. But on Instagram, they would think you're cool. Yeah, but they wouldn't. They'd know. Somebody would go, I saw you at Bar and Grill. There's a car in the background? Book. You see the guy flipping burgers, like in their corner. Yeah. I saw a TikTok where a guy's like best $200 bucks ever spent. And he's sitting in a private plane.
Starting point is 00:34:55 He's sitting like at the bowl table eating some food. And then he gets up and he walks his plate and he walks out. And it's just a private airplane like hub that you can go take pictures in. Hilarious. And then you see him walk out of like the little warehouse that it was in. He never went up in the air. He never went up in the air. No, but people do that.
Starting point is 00:35:11 But it looked just like it. Yes. It's pretty cool. You're like, dang, they got a baller. $200. I have a theory though on people that post pictures in private plays. If you see someone flying in a private plane and they're posting a picture, it's because they want you to see them in a private plane because they don't fly in a private plane that often. People that fly in private planes all the time don't need to show you they fly in private planes.
Starting point is 00:35:31 People that take pictures in private planes want to show you like, look at me. I'm a baller. There's a big difference. And so when I see someone posting a picture in a private plane, I'm like, okay, they're trying to flex. But we really know they're not that flexible. Okay. Because I'm thinking there are some of these like really rich movie stars. and actors who are always on the plane.
Starting point is 00:35:51 But that's next level. I'm not talking about that. That's like them posting getting in a car. Yes. Okay. Every day. But like, you know. I got you. I see what you're saying. If you see someone posting in the private planes because they don't fly on a private plane that much. Okay, let's go over and do the morning corny with Amy.
Starting point is 00:36:12 The morning corny! What do you call a man that shaves ten times a day? What do you call a man that shaves? 10 times a day. A barber. That's not a joke. That's a riddle. Is it?
Starting point is 00:36:27 All right, there you go. That was the morning corny. Because if you told that, people wouldn't laugh. It'd go, oh, you got me. Okay, fine. I'll do another one. Why shouldn't you buy lettuce from a grocery store called the Mamas and Pappas?
Starting point is 00:36:44 Why shouldn't you buy lettuce from a grocery store called the Mamas and the Pappas? Because all the leaves are. brown, the leaves are brown. Yeah, that's it. Nice, that's a good joke. So in case, well, let's explain it. That's California, California dreaming.
Starting point is 00:37:02 Not such a winter's day. Stopped into a church. So here are three myths debunked. If I say chloroform, what do you think about? Killing people. Well, it's that thing they put on their face when they're like, yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's not killing.
Starting point is 00:37:19 them, it just kind of knocks them out. Oh, right. Like they'll run out behind them, put it on their face, and they just go, and they pass out. Grenades, right? You pull the pen, chunk it, boom, and then quicksand, you get it, you're like, oh, I can't get out. Right, the sand goes down. Okay, here is the TikTok by this guy named Andy. It's Andy Y. G-ang, and he enjoys sharing random facts and knowledge with his followers. Here we go. In the real world, chloroform just isn't that effective. It generally takes around five minutes for someone to get knocked out, not just a few seconds. Number two, pulling a grenade pin out with your teeth.
Starting point is 00:37:51 If you prevent accidental explosions, real-life grenade pins are designed to be extremely difficult to pull out. And if you try it with your teeth, you'll probably break your teeth. And number one, if you watch a lot of movies, you probably think falling in quicksand is like a death scent. In reality, quicksand is literally just mud mixed with water and sometimes clay. And also, a pretty vast majority of quicksand just pulls you waist deep and doesn't pull you any deeper.
Starting point is 00:38:11 So yeah, it's pretty harmless. Hey, quicksand, you'd think people to get sucked under into the earth. Wow. Okay. And gone. It would be pretty cool to throw a grenade by buying the pen though. Yes. Who did that?
Starting point is 00:38:22 Every one movie back in the day. Chuck Norris probably. I don't know if Chuck threw a lot of grenades, did he? He didn't? I think he's doing a lot of fighting. He's not. I think Chuck Norris was born in like the 30s too. What?
Starting point is 00:38:35 It's crazy that he's been so culturally relevant or at least talked about. Isn't Chuck Norris near 80 years old, Mike? He's what? He's 81 years old. I didn't realize that. Starting point is 00:47:38 Not sure I can get the... That's a pretty tough one if you're not a sports fan. I mean, like, maybe they fit on one hand. So five. Maybe it's a little bit more than that. Six. Something about six. Seems right, but maybe that's Tom Brady.
Starting point is 00:47:56 Togable. Is it like 10? No, that's a lot. Morgan didn't answer? Six. Correct. Oh! Nice work.

Starting point is 00:51:16 The storming of Bastille. Where's Bastille? Bastilia. If you miss it, lunchbox is still in it. Is it Italy? What country? What country?
Starting point is 00:51:26 Man, Bastille. Bastil. Hey, we stormed the Bastille. Italian or Spain? It's got to be one of the two. Bastille. Let's go Spain. What would you say, lunchbox?
Starting point is 00:51:38 Spain. It's France. See, that's why you guys have to stop doing them. I do it. Because you never do. Eddie. You've been Bo. Unless Morgan doesn't get hurt.
Starting point is 00:51:48 That's true. Morgan, if you get this, you win and you get a point. I know I really need one. Let's go, Morgan. I know I really need it. Let's not get it right. It's in the category is music. Okay, you can do this.
Starting point is 00:51:57 What country did the country. band ACDC originate in. Yes. Oh gosh. Are you kidding? Yes. So sad. Okay. Um, ACDC is a rock band. Nice. That's true. That's true. Um, well, if they, maybe the United States is what it is. I mean, it's a rock band. But it could be England. It could be Australia. I mean, I'm shooting darts here. I have no idea.
Starting point is 00:52:28 So, United States. Man, you said Australia. It was Australia. Oh! When you said it. I didn't lunch. I thought it was America. I know I'm at.
Starting point is 00:52:38 You said Australia. I got a bone in you. Then we'll come back. You've been bow. Okay. Wow, that was amazing. Yes. If she'd have got six and Australia.
Starting point is 00:52:48 That would have been so cool. Okay. You three are still in it. Yeah. Morgan, you still have a shot. You get one question. Buzz in when you know the answer. By buzzing and.
Starting point is 00:52:58 you buzz in with your name. Come on. Here's your question. What bones are babies? Ludge box. Knecks. They don't have kneecaps.
Starting point is 00:53:08 That's right. That's right. Give it to me. I didn't hear the question. Boom. They're born without bones. That's the question. What bone are babies born without
Starting point is 00:53:16 and it's kneecaps? I won. Hit my song, Ray. I don't even need to hear the answer. Hit it. Go ahead. Hit it. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:53:24 Hold on. You do have been bones. Ray just hit it. Let's jump to Kinklisham. Okay. The question is, what bones are babies born without kneecaps? That's great. Yeah!
Starting point is 00:53:33 Yeah! See, guys, when he does it, he jumps in at risks every time and wins most times with a risk. You guys are all sitting back being concerned. Yeah, but I didn't even know the question. I know, but he doesn't. He figures out the question. He even guesses at the question sometimes. No, he knew exactly that they didn't have kneecaps.
Starting point is 00:54:01 This guy's the winner. That was awesome today. Okay. Lunchbox is the winner. Nice job. You get you a point. That's a good win. man, that's a good win. I mean, not
Starting point is 00:54:11 the greatest game all around. That's a good that's a good win. Okay, walk us through it. So I went to pick up food. It's a place we go to regularly. There wasn't anybody else in there, though. And when I went to pay, he said on the house. You know, I figured
Starting point is 00:54:29 because we're loyal customers, kind of a weird thing, and we had to wait a little bit longer. So then nothing weird about that, I just thought, oh, that's so nice, right? Well, then I I'm walking out and I'm super grateful. So I turned back and say thank you and kind of give a little wave. And he winks at me.
Starting point is 00:54:48 So then I left and I was like, wait a second. Why did I get free food and what was the wink for? And maybe it was all innocent. It could be totally fine. Or was there a message being sent? Well, what's weird is now you have to go back and see him again. I don't know. Have you ever seen him before?
Starting point is 00:55:07 Yes. Okay. But I don't know that I will. I don't know. Have you all ever flirted before, Amy? No. Have you ever winked at him? No.
Starting point is 00:55:14 Ever licked your lips at him? No. No. When you were walking away, were you like shaking it? No. It's like I had the food to her. I was like, oh wow. And I turned back and I did give like a thanks and like a wave.
Starting point is 00:55:27 Bite you, buy chelette. No. But then, you know. And then maybe that was his reaction of like a wink can also mean like, no problem. Yeah. But on the house and then. no problem. And then a wink. But they messed up your order? Why was it on the house again?
Starting point is 00:55:44 Because it took a little longer than usual. Okay. How old was the guy? Because I think there's an age thing. If you're over 55, I think a wink just happens. He's not over 55. Like a nervous twitch? No, like I think winking in the 80s, 70s was much more acceptable. It's just like a gesture of what's up. Okay.
Starting point is 00:56:04 I don't know his exact age, but thankfully he looks like nothing. thing that would listen to our, he's not listening to this show, trust me. Because he's older? Or I wouldn't be able to bring it up. Or younger. He's younger. He's younger. He's not, he's not older. He's like, I don't know. I see, I see myself as younger. If he's under 40 and he's winking, he's trying to get some action. He's under. He's either my age or under. I don't know, because I feel like I'm young, but I'm 40. If he's winking, he's trying to get some action. Okay. Well, awkward. Did you wink back?
Starting point is 00:56:35 No. I walked out and was like, huh, no, it's interesting. Did you feel good though? Yeah. Did it make you feel like desired? But I didn't know he's just being nice. No, because I was perplexed by it. Under 40, anything free, that's a wink. That means he wants some action.
Starting point is 00:56:48 Not. Or are you open to action? Did you have a pineapple upside down? What does that mean? Does that mean something? A tattoo of a pineapple upside down? What does that mean? When someone wears a pineapple upside down.
Starting point is 00:57:00 Where? Well, earring anywhere. An upset pineapple means there's swingers. Are you serious? You didn't know that? No. TikTok. So like if you have a sweatshirt with a pineapple upside down or like you're walking around
Starting point is 00:57:13 with a pineapple upside down, that's supposed to be the sign of like, what's up? Huh. I'll keep that in mind. Eddie, it appears is in his ear. Has anyone else heard that before? Hey, Scoobba Steve has? He's heard of everything. There's like a pineapple.
Starting point is 00:57:28 Like when you come into someone's home, there's like a pineapple on display when you first walk in or on their front porch. There's also a sign that that's their house. Okay. The party for that. Okay. Well, I could see a pineapple on the porch. a message, but I've had plenty of pineapples on my kitchen counter, and that could be very confusing.
Starting point is 00:57:41 Hey, maybe he saw that dropping off food the last time. Mike D, what do you think? I've heard couples do this at grocery stores. If you put a pineapple in your car upside down, that's like a sign. But that's so confusing, because you could just put a pineapple in your car and be misunderstood. Amy ordered a lot of pineapples. She's now just figuring out her whole pineapple order from this guy. Yeah, what?
Starting point is 00:58:02 You guys, somehow I got on Swinger TikTok. No, really? Yes. I thought you said TikTok finds out the content you want and it gives it to you. And I was interested in it. That's your echo chamber? I was like, dang, I can't believe that. Anybody else have been put on swing or TikTok?
Starting point is 00:58:16 No. It's all the upside down pineapples? No. I started swiping out of it pretty quick. Is it? But I had no idea. Is it kind of fascinating? Yes, it's very fascinating.
Starting point is 00:58:23 So much so I wondered if it was even real. But then they've heard about it too. So, okay, well, no pineapples. He's probably just being nice. No, he wants to. Pull the room. Does he want, is he looking for some smooches? Uh, Eddie.
Starting point is 00:58:37 I think we have a problem here. There are two people that always say people are hidden on them when they're... It's Lunchbox and Amy. No, I don't say that. You guys have to say that a lot. So just take things as a regular gesture. They're trying to be nice. You say no.
Starting point is 00:58:48 Okay, Morgan. Yeah, I think he was. Lunchbox. I mean, Amy's flaunting it. She's a hottie. She's walking in there. It's a good point. Did you have on?
Starting point is 00:58:56 Exactly. What did you have on? Yeah, I normally do. Your pants with no shirt covering the butt? Yeah. Oh, definitely. He saw you walking away and you look back and you kind of gave him a smile like, thank you.
Starting point is 00:59:06 and he took that as you flirting with him so he gave you the wink like yeah I'm flirting back okay I did not flirt with him no no Ray I promise well what he did was on the slide gave it to her for free so he gave her a wink like just gave that to you as a hookup that's all that was yeah not a flirt not a flirt I think he's flirting three two flirting
Starting point is 00:59:24 and I would like explanation on you thinking that I think that people are hitting on me because I don't a lot of times you're like that is not no okay let's exhibit B Amy goes what was it like I think of another one Oh, the cashier. At the grocery store. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:41 What do you do? I don't remember. Oh, you're the one that came to us and said, oh, he keeps asking me for my ID or something. Oh, yeah, yeah, that's it. Your number. That's what it was. Your number. And you're like, see.
Starting point is 00:59:50 You're like, he-he-hee-hee. You're like, hey, hey, hey, want my number. No, they needed to verify you're like, you're good. And you're thirsty. See, that was. I'm not thirsty. But that one was confusing. I thought he wanted my number.
Starting point is 01:00:01 I rest our case, right, guys. I'm not in the same category as lunchpot. It's time for the good news With Bobby Tell me something good The newly reopened Country Diner in Heinz, Pennsylvania was packed during a lunch rush
Starting point is 01:00:19 When the woman walks in and goes Hey, who's the manager? She's like, I'm the manager She goes, hey, I want to pay for everybody's bill And so she said she waited on this lady And it was time to pay her bill And she was like, I want to get every single person in here She was like, okay
Starting point is 01:00:33 So the anonymous diner paid hundreds of dollars to pay for every meal in there, then also tip the two servers $100,000, which is pretty awesome. Yeah. It's pretty awesome, and it's pretty scary to do that once. I got somebody's meal, and then they ran up like a humongous tab. That happens. It's the risk you take, though.
Starting point is 01:00:54 It is the risk I take. I did that once, and I was like, you know, I'm not going to do that version anymore. But she did it. She walked in and was like, hey, I want to get everybody. And she wanted to remain anonymous. Which, why do it if you're going to remain anonymous? And you're telling me not one person in that place had a phone and took a picture of the Good Samaritan and put it up and we can't find out how she is. Come on.
Starting point is 01:01:14 She could have paid and left before everybody else was told. Oh, no, she's got to announce it before she leaves, right? Like, hey, guys, just one to let you know. You ever go around for a whole, like a whole bar, like on TV? No, it would be really expensive, man. No, I have no idea how that works. Do you know how expensive that would be? Sometimes on TV, they're like, hey, next round's on me. And they go, hey!
Starting point is 01:01:33 Yeah, yeah, that's on TV, bones. Yeah. No way. If there's more than like 10 people in there, that's trouble. Has that ever happened for you in a bar where someone bought? No. No. No.
Starting point is 01:01:43 Why do they do that on TV then? Because they just make up fake scenarios. But there is times where someone buys like eight shots and you're just standing there and they go, oh, here you want one even though they don't know who you are. But you're not buying the whole bar. There's a lot of things on TV and a movies, Bobby, that just aren't real. But that's happened so many times. I just thought it's part of the culture.
Starting point is 01:02:01 Like somebody goes in after a good day and is like, hey, guys, next round's on me. Hey! No, never? Ray, is it ever ever happen with you? No, absolutely not. That would be epic, though. Wow.
Starting point is 01:02:13 Here you go. This is on Reddit. See, I've always wondered if someone were to buy a whole round or pay for everyone's drinks, is that a pain in the butt for the bartender? And that's a question too. And they answer,
Starting point is 01:02:26 I've only ever seen this once. The guy was hosting some snowboard viewing party and said, hey, I want to get everybody's here. The tab was 6. $1,600. Okay, see, yep, that's ridiculous. Rounded it to $2,000 after the tip.
Starting point is 01:02:40 The guess is I could not believe it. Yep, I'm out. I'm not paying $2,000. Unless you won the lottery. What about next round on me? Then if someone says that, do you go get the most expensive tequila? Ding, ding, ding.
Starting point is 01:02:52 Yeah, but then how does, if everyone in the bar is getting one drink, then how do you keep tabs on who's gotten their drink? I'm just very disappointed in my life right now, because I thought this happened sometimes. And I just was never in there when it happened. Because no one's ever, I don't go into many bars, but I've never had someone going, next round on me. Hey, why don't you do that lunchbox at like a bar when there's not a whole lot of people there and see if you can get a reaction.
Starting point is 01:03:15 Okay, next round's on me. Got it. And you want him to be for it? You can go to a lunchbox. No, I'm going to go with Scoob, I'll take a company card. I need to check that with Scuba. No, I checked. I'm good.
Starting point is 01:03:26 Scooby, do you ever get in trouble for spending the company card? No, because I always get permission in advance from the higher ups to make sure that it doesn't fall back on me. So I'll put the asking right now. I just think it's him going into a bar with four or five people in it. Yeah, we can go to like a lunchtime bar somewhere around here where there's not many people, yeah. Totally. And be like, hey, I've had a great day. Next round's on me.
Starting point is 01:03:43 And then wait and see if they all go, hey. Yeah, he can't start the A. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that'd be a fun bit. Okay, this is a tell me something good. Shout out to her. We don't know who she is, but that's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good.

A lot of people on the phone talking about buying shots for the entire bar when I was like, does that ever happen? You know, I've never seen it happen. Let's talk to Mickey in Virginia, who is on line number one. Mickey, what's going on? Good morning, Bobby. Good morning, studio.
Starting point is 01:07:41 Morning. How are you guys today? We're pretty good. What do you think about this? Well, I was a bartender in Key West for about 10 years at a pretty popular Irish bar. And multiple times over the years, somebody to come in and say, I want to buy a round for the bar, or even say, I want to buy 300 shots of Jameson or Yeager for the bar. happened a lot. What'd that cost? Jameson, probably like
Starting point is 01:08:07 $3,500, give or take for Warner Shots. Oh, that's crazy. Why would someone come in and do that? And do they announce it, like, on TV, where they're like, one for the bar! Hey! So it really depended. We had live entertainment, so the entertainers on stage were really good at hyping that up,
Starting point is 01:08:25 and then we had certain people that would come down every single year, and once they got on stage to hang out with the entertainers, They would be like, are you going to buy another round for the bar this year? And they'd be like, yes. And then they, you know, oh, we got 250 people here. Buy a shot, everybody a shot of whatever. And then they're out $3,500. Wow.
Starting point is 01:08:43 Eish. Yep. Yep. Eish. All right. Hey, thank you for the call. No problem. We enjoy it you guys. Appreciate that.
Starting point is 01:08:48 Thank you for listening. Let's go over and catch up on the news. Bobby's Big. Stories. Some updates in the Gabby Petito story. Apparently they're saying that guy can be gone for a while because he knows how to survive in the wilderness. Have you guys seen this story? Brian Laundrie
Starting point is 01:09:05 is quote well equipped to survive months in the 25,000 acre Florida Nature Reserve as Gabby Petito's best friend reveals he's gone off the grid before and lived in the Appalachians by himself. Wow. The manhunt enters another day. That's from the Daily Mail. You know, I said how long is he going to
Starting point is 01:09:21 last out there? Not thinking that he actually knew how to last out there. But, you know, also when his parents said, this is me just speculating, when his parents were like, yeah, he's here at the house, He won't talk. I was watching John Walsh, who does America's Most Wanted, go, is what he was saying. He thinks they were just doing that.
Starting point is 01:09:40 And he wasn't there. And he was actually already on the run, giving him time to get away. Yeah. Yeah. That's unfortunate. If I were to do something like that and I went home and told my parents about it, they would have sent me to jail. They would have whooped me first. Well, yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:55 Mid over. Yeah. They would call 911. There is a federal warrant out for him. Hey, Mike, do you have? an update on this? Mike D. said he had something. Well, I was looking at something today. There was somebody in Canada who said they possibly spotted him outside
Starting point is 01:10:07 of a hotel. There was a man who appeared frantic. He looked like them, and I guess they're looking into it. He kind of looks like him. But the thing is, he's a bald guy on top with the beard. A lot of people I know that are bald on top grow a beard to have hair on their head. Overcompensate. Scoobo Steve. Oh, true. I wasn't thinking about Scoob of Steve, but
Starting point is 01:10:26 Amy's throwing darts this morning. No. I... Overcompensate? That's what it is. I'm calling too, dude. Get out of here. I did it. Oh, Eddie, he's calling you off.
Starting point is 01:10:36 Oh, wow. That was for you. I was just giving an example. I never said over. That's a common look for somebody who has their head bald. A lot of guys that grow their beard out after that. I didn't yell overcompensating. Eddie.
Starting point is 01:10:48 I did. I did not. It's like the little guy on the big truck. You know what I mean? No. It is not the same thing. Hey, Scoot does have a truck this really big. There you.
Starting point is 01:10:57 Bro, good morning to you as well. Oh my. Harry Potter star Tom Felton Who played Guys Iran Weasley Ormine
Starting point is 01:11:09 No Malfoy The Little Blind kid He collapsed during a celebrity golf match And I wouldn't even know who this guy was But I saw the story Went into it I was like there's Malphoy
Starting point is 01:11:19 Because you just watched the movie He just watched the movie for the first time He's an adult He's like 34 years old So what did he do? He collapsed Oh collapsed I thought you said clap
Starting point is 01:11:29 I heard clap too And I was like Well, that's not a story if he clapped at a golf tournament. That's what we were wondering. I got a little excited talking about Malfoy. Oh, is he going to be okay? I think so. Okay.
Starting point is 01:11:40 Yeah, I mean, yes, I wouldn't have brought it in if he wasn't, but yes, I think he's going to be okay. Malphoy. Ashley McBride was injured in a horseback riding accident. Had Ashley over at the house five or six days ago. She's on, we put a new Bobbycast up today with Dina Carter, but the one before that is with Ashley McBride. and for an hour we just hung out.
Starting point is 01:12:02 I guess after that she needed to go horseback riding and then she fell out the horse. She is recovering after being treated by EMTs and hospital staff in Missoula, Montana. A note on her Instagram page says she got several stitches and is sore after the accident. There are no details on what happened just as she was out enjoying her time in Montana
Starting point is 01:12:17 and things went sideways. She posted a video and I guess her team posted stuff on her story. But I hope she gets better quick. Really like her. She needed to go and blow off some steam after our interviews how I took that. I know. I'm like, oh, wow, she's on this horse ride in Montana. Life is good.
Starting point is 01:12:34 Yeah. All right, that's the news. Close it up. Those were Bobby's Big. Stories. Let's talk to Aaron in Iowa, who was on the phone. Aaron, how are you today? I'm great.
Starting point is 01:12:48 How are you? Doing pretty good. What can I help you with? Well, I am from a very small town in Iowa, and it's not uncommon for someone to buy a round for the bar. and when that happens The bartender just gives everybody a drink chip That's worth a couple bucks
Starting point is 01:13:01 And then we can use it whenever we want So you don't have to use it right then No No In fact I think I've got a couple of my first So it's not 3,500 bucks there in your small town I guess depending on the bar
Starting point is 01:13:14 It could cost you $50 bucks That's more the kind of bar I would do it in Right I'd look around there's nobody there It's 2 p.m. Around for the house One guy in the corner It's like from the Simpsons
Starting point is 01:13:25 Like Moe's Bar All right hey thank you for the I hope you have a great day. You too, thanks so much. All right, bye-bye. Monday will be fun because Lunchbox is driving out to the crater of Diamond State Park in Arkansas to find a diamond,
Starting point is 01:13:37 and if it's over a million dollars, he's quitting the show. This could be life-changing. You could hear it live on the air. Yeah, I'm out. See you later. Moving to an island. Okay. This is not enough to move to an island.
Starting point is 01:13:47 Okay, you say so. Well, you could move to an island. We do say so. Any island. Sure. But you're not going to be able to survive. You're not going to go to the beach. I'm talking about, he's not.
Starting point is 01:13:57 You could live on a lake, like a small island on a lake, sure. I think you guys are underestimating the power of a million. He thinks he's going to buy an island. Also, you don't get the full million, which taxes hit it. Well, I mean, who said I got to sell it on the straight up market? Oh, he's going to go black market. But you're still going to hide the money? Yeah, I mean, I'm not going to report that.
Starting point is 01:14:16 Which, by the way, our CEO sent a note about lunchboxes. I swear to you, I'm not kidding. This is awkward. This is what, expense stuff? Yes. I promise you. Why you got to go to the CEO? He didn't.
Starting point is 01:14:27 I didn't. He heard it. Our CEO listens to the show. That's awkward. Yeah, Bobby sent me a screenshot of this email and my mouth dropped and I was like, OMG. Yeah, apparently someone in his family sent him a note going, hey, I would check. We got a bunch of tattle tales.
Starting point is 01:14:41 Lunchbox is an expense report. So your expense report story where you were going to double dip got to our CEO. I don't know what that means. Was he proud of me? No, I wouldn't say that was the case. Oh. But we'll leave that there. I thought he'd think of me as a businessman making a business deal trying to get that money.
Starting point is 01:14:56 Hustling. I mean, sure. Sure. Every day I'm hustling. Anyway, he's going to Arkansas next week. We first heard about Kevin Kinnard, who found a 9.07-carat diamond. We talked to him on the show. Then in June, a guy from Washington traveled down to Arkansas.
Starting point is 01:15:12 I found a 2.2-carat diamond. Boom. And so Lunchbox said he wanted to go do this, so we're doing it. And he's going to drive over, thanks to our friends at Hyundai, drive over that 20-22 Hyundai, Tucson. You guys are leaving at like 8 a.m. Central, right? Abby's driving. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:26 I hear Abby's got drive the whole time because lunchbox is a driver's license. Oh, man, guys. Oh, my goodness. It is going to be a rough road trip. Me sitting in the passenger seat taking naps. Abby has to drive the seven and a half hours there, the seven and a half hours back. Oh, while I just chillax. That is messed up.
Starting point is 01:15:42 Wait, that's not my fault. So Monday they go. Tuesday, we check in with him. And then Wednesday we'll find out exactly if he found anything. Okay. Or will we? Like, you may not show up. No, you have to update us.
Starting point is 01:15:54 No, I do not. Well, then Abby will. Yeah, I'll be on an island. Abby's in here because she came on the air last week or so. I was like, hey, I don't know why I can't get a second date with these guys. Because you would go on a first date and they would say, let's go out again, but then they would cancel. And so you talked about it on the show and then people started DMing you and your Instagram. They did.
Starting point is 01:16:14 A lot? Yes, there were a lot. Can you read me a couple of them? So here's the thing about these. Why I'm conflicted is because they're all from private accounts. So I can't see what they look like or I don't know anything about them, you know? So I'm like, where do I go with this? Like you can't go and look at the person's account.
Starting point is 01:16:31 And you don't want to follow a private account just to be like, I'm not interested, unfollow immediately. But you can base it on how wonderful that message is. Well, let's hear some of these messages. Yeah, I need to hear them. Read me one of them, please. Okay, so a lot of them, this one really caught my attention because it was very different. I think he's trying to be funny. And it was funny.
Starting point is 01:16:49 And, okay, so he said, hey, Abby, every time we're on the show, I get so happy because you're so kind and funny. and your voice is like a baby angel tickling my soul. If I ever got to go on a hiking date with you with a little coffee thrown in for extra razzle-dazzle, I think I'd be able to die a happy man. Excuse me. So, look, I think it's funny, and he's trying to catch my attention, and he did.
Starting point is 01:17:13 But then some of my friends were like, that's a little weird. Yeah. But he just uses some funny words, like razzle-dazzle. And baby angel tickling my soul. A baby tickling anything. It's weird. Interesting.
Starting point is 01:17:25 choice of words. I don't hate it, though. No, it definitely probably stood out. Right, the goal was to stand out. Uh-huh. And it did. Read it again? Read it again. Yeah, because there were three instances there.
Starting point is 01:17:38 Hey, Abby. Every time we're on the show, I get so happy because you're so kind and funny, and your voice is like a baby angel tickling my soul. If I ever got to go on a hiking date with you with a little coffee thrown in for extra razzle dazzle, dazzle, I think I'd be able to die a happy man. Ding, three, dying a happy man. I'm into this guy. Okay, I did not respond yet.
Starting point is 01:18:00 But have you seen his picture? Well, I mean, yeah, I've seen it, but it's just like a little picture. In a circle? Then reply back, don't request. Say, hey, I appreciate the message. But I can't see who you are because your page is on private. Take a screenshot of it and then zoom in on a little circle. She's probably done that.
Starting point is 01:18:16 Yeah, I mean, that's what you do immediately. But I don't know where he lives or anything. You know, that's the thing. You just don't know anything. Just message them back and say, hey, this was a great message. I-O-L. Does she like it, though? Yeah, she does.
Starting point is 01:18:26 I can do. Okay. She said that. She said that it was funny to her. It is funny. It's different than just like, you know. Hey, how are you? Message them back and say, hey, that, that, L.O.
Starting point is 01:18:37 funny message. I like to check out your profile, but it's private. Just leave it right there. Okay. Read me another one. I'll do that. Okay. I don't know which one.
Starting point is 01:18:46 What kind do you want? Wow, so many. There's so many different ones. Were there anything that you, because your concern was that one of these guys could be lunchbox messing with you. Well, there was one asking me to be his sugar baby, so that's the one I thought was lunchbox. But I don't think he would do that trying to trick you.
Starting point is 01:19:02 I think he would try to be Mr. Romance, which we don't know if he even has that. Like, would lunchbox say razzled asshole? No, that person wasn't him. Lunchbox, that wasn't you, right? Not one. There's no chance. You guys said no to catfishing.
Starting point is 01:19:14 Okay, this one is like, L.O.L, you can spill your whole life story with me. You know, because that's what I'm doing. So he's up for it. Another one just said. Oh, that was it? That was it? Yeah, that's all he said.
Starting point is 01:19:26 They're kind of short and sweet, and I just don't really know what to say. This one said, can I pay for your coffee every morning? Every morning. Okay. That made you together every night. Oh. Yeah, you read way into it more than me. I was like, oh, he would send it up here.
Starting point is 01:19:40 What's he going to Venmo you? Money for coffee. This is why I'm so bad. Okay. So this one said, first off, let me apologize because no, I'm not going to be asking you out. I'm on the opposite side of the country. and then he just gave me advice on what I should do. It was nice.
Starting point is 01:19:57 Block. This one said I literally do anything to take you on a date. Can we please get to know each other? I need your beautiful face in my life. FaceTime date this weekend. I like that. Do it. Do it.
Starting point is 01:20:09 Do it. Why not? That's a good one. FaceTime date? Well, that's just a lot. Because like I said, it's private. Yeah. Why are they all on private?
Starting point is 01:20:19 I don't know. That's the thing. Like none of them are not on private. So it's weird to go and flirt with someone and have your profile on private. Because obviously if this person likes your message, they're going to go check you out. I would say majority of people are private, though. But if you're flirting with someone, there's no way for them to see your page unless they request it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:39 And I don't know the majority of people are on private. I feel like they are. Like the majority of people that don't want their life out there for everybody else, like they have a lot of friends and family that follow, but they're not just putting everything out there. I would say that majority of people are not on private. Really? Yeah, because Facebook's not, or Instagram is not something you do for privacy. You may occasionally get on and not want people to see it, and there are some, but I would say majority of people that use Instagram actually want to use Instagram.
Starting point is 01:21:02 Maybe we can get some stats on that. Like, how do we do that? Callers? Morgan, what do you think the majority of people on Instagram are private? No, I mean, some that may be coming to date Abby or just guys in general, yes. For whatever reason, guys don't understand that they need to have. a public profile. It's kind of like a misunderstood thing for them, but
Starting point is 01:21:24 most people know. Like, if guys ever came into my DMs, they were public. Like, they knew what they were doing. But in general, most people on Instagram. They're probably using Instagram to use Instagram. Yeah. Yeah. We just check the stats. Morgan's are...
Starting point is 01:21:38 Oh, well, there you go. I disagree. Matt and Virginia, you're on the show. Matt, wants to talk about Crater of Diamond State Park. Hey, Matt, go ahead. Hey, good morning, everybody. Morning. So I actually have been there twice.
Starting point is 01:21:53 When I was in college, I went to Alabama, and went there, didn't have good luck. But then a couple months before I got married to my wife, I went back again, and I actually found two diamonds, two white diamonds. Wow. So the cool thing about them is that, you know, when you get them, they're raw. So they have to cut them down to like a diamond that you know of, but they ended up being able to cut them down to about half a carrot, and then a little under half a carrot. and I turned him into a necklace and gave it to my wife on the day we got married.
Starting point is 01:22:21 Abby, if you drive lunchbox all the way down there and he finds a diamond, do you expect anything? You know, I was just actually thinking that the other day because I was like, he couldn't even get there. He couldn't even get there without me. Like, he gets to take a nap over there and I'm over there driving and doing everything. So, yeah, I kind of want something. He could probably give you some love advice. I was hoping money, like a percentage. You lost your mind.
Starting point is 01:22:45 How much, Matt, were those diamonds? worth, did you say? It's hard to know because they're not valued the same way as like the rest of the diamonds in the world, but they do have value to them. Like, they're actually pretty valuable. So the higher the carrot, the more you get, but they also have canary diamonds, like the yellow ones and chocolate diamonds, the brown ones there, that you can find. I don't know what any of that means.
Starting point is 01:23:07 Do you know how much yours are kind of worth in that world? At least, they're at least a few thousand dollars. Okay. Not bad. A million bucks you quit the show A million I'm out How much to just be like I'm done for a month Probably
Starting point is 01:23:22 100,000 We try to plant a diamond All right Hey Matt, thank you I googled Instagram 9.8% of accounts are private On Instagram That's far from 50%
Starting point is 01:23:36 That's what it says, yes Wow Morgan, do you see the same thing? Yeah, I stand corrected Yeah 9.8% Less than 10% of accounts on Instagram or private Because why would you even really want an Instagram?
Starting point is 01:23:46 Oh, just because you can still communicate with your family and friends. So I think the ones you're thinking of is a lot of parents are private because they don't have their kids out there. But everybody else that isn't sharing kids, yeah, they're public. Okay. You stand correct. I accept it. That's what I said. I was wrong.
Starting point is 01:24:02 I guess I just know of a lot of mom accounts that are private. Abby, good luck with the dating. Thank you. Good luck on your trip on lunchbox on Monday. Thanks. And I think you should get 5% of his total haul. I like that. I think 5%.
Starting point is 01:24:15 I mean, you can think that, but you're not going to get it. Okay. I mean, that's a good thought. We'll see about that. When they're driving on their road trip, that's when they should line up some face times with some of these guys. Well, she's going to be driving, though. So what's what's going to do?
Starting point is 01:24:30 Hey, Frank. Oh, my God. I'm like driving like, hey. Maybe you do it at rest stops. Oh, there's no stop, man. She's got to drive the whole way. We've got to go. Okay.
Starting point is 01:24:40 Lobby Bones show. Norrie up the day. This story comes to us from. Pennsylvania. There's a baby shower and a man is having a kid. Yay! Except for they were going to transport the gifts. And he was like, no, no, no, you guys are supposed to transport the gifts. You're the guests. Got in an argument with the people at the shower and he shot three of them. Oh. So then what? He gets arrested for attempted murder. But then what happened to them? They're okay. And the gifts? That's what I'm wondering. Like, what happened
Starting point is 01:25:08 with the gifts? Did they get transported? It doesn't say if they were transported or if the baby shower ended, but it just says he was arrested. I bet they're shower ended. Quickly. Wow. Okay. I'm Lushbox. That's your bonehead story of the day.
Starting point is 01:25:23 I'm very excited. This is the first weekend in seven or eight weekends where I'm home and I don't have to do anything, like on a schedule. So mostly I'm excited for Caitlin because I think she gets sometimes a bit fatigued of always traveling with me for work on the weekends. And mostly for our dogs because I think they're like, where'd you guys go? Like they just plan on us leaving for a couple of days. So I think this is going to be a good weekend. Football all weekend? Football?
Starting point is 01:25:46 You know, I'm trying to balance a little bit. That's not going to be good for you. Oh, I watched a lot last weekend. Yeah. And so I'm trying, and then it went into Monday. It was just. That was like a double whammy for her because not only she had to travel with you, but also you were watching sports.
Starting point is 01:26:04 Arkansas plays tomorrow in Dallas. They're playing Texas A&M at Jerry's World. So I'm really hoping for, you know, another great underdog. story. And I hope when I come back in on Mungay, it's going to be great. I can't decide if I want Texas A&M to win because that's where I went to college. Or if I want you to win so that you'll be happy. I have interest in Texas A&M. I have a legacy there.
Starting point is 01:26:29 My sister went there. I did my uncle. Do you own a brick or anything, Amy? Look at me in the eyes. Do you care anything about the football team? No. No. Okay.
Starting point is 01:26:39 Not particularly. I'm the 12th man. Yeah. Put me in. Coach. So you would rather Arkansas win, let's be honest. I mean, for you, yes. Let's do Flashback Friday before we get out of here.
Starting point is 01:26:52 Flashback Friday. 1991. On this day, I was 11 years old. The biggest country song was from Brooks and Dunn brand new man. Which, by the way, neon moon is everywhere right now. And people, there's a dance to it on TikTok. It's recharted again. And I'm lucky enough to be friends with Ronnie Dunn, the lead singer,
Starting point is 01:27:18 and he was talking about it. And he said to me, he credits our wedding when he sang it at our wedding. Oh, wow, I didn't even think about that. It's a cool little remix they did. And I don't think it's our wedding, honestly. But he's like, hey, listen, nobody brought this back until I sang it again at the wedding and all of a sudden video is out, and then somebody remixes it. But everybody's doing the dance.
Starting point is 01:27:37 And it's an easy dance. Even lunchbox could do it. Oh. Oh, I don't know about that. It's easy. You just do your arms. You just go down. Okay, I can do that.
Starting point is 01:27:44 That one's pretty easy. The biggest pop song is Brian Adams. Everything I do, I do it for you. Oh, my gosh. Robin Hood? Yeah. Get out of here. Everything I do.
Starting point is 01:27:56 I do it for you. I called the radio station and requested this for Willow. I'd be like, can I make a dedication? It's from KLAZ. And they were like, yeah, can I request everything I do from Bobby to Willow? And they played it. He's all for that. He's Willow.
Starting point is 01:28:09 No, there was a girl I liked. Oh, is a real girl named Willow? Yeah, Lake Hamilton, 6th grade. Oh, wow. Yeah, she didn't like me back. Did she hear it? But they never did. Where is she now?
Starting point is 01:28:19 No idea. The biggest thing of pop culture, step-by-step debuted, bringing Suzanne Summers and Patrick Duffy back to our TVs. Part of TGF. Oh, because Suzanne Summers was in three's company. Yep. And Patrick Duffy was Bobby Ewing in Dallas. Dallas. That's it.
Starting point is 01:28:37 There you go. That's Flashback Friday. Thank you guys. Have a great weekend. We will see you Monday. Bobby Bohn. Hey guys, it's Chris Jansen. I'll be on the Bobby Bone show Monday morning.
Starting point is 01:28:48 I got my guitar and harmonica ready to perform some of my hits for you. We'll also talk about my new song, buy mom, and a whole lot more.
