There was no anything inside those eyes.
They turned black.
It scared the hell out of me.
Evil, wake up.
I'm the one that saw the murder take place by Crevette and DePippo.
Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse,
appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum.
I said, I'm not guilty.
I'll take it to the grave.

Part one.
Behind the scenes with a member of the show.
What's up, friends, and happy weekend.
It is time for some more Best Bits, and Abby is joining me this week.
Hello, Abby.
Hello.
Thanks for being here.
Yeah.
You got a race.
By the time that this podcast comes out, you will be running in the St. Jude Rock
Roll Marathon. I will. Crazy? Another year? Yeah. It's so fun though. Like, you should do it some
year. That's a no for me. Have you ever been like a long, like the trail or whatever or the course
to cheer people on? No, isn't the course on roads, like main roads? Yeah. Like you'd have to go downtown.
And plus they close every road down. So getting there, good luck. Because they shut them down at like 545.
We had, last year, I was trying to catch a friend in it. And we tried to go around the city trying to
to catch her and it did not happen.
You couldn't find her.
Yeah, it was horrible.
We found one of them.
There was two that we're trying to find.
We found one of them.
And I was just like, what was crazy was you can watch people on the trackers with marathons or half marathons.
You can watch them.
But the tracker is either delayed or ahead of time.
And you don't know which.
It is.
Oh, see, that's a bummer.
Oh, I didn't know that.
Is it like their bib?
You put the bib number in there and then it tells you.
I think so.
Yeah.
Like you put their name in and it'll pop up.
But then what's funny about it, though, is I suggest to people if you're going to watch somebody just go pick a spot before the race starts so then you can see them.
Otherwise, if you're like us and go at a different point in trying to catch them at a certain place, it won't happen.
Oh, yeah.
No, it won't.
Like the start line is fun because you go like, you're at Broadway and then you'll block over, you come back up that way.
So like there's two ways that you can potentially see them.
And this marathon, I know each marathon and half marathon has their own themes, but this one, they have live music along the way.
Yes.
That's fun.
Yeah, it's just like a live band.
I think every mile, every other mile, but it is so cool.
And then there's like the seven mile party, there's this one neighborhood we go through.
It's just a street.
But all of the houses, they like get together and they hire.
I think they hire their own band there.
It's crazy.
So is it like a block party on that street?
Basically, yeah, yeah.
That's funny.
And I always look forward to that.
And then all the people are out of their houses.
They have like beer and mimosa's.
Like it's just a thing for them.
It's like a tradition.
I guess if you lived on a street where that's happening,
you either embrace it or you're out of town that weekend.
Yeah.
Because there's no in between.
Right.
Yeah, yeah.
If you're in your house and it's happening,
there's so much commotion going on that how is your normal life just continuing?
I know.
It's fun.
I mean, it's once a year.
It's fun to like to see it.
And like to hear people on. I don't know. It's cool. People have signs.
Is your fiancé running this year with you?
He is, yes. And he has been very serious to get a good time.
Four, but you are both doing the half marathon.
Uh-huh. Yeah, yeah. And last year, we stayed together. And like, okay, so last year,
I kind of had to stop a little bit a few times to stretch and he stopped with me. And that messed him up.
And then I ended up beating him at the end. Oh. And he's like, I waited with you the whole time and then I just left him in the dust the last like mile.
because I took one of those gel things that gives you energy.
Yeah.
Like I don't usually do that.
But this time I was like, oh my gosh, I'm going to just try it out.
And it does.
Like I just start sprinting.
And he was like, you left me.
And so this time I was like, okay, you can leave me.
So he's not stopping with you when you're stopping.
No.
He's like, I'm going to stay with you like three miles and then I'm going to go.
I'm like, that's fine.
Because I just, I haven't been feeling it as much this year.
When you guys have been practicing is the three mile where you guys start to differ?
Is that why that might be the cutoff point for you guys?
or is there something else that he knows that you don't?
I don't know why he said three miles.
I don't know why that's in his head.
Maybe he just,
that's,
because like the,
staying together at the beginning is kind of fun
and it's like all uphill.
It's pretty hard.
It's all like up,
music row and around.
And then that's probably when like the adrenaline
kind of starts wearing off
and when I probably am going to want to start stretching.
So I don't know why he picked three miles.
But, yeah, it'll still be fun.
I hope.
But it was kind of entertaining last time
because I just had somebody.
I usually run alone.
Yeah.
So will you guys have a plan to meet up at the end?
Yeah, probably.
Hopefully I won't be that much behind him, though.
You're hoping you're staying up with him.
But I feel like it's going to be like three miles.
Oh, got to go.
And it's like a boost button and he just takes off.
Because he has all of those gels all the time.
My stomach, I can't do that.
Oh, so he does those often.
You did them one time.
I did it one time.
Yes, like the 10 miles.
Because I was like if it causes,
I always have like issues with stomach cramps.
Stomachamps while running.
Yes, like you know those side stitches is what they're called or whatever.
Yeah, I know those.
I get those in like five minutes of running.
Yeah, that will like make or break a race for me.
It's so bad.
Do guys get side stitches?
I don't know.
He never does.
I wonder if that's a female thing.
Is it?
Let me Google that because I've never heard of any guys getting it either, but I could be,
I could be totally wrong on that.
do guy I feel like it's side stitches while running.
It's going to be like, what side stitches?
It's just like a cramp.
Yeah, they do.
They do.
It's like all runners.
It impacts 70% of runners annually.
So, yes.
Well, I'm one of the 70.
Often caused by cramps, weak core muscles, improper breathing, or eating too soon before running.
You know what mine comes from.
I know for a fact.
Well, a little bit of weak core for sure.
But also improper breathing.
I, every time breathing has been part of something, even in yoga, I'm really good at yoga.
I do not breathe the way that you're supposed to breathe in yoga.
And I know I'm not breathing the right way when I'm running.
I don't know how you breathe in yoga.
I never do yoga.
It's supposed to be like a really calm breathing, like you deep breath in, deep breath out.
And you're supposed to do your breath with movement.
I oftentimes forget to breathe.
I'll be doing something in three minutes like, I'm like, I didn't breathe.
during any of that. Same thing with running. I am not a breather. Probably it. Yeah. That's probably a lot of it. And I
saw that too, because I was looking up like, what causes it? What can you do to avoid it? And it was saying
the same thing. And I'm like, well, I don't know how to breathe any different. I guess I just got to
start slower, deeper breaths. I will say when I'm super out of breath, say I did like an exercise
or if I feel like really intense anxiety coming on. If I do ever like really intentionally slow my
breath down, like a really deep breath in, slow breath out, and I do it repeatedly. I do feel a lot
better. But I have to only be thinking about breathing in that moment. Like myself, like the subconscious
in my brain that's breathing is not doing it right. You know what I mean? Uh-huh. When you get blood taken,
do you do that too? That's when I almost faint. Because, okay, sorry, there's a gnat in here. Have you seen it?
Yeah, there's nats all around our studio lately and I don't know why. There's like, yeah,
they're everywhere. Like the little fruit fly things. I've killed like five. Ray is
killed like five. And there's one in here.
Everywhere. And I don't know what brought them back,
but they are back. Probably just the season.
This is not good. There's one in this little room
and it keeps landing right on my mic.
Then you hear, Abby hit a mic that is why.
Sorry. Anyway, when I get
blood drawn, every time
they're like, okay, are you breathing? I'm like, oh,
that's why. That's why I'm getting lightheaded.
Mm-hmm. That's true. And that's also associated with eating
if you're not eating a kind of hefty
meal beforehand to make
sure your blood work.
blood sugars high or low or whatever it's supposed to be. But you're supposed to fast.
Sometimes. Yeah. Yeah. I always, but usually mine's in the afternoon and I didn't eat before.
And every time they're like, oh my gosh, you look like a ghost. Are you okay? You're like,
no, you just took blood out of my system. I haven't eaten and I didn't breathe. So no, I'm not okay.
That's why I was like creeped out looking at Eddie and lunchbox getting their blood work done.
No, I told them while I was taking videos and pictures while my head was turned the other way. I can't
watch it. That's why Lunchbox was looking at you, because he was looking at you, and he looked
scared. But that was just because I had my headphones on. I couldn't see what he was saying.
Yeah. But his face was bright red. Yeah, he was like making fun of me because I wasn't looking.
I'm terrified of needles. Petrified. I'm a lot better than I used to be as a kid, for sure.
I used to like kick nurses and I would hysterically laugh while also simultaneously crying.
And I'd hold my neck because I have my neck phobia and I associated it all with my neck for some reason.
It was a really weird whenever I had to have needles.
I did not handle it well.
But Morgan as an adult has gotten pretty good about it.
Oh, that's good.
I just have a lot of internal anxiety now instead of outward physical activity.
Yeah.
That's good.
I really internalized needles.
Yeah.
I finally realize once you relax, it's so much better because I would tense up for a shot.
And if you're just like it's going to be over in one second.
I will say shots not as bad as I remembered for sure.
I definitely remember those as a kid as like the horrible thing.
But as an adult, not as bad.
Blood draw, still horrible.
Still horrible.
And I think it's also associated with there was a time when I was in middle school that I got bit by a brown recluse spider.
Made me pass out.
It did.
Yeah.
Horrible.
I had the ring around it.
My arm was starting to get really bruised and it was really bad.
Well, that particular spider bite was in the middle of my arm where the,
they typically draw blood.
Oh, no.
So on one side of my arm, one side of my body, I have this bite that's huge and horrible.
On the other side, they're taking blood from it, and I was a small kid.
And the person who did my blood was horrible.
She missed my vein, like, eight times.
So I just felt completely exposed.
Something about the middle of my arms being exposed makes me feel very vulnerable.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Like having both of them be exposed like that, I just was not comfortable.
And now I associate every blood draw with that moment.
Oh, well, that makes sense.
So that's why.
I've tried to rewrite it a lot.
But the last lady, the last time I had to get blood drawn for like all of my learning more about my health and everything, she was awesome.
She was talking to me about all my favorite rom-com movies and she really helps me out.
Oh, that's really nice.
Nurses make all the difference, man.
They really do.
That helps a lot.
And some people are made to do it for sure.
The one I go to, she never talks.
The dead silent.
Oh, see, that's, no.
And I'm just like, how do I look?
That would feed the anxiety.
Are you afraid of needles, though?
Are you?
Yeah, I don't know what it is.
Yeah, I just don't like the feeling of the tourniquet on there
and it starts to go numb.
Yeah.
And I also don't like getting my blood pressure taken and they squeeze.
That really tight and you can feel your heartbeat in your arm, like all that.
I don't know.
I wanted all of that more than the needle.
Yeah, I kind of wanted to be a nurse or something in that, but I was like, I can't do that.
Did you really?
Yes, I can't do needles and stuff.
That's really what, like, pushed me away for.
from being in health care.
Are you squeamish with blood?
No?
It's just the needle.
For some weird reason.
Which is crazy.
I don't understand what it is.
So you're going to put the needle in and I can't take the needle.
Right.
Okay, so we would be a great pair.
A horrible team.
I walk in your room.
Are you ready for this?
I hope you are because I'm not.
I hope you don't mind you.
I just start crying and then probably kick you.
Can you imagine?
Yeah.
I still think about that a lot.
There was a, when I got my tea, my lore taps, when I got my wisdom teas taken out, they gave me
lore taps for the pain and I had never been on any type of painkillers.
It was like a, I was like a freshman or sophomore in high school.
And I did not do well on the painkillers.
Horrible.
I lost 10 pounds.
It made me really sick.
And I also got the dry sockets all at the same time.
It was all bad.
Oh, that is so bad.
I am what they call a special patient.
every time I go into a new place they're like oh well you're just a little unusual I'm like okay it's
getting kind of old guys yeah thank you stop hearing this but every time I do and this was no different
so I lost like the 10 pounds and that made me have to go to the ER because I was not doing well I lost
a lot of weight really quickly they were really worried about me I was just not I was not okay and
they tried to like give me an IV and that's when I kicked the nurse not intentionally but I was so ill
and I still didn't want the needle.
I was like, I don't care how sick I am.
Don't put that in me.
Really?
Okay, then that means it is bad.
If you're like desperate and you still can't do a needle.
Yep.
Mm-hmm.
And I was not well.
It was crazy.
They still got me out.
Yeah, I don't do well.
I don't do well at dentist when you have to get a cavity filled and they use needles on your teeth.
I cry.
Oh, you do?
Mm-hmm.
I close my eyes.
I put headphones in so I can't hear.
Oh.
I try everything, but I am just all of it.
I am. A touchy.
I touchy.
Oh, it sounds like it.
Okay, shall we change the subject?
I know.
Something less creepy?
Because I am now, that's all I can picture is like the shot in the dentist office.
It's huge and it's just like right there.
Can you not handle that one either?
No.
No, but I do because I've had a lot of cat buddies in my life.
Are you eating a lot of ice cream?
I feel it's genetic.
It has to be.
I've heard that because I'm like, I brush my teeth.
I floss, but my mom has had so many cats.
Well, I will tell you, and a lot of what I've learned, you're just like how you've probably heard this with animals, their dental health is very important because it can make them really ill if it's bad. We're the same way. Our dental health actually is like, if you think about the mouth that's connected to your stomach and the food you're consuming and stuff. So I have noticed it was really crazy. I went into a dentist appointment last summer and I had like three cavities. I was like, what is going on?
I brush my teeth. I floss daily. I do everything you guys are telling me to do what is going on.
And then I went through all of my health changes. I changed my diet. I changed my lifestyle. I did I did
everything that Kara told me to do because that's what I was going with. And Kara is the lady that I
worked with. And I went back to a follow-up like cleaning six months later. I had no cavities.
Really? The same dentist? Same dentist. Wow.
Because I had just told them like, how?
hey, I want to watch them. I'm not in pain because of them.
Unless you're super concerned about him, I just want to hold off for now and see if I can figure
this out. And yeah. They like healed themselves. And I don't know if they're fully healed.
I just know that they're not a concern still. So whatever I did, did help it, you know.
Wow. The body's still kind of a mystery. We don't know everything about it at the end of the day.
So like I said, it could, you know, I could go to my next one. They're like, oh, yeah, we need to fill them now.
And that could be there, but I don't know that there's a whole lot of studies on cavities and if they ever actually truly heal.
But I do know that mouth health has so much to do also with your gut health and all the microbiome that's happening in your body.
Yeah.
My gut is not well.
Oh, yeah.
It's not good.
We need to talk about that.
So we'll be right back.
We're going to get into some gut health.
All right.
Gut health.
What is going on?
I don't know.
It's been like this forever.
Probably like 10 years.
but it's just not getting better.
I just don't ever feel good.
And there's not much I can eat.
Like there's certain things I can eat.
I know there aren't going to bother me.
But other things.
I'm just like there's no way I can.
And it's just frustrating.
Like I can't really have breakfast because I won't start feeling good.
Like you're always having stomach aches?
Yes.
Just do not feel good.
Just, oh.
It's like I eat a little bit of something and it feels like I just had like a Thanksgiving feast.
You know?
Like feeling super bloated?
Yeah, I just, I feel so blah.
Like my stomach just hurts.
Like, it's like a fire inside feeling.
And it's not normal.
No, it's not.
And no one can figure it out.
I had an endoscopy a long time ago.
They checked for like ulcers and stuff.
Found nothing.
They're like, you're good.
They wanted to do another test where you eat and then you take an x-ray every hour for four hours to see.
And I'm like, what's not going to tell me?
Yes, that's what I said?
And I was like, I think I'm okay.
Because what's not going to say?
They're like, oh, you just take longer to digest food.
but I feel like that's not the problem.
No, you need to go see my girl.
I do.
I want to go to like a holistic.
Yeah.
Yeah, there's, it's wild the things you learn just that our body is capable of healing.
Fasting helps a lot of that.
I'd be curious of you did.
I know you did that.
I did that.
Kane Brown fasting at one point.
72 hour.
Yes.
But also fasting while not doing other things.
Like they all kind of work together, right?
Like, you know, I talk about the cavities as one off.
But like, it's.
all connected in everything that I'm doing. So no, did I just change my diet and everything is
magically better? No. I also do saunas and I do fast and I take different supplements that help my
body and I'm paying attention to my, like there's so much that goes into it. But it's also
allowing the body to figure some things out by itself instead of adding more things in, right? Like the more
stuff you're trying to add in, the worse your body gets. Right. Which is part of the problem with,
for a lot of people, a lot of chronic issues come from that because we just kind of keep adding
things in instead of taking things away to try and actually figure out what the problem is.
I know.
So, and chronic issues are, I mean, I can't remember the stat because I remember looking it up
when I was doing stuff with Kara and there's majority of our population, at least everybody
has at least one chronic illness, which is also insane.
I know.
It is.
It's really sad.
It's just frustrating.
You're like, what could it be?
Oh, and it can be anything.
Chronic illness can be anything because it could be like your stomach is acting up because something else in your body is going wrong.
I also learned that.
Just like I learned like the mouth and gut thing like because my gut was, I wasn't well.
Like nothing about me was super normal.
And that's when like I started changing.
I was like, oh, this is what that's supposed to be like.
I know.
Every time I get blood work done or tests, they're like, oh, it's all normal.
And I'm like, no, can you just tell me something different?
something looks off, you know, like, you're not going to like this answer, but you know why?
Why?
Because blood work typical, a typical, just medical, the blood results that they're comparing
your blood work to are against other Americans, which I just told you.
Oh, right.
Yeah.
Most Americans or most people have a chronic illness, right?
So you're comparing your blood work results to other unhealthy people.
not saying that they're like super unhealthy but they're unhealthy in an optimal stance of your blood levels.
So it's going to look normal because you're the average.
But the average doesn't mean you're well.
So you have to look at blood work differently than how it's being looked at at the current moment in time.
Right.
So that's why you've been told that it's all okay while she's hitting her arm because of a nap floating here.
Almost got it.
It's trying to relax.
of her stomach hurts but she's hitting herself because there's flies everywhere.
Yeah.
But we'll figure it out.
I'll get it figured out soon.
But that's why.
I just want to give you like so you're like not frustrated because the same thing happened
to me.
I went to a traditional doctor.
I said I have X, Y, and Z.
Blood work came back totally fine.
And they're like, well, let's look at your sleeping habits.
I was like, listen, I know my sleeping habits aren't the best, but I also get decent
sleep based on the aura reading that I have.
So no, I don't need a sleep test.
that's not going to help the rest of my problems.
They're from chronic illness.
Yes.
Mine has to do with just like the bad bacteria in your stomach
and you're supposed to eat a certain way and then take all the supplements.
And I just didn't get, it's hard for me to keep up with that lifestyle.
I think it's hard for a lot of people to just eat like 100% clean for eight weeks,
10 weeks and then continue to do that while you're taking healing supplements.
Like that's just hard to do.
And I knew I fell off the wagon doing that.
and I need to get back on it, but it's hard to do.
No, it's the hardest thing to do.
And it's expensive.
Like, you know, none of that that I went through.
It was one of the hardest transitions that I had to put myself through.
And I had just finally had enough where I was just sick of being sick and I just had to do it.
It was like, okay, fine.
If you don't want to be disciplined enough to do this, then you're going to feel this way for the rest of your life.
And I just ultimately made the decision where I was like, that's not an option.
And my life changed because of it in a lot of ways.
Like my social calendar was not part of it.
I wasn't seeing people as much as I normally would.
I had to back off other things to take care of that.
You know what I mean?
I know.
So it doesn't mean it's easy.
Yeah.
And it's hard.
That's a hard choice to make.
But I will say once you come out the other side, you find a balance.
And your body can take that balance because you've kind of reset it.
But if you never start and then you just try and have balance,
It doesn't work that way.
It never fully healed so you can't have balance.
Like a lot of what I kept telling myself was you have to have restriction now for balance later.
Mm-hmm.
Right?
Like I had to be 100% restrictive.
So now that I can have a moment where I want to go out to eat and have something that's not totally on par with what I'm supposed to be doing.
You know what I mean?
Yeah. Oh, I did it for six weeks.
But that was that was hard because it was like pumpkin spice season came up and it ruined it all.
You love a pumpkin spice.
Ruined it.
I did.
Did you feel better in those six weeks?
I felt better than I ever had.
Yes.
And that was part of the reason I got off my anti-anxiety meds.
I was like, I'm not anxious because I was having, you know, white claw.
Love my white claw too.
I was having white claw and then I would feel like kind of that anxiety in the morning, you know.
And then, but then I would be tired so I'd need my coffee.
And it was just like a constant state of like being jittery because then I'm like, oh my gosh, I feel too wired.
Let me have a white claw.
And it was just a really unhealthy, like, back and forth cycle.
And so when I eliminated coffee and, like, sugar and alcohol for those six weeks, it was the best I ever felt.
Mm-hmm.
But then I was like, oh, my gosh, the season just came out.
Like, it's fall.
And then, like, Halloween, the kids, like, trick-or-treating, just all that.
Like, it's hard for me to give that up, and I know I should have.
And I was going to start it back up at the beginning of the year.
I just, there's never a good time, but you have to just do it.
There isn't.
And it's hard, right?
Like, I'm the first to tell you it is the hardest thing you'll do.
And again, that's not just because of you and, you know, not having determination to do it.
You can have all the determination in the world.
But the world does not make it easy to be healthy.
The world doesn't make it accessible to be healthy.
It doesn't make it more cost effective to be healthy.
Like, I hate to say that, even if you're buying all fruits and vegetables and meat, it's still expensive.
That's just the world that we live in.
So, like, there isn't really the, an easy way to do it.
And I wish there was.
There should be to make people not feel sick.
I know.
Yeah.
Especially as you get older, you know?
Mm-hmm.
You can get a burger for $2, but a salad's going to be like 10.
It's like a fast food place.
They don't even have them anymore.
Yeah.
Some of the places I'd get a salad, they're gone off the menu.
Now it's...
Well, and the salads that they would be providing are also not nutrient.
dense, right? Like the things that they were offering as healthy weren't necessarily healthy,
even if they looked that way. Right. Sure. Are they better than like car? Maybe, but like a burger
versus a salad without protein, no. You're getting that protein with the burger. Yeah. I know. It's such a
hard battle. So I get it. Yeah. And it sucks. It sucks. You all face a moment. I think everybody
faces it where it's like, okay, is this worth how?
I feel anymore. I know.
Yeah.
And ultimately, you'll make that decision.
What's best for you?
I mean, that's what's been affecting my running this whole time.
When I'm running, I have that feeling.
Like, it's just like this, oh, not good.
Just don't feel good.
You're not going to like this side either.
Something that I had to unlearn was that working out as intense as I was,
was making it worse.
Really?
Mm-hmm.
I haven't worked out.
And I'm supposed to be getting back into a,
Easy weightlifting, a little bit more intense exercise, stuff like that.
But I had the vertigo spell and it kind of threw me off.
But I haven't worked out really since I started my cleanse.
Oh, gosh.
Because of all of it.
Because my body was more stressed out working out than it was helping it.
It was?
It's supposed to de-stress you.
It helps my mental health.
I needed it for mental health.
And I still do, which is why it will be incorporated.
but just like I had to restrict your own things with diet,
I had to stop doing it for a while to allow my body a chance to recover.
I never was.
Even, you know, I'd work out five or six days a week.
I was like, well, Sunday's my recovery day.
That's not how that works.
Yeah.
You know?
It's just like I had to retrain my brain on so many levels.
It is a lot.
It's a lot of educating yourself because that's just you don't know.
If you don't know and if it's not something affecting you.
Yep.
Until you're like, oh, I really need to get this under control.
Girl.
Mm-hmm.
So I hope you find answers.
Me too.
Thank you.
Mm-hmm.
That sucks feeling that way.
I know.
But definitely maybe take at least break from running after your half marathon.
Yeah.
I do need to.
Do some rest and just walk.
You love walking.
I do.
Love walking.
Yeah.
Which is mostly what I've been doing if I'm not running.
I've been running like once a week not as much as I should.
Okay.
It's okay.
It's going to go great.
You're going to do it and it'll still be awesome.
Yeah.
But for sure, your body might have a lot.
a wake-up call for you and just be like, we're done for a little bit.
And it doesn't mean you can't come back from it.
Like, you can still start running again at some point.
It's just our bodies take more than we give them credit for, you know.
Like, they really go through it.
And we just are like, keep doing it.
You'll be fine.
I know.
Sleep five hours.
Don't get enough nutrient dense food.
And also we're going to work all day, sitting a chair all the time.
Right.
That is good for you.
It's not.
And I have to give up my car.
coffee. I love it. You don't have to give up coffee. But there's like milk and sugar. They say you're
like supposed to do that. I've been having almond milk, but. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, there's definitely,
again, being restrictive for a period of time to then have balance later is the goal.
The goal is to still live your life. But in order to live your life, you have to be feeling good.
Right. If you're feeling miserable all the time, you're not going to want to do anything anyway.
I know. Okay, we got this.
You do. You do. And you're holding your stomach as we speak. I'm really worried about you. Yeah. I am too. Oh my gosh. Did you see that? I did. On my mouth. Okay. That is disgusting. That is so gross. Why is it around me? Even the fruit flies are telling you that you need to take care of yourself. They're landing on you for that chance. I know. Yeah. But hopefully at least makes you feel better that like that experience that you're having is not isolated. Yeah. A lot of people are.
We're going to get it under control.
Yeah, you are.
And you're going to kick butt at the marathon.
It'll be great.
Woo-woo.
All right.
We're going to take a quick break.
We'll be right back.
All right.
Well, I got a lot of questions in this.
So I had to ask you here.
Wedding planning.
How is it going?
Is it going?
It's going a little bit.
Still trying to make a few decisions.
There's just been a few, like, personal things in our lives that it's just kind of, we're not in a rush, I guess.
Yeah.
Really plan.
But it's also.
that's taken a lot of my brain space. So hopefully we'll get something figured out soon.
Well, we just heard about your health problems alone and that's enough to take up a lot of space.
Yeah, that's been a lot too. I just don't feel like 100% like myself and that's part of the
reason. Well, and I would not honestly now having had very minimal experience with what I had of
wedding planning, I would say not to start until you are 100% ready for it to take over your life.
Yeah, and that's, I'm not. And I realize,
that. It's just, wow, I'm sure you want to tell me more about it? You're like, please.
No, I want to hear about your wedding dress shopping. Oh, gosh. It was so much fun. Oh, my gosh.
I felt like a princess all weekend. Just like different princesses, snow white, Cinderella,
bell. Like, I just had so many cute moments where I was just like, wow, this is really happening.
I'm getting married. So cool. Now, I don't know that I have.
found the dress.
Really?
After all of that.
Why?
I found so many great options that I love.
I really love them.
And I think some of them could work at the end of the day.
But I have two sides to me that's really hard, right?
Like I have one side of me that's super analytical.
I need a lot of data.
I need to like weigh out all the options that I have.
So I know that I'm making the right choice.
And then I have this other side of me who, if she sees
something that she really loves, she will go full force at it.
And those two things are kind of having to fight with each other right now.
I haven't had that other side come out where like something I put on and I was like so,
so obsessed with.
Nothing else could compare.
Really?
But I had this other side that's like really analyzing and I've had a lot of great options
that I really loved.
I just haven't had like that obsession moment.
So I'm like, okay, am I going to have that moment or am I over analyzing so much of it?
just because of that analytical side of my brain.
I just like to be very thorough in how I do things.
That's how I've been always in my life.
Again, unless something comes up and I'm like, yes, this.
And I feel it in my core.
I feel like a gut response, full-blown.
I feel good about it.
Same thing with like purchases.
I had a bought a really big mirror.
You've been in my house.
That's in my bedroom.
It's pretty.
Really big mirror.
I'm obsessed with it.
It took me four and a half years to finally.
commit to buying it.
Morgan, we're opposite here.
It would take me four and a half minutes.
Like, come on.
Big purchase.
Like small things don't get me, but big purchases, big things I am a lot more
delicate about.
And I, you know, I'm getting married this year.
So like, I don't really have a whole lot of time to be super delicate.
I know.
So that's been also a thing.
But it's like, then I go back on a whole bunch of things of like, well, if it doesn't
work out. It's not the dress. And then if, you know, I leaned, I tried to sleep on it after all of them
and see which one like came to mind. And still several of them were coming to mind. So I was like,
then I'm kind of back to now square one where I'm like, maybe I just really love elements of each one.
And can I find a dress that have all of them together? And I don't know if that's even possible,
honestly. So how many did you try on, do you think? Oh, I probably tried on like 50. Oh, wow. Okay. And so
when you're in the process of like thinking,
thinking back, do you have the pictures on your phone and you're like looking through it which one you like best or like which you felt best in?
Both.
Like I haven't been trying on dresses yet.
So I don't know.
Like I was in my head being like, oh, it'll be easy.
Like you'll just find the one because that's what I hear.
Some people are like, I found mine on the fourth dress.
I'm like, wow.
Whoa.
Yeah.
And some people do.
I think it matters if you go.
I went in completely having no idea what I wanted.
And I think that was really hard because I was, I do now have a.
really solid idea of what I want.
I just don't know that it exists.
So are there two like different styles?
Like you don't have one where you're like, oh, I want this.
I don't even know really the names of the different style, like a strapless or a.
Yeah, no, they all are.
And you start to learn all of them very quickly.
Like there you have ball gowns.
You have A line.
You have mermaid.
You have fit and flare.
You have.
And then the different top cuts.
Are they a halter?
Are they a strap?
Are they not a strap?
Are they total like, and you learn it very quickly.
because they are all kind of using the same language.
But it's hard.
Like I loved a lot of them on me and I felt really good in a lot of them.
But I just wasn't like there wasn't one that was like standing out above the rest,
which is what's making it really hard.
Yeah.
So I'm going to go try on my top contenders again to see how I feel.
Because I also was like my sister was debating with me if I was having recency bias.
Because like each time we leave a store I would kind of have a new favorite.
And she's like, okay, is it actually a new favorite or is it just because that just happened?
Yeah.
And I'm also somebody who loves dresses.
I love getting dressed up.
So it's not hard for me to like love a dress.
But I've never been in this position before to like love one dress.
I know.
The dress.
That would be hard.
It would.
I feel like I wouldn't give myself.
I'd like pick one store.
Just be like, no, try to pick it from here.
Yeah.
If I give myself too many options, that's when I have a problem like that.
And then I'll be like, oh my gosh, I don't know.
So I need people to be like, okay, do you want to go here, here, or here?
And not be like, where do you want to go?
Yep.
I need the, you like this one, this one or this one.
And it might help you out better so you don't have too many options, honestly.
I think people are, everybody's different in how they go approach it.
Some people know exactly what they want and they go try on that dress and that's the one that they knew it.
And it was so funny, one of my soon to be sister-in-law, she was like, Morgan, honestly, you look so great in all of them.
It'd be hard for, you know, any of them to actually be a wrong choice.
And I was like, I don't think that actually helps me anymore.
Like, I do love them all.
I think they're pretty.
And like, I'd wear it for a gala or I'd wear it or I'd wear it for a red carpet if it was a different color.
Like, and I'm thinking of all of those things.
And I think that's what makes it harder too.
I know.
Oh, that would.
Yeah.
Like, I have a few styles I think I have in mind.
So that might help narrow it down.
And I'll just be like, hey, can you just bring me five of this style?
Maybe.
I don't know.
I'm really excited to try out dresses, though.
It's so much fun.
Like, and people would be like, if they heard me go to eight different sports, they'd be like, you're insane.
Even the, I would tell the, like, stylists that I'd have multiple appointments.
They're like, are you okay?
I can't.
That's a lot.
I was having the time in my life.
I didn't even know they were eight.
There's so many.
I'm just kidding.
And now I'm going to a ninth one.
You are?
Yeah.
So you're adding in a whole another layer?
But now I know what I want.
That's the difference now.
I know the style I'm looking for.
I know what I feel good in.
I'm seeing if something exists.
And if it doesn't exist, then I have some top contenders that I really love.
But yes, I am adding one more in there.
I loved it, though.
I had so much fun.
That would be fun.
It was just like you get to feel truly like a princess.
You're going to have whoever you want with you, nobody or everybody.
And people are just, like, loving you.
And you get to feel loved in a really loving part of your life.
And it's such a cool experience.
I'm nervous for, like, outside influences because I take what other people say, like,
vary to heart so much that, like, I will ignore myself to be like, oh, they like it.
Okay, I'm going to go with that.
So I feel like that'd be hard.
And especially because you had so many people with you.
You had a lot.
Isn't that a lot of, like,
one person saying, ah, I kind of like the other one better.
And then someone being like, oh, this is the one.
Yeah.
And you know, no, nobody said any of it.
They definitely waited until I responded first.
And then they offered what they thought.
If I was like, okay, tell me what you guys think.
Or they'd be, they, if I even would ask that without having said how I felt,
they're like, we're waiting on you.
Okay.
I like that.
Waiting to see how you feel.
I would rather, yeah.
That will help you because then it is.
But you're right.
I mean, there's a lot of people that give advice to go by yourself,
which is also part of why I'm going by myself now,
just so I can have a full clear head with my favorites
to see if they really are my favorites up against the,
like this new idea that I finally have process of elimination decided what I want.
But it's tough.
There really isn't like a right way to do it.
Yeah, I'm sure.
Someone, oh, my cousin, she gave me a contact in Kansas of,
like she makes custom dresses and I was like that doesn't help me at all because like I don't even
know what I would want to say like I don't even know the customization that would need to happen because
I don't even know. Yep. There's a there's one of the places that I went and the woman there designs all
of them and they were so awesome. It was where I also did the music video with my my friend Julia
Cole. So it was really cool to like work with them and they were awesome because they kept
they could figure out the dress that I want, they could create it.
But the problem being, I am such a visual person.
I'm a dreamer, but I'm a visual person.
Like, I need to see some physical form of it to see if it's a good idea.
And unless I have something to connect it to or have similarity to, I can't envision it.
And the last thing I need to do is I create a dress.
I know.
And then it arrives and I'm like, what was I?
thinking. Ooh, I know. No, I'm the same way. Like, I can't do that. So it's an option. It's just like,
I don't, I don't trust myself in that particular. I'm super creative, but I'm not a designer.
Like, designer is not my strong suit. I know what I feel good in and I know what I think I look good
in. That doesn't mean all of those pieces together will look good together.
So how many did you try on at each one? Do they already have them laid out for you? Yeah,
Especially, well, it got easier as the appointments went on.
The first one was the most difficult because I had no idea what I wanted.
I kind of tried on a bunch of things.
After the first appointment, each one I probably tried on like four or five.
Okay.
So, but the first one I was just trying on everything to see.
I don't, I think all dresses are pretty.
Oh, I know.
I would be like, oh, that's why I'm scared because I think I have an idea.
But I don't want to get in there and be like, oh, wait, I didn't even think of this.
That was completely off my list.
Yeah.
It's so hard.
And honestly, that's all of wedding planning now.
That's why, like, don't let anybody pressure you into start doing it until you are ready and you want to do it.
Because as soon as you decide, it is like, take off.
There's no going back either.
You know, like, there was moments where I'm like, do we just like push it to next year?
What do we do?
And I was like, well, we can't because there's already deposits down on things.
So there's no turning back now.
Oh, right.
The deposit.
Oh, that's where it gets you too.
Yeah.
The deposits and that's.
That's commitment.
Uh-huh.
You have to say yes to things.
Kind of like marriage.
It is.
Commitment.
And Braden such a great, like, which I think your fiancee will be too.
He's such a good sport about everything.
He's showing up and participating in everything that he's.
And when we were out looking at dresses, he would like want to know what was happening
in between each.
And I was like, I can't tell you anything.
But like, also, it's really funny.
He's my decider because I love having options.
I'll like if we go out to eat I'll choose three places that sound really good to me and I'm like choose two and we do process of elimination. Yeah. That's kind of how we do that now. No. Yeah. I can't. I literally was like I need you. This is the one time that I need you and I can't use you. Oh my gosh. I know. Yeah. Oh, that would be so weird. I even try. This is funny. I even tried to like go to him. I was like so what do you like picture me in? Like coming to you. We're about to get married. What do you see? He's like I know what you're trying to do. But like I'm. I'm.
not walking down this road.
I was like, dang it.
I needed something.
Yeah, I've done that.
It's like, I don't know, David's bridal, like some at or commercial.
And I'm like, do you like that one?
And he's like, I can't really see you wearing that.
So I've like kind of done that.
You got a few ahead of, you got ahead of the game.
Yeah.
But I'm still going to do what I like to.
I know.
Like, he's good.
They're going to like it.
Oh, yeah.
He literally was like, I can picture you looking beautiful.
and wearing a white dress.
I'm like, you are not helping me.
Exactly.
See, and that's the thing we like overthink these things so much.
And I feel like I'm a little less, it's going to be, you know, I don't know.
But I haven't looked yet.
So I might be the same way where I'm like, oh my gosh, it's just missing something.
Like I want something from that dress.
That and I wish all three of these could combine.
And I can actually see that happening.
Yeah.
And that's very much what I am here.
We'll have a live reaction.
You can't say anything.
I will not.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Yes.
But I'll show you like my kind of top contenders right now.
So you kind of know what I'm working with.
So here's one of them.
Oh my gosh.
I want to cry.
That's so cute.
Yeah.
Oh my gosh.
Love.
So that's when I'm trying to go try back on.
Okay.
Here's another one.
Wow.
Oh, they're very different.
Yeah.
That's a thing different.
See, that's my problem.
Mm-hmm.
You have to talk a little bit louder.
You're just reacting.
I forgot I'm on a mic.
Yeah, you're on a mic.
And then here's the other one.
Oh, shoot.
How do you decide?
Because they're all different.
I know.
They're not the same.
They're not.
That's the problem.
So those are the three that you're...
These are my top contenders.
Yeah.
And you're going to go try them back on.
So I'm going to try the three on that I love and just do it by myself, see how I feel,
see if I get any different experiences away from recency bias, too, of, like, not trying
on a bunch.
and then I have one more place I'm going to go that has, I looked at like their lookbook online that has some potential things that combine all three.
Oh, they're so pretty.
Yeah.
Wow.
They're so pretty.
Yeah.
I don't know how you would decide.
Oh, no.
I'm hyping you up to have the experience.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because, yeah, they're, wow.
So different.
Yes.
But they're all so great.
I don't even know.
I don't even know.
And it really, like, it's hard, like, not to put yourself in a vibe.
Like, what's, what's going to be the vibe of the day?
Should I wear that?
Like, and you can't.
It's supposed to be about you, how you feel in it.
Like, you want to picture everything, do the whole, like, dog and pony show.
And you can't.
It's just supposed to be about you, how you feel, what, what your feelings are in it.
It's tough.
But it's also, like, so much fun.
That would be really fun.
I would take a long time to get in each one.
It does.
I would think.
You learn to.
You learn to move quickly, though.
A lot of people saw me naked over the weekend, a lot of ladies.
They be like, okay, drop it all.
Next one.
I was like, well, good thing I lived in a sorority house.
So this feels normal for me.
My cousin, her dress, was buttons like all the way up the back.
I mean, you're like, the little ones that have no gap in between.
Oh.
I don't think I could do that.
So, and I will tell you that those are kind of for a look for some on some of them.
I don't know if hers was.
Yeah, it was so pretty.
It was kind of like a sheer, like white sheer back.
But it was definitely, yes.
Like it looked so beautiful.
So most of the time.
And one of the things on the designer meant of that, like she did these water set pearls.
And you can take them after the wedding and turn them into jewelry.
Oh.
Which I thought was so cool.
That's so awesome.
Yeah.
It's crazy what the designers come up with.
But most buttons I have learned are really just for looks.
They don't actually hold up the dress.
Okay.
They all have zippers.
Really?
At least the ones that I tried on.
She had to get undo them.
Well, and some of them, to make them look like they're the actual back of the dress, they have a loop that goes over them.
Okay.
But a zipper is actually what's under there, like holding it all up.
Oh.
Because I don't think buttons like that have the same, like, they're not that strong.
You know what I mean?
I don't want to trust them.
Yeah.
And there could be some dresses that have that.
But most of the ones I tried on that had the full button down, they didn't.
So I trust me.
I tried it all in it.
Buttons are very popular.
Really?
And I don't know how I feel about it.
Honestly,
I was looking at the front of the rushes most of the time.
I wasn't paying attention to the back.
Right.
Yeah, yeah.
I know.
Oh.
Crazy.
I know.
It is crazy.
It's a fun time, though.
You are going to have the most fun doing it.
Yeah, I cannot wait.
This and cake tasting has been my favorite.
What has?
Cake tasting and trying out dresses.
What did you just say?
Did I say something else?
I don't know.
Cake tasting.
Cake tasting.
Yeah.
That would be really fun.
Yes.
Like get all the samples.
Yes.
Those who have been the most fun.
Everything else is fun too.
Finding our photographers and videographers.
It's just you're not prepared for the amount of emails you will receive.
Even doing it also, mind you.
If you decide to do it in some way that we are when nobody told me in advance of doing like an allotment and also having a party, you're now planning two different things.
Oh, that is so true.
You're doing RSV.
Well, are you doing RSVP to the wedding team?
Oh, well, yeah, and we know our family's coming,
but, like, we still had to set it up
to make sure they had all the information.
Oh, that's right.
Oh, you are planning.
It's not just like this goes into this.
Same invitation.
Mm-hmm.
Oh.
So you are planning two parties.
You need food for both.
You need different experiences for both.
Now, if you're doing a true elopement,
I don't think that's the same.
But you do still have to plan something.
You'll still have to plan if you want to get your hair and makeup done
and a dress and all of that.
stuff. Like, you'll still have some things. But if you decide to do, like, an intimate elopement
and a party, you are planning two separate things. Yeah, I didn't really think of that.
I kind of like the idea of just one. I thought of that at first, but I kind of like the idea of
just going straight into a reception. I guess that's all I've ever been to. Yeah.
Well, no, one of my friends. It was different, but. Yeah. And you have to, you do exactly what
feels good for you guys. At the end of the day, that's what matters. Mm-hmm. But.
Yeah, that is definitely something to think about.
So yeah, there's all my wedding situation for now, but you will have so much fun.
When the time comes, when you guys are ready, when life feels ready, it will be fun.
Stressful but fun.
Just going to go to Vegas, get Elvis to marry us.
You know, I support that also.
I support anything anybody decides to come up with because all of this is a lot of work regardless, however you decide to do it.
So do it with whatever is going to make you the most happy at the end of the day.
That's right.
Truly.
All right.
We're going to get out of here.
Abby, thanks for being here.
Thank you.
Thanks for hanging out talking about your health problems.
Yeah.
Sorry if that was TMI.
Hope it will feel better soon.
No TMI, but I'm telling you now because we're recording it before, but I hope you're kicking butt in your marathon right now, which feels weird telling you that as you're like sitting here.
But going to get a record time.
Yes, you are.
In no injuries.
your body's going to make it through.
It'll be great.
I'm going to remember this as I'm running.
Yes.
If you need a reminder, just put vestments on the end part at the end of it and just put it on loop.
You're doing great, Abby.
Keep going.
Keep pushing.
Send me this clip.
Yeah, I'll just play it on replay.
All right.

You got to make it through the run for them.
Exactly.

Just only do it if you can.

Everyone sees me as a football player, but before anything else, I'm human.
Every single day, I'm still learning how to live with problems.
mistakes, relationships, emotions ever since I was born.
This isn't a normal podcast.
Everything here is spontaneous, real, and genuine.
Just honest conversations about what it means to be alive.
