Part one. Behind the scenes with a member of the show. Happy weekend, everybody. Abby is joining me this weekend for Part 1. What's up, Abby? What's up? Boy, do we have some fun things to talk about? Because the last time you were on Best Bits, you were a girlfriend.

I was. So this time on Bets. Vespitz, you are a fiancé. That is so crazy. I still am not used to saying it. Like I'll be like, this is my boyfriend. Oh, shoot, wait. Beyonce. Does he like correct you?

Is he really good about saying it? Yeah, he is. Well, but he's also been living with it for a while. For however long he was planning to propose, he's been like in his head already identified with it. So you got to take that same amount of time to catch up to him. I know. It's just such like a fancy word. It's just, I don't know.

Beyonce. Beyonce. Do you keep staring at your finger all the time? Yes, I cannot stop. It's so pretty, especially because I don't even like own a diamond, you know? Yeah. Like it was my first diamond. I don't really wear rings. So I just looked down. I'm like, oh my gosh, you're beautiful. Okay. So we need, I want to hear all about it. First of all, did you have any input? What was like the lead up to the engagement? Okay. So for probably like two months ago, I would say he was like, you want to go look at rings so I have no idea like what you would want. And I'm like, me neither. I've never looked. I've never thought about it. I don't even know what the cuts are. You know, like they're like emerald and. hair shaped and all that. I had no idea what that was. So we went in to look. I was very overwhelmed, you know, and I was like, oh my gosh. They're all pretty. Like, how are you supposed to pick? I'll be happy with any of these. And so I could never narrow it down. And then we went another time and then another time. So we went three times to three different places. And the last experience was like the best that

I was like, oh my gosh, these are like super nice. I love them. But I was down to three different rings. I knew I wanted an oval shaped. Okay. And then not just like a plain band with diamonds around it that would make it look kind of different. But I was down to three choices. And then after that I was like, oh my gosh, you pick. Like I don't know. Started getting overwhelmed.

Yeah. I was just very. And I'm so indecisive. So it's just, oh my gosh, all the options would stress me out. So, and did he have any idea of what he wanted to give you? Or was he just kind of watching and seeing how you were taking everything in? Yeah, he was kind of me. Like he, I'd always be like, do you like this? And he's like, oh, yeah, kind of. Oh, no. And then I was like, oh, wait, this is like mine. You know, sometimes I get so caught up in like,

what are other people's opinions? But I'm like, at the end of the day, like, I'm going to be wearing this. So I guess I need to like, do it myself. I'm used to people helping me decide things. I was like, no, Abby, pick what you like and what like feels right. And it's funny because there was one that we tried on that he really loved. And it was just like all these different ovals, just kind of the same, just smaller sizes. And I didn't really like. that one but he's like oh my gosh I love that and I was like oh my gosh what if that's the one I mean I'd still be fine with it but you know I'm glad he picked the right one well and it's hard to because it's one thing you you both obviously have your own taste but then the ring is supposed to be this identifier of your love so like he buys it with you in mind and also with what you like because

you went and looked at rings for a reason to like have the preferences and stuff so you're kind of tying all things together to find that one ring that adds it all up and is like this is complete. Yes. And I remember it was just I was getting like hot in there. It's just the pressure. It's so bright. And then you have the salesperson like, so what do you think? Do you like this one? I'm like, well, of course I love it. But I don't know if I love it that much. Like, and then you walk around the case and there's just like a whole other section of ones that you can pick. And I'm like, oh man, how are you supposed to know? But luckily you narrowed it down. Well, and it makes me think of that scene. You've seen, You've seen Sweet Home Alabama, right?

That movie at the very beginning when she is getting proposed to and he just takes her into a ring shop at Tiffany's or somewhere in New York. And it just turns on the lights and he's like pick one. Oh, okay. And that's how he proposes. He proposes there, like proposes to her. Right. And then he's like, okay, for the ring, choose one. Just pick one.

Is that crazy? No price limit or anything. Yeah. Wild. That is. So how do you feel about the ring now, though? You say you pick the right one. So he did good.

Yes. Love it. Love it so much. And it is the oval. Uh-huh. And you've got other diamonds on it. So there's seven total, which seven is my lucky number. So that's kind of funny.

But it's oval. And then there's two round, small round ones on each side of the oval. And then an emerald shaped, which is kind of like on its side. And then it points. It's like pointed on each side. Okay. Which I didn't know. No, that's marquee.

Sorry. Not I said. Marquis is an actual diamond shape. So that's, it's the one. one that's an oval but it's pointed right yeah yeah okay see I said emerald like I don't even know what I'm saying still I think emerald cut is when they're a rectangle that right see yeah oh my god I knew I didn't want that so I guess it just never I tried a few on but I was just like it just doesn't look right okay but you found the one you loved yeah I love it did you have any inclination before the day of when

things started to kind of come into place any inclination this was happening coming right around that time. Not real. No, I really didn't. You obviously knew you guys were going to get engaged because you were looking at rings. That was the hope. That was the plan. Yeah, but I thought it would be next year. You did not think it was going to happen this year. No. Because I guess I just didn't think he would do it like during the holidays. I don't know why I thought that. I guess I just thought he was like super busy with things. I don't know. He was super busy with things. One thing in particular. Yeah. And it was really weird because some random times like he'll just be like, let's go out to eat. And then we can maybe go to karaoke after.

Like he just kind of like has a spontaneous something planned. And so I thought this was that too because he was like if you feel like a week ago sing karaoke. So it kind of threw me off that he was just, it was just another random night. Okay. So and it was random. When at what point did you realize it was no longer random? So when we were walking along that sidewalk, because I had first met him on the corner of that

street, we met on a nap. And I remember seeing him there for the first time. And when my mom was in town, I was like, that's where I met him. I saw him for the first time. And it was just kind of like different. Like I remember being like super excited when I saw him. And it just like I felt instantly safe. It's just like a weird thing that usually like first dates, you know, blind date.

You're like, it's either like. What's going to happen? Yeah. But this one, I don't know, I just felt like he was just super like gentle and sweet right when I met him. And so I just kind of always like remember that moment when we walk by there. And so that's where we were walking towards this time. and then you pulled me off to the side. And I thought it was just like, hugging me. And I was like, oh, this is weird. And I like didn't want to let go. Because I was like, wait, what is happening? Like, I don't know what's going on. And then I started like freaking out. And I was like, no, he's not. No. And then that's when like, he was like, so this, we've made so many memories. Like, I want to spend, you know, forever making more. And I was like, oh, shoot. Oh, my gosh. And it's happening. Yeah. And then there's mind going everywhere. Yes. And then like, I don't like being like watched by people. things like that. So she like PDA. I don't know. And so there was like a couple coming towards

us and then a group of girls that were coming towards us. And so he got down on one knee and then they were behind him. And I was like, no, people were watching. But then I like tune that out. And then he asked me. And then that couple was like, oh my gosh, can we get your picture? So before he even put the ring on my hand, they like, we just stood up real quick. And then I was like, I don't know what to do. And then he got back down on the knee just for the picture. And then they took that. And it was really, it was sweet. But it was just a lot going. on. Yeah. And I was shaking. Like, yeah. Did he give you his insight on why he chose that spot, like his thought process behind anything? Yeah, because, so I told him he was like, you know,

if I were to propose to you, like, what do you want? Like, I don't need a whole elaborate thing. I was just like at the beach and thoughtful. But I mean, it's hard to get to the beach. We've already had like our vacations. We're not going to be at the beach probably until later next year. So I guess that wasn't a thing. And so he was like thoughtful. He remembers like when I told my mom that, that I was like, that's where I saw him for the first time. And so he thought, I guess that would be, you know, something special to always remember walking by there in 12 South. It's the moment. It's the place. Yeah. It was super simple. But yeah, it was really cute. He had like roses in his car after. So. And then you guys went out to dinner. Mm-hmm. We went out to eat. Yeah. Same place you had

your first date? Different. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. It was. So the place that we went in to first is not there anymore, but then we went to this place after. Okay. So, yeah. So really like recreating your first date. Basically. Yeah. That's cute. Yeah, it was really fun. And how are the kiddos responding? Are they so excited? Yes, his daughter is really excited. She's a little older, so she understands more. And she was like, oh my gosh, does that mean I have another mom? Like, it was really cute. And then she's excited, like, what to wear at the wedding. And she, like, loved, you know, the ring. Like, she's like, oh my gosh, it's so sparkly. So yeah, it's really cute. Okay. But how are your feelings now? Are you so, I mean, I assume so excited, but like you're going to be a stepmom. You're living this is before there was

a lot of anxiety getting rid of your house. There was all these emotions tied to a lot of that. So like, where are you at now? Yeah. It still is a lot. And it's weird when people are like, oh my gosh, you're going to be a stepmom. And I'm like, wow, that is crazy. But I mean, I've been around them for, you know, almost two years now. And it just, they feel like home. Like, I think it's easier when they're younger, like they are because you're just, you're kind of there, you're their friend, and it's just easy. It's not like you have to worry about a teenager that's like, oh, I don't want this new woman coming in, you know? Yeah. It's kind of like I'm getting to know them as they get older. And I think that, that makes it better. We're still with the house, still have my house. So I, I'm probably going to rent it out,

like I said but it's just been I've had so much happening it's hard for me to get because he's like across Nashville like we are it's completely opposite where he lives and where my current house is so it's like a 45 minute drive so it's just a lot for me to get over there and like just pack boxes by myself like you know I want to spend time with him and in the kids so it's just hard for me to make time to do that but I'm slowly going over and packing boxes of stuff I want to keep you know yeah so after the holidays I'm going to start doing a goal, you know, like go over twice a week, pack two boxes a day so that I can get things going and then you can rent it out and you'll be completely moved in, right? Or are you already completely moved in and you just, it's more stuff that's over there. Right. It's just like stuff. It's like

my couch and my bed and my guest bed and, you know, my desk and just most of, like everything that I need for everyday life is at his house. I just have to figure out where I can store. I'll probably get maybe a storage unit or something where I can store all that until we figure out. what is what's next that's a storage room trap I'm just I'm just I'm just warning you because like it just stays in there it does like my family had one for so many years and I ended up getting broken into and I think we finally got rid of it it was like this is the stuff is just sitting here for what reason right and that is true you do and it becomes more stuff you accumulate more stuff and it was funny because

when my boyfriend had moved in originally I like was so excited but I was also nervous and I didn't know where everything was going to go. And because of my past relationships, I was very cautious. And I was like, put your stuff in a storage unit. That makes me feel better. So at least you're not like giving up your entire life. And let's like see how this goes. And it was like three months in and I'm finally like get rid of your storage unit.

It's fine. We're great. No, that's smart though to do that. It was. It was like a me. And he would have been fine either way. He didn't care. But I just was, it gave me like a little bit of a buffer to like have my head and heart

catch up to each other, if you will. And it was like the last few months we've been getting a lot of his stuff sold and getting things like bought or whatever. And I'm like, we're, because what had happened was the storage unit raised their rate increase. I was like, this is stupid. Yeah. You're not using any of that stuff. You don't want any of it. Like he had already brought over everything he wanted to have and keep. And so I was just like, just get rid of it. It's fine. Yeah. The longer you keep a storage unit, the longer you're going to accumulate more stuff. Oh my gosh. I know. And I get that from my mom. being like, oh, but what if I want this later?

You know, like, oh, I have like a bin of sweatshirts and I'm just like, I'm not wearing them. But what if I want this one's cute? What if I want it later? I just don't want it now, but I might want it later. Exactly. And you know what? In all fairness, to some of my mom's stuff that she has kept, because she's the same way, I have wanted some of her stuff later in life.

More just clothes, vintage clothes and stuff more than anything. Yeah, it's like coming back. Yeah, because clothes do always come back. So I'd say clothes are the one thing not to get rid of, but like random furniture. things like that. If they don't have any sentimental attachment truly, get rid of them. Yeah. Donate them, sell them. Like, Facebook Marketplace is a beautiful thing. You can make a lot of money on there. It is. It's also crazy. But I'm like, don't even get me. It is insane. Like, I've been buying a few things on there recently and trying to sell. And it's just like, have you seen that video where it's like Facebook Marketplace? The lady pulls other, like, what it's like being on Facebook Marketplace, she pulls up. She's like, hey, is this available? And he's like, yeah. And she just drives off. And then, no, that's literally what it's like.

Yeah. Or what time can I pick this up? Three, does that work for you? And I don't even know. It's just like all these scenarios. I'm like, it's so accurate. Oh, it's so accurate. I've had so many hilarious conversations. There was one, I don't know if I shared this one. I shared a few of my Facebook Marketplace's stories on BestBits, but there was one where a guy with an air fright. There's a recent one. Hold on.

Keep sharing your Facebook. I'm going to look up what I said. Well, yeah. They just don't, I don't know, they don't show up. Or like one time I was like, hey, I'm interested. Is this still available? And they said, yes. And I said, when can I come pick it up?

And then I get a thing that says, you know, so on the way to sold this. And I'm just like, wait, I thought we were like on the way to me buying it. And then you sold it. Yeah, I have, I do think that's happened sometimes, not inadvertently. It's like one of those, if you have one of those items that 10 people want and everybody hits you, I'm like, I'm just going to go whoever's like first, first quickest makes it all happen. Yes. And you just kind of have to because otherwise you'll be sitting waiting for everybody all the time. Right. I realize you have to change your, instead of being like, hi, it's still available, be like, hey, I want it. What's your Venmo? I'll send it now and I can come. Like, you have to just be like, boom. And they're like, okay.

Yeah, because if you're one of those who's like going back and forth, you're probably not going to get it. That's just if it is one of those like coveted items for some reason, I've had the random things be coveted. And then other things where I'm like, this is really cool. Why doesn't nobody want it? Yeah. This was my one recently. We're trying to get rid of this. projection so the projection screen drama has been a thing in my house I had to order seven different projection screens like I'd get one and I'd have to return it because it was damage it shut up screen not the projector just a screen which is like 50 bucks on Amazon right but you order it you don't want it to be damaged to be able to use it this is a whole process so I finally ordered it from a different place and I was spent a little bit more money and I was like okay this one will arrive here because I spent some more money on it hopefully it'll arrive not damaged it arrived

It arrived damage. What in the world? It took seven tries to finally get one to arrive. That was it. Mind you, all of them got returned and got our money back and stuff. I'm like, can you guys not? I don't know what the problem was with it. But lucky number seven, we got it.

We put it up. But the one that I had bought from a different place, I emailed them to be like, hey, this was damage. This was the whole thing. And they're like, well, we're going to refund you the money, but you can just keep it. And I'm like, I don't want to keep it. This thing is huge. It's damage.

what am I going to do with it? And so it's like been sitting in the garage ever since. So I finally put it on Facebook Marketplace to be like, I don't know, sell it for 25 bucks. Let's just get rid of this thing. Or heck, even for free. I don't care. I just want it out of the garage. And we put it on Facebook Marketplace and this dude responded and said, hey, I want that.

Let's trade. Let's trade. For what? What do I want from you? Like, what? What was it that he wanted to? just trade. He never responded. He literally just goes, I just want to trade.

Oh my gosh. I'm like, okay, well, what? What do you want to trade? Let's see here. You need a chair? And he just never responded. I mean, you have a chair? What in the world? Actually, I have seen that. Like, they're like, you want to, I've seen like people post it. They're like, I have this table. Anybody want to trade? And I'm like,

which is fair if that's like what you're asking for, right? Like, but for a guy to message when I'm like trying to get rid of it or whatever, he's like, you want to trade? I'm like, no, I don't want more stuff. That's so... But also, what do you want to trade for? Like, cash? Because that's cool.

Yeah, be like, yeah, I'll trade my Venmo. What? That's hilarious. This Marketplace is a wild, wild west. It is something. But you can get some good stuff on there. You can't. When it happens, you got good stuff.

I think of people that are really good on Facebook Marketplace, really good at finding cool things and deals and getting the nice stuff to DIY or whatever. I also think of them as the same people who are really good thrifters and vintage stop people.

Because there's a talent to finding things out of other people's stuff. And I don't have that talent. You don't? No. Like I can find cool things that I like. I just don't think there are things that other people would like. You know what I mean? I go into vintage shops and I like things and I want them.

But I don't have that I that other people will be like, that's really cool. You found out at a vintage place or like somebody's. garbage. Yeah, that's true. Like I was watching this girl online the other day and she was, she goes to get things off of people's side of the road that they put out in front of their house for free, right? I've done this before. I put sand bags out there one time. I had, I had to buy a whole bag of sand to put in as like a heavyweight for my microphone stands. Oh yeah, yeah. But the only sand that was available was a seven pound bag and I didn't need that much sand. So I put it out like in front of my house and I was like if somebody needs to make like

a play pit or something, maybe this is great for that. Somebody took it. Oh, they, okay. I have no idea what it got used for. But this girl goes and takes things from like the front of houses that are out on the curb for free and she flips them and turns them in these really cool things. Okay, that is cool. And that's a talent. Yeah. I want to be that person. Mm-hmm. I am not that person. I got like this console table, you know, like an entryway table made and it was like homemade by this guy and he just like makes them and sells them on there. And I was like, that's pretty genius. That's awesome. Because I was like, oh, it's awesome.

It's homemade. Like, I'll pay a little more. It was kind of expensive. But I was like, he made it himself. That's cool. It was like, it looked really good. He stained it. And then I kept noticing that he kept adding more.

And I was like, oh, that's what he does. He sells these on it. He just keeps making them and selling them. I'm like, he's probably making some good money. I do know there's people who sell things on Facebook marketplace too that are like new. They aren't. Like, it's a marketplace beyond just other people's stuff. Uh-huh.

It's also people selling through a business. Oh. Right. I've seen that too. Yeah. Which must be like what that guy kind of is. Yeah. Like instead of using an Etsy or a, because I think it costs money to host an Etsy platform page. It's like an e-commerce page. Yeah, he's like cash only. So yeah, he's doing it under the marketplace. You don't have to have that or pay, I guess, that overhead. And no taxes. But I guess the difference, you can ship, but I've never like bought something on Facebook marketplace to ship to me. Yeah, me either. Because I always also just sell in town because I don't want to pay.

whatever shipping costs there are. I also am not good at that. If I take something, I don't, I'm not a good judge of how much something's going to cost to ship. There's been times where I'm like, nope, I'm not, I'm good, I'll just keep it. It's a lot more than you think it's going to be too. It always is. A letter sometimes is $6 or something.

I know. I want to make that make sense to me. Right. If you put it in a little bit bigger of a thing, it just keeps adding up money. For what? I know. All the things I'm not good at. What are you not good?

Let's begin. And here's all of our flaws. Anyways, back to the engagement. So how are you feeling? Like right now in this moment, how are you? What's your thoughts? A little, well, I'm just a little overwhelmed because for one thing, like at the Christmas party, we had everybody I talked to.

I'd say I talked to like 20 people, everybody that was there. And they're like, you have a date set? Literally everybody. And I'm like, oh my gosh, no, I haven't even thought about it. I just, I'm not one of those people. I feel like there's two types of people that you've been thinking about it, like your whole life since you were a kid. Fair.

One of my roommates did that. She had like a binder in, in, or a Pinterest board, more digital version. Uh-huh. And I've never thought about it in my life. I don't know why. I just, I haven't. I was like, I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I'm just, yeah.

So you have nothing that, like, has been on your heart to have due for your, for a wedding one day ever? Not really. I kind of thought like a beach wedding. I love the beach. You're a big beach girl. Just bury me on the beach. Why don't I live on the beach? each. I talk about it all the time. That's what I'm thinking about. You're literally in a landlock state.

I know. I don't understand it. But it's fun to visit. So, so I've thought about that. And it's just like, a lot of back and forth. I'm like, because that'd be a smaller wedding. And then are people mad that they didn't get invited? Because it's smaller. There's just so much to think about. And it's overwhelming right now, too, because you're, I think we need to give people at least six months after getting engaged. To just enjoy being engaged. Right. Yeah, I'm not in a rush. And if they want to plan on wedding immediately, that's everybody's prerogative. And if they want to talk about that, that's everybody's prerogative. But why is it like we, you know, I even think inherently it's part of us where it's like somebody gets engaged like, when's the wedding? Or somebody is about to have a baby or

they just had a baby. When's the next one? Right. It's like always this rush to the next thing. I don't need to rush. We don't. You can enjoy the engagement for five years. I have a friend who's been engaged, I think, too now. And they're, she's like, don't ask me about it. I don't want to talk about it. When we get married, you'll know. And I love that. I love that for them because it's them. So I don't think you should feel any pressure to do anything at any point in time. Yeah. Or have anything picked out. And if you did, that's also cool. But you don't and that's fine. Yeah. Just I had to make it past the holidays. I think that's what it is. I'm like, I still have presents to wrap and shopping to do. I have not thought at all about it. But are you, is the pressure on now to get him a really cool Christmas gift?

because he got you a ring. I went a little overboard. Yeah, this year. Did you? Yeah. Jick says he's so easy to shop for, which is amazing. Usually guys,

because he doesn't buy anything for himself. You know, he's just like always getting stuff for his kids or me. And I'm like, oh my gosh, it's great. I have all these things. And I told him and he's like,

oh my gosh, are you serious? I don't have anything for you. I'm like, well, you're kind of good. I mean, maybe something small, but I think you're good. I feel like I have a lot of catching up to do. And I, listen, if you can engage around the holidays,

that's a gift. It is, yeah. I'm sorry. Have you guys seen the... What? You want to give me some french fries from McDonald's? That's fine. Have you seen the price of any version of rings?

Like, any type of jewelry is expensive. It is. And I cannot imagine a real diamond engagement ring. So I feel like that's the gift. It is. Yeah. I'm like, I'm good. I don't need anything.

So yeah, but it was, I do feel like I'm like, I just keep getting stuff because it's justified. You're like, I can do it. this year. But then you're going to be held in that for more years. Seriously. I was like, do not, don't like, but his birthday is also like two weeks after Christmas. Okay. So do you have him split? I'm right now, I'm deciding what should go for what. Okay. I want to whatever he can use the longest, it would make more sense like around Christmas. I'll, you know, put that for Christmas. So that's what I'm deciding. So basically, this is your favorite thing ever because you love shopping. I love it. Yeah. But I've done all my shopping this year on online. I took advantage of like, like,

Black Friday and Cyber Monday. So I'm proud of you. I am too. He's changed you. Yeah. Yeah. And when it comes to like finances and stuff, because you used to be a shopping in person all the time. Uh-huh. You would just go on a random Tuesday and go to the mall. Yes. And just wander. And that does nothing. This year I tried to be more intentional to be like, okay, this is what I want to get. I'm going to look for it. You are, your fiancee is a financial advisor. And it shows. Yeah. It's funny because we went to Target to shop for what he wanted. And I'm like, you're not going to have any, you can't just wander and he got everything done in that one trip because he sets his mind to something and he's like, okay, I want this. He had like on his notes app, he had for each kid, what do you, like how many gifts? I'm just like, you're so organized. I just go in, I'm like wandering like a lost

soul. Well, and sometimes it's hard. If you have something that's hard to shop for and you just don't even know where to start, wandering does help because you're looking and seeing if you get any inspiration or ideas. Yes. So there's that. But you wandered like every day. Yeah. And then I'd see things for me. I know what I want. I love this. Okay. I love this. And mentally, where's your head at? How are you feeling? I'm good. Yeah. I mean, I'm excited. It is really exciting. Like, a lot has changed in two years, obviously. And even since, like, you and I used to talk, I remember, like, two years ago. We're like, when are we? Like, what's happening? It is wild. I would love to pull one day our best bits from two years ago. Yeah. And just hear the conversations you and I,

were having, whether we were going through breakups, whether we were, you know, dating and trying to figure it out. And there were a lot of episodes for you and I where it was just like, this is never going to happen, you know? We were trying to keep the hope and trying to believe in it, but there just wasn't. And now you have a ring on your finger and you're engaged and life is going crazy. Yeah. And does this change Christmas plans this year now that you're engaged? Are you just like still going free ball, whatever? So I know in the future, obviously, things are going to change because he will always need to be here with his kids. It's every other year, but he has them this year. And so his mom and brother are coming into town. And I'm still going

home because this might be the last year that I go home like Christmas Day. I don't know if we start our own traditions and everything. So I was like, okay, I'm really, I'm going to go home this year. I'm going for like a week or so. Just because I love my family. And it's hard for my mom to kind of break tradition, you know, like, I need to try to persuade her to start, like, coming here, like my mom and stepdad, be like, come here for Christmas, because she's always like, you need to come here, you know, and I'm like, but that's not really how it works. Like, they're the kids now. I'm not the kid anymore. Yeah. So they're the kids and Santa comes for them. So we'll see. That's all in the air, but he's been very, like, he's understanding

that I want to see my family. And he'll have fun with his family in here. I wish, I could be here. You know, I wish it was easier to travel. Like, if it was just like a three-hour drive, oh, would not be amazing. Yeah. It's hard to get home to Wichita. And the flights are getting worse. It is. It's getting harder and harder. And the road trip itself is every bit of 11 hours. Yeah. So I get it. I could do. I just get nervous of the weather that it's like, what if it blizzarding halfway through and I'm stranded. Yeah. You have to plan for like, okay, I might leave this day, but I could leave that day in case weather changes, or I might have to leave early in case incoming weather. I've done that a lot with having to road trip. Really? Yeah. Yeah, you drive all the

time. I never drive. I drove one during COVID. I always fly. But it's because I have Remy and Hazel and they come with me. I don't, I don't not want to have them for the holidays. So it's like a necessity. And we're like a little zoo traveling down the road. But I get it. And it's hard. It's hard to balance two families no matter what and you know bringing and breaking different traditions to make new ones it's tough it's not an easy thing to do it is yeah because my dad and stepmom live like an hour and a half from wichita so it's also finding the time to see them because they you know she has her kids and family too so it's always a lot the logistics and then his family is all over the place and but i mean Nashville would definitely be like the base you know the home base yeah and it would always be

easier to just have everybody together. Like anybody who wants to come, we're doing Christmas right here. I know. Anybody's welcome. Yeah. Right? And that's the cool idea. Yeah, we were dealing with it this year.

I'm thankful his mom ended up coming down to spend the week with us this previous week. So we've been hanging out with her up until she's here literally until we drive to Kansas. So it worked out that way. But I had so much concern because it was like this side of me that, okay, I want to be with my family. and we have all these different traditions and we do these things and like I'm trying to let go of things while also still holding on to stuff. And he wants to see and be with his family and their traditions. And it was like just such a balancing act of making both of us happy and trying to make everybody else happy at the same time. Yeah, it's really hard.

And when you have kids a part of that mixture as a whole different layer. I know. You know? Well, I love this for you. And I'm excited for this season. of so much love and whatever comes and whatever you guys plan to do for your wedding and all of that. I'm excited for you. I hope you get your beach wedding, though. I know. I think that's the hard thing is there's just like on social media and everything. It's like people are trying to have the biggest and best wedding and try to, I don't know. I'm like, what if you want to be different? You should be different. Yeah. I, you know what's funny is everything that I thought I wanted for a wedding and all kinds of things. Like I had Pinterest boards and stuff.

but I look at my life now and that is not the same person who wanted those things. Wow. I want a small, intimate wedding on a mountain somewhere, like genuinely. That's what I want. That's so cute. Yeah. And I don't care about decorations.

I don't want to spend a bunch of money on things that I don't need. I'm so simplistic and I just want it to be intimate and pretty and full of love. And maybe some Christmas lights because I love lights. I know. No matter the time of year. Yeah. That's what I was thinking. I was like, this is.

but there's just so much happening this time of year. You know, it's like just a lot. So it's hard to know. There's a lot of days in the year, but we'll get there. And it was like, no, no. And it was just funny because he's like, ha, ha. And he like got out. Like you would have thought that like you, you won the lottery or something. I know. How much he freaked out. He like got up to look at my hand. Because I had it like under my jacket. Yep. That was hilarious. You were hiding it. You were good, good inconspicuous spy. It was good. All right. Some random thoughts. I have become that person. We thought I was a crazy Christmas elf before. Because of my four Christmas trees apparently. But now I have escalated my Christmas. elfin. And I think you know what it is because you saw it the other day. The tire. Okay. So I saw that a

couple days ago. And I was like, oh, that's not hers. Like, it's, that's so cute. And then you drove by and waved at me. And I was like, oh my gosh. It's adorable. Yeah. So I decorated the Bronco on the tire, the spare tire on the back of my Bronco in a Christmas wreath. And then lights, right? Yeah. Yeah. There's lights on it too and a little big red bow in the middle. I love when people do that to their cars. Do you guys? I feel like everybody should have to know. I've seen some that are like they like wrap their entire car. Yeah. I thought about about the other day.

I was like, I feel like that would damage the car. So I'm not trying to like damage my car. Just trying to bring a little joy. No, it's so cute. I'm surprised you didn't do it before. I know. I'm shocked too.

I think I've had this idea a few years even when I had my Jeep because they also have it. But I just, I never wanted to put in the work. But what actually spearheaded it was I was in Michaels the other day getting cooking supplies. Yeah. And they had 50% off all Christmas stuff. And I saw all these garlands. That's it.

I was like, okay, y'all, I'll do it this year. And it just turned into a whole thing because I needed a whole lot more garland than I really anticipated. Really? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. That's a big tire. I bought like seven strands, okay, of probably seven to nine foot garland thinking that's plenty. Yeah.

I started working on it and I had like three little spots of garland. I was like, dang, I'm going to need a lot of feet of this garland. So I had to go to two other Michael stores to track down some more because I bought it out from everywhere. That's hilarious. It looks so good. Thank you. It's really cute. It gets me in the festive mood when I see people driving.

See, that makes me happy. That's all I wanted was to just make people smile. And I also made the joke is like, hopefully I can make people smile if I cut them off on accident. Yeah. Oh, see, that would do for me. But, you know, would that make you smile if you actually got. It would. I wouldn't flip you off.

I'd be like, oh, you're good. I'm just kidding. I never do that. I never do that. But sometimes I honk. And I'd be like, oh, you're okay. You're in the festive spirit. It's fine.

You're not a grinch. I try really hard not to cut people off, but you know, I'm not a perfect person. In case it happens. In case it happens, hopefully it makes somebody smile. Yeah. That's my running joke. No, I love it. I want to do that.

I don't have a spare tire, but I should come up with some creative way. You could do the reindeer ears. I was just going to say that. I love when people do that. Like out their windows, the reindeer antlers. That's what people are doing with the Broncos with the wreath tire. And my dad even commenting on my video identity. He's like, where's the reindeer ears?

I'm like, dude. Come on. And apparently I need to. I don't even know where you find those. Maybe Amazon. And then you can put like a red ball in the front. Like it's Rudolph. Like I had, then I would have ears, a nose, and a blinged out tail.

That'd be really cute. And you put eye stickers on the windshield? Oh my gosh. Then we're taking so, we're going it so far. And then I am that person. Right now I'm just like half that person. Yeah. But I am.

I'm a little Christmas elf. Thank you for liking it. Yeah. I was really excited. I texted you right away. You did. You're like, I love that. More than lunchbox.

You saw me. I was like, you're so weird. What? He's just jealous. He is. He drove in behind me. He's like, that's weird, Morgan. I'm like, come on, man. You know he loved it. He secretly loved it deep down. He secretly thinks so, too. Okay, I also saw this video on TikTok. Do you have a jacket, a winter jacket that has fur on the hood? Yes. Where it's like outside of the, not like the whole thing, but you know what I'm talking about? The rim of your face is fur. I do. Okay, so this video, that fur jacket, we've all been wearing it wrong. Right? Mm-hmm. So, if you have a jacket,

ladies, guys, you might. I don't know if they make these for men. If you have this jacket, you're supposed to zip it all the way up just like you would to wear it out in the cold. And you put that on your head. Well, the fur flips inward. Oh, so you're not supposed to see it? You're not supposed to see the fur. The fur is supposed to align directly up with your face and blocks the cold.

Otherwise, if you leave it up, your ears, your neck, everything's exposed, your face. So that's why those jackets did nothing to anybody. I thought it was just like stylish and cute to have like this fur. I mean, it is stylish and cute, but the jacket's actually supposed to be practical. And the jacket, literally, if you take it and roll it onward, to like go by your face, you'll even see that we did this with my boyfriend's mom's jacket. You'll see that the coat was specifically made to be exposed that way. Oh my gosh, you've got to be kidding.

Yeah. It makes sense. But what? Oh, that's great. I need to do a video like reenacting that. and like and showing it because wild like I had no idea this is a thing been doing it all wrong my entire life sorry that reminded me real quick of something I saw online and it was like people have been putting their front doors on wrong the window part is supposed to be down below so that your

pets can look out the window I'm like it's so dumb is it actually true like the joke is that we've been putting it on wrong I think that was a joke it was like probably but I kind of fell for it one second and then I was like no but you could see you know how like some people's front doors have like a yeah a vertical the windows horizontal window well they flipped it upside down and then you can see their dogs looking out the window but that's so cute for the dogs but the comments were funny because some people actually did believe it and then some people didn't it's funny I'm like hey not a bad idea of your dog wants to look at or doormakers out there to start making it so there can be a window on the bottom yeah because they can only look out if you have like a glass or a screen door yep

Exactly. Can you imagine I'll be so cute. Right? Like specifically dog doors. I'd buy one of those. My door has like quite a big window piece on it. But I have a blind that comes down in the house to like for protection, security, whatever.

And Remy's really good at like if there's a delivery driver that shows up, she'll run to that door, put her paws up. She's the perfect height. She puts her paws and like hits the blind so it goes up. And then you just see her little. nose in her eyes sticking out the window looking at it. So she knows how to release that. She does. I don't think she does it on purpose. But it just does. But she gets it every time. She's the perfect height. Hilarious. Yeah. So she has her window. Yeah, she does. And you can even see on like the back of my door. There's all these scratch marks from her like falling down from like getting up on it.

And her nose. Yeah. Yep. And the little nose marks. That's like how it is on my car. I always get so sad to clean my car because her little nose prints are in the window where her car seat is. And she like sits there and it's just like stamped into the window. That's so cute. I know. I know. I love it. Okay.

And one more thing I have for us. Okay. I'm curious if you've noticed this about how I talk. And I'm curious if you have it when you talk. My sister's a speech language pathologist. So she loves to make fun of me when I talk. And I, because I say things wrong all the time. and I do things wrong a lot. But apparently I have crispy R's. And so, no, you, I think you do.

Yeah. I don't even know what that means, but you do. Like the. So sometimes, not always, because especially since she's pointed out to me, I try really hard not to. But like when I say Christmas, sometimes it'll be, I don't actually say it that way, but like I'll say Christmas. And sometimes, if I'm talking really fast, it'll come out Christmas, like a, yes. Like I'm, I'm not fully saying it. It's called the Krispy R. I love that. Some of my friends have that. And I'm like, that's so cool. I don't have it. I love it. I'm trying to train it out of my brain. I just did it there and I didn't even mean to with train.

And I like, if I talk too fast, it just rolls off my time. Oh my gosh. My friend Casey does that. Really? She's done it since I've known her. That's really funny. Yeah. But I've always like, that is so cool.

I wish I did that. It might also be why I can do like that. Like I can roll really easy with things because not everybody can do that, I didn't know that. But I can't do the. That's crazy. Krispy. No. Then it just goes into something else.

Crazy Christmas cars. So yeah, I have crispy ours. You got any weird speech things? I just have a problem. No, I don't. I don't. You have none? I don't think so.

Sometimes I don't enunciate things and they all spill together. Okay. How do you say the word when like dudes get snipped? How do you say that word? Vasectomy? Yeah. Okay. So I was watching Selling Sunset on Netflix and then apparently

they went to go get look at getting vasectomies or whatever so they went to a doctor and the doctor pronounced it visectomy excuse me the doctor did they go to this doctor to do it because that's kind of scary he was saying right i don't know i don't know if we've been saying vasectomy wrong and it's visectomy or they say i don't know bisectomy but like i did the pronunciation on google which is like my best friend because i pronounce everything wrong and she says vasectomy but this was a visectomy doctor. Yeah. And he said,

Vycectomy. Oh my gosh. Never heard it that way. Or something to that effect. I'm sure I'm also butchering how he pronounced it. But he didn't say it like. He did not say Vesectomy. Oh.

Like there was an I or an E or something else in there. And now I am questioning everything. The English language makes zero sense to me. Oh, I can't even imagine learning it as your like second language. I can't even imagine. No. I learned French and that was hard. But like if I had to learn English,

nothing would make sense to me. At least there's like an art form to other languages. I'm pretty sure there was somebody who was putting together our language and just said, yeah, that works. Right. Use that word. It makes no sense. Or like when we spell things, I'm a very phonetic person.

If I see something, I'm going to say it exactly how I see it. So if there's another pronunciation of something, then how it's spelled, I'm not going to get it correct. Yeah. And that happens a lot in my life. But it's so dumb to me. I'm just like, why can't you spell it in the way that it's supposed to be pronounced? I know. No, I feel bad for people trying to.

Right. I do. The English language is difficult. For what reason? Tell me why. I don't know. I'm glad we know it. Because if I tried now, it wouldn't work.

I know. I know. It baffles me every time. And every time I say something, I mispronounce something in a sentence somewhere. And it's just because I'm phonetically doing things. correctly. Hooked on phonics, man. Hooked on phonics. I was good at that.

Yeah. Not good at every day. But anyways, yeah, I have crispy ours. You got nothing? I got, no. I'm just a weirdo. Crispy ours. I don't think I do that I've noticed.

I probably do. No. But, you know, maybe that's the difference between your, your private education and my public one. Oh, yeah. We really got in there with the pronunciation. I took a pronunciation course. No, I'm just kidding.

No. I was in there, like, typing 50, eight words per minute or whatever and you were getting there being taught the actual English language. Yeah. That's hilarious. No, I took Spanish for nine years and I still cannot speak like fluent Spanish. You can't, I mean, I had, I nearly had a minor in French in college. And if you do not use it every single day or write it or whatever, you're going to lose it within days, weeks.

Yeah. You can learn as much as you wanted to. And I swear it goes away because it's like a memory thing in your brain. Yeah. I mean, I could conjugate verbs till next year, but like I don't know vocabulary that much. So I'm like, I can't say much. Yeah. Like I could, when we went to Paris last year, I could read signs and I knew certain words

and I could place things. And like, I could be on the subway and be fine because I could understand basic things. But I would, it was like I would get every other word people were talking about in French. So I would never understand context. It was just like words. You're like slow down. So I need that too. Like you really got to slow down.

Mm-hmm. So I can process. But once upon a time your girl is Yama Paul Morgan. Whoa. Oh my gosh. I could speak all of it. Yeah. And you were the same way with Spanish.

Yeah. I wish I could. I mean, nine years is a long time to study a language. But we would just keep going back to the same things, you know. It's like the colors, numbers. Uh-huh. Conjugating verbs. Yeah.

Yeah. Like, yo. Two. I don't even know. Wait, is one yo? Yo is I. Like, yo ablo English. Two are blest.

Kese is like a what if. Like they had similarities in the two languages. But then it also hurt my brain when I looked at both languages. Because I was like, that feels the same. Yeah. All I knew how to say was Puido I'll banio. Can I go to the bathroom? That's how I said. I might need that one day. Puedo ear albaño. Can I go to the bathroom?

And you just said ir. Did I? Did I do the crazy art? Albaño. Yeah. Puido ir albaño? Why? That's not a tongue roller. Oh my gosh. You did.

But I love that. That's in my head. It's like ASMR or whatever. It's just like it. This is all the Christmas. I'm probably annoying a lot of people because I bet there's a whole lot of people that don't like that. I'm sorry. Now they're going to notice it.

Yeah. You caught it out. If I do it fast, if I talk normally and that's also the thing my language just changes in general when I talk really fast. I might as well be an alien. So it's fine. Anyways, we're going to get out of here. Yeah. Well, we're going to go answer some listener questions.

Wow.
