Earners, what's up?
Look, money is something we all deal with,
but financial literacy is what helps turn income into real wealth.
On each episode of the podcast, Earn Your Leisure,
we break down the conversations you need to understand money,
investing, and entrepreneurship.
From stocks and real estate to credit, business, and generational wealth,
our goal is simple.
Make financial literacy accessible for everyone.
Because when you understand the system,
you can start to build within it.

So I'm Leanne.
Yeah.
This is my best friend, Janet.
Hey.
And we have been joined at the hips since high school.
Absolutely.
A redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip.
Just a little bit bigger hips.
This is a podcast.
We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey.
With all the snacks and drinks.
Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer?
They hit a bogo.
Well, then you got it.
Listen to soccer moms on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
How much you wait, Wanda?
Right now, about 130.
I'm at 183.
We should race.
No, I want to leave here with my original hips.
On the podcast, the matchup with Alia, I pair prominent female athletes with unexpected guests.
On a recent episode, I sat down with undisputed boxing champ, Clarissa Shields, and comedian Wanda Sykes to talk about Wanda's new movie, Undercard, the art of trash talk and what it really means to be ladylike.

We have an incredible new episode this week for you guys.
We have our girl Hillary Duff in here, and we can't wait for you to hear this episode.
They put on Lizzie McGuire 2 a.m. Video on Demand, this guy's.
2 a.m.
Lizzie McGuire.
And I'm like, wild.
A wild batch you were with.
It was like a first closet moment from me where I was like, I don't feel like she's hot,
like the rest of that.
No, no, no, I was like, she's beautiful.
But I'm appreciating her in a different way than these boys are.
I'm not like, but listen to Los Coleristas on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or whatever you get your podcast.
Hello, gorgeous, it's Lala Kent.
Host of Untraditionally Lala.
My days of filling up cups at Sir may be over, but I'm still loving life in the valley.
Life on the other side of the hill is giving grown-up vibes.
But over here, on my podcast, Untraditionally Lala, I'm still that Lala you either love or
love to hate. It's unruly. It's unafraid. It's untraditionally la la. Listen to Untraditionally Lala on the
IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Best bits of the week with
Morgan. It's listener Q&A Time. Where Morgan and a show member answer almost all your questions.
Listener Q&A time, but we're going to start with some shoutouts. I love your singing. Her name is
Steph from Wooddale, Illinois. Thanks, Steph. Yeah. Tamara from Illinois just wanted to say how
Lovely, you two are and I appreciate you.
Oh, that was pretty sweet.
Tamara, we appreciate you.
Yes.
It feels like it just got to like a really nice, soft voice.
Delilah.
Yes.
It does.
Thank you.
Oh my gosh, how'd we get to Zen just now?
We did.
Listen, two Wichita girls, we always find a Zen moment every now and again.
We do.
Can she tell us more about her role on the show and behind the scenes?
This is from Ashley.
Oh, this is a question.
Oh, my gosh.
There's so many things, I feel like.
Okay, so my day is basically split up into two parts. Okay, so, you know, in the morning, it's the live show. So I'm answering phones. I send out a rundown that kind of summarizes what we talked about on the show, different points. Like tell me something goods and all that. That goes to every station. I help find tell me something goods. There's another side deal that Amy and Bobby record. It's called the country minute. It's like a minute of country, you know,
news stories. I help turn in news stories and TikTok. If there's anything like interesting videos or
whatever, I'll send that in. If we have artist prep, if we have an artist in, I'll put like a sheet
together that has like all like fun facts and their tour dates and album info with like songwriters on it.
What else do I do? I don't even know what else I do.
You do a lot. I mean, you send pride, the prizes out to listener.
You help. Don't you organize with the voicemails now? Yes, voicemails. Yes, I do that.
You, um, which we get a lot of those.
Facilitate just a lot of calls in general, not just like the live calls with the voicemails.
You're also, you're just facilitating a lot of those that come in during the main live show.
Yes, like just kind of anything, since everybody else is in the studio talking during the show,
if they need an audio clip or something like loaded, I'll get it ready and I'll send it to
Kevin and Pitts who are in the other room to help do that. So I'm kind of just like a,
whatever needs to be done in this moment can Abby do it.
You run errands.
Sometimes I have to go get hot dogs when you don't need to.
Oh, my favorite part.
Oh, we're going to bring that up.
I'm triggered.
It's supposed to be a joke.
It's supposed to be a joke.
Too soon.
Oh, my gosh.
Yeah, that's still too soon.
Sorry.
Okay.
My bad.
But sometimes you run errands.
Yeah.
Yes.
I do run errands.
Besides the hot dogs.
Uh-huh.
You'll run other errands.
Yep.
Make sure stuff is in the
prize closet, yeah, send out the prizes, the crap from the back that they win.
But yeah, I said it's split up in two days because like in the morning or two times of the day.
In the morning, I do all the live show stuff.
And then the night before I get everything else prep for the next day, if that makes sense.
Kind of like the news stories and stuff we talk about.
And you also help with the National Podcast Network.
Yes, I'll say, look at you knowing my schedule more than me.
I think that's why my brain is all over the place because I have a whole list.
computer, I have it by my keyboard of everything I need to do every day. So I think that's kind of,
run down the list. Yeah. And if you're, she mentions her brain. In part one, we talk a little bit
about our brains. So yeah. I'm always a lot in there at all times. Yeah, I help with an
podcast network. Um, and I help prep some Bobbycast stuff and do special episodes for the Bobbycast,
which is cool. And then Caroline Hobbies podcast, I help produce that. So,
Yeah. A lot of stuff over there. I know. It's a lot. It's fun. You're a hard worker and you're good at what you do.
Dedicated. Yeah, you are. So that could have a role play in the brain all over the place. Mine does too.
I'm very lack of sleep right now. I'm running on like five hours. Oh, that's like me every day.
Yeah. Yeah. Look at us go. We're doing good. It's fine. We are. Did you decide if you're doing the holiday singing group this year, James in Virginia? Oh, gosh.
did not decide yet, but we are getting down to the wire.
When do you have to decide?
So they have been rehearsing on Sundays.
Okay.
And some weeknights.
I do have the tracks like on my phone that I can listen to and rehearse.
It's just hard because I got to decide when I'm going home.
I used to like when I was single.
I would go home the entire break.
But now that I'm dating somebody, I don't,
I'm probably not going to be able to go that long.
so then I'll be in town for more things.
Makes sense.
You know, because a lot of them are like December leading up to Christmas Day.
And if I'm home that first week, I'm missing that anyway.
Yeah.
So it's like trying to decide if it's worth it to do it when there's not a lot that you can do depending on when you go home.
Yes, I haven't decided yet.
Okay.
I'll post about it if we do.
But I'm kind of like you.
I'm like, I'm trying to, I can't say yes to everything.
Because then I get very overwhelmed and then I'm not that.
you know, you can't be 100%.
If you're just like to
scatterbrained and not focused,
I'm not going to be able to add anything to them.
So I want to make sure I can be 100%.
So I got to get my schedule figured out.
Yeah.
I completely understand.
We're in a season of rest.
Trying to be anyway.
Trying to.
Have you all been on a double date yet?
This is from Katie in Texas.
Oh my gosh.
Wait, we did get to see each other.
Post Malones.
The grand opening.
We've had moments of passing.
but we haven't quite accomplished a double date.
But yes, we were at Post Malones at the same time.
We had a moment where the boyfriends met.
It was very brief because Post Malins was chaotic.
It was.
We were just like sitting on bar stools because we had been up walking and I was like,
let's just sit here and eat or just relax because it was, yes, there were people everywhere,
really loud.
And then you guys walked in and we said hi.
And then I never saw you again.
I know.
I never saw you again either.
You were like, we're going to walk out and explore and then.
I was gone into the abyss.
We didn't end up staying for the concert itself because it was insane on Broadway.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah.
Us trying to walk from the bar like into the area and the like to see the concert, people were like pushing.
It was getting into like a bad situation.
Yeah.
And we couldn't even get into, get to the where we were supposed to be standing.
And I was dead sober.
I said, I do not have it in me to survive this.
No, it's a lot.
They were like, get Metro down here now because people were pushing.
And I'm like, I'm not trying to cut anybody in line.
I'm not trying to block anybody.
I'm just trying to get through this entrance.
And yeah.
But we didn't see each other again.
But we need to.
Why have we not gone on one?
Just because we were just both talking about how chaotic both of our schedules are.
I know.
We barely have time in our own lives to like do stuff for ourselves.
Yeah, we really don't.
Let alone to make that happen.
But we do need to.
We just need to put like something on the book.
I know. We do. Make it happen. Before the end of the year, let's try. Okay, deal. We'll go to a Christmas bar, so it'll be very festive.
Oh, yes. That'd be fun. Okay. Deal. Have you converted to Packers fan yet? This is from Jill Blake in Tennessee.
When they're playing, I'll cheer for them. If Broncos are playing, I will cheer for the Broncos. If they play each other, I will cheer for the Broncos.
Are you a diehard Broncos fan? Yeah. Like, you're never going to give that up. No. Because it's kind of,
like a just a family tradition.
And it's also like a way for me to feel close to my brother who passed away because he was a huge Broncos fan.
And I feel like he would, you know, he's looking down like would strike me if I.
He'd be mad if you switch teams.
Yeah.
He'd be like, what are you doing?
So, no, I will always be a Broncos fan kind of as a tribute to him.
But I'm not opposed to being a Packers fan.
I like cheering for them.
Okay.
They're really good.
What about your boyfriend though, becoming a Broncos fan?
He cheers for them.
But he's more, you know how guys are.
They're more like, no, this is my team.
There's no changing.
No.
If I buy him a Bronco shirt, he might like wear one.
And I was like that with him.
I was like, you can buy me.
I'm not going to buy a Packers thing.
You can buy it for me if you want me to wear it.
That's how you make it all work.
Yeah.
That's kind of how he was.
He's like, if you want to buy me like Jayhawks, like Kansas stuff, then I'll wear it.
Does he have college teams?
Because you are a diehard Jayhawk fan too.
Yeah.
he is Wisconsin, but then you went to San Diego State for grad school.
This may have a lot of teams.
Is that grad school or is that undergrad?
Oh my gosh.
I don't even know.
Yeah, he does.
Yeah.
But he's mostly football like Packers.
That's his number one.
Okay.
That's the one that matters the most, the others he just kind of keeps up with.
Uh-huh.
But he likes the Milwaukee Bucks, I think, too.
Okay.
So everything with like, yes.
Yeah, he has his teams.
That's a lot going on there.
I know.
Like, how do you have so many teams?
You'd be like, okay, we can both, like, have shared NFL teams, but like, we got to consolidate the college teams, okay?
Just one.
Yep.
Yes.
And it's going to be the Jayhawks.
It's basically, I mean, yeah, that one rules, you know, that one definitely rules.
No, yeah, you Jayhawks are diehard, so yeah, I know.
Well, versed.
Basketball.
Football, you guys are good.
Leave them.
Leave them.
We don't need the Jayhawks for football.
No, I just mean as far as being good.
Oh, that's funny. That was funny.
Okay, we're going to take a quick break and jump out of here.
I think that answer to your question, though, Jill.
American soccer is about to explode.
The World Cup is coming.
Ramos sending on to earn a score at the chip.
I'm Tad Ramos.
I'm Tom Boat.
On our podcast, Inside American Soccer, you'll get the real storylines.
I'm not worried about Policic.
I'm not worried about Balligan.
I'm not worried about McKinney.
My only concern is what happens in the back.
The biggest decisions.
If you're going to look at stats and numbers,
he has no shot at making this World Cup team.
And the truth about the U.S. national team.
It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals
or potentially a great run into the semifinals.
The World Cup is almost here.

I went and sat on the little ottoman in front of him.
I said, hi, dad.
And just when I said that, my mom comes out of the kitchen, and she says, I have some cookies and milk.
This is his badass convict.
Right.
Just finished five years.
I'm going to have cookies and milk at my mom.
Yeah.

We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods of turbulence and transformation.
There is one finding that is consistent, and that is that,
that our resilience rests on our relationships.
I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change.
We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes.

I feel like it was a little bit unbelievable until I really start making money.
It's Financial Literacy Month and the podcast Eating While Broke.
is bringing real conversations about money, growth, and building your future.
This month, hear from top streamer Zoe Spencer and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landrum-Pierre,
as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up.
If I'm outside with my parents and they're seeing all these people come up to me for pictures,
it's like, what?
Today now, obviously, it's like 100%.
They believe everything.
But at first, it was just like, you got to go get a real job.
There's an economic component to communities thriving.
If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail.
And what I mean by fail is they don't have money to pay for food.
They cannot feed their kids.
They do not have homes.
Communities don't work unless there's money flowing through them.

We did talk about this a little bit in part one, but I want to make sure to answer in case you can't check both of them.
but if you can I suggest going to listen to that.
This is from Chris in California.
Have you put your house up for rent?
Are you now paying rent?
And you can share as much or as little as you want to.
Please know that.
Yeah, no, I, it's not up for rent.
And no, I'm not paying rent at my boyfriend's house.
And you mentioned on part one that it's going to be put up for rent at some point.
Uh-huh.
Yeah, I'm going through all my stuff.
Like I said, I don't know.
I accumulated a lot in 10 years.
the 12 years I've lived here.
And I'm being very strategic of what I want to keep and give away.
And that's a process.
Yeah.
And I'm very like sentimental.
I like to hold on to things.
Mm,
your hoarder?
Yes.
That was a very nice way of telling yourself hoarder.
Like that futon that I talked about in the other part,
that was the first futon that I bought in Nashville.
Like,
and so I had memories that I was in my little apartment, just living on my own.
Abby, you cannot be on the horse.
hoarder show one day.
You have got to work through this part.
No, I'm not there. I can walk
like through my house.
You said that a little not confidently
if I'm being honest.
I think that when it's a problem is when you can't see
your floors. I can see my floors.
It's a problem before that.
Just an FYI.
I love being sentimental and I think
there's always things you should have for keep six.
But a futon from when you first
go to the show.
Ma'am.
That is like screams college.
I'm dying.
That's so ridiculous, the futon.
Hey, I got rid of the table and chairs set.
Good for the table and chairs.
They got out of there.
We got to, you know, find the things that are really cannot be replaced.
You can replace a futon.
Yeah, it's got to go.
It's not very comfortable either.
It's really, yeah.
Yeah, because it's never a college kid.
It's about to be in a college dormitory.
It is. I should give it away. I should. There's a lot of college kids around here. You totally get one. I'd love to do that. That's funny. I swear you're going to end up on hoarders. And I'm saying that very jokingly because I really don't know what your house looks like. But I, my family, we have a lot of stuff. And I have made an active decision as an adult to not keep a lot of stuff. Oh yeah. You don't have anything. No, I'm very intentional about it either has a place or it leaves.
or it gets donated or somebody gets it.
I'm very good also about making sure it gets reused
because I do not like throwing things away.
Yeah.
So like I will find a home for it.
It just cannot be in my home.
You need a futon?
No.
No more things.
Oh my.
Okay.
So she's working on it.
I'm working on it.
It's a work in progress.
Working on not being on hoarders.
I will die laughing.
And so much love, as we say on the show.
That's how I get on TV.
And lunchbox would love that.
I got on hoarders.
It's like 10 years down the road.
You pop up on hoarders.
And I'm like, pull the clip.
Pull the clip.
We talked about this.
You put this into the universe.
No, I'm putting into the universe that you can get rid of it now.
You know, I've had the food on 12 years.
Let's just make it 20.
No.
Not.
No.
Oh, Abby.
Does Abby run a turkey trout for Thanksgiving?
That's from Alyssa.
Oh my gosh.
I never do.
And I don't know why.
Why?
I do know why because I like to sleep in.
And races are usually at like 8 or 7.30.
That's true, but you love running.
I do love running.
Don't really love like getting up.
You really strike me as a turkey trout girl.
I used to be.
I was in high school.
I got like a medal for it too.
My friend and I Dana and I used to run the turkey trot.
That was cool.
I am the exact polar opposite.
You know where they have those means?
where it's like, I hope I don't marry into a family that does turkey draw on Thanksgiving.
That's me.
I hope I never marry into that family.
You would never do one.
No, I'll walk on Thanksgiving.
I love going on a walk or like a hike or something.
But you make, I just hate running.
Yeah.
I just hate early mornings.
For working on a morning show, I am not a morning person.
I feel you on that.
I really did used to be like dedicated at running, getting up.
And doing it and doing, did you wear like a little turkey show?
hat?
No, no.
It's what I had a picture.
Is everybody who does a turkey trot has like one of the turkey hats with the legs and they just
run with the turkey hat on?
If I would do it now, yeah, I'd definitely go all out.
You got to make it fun.
You know, you got to do like a costume.
I could do like a onesie, a turkey onesie.
See?
That's fun.
Yeah, I could do that.
But it has to be after like 11 o'clock.
I don't think those exist.
Because most people are starting to eat by that point.
I know.
Lunch or dinner depending on where they fall.
Yeah.
Okay.
So no.
And lastly, we got to.
question for some help. So our listener,
Krista has a friends,
like a friends miss Christmas party.
And she wants to know favorite things to take for that in the $20 to $30 range.
Oh my gosh. I'm really bad at bringing things,
like coming up with creative things to bring.
I know. Me too. I'm not a good present gift. I'm very practical. Like just how you heard
us mentioning about like I don't ever want to get somebody something that just sits in their house.
Uh-huh.
I want them to use it or it's like a gift card that they'll use outside somewhere and it doesn't take up a lot of space.
I'm a very practical gift giver.
Oh man, I made a really good sweet potato casserole with like marshmallows on top and cinnamon.
Like I remember that was really good and people really liked that.
Okay.
Yeah.
So if you just look up, you know, I'm sure, I just looked it up online.
I remember.
I was like, I want to make something like that.
Food is a universal love language.
You can always bring food and people are.
happy. I have different dips that I love to bring. Raspberry
Black Bean Dip is one of my favorite.
That's from Manhattan that I always remake for parties.
I also like will make a little treat bags with Oreo balls or like homemade checks mix.
So you could do those.
But I guess if it's like gift giving situation.
Wait, I thought she said food.
Oh my God.
I totally missed that.
You're like, what are you doing?
No, it's the same.
Okay, sorry.
You can still, you could do a little treat bag for a gift.
Oh my gosh.
It still works.
You're like, what are you talking about?
So you could bring a sweet potato casserole to the Friendsgiving.
Yeah.
Okay.
The Friends Miss Christmas party.
It's really throwing me off.
It says Friends Miss.
Yes.
I totally missed that whole thing because I was like, oh, what to bring to eat.
Okay.
Gifts.
We're going there.
It's all right.
We got a lot of options.
I would say one of my favorite things is to get Barefoot Dreams fuzzy socks.
Ooh.
There's a bunch of women because those are like really high quality fuzzy socks.
and they're comfy.
Everybody's loved them.
Oh, yeah.
Last year I did, so some of my friends, yeah, I did fuzzy socks, a thing of hand lotion,
and a candle.
And that's like $30.
That's like $10 each.
A little self-care gift.
Yeah.
Those are fun.
But see, whenever we do like our big, when we do it with my dad's side for Christmas,
we'd always do bring gift cards and they were always the one that got passed around.
So if you're doing a type of pass-around situation, get a gift card, like an Amazon gift card.
Everybody loves an Amazon gift card.
or you could do a target gift card.
Those are really popular too if you don't want to just do a basic visa.
Those are fun or like a Taco Bell gift card.
I love a gift card.
I'm a huge fan of gift cards.
I am too.
I will keep them and I will use them.
Yeah, they say it's like boring or not creative and I'm like love it.
If it's something that everybody, you know.
It's practical, logical, logical and it doesn't take up space.
Yes.
And you know that they're probably going to use it unless there's somebody who doesn't want free money.
I know.
That feels weird though.
Yeah.
You don't like free money.
That feels weird.
Yeah.
That is weird.
How about a heated blanket?
Oh, fun.
I love those.
Okay.
I don't even think I have a heated blanket.
Oh my gosh.
Really?
Yeah.
Love.
You just plug it in.
Get all cozy.
She's like doing things with her hands over here and I'm like, I'm not exactly sure what that means, but I hear you.
I'm imagining myself on a couch on my futon with a heated blanket.
I like that.
You could also do a crew neck of some kind, my friends for my birthday one year,
30th birthday, they got a stitching of Remy and Hazel on their faces and a little red crewneck
and wear it all the time.
Oh, I love that.
So I could do a personalized crewneck of some kind or like for their team or maybe there's
like something they're super geeked out about.
Crenacks are always easy.
And slippers.
I'm trying to think of things I would love to get.
I love that you just kept going to self-care route.
Like you started somewhere and you just like trickled in that same.
These are because I would love to get.
And that's what matters.
So we got all the options here.
We came up with some.
Wine.
Wine's good.
Unless they're not a wine drinker.
I'm not.
I'm not either anymore.
But people seem to love to get it.
You know, I love a kitchen utensil.
You find a cool kitchen utensil that's like people would love, whether it's like a vegetable
cutter or, I don't know, maybe I'm weird.
I really like kitchen gadgets.
Is that weird?
Am I old?
A veggie cutter.
Oh, love it.
I love those.
Again, practical.
Like, that's where my mind goes.
I'm like, oh, like, if you love to cook, you're going to use something like that.
Mm-hmm.
I guess it depends on if you're doing someone or just, if you're doing someone specifically, we have plenty of options.
If you're doing like a rotation situation where you're like throwing around gifts, gift card always.
It's always a winner.
Oh, yeah.
And throw some fuzzy socks with it.
Everybody will be happy.
Oh, my gosh.
That's the best right there.
See?
Right there.
That's it.
Not my.
Or a sweet potato cassero.
What in the world, Abby?
I don't.
I missed that.
I went somewhere else in that moment.
But also bring the sweet potato casserole with the gift.
You just went with it too.
You're like, okay.
You know, I let y'all roll with things.
We just see where they go.
Thank you.
But yeah, bring the sweet potato casserole with your fuzzy socks.
I love a pair of socks, okay?
All right, let's get out of here.
Oh, man, yeah, I'm going to go sleep or something.
Got to focus.
I think we both need some sleep.
Coffee maybe?
I don't know.
I don't think more coffee.
I haven't had any today.
Now I'm like loopy.
Okay.
Bye, everybody.

soccer moms. So I'm Leanne.
This is my best friend Janet. Hey. And we
have been joined at the hips since high school.
Absolutely. A redacted
amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip.
Just a little bit bigger hips. This is a podcast
we're recording it as we tailgate our youth
soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey.
With all the snacks and
drinks. Why did you
get hard seltzer instead of beer?

earners, what's up?
Look, money is something we all deal with,
but financial literacy is what helps turn income into real wealth.
On each episode of the podcast, Earn Your Leisure,
we break down the conversations you need to understand money,
investing, and entrepreneurship.
From stocks and real estate to credit, business, and generational wealth,
our goal is simple.
Make financial literacy accessible for everyone.
Because when you understand the system,
you can start to build within it.

How much you wait, Wanda?
Right now, about 130.
I'm at 183. We should race.
No, I want to leave here with my original hips.
On the podcast of Matchup with Liliah,
I pair prominent female athletes with unexpected guests.
On a recent episode, I sat down with undisputed boxing champ,
Cloressa Shields, and comedian Wanda Sykes
to talk about Wanda's new movie Undercard,
the art of trash talk, and what it really means to be ladylike.
