Starting point is 00:02:24 Where Morgan and a show member answer almost all your questions. It is time for some listener questions and we answer. Abby is joining me this weekend. I sounded weird when I said your name. Abby. Abby's joining me. How are you, Abby? I'm good.
Starting point is 00:02:42 Thanks for being here. We've got Alyssa in Illinois who said good luck on the race this weekend. So now you have two best bits things. You'll play back while you're doing your run. Go, Abby, at this moment in time, she's not running because she's here recording with me. But by the time this podcast comes out, she will be actively in the run. Yeah. So Abby, keep going.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Thank you. I'm going. I need some water. Maybe some little gel packets. Little things. What are your big goals personally and professionally? for the rest of 2026. This is from Sherry.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Oh, my. Is this your answering to or just me? I can, but they're for you. My goal would be, okay, I have, oh, professional to get my other song out. I want a third song and I want to write it. So that would be professional. Personal would be to get my stomach figured out and get back on my little health journey. Like, follow what I should have done to start out. I don't know if that'll help, though,
Starting point is 00:03:47 because I feel like I did it six weeks and still didn't help of me, like, eating right and cutting stuff out. And we did go into detail talking a lot about Abby's health in the part one. So if you're, if you're also having, like chronic illness stuff like Abby is, then go check it out. Yeah. But I will say sometimes six weeks is not enough, sadly. And I did learn that. Yeah. Yeah, I felt great in the moment and then a few weeks after it, but then it just slowly came back and now we're back to before I started. So that's a huge goal to get that.
Starting point is 00:04:18 That's both good ones? Yeah. It's good. You looked at me like I was crazy when I asked you that question. I did. Well, it was funny because my fiance always tells me that I need to be better at like making goals for myself because I kind of just like live life day to day and just kind of m-hmm. And he's very goal-oriented. You did not just m-yourself. You're so many other people.
Starting point is 00:04:42 No, I meant myself. But hey, I do have a couple of goals. I just got to follow through with them. You do. Where is that coming out of with your fiance? Like, where is the goal conversation happening? How did that come out? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:04:55 I don't even know what, like, what made that conversation go. I'm not sure. Are you a planner? Like, you're super organized with work and stuff, but are you a planner? Do you like to plan things out in advance? No. No, absolutely not. I would rather plan it a day of. That's why, oh, let's talk about wedding planning. I'd rather just wake up that day and say, let's just go. I'm just not a big planner, no. Yeah, that's going to add a little wrinkle for you.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Yes. It probably just came up with him and I just talking in day-to-day stuff where he's like, he always has everything in his calendar. He's very organized. Yeah, like he's like, hey, I have this on Wednesday, I have this on Thursday. He's like, what do you have? I'm like, I don't really know. Okay, I just had a scare for a second. I could only see one from my computer that one microphone went on and I was like, no. Can you imagine?
Starting point is 00:05:54 No, we're good. Anyways. Oh, my gosh. I could see that with him and the few times that I've been around him. He definitely just like feels like he's very put together. He is. And you also feel very put together, though, at work. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:06:08 Really? Well, I don't know. Now maybe I shouldn't say that. It's not like balls are dropping because of. Yeah. Well, that's the thing. Here, that's the 100% thing is work. Yes. Yes. I put that first. And so everything's in my calendar work related that needs to be turned in and happen because there's deadlines, right? I do a lot of prep like for artists and like interviews and stuff. So you have to have that before the interview or you are screwed. Like with my. my life like there's no deadline yeah I mean yeah really but now it's like oh I'm getting up there you should make some deadlines like wedding planning there's no like deadline if somebody was like you have to decide when this by this time I could probably do it okay wow that was deep that was that was like that's why you just had a little retro like introspective moment mm-hmm let me ask you this a little different but I think it could be a good thing for you would he be
Starting point is 00:07:09 interested in spearheading wedding planning? Oh yeah. He would probably have it done in like two days. Just because... That's impossible, I promise you. I have learned. There's a lot of things. There's a lot of like communication that has to happen. But he could at least get you options together and he could start planning it and you could start picking things. Yes. By way of him. No, that would probably be good because like I am a little controlling. Like, I wouldn't want him to just like do it all, but I like how if he gave me options and been like, do you want here, here or here, like I said, or I've said in the past, yes, I could do that. I just need options. Well, then maybe that's how you can start when you guys are in that space, because there's other stuff going on and other factors. But when you're in that space and wedding planning starts to become
Starting point is 00:07:58 more front of mind, I think that could be a way that you guys go after it. That could not feel overwhelming for you. Yeah, I like that. Options. Yeah. Listen, there. There's always one person in a relationship who's more of a planner. And it just so happens. Is that you? Yes. Okay. Are you, do you see my laptop?
Starting point is 00:08:17 Well, I didn't know. Everything has a folder. Have you seen my laptop? Yes. Okay. It reminds me of Eddie's. Oh my gosh. Because don't you have all the like icons on the main home screen?
Starting point is 00:08:30 Yes. Yes. Yeah. I tried to make a folder. I tried. Yeah, I've made folders. It's okay. They just need to be dragged over to the folder.
Starting point is 00:08:37 That's okay. Like I said, there's always one. at least in a relationship that really holds that stronghold. So he can provide that for you. I think that would be a great plan of action for you. So it's not so overwhelming. Really? You know, like my fiancee and I are the same way.
Starting point is 00:08:52 He's really good, like one task. Like he can get something done one task. I can have 13 things happening in my brain at one time. We are not the same in that. And so I've learned that about him. And so like, and he'll get it. If he gets that one task, he can get it done in 30 minutes because it's, one task and I give them another one and like whatever. So those are our different brains. That's how
Starting point is 00:09:14 they operate, you know? And we've learned to make those both work for our relationship versus trying to make the impossible happen. If I tried to give him 10 things at once, he looked at me like, what are you doing? You know, you're setting me up to fail. You know? And it set you up to fail if you are trying to do a bunch of things that you don't feel comfortable doing. So you got to learn your strengths and your strengths is to be able to choose from options. Yeah. I think that would be great for you guys. No more than three.
Starting point is 00:09:43 Yes. My big goals personally want to get married. I'd love to see that through this all year. I've been a lot of work in for that. That for sure. Personally would be getting married and having our party and everything. And then professionally, I'm doing some talks back home, which I'm really excited about. What's that even mean? What? So I got hired two different talks. One is back at my college. Oh, talks. I thought you met you have like talks of something in the works like a job back home. And I was like, what? You're saying this right now.
Starting point is 00:10:26 That's why our face was that. I was like, yeah, no like actual like speaking engagements. Abby was like, did you just like drop breaking news? No. Wait, you're planning a wedding, but you're about to move back? What's happening? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Speaking engagements, back home. Same, same, but different.
Starting point is 00:10:46 I don't know where my head went there. That is so funny. That is funny. Yeah, so one of the speaking engagements is for back home in Manhattan, Kansas, back in my call, well, back home home state, Manhattan, Kansas, where I went to college. Some of the college hired me to go back and do a keynote speak. Ooh. Yeah, super excited about that. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:11:09 And then another one is a cool foundation called Love Like Remy, which not my dog, but really crazy that that's also her name. It's a foundation created for a girl who committed suicide. And I'm also doing the speaking engagement at that talking about my experiences and stuff growing up. Oh, wow. There are two really big ones that I'm excited about. Yeah, they're both. One's in Manhattan, one's back in Wichita. So, get a little bit of both.
Starting point is 00:11:38 Look at you. Yes. Okay, that's cool. I'm excited. So those are my goals, get those done and do them well. I've never done speaking engagements. Yeah, I was going to ask. Quite to that caliber.
Starting point is 00:11:50 I've done them different kinds, but I'm excited for both of these. I think they'll be really, I can speak to both of them very well. Just what I'm excited about. How long do they have to be? Or how long are they usually? I don't know. That's a great question. It depends.
Starting point is 00:12:03 I think the one back in Witcho job. Yeah, it might be closer to an hour. I'm also bringing one of my old teachers, who was a big part of my high school experience. I also brought her on my podcast. She really is credited with saving my life at that school when I was going through some stuff. And then she'll come out and speak to,
Starting point is 00:12:25 which I'm excited about kind of doing that together with her. And then the other one, it's more of a lunchtime thing, so maybe like 30 minutes, maybe. Oh, that is awesome. Yeah. Nice. If you were at KU, that would be so much better. Just kidding.
Starting point is 00:12:40 Wrong. Abby. Purple and white. Not blue and yet, red. Yet. I wanted to call you guys all the yellow, but you do have yellow. Sorry, crimson. Yeah, so those are fun things.
Starting point is 00:12:56 Where do you girls see yourself in 10 years, Lindsay from Wisconsin? The silence. Crickets, crickets. In 10 years, I will be. 42. Wow. Dang, Lindsay, you had to date that fast. Whoa. Yeah. What? Dating me, you know. Just putting 10 years on my life real quick. I'm like not comprehending what you're saying right now. Age to me is probably more of the correct word I should have used there. I don't know. Weird words come out of my mouth a lot.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Ten years. That's still, that's young. 42. Yeah. Where will you be? I'll probably hopefully be married with kids. All right. My own and his kids. stay-at-home mom I don't know checking out that lifestyle yeah see what that's like okay you know get up
Starting point is 00:13:47 get the kids ready for school get some coffee go to the gym do you think you'd want to be a stay-at-home mom is that a thing that you envision I would have to have like a part-time job I would need to be doing something else like I what am I going to do all day I don't know while they're at school like I want to do something
Starting point is 00:14:04 also that's fulfilling outside of my house. And that comes eventually. I definitely think when they're young, young kids, you have plenty of things to do with them. I mean, when they're old enough to be in school. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Which is weird, which I never thought. But my mom, like, that was one thing she regretted was, like, going back to school. I mean, going back to work. You know, she always wishes she had the ability to stay at home with the kids. that she went back right after and just kind of worked. Always had a babysitter or somebody. So she always says that something she regretted.
Starting point is 00:14:42 So I want to make sure that I don't have that regret. Yeah. I'm able to. I definitely think once it happens, you start to decide what feels best for you, for sure. It's hard to make that decision until it happens, until it arrives. And you have all the experiences of being a new mom, especially like the first time. Obviously wildly different to also being a step mom, different experiences. So hard to know how you're going to feel when that time comes.
Starting point is 00:15:08 I know, exactly. A lot of predicting. Right. For sure. I don't know, Lindsay. I mean, potentially still doing this. Maybe traveling the world, maybe living in a mountain town, maybe rescuing a bunch of animals, maybe running a nonprofit for animals. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:15:25 I can see my life going a lot of different directions. But it's funny because I don't, I don't picture that. Like, a lot of people would assume that I'd be like, yeah, I'm going to have kids. here we go, but I don't know that that's my and our path. Really? We've had those conversations for sure. And we've talked about it on the episodes we've done together, so it's not really a secret. But both of us are just like, if it's not a 100% yes, it's a no.
Starting point is 00:15:50 And that's just where we are with it. That's a very mature decision, you know, because some people are just like, we'll see if it's meant to be, it's meant to be or whatever. But you're thought about it, talked about it. Yes, I could see us becoming parents in all kinds of ways that are very non-traditional. So who knows what the future holds, but our own and that path, that specific path, is just probably not for us at the end of the day. So we both feel really good about that and where we are. So probably traveling, probably doing something crazy.
Starting point is 00:16:27 You never know with me. I kind of let the world decide what's going to happen in my life. And it's worked out so well for me. Right. Says the planner. Says the planner. Yeah. That sounds like me.
Starting point is 00:16:37 I used to have, you know, I did. But also, Planner Morgan had like a whole mash life figured out for herself when she was a kid. Oh, I bet she did. Oh, yeah. A white picket fence. I had four kids. A dog, a cat. I lived on a farm.
Starting point is 00:16:52 I was a stay-at-home mom. And then life happened to me. And I was like, not any of that besides the dog and the cat for sure. I want to white pick a fence. Like, don't know what happened to me. That's funny. All right, we're going to take a quick break. We'll be right back. All right, Abby. Have you ever done solo traveling?
Starting point is 00:17:12 Pros versus cons, JT, in New Hampshire. Oh, yeah, I've done it a lot. I actually kind of love it because you can do anything you want. It's up to you, you know? Like, if you see somebody, you're just sitting there and they're by themselves, you can meet a new friend. I went, where did I go? I mean, I've been everywhere by myself because when I was single. You did. You did a lot of solo travel. traveling. I went to Key West and that was prompted by Eddie. And that was, I wouldn't recommend Key West to go by yourself. I don't know. I'm not, it's wild down there. Wasn't it for you? We did not have the wild experience, but we also weren't there at night ever. That's true.
Starting point is 00:17:52 So maybe that has something to do with it. Yeah. But it was still fun to like explore. Pros cons. I would say like what the pros, you can meet people, do whatever you want on your time. it's very peaceful and relaxing. You have no one else that's going to tell you where you need to be. You can get up when you want and do whatever you want. The cons, I mean, I guess it just gets kind of lonely because you're like, oh, I wish someone was here to like see it with me. Especially more like beaches.
Starting point is 00:18:19 More beach trips are kind of like that because you always see like couples walking or families and you're like, oh, that'd be nice. More relaxing too. I feel like if you love a beach trip, you're probably a relaxer on the beach, which means you have more downtime. Right. Like I went to Chicago by myself. So fun.
Starting point is 00:18:36 I went to Boston. Key West, California. So fun. Oh my gosh. You're such a solo traveler. Yeah. That's crazy. I've never gone on a solo trip.
Starting point is 00:18:47 Really? Mm-mm. Oh, I thought you had. No. No. I mean, I've gone on work trips where I do a lot of stuff by myself. Mm-hmm. But never like an actual vacation that I took by myself.
Starting point is 00:19:02 I always went with friends. or family would come with me or partner at the time. I'm really good at roping people into trips. Yeah. Like I'm such a planner. We talk about being a planner. I'll schedule everything out and like I'll have a plan. I'm like, I just need you to come.
Starting point is 00:19:19 Just pay for yourself and come. Right. So that also makes it a lot easier where I'm like, I have a whole plan. All you have to do is show up. I know. See, that does make it. Yeah, that makes it a lot easier and fun. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:30 Oh, okay. I'll come. Don't have to worry about it. I'll just buy you. ticket? Yes, let's do it. So yeah, no. I've done work solo travel, but not any vacation. I feel like at some point I need to, but now that I have somebody to share it with, I don't know that I'll opt to choose to do it that way. Yeah. It's good for a weekend. I would say a long trip, probably not as much. Like you wouldn't want to do a whole week. You'd be like, okay.
Starting point is 00:19:55 I'm good here. You can only meet so many new people, you know. That's true. Yeah, where you're just like, okay, I want to just relax a weekend. Yeah. So if you need solo traveling tips, definitely go to Abby. Yeah. Prozo traveler. Prozo. Pro so. Oh, I like it.
Starting point is 00:20:13 I've made that up and I didn't even mean do. Just came out of my mouth that way. How are you adapting to live now that you will officially be a step? Mom, that's from Amy. I don't know how I'm adapting. I mean, yeah, it is kind of different, obviously, me, like, not sleeping in because that's what I always always used to, like, just being able to on the weekends, but it's like, they're up at seven, but it's super fun. It's, it's crazy because it's like we have two lives.
Starting point is 00:20:41 And when he has them on the weekends, it's like we're doing Adventure Science Center and, you know, going to see a movie or being outside, going to ride bikes at a park, going to a park. And then when it's not, it's like, we go to Broadway. So it's like kind of the- People are living two lives right now. It's weird. And that's the consistency. is there is none, I guess. But I grew up in a divorced household too. Like my parents, nothing was ever just like a strict or solid routine and like consistent. And so I guess I'm just used to that.
Starting point is 00:21:15 But yeah, it's very, it's very weird. But they're like the cutest and they're so sweet. Well, that probably gives you some perspective too, having had that experience also as a kid. Yes. To see emotionally probably what they're experiencing and what they might be going through or what their thoughts are on things. It might just give you a unique perspective
Starting point is 00:21:34 because that's not always the case. Right. And like I had the best childhood ever. And you know, and I want them to know that just because their parents aren't together, they can still, you know, when they're with their dad, they'll, they live life this way. When they're with their mom, it's, you know, it shouldn't, it shouldn't be bad. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:54 Oh, you're such a good, you're a good mom. Crazy. I know. What restaurant in Wichita do you miss? most. Skip in Kansas. Go cats. Excuse me? That's what he wrote. You wrote it. Rock chalk. What? Oh my gosh. I love Bella Luna so much. I love Bella Luna. I worked there. Did you? Yeah, I was a server. And I brought home the hummus every time we got a half off discount. And so I brought just like a huge tub of it. Every shift. That's so good. How long did you work there for? I think it was just a summer,
Starting point is 00:22:27 like in college when I was back. And I'm assuming to East Side. since you lived on the east side. Dang, if you worked at the one on the west side, we definitely would have seen each other. Really? Buffalo and Bel Luna on the west side are in the same market square. Wait, I never went to, I've never been to the one on the west side. I've only been to the one in, what's it called?
Starting point is 00:22:47 The east side square. No. Bradley Fair. Yeah, the east side square. That's literally what I was picturing, but I'm going to remember what it's called. That's funny. Because then you have new market square on the west side. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:22:59 Yeah. I've never been. That is funny. They were close. Yeah. Oh yeah. They're like right by each other. So we could have met that way.
Starting point is 00:23:09 Is that the restaurant you miss in Kansas? Buffalo, no. I miss working at Buffalo. It was a fun experience. But Babylon is a good one. I love their hummus too. I want it right now. I want it.
Starting point is 00:23:21 I miss Good Sense. Ooh. I loved Good Sense. But I never really had it. Really? Yeah. It is the best. local sandwich.
Starting point is 00:23:32 And I don't even know if it's super local. Maybe it's like all over like the Midwest. I don't know. But it was such fresh sandwiches. That and Cinnamon's Deli. Cinnamon's Deli. Oh, the bread bowl. Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:43 Oh, did I ever have the bread bowl? Ma'am, I would have the bread bowl with mac and cheese. You had the mac and cheese in the bread bowl? With the grilled cheese. Oh, my gosh. Wow. That is... Yeah, I had problems. I didn't know they put bag in juice at the...
Starting point is 00:24:06 Yeah. As I got older. Yeah. And then as I got older, I'd put the potato soup in it. Just add more... I don't know that it's much better. Some more cheese? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:16 It's not. Either way, I was eating carbs and bread, so... I did the... Mine was the broccoli cheddar soup. Well, at least you were getting broccoli. I definitely never chose broccoli cheddar. And then I got what sandwich was. It was like turkey.
Starting point is 00:24:29 And it had a... You're asking the person who always ate grilled cheese because of that's vegetarian, so I have no idea what else they had on the menu. Oh my gosh. I had like turkey, avocado, cream cheese and like alfalfa sprouts. Oh, yeah. It's something really weird. Like something so unique. That's why I loved it.
Starting point is 00:24:44 It was so different there. Yes. See, adult Morgan would love that without the meat. Young Morgan, absolutely not. I got the freaking grill cheese. It was always a grilled cheese special. And it was the size of my face. No, I did get the grilled cheese too when I was younger.
Starting point is 00:24:57 Yeah, yeah. When I was like, okay. Stab the knife. And so isn't it. Understood. It was a grilled cheese special. I know. It was so good.
Starting point is 00:25:06 It was so good. So that Cinnamon's Deli Goodsons and Brahms. Broms. Oh, that cherry pecan. That was my favorite. Cherry pecan? She just hit the mic because we have gnats in here for some reason. They're all over the building.
Starting point is 00:25:22 I always got the frozen yogurt swirl, chocolate and vanilla. Oh. My jam. Your jam? Yeah, those are mine. I'm trying to think what else. Any other? Those are good options, though.
Starting point is 00:25:33 Those are good. Okay. Who is further along the wedding planning, me or Abby, Don in Illinois. Don, we talked about this pretty extensively in part one. Yeah, let's take a guess. And one, two, three. Me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:48 But that's okay. That is totally fine. It's not a race. And Abby should do it as soon as she wants to or as late as she wants to or whenever she wants to because it is her wedding. There's no rush. It might not be until like 20-30. Who knows? 20-30.
Starting point is 00:26:05 And you could have so many options by 2030. You never know. It might be worth the weight. Like maybe things will get cheaper by then. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. So, but we do talk about it in part one if you want to check that out. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:18 We're getting out of here. Abby, thanks for being here. We're running away from the nads because they are everywhere. I know. Happening. I don't know what this problem is. And also, I would never normally bring it up. something that you guys can't see, but they're overwhelmingly all over this, like, not just
Starting point is 00:26:36 this studio that we're sitting in, but in our show studio, in the classroom. They're like all over our building. Well, that's why I'm wondering how it got in here. I'm sure it was hitching a ride on us in some way. They're so small, you can't see them until they start fluttering right around in your eyes. I know. Like, they like to make you mad.
