Starting point is 00:02:54 We hope you had a great weekend. Everybody good? Yeah. Morning studio. Morning. Man, I'm good too. We have a great show today. Nico Moon is coming in later.
Starting point is 00:03:02 I'm telling you, we get a lot of artists to come in here. But who lights up the room like Nico Moon? Nobody. And you probably know him from this song that goes, we just trying to have a good time. We just trying to catch a good time. We mess it out. We say half.
Starting point is 00:03:17 It comes in later. Okay, we're all here. We like to start off Monday with a deep breath. In the good news. We do. We do it. We do it. And the good news countdown.
Starting point is 00:03:29 It's the good news countdown. Counting down the biggest good news stories across the lab. Here we go. count it. Number five. An ICU nurse went above and beyond by tracking down the wiggles to convince a patient with Down syndrome suffering from COVID to use oxygen tubes. Here is nurse Stephen Moyland talking about the situation and a clip from the personalized video the wiggles made for the patient. She had it on her iPad. She just wouldn't look away. Just always looking at the wiggles. And I thought to myself, what if I could get the wiggles to wear the nasal palm?
Starting point is 00:04:07 Sarah, you can take five deep breaths. Let's try it together. One. Good. Pretty cool. They did that. Yeah, very cool. I love that.
Starting point is 00:04:17 And I'm sure the wiggles get 10 million requests all the time. And I'm sure the wiggles are rich too. Oh, yeah. I love the wiggles. Number four. Brandon and Renton, Washington have been the victim of a motorcycle theft in the past. So he jumped at the chance to go the air tag route to put one inside of his next bike. I have these, the Apple air tags.
Starting point is 00:04:36 You track them. wherever. Last week, his bike was stolen again. Oh. Huh. Where's he putting this bike to get stolen all the time? But he was able to track it down using the app, the Find My app. When cops found the bike, it was abandoned, but otherwise undamaged. Nice.
Starting point is 00:04:51 I've got one secretly hidden in all of you. What? You have no idea. I always know where you are. Number three. A TSA worker at Dulles Airport near D.C. saved a ground hog that ran out on the runway. It was over 100 degrees, so he was more worried about the heat than anything. He had a background
Starting point is 00:05:07 animal control so he knew what he was doing he went out got it so cute made sure no plans were going to run him over wow and released it at a nearby creek that's awesome number two a canadian man rollerbladed six thousand miles across the country to raise awareness of bee conservation and broke the world record here he is explaining why he did it i'm rollerblading from coast to coast all the way across canada baby why you ask for the bees baby all the foods we like to eat Not only do they pollinate one and every three bites of food that we eat, but they're a huge part of the global economy. Once again, for the bees, baby. For the bees, baby.
Starting point is 00:05:49 Number one. A North Carolina woman who's been on the transplant list waiting for a kidney for more than five years is finally getting it. Katrina Paskill has tried everything to find a donor. She found an anonymous donor on Facebook who stepped up and she gets a new kidney in October. Wow. That's crazy. I just wouldn't trust Facebook. Oh.
Starting point is 00:06:09 You never know. I'd be like, do they want some kind of check? That's an amazing story. These people that donate organs anonymously, man, good for them. And good luck. And I hope she gets her kidney and lives a long and happy life. That was the good news countdown. On the phone is Jim in Pennsylvania.
Starting point is 00:06:32 I have a challenge for you. A peanut butter and pickle sandwich. Well, you're out. Well, I don't eat peanut butter, but why is it just because it's gross? Because I can combine gross things, or is there something about... No, no, no. Because this is the thing here where I just moved into York County, Pennsylvania, and it's the thing here that people eat this here. I don't like peanut butter.
Starting point is 00:06:59 This is not a challenge for me, because I'm not into it. It doesn't sound fun to me. If anybody wants to try a peanut butter pickle sandwich, I'm happy to make them one. No, I don't like pickles. I love pickles. It sounds gross. Does anyone like peanut butter and hate pickles? I do.
Starting point is 00:07:12 I like pickles and hate peanut butter. I like them both. But you won't do it together? It sounds nasty, but if you want me to eat it, I'll eat it. See, and that's not fun when someone wants to do something. Hey, we appreciate the effort, Jim, but we're not really drawn to this one. I'll put up $50. Oh, $50.
Starting point is 00:07:31 Well, lunchbox doesn't mind doing it for free. He said $50, I'll do it. It'd be funny or Bobby did it because he hates peanut butter. I will not do it. $50. I'll follow it. Pickles and peanut butter now. Hey Jim, thank you for the call, bud.
Starting point is 00:07:44 All right, let's go over and open up the mailbag. You send an email and we read it all the air. It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Yeah. Hello, Bobby Bones. I recently returned to the office. I've already made a huge mistake. I saw a coworker.
Starting point is 00:07:58 I haven't seen it a year and a half. And I asked her when she was due. She's not pregnant. You can't do that. She just stood there looking hurt and confused. and I felt awful. I guess she just gained weight during the pandemic
Starting point is 00:08:12 and I jumped to conclusions before thinking it through. Now, I don't know what to say to her and I feel like everyone in the office will think I'm a jerk. How can I recover from this? Signed, Mortified in Montana. Yeah, that's a bad situation.
Starting point is 00:08:26 I hate that for you. I don't know about recovering, right? There are only two things you can do from this. You can apologize. Hey, I am so sorry. I've got you a little gift. And then just hope eventually she forgives you.
Starting point is 00:08:37 or you hide from her for the rest of your life. Those are really the only two options. And the second one's much more difficult. I would suggest the first one. You say, hey, I was an idiot. You have to just take this on. I was an idiot. I should not have said that.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Please accept my apology. And I got you a little gift card to Starbucks to just say, I'm sorry. There's nothing I can say except I'm an idiot. That's all you can do. Because anything else, you can't halfway it. Oh, lighting, angle. Oh, I'm also, I've also put on a few. None of that works.
Starting point is 00:09:11 It doesn't help. This is one of those where you got to wear the blanket. You have to wrap yourself in the blanket. Go, say I'm sorry. Or you quit your job moving in another state. Those are the two options. That's it. I think we're all given opportunities in life to learn.
Starting point is 00:09:26 And I think that this is a learning experience where you learned. Like, we just, we don't need a comment on people's bodies. And you can even say to her like, hey, you know what? I learned something. Like, I'm going to now stop. making comments about people's bodies. If I walked in a room and there's a woman with their feet
Starting point is 00:09:43 and stirrups and the head coming out, how's your day, ma'am? I ain't saying anything about her having a baby. That is a dangerous situation unless they bring it up first. They have to bring it up first. There has to be a blanket recovery statement,
Starting point is 00:09:59 though, after you do make a mistake of that. Yeah, I'm sorry, I was an idiot. I shouldn't have said that. Immediately? Or anytime. It's better than no time. Yeah, yeah, I mean, he's mortified First of all, it could be a she.
Starting point is 00:10:11 Oh, she, yeah, you're a she. I was just assuming as a guy. Me too, you're bad, idiots, but let us say that you're not alone in doing this. No. People have done it. It stinks.
Starting point is 00:10:22 You can probably repair it. Just go and apologize. That's the end. Close it up. We got your email and we read it on the air. Now it's about to close. Bobby's mail back. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:36 I'm looking at the end. invoice here, which is what makes this story so good. Back in August 18th, a couple known as Doug and Deidre hosted a wedding reception. Apparently, a couple decided not to show, but they
Starting point is 00:10:51 had to pay for the food for everything, and it was equaled up to $120.20 a piece. So they invoiced people who didn't show up because they had RSP. I have the invoice here. It's amazing. Once the invoice hit social media, it became a popular discussion.
Starting point is 00:11:07 people are saying how tacky it is to invoice or how rooted it is to no show RSDP. Here you go. Notes. This invoice is being sent to you because you confirm seats at the wedding reception during the final headcount. The amount above is the cost of your individual seats because you didn't call your proper notice that you wouldn't be in attendance. This amount is what you owe us for your seat in advance. Food. You can pay zeal or PayPal.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Reach out to us when you know what method works for you. quantity two unit price 120 bucks total amount due $240. That's funny. Now, ask someone who just had a wedding. We had a couple people that just didn't show up. Said they were coming. Just didn't show up. Who?
Starting point is 00:11:52 First person, glad you asked. Yeah, right. Oh, I thought you about today. I saw. I saw it. I saw it. I saw two seats where I was like, huh, where are they? That's weird.
Starting point is 00:12:01 Names are right there. I write the name down to the main. person because I don't know if it's the same person because maybe somebody else didn't show up. Oh, well I don't want to rat anybody out. I'll rat. I'll have one. I'll rat. I mean, he's our friend. Let me see. Let me see. Bobby's vision.
Starting point is 00:12:17 Yeah, yeah, you're holding up a blind guy. Yeah, yes, yes. That's one. That's the one I'm thinking of. That's who I have. No. Oh, no, that's a... Andy's wife, Brooklyn had a... Hold on. Andy's wife Brooklyn had a... He had it worked. Yeah, Lentzwell. Amy, what you write down?
Starting point is 00:12:31 No, that was Eddie. Hold on. I'll say this. I'm going to stick up for her why she wasn't there. She does a show on Netflix Grace and Frankie. She was in COVID Protocol. And they're older on that show. Older cast members. Yeah. And so she called it and was like, I'm so sorry they've moved our shooting date. So she was cleared.
Starting point is 00:12:50 You could feel bad about that lunch. Eddie, that was you. Eddie, that was you. That is the one I got. Okay, everybody hits the same one. Yeah, yeah. Who's that? Let me see. Oh, yeah. And I even told you you should find them. What? No. I sent by me. Was there a reason?
Starting point is 00:13:05 I don't know. I haven't heard from him. No reason I didn't even know. I saw it. We had special made cups for everybody with their names on it and the whole thing. And he never showed up for it. And I saw his cup. There were some cups that were not used because some people just went to the wedding.
Starting point is 00:13:19 The wedding and couldn't do the reception. Right. But yeah. Like I get, I'm not going to invoice him. No. And I think that. But this invoice is funny and I agree with it. No way.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Are you still friends with people that send you an invoice? Because they don't care to be friends with them Are you friends with someone that in no call, no shows at your wedding? Or do you pay for them? Who knows what the reason is as to why someone didn't make it there? But it's just like, I think that's the price you pay for throwing a wedding. Our official decision, invoice is funny and good or invoice is bad and funny. Okay, it's funny either way.
Starting point is 00:13:55 All right. Invoice good, invoice bad. Bad and funny. Bad, bad. Bad. Oh, I think it's bad. Taki. It's a bad.
Starting point is 00:14:03 Good and funny. Do you think they should pay the money back? I think they should absolutely pay the money back. It's sort of like... No, it's like you go to a restaurant, right? And sometimes they make you put a credit card down to hold your reservation. If you don't show up, guess what they do? They charge your credit card.
Starting point is 00:14:17 It's only like Valentine's Day. It's the same thing, though. This is like Valentine's Day. Yeah, well, then I'm not coming to your wedding. You obviously weren't coming either way. I think it's bad, but also think a little bit of our relationship is broken because you didn't show up or if you didn't tell me why. And how gets the gift you got me? I need to look at that too.
Starting point is 00:14:33 Yeah, all that. Oh, factor that in. I mean... Let me ask this to it. I'll be quick about it. We got a lot of gifts. We barely started opening them. A little bit.
Starting point is 00:14:40 We try to get a little bit done each day. We've got some really cool personalized gifts that people made us. Like Caroline Hobby brought a painting over that she had it made for us. It's amazing. I saw it. Really cool.
Starting point is 00:14:52 Yeah, it's kind of different, but it's really cool of like something from the wedding. There are other friends of ours from back home made some really cool stuff. But occasionally we get something that was made just terrible. I mean, and I'm like I say what it is or who got it. But it was like, we'll never, what do we do with it if we're never going to use it?
Starting point is 00:15:07 And it was like, custom made. You throw it away. Well, you don't have to throw it away. But where do you put it? Goodwill. You can't goodwill it because someone don't get a... Yeah, yeah. Do you have like an attic or a closet?
Starting point is 00:15:17 Why would I put something in stores I'm never going to need? No, that's a way, Stammy. I'm just saying, for now, you're in a sensitive time frame. I like that answer. Later, you can figure something out, but during this time, you put it away. And you have closet space. And you have closet space somewhere. Invoice bad.
Starting point is 00:15:34 Throwing stuff away eventually after storage. Good. Bonfire. This is a bad move for the invoice. Yes. Okay. Don't invoice. There you go.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Glad we could talk about that, friends. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan No. 2. 30 Second Skinny. Ryan Hurd announced that his debut album will be out on October 15th. It's called P. Lago and he shared a new song from the project called June, July, August. Luke Colmes talks about his new song South Anya being used for the SEC Network's game of the week. I'm super thankful for that. I'm super thankful for Marty for doing that. He didn't have to do that.
Starting point is 00:16:11 And it's just awesome. It's just awesome to be able to say that it's going to be used all over the SEC Game of the Week and SC Network. I'm just lucky, man. That's really great. I hope you guys love it. Hardy talked about his recent proposal to his girlfriend and the special place. went down. I decided to do it in Oxford, Mississippi. There's a venue there called The Lyric. It's like a small 800 to a thousand cap venue. And that's where she and I met around four years ago. I'm Morgan number two. That's your skinning. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good. A soldier with the U.S. Army Task Force Oceana, saved a toddler who was drowning. Sergeant Anthony Tunstall was at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii with a team of
Starting point is 00:16:59 soldiers when the boy, the son of an employee, was found in a lagoon. There was no movement in the kid's body. They pulled him from the water. He's also a trained EMT. According to the army, he put the kid down, put his body in the right spot, did CPR on the tot, stabilized him, got him breathing just enough to when the paramedics arrived, they could take him and do the rest of the work. Amazing. But again, they say went from a lifeless body to now, he back. He back. I mean, crazy.
Starting point is 00:17:32 You see a kid, I think I'd freak out. I'd be like, help. But no, you're the one that should help because you have trained. Yeah, EMT. I'd still freak out. That's a great story. Sergeant Anthony Tunstall, you're a good dude. You're a lifesaver.
Starting point is 00:17:43 That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. On the Bobby Bones show now. Nico Moon. Nico, what's up, buddy? How you doing? Pretty good regrets on the new record. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:17:55 I'm so excited. This was two and a half years in the making. I wrote every song on there with my wife. We made it at our house at my recording studio at home. So this is truly like from our family to everybody. Let me play a clip of Good Time, a number one from Nico that people may know. So why does this take two and a half years? because I can't help but fiddle
Starting point is 00:18:27 and I just wanted it to be absolutely perfect and I wanted to make an album that you could put on in front to back it was just good vibes the kind of album you put on when you're hanging out with your friends on your deck or you're out by some water or something
Starting point is 00:18:44 and you just want to set the good time no pun intended mood you know I was listening to the record and then I looked at track 14 and not to contradict what you said but I guess 13 of the songs you wrote. Yeah, there's one on there that I didn't. But it's like the greatest good time song of 90s country, which is Travis Tritt, Great Day to Be Alive.
Starting point is 00:19:05 So why did you choose this song to put on the record? I'm calling it my inspiration track. And it's a tradition. I'm starting with my first album. I'm going to do it with every album that I make, where I'm going to have one song on there that's an artist in a song that really inspired me to fall in love with music, to want to do music.
Starting point is 00:19:23 and Travis lives about 15 minutes from where I grew up. So as a kid, you know, I'd see him around town sometimes. He was someone that was from where I was from that did it and made it. So he made the dream real. And this is by far my favorite Travis Tritt song. Daryl Scott wrote it. I'm a big Daryl Scott fan. And every time I hear it, it just puts me in a good mood.
Starting point is 00:19:45 So I thought it was perfect for the album. Do you play that live at all? Oh, yeah. You play this little verse and chorus of Travis Trit? Great day to be alive? Yeah. You guys want to hear it? Nico mood?
Starting point is 00:19:53 Yes. Here we go. Here we go. I got the rice cooking in the microwave. Got a three-day bed. I ain't scared to shave. It's a goofy thing, but I just got to say, yeah, I'm doing all right. I think I'll make me some homemade suit.
Starting point is 00:20:12 Feeling pretty good, and that's the truth. Yeah. It's neither a drink or drug. And do you know, I'm just doing all right. And it's a great day. to be alive. I know the sun's still shining when I close my eyes. There's some hard times in the neighborhood.
Starting point is 00:20:31 Why can every day be just this good? Come on. Nico Moog. Will you do that at your shows, too? Yeah, I do it at the shows. And I didn't want to make it like a carbon copy of what he did because he did it his way and he killed it. I wanted to like pay homage to him,
Starting point is 00:20:51 but also do it my way, you know, and reimagine it. You mentioned that you and your wife wrote all these songs together. And, you know, she's an artist and a songwriter as well. But you originally met her on social media, right? Like I said, hey, come. Is that true? You come to a show? Is that how you guys met?
Starting point is 00:21:08 We met on Facebook. Okay. I didn't want to say Facebook because, you know, who knows? She friended me, and then I slid on the DMs and invited her out. I was playing bars at the time, and I invited her out. to a show to watch me play. She came to the show. I thought we was going to hang out after I play, you know, go sit at the bar and get to know each other. She came to me and was like, hey, great show. Give me a call some time. You take me out on a real date. We'll see you later.
Starting point is 00:21:33 And then she left. I was like, okay, okay. How long until you knew she was the one? Pretty much immediately. Why? It was really quick because the way we got on with each other was so natural. I didn't feel like there was that normal kind of, you got to be some. You're best version of yourself and then slowly they get to know the real you i felt like i was just being my authentic self from the beginning with her and we laugh like the whole time constantly and to me that's my favorite part about us and i feel like what kind of is uh what gets us through you know all this time we've been together we've been together almost 10 years uh it's just the fact that we keep it light and we laugh a lot wow so he was on you're on the early end of sliding into dms
Starting point is 00:22:18 because that was not a thing 10 years ago oh yeah she friended him first. So it wasn't so much of a slide. It was kind of a response to her going, hello. Yeah. So I want to give Niko, I want Niko to be the big slider here. It was kind of equal here. Let me ask you this. Yeah, you put the record out. You have the new single, which is Paradise to Me. Like, would you play a little bit of that for us? Yeah, you got it. All right, so Niko Moon has a record. You're going to hear him play today. And you're going to think, I sure would like to hear some more from this guy. So go check out his album that he just put out this past Friday called Good Time. And this is the new. And this is the new.
Starting point is 00:22:51 song that's going to radio called Paradise to Me. Here he is, Nico Moon. Got a three-day weekend and everybody's loating it up with my ray bands on and a eddy in the back of the truck. I'm riding shotgun playing DJ, Nixon Willie and Hank with some yin-yang. Got the windows down and the speakers turn all the way up. Yeah, we like, oh, we ain't got to take it too far from home. Little bit of heavens just down the road
Starting point is 00:23:29 Where we can lay back open up a cold one and take it slow I like pinia colitis down in PCB But give me that whiskey and cola eat that old pine tree Ain't nothing wrong with that white sand and some ocean breeze Right now this lake Run view is paradise to be. Nico mood. That's a new one right there.
Starting point is 00:24:03 All right, the record is out now. We're going to come back with more Nico in a second. Moon, you probably know this song Good Time, which was the number one for Nico. That I can't stop singing. And I wasn't meaning to be insulting during the break there, but this song played on the way out of commercial, and I was like, great, now I'll never be able to
Starting point is 00:28:37 stop singing it. That's a, that's a catchy song, man. Thank you. Have you been able to play it out, like big show, big show yet? Like, you've done the La Dea stuff yet? Yeah, so I'm about a month into the Lady A tour. Yeah. And it's been amazing because when it came out, you know, is when live music stopped. Literally, like, the week it came out was, when live music stop. So my first experience is playing a good time for everybody has just been over the past month and it's been amazing. Pretty cool to hear them all singing back? Yeah, I get chills every time. I want to play from Nico's new record, a little clip of a song I really like. It's track five. It's called Dance With Me. Here's a clip. I'll tell you why I like this song. I like a lot of the song. I love this
Starting point is 00:29:45 song. But I want to tell you why I love this song. First of all, I love a sappy song. I love a sad song. I love a Sappy song. I love that. I love that there's like, you know, your electric drums, there's also like a steel guitar in there, which is pretty much, that pretty much personifies you as an artist. You grow up in Georgia, you have all these country music influences around you, but you're right down the road from Atlanta, so you get a lot of that. I feel like that's in that song, like all of that. Am I wrong? Tell me I'm wrong. You're right. I'm right. I knew it. I love being right. That song, you wrote that with your wife and you wrote that with Josh Murdy. When you go to write that song and you sit in a room,
Starting point is 00:30:20 Does somebody have the idea on their phone? Like, okay, I've been thinking about the song, dance with me. Like, how does that happen? Yeah, usually the way I like to write is it all starts with the idea. To me, the idea is really half the song. Once you get the idea, you're 50% there. How you got to do is write it now, you know? And then once the idea is there, then you start kind of fiddling around with a chord progression
Starting point is 00:30:44 that feels like the idea. And so we were talking about how, with that, That song, Love a lot of times can be like gambling, where there comes a point where you got to go all in, let your cards on the table and say, hey, I like you. What do you think? And it can be nerve-wracking, you know? So that's why the metaphor of the gambling and everything is in there, you know, come on take a chance with me, you know. You know, I may not be a gambling man, but tonight I'm liking my eyes, you know, all those. little lines in the song. And so yeah, you start with the music. And then once you get the music
Starting point is 00:31:24 there, then you go with, I like to go with hum and melodies. That also feels like the idea. Because everything, the music, the melody, the lyric, they all have to feel like the idea or else the song will sound confused. And then last is lyrics. Last is lyrics. Wow. That's my, that might be my favorite song on the record. That's awesome. Because I just like all of that together. Like the you'd almost say the juxt position of everything beside each other, but they're together of like the steel, but then the
Starting point is 00:31:53 yeah, you know, pedal still is probably the most country maybe it's vying with the banjo for like the most country sound and instrument you can think of, you know? So that up against the 808s, I think you know, creates a really cool sound. You guys, check out his record.
Starting point is 00:32:10 It is called Good Time. You know, you're such a prolific songwriter and I have some other songs that you wrote if you don't mind. I'd like to maybe you, you know, tinker around for a little bit for us here. Let's do it. You have your guitar. You co-wrote Dirk Spently Gone, which went number one. And so
Starting point is 00:32:26 do you write that for you? Or do you write that with people going, let's see who likes it? When I started right, I always have a mind whether or not I'm writing for myself or not. So for that one, it was definitely we were actually thinking of Dirk's when we wrote that.
Starting point is 00:32:43 And so when Dirk's actually likes it, are you like, oh, we still get it? We're in the game still Yeah Every time I write a song That you know that does well I'm like I'm always nervous I'm like was that the last good one I'm ever going to write
Starting point is 00:32:55 You know And then you know Someone like Dirk's comes along and gets the song You're like I still got it You know Can we hear a little bit of gone Who was this song was put number one by Dirk Spently But Nico's a co-writer on the song
Starting point is 00:33:08 Here we go Took a trip down memory lane Checked into hotel Heartbury Pass rock bottom on the way Without leaving my living room I've been a million places But they're all up in my head
Starting point is 00:33:28 We're drinking over thinking Ever since you left I've been gone I've been gone I've been sitting on the couch watching TV All day long All day long I've been trying to figure
Starting point is 00:33:46 How good thing went wrong Passed in that freight train Fothered in that airplane Saturday in a country song Heading down that highway Anywhere but my way Ever since you moved on Hi Pets on
Starting point is 00:34:03 Nice, nice, nice Nico Moon Your voice is so distinct What's the warm up? You're about to go on stage in 20 minutes Nico To the stage 20 minutes What are you doing in the room right then?
Starting point is 00:34:13 Man, I feel like I'm always On the verge of going horse at all times just because I got a naturally really scratchy voice. So I got to like super take care of it. So I'll like steam my voice. I got this little handheld steamer that I'll use for like 10 minutes just to like
Starting point is 00:34:28 get my vocal cords nice and hydrated. Drink a lot of water during the day. I probably drink a gallon of water throughout the day. And then before I go on I do this thing called the straw technique which is you take like a coffee straw, really small straw and you do your vocal warmups
Starting point is 00:34:44 like you would normally do like, ah, like, you know, you've heard people do vocal worms, but you do it through a straw and it pushes the air back into your throat and it makes warming up a lot easier. So that's a little trick of the trade. Is it true that you eat lays chips to help your voice though?
Starting point is 00:35:03 Yeah, that's another trick of the trade. But why? I like that trick better. That'd be more than my alley. Because the grease and the potato chips coach your throat and makes it easy. you know because you want a little coat in there so a lot of times in the studio
Starting point is 00:35:21 if my voice is feeling a little too scratchy you know don't get the pringles you know don't get the bait the bait lays you got to get the old school greasy ones you know Eddie and I were talking last weekend we were playing the New York State Fair and we were talking about you we both just think you're such a great song right around
Starting point is 00:35:37 artist but we were talking about you and when you play homegrown which you're one of the writers of Zach Brown made that a massive song. Like, we love your version of it. And we were just like, man, when Nico plays homegrown, it feels like a different song even though it's the same song. Because it's just, I mean, it's Nicoed, right?
Starting point is 00:35:57 When you wrote it, because I'd like for you to play a version. You have a trademarked that. Boom, you've been Nico. When you, does the work tape sound like your version? Yeah. Yeah, it was originally written that way. And then I brought it, I brought it to Zach. You know, I wrote it about my hometown, and I brought it to Zach, and he loved it.
Starting point is 00:36:17 And it didn't have a bridge, though, because he's so good at writing bridges. So I brought him the song. I had the verses in the course, and then he thought out that amazing bridge. It's the way that you carry from the things you think you want, which is such a great thought. And then when he got in the studio with the band, you know, they started amping it up. Just, you know, you want to try all the – throw paint on the wall and just try different ways of doing it and see which way works the best. And when they amp it up and really rocked it out, it just sounded really cool. So they went with their gut, and I'm glad they did.
Starting point is 00:36:47 I think it sounds awesome. Yeah, that version sounds awesome. We like your version, too. I like what you're doing. It's all good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Would you play homegrown the version of course of that for us? Sure.
Starting point is 00:37:02 I got a piece of land out in the country. I'm like, lay back and smell the sun. that Georgia pine and it feels so good to be taking it easy why would I ever leave because I know I got some good friends that live down the street I got a good-looking woman where the arms round me here in a small town where it feels like home I got everything I need and nothing that I don't home Homego Homego
Starting point is 00:37:51 Home girl Home girl Home girl Nice Nico Moon So good He's got a new record out called Good Time
Starting point is 00:38:08 I want to play one more song that I really like I want to play It'll be track 12 Ray Drunk over you This is Nico Moon Here you go
Starting point is 00:38:16 For some reason It's just wasted time I'm making through Hanging on by Thrift For some reason As happy as you are And I like to be around you
Starting point is 00:38:42 You're sad songs Like the emo stuff is what gets me with this record. Yeah, I'm coming out with my feelings on that one, man. We're super pumped you came in. I hope our audience here goes and checks out Good Time, the record. They may know Good Time, the single already. But, you know, it's 14 tracks. And that 14th track is a cover of Travis Trick,
Starting point is 00:39:02 great day to be alive, which I thought was a really cool little song to put on there because we love that song. I mean, your version's fine, but like the real song. Your version is good. I'm just giving you a hard time. I'm giving you a hard time. You can't hear it.
Starting point is 00:39:13 Without being happy, you know, you hear Travis sing that song, and it's just like, man, everything's going to be all right. So you text me from Little Rock, Arkansas, where I'm from? You said, where do I eat? That's a hard question. When someone goes, I'm in a city, where do I go? So I send you to hideaway pizza, which is an Oklahoma pizza place. Fantastic.
Starting point is 00:39:30 Right? That's right. Wait for it. Anytime we're in Oklahoma or Little Rock, we go over there too. So, hey, great to see you. Just a good dude. So happy the album's out, because it's really good. I hope our listeners check it out.
Starting point is 00:39:42 and you'll keep doing what you're doing. People love having you around. You walk in the room, everybody gets happier. Hey, that's the goal right there, you know. Life is short. Nico Moon, follow him at Nico Moon on Instagram. Check out Good Time, the Record. And his new song is Paradise to Me.
Starting point is 00:39:59 The brand Belenziaga has put out a new sweater, and it looks like this sweater's been eaten by moths and then thrown in the dryer. And how much is it? $1,400. I mean, it looks like complete garbage. It's called Destitute. Crueneck.
Starting point is 00:40:13 Oh. The controversial garment is actually made from 100% virgin wool. Does that mean that... Yes, they hadn't done it. No, it can't. It's like, because it's not virgin olive oils, like they haven't done it. Olives had not done it. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:40:28 Although you could, I mean, this sweater looks awful. Someone's going to buy it. Yeah, for sure. Lots of people are probably going to buy it. People... This doesn't even look like it's done for fashion. It just looks like it's a bad old sweater. See a picture of it?
Starting point is 00:40:42 Let me read about virgin. Virgin wool. Virgin wool. Net wool not used before in manufacture. Oh, so it's first time used. This is brand new wool. I'm using secondhand wool sometimes on new clothes. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:40:57 Look at that. Here's Amy's pile of stories. Okay, so this guy has sparked a debate on the internet for what to do when you're checking out of hotels. So I want your opinion. What he does is he strips his bed before he leaves. leaves the room and folds it up nicely at the foot of the bed so that it's easier on the housekeepers. Thoughts on this.
Starting point is 00:41:20 What's wrong with people? No, I strip the bed, but I don't fold it. Yeah. But you do strip it? Of course. Oh. What do you mean? Like you take the sheets off and everything?
Starting point is 00:41:29 And I'm going to tell you why. I would hope someone would do that for me. I'm not the one making the bed, but I want fresh bed. And I don't want there to be a risk of someone just going, nah, it looks clean. We'll leave it for the next people. So I do take the bed off. And most, when they do their job, they do put new bedding on. And I just want to make sure that next person isn't getting the old rope dope
Starting point is 00:41:48 with the same sheets I was on. Wow. But I don't fold it up, my bad person? Well, no, no, no. I think stripping it is just the point he happens to fold it up at the foot of bed. Some people online are like, whoa, this is weird. I've never done this. Some people are like you.
Starting point is 00:41:59 They're like, yeah, but some housekeepers have chimed in. And they say this is actually awesome and super helpful to strip the bed. And what's annoying for them, they say, is sometimes when people make the bed. like they get out and they feel like they're trying to be nice, tidying up the room, and they make the bed. And then that's more work. It's like, don't make it. We're going to be stripping it anyway.
Starting point is 00:42:17 Just leave it messy. My grandma and I used to clean condos at a resort after people would leave. And it was great. We changed the bedding out all the time. So we loved it when they pulled them off. And sometimes when the sheets are wrapped into each other, like that little, the one, the crinkle one that fitted one, and it's wrapped into the yellow.
Starting point is 00:42:33 And that's annoying. So please pull them apart, even if you lay the, now I'm advocating for them. Yeah. And then another good thing to remember, which I am not good at this, but I want to start remembering to do it every time, is leaving a little tip for the housekeepers if you can.
Starting point is 00:42:46 If you have changed a couple bucks. Leave it there. Yeah. All right, what else? So a Florida woman, she faked her pregnancy to her company, even had fake doctor's notes. She said that she had a high-risk pregnancy, so she needed to stay home.
Starting point is 00:43:00 And that's how she was providing these notes from her quote-unquote doctor about all these illnesses. So she needed to stay home. And so she got paid leave, but she never was. pregnant. Yeah, that's not good. But what's funny is I have a couple friends that have worked in education.
Starting point is 00:43:17 And they say that not now, but last year, there were teachers going, I've been exposed to COVID. I'm out for a while. And they couldn't prove it yes or no. And they just always had paid time off. And three different people I've told me that. All you had to do was go. I've been exposed to COVID.
Starting point is 00:43:33 And maybe they were telling the truth sometimes, but they were like, it was so often and so many teachers, we don't think that was the case. Well. Yeah, that's bad. She's a bad person. Yeah, she said, okay, first of all, I told you, said she had a high-risk pregnancy. Then she told her work she was pregnant with twins.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Then she said she had to have... It's just a lie, you got to keep up with a long time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You got to do Instagram videos with babies. They get to borrow babies or get dolls. Yeah, so what happens to her? She had two emergency surgeries and a cesarean. She fired?
Starting point is 00:43:58 Yeah, she definitely has... I think she was arrested for grand theft, for allegedly defrauding her employer because they gave her $17,000 in extra benefits because of all of this as well. And I don't think she was at work for like a year. I don't think she knew. that was coming. I think she probably thought
Starting point is 00:44:12 worst case she gets fired. So anybody that heard us talking about this and they're like, hmm, maybe it was a good idea. It's not. Well, we ain't stopping them. If they were already thinking about it. What else you got? Well, some guy used a message board at a baseball game not to propose to his girlfriend, but to break up with her.
Starting point is 00:44:29 Wow. So sad. That's not cool. That's got to be a stunt. It says it was a minor league baseball game in Ohio. A guy named Tim paid $5. Because you don't go to the game with someone to break up with them publicly. I saw one though that was like, hey, will you please talk to me? Because he knew she was at the game. Oh, that's cool. And he wasn't.
Starting point is 00:44:48 I knew that one wasn't a stunt because he was like, hey, please stop ignore my calls. Give me a call if you can. That wasn't a stunt because she was there with her family. That sounds like a stunt to me. Who puts on the stunt, the baseball team? Yeah, of course. The rubber ducks? Read me. Yes. So people talk about. Read it to me. A man, quote, named Tim, paid
Starting point is 00:45:04 $5 for a seventh inning message at an Akron, Akron, sorry, rubber ducks game earlier this week that read. Alyssa, this relationship is over. Tim. If she's there with him, that's, you still got to get a ride home. It's stupid. It's all fake. And $5? There's no
Starting point is 00:45:21 way. They charge more than $5. I don't know. The Ackin number ducks, I do give a good deal. There was 3,600 fans in attendance. So, yeah. That's fake. Okay. Is that it? Yeah, maybe. That's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With Amy.
Starting point is 00:45:37 Tell me something good. So there's a TikToker known as Seattle TechBro, and he's got some amazing followers that have eagle eyes because they noticed that his thyroid looked a little enlarged in some of his videos. And they suggested he go to a doctor and get it checked out. And turns out doctors say, sure enough, there's something in there and there's a 95% chance that it's cancer. So we need to either remove your thyroid completely or at least remove this nodule. So he opted for the surgery to remove part of it to get taken out, and he is recovering. Ours all of it to his followers. Which is crazy because I don't read my comments, because I know I'm just going to end up fighting with folks.
Starting point is 00:46:21 Yeah. Good for this guy. I know. He went in, reading his comments, and found out he was sick and could be fixed. Who knows what I have, the people have told me. Oh, yeah. I mean, it's always sitting in there. Now, I've got to read every comment today.
Starting point is 00:46:33 Save your life. All right, that's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Hope you guys had a great weekend. We're so pumped you back. You're hanging out with us. We love it. It's this time every morning that Amy tells a joke.
Starting point is 00:46:47 It goes like this. The morning corny. What's the highest rank in the popcorn army? What's the high... Yeah, yeah. I think we all got that one. Yeah, what's the highest rank in the popcorn army? Colonel.
Starting point is 00:47:05 Colonel. That's it. Thank you. That was the morning corny. We're very excited because on Saturday and Sunday of this weekend, Eddie and I, the Raging Idiots, are putting on two festivals. In New Bromville, Texas, between Austin and San Antonio, we have a big one there. That's on Saturday, the 4th.
Starting point is 00:47:23 And on Sunday, the 5th, we have one in Wichita, Kansas, and it's us, Russell Dickerson, Maddie and Tay. We have a whole side stage of major artists. Get tickets at Ragingididiotes.com. We love for you to come. It's this Saturday and Sunday. But this is Russell Dickerson. be playing right before us.
Starting point is 00:47:40 Erica in Iowa is on the phone. Erica, what's going on with you? Hi, so I was just calling today because I get married in exactly a month. And I know Mike D. just got married, and then I know you and Caitlin just got married.
Starting point is 00:47:55 And everyone else is married on the show. So I was just wondering, what is one thing I shouldn't be stressing about or worried about? Because there's like a million things going in my mind right now. Interesting. What's the one thing? We've all been married at this point.
Starting point is 00:48:10 It's pretty easy. What's the one thing she should not be stressing about? I will go first. If you already got chairs and napkins and that's just good. It's fine. Nobody cares. It's awesome if you get it right. But if you don't, it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:48:23 Stop stressing about that stuff. If you're having any sort of reception, you're like, we need this. We need a plaid napkin here. We need a nope. It's all good. Whatever you have, whatever happens happens. Don't stress about in the end. that stuff. Amy? Well, sometimes I get you're looking for input from others and sometimes
Starting point is 00:48:42 you'd rather not have it. But you, if you're a people pleaser, sometimes you're trying to take it all in. And I would just say, don't worry about what anybody else has to say or feel about decisions that you're making because it's your day. And like, you don't, when it, that could come to anything. Eddie, the guest list. Don't worry about who's not invited. I'm going to tell you that's not true, though. Oh, really? I forgot to buy like 30. people. But it's okay. But I was talking to a friend yesterday and I was like, oh my God, it's so good to talk to you. And I didn't invite him to the wedding. And I was like, oh my good. He just wasn't in my mind when I was making the list. Eddie, I don't know that I can
Starting point is 00:49:16 I thought about someone the other day too. Like, I wonder if Bobby invited them because I didn't see them at the wedding. I'm such an id with you might have forgotten them. I know. I know. But Eddie says, don't worry about that. But I say, dude, check it again. Lunchbox. Don't stress about any of it. Just have booze and everybody will be happy. That's all that matters. Is they're there to see you get married and drink. That's all they care about. They won't, in two weeks, they won't remember what the food was, the decorations. They won't remember anything except for the booze and that you said I do. Do you remember anything for my wedding?
Starting point is 00:49:45 The booze? The booze and the artist played, but I don't know. I mean, I couldn't tell you what color the tablecloth was. I couldn't tell you what the flower arrangements looked like. I don't know that stuff. That's what I'm saying. But like when she walked down the aisle, do you remember anything about that? Her dad was walking her.
Starting point is 00:50:02 That's good. You remembered. Is there anything else I was supposed to remember? No, I'm just asking. Remember the band at all? The wedding band? Oh, the wedding band? Yeah, they danced.
Starting point is 00:50:13 Yeah. I couldn't tell you. Remember the food at all? Oh, you remember the food. There was steak. Yeah. And was there potatoes? Yes.
Starting point is 00:50:22 Yeah, absolutely. Green beans. And crab cake. Crab cake. Crab cake. Asparagus, so I'm close. But yeah, so like I couldn't tell you what the lead singer of that band looked like.
Starting point is 00:50:32 No idea. I don't know. Well, they rotated, but... I remember the lead singer. He wore a blue suit. So, no one remembers anything about the wedding, except for the booze. We remembered everything. Ray Mundo, any advice you want to give her?
Starting point is 00:50:44 You just got married to. Do not worry about the schedule, the timing of events. Every wedding starts late. Boom. That's great. Oh, wow. But Ray's started really late. Yeah, I don't...
Starting point is 00:50:55 Oh, my goodness. Everything was late at Ray's. It was a transportation issue. And we were standing on the freezing cold. I don't... I don't think mine started. I don't think so. I think yours was on time.
Starting point is 00:51:06 I thought, weren't they like looking for your nephew? No, we found them in time. But we found them in time. They were just like, hey, we can't start until we find them. And then they found them. Yeah. I have no idea because I wouldn't have a watch. Because you don't remember anything about weddings.
Starting point is 00:51:15 No, I remember everything. I just didn't have my phone or wasn't paying attention in a time. Mike D. final piece of advice for her. I would say don't worry about the wedding cake. Like nobody really cares about it. True. We didn't have a wedding cake. We just had cookies.
Starting point is 00:51:26 Don't worry about it. That's good. Oh, yeah. Like you don't have to. You can have whatever dessert you want. But I'm actually still devastated. I didn't get to try your wedding cake. That's all I wanted.
Starting point is 00:51:36 Yeah, well, we didn't at that time either. But I know. I agree. Wedding cake's not that big of a deal. You put a lot of time into it and you want to look good and you're going to spend a bunch of money on it. And then it just goes away. I think the consensus is everything's going to be okay. Just get married.
Starting point is 00:51:48 Totally. That's it. Yeah. Everything's going to be okay, Erica. There's nothing you should worry. As long as your husband shows up, you're good. Even if it rained. a plan if it rained. We had all kinds of stuff.
Starting point is 00:52:00 And you know what? If it happens, it happens. And then it goes away and you go, remember that? And that was it. But, okay, we feel like we've given you some good advice that nothing really matters except for you and him and your love for each other. And the day will go as planned or not, but it'll be amazing either way. Okay. Thank you, guys. Thank you for the call. I hope you have a great day. Yeah. All right, bye-bye. Thank you, Bobby.

Starting point is 00:55:56 was sticking out of her shirt. A big, like our rice tag. Oh no. Like a big one. One of those cardboard ones that's like big. And Bones,
Starting point is 00:56:05 you didn't see it before you all up in? Yeah, did you know? You walked in behind me but I guess you were looking at your phone. And he has bad vision. But here's what I, I didn't know that was a tag tag.
Starting point is 00:56:15 I didn't know what it was. So you did see it. Well, I didn't know what it was. And I didn't want to grab it and be like, Is this a price tag? Yeah. But I didn't, until afterward, I didn't know you had a big price tag on your, why did you not take it off?
Starting point is 00:56:28 What do you mean? I didn't find out until I was leaving the building. But why was it there to begin with? Because I just was, I forgot. Like, it's a new shirt that I got and I just threw it on. Are you trying to take it back? No. Absolutely not.
Starting point is 00:56:40 Like, I love the shirt. I love it. No, that was, it was just like laziness, I guess. And then I forgot about it. Because I remember when you came in, I commented on it. I was like, hey, it's a cool shirt. Yeah. And I definitely am not taking a pad.
Starting point is 00:56:52 It's got cute little shoulder pads in it. It's a keeper. But I just forgot to take the tag off. And then I was embarrassed and nobody told me. So Amy posted on Instagram like, hey, what other embarrassing stuff's happened? Just like anything embarrassing. So listeners have sent their top five to Amy. All right, here we go.
Starting point is 00:57:07 Number five. I danced my sticky bra off while line dancing and it flopped to the ground in front of everybody. What's a sticky bra? Like one of those little boob things. It looks like a chicken cutlet and you kind of, stick it on top and it sticks unless it sweats off. I don't know that I would have known what that was on the ground. I didn't know.
Starting point is 00:57:26 Yeah, I think I'd have to spend like somebody dropped something. I pick it up. You announce it. Yeah, that's embarrassing. Number four. My underwear went flying out of my yoga towel at the studio because I didn't check it after it got out of the dryer. Whoa. That's funny. So it rolled up and then she laid her towel down and her underwear went flying.
Starting point is 00:57:46 That I would have known what it was. Number three. I wasn't feeling that well and walked up to my boyfriend, stuck my hand down his back pocket. Wasn't my boyfriend. Oh. Made his day, though. Wow.
Starting point is 00:58:02 That's a good. Number two. I accidentally handed the cashier a tampon instead of cash from my purse. That would mortify me. Not a big deal if it's a girl. Okay, fair. But if it's a 16-year-old boy checking you out, it's the worst. I won't even go buy tampon.
Starting point is 00:58:20 in a line with a boy. Yes. Number one. I tucked my dress into my thong accidentally, thong underwear, and walked back through the nice restaurant to my table. That would hurt. I bet no one noticed.
Starting point is 00:58:36 Okay. Every phone is going up behind her. Oh, that just would. Just don't feel alone and doing dumb things. Yeah, because, I mean, I had hundreds and probably even thousands of these. Yes. And I had to go through and I picked those. is the top five. You are not alone.
Starting point is 00:58:52 You guys heard the song? Yeah. I'll be there with you. No? Michael Jackson, you are not alone. I've heard that one. So far apart. Always in my heart. Yeah. Pretty good. Both are different. Yeah. All right. Thank you, Amy. On the phone is Scott, who is in San Antonio, which by the way, Eddie and I will be near San Antonio, New Bromples.
Starting point is 00:59:15 On Saturday this week, Bobby Fest. That's right. Hey, Scott, you coming or no? Yes, sir. Love it. Okay. Love it. Bobby Fest. White Water Amphitheater, New Bromples, Texas.
Starting point is 00:59:26 Okay. We're going to do never going to get it. If you win, you get some crap from the back. That's right. Or junk from the trunk. Or lots of prizes of different sizes. Ooh, I like that. Do we have the pack already gathered?
Starting point is 00:59:42 Can we have it gathered by the end of the bit? Because I'd like for him to know what he's playing for here. I left the key in my other jean pockets and they're at home. So I can't get in that closet. It's a miss. Mystery pack. Sorry. Okay, here we go.
Starting point is 00:59:54 Scott, we're going to play Never Gonna Get It. Here is the question. Are you guys ready? Yep. The average American woman spends six hours and 28 minutes doing this. But it doesn't happen that often. What is it? Six hours and 28 minutes.
Starting point is 01:00:09 I read it again. Hey, you know how this game is. In their life? I'll give it to you again. I know, but I'm just wondering the time. Yeah, I'll give it to you. I'll give it to you. Everybody do this.
Starting point is 01:00:17 Everybody is. I know, but it wasn't said. Hey, hey, everybody. I don't know if you're adding that. The average American woman spends six hours and 28 minutes doing this, but it doesn't happen that often. They don't have to do it that often. What is it?
Starting point is 01:00:30 I'm in. An average? It sounds, it doesn't sound like it's a cumulative thing. I mean, that's kind of a hint. The average American woman spends six hours and 28 minutes doing this, but doesn't have to do it that often. What is it? We have Scott on from San Antonio.
Starting point is 01:00:49 We have every player here on the show. Now, Scott will get a chance if he misses it, he gets to pick one of you guys. If you miss it, he goes to the coin toss. You said a word that I don't know. Cumulative? I don't know what that means. It's not part of this. if she did it for five minutes here and 12 minutes there, equal to six hours.
Starting point is 01:01:21 Oh, boy. What in the world could take that long? Exactly. All right, the average American woman spend six hours and 28 minutes doing this, but doesn't have to do it that off, and what is it? Scott, you get to give an answer first, Scott. And if you miss it, that's okay. Scott, what would you like the answer to be?
Starting point is 01:01:38 I'm going to say, do their hair. What in the world? Hey, leave Scott alone. Oh, sorry, Scott. Scott's coming to Bobby Fest Saturday. Yes, he is. So he's my friend, and so don't. All right, that's incorrect.
Starting point is 01:01:51 Oh, it is? Yeah. Now, Scott, you get to pick... Is that what you put, Eddie? Maybe. You can change it? I did hair color, but yeah. Oh, coloring, no, they do stay in there.
Starting point is 01:02:01 Yes. Like, sometimes if there's hair coloring, I see someone like on a Monday and I drive by on Thursday and they're just not walking out. That's impossible. And that's a true story. I didn't make that up at all.
Starting point is 01:02:10 No, no, no. Okay, so everybody here on the show's got a guess. Scott, you can go with Amy. How good do you feel about this? I feel really good. Lunchbox? I mean, I don't even understand a question. All right?
Starting point is 01:02:19 I got a good one. Ray? Yeah, I'm good. You want it? I'm so good that I need to go last. Okay, Scott, who would you like to play for you? I mean, let's go with Amy if she's going to last. Yeah, and I'm the woman here. You got to say. You are the woman. That's a fact. I can't argue with.
Starting point is 01:02:38 Yep. The average American woman spends six hours and 28 minutes doing this, but doesn't have to do it that often. What is it? Lunchbox? Wedding, dress, shopping. Ooh, that's a good one. Yeah. You act like you had a bad answer. not a bad answer. Honestly, at first I had
Starting point is 01:02:51 plucking eyebrows, but then you said that cumulative word, and I had to change it. Fucking eyebrows. But he also didn't go with it. Okay, yeah. Right. He didn't. But you spent seven hours shopping for wedding? That's not bad. I mean, I have no idea. But it doesn't have to do it that often implies to me
Starting point is 01:03:06 that it's something that does happen, at least more than once. Whatever your implication is, that's on you. You can read into those words. Okay. Eddie. Mine is getting ready for a date. What? Six hours. Oh my gosh. Shower. Pick out the clothes. the day with Drake. Someone special.
Starting point is 01:03:22 No, these guys... Ramundo. My wife doesn't take that long. I have Kids' Christmas presents. Out shopping for kids' Christmas presents. Yep, interesting. Takes no longer than that. Only women do that? That could work. Only women in America do that? Okay. Amy.
Starting point is 01:03:37 I almost put dishes. Okay. I have cooking a holiday meal. The average American almost spent six hours, 28 minutes doing this, but it doesn't have to do it that often. What is it? You say cooking That's not bad. That's really good, Amy. I do get in there in the kitchen.
Starting point is 01:03:52 And it's like when you say American, I'm thinking, it could be Thanksgiving. Okay, here we go. It's answer time. Scott, how do you feel about those answers? You think Amy got it or anybody got it? I think Amy's on the right track, yeah. I feel confident, yes. Lunchbox is your wedding dress shopping?
Starting point is 01:04:07 It's wrong. It's wrong. Okay. Eddie. Yes, it's wrong. You already getting their hair colored? Colored was one, but you said that's not right. So I said getting ready for a date.
Starting point is 01:04:16 Oh, wrong. Yeah, obviously. Ray, your Christmas presents, wrong. Oh. Amy, your holiday dinner, wrong. What? What in the world could it be? Oh, is it labor?
Starting point is 01:04:32 It is. Oh! Why didn't I think of that? It is. I don't give it to them anyway since I got it. We don't do that. We have a coin for the asset. You didn't get it.
Starting point is 01:04:40 I got it so close. You didn't get it. You didn't get it. And our lawyers tell me I can't just give prizes to people who don't win. because if I ever give it to somebody, if I don't give it to somebody who doesn't win ever, they're like, well, you gave it to everybody else. Don't do it that often. The average American woman spent six hours and 28 minutes doing this, giving birth. I hate when I choose the wrong thing.
Starting point is 01:05:00 Okay, so Scott, you have one more chance. We have the coin of death here. If it lands on what you call, you win the prize. If it doesn't, you die. Come on, Scott. So. Oh, Scott, good luck. We have a sniper standing by that you don't know where they are.
Starting point is 01:05:16 And if it doesn't land on the right one, oh, buddy. You see that red dot right now? Oh, no. Stop. That's awful. That's awful. You're trying to move. Amy, it's not true.
Starting point is 01:05:31 It's not true. We don't even know where Scott is. He could literally be calling from Wisconsin. I know, he's from San Antonio. I know, but we don't know. He's right by the Alamadome. He's on I-10, for sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:40 Definitely upper deck. Are you on I-10, Scott? I was. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Scott, heads or tails? What's that?
Starting point is 01:05:50 Heads or tails? Coin of death. Heads or tells. Hey, tails never fails, just like lunchbox never failed. Well, he felt just now. Here we go. It is.
Starting point is 01:06:03 Tails. Whoa. Hey, Scott, you won, buddy. That's awesome. I get street tacos today, buddy. That's nice. Hey, Scott, how do you feel? I feel wonderful.
Starting point is 01:06:17 I feel great. Oh, he's trying. Give him another run. Hold on. Hold on. Scott, you got it, buddy. How do you feel? I feel great.
Starting point is 01:06:26 I feel really, really great. Eddie, how do you feel? I feel good. Oh, I feel so good. And Scott is our winner. We give Scott to host enterprises. And Scott, we will see you on Saturday, buddy. All right, there he is.
Starting point is 01:06:38 It's time for the good news. With producer Eddie. Tell me something good. A unnamed New Jersey family was on vacation in North Carolina. Well, on the way back home, they're driving through Maryland, and they stop at a 7-Eleven, and Dad's getting gas. He says, you know what, let me
Starting point is 01:06:55 run it and get a lottery ticket real quick. So he buys a lottery ticket. Well, he doesn't check it until this week. This was two months ago. Well, this past week, he checks it. Guys, they won $2 million. I don't understand
Starting point is 01:07:13 not checking your ticket immediately, because I don't buy lottery tickets all the time. And if I buy one, I want to know Did I win? Did I win? Yeah. So when people go, they didn't check it until the last day that it was like, man, I would check mine probably that night. I would probably be like these people. Just wait. But would you throw it away probably?
Starting point is 01:07:29 Who knows? I just feel like I'd be like, oh yeah, I got a lottery ticket. Let me go check it out. But you'd have to go, do the Google search. Fine. And it's not easy to find. The wife said that they looked through the numbers and they saw it matched and they're like, wait, there's no way. So they downloaded the actual app so you can actually scan the ticket with your phone.
Starting point is 01:07:46 And it said winner. Then you have to protect it somehow. Yeah. Then all of a sudden that's the most, you know, sensitive, prize possession you have. Precious thing that could possibly exist. It's a good story. That's what it's all about.
Starting point is 01:07:58 That was tell me something good. Let's go over to the phones and talk to David in Texas. David, what's going on? Hey, Bobby. This is actually David and Gallatin. What's up, buddy? Hey, so I want a challenge you're never going to get it. Go ahead.
Starting point is 01:08:15 My wife was in labor for 24 hours. Yeah, that's tough. I mean, they're never going to get it with six hours on average. On average. So, yeah, you've got some people that take 20 minutes and some people that take 20 hours. Or days. Yeah. So for 24 hours, she was in labor.
Starting point is 01:08:33 And for all 24 of those hours, are you a stress ball or at some point where you're like, I'm just going to chill until it comes out? So it was a COVID baby. So I was the only one allowed in the room So her mom wasn't able to come So I'm sitting there I'm the only emotional support There was time where I was able to take a nap
Starting point is 01:08:56 And that was about it How long was that nap though? Because I don't feel like that I'd have been a good pure nap About an hour And then there was a lot of screaming Okay The screaming woke you from the nap Yep
Starting point is 01:09:09 And was she screaming to actually wake you Or because the baby was coming out No, her epidural had worn off Oh my god Sometimes I just want an epidural on a Monday If I could just get a Monday epidural Because I'm so tired from the weekend And not even from what I did
Starting point is 01:09:22 Just because I don't get good sleep on Sunday nights And David Do you know what an epidural is? Yeah, I stick in your back and they numb you Oh, okay Yeah, I would like to have that Oh, I didn't You don't think I know what epidural is?
Starting point is 01:09:33 Well, I don't know I'm curious now why you need your body numb From the waist down Because I'm tired Okay I don't ever sleep well Sorry David What's up?
Starting point is 01:09:43 They had to give her three epidurals throughout that period of time. Because it took so long, I'm assuming? Yeah. Yes, sir. Yeah, man. Well, that was not in theme with The Never Going to Get It, which was average of six hours, a 24-hour. But I appreciate you sharing that, and I'm assuming everything's okay. Baby's all good?
Starting point is 01:10:02 Yeah, I got a beautiful baby boy, David Oakley, who turns one in September 23rd. Did you do the gender reveal before you had the baby? We did, yeah, we did a baseball theme, so he's getting a little baseball cake. Whenever you hit, did you hit a balloon or something, and it popped, and it was like blue or pink? No, we did a baseball. Okay, so you hit a baseball. So you hit a baseball, so what about the baseball happened? Like, the baseball didn't pop or anything.
Starting point is 01:10:32 So how do you know it was? Yeah, no, it blew, it completely shattered. Nice. It's a shatter. It's a breakable baseball. Yeah, it's like a balloon. We're on the inside. So it's like I said, a balloon.
Starting point is 01:10:43 No, so it's blue. And you didn't know if it was going to be blue or pink, right? Nope, I did not. There was only one person, my sister-in-law. If you would have hit it, in your mind, would you prefer to girl over a boy or a boy over a girl? You know, I was back and forth. I always wanted a boy, and then within about two weeks, I was hoping for a girl. But now I got my little mini-me and I would not change it for the world.
Starting point is 01:11:12 Okay, buddy. I just wonder if you ever hit it. Let's say you're rooting for a girl and you get a boy. It's just hard to hide that face. You've seen those. If you're rooting for a boy and you get a girl either way. Like I've seen the moms be disappointed when it's a boy. I've seen the dads be disappointed when it's a girl. Yeah. That's why for me I think that would be risky. I would want to know. And then if I'm like, okay, now let's fake it and act like I don't know. And then let's light something on fire. Yeah. It'll be one of those. All right. Thank you. Hey, David. Congratulations, buddy. And thank you for the call. Thank you. All right, see you, ma'am. News time. Bobby's Big. Stories. I mean, part of the reason I'm so tired of stayed up late last night watching a lot of Ida footage, a lot of coverage.
Starting point is 01:11:55 Here are some things you need to know. Number one, Hurricane Ida made landfall around noon yesterday as a Category 4 hurricane. That's less than 100 miles from New Orleans is where it hit. Category 4 hurricanes have sustained winds between 130 and 156 miles per hour. It came very close to be in a Category 4th. In a tragic coincidence yesterday was the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Around 1 million people have been without power, including all of New Orleans, and flash flood emergencies have been declared.
Starting point is 01:12:26 I'd a week into a category 3 around 6 p.m. yesterday last night or so. Then it dropped to a category 2 around 9 p.m. last night. The storm surge was so intense yesterday that it stopped the flow of the Mississippi River near New Orleans and actually caused the flow to reverse, which is extremely uncommon. Overnight more than 200 people scrambled to get to higher ground after a levy failed in Jefferson Parish, about an hour outside of New Orleans. Last night, and this is the newest news that we have, the first death was reported. Someone was killed by a falling tree.
Starting point is 01:13:01 And obviously, this is a scary time for anyone who's medically impacted by the hurricane because the hospitals were already packed full with COVID patients. I mean, that part's devastating. They were so slammed with COVID patients It couldn't move them Yeah Honestly I mean I was watching things Like as needs start to roll in
Starting point is 01:13:18 They don't know really where they're even going to take them I mean just it's so Such a vulnerable time So here's what we're doing right now You know we have this line called Pippin' Joy We don't ever take a dollar Never take a cent from Pippin' Joy And if you would like something
Starting point is 01:13:35 All the money that we you know make from this goes to that. So we're going to work as of today and, you know, we pivot as we know what's needed. We don't even know right now where we're going to send that money, but what will happen over the next couple days, there will be needs where people go, hey, we need this. We need this for these people. And that's where we kind of hop in. But we don't want to sit here, even though we don't know exactly what to do and not do anything. So if you go to bobbybones.com, we'll put the link up. And if you want to get anything that is pimping joy up on the site, that will go. toward that. Yeah, I would say just know when you're, if you're wearing something, Pim and Joy,
Starting point is 01:14:12 it's about spreading joy to others. And that's exactly what, what we need to do right now. And just think if you were in this situation, like knowing that others across the country were rallying together to support you would feel pretty awesome. So that's what we can do. Yeah. So again, you want something? We're going to take all that money. And we're going to send it down. We're going to figure out what they need. Thank you, bobbybones.com. How about this? A California your mom fights off a mountain lion with her bare hands after she saw a dragon her five-year-old son across the front lawn.
Starting point is 01:14:43 Then the cat was shot and killed by a wildlife officer. But a mom fought a mountain lion. But you know what? I'm not even that surprised that a mom would fight the mountain lion because I think any mom would try to fight a mountain lion. That's right. I think any mom would try to fight anything that's got her five-year-old son.
Starting point is 01:14:56 You'd worry if she didn't. I think I was thinking about this. Like, what would I do if a big mountain lion? I think I would try to go with the headlock on... Because Stanley, my bulldog is strong. And if he comes at me, I have to Olai to the side and then go to the side and go over the top with the headlock. Like, if we're wrestling, because he goes hard. And it's hard to go straight in on a mountain line with two hands, like in a choking motion.
Starting point is 01:15:20 So you probably go beside it and headlock it and then punch it, give it the business until they let go of the kid. I was thinking about this too much last night. You think your arm could get around that head? I feel like it's a big head. I feel like that's the only way to do it unless you're just kicking it in the ribs. Oh, see, y'all are going the beat up apart I was going to try to soothe him Like I thought about this
Starting point is 01:15:41 You're gonna play Inya? No My cat please stand there I like to pull up my phone Who can say what's hey My cat really likes to be massaged in the temples And she just like melts when I do that Not whenever they want food
Starting point is 01:15:54 You guys are way off You gotta get a laser pointer And then that'll distract the cat But you gotta run in the house And by the time you run in the house It's gonna be gone I'm just saying carry one with you I went in the house
Starting point is 01:16:04 When that white ghost dog was in my yard, which I've talked about a few times now. There was this dog in my yard, big, massive, husky. It gets bigger every time. I'm telling you, it was pure white. It was as white as Santa Claus's beard. Wow, that's white. And you can't get it.
Starting point is 01:16:19 We have a gate of property. You can't get in my yard. Especially not an animal, maybe a squirrel. Deer sometimes jump over the fence and they're in the yard. But this was a crystal clear white husky. With red eyes. Red eyes? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:35 You haven't set that part yet. Well, because it's all coming back to me. And so I have a husky, and she sees this dog. And so to Stanley. And the husky's a puppy, so she doesn't listen that well. Yep, Stanley does. He's fine. And I said, Stanley's star.
Starting point is 01:16:47 He's, oh, right, right, right. And she's trying to get out and go. So I put her in the little room, shut the door, walk outside. The ghost husky's gone. Gone. Never saw it? Never saw it again. There's no chance that got out.
Starting point is 01:17:00 It only has come once. Ever. And if it was sending me a message, I just don't know what that message was yet. You check the security cameras? It wasn't on there. See, that's crazy. That's crazy. Yes.
Starting point is 01:17:09 We have cameras all over the property. You think I'm lying. You've seen cameras. Everywhere. I have cameras everywhere. You can't walk an inch without being seen by those cameras. Huh. I don't know what that ghost husky was trying to tell me.
Starting point is 01:17:23 Whatever it was, I still don't know. Could you have been hallucinating? What would I? Not on anything. On a protein bar? On life, aiming a smoothie? You know. In your own head.
Starting point is 01:17:33 I don't know. But I guess your dogs were barking, so. They were going crazy. I was trying to calm them. I went out to, because the dog looked to me like it had a collar on. So I was going to take the dog and call the owner. And then I never, the ghost husky has not been seen since. Amy, you guys think I'm crazy.
Starting point is 01:17:51 Because, I mean, it was, it's perplexing how it got in, but then how did it get out? How did it get in, how to get out? Why is it not on footage on my cameras? If you ever come across a mountain lion, stay calm, hold your ground, back away slowly. If it has your kid, though, all bets are off. Exactly. I mean, what are you supposed to do? By the way, the woman did punch the animal repeatedly.
Starting point is 01:18:13 It finally let go of the kid. A wildlife officer tracked down the lion, shot it and killed it. No. If a lion, if a mountain lion's going after a kid, you need to kill the lion. It's all still hard. If a human is trying to steal a kid, you know what? Same thing. I know.
Starting point is 01:18:29 I still am going to feel things. Thanks. Yeah. The boy was suffered Traumatic injuries in stable condition. It's the first attack by a mountain lion
Starting point is 01:18:39 in 26 years. Wow. Well, that's comforting. We're sure that it was a real mountain lion, not a ghost mountain line. All right, that's the news. Those were Bobby's Big. Stories.

Apparently streaming services are hurting your relationship because of your desire to binge watch shows. Meaning if you're watching these shows all the time and you go from one or the other to the other, you're not doing things like talking, making sweet love. Oh.
Starting point is 01:22:37 That's basically it. Those are two things. The shows that we're watching now, we can't even really binge watch. Ted Lasso can't binge watch it. It comes out every week. I'm so annoyed at shows that come out like they did when we were kids. Why are they trying to do that? I want them all.
Starting point is 01:22:51 I want them all. And I want them now. That we watched Nine Perfect Strangers on Hulu. You done with that or is that still? No, it's fine. No, it's every week. Oh, my goodness. You have to wait.
Starting point is 01:23:02 Like, they teased us and, like, dropped three episodes at once in the very beginning. And then now it's once a week. But Nicole Kidman's in it. She's great. She's so great. She's so convincing in her character. It took a second to get into the show. But now we're fully in.
Starting point is 01:23:17 She loves doing one of those, like, special series. Yeah. Like, that's her thing. Like, I want to show up for five episodes. We're going to do beginning to end, then I'm doing something else. Like, it's good, though. We started watching a show that Amy recommended to Caitlin called The Juror. No.
Starting point is 01:23:32 Your Honor. Your Honor? It's fine. Brian Cranston? It's fine. We only watched one episode. Are there more? Yes.
Starting point is 01:23:40 Okay. And you can binge it. Fair. Fair. We only watched one and it's tough to completely dial in it and go good or bad on a show in one episode. But the Rotten Tomatoes reviews were not good. Oh. I never even checked.
Starting point is 01:23:52 I just went on my own review and it was awesome. Okay. We may get there. Okay. But right now, Your Honor. Mm-hmm. Oh, 50% on rotten tomatoes. Oh, don't listen to that.
Starting point is 01:24:04 Why? It's about a judge. A judge with a lot of integrity, and his son accidentally kill somebody in a car wreck. Yeah. And suddenly is... He's like reaching for his inhaler. It's not like a bad. He was a drinking or anything.
Starting point is 01:24:15 No, it's sad. And then we're going to go to the police station and turn himself in, but then he finds out the guy who the son he killed was a mobster. The son of a mobster? Like, and if the mobster finds out who did it, he'll kill everybody that was involved, even though was an accident. That sounds good. So then integrity goes out the window.
Starting point is 01:24:31 It does. It sounds good. We're giving it a shot. We're dialed in, but we didn't watch the first episode and go, Woohoo. Oh, wow, that's what sold me because I got the first episode for free. And then it was like, do you want to continue? And I paid to continue.
Starting point is 01:24:46 Okay, good for you. They got you. They did. Let's go over and talk to Cindy in Texas, who would like to say something about the dog that I saw that was in my yard. It was a pure white dog. Red eyes. disappeared. There's no way it could just run out of the yard.
Starting point is 01:25:02 We have gated property. Please, Cindy, say what you want to say. Okay, good morning to all of y'all. I watched a I know everybody's going to start I watched a Hallmark movie. Oh boy.
Starting point is 01:25:17 But the Hallmark movie, a loved one of the gentleman passed away and you don't find out for the end of the movie that the dog, it was a husky, all white that kept annoying him, was actually his loved one that passed away. He was trying to guide him in the right direction. So I was thinking maybe it could possibly be a loved one watching out for y'all.
Starting point is 01:25:46 But if it has red eyes, I'd maybe not. I don't know. My grandmother, my mom. Any of them ever mentioned Husky or what? What kind of dog was it? Husky. Husky and nothing? I really don't know. I was like, ooh, white dog. I'm just telling you it was there and then it wasn't. Cindy, thank you for that. I hope you have a great day. You too. All right. Colton in Jessville, Arkansas. Colton, you're on the show. What's going on? How's the game, Bobby? Morning, Sidio. Morning. All right. So you know where Jesseville's at because you're from Mountain Pines, so I'm sure you're very familiar with where Jesseville is.
Starting point is 01:26:25 That's correct. Yes. Okay, so this is just a quick story. It's not a husky or anything, but when I was probably 10, I don't know, 13 years old, my dad he bought me a gun that just I hunted with around my house, went squirrel hunting with, things like that. And there was always this one little, it was a dead oak tree that was, you know, falling apart and everything like that. And that was where I always saw squirrels. So I always went over there and started the, you know, that's where I started. Well, one day I was, you know, little, so I wasn't very good at hunting.
Starting point is 01:26:54 And now, you know, kind of put the gun up and everything. and I went back out there still just playing outside. And there were these gray. And the only way I know how to explain them were monkeys. They were, I know that it's far out. It's in Arkansas, but I don't know. They were gray, probably the size of like a raccoon maybe, and there was probably 10 or 15 of them going crazy in this tree.
Starting point is 01:27:17 And I remember watching two of them specifically sitting on this tree branch with their legs hanging from the tree branch, just sitting like we would. And I sat there and I watched them and I watched them. And the one that was closest to the tree trunk went and started jumping around and running around with all the others. And I thought, I'm going to go in my house. I'm going to grab my gun. I'm going to shoot one of them. And I'm going to have proof.
Starting point is 01:27:39 When I came back, every one of them was gone. No sign of them. And it was no hallucination. This was an app. This was. And I'm 25 years old now. And I still stand beside it to this day. I've told it to 100 people.
Starting point is 01:27:53 They're all like, man, you're crazy. But I'm a realistic person. and I know what I saw and I still stand beside it. I know what it's like for people to question you. Yeah. I do. I do know what it's like. And I'm going to say this, Colton.
Starting point is 01:28:05 You're crazy. I mean, yeah. Listen, I know where Colton lives. Ain't no monkeys in Jessaville. Probably some raccoons, huh? Well, 10 or 15 of them hanging out in a tree. Dancing. With their legs dangling.
Starting point is 01:28:21 Could have been a raccoon rave. Oh. Never know. But they were sitting with their legs hanging. Raccoons can't do that. Colton, you weren't partaking anything as a kid, where he didn't have some of dad's whiskey or anything? No.
Starting point is 01:28:31 Okay. No, no, dad's whiskey. Dad didn't drink. Okay. Sometimes, you know, we can convince ourselves something was true. I saw a white husky, do not question me. And then it was gone five seconds later. Okay.
Starting point is 01:28:41 Yeah. Colton, thank you for your call, bud. Good luck with that. Yeah, appreciate it. Yeah, have a good one. See you later. I was watching the TikTok of this kid. He's seven years old.
Starting point is 01:28:51 His name's Trason. They were in one of the front rows at an urban show, and Keith's doing his thing. He's like talking to the crowd and he finds out that it's Tracin's first ever concert. So he signed the guitar. He was playing. Like, he was one of his real guitars. Wow. And then gave it to him.
Starting point is 01:29:06 Is this your first concert ever? What are we going to do? Trace it? I pity the second concert you go to, brother. If you don't play guitar, you can't know. It's an electric guitar too. Not a cheap acoustic. It's an electric that he was playing.
Starting point is 01:29:29 Keith Urban is awesome. So cool. Let me grab a few of these. This is voicemail number one. one from yesterday last night. Good morning, studio. I'm down here in Baton Rouge in the middle of a hurricane, and we've been listening
Starting point is 01:29:42 to your podcast pretty much the duration of the evening. I want to say thank you guys for doing everything you're doing. You guys keep it up, man, and we're listening to you. Appreciate that. Routing for you guys. Hope you made it through safely.
Starting point is 01:29:57 And if you go to bobbybones.com, we are donating all the proceeds we get from our Pimp and Joy line to make sure when they say, hey, this is what we need to help doing. We're going to have some money to be able to send down to Louisiana to help them after the hurricane. Here's a voicemail from Alicia in Arkansas. I saw you on Peloton. I was working out with you and you did not high-five me back, but that's okay because you were like number five and like 227 people. So I see how you get so far in life. You just put your head down and do hard work, although my leading hashtag was fight grand repeat.
Starting point is 01:30:27 So my feelings are a little bit hurt, but that's okay. Bye. I was going pretty hard on Peloton. Okay, fifth. If I'm not top three, I'm disgusted with myself. It is, I don't care if it's 10,000 people. I'm like, you are such a loser. Dang, dude. I look at myself in the mirror. Well, but, but if I hit top three out of even 500 people, I'm like, that's what I'm
Starting point is 01:30:48 talking about. I give myself a high five sometimes. I'll be like this. And that's my moment of being proud of myself. You definitely didn't give her a high five. Well, I can't see. I take my glasses off. Oh.
Starting point is 01:30:57 And anything that comes up on the screen as far. I don't really see the numbers even I'm riding. I just lower my head, ride as hard as I can. half hour. Oh, so you don't even know what position you're in? Not really. The numbers are bigger at the bottom, the very bottom, so I can kind of tell what those are, but I have terrible vision and with no glasses, I can't see anything. So I did not high-five her. I'm sorry about that. Here. There you go. Got her. Basically, same thing. Radio high-five there. Appreciate that. Let's go over and talk to Chris and Kentucky. Chris, you on the air. What's up, buddy?
Starting point is 01:31:27 Hey, what's going on? Just you, man. Go ahead. How you doing, man? Good morning, studio. Morning. I had a little bit of a weird incident as a young child. One morning, me and my brother were leaving our house, and we grew up in the west end of Louisville, shotgun-style houses. And we're leaving one morning, and we walked through past our mom's bedroom from our bedroom, headed to the living room to head out for school.
Starting point is 01:31:57 As we walked to our hallway, we look to the left, and there's an old man laying on our couch. and I grabbed my brother he looks over and sees the same thing and we both just start walking backwards now the west and the Louisville crazy things happen all the time so we start walking backwards
Starting point is 01:32:14 and we turn and go to my mom's room and tell my mom we're like hey there's an old man laying on our couch and literally we can see straight down the hallway nobody ever got up open the front door or anything we walked back in there with our mom and the guy was gone and come to find out the man that we described was our grandfather, my mom's father, who passed away when she was 10.
Starting point is 01:32:39 No. Like, two a teeth. Like, my phone is shaking right now telling you the story because I haven't told many people about that, but I'm telling you it was the creepiest thing that ever happened to me. And it wasn't like it was a ghost. It looked like a human being laying on our couch. Wow. That's weird. I believe him.
Starting point is 01:32:59 And if you're just turning the show on, I talk about this ghost dog that was at my house. And then some guy called and said he's on ghost monkeys. Yeah. And this guy is actually the first believable one, though. Yeah. Of all of our stories. I mean, the shaking while talking and how he hasn't told that many people. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:33:14 I feel like, and he had his brother there as another witness, right? So that's interesting. Yeah, I appreciate that. Thank you for sharing that. That is wild and unexplainable. Yes. All right, buddy. Have a good day.
Starting point is 01:33:28 You guys too. All right. see you later. Let me grab a couple more calls here. We got so many... What we'll do in the post show, we do a separate show up on the podcast feed. We'll do our weekends on that podcast feed. Okay. I'd have so many good calls here. Let me go over.
Starting point is 01:33:44 Speaking of gender reveals, this is Angelica in Wichita, Kansas. Angelica, you were on the show. What's going on? So, my daughter turns to next week, but you were talking about gender reveals, and it kind of made me giggle because you said, Oh, well, whenever you, it's the one you don't want, it's hard to hide your face. Well, I wanted a boy. My husband wanted a girl.
Starting point is 01:34:07 And we did the smoke bombs. I guess they were more like smoke sticks or whatever, but someone was recording. And when the pink smoke came out, you can hear me on the video go, dang it. And then I tried to, like, I tried to mask it by yelling, oh, yeah, I lost a bet. But everybody knew that that was crap, you know. and so I just, it made me laugh because I was like, yeah, I'm one of those guilty people that when my child watches this in 10 years, she's going to be like, did you not want me? You know, and so I just, I thought that was really funny because, yes, it is, when it comes down to it,
Starting point is 01:34:40 it's very hard to hide your reaction whenever you're wanting something else. Yeah, one solution. Burn the video. Yeah, don't let her watch it. That never happened. Burn this podcast, everything you can do. This didn't happen. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:34:52 Thank you for your story. I appreciate that. All right, bye-bye. Michael in Denver, Colorado. Michael, you are on the Bobby Bone Show. What's going on with you? Hey, good morning, studio. Morning.
Starting point is 01:35:05 Hey, so I've got two quick things. First one, I wanted to revisit you talking about the not trending on breaking Bobby Bones a couple weeks ago. So I have a five-year-old and an eight-year-old, and both my kids absolutely love the show. Thank you. They will wake up in the morning, and they'll, instead of watch the cartoons, like they'll turn that on and start playing. I heard my daughter doing a countdown and she was hammering on her wooden house in the backyard the other day like, you got to finish, you got to finish.
Starting point is 01:35:32 So we love the message. Absolutely love that you can step out of your comfort zone and make a difference. And then the second thing is my daughter's birthday. She's turning nine in two weeks. My wife is actually flying her this weekend, the new brawn poles to go to your show.
Starting point is 01:35:50 So I hope you can give a shout out. That's amazing. What's her name? Her name is McKenzie. Eddie, try to write that down on your phone. McKenzie. How old is she? She's going to be nine.
Starting point is 01:36:00 We'll try to shout her out from on stage. Now, it's a week away. But Eddie, if you make a note of that. Oh, boy, it's all on me now. And if we forget, it's my fault. Ramundo will be there too. Raymundo, you make a note too. I feel like we should send a note to Morgan number one.
Starting point is 01:36:13 She'll make sure. That's a good idea. Notes all around. Hey, thank you. We'll try to shout out to her on stage as well. All right. I appreciate that on breaking Bobby Bones as well. That'd be fantastic.
Starting point is 01:36:22 She would love it. All right. See you later. Thanks, guys. All right, here's a voicemail we got yesterday. Morning Stadium. I am heading from Maryland to New Bronsville this coming Saturday to see Bobby Bones
Starting point is 01:36:35 and the raging idiots, which I'm pumped for. I feel good. Ooh, I feel so good. Uh, quick question about it. Are we going to get any more details about who's performing when, like, a schedule? Yeah, it's a good question. Yes.
Starting point is 01:36:48 Eddie and I, the closers of the night, we don't go on until, like, 845. Yeah. Russell Dickerson goes on at like 7. 30, Maddie and Tegu on at like 630. There's an act before them. There's a whole daytime stage. I believe it opens at one.
Starting point is 01:37:00 There's balloon. We're doing two shows, two festival shows. Bobby Fest. Saturday in New Brombles, Texas, Whitewater Amphitheater. Sunday in Wichita, Kansas, at Wave. So, come get tickets at Raging Idiots.com. But that's roughly it. The side stage is around noon or one.
Starting point is 01:37:17 There's, they'll be stuff for kids, too. Balloon animals, I don't know what else. Face painting. Yeah, fun stuff. But then the main is at night. I know Eddie and I play at like eight. 45, Russell Dixon plays at like 730, Maddie and Taye play at like 640. Yeah, good to clarify because I think the website just says one, so they may think we start at one.
Starting point is 01:37:33 We don't start at one. And they show up at noon. But I'll have that all up on the Instagram today or tomorrow or so. All right, thank you guys. Here's a song from The Raging Idiots. We played this at the Grand Ole Opry this weekend. Eddie and I played the opera, and it was good. Oh, that's awesome.
Starting point is 01:37:47 Yeah, they left. And it was the first time that I'd got to do new jokes since being married and I'd written a bunch of marriage jokes. They hit? Yeah. Oh, they laughed at those too. Yeah, I had some pretty good jokes. This story comes to us from Bellevue, Washington. A man was looking for some oxy pills.
Starting point is 01:38:07 He's like, ah, pharmacy, let me go ahead and break into that pharmacy. Only problem is he breaks in, there's no pills, because he was at a compounding pharmacy, which customizes medication where people like, oh, they mix this one and this one, so it's where they make the pills. I don't think I would have known the difference either Yeah, I'd be like, oh, there's probably a lot of pills in there Yeah, I'd been like, there's pills for me, it's probably pills I can sell to my friends
Starting point is 01:38:28 So I also had I decided to break in somewhere Would have been that bonehead too Oh I didn't even know what a compound pharmacy was Yeah, compound sentence Well, what is that? Is that where you put and in there? That's like run on
Starting point is 01:38:40 Where you combine It's a comp, yeah Like you're combining meds Right, right, but a compound sentence Is that where you put and in the middle and make it longer? Sure Or, yeah, sure Okay, that'll work
Starting point is 01:38:51 And that is your little bonehead story of the day. Down in Georgia, somebody stole a van from a mortuary, and as they got in to steal the van and drive off, a dead body rolled out of the back of it. No. And then they ran from police. Kajon Griffin, 23, remains on the loose, is one of for several felonies.
Starting point is 01:39:13 He remains at large after fleeing in Cobb County. He stole, and when he stole, the body rolled out. No, that's awful. The thing is, this guy's now I've got a word about being haunted the rest of his life. Yeah. If he believes in that, he's probably believing in that. But right now, he's just on the run. And when you steal a van from a place like that, that's the risk you take, right?
Starting point is 01:39:34 Like, there could be a body in there. Yeah. I just would assume there wouldn't be a body because you just don't leave them in the back of vans. I would think a body you would get in and out as fast as possible. Like, when you get there, you remove the body. I don't know. When these beer trucks, you know, they're getting ready to deliver, they load the trucks up and they could leave some beer.
Starting point is 01:39:50 The body, though, not exactly the same. That's what's up. Thank you guys for hanging out. Caitlin and I have like a little photo shoot today for a magazine, and I had to cash in a, this is an eight or above. That's how our relationship works. So you were approached about the photo shoot, not her? We were approached.
Starting point is 01:40:07 Oh, we, okay. And she was like, eh. And I said, I'd like to say this is more important than an eight to me. We have a number system. If it's a seven or below, she will be like, I'm going to pass. because she doesn't want to do anything really, you know, in the public world. But I say, hey, this is an eight. She goes, okay, I will do it.
Starting point is 01:40:24 So we'll be doing a photo shoot today. What it is for, I will tell you at a later date. I don't think I can tell you now. I think they want us to kind of keep it quiet. So doing that today, then I have dinner with a work for a talk about some stuff. Other than that, just a normal Monday. You? A volleyball game today.
Starting point is 01:40:40 It's a way game. Your daughter is volleyball. Oh, yeah. I kind of. Honestly, though, I've been practicing with her a lot in the driveway at night. and my volleyball skills are coming back. Does she get to play? Yeah, she plays.
Starting point is 01:40:53 She's on the JV team for her. You know, she's never played volleyball before in her life until she made this team. And yeah, she gets out there. She's getting better. We're working on it. So she does get in the game. She does get in the game.
Starting point is 01:41:04 Yeah, they make a good point to make sure that they rotate in. So I'm proud of her. Well, I appreciate you guys. We'll see you on tomorrow's show. Have a great Monday, everybody. All right, if you have ever dealt with a traditional home security company, you know the drill.
