So if you're just turning us on, you just listen to the podcast for the first time ever. We finish today's show already. We come on after the show and do this little segment here. So what you're hearing now did not go on the air.
Starting point is 00:03:11 It's a bonus show, basically. And I didn't get a chance to bring this up today. But you see Elton John said he will not, one, never smack his kids, but also will never shout at them. Oh, I didn't know. And I was going to run this by you parents. Yeah, that's tough. The fine shout. Right.
Starting point is 00:03:28 Because I mean, yeah, I yell. Because I would imagine, though, you also said similar things before you were a parent. And then you aren't the same person that you wanted to be once you see the reality of the situation. Any accuracy there? Oh, yeah. Like, I said my kids will never eat cereal. Or, like, certain foods. And now I'm like, whatever.
Starting point is 00:03:50 I mean, it's not all the time, but they do have it. Eddie? Yeah, I hate to admit it. But I was very strong on the whole electronic thing, iPads, iPhones. stuff like that. And I feel like I have an 11-year-old. He's my oldest now, but I feel like that day is coming a lot closer than I thought it would. I said no phones until 18.
Starting point is 00:04:07 I'd say the next year or so. Yeah. We really laid into you. Did you just said that too? We were like, there's no way. It's good, though, because he's a smart kid. Yeah. And he knows what's right and what's a responsible kid.
Starting point is 00:04:17 And he loves movies and, like he could learn and do a lot on an iPad or a phone. Elton John 72 says he will never smack or shout at his two son, Zachary and Elijah, if they misbehave. and we'll control their behavior with calm words and discussion. I mean, that's, that's great if he can do that. In theory, it sounds perfect. Yes. I think some people can do that, though.
Starting point is 00:04:38 Right. I can't. I mean, my personality isn't. But isn't about the kids, too, not listening? Some kids, some adults, some animals. Everyone responds to what things differently. Not about just your age, but we all have responses built on how things trigger us. And if a kid is not triggered in a way by conversational.
Starting point is 00:04:58 then you have to try the things. Yeah. Yeah, like in my family, shouting at my kids shuts them down, especially my older one. It doesn't work. It just shuts him down. So my wife never shouts at him,
Starting point is 00:05:09 and I feel like she just cuts right through whatever I can't get through because I'm a shouter. You have to learn the different personalities. I will shout, and that gets their attention. And speaking of cereal, I've thrown it in the disposal
Starting point is 00:05:23 and turned it on for effect. I'd be like, think you're ever going to eat cereal again? I've slammed milk down on the counter and it has gone everywhere because I was so angry. Now I don't even remember what it was for. But their faces sometimes when I freak out and lose it. Priceless? Did your daughter ever figure out the video game?
Starting point is 00:05:42 The dance video game? For, oh, the Nintendo? Okay, my bad. Did I not give you the update? I went over to Amy's on Christmas Day to give her kids her presents. And her daughter couldn't figure out. And I was like, she's 12. She'll get it.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Give her a minute. Right. And she does. she normally gets everything. So she can't, I mean, but props to her for giving it a go and still playing it even though she couldn't. And she wasn't complain or say anything to me. But I could tell, like something just wasn't right. So I get on Google. So we bought her, she wanted a Nintendo Switch for Christmas. Well, I was at Target and they were out of Nintendo Switches, but they had Nintendo Switch Light. So I bought that. I didn't know there was like a total difference. I just
Starting point is 00:06:22 thought, oh, it's a less memory version or something. But light means those handles don't come off. And for the dance one, you have to have the handles off in your hand, kind of like a wee. And it tracks your movements. Her daughter was trying to play it without the movements. She was like, I don't, she's like, I can't get it. She's like basically nothing. She's getting no points, nothing because she can't like move. And I had no idea. And that's the only game we got her. I mean, now she has a few more, but that's all we got her. So for a couple weeks after, like the whole Christmas break, she had a game for her new Nintendo Switch that didn't work with that. I know. I felt, but I'm not at it. The person, not, it's my fault. But the person at Target sold me the Nintendo Switch Light and that game. Oh, this is a fun one. I was like, okay. So I just trusted. I mean, clearly the employee maybe didn't know what they were talking about, but it was a real, once we discovered that, I felt like a bad gift giver. And her daughter was just kind of in a bad mood when I was over there because she couldn't get it. She wasn't talking to me.
Starting point is 00:07:25 All because of the game? No, I don't know why. I don't know. Sometimes she's just, you know, she's 12. Like, it's just a, she's in a funk. But no, she was very grateful for the Nintendo Switch light. Amy's son got a motorcycle, like a toy motorcycle, and I got a bunch of cop stuff too. Oh, yeah. So, like, I got him like a police sweater, a hoodie.
Starting point is 00:07:44 He wore his hoodie yesterday. Got him, you know, a lot of cops. A megaphone or something. And so I text Amy yesterday. She was like, well, I'm walking around town. We're patrolling the neighborhood. Stevenson's making sure everything's straight. Yep.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Yep. That's what we do now. He wants to take that thing everywhere. And I'm like, it's going to run out a charge or battery. And then I'm going to be stuck on the side of the road with this, like, motorcycle. It's legit. It's like a, it's for kids, but. He's just got a radio-in backup.
Starting point is 00:08:09 They'll come get them. Yeah, right. I didn't think about that. Okay, I'm going to radio in Bobby. So your Christmas tree, did you take yours down? Today. I took mine down. I think December 26th at 1202.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Oh, wow. You were ready. It was really quick. It was like, this is over. Goodbye. They say today is the day. January 6th. If you're looking for some sort of push, it's the January 6th.
Starting point is 00:08:30 If you got your tree up, according to the traditional Christian calendar, January 5th, marks the 12th night, or the Eve of Epiphany that ends the 12 days of Christmas. Epiphany Eve is traditional time to take down Christmas greenery, which includes your Christmas tree. Man, I love the wreaths on my front door and outside my house. I really don't want to take those down, but I guess I have to. You don't have to do anything. I pull it. I pulled them all down. I know. When I was at your house, I saw T.J.'s car over there still.
Starting point is 00:08:58 Are you sure? No, maybe it's not his car? Who's got that old? There's a couple of old cars, but he had old car, but... It wasn't the same old car? I don't think so. And he packed him up, moved him out. His house sold, and he was like, bye, see ya.
Starting point is 00:09:10 So it was another cool old car in your neighborhood. Mm-hmm. And you know what, Amy... Oh, can I say why I got confused at your house? Does that matter or does it identify it? I can't... Sure. It doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:09:21 He painted it. I went over to Amy's house. Mm-hmm. And I drove by. I've been there in Amy's house many times. Drove by. I was like, how did I miss Amy's house? Turned around, drove by again.
Starting point is 00:09:31 How did I miss Amy's house? Drow by again? I see a house that's kind of looks like Amy House with a American flag on it. It's green, but the flag is sitting in a different place. And I go up to it, I get on my car, walk up to him. I'm like, this is not Amy's house. Where their house used to be blue,
Starting point is 00:09:45 it's now white. Completely painted different since the last time I was there at Thanksgiving. And I'm like, I'm not at the right house. I cannot find the house. And so she painted. house it didn't tell me there was a whole different color. So I could not identify it as was walking down the street. I didn't realize it was that different, but it's happened to anybody that's come to our house since we painted it, they have come to the front door and
Starting point is 00:10:04 and been like, well, I drove past the house like three times because I didn't know. I walked to the wrong house. I didn't realize how much it changed it. Lori Laughlin is prepping for prison. Oh, what's her prison prep? Yeah, how do you prep for that? She's getting advice from inmates. She's from full house. She did the whole college admission scandal. She's learning the lingo, practicing martial arts. Oh my gosh. She knows her celebrity will make her a target behind bars. Wow. Now that's a full house episode I would like to watch.
Starting point is 00:10:29 And Becky goes to prison. She goes to jail and has to like, or has to learn. Because that show, get hard, what happened with Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart, right? Where they had to train him to be in prison? I think it was Kevin Hart, right? And so that's what she's doing. She's getting ready to go to prison. Wow.
Starting point is 00:10:42 Is that smart to prepare for a fight or do you just like, really? Would you rather be prepared? No. I think with preparation, I think anytime you can prepare it for whatever the situation, it's good. Okay. And then also, too, if she learns martial arts, that's something she can practice in her cell. I feel like if I practice martial arts forever,
Starting point is 00:10:59 I still would get my butt kicked. Yeah, but what I would say is, I'm going to get my butt kick fighting one day because I box all the time. Yeah. But I'm not boxing to learn how to fight. I'm boxing so hopefully muscle memory kicks in. I do it so much that when I do do it,
Starting point is 00:11:14 I'm not thinking about it. And I may still get whooped. But my goal is that if I'm in a situation that because we also train situationally to if something happens to you this is what you should do
Starting point is 00:11:28 because he doesn't train he just my chair my trainer is not like you need to hang in there and duke it out with somebody he's like if you have to hit hit get out of there and he's like if you have a he shouldn't be the thing with a drink
Starting point is 00:11:38 he's like if you have a drink of water in your hands somebody's talking crap to you this is what you do it's like a certain kind of toss hit he's like don't watch TV or movies and think you're going to stand toe to toe with someone he's like, get out.
Starting point is 00:11:51 One, two, get out, or one, get out, or just get. So it's never that. It's always, if you have to, then you do it. But hopefully you don't have to. And a lot of it is getting out of those situations. And then if you are cornered and you have no other option, hopefully muscle memory kicks in. Because, and we try and like that a lot.
Starting point is 00:12:12 But he's never going, all right, right. Left right, left, right, you get him a little jab, jab, do. We'll do cardio boxing and we'll do bag. But then it's like, okay, we're going to train okay situations happen. And then he's like, get out. Want to get out. Kick, here, get out. So, poor Lori Laughlin.
Starting point is 00:12:30 That's got to be scary, knowing. What, not poor. She's got her. She got her. No, I get it, but she's got to, she's got to, I mean, in her mind, don't commit a crime. But is she going to, like, real prison? Or she's going to, like, they have tennis and Martha Stewart prison.
Starting point is 00:12:45 I said 30 love. No, we did it. That's funny. Have you all ever played pickleball? No, but Morgan number two and now we're going to play once or twice. Yeah, and then I got cold out real quick. And I hear it's a lot. Where?
Starting point is 00:12:58 Jake played. Jake only plays. Oh, that's what he was talking about. I didn't realize that's the same thing. We played it in Colorado, and that's the first time I've ever played. And my husband and I, we ended up playing twice. The kids even liked it, but I kept wanting to go play more pickleball. Like, I'm pretty good.
Starting point is 00:13:13 You want to make a bet? No. I never even played, but I'll make a bet with you. The ball, it's different, though. because it's like with tennis. It's like full-sized ping pong, basically. Because with tennis, you're used to the ball doing a certain thing. But this plastic ball has no bounce to it.
Starting point is 00:13:30 So you have to be agile. Are you? You'll make a bet? Today's the most popular day for divorces. Why? The first Monday in January has come to be known as Divorce Day. It's because it's a day there are high numbers of people inquiring about leaving their partners. One expert says it happens in January because folks want to wait until after the holidays
Starting point is 00:13:48 to give their family a last holiday together. Oh. Maybe they know about it since, like, October or so. That's thoughtful. And so then they ended here. It's called Divorce Day. And the families have a whole year to get used to it before the next Christmas.
Starting point is 00:14:01 Indiana twins were born on different days and different decades. Do you see this story in the news? Yes, saw that. I think Mike and Eddie both put it up on our show thing where we found a story you can post it up there. It's pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:14:11 So they were as twins, and they were born just a few minutes apart. One was born at 1137 p.m. And they were born at 1207. So they have different years, different decades. One was born in 2019. That's born in 2020.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Oh, yeah. Isn't that crazy? And they're twins. And they're going to be like, yeah, I'm a year apart. They have twins. And they have taken out the decade and the year thing. They have different birthdays. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:33 So they're twins. They have different birthdays now. One's the 31st. One's the first. Isn't that crazy? Yep. Oh, I didn't do this. I had a segment.
Starting point is 00:14:45 There's a segment I'm going to start doing. I can just talk about it. It didn't matter. Mike and I were talking about it. it because I'm always, I still see stories where I get kind of irritated to people. And so I wanted, I guess I did Happy New Year to everyone except, yeah. But I want to do a good morning to everyone except. And the person I was going to do today was this person who was using their feet on the
Starting point is 00:15:04 Delta Airlines screen. They had their socks off and they used their toes, a swipe movie. So the segment will be, hey, good morning to everybody except the guy who was using his feet at Delta Airlines to swipe the screen. And so it shows a pastor using their feet to operate an in-flight screen. using her toes to swipe the media screen. She had hands. It wasn't like a disabled thing?
Starting point is 00:15:29 Yes. Okay. Just checking. Oh, yeah, you're right. Because if you're disabled, then yes. Then it's okay. Lisa Vanderpump has a restaurant called Pump. Yeah, she does.
Starting point is 00:15:37 I've driven by it. And a Ferrari smashed into it. Jumped curb smashed into the restaurant. Oh, my gosh. Is everybody okay? Because I think you can eat outside. I don't know. Yeah, well, from what I saw.
Starting point is 00:15:49 A military flight exercise in Oregon turned disastrous. a student pilot blacked out during a maneuver. He was able to wake up from the flight nightmare and guy just playing, but there was some serious damage to his aircraft, $2.5 million in damage. That's a lot. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:06 I started watching a show on Apple Plus about astronauts. Oh, yes, he's yes. My dad is watching that. Yeah. I know. Not good. I tried to watch it.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Did you watch it? Yes, I watched the whole thing, and it takes a while, but it is good at the end. I watched... Okay, so here's what it is. It's as if Russia got to the moon before us. Okay, this is another if this happened.
Starting point is 00:16:28 It's called For All Mankind. Hey, will you look up a Rotten Tomato on that, Mike? It's called For All Mankind. And it's if Russia were to beat us to the moon. We're both trying. We beat them in real life. Yeah, put the flag up there. And it's the moon race, the space race.
Starting point is 00:16:40 And I watched it, and the first episode was pretty slow. Holy crap, it's got great ratings. Oh, well, maybe I was very good. Well, I watched the first episode, and I was like, okay, I don't ever fall right into the first episode of any show. watched the second episode and I was like, I was still slow. And then I turned it off halfway
Starting point is 00:16:56 the second episode. It is pretty slow and they are long episodes but probably the last five episodes get really intense. It picks up. So it's totally fiction. Okay, well that helps.
Starting point is 00:17:10 Same people though, like Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong. Yeah, it has some like important moments in history that are real. But it's like you have to guess. But not okay, because I thought it was all real. No. Okay, I missed that.
Starting point is 00:17:22 the whole Russia did it for a first part. Okay, but my dad does like it. So take that from a 78-year-old man in a retirement home. You've got nothing else to do. Do you watch you? No. Oh, yes. I have. You watch season two? Not yet. I only watch season one. Should I watch season two? Yeah, here it's great. I won't watch it. I watch some of the first season and it's not my show, not my cup of tea, but I have a couple friends that love it. I have another friend that said, there's another show. Oh, the Witcher. Mike Synes hit me up and was like, our friend Mike, he's like, you're going to love The Witcher. It'll look. It'll look. looks a little too sci-fi-y for me to just watch on the surface, but it's 8.5 on IMDB, that it is?
Starting point is 00:18:01 But where do you watch it? 93 audience score. Wow. Netflix. And it's a series? It's so sci-fi-y, though. Let me read the preview of this, Mike. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:11 The Witcher, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. And before you go, we love Avengers. It's the same thing. Yeah. Did you watch Ant Man? Yeah. Did you like that one? Yeah, I did.
Starting point is 00:18:26 I actually had watched Ant Man before. That was the one movie, but I didn't realize it was part of a series. So, yeah, I liked it, though. Tomorrow, Morgan's going to talk about it. She's been super binging some stuff. So I'm going to wait until tomorrow to talk about that, but you're going to all freak out a little bit. Okay. I think that's all I have.
Starting point is 00:18:45 Anything? Do you want to say? Do you want to do the Slingshot guy? You have the audio for the Slingshot guy? Wait on this. Here's a ride attendant. A ride attendant punks on a guy who was already freaked out. When they're about to take off, he tells them that guy rider that his strap is too loose. He then instructs him to tighten his belt.
Starting point is 00:19:04 The rider fails to tighten his belt at the point the female rider is concerned her belt is loose too. The attendant that claims they're both loose and then shoots them off. Oh my gosh. Just messing with them. Here you go. It's my tools. Hey, I got both seatoffs completely. Wait, what? Wait, what?
Starting point is 00:19:29 That's rude. That's so rude. He was lined to them saying that it was loose when it really wasn't, and then they thought they were being shot out with loose belts. Yeah, but what kind of oath do you take as a ride operator? What do you? I mean, you could give somebody a heart attack. Yeah, straight up pee pants, heart attack, something.
Starting point is 00:19:50 Oh, it's one of those that shoot up, huh? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, that is wrong. That's crazy. I get so motion sick on those things. Bones, you wouldn't be like completely... Mad? Mad?
Starting point is 00:20:02 I was going to use another word. I know. P.O. Yeah. I'm watching this guy freak out. How hilarious. Oh, yeah. I'd be so mad.
Starting point is 00:20:10 I'd get off that ride and be like, what's your problem? Why would you do that to me? Don't ever... Don't you ever do that to me again. Okay. Amy, tell me something. Go ahead. What do you want me to say?
Starting point is 00:20:21 Hey, is Rod here? I got to go to a meeting with him. Like, just about life or something I watch. What's the last thing? What do you want to say before we get out of it? Well, I'll say if you're looking for a movie to watch. I don't know if it's in theaters or whatever because it was on my, I took a Delta flight and it was on the screen.
Starting point is 00:20:37 So sometimes they show what's in theaters. But it was Brian Banks. Is that his name that football player? Do you know that story? Yeah, that's it. Yeah, Brian Banks. So he was a pro football player, but early, like when he was in high school, he got accused of sexual assault.
Starting point is 00:20:52 And it was totally not true. And it like totally ruined his life. But he persevered and he fought. the case and fought it and bought it and did not give up. And eventually was cleared and then played for the NFL. 97% on Rotten Tomato's audience. Yeah. And it's really inspiring.
Starting point is 00:21:09 It just reminds you like, don't give up. So that was a movie I would recommend. Anything you want to say at Lunchbox? Oh, yeah, Ray, Eddie and myself be doing the Soar Losers podcast. If you want to download it today, we've been on vacation. So we're back. Got a lot to talk about. Talk about Ray's engagement.
Starting point is 00:21:23 Woo! Eddie? What did I? I watched something that was pretty good Oh yeah I watched Man on the High Castle And I finished the first season You guys said it was gonna be weird
Starting point is 00:21:34 I'm totally in still And I'm about to start the second season now So Well that's interesting that you like crappy shows That's cool I'm shocked Shogger That's so mean
Starting point is 00:21:44 It gets rough Somebody won Mike you can help me on this one But somebody wanted the Golden Globes Last night And they said something very true If you can get past subtitles And the stigma behind subtitles
Starting point is 00:21:55 you're going to find there are really good movies Oh my gosh I watch most things with subtitles now Yeah and you find good stuff Just in general Because I watch like the office in the British version I needed to see the references Sometimes my TV's my dog won't stop snoring
Starting point is 00:22:08 So I'll turn them on So now I just watch it automatically with subtitles Yeah So are you watching more foreign films? No no none But I just watch American films with subtitles You know what my daughter's really into Is there some of these like Spanish
Starting point is 00:22:21 Teen shows on Netflix? They're actually really good, but they dub over, so it's not subtitles, but the lips do not match up with the English, but she loves them. Like there's one called Cinderella DJ. We'll look that up. Check it out. It's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:22:41 Okay, we're going to go check out the podcast I did with Russell Dickerson and his wife, Kaylee. I'm going to do that, yeah. It's good. I'm going to listen. Yeah, you'll like it. That's it. Here is Monday's show. Ray just rubbed his eyes.
Starting point is 00:22:52 He's tired. He's ready to roll. There is, Rob. Got something in mind. All right, there he is. See you guys. Bye. Bye. The Bobby Bones Show. Big Three Stories.
Starting point is 00:23:02 Let's go over to our producer, Ramundo. Ramundo, what you got over there? In sports, the NFL playoffs got underway. Only eight teams remain now. Nurse Bobo is on the phone to help us with our New Year's resolutions to help lose weight and make it stick. Listen, a lot of people out there going, I'm going to lose 10 pounds.
Starting point is 00:28:11 I'm going to lose 7 pounds. And let's act like you're just going to change your life because of the day on the calendar. Let's act like that's a real thing, just for the sake of this segment. You know? Yeah. Probably not. because it's not a date on a calendar that really makes you change your life. But I love that you're trying.
Starting point is 00:28:27 And Nurse Bobo is on right now. Good morning, Nurse Bobo. What's up, Bobby? How's it going? It's going good. Here we are. First of the year. A lot of people are going, this is the year that I lose weight. Let me ask you this. What's the healthiest way to lose a pant size?
Starting point is 00:28:42 It all starts a diet. And if you just cut out processed foods and sugar and substitute, one of your soda, for water, that will drastically make a difference. Boy, the cutting the sugar is such a big deal. It's hard. Such a big deal. But it's the biggest deal. And by the way, sodas are just, they all annihilate you.
Starting point is 00:29:04 I've had friends that just stopped drinking soda, and they lost like eight pounds in two weeks because they were drinking two or three sodas a day, and they were like, I just stopped. Yeah, and there's a couple headaches that come with it. There's like withdrawal from anything. But if you can just cut the soda. Even diet ones. It's just, it's such a big deal, right? Bobo?
Starting point is 00:29:22 Big time. What is your advice for someone who needs to lose a bunch of weight, like 50 pounds or so? Yeah, I usually tell people, if you got to lose 50 or 60 pounds and you have this large number you're going for, just break it up into small little goal. I want to lose 5 pounds or I want to lose 10 pounds. Don't make it so astronomical to say this year I'm going to lose 50 pounds. That's tough the stomach and can be very discouraging when you lose 3 pounds and you've got so much further to go in your mind. and make it more about how you feel, feeling better, and don't focus so much on a number on a scale,
Starting point is 00:29:58 because numbers don't always correlate with health, numbers don't always correlate with feeling your best. What's your advice for someone, and right now Nurse Bobo is on the phone, talk about a lot of people trying to lose weight for their New Year's resolution. So if you haven't worked out in, let's say, nine months or a year, what is your advice at the first step of this person?
Starting point is 00:30:16 Go to the gym, put the treadmill on a steep incline, and just walk a mile. or walk a mile around your neighborhood. Ease into it. There's no need to just go blow it out on these New Year's resolutions and kill yourself for the first day you're back. You get so sore and you don't work out for two weeks and then you're discouraged that you let yourself down on your resolution
Starting point is 00:30:35 and then you just kind of throw it all to the side. Now, how about water? I know you're a big water guy. I'm a big water guy too, but how much water should an adult actually drink? You should be drinking close to a gallon a day. How much is a gallon? All those jugs? Yeah, milk jug, right?
Starting point is 00:30:50 How many ounces? A big milk jug, a 128 ounce. Like a big, like a gallon, like a milk jug. Okay. A larger milk jug is a gallon. I don't know that I'm pulling that off on me. And I drink a lot of water. I don't know that I'm doing a gallon a day.
Starting point is 00:31:01 And you don't have to get to that gallon number, but if that's kind of your goal and you're shooting to that, the easiest way I usually tell people is whatever you're drinking now, just drink more. If you're drinking two bottles a day or two liters a day, add a third. And slowly ease it in. And I think you'll start to realize that it does curb some of your hunger, your hunger cravings. and you will enjoy the results you're getting off of drinking more water. You'll feel more energized. You'll get sick less. There's a lot of benefits to just taking in more water.
Starting point is 00:31:30 Let me ask you one more question. Nurse Bobo is on. For the new year, we're talking about New Year's resolutions. A lot of people resolving to lose weight. Now, Bobo, I weigh myself three times a day. I weigh myself in the morning. I weigh myself at noon before I work out. I weigh myself in the evening before I go to bed.
Starting point is 00:31:46 Is that healthy? No. Not at all. How do you feel about weighing yourself every day? You want to feel better. And I don't think that looking at a number drives us to feel better. I think it drives us to compare more. And I think feeling good is really what exercise and health is about.
Starting point is 00:32:04 But if you're going to weigh yourself every day, you should choose a set time in the morning wearing the same thing, whether that's naked or an apparel or underwear or whatever. But wearing the same thing at the same time of day, usually in the morning is the best time to get a true weight. If your goal is to weigh yourself every day. And if my goal is to weigh myself every day, three times a day is really working hard at it, right? You're a big believer in that.
Starting point is 00:32:26 Oh, God, that takes some effort. How do you have time for that? I walk it. You got to be home three times a day. Yeah, yeah. I wake up in the morning, I go away myself. I need to, when I hop on that skill in the morning, to be feeling great, because I haven't had food all to the evening, be between 157 and a half and 158 and a half. So what happens to you if you're 159.
Starting point is 00:32:44 I hate myself. And then what happens is, then I weigh myself after I have a small breakfast and, you're a lunch and I still need to be below 160. And so after that, I still need... And then in the evening, sometimes I'll hit it 161, and I'm like, that's okay, because I'll be back down again. So I know where I am, and I just need to constantly monitor what I'm eating because that does that. Like, if I had a big meal...
Starting point is 00:33:05 You ever weigh yourself after you get an IV for me? Yeah, I get like three pounds. Just from the water. So I stopped doing that. Just mad at me. Here's what I do. I don't stop doing it. I lied.
Starting point is 00:33:16 I do it now and go, well, it's just three pounds of liquid. but he's just put in my body. Right. So, um, on Instagram at Adam Bobo, nurse Bobo. And,
Starting point is 00:33:25 um, and, and your, your company is called. Aritae Nashville and its Instagram is at Aratee Nashville. And that's spelled A-R-E-T-E. Yep. Because I don't know what that's how to spell.
Starting point is 00:33:36 Say what it means. It's like something fancy in Latin. Eritay is Greek. It's Greek and means excellence of any time. There you go. I don't know how to say it forever. I was just like, Hey, Bobo.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Come over. Um, all right, there he is. Nurse Bobo, at Adam Bobbo. Instagram. Happy New Year, Bobo. Awesome. Happy New Year, DL too.
Starting point is 00:33:53 All right, see you, bud. Bones, y'all. Leah is on the phone in Florida. Leah, good morning. Good morning. Good morning, Bobby. Morning studio. Morning. What's happening with you? Oh, I have a huge deliverer. I need help.
Starting point is 00:34:10 So my sister, Blasteman, is getting ready to propose at the end of January. And he wanted me to try on the ring yesterday to see if it would fit. they never looked at rings together and the ring is super extra, super gaudy. My sister's so simple. And I don't know if I said tell him.
Starting point is 00:34:30 My mom called me this morning. I was like, you need to tell him and I don't know what to do. That's a good question. Well, first of all, my first question is, do you and your sister have the same ring finger size? If you're trying it on for her. Yeah, we're actually the same. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:43 So, Amy, what do you think about this? Oh, wow. That's hard because, and this is like the opposite of what sometimes you hear. Like some girls would be like, ooh, it's not, it's not enough. But this is like too much. Well, not too much expensive, like too much, like extra. Too extra. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:34:59 I feel like if you know her style, you know her taste, you need to tell him. And I feel like he wouldn't have come to you if he didn't want some sort of feedback. And it's not like you're throwing feedback at him where you're going, oh, here's what I feel about even though you didn't ask. Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's asking for your help. And you love your sister more than him. You have her in mind.
Starting point is 00:35:23 And you're saving her from having to go the rest of her life with the extra gaudy ring. Or you're saving her from having to even tell him. And then it get awkward. And then they may not stay together because it's so awkward. So you can take the, and then the divorce rate goes up. And then we're all penalized. And it's all because you. Yes, that's because of you, Leah.
Starting point is 00:35:43 Okay. No, I can't do that. Here's what we're going to say. He did come to you for advice. It's not like you just saw it in a box. Right. He came to you. I would say, let's just call him Chuck.
Starting point is 00:35:52 Oh, an odd name for a fella. How old is he? He's only 20. Okay, not many Chuck's that are 20, but okay. Let's say, hey, Chuck, I know you love her. I know you show me this ring. I don't think this is her style. And it is going to be awkward.
Starting point is 00:36:08 But you as a loving sister have to take that awkwardness on you and her honor. Yeah. And you say, I would totally do it. Yeah, I think you, my advice is, He came to you to run it by you. You should have it ran by you truly and sincerely and go, I don't think this is for her. I know her before you go and get her something she doesn't like.
Starting point is 00:36:27 I would suggest kind of scaling it down. I would even put it like, hey, you probably knew this before you got it, that she loves really simple things and make it and kind of empower him to make that decision, even to go, I'm not saying change it, but you know, you know as well as I do. She really loves simple things. So if you could find, I would. Yeah, it's awkward. It's such an awkward conversation.
Starting point is 00:36:48 It's such an awkward thing. But I'm going to say that, Leah. I think that's super helpful. Thank you. And, yeah, good luck. Let us know how it goes. I shall, I shall. Thank you guys.
Starting point is 00:37:00 Happy New Year. Happy New Year. There she is. All right. Leah, everybody. I'll talk to you soon. Bye, guys. Bye, bye, bye.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Bonjo. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan No. 2's 32nd Skinny. Jake Owen broke his wrist while he was teaching his daughter Pearl how to skateboard. He posted on his social media saying it would take four to six weeks to
Starting point is 00:37:26 heal, but he's a fast healer. Lady Antelem announced their Ocean 2020 tour. They're bringing Jake Owen and Maddie and Tay along with them. The tour kicks off May 21st in New Mexico. Kelsey Ballerini shared on her social media a long list of New Year's resolutions. Some of them are ditching her phone
Starting point is 00:37:42 more, eating more veggies and drinking less wine, reading books, and smiling a lot. I'm working number two. That's your skinny. It's time. It's For the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good.
Starting point is 00:37:58 A grandpa from Minnesota has finally gotten his high school diploma more than 70 years after he left school. Clifford Hanson just received it at 91 years old in a special graduation ceremony. Wow. His family was there to cheer him on as he got his honorary degree from Benson High School. He dropped out in the eighth grade because his dad was sick and he had to save the family farm. Oh, wow. That's so cool. Which he did, by the way.
Starting point is 00:38:18 Yeah. And then he's 91. He told a nurse in the senior living facility. He still wished he could have gotten it. So they made it happen. Did a little learning, got it, had the whole ceremony. Pretty cool, huh? Super cool.
Starting point is 00:38:29 Ninety-one years old. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Bobid Bones Show. Bonehead. Norrie up the day. This story comes with us from Portland, Oregon. A 24-year-old man had outstanding warrants,
Starting point is 00:38:42 the police tried to pull him over. He's like, man, I got to make a run for it. Drives a car, goes into a neighborhood, says, I got to ditch it. Jumps out, runs towards a river, steals a kayak, and said, I'll just kayak. Only problem is he didn't have any or. He had to use his arms. And he got tired and they just got in a boat and got him out of the middle of the river.
Starting point is 00:38:58 You probably wouldn't be able to paddle along with your arms in a kayak without being exhausted. But it's funny that he's stealing things along the way. Whatever he could find. Everything's escalating. And you probably have to get on your belly too. Oh, he is on his belly laying on the kayak
Starting point is 00:39:15 and I give up. Yeah, there you go. I'm Lunchbox. That's your Bonehead Story of the Day. It's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bones. Let's go. Transmit it. Happy New Year, everybody.
Starting point is 00:39:38 Let's get our first of the year, Amy versus Lunchbox. Here we go. What's going to happen is I'll ask lunchbox three questions meant for the ladies and Amy three questions that guys would know, just generally. Okay. All right. Let's go. Lunchbox up first. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:39:57 Lunchbox, what actress played the lead in the movie 27 dresses? What actress played the lead in the movie 27 dresses. Oh, what is that about? Is that about a wedding? Is that about, I'm going to say, I see Ann Hathaway and dress somewhere? So I'll go Ann Hathaway. Amy, 27 dresses about it being a bridesmaid, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:30 Your answer? Catherine Heigle. That's correct. Very good. Amy still is the first point. Lunchbox. Good American is what celebrity's gene line. Good American, a current celebrity's gene line, named that celebrity. Well, that's definitely Jessica Alba.
Starting point is 00:40:48 No. Amy, can you steal this? Good American is what celebrity's gene line. Chloe Kardashian. That's right. Sorry. Yeah, I was like, I'm rusty. New Year, my fingers are rusty. Yeah, you haven't done this in a year. Well, I got away.
Starting point is 00:41:06 Uh, lunchbox. What is it called when women go to get their acrylic nails touched up? For example, I am going to get a blank. Manicure. No. Amy, do you know this? Oh, I call it maybe a fill. Oh, wow. Three for three? Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Let's go. I've never even had acrylic. Yeah, because acrylics are like the fake stuff. A manicure. I can get a manicure without getting milk. Anything done to my nails. Okay. Amy, you have three questions. Okay. If you just get one, you clench and you win.
Starting point is 00:41:38 All right. Ready? What automotive fluid smells like maple syrup? Oh, Amy's already disgusted with me. I didn't know that, that sounds amazing. I didn't know there was a fluid that actually smelled good. What automotive fluid smells very much like maple syrup? Break fluid.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Oh, incorrect. Lunchbox can steal? Power steering fluid. And a freeze. That's why dogs eat it a lot. It's why animals lick it when it's on the ground. A lot. Okay.
Starting point is 00:42:14 What do you call a type of board made from plaster, especially to form the interior walls of houses? Drywall? Correct. And then finally, LED, DLP, and CRT are types of what? LED, DLP, and CRT are types of what? Lights. Oh, no. Hang it, I'm so rusty at this.
Starting point is 00:42:43 That's not right. That's wrong. Not right. L-D? Lunchbox. Oh. L-E-D-D-L-P and CRT are types of? TV screens.
Starting point is 00:42:55 Yeah. There it is. But our winner, taking the 7-4 lead in the season. Amy! Feel good. I mean, starting the new year off strong. There you go. All right, glad you guys are here with us.
Starting point is 00:43:18 We're back after a couple weeks' vacation. Appreciate you waking up and letting us be your friends this month. morning. So it's our first day back in a couple weeks. A lot of headlines from over the break. I think the biggest one is that Ray, our audio producer in Bay, his girlfriend of six years, finally got engaged. I mean, that's the big one.
Starting point is 00:43:48 Haley and North Carolina, you're on this show. What's happening? I actually was calling to talk about that. I just wanted to know how he did it. Ramundo, tell us kind of what happened. because we were all waiting. We didn't know it was going to be that night, to be honest with you. Yeah, so I went to, I called ahead, went to a baseball stadium, and I'm a sports guy,
Starting point is 00:44:08 so I thought they have a video board. They had a glow event where they put a bunch of Christmas lights, and my chick loves Christmas. And it's a lot of Instagramable stuff there. So I knew the Frozen Fortress. I looked it all up online. It was right next to the video board. I thought, what if it said, Bay, will you marry me? Boom, I get down in the Frozen Fortress and propose.
Starting point is 00:44:25 It said 6 o'clock, told the people put it on the video board, play my song, big, big plans, right at six, got down on a knee and proposed. Okay, so let me translate what all that Ray just said. And there's no baseball happening in town, but they've taken it over for about a two months time. They've taken the minor league baseball park and I've transformed it into like a winter wonderland place where you pay a ticket and you get to go through, take pictures, they have fake snow, there's a Santa Claus, there's a lot of Christmas happening.
Starting point is 00:44:51 Yeah, it's a very Christmassy thing. And so I even went over there. Amy went over there one night. Yeah. Here in town, that's the thing you can go do. And so you call, who do you call though? Because although it's not baseball, that baseball scoreboard is still showing Christmas imagery. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:07 Who do you call in order to go, can I get on the Jumbotron? Well, I didn't even talk to the baseball stadium people. The event was put on by glow, so I just hit them up on the email. I never talked to a person, texted. All I did was email. You just emailed the website? Yeah. And said, I want to propose at this time?
Starting point is 00:45:23 Yeah. And all we communicated through was email. That was it. Even day of. Never talked to the guy on the phone at all. Oh, wow. And you just had to trust that it was going to show up and the song was going to start playing. At exactly that time, too, right?
Starting point is 00:45:36 Yeah, right at six. This is when he started playing. And then that's how I knew the video board would be ready. And then she saw it and was like, oh, my gosh. And then that's when I got on the knee. So the song came on first. Yes, to cue me and kind of so I could point to her, hey, look up at the video board. But she looked without even me showing her because it was so big.
Starting point is 00:45:56 It was huge. you could see it throughout the entire ballpark. Whenever this song hits, did your heart kind of drop because it's go time? It starts slow, and so I had a second to chill. And I was actually calm in the moment. It's, I mean, I don't get why you're, you're, you're, most people say they're nervous. I was so chill in the moment. It was perfect.
Starting point is 00:46:13 I was laughing. Me and her, we were kind of like high-fiving. It was great. But I wasn't nervous, really. Did you hand your phone to someone before it happened? Yeah, this dude goes, hey, man, can you take a picture of me and my girlfriend? It's our date. And I go, dude, I got something bigger, man.
Starting point is 00:46:26 I'm about to propose. Will you just start video recording and I'm going to do it here in the next minute? He goes, oh yeah, sorry. So then I just handed it to some random guy. Did your girl know what was coming? She had no idea. Even though you're like, I'm about to propose, here's the phone to video. She was 15 feet away and I just kind of whispered it to the dude.
Starting point is 00:46:42 And did you have the ring in your pocket? Yeah. Were you worried the whole day that you would lose the ring? Well, the thing that worried me is I'd go through the metal detector with the ring. I'm about to do a pat down. So I just put it in my crotch. Wait, hold on. But women are going in and out of there with the ring.
Starting point is 00:46:56 But I'm saying I had the box, so it's pretty obvious, it's lumpy, it feels weird, so. Oh, you had the box? And you put it in your underwear? Yeah. In the front of your underwear? Yeah. Worst case scenario is they pull the ring out at the metal detector I have to propose. That'd be terrible.
Starting point is 00:47:10 But, but if it's going to go off, it's going to go off wherever it is on your body. Pocket, underwear. Right, but they're not patting down your crotch. They could. If there's something that makes... You're going to keep going through it and they're going to be like, sir, why? What do you have on you? Haley, are you there?
Starting point is 00:47:28 Yes, I'm here. What do you think about all this so far? I'm happy for him. It's so exciting. I've been a long-time listener, and I've just been waiting for it to happen. Ray Mundo's been together with this girl six years, finally proposed.
Starting point is 00:47:43 Now the question is, when are you going to get married? Because I saw her tweet last night. You guys have a date. Yeah, she wants to do it in October. All right, that's enough time. Yeah. I'll tell you, if I ever get engaged,
Starting point is 00:47:55 it's like, let's do it next week. Why waste time, right? It's like, you know what? I'm here, you're here. I know you want to have the people. You have to get the menu and there's all the kinds of things. That's a long time to wait. How do you feel about October, Ramundo?
Starting point is 00:48:11 I kind of wanted to do it in 2026, but she wants to do it this year. 20, 26. Why 2026? Another six years. Yeah, you give it a good 12, make sure it's right. Isn't that what they all say? 12 years, you really know. But she really wants it this year, so I said absolutely.
Starting point is 00:48:25 And where are you going to get married? It's a small venue. I think she, we're still getting it finalized, but it only fits about 70 people, really small church. In Nashville? Yep. 70 people. Boy, that's a, it's a tough guess list to get on if it's only, because that's 35 for each side. There's a lot of family.
Starting point is 00:48:45 Oh, yeah, it's going to be a real tight guest list. Oh, no. I told her, we're going to offend some people. Get ready. I mean, I got family members that ain't even coming. Yeah. Oh, no. That's tough.
Starting point is 00:48:57 So it'll just be me and your family, huh? Oh, I got to save the date already. Did those go out? No. Oh, maybe just by text. Well, congratulations. Thank you. It's about time.
Starting point is 00:49:11 I know. Hey, it's a little weight off my shoulders, too. I feel light right now. And you got the ring. Yeah, I got a ring day of, talk to her dad day of, and propose that weekend. How'd the dad conversation go with her? What was that? It was funny.
Starting point is 00:49:24 I went up to him. He was cutting trees down. And the first thing he did is he started the chainsaw. He goes, what did you come out here to talk about? Oh. Is that like the guy, the dad cleaning his gun on the first date? Right. That's what he was going for? Okay.
Starting point is 00:49:36 And so what do you say to him? What's the line that you use? I said, I love your daughter a lot. I really want to marry her. Can I have your permission? And he said, yeah. Said, absolutely. Then he chased you with a chainsaw around the backyard.
Starting point is 00:49:47 No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, then we had a beer. It was great. He goes, do you want a beer? And I said, yeah, I'm only going to do this once. Let's have a beer. Hey, by the way, I know you love the white claw. I have a lot at my house.
Starting point is 00:50:00 You can come over to the house and just have. Yeah. And not for this, because it's just my refrigerator. Since my party, I have so much alcohol. I don't drink and have so much alcohol that's just sitting in there. And if you don't take it, you can have it. All right. But you have to come get it in the next couple days.
Starting point is 00:50:13 I'm going to donate it. Oh, okay. I'll come after a week today. Say it to Goodwill. Yeah, I'm going to take it over. Drop it off at the food bank. I have a lot of alcohol that it's just going to sit there. So if you guys want it, you got to come get it.
Starting point is 00:50:26 You got it. Um, Haley, thank you for the call. Appreciate you. I hope you have a wonderful day and hope your new year's going good. Okay. Thank you too. All right. See you later. Ramundo, congratulations.
Starting point is 00:50:37 Yep. Yes, so happy for y'all. For a couple reasons. One, we get to stop talking about when are you going to get engaged? And now it's who gets invited. Y'all, people in the room think they ain't going to get invited? Yeah, 70. If you only get 70 and there's six of us in here, only four of us probably gets invited.
Starting point is 00:50:55 Mm-hmm. I feel like everybody's good. You do? Yeah. Oh. I haven't seen the final list. My girl, she's already trimming some of the fat, but I think y'all are good. Is there a chance that some of us end up being the fat?
Starting point is 00:51:07 From what I know, y'all are good. Okay. Congratulations, Dr. Moon. Yes. So our last day of last year, We finished the show, and then I had a podcast that night, and I haven't been able to tell you guys about it, but it was Russell Dickerson and his wife, Kaylee, stopped by the show.
Starting point is 00:55:05 Here's a clip of every little thing from Russell Dickerson. And so they both came in, and they talked about how they've been together for 10 years, but they did break up for a month after Russell got a record deal. That was my mindset, was like, it's about to happen for me. I need to be single. I needed to live the rock star road life, you know.
Starting point is 00:55:27 I literally made out with one girl, and that was I was just like no this isn't for me and I was like yeah okay this is I gotta call Kaylee so wow it's pretty funny and I know her I did know her a little better than I knew him so it's fun to have them both in the house talk about this and he has this song called yours that you may know Russell talked about how it took four years
Starting point is 00:55:55 for this song to go number one because nobody thought the song was a hit four years is when it went number one so four years in between that I got dropped the week we got back from our honeymoon. We went all around town. Everybody said no. This whole time I was like, I'm an artist writer. You know, like, that was what I wanted to do. So it's a really interesting podcast.
Starting point is 00:56:14 And the fact, too, that it was a husband and a wife in, and they were talking about how Russell is so optimistic every single day. He reminds me of SpongeBob and how optimistic he is all the time. And so this is them talking about that. Like I wake up and I'm like, oh, today's going to be freaking awesome. Literally. It would be so good. And he's like, babe, get up. Look up, look outside. The Sun's out. Let's go. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:56:35 Like, he's like a kid on Christmas, like every day. It's insane to me. Yeah, it's crazy. Listen to this podcast. Search Bobbycast, wherever you listen to your podcast. IHartRadio, wherever you listen to it. Search Bobbycast and check it out. It's Russell Dickerson and his wife, Kaylee. And you can, you know, after the show's over today, don't do it until the show's over today, though. Don't leave this show to go do that. So, yeah, check that out. Amy's piles next. Amy, what's happening over there?
Starting point is 00:56:59 So a celebrity announced that she had a baby, and we had no. idea that she was pregnant or expecting or any kind of baby was coming. Is that right? Yeah. You knew? No, but I don't know anything about it. So I don't even care anymore. No, no. We didn't know. Nobody knew. I did. And I think it's the same person that I saw. And
Starting point is 00:57:16 they were like, oh, she had a baby. It's like, oh, good for her. But I didn't know that it was like a secret. Oh, I guessed. I'm going to show up here one day and you're married. You guys won't even know have a girlfriend. I'm like, guys, I'm married. Okay. We did it. Okay. We'll do Amy's Pyle. We'll talk about that coming up next. Here's Amy's pile of stories.
Starting point is 00:57:36 So Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have a new baby daughter named Radix. Now, it's not clear if Cameron got pregnant and just hid the pregnancy the entire time, if they used a surrogate, or if they had adopted. And I don't know that we'll know much more. They said, this is what we're saying. We have a baby girl, but you won't see much of her ever since. We want to keep her life private. It's her life. So they're not going to be posting any pictures or anything.
Starting point is 00:58:00 Cameron is 47. Benji is 40. and this is the first child for both of them. Okay, well, let me unfairly speculate then. Okay. You can go to that? Yeah. One, I forget that she married the dude from Good Charlotte.
Starting point is 00:58:12 Right. That's one of the twins. And good for him. Okay for her, but good for him. Oh, for sure. Two, I would imagine that they surrogate. Yeah, that's what I would think. If she's 47 and they're not sharing it and there have been no pregnancy pictures of her,
Starting point is 00:58:31 has she been hiding from all cameras for the last nine of her? months. Yeah, because her body is so tiny. I don't think she'd be able to hide a pregnancy. Well, good for them. That's cool. Their name is Raddick. The daughter's name Radix. Radix, maybe Rad for short. Yeah, radics. I know it is for sure. I saw that on their Instagram. They're calling a rat. Yeah, yeah. All right, what else? Okay, so there's dry January, which a lot of you maybe have heard of, where you do not drink alcohol for 30 days. And now there is veganuary, where you go vegan for 30 days. It's like a new thing. A lot of people are doing it. And yeah, it means no meat.
Starting point is 00:59:02 no cheese. And if you want to go full vegan, it means you don't wear... No belts. No leather. No shoes. No looking at anything that's... I'm okay. I wish they should do no meat you weary instead of vegan you weary. Not for the name why, but I'm saying it's vegan is like level two. Hardcore, yeah. You take that little step of if you want to not eat meat, take the little step of being a vegetarian for a bit before you try to hit vegan. Yeah. Have milk. But you don't have your beef. Do you ever participate in Meatless Monday? Meatless Monday, my nickname in college actually.
Starting point is 00:59:39 That's what they would call me. I try, you know, there have been so, and I read, I'm constantly reading about meat. Do you? I do, I really do because I try to limit my red meat and have a little bit of turkey fish, chicken, and
Starting point is 00:59:54 depending on your body, some meat's good for some folks, some professional athletes eat no meat at all. So it's all based on who you are. No, I never do meatless Monday, but I will just not eat meat for a few days at a time. My body's not feeling it. I try to really chase my body. I weigh myself three times a day, as I mentioned earlier, but I still try to chase what makes me feel good.
Starting point is 01:00:14 And a lot of red meat just sits in my stomach. Like, I love a big steak, but I treat that like I do a soda at this point. Like I may have a treat a couple a year. Because it takes so long to process. Man, it just sits in there. For me, my body does not run. That meat does not run through me at all. It checks in January and then like, you know, meat-y-May, it comes out.
Starting point is 01:00:36 So, but good. It gives people something. It's actually pretty easy to just eat vegetables after you get to the shock of you're not having meat with every meal. Right. Like plants. And then it's good for you. You're getting a more variety of different foods too. If you just want to try it, you could start easy with a meatless Monday.
Starting point is 01:00:54 Don't even do a whole day. Do a, do a meatless meal? Yes. If you never do it, just try a meal. Good idea. I know a bunch of men who think, oh, I'm having my meat. Right. It's actually all right. I like my meat.
Starting point is 01:01:07 Thank you for being a man that is okay with sticking up for no meat. I'm not sticking up for it. I think everybody's body's different, but I think that I, my body feels good if I, sometimes if I don't eat meat. Okay. All right, what else? Well, do you have a New Year's resolution? I don't really. Not a big resolution guy.
Starting point is 01:01:23 Last year, my goal for 2019 was to comment on people's Instagram pictures more, and I did that. You did. Because I would just take advantage of Instagram and just look at it and not add to it. How rude of you? I know. I was just as a taker, I wasn't a giver. And I do feel that for a lot, I did better. So sometimes I comment on people's, um, Instagrams.
Starting point is 01:01:44 I don't, I don't really. What, I have the top ones for 2020. It's got to be weight and money, right? Oh, yeah, pretty much. Uh, at number five is reduced stress. And number four, lose weight. And number three, eat healthier. Number two, save money.
Starting point is 01:01:58 And number one, exercise more. So very health and money related and little stress, that's health too. The top four are like weight and money, right? Yeah, yep. I'm getting a text here saying there are pictures of Cameron Diaz pregnant. Is that true? No way. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:02:12 I just got a text. I didn't fact check that at all. Okay, well, maybe. I'm going to look it up. Okay, cool. Is that it it, Amy? Yeah, maybe. That's my pile.
Starting point is 01:02:20 That was Amy's pile of stories. Bobby Bones. Yeah. This Cameron Diaz pregnant picture online is from a movie. what to expect when you're expecting in 2011. Yeah. I still stand with, I bet it was a surrogate. Or adoption.
Starting point is 01:02:36 Yeah, she's 47. I would imagine it's that. So, you stop texting me unless you know, because I believe anything our listeners tell me. I just went on, I just went with it. So, um, there you go. Coming up, a volunteer at a pet shelter in Indiana has been walking a pit bull for over six years.
Starting point is 01:02:55 But as of last week, she found out she wouldn't be walking her four-legged friend anymore. Don't worry. It has a good ending. That's coming up and tell me something good. That's your story, Amy. Yeah, and it's good. Okay. And then we'll grab your calls too. We've been gone for a while. So if there's anything you want to update on, hit us up. Sometimes we forget what you want to know. By the way, my phone, I have so many notes from vacation. I just took notes. Everything that happened to me that wanted to talk about, I took a note. Look at this. I have pages of notes. Oh, wow. Okay, can't wait. And my beard's not even on here. You can look at my beard. Yeah, I have to shave it today. I'm
Starting point is 01:03:29 done with it today. You're going to go full shave. You're not even just going to trim it back and then shave. I'm going bare butt. Yeah. It's like babies bare butt. That might hurt, right? Yeah, you got to trim it first. I'm over it. I'm over this beard. I like it. You should keep it, bones. Morgan number two, what do you think about the beer? Be honest. New Year. I don't know. Yeah, me either. I can't decide how I feel. I think I like it, though. I think I'm going to shave it today, though. Ramundo, what do you think? You run a beard sometimes? Yeah, yours has got to go unless you throw some dye in it. What?
Starting point is 01:03:59 No, no, no, don't die your beard. No, then you look like him. Yeah. When he does it. Everyone Raymondo came in with a fully black beard. His hair is not even black and he comes in. He said it's just for men. You can look at it.
Starting point is 01:04:12 Today's the only day it'll be up. So if you go to our Facebook page, Facebook.com slash Bobby Bone Show, you can see my... It's a full beard, though, right? Yeah. Full, full beard. First of them ever had a full beard. Santa.
Starting point is 01:04:22 Pretty proud of my masculinity. You should be. Tell me something good. Comes up next. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So after six years in an Indiana shelter, a 12-year-old pit bull boxer mix named Sandy has found a forever home.
Starting point is 01:04:45 Oh. Yeah, six years. So over half of her life, she was there, and there was a volunteer, Terry, that worked there and walked Sandy all the time. And now she was like, oh, man, I'm glad she found a forever home, but I'm going to miss walking her. So they threw this party to wish Sandy a goodbye, rolled out a redact. rolled out a red carpet for her to walk down to her new family. And yeah, this shelter says that Sandy left behind 80 dogs and 200 cat siblings. And that they, this is like an orphanage.
Starting point is 01:05:13 They don't put any dogs down, any cats down. They keep them. They will live there until they find a home or until they pass away. Wow. So, yeah. Oh, not real blood siblings. No, no, no, no. I was like, holy mother.
Starting point is 01:05:26 People at the dog. That's why I wowed. Not because there were that many animals there. I was like, wow, you're the many brothers and sisters. So shout out to the Marion Grant Humane Society, and they run solely on donations, whether monetary toys or pet food. So there you go. Pretty awesome. That is a good one.
Starting point is 01:05:41 That's what it's all about. That was tell me something good. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bowles. Let's go. Transmitting across America. Over to Amy with the morning corny. Here we go.
Starting point is 01:06:04 The morning corny. What does a the so. eat for breakfast. What is the thesaurus eat for breakfast? A synonym roll. A synonym roll. That's funny. Okay, there you go.
Starting point is 01:06:15 That was the morning corny. Over to Angela and Fayetteville, Arkansas. Angela, good morning. Welcome to the show. What's happening? Great. Good morning, studio. Morning.
Starting point is 01:06:31 I was wondering how you enjoyed the Razorback game this weekend. Well, I tell you, on Saturday night, I went to Fayetteville, went to Arkansas, went to watch the Razorbacks play Texas A&M. I thought about you, Amy, I know that's your school. I'll tell you this too about Texas A&A before I get into the game. After the game was over,
Starting point is 01:06:48 the Texas A&M head basketball coach came out to me. Really funny. I think it was buzz, something, I'm not sure. And he came up and he was like, hey, man, have no idea who you are, but my kids love you. We just take a picture with him. Like, he came out after they lost.
Starting point is 01:06:59 He was so nice. Yeah, because we're on in Clause station. Yeah, Mike, we can Google his name because I don't know him, But it was just a really nice guy. And so, yeah, Buzz Williams, the Texanah basketball coach. And met his kids, great kids. And so it hung on a little bit afterward.
Starting point is 01:07:16 But for me, to go back to Arkansas is really just one of my favorite, like, fill your cup things. Because that's my people. That's my home people. And so I went to the basketball game. And my whole life growing up, I just idolized everything that was Arkansas. Arkansas Razorbacks. We didn't have a pro team. We don't have a pro team.
Starting point is 01:07:39 So everything was about the Arkansas Razorbacks. Football, basketball. And so I got to go. We went to the facilities. I met the new basketball coach. And we hung out with him for a little bit and went and shot. I saw you nailed. This is not really your first shot.
Starting point is 01:07:54 It was nothing but net. Well, again, that's why I was so surprised I went in. On my Instagram, you'll see me. But I got to go on the actual court after the game, too, and shoot around. It was wonderful. They treated me so good And we won Oh
Starting point is 01:08:09 Sorry Aggies Yeah it was good We're pretty good We're pretty good I think we won by a lot Because basketball I think we won by 10 Oh
Starting point is 01:08:16 It's close to The win's a win Amy They let me beat the drum Which is a new Which is a new thing They do now before the game Where they bring out this big drum And you boom
Starting point is 01:08:24 You beat the drum And the crowd goes clap Clap So I beat the drum You're hitting that hard too Yeah I was I didn't know how hard To hit it
Starting point is 01:08:31 You kind of don't know But it was It was really great Like to be back home and get to see everybody and it really filled my cup. If we were doing, and we'll do it in a minute, best and worst, I think possibly my best is going back to Arkansas. And I went to the beach too. Yeah, you did. It's not part of your best?
Starting point is 01:08:53 It's fine. I had a great time. When I was there, it was good. Didn't fill your cup. I'm just not a beach person in general. My favorite thing's not the beach, but I needed to go to go somewhere like that. But yeah, no, it was fantastic. Did you go, Angela, to the game?
Starting point is 01:09:07 No, I didn't. I watched it on TV. We went to our Fayetteville radio station before the show, and I just went in. I was like, hey, I'm going to hop on the air here. And so, I know. And so I did, like, a 30-minute talk show from the local Fayetteville station on Saturday. It was fun. I really, really, really had a great time.
Starting point is 01:09:22 And Coach Musselman at the University of Arkansas was super nice. And it was great. His last name's Muscleman? Well, yes. That's kind of cool when you're an athlete and you're like, name's Musselman. Met the new football coach. Got to hang out with him for a little bit.
Starting point is 01:09:37 Y'all talk strategy? Oh, I was like, here's it. Coach, we got to do more. There's already a new one? Yeah. I thought you just said, we're hanging out the other one. Oh. Like, you just had started, like, y'all texted and stuff.
Starting point is 01:09:49 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Do you have this guy's number now? No, but I have Coach Musselman's number. He gave me his... Nice. He was like, here. So, anyway, it was great. I love Arkansas.
Starting point is 01:09:57 Don't be coaching these guys. Don't be texting these guys in the game. Oh, great. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's get a little eyesout. Let's get a triangle. Hold on a triangle, coach. Try this plate.
Starting point is 01:10:07 Angela, thank you for calling. Was your break good? Everything good with you? Yes, it was great. Getting back to work today. What was the best part of your Christmas New Year's break, Angela? Just spending time with family. It was a real quiet one this year.
Starting point is 01:10:22 A quiet one this year, huh? Yeah, both my kids got married, so I had to share them this year. Oh, no. Did they all come to you, though, at Christmas, or did they go to? to their wives, their husbands' places? Well, we did ours the Sunday before Christmas, and then my son and daughter-in-law came on Christmas morning, but my daughter-in-law lives in Litter Rock.
Starting point is 01:10:43 I mean, my daughter lives in Litter-Rock. Kind of wish they didn't get married, huh? No, she loves to. Okay. Well, Angela, thank you for calling. Have a great day. You too. All right, see you later.

Starting point is 01:14:39 Let's go to Jessica in Maryland, who's on the phone. Hey, Jessica, thanks for calling the Bobby Bone Show. What's going on? Hey, Jessica, you're on the air. Oh, hi. This is me. Oh, my gosh, I'm so excited about this studio. Hey, morning, morning.
Starting point is 01:14:58 I just wanted to call and thank you guys so much for everything that you do. For the last year and a half, I've been driving a two-hour commute one way in the morning. And you guys have gotten me through some of the worst commutes through Baltimore and D.C. And I just wanted to call and thank you guys so much for that. You were driving two hours one way? One way, yes. How many days a week? Five days a week.
Starting point is 01:15:29 Wow. That's crazy. You're spending four hours driving a day? Yeah. Yeah, four hours a day in my car every day. So I spend a lot of time listening to you guys, a lot of time listening to the Bobbycast and a bunch of other podcasts. Holy moly. Are you driving less now or no?
Starting point is 01:15:47 I'm driving. Yeah, I will be driving less. I'll be working from home. Goodness. Oh, well, goodbye. Now we lost her. Thanks for us. It was a good run, Jessica.
Starting point is 01:15:58 My Alexa is ready. She's all ready for us. So we're good. Well, we appreciate you spending time with us in your car. For your mental health, I'm glad you're not driving two hours to and from. What kind of job is this again where you have to drive that far? It's a nonprofit job. Wow.
Starting point is 01:16:16 She's amazing. Driving to help others. I'd have been like, you know, they're good. They can wait. I'm going to find a different job, sir. Well, Jessica, thank you. Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year. Appreciate you calling us.
Starting point is 01:16:26 Good luck with being able to work. from home. Don't forget us. Okay. We're going to lose you a little bit. I can tell already, but don't forget us, okay? I won't forget you guys. Thank you guys so much. All right, see you later. Got a couple things coming up. We'll open a mailbag. The email is, my husband acts like a baby when he's sick.
Starting point is 01:16:44 We'll open up that mailbag. We'll also do the Bobby Bone Show Crystal Wall, where I will ask questions in regards to this coming up year, and we'll answer it on how we think it'll all land. Also, this woman is scammed 73. $20,000 by a psychic.
Starting point is 01:16:59 Because she said, I know. Which reminds me to get your cousin back on to give me another psychic reading this year. Okay. Because last year, she was pretty accurate about a lot of that stuff. Right. Yeah. She was.
Starting point is 01:17:11 Yeah. I hope it's not the same girl that's scamming people. No, no, no, no. All that coming up here, the Bobby Bones show. Back in a second. Bobby Bones. It's the Bobby Bones show. So if you're writing checks or you're signing any document,
Starting point is 01:17:31 they say don't sign. sign it with 20 at the end. You know, you do like 4, 19, 20, because of the year 2020, do all 20, do 2020 all. Because if you just put the 20, you can make it in a year. It turns into 2000.
Starting point is 01:17:46 They can be 2019. So let's say you did today's date, which is 1, 620. Someone could go 1, 620 and then put an 18 behind it. It'll be 2018. And then it's a dead document or they could forge and change. the date on there.
Starting point is 01:18:03 Oh, wow. Sneaky. So they're saying right out the full year because the date is easily changeable. So there you go. Do you know that? I did not.
Starting point is 01:18:11 There you go. The more you know, a little tip for you right there. No, I will. We'll open up the mailbag here. Bobby's Mailbag. Does your husband turn into a baby when he gets sick?
Starting point is 01:18:24 No, he doesn't talk about it. I won't even know. But I do know of friends like who have husbands that become big time babies. It's the thing. You can call us too if you hear this and it strikes a chord. 877-Bobby.
Starting point is 01:18:39 Hey, Bobby, my husband likes it when I take care of him, especially when he's down with a man cold, as he calls it. However, he can become a terrible baby when he gets sick. And sometimes I suspect that he's overreacting. I'm happy to take care of my husband when he gets sick, but I can no longer tolerate his groaning about it. He's not dying. and I'm so over him behaving like the world is coming to an end just because of a simple illness.
Starting point is 01:19:06 I feel like a terrible wife when I tend to him while feeling resentful at the same time. I don't mean to draw any comparisons, but one time we both happened to have a cold. I was busy cleaning the kitchen. He stayed in bed dying. Oh, wow. That sucks. I have a high pain and sick threshold, but I just put on a brave face and keep going. Any advice on how to deal with him acting like a baby when he's sick?
Starting point is 01:19:28 That's the email. Yeah, here's the advice Is that he will take care of you at times Maybe when you're not sick in other instances And your time to take care of him is probably when he's sick We all have times where we aren't feeling our best It can be sick, it can be sad, it can be injured But we all have our weak spots
Starting point is 01:19:50 And we depend on the person that's with us To take care of us in those moments Now I would assume this is when he's the biggest baby I would also assume that you She didn't put her name here We'll call her Heather that you have, they have a time
Starting point is 01:20:02 that you also need something. Need to be taken care of. When you get emotional about something, he happens to be baby when he's sick. Maybe you get emotional
Starting point is 01:20:11 when, I don't need this puppy commercial. I will remember you. I don't know. My point is we all have a time we need to be taken care of
Starting point is 01:20:19 and this is his. And you shouldn't sick shame him. I'm not just saying. Oh, wow. You shouldn't sick shame him. Okay. That's my advice is
Starting point is 01:20:30 this is one he knows. needs it, so you give it to him, and he gives it to you whenever you need it in another area. It just doesn't happen to be when you're sick. Amy, what do you think? Yeah, I agree. Hopefully it comes full circle for you. If this is what he needs, then you should be there for him, and he will appreciate it, and it'll come back around to you when you need it.
Starting point is 01:20:47 I agree. Cammy in Arkansas, you're on the Bobby Bone Show. What do you think about this? Good morning, show. Morning. Ooh, studio. Come on, guys. I was just trying to give her one.
Starting point is 01:20:58 Morning studios. Morning. Morning. I was just calling to let you guys know that this is my first call getting a hold of you guys. And I am from Senator to Arkansas, and my husband is the biggest baby. He come home one morning from work, and he told me, he goes, you know, that one time you were in labor, I was like, yeah. And he's like, I feel just like that. And I just was like, there's no way.
Starting point is 01:21:24 But how do you know there's no way? Because there's just no way. You can't prove it. You can't. You're right. I can't prove it, but I had 100% natural birth, and there's no way he felt that bad. You're probably right. Listen, Cammy, I also agree with you.
Starting point is 01:21:39 These, holy crap. But what did you do? Did you take care of him and get him through it, or what? Well, I actually tuned in to our son. I told him, well, let's suck it up. I'm sure you're doing great. And what did you think about the email that was sent in where she's like, my husband's a baby. What do I do?
Starting point is 01:21:56 I say, depending on how sick he is, maybe take care of him that if you have children, you better tend to your children first. So just leave them out there. Oh, wow. Wait, why? Why tend to the children first? Well, because sometimes, depending the age of your child, they might be more needy. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:22:15 Well, Cammy, how long you've been married? I actually, on New Year's Day, I've been married nine years. Oh, wow, look at you. New Year's Day. Amy's anniversary was New Year's Eve. New Year's Eve, 13 years. Oh, awesome. Wow, 13 years ago.
Starting point is 01:22:29 Anniversary. Thank you. Well, Cammy, thank you for calling. I hope you have a wonderful day. All right. Thank you. You guys, too. All right.
Starting point is 01:22:36 See you later. Do you know the anniversary gift for 13? Let me guess. Is it a thing? Yeah, I mean, I looked it up. 13 is an unlucky number. Oh. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:22:46 I'm going to say a broken mirror. No. The traditional one is lace. And the more modern... What do you want me to get you? I don't know. The modern one is textile or fur, which textile is like fabric.
Starting point is 01:23:01 any kind of fabric reversal. Weird. 13 is good year. So I got my husband new seats for his old truck. Like his old truck, they needed to be re-apulstered. So get it? Textile. Made it a fox or what?
Starting point is 01:23:13 No, no. Just fabric. Like upholstery. So that was, I tried to stick with the theme. He did not, but it's fine. I went over to Amy's house on Christmas Day for a little bit. And I went to take her kids, their gifts. I guess your gift, too.
Starting point is 01:23:25 Yeah. And I had yours. And I went to take Amy's kids or gifts. And I guess I went over like three or four in the afternoon. And so Amy's like, what are you going to do for vacation? I didn't have a plan. No plan. It's Christmas Day. No plan.
Starting point is 01:23:36 I had no plan. We were leaving the next day. Everybody had flights booked. No plan. Mommy goes, you should go here. And I was like, all right. And she goes, and this is the hotel you should go to. And I was like, all right. So I go home.
Starting point is 01:23:48 And I booked it all. And within an hour, I booked it. And that's how I picked where I ended up going. Like an hour later, he texted me. He's like, everything's booked. And I started immediately getting a little bit hot. Like, I didn't really. I was like, I didn't know what that was legit.
Starting point is 01:24:00 you were going to just book it. I had nowhere to go. I started freaking out and getting nervous that what if you go and you have a horrible time and it's not. Did I fully vet the hotel and what did we think? I mean, I literally, it was from us talking in the kitchen and a quick Google search and Bobby booked it. That's how you could tell I had no idea what I was going to do. I had no plan. And I was like, Amy, what do I do?
Starting point is 01:24:18 And it was near a place where her kids, it was near Haiti. It was down there. So I booked it. It was good. I'm just not really a beach guy in general. But went, it was like an Eddie vacation. That's what, that's what you told me. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:34 I was like, how's it going? You're like, you would love it. What's up? And I was like, dude, you would love it. It's not what I asked. Well, what day was it like, I don't even know what day you're on, day two, day three. You're like, I haven't left my hotel room. Oh, Amy Techman.
Starting point is 01:24:47 She's like, what's happening? He hadn't even gone to the beach. It was late in day two and it hadn't left my hotel room. They have friends on TV? Guess what? No, he'd been working. I've been riding. I was riding.
Starting point is 01:24:56 Which is good. I'm glad you could be in a quiet place where you could write and I think writing is good for you and you need to do that and you're working on some stuff. So I was fine with that because it's like it's work, but it was work and at least to like really, you know, calm, peaceful place. Go to my answering. I mean, you can see me. I did go to the beach the final day. The last day. The last day. He got it all in one day. I got it all in. Did you snorkel?
Starting point is 01:25:21 I did. I did that the day before. I got on a boat, went out and just put the mask. It was fun. It was good. You just put the mask on? Did you go underwater? Did you go under to the, to the, you don't go over that tube. You gotta breathe, yeah. But the salt, ugh. The ocean.
Starting point is 01:25:37 That's the ocean, Bobby. So you do not like sand or saltwater? I would go underwater and I would come up like, ugh. But was it beautiful? I can Google image stuff. No, no, no. That's not the point. When you're there, it's different.
Starting point is 01:25:51 Okay, did you relax? Do you feel like you vacationed? Yeah. I don't know. I don't know how to take a vacation. I really don't know how to... I don't know how to go and... Decompress, really.
Starting point is 01:26:04 Okay. I love going to... But you're smart. I know you can figure it out. I love to go into the Arkansas Razorback game and just going back to Arkansas and that was fun for me. I had fun at the beach, that whole thing.
Starting point is 01:26:17 But the Arkansas game was really great for me. That was great. Next year, we're just booking you a trip to Arkansas. Yeah, just go back and... Stay at this hotel. Which is great. But you need to... to relax.
Starting point is 01:26:28 David, you're on the air. David, appreciate you for calling. Yeah, let's get David on here. David, how are you, bud? Morning. Hey, morning. What's happening? Hi.
Starting point is 01:26:42 David, you're on the air, bro. Morning, studio. Morning. Morning. Yeah. Wait, listen, we're all struggling. He wanted us to see. We're back from vacate.
Starting point is 01:26:51 But he, he, like, struggled. He was like, morning. Studio. Right, I know. Hit us, wait it. But that's why he was pausing earlier because he thought he was waiting for us. All right.
Starting point is 01:27:01 Listen, we're all dragging. Not even dragon. We're all a little off because we've been gone for so long. David, you're on the air. What's up, buddy? Yeah, I was calling because doctors have actually studied this one, and they found that the male immune response is actually more aggressive when we're sick.
Starting point is 01:27:18 And so the worst immune response, the worse you actually feel, so men actually do feel worse, even if they get the same thing as a woman. Interesting. Yeah, I agree with that. Yeah, me too. I've never looked that up, but I'm agreeing with this caller. He's right. Who did this study?
Starting point is 01:27:32 Who? penis? I think it might have been NIH, which is masterful and food of health. Oh, I can check me on that. Amy, don't hate it. You just hate it because you don't agree. Yeah, because I just don't think that the male immune system has a harsher response. But why do you think?
Starting point is 01:27:50 I don't know. It just doesn't feel good to you, so you're going, I don't agree with it. Don't do fake news when you don't know, only because it hits you wrong. So I need to, I will accept this, and I need you all to expect, except what you can't feel, which is hormones from a girl. Okay, except two that when I get hit in the nads, it's probably as bad as having a baby. Okay. Oh, boy, you said that.
Starting point is 01:28:12 That's just so not true. I don't think that's true, by the way. But you don't know. Who knows the difference? Who knows? David, appreciate that insight into the medical journal. Yes. In regards to illness in male versus female.
Starting point is 01:28:27 Yes. Absolutely. And I appreciate you guys. It's been free. you get into talk to. All right, thanks, man. Have a good day. A new analysis say that respiratory illnesses may hit men harder than women.
Starting point is 01:28:41 There are many physiological differences between men and women, so it makes sense that we could differ in responses to cold and flu viruses. Okay. So there we have it. Are you reading a study there? Yeah, it's from the NIH. National Institute of Wikipedia. Some guy named Alan Moses's photo article.
Starting point is 01:28:58 Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. It's National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health. Perfect. There you go. So when we get sick, take care of boo-boo. Okay. Okay. When I have a crazy time of the month, take care of me. We do. We do. We do. We do here. We do. We do. We do. Okay. Coming up in a second, we will do Merrin Morris the Bones. We will open up the Bobby Boneshow Crystal Ball. Questions in the Crystal Ball. Questions in the Crystal Ball like, in 2020 will Amy expand her family.
Starting point is 01:29:26 Oh. This is an interesting conversation. Well, and that's the first question on the Crystal Ball that we'll get into. And I believe we have. Crystal Ball music. Raymondo, can I hear some of that crystal ball music? It's so we're talking about crystal ball. This is what a... Ooh, it's a harp. No, it's a crystal ball.
Starting point is 01:29:41 All right, right, right. We'll do those coming up next. Get your Bobby bones on. A woman claiming to be a psychic stole more than $70,000 from a client. By telling the woman their 10-year-old daughter was possessed and she needed the money to banish that spirit. Oh, man. 37-year-old Tracy,
Starting point is 01:30:11 Milanovic is charged with obtaining property by trick. Is that a charge? Yeah. Yes, it is. And so, yeah, she said, hey, I need to have a cleanse your daughter. And all in all, it costs $70,000. Isn't that crazy? I saw another story to a woman in New Jersey was full by a Nigerian scammer who was posing
Starting point is 01:30:31 as Jordan Knight from New Kids on the Block. Oh, wow. Which I couldn't believe she fell for that. Because when I fell for Joe of New Kids on the Block, do it fall for Jordan. You know? Little Joe. Yeah. A woman in New Jersey was fooled by a Nigerian scammer. She is 42 years old.
Starting point is 01:30:48 She cashed a check that she believed was sent to her by the new kids on the block boy, Jordan Knight. Because I don't know how these... Oh. Wow. That's a weird pick that he picked Jordan Knight. Cynthia Salvador received a phone call from someone who introduced himself as Jordan Knight from New Kids and wanted her to send a $2,000 a $2,000 a check. to a charity in Nigeria.
Starting point is 01:31:13 I feel bad for these people. So bad. I know. And this person didn't have an accent? It is me, Jordan. You kids on the block. Because they say that's the number one. Like, normally you won't have conversations with these.
Starting point is 01:31:28 We have smash hits like. You're right stuff. We got their right stuff. Maybe. They're hanging tough. Oh, no. Maybe you heard that. Do you know, Donnie?
Starting point is 01:31:39 He's on Blue Bloods now. Great TV show. No, he's not on Blue Blood. Mark, which one's on Blue Blood? Yes, Donnie. Did you see Donnie Wahlberg? Did you see Donnie Wahlberg? He went out and he had a dinner, I think, on New Year's Eve night and left the waitress.
Starting point is 01:31:52 Yes. $2,020 for 2020. Like I hopped. I got it. I had a little debate yesterday with some guy. I didn't know the guy, but he ended up being from radio, from a radio station in Chicago. And he replied, he was irritated at people for doing like, the tip challenge and showing it on Twitter.
Starting point is 01:32:13 I definitely want to represent him fairly here because I presented a counter opinion. His name is Mick Lee. He said, why can't people just do a good deed and not share it on social media? Nice. You tip that server 45%. Stop looking for a pat on the back and just do it. Hashtag tip challenge. So this was my response to, I don't know them, but sometimes I get really irritated.
Starting point is 01:32:35 Because I think you can brag all you want. because as long as you're doing something good, the brag doesn't cost anybody anything. It doesn't hurt anybody, but if you're doing something good for somebody, that's tangible good they're getting from it. And so I said, I would say that it literally,
Starting point is 01:32:52 and I use that word in a true sense, hurts no one when someone posts the brag and can actually inspire someone to replicate the act because it's what happened with the person who did it. They had to see it in order to tip someone extra. Right. And that was my point there. I said, so the positive far outweighs the negative.
Starting point is 01:33:07 And then when we went back and forth, they said, I'd say if you're posting something to inspire, then sure, go ahead. If you're posting for likes, retweets or pat on the back, then you're doing it for the wrong reason. And I said, nothing is lost by bragging. Zero. It's like athletes doing charity for tax write-off. Who cares? People are benefiting. People are getting help when they weren't. That's the end of the story. Is the charity going to be like, oh, whoa, whoa, are you doing this for tax write-off? Because if so, we don't want it. There is a literally no downside to you going, I did the tip challenge, and I gave 45% extra. The only downside, I guess, is Mickley gets irritated.
Starting point is 01:33:41 And if it's Mickley being irritated versus someone being tipped extra, I would be irritated all day long. So there just is no, there's no downside at all to someone bragging about what they do. You can be irritated and stop following them if you don't like it. But if they're helping, there's zero, there's nothing that's happened in a wrong way. And also this person who did, I guess he saw someone do it and was like, oh, stop bragging. they had to be inspired by seeing the hashtag tip challenge to even do it. Right.
Starting point is 01:34:09 Right. To be a part of it. Mm-hmm. So. And that's what we've said too about sometimes when listeners do if they're spreading joy. And they hashtag pimping joy or whatever. They're not bragging about it. It's more to spread the movement and inspire.
Starting point is 01:34:22 And anytime you do something, that's your goal is to inspire if it gets talked about. And there's so much that you do. And probably that all of these other people do that maybe post about it once. There's like 10 other things they've done that they don't talk about in that year. whatever. I think if you do something and you want to talk about it, and great, because there's nothing lost in you talking about it.
Starting point is 01:34:43 If you're inspiring or bragging or whatever, but what can be gained is someone see it and go, oh, well, I saw them do it, I should do something like that too. It's all gained. There's nothing lost there. It hadn't really, and it definitely wasn't a Twitter fight. I was just like, oh, this is a counter opinion to what you're saying. But back in the day, he was getting real
Starting point is 01:34:59 fights on Twitter. But you kept it. I loved it, though. I used to get it. I'm mature now. I'll be 40 this year, so I'm trying not to do that. I'm trying not to fight. That was old to you. Although it was exciting. A little bit I was like, I'm going to get in this.
Starting point is 01:35:12 I didn't. I just presented a counter opinion other than going, hey, idiot. Because I didn't feel like it was an idiot. I just didn't feel like it was that thought out. That makes sense? Yeah, it makes sense. New you. I love it.
Starting point is 01:35:24 No, not new me. Same me. Just trying to maintain that same me. Okay. Because when I get competitive, I go lizard brain. Remember what lizard brain is? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Reptiles, they don't respond, they react.
Starting point is 01:35:37 That's why all the, you see them, they're moving so quickly because they're not taking time to process and they're not responding to situations that are reacting. We have the same part in our brain that reptiles do, but we should work to not react, but to respond. Take a second and don't go reptile instead of reacting, which a lot of times is not the right thing to do. Take a second, let it sit and then respond.
Starting point is 01:36:01 And I'm, my New Year's resolutions are one, be on my phone more. So strange. And two, to really dial into responding instead of reacting. But I was doing that last year too. I guess it's just kind of to maintain that. Okay. And also maybe find a new ab.
Starting point is 01:36:19 So I have more abs. That's the goal. Starting point is 01:40:06 do it for likes and for social status. You do it out of the goodness of your heart. And I think when you post it on social media or four likes or however you want to do it, it kind of, it makes it a hollow point to do a good deed. You do good deeds because you don't want to be anybody to know that you do it. like buying somebody's meal at a restaurant or something like that. You see a veteran, you buy their meal and you don't tell them. Nobody knows about it.
Starting point is 01:40:35 That's the kind of my idea of a good deed. And when you go out there and you post it on social media, it's like you're just wanting lights. I think that in theory, that's a wonderful Mr. Rogers type look at it. I wish the world was a better place. However, let me ask you this, Brandon. Let's say you did it and it was great. And I like your story. you bought a veteran a meal and he got a meal and that was it.
Starting point is 01:40:59 Or you did it and you posted about it and nine other people saw it and bought veterans meals too. Which one would you rather have happen? I get that point and I agree to a certain extent to that. But at the same time, what if you say, hey, let's, you get with your community and you say, hey, let's do something for the veterans and let's all go buy a veteran a meal or something like that. There's other avenues to make it spread versus posting it and getting likes from it. I guess is my point. I have no problem with people posting everything good in the whole world because it's free and people and it inspires other people to do it. Even if one person is inspired just by writing it out, brag away.
Starting point is 01:41:42 Everybody brag away. Because if it's going to create more good, brag until your little heart falls out. I don't even care if you don't do it for the right reason. As long as somebody else is getting the benefit of your charity work that needs it, I don't care why you do it. I don't care. If you do it, you're an awful person and you want the likes or you do it because you want to inspire people. As long as somebody is benefiting, I just know that when I was a kid and I was poor, people were taking care of me.
Starting point is 01:42:04 And sometimes they took care of me just to get what they would call clout now. And I'm totally okay with that. Like, you want to brag at church because you brought me gifts as a kid at church? Great. I still got Christmas gifts because you wanted to brag. I'll take it all day long. So, yeah, I have no issue with that. Brandon, I get your point, and I think in a perfect world that is good and it makes sense.
Starting point is 01:42:27 But brag away, man. Bragg all your knees, what I say. Hey, appreciate that call there. Where do you live? I went to Baldosta, Georgia. Is that Title Town? It is Title Town. Yep.
Starting point is 01:42:39 I used to do. What's Title Town? I did college football play about play, and we would go down to Baldasta and get beat a lot. Oh. Okay. We used to go down there. Brandon, good to talk to you, bud. You too.
Starting point is 01:42:51 You all have a great day. All right. See you later. We'll come back. We've got to tell me something good. Lunchbox has this coming up. Police in Arizona stepped up in a big way to help out a two-year-old girl with a heart defect. She was stuck at home missing out on. I want her favorite things to see.
Starting point is 01:43:02 So these officers stepped in. What they brought to her is pretty awesome. He has that story next. Earlier in the show, we caught you up that Ramundo got engaged to his girlfriend after six years of being together. There's a big Christmas thing here in town, and Ramundo goes and buys tickets for it. And then he actually emailed them and said, hey, can I get that Jumbotron? And so on the Jumbotron inside this big Christmas show,
Starting point is 01:43:36 what'd they write on the screen, Ramuda? Bay, will you marry me? And then did, was she surprised? Totally shocked. You can hear, I did a video, the audio wasn't great for radio, but in the video, you can see her. She literally gasps. I mean, I don't know how much more of a surprise you can hope for.
Starting point is 01:43:53 So they're engaged. They will be getting married in October, it sounds like. That's the plan. We check with families, make your dates work. The plan. The plan on this engagement was two years. long. But something else that happened to Ray Mundo was he got a Christmas gift from Sam Hunt.
Starting point is 01:44:07 Yeah, randomly, I got a box here to the station, and it was all wrapped up. It was a huge box, and he gave me basketball shoes and one of the coats that he loves wearing. I don't even know if it was maybe his that he was wearing. Just gifted him both to me. They were new. I don't know. That coat looked like the one he wore in studio. Right, so he probably got you one like his, right? He's a lot bigger than you. Like, Sam's probably 6-2 or 6-3. You're 5-6. He looked like a dress on you It was dope though man All Saints I think it's an expensive brand
Starting point is 01:44:36 He just straight hooked it up and a note too What the note say? You said let's play ball sometime Trying the basketball shoes And just let's hang out man I appreciate the support Sam Hunt's 6-3 In your 5-6
Starting point is 01:44:49 His clothes wouldn't not It would look like daddy's clothes Yeah you're right But we'll look good on the court together I mean me the point guard He'd down low in the post You think you play ball with them I got to practice a little bit
Starting point is 01:45:00 I've been shot a ball in years. Just get the Jay back and I'll be fine. The Jay. What's he saying? Jumper. Taylor and West Virginia is on the phone. Taylor, what's happening with you? How are you?
Starting point is 01:45:11 Oh, nothing. I just showed up at work. Okay. What can I help you with? Yeah. I have a kind of a dilemma going on between my husband and his parents and I. We have a seven-year-old daughter and she's adores Dustin Lynch. and they don't think it's appropriate.
Starting point is 01:45:30 It was appropriate for me to tell her on Christmas Day that when our taxes come, I'm going to buy her tickets to do the meet and greet. What do y'all think? Is seven too young to take her to a meet and greet? Well, I think it depends who. With Dustin Lynch? No, I think it's great. I think it's fine.
Starting point is 01:45:47 Yeah. Dustin's a good one to take a seven-year-old too because he is a good dude and his songs are good. Yeah. Yeah, you can take a piece. pictures, your kid will have it forever. It's like slip-knot, and then we've got an issue. I guess I'm confused what they're concerned about.
Starting point is 01:46:05 I don't know. They're kind of conservative, I guess you could say, but she told me before Christmas she wanted to sell all for toys so she can go to his concert. Oh, wow. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:46:16 Where is Dustin doing this show? We haven't chose yet. Do you know if he's doing one close to you? I don't know. I haven't really looked anything up yet. I just know that when we get our tactics back, I'm going to look. Okay, well, let us know if he's coming close to you, and I don't think there's anything wrong with taking your kid to see Dustin Lynch.
Starting point is 01:46:41 No, no. She'd love them. Yeah. Where does she live? Oh, she, what is it? We'll let you get into work. We appreciate you calling, though, okay? All right, thank you.
Starting point is 01:46:52 Let that seven-year-old meet Dustin Lynch. He's the one I would let her meet. All right, see you later. There you go. you guys hanging out with us. Lunchbox is tell me something good. It comes up in about 10 seconds, 55 after. We're a little late today. Every hour, though, we do this segment right here. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Tell me something good. There's this family in Gilbert, Arizona. A couple times a year, they always go up to the mountains
Starting point is 01:47:24 because their kids love the snow and they like to play in it, have a snowball fight. Well, this year, their two-year-old daughter has a heart defect. And the doctor said this year, I don't think she can go because, you know, it's too stressful on her heart. So the family was sad. They posted about it on Facebook, and the local police department saw it. And they ordered two tons of snow and delivered it to their house.
Starting point is 01:47:45 What? Yeah, was it Amazon that delivered it? Yeah, and they just drop all this snow off at the house so the girl can play in the snow. I had no idea that was even possible. That's so cool. No, Amy's going to do it. I know.
Starting point is 01:47:56 But, yeah, shout out. What town is this? Gilbert, Arizona. Wow. So shout out to the police officers there. How much is snow? I don't know. I'm going to go right now.
Starting point is 01:48:07 Let me look at the market. That's a great story. Shout out to those guys. And I'm looking at her here in a leopard jacket, sitting on the snow, and she just looks so happy. So shout out to those police officers for making that happen.
Starting point is 01:48:17 That is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Bobby Bones. All right, so we'll look into the Bobby Bones show, Crystal Ball. These are questions sent to us by listeners, and we'll just kind of all answer these and see what we think.
Starting point is 01:48:33 Looking into the Crystal Ball. here we go. The Bobby Bones show, Crystal Ball. It's a little redundant. Can we get the Crystal Ball theme, please? What country artist will win Entertainer of the Year in 2020 as we look into the Crystal Ball? I'll go out now and say Luke Combs.
Starting point is 01:48:58 Yeah, that's a good guess. He's never won, ever been nominated for Entertainer of the Year, but I'm going to go Luke Combs wins it this year. Or I'm going to go Luke or Care. People will be irritated. She didn't win last year and like step up doubly. That's what I was thinking. That's what I was thinking. You said yes to them. I wasn't thinking Luke Combs. I was thinking Carrie yet.
Starting point is 01:49:18 Oh, okay. I'm going to say Luke Combs are Carrie Underwood. Go ahead. Well, you took, can I take someone different or do I do Carrie Underwood? You can do whatever you want? Carry Underwood. Would you have said that before I gave my reason? Yes. Do you promise? She's the first person that came into my mind, Carrie and Luke Bryan.
Starting point is 01:49:33 And I don't know what Carrie's doing this year as far as... She's on tour, right? I don't know if she's announced a new tour. No. So no, I don't know. I don't know if she's putting in new music. I have no idea. So I'm going to say Luke Combs or Carrie without knowing what Carrie's doing.
Starting point is 01:49:46 Oh, she has a book coming out. That's true. A book. Amy, uh, lunchbox, who's going to entertainer the year? Sam Hunt. He's going on tour, new music. I'm going to crush it. Sales are going to be through the roof.
Starting point is 01:49:57 Entertainer the Year. Eddie? I think a lot of promise goes to John Party. I think he's going to have a big year this year. You think he's entertaining to year? Yeah. Random, yes, random. I love him, but yeah.
Starting point is 01:50:07 Okay. Yeah, that's a very, that's a very, that's a very, bold. Will there be a friends reunion in 2020? I go first. Yes. I'll say not officially. But I think they'll probably all get together and do something.
Starting point is 01:50:24 Okay. That's what I think happens with the friends reunion. Eddie, what do you think? 100%. Yes, there's too much on social media and a bunch of hype going around it, yes. Well, here's the thing too. They've taken it off Netflix and they've put it on NBC Universal, I think, or whatever. Right.
Starting point is 01:50:38 Oh, it's HBO? HBO. Which is, by the way, is owned by NBC or no? It's not? Well, I think that because of the shift, there'll be some new thing that they get paid to do because there's been a change in scenery. Got it. But you're going not officially.
Starting point is 01:50:54 I'm going to go no, but they'll do something-ish. Or they'll all show up together and do something. Like a press conference or something. Oh, I was, no. I mean, unless they do a show, I don't count that as a reunion. If they're all like, you know, take a picture together, that doesn't really. really count. I think they're just doing it to advertise them moving to what you said, HBO streaming. They'll need to be paid a lot to do that. And they did all get together on Instagram last year.
Starting point is 01:51:19 Let's see. Will Bobby get a girlfriend? Let's look into the crystal ball here. Will Bobby get a girlfriend, Amy? Yes. Oh, you have faith in me for 20? It's a whole year. So we're looking at a bunch of time. Right. And I think 2020, I think this is the year. You also turn 40. There's a lot that's going to be happening. You've been working on yourself, yourself as a couple. You as a significant other to someone. You've been going to therapy with a couple's therapist. Alone, by the way. Right, alone.
Starting point is 01:51:45 So this is the year. I think the answer is yes, too. Oh, wow. Have you ever said yes to this? I don't know. But I think the answer is yes to this one too. Lunchbox said no. No, Bobby said he was going to get married last year and what happened?
Starting point is 01:52:02 Nothing. I mean, there was no prospects. I mean, we haven't heard anything about dating anyone. So, I mean, there's just no hope. Eddie? You've been doing a lot of self-help stuff and you just said yes to your own question. So I think that's a big deal. Yes, it's happening. Will Amy expand her family in 2020 into the crystal ball? Amy, you have two kids. You've adopted two kids?
Starting point is 01:52:24 Yes. They've been here now basically two years. And has this been a conversation? Well, for my husband, it has been. He actually, we were talking to somebody else and I overhear him say to someone that he would like to adopt more kids or have more, but I'm not. I'm not. And I'm like, when did we have this conversation? He's right. I'm not ready. But apparently he is. So this is something I might need to be open to. I'm not sure what's happening there. But it is a conversation on his side, which makes it a conversation.
Starting point is 01:52:58 What do you think? I don't know, you won't get a kid this year. But I think that you'll probably decide that you're going to adopt. Like a baby? No, I don't think a baby. Okay. I'm looking at my best of my husband. My husband is having that. What do they have when you want a baby?
Starting point is 01:53:18 Baby fever? Oh, wow. Oh, is he want a baby baby baby? I don't know. He's just talking about babies all the time now, and I don't know what's happening. I have, there's one about Eddie, too, because Eddie, your family, you have two foster kids. Please tell me it's not. Will Eddie expand his family?
Starting point is 01:53:33 It says, will Eddie become his foster kids' legal parents? Oh, okay, that's a good question. I'm going to not let you answer this because I know that unless you want to answer it. No, go ahead. You guys take it. But what? So Eddie has two foster kids. What, you don't like that?
Starting point is 01:53:45 I don't know. I'm torn in it because I'm like, oh, if this is the year or yes, that happens, it just means. I'm sure Eddie, you agree with me that it's hard for this. Like, even with my kids, sometimes I think about their birth parents and it's hard that they're not with them. And if Eddie does legally become their kids, that means that their birth parents couldn't get it together. That's a bummer. But I'm thankful for Eddie and his family. So what do you think?
Starting point is 01:54:09 I think the answer is yes. I think Eddie becomes his foster kids legal parents. I was talking to, I was a friend of Eddie and I, his name Adam, we were out this weekend. He went to Arkansas with me to the game. And I was talking about, he's like, how's Eddie? I was like, man, he's great. I was like, I don't know that I've ever seen him happier. And he has four kids now.
Starting point is 01:54:29 That's crazy. But I don't know I've ever seen Eddie happier as a person than when he has. his two kids and his two foster kids. And Eddie have known each other for a long time. So I think the answer is yes. I think you do become their legal, their legal guardian parent this year. Do you want to answer that or no? I mean, I could just say either way, it'd be great.
Starting point is 01:54:50 I mean, I would love for that to happen. But at the same time, I just, it's out of my hands. I'm just playing my role. That's it, dude. How did Christmas go with the foster kids? It was your first Christmas with them. Awesome. Amazing.
Starting point is 01:55:01 I mean, yeah, the older foster kid, it was. his first Christmas, and he's four, but it was his first real Christmas. He's never celebrated Christmas before. So he had a blast. He loved it. And we got to see all our different, my parents and then my wife's parents and then different families. So I guess technically he had four Christmases, which I told him this isn't normal. Wow. But he loved it, yeah. And did he get the Tom Brady jersey? He did get the Tom Brady jersey. Yeah. Even though you're a Cowboys fan. Bones, I had to just kind of, you know, hand it off and say, this isn't about me. It's about him. And now he won't take it off. He He wants to wear it every single day.
Starting point is 01:55:35 So I know how special it is to him, and I'm glad we decided to give it to him. So the Cowboys fired their coach yesterday. Uh-huh. Yeah. I just feel about that. I mean, I trust my team. I trust the owners and what they do. And I mean, I think whatever, you know, like we needed a big change.
Starting point is 01:55:53 I think the Cowboys needed a big change. I think it's going to happen. Into the Crystal Ball. Who will win the Super Bowl? Who's playing? Look into the Crystal Ball, Amy, 2020. Do we know who's playing yet? We know who the, yeah.
Starting point is 01:56:06 Now, there are eight teams left. Titans. Is that your answer? Yes. They're playing Baltimore this weekend. I know. On Saturday. I have inside sources that say they're strong, so I'm going Titans.
Starting point is 01:56:21 Let's win this. I mean, the Patriots are out, so, I mean, it could happen. Lunchbox? Ravens. They're the best team in football. Eddie? I'm going to go with the Ravens. I'm going to go with Kansas City.
Starting point is 01:56:32 Oh, I love that. Yeah, I'm going to go with Kansas City. Kansas City. I think Kansas City went Super Bowl. Okay. Looking into the crystal ball. What will Lunchbox name his second kid? Who's a famous teen mom? Who's it? Janelle?
Starting point is 01:56:52 Janelle, Chelsea, Macy. One of those. Oh, what was the one that came in here? Well, there was Kalin and Amber Portwood. Amber. Oh, she was in jail and, like, Lunchbox wanted to go through there. Did you say you're having a boy or girl? I don't know if I'm having a boy or girl.
Starting point is 01:57:05 That's why I don't know. So it needs to be unisex. Okay. No, I'm going to still going to go with girl. I'm predicting a girl, and it's going to be one of the teen mom girls. He loves that show. I'm going to go with that. Let's see.
Starting point is 01:57:19 Will Bobby get his own TV show this year? Amy? Yes. His own. It's a big one. I'm going to withdraw from the answer to this one. Yeah. I want to step back and not answer this one.
Starting point is 01:57:32 Who knows? I think that's good. Will Amy go to therapy with Bobby? I've said yes. I know, but will I let you? I don't know. Your therapist presented it. I guess it's up to y'all.
Starting point is 01:57:42 She was like, bring Eddie or bring Amy. And Eddie goes, no. Nah, no, we're good. We're good here. All right. Well, that's a look into the crystal ball. Thank you very much. There we go.
Starting point is 01:57:54 You guys can call us if you want. 877-77 Bobby. 877 Bobby. That's our phone number. The only we can do coming up in a second is the 60-second showdown. I got three categories. They can win $100 if they get 10 out of 10. 90s country, Disney movies, or world geography.
Starting point is 01:58:11 I can tell you which one won't be picked. World geography. That would be tough. But sometimes we make the hardest category the easiest answer. So we'll play that game if you want to play, call us. We'll do that next. Starting point is 02:02:02 I took notes during my whole vacation of things I wanted to talk about. And I went to dinner at a restaurant here in town. It was me and a friend and his wife. And it's a normal place. Definitely not a fancy place. And we're in there and we're sitting in the middle of the restaurant. And they take these two tables and they push them together. And because there was a big group coming to sit next to us, is Rich Witherspoon.
Starting point is 02:02:31 Really? She sat right next to us in the restaurant and had dinner. Wow. So cool. You get a picture? No. She's having dinner with her family. I don't bother people.
Starting point is 02:02:37 Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're with your family, your kids, you're eating. Those are the, if you see someone famous, you can always go up and say hi, unless they're either with their family or they're eating. Those are the two times you do not bother anyone under any circumstance. And she was doing both. But they came and sat down. She had dinner.
Starting point is 02:02:52 Nobody bothered her. Not one person. That's cool. It was great. So it was pretty weird, though. I'm sitting there and I see me. I've never, I don't know. I guess I saw it at CMAs.
Starting point is 02:03:02 Yeah, she was there. When you freaked out over her. Yeah, but she was not with her family. and she was not eating and I hugged her. That's true. And you could have. But I made it quick, like super quick. See, I made a bunch of notes here. I did a bobby cast with Russell Dickerson and his wife Kaylee Dickerson. And you can check it out now. We did it. It's been up for like a week
Starting point is 02:03:19 and a half. Just search Bobbycast. But I'm telling you, the way they look at each other, you can just see it. That's cool. They would just look at each, while one is talking and the other when it's like falling in love again. They radiate love. It's just amazing. And it was legitimate, too. I mean, it was as real as could be. And so,
Starting point is 02:03:41 Russell Dickerson, who sings that song, yours, here's a clip of yours. He was talking about during the podcast how he proposed to Kaylee with a song, not this song. This is about her. That song is about her, but a different song. And he was like,
Starting point is 02:03:57 hey, I want to shoot a YouTube video. And he was lying to her. Being like, hey, I want to shoot a YouTube video, but he was going to propose on camera. So he had to create a situation. And so, this is them actually talking about that. And then I walk over and it's like,
Starting point is 02:04:10 you're the love of my life, you're the girl of my dreams. Oh, Kaylee Seymour, will you marry me? It's just like literally like four lines. And so when did it? Well, he said Kaylee, Holly, Love a lot. Love lot was a nickname, middle name. So when he said Kaylee Holly, love a lot,
Starting point is 02:04:29 Seymour, I was like, I looked up and I was like, wait a second. So there's that. Is that the right, right, well, regardless, that's a good clip. And you can hear that there on the podcast. And apparently she was like, as a video was filming, she was like, wait, wait, wait, the kitchen's all a mess. This is going to be on video? I didn't get to clean up everything.
Starting point is 02:04:48 So it's really good. Check out the Russell Dickerson Bobbycast. It's up now. Yeah, it's a pretty good one. Just to watch those two. Like, they're still in love. A little bit, I'm like, man, I wish I had that. A little bit, I'm like, burr.
Starting point is 02:05:00 Mostly I was like, I wish I asked. Well, I just don't have that. That's what I was going to ask you is what. That's funny. Mostly jealous. Mostly jealous. But a little bit when you get so jealous that you're like, I hate it. That's what happens.
Starting point is 02:05:10 Jealousy breeds resentment. And I'm like, I'm so resentful that I don't have this. Because they are in love. They're so cute on Instagram, too. I think I'm going to go over and have dinner with them. They invited me over to the house to have dinner. I never do that. And they cook.
Starting point is 02:05:25 I was like, sure, why not? So I think I'm going to do that. So that was great. Check that out. You know what else I did that was kind of dumb was. I was flipping through trying to find shows to watch during the holiday. and I started Marvelous Miss Maisel. And so I watched the first episode
Starting point is 02:05:37 and I was like, I don't really, I can't really get it, not super into it, but I can never, first episode shows, I'm never dialed in. Takes me a minute out. Watch second episode. I'm like, okay, it's pretty good, but I'm not getting some parts of it.
Starting point is 02:05:49 Like, what am I missing? And so I was talking to a friend about it. I said, well, they did this. And he goes, oh, no, no, you started season three. Oh, my gosh. You're her episode one, season three. Yes. But so did you go back to episode one?
Starting point is 02:06:01 No, because I watched other shows. shows. I watched the morning show on Apple Plus. And? It's great. So good. Yeah. All the way through? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:06:10 It's with Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Anderson, Steve Carell. It's really good. Oh, because you didn't want me to tell you the end. We were talking about it and you were like, stop talking. Because I don't, because Amy spoils everything. I don't mean to. But, okay, so you saw it all. Okay.
Starting point is 02:06:23 That was fantastic. Me too. I watched this movie on Netflix called The Two Popes. Oh. You told my husband about that, so then he put it on. And what? What? I loved it.
Starting point is 02:06:35 Oh, well, maybe I need to like focus. Oh, you have to focus. Okay. It's definitely a lot of dialogue. It's about the story of... I was in and out. The Pope Benedict and Pope Francis and their transfer. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 02:06:46 And it's like a lot accurate, but a little bit fiction because you don't know what's really happening behind the walls. But it tells the story of Pope Francis growing up. And you can always Google stuff to see what's accurate and what's not. But it's on Netflix. And Anthony Hopkins plays Pope Benedict. Oh, cool. It's like a real... Yeah, he does look just like him too.
Starting point is 02:07:02 Man. Weird. I love it. the two popes. It's definitely not an action. Shoot them up. You do have to dial in. Okay. Yeah. I thought the two popes was pretty fantastic. Yeah, my husband liked it. Did he watch the whole thing? Yeah, I was the one that was like... Oh, well, you were hating. I thought you both hated on it. No, no, no, just me. Like, he was dialed in, and I was like, doing other things. And I was like, I just can't get into it. But I guess it's because
Starting point is 02:07:23 I wasn't stopping to focus. See, another note here I have. I guess Kim Kardashian bought her kid that Michael Jackson jacket for $70,000, the red one? His, uh-huh, thriller jacket. Because I made a note, I was so shaken by it. Oh, wow. I guess they have so much money. Like, what do you get someone who has everything except? Something from history. An artifact.
Starting point is 02:07:44 So, paid $70,000 to get her daughter, the Michael Jackson Red Jacket. Wow. Made that note. Okay, that didn't hit you guys very hard. But her daughter's like, how old? She's young? Seven or eight or something. Okay.
Starting point is 02:07:57 What are we going to say? I don't know. I guess I'm just like, oh, the Kardashians. Yeah, they have so much money that I'm like, okay. But then some people might be like, oh, do you want a piece of Michael Jackson's stuff? You know? I would like to have that jacket.
Starting point is 02:08:10 You'd wear it every day, right? Okay. Why wouldn't you? Well, I thought... Let's see. Let me see what else I have here. I saw the Irishman. I give it four out of five hitmen.
Starting point is 02:08:21 I'll review that tomorrow. I watch the Kevin Hart Show, the documentary on Netflix. His adduci series is great. Really? It's not comedy. is it is no stand-up in it. It's about his life.
Starting point is 02:08:34 And at first it's him getting, it's like, here's my story, and they're shooting it, and it's Kevin Hart. And it starts with him getting kicked off the host in the Oscars Academy Awards because of some tweets
Starting point is 02:08:43 that were anti-gay back years and years and years ago. And he's like, I'm not going to apologize. I don't feel that way anymore, but did it 10 years ago. We have to stop punishing people for being stupid
Starting point is 02:08:53 long time ago when we're not stupid. Anyway, so he does this whole thing, and in the middle of shooting this docu-series, he gets caught cheating on his wife and they leave it in there. Oh. Oh, it's crazy. Like episode three, when he gets got you, not flying.
Starting point is 02:09:06 Okay, how long is this? It's six episodes, 30 minutes an episode. Wow, it's not bad. Undoable. Uh-huh. I sent a friend that yesterday. Hey, what's the Rotten Tomatoes on that series, Mike? Look that out of, because I really enjoyed it.
Starting point is 02:09:17 I didn't expect to enjoy it. I was like, it kept popping up in the Netflix like you should watch this. And I was like, fine, I'll watch it. I thought it was real good. You know a movie is so funny that he's in with The Rock. It's called Central Intelligence. Loved it. Thought it was so funny.
Starting point is 02:09:29 We watched that over Christmas. break and died laughing. Yeah. It was so funny. I forgot we watched it, but... That came on TV and I watched some of it. Yeah. I went to the movies with somebody and watched that.
Starting point is 02:09:41 I don't have the Kevin Hart series. His last special was called Irresponsible. But his docu series, I think it's called Don't Blank This Up. And there's a lot of him blinking stuff up. I get the joke. He's so rich, though. It's crazy. I'm eliminating the note here.
Starting point is 02:10:01 If you go, let's see, it's 66% positive. I thought it was good. If you go to my Instagram, there was a little controversy. What, Amy? Well, the F word, the don't blank this up, made me think of don't mess with cats. Did you watch that? No, I couldn't.
Starting point is 02:10:17 Amy told me before break, she was like, you watch this series on Netflix called Don't Blank with Cats. It's crazy. And I was like, I don't like seeing animals hurt in any way. Me neither, but. But she loves to see animals hurt. That's her thing. I do not.
Starting point is 02:10:29 There's so much more on that. Just crazy. I never even knew this story and it's real. So tell me that quickly, tell me the story on the overlaying story without spoiling anything. Right. Well, this guy is a sicko and he gets attention because he posts this video on YouTube of him doing something bad to a cat, basically. So then these people online, they're like, what? You can't do this to a cat.
Starting point is 02:10:53 So they all form this Facebook group and they become like obsessed with trying to find where this guy is in the world because he's on YouTube. They don't know where he is. So they take context clues like the outlet in the wall, the light, like everything, like what country could he be in based on what things look like. And it's like a year's long thing. And the guy ended up like it. Don't spoil.
Starting point is 02:11:13 Okay. Well, he progresses from animals to whatever. And murders happen and the Facebook group, they knew who he was. And the police didn't listen to him. But they all worked together. A murder doc you? Every white girl listening is like, ooh, I need to get on that. But then, yeah.
Starting point is 02:11:27 So, I mean, it's just like, the internet's crazy. The internet, yes. But we know that. And you like, what would you, what is, don't blank with cats on rotten tomatoes, Mike? Because Amy was telling me before the break. You have to you have to, I don't, I don't like to be messed with kids or animals. It's 63% on rotten tomatoes, 8.2 out of IMDB. Whenever I went to the Arkansas game.
Starting point is 02:11:45 Yeah. When they won the game, you know how many points that scored? 69. Just for you too, probably. Many people came up to me after the game and they were like, that was for you. We just go 69 for you. Oh, no. Let's see. Audience scores 83 on Don't Black with Cats.
Starting point is 02:11:59 Lower on the tomato, the critics. But look at that. Yeah. I mean, it's definitely gruesome, but... I know. It's just... You feel... Watching it. I like it, though. I will watch it, if you say I like it. I think you will like it. But if I don't like it, shave an eyebrow.
Starting point is 02:12:14 All right, Justin Moore, the ones that didn't make it back home, Bobby Bone Show. Eddie's your eyebrow growing back in? No, yeah. I don't even see it anymore. Can you see it? No. Yeah. No, really. It's kind of man. I got bushy eyebrows. All right. Bobby Bone Show.
Starting point is 02:12:25 Thank you guys for hanging out. Bobby Bones show. Let's go to Allie and Virginia. Allie, what's happening? Hi, how are you? Pretty good. What's happened with you this morning? Nothing much.
Starting point is 02:12:44 You know, it's a Monday. Kids are back in school, so that's good. They're back in school. Is that what you said? Yes, yes. My daughter went back to school today. Well, you're a she? She is eight going on 20 and she's in third grade.
Starting point is 02:13:01 That's funny. Would you like a chance to win a $100 of my money. Yes. Okay, we're going to play. I'm going to try. The 60 second showdown where you will have 10 questions. You have to get them all right in 60 seconds, okay?
Starting point is 02:13:15 Okay. If you don't know, pass, we'll come back to it. Your categories are 90s country, Disney movies, or world geography. I'm going to go with the Disney movies. It's a very popular category. You have to get all 10 of them. Are you ready to play Allie in Virginia? Yes.
Starting point is 02:13:37 The clock starts at the end of the first question. Here we go. How many wishes does the genie grant to Aladdin when he emerges from the magic lamp? Three. Correct. In the Lion King. What kind of animal was Pumba? Warthog.
Starting point is 02:13:54 Correct. What does Mary Poppins use to travel? Like an umbrella thing? Correct. The character, Mushu is from what Disney movie? Um Milan Correct
Starting point is 02:14:08 Who voices the character of Buzz Lightyear? Oh my gosh, what is his name? Is it Tom Hanks? Incorrect What Disney movie tells the story of a waste robot Cleaning up Earth? Wally. Correct.
Starting point is 02:14:26 What's the name of the Disney princess And Beauty and the Beast? Correct. In Aladdin, what kind of animal was Abu? A monkey. Correct. What does Cinderella's fairy godmother turn into a carriage?
Starting point is 02:14:40 A pumpkin. Correct. Ursula is the villain in what Disney movie? Little Mermaid. Correct. So close. The one she didn't get. And she spent just too much time on.
Starting point is 02:14:54 I think if she would have passed, she'd come back to it. Buzz Lightyear is voiced by. She said Tom Hanks. It's the other one. Do you know? Oh. It's not Tom Hanks. It's...
Starting point is 02:15:10 Tim Allen. Oh. You were. well, too away. Oh my gosh. Yeah, you just sat on it too long. You know what? It's a good run, good attempt.
Starting point is 02:15:20 Thank you for calling. Well, you didn't win, but I love your excitement. Allie, thank you for being on the show. Appreciate you. Have a good day, okay? Thank you. You as well. Bye, bye. Best and we'll call it high and low from vacation.
Starting point is 02:15:35 You're high and you're low. Around the room. Amy. Hi, I was getting down to Colorado and getting tons of family time, even for my kids, like with their cousins. and just we ski when we're up there and the kids got out there and I thought they were complaining about the cold
Starting point is 02:15:49 and they really didn't. I mean, one time Stevenson cried because he was too cold, but he got over it and it was just so fun. And so family time and skiing was the best. Worst would be I found really good ticket prices flying in, but if we flew into Albuquerque, New Mexico and then drove to Colorado. And in my mind, I thought it was a two and a half, three-hour drive.
Starting point is 02:16:10 It was five hours. Oh. Each way. So we landed, which is a long flight from Nashville to like Minneapolis, then in New Mexico, and then we drove five hours, and everyone was just annoyed with me. But we saved money, so I was like, just look at it that way. So that was my worst of times. What about you?
Starting point is 02:16:29 My best was, I'd go into the Arkansas basketball game. We won and just seeing everybody back home. And not even people I knew, but I feel like everybody in Arkansas is like a cousin. Yeah. So just seeing everybody. And I hung around after the game, met a bunch of people, took a bunch of pictures. And got to meet the new basketball coach and the new football coach. And for me, you know, the Arkansas Razorbacks were and still are like my life.
Starting point is 02:16:51 Like I just love it so much. So that was probably my best. Also, I had a good big, I had a good break. I went to the beach and that was good. The beach, I'm just still not a beach guy. So weird. It's not a beach guy. But I had a good time.
Starting point is 02:17:08 It was good. And I went up. I told the story. earlier, I only went because Amy was like, this is where you should go, and this is the hotel you should stay. And I was like, all right, cool. By the way, I had never been there or to that hotel. So why did you tell him? I googled it.
Starting point is 02:17:20 Oh, you did? I thought you had been. Yeah, I said I had been to the one place nearby, but I never stayed at that hotel. Yeah, but Amy was like, well, this is near Haiti. You should go over here. It's beautiful. I thought you had been. I'd been close to there, but definitely not the hotel.
Starting point is 02:17:35 That's why I was real worried the whole time. I was like, so what is like? Like, I was like, my fingers were crossed that you weren't going to like. Like end up at some shady hotel. So I did that. That was best. Probably Arkansas was best. My dog got so sick during the break.
Starting point is 02:17:50 I had to take him to the emergency room. Really? He was coughing so hard that he was throwing up. He was like, oh, and you know how it's like dry heave? And so I think he even throw up everywhere. Gosh. And so, I mean, my dog's been sick and had a bunch of surgeries. And it's just been a constant thing.
Starting point is 02:18:04 So I take him to the ER and I spent five hours there. He ended up with some kind of lung infection. And so I was Serious And so I was on meds with him for All, luckily I was home I didn't go on to the beach Until after he got better
Starting point is 02:18:20 But it was with him the whole time And I kind of documented the whole thing When I was on my Instagram And then I put the bill up too And it was crazy It was crazy. Oh, I didn't see that Yeah What was it?
Starting point is 02:18:31 It was like five hours Like $560 or something right? Yeah And we just sat in there And it was by the way It was Christmas Eve I think So I think that Or maybe it's the day
Starting point is 02:18:44 I don't know but like there's not a lot of staff up there So we sat for five hours As he tried to get better That's probably the worst part of it But he's healthy now We're struggling though I spent half an hour with him Every day training him
Starting point is 02:18:57 Trying to train him Just trying to get him He is just He's not getting it? He gets it Then he doesn't want to get it anymore He's a bulldog He just doesn't care
Starting point is 02:19:07 So nothing's sticking I mean Amy I thought he was deaf for a while. Because I... Because I mean, there's like everything wrong. I would say, hey, Stanley, come
Starting point is 02:19:17 here. I'd be like, hey Stanley, come here. Hey, Stanley, come here. He wouldn't even look at me. He wouldn't even raise an ear to hear I'm talking. But then I would go, straight.
Starting point is 02:19:27 Oh, you right to me. Yeah, he's not deaf. He's not deaf. He just DGAF. DGAF. Mm-hmm. But every day, we trained. Every day, every day, every day, every day, every day.
Starting point is 02:19:40 So we're working. It's tough. That's my best and my worst. Lunchmikes? Best was we went to Austin, saw my family, and spent so much family time. We took family pictures with all the nieces and nephews and just, I mean, the cousins played together, which was really awesome because my son never gets to see his cousins. So it was just pandemonium with all the screaming and crying kids, but it was so much fun. And the hardest thing? Worst time?
Starting point is 02:20:06 Worst time was Christmas. My kid just didn't care about Christmas. I mean, he's one and a half and I bought presents, wrapped them, and I was all excited expecting him to want to rip into presents. And he just did not care about presents. It was like, dude, getting the Christmas spirit, but he didn't get into it. Best and Worst, Eddie? Oh, mine's easy.
Starting point is 02:20:25 I got to stand on the Dallas Cowboys football field. Guys, the actual field they play on. I snuck in. Not proud of it, but I snuck in. How'd you sneak in to the football stadium? Well, we were driving by the stadium, and my kids were like, look, that's it. Dad. is like, all right, let's go by and we'll take a picture outside.
Starting point is 02:20:40 But I saw a door where people were coming in and out. So I kind of let's see what's in there, boys. So we walk in, no one said anything. We just kind of blended in with a crowd. And we keep following the crowd. Next thing you know, Bones, we're in the stands, going down to the field. And then I'm on the grass. I saw your Instagram.
Starting point is 02:20:56 And our boys, yes, and we're like, oh, my gosh, this is crazy. And for sure, my 11-year-old was like, Dad, we're getting arrested. We're getting arrested. We didn't get arrested. No one said anything. It was fine. We were there for five minutes, but Bones, it was like heaven to me. It was beautiful.
Starting point is 02:21:08 And the hardest thing, struggle? The struggle was the drive. I mean, when you're traveling with four kids in a car for eight-hour drive, turns into a 12-hour drive, and everyone's fighting, and has to pee at different times and stop, what, 30 times, it was tough. Eddie and his son came over to the house. His youngest son came over to the house for a while over break. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:21:29 And Bones played the guitar for him. Oh, well, we have this one song we do as Raging Idiots. And Eddie's like, he can't play it. He's five. It's not even bad song. It's a grandma's song. Yeah, and he's like, he can't play. played that. So I was trying to give it a five-year-old
Starting point is 02:21:40 a concert. It's the house. Let's put the guitar away. I did get a new guitar too. I bought it myself, but I got that over Christmas. Morgan number two, best and worst? High over break was that I made all my family play a bunch of board games and we went cause some bowling, so that was really fun. And then the low was that I got sick.
Starting point is 02:21:56 You did? That's probably why I spent a lot of time doing nothing. What kind of sick? You get the poopies? No. It was a sinus infection, so I was on a bunch of antibiotics and stuff. All right. All right. No poohies. And Ramundo got engaged, right, Ramundo?
Starting point is 02:22:14 Yeah, that's got to be the high. Any low for you real quick? I was in Michigan. I was taking care of my nephew. He's 11. Almost got kicked out of the hotel. He doesn't mind anybody. And so he's throwing balls kicking. At 11? Yeah. In no manner. So I ended up having to talk to the manager. I said, hey, so sorry. I can't control the kid.
Starting point is 02:22:32 Almost got bounced out of a Flint hotel. At 11. Yeah, he does whatever he wants. There's no telling him no. Well, you should talk to him. to him about that. Hey, Uncle Ray. Yeah. He's almost taller than me.
Starting point is 02:22:41 I mean, he's a dominant force. There's no stopping him. Okay. All right, there you go. Those are our updates there. If you miss any of the show, check it out on IHard Radio. Search it later. Search Bobby Bone Show on demand.
Starting point is 02:22:51 Thank you, yes. The Bobby Bone Show. Appreciate you guys for hanging out. This is a funny story. So in Missouri, a woman is laying on all the mattresses to see which bed she likes. Because you're buying a bed. You go and you lay at the store. And so she's testing the mattresses and she falls asleep.
Starting point is 02:23:08 Well, they didn't see her fall asleep, and they turn the lights off the store, and they go home and lock the door. And so she spent the night in the store. That's like a movie. Yeah, they were called to the store after an employee found the one wandering through it after it was closed, because she fell asleep when they shut it down and they went away. So, yeah, she was just testing it out. She must have been real tired. I never, back in the day when I would go to the mattress store and test out mattresses, only a few times. but I never could get a legit feel at the store and what I liked
Starting point is 02:23:39 because it all felt comfortable at the store they were like try the firm I lay on the farm and be like oh it's pretty good they try the soft oh this is pretty good I never is never I'm a very I'm a 30 my sleep number is a 30 right now so I definitely know what I am right but I never could go to the store and test it because they all felt good because they were new yeah I'm not a soft I'm a firm all the way but again it isn't firm or soft
Starting point is 02:24:02 that's not my point my point is is that I can go and lay on all of them and they all felt good to me. I could never use the mattress store in the buying day as a good method of picking out a mattress because they were new so they all just felt good. I mean, I bought a mattress one time back
Starting point is 02:24:19 in the day and I went home and it was miserable. And so... Can you return a mattress? Yeah, you can't, but I did. I was so lazy. I just slept on it for like five years. Just dealt with it. Yeah, I just dealt with it. I made my bed literally and I had to lie in it.
Starting point is 02:24:34 That's what's up today. Amy, what's going on with you? I am getting the kids ready. They start their new school this week. Not today. Today is the first day of school for their new school, but they weren't allowed to go today. Why? I guess they wanted to get situated there with all their current students and figure out exactly where our kids are going to go after they get everything settled with everybody else. So we're kind of waiting. I got to maybe go by the school and meet with them today, tomorrow, figure it out, and then hopefully they can start Wednesday. We'll see. Not even tomorrow. I don't think that not tomorrow.
Starting point is 02:25:07 We'll see how it goes today. I don't know. We'll see. What about you? Mike D's coming over tonight and we're going to talk about the Golden Globes on the Bobbycast. And we'll do a podcast tonight. There's also one with Russell Dickerson and Kaylee Dickerson up. And so I go to the gym.
Starting point is 02:25:21 And then it's just a lot of catch-up stuff for today. Because we're back at work today. Today's our first day. You can go back and hear all the updates on today's show. Ramundo got engaged. Big deal. Big news headline. After six years, finally proposed to,
Starting point is 02:25:34 his girl. Hey, did you want to do a ring plug for the people that gave you a ring? Yeah, Genesis, thanks so much for the hookup. Boaz. I mean, he straight up gave me a deal. We were on the drawing board, man. Me and him trying to hammer it out and we finally got to a number we both agreed on. You went into a negotiation. I think right now you're a little full of it. No, we did. Because I'm telling you, this was a really, really, it was a very rare diamond. Oh. Honestly. So I was very, very pleased. Don't say honestly. I know about all this has been happening. And I think you're a little full of it right now. I don't know, but my girlfriend loved it.
Starting point is 02:26:07 I mean, now, fiancé. Yeah. It's sparkle. Tough name thing. You got to start calling your fiancé. And I only get to do it for eight months. It's just a quick name transformation, then back to, or then move on to wife. I'm looking at the ring here.
Starting point is 02:26:19 It is pretty. Thank you. Does it look rare? It does. Bowes really went with the rarest, right? He goes, Raymond, take it outside. I want you to see it sparkle in the sunlight. So, big shout to Genesis Diamonds in Nashville.
Starting point is 02:26:34 Which is where you went and got this ring. So, all right. Well, congratulations, bud. Thank you. Wow, look at that. All right, we'll see you tomorrow. Have a good day, everybody. Thanks for listening.
