Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey, I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance.
Starting point is 00:00:30 And then there's your body having its own program. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On a recent episode of the podcast Money and Wealth with John Ho'Brien, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money. What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth to the people when they're no longer here? We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build real wealth, starting with the mindset shifts. Too many of us were never, ever taught. If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money, this conversation is for you to hear more. Listen to Money and Wealth with John Hope Bryant from the Black Effect Network on the I'd Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:24 Will Ferrell's Big Money Players and IHeart Podcasts presents Soccer moms. So I'm Leanne. Yeah. This is my best friend, Janet. Hey. And we have been joined at the hips since high school. Absolutely. A redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Just a little bit bigger hips. This is a podcast. We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey. With all the snacks and drinks. Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer? Oh, they hit a bogo. Well, then you got them. Listen to soccer moms on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Ernest, what's up? Look, money is something. we all deal with, but financial literacy is what helps turn income into real wealth. On each episode of the podcast, Earn Your Leisure, we break down the conversations you need to understand money, investing, and entrepreneurship. From stocks and real estate to credit, business, and generational wealth, our goal is simple. Make financial literacy accessible for everyone. Because when you understand the system, you can start to build within it. Open your free iHeart radio app, search Earn Your Leisure, and listen now.
Starting point is 00:02:25 The Best Bits of the Week with Morgan. Part one. Behind the scenes with a member of the show. Welcome to the weekend, everybody. It's Best Bits Time and Amy is joining me. Hey, Amy. Hey, Morgan. It's a little weird weekend here.
Starting point is 00:02:43 We're doing it on Zoom. Amy and I have never done Best Bits on Zoom. We've always managed to do it in person. But I am out with Vertigo. So if I sound a little weird this weekend, just roll with it. We're doing the best we can. here. Like, it's not me.
Starting point is 00:02:58 It's the vertigo. Yes. If I say anything weird, I'm not held accountable. It is all vertigo. But Amy, you talked about something on the show this week. Well, I didn't know we were talking about it. I need the details. So Amy has a boyfriend.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Yes. Well, I mean, that's pretty much all we said. So I'll leave it at that for now and then give details. I just kind of thought, how I was. I feel like it's a little bit of a curveball. But I don't know what details to give later because I didn't even, I feel like saying something on my podcast and saying that I'm dating somebody is very different than like the big show.
Starting point is 00:03:39 And when it comes to details, I mean, me saying that I have a boyfriend, that's totally fine. But I mean, I didn't even get a chance to really to talk to him like, hey, this is happening, you know? Yeah. So the details are still out. like of just I think we'll share more but you know he has three kids and you know. Very exciting. Thanks. Yeah. It's exciting. Yeah. So yeah, I don't know what else to say other than
Starting point is 00:04:10 was that awkward for you to hear. No, no, but I was like, oh, wait, she did it. But also like, I was kind of like, this is a bigger announcement. Why is it along with these voicemails? But I get that it came in as a voicemail because you mentioned it on your podcast, but I was just like, this is it, this is huge. Why are we not talking about this more? Why do we, why is there not like a segment, a full segment on this? Yeah. Um, sure. But also I think in that I would be prepared to share a little bit more. Yeah, since it just kind of came in as that voicemail. I, that's just, that's what it is. Like, that's what we'll share. Because that's all I've said to the extent of like, even on here of like, yes, I'm dating somebody.
Starting point is 00:04:53 and then on the podcast, you know, I co-host it with cat, therapy cat. And she, you know, we're often like she knows him and we're talking about him or even you and I haven't talked about him a lot and just privately. And, you know, she's like, yeah, it's your boyfriend. And so I've said it like, yeah, I have a boyfriend, which is still weird to say and trying to be just also careful in how we share things because there's other people involved. Yeah. Yeah, there is. Okay, so I think there's two questions I can ask you that aren't really about him that will allow you to share some things. Does this work? How are the kids feeling with you
Starting point is 00:05:42 dating somebody new? Great. Okay. They're loving it. They're doing well. They like it. I think Stasheera said something at dinner the other night because we were eating dinner with him. And she said, oh, yeah, I just thought mom was going to end up alone forever. You're like, thank you. I think. Cool, cool, cool, cool. So they like him. I think his kids like me. I'm sure they love you. You're amazing. Well, our kids, we, I have met his kids. He has met mine, but our kids have not all met. met. We haven't done that part yet. Okay. And with Valentine's Day coming up, do you have Valentine's Day plans? Yes, we are doing something. I don't know exactly what yet because he maybe is taking his kids to a Virginia
Starting point is 00:06:35 basketball game that weekend. Fun. And Valentine's is on a Friday this year. It's still up in the air. Their schedules, the kids, they have lots of sports and whatnot. So they don't know. exactly what's going to be happening. But if they can go, they all really want to go. They're big Virginia fans, UVA. And yeah, what else? What was I going to say? Oh, so that said, we may do something on Thursday night, like just dinner. But if not, they don't travel, we're going to do something on Friday night. How does it feel to have Valentine's Day plans? I just after everything you've been through and now this is where you're at. Like, how does it feel to have like new kind of Valentine's Day plans.
Starting point is 00:07:19 It's fun, but I was like, okay, yeah, what do we do? It's not like I'm totally out of. No, no, but you know what I mean, like new and the dating and a long time. But yeah, like to have plans and to shop for somebody and have to think through some things. Yeah, it's, it's interesting and I'll get a little nervous and it's also fun. Okay. And give me, are we doing okay? not talking about anything that you don't want to talk about.
Starting point is 00:07:47 I'm totally okay. Doing great. Okay. Give me three words to express how you're feeling in this new relationship. Okay. Three words. Comfortable, content, and cute. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:09 I like alliteration, so that made it easy to just. Comfortable, honestly, was the first word that came to my mind. and then I was like, okay, I'm just going to stick with all seeds. The cute part is just I think that, yeah, we're cute. We're cute. I like how we are. You guys are cute together. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Okay. I won't say anymore because I do know, I do know a lot of information. And I know that there's things that you still have to share on the big show. So that's where I'm leaving that for right now. Not even just, you know, sharing on the big show. But listeners have so many listeners of the big show. have followed our lives for a very long time. And so there's that component of like, okay, I've let you in to certain things.
Starting point is 00:08:54 So yeah, I would like to let you in and you be the first to know of like this, this and this. And then also just, you know, once it became time to say this, this, this and this, I want him to be very aware. You know. Yes. That's why when the voicemail was played, I'm like, yes, okay, cool. Yeah, I have a boyfriend. but I'm not really going to say anything else at this point because it's, again, it's not just me.
Starting point is 00:09:23 And, you know, the last time I was in a relationship that I announced, it was 2006 and I was dating Air Force guy. And that's all we would say. And plus, we were young and not very considerate of other people. We were just like, we're just on the radio talking about everything. And I remember going to Ben and being like, what can I say? What can I say? And he's like, well, not much.
Starting point is 00:09:48 I'm much more private. I was like, okay, fine. We won't disclose who you are at all. We'll just call you Air Force guy. And so we did. And so I shared in detail all kinds of stuff about him and our relationship and how it unfolded. And it was very much in real time. And I don't know that real time is necessary anymore.
Starting point is 00:10:08 I think that it was fun at the time. But then as you mature, you learn. Okay, not everything is content and not everything has to be in real time and everyone has to be ready for it. And I personally like letting listeners in. And I do think that there are parts of my story that have been relatable to a lot of listeners or helpful to get a peek behind the curtain because I know that I've benefited from other people that have given me a peek behind the curtain. And that's how we can all connect. Now, do listeners know every detail and do I know every detail of other people's lives? No, I think that we have to be careful of what we let out.
Starting point is 00:10:52 But if there's parts of your story that can be comforting or therapeutic or healing or just for someone to know, like they're not alone and in the highs and the lows, like just I feel like listeners have come alongside me in so many highs and lows. They have celebrated alongside us. They have wept alongside us. And I think that this is one of those things where, you know, I wouldn't share something unless I was absolutely ready. And I thought that it was going to be like an actual real relationship. And this feels like that.
Starting point is 00:11:32 It's still sort of newish, but it feels good. And it feels right. And he's okay with letting people in to something. some of our story once it's time to share that. And I do think it's one that will be, you know, I don't know. I'm not like, I don't want to put too much on it. But I'm just saying, I think that there likely will be one person that will benefit from hearing it and feel comfort and peace of like, oh, I can do this. And this is a cool story. And this story gives me hope. Well, I think it'll also do that regardless, just for the fact that like this is after you went through a divorce and you shared that news and then you started dating again. And you're a mom that's with kids and you're dating. Like all of that is relatable. So I definitely think there'll be more than one. But yes, I love that you shared that kind of behind the scenes and your thought process behind it because it is. We have to be very delicate with how we share things. And it's so funny, there's a lot of people like when I talk about my dating life, everybody's like you, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:39 know these people care. I'm like, first of all, you don't know the timeline of when these things happen. These things could have happened six months or a year ago, and I'm just now sharing them. You don't know where they are in the timeline of events in my life. So the person, the only person who will know that this has happened will be the one person this is about, and that's it. Nobody else is going to be able to put the pieces together. And we do that on purpose just to protect people. But it's funny. Do you remember Sally when Sally came on after my birthday and she had a story to share? Yes. So a person who that was about, apparently their friend had sent them that segment and said, hey, don't be this person. And they sent it to me and was like, I just had my own
Starting point is 00:13:23 karma. And I was like, you know, you kind of deserve it. And this person and Sally's story was like, you're right. And I'm sorry. I'm like, good. I'm glad we could come full circle in this moment. Oh, that's good. Isn't that funny though? I didn't know that. But yeah, it is interesting how we can put certain things together. You know, even stuff we share about our friends, which my friend did not care about this at all, she thought it was hilarious and she gave us permission to say it. But do you remember when I went over my friend's list of things
Starting point is 00:13:50 that she was looking for in a partner? And it was, you know, simple things to very ridiculous things. Like, I want them to be strong, you know, OCD, but not more OCD than me. Like, no naps. Like, I can't remember some of the other things she said. Oh, athletic. because I want to have a politic offspring. I do very much remember this list.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Yeah. So she was on a date with a guy and somehow if they had a list came up and he started talking about how he has this list. And she goes, oh, I keep a list on my phone. And she pulled it out and she started reading it. And he was like, wait a second. I swear I heard this list on the Bobby Bone show. And she goes, that was me. He was on a date and he recognized it. And he's like, oh my gosh, that's so funny. I remember them talking about all the things and the guys are making fun of like how impossible it was going to be to find. But funny enough, the date, the guy she was on a date with is a former pro athlete.
Starting point is 00:14:51 And he checked a lot of the boxes. So it's kind of funny. See, it works out somehow or another. Like, and that's what I love to tell people. I'm like, regardless of how things get shared on the radio, like the right person is going to fall into all of our lives and it's going to be the right person for a reason. And so all of that to say that what we share on the show is, it's there's part realness to it and part also like protectiveness layer that we're,
Starting point is 00:15:16 we're doing our jobs and our due diligence to protect people. Right. So thank you for sharing some of the stuff. Hopefully we're good. You feel good about it? No, totally good. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:28 Just making sure. So we're going to take one quick break and we'll be right back. You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance. And then there's your body having its own program. I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods of turbulence and transformation.
Starting point is 00:16:02 There is one finding that is consistent, and that is that, that our resilience rests on our relationships. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On a recent episode of the podcast Money and Wealth with John Hobriant, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes. to take control of your money.
Starting point is 00:16:41 What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth to the people when they're no longer here? We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build real wealth, starting with the mindset shifts. Too many of us were never, ever taught. Financial education is not always about, like,
Starting point is 00:17:00 I'm gonna get rich. That's great. It's about creating an atmosphere for you to be able to take care of yourself and leave a strong financial legacy for your family. If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money, this conversation is for you to hear more. Listen to Money and Wealth with John O'Brien from the Black Effect Network on the I'd Heart Radio app,
Starting point is 00:17:24 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, Ernest, what's up? Look, money is something we all deal with, but financial literacy is what helps turn income into real wealth. On each episode of the podcast, earn your leisure, we break down the conversations you need to understand money, investing, and entrepreneurship. From stocks and real estate to credit, business, and generational wealth, we translate complex financial topics into real conversations everyone can understand. Because the truth is, most people will never taught how money really works. But once you understand the system, you can start to build within it.
Starting point is 00:18:00 That means ownership, smarter investing, and creating opportunities not just for yourself, but for the next generation. If you want to learn how to build wealth, understand the markets, and think like an owner, earn your leisure is the podcast for you. Listen to earn your leisure on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:18:19 I'm Anna Navarro, and on my new podcast, Bleep with Anna Navarro. I'm talking to the people closest to the biggest issues happening in your community and around the world. Because I know deep down inside right now, we are all cursing and asking what the bleep is going. going on. I'm talking to people like Julie K. Brown, who broke the explosive story on Jeffrey
Starting point is 00:18:43 Epstein in 2018. These victims have been let down time and time again for decades and decades by local law enforcement, by federal law enforcement, by administration after administration. The Justice Department through, I think we counted four presidential administrations, failed these victims. Listen to Bleep with Anna Navarro as part of the My Cultura podcast network, available on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So on the complete other side of all of this, I have vertigo again. Amy's looking at me on Zoom and I'm wearing glasses and I haven't showered in like four days.
Starting point is 00:19:34 Life is weird over here. I am not okay, Amy. I think I'm losing my mind. Well, I know when we sat down to record. and you have your little red block. Like it's like you, there are glasses with a red tent. I assume that those are your special vertigo glasses.
Starting point is 00:19:50 Actually, I remember you coming in the studio with them last time. But I don't know if they have an official name. Yeah, they're called Theraspex. Okay, you have on your Thera Spex. And I said, Morgan, we don't have, you know, like we can do this like in a more condensed manner because I know that you're not feeling well.
Starting point is 00:20:09 So you're a trooper for showing up. for best bits. You know, we had to do it. We had to do it for the listeners. I have a actually out for delivery right now as a neck brace that's on its way to my house. So the crazy thing with Vertigo is once I had my PT friend, Holly, come over here and do the maneuvers on me that are supposed to help get all my crystals back in alignment. I know this all sounds crazy if you've never had vertigo or known anybody who has. But once she did the maneuvers, you have to keep your head so still and so upright. So I've had to sleep upright. I've had to, I can't bend over. I can't move my head left to right. So I'm getting the neck brace in hopes that it will force me to not even move a little bit
Starting point is 00:20:53 of an inch to keep those crystals in alignment. And hopefully I get better quicker than last time, which took several weeks. So I'm going to be looking funny with these glasses and a neck brace. Yeah, whatever maneuver she was doing on you, you were like hanging off your bed. You posted it on Instagram. I was like, oh, that looks so. I know you're in pain. So I'm not. You know, I get it. We're like, what? This is, I really have to have it. But I was like, oh, I don't even have vertigo right now.
Starting point is 00:21:16 And I would give anything to have that girl come over and do whatever that is. She just did to Morgan because it looked so relaxing. You definitely want it without the vertigo because when she does those maneuvers, it induces the vertigo. So you're getting sick as she's doing it because it's literally. So the best way I can describe this when you have vertigo is like there's a rocky wall in the back of your head acting as your body's level. your equilibrium. And when the crystals get loose out of that, they end up in your ear canals.
Starting point is 00:21:45 And so the only way to fix that and get them out of your ear canals is basically to roll your body and move your body around in these very bizarre ways to get them back into the rocky wall and give you your equilibrium back. And so she's like moving me on my bed like that
Starting point is 00:22:01 because she's literally moving the crystals around in my head to hopefully get them back in place. So when she's doing that, she's inducing the vertigo. so I'm like ill. I end up like vomiting and you have a vertigo hangover after those maneuvers happen. Okay. Yeah, that's what I'm careful to say.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Like, I know that they weren't incredible for you and I know you feel like crap, but it looked like it was going to be awesome if you're a normal person. Yes. So that's why I say you're normal, but you know what I mean. Yeah, that's why I say you'll want it. Just you don't want it with the vertigo because it isn't, it's a cool experience to like move your body in that way. But yeah, not in the in the way that you're going to bond.
Starting point is 00:22:39 that afterwards. So that's what we're dealing with right now. It's a weird time. But I do have some fun also things to talk about. So we had the Grammys that just happened. But did you see that Ye, aka Kanye West, got kicked out? No, but Therapy Cat just sent me a text right before we started recording. And all she said was Kanye West right now. And then she did that whoa emoji face, kind of like, what is happening? And I don't know anything about this. So you'll have to let me know. Okay. So he showed up with his girlfriend. She was, well, completely naked. I saw her outfit. I don't even know how that's allowed. It wasn't. And also, he wasn't invited. So he showed up to the grandmas red carpet like this. And he wasn't even invited. Okay. insane. So she wasn't
Starting point is 00:23:32 completely naked. She had like a shear over her, but you could see everything essentially. She had a fur jacket. that covered when they're on the red carpet, she took it off. Well, it made me like kind of have this like thought process. When's the last time that you've been kicked out of somewhere, if ever? I don't think I've ever been kicked out of anywhere. Have you ever gotten trouble that it was like could have been a kicked out type situation? Because I bet they handled this with care knowing that it's Kanye West or Yee and they had to be like, sir, you guys need to leave. And they were gently pushing him out versus like the kick out that we probably think in our heads, but yeah, no, I don't think I have. Have you ever been kicked out of
Starting point is 00:24:11 somewhere? Okay, so this happened recently when I was in Paris. So have you heard of the Arc de Triumph, the like really cool statue in Paris? No, because, well, I mean, I'm sure I've seen it. Oh, yes. Like, they have one in New York that looks like it. Yeah, it kind of like basically it's in these different cities. I think it's known for like when they win a battle and it becomes like this thing in war and they build the statue to remember. So Paris has this Arc de Triumph, which is known for a lot of tourists. You go and you visit it. But it's in this roundabout, like this traffic circle. And it was like two o'clock in the morning. And I had lots of alcohol at this point. But I wanted to see the Arc Day Triumph like up close. And I saw like a gate around it. I wasn't going to go in the
Starting point is 00:24:58 gate. But I wanted to run up to the gate and like take a picture of it. And I ran up and there was these two police officers that kind of came like vastly moving over and started speaking a lot of French to me. And I just was like, I don't speak French. I don't know what you're saying, even though I did know that they were definitely kicking me off of that name. I played the dumb American card. Like no, blah. Literally. I was like, I don't, I don't know what you're saying, but I did like. Why do you say it with that accent in English? I don't know what you're saying. Because I'm pretty sure I was drunk and I was saying it a lot like that. Right. I was just like, I don't know what's happening.
Starting point is 00:25:37 But I did know and I did know I probably wasn't supposed to be there. I genuinely wasn't trying to like break into it or anything. I just wanted a picture up close because of the all the cars that moved by. And it was like 2 a.m. There was hardly any cars. But that was my kind of kickout moment where I could have ended up in a Paris jail if I would have escalated that situation. Yeah, rebel. I had no idea.
Starting point is 00:26:01 You lived life on the edge like that. I really, I can't. I'm racking my brain trying to think. of something. Like, I know in high school, we had parties in fields and we'd get, it'd get busted and we'd all have to run. Um, so what you're telling me is you've matured and I have not. Well, no, I mean, I don't know. Maybe it just hasn't happened yet. I don't know. I haven't been to Paris yet. Maybe I'll get kicked out. I did have a, I was having a wild hair. It was like, you know, I was in Paris and I did not care and I was just having fun. And listen, I would,
Starting point is 00:26:32 there was also might have been a Greek man involved and I was just having fun living my life. A Greek man. Have you spoken to him since? Yes. Yeah, we have spoken since. We have a really like, really cute romantic photo by the Arctic Triumph. I'm like, that's a cool memory. Thank you for that. Okay. So when you say you're still talking to him, what does that mean? Like, y'all are texting, WhatsApping, DMing. DMing on Instagram. But it's not like, anything. It's more just like staying in touch and maybe one day we'll see each other again, but it's not like a we're going to see each other again. We're going to get married type thing. Okay. Just more fun messaging. Nice to meet you. Cool. One day we'll see each other again maybe.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Right. So that was mine. Nothing come to mind though. Okay. I hope you could have a moment like this in your life though, just for the heck of it. But you don't get arrested, you know? Yeah. No. Okay. I'll look for moments. Maybe don't. maybe don't. Okay. Also, since Lainey Wilson has blown up, she's gotten a whole lot of major brand deals. Like, I just saw one recently with Whataburger. She has one with the bell bottom jeans. She has one with hats. If you were to get like mega startum tomorrow, what three brand deals would you agree to almost immediately? No questions asked. Oh, siate. I would be the face of sioux chips. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:02 I love them so much. And I love anything CETA. And it's all just a little bit on the pricier side because of the quality of ingredients. Although I do feel like ever since Pepsi bought them and the integrity of the ingredients has stayed the same. Because sometimes when companies get bought out by the bigger ones, certain things in the ingredients alter. I know CETA was like, oh, no, no, no, that's not going to happen. but I think I do notice Siette stuff on sale more. I'm just sharing that in case you've never tried it.
Starting point is 00:28:37 Target has it on sale a lot. So I would be the face of Siette for sure. Maybe like, I don't know. Do you have yours and I can think about mine? Yeah, and we can bounce off too. Like, because I was just seeing this and I was like, I wonder what that would feel like. Like all of a sudden, all your favorite brands start coming to you.
Starting point is 00:28:58 I do think Taco Bell would be one for me. Oh yeah, that would be a good one. I am at Taco Bell way too often and that's definitely not good for my immune system for the fact that all of it's gluten. But, you know, here we are. So Taco Bell would definitely be one for me. Okay. So I mentioned CETA being on a lot. So shoot, why not Target?
Starting point is 00:29:21 I'll be the face of Target. See, you love Target. Wouldn't that be insane? And you're like, oh, I'm now the brand woman for Target. Yeah. I feel like then you have gift cards to Target probably for days. And then you have lots of what you need. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:29:39 And pretty much anything at Target. See, okay, on that same side, I think I would go Trader Joe's. Because I am definitely part of the cult that is Trader Joe's. I love Trader Joe's. Okay. So if you're a parent and you do have a Trader Joe's near you and you're trying to sneak vegetables into your kids' bodies. My kids have been drinking smoothies a lot lately, and I need to get things in them
Starting point is 00:30:03 like broccoli, cauliflower, those types of veggies. Yep. And it's really difficult any other way, but Trader Joe's has bagged, frozen, organic cauliflower rice. Oh, I know what you're talking about. Yeah, and it's great because it's cheap. It's already chopped up time. tiny, it's frozen, and it's organic. And you load up on that and start, if your kids like
Starting point is 00:30:32 smoothies, start, it makes your smoothies really creamy. They have no idea that it's in there. And that's my little trick for getting more veggies into my kids' bodies. No, that's so good. I love that. So I use that for bowls. Yeah. It doesn't change the color of the smoothie because if I put anything green, they're instantly like, why is this green? And I'm like, Okay, so I threw some mixed greens in there because you need veggies. But the cauliflower, because it's white and gives that creaminess. I also have been chopping up zucchini. I love zucchini.
Starting point is 00:31:09 You can shave off the green, the skin if you don't want the green to show up in the smoothie. And then if you freeze that, it gives it a creamy consistency as well and just helps make smoothies more nutritious for your children. Oh, I love these pro tips. might need a new to do it for my own smoothie. Yeah, Trader Joe's just has a lot of little nuggets like that and their produce, everything is just so much more affordable. It's just that Trader Joe's aren't everywhere. Yeah, that's what sucks about Trader Joe's. And that's why I call it like kind of a colt. That's why everybody who's like, if you have a Trader Joe's, you end up loving it because it's just
Starting point is 00:31:46 so, it's so good and it has such easy stuff to make and throw into your food. Yeah, you just have to know that the parking is always going to be terrible and some stuff about. the location is just not going to make sense. But you're going to be like, I don't care. It's Trader Joe's. I'm still going to go no matter what. Oh, which a strong contender, Cete, speaking of them, I try to chip this week that they, like an elote, they came up with like a Mexican street corn version of their chip.
Starting point is 00:32:12 And Trader Joe's has one. Now the ingredients are very different. But it's like, have you had the... No, I know what you're talking about. I love them. Yes, they're so good. It's like a frito. but with all the street corn.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Yes. I don't know if you've noticed this either, but Trader Joe's, I feel a little bit more comfortable with all the ingredients because even the pasta stuff literally comes from Italy. All the different freezer stuff is stuff that they're, it's just the ingredients are easier for me to read. I'm not feeling like there's multiple ingredients and all of that stuff. I don't know about the chips, but at least the freezer items.
Starting point is 00:32:50 The chips are going to be very different than the etate ingredients. wise, but my sister did tell me, like, she doesn't have a Trader Joe's in her town in Colorado, but she had to go to Albuquerque to take my niece to the airport or her daughter. And while she's, if she's ever in Albuquerque, she goes Trader Joe's. And she did a hall. And she said that she didn't realize that they stopped. They don't carry anything that has the red dyes. So none of their stuff, they haven't done the complete overhaul.
Starting point is 00:33:17 I don't think with like seed oils, but they have stopped or, maybe they always have. I'm not sure, but she didn't realize that. And she was like, oh, good. It's just nice to go somewhere. And you don't have to think. Oh, what does this have in it? But then also I do that and then I go to the gas station and I get M&Ms. And I'm like, okay, this has a red dye. You know, it's a hard balance. Yeah, we're just doing our best. We are. Okay. So you have Target and and Ciette. I have Trader Joe's and Taco Bell. We each have one left. What is the brand deal we're going with. Gosh, maybe Fenty.
Starting point is 00:33:54 Can I do makeup? Yeah, of course. Yeah, I like her lip glasses and contour sticks. And my daughter likes her stuff too. So maybe we could do like a mother daughter campaign and that would be fun. Oh, that's so cute. I love that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:10 I probably would have to go Lulu Lemon because I'm pretty sure most of my closet is Lulu Lemon. Smart. Honestly, I just feel like that would just make the most sense. I wish that the dupes and stuff worked on me, but I am, I love, I love the Lulim and stuff. Like the leggings, it is just a game changer because I think it's because I work out, like the workouts I do with CrossFit and hot yoga and stuff, you sweat so much that those leggings are just a game changer. Yeah, Align is my favorite. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:41 A line is the best one. A line is new to me. I think I only started buying a line last year. I used to be a very wonder under girl. Yep. And now I'm aligned all the way. Yeah. See.
Starting point is 00:34:53 And those align are just, they're comfy. They're perfect. So I think I go Lulu. Look at us. We would have, that would be amazing, honestly. I'm like thinking about that. And I love this for Lainey that she's getting to do this. But that would be crazy.
Starting point is 00:35:06 Yeah. No, it's got her world has changed so much in the last handful of years, even just few years, not even handful. It's been less than five. And her life is night and day. And she is very deserved. So it's cool to see. I know.
Starting point is 00:35:22 I feel that same way. Okay, we're going to take one more quick break. We'll be right back. And think of some reviews. I mean, everybody loves reviews day. So we're just going to kind of throw out a bunch of things here. Okay? Take quick break.
Starting point is 00:35:32 We'll be right back. You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance. And then there's your body having its own program. I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans. a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods
Starting point is 00:35:59 of turbulence and transformation. There is one finding that is consistent, and that is that our resilience rests on our relationships. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On a recent episode of the podcast, Money and Wealth with John Hobriant, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money. What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth to the people when they're no longer here? We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build real wealth, starting with the mindset shifts to,
Starting point is 00:36:53 many of us were never, ever taught. Financial education is not always about, like, I'm going to get rich. That's great. It's about creating an atmosphere for you to be able to take care of yourself and leave a strong financial legacy for your family. If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money, this conversation is for you to hear more. Listen to Money and Wealth with John Hobriant from the Black Effect Network on the I'd Heart Radio app. Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. American Soccer is about to explode.
Starting point is 00:37:32 The World Cup is coming. Ramers sending on to Ernie Stewart the Chip. I'm Tab Ramos. I'm Tom Boe. On our podcast, inside American soccer, you'll get the real storylines. I'm not worried about Policic. I'm not worried about Balagan. I'm not worried about McKinney.
Starting point is 00:37:53 My only concern is what happens in the back. The biggest decisions. If you're going to look at stats and numbers, he has no shot at making this World Cup team. And the truth about the U.S. national team. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great run into the semifinals. The World Cup is almost here. Experience it all with us. Listen, Inside American Soccer with Tom Bogart and Tab Ramos on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, wherever you get your podcast. I'm Anna Navarro, and on my new podcast, Bleep with Anna Navarro.
Starting point is 00:38:32 I'm talking to the people closest to the biggest issues happening in your community and around the world. Because I know deep down inside right now, we are all cursing and asking what the bleep is going on. I'm talking to people like Julie K. Brown, who broke the explosive story on Jeffrey Epstein in 2018. These victims have been let down time and time again for decades and decades by local law enforcement, by federal law enforcement, by administration after administration. The Justice Department through, I think we counted four presidential administrations, failed these victims. Listen to Bleep with Anna Navarro as part of the My Cultura podcast network,
Starting point is 00:39:17 available on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So listeners really love the segment. We do Tuesday Reviews Day and we share a bunch of things. And I have been cooped up at home. So I have lots of things to add. Have you been watching anything recently, Amy? I started recruit. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Did you already see the first season and you're on season two? No, I'm on season one. Okay, well, you will like it, but I refuse to now suggest that for Bobby after our, us getting totally ridiculed for night agent. Oh, yeah. I'm watching night agent with my son too. And Stevenson loves it. But recruit, I just kind of have on in the background.
Starting point is 00:40:02 It's easy to kind of keep up with that way. let's be honest, that's how I watch most of my stuff. I saw this funny ADHD video of this guy making fun of people with ADHD when they find a show that they really like. They walk around their house with their computer and they're doing everything. They're like in the shower and they're trying to hear and watch. They're brushing their teeth. They take it to the laundry room and that's me.
Starting point is 00:40:22 I just walk around my house with my computer and I've got the show on. So that's why sometimes I miss a lot. But I don't care. I still will advance to the next episode. I don't need to go back and figure it out. I'm like, oh, it'll sort of self out. I'm not going to rewind. But that's what I'm doing with Recruit right now.
Starting point is 00:40:38 And I'm on Season 1, Episode 3. And I like it. Okay. See, and it's playing in that same vein as Night Agent. So that's why I say I wouldn't send it to Bobby now, especially after that. But I really liked Recruit. I thought it was really good. I finished season two because I binge that when it came out.
Starting point is 00:40:56 And I loved it. I think I'd give it a, oh, three and a half out of five. I'd say both seasons. Three and a half out of five papers. The penas. Yeah. I was trying to think of something that is not going to throw you off for the next season. So I'd say those two.
Starting point is 00:41:17 I like that one on Netflix. What would you give it so far? So probably same. Three to three and a half. Like I'm not, it's good enough for me to keep watching. But I'm not obsessed with it like I was. What was that one on Apple TV with Jake Gillen Hall that we were all obsessed
Starting point is 00:41:33 with. Oh, I don't think I've watched that one, but it was, it was the, is the ambulance one, right? Or no. The court one, courtroom. Why do I want to keep saying the proposal, but it's not the, it starts with a P. I know that it starts with a P. Presumed innocent. That's it. I didn't even watch it and I figured it out. I don't know why I don't get words right. Like last night we went to dinner and we went to, in the gulch. what's the pig? I keep wanting to call it impeccable pig. Bearian, there you go. Yeah, but I kept saying we're going to impeccable pig. And I think it's like a clothing boutique or something.
Starting point is 00:42:14 It is. It is. That's why you keep saying that. So I just, you know, as long as you get it close. But if you are ever in Nashville, that place is so good. Iberian pig. I do love Iberian pig, but Barcelona still wins for me in tapas. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:32 Do you say tapas? or tapas? I'm probably wrong and it's probably tapas. No, I don't think they're, I think it's like almond or almond. I don't know that there is a right or wrong or pajamas, pajamas. It's just either or. I feel like when I was in Barcelona, which Barcelona, Spain is really where tapas come from. I'm pretty sure they were saying tapas. And the tapas is me very can't insane. Oh, no, it's the vertigo. That too. That too. I hear you get everything on the vertigo. Yes, this episode I do. So I, I, I, I love. I, I love, I love Iberian pig.
Starting point is 00:43:03 I think it's my second favorite tapas restaurant in town. Have you been to Barcelona? Oh, yeah. I love Barcelona too. Okay. But do you like Iberian pig better? I think I like the vibe. They just did a really good job with the, I don't know, look like it used to be an old
Starting point is 00:43:21 warehouse and they completely renovated. It looks really cool. I like the bar area, but last night we ate upstairs. I didn't even know they had that up there. I didn't either. do you have a whole upstairs area. I'm like, this place is packed. And I'm like, this is what people do on weeknights.
Starting point is 00:43:38 Like, I'm normally in bed. I don't understand. We're learning. We're learning to go hot on school night. Yeah, but I'll let you in on a little. I went, my boyfriend's dad wanted to take us out to dinner and his wife. So my boyfriend's stepmom. But she's been a stepmom for a really, really long time.
Starting point is 00:44:00 and his half-sister. We all went to dinner because his dad. He was like, oh, I would like to get to know Amy better. Oh, how did it go? At the reservation, they said, you know, we're going to impeccable pig. Get some new clothes first. Y'all are invited. And so we went and it was fun.
Starting point is 00:44:22 I've hung out with his family before, but it was just better to get to know them more intimately. Yeah. And that's a cool spot for that. because you get it. What I love about tapas is that everybody gets to get a bunch of different things and you try it all. Yeah. Okay. That's fun.
Starting point is 00:44:38 We added a new reviews day part of this at Nashville. Restaurant reviews. Yeah, because I don't have another TV show. What else do you have? Okay. Did you ever watch the Sweet Magnolias TV show on Netflix? Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:51 So a new season just came out, season four. And I just binged it yesterday because I can't literally move from my house. So I've been just the whole team. Okay, I might do that soon. I really like that show a lot. And I might need a break from CIA stuff. Because between Lioness, the night agent, the recruit, it'd probably be nice to have just a cute little cute romantic show.
Starting point is 00:45:21 Yes. And this season was very good. I'm assuming you're caught up to that point. So you just need the new season. Loved it. It still keeps getting better. There's definitely cheesy moments because it's just Netflix. I think I've accepted that Netflix will just have some cheese in it.
Starting point is 00:45:36 But I really loved it. I love that show. It's one of my favorites. Have you watched younger? Oh yeah. I love younger. Okay, same. I just, I rewatched all of that.
Starting point is 00:45:48 I watched it originally. But, you know, again, because my ADHD I missed a lot. So when I was rewatching it, I was like, oh, I had no idea this happened or this happened. And so that's the fun part about if you ever rewatch something. and you watch TV like I do is there's always something new to learn. You can rewatch. You'll always have an endless supply of things to watch. I did watch.
Starting point is 00:46:10 This is how my TV watching happens is like kind of like how we're mentioning the CIA shows. When I find something that I like, I'll then go on a bender of watching things similar to that. And then I'll like switch gears and I'll find something new. Like I'm also really obsessed with sitcoms right now because I watched. And I feel like you could watch this with your kids. and they may actually love it, but it's called Neighborhood. Did you ever watch New Girl?
Starting point is 00:46:35 Yes. Okay, you know Schmidt on New Girl? Mm-hmm. So he's in neighborhood, and it's so funny. It's this white family that moves into a black neighborhood, and it's all about, like, their friendship and as him living in that neighborhood, what that all looks like. I have laughed so many times watching that show.
Starting point is 00:46:54 And it has like seven seasons. Okay, that's going to be something good, but yeah, I could watch with both my kids. I think they would love it. Okay. So that's been like something that I'm obsessed with lately is sitcom. So Neighborhood on Paramount Plus. And I've also started watching Man with a Plan, which is with the actor Matt, Joey from Friends.
Starting point is 00:47:16 Matt LeBlanc. Yes, Matt LeBlanc. He is in this sitcom, which is funny. It's like about a married couple and it's very like real life of just their experiences with their kids. And I like it. I don't know if I'm just on this like sitcom funny. kind of wishing we'd have 30 minute episodes again, but that's what both of those are. So two cool sitcoms to watch.
Starting point is 00:47:38 Okay, noted. Yes. Thanks. Thank you. Yeah. I'm going to check out neighborhood. And I didn't know a new season of Sweet Magnolians is out. I guess I saw it pop up on Netflix, but I thought maybe it was just, I didn't know it was
Starting point is 00:47:50 a new season. I thought they were just, like a spotlight. Yeah, no new season. And I binge watch it all in one day. I guess that's what you get when you're stuck at your house. So those are all where I'm at right now, I think. I also started watching the other sitcom with Tim Allen shifting gears. So again, like I said, I get on these kicks of things and I've just been on a sitcom kick,
Starting point is 00:48:14 but I used to watch with my dad tool time. What was that show? Home improvement. Yes, with Tim Allen. And so this is supposed to be like a similar version to that. So that's shifting gears. I don't know how I feel about that one yet, but I do. neighborhood's definitely the top and then man with a plan i'm kind of leaning into so that's where
Starting point is 00:48:34 we're out with all of those but fun easy that you could totally watch while you're doing other things and like have in the background which is up your alley okay so we're going to get out of here unless there's anything you want to add no i just hope you feel better soon this for you like i'm watching you right now and i'm like oh morgan do you feel anxious yeah i but i have zofran Thank goodness. My doctor prescribed me Zofran. So that is a miracle nausea drug. But yes, as soon as that wears off, I feel it immediately. I'm like, oh, pop another one. Yeah, Zofran's legit. That's what, when I did my ketamine therapy, I was getting so nauseous. And the first time I did it, I was like, oh, no, I think I'll be good. Like, I don't normally get impact, like nausea. I don't really get car sick.
Starting point is 00:49:27 I just kind of thought I was not going to have an issue. And I was so sick when I came out of it. Never again. I am taking Zofran. So you take Zofran before you do your little trip. With a guided therapist, by the way. I did it all by the books, legal, with an expert professional, a whole thing. And Zofran came in clutch.
Starting point is 00:49:57 Yeah, it is, I'm telling you, it is the, I've had so many nausea medicines because I am a prone to nausea with everything, but Zofran is a game changer. So yeah, besides that, I just feel kind of inhuman because I can't really move my head. So I just kind of feel like I'm a robot right now. You'll get your next race and then. Yeah, just wait till you see me coming in the studio Monday. I'm going to look so funny. Oh, yeah, you think you'll wear it to work on Monday. I think I'm going to have to.
Starting point is 00:50:26 I have a feeling this is not going to be over by the weekend. Morgan, if it's not over, do not come in. You don't need to be driving. Well, I told Lunchbox. Lunchbox text to me because you and Lunchbox both text me. We're like, do you need anything? And lunchbox is like, I know you don't like asking for help. So let me know if you need something.
Starting point is 00:50:42 And I was like, well, if I do manage to make it into work, you're probably going to have to come pick me up. Yeah. Okay. He's probably closer to you. But if he can't, I can pick you up too. Yeah, no, he is closer. I would not make you drive in the crazy Nashville traffic to come get me. It wouldn't be worth it.
Starting point is 00:50:57 Okay, we're going to jump over to listener Q&A because that's about all I have left to manage. But Amy, thank you for doing this. Thanks for being on here on Zoom for a weird little best bits and for sharing some little pieces of things. Yeah, no problem. That's the best bits of the week with Morgan.
