On a recent episode of the podcast, Money and Wealth with John Hobriant, I sit down with Tiffany

What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth
to the people when they're no longer here?
We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build real wealth, start
starting with the mindset shifts, too many of us were never, ever taught.
If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money, this conversation is for you to hear more.

Absolutely.
A redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip.
Just a little bit bigger hips.
This is a podcast.
We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey.
With all the snacks and drinks.
Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer?
Oh, they had a bogo.
Well, then you got it.

Every week I'm breaking down the biggest issues happening in our communities and around the world.

The Best Bits of the Week with Morgan.
Part one.
Behind the scenes with a member of the show.
What's up, everybody?
Happy weekend.
Lunchbox is joining me, lunch.
How are you?
Oh, man, I thought I was going to get to sleep in today, but no, here I am on a weekend,
and, you know, I'm just happy to be here, and I'm not going to even ask.
We'll just move on.
No, you know, actually, a listener would like you to give me a pep talk.
And I thought this could be really funny.
Oh, pep talk is easy, man.
Look, I mean, life goes on.
There's a lot of fish in the sea.
You wake up.
Listen, guess what?
The sun's still going to come up.
You're still going to have your friends.
And who gives, I mean, you give a crap, but guess what?
You win some, you lose some.
That's just like my soccer games.
I win some, I lose some.
But you tried your best.
you had fun
would you like if you had to
like if you looked at it in the mirror right now
if however long many months ago
five six months ago
someone would have come and told you said hey
you're going to have all these great memories
and get to do these amazing things and have these
amazing feelings
would you say I'm in for it
even though they say it's only going to last six months
or would you say nah
I'll pass I'd rather not
I'd rather be alone for six months and not experience
the happiness and the joy and the
fun and the ups and downs because the pain hurts.
And you know why pain is good though?
Why is pain good?
Because it lets you know you have feelings.
You know what?
I don't know.
I kind of wish I didn't have feelings right now.
No, no.
But do you see what I'm saying?
Like would you give back those six months and never had them?
No.
I mean, in this moment, yeah.
But me in a couple weeks, no, I wouldn't.
Yeah.
And then you just look at it like, hey, you know what?
he's the loser
he's the loser in this
true are you saying that because he lost me
yes because you're the badass
like you're the you're the you have to think of
you have to look in the mirror
and realize you're the crem de la crem
isn't that what they say like the top of the top or something
the cream rises to the top? I don't know
yeah sounds right sounds right sounds right sounds good
so you have to look in the mirror and you have to realize that
you're the crim de crem
and that
you are the one they got away from him.
He didn't get away from you.
Like you.
Even though he broke up with me?
Yes.
Okay.
Even though he broke up with you.
Because guess what?
People make bad decisions.
It's sort of like in high school when we stole a golf cart from my apartment complex.
Bad decision.
You know what I mean?
You never got arrested?
No.
Okay.
I mean, it was awesome, but it was a bad decision.
and he made a bad decision
and you had to just know that you
are the bees knees
you just that's the thing about life
is like you
it sucks it hurts it's sad
but you have to just
remember you're the all star
you're the
you're going to get up in the morning and you're going to have
a better day and you can't let
them him
it
yeah
yeah
you can't let him
steal the joy.
Like, yeah, it hurts. It hurts.
Ah, pain, pain. But pain is good.
Because you know why pain is good?
Why?
Because then when there is no pain, the good is even better.
Like you can realize, man, what amazing the top of the mountain is.
So pain is okay.
It's like when you're running that last mile of a marathon and you're like, dang, this is so
stupid.
Why am I doing this?
But then when you finish and you get to that, it's like, wow.
that the elation is amazing.
That was a really good comparison lunch.
I've never ran a marathon, but I can imagine that that would be super painful.
Okay.
How about running a 5K?
Have you run a 5K?
One time, but I think I walked a lot of it.
Okay.
See, okay.
How about the 100-yard dash?
That last 10 yards, Morgan.
Yeah.
You know, you can say the climbing the mountain.
I've climbed to a mountain.
You climbed a mountain.
You climbed a mountain.
You know, those last, you know, 100 yards up that mountain to get to the peak.
It's just like there's going to be pain involved.
And that's what day.
dating is.
Your dating is it's painful.
It's a mountain.
It's not like you just get to go up a little hill and everything works out except for
those weirdos that meet their significant other in like middle school.
That's weird.
Yeah, what's that like?
I don't know.
They don't really, but they have to have, they have to go through their mountains and pains
too, I would assume.
Yeah, just together instead of separately.
Right.
Like, I mean, you can't, it can't be smooth sailing from middle school until you're, you know,
Mary and all they there's no chance so most people have those oh man I think I'm at the top
of the peak and then you get to that peak and guess what you realize oh no there's another peak
a little farther up I've got to keep climbing that mountain and guess what you're not going to
give up right I mean you could there's moments I want to but no no you're not going to give up
that's the joy of it is some of it is the chase
It's fun.
Yeah, but the heartbreak is not fun.
Well, the heartbreak isn't fun.
Hey, I never said it was fun.
Have you ever been heartbroken?
Oh, when my grandparents died, yeah, I was heartbroken.
Yeah, that's some grief associated with it.
Different type of heartbreak.
Yeah, different type of heartbreak.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, not like that, not like dating-wise.
You always did the breaking up, huh?
No, I just didn't do the get close.
Until it was your wife.
Yeah, I mean, I was just more like, hey, what's so?
girl six street ah give me your tongue in my mouth all right next you know that's funny you say that though
you want to go to the hot tub i do think it's that's really awesome that you never like put yourself
in a position to make people feel things for you and then you just left on them kind of thing like
you were casually dating you were learning and having fun and then you met your wife you're like
okay i think i really like her and i'm going to stick around to here for a while it's like in high
school. I found it so crazy. Like a lot of people dated people. I mean, I guess some people
married the people from high school. So maybe it's not that weird. There are some high school
sweethearts. But that you date someone like all the high school. It's like, what are you doing?
You're wasting your entire high school career on that, on that one person. And 99% of those people
are not going to get married. Yeah, that's true. The statistics on that are much higher than
the latter. Like my, my brother, he had a buddy that dated this girl from like the second week
of high school and then like with two months left in high school, they looked at each other and
go, man, we've dated each other the whole high school. Maybe we should like go our separate
way. It's like, what are you doing? I guess it's just bananas. It's bananas. So what you're saying
if somebody's in high school right now, they should just have fun, casually date, not have that
relationship until it's like the one. Well, and see, that's the hard. And see, that's the
part is because maybe it is the one in high school.
Maybe that person is the one.
But most likely it's not.
And I just feel like people waste there so much time of high school doing that.
And it's just like, man.
But yes, you're going to be fine.
It sucks.
You're going to watch a lot of TV and you're going to cry and you're going to...
You know, lunch, I've actually been watching a whole lot of dumb action movies.
See, there you go.
To avoid the fact of my feelings.
Yeah, because you can't watch the rom-coms.
No, and I can't really watch anything that involves love.
So even the Disney staff, I'm watching things that just don't involve romantic things.
Oh.
Which is actually kind of hard to find movies like that.
But, you know, like Mad Max.
I've been watching Mad Max this weekend.
Mad Max.
Is there a TV show called Mad Max?
No, it's a movie.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
You know the movie?
It's terrible.
It's terrible.
But, like, it's the new one that came out too.
Driving through the desert and fighting.
It is so awful.
That movie is so terrible.
You're right, but I don't have to feel any feelings watching.
it and it's like dumb action maybe.
Well, what about like, I don't know, I've never seen a mission impossible.
Are those?
There's still love involved.
Oh, there is?
Yeah, but there, you are right.
Like, there's overarching.
There's mostly action.
I just need to be like full-blown dumb action.
Like, don't make me feel a single thing.
What about like Marley and me?
Oh, yeah, no.
Oh, oh.
That I would, I would be a wreck from the beginning.
Oh, what about, what about my girl?
I don't know what that one is.
I don't think I've even heard of that one.
No?
I know the song.
Don't watch it. Don't watch it. Is it horrible?
Don't watch it. Is it as horrible as showgirls?
A different type of horrible. Don't watch it.
Okay.
Especially at this date and you're, you're, don't know watch it.
Okay, okay.
Don't watch it. But for real, do you have any, like, dumb movies I should watch?
It can be older, too. I'm literally watching.
Have you ever watched Dumb and Dumber?
Yeah, I love Dumb and Dumb and Okay, that's good.
I am. I'm trying, like, dumb comedies and action movies are where I'm at right now.
dumb comedies.
Especially because I'm like at home by myself and like, you know, he was there all the time.
So like I'm really trying to fill that void.
And the only way I can do it without crying is the dumb action movie.
Yeah, yeah.
Because like when I got here this morning, you know, on a Saturday and I'm sitting in here waiting for you.
And I was like, okay, I don't know where she is.
I thought she went to the bathroom.
And you came back and I was like, when did you go to the bathroom?
She goes, no, I went to cry.
I'm like, oh, never mind.
All right.
So that's my pep- mornings are hard, okay?
Yeah, so that's my pep time.
Pep talk is just like...
That was a really good pep talk.
I don't know if it was.
I have no idea what I said.
You don't?
It was actually pretty good.
Yeah.
I think it was good for anybody who is going through something right now.
Yeah.
Pain makes you feel like, I mean...
See, here's the question.
Would you rather feel pain or feel nothing at all?
Pain.
Yeah.
It's just, you know, when it's happening, you don't want to feel it.
Of course.
But that lets you know that you're like...
Alive?
Yes.
You're right.
it's actually a really great perspective.
Because a lot of people that are, like, depressed or just, you know, they don't feel anything.
They just stay flat the whole time.
That's true.
And I'm fluctuating between being numb and feeling sadness.
But it's a stage, I think, of the process.
Yeah.
But you got your girls by your side.
That's true.
You know, like, what our girl?
Did you give him shoutouts?
No, I said Remy and Hazel too.
Oh, Remy and Hazel too.
Okay, they...
No, I have my girlfriend.
They count.
I mean, have you had to get, like, like, what do you call them?
Candles that burn flavor, a smell?
What?
They burn a flavor smell?
Well, whatever.
How can they burn a flavor smell off?
You know what I'm saying?
Like, they burn a type of smell so you can get his smell out of there?
Oh, no, I haven't done.
Are you taking about the saging thing?
I don't know.
No, just like...
Like, where they walk around with the...
No, no, because, like, I mean, I assume that he smelled like a certain way.
Well, thankfully, myself is 100% back.
That's true.
That's true.
That's a great point.
You know, the nose looking out for me.
Yeah.
So, no, I haven't done that yet.
I have had some girlfriend sleepovers, though.
See, there you go.
You know, trying to fill the space.
Yeah, I'm trying to think what dumb.
Nah, you can't watch that.
It's okay.
If you come up with more, let me know.
No.
Have you watched?
No, you may not like it.
No, you can't watch that.
That's a good show though.
Why can't I watch it?
No, is it because it has something in it?
Well, there's aspects of like man and woman relationship in it, but it's really, I mean, it's so dang funny.
Which one is it?
Colin from accounts.
Oh, yeah.
I tried to get into it.
I tried to watch the first episode and I couldn't get into it.
No, no, no, no.
You didn't give it a chance.
Okay, everybody always says that, but if it didn't get me by the first episode.
No, no, no.
If you didn't laugh in the first episode, like if you didn't laugh in the first like two minutes,
you don't have a very good sense of humor.
I don't, honestly, I don't know if I, I don't know.
You don't think you paid attention.
See, that's the problem.
Okay, okay.
But yeah, there's a relationship in it right now.
You did not give it enough attention.
You didn't pay attention.
We'll go with that.
If you watch, let me see, hold on.
Let me, let me Google.
Do you need me to Google it?
No, no, I've got a Google right here.
Let me see.
We may be here for a minute.
No.
Sorry, ladies and gentlemen.
I'm going to, because I'm going to tell you how many, I mean, if you can't get into it after one episode, I'm shocked.
Well, I don't know that I, I think it was because it starts out with like a animal getting hit, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I couldn't watch it because of that.
No, no, but you didn't even, that's what I'm saying.
You got to keep watching.
But like the animal doesn't live.
You have no idea what happens.
You can't
You can't say that because you never watched it
Yeah but I don't
I can't watch things where animals die
It's a problem
You need to
And that goes beyond the
You know right now in my life
That's just like I can't watch animals die
No no I didn't say
But I'm telling you
If you watch the first two episodes of that show
No now it's two episodes
The first episode, if you finish the first episode and you're not laughing, I don't know.
It is phenomenal.
Okay.
And your wife liked it too?
Oh, my wife liked it.
My mom liked it.
My dad doesn't like anything.
Okay.
He liked it.
And we got some people that live in the hood.
And we went to dinner with them.
We were talking about shows.
And we told them about that.
And they started watching it.
Let me see if I can pull up the text of what they said.
This is a lot of rave reviews.
I mean, it's a fantastic.
Is it only one season?
Yeah, right?
Yeah, there's only one season.
They said, oh, guys, he's going back through his phone again.
Here it goes, here goes.
You always say here it goes, but it's not here it goes.
Okay.
You're still scrolling.
Okay, hold on.
Okay, you ready?
Yeah, I'm ready.
They said, watch the first episodes in.
night. That was good. Can't wait for the second one. Then two nights later. Oh my God.
Watching calling from accounts. I have never seen my, I haven't seen my husband laugh this loud in
forever. Okay. So it'll at least make me laugh, even though there's a relationship.
Oh my God. It'll make you laugh. Okay. I do need a good laugh. Like I've had giggles, but I need
Oh, no, no, no, no.
You, if you, see, I don't know if you're in the state of mind, though.
Like, yeah, I think you should watch it.
Okay.
Well, I'll probably give it another chance.
I got lots of time.
I mean, just focus and dial in.
Okay, you want an inspirational movie?
Yeah.
The Barclay Marathons.
I feel like I watched.
It's a documentary.
It'll change your life.
Like, inspired to go run through a wall?
No, no, no.
It'll inspire you to
Why is it called the race eats it's young?
Oh, because it eats them live.
Wait, for real?
Mm-mm.
Not for real.
I thought you said it was inspiring.
No, it is inspiring.
It will show you that no matter how much pain you're in,
you can get through it.
It is the best movie out there.
Like your favorite movie of all time?
No, no, not favorite movie all time.
But I've seen it probably...
You just said it's the best movie out there.
No.
I have probably seen it at least ten times.
Really?
And it's a documentary?
Yes.
How long is it?
Like an hour and a half?
Yeah.
And I watched it the first time because I watched I watched Icarus.
And that came on afterwards that said, hey, if you like Icarus, you may like this.
I was like, this looks so stupid.
And I watched it and I was like, oh my gosh.
Oh my gosh.
So my wife got home from work.
I was like, hey, we got to watch this.
This is before we had kids.
I was like, we got to watch this documentary.
It's phenomenal.
Wait, so it came out, gosh, how long ago then?
What, like eight years?
I don't know.
You'd have to look.
Okay.
And so we watched it.
Then I think we went home for the holidays, like it was maybe Thanksgiving,
watched it with her family.
Then Christmas, I watched it with my family.
I mean, I watched it over and over and over again.
It is so good.
So good. Okay. You know, I honestly may give both of them a chance.
You know another one you need to watch?
Okay. You're giving me a long list. I need to start taking this.
Inspirational. Okay.
McFarland, USA.
That one I have seen. There you go.
That one's with Kevin Costner, isn't it?
Mm-hmm. Yeah, and he's like the race, the marathon.
He's the cross-country coach.
Yeah, yeah.
Hey, that's inspiring.
Okay, wait. So the Barclays?
The Barclay Marathons.
Barkley Marathon.
And then, um, call on my house.
Okay.
All right.
Well, these are great.
Thank you for your suggestions.
And for the pep talk.
Yeah, what a pep talk.
That was really great.
Or you just drink a lot of booze.
Like you're saying I should?
You could.
But you know,
you know,
the problem with that is,
then you get sad.
That's when you're.
Yeah,
I feel like it makes the sadness worse
instead of helping make it better.
Yeah,
I haven't.
I had like three sips of a beer the other night.
Oh.
That's the amount that I,
have drank during this whole process.
That's interesting.
So.
Okay.
Not intentionally.
Just like really trying to make sure I'm not masking my.
No, yeah, you're right.
I understand what you're saying.
Being healthy about it.
Yeah.
And then, you know, because then when you drink, you know what happens?
You call people.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We don't need to do that.
Yeah.
We don't need to do that.
No, you know what needs to be done.
What?
The old delete.
Oh, delete, block, let it go.
Everything.
Yeah.
I don't know how you.
I don't know about block, just delete.
Because you don't have it memorized, do you?
No, I don't have it memorized.
Delete.
Yeah.
It's still in there.
Now delete.
That's, I mean, that's how you rip the band-aid off.
You've got to unfollow, too.
Unfollow.
I know.
Maybe I'll get there.
No.
This one's so much different.
I just, I don't even know.
No, you're there.
Like, have you, oh, have you checked to see if he unfollowed?
He hasn't.
But you need, that's why you get the win.
You, you, you, you, you, you.
you win. You got to win that one.
No, I don't want to win, though. That's a problem. Yes, you do.
Not in this scenario. No, you do.
Okay. We're going to take a quick break. We'll be right back.
I'm Daniel Jeremiah. And I'm Greg Rosenthal. And this is 40s and free agents.

Yeah.
It is an actual Polish saying.
Better version of Play Stupid Games win stupid prizes.
Yes.
Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time.
I actually, I thought it was.
I got that wrong.
Listen to the Nick Dick and Poll show on the IHeart Radio app,

On a recent episode of the podcast, Money and Wealth with John Hobriant,
I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes
to take control of your money.
What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth
to the people when they're no longer here?
We break down budgeting, financial discipline,
and how to build real wealth, starting with the mindset shifts.
Too many of us were never, ever taught.
Financial education is not always about like, I'm going to get rich.
That's great.
It's about creating an atmosphere for you to be able to take care of yourself
and leave a strong financial legacy for your family.
If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money,
this conversation is for you to hear more.
Listen to Money and Wealth with John O'Brien from the Black Effect Network
on the IATHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast.
All right.
So I'm also utilizing some of these other questions that didn't make part three just to
talk about some things because, you know, as we just heard for a whole pep talk, I'm struggling.
So lunch, is there any food that you refuse to eat?
What's on your refuse to eat food list?
That is one question I will refuse to answer because, no, no, no, no.
Because things have a way to come back on this show.
Oh, like, yeah, yeah.
So we ain't talking about that.
That's off limits.
Like, there ain't anything.
There's not a lot of things that are off limits of me.
I'm not doing it.
Just because you don't want to be forced to eat it on the show.
Ding, ding, ding.
You got forced to eat avocado and you love guacamole.
Yeah, that's okay.
That's okay.
I like that.
Oh.
I do know a few of them.
You don't want to share any of them?
What do I not like?
Mayo.
Oh, no chance.
Nope.
That's a really strong one.
Oh, I just smelling it.
other one, though. Just smelling it. I can't. You don't like ranch either. Those are two condiments,
I know. Ranch, I mean, I can't even imagine people that like that. Like, I can't get it.
I love ranch. I had it with a piece of pizza the other night. Doesn't it just reek, though?
No. It doesn't. It smells so good. When I wore it to Jason's deli, it would make my stomach churn.
Really? Like more than blue, do you like blue cheese? I don't know. I don't know if I ever had blue cheese.
Or like blue cheese crumbles. I've had the crumbles. I've had the crumbles.
You like the crumbles, but I feel like blue cheese smells even worse than ranch.
Well, it's nothing about, I don't know, no, because it's manna.
It smells like, I mean, when I would fill it up on the salad bar, I'd have to turn my head to the side so I wouldn't vomit in all over the salad bar.
And as a delivery driver, thank you for calling Jason's deli in the colonnade.
We cater and deliver.
How can I help you today?
I would have to fill up big ones for the catering orders.
And I'd ask someone, hey, man, can you do that for me?
And I'll do this task.
Like, because I can't, I, like you had daily tests at the end of the day, like, oh, refill
like you had to make more ranch or whatever.
Yeah, because so many people probably ate it.
No, I had to trade.
I had to trade.
I could never do that one.
I can't.
You know, Jason's dilley actually sounds good.
I haven't really eaten for like a week, but.
Well, that's not smart.
I mean, you need food.
Like, food gives you energy.
Yeah, I know.
Energy makes your mind, you know, smart and like, yeah.
I know, but you can't like force an appetite.
And right now there's zero appetite.
Right, right.
But even though you don't have an appetite, your body's still hungry.
Yeah.
I mean, like when you're sick.
Now, I get it when you're sick that you can't eat.
Well, I am sick.
No, you're not sick.
I'm heart sick.
Okay.
Well, you're mind sick.
I get it.
That's true also.
Yes.
But Jason's deli, their salad bar is so mom.
It is good.
So I might go eat there this weekend.
Man, Jason's deli was so good.
That was a fun place to work.
Was it?
Yeah.
I mean, I liked it.
Like fun because you got first.
food or fun because the environment was fun?
I don't know.
I mean, really wasn't, I mean, I don't know if it was really that fun because I wasn't
really there that often because I had to go do deliveries, but I liked my boss, Jason and
the, you know, GM Rose.
Were you jamming out in your car when you showed up for delivery?
Were you, like, viving out in your car?
No, I don't vibe out in my car.
I didn't jam music in my car.
So you're just driving in silence?
No, I was probably listening to sports.
you know.
That's a lot less exciting than I wanted to do.
But yeah, Eddie worked at the register of the to go to go counter.
Not our Eddie.
No, different Eddie.
Different Eddie.
Different Eddie Garcia.
Interesting.
Yeah.
Isn't that wild?
That's foreshadowing in itself.
Yeah.
But I mean, I made my, I mean, the number two delivery driver is pretty, pretty impressive.
Of the year for Jason's day?
No, no.
I mean, I worked my way out to the number two delivery driver.
There were tiers for delivery driver.
Oh, yeah.
Like if you were one of the top two, you got to do breakfast and lunch.
And you wanted that.
It has more money, more tips.
Like you got paid more and you got more tips.
Well, you didn't get paid more.
You just got more tips and more deliveries.
So when you get more deliveries, you get paid more.
How do you like work up to number two?
Do you just do it enough of them?
I'm just so good at it.
Be a badass.
You get like rating from.
No, you just show up on.
I mean, I don't know.
I really have no idea how.
I mean, I think I was there.
Lana and Jason's like, this dude's good.
And he would start.
Hey man, you want to come in on breakfast?
Yeah.
I didn't even think Jason and Sally did breakfast.
Yeah.
Do they do like breakfast sandwich?
Now I don't know if they do, like I don't know, that's a great question.
I don't know if they're open to the public for breakfast.
But they do breakfast platters like for delivery.
Oh.
Huh.
Yeah.
That's why I don't think I've ever been in there.
I've always been in there for like lunch.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
Yeah, that's what it was.
We weren't open.
Like it wasn't open for breakfast.
but you could order breakfast trays and have them delivered to you.
Breakfast Sammy's or something?
Yeah, they were like eggs and bacon on a croissant or, you know, with melted cheese, things like that.
Okay.
Fruit.
Dang.
Y yogurt.
I might have to get a little Jason's daily breakfast platter one morning.
Hey, one time I did, though, I was going to a delivery in his downtown San Antonio.
And it was an office building and I got up to the eighth floor and I'm walking down the hall.
and I dropped their potato salad.
No, you didn't.
I just scraped them back now.
No.
Yeah.
Because I was like, man, this is what I thought in my head right then.
That's so gross.
This is what I thought in my head.
That person probably got sick after that meal.
I was going to have to drive all the way back to the Jason's Deli and the colonnade
and get more potato salad and drive all the way back downtown.
That would have been no money that day.
That would have been, I would have wasted my whole day on that one delivery.
Okay.
But did you at least just like scrape what was like on top to go back in or did you like scrape all of it?
I mean, it didn't all go off, but it was just like, you know, it looked.
It didn't look as good because it was kind of like, you know, it wasn't like calm and.
Oh, that's so gross.
You know that person had food poisoning the next day.
No, no.
There was no food poisoning.
But not because the food was bad, but because there were germs on the floor and then there was germs in the...
Nah.
Whatever it kills you.
Makes you stronger.
Do you ever listen to that song a lot?
Kelly Clarkson.
Is that it?
Yeah.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
There you go.
Have you been listening to that?
No, I haven't.
You should.
I do think it might be on my previous heartbreak.
Do you know another good song for you right now?
What song?
Katie Perry.
I got the eye of the time.
I thought you were about a guy.
I kissed a girl.
And I was like, what?
I don't know why I just anticipated you saying
Katie Perry.
I kissed a girl.
And I was like, why would that sound matter?
Well, I mean, it might be.
Oh, okay.
I have the tiger.
Yeah.
Or is it called roar?
I don't know.
Oh, you got the eye of a tiger.
Let me see you.
Let me see you.
Oh, another one.
Hey.
I'm combining two songs.
I think I'm going to come up a playlist for you.
I got another one.
Yeah.
What's the other one?
I didn't ask you.
Girl crush.
Okay.
That's weird.
Also, I have the tiger a survivor.
No, no.
I understand.
Katie Perry is roar.
Thank you.
But it says, I've got the eye of the tiger.
Yeah.
But that's too funny.
All right.
Yeah.
Thank you for the music suggestions.
Speaking of music, who in country music would you most like to have a beer with or play golf with?
Oh, man.
You've met a lot of them.
So maybe you don't have any at this point.
Well, I'm trying to, I think I'd want to play golf with Jelly Roll.
Have you ever played golf with them?
No, no, never.
I think that would be fun because I think Jelly Roll and I get along well and he's fun, like, he's just cool.
Like, he's chill.
And y'all would like party on the course.
Not even necessarily party.
Like I just, you don't have to party, you know, but he just seems like fun, relaxed environment, kick it, just hang out for four hours talking about whatever.
I think that would be fun.
I mean, to be honest, I don't even know.
I'd like to have a beer with Carrie Underwood.
You would go there.
Why?
Nothing.
All right, moving on.
American soccer is about to explode.
The World Cup is coming.
Ramos sending on to Ernie Stewart the chip.

The biggest decisions.
If you're going to look at stats and numbers,
he has no shot at making this World Cup team.

It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals

You think Canada has a president?
You think China has a president?
President de lax rosette.
God, I love that thing.
I use it all the time.
I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night.

Yep.
It was a good one.

What's your favorite vacation destination? Las Vegas. It's not even a question.
Of all the places in the world, Las Vegas is your favorite place to go.
Well, you act like I've been to a lot of places in the world?
You haven't? No. In the country, have you?
Well, in the country, maybe. I don't know. No, not even really in the country.
Is it because you keep going back to Vegas?
Well, I will say that in my, from 21 till 35, probably, all I did was go to Vegas.
Like with your friends or by yourself?
No, with friends.
I never.
Have you ever gone to Vegas by yourself?
No.
Would it probably not be as fun if you?
No, it could be amazing.
Oh.
You drink, you gamble, you.
No limits.
Yeah, no limits.
There's no.
there's no stopping it.
Like, it's amazing.
Okay.
I guess.
Because I didn't realize, like, as a kid, we didn't travel.
We went to peak of Kansas to see grandparents.
We went to Chicago to see grandparents.
And one time we went to Atlanta to see cousins.
That was it.
There was no, like, go places.
Like, we didn't go places.
So I didn't realize you could go places.
And so I got my first taste of Vegas when I was 21.
Wait.
Was that the first, like, adult trip you took to?
What do you mean?
Vegas.
So, like, you were talking about how you guys, you didn't know you could go places.
Like your first trip that you realized, okay, I can go somewhere.
Was it Vegas?
Yeah.
That 20, when you were 21?
Yes.
Well, and I didn't even know about Vegas, really.
Because my parents didn't gamble.
I didn't know anything about it.
I was in college and they were selling raffle tickets for two round trip airfare tickets
anywhere Southwest Airlines flies.
And I told some guy in my class was selling it for what,
I don't know what it was a fundraiser for,
what club or what,
you know,
organization they were a part of.
And I was like,
man,
if they're selling these and I haven't really heard about it,
that means that many people have bought tickets,
right?
And so I was,
I'll buy five tickets,
man.
And I get a call,
I don't know,
a few weeks later.
And I was like,
shut up.
And I hung up on them.
I thought I was so en messing with me, but I really won.
And I was just like, man, that's crazy.
But I'd never been anywhere, so I didn't know where to go, you know?
And then I held on to them for like a few months.
And then they were about to expire.
Oh, so you had to go.
Yeah.
And my friend Nina was like, why don't we go to Vegas?
I was like, what?
What's that?
I don't know.
And she was like, you've never been to Bay.
I was like, no.
So me and Nina went to Vegas.
And it was, I was like, wow, this is the craziest thing ever.
Did you lose a lot of money?
No, I won money.
And what's crazy is.
On your first year about there, you won money.
You don't lose it.
Well, that's what they do.
They let you win money your first time.
Yeah, but they don't know what's your first time.
I know, I'm joking.
I was playing $5 a hand of blackjack.
And I mean, you want to talk about me sitting there just like stressing over
every little bit.
And the dealer even told me at one point,
he goes, imagine if you were actually betting some money,
you would have won a lot more money.
You know what I mean?
Like making fun of me.
Oh, so he got you.
That guy is the reason you now bet a lot of money, huh?
No, it's just, I mean,
it's just different circumstances.
I just now I realize, man, if you're going to win money,
you got to bet a lot.
You got to bet more.
That's how they get you.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, it is how they get you.
And I, uh, one day,
I ended up at the stratosphere with these random people.
And I was drinking a little bit.
And I spilled a drink on the table.
And the dude was like, get this guy a sippy cup.
This guy needs a sippy cup.
And I'll never get that.
And I remember him telling the lady, like the cocktail wagers didn't come around for a long time.
And he was like, ma'am, I'm going to need a bud light every five minutes.
and she goes, sir, you
you can only have one drink at a time.
He goes, I will have the beer, the Budlight finish.
So bring me a Bud Light every five minutes until I pass out,
then make it every two minutes.
Never forget that, dude.
Did he get a beer every five minutes?
Yeah.
I mean, tip.
It's great.
Good for him.
That was really fun.
That was my first trip to, you know, Vegas.
It was great.
And we went to the club.
Oh, man, it was awesome.
This is where lunchbox
We came to lunchbox
Yeah and we stayed at this place
I think it was called the boardwalk
And it's not there anymore
It's where the city center is now
But it used to be this
It had a roller coaster on it
It was old and crappy hotel
But that's where we stayed
It was legit
Really funny
I feel like my favorite
Vacation spot
So far is the Grand Cayman's
In the Bahamas
That I've been to
So south of Florida
Got it
You know the like where down
in the Caribbean.
The really blue pretty waters.
Okay.
You've probably heard of them.
Heard of them.
At least, right?
Well, one of those islands in there is called Grand Cayman.
Okay.
And it has like white, soft sand.
And the water is crystal clear blue.
I've never seen a beach, anything like it, not even in Florida.
And it became my favorite place.
I think we, like, swam with stingrays down there.
We saw, we, like, snorkeled and saw a bunch of different little fish.
in the sea. It was just a really pretty area.
Okay. The vast difference between our
favorite destinations is amazing.
Yeah. Well, I mean, I will say
Alaska was amazing.
I don't know. Alaska is a really good. Like, it's amazing.
I just don't, it's not easy to get to, so
it's not like one that I would be able to go
and travel to a lot. So I went and it was really
cool. It can still be your favorite, though, even though
you can go to a lot. Yeah, but Vegas, I mean, is right there
and I can go anytime and I can do all this stuff.
Okay. The man. The cultured side of
you is Alaska. The gambling man
is Vegas. Yeah. The, in the
food and the just atmosphere.
Everybody, when you get off that plane in Vegas, everybody is just bouncing.
They got a different, they got a little pep in their step because they're like, they are
about to change their lives.
Then when you're heading back to their plane, everybody's downtrodden, looking at the
ground, looking like they've been run over by a truck, you know, it's like, oh, it's
a tale of two cities.
It's hilarious.
I mean, if you watch, if you could just do a little like a montage,
And just do people getting off the plane, people getting on the plane, people getting on the plane.
Off the plane, on the plane.
In Vegas, it would be a great video.
Oh, I may right.
Some very vast differences.
I mean, there was one time I was leaving Vegas and I'm on the window seat and there's this girl in the aisle and she is just, I mean, she's hungover as I'll get out.
Got her shades on.
She gets the puke bag out and she's just, I mean, she's already vomiting.
We ain't even taken off yet.
I do feel like if there's one city that experiences the most hungover people on a plane,
especially like those morning flights, it's Vegas.
And I have been one of those on over people.
The flight attendant literally brought her a trash bag and she just vomited in that for a little while.
Dang.
Yeah.
Or you like, girl, can you sit somewhere else?
No, I just went to sleep.
I was like, all right, cool.
If you're going to do this, don't throw up on me.
That's all I care about.
And like my cousin.
You didn't, right?
No.
And my cousin Andrew one time we went and he was in college at Texas Tech.
He was getting his master's shout out, Andrew.
You'll never hear this.
But he went with us for a fantasy football trip.
And we were out at the club and it was like 6 o'clock in the morning.
He was like, oh my God, my flight leaves 8.30.
I got to go.
And he leaves.
He said he was so hungover that like when they landed in Lubbock,
he had to push through people run up the jetway and find the first trash game in him.
Br-ha!
That's funny.
Yeah.
I get it.
I've been there.
He's like, I mean, it was bad.
You go, this is real bad.
Well, my last question for you, before you go on any more vomit stories.
Happy Saturday, guys.
This is going to round us out.
So quick answer.
Messy or Ronaldo.
Oh, messy.
Okay.
Messi is so much better.
So much better.
Like better or like your favorite.
Do you have a favorite over the two?
No, I mean, well, I mean, I'd say Messi.
I just think he's better.
Okay.
Better.
He's better.
All the way.
round.
Well, shout out to Sarah and Idaho, Tracy from Washington, Keaton and Montana, Lori from Texas.
Wait, Keaton from Montana, no crap?
Yeah.
Oh, man.
You know that person?
No.
Okay.
Lawy from Texas, summer in Texas.
They all helped contribute to some of these questions and stuff.
Hey, summer in Texas.
Did you ever live in Kansas?
Did you ever live in Topeka?
Did you date a summer?
No.
There was my grandparents where they lived right behind them.
They didn't have fences.
So it was like a big open, like all the houses, there was a big kind of common play.
And Summer, Sky, and Shea and Topeka, they were two brothers and a sister lived behind my grandparents.
So I didn't know if that was Summer from Topeka.
You know, maybe.
I have no, and what's crazy is I have no idea, like, because my grandparents moved from there when I don't know how old I was, seven, eight years old, nine.
Yeah.
So I don't know whatever happened to Summer Shy and Sha.
Shay, Summer, and Sky.
I don't know what happened to him.
Well, maybe one of them's listening and you can reconnect.
Summer was the older sister.
Then there was Sky and Shea was the youngest, I think.
I think that's right.
It's insane.
Your memory is insane.
Yeah.
Like, I'm envious of your memory.
Very great.
Okay, we're going to bounce out of here.
I mean, that's so dumb that I know that.
Like, it's so dumb.
It is, but like it's impressive that you do also.
So crazy.
Okay.
We're going to get out of here at Lunchbox.
