Starting point is 00:03:08 Behind the scenes with a member of the show. Happy Saturday. It's Best Best Best Time and everyone's favorite. Mr. Lunchbox is joining me. Well, everybody's favorite unless he yells or comes in and makes laughing for five minutes on my podcast. Okay. You tell me what. I don't know why that was so funny when school was in here.
Starting point is 00:03:30 You guys were insane. That was hilarious. Probably because you guys love finding joy in making fun of me. Wait, wait, we didn't make funny you at all. It was about the podcast and it was about coming in on a Saturday and this whole bit that you guys have been doing for years. No, no, here's the funny part. I've never discussed that with Scuba. I've never said anything to scuba about it.
Starting point is 00:03:54 That's not true. You guys have discussed it because you overhear each other talking about it. Like you'll talk to me and then one of people chime in. Literally, I have never taught to Scoob about it in my life. The fact that he was on the same wavelength as me and we just looked at each other and we've heard you multiple times. And we could not control the laughter. Also, people used to edit the best bit so he heard your joke all the time. I don't think he knows.
Starting point is 00:04:18 I don't know. It was just and maybe we were just in a mood that day, but it was hysterical. Okay. Sterecule. Lunchbox is joining me this weekend. Welcome to Best Bits. I want to know how dad life is going lunch. Give me the latest on how you are.
Starting point is 00:04:34 How's the kids? How's the wife? We're doing good. We are, what, two months into kindergarten. Okay. With the oldest? With the oldest. No, yeah, with the oldest.
Starting point is 00:04:47 And it's great. I mean, he seems to love it. He talks about these kids that I have no idea who they are because you don't meet the kid. I mean, I've never met the kids. And he's like, oh, this kid, this kid, this kid, ooh, this kid, ooh. and I'm like, cool, all right. Yeah, I bet they sound awesome, dude. Well, but that sounds like he's making friends.
Starting point is 00:05:09 Wasn't he the one you were worried? Wasn't making friends? Well, I mean, going to a new school, you just, it's like, I don't know how it's going to work. And he's doing great. But I am writing that, right? It was him. I don't remember. The one that you got the call the cops on because you went to watch the playground?
Starting point is 00:05:27 No, no, no, that was a different one. Oh, it was a different one? Everyone one. Okay. Well, then I was going to say, good job. He's getting a friend. No, no, no, different one. And then my middle one, I mean, he's just, he's me. Like, he's rocking and rolling, diving on the ground for everything. Like, just every. Is the oldest a mix of both of you kind of? Oh, no, he's my wife. Oh, okay. He has my wife. He has my build, but he, personality-wise, he's my wife. Okay. And then the second is you? Oh, my goodness. He is a. a maniac, maniac. And the youngest is going to be a maniac. You think the youngest is gearing towards you or you think it may be a mix? Gearing towards me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Because the younger two, it used to be the older two just wrestled all the time. Now the older one, he doesn't wrestle with them as much. Now the younger two, I mean, they just wrestle all the time and they play, I mean, they'll just pick up a toy and be like, it's by football. And they'll play tackle football right there on the floor. Like, I mean, not on the carpet, like on the tile kitchen floor. And it's like, guys, why don't you go outside in the grass? And the oldest is too good for that now?
Starting point is 00:06:38 He'll get in there sometimes. What they love to do is wrestle me. Like, I mean, they want to just wrestle me all the time. All three of them are just the middle. All three of them. All three of them. We just wrestle all time. That's all they want. Or they want to talk about toots.
Starting point is 00:06:51 And they want toot on you. They think that's the funniest thing they've ever done in their life is tooting on you. And, oh, come here, Dad, Dad. Can I sit on your lap? Oh, you think it's a sweet moment. Ah, I've tuted on you. Sounds like you and it sounds like boys. Yeah, it's just constantly all the time.
Starting point is 00:07:08 And then at the dinner table, it's like, the type of conversation is, hey, raise your hand if you tuted today. That's what the topic is. Is there anything you're not liking about being a dad at this point? Oh, no. I mean, there's days. I'm just like, oh my gosh, you guys are driving me nuts. but, oh, I mean, it's just, it's so fun. I mean, you don't ever get a break.
Starting point is 00:07:32 That's tough. But whatever. With the oldest now in kindergarten, does it feel weird that he's, like, getting older and he's going to school? Oh, gosh. We don't want to talk about it. We don't talk about it. Oh, okay. We just pretend that's not happening.
Starting point is 00:07:44 We pretend that's not happening. Like, it is so freaking crazy. Because doesn't that mean the next one? Yeah, it does. Next year? Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:07:53 Are they, are they each year after? No. Then the. youngest will be two years. Okay. So it'll be third grader, second grader, kindergartener. Right?
Starting point is 00:08:05 Is that right? Yeah. That's right. So this is the start of their whole school lives is starting now. And I'm proud to say that we have gone a month and a half and we have perfect attendance. Impressive. Yeah. Did you have perfect attendance?
Starting point is 00:08:21 Heck no. But I mean like when you were younger, not necessarily college high school. Not middle school. Not elementary school. Got it. No. Was that a you thing or was it more like your parents? No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:08:35 Here's the thing. If you had perfect attendance, you're full of crap. You were at school sicker than a dog getting other people sick. There is no chance you can go all that time without being sick. Yeah. There's just no chance. Zero percent chance. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:51 So two months is a good streak. Yeah. Got it. I'd say so. Yeah. It's been a long time. since I was a kid. I mean, my dad was here, and he watched the kids when we went to Vegas for IHeart Festival.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Yeah. Hashtag IHeart Festival 2024, if you want to check it out on, and you can check it out on Hulu. And make sure you mark that down that we got the plug in. Oh, thank you. Do you know when it's airing on Hulu? Yeah. It's 7 p.m. On what day?
Starting point is 00:09:19 I don't know. Okay. Some baby box was like, woke up one morning, like, oh my hip my hip I can't walk I can't walk he's like I'm in so much pain my dad's like I don't know what to do so he's calling me in Vegas and it's freaking you know 3 30 in the morning Vegas time you know what I mean I'm like oh my gosh you think you're going to go and be able to sleep in no he's trying to call the pediatrician all this and baby boss just laying on the cash I'm not I can't walk it hurts so bad It hurts so bad.
Starting point is 00:09:53 It hurts so bad. And so, like, five minutes before the bus is going to be there, my dad's like, bud, the bus is going to be here. Like, you're going to miss it. And he gets, okay, I can walk again. So I don't really know if it really hurt or if he was just trying to get my dad to feel bad so he could stay home with my dad. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:10:13 He wanted to stay home with Grandpa, what it was. That was that. That's funny. That sounds a whole lot like lunchbox, though. Yeah, it was pretty funny. It's just like, oh, I can't move. I can't move and then the bus going to be here. And nothing ever happened after that?
Starting point is 00:10:27 He was fine. He was fine. No hip problems ever after. Not since then. Also, of all the problems that he came up with that he could have, why his hip? Do you complain about your hip at home? No, I assume at that age he may have growing pains. Maybe he's just, he really does.
Starting point is 00:10:43 He probably has growing pains. I bet you your bones hurt, your muscles hurt because you're growing. But I never heard anything about hip pain. He was talking about his hip hurting. Dang. Yeah. Do you think he's about to have, like, a gross spurt? Does that happen this early?
Starting point is 00:10:59 Yeah. It happens a lot. Okay. I didn't know that that much. I didn't know if there was like that. I think the middle one is going through a gross spurt. Okay. Because that dude is eating, I mean, he eats three helpings of everything.
Starting point is 00:11:12 I just mean, like, I feel like when your joints start to hurt, it's when you're getting older. And, like, you're really. Yeah, he's getting older. It's crazy. Like every day he's getting older. I know, but he's so little. old. But it's weird like they're, they get little hair on their legs. Oh, it's like, oh. Oh, he really is getting older. Yeah. No. Yeah. It's like weird. Which means you're also, do you think about the fact that you're also getting older?
Starting point is 00:11:36 We don't talk about that. We don't talk about that. We don't talk about that. We don't talk about that. Don't talk about it. I know. You're so weird about it. Okay. No, I'm not weird about it. I'm not weird. It's just life. You get old? Nah. Okay. Well, uh, you want to know something funny? Uh, we don't know. We at the bars this weekend? Oh, yeah, I would like to know because I haven't been to the bars in a long time. So we found a bouquet of flowers on the ground. Somebody got upset. I'm not really sure what happened there.
Starting point is 00:12:02 But we found the bouquet of flowers. Someone got upset. That's what we assume. Like an abandoned bouquet of flowers. Oh, they just forgot them. I mean, they were on a street in Broadway, so. Well, that's what I'm saying you're drunk and you drop them or? A whole bouquet?
Starting point is 00:12:14 Yes. This guy, I don't know. Whatever. We found him. And so we picked him up and we started handing them out to all the guys, the things we gave guys their flowers. at the bars. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:24 We didn't like use it as like a get numbers. We just literally were handing them out to random dudes. Interesting. And they loved it. I'll bet they did. There was not a single guy that we gave one to them. Of course they didn't. Some chicks are coming up to them and handing out flowers.
Starting point is 00:12:37 They're not going to be like, what the hell are you doing? Get away to me. If somebody came up to you and gave me a flower, we'd be like, yeah, thanks. This is cool. Or would you be like, this is weird? No, I'd be like, okay, cool, thanks. But yeah, you have a group of young, attractive females, handing you a flower, why would you be upset?
Starting point is 00:12:54 I know. Like, everybody would be like, heck yeah. There was one of them. There was a German guy who just moved here because he's going to like the NBA program, I guess at Vanderbilt. Yeah. And I was handing him a flower and he,
Starting point is 00:13:08 I could hardly understand him because he had such a thick accent. I was like, sir, I really don't know what you're saying, but you're still flower and I just walked away. Because I didn't know what else to do. I panicked. And so you guys didn't get one number out of that? No, we were, it wasn't the intention. Honestly, the intention was really good to like make connections.
Starting point is 00:13:27 I understand, but the guys are like, okay, like you didn't give your number to one of those guys. I gave my number to a guy, but it wasn't, the flower was not involved. So. Okay. Maybe it just, you know, set up the energy for the night. Yeah. I just wonder, because, I mean, I don't understand how there's any negative to that. If I'm a dude, I'm like, yeah, what up?
Starting point is 00:13:48 Oh, I just didn't know. This chick is into me. I don't know if guys are like, ooh, flower. What are you doing? That's not for me. I mean, they didn't carry it around with them all night. Like, once you left, they set it down and never. Probably.
Starting point is 00:13:59 Or they used it to give it to another chick. That's possible. Yeah. Pass it down the line. You know, we were just hooking everybody up. Yeah, that's good. That's pretty fun. What kind of flowers?
Starting point is 00:14:10 Were they roses? Were they dandelion? Not dandelion. Daffodil. It might be daffodil. I don't know what that is. They look, they kind of look like. Oh, sunflowers.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Yeah, but they're not. Oh, buttercups. I'm not explaining it. Bajiania. Bagonia. All of them, yep. All of them. Baby's breath.
Starting point is 00:14:32 I don't know. I don't know. They were red. Oh, okay. They weren't roses. Okay. And they weren't carnations. Irises.
Starting point is 00:14:40 Sure. I don't know what an iris looks like. Oh my gosh. You need to study your flowers. I do know a lot of the ones you were saying, but I don't know which one specifically this one. It's just a regular flower. I can't help you then. I can't, I can't help you. Okay, well, we are going to take a quick break and we're coming back.
Starting point is 00:14:57 And I want to talk about the artist bars on Broadway. Speaking of being on Broadway. Oh, my gosh. We're going to talk about it. Yes. What's up, everyone? I'm Ago Wodom. My next guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live,
Starting point is 00:15:10 and the Big Money Players Network. It's Will Ferrell. Woo, woo, woo, woo. My dad gave me the best advice ever. I went and had lunch with him one day. And I was like, and Dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up and coming talent.
Starting point is 00:15:31 He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet. Yeah. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be a nice. inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah. It would not be. Right. It wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Yeah. Listen to Thanks, Dad, on the IHeart
Starting point is 00:16:05 Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. In 2023, former Bachelor star Clayton Eckerd found himself at the center of a paternity scandal. The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. You doctored this particular test twice in so-ins, correct? I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case. I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Sunlight's the greatest disinfected. They would uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg Lespian and Michael Marincini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trap. Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences.
Starting point is 00:17:00 Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at Americopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges. This isn't over until justice is served in Arizona. Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. There's two golden rules that any man. should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never mess with her friends either.
Starting point is 00:17:34 We always say that trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends, oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care. So they take matters into their own hands.
Starting point is 00:17:57 I said, oh, hell no. I vowed I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, Ernest, what's up?
Starting point is 00:18:20 Money is something we all deal with. But financial literacy is what helps turn income into real wealth. On each episode of the podcast, Earn Your Leisure, We break down the conversations you need to understand money, investing, and entrepreneurship. From stocks and real estate to credit, business, and generational wealth, we translate complex financial topics into real conversations everyone can understand. Because the truth is, most people will never taught how money really works. But once you understand the system, you can start to build within it.
Starting point is 00:18:50 That means ownership, smarter investing, and creating opportunities not just for yourself, but for the next generation. If you want to learn how to build wealth, understand the markets, and think like an owner. Earn Your Leisure is the podcast for you. Listen to Earn Your Leisure on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Will Ferrell's Big Money Players and IHeart Podcast Presents Soccer moms. So I'm Leanne. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:16 This is my best friend, Janet. Hey. And we have been joined at the hips since high school. Absolutely. Now a redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip. Just a little bit bigger hips, wider. This is a podcast. We're recording it.
Starting point is 00:19:28 as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey with all the snacks and drink sidebar why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer they had a bogo well then you got it do you want a white collar something here just take it what are y'all doing microphones are you making a rap
Starting point is 00:19:44 album oh I would come on could you believe I would buy it cuts through the defense like a hot knife through sponge cake that sounds delicious oh you're lucky I'm not a drug addict you're lucky I'm not an alcohol You're lucky. I'm not a killer.
Starting point is 00:20:00 I love this team and I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on. Listen to soccer moms on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right. I know you haven't been out in forever lunchbox. You're a dad now. Stop it. You know, partying is the way of the past. But have you been to some of the artist bars on Broadway? Can we stop with the artist bars?
Starting point is 00:20:30 Well, I want to do an honest review of them I'll do an honest review I'm going to do an honest review But we have to talk about them I'm going to tell you about them Okay Okay It's got to stop
Starting point is 00:20:41 Like every bar is now an artist bar There's no just bar Like it's so annoying Yeah none of them that are popping up Are just a regular run of the mill bar with no attachment And I guess people coming here want that
Starting point is 00:20:57 But here's a little secret people The people have nothing to do with their bars. Nothing. Well, so they just use decorations. Yeah, I was going to say they have all their memorabilia and stuff up. They're all the same. And the artists sometimes go to their own bars. I think that's really what it is.
Starting point is 00:21:16 They do not. No, they do. No, they don't. I've seen them at them. When? Miranda, specifically, she loves going to her bar. Luke Bryan goes to his. He posts on social media from his all the time.
Starting point is 00:21:27 So does his wife and his mom. Yeah, okay. So those I've seen, I don't know about the newer ones. I don't know that you're going to see Eric Church on Broadway. Never. It's just, I don't know. I feel like everybody's getting a bar, which is ridiculous. Okay.
Starting point is 00:21:44 That's fair. It's ridiculous. What happened to having like different cool bars, like second fiddle or whatever? Those are fun. You're talking about like the old school. Yes. Those are legit. Now, now I just feel like they all build.
Starting point is 00:22:00 the exact same bar and just put a different artist name on it. Yeah. And so the, you know. First floor, live band. Second floor, DJ. Third floor. You're on the rooftop with, you know, a mister. I mean, it's like, it's the exact same bar, just a different name.
Starting point is 00:22:16 Okay. So this is why I wanted to give you my honest review because I've now seen every artist bar. I've been in. I've partied in every artist bar on Broadway. Go for it. So Morgan Wallens. Tiny. There's so many stairs.
Starting point is 00:22:29 So many. It goes straight up. It's more than the average bar on Broadway, and that's saying a lot because a lot of the bars have multiple stairs. But this one has like six flights of stairs. Yeah. And it's all, all like squished in because there's stairs on both sides. Yes, it's very small. The smallness.
Starting point is 00:22:48 Yeah. It shoots straight up instead of wide. Yeah. It's one of those tall skinnies they build now. The house is, ugh. But the music was great. So they had good live music. That was my one review.
Starting point is 00:23:00 Okay. That's what I got. Okay. I haven't had food there though, so the food could be good, but the music was good. Eric Churches. Dueling piano bar steals the entire show. Of course. That's the only cool thing.
Starting point is 00:23:13 But I will say the first floor did look so different than all the other bars. They did like an old school divey type look to it. So it looks much different than all the other ones. So the first and the second floor, amazing. Rooftop, not really worth it. Also, because now there's a barriced. up because of Morgan Wallis. Yeah. A dueling piano bar
Starting point is 00:23:34 is always a great great time. Great time. So that one was worth it. Eric Church's dueling piano bar. Garthbrook's bar. Looks like every other bar on Broadway. Yeah. Besides the rooftop, which has a little bit of a beachy vibe. It has a different theme on every floor because of each song or
Starting point is 00:23:52 his songs. I would say the rooftop is the only part of that bar that I would like explore again. Otherwise, That's the, that's the beach one. Yeah. Yeah, that's the beach one. Lany Wilson's.
Starting point is 00:24:06 I mean, she took over FGL Houses. She's the same thing just with her decorations. Pretty much. But she does have a dueling piano bar underground. And again, love a dueling piano bar. It's awesome. Wait, wait, wait. See, now we're in trouble.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Now we have two dueling piano bars. Mm-hmm. But they're both really good. And they are both different. So Eric Churches looks like a straight-up dive bar, like dive bar, dwebore dueling piano bars, small, kind of tighten it. The underground piano bar at Lany
Starting point is 00:24:34 Wilson's is very Louisiana theme. There's crocodiles. I think they're crocodiles or alligators on the wall. And they, it's more moody and a little bit more space down there. How crowded was Lany's bar? There is, I mean,
Starting point is 00:24:50 not all of these. Like, there was lines to get in. Okay. So, everybody's trying to go to them. Got it. But that's why I'm saying, like, honest review. And still, like, one of my favorite bars down there, Tootsie's, it also still has lines. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You kind of kind of take your picture.
Starting point is 00:25:07 Right, but Tootseys you got to go to because it's different. Like these other ones, I feel like you could literally pick any of them and feel like you're in the same bar, almost. In a way, yes. So that's why I say like Eric Church has a little bit of a different vibe, but yeah, the rest of them are pretty similar in the way that they go about things. Yeah. The best food at all of those so far that I've had is at Jason Aldeins.
Starting point is 00:25:28 The food is good. Al Dean's food is really good. That's the best one so far. I agree. FGL House did have really good, but obviously that's not Lainey's so far. Does Lainey have food? She does, but I didn't. I only had like an appetizer, so I can't really give a full food review at that one yet.
Starting point is 00:25:44 Yeah, I haven't done that either. But that's all I got. So any more honest reviews of the bars besides your honest opinion that they should have less? No. Do you have a favorite of any of them? Not really. Okay. Do you have a favorite bar on Broadway, period?
Starting point is 00:25:59 No, I mean, now that, I mean, I'm away from it more, I like, like, second fiddle and stuff, those small little, I really enjoy those. If I go full honky tonk and I'm going for, like, a true, like, time, I'm going tootsies, the stage in honky tongue central. Those are my three that I'll, like, honky tonk central is my day drinking spot. Yeah. Tootsey's in the stage are my nighttime spots. If I'm going full honky tonk, like not the artist bars. Okay. Yeah, I see that.
Starting point is 00:26:31 Yeah. But second fiddle is your pick? Well, I like those. I used to like Honkinton Central because I had a girl that worked there, a bartender that gave me free drinks. It was awesome. They did do that a lot. And they had really good live music on just about every floor. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:45 So that was really, I was like, this is the jam. She's probably not there anymore. She's not. Okay. She's not. All right. I ran into her ex-husband. Oh.
Starting point is 00:26:58 Yeah, allegedly. they got married, but he found out she'd been sleeping with one of the bouncers the whole time. So it didn't work out. That is some trauma with the girl that used to give you free drinks. Yeah. Don't you love the tea when you run into something? You're like, that is not when I saw this going. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:16 Dang. Poor guy. Yeah. Well, that was a sad one to end on. Okay. So on a positive note, happy Saturday, college football. Hope you're enjoying the games. Woo!
Starting point is 00:27:27 Okay. We're going to take one more great. Quick break. We'll be right back. What's up, everyone? I'm Ago Wodden. My next guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live, and the Big Money Players Network. It's Will Ferrell. My dad gave me the best advice ever. I went and had lunch with them one day, and I was like, and Dad, I think I want to really give this a shot.
Starting point is 00:27:52 I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place they come. Look for up and coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet. Yeah. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit.
Starting point is 00:28:16 If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat, just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks, Dad, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Starting point is 00:31:43 So I'm Leanne. Yeah. This is my best friend, Janet. Hey. And we have been joined at the hips since high school. Absolutely. Now a redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip. Just a little bit bigger hips, wider.
Starting point is 00:31:54 This is a podcast. We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey. With all the snacks and drink. Sidebar. Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer? Well, they had a bogo. Well, then you got them. Do you want a white collar something here?
Starting point is 00:32:08 Just hit it. Oh, what are y'all doing? Microphones? Are you making a rap album? Oh, I would. Come on. I would buy it. Cuts through the defense like a hot knife through sponge cake.
Starting point is 00:32:20 That sounds delicious. Oh, you're lucky. I'm not a drug addict. You're lucky I'm not an alcoholic. You are. You are. I'm not a killer. I love this team, and I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on.
Starting point is 00:32:33 Oh. Oh. Oh. Listen to soccer moms on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Need to know your thoughts on this situation from a dad perspective lunchbox. Yeah. So I was at a park and I was walking my dog and I see these kids openly playing airsoft. Huh?
Starting point is 00:33:00 You know, like the guns and airsoft? No, I don't. Kind of like paintball, but airsoft it's supposed to be like a different. shooting at the end instead of like a paintball. Air soft. I'm Googling. It's a variation of paintball and like. Airsoft guns.
Starting point is 00:33:18 Okay. The little little pebble balls too. I can't remember what that one's called. Words are hard. Oh man, these guns look real. Yeah. Airsoft guns. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:28 Okay. So there was a group of like five kids and they were openly playing. When I say that, they were playing all over the entire park. Okay. And there are multiple families there. There's softball games happening. There's kids that's a play. playground. There's people walking their animals.
Starting point is 00:33:41 These hurt? Yes, they hurt when you get hit. Really? Yes. Okay, never, I've never seen these. They were not around when I was a kid. They were around when I was a kid. I never played them. I just knew this guy. You're a different generation there, girl. Okay. Well, I just, hey, I'm just giving you full context. But there was a group of parents who were really mad about it and they like went up to him multiple times trying to get them to stop. Would you be mad like at these kids if you saw them openly playing, let's say it's paintball since you're more familiar. familiar with Paineville.
Starting point is 00:34:10 Like openly, they're not, they're in the entire space. Yes. Would you do something about it? Yeah. What would you do? Hey, take it somewhere else. It's that easy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:22 And they did a little bit. They ended up in the trees, but like the trees are still part of the park where everybody's walking around. I mean, it's hard because it depends if they were there first. I don't know who I want. But really, honestly, you can't really do it at a park when there's other people. That's it. I mean, it's just that simple.
Starting point is 00:34:37 But as a kid, I'd have told you. those adults, shut up. And that's exactly what happened. If I was those kids, which, you know, they're probably teenagers, probably 13, 12, 13, they probably told them, shut up, you don't get into my parents. Like, leave me alone. Well, and it was crazy lunch because they were walking around. Thankfully, the, the airsoft guns that they had were colored, so they looked like a play gun.
Starting point is 00:35:03 Yeah, they have an orange tip on them, the ones I just Google. Yeah. But they were in full, like, what would look like. like tactical gear. Oh, really? This hurts. Airsoft hurts. Like I said, I've never had one before.
Starting point is 00:35:16 So it was like watching these kids walk around like a bunch of army people. And then there's all you hear is these like things firing off and you don't know which direction they're going because there's nothing that you're watching. So I watched an argument in zoo between teenagers and parents and it was a whole thing. That's pretty funny. It was an interesting interaction at the park. Yeah. And teenagers, you know, they can't. They don't do any wrong and I'm, shut up.
Starting point is 00:35:42 Like, we're just having fun. Leave me alone. Like, you want to even listen to your parents? You think you're going to listen to some stranger tell you you can't do something? Yeah, right. Well, I am also curious where their parents were. If they were around somewhere or if they were like. They're old enough to ride their bikes wherever they want.
Starting point is 00:35:57 They don't need their parents around. I didn't see any bikes. They could have walked. They could have walked. It's a neighborhood. But, yeah, still. I mean, you don't think a 14-year-old can go to the park by themselves? No, they can for sure.
Starting point is 00:36:08 It is crazy I mean full tactical gear lunchbox Like I'm ready for my kids To ride their bikes to school by themselves Are you at this point I mean another year Get at it The oldest
Starting point is 00:36:20 Yeah But not the other two No the other one once he's a year older he can Because he'll be riding with his brother And how old are they at that age He'll be Seven and five How far is the bus stop from your house
Starting point is 00:36:34 No no ride their bite to school How far is school from your house Ah, like a mile and a half. Dang. I seven? I did it. Yeah. Tis what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:36:45 You guys are cissies. I don't know. I don't know the right answer. I know, but you're talking about these kids. Where were their parents at the park? I'm like, if they're old enough to have an aerosoph gun, guess what? If you see your kid leaving the house in political gear, aren't you going to be like, what are you doing? They're probably like, we're going to have an airsoft battle because their parents probably bought them the guns.
Starting point is 00:37:05 They are, but like, I'm pretty sure there's. like Aresoft parks and stuff that you're supposed to go to. There is no such thing is an Aresoft Park. I'm pretty sure there are. There is not an Aerosoft. I am guaranteeing you there's not a designated Airsoft Park. Yes, there are. No.
Starting point is 00:37:21 Yeah, there are. Extreme paintball and Aresoft. Carf con one, Aresoft Field and Pro Shop. No, no. Misfits Airsoft. Hold on, that is somewhere where you can go and it's like a business. I mean, yeah, but that's what you're supposed to, because I don't know. And rent the guns that you don't bring your own, maybe you bring your own pain
Starting point is 00:37:37 Ball guns to paintball. I don't know. Airsoft in public parks. I don't think you're, I wonder if it's legal. Yeah, this is generally you're not allowed to play airsoft in public parks as it's considered inappropriate to openly play with airsoft guns in public areas due to the potential for alarming others. Yeah, I don't know. That's tough.
Starting point is 00:38:00 So I don't know that it was 100% illegal. Because if you've, have you heard a paintball before? Yeah, oh yeah, I've heard a painball for sure. Airsoft kind of sounds the same way, but you have no like way to see where it's going because it's air that it's pushing out, right? Yeah. Like it's the force of air. Yeah. Whereas paintball, like you know where it's hitting.
Starting point is 00:38:23 But yeah. That was what happened to me the other day. It was a wild experience. That's very interesting. And Remy kept looking at me like, what is that noise? I'm like, girl, just keep walking. So it's loud? It's not quiet.
Starting point is 00:38:34 Okay. Like I said, it's like a... Oh, it's like that. Kind of. That's all I got. It's a little bit louder than that. Do it again. Now I can't do it again.
Starting point is 00:38:48 Interesting. Yours kind of ended up sounding like Donald Duck. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Wiggin, we wobbit. I think that's probably also what their gunshots sounded like on Donald Duck. Okay.
Starting point is 00:39:04 Also, I wanted to talk about the most underrated chain restaurant. of all time. What is your most underrated? And you're going to love mine. Oh, Texas Roadhouse. No, no, because everybody loves that place. Okay, well, you said underwriting. Mine's Jason's, Jason's Deli.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Well, hello. I don't know if it's, but see, here's the thing. I don't think if it's, it may be only a regional thing. I don't know if it's a national. I think it's in a lot of places. I mean, it's Tennessee and Kansas. That's multiple regions already, right? No, because, I mean, it's in Texas.
Starting point is 00:39:38 I mean, I used to work. I used to work there. I know. That's why I said you're going to love this. Oh. You guys like, I have some loyalty to it. Like I'm like,
Starting point is 00:39:46 ah. No, I just mean like you're going to love. I just don't think it ever gets the credit that it deserves. No. Because it's so good. It's really good. I mean,
Starting point is 00:39:56 it has everything. The baked potatoes. Oh my gosh. They're so massive. So freaking good. It's in 27 states. That's definitely chain restaurant. No, no.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Yeah. I just didn't know like if the West Coast got it. it if they know what Jason's deli is. There's one in Arizona and Colorado. Okay. So that's starting to go west. I don't know that like California. Right. I didn't know if a lot of people, like, when we talk about it, I'm always like, I never realize I'm like, do people know what Jason's deli is? But I guess they can get the gist of it by Jason's deli. Yeah, it's a deli. Yeah. I think as far west as it goes is like Arizona. Like what do you eat? You eat the. Their salad bar. Salad bar. A lot of people came in for the salad bar. Love the salad bar. People loved it. It's so good.
Starting point is 00:40:38 And when I say it's underrated because you just don't, a lot of people don't just naturally be like, oh, Jason's deli, we should definitely go there for lunch. I will. I'll be like, oh, no, let's go get some salad bar. But most people aren't like openly choosing that. You know what I mean to go eat? They'll be like, I'm going to stop at a Taco Bell or McDonald's. I don't think he gets the credit it deserves.
Starting point is 00:40:59 I agree with you. It's underrated. See? It's really good. It has options for everybody. Yeah, lots of great sandwiches. I've had the sandwiches before. No, you can't you?
Starting point is 00:41:07 you're a vegetarian. Yeah, but I've had some of them. They make grilled cheese. They make veggie ones. And they're really good. Oh, maybe they do make veggie ones. I don't remember. They do.
Starting point is 00:41:16 And they have good soups. Oh, their soups are really good. Soups are really good. Thank you for calling Jason's deli in the colonnade. We cater and deliver. How can I help you today? Boom. So that's my underrated.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Do you have one while we were talking about? Underrated. I think they're all dying. I'll tell you that. You think fast, like chain restaurants, dying. Yeah. Like we went to, what did we go to the other day? You can't remember a name. That's not good for anybody. No, I don't remember what it was called. It was in the
Starting point is 00:41:50 parking lot with a target. Parking lot of a target. Yeah. Which target you can, then I can look it up for you. It may have been Longhorn Steakhouse. Okay. There wasn't anybody in there. Yeah. Some of them definitely do better than others. That's what I'm saying. I was like, man, these things are dying. Like, it is dying. Yeah, it is.
Starting point is 00:42:14 If there's one thing that keeps popping up in my news of things that are going bankrupt, a lot of it's the chain restaurants for sure. Yeah. I was like, dang. Because people tend to opt for more local options. And if you are living in a city. Do they or I don't really know. I don't know what has happened.
Starting point is 00:42:33 It's very interesting. Well, one, the cost of everything has gone up, right? so less people are probably eating out in that capacity. That could be it. But two, if you live in bigger cities, I think you see it happen in bigger cities. Because more rural suburban areas, no, those are still like great options. But you go to a city like Nashville and most people are going to choose. They're like, tell me the local spots to eat.
Starting point is 00:42:54 They're not going to travel to Nashville and be like, I'm going to go to Chili's. Some people are. Some people do that. We used to as kids. We used to dinnies. But there also wasn't any like local options. Now there's more restaurants. Probably was, but my dad's rule was, we're eating at Denny's because there's something for everyone.
Starting point is 00:43:11 There's no complaining of like, I don't like this food. Well, there's something on that menu you like. So we ate at Denny's every time on the road trip. Yeah. He's not wrong. No, he's not wrong. I'll always eat Taco Bell on my road trips. Okay.
Starting point is 00:43:25 That's because you're used to it. Yeah, we eat Chick-fil-A on the road trips. Yeah. Because I know the kids like it. It's easy. They're everywhere. I mean, that's when you're on the road. But when you guys travel, do you try and eat at a new restaurant or do you try and eat at somewhere that you know that kids are going to like?
Starting point is 00:43:45 Oh, well, it depends. Like if we're just like driving and then like it's just a pit stop or if it's in the city we're staying in. Yeah. City we're staying in, we'll try different restaurants. But if we're just like we're on the road trip trying to get to somewhere, oh, it's Chick-fil-A. So see, there's the balance that's happening. but not as many sit-down places. Yeah, and I mean, like I've always said, those chick-flake fries, overrated.
Starting point is 00:44:13 Overrated. I agree with you. I don't understand why people love them so much. They're cardboard. Yeah, those waffle fries. There's so many better fries out there. They're not good. Like, you get them hot out of the oven.
Starting point is 00:44:24 You can eat like two of them and then it's like, ah, okay. Give me the fruit instead of the fries, thanks. You know, I do think a thing, too, with like some of these changes that some of them don't ever evolve. they don't adjust with like things that are happening. Yeah. And I think that's where some of them go away. Because like you see others that are doing really well. And it's because you're constantly seeing like they've added new things to their menu or they're trying something different or they have a new happy hour special or you know what I mean where they're doing these new things.
Starting point is 00:44:50 Right. It's often the ones that go bankrupt that you never saw. Yeah. They're just dinosaurs. They get stuck in their ways. Yeah. So I think that's how I mean, you know, evolution. I'll tell you one that's underrated, wing stop.
Starting point is 00:45:04 Okay. I love some wings. Do they just sell wings there? Or is there other stuff there? It's great. I only know the wings. You only get the wings? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:12 Not a whole like spread. No. So yeah, wing stops are really good. You know what I've been eating more of lately too? Dapapa John's? Oh. What were you going to say? Dirt.
Starting point is 00:45:23 Dirt. Well, you're a vegetarian, so I didn't have any options. That's rude. No, because I've been craving the garlic sauce. So I just give pop johns. Oh, I don't eat the garlic sauce. No. you don't like it
Starting point is 00:45:35 never had it do you like garlic sauce like garlic stuff normally I like garlic yeah oh my it's a bad oh my gosh like if I could just get that
Starting point is 00:45:45 like as a jug and have that as a what as a jug oh a jug like you know I thought you said it's a junk and I was like what is a junk
Starting point is 00:45:53 no it's like a condiment that you can just like stick in your fridge and add whenever you want yeah I would pump that into my blood vessels I love that garlic sauce Okay. Does Wingsop have like a sauce that you like that goes to the wings or is it just the wings?
Starting point is 00:46:07 No, I don't dip mine in sauce. You don't dip your wings in anything? No. Because you don't like ranch. I dip them in my mouth. You don't like ranch and I assume you don't like blue cheese. I don't know if I've ever had it. You don't know if you've had like blue cheese sauce?
Starting point is 00:46:20 Right. Have you eaten at Buffalo Wild Wings? Yeah. They have blue cheese. I don't dip. I just said that. I know. Like I don't understand like taking-
Starting point is 00:46:29 You like trying new things with food. Like a lemon grass. wing and then dipping it in someone. So doesn't it just lose the lemon grass? Like wouldn't it just taste like the ranch? No, you get multiple flavors. That's like a French fry. I dip it in multiple sauces.
Starting point is 00:46:44 Like, you'll see me and I'll have honey mustard, ranch, ketchup, and more if there's other options. And then I get a whole wide variety of tastes happen in there. Instead of just one. Dang. Yeah, I'm just, I never understood that. Like if it's flavored in like... Do you dip anything?
Starting point is 00:47:01 I dip like nuggets in barbecue sauce. Okay. But they're not like a, they're not a flavored nugget. Like a wing has a different sauce. So that's the sauce you need is that. I see your point. Like my wing is buffalo. I don't want to put it in something else to take away the buffalo.
Starting point is 00:47:23 The reason I ordered buffalo is because now if you get plain and you want to dip, totally okay. Got it. Just a regular old nugget. Yeah. Do you like boneless or bone in? Oh, bone in. Because boneless is just a chicken nugget. Well, you just said you like chicken nuggets, though.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Yeah, but it's not a real wing. So if you're going wings, you're getting like traditional. Yeah. Got it. Okay. Those are all my questions. Okay. I just need to know your wing, your wing happens.
Starting point is 00:47:49 Yeah, that's my wing. Let it fly. Spread your wings and fly away. That's sad. Wait, wait. Wait, wait. I believe. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:47:57 What is the song? I believe. No, we don't see that. We don't see that song. Is that what you're trying? No, no. Is that our Kelly? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:05 Oh, bad. Bad lunchbox, bad. No, you sing it. You brought it up. I didn't even have it in my head. And with a broken wing. Oh, that's a sad song. Yeah, Martina McBride.
Starting point is 00:48:14 That's it. And with a broken wing. No, you went real sad. That, what? I went real sad. Yeah, I was talking about wings. No, you went. I believe I can fly.
