This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Hey, I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans,
a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans.
I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change.
We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes.
You can have opinions.
You can have like a strong step.
dance.
And then there's your body having its own program.
Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever
you get your podcasts.
It's Financial Literacy Month, and the podcast, Eating While Broke, is bringing real conversations
about money, growth, and building your future.
This month, hear from top streamer, Zoe Spencer, and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landrum
Pierre, as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up.
There's an economic component to community striving.
If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they failed.
Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
On a recent episode of the podcast Money and Wealth with John Hobriant, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money.
What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on
wealth to the people when they're no longer here.
We break down budgeting, financial discipline,
and how to build real wealth,
starting with the mindset shifts.
Too many of us were never, ever taught.
If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money,
this conversation is for you to hear more.

The Best Bits of the Week.
with Morgan.
Part one.
Behind the scenes with a member of the show.
What's up, everybody?
Happy weekend.
I'm here with Scooba Steve on the best bits.
How are you, Scooba?
The claw chose me.
The claw did choose you.
It was not random.
Well, it's almost like, you know, like in Toy Story the first one,
we're like, it's the claw.
The claw chooses who will stay and who will go.
And I've been chosen.
Morgan picked me this weekend.
I'll see you next later.
It was a really good life.
drawn out.
Call on.
Hopefully don't take me to Sid's house.
We'll be all right.
No, I'll take you to Sid.
Poor Sid, man.
I know.
You do give me Sid energy, though.
Really?
Okay.
What's funny, I have Toy Story shoes
and the shoes that I chose
so they do collaborations
a lot.
Vans does, and I have Vans
Toy Story shoes.
And I didn't want the woody ones
or the Buzz Light Year.
I got the messed up toys
Sid version.
So that tracks.
That's track.
Yeah, I was mischievous as a child.
Not in a way of like
you're like the mean kid
that's doing thing.
It's just your look.
It gives me sit energy.
Okay, I can see that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's more what it is.
I have a shaved head.
I'm a little more of like a rocker dude versus like, I don't know.
Yeah, just throw some braces on you and you'd be total kid Sidney.
I used to have braces, but obviously not anymore.
Thank God.
Okay, I want to talk about a life lately.
We did CMA Fest, thoughts, experiences.
Was this your first?
My first CMA Fest.
Yeah, because I didn't do it the last few years.
First couple years, it was COVID, so they didn't have it.
And when they brought it back, I was supposed to do it.
And then the guy who was kind of like our coordinator of it all, Rick, he was like,
oh, I have someone else that's going to help.
You can just stay with your family and chill at the house.
And I was like, thank God.
I was like, I didn't want to go.
But this year, my kids are in San Francisco, so I don't have anything to do but this stuff.
So I was like, I definitely want to go this year.
And so I made it a point to go.
And it was pretty cool because I'd never seen.
I didn't get to see all of CMA Fest.
I only did the one night we all did for see it for the Nissan Stadium, the television special.
Yeah, and that's much more condensed.
Whereas if you go downtown and experience all the different stages and the free stuff, you're like, holy crap, what is this world?
Yeah, see, I almost want to avoid that because for me, that'd be sensory overload and it'd be too much music all at once.
It's going to hurt my ears and get all these people around.
The stages are right next to each other.
They're all spread out.
So they're not bouncing off each other.
Like Broadway, I hate Broadway because it's just a cluster F of sound and none of it's good.
It's still a cluster F.
Yeah, yeah.
But at least they're spread out.
There's only two stages on Broadway and one's totally at the lower end.
and ones at the top.
So it's separated.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah.
They are.
Okay.
But it is.
There's so many people walking around.
They stop the streets.
And there were artists this year, Shibuzi and Tucker Wetmore.
They both like shut down their stages.
They both played on different Broadway stages and like shut down the entire street because they had so
many people show up.
That's awesome.
That's really cool.
Yeah.
Okay.
So those were super cool.
It was just cool to experience all of that.
But I wanted to see from your perspective, not a huge country music guy, but you're experiencing
the biggest country music festival for the first time.
It was cool.
And then that first night was awesome because we're there.
And we see all this.
It's just a lot.
And it's pretty cool.
And we've done shows like that at stadiums and arenas and stuff.
Actually, never stadiums.
I've always, our I hear festivals are always at an arena.
Yeah.
So this is my first, like, stadiums.
I've been to stadium shows, but not part of the process of it.
The behind the scenes, the backstage.
It was kind of cool.
It was really cool.
Because then you're like in the Titans locker room hanging out.
And then you go back outside with you guys and you go up on stage.
And then as we're leaving, you're looking over to your left.
You're like, oh my gosh.
There's post.
Post Malone, there's freaking Blake Shelton.
So Gwen's guy.
Oh, there's Gwen Stefani.
Oh, my God, Gwen Stefani's here.
And then you're like, wait a second, Post Malone is Stephanie.
And then I'm like, who's that one guy?
Because some guy was like, some guy walked around with like a hat and glasses and chain.
I'm like, that could be anybody.
He's like, he's like tall and white.
I'm like, again, it could be anybody.
He's like, ah, he looks like, what does he have eyes and skin and a nose and ears?
Great description, buddy.
Yeah, totally dude.
And then he points.
He goes, oh, he's right there now.
I go, oh, my God, it's MGK.
But she can gun Kelly.
Which I'm still a little confused.
Very confused.
Why Machine Gun Kelly.
He also performed at one of the house stages.
I saw that,
but not at where he was at that night for Nissan Stadium.
So was he just there as support,
like hanging out with Post or something?
Because he's never had any connections to country music.
Zero.
Like I get it when they come in and they have these connections or they've done things.
He has zero.
Yeah.
I wonder where he's from.
Can you look at it because of your laptop out?
Yeah, I got you.
Where is he from?
Because I almost wanted, like, like a Post alone where they come from like a,
a southern roots background.
He's from Houston, Texas.
Oh, there you go.
Then he likes country.
He's probably into it.
He was influenced by it in some way.
Yeah.
And maybe he's going to be doing something on Post-Millan's new country album.
Exactly.
That could definitely be it.
And he could, like, be planting the seeds because they're all pretty smart about that.
And plus exposing him to the country audience who may not be familiar with him.
Now they can slowly go, oh, I remember at a country fest I was there.
And that, MGK guy was performing because he did play on guitar and he was singing.
So I'm sure, because everyone's jumping on that.
I mean, he did a chick's cover.
So he did, like, you know, playing to the country music side.
And he sounded really good.
Yeah, he's planting seeds.
Once that post album comes out, it'll be like featuring MGK, you're going to go, yep.
Yep, there was.
And we just knew it ahead of time.
Yeah.
They're smart.
They're not stupid.
Then I'm just going to roll something out in one day.
And then you just, you get, because I feel like this audience doesn't know him as well as
like for me because I'm more into pop and hip hop.
I love him.
Like I love his, not him.
I don't know much about him as a person.
But his music, though.
His music is really good.
And then he was for a while there with Megan Fox.
I was like, for a second, I was like, oh my gosh, Megan Fox here.
I remember you saying that?
You're like, Megan Fox has to be.
She's back there and I was like, Scova.
You don't think they're together anymore.
I know.
I forgot about that.
I know.
But I was like, man, Megan Fox would be so cool.
Forget all these dudes.
I want to say hi to Megan Fox.
Yeah.
Uh-huh.
You know, you want to know who I saw.
That wasn't country music related, but major A-lister.
Was it that night or a different day?
Different day.
Okay.
Major.
Was it an actor or is it a...
It's a musician.
Musician, but not of the country space.
Not of the country's base.
And related to something that was happening, but not related to CMA Fest.
Related something that's happening at CMA Fest.
I know.
I'm like kind of playing a little bit of questions with you, but we won't draw it out for very long.
Yeah, please don't.
Yeah.
Anything more than three minutes I get over those games.
Major insanely like star power.
Will Smith?
Nope.
Not an out.
He's a musician.
Oh, yeah.
Will Smith's a musician.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, he had music.
He comes the man and.
I would just, he's more known for.
Yeah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.
I'm going to Miami.
Bam Ben, Benito, Tommy, yami.
And then the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and he was a rapper.
You're right.
He's very much sound for music.
You're right.
I just know him as an actor.
I know.
Yeah, I know.
That's fair.
This guy known as a musician.
Only a musician.
Kiefer Sutherland.
No.
Okay.
Are you ready for you guys?
Are you ready for me to tell you?
Can you give me the initials?
J.B.J.
J.B.J.
John Bon Jovi.
Yeah.
That should have given him always so hard.
I was like, really?
Because he's in town because the whole.
He's opening up that bar, right?
Yeah, it's open.
And so I was at Wild Turkey.
Their footprint doing filming.
And all of a sudden there was this just insane.
Like I was in Hollywood.
There was all these people flooding the street.
I was like, what is going on?
And I look over popping out of this really boogie car.
JBJ.
What?
Did he say that we walked out of the car or no?
No, he didn't.
But he did perform at his bar.
So that's why he was there.
I didn't see that.
I just saw him out on the streets of Nashville just popping out of it.
That'd be sick to see performing at a place like that.
because he's so used to doing arenas and stadiums.
Yeah.
That's pretty cool.
Yeah, but I saw John von Jovi.
That's pretty sick.
He just looks like a normal old dude.
Like, really.
And he's a legend worth close to a billion dollars.
Oh, yeah, total legend.
But just pop it.
I mean, if I hadn't seen him pop out of that boozy car and experience that whole, like, Hollywood.
Yeah.
Oh, my goodness.
I was so loud.
I just knocked my water ball.
Morgan in her Italian hands.
She knocked over a big ass cup.
They're so excited.
It's got hair on it now.
That's over there where Eddie got his hair cut.
Oh my gosh, I have Eddie's hair.
You have Eddie fake hair on your cup.
That was disgusting.
It's actually not even Eddie's hair.
It's some like dead person's hair.
Okay, they're not dead.
Or some person who donated their hair.
I'm kind of got a moment around.
I can just see hairs on it.
Oh, my God.
Yeah, okay.
Don't look you at it.
Don't look it at.
Oh, you know that he's fake hair on your cup.
Okay.
Oh my God.
I got to stop thinking about it.
You're going to throw that cup away and get a new one.
No, no, I just.
Should we go buy you a new one?
Oh, my God.
It's all them's strong.
You need to rinse this on the straw.
Oh my God, there's shit all over the straw.
Stop, I can't drink for like seven more hours now.
It looks like you have on the end of your straw.
I'm literally going to say.
What is that car where you put paper in your mouth and you put a wad in your mouth and you spit it through a straw and you go.
Remember those?
Oh, yeah, yeah.
There's a name for it.
Oh, my gosh.
I can't even look in the direction.
It looks like you have a paper wad on the end of your straw and then you've got Eddie's old people pub hair on your cup.
going to vomit.
Oh my God, so gross.
Okay, now I can't even remember
what anything's called him what I was doing.
Oh my God, and this, can I go somewhere else?
Yeah, okay.
Yeah.
Every time I'm like, I don't like hair.
I hate hair.
Like, I have hair.
I can't eat my own hair and I'll still like,
I'll throw it away and I won't eat anymore.
If a hair is ever on things or touches them,
I've checked out.
I can't even, scuba, when I wash my hands,
like I'm cooking, I always have to use paper towels
because if I use a towel, then I get like teeny tiny hairs from the towel on, and that grosses me out when I'm cooking food.
Oh, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
I'm just human hair.
No, I'm like, I'm not okay.
Gross.
Oh, my God.
Like if you go to a restaurant, I see a hair.
I'm like, oh, I'm so sorry.
I'm done.
I can never go there again.
It's my favorite place in the whole world.
A hair will ruin it for me.
Nothing worse than when you're having your favorite meal.
and you're taking a big bite
and then you look down and there's a hair.
Or you start to eat it and you're like, is that spaghetti?
You're like, no, it's a freaking hair.
Because once you swallow it,
then they get stuck on your throat, that little dangling thing
and it like hangs there.
And you have that feeling for a whole freaking day
and you can't escape it.
We have to stop talking about.
I'm straight up going to vomit just thinking about it.
Ugh.
Disgusting.
Can you put that in the garbage somewhere else
so we don't have to look at it?
It's right in my direct vision.
You don't get to see because you turn around,
but I have to see it.
Thank you.
Good Lord.
Can we move on because I have.
Literally, I'm going to vomit.
Yeah, I'm ready to move on.
What the heck else you got?
Jeez.
We're going to take a little break.
But yeah, I saw John.
I'm literally going to vomit.
Oh, my God.
I saw John Bondovie, and that was really cool.
Yeah, I don't care about that anymore.
You have hair in your cup.
Okay.
We'll be right.
You can have opinions.
You can have like a strong stance.
And then there's your body having its own program.

Oh, they came in here and vacuum, but apparently the
one hair that was left is now on your cub.
No, there's like 10 hairs
and they're on my straw. Oh, my God.
I'm telling you. It's like this
disgusty thing I have with the hair.
What are you going to do today?
I don't know. You drink a lot of water
I always look over you and you're like,
You can't
I'm not gonna vomit in this
Stratt
Oh my God
Okay
All right anyways
Disgusting
Okay
I've had some really cool
Interesting Uber situations
Recently
You know normally I have bad ones
No I just see all the hair on the desk
I'm looking at
There's a hair there
There's a hair there
I am going to
projectile vomit on here
Go somewhere else and do this
Stop
Okay
I've had some interesting
Uber situations lately
Has this ever happened to you?
So these were both in Palm Springs.
Okay.
First one, I got into the Uber.
He couldn't speak any English.
So what he did was have a, he had a microphone in karaoke in his Uber.
And that was how he communicated with people.
Was through music.
Yeah.
That's really, really cool.
That's really cool.
I've always wanted to be in those karaoke cars.
I've seen you be in one.
I've seen Abby going one.
I've seen like people online and stuff.
I've never had the luck of a karaoke car.
And it happened to be, I was with a bunch of girls.
And we had to keep ordering.
two separate ubers.
And so I was with a bunch of people in mine.
And this was the one time that I sat in the front seat.
Okay.
And it just happened to be this karaoke or Uber.
And I was like, well, I guess I'm here.
So I'm like, man.
Shania Twain.
I feel like.
I did.
I was straight.
Shaniah Twain.
And I did.
There was another one I did in there.
But I went Shania Twain because that was like my natural.
I think it started with Backstreet Boys.
Oh, nice.
Okay.
There was bye, bye, bye.
Yeah.
That gets everyone singing.
Yeah.
That's what started.
But we were going to a karaoke bar.
Does your mic?
Does your mic like project through the speakers and stuff?
No, so you have like this little speaker thing that was attached to his roof of his car.
Gotcha.
And that was projecting the sound of the microphone.
Gotcha.
Okay.
And then he just was playing like songs over it.
So you weren't doing like karaoke instrumental.
It was just the song in the background.
Still really cool though.
Oh yeah.
It's still fun because then you're getting the actual real song, which is actually better.
Oh, and I even looked at him.
I was like, this is pretty bad, right?
And he just like was giggling and smiling.
He knew, yeah.
He knew, but he couldn't speak.
He didn't know what I was saying.
But he could tell by your facial reaction.
and how you guys are having a great time.
He's like, God, I'm music.
Everyone loves it.
And I gave him a big tip when I left because that was a great fun experience.
Yeah.
And even loss in translation of language, everyone still knows if you say Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson is Michael Jackson no matter where you're at.
Baxter Boys.
People will go, oh, Baxter Boys.
Yeah, of course.
I don't think he knew Shania Twain, though.
Probably not.
But he was having a great time.
Yeah, anything popped across everywhere, but country hasn't really gone that far yet.
That's true.
Yeah.
That's awesome.
to a dinner and then a karaoke room after.
So then I sang two karaoke songs with my sister at the bar also.
Heck yeah.
So you guys had practice in the car.
And then you got to the game and you did more.
Literally.
That's awesome.
So that was one Uber.
And then another Uber was I was picking up bagels for everybody.
Yeah.
And I was sitting there and I called my Uber to get me back to the Airbnb.
And the Uber was like, oh, I have arrived immediately.
Like I hit it.
And I've arrived.
And I was like, sitting around looking like, did I do it?
something wrong.
Yeah, yeah.
I was just like, we're already here.
He comes walking out of the same place that I was just in, getting coffee.
He goes, good morning.
Let's go.
And I was like, this feels very strange.
You're like, that's funny.
I was right behind you the whole time.
Literally.
Oh, okay, cool.
So this, this goes to show that you should be nice to everybody because you never know
what situation you're going to find yourself in.
Yeah.
I'm just nice to everyone because you just, because you just should, Morgan.
Oh, I am.
But I'm giving people the reminder.
I'm just playing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Because I, that was just a, I.
I didn't know what to do with myself because I called him.
Because I was like, it says you're here, but I don't know and I don't see you.
Because I saw the car, but nobody was in it.
And it's parked.
I think I see your car park, but now I'm confused.
And he literally goes, yeah, I'm right behind you.
And I was, like, I'm turning around and I was like, I'm holding this huge bag of bagels.
And he's with his coffee.
And it was like, we had just went into the coffee shop together, but he was my Uber driver.
After your driver.
Yeah, exactly.
He's so bizarre.
Now he's your husband.
Except he was a very sweet.
nice man, older,
that's for the other team.
So was not my husband.
Gotcha.
Okay.
He's just your best friend now.
Yes.
And we had a great five-minute Uber ride.
That's awesome.
Yeah, yeah.
But yeah,
that was my too crazy.
Yeah,
two crazy Uber experiences and not weird.
Amazing,
crazy Uber experiences in Palm Springs.
Yeah, definitely not weird
because those are really cool.
That's really awesome.
Especially the karaoke one.
That's like a bucket list thing.
Like get in a Uber that has the karaoke.
I feel like I can never seem to land that.
You may have to go and,
more ubers to finally land one.
Yeah, I don't do it as much, yeah.
I only do it when we're like going to a work event or something like that.
Or if my wife and I were going out for a date night, we're going to get drunk, then we'll
take an Uber.
That's fair.
Yeah.
So you might just need, we might need to up your ante of how many you go.
Yeah.
And plus the other problem too is we take the Uber Black or the Uber Elite.
Oh, yeah.
You're never going to find those in the.
Yeah.
Those drivers are always like, hey, how's it going?
You guys are okay?
You need some water?
Yep.
All right.
And they just, they're just silent the entire time.
You're going to have to drop to the really, uh, poor.
side of us where we do the X. Uber,
Uber. Point five.
That's what I do.
It's like $3 to get everywhere.
Listen, that's what I do.
Uber X all the way, baby.
I just have a problem.
I used to do it all the time, trust me.
And then I started having kids and then I got married and then I married first, then
kids. And I was like, you know what?
I'm getting all these cars, always strange people.
And which is always in total as a kid, never do that.
But I know there's a service.
And of course, it's not that.
But I'm like, I feel like I need to spend another extra $50 just to make sure I go
with a professional driver and a newer car and a nicer car.
Yeah.
Just to make sure I get home safely.
Because if that doesn't make it home, it's a big problem.
That is true.
You're not wrong.
Not saying that those good drivers still can't have a problem because you can't account for
all the unknown variables of other cars.
But I just always feel like if I'm in a big black SUV with a guy wearing a suit,
I just feel a little bit more comfortable than some guy who comes behind you from a bagel shop.
And it was like, you ready to go?
Let's do this.
Okay.
In all fairness, the reason I have such fun, wild on both spectrums,
Uber stories, because I'm always taking Uber-E.
I know, yeah, I know.
I used to see a lot of crazy things.
I can't even recall them because I try to block it out.
But you'd see a lot of weird things in the Uber-X, good and bad.
A lot of bad.
But there's also a lot of good ones, too.
They're great stories.
Yeah.
You are right.
I mean, I should, especially when I'm traveling by myself beginning.
Especially by yourself.
Because I'm always like, because I'm thinking about like, crap, it's like an extra $40.
I'm like, but yeah, but I feel like I'm worth more than $40 like my life.
So I'm always like, it's going to hit me.
I'm going to put on my credit card for sure.
I'm not paying for this in my debit card because that's cash in my wall.
and I don't get that back.
But I put my credit card and I'll figure it out in a week or a month.
That's boy math.
Yeah.
Boy math is.
Because you're definitely still paying for it.
Yeah, figure it out later, not right now.
Yeah, so that's what I do.
Just because I'm like, and I always tell my wife when she's by herself.
Like if you're going to a work event or a work trip, especially if it's on works time,
I'm like, you 100% pay for the $100 Uber because you're by yourself.
And I just want to make sure that everything is okay than getting in some.
Yeah, I've been doing all the Uber experts.
I know.
And maybe you should just think about it because, you know, you matter to somebody.
You're right.
Not you.
Not you.
Cool, scuba.
Thanks.
Well, I know you matter even more to somebody else.
Great cover there.
Really good cover.
So, anyways, moving on.
I had another question.
Now I lost it because you just insulted me.
No, it wasn't insulted.
It was just like, you know, like your parents.
Like clearly your parents made you.
They have to care more about you than I do.
I care about you, but you know what I mean.
I know.
I forgot what I was going to say, though.
Okay, we're going to take a quick break, and we'll be right back.
You can have opinions.
You can have, like, a strong stance.
And then there's your body having its own program.

On a recent episode of the podcast, Money and Wealth with John Ho'Brien, I sit down with Tiffany
the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money.
What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth to the people
when they're no longer here?
We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build real wealth, starting with
the mindset shifts.
Too many of us were never, ever taught.
Financial education is not always about, like, I'm going to get rich.
That's great.
It's about creating an atmosphere for you to be able to take care of yourself
and leave a strong financial legacy for your family.
If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money,
this conversation is for you to hear more.

I'm going to do a segment here called
Let me turn you on to something.
Okay, let you do.
What would it be?
What you got?
Two things.
I feel like the music should be like,
do do do do do do do.
Oh, okay, okay, let me intro it.
Oh, you're going to go under the bed.
It's the music bad.
Okay. Sweet potato tortilla chips.
No, your intro.
Let me.
Oh, I thought that was an under.
No, this is like you have to go over and be like,
let me tell you.
I already forgot what you said because I'm so.
Yeah, okay.
Let me turn you on to something.
Yeah.
Okay.
Sweet potato.
Stupid.
We are.
We're a little delusional.
Yeah, very delusional.
Sweet potato tortilla chips.
No, that I've never had.
I've had lots of combinations of sweet potato, but never a tortilla chip.
Scuba.
With salt and everything?
I mean, you can eat it however you want.
But I found them because I'm doing the new adult thing, you know, going to a new grocery
store, publics.
Yeah, publics.
And you have more options.
So many options.
So many options.
Not just focused on whatever Trader Joe's makes.
You're exposed to all.
Okay, but I still love Trader Joe.
Don't you diss my Trader Joe?
Yeah, it's fine.
It's great.
The parking lot suck, but it's still great.
Okay.
Well, I found at Public Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips.
Okay.
They are so tasty.
They're better than regular tortilla chips.
And they fill you up quicker so you don't eat $5,000 of them.
I know because I love tortilla chips.
And they fulfill the craving of a tortilla chips and a sweet craving and a salty.
It's just a perfect combination of so many things.
And it still tastes okay with salsa?
It doesn't take funky or weird.
No.
It still tastes like a normal tortilla chip.
It just has like that extra mth.
Okay.
I'm into it because I would,
if you're looking at French fries,
I love French fries,
but if I have the option
to have sweet potato French fries,
I would prefer that over regular French fries.
And don't sweet potato french fries
always fill you up because they're sweet potato.
I can ever finish them because I get to like maybe halfway through it.
I'm like, oh my God.
And that lasts like one or two
and there's still a bunch left.
I'm like, who wants them?
Because I can't finish this.
And you have to have a proper dip.
You can't dip sweet potato french fries and regular ketchup.
A ranch.
I haven't done ranch.
You've never done sweet potato fries and ranch?
Usually the restaurants I've been to where they make their own kind of like,
it's not syrup, but it's like a sweet something based.
I know what you're talking about.
But it's like more on the sweet side.
And when you dip in there, it even looks almost like molasses or like a syrup or something.
Like a honey.
Like a honeyish syrup or whatever.
Man, is it effing delicious.
Oh my God.
And they're so crunchy and crispy and oof.
You are right.
And a lot of them do that.
Yeah.
But I'm going to tell you, I'll also continue to turn you on to something, sweet potato fries with rich.
A ranch, okay.
All right.
I'm going to turn you on to some things.
Do you like to do multiple dips?
Because if I have a dipping dish, and I know that they have, like if I get regular fries,
I want ranch, ketchup, and honey mustard all together.
And I would like to just have one of each and I alternate throughout the process.
I like the pink sauce that I make, which is like the mustard.
I'm sorry, mayonnaise and ketchup.
You ever done that?
We just mix it together.
I haven't.
Oh, really?
You haven't?
Is that kind of like Chick-fil-A sauce, or is that different?
It's kind of like ketchup and mayonnaise and chick-fil-a-sau copied it.
Oh, okay.
But they kind of like, it's very similar.
It's similar, like, flavor-ish.
I think they add a more seasoning to it to kind of put their spin on it.
But it is very similar where it's like a mayonnaise-based and the ketchup.
It's really good.
Okay.
It's good.
I like that, but I like multiple sauces.
Just like multiple drinks.
What are your sauces when you have a dipping situation?
Well, ketchup because my kids love ketchup.
So we have that ketchup around.
They like ranch.
They have ranch.
I like also like a spite like sweet and spicy kind of combinations like um the hot and
like the sweet and sweet sour sauce sweet and sweet sour sauce is good but like sweet and spicy uh saracha
they have a chick filet like that one and then I also love sweet chili sauce is my sweet chili sauce is my
absolute favorite and whenever you find it here in Nashville they only have a bottle the size of my thumb
or that was my pinky I held up and I said thumb I was a different fingers the size of my thumb even smaller
And it's like I used to be able to get back in the bay
I would get a bottle the size of my truck
It was like this massive huge bottle of sweet chili
That would last me for a whole year
And now I got about 16 bottles
And it costs more money here because it's they don't
And whatever
You find it on Amazon or Costco
You can but then I'm like I feel weird getting sauce
Shipped to me I don't know what I feels weird to me
Who cares?
Yeah I don't know
At this point everything gets shipped
What if it breaks? It's glass
And then I get a bottle and it's broken
And I'm like I got up and I'm upset
How many valuable things have gone shipped in the mail
And they've never broken
I'm so old am I?
Yes I'm so old
You should get over it for your love of this sauce.
I'm worried about crap like that.
It's like $10.
I should just do it.
And the best part about Amazon is if something is wrong, you literally send it back there really good about like refunding, getting you a new one, whatever.
I know, I know, I need to move on.
You do.
I know.
Especially as much as you clearly love this sauce.
I love it so much because I used to be able to get all the time at Ranch 99 or 99 ranch.
You go to 99 ranch is like an old, it's almost like a public's, but for Asian foods and seafood and all that kind of stuff.
and it's based in California.
They have a couple of spots around here,
but it started in L.A.
And they're all over California.
What is the brand?
I'm looking up on Amazon.
99 Ranch.
Oh, the brand of sweet chili sauce is,
uh,
if you pull up sweet chili sauce,
I'll pull up a bottle.
It's,
it's a clear glass bottle.
It's got a white label on it.
Oh,
Whole Foods has sweet chili sauce.
Yeah,
they do, big, big bottles.
Yeah, it looks like it.
A nine fluid ounce.
Oh, I hate that brand.
Okay, okay.
That's cool.
I get it.
I get not generic brands.
I like the one not made by white people.
I like the one where...
La Trooy?
La Trooy, that one's...
Okay.
This is one...
This one's okay.
Actually, this is like my second favorite.
May...
May ploy sweet chili sauce.
This is one...
This is like my second favorite.
May ploy.
Oh, they have it at Walmart, bro.
Really?
But they have the small bottles, though.
You never explored Walmart?
It's the 12...
Oh, Amazon has a 25 ounce.
Yeah, and a two pack for $17.
That's what I need.
See?
That's what I need.
See?
Hey, let me turn you on to something.
Let me turn you on to something.
Yeah.
And it's called Amazon.
You turn me onto the same thing that I already love and need more of, but just from
somewhere else.
And then I also love the hoi fung chili garlic sauce that right there in that little
like jar looking thing with the green top.
Oh yeah.
It's like chili paste.
But you put that on your food or mix that with like like soy sauce.
Yeah.
Or you take, ooh, my favorite to, I love this Filipino food called Okoi.
And it's almost like a pancake that they fry and inside there.
You'll have like bean sprouts and you'll have like a breading on top and there's shrimp.
It's all like, do you eat shrimp?
No, I don't need shrimp.
No, I don't eat anything good.
You just like stuff from the ground.
Me and my boyfriend were having a very similar conversation the other day.
Because he eats meat and stuff?
Well, because.
Like how does that like Z eat meat real quick?
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
So how do you do that?
Well, we just eat different foods.
But snack-wise, we have similar things.
It says like you're not snacking on.
a piece of steak.
You know what I mean?
True.
Yeah, yeah.
But he did turn me on to Thai food.
You'd be very proud of me.
A love Thai food.
He's obsessed with Thai food.
Okay.
And I've really never had it because I just haven't explored vegetarian Thai food
because it's a little bit harder to find.
And he knew of a local place that he loves.
Yeah.
And he was like, give it a try.
And I was like, okay, I love fried rice.
So I've always been a fried rice girl.
Got some of that.
But then I got the noodles.
Pad Thai?
Yeah.
You don't get with shrimp, though.
So what do you put?
No, it was veggies.
You get with tofu in it then?
I didn't get tofu because I'm not a huge tofu person.
But I got a whole lot of veggies in it and it was so good.
And the noodles were covered in the sweet and sour sauce and I love sweet and sour sauce.
That's good.
And you should also try Tomkai soup.
We had that at CMA Fest when I remember that soup I was eating.
Yeah.
So Tomkai soup is really, really good.
And depending on your heat level, you can tell them what heat level you want.
But that, I believe, is just like mushroom and like a coconut base.
It's all, there's nothing.
Okay.
So I've never been a mushroom person, but I'm trying really hard to like get into mushrooms.
are good.
Oh, yeah.
Mushrooms are delicious.
I think it's the texture of them.
It's not the taste.
I just say,
like, yeah.
I guess if it's cooked the right way,
it tastes different.
So, yeah,
if it's like slimy and like,
I don't know.
You're right.
There are ones that you're like,
oh, this is gross.
But then some of them are made right.
Okay.
Or like stuff mushrooms
because then it's not like soft and gross.
They're a little bit more like crunchier
and harder.
Okay.
And cook differently.
I could do crunchy and hard.
Yeah.
It's the,
it's something about,
I don't know why.
Soft texture.
They also just look funky.
Mushrooms look funny to me.
Yeah, mushrooms are good.
And sometimes if you find the right mushrooms,
it can be a lot of fun.
So.
That is very true.
I don't know that I need either in my life.
I don't know, though.
Maybe it's kind of, you know, why not?
I'm already cuckoo, okay?
Like, we don't need to add to that.
This maybe, you know, maybe you can get it fine.
I don't know.
I'm just maybe be open to it.
You never know.
What if your boyfriend comes here?
He's like, babe, babe.
All right, here's the thing.
I've always wanted to do this.
I don't know that you would.
But I've always want to do this.
I'm no longer having to worry about what I'm doing with anything.
I'm a little bit free with work.
I'm not going to be tested for anything.
I got these awesome shrooms from my buddy from Denver.
He's like,
what if we'll stay in the house?
We'll just take a little bit out of time and see how we feel.
Scooby.
I would be the person that's calling 911 be like,
I'm not okay.
I took my shrews.
My boyfriend gave it to me.
It's all his fault.
I see aliens.
Like, that would be me.
Would that be cool, though?
I don't need.
I've literally already cuckoo.
I've never really, people say they see things and they hallucinate.
I don't really think that that's really true because I've done it so many times that I've never really actually physically fully on hallucinated.
Maybe I'm taking the wrong.
There's different kinds I know.
But for me, it's always just been an experience where everything becomes very vivid.
The colors are super bright.
Everything is so funny.
Like I can't stop laughing.
I'm laughing so much.
And I'm coming up with funny ideas.
I mean, my friends are usually bouncing off each other.
What's the difference then between that and doing?
cannabis. So smoking
weed is different because
what is that? Listen, I was trying to be
politically correct. What's the difference with that in
doing cannabis? Well, in all fair
I know, if I say cannabis, the kids may not know what I'm talking about.
So I was trying to be a little protective.
There's a rapper, can I bus. Yes, you can. Can I bus? Yes, you can.
If you have kids, please don't listen at this moment.
Oh, no, you can listen at this moment. I'll keep it safe and I'll talk about
cannabis. Hey, that was a good cover. Doing cannabis.
Oh, my goodness. So when you're doing cannabis,
I'm not so doing cordis.
I'm about to wrap you up.
It's very fun.
You laugh, you get that one, you're more hungry, that one you're a little bit more.
It depends on if you're doing Sativa or Indica.
Indica, you're like, you're watching something or doing something and two seconds later, you're out.
If it's Sativa, it's more of an upper and it's, and that is more of an uplifting feel.
And that may even like take you to a point where you can be energetic and more outgoing, still probably hungry too.
too, but energetic, outgoing, more willing to just be yourself and not give a crap
what anyone thinks.
And you are going to laugh.
Things are going to be funny.
You're going to have a good time.
Especially if you're on the right people, you'll laugh a lot.
But if you were to do it and you're just hanging out your house, you're not going to be
constantly laughing.
You're just probably going to be chilling and watching TV and zoning out or focus on something
or thinking of an idea or whatever.
So the main difference I'm seeing is that I will be more hungry on cannabis.
Yes, more hungry on that.
And you'll be more focused, whereas the taking shrooms, you're going to be just, you're
You're just going to be inundated on everything you see and everything is so bright and vivid and everything is just like just pure and crystal clear
Okay, it's like it heightens your eyes senses for some reason. I really appreciate this lesson in drugs. Yeah, the problem
Thank you very much. Cannabis
Cannabis
Cannabis
Okay, we are gonna be done and wrap it up because if I don't Scooba and I will be here all day. We could talk about everything
How long has it been? That was pretty good. I'm 30 minutes. I'm so proud of us. I'm really proud of us
I know
Really proud of you mostly you I'm proud of you. Why? Because I kept wrapping you up. Oh yeah, because you're
Hey, Brian, I mean, you made sure to stop talking.
Me?
Because you have a big problem.
Sometimes you get on hearing, you just don't know when to stop.
Okay, that's rude.
That's just rude.
That's just rude. You've been sold to me twice now.
I'm going to go do some canadas.
I don't even have water to drink or do anything because it's...
Okay. All right. Goodbye, everybody.
Yep, see you.
