And so this is the best bits of the last six months. But I'm doing this one a little differently. I'm not going to break down bits because you guys can go to the best bits that I put together. And you'll see blind karaoke and easy trivia and the drafts and a lot of fun games. So you can go over there and listen to that. But here, this weekend, I'm just hanging out with Miss Abby. Hello. Hello.

You're going to be doing an interesting podcast with me where basically we're just going to talk about life and everything and whatever we want. I love it. Because that's kind of what we do already, but normally I associate them to bits that happened during the show. But this one is just totally random. I'm all about it. And we'll talk about our vacations and stuff where we went or whatnot. You'll hear at least the pre to our vacations because we will have recorded this before we went on vacation. Also, we may talk about things like, I'm just trying to get this in so y'all can have some extra content while we're gone.

So just know that this was recorded a little bit early before we left for vacation. Don't come at me for the timing of things. Okay. But we're just going to kick things off. So on the show this week, Skibb Steve brought up the things that we want to do before we die. And I really want to have this conversation because I said a very serious one on the show. Like I really want to get married before I die. Like that's just a very obvious thing for me.

Everything else is kind of like, okay, I've experienced a lot of life. I feel really good about it. Getting married is about the only like life event that I'm like, I would love to see this happen before I pass away and I'm in a grave somewhere. Is there any big life events? Before we get into like the really fun ones of like things we want to do before I die, because I got a whole list. And I'm sure you have like ideas of things you want to do too. Yes. Do you have like a life event that you want to happen before you die? A life event, like a personal kind of like a getting married. Yeah, just like something big. Yeah. And maybe it's getting married for you too or maybe it's something else.

Let's see. Mine would definitely be getting married and having kids. Okay. I would say. So you're similar to me. Yes. There's the having kids part. But I'm older. So I feel like time's ticking over here. I'm older than you. You're still young.

Oh gosh, by like a few years. I know. It's not that much. Okay. So getting married and I agree. It's definitely something I want to happen. What about fun stuff? Like, I don't know about you, but I have a whole notes app in my phone of like the things I want to do on my bucket list.

I want to buy an RV. and just like quit my job and travel around the U.S. I think we've talked about that before, but that's a big one is like traveling. You want to retire and run away. Yes, basically. Yeah. Great.

Do you have like specifics of where you want to go? So like some of the ones on my list, I want to go to a concert at Red Rocks in Colorado. I do too. I've never been. I've only been during the day. Okay. But besides I just saw like the hailstorm that hit there, like I never want that to happen. There was to me.

Yeah, there was a Louis Tomlinson. concert. Yeah. And there was a massive hail storm. Like, I'm not just talking like bitty size hail and people were running. There was like over 100 people injured. Jeez. And they were out in the open. There's not probably anywhere to go, I would imagine, because you're literally out in the middle of like nature. Right. And it was nuts. The videos that were posted on Twitter were like, it just looked like something otherworldly. It's never been like that with hail that I've seen here that I've experienced or like seen on social media. Yeah, that's really scary. And the fact like, imagine that is your first there and you get pelted by hail. That's really, that's unfortunate. Well, and like people think,

oh, like you get hit by one hail piece and you move forward. No, like this is like coming down every angle. Like your whole body is pelted. It's like many paintballs, I think. Right. You know what I mean? That's what I imagine that to feel like. Me too. I still want to go there, but I'm a little nervous after seeing that online. I'm like, okay, I needed to make sure there's no weather. It's like a dry day. I know. But I don't know who I want to see there. That's a hard one. I don't. I don't know either. Like what you want to go? If you're going to travel to go, like, who are you going to, it's worth it to go and see there? I know. And I just don't know. I remember Luke Holmes was there one time and I just wanted to look at tickets just for fun. This is probably four years ago

or something. And they were so expensive and they go so fast. And it was like the last row. But it doesn't matter. I mean, you're in there. So it really doesn't matter where your seats are. I imagine it's pretty expensive. It's like one of those places that a lot of people traveled to go to a concert too. That was before COVID too. So those are free COVID prices. Yes. I don't know. I heard seeing Zach Brian there was really cool.

Oh, I bet. But I just don't know who I'd want to. Like, that's my only stipulation I have right now is I don't know who's like worth it to travel and see there for the venue. Yeah. Another one I want to do is Marty Grah in New Orleans. Same. We have the same list. Yeah.

As Kansas girls, we just, you know, we do the same things. You know, I just want to experience a lot of life. What about attend a Kentucky Derby? Haven't done that either. Yes. What were you going to say? I was going to say all the national parks. I would love to go to those.

And I want to go to Yellowstone. Same. Honestly, I want to hit all the national parks before, like, you know, everything changes, goes away. Because every time they're like, oh, well, like, the tides are rising. And I'm like, dang, Yellowstone may not be there in, like, 10 years. I know. Or just not look the same that people think it is. That's why I have scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef on my list.

So like I see online a lot like the Great Barrier Reef is changing really rapidly. And I'm one of my biggest fears is that I'm not going to be able to go and do scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef before it's gone. Yeah. Does that not scare you to scuba diving? Like have you ever been scuba diving anywhere? I've been snorkeling. Yeah. And I have done a lot of like kind of water excursions, but they've never done full on snorkewarm.

orcule or scuba diving. It makes me so nervous. It does me too. Like being so far underneath and like you have to use an oxygen tank and everything. But I just think it would be so cool. That would be awesome. You know, and you see so many cool things you'd be with all the turtles. Maybe some sharks. Maybe some sharks. Yeah. You just want to go casually swimming with some sharks too. I mean, yeah. I think it's one of those things as long as you don't bother them, they don't bother you. A lot of people do it and they're okay. You know, we don't see a lot of news stories about accidents at the Great Barrier Reef, unless it's just because we're not there. I know, I'm like, well, it's pretty far away, maybe.

Maybe you start looking at it. Yeah, I'm with you. What's like the number, the top three national parks you want to go to? Oh, dang. I don't even know all the national parks. Yeah, all of them. North Cascades is really cool. I don't even know all of them.

The Yellowstone is at your top. Well, we'll talk about some national parks when we talk about vacations because I will be going to some, which I'm very excited about. Yes, I'm excited to hear about this. Let me see what else I have on here, though. I have winery in Naples. I want to go like wine country. I want to go on an African safari.

That's like one of the number one on my list. I really want to go on an African safari. Volunteer at a Wildlife Reserve. I want to go to a Holly Festival in India. These are all great. These have all been in my notes app on my first. phone for years of things I want to do. And I have I have like knocked off some things, but nothing like super wild. Most of these are in other countries. And I did go to New Orleans for the first time. I just didn't happen to go to Marty Kraw. Yeah. So I had like half of that. I've never even been there. And then I have like a, you know, catch 22 with Kentucky Derby after all the news that came out this year. So I'm like, I know. I don't know. Seriously. There's like so much. I haven't even been thinking of things that I want to do. You know, that's the thing.

You got to start manifesting them. I put them out there that's say that way you end up doing them. I know. But in all fairness, these have been in my notes for literally years and I have not done them. I know. What are we waiting on? Come on. Well, you're going to do one of them, right?

I'm going to do something along the lines that's been. I had like sand dunes in Utah. I'm not going to do the sand dunes because I think I'm going to say that. I really want to go to the great sand dunes national park, the white sand dunes in New Mexico, Nevada. I don't know. It's right next to El Paso, Texas. It's like an hour away. Yeah. And so I'm saving my dunes for that one. But I am going to go to Utah. So I'm crossing that off of the list coming up soon. I'm excited. That is exciting. My friend just went to Egypt and saw the pyramids and was eating Pizza Hut right by the pyramids. Okay, that's amazing. Is that not crazy? I was like, they have Pizza Hut over there? That feels very touristy trapped to me. It does. I was like, what in the world? And she like wrote a camel. I was okay, I want to do that. Like, my My friends inspire me, you know? And it's like when you're out there traveling and like hiking and stuff, I'm like, that's what I want to do.

Because you did that last year. Yes. I like to go on adventures. Yeah. I'm not, but you are much more of a beach girl than I am. Right. You could go just chill on the beach and hang out. And I'm like, no, I'd last like five minutes.

Why? You just don't, you'd rather be. I'd rather be adventuring. Like if you take me to a beach, I'm going to last maybe an hour. And then I'd be like, okay, like, so Jeskies, parasailing? Like, what can we do? Can we buggyboard? Like, tell me something we can do.

I just don't, I don't know. Like, if I'm on a boat, like a lake day, I love lake days. And I love being on a boat and hanging out. But for whatever reason, I cannot, like, get behind, like, laying in the sand. I mean, I only lay there, like, an hour. So, and then I, like, explore the city, I guess. But I'm usually in California where the weather's perfect and I, like, walk around everywhere. How many different towns have you been to in California that had like beaches?

Oh man. Well, I did a trip. This was my favorite trip and I would do it again. But I started in San Francisco and then drove all the way down the coast and ended in Palm Springs. And I would definitely recommend that trip. Is that on the Pacific Coast Highway? Yes. I want to do that. It was the, I'm not even kidding. Like I've been to Europe, but this was so amazing for being right here. And okay, so how many cities did you end up hitting? Oh my gosh. So it was like, like 10 days and we hit every city. I would say 50, 20. So it was the only thing you didn't do is Northern California then? So San Francisco's like kind of in the middle, a little bit northern, but it's kind of in the middle. It's kind of in the middle. Yeah. So we didn't get to any parts,

like Napa, any of that. We just went like Big Sur all of that. See, I was thinking you could do like all of California in a week, but you had 10 days. Well, because we wanted to pack it in. We saw like every city that you can possibly see. See, I want, no, I'm like, look, listen, this is what I do. This is part of my brain that you're seeing right now. I will open up Google Maps. Yeah. And I will bring it out wider.

And then I'll go into a state and I'll be like, hmm, what can I do there? And then I just kind of start looking at cities. And then I just look at national parks. And then I just start exploring from there. Uh-huh. That's literally how my brain works of like how this happens. Okay, so I'm looking at California in San Francisco. Holy crap.

So you went all the way down to where? San Diego? Palm Springs. Where's Palm Springs? I mean, it's way south. I'm trying to look on the map too, so I can tell you. I know. Well, so is it, it's not.

Like Joshua Tree? So Palm Springs is kind of inland more, but I've always wanted to be there because the vibe. I was looking on it. Yeah, I was looking on the thing. Okay. Well, there's San Bernardina. Oh, there's Palm Springs. I see it.

So we went like, yeah, we went San Francisco and then like Big Sur. Then you go through like the Redwoods, which was really awesome. Then Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel by the sea, Pfeiffer Beach. We went to the Hearst Castle, which is like this gigantic, like, castle, really, in like a pool in the back. I'm looking, okay, wait, I thought the Redwoods were northern, but they're not, huh? They're in San Bernardino National Forest. Is that what you said? Yes.

Hold on. Or is it National, Joshua Tree National Park? that has well the Joshua tree that's way south that was like the very end of our trip so you just didn't make it down to San Diego yeah we went to San Diego you did yeah because we went like um think you're right at the border Pizmo beach um Santa Barbara this is crazy I'm like looking at this okay so yeah we did all that like Newport Beach laguna beach okay so really what you missed were the mountains yeah in California Because really, like, San Francisco is the first, well, Sacramento, more inland, is like the first big city. And then you do go all the way down.

I lied. We did not go to San Diego. Sorry. Yeah. So we went from Laguna Beach and then we went inland to Palm Springs. Okay. So yeah, we didn't make it farther south. And then, yes, like north.

This is wild. I'm just like looking at California on a map and it's so big. I mean, it was amazing. Like, Big Sur. Yeah. It's insane. You're up on like tall cliffs. It's amazing.

Okay, well, I mean, I've wanted to do that, so you're just encouraging it even more. Like, you know how you said your friends inspire you? Yes. I've been wanting to do Pacific Coast Highway. You're inspiring me. Do it. I mean, because you just plan it out in every city you stop in and you look at things like must seas in every city. Which was your favorite city?

Oh, gosh. I loved. Let's see. Probably San Simeon. I don't know why. I think that was where all the surfers were and there was like a pier. Oh, okay. And it was a very majestic.

Yes. It was like golden hour and I was like, I want to move here. It was amazing. Okay, that's cool. That's a good one. That's one I have on my list. I just haven't written down here right now. Yeah.

All right. Anything else you can think of before we go and dive in, talk about our little vacations? I don't think so. Other than skydiving, I want to do that too. Which is happening soon. Yes. After vacation. Uh-huh.

You excited? Nervous. Yeah. I'm very excited, but I'm very nervous. It'll go great. Because I just, you just imagine. when you're up on a plane and looking down, that's my biggest. Just don't look down until you jump out of the plane.

Like really? Don't look down until it's like time to go. And you're like, okay, there it is. And I'm already out here. Can't do anything about it. Just close your eyes. Sounds like a great idea. Tell me when I'm there.

And then they push you out. Like literally. They really do push you out? I think so. That's what they've been saying. I mean, I imagine that most people get up there and they start having a freak out. And they're like, it's going to be fine. And then they just push them out.

And then it's like, oh my God, this is amazing. Well, I guess you, I mean, you are attached to the other person. So they're like, no, we're going. You have no choice. I do think you have like a last minute, like, okay, like if you're genuinely freaking out and like, I cannot do this. This is not going to happen. I don't think they're going to push you out of the plane.

Right. Yeah. But I think if it's more of like you just get really nervous and scared a little bit at the beginning, you're like, oh, I don't know. They're going to be like, okay, we're just going to push you out. Yeah. You know? Yeah.

I think just to help move you along. in a process because if you sit there and think about it, then you're definitely not going to want to do it. That's true. You know, but I always have wanted to go skydiving, but I wanted it to be in Hawaii. So this is a little different. This is not Hawaii. It is Kentucky. I know. I wanted shocker at a beach to look at. You know, beautiful views just in case. That's how I am. That's why I didn't have volunteer myself. I was like, if I'm going to jump out of a plan, I want to see some really cool things. Like, I don't really have a desire to go to Dubai, but I just keep putting that in my head. Like, I've seen people skydive in Dubai and it's crazy. Really? Or like Singapore. Or just something, I don't know,

something like really cool to see. Now, I don't know. I might get really scared like because I wouldn't know a lot of the language and then I'd be like, I probably shouldn't jump out of here. Yeah. That's right true. I feel like those are really pretty to jump out of. Yes. Like really cool cities like that. Uh-huh. I don't know. But so yeah, that's why I did not, I did not jump into this one. I was like, I'm just going to see how. I'm just going to see how this goes. Right. I'll let you know how all the green grass looks. Hey, tell me how, but you're jumping out with the best in the business, literally. That is true. So that's a cool experience of itself. No, yeah, for sure. I'm like, I trust them, so we're good. Yeah, they're good in emergency situations. Yeah,

What are you doing? Where are you going? So I'm going to the beach. But I kind of wish that I would have done something a little bit more, like, exciting and active like you, because I love exploring, too, like a park.

But I'm going to the beach and I'm kind of locked in where I'm staying because I can't get a refund on where I'm saying. So that's, I shouldn't have done that. Because this is awesome. I had plans to go with a friend and they're not able to go anymore. So. Dang. So you're going again. Yes.

By your zone. Yes. And it was last time last 4th of July. It was. So I'm kind of bummed out because I remember like on holidays I don't like to be alone. And like 4th of July you want to be with friends or do something fun. And I remember last year when I went to Key West. I was on one of those sunset cruises and it was actually really depressing.

Wait, you looked like you're having the best time ever. Well, I did. But there was just that one moment when it's like all the fireworks are going off. I was having fun until the fireworks. And then I was like looking around and there were couples everywhere, you know. Yeah. And then like families. And I was like, oh gosh, I'm just sitting here by myself.

It was sad. But I'm hoping maybe I can meet people. I don't know. Oh, Abby. I mean, you're going to have to. Like in order to eat. Last time you went on a boat with some people. Yes.

You just may have to like insert yourself again. You're just going to have to meet people. Gosh, I hate that for you, especially because you planned. Yes. You know, and you got really excited about it. And now it's like, okay, cool, I can't back out. Right, because I would not have gone by myself. I was like, I'm done with this.

Like, I like going by myself, but I'm on vacation. I'd rather be spending time with people. Yeah, you did it once. You're like, okay, cool, that was a cool experience. But like, I'm good. Yes. It's not for everyone. Like, it's definitely a very particular type of person that can do that consistently

and, you know, roll with it. So I totally get it. I couldn't. Like, if I didn't find a friend to go with me on my vacation, I wasn't going to go. I was just going to go hang out with my family and call it a day. Yeah, but, which is fun in itself. But I'm like very much the person like, at least you're going somewhere because I don't know about you, but if I go, if I like, say we have a vacation and I just like sit at home,

I'm like, dang, I really should have done something with that time. It feels like a very missed opportunity to like just not do something. Right. You're like, we only get so many vacations a year. I'm not going to spend it just sitting on the couch. Yeah. When I can do that any weekend that I want. want to do it. Yes. So at least you are going to be doing something. Yeah. And it's somewhere I've

never been. So yes, I will be exploring by myself. At least you, hey, you're going to a new city. You know, and I think where you're going, I do think there's a younger crowd. So I think you may have at least a little bit better of an experience meeting some younger people than the older kind of couples that you met last time. Yes. Yeah. You had a lot of those run-ins. Wait, have you been on Bumble friends? Have you tried that? I did it when I first moved to Nashville. I had thought about that for there. Do it. I haven't been on Bumble in forever, but I'm like, should I get it just to do the friends? And I can be like, hey, what's up? You totally should. Just put in your thing like, hey, I'm visiting for the week. And I, you know, my friend bailed out. Honestly, I think people would love it. Yeah. You'd probably meet somebody with a boat. At least I'm going to manifest that for you that that happens. I'll put that in my profile. I'll just be like, hey, if you have a boat, hit me up.

Yep. Dang, Abby, I'm sorry. Isn't that crazy? I was like, I was so excited too. It's hard when you get really excited about something too and it just like falls apart at the last minute too. Like you can't shift it. You can't do anything about it. It's just like there.

Yes. And I never do non-refundable things ever for this reason and this time I did. And here we have. You had a lot of hope. Yes. And a lot of wanting. I was like, what's going to happen? Nothing can fall through. We're fine. And then here we are. Oh, well, I'm excited to see how it goes. We're going to think positive on it and think that it's going to go really well. You're going to have a great time. And it'll be awesome. It's going to be great. Yes. That's what we're going to manifest for you. Uh-huh. All right. All good vibes. No bad vibes. Yeah, no bad vibes. Absolutely none. Especially for your beach vacation. All good vibes.

I'm going to be exploring Utah like I mentioned. Yes. And I will be going to some national parks and I'm seeing the Grand Canyon as well. Oh, see, I've never seen the Grand Canyon. Same. This is my first time. Dang. So, and I have, listen, I love putting together itineraries for things.

So if you ever want to go somewhere and explore and you're like, I just don't know what to do, where to go. Like, hit me up. I'm here, girl. I love just putting together things for people to do. I'm really good at researching and putting trips. trips together that are like just to keep in mind of them just very adventurous so like I'm like you can do a lot of things you can fit a lot in you know a 20 hour day or whatever yeah right you don't need sleep while you're on vacation so I'm a little adventurous but we are going so we're going to go we're flying

into Salt Lake City and then we're going to be venturing to the arches National Park and right in the canon lands national park and checking out another city that we're going to stay in near there And then from there, we're going to go to Antelope Canyon. Okay. And Horseshoe Bend, which Anilop Canyon is like one of the, it kind of looks like the wave that you see on the backgrounds of computers. No way. That's what Anilop Canyon is.

Oh, my gosh. That's amazing. It's like right outside of the Grand Canyon. But it kind of looks like the Grand Canyon. So Horseshoe Bend is also like, it's kind of weird. When I was doing all this research, like I really thought Anilope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend were in the Grand Canyon, but they're not. They're like right outside of it.

but they're kind of advertised like they're in the Grand Canyon. Oh, okay. And they look like it. A lot of pictures of them are associated with it. And Horseshoe Bend is that iconic picture where you see like the river. And it literally looks like a horseshoe. Yes. And people associate it with the Grand Canyon, but it's not.

So as I go home and everything get that all settled, I will need to be sure where we are

going in the Grand Canyon before we drive on down there. But I don't think we're going to be by the glass. I think it's like four hours from where we're at. The Grand Canyon is massive. But like, it was one of those things where we didn't really want to hike in it. We were just like we really want to see the Grand Canyon. Everything else we kind of wanted to hike in and see. And then we'll be, I'll be in Wichita for the rest of time hanging out with family. And my sister's trying on wedding dresses.
