Happy Valentine's Day weekend, everyone, in case you're a first time listener, I'm Morgan, and what we do is take the best seven bits of the week based on your engagement online, the things you guys called in about, and we count them down from seven to one. And as lunchbox gets really mad sometimes, yes, they are ranked, but there's so much that happens on our show. This is just a way of bringing them all to you.
Starting point is 00:03:55 you guys for maybe the first time or maybe a second time and reliving it. I don't know, but yes, we count them down. And along the way, I bring on some show members and we, you know, show some behind the scenes from the bits that we're talking about. Or I just bring on everybody and show you guys real behind the scenes of what happens after the show. And sometimes it gets funny. And today, I'm telling you, it's going to get funny. Up first, we brought on Jared Isaacman, who is the pilot for the first civilian space mission. Yes, you heard that right. He's going to space and he's taking three civilians with him and we brought him on to talk all about it if he's afraid if other people should be afraid and well let's just say after the interview some of us
Starting point is 00:04:34 do want to go to space so listen to this number seven on the phone with us is jared isigman who i'm excited to talk to because he's the guy behind this mission to space for regular folks so hey jared how are you i'm doing well bobby thank you hey really appreciate you coming on we have so many questions first of all first question how awesome is it to be a billionaire you know i I haven't taken much time to really think about that over the last year. There's a lot going on these days. Man, it's all I think about. I'll be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:05:02 I'd think about all that, too, but that's all I would think about. That's crazy. Okay, so the reason we're having you on really is because you're doing something fantastic with your money. Tell me about this inspiration for with St. Jude and exactly what's happening here. This is the first all-civilian mission to space. So what does that mean? This is the first time people are going to outer space and weren't sent there by, you know, a superpower like the U.S. or Russia or China.
Starting point is 00:05:27 This is everyday people going and, you know, exploring among the stars and recognizing that it's a first, you know, a first step in this really cool direction that we all want to live in. Like we've tried to be really thoughtful about who's going to go and represent us on this mission. You know, inspiring individuals as part of the crew in their own right. And then we have to tie it to solving some bigger problems here on Earth. And that's why St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will be the beneficiary of the biggest fundraising effort in their 59-year history. We're going to raise over $200 million. Okay, so that's where we come in, because I do want to ask questions about, you know,
Starting point is 00:06:02 how we get on the ship, meaning we in this room. But people can actually, like donate to be in a raffle, basically, and then you go to space. Is that right? Yeah, it's a big fundraising effort. It's all on the Inspiration4.com mission website. You go there, you make a donation to shift for, which is an incredibly worthwhile and important cause. And at the end of the month, you know, through a random selection process, you could get fitted for a space suit. Crazy. And you're going to go to space, right? That's right.
Starting point is 00:06:28 Yeah, I'm leading the mission, and I'm bringing three awesome individuals along with me. Are you not scared? No, not at all. So I've flown air shows, you know, in fighter deaths, 18 inches apart from other people. I definitely know what, you know, significant risk is. This isn't. This is SpaceX. These guys build rockets that land on ships in the middle of the ocean, certified by NASA.
Starting point is 00:06:50 I'm super confident, not nervous at all. Okay, so we are all going to donate, and we do a lot with St. Jude on this show, but we've decided to all donate in one person's name, and if they get drawn, they go, but nobody wants to go because we all think we're going to die. Yeah, I don't think that's going to happen. I know that, you know, people think about the rockets that, you know, turn into big fireworks shows. What people don't remember is, like, there's literally thousands that go up and do exactly what they're supposed to do. Just take a look at some of the SpaceX videos. They've got some awesome footage of their rockets going to space, putting people, putting payload. I mean, this is a company that's reinvigorated to world's interest in space exploration that brought NASA astronauts back to space from U.S. soil in more than 10 years.
Starting point is 00:07:35 They're really good at this. No one of the kids of your own, and one of the arguments here on the show from the guys where I have kids, I don't want to go up in this. But if you're feeling that way and it's that safe, don't you recommend that they feel that way, too? Well, look, everybody's got their thing, right? I'm not saying everybody, you know, wants to go out and, you know, journey in space, you know, like Star Trek or Star Wars. We all got our passions in life. But I do say that if this was ever something you were thinking about doing, you know, this is probably the safest way to go about it. And look, you can still make a great donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Starting point is 00:08:07 You could still try and win the entrepreneur seat. And if you somehow win and you don't want to go, well, auction it off for charities, you know, raise even more money for St. Jude. That's fine, too. Okay, well, one of us. We're going to do a little drawing. and we're all going to donate in one person's name and hopefully send one of our guys here to space. I do feel a little better hearing him talk about how confident he is.
Starting point is 00:08:25 He's like the smartest guy we ever talked to on the show. Yeah. Yeah. So let's go. Everybody, let's go. Who wants to go? All right, nobody. Okay, we'll get to that later.
Starting point is 00:08:35 Let me ask you a question. Is there a key for an airplane? Do you go in and turn it and when you're flying your jets? Or is there just a button? You know, I've got to tell you, I've probably flown like 50 different types of jets and only one had a key, and it was to get into the hatch. Once you get up into the cockpit, you're just hitting buttons. Dang.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Is it true that pilots are served at different meals in case one gets sick? You know, most of the planes I fly, they're like single-seat or two-seat fighters, so there's no real opportunity for anyone to serve me a meal up there, so I've never had that problem. No flight attendants going. Would you like the chicken? Okay, I have a couple other questions here. Do you look at price tags when you go in the store? You know, I'd say I probably do.
Starting point is 00:09:22 I actually do like probably a lot of people. I spend a lot of time on Amazon. If I'm going out, it's probably to like a restaurant since, you know, my company shift for is pretty big into restaurants. We try and support the industry. What can we do? What's a tip from a rich guy and for us how to be rich? Well, I'd say that you've got to follow your passions.
Starting point is 00:09:43 I think some of like the richest people in the world right now never set out to be rich. They went down a path that was interesting to them where they thought they could make a difference. They were like super passionate about it and good things came from it. So I just encourage people to follow their interests and their passions and be the best at it. So basically Bitcoin is what I'm hearing. Yeah, I'd be careful on any of the speculative stuff that's out there, but I know it's fun to play. Okay, so Jared Isaacman is on. Listen, he's doing great things.
Starting point is 00:10:11 It's for St. Jude. and you can go to space by donating. And you don't have to donate a million dollars. You donate $10, you donate $10. So that's what it's all about. It's people giving, and even if you don't win, your money goes to a great cause. Can you give me the website again?
Starting point is 00:10:25 People can go to and donate. Yeah, for sure. Check out our mission website, which is Inspiration4.com. Inspiration, the number 4.com. You'll have until February 28th to get those entries in, so you have time. Hey, Jared, thank you for talking with us.
Starting point is 00:10:39 You are a hero in many, many ways, Just the latest way is what you're doing for St. Jude. And one day it'd be really great to meet you. Have a good day, my friend. Thank you very much. Thanks for having me. Take care. There he is.
Starting point is 00:10:49 Jared Isaacman, worth $2 billion. He's a billionaire. He's an American. He's from New Jersey, 37 years old. He's married, two daughters. Tech entrepreneur found his company in 1999, his parents' basement. He's a civilian pilot. He's worth an estimated $2 billion.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Wow. With a B. With a B. Just in case you didn't hear that. Okay. Okay. There you go. We're going to figure out which one of us we're going to nominate to go up on that spaceship.
Starting point is 00:11:14 Does anyone want to go now after hearing him talk? No. No. Morgan's like, yeah, maybe. Yeah, I feel better about it. Okay, girls. What do he say, though? That you won't die?
Starting point is 00:11:24 Yeah, he said, I'll tell you that right now too. You won't die. Well, just reminding us, like, I guess I'm not aware of all of the rockets that go up all of the time, because I'm not dialed into what they're doing. But they have successful, more successful missions than. Yeah, we only see the bad ones. Exactly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:43 Okay. I'd rather not, but we'll figure it out. Probably next week we'll put someone up on the wheel. Nominate them. How crazy if one of us did go? And then we came back. That would be pretty wild. It would be awesome.
Starting point is 00:11:58 And you'd be fine. Yeah. It's the best bits of the week with Morgan number two. On the show this week, we all talked about our top choices for breakfast. food and I thought it'd be really fun to bring on some of the show members that y'all don't normally hear from that often which is most of us that hang out here
Starting point is 00:12:19 just like after the show working on things so I've got Scoobo Steve Hillary Eddie lunchbox Ramuda Abby Can I say something about the breakfast She's hosting the show This may get a little wild We're gonna that was very exciting
Starting point is 00:12:37 This may get a little wild I'm also here I'm Morgan but we're going to talk about some things. Since we talked about our favorite choices for breakfast items, I'd be like, you know what, let's get to know the show members a little bit more. So I want to go around the room, and I'm going to have you guys answer some just random questions, okay? Okay. So, but we're going to wait your turn, lunch.
Starting point is 00:12:59 We're going to keep this less chaotic and everybody goes one at a time. I'll shout in, okay? This is orderly. Yes, ma'am. All right. Yes, Mom. Are we going to get put in time? Yes, maybe.
Starting point is 00:13:12 I want to hear you guys' choice for your favorite wild animal. Starting with Eddie and y'all just go along. See, you take your turn. There we go. Okay, he goes first. Wild animal? Yep. I think people appreciate how hard Bobby's job when you realize like how to wrangle you when you're on the radio.
Starting point is 00:13:30 How did derangle me? Yes. That's tough though. Wild animal. I think cheetah's just cool because it's fast, but I don't know if that's my favorite. I would say I always like months. monkeys because I liked curious George as a kid. What?
Starting point is 00:13:43 Okay. So I would think it would be kind of cool to see a monkey. But I think it would be neat to see an elephant. What's your favorite? What's your favorite? She's Louise. Guys, this is how Amy talks out her answers. How come I can't talk about it?
Starting point is 00:13:57 Zebras are pretty. Wait, hold on. How come Amy can talk out her answers? I'm talking out my answer just like her. I'm trying to get to it. This isn't a game. It's just an opinion from your life. Well, I'm trying to get there.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Okay. I don't know. the right answer because I've never thought about what's my favorite. Now we have time for nobody else. Thanks a lot. Great. Move on. Cool. Come on. Give me your top choice. Favorite wild animal lunchbox. Let him go. He named three already. Fine, elephant. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Out of all that, he gets elephant. Eddie, favorite animal. Shark. Okay. Hillary, is an alpaca wild animal? Yes. Yeah, I mean, yeah. Alpaca. Okay. Abby. I'm going to say lion. All right. Scoobest Steve. Star-nosed mole. What? What? Just where? He's trying to be funny. Are those the ones in our yards?
Starting point is 00:14:41 Yeah, because now this is the movie in Tennessee. Never seen them before. I live here now. They're all in my backyard. And they are so cool. My dog tries to catch him. One time he caught one and put it in his mouth. I had to pull it out.
Starting point is 00:14:51 Yes. So Star Nose Mole. My dog just ate one, actually, the other night. I did not. I could have gone without having that information in my life. Ray, how about you, Ray? Let her talk. I thought she's forgot about Ray because he's behind us.
Starting point is 00:15:04 For me, a bobcat. I've always been fascinated with him ever since I was a kid. I did book reports and stuff on. on them. They're closest to a cat, so that's why I go Bobcat. Bobcat. Oh, wait, wait, I got a different one that I really like. The woodpecker, those are pretty cool. When you hear them in the neighbor going, that's pretty neat.
Starting point is 00:15:20 And a roadrunner, because you never see them. Okay. Because they go, beep beep, me, me. Well, you got like 50 from lunchbox. My favorite is a leopard. So that's very short, sweet, and simple. We're going to keep moving on. I want to hear your drink of choice.
Starting point is 00:15:34 It could be an alcoholic beverage. It could be like water. I don't know. Let's just get a little interesting. Your drink of choice. if that's the only thing you could have for the rest of your life. Me first.
Starting point is 00:15:44 I'm going to just, this is weird because I'd normally go alcoholic beverage, but I'm going to go Dr. Pepper. Dr. Pepper. Okay. Nice, sugary filled pop drink. Okay. Lunchbox?
Starting point is 00:15:54 Well, if I'm going to have to drink this for the rest of my life and it's the only drink, it's got to be water because you're going to die without it. Like, Eddie's dead because he had Dr. Pepper for the rest of it. No, I won't die. I'll just have diabetes for a long time. She said if this is the only thing you're going to drink for the rest of your life, it has to be water.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Every answer has to have. You have to be water or you're all dead. Just move on. So I would go with water, but my choice for like I love is hot chocolate. It takes me back to my childhood. My dad and I would make hot chocolate. You like that in the summer? That's the only problem.
Starting point is 00:16:22 I don't drink it in the summer. So it's a hard question. These aren't meant to be technical. It's just like, you know, like generically. Hillary, I was going to go with water, but it's not because of what lunch fox said. I just genuinely like water and only drink water. And fun fact about Hillary, she's like a fish. She can drink water like she's a literal fish.
Starting point is 00:16:40 I can. Like gallons of water. Like she can chug water? Eddie, wait your turn. You get Hillary to drink wine and she'll have a bottle finish and you're like, where did that whole bottle go in like 20 minutes? I can chug a drink. She's a fish. Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:53 Abby. It's going to be vanilla sweet cream cold brew from Starbucks. Whoa. Look at that order. Okay. Coffee. Is that exact coffee or non-caffeinated? Oh, it's very caffeinated.
Starting point is 00:17:05 Okay. All right. Skip a Steve. Mine, if you can find it, it's really hard to come by. but when it's there and it's in the machine and you can pull that tab it's, yeah, I think you'd like it, Eddie. It is a Dr. Pepper Slurpee from 7-Eleven.
Starting point is 00:17:19 Oh my God. I've never seen those. They're so hard to come by. They used to have one by my house and ban eyes. It'd only be there like seasonally and then it'd be long gone. I haven't seen one in probably three years. Have you ever seen a slurpee or had a slurpee
Starting point is 00:17:31 with Coke and cherry mixed together? Like cherry Coke, yeah. Yes. Yes. Those are good too. Those are also very limited as well. Yes. But you're dead because you don't have any more.
Starting point is 00:17:40 No, that's all ice. So technical. Raymondo, what's your choice? Give me a protein shake. What? A protein shake. Like a protein shake? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Do you have a preferable choice for protein? People ask me this all the time. You can go the most basic. You don't have to spend the big money at GNC unless they're a partner. I'd love to have you guys on board. But what you really just need is protein and then mix it with milk, mix it with whatever you want, have a good blender, but basically all protein is the exact same. All right, protein drink.
Starting point is 00:18:14 And then mine would be a margarita. Yeah. Why not? And you know what? If we're going on Lungebox's lifeline, I'm going to die first. You'll probably live the longest. Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:18:25 Our next question. Movie. If you could only watch one movie on repeat forever, what is that movie? We're going to swing back the other way. And I'm going to start with you, Raymond Doe. I've always been fascinated with. the beach. Leonardo DiCaprio and a bunch of no-name actors, probably one of his first movies, I think. Yeah, probably one of the worst movies of all time. All time. He goes to a tropical place.
Starting point is 00:18:51 I believe it is near China, Taiwan, those places. And it's an actual beach. And it just takes your mind away to that beach when you watch the movie. I could watch that movie day and day out. It's a pretty old movie, right? It really is. It's pretty terrible. I promise you, guys, if you're listening to this, do not watch it tonight. Do not sit down with the, you. you know, with your family and say, let's watch the beach because you are going to be sorely, and I mean sorely disappointed. I've never seen it so long. Thanks, Ray, for your recommendation.
Starting point is 00:19:19 We had that forced movie watching. I had to watch the beach from Ray, and it was awful. I mean, it's Leo, a young Leo. I couldn't hate that. Okay, then watch it and give me your review next week on this podcast. I'm scared. Okay, scuba. For me, I think this movie has the greatest twist to the end of it from 1995,
Starting point is 00:19:36 the usual suspects. Oh, good one. Wonderful. Dude, I was two years old. I've never heard of this movie. Oh, it's so good. Oh, you'll love it. Oh, you'll watch it.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Please this weekend. Yes, please watch it. It's got Kevin Spacey, Stephen Ball, went a bunch of other actors, Edward Norton, a lot of huge actors. It's all the usual suspects. The usual suspects, and it's got the biggest twist at the end. I won't say anything. It's a great movie.
Starting point is 00:19:58 It's amazing. It's a great. It's very well written, very well produced, cinematic. Everything is great. It's good. Okay. No, no, no, no. It's not black and white or anything.
Starting point is 00:20:06 No, no, it's not any type style. No, I love those. This is legit. It's like the same era of like home alone. So please watch it. Okay. I will, I will. So you have two movies to watch this week.
Starting point is 00:20:14 I know. I'm adding him over here. Abby, what's yours? Oh my gosh. This one's so funny. Happy Gilmore. Oh,
Starting point is 00:20:19 yeah. Yeah. Yeah, everyone. Are you, I mean, I assume that means you're a big Adam Sandler fan. Yeah, he's awesome. I love him. All right. That's enough.
Starting point is 00:20:28 I think everybody's seen Happy Gilmore, right? The price is wrong. Hillary hasn't seen Happy Gilmore. I am not. There's Hillary's homework. She has to watch Happy Gilmore. Hillary. Wow.
Starting point is 00:20:38 Hillary, you need to start living. And then you're going to come in and start saying, get in the hole, boy! Go to your home. It's a good one. Okay, Hill, what's yours? Lane's really depressing, the notebook. That's my favorite movie. I mean, it's a great romantic movie.
Starting point is 00:20:54 But you do cry. Yeah, why would you want to watch that? It's beautiful. I love that movie so much. It's my favorite movie. Okay. I mean, yeah. We know what Hillary's going to be doing for Valentine's weekend this weekend.
Starting point is 00:21:06 Crying. Yep, alone. Watching notebook. Lunchbox, what's yours? Man, first in the movie that jumped in my head was Forrest Gump, but then I decided that's not it. Okay. I would have to say,
Starting point is 00:21:18 my top three are. What, Eddie? I can't choose between these 20 movies. This is kind of like never have I ever lunchbox. You just kind of choose one and you just move on. Yeah, well, you don't give me enough time to think. There's a lot of movies that I've seen in my life, so I'll go with old school.
Starting point is 00:21:33 It's funny. It's a good one, yeah. It's enjoyable. It makes me laugh, and I like to laugh. What's the big actor in that one? Will Ferrell. Okay. Luke or Luke Wilson, which one is the guy?
Starting point is 00:21:44 I don't know. The blonde is Luke. He has the big curly hair in that, right? In that movie? Yeah. Okay. I think I've seen that. Snoop, Snoop a loop.
Starting point is 00:21:52 And Vince Vaughn. Oh, yeah. Snoop Dogg has a cameo in the beginning. It's great. Okay. All right. Eddie? Oh, I have to go for us.
Starting point is 00:21:58 Gump. See? I'll copy me. No, that's my favorite movie of all time. It's almost, what, three hours long. It's definitely a movie that I can watch over. and over. You realize I said Forrest Gump just because I knew he was going to say it just to make him
Starting point is 00:22:11 mad. Nice, thank you. I didn't get mad, though. Oh, you did. You went, well, but to be fair, I'm pretty sure everybody knew Eddie was going to choose something Tom Hanks. Yeah, for sure. I don't think anybody in the room would have thought different.
Starting point is 00:22:21 I just watched Turner and Hooch too the other day. That's the good one. I forgot about that. Yeah. I haven't seen that. What about you, M2? Sweet Home Alabama. That's the best rom-com there is out there.
Starting point is 00:22:31 That was going to be my number two. Mm-hmm. And I don't think, I think none of the guys have seen it. Have any of the guys seen that? I've seen bits and pieces of it. It's never the whole thing. It's been here a lot of it. It's where that guy goes away and he comes back.
Starting point is 00:22:46 No. Or she comes back. While you were sleeping. She got divorced and she comes back and meets her in the big city to the small town. Wait a minute. Is she working a diner? No. She was a big city fashion designer and she goes back home to meet her first love and it's a whole thing.
Starting point is 00:23:02 Then she has to choose between two men and it's just the characters and like the one-liner. from that movie, like stand the test of time. Ray, have you seen Sweet Home Alabama? I probably have with an ex-girlfriend paid half attention. But that was before you were married, though, right? Before he was married. Okay. Well, we're going to do one more here, and then we'll wrap it up.
Starting point is 00:23:23 Yeah, and then Sweet Home Alabama? Yeah, we just had that whole. My bad. Okay. If you guys had to bring one thing to a potluck with all of us, what is the one thing you will be cooking? We're going back the other direction. Eddie, you're starting out.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Fahita tacos. And you can go to Caitlin's on Fancy Cooking. That's where I show you how to cook them. Shameless plug. No, that's my dish. That's my dish, boys. Like, that's what I cook. That's what I think I cook the best.
Starting point is 00:23:50 Okay. Yeah. I believe you. I mean, I think we've had your fajitas at like a barbecue one time. You didn't say it right. You didn't say it right. She can say them however she wants. Fahitas.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Okay. Lunchbox. Lunchbox? Blue apron. SpaghettiOs. Spaghettios? With pepper and parmesan cheese to die for. Crush it every time.
Starting point is 00:24:14 What in the actual hell, Coach? So you just put the can, it's out of the can and then pepper and cheese add it? That's it. Yeah. You'll never eat it differently. You'll go back and be like, wow, that was amazing. You'll think you've had SpaghettiOs before
Starting point is 00:24:27 and then you put the pepper and the Parmesan cheese and you'll be like, kid, that's beautiful. No teeth taught me how to make those. feel uncomfortable. You know, you know, when coronavirus started and we were going to the grocery stores and we were like trying to get anything we can canned food, I bought a huge can of spaghettios and it's still there and I won't even touch it. So maybe you need to give it to lunchbox, clearly. Put a little pepper and cheese on that? Look, I just don't know what I would cook you guys.
Starting point is 00:24:54 I'm not very good in the kitchen. Okay. Well, SpaghettiOs could be interesting. My wife usually does the cook. Okay. Where she belongs, right? We're going to move very quickly. Hillary, I feel like this is a hard decision,
Starting point is 00:25:10 but I'm going to go with chocolate chip cookies from scratch because everybody likes the good chocolate chip cookies, so I feel like they'd be gone. This is true. Does anybody not like chocolate chip cookies? Okay, Abby. Okay, can you tell them what your favorite cookie is because it's still so bizarre to me that this is my favorite cookie?
Starting point is 00:25:25 If she says sugar cookie, I'm going to throw up. No, go ahead. Go, Abby. Oh, that's good. I love other one. Yeah, great. Good, but like a little bit. bizarre. My last choice. Because like
Starting point is 00:25:35 trail mix, everybody hates on the raisins. So like you having oatmeal raisin as a favorite cookie is a little weird. So that's why I think it's weird. I'm here to put like chocolate in like a cake type. Yeah, hey so Abby, you got to get on that mic so people can hear you. Can you hear me? She's like standing there. She's right there. She just doesn't want to hang out in the mic. I don't have headphones. I don't know what I sound like. I'll give you a hint. When you start talking closer and then you back away,
Starting point is 00:26:01 It sounds like that. Okay. Well, we're getting lessons in radio right now, too, as well. Abby, what would you cook for us? I would cook lasagna. It's my mom's recipe. My mom's recipe of lasagna, and it's really good. You can't go wrong with lasagna.
Starting point is 00:26:18 What's in the lasagna? Noodles, cheese, and sauce, and cottage cheese. There's no meat? You don't put meat in yours? Yeah, there's meat. Okay, cool. All right. We do ground beef.
Starting point is 00:26:28 We're getting there. Okay. A little bit. You know what maybe? No, I wouldn't do that. No, I wouldn't do that. You can keep thinking. We can come back to you lunch. Scooba. For me, I'm also, like, Hillary's Scratch cookmaker, so for me, I would make. Look at me. I'm really good at cooking. I can do it. Italian dishes, whatever. But in particular, I would go to the store, get some gruea cheese and some other kinds of cheeses and make you a macaroni and cheese. Oh, those are good. Make it right now. Yeah. We're talking about it and do it. Sounds really good.
Starting point is 00:27:02 We have quiet those smorgasbord going on with our foods. Ray, what would you bring? Everybody that knows me knows I love cassidias. And I learned during the pandemic how to actually make them and make them well. I can either put it in the air fryer or I can just make it over the open fire. I'm very, very good at casadillas. Different cheeses, normal shell. My name's Ray Mundo.
Starting point is 00:27:23 I'm good with stuff like that, casadillas. Okay, all right. Eddie, how do you feel about that? Stupid. Ray, do you ever use Scuba's cheese? What kind of cheese? Gere cheese?
Starting point is 00:27:34 No, dude, hand me some of that. Yeah, it's really good. It has like a little pungent smell to it. Not like blue cheese kind, but it definitely cuts through and it's really good.
Starting point is 00:27:42 I always said that was rare. How come you guys make fun of spaghetti? But casadias... He's cooking something. He doesn't even cooking crap. He's throwing cheese in between two tortillas with some chicken on it
Starting point is 00:27:51 and hey, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's not true. You can add so much to casadios. You're taking something out of a can and putting it in a bowl. I mean, goodness. Oh, he's adding pepper
Starting point is 00:27:59 and cheese to it. Exactly. He never said chicken casadias. He said cassidias. Do you want to change yours now, lunchbox?
Starting point is 00:28:05 Yeah, I'll make you guys a T-bone. No, I mean, I couldn't make you bubble bread. What's bubble bread? It's only for Christmas
Starting point is 00:28:16 though, right? We have it two times a year. Thanksgiving morning and Christmas morning. Thanksgiving morning, too? I don't know what bubble bread is. What is that? Oh, bubble bread.
Starting point is 00:28:25 It's like monkey bread, isn't it? Kind of. Don't disgrace it. I don't know what monkey bread is. You get dough and you can make the dough from scratch. My grandma would. She has the recipe in her cookbook.
Starting point is 00:28:37 You roll these balls and you put them in butter and cinnamon sugar, let it raise and put in the oven. Oh, my gosh. It's monkey bread. It's called bubble bread. Okay, bubble bread, monkey bread. I'm game with you bringing that. Oh, it is. You know how to make it?
Starting point is 00:28:51 Yep. All right. What about you? What are you going to make us? Vegetarian burgers? Okay, no. I'm really, really good at dips. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:59 And there's one dip that I always make that everybody loves. Copenhagen. Not tobacco dip. Winter green. That's the good stuff. Long cut. It's not even that funny. Why are we all laughing?
Starting point is 00:29:14 I don't know. So stupid. Because it is stupid. Because mine wins a dip. I know. Copenhagen. That's the last place my mind went. Anyways.
Starting point is 00:29:25 I thought Debbie was a sponsor. It is a dip for my college town, Manhattan, Kansas. It's a Mexican restaurant. but it's called, it's a raspberry black bean dip, and it is to die for it. Dang, okay. So I would bring up. Like actual raspberries mixed with black beans? There's raspberry chipotle sauce.
Starting point is 00:29:43 I did a food roll at home on this, right? And people like made it for everyone, and there's not a bad review on this dip. But there's raspberry chiple sauce, black beans, cream cheese, and some jack cheese. And then you bake it all, oh, it's bomb. And if you like onions, you can throw sauteed onions, but some of my friends don't like onions. That's like a hit or miss one. but it's bomb.
Starting point is 00:30:02 That raspberry sauce, you're talking about, the Chippolei raspberry sauce, that's really good. Yeah. We had some of that at the... Morgan number two's? No, no, no, it comes in a jar.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Like, you don't make it yourself. Yeah, it's just like a saw. It's something that people would put on meat and it has a rub. Boom, there you go. Yeah. We had it at Christmas. Do you want to put that in your SpaghettiOs? No.
Starting point is 00:30:21 You don't mess with perfection. I have SpaghettiOs down and there's nothing you can add to it that's going to make it better. Well, this was really fun. I appreciate y'all hanging out. I mean, this was like, honestly, y'all, this is what it's like in the studio after the show. This is the kind of stuff we talk about. You guys wanted to see like behind the scenes. This is as behind the scenes as it gets.
Starting point is 00:30:42 These are the conversations that we have with each other after the show. Y'all can confirm that. A lot of weird conversations happening. Actual. Yes. So thank you all for hanging out with me. But now y'all can listen to this week when we talked about our favorite breakfast foods. Number six.
Starting point is 00:30:58 All right, pound for pound. The best breakfast. is talking about one breakfast entree. We're just talking about food world with Morgan. And with me, it is, there's not even a close second that it's biscuits and gravy. There's just not even a close second. Terrible choice. No, biscuits with white gravy, sausage gravy, like my grandma would make that.
Starting point is 00:31:20 And still to this day, if I get to just go and have whatever I want, that's what it is. It's biscuits and sausage gravy. So it's nostalgic for you, maybe. Yeah. But isn't that why we like anything? Yeah, I feel like mine is too, so that's, no, I don't hate you for it. So, biscuits and gravy, Eddie? Oh, dude, biscuits and gravy.
Starting point is 00:31:39 You need sugar in your breakfast. Like, this is what you need. And mine is French toast. To me, that cinemey French toast with powdered sugar on it. And then the ball of butter, give me, and syrup? Oh, my goodness. Eddie's just adding in gummy bears? No, who puts syrup on their?
Starting point is 00:31:55 French toast? Yeah. Oh, everybody. Yeah, for sure. Powdered sugar only. Oh. I love food. French toast. I don't put it up there with
Starting point is 00:32:02 biscuits and gravy. Not really? Especially with sausage in the gravy? I go with Bobby's breakfast over that for sure. Yeah. What is yours? Mine is Wavo Srenteros. Oh, wow. Amy, come on. Not really for me. What? No. I would pick that 10th or 11. You don't like wibbles in chibers? 10th or 11? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:18 I would go pancakes, waffles, French toast, cinnamon toast crunch. It's a cereal. All of that before that. Man, have you not been eating them directly? Okay, yeah. And your dad probably made a really good one.
Starting point is 00:32:32 Yeah, he did. Lunchparks? It's easy, guys. You get savory, you get sweet, you get delicious, chicken and waffles. Chicken? For me, that's at lunch or dinner. More than a breakfast. Oh, I get it at breakfast.
Starting point is 00:32:43 And when it's on the menu, it's like, oh, my gosh, they have chicken and waffles. What a surprise. And I never learned about it until a couple years ago. And it's amazing. Yeah, chicken waffles. It's good. It's good. Ramundo, what is yours?
Starting point is 00:32:53 Yeah, avocado toast with eggs, kind of like the Wayvos Rancheros, a little bit. You're such a millennial. Okay, hippie. I mean, it's... That's the thing, just because it has the egg on it, but it's a very good mixture of it all. I eat it a bit. Caitlin's, that's her breakfast that she makes all the time. But I didn't think old green juice over there would come up with that.
Starting point is 00:33:13 Dang. Morgan, what about you? Definitely chocolate chip pancakes. Yeah. That is 100% my go-to if I am not counting calories. By the way, let me say this. None of these are bad. We're all hating on each others.
Starting point is 00:33:24 They're all good. They're all good. But we all were a bit different. And we went to a song a minute ago and everyone's like, don't pick mine. Yeah. Well, I thought Eddie, I was nervous because I thought he might go. Nice. Amy, he's not going to go that.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Come on now. You know that. No, I totally pictured Eddie being like, Whatabos rancheros. Yeah, I would have said it right. Wevos rancheros. However, I'll say this about Eddie, and you can see this in Kayla, my fiancee's new unfancy cooking. The whole time Eddie's doing the video is called on fajezas.
Starting point is 00:33:52 Oh my gosh. And then on the tortilla. He's overly enunciating. But Kayla catches him like halfway in the video being, okay. So take your fake he does. And she goes, you didn't say it the way you always say it. She did bust me on that. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:34:05 I was like edit, edit. Edit. She didn't edit it out. She didn't edit it out. So, all right, there you go. Nice job, though. And just to clarify, too, because there are people that do really say it that way, and we're not making fun of that at all. It's only Eddie because it's every once in a while he throws in this one word that sounds like he's really trying. It's the best bits of the week with Morgan number two.
Starting point is 00:34:29 Another week means we brought on even more incredible guests. And this week we had on Kelsey Ballerini. Not only did she perform several of her hits, she also talked about each hit through her career, what they meant to her. And she gave us her opinion on social media and Instagram comments and basically why she is no longer allowing comments on her Instagram page.
Starting point is 00:34:52 And I'm going to be honest. I totally agree with her. I think everything she said makes sense coming from a digital director, that's me. Social media is a hard place to be in sometimes, especially right now. So you'll want to listen to this, hear her perform, and hear her thoughts. It's really fun. Number five.
Starting point is 00:35:09 On the Bobby Bones Show now. Kelsey Bellarini. Kelsey, how are you? I'm good. It's really good to see you. Good to see you too. I was watching, maybe it's your Instagram, and you went into your closet and you have so many shoes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:24 So many shoes. So many shoes. Do you buy all those shoes? I don't. Okay. I don't. I keep them from like music videos or like red carpets or tour or whatever. I get to keep them all.
Starting point is 00:35:36 So if someone gives you shoes, do you mostly get to keep them or do you have to send them back if they're really fancy? If they're really fancy, normally I send them back or I'm like, I have to have these shoes and then I see if I can buy them. What about jewelry? Do you ever get loaned jewelry? I'm not a jewelry person actually, which is funny because I have some on right now, but this is like $5 from Clairs. Like, I'm not a jewelry person. The only actual joy I wear is my wedding ring. Even for award shows.
Starting point is 00:36:00 You're not like, I need the $5 million diamond. No, I also don't like the idea of being responsible for that amount of money on my body. So, yeah, no, I'm not into that. Well, let me ask you this, because this is my concern. Do you ever post pictures of your closet, per se? Okay. And go, man, somebody could be maffing out my house. And they've created this and they can come in and rob.
Starting point is 00:36:23 I'm scared to death of that. Well, now I'm going to start thinking that. Well, it's interesting because we just move from an apartment to a house. So that adjustment, like the first month or so, hearing something in the backyard, it's just the wind, but I'm used to the interstate, you know? So every little thing has been, it's taking, getting used to it for sure. But now I'm going to start thinking about people knowing where I live. Well, I didn't mean to plant that seed. How is the dog, how's dives with the house?
Starting point is 00:36:48 He's good. I didn't realize how much poor, like, little puppy anxiety he had from, he hates dogs. He got attacked at a dog park when he was like a little puppy. So all the dogs in the hallway to get down to the ground where he like could use the bathroom. It was just he was anxious all the time and I felt so bad. So he's he's a happy boy now. I will say though last night he woke us up at like 1 a.m. Like sounded like something was terribly wrong.
Starting point is 00:37:14 He found himself in the mirror at 1 a.m. For real. We turned on the lights and he was like tail tucked tackles up just like looking at himself in the mirror. And Morgan and I were like this dog. has lost his mind. My dog does that too, and he doesn't even get it. He still does it. Like the eighth time.
Starting point is 00:37:28 He still thinks there's something in the mirror. Sweet Morgan got on the ground with him, touched the mirror with them, touched his face, then touched the mirror. I was like, I'm going back to sleep. This is too much. I saw where Morgan Evans, your husband, was in his comments and people thought that he was Morgan Walling. It happens all the time.
Starting point is 00:37:44 People have said it to his face. They're like, hey, man, I love your new record or whatever. And he's just like, he rolls with it. He's so easy going. Kelsey Ballerini is here. And we're going to get to hole in the bottom. in a second, which a big week for the song going number one, which is great. Hopefully, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:58 Yeah, congratulations. Thanks. And so we'll get to that part of your life. But they sent me a note and said, hey, Kelsey's coming in. Do you want her to play anything? And I was like, well, why don't we kind of walk through the career of Kelsey Ballerini, which it all started with Love Me Like You Mean It. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:13 Which feels like. Forever. Ages ago. I know, I know. We were like touring together back in that day. Before you were even tour. I just remember sitting in the parking garage with you. You weren't, it didn't have an artist deal yet.
Starting point is 00:38:25 You were riding. Yep, you're right. I know. I was like, I got this song. And then boom, it's just crazy to think here you are now, the superstar that you are. And we were literally sitting under a tent in the parking garage going, dang. Six years ago. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:37 Like five and a half maybe. Does it feel like that's flown by or does it feel like that's just forever ago? It's both. It depends on the day. I will say this whole last year, I think I've had obviously more time to reflect than I have since I started. And so I think it's starting to kind of sink in what's happened. Because before I was just like, going to keep my head down and keep going until someone tells me to stop, you know, or it just
Starting point is 00:38:58 stops itself. And so, yeah, I think having this last year to kind of, you know, put my head up and look around and be like, wow, this is not what it was like six years ago. This is crazy. And especially now having another song kind of do what it's doing. It's, it's really exciting. Okay. Give me a little. I don't need the whole thing of Love Me Like You Mean It. I wish I had some exciting story about this song. I was signed as a songwriter. I was 19 and I was just trying to figure out what I was doing and like how to get a record deal. And I was writing kind of like the dibs kind of songs at the time. And I was writing like three times a day. And at this particular day, I'd already done two sessions. It was at night. And me and my songwriter friends just ordered
Starting point is 00:39:40 pizza into the publishing house I was at at the time. And we wrote, Love Me Like You Mean It. And immediately I was like, it's hooky. I really like this. It's kind of that fun, flirty, poppy feel too. And And then it ended up being the song that kind of got me the record deal and solidified a sound that I'm still trying to, you know, make happen. All right. Here we go. Kelsey Ballerani, everybody. All right. Oh, hey, boy with your hat back, am I kind of like that if you want to walk my way. I'm going to shoot you straight up. Show me what you made of. I don't have time to waste on the boys that are playing the games, leaving the girls crying out in the rain.
Starting point is 00:40:33 So tell me, baby, do you guy what it takes? If you're going to hold me, hold me like I'm leaving. You're going to kiss me, kiss me like you need it. Baby, if you're not your best kid to leave in. Love me like you mean it. Have you going to talk to talk, you better want me, kidding me like you lost it. You're going to say you're made. If you're going to love me, boy, love me like you mean.
Starting point is 00:41:09 And it takes it down. Memory Lane right there. Come on. Kelsey Ballerini is here. You know, you're talking about being a teenager. Like Gabby Barrett's kind of going through this now. You know, I was working with her when she was 17 on American Idol. And now she has a massive hit.
Starting point is 00:41:22 But what do you say to someone like Gabby who's like, all right, I'm 19. I got a hit. Like, what in the world do I do now? I keep your head down. I mean, I always say like the greatest gift I had was naivity. And it was, you know, I didn't know that it was more difficult for females. I didn't know that, you know, being on an individual. independent label or being younger, any of that made it harder. I just kept my head down and worked
Starting point is 00:41:47 really, really hard and did as many shows as I could and wrote as many songs as I could and just hoped that it would last. And I think that was like the greatest gift in the world for me. I saw on your Instagram, at least for a while, are your comments still disabled? Yeah. Why? I'm super sensitive and I think that's a good thing. And I think for a long time, I was reading all the comments and I would obviously like love the good ones, but I would find the bad ones and then they would just like hurt my feelings and I didn't want to get to a point where I was not posting and not sharing my life because I really like to be that person that's an oversharer. I think it's relatable and girls need to see that.
Starting point is 00:42:23 And so yeah, I was like it's either me not sharing or me sharing and not caring about what people say. And so I just turned them off for a lot. I commend you for that. Thanks. And I'm, you know, you're not going to believe this enough, but I've never been a girl, right? What? But I watch what Kayla, my fiancee goes through.
Starting point is 00:42:38 Yeah, it's brutal. People are so mean to her. Yeah, yeah, yeah. about her appearance, her body, about just anything where she disabled hers. And then she said, you know what? I can actually just let my people I follow comment. So there's an option which, and now she's gone, there's also a way that you can, you already know this, but I'm just talking about because it's a struggle that I've never
Starting point is 00:42:58 seen because I've never been a woman. Again, hard to believe. Yeah, but guys go through this too. Yeah, but me, I'm like, shut up. Right. You guys don't get as much about your appearance though. Yeah, yeah. I don't get body shame that much.
Starting point is 00:43:11 But there's a way to also eliminate certain words from your Instagram. Oh, really? Mm-hmm. Where she went through and was like, because people call her the same stuff over and over again. So she went through and it's a weird. It was a weird time for us too to pick all the words people say about her and go like, put this in there. Man. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Put gold digger in there, you know? Because people hit her and it's not fair. It's not fair. Smart girl, master's degree, got her own. Everything's rocking, but people are not fair. Yep. But when I saw you did that, I was like, good for Kelsey because I know that had to be tough to do because you were also going to get push back on doing that. Yeah. Yeah, it just is what it is. It's a personal decision, you know. And I don't know.
Starting point is 00:43:46 I think, again, this last year, we've had all this time to kind of marinate with our own feelings and what we need and what we want and all that stuff. And I'm just like, I think boundaries are healthy and that's a new boundary out for myself. You know the song I really like of yours is I hate love songs. I love that you pick this song. It's so random that you pick this song. And it's, even when I was thinking, I was like, what are my favorite songs from Kelsey and have a lot of them because your sound has definitely gotten more mature as you've gotten more mature, obviously. Yeah, yeah. But I really liked the song because I felt like it, even on that record, it was a bit
Starting point is 00:44:14 different. Yeah, it was a waltz. Yeah. I mean, I really like to kind of zigzag with singles and coming off of legends, which kind of felt like classic and almost like cinematic. I wanted to try something that felt different. And that was, I love songs. It was a waltz.
Starting point is 00:44:31 And then I knew we were going to pivot to miss me more after. So I don't know. I like kind of just showing the full spectrum. of the album that I've made with the singles that we choose. And this one was definitely a choice that I'm really proud of. I'm going to have you play just a voice and a course of this, but I'm going to get up in waltz while she's playing it. Actually literally do the waltz.
Starting point is 00:44:47 Okay. Practice for your wedding. Right here is Kelsey Valerini. I hate Shakespeare and gosling and cakes with white frosting, two names and a heart-shaped tattoo. I think Cupid is stupid and violets are purple-noblo. I hate kitchen boc. The honeymoon face
Starting point is 00:45:18 And letterman jackets don't fit Your eyes can't hold stars And you die if your heart Really skipped Love songs But I love the song There she is Kelsey Malaria I tried to watch some Bridgerton
Starting point is 00:46:04 Yeah Caitlin liked it She watched it I couldn't get into it And I know Netflix said it was the biggest show they've ever had and I can do chick flick type shows. I just struggle with Bridgeton. Yeah, I mean, I normally don't get into like period pieces,
Starting point is 00:46:20 and so I was kind of turned off by the idea of it, and it took me a couple episodes to get in, but all my friends, I'm on a group chat with all my girlfriends, and they were like, dude, stick with it. And I was like, okay, but I did not make Morgan try it because I feel like he would have felt the same as you, just not into it. So we stopped me trying on that show.
Starting point is 00:46:36 Now we watch Kids Baking Championships, which is the greatest show I've ever seen. You ever watched that show? I haven't. I haven't. But I have a new absolute infatuation in the kitchen. Like, I love cooking and baking and stuff. So that's a good one to try.
Starting point is 00:46:49 If a kid can do it, maybe I can. No, these kids are amazing. Okay. Yeah, it's not even if a kid can do it. In that case, I'm going to stick to singing. It's like watching like an 11-year-old that goes to Harvard. And you're like, well, if he can go to Harvard, I can know. No, no, some people are just different, even at 11 years old.
Starting point is 00:47:01 Yeah. Kelsey Ballerini is here. This week, hole in the bottle is going for number one, which we're rooting for it. We're going to help it, obviously. we're going to get there in a second. I know you guys are playing some songs for us. How about a little of Homecoming Queen and kind of set that up for me?
Starting point is 00:47:15 Yeah. Well, this was, like I was saying earlier, I loved to zigzag with singles and this kind of felt like the perfect next step after Miss Me More and the perfect first step of this, you know, album. I really went through this kind of like personal journey of figuring out who I was at 20-something
Starting point is 00:47:31 with Kelsey the album. And I wanted it to feel like when you were listening to it top to bottom, you were on that journey with me and it was vulnerable and it was super honest and it was awkward and I wanted to share all of that and Homecoming was the first song that kind of made me go down that path and it's my favorite single I've ever released to be honest with you wow do you know what I like about that answer is most artists will come in and go you know what this single I put out just now is my favorite and my most personal it's okay to have one of your earlier ones be that and this
Starting point is 00:48:00 wasn't my biggest hit at all you know but it's just it's it's it was important to me and it was the right song at the right time for me. This didn't go number one? No, it went like, I think it went 17. Let me look at your number ones. Miss me more. Yeah. Love me like you mean it.
Starting point is 00:48:13 Yeah. Dibbs. Yep. Peter Pan. Yes. Legends. Yes. You know what?
Starting point is 00:48:16 I would have lost money on that. Really? That song, not only is the song that I know, but even just the question mark on the the back side of it is so memorable. I sent you a mug. Did you get it? Oh, it's the best mug ever. Do you have it?
Starting point is 00:48:28 Yes. Because when you put hot coffee in it, you see Kelsey Valerini. She shows up. It's just the question mark. But I see that whenever I wipe my window down, she's outside the house, usually looking in. She shows up. Wait, but how do you say,
Starting point is 00:48:39 because that's been the thing, like if we play it on women and by her country, I'm always, every time I read it and then I see the question mark, I'm like, here's Kelsey Ballerini. Homecoming Queen? I can't help, but go up. So, however you want to say it, it's fine.
Starting point is 00:48:53 It's like Anchorman. Yeah. All right, let's hear a little bit of Homecoming Queen from Kelsey Ballerini. All right. Queen why do you lie when somebody's mean where do you hide do people assume you're always all right been so good at smiling most of your life look damn good in the dress zipping up the mess dancing with your best foot for does it get hard to have to play the part nobody's
Starting point is 00:49:37 feeling sorry for you But what if I told you the world wouldn't end If you started showing the Sunday's skin What if you let them all in on the lie Even the homecoming queen cries Yeah what if I told you the sky wouldn't fall If you lost your composure Said to hell with it all
Starting point is 00:50:05 Not everything pretty sparkles and shines And even the homecoming queen cries Nice, Kelsey Ballerina Live at the studio Well Thanks Where do I go from here?
Starting point is 00:50:26 And that you said Was healthy your word of the year? Yeah Healthy? What does that mean to you? Oh God, all of the things I feel like last year I was just kind of like
Starting point is 00:50:36 Whatever to get in the name of getting through it You know? So I was just like, driving through Chick-fil-A a couple times a week and probably drinking too much wine. And yeah, I don't know. I just, I want to hold myself accountable. I want to be able to, like, feel great and live the life that I want to live. And that's, like, mentally and physically and all that.
Starting point is 00:50:55 So I'm just taking care of myself. Do you remember the last crowd you played to? I think it was CRS for, like, Amazon. Last year. Last year. Yeah. It might have even been before CRS. Yeah, so it was like an industry crowd for, and it was the first time.
Starting point is 00:51:10 time I played hole in the bottle. It wasn't released yet. And it was the last time I also played hole in the bottle to the people. Isn't that crazy? But it's almost time, you know? We're starting to kind of red the engines a little bit. I feel that. I feel that. It's starting to feel like we'll figure it out this year. So, fingers crossed. I'm ready when
Starting point is 00:51:26 it's safe. Well, so obviously I'm getting married this summer. I expect you're going to be there. You'll get the invitation and all that. But with the band, what song should they know? So when you get up there to play during the reception, you're ready to go. Well, it's funny. Like, With hole in the bottle, it was the last song I made, wrote for the record.
Starting point is 00:51:44 And like I was saying earlier, I wanted this whole record to be like very emotional and like, oh, she's growing up like you were saying. And then we wrote a hole in the bottle as a drunken joke and listened to it back. And I was like, this is the song to round out the album. This is the song for the live show. Like, I put it on the album to play it live. Like, that was the whole point of it. And then last year, it just seemed like the perfect song.
Starting point is 00:52:04 And even now, obviously, just because people still need an escape. They need to laugh. They need to feel light and happy. And this is like escapism in a song form. But I put it on the record to play it live. So again, back to the question. My wedding band, if they learn hole in the bottle, this is the song you want to get up at the reception and sing.
Starting point is 00:52:24 I'm not a big love songs person, a la, I hate love songs. So, yeah, I feel like this is what I can contribute. Okay, mark that down. Yeah. I'll bring you sparkling grape juice. Here it is. This week, this song is going for number one. Yes.
Starting point is 00:52:37 Here is Kelsey Ballerini with Hole in the bottle. It's his favorite guitar part to play. Ain't my fault, so don't blame me. I swear I just came here to one wine and have one drink the way it looks. Ain't what you think. This cabernet has a way of vanishing on me. There's a hole in the bottle leaking all this wine. It's already been suppertime.
Starting point is 00:53:26 Honey, no, I don't miss him. In fact, it's slip my mind. There's a hole in the bottle. They ask me where it's going, but I can't even find the hole in the bottle. Cheers. Nice. There it is. When you ask Shania to be on the song, do you do it?
Starting point is 00:53:50 Or are you so nervous? You have somebody do it in case she wants to say no. Every collaboration that's ever happened, it was me reaching out. I remember you said that about Kenny Chesson, you reached out? Yeah, yeah, I texted him. I have no business ever texting Kenny Destiny. But I just had like a, you know, I went on a whim. I was like, let's do it.
Starting point is 00:54:05 Yeah, I don't know. I feel like unless you feel like you can personally reach out, it's probably not the right collaboration. And you texted her and how long until you got the bubble back? Could you see the bubble? What's crazy about Shania? I haven't told this story yet, but early in quarantine, she emailed me. And she was like, hey, I'm working on a project.
Starting point is 00:54:21 I want to do something together. Let's just, let's send stuff back and forth until we find something. And so for like three or four months, She would send me a chorus. I would send her a chorus that I wrote. And we'd just kind of be like, that's not quite it. But like, let's keep digging and let's find something. And it wasn't until we shot the video for hole in the bottle.
Starting point is 00:54:37 A lot of the outfits I tried to kind of tip my hat to Shania, like the man, I felt like a woman and all that kind of stuff. So I watched the video back and I was like, wait a second. This song, it's her vibe anyway. It's like, you know, fun and kitsy. Like I just text or I emailed her. And I was like, what about this? It's already out. I kind of, you know, tribute you in the video.
Starting point is 00:54:56 Are you down? She was like, yeah. And we've had lots of wine together, Shanaa and I, so it made sense. So here's what I heard in that story. Great story, but I heard you told Shanaa, man, that's not it. That's what I heard. That she sent you something. And you said, nah, Shanae, that ain't it.
Starting point is 00:55:09 I'm really trying. I did. But she did, but she did. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I get her. She did. That's Shania.
Starting point is 00:55:15 I know. It's like Howard Stern. I'm like, nah, that ain't it. It's the cool part because we respect each other. And that's why it's such a fun collaboration. No, that's cool. She is the queen of all queens, though. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:24 Listen, good to see you. I'm proud of you. Thank you. Thank you. Tell your lovely husband, Morgan. I said hello. I will. Reed, great job. Why don't you play us out, which is that guitar part, a hole in the bottle. All right, everybody. Kelsey Bellini, everybody. We're out of here. Could he come do that everyday live? Doesn't it just make you want a lie? It's fine. Yeah. Go to Broadway. Go to Legends. I don't know. It's the best bits of the week with Morgan number two. We've been hearing for weeks about Bobby going out to film for his TV. show breaking Bobby Bones, but now we finally have a premiere date. Bobby announced it this week.
Starting point is 00:56:03 Not only that, he also shared the trailer with us. So you can listen back to Bobby talk about the premiere date, also the trailer. And make sure you go watch this video at Bobby Bones.com, because I'm telling you, it is really cool. And you guys are going to want to set your calendars for this show, which, by the way, Memorial Day. Just give you a little hint there. Number four. Finally, and I'll tell you a dumb, dumb story about me right after this. In personal news, I got to announce breaking Bobby Bones officially yesterday, my show on Nat Geo. And the trailer is up on my Instagram, Mr. Bobby Bones. First time you seen the trailer?
Starting point is 00:56:37 Yeah, I thought it was really good. It's pretty cool, huh? Yeah, Stasheera and I watched it together, and she was like, what is he doing to himself? Like, why is he putting himself through all of that? Well, the purpose was for me to have this show where I could go. And people are always like, man, it's people that you don't expect. They're everyday heroes. I'm like, no, this is the average American.
Starting point is 00:56:56 and everybody's got a hard story. We've all come from some kind of crap and got through it. And I wanted to highlight that. And I've come through a bunch of crap, and I got through it. And I'm proud of the crap I've come through. And so I go and I, one of the guys you see in the trailer is a guy who lost both of his legs fighting for our country. And now he's playing on the Paralympic Ice Hockey team. And I went, and you can see in this, I'm playing with the Paralympic Ice Hockey team, and they beat the crap out of me.
Starting point is 00:57:22 And so that was one episode. You see me kayaking with Lonnie who was shot in the face, lost his vision. He's a former military guy. And now he kayaks these crazy rivers. I'm trying to kayak a white one time I do it blindfolded. So there's a lot of stories. Those two are military people. There's another girl who, like, lived in her truck as she tried to get her license to be a diver.
Starting point is 00:57:50 But it's not a scuba diver. It's some crazy dive that I had to do with all this weight. So all this is up there. I can play you the trailer. It's only 60 seconds. But what you're not seeing is me doing all the crazy stuff in the trailer. But here you go. Somewhere out in the country, there's a man.
Starting point is 00:58:08 I'm Bobby. Doing good things for good people. Getting his ass handed to him in the process. Any dream is possible. That's what this whole adventure is about. You see, Bobby's got himself a mantra. Fight, grind, repeat. So whether he's in over his head.
Starting point is 00:58:26 Oh my God. Whoa, whoa, whoa. At the end of his rope. How you feeling there, Bobby? Oh, God. Or up a creek without a paddle. Bobby! He's not just going to walk a mile in their shoes.
Starting point is 00:58:39 He'll get him a brand spanking new pair when he's done. This is your own hat. No one deserves it more than you. You name it. He'll try it. Oh! Even if it breaks him. Bobby, Bones, they're trying to break you.
Starting point is 00:58:52 Oh, great. Breaking Bobby Bones, new series coming Memorial Day to National Geographic. Any tips on what kind of pain medicine I should take tonight? There you go. It's basically, they're trying to get me to tap out. Right. They put me through stuff, and I go through with some really fantastic people, and they're trying to get me to quit. Who is that voice? That's me.
Starting point is 00:59:14 No, no. No. They put a microphone in front of me, and they were like, can you give us something different? I was like, somewhere in the country. That's the part that makes me laugh. somewhere in the kitchen. No, I know where he is. He's in his bedroom most of the time.
Starting point is 00:59:27 Unless I'm doing this show. Unless he's doing the show. It's the best bits of the week with Morgan number two. During this week, we had a pretty hilarious segment. Lunchbox tried to pronounce difficult words. So I brought on Lunchbox because this man had to pronounce hard words. And you know what? Words are hard.
Starting point is 00:59:49 Okay, let's just throw that out there. They're very hard. No, no, no. They're very hard. I'd like they know every word in the dictionary. There's no freaking way you're supposed to know these words. Well, Lunchbox had to pronounce him for cash. And I mean, spoiler alert, he didn't do great.
Starting point is 01:00:05 You know, but I get at lunch. Words are hard. Have you had a hard time with words your entire life? Well, I don't even think I have a hard time with words. There's just certain big words that I don't know how to say. And maybe I've said them wrong my entire life. And so I just think that's how they're said. And so even though you show me a piece of paper with it written down,
Starting point is 01:00:23 I know how to say that word. You pronounce it different. That means my English teachers failed me because that's how they introduced me to the word. Well, you know, my sister's a speech pathologist. Did you ever see like a speech pathologist when you were younger? No shame in that. I'm just curious of you ever did. Did I see a speech pathologist?
Starting point is 01:00:39 Yeah, I probably saw one walking down the hall somewhere. But like you never like went to one. No, I had some friends that were speech pathologies. Pathologists. Pathologists. Yes. So no, I've never been to one that I would, you know, that I, I went because I couldn't speak words correctly.
Starting point is 01:00:57 Okay. So that sounded really good, didn't it? What about like spelling? Did you ever participate in like spelling bees or anything? Well, yeah, like in the class. I never made it out of the classroom around though because I didn't really study. I didn't try. I was.
Starting point is 01:01:07 So English spelling, those weren't necessarily. You know, I just didn't think, you know, I didn't want to be known as the kid that was good at spelling. Let's be real. I was trying to be good. The jump rope champion. So do you think that impacted you to not be as good with words now that you're trying to be cool? No, I still don't think I'm, I don't need words to be cool. My persona and my personality make me cool. Just because I don't know a few words, that doesn't make me uncool.
Starting point is 01:01:34 No, I think it makes me relatable. Like, do you watch the spelling be on ESPN? I don't. Do you ever watch that? Like I, but I do see videos and clips from it and these kids are super smart. Yeah, they're super smart, but do you think they, do they have any personality? Yeah. No. I mean, maybe. I mean, I watch them and they win. The confetti comes down and they sit. And they sit. get there and they just, they don't even move. They just like, huh, huh? They don't even know how to celebrate. Like, you know, like a normal person would be like, ah!
Starting point is 01:02:00 But they're like, win. W-I-N. They're just so creative and intelligent that they're thinking about their next win. Listen, they're really smart, but I just, I'm just saying, just because I can't spell or pronounce a couple words doesn't take away from who I am. You're right. And you know what? In this segment, I'll admit, you were 100% relatable because words are hard.
Starting point is 01:02:22 I'll say it again. Words are very hard. What's a word you can't say? I mean, we all know that. It's Italian. I pronounce it 100% wrong. Did you ever think about going to see a speech pathologist? No, but like it's just a few of them, you know, but also my sister every single day corrects my words, so I might as well be seeing a speech pathologist. Is that annoying? Is that annoying to have a sister that does that? No, because it's also like a sisterly love thing. She's just trolling me to troll me,
Starting point is 01:02:45 not that she actually cares to fix my English. It's like, you know, what I always do is whenever someone writes a lot, and they spell it A-L-O-T and they don't put a space. I always correct them. Oh, are you like the English guy on Twitter? No, I'm not. But it's just one of those ones that I learned way back when, and I just think it's funny that I still do it.
Starting point is 01:03:05 It's the only word I'll do it. Like, there I won't correct anybody because, hey, it happens. You're just not thinking you just write there and you just move on with your life. And I never proofread like Twitter and Instagram. People are like, oh, you misspelled this or you didn't say it. I don't proofread, guys. I just type and hit send. Boom, see you later.
Starting point is 01:03:20 Move on with my life. Don't have time to proofread. Proof reading is for weenies. I wouldn't go that far, but I do understand you're moving quickly on social media. Well, what do you think is the number one word you can't pronounce? Amblance. Can you say it one more time? Amblance.
Starting point is 01:03:34 One more time. Amblance. Okay. Have you ever tried to say it? If I go, ambulence, I can say it. Ambulance. If you just say it, though, it just doesn't roll. Like if you over enunciate, you can say it.
Starting point is 01:03:48 Ambulance. Ambulance. Can't do it. Ambulance. It just doesn't. It's just, I don't know. Yeah. That's a good one. I don't think anything will be ambulance. Also because it kind of sounds like your baby box speaking when you say that. Amlance. Like that's just, it's such a hard word. I don't understand why I can't say it. And maybe your speech pathologist sister could give me a diagnosis. Like, is it just something that got in my head as a young kid? Because when I slow down, I can say it. Ambulant. I'll be honest. From what she's told me, most of it has to do with dialect. like it could be something you growing up. No, my parents can say ambulance.
Starting point is 01:04:24 Oh. So my sister and brother can say ambulance. You just, you forgot a you somewhere along the way. Is that what it? Ambulance. Ambulance. Ambulance.
Starting point is 01:04:35 Because you're saying the B. You're just forgetting the you. Like what do you call this thing right here that I write with? A pen. No, it's a pen. Excuse me? It's not a pin. A pin is something you sew with.
Starting point is 01:04:44 A pen. Pen. Pen. I'm confused now. Say it again. Pen. No. A pin is something you sew with.
Starting point is 01:04:53 This is a pen. Spel it. Pin. Pin. How do you spell it? I'm so lost. No, no. Spell what I'm writing with. Spell it.
Starting point is 01:05:01 P-E-N. Okay, now say it. Pin. Pen. Am I say, okay, Scova's Stephen Eddie are sitting in here. Am I saying something weird? Yes. It's called a pen.
Starting point is 01:05:12 It's not a pin. One more time. Pen. Pen. It's a pen. It's not a pin. I didn't say pin. I said pen.
Starting point is 01:05:18 Pen. She said pin. My whole, like, I, my mind. But I think when you say it, like, because a pin isn't something you use very often, someone says, hey, grab me that pen, they're not going to throw like a needle at you. I know, but I'm just telling you, those are, I say pin also, but it's really pen. I feel like those are too similar that you can't, like that's, nobody's going to say crap about that. I mean, but you're right, pin pen.
Starting point is 01:05:44 Yes. But it doesn't, I don't think it matters. Like, no, she was saying dialect. Like, well, hold on. Her point was amboling. or ambulance, that's something totally different. That's, like, completely wrong and not even close. And, like, Italian is my dialect.
Starting point is 01:05:58 Like, my whole family literally says, I talk. It's like, what, Italian. I know. It's a dialect. Let's just imagine this for a minute. Let's imagine this. You go to see her sister who's a speech pathologist. And she's like, what is this?
Starting point is 01:06:10 And you say, Italian. And she says, no, it's Italian. No, she knows the correct version, but she knows that it's also our dialect. Like, you need to be paying me. Exactly. It's credited. There's a difference between dialect and you genuinely saying words incorrectly. Totally, yes.
Starting point is 01:06:27 Yeah. Like the ambulance example. That is 100% incorrect. Yeah. But like Italian is part of my dialect. I don't know. Wait. No.
Starting point is 01:06:36 It is. I'm not missing a letter or anything. Like in all of my family says it the same way, which means it's like based on where I live. So it's genetics. No, just based on where I live. We're explaining a whole lot of definitions here, and we got into the weeds. So we're going to rail this back in. Lunchbox.
Starting point is 01:06:58 Okay. Well, you know, thanks for coming on and giving us a little bit more backgrounds. Hey, what number am I? You're number three this week. Right in the middle. But to be fair, I think I'm on the metal stand. To be fair, coming up at number one, you are included in number one. You're just not by yourself.
Starting point is 01:07:14 No, I think we're good for today. All right. But it's been really fun. Thanks for joining us. Bye. All right. Well, there you have it. Lunchbox, here is him trying to pronounce some really difficult words for some cash. Number three. I've got five words on a piece of paper. I'm going to hold it up. Can Lunchbox pronounce it? That's the game. If he can, he wins $5 for every word he gets right. Wow. Okay. Okay, so we'll be able to hear the words. He can't. He has no headphones on. Play the first word, Raimundo.
Starting point is 01:07:43 Asa'i. Okay. Lunchbox, I'm holding it up. Play one more time, please. Asaii. You're seeing the word. How would you pronounce that? I know this one. Go ahead. I know this one. There's a smoothie shop by my house.
Starting point is 01:07:54 I used to get the bowls. A Kai bowls. But I need you to say the word like you would say. A Kai. A sai. They didn't sound the same to me, right? No. The word is assayi.
Starting point is 01:08:05 Oh, well, they don't correct me at the smoothie shop. Because probably a lot of people do it. I also used to call it an Akai bowl. But okay, number two. Can you pronounce? Oh, yeah, I know that one. Let me play it for everybody. Mischievous.
Starting point is 01:08:22 Okay. Mischievous. Can you pronounce that? Yeah, you want to know that one? Yeah. Mischievous. But that's not the answer. That's how I think.
Starting point is 01:08:32 How do you say that? It's mischievous. Really? I say mischievous. It's got to be the way this person. Yeah, that's got to be the rule. Yes, this is the official pronunciation. Mischievous.
Starting point is 01:08:42 Wow. Okay. Leaving money on the table, man. I'm learning three more shots here. Oh, this one's hard. Raymond, do play this one? niche also American niche Oh wow
Starting point is 01:08:53 Oh okay One more time Niche also American Nitch It's almost looks a little Spanish Nietzsche Nietz Nece
Starting point is 01:09:06 Nece Is that right Why would you think that was Spanish Just asking I don't know The E on the end Kind of throwing me all It just seems like Nietzsche, like you do the E.
Starting point is 01:09:21 What do you think that is? I don't know. What do you think a Nietzsche is? Something kind of an animal. Yeah, the wild Nietzsche. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. They're dangerous. I mean, it could be a rare animal that I've never heard of or seen.
Starting point is 01:09:34 Maybe it's in Africa. Or Mexico. Spanish. Your options would have been niche. Oh. Or what was the other one they offered? Niche. Nietz.
Starting point is 01:09:44 Niche. Niche. Niche. Niche. That's what throws me off. I hear people say it differently. See, okay, why have the E then if it's just niche? It's stupid.
Starting point is 01:09:54 Neesh. Okay. Yeah, that's stupid, man. I didn't talk to the person who created the word. No, they're stupid. You know what a niche is? It's like a small... It's a small segment.
Starting point is 01:10:04 Yeah, right. I've heard of that. Yeah, yeah. I don't know that's how it's spelled, though. Next up, as lunchbox tries to pronounce words. Affidavit. Oh, I know that one. All right?
Starting point is 01:10:14 Affidavit. What? Court word. Okay, go ahead. Affidavit. Again? Affidavit. Hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 01:10:21 We got two of these things. Let me hear the clip again. Affidavit. Say it? Affidavit. Oh, we can't. Do you see it, though? It looks the last letter.
Starting point is 01:10:32 Yeah, it's affidavit. Spell it. A-F-F-I-D-A-V-T. But how do you, that's how you say it. A-A-D-A-D-A-D. It's spelled with a T at the end. Yeah, but the last one was spelled with an E on the end, but you don't say the E.
Starting point is 01:10:49 So what am I supposed to do? But there's no D. You're putting in a D. There's no D. You call it an affidavit? That's what it's called. That's what the lady just said. And that's what she said in our ear.
Starting point is 01:10:59 How much money does he have? $0. How would you have said that? You would say affidavit. That's what I just said. No. Right. And you're reading it.
Starting point is 01:11:09 So I thought you would even say it. Yeah. We can't go over. No, because I've seen the word and I called an affidavit. Like when you go to court, you got to get an affidavit. Right in that. court word? I don't know what it means. What is it affidavit? It's like a document. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Court word. I'm sorry we can't give that one to me. But this one's worth $10.
Starting point is 01:11:30 Oh, yeah. All right. Let's go. Let's step up the game. He may get this one though because he knows it. Ray play it real quick. He's not getting that. You don't think so? No way. No, because even I mean, I can see the words of the paper and I know what it is. Okay, here you get. Ray played again, Please. Worcestershire. Oh, man. That's a tough one.
Starting point is 01:11:49 Walk this one out. Ah, well. W-R-C-E-S-T-R-S-H-H-H-I-H-I-E. It's a sauce. Yeah? I call it Worcester sauce. Warchester. Warchester sauce.
Starting point is 01:12:14 Warchester. But there's no H, though. Westerhire. Worcester. Is that right? No, no, we're doing our own thing. Oh, you're working it out. We're doing it.
Starting point is 01:12:25 But there's no age. I've always called it Worcester sauce. Worcestershire. Worcestershire. Worcestershire. No, that's not worser. Worcestershire. Worcestershire.
Starting point is 01:12:42 And it's not, is it war chestier? No, I don't even know what I said at the beginning now because I'm trying to send it out too much. warcester sir Worcestershire Okay so we have to go to an answer now you've had some time to spend with it Your final answer is Worchester Swesterhire Worchester
Starting point is 01:13:00 Worcester Sauster Worcester It is Worcestershire Worsestershire Worseshire Worseshire I say Worcestershire I say Worcester Thank you
Starting point is 01:13:12 It's like we're all perfect here I say that one wrong I think I would have said I think I would have said a couple of those wrong. Worcestershire. Yeah? That's the think how I would have said it. Same.
Starting point is 01:13:23 Worst to shire. Or I would just feel like pass me the sauce. That one. With the paper around it. Lunchbox, I'm sorry. You made no cash today. But I learned some new words. Affidavit.
Starting point is 01:13:33 Affidavit. That's right. Akai, boy. No, what is it called? Asai. Akayabua. Acai bowl. Asai.
Starting point is 01:13:42 Asae. Asae. Asae. Asae. No. Acii. But he learned a few words, though. All right, lunchbox, stay here.
Starting point is 01:13:50 It's the best bits of the week with Morgan number two. We had even more guests come in the studio this week, but this time it was one of our favorite couples, Marin Morris and Ryan Hurd. They dropped their first ever duet, and they came in on the show to perform it. Plus, they gave us all the marriage and wedding advice, and we learned what happened with their wedding vows. That was actually really cool and a fun story. Number two. The Friday morning conversation with Merrin Morris and Ryan Hurd
Starting point is 01:14:19 Hello friends Ryan Your last song I felt was extremely underserved Did you know that? I appreciate you saying that I feel like you have so many hits And I think this next song that you're about to play for us Is the one that does it
Starting point is 01:14:36 Well I appreciate that a lot You've always been I mean my first song I ever released was called We Do Us It was like three or four years ago and you were very supportive of that, and I love every other memory, and it's just really hard to promote a song when you can't co-promote it, you know?
Starting point is 01:14:53 And so I really do, I haven't even played that song live. It's kind of odd to, like, have a single that you didn't even get to play out, but I'm really proud of it, and I'm really, I don't know, I think making country music in Nashville is its own, it's its own reward, and it's like the work. I mean, I think you feel the same way. The work is its own reward.
Starting point is 01:15:13 So getting to make country music in Nashville and also make music with Marin this year is kind of the two things that I am really, really proud of and excited of. So hopefully this song is exactly what you just said. I feel too a bit, and you can tell me if you feel differently, that this song is basically after you have argued with the umpire when you were right on the last call. Meaning everybody knows they messed up. The imp knows he messed up. He's going to make it up to this call, regardless of. You know what, man, I am really blessed to get to do what I do, and I've gotten to do everything in country music. I've gotten to go to every award show with mayor, and I've gotten to write
Starting point is 01:15:55 hits for other people and see, you know, my name at the top of the charts as a writer. So I have nothing to complain about. And honestly, just the fact that we get to work together this year is just a massive, I don't know, I think we always imagine we'd do it someday. It's kind of, it feels strange that it's here now. So I'm just really, excited about all of it. Everything I get to do, I think, at this point, is a blessing. Also, Marin Morris is here. Hi, Marin. Hey. Good to see you as well. You too. Happy New Year. Happy New Year. You know, I got into this yesterday. I just heard myself, like, do a Larry David thing. Well, we haven't seen you since the New Year. So, yeah, it's been a while.
Starting point is 01:16:34 Happy New Year to you guys. We should say it all. Every time this year we see each other, it may be September, dang it. I'm going to go, hey, happy New Year, guys. Happy not 2020. Yeah, that's a Good one. Instead of talking more, I think our audience would like to hear the new song played, and then I have a bunch of questions about it, obviously. But Marin Morris is here with Ryan Hurd. Now, Ryan, this song here, like, what was, was it always going to be a duet, and was it always going to be Marin? This is a really long story on this song. We did not write this song. Our friends, Brinley and Jerry Flowers wrote this song. Jerry plays bass guitar for Keith Urban. Great songwriter. Incredible. Both of them are incredible. Right.
Starting point is 01:17:13 and we, I mean, this song has been, I think every single artist in town has heard this song and held it, and we were just lucky enough to get an opportunity to record it a lot of times to get it right. And yeah, it's odd to be a songwriter in Nashville and not sing a song that you wrote, but we're really proud of it. And what do you have to add? Well, was it, when you heard it the first time, was it written as a duet? It was not. Okay. And we turned it into a duet.
Starting point is 01:17:43 There's a version of Marin that Marin has written on that we ended up going back, like, going back, like, kind of taking a step back from. And it's had a lot of versions. And it's actually like the demo of this song is really kind of famous on Music Row and is like writing circles. And so I feel really, really blessed that it fell to me and to us to get an opportunity to put it out because it is such a special song. All right, here we go. Ryan Hurd with Marin Morris. Here is Chasing After You. Mine's all gone Always catch me When I'm not that strong And then you wind up staying all night long Ain't nothing new And then I'll wake up with you on my chest
Starting point is 01:18:42 You got a way of making me Forget The girl with you the answer is always Yes Every time you call But I know yeah I know It's a matter of time Till you walk, till you walk back out of my life
Starting point is 01:18:59 Leave me standing You lonely feeling like a fool Every time you say we're done You come back to the love you were running from Don't know I don't know why I let you But I do Because I love chasing after you I love chasing after you
Starting point is 01:19:27 Awesome guys Ryan heard Marin Morris that is chasing after you congratulations on another great song Ryan thank you great I saw too that you guys watched all seven seasons of West Wing is that true? Did you watch them too Ryan or just oh yeah oh you did oh yeah seems like a lot of time dedicated to a show that went away a long time ago it's one of those things where like you've heard about this show for your entire life but I was you know a kid when it came out so it probably would have been pretty
Starting point is 01:20:13 boring for an 11 year old, you know, so we watched the first episode and just absolutely loved it and kept going. And you still thought it was good after it was over? Like you felt like today, it was still good. It still holds up. Absolutely. The cast is great and you see so many cameos throughout the seven seasons of people that are now famous and it was their first part. And it started in 1999. So it's really funny to watch the first season and it looks so dated and, um, But it's so smart. I love Aaron Sorkin, the writer. He wrote like the social network and this show.
Starting point is 01:20:50 And so it's just really, really smart. And I love the score. It sounds like a Disney Channel original movie score going along with this like really political dialogue. But no, it's just it warms my heart. It's one of those shows where you're like, I feel way better after watching that. I don't know if it's something we would have watched if we weren't at home all year. Yeah. Right. Well, I want to acknowledge the accomplishment that something like that is because I tried West Wing once and seven seasons, but some seasons are six, seven episodes, right? West Wing is 22 episodes per season, which is 156 episodes total. So that's, yeah, that y'all should feel really good about that.
Starting point is 01:21:32 Yeah. Hey, congratulations. There it is. Wow. A lot of hours wasted. We did it. It's not wasted because it is a good show. It is a great show, but no, I mean, it was a lot of episodes per season. And it came out at a time when like there was no TiVo. So I was looking and I think like the most viewers they had in one of their episodes for the first or second season was like 20 million people, which is like who watches the Grammys now. But this was back when, you know, you couldn't record stuff. You had to watch it like as it was airing. But it's so good. Yeah, we started it over. It was so good.
Starting point is 01:22:05 You started it over. Oh, yeah. The only show I can watch over and over again is the office and I watch it every night before I go to bed. But I think that because I have some sort of comfortability. with it and I can go to sleep not wonder. There are only two shows my whole life I've been able to do that too. The honeymooners because I've seen, do you know what that is? Like the
Starting point is 01:22:21 old old show? Yeah like Jackie Gleason from like the 60s because I knew every episode. I watch it with my grandma. It is comforting. Then the office because I go to sleep knowing what's going to happen. I'm not all butt puckered going to wonder what's going to happen to gym. Yeah, but you also like your favorite episode is Scott's tots.
Starting point is 01:22:37 Love Scott. That's the best. If you're talking about butt fucker. I can't. I can't even watch the first of that episode. I get, I like, get anxiety. I love cringing. One time the television got stuck on Scott's tots. He was having a meltdown. I can't even speak about it. It's so, it's so cringy. For those that don't know, it's an episode of the office where Michael promises these kids when they're, you know, their first or second year in school, they're going to send them all to college. And then he goes back to go, I can't afford it now. But like, in real life, if that
Starting point is 01:23:07 happened, that's like a legal case, correct? I mean, it has, like, it's... Like fraud. It has to be something that's like he ends up buying their books or something i was like dude you well batteries for the class yeah and then the one get your calculator batteries for their computer or whatever and but what i loved about it in the beginning is he he he really felt like he could take about it would take him 16 years to be this millionaire that he yeah he thought he was going to be rich get there he had good intentions yeah ryan's gonna like throw he's already like an anxious i don't know why it bothers me so much because the whole show is like based on that cringe factor and it's like social situations and and well doesn't someone in that episode say like michael this is the worst thing you've ever done
Starting point is 01:23:50 this is the worst thing anyone's ever done have you guys met any of the actors from the office i uh did a radio i got to ask brian a question on the radio once that's cool it was cool i met meredith star struck who yeah and she was fantastic that like the nicest and she was like i'll do whatever you want. Talk about whatever you want. She was super nice. Have you met any of them? I haven't. No. But I did buy a cameo from someone from the West Wing for Ryan for Christmas. Oh yeah, from Richard Schiff. It was awesome. Toby. And what do you have him say to Ryan in the cameo? She called me a, or she told him I was a
Starting point is 01:24:27 lovable curmudgeon. Like Toby. Like Toby. And he said, I don't know if that's something to aspire to. Yeah, he's like, you should probably cut that out. We'll find it annoying. Yeah. It was fun though. It was one of those fun things to get for Christmas. It's hard to, I think we're getting to the point where it's like we know each other so well that the fun part is finding special things that aren't like have nothing to do with money that that you can do for the other person for holidays and stuff. And that was like definitely the best Christmas present. Well, it wasn't free, but sure.
Starting point is 01:25:01 Ryan Hurd and Marin Morris are here. Ryan's got a new song called Chasing After You, which I hope all you guys check out. I'm going to leave you with this final question. I'm getting married in July for the first time. What is your advice to me about marriage? Marriage or the wedding? Well, I was asking about marriage, like the whole big picture, but I'll take a piece of each.
Starting point is 01:25:21 First, the wedding. Don't worry about food so much. Like, make sure everybody's taken care of, but nobody remembers what they ate at your wedding. I think people stress out about that too much. Worry about the important stuff. Get the words right. And find each other throughout the night.
Starting point is 01:25:38 Like we were, we like employed our relatives like our close, you know, siblings to be like, hey, we're going to be talking to a lot of people. Please make sure that we find each other throughout the night because, yeah, you're talking to everyone. You forget to eat. You're just like drinking on an empty stomach. And you like realize I haven't seen my new husband in half an hour. So that was like really important for us. Marriage. I mean, we've been married three years.
Starting point is 01:26:08 I don't know how wise we are with this. But I would just say, you know, especially being in the industry, it is helpful having someone that like going in just gets what you do. And never kind of makes you feel like you're having to choose between the two. And yeah, I mean, in our first year of marriage, like I was touring so much, like internationally too. Like I was in South America and we were, you were like really having to fly to come to see me. And that was like a whole blur the first year. Yeah, that was pretty exhausting, but it was worth it.
Starting point is 01:26:47 Yeah, just making time for each other. And yeah, you go ahead. I think that the biggest thing that we did was making sure that no matter what happened every day that I could like, we would talk on the phone, even if we weren't in the same spot, like having that like 10 minutes a day to like make sure that you're hearing each other's voices. really important. So honestly, what we do is not, people travel for work, right? I mean, I try to simplify it as best as possible, but I mean, we've had to learn how to really make sure to like prioritize now with a kid, like our family first and then the work stuff comes and has to fit into that part of our life too. So we, I don't know. I think it's always a dance that you're doing, but we're, I think the more you communicate, the easier it is to have really fun jobs that
Starting point is 01:27:34 take you all over the place and you travel for work a lot too and I think that man it's going to be really cool because she she gets it and she's a part of it and and yeah we're excited for you you guys are going to have a great a great wedding throw a party for yourself well should we cut a duet together that's what I'm one after hearing today should is that what we should do well took us instead of your vows we've been together for five years so it took us five years to do it so yeah this is our first time really really doing a duet together we've worked together a lot though. We've written, obviously, met writing songs, and we've sung on each other's projects just in the background, and, like, not really taking up too much oxygen, but
Starting point is 01:28:10 this is fun. It's fun to get to do this for the first time, just like both of our names on it. Did you guys do your own vowels? We did, yeah. I told Caitlin I'm going to wrap mine. She didn't think that was funny. Do you? Were you kidding? I was. You should wrap half of them. Yeah. How, when did you write yours as compared to your wedding day? I think we wrote the week of we went to a bar and who's we you and you and her oh separately though yeah we sat at the same table and like we're sitting this far
Starting point is 01:28:39 and she was on her laptop and I was writing on my like notepad yeah we wrote our vows in a bar yeah together but you didn't see them right yeah we revealed the day of yeah do you struggle saying them do you cry um
Starting point is 01:28:54 I tried to do a mix of like really sentimental and obviously promising him all of these things that I will like do for him throughout our life together. But also, you know, I wanted to add some levity to it as well. So I said, like, I'll put up with you constantly watching sports. Every season ends and then it's the next sports season. I will put up with that and you put up with me relentlessly watching the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Starting point is 01:29:21 And you somehow knowing people's names and their business. Yeah. Well, listen. Our officiant was our best friend, which helped. She had a bit of a slip, and she was really, really nervous, and she's actually said in thickness and in health, which is pretty funny. Yeah, she goes, Ryan, do you take Marin in thickness and in health? And we were like, yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:45 Still holds up, I guess. Yeah, it still works. All right, Ryan heard Marin Morris. The new song is chasing after you. They did it together. It's a great song. So good. Love you both.
Starting point is 01:29:54 Thank you guys for coming in. Thank you. And, hey, shout out your producer slash star player. This is my guitar player and producer Teddy. He produced this with my friend Aaron, who I grew up with. And we're, yeah, Teddy actually does an office quote before every show in our little get-together. So all office everywhere. Teddy, great job, buddy.
Starting point is 01:30:14 All right, there they are. Ryan Herr, Mary Morris. Thank you guys. Thank you, y'all. It's the best bits of the week with Morgan number two. Coming in at number one, of course lunchbox is included in this one because it was when the guys. shared their poems for their wives for this Valentine's Day. Eddie, Lunchbox, Raimundo, they all shared poems that they wrote themselves for their wives
Starting point is 01:30:40 because, yes, it's Valentine's Day weekend. So, of course, we had to have the love on our show. But yeah, they're all very different. They all showcased their personalities perfectly. And I'm just telling you, somebody wins and people get mad, but that's okay. They're all really good. They're all great poems and they're perfect to go into Valentine's Day. Number one.
Starting point is 01:31:01 Valentine's Day is Sunday. The guys all had to write an original romantic poem to their wives. It had to be 12 lines or so. It couldn't do four lines. So they're going to read their poems, and we will crown the most romantic poem of 2021. Would you like to hear mine I wrote, though? Because I didn't want to make you guys do something to me not do it too.
Starting point is 01:31:20 Oh, man, I'm worried you're going to make it look bad. No, I just, it's kind of dopey. It's just kind of funny. All right. I didn't want to steal the show and be way too emotional. But you're not in the competition. No, not at all. Because he'll win it
Starting point is 01:31:30 No, that's not sure I wrote a poem For my fiancee, Caitlin My love life Was in a coma Beep, beep Then came a girl From Oklahoma
Starting point is 01:31:39 Oh, so good You are the smartest, kindest, and most funny And makes delicious food For my tummy I didn't think That I was capable of love
Starting point is 01:31:50 But I look up You're the gift That came from above Then like the grinch My heart grew three sizes I no longer have to wear all my disguises. I truly thought I was broken until the three little words that I've never spoken.
Starting point is 01:32:06 I love you and our little family. You, me, Eller, and Stan and Malie. He struggled on that one. No rhyme in that one. Now growing old doesn't seem so scary. I can't wait till the day till we get married. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:22 Thank you. Yeah. I'm really proud of the Stan Amalee. Rhyme. You really worked hard on that one. Okay, I have a number written down one to 100 Pick a number lunchbox 50 Eddie 69 oh I didn't think that's what you pick Ray Let's go 49 okay the number is 33 oh yeah we will go Eddie then lunchbox is in Ray
Starting point is 01:32:51 Yeah, right Eddie you first yeah, I'm ready what would you like to say about the poem you wrote for your wife tell us about your relationship before you do this oh well our relationship we've even made married for 15 years, so we've got a lot of love, a lot of history, and I just feel like this is the time and the year to wrap it all up in one poem. Oh, I think about wrap it all up. I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. That's what I thought too when you said that. So this poem is called I love you, and I'm serious, guys. I wasn't trying to be funny with this one. This is a true love poem. Okay. That's the whole title. I love you. I love you. I love your eyes so blue. I love your blonde hair. Just can't wait to grow old with you and talk in a rocking
Starting point is 01:33:37 chair. We'll talk about this crazy life we're living. Four kids always running, yelling, never chilling. But today is just about us too and how much I love you. I'll make you dinner, drink some wine. I'll ask you if you'd be mine. And when the kids asked us to play, we'll say, Leave us alone. It's Valentine's Day. Yeah. Pretty good. Pretty good.
Starting point is 01:34:06 Okay. I think she's going to like that one. I told her not to listen on purpose. Eddie's first. Great job. Thank you. Thank you. The judges that me,
Starting point is 01:34:14 Scoo, Steve and Amy are thinking it over. Boys. I mean, I'll tell you one judge turned away and like, whoa, that wasn't very good.
Starting point is 01:34:20 But then it came back. At first he was like, I love you. I love you. I love you. Some songs say the same thing over and over again. Yeah. It meant to be.
Starting point is 01:34:29 Yeah, it'll be. That was your example? Yeah. Me too. Hey, I was just worried for a second. You came around. It's a great song. I just looked up.
Starting point is 01:34:36 There are seven words in that song. The whole song. See? It's a great song. Thank you, Bones. Just like your poem. Next up, lunchbox. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:34:45 All right. We've been married five years, I think. Yeah, five years. We got two great kids. And we, you know, we still got love and steam in that relationship. And so this one's a steamy one, guys. And it's called My Girl. How did I end up with such a cutie?
Starting point is 01:35:04 Girl, I can't stop staring at that booty. Our first kiss was playing darts. Now you get a lifetime of my farts. You're the bat to my ball. Remember when we did it in the bathroom stall? I like the way you shimmy and shake. I love how we make the neighborhood think there was just an earthquake. What?
Starting point is 01:35:28 it's great to see you cooking meals sometimes I sneak in there just a cop of feel a lot of girls dig my chili but don't you worry you're the only one that sees my willy is that it wait wait I got one more line
Starting point is 01:35:50 I got one more line when I watch you get undressed it's hard to keep something suppressed okay this turned into like cinemax What just happened? It went from like NBC 9 o'clock to Cinemax real quick. I gotta say that Chili-Willie rhyme was pretty good.
Starting point is 01:36:15 I'm entertained and grossed out at the same time. I know. I want to vomit, but I think she'll like it. Pretty good, dude. Thank you. Pretty good. Okay. Chili and Willie.
Starting point is 01:36:31 Yeah, that's a good rhyme, man. That's straight Robert Frost style. Ray, I'm sorry you have to follow that. But Ray Mundo or audio producer, tell us about your relationship. Dated for seven years, long-time daters, finally got married, and now we're freshly wed for three months. Okay, Ramundo, your poem, have at it. And very serious tone here. It's tough to follow lunch, but here we go.
Starting point is 01:36:57 It's called My Happy Place. When I first moved to town, I hated it. I kind of wanted to move back to Texas. I debated it. About a year later, I finally felt like I believe. long. Me, Bay, Pablo could do no wrong. Bay, you changed my life when you introduced me to your Nashville friends. All those legit times cruising around and someone else's bends.
Starting point is 01:37:23 When I think of how I found happiness, it starts and ends with you. A cozy house, a sweet text, and dinner as good as cordon blue. Now we're a married couple living in the country and going to fairs. Just you, me forever at Cracker Barrel, chilling on those rocking chairs. The point of this poem is to say, I love you, Bay, in uppercase. Happy Valentine's Day and thanks for helping me find my happy place. Dang, it came around strong at the end. The rocking chair got me.
Starting point is 01:38:00 I said rocking chair too. Oh, I missed. Wow. Okay. We have three contenders here. This is so hard. Write your answer to, or just text it to me. If you guys don't mind, just text to me your winner.
Starting point is 01:38:17 Text it in order. One, two, and three. Number one is the winner. Yeah. Let me just say fine job by all three of you. Yeah, they were also different. You each played to your strengths. I still...
Starting point is 01:38:30 Can't compete with Tilly Willie. I still, yeah. Like, I'm confused with that. How I feel. Okay. It's called love, man. Man. Happens.
Starting point is 01:38:41 I got Scoob of Steve's results. Mine are coming. Close. Here, Amy's. Wow. I think it's close. Wow. What's the wow for?
Starting point is 01:38:56 Did you pick me? No, first of all, in third place was Eddie. For sure. Everybody picked it. Listen, I'm not going to say who picked two, don't worry. Eddie. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:06 They all were great. Thank you. You did a wonderful job. Thank you. We loved how you used I love you 63 times. That was strange. Just three. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:14 But you led with it though. Right, that's the poem. That's the name of the poem. I get it. I love you. But you did a great job. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:39:20 But you are in third place. Cool. Let me say this. In first place, because everybody had Eddie in third, we have one vote lunchbox, one vote Ray. Oh.
Starting point is 01:39:30 Do what? Only, oh, one in one. Yeah. I'm the outer vote. Oh, come on, dude. I mean, you, the laughter and enjoyment you got from my poem called My Girl.
Starting point is 01:39:43 was by far away better than race. I mean, Ray's got sentimental and sweet at the end, but there was stuff that he just lied about, oh, in the country. They don't even live in the country. They have an apartment on the west side. I think he was talking about in the future. And you can say what else.
Starting point is 01:39:56 I mean, come on. Ray, he's knocking you. Is there anything you want to say before we crown the champion? I agree with him. I did have to do fairs in there. We haven't been to a fair in a couple years. It just rhymed right. But he is correct.
Starting point is 01:40:07 Well, I mean, I doubt lunchbox has gone to cop a feel while she's cooking. Oh, your husband, I'm done. do that? The bathroom stall? Oh yeah, good one. I forgot about that part. You think girls want your chili? Oh, they do want my chili. Do we believe that's true? No. What even is that? It's just like they like him. They want. What do you say that? Okay, the winner of Love Poem 2021. Let's go. Let's go. Lunchbox. This from the heart. So to my girl, oh my gosh, you're such a cutie and I can't wait to see this. that booty.
Starting point is 01:40:51 You want me to reread it? No, no. No, we're good. I was going to ask you anything you wanted to say, but you just said it. I mean, I would like to say, listen, to all my English teachers out there,
Starting point is 01:40:59 Miss Jordan's seventh grade, yeah, what up? All of them, any less one. It's the best bits of the week with Morgan number two. That's a wrap for this week's show. Happy Valentine's Day weekend, y'all.
Starting point is 01:41:15 I really appreciate you guys hanging out with us. I hope you loved all of it, including the behind the scenes moments, because that's personally my favorite part. Make sure you follow the show on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, all the things at Bobby Bones Show. Plus, you can go watch all the videos from this week at Bobbybones.com.
