He might have already been married by the time y'all listen to this, but I'm so excited for them. So starting off the show, huge congratulations out to Mike and Kelsey. And along the way, I typically bring a show member on with me. And this week, I bought back one of y'all's favorites, which is Hillary. What's up? Hello.

Hello. You guys loved our podcast together before. So, of course, I had to bring her back for another round. And we got lots to talk about today. So every week, you guys hear, you know, Bobby's mailbag. It's a whole thing. You guys send in questions or advice, basically anything you guys want us to talk about on the show. And this week we had a listener, Kendall, who wrote in and she's pregnant.

And she's debating, you know, when she has her baby, if she's going to post photos of her baby on social media. And we have a lot of parents on the show who have so many different views on this. Some who post about their kids. Some who don't post at all. We're all across the board. And then Bobby also commented on what he probably wants to do when he has kids at some point, too. So you can hear all of those.

But I want to hear Hillary like, let's talk about this from an outsider's perspective. We don't have kids. what do you feel like like what are your thoughts on this so me and you don't have kids but we both have nieces and nephews yes my sister just had a baby in November it's the first like baby in our family and she is against posting him on social media like I'm not allowed to post about him she's not going to post about him nobody in our family is a lot of post about him and at first I was like okay like obviously I'm respecting her wishes and I didn't fully understand what why, but for her it's more of a safety thing.

She used to be a victim's advocate. That's the job she had. She worked for the state attorney's office. So she has just heard so many cases about kids and all that stuff. So for her, it's more of a safety reason, which I think is kind of what Eddie and Lunchbox touched on too. So I know I don't have kids, so I don't know what I'm going to do with mine, but I'm leaning more towards not sharing them, just kind of seeing what my sister's gone

through and there's no point in sharing him. Like we get to see him and I get to share his pictures with my friends. Like you've seen him. I send you videos and pictures. So I'm kind of leaning more towards the side of respecting their privacy and keeping them private. But I have no judgment whatsoever with anybody who wants to share their kids on social media.

Like I'm not going to judge anybody who's doing that. But for my family, I know the rule right now is we want to keep the kids private. it. When I think it's hard to when they're kids and they're like, they're really small kids. They're not talking. They can't communicate how they're feeling. They don't have any say in the manner. When they start to get older and they're like, yeah, no big deal, I think they do.

But even still, which Eddie also touched on, like they're still a kid and you're still supposed to kind of look out for them. So even if they think they might know it, you are as a parent are supposed to know like what's best, right? Right. I don't know that like, I totally get it. And I see Eddie in Lunchbox's perspective so hard. But I also, like, just know how excited I get to share my life with people.

Yes. Not even just, like, just my friends and family's great. And I send them stuff, and I'm sure at some point you guys are like, stop sending me things. Because I'll send you guys stuff that I don't post about. I love it. But I want to post it because I just, I'm so excited. And you have so many emotions, especially when it's something like your kids and you're so excited about whether they're walking for the first time or talking or they hit their first, you know, softball or whatever it may be. I see how that excitement.

can happen and you're like, I just want to share it with everybody. I want everybody to know and see how proud I am. So I'm like, yeah, ideally I would not do that as like a very smart safety precaution. But then there's this other side of me that just gets so excited to share my life with anybody who's willing to listen. Yes. And I totally get that because when my nephew was born, I was so excited. And I was like, oh my gosh, I want to share his pictures. I want to share the first time I get to hold him. But he was born in November and it's June. I can't do the math of how old he is right now. but he's like several months old right now. And I think I've gotten used to it.

At first it was hard because I'm so just excited. I want to share him with just everybody. But since I've gotten used to it, I don't know. It's like a weird thing. I'm used to it. I'm like, uh, it's fine. Like we'll keep him private. Do your siblings do they share?

So they do. But we're not posting them on mine. Yes. As a safety thing. Because I do. I mean, no. Is there anything public about my life? No.

Like is there sure. people know who I am. Do I consider myself a big person? No. But in the very small spectrum with my niece and nephew, yes, it is. And so, yeah, we don't, we don't post them on mine anymore in this, like, day and age just because, like, they've had some incidents where people start to recognize them. And they're like, we don't, we don't. Yeah, you're right. We don't. Like, that doesn't need to happen. And I would rather protect my niece and nephew than, you know, post our time together. It's not necessary. Exactly. And like the grand scheme of things, we just want to look out for. for the little ones that we love.

And so, yeah, I think it's, it's best for us to protect them. And it is a little weird. Like if people are coming up to your sister and her kids, like, hey, you're Morgan's, you know. Like association by association by association. Yeah. You're just like, how did you even put two and two together? Exactly. It's kind of like the creepy part about it.

But, but too, like I also think there's a really cool factor in that when you don't share them a lot, when you have any sort of a public life. you have something that's private. And that's really difficult to have in a public life. So, like, when I see celebrities not sharing them and I see, you know, actresses or A-list celebs, like, some share them and some don't. But I'm like, I get it because if there's so much of your life that's out there, it's like when you get to go home, you have something that isn't out there.

And it's for you. Yes. So I feel like that could be said the same with kids. Like, they're ours and this is our family and this is what we get to have for ourselves. I totally agree with that. And I feel like whenever I go home, that's funny you mention that. Whenever I go home, people know I'm home because I'd never post anything. Because like that's my, you go dark on social media. People are like, are you okay? I love my grandma will text me and she'll be like, she just texted me the other day. Miss you on Instagram. Haven't seen you post in a while. I'm like,

I'm sorry. I haven't posted anything on Instagram. I really don't have anything to post. But when I'm home, I just want to be with my family and focus on our time together. I don't have my phone out, like taking videos and pictures of every little thing we're doing. That's my private time. I want to keep that space very private. So there is something to that too. I think you should have that regardless if you have a public or a private life. I think you should always have that time where you are not doing something on social media.

I totally agree. It's good to have that little privacy boundary. Yes. As a social media manager, I encourage you to at least take an hour of your life every day off away from all kinds of social media, everything. And just spend time with people that you love. Yes. Morgan does a really great job of taking that time every day to just like put her phone away and, you know, get off social media because you have to see a lot of things. So Morgan, she's the best one to talk about that of just taking a break from socials and just putting the phone away and enjoy your family. Enjoy your dog. Enjoy Remy. Yes. And all of my friends know, I'm a terrible textor because when I'm on my phone and computer all day, the last thing I want to do is go home and be on my phone more.

And so they'll, they'll, like, text me at, like, 3 o'clock in the afternoon. I'll get back to him, like, 8 a.m. the next day. I'm like, sorry, I was not looking at my phone. Yes, that's happened to me. I think yesterday you texted me, or no, I texted you. And then I have a new dog now, and our bedtime is, like, 9 o'clock. So I woke up this morning, and we're going to text me at like 10.30. And I was like, I'm sorry.

I've already been asleep for, like, an hour and a half. So me and you were on different, like, little time clock style. Yes. But both taking time to do things. And I, yes. I'm not going to let this lie because it makes me laugh every time. But the fact that your grandma is on Instagram will never not make me laugh. I think it's amazing.

That's so funny. We need to give, it's her name's Mall. We call her Mall because I know she's going to listen to this. She listens to everything that I do. But yeah, she loves Instagram. And it's so funny because I was talking to one of my cousins. And Mall will screenshot like a picture I post or one of my cousins. and she'll send it to like the other family members,

but all the other family members follow me. So they've already seen it. They're like, yeah, we know. Yeah, so then they get to see it again. So I think that's funny, but it just shows that she's proud of all her grandchildren and she loves us. But yeah, she's got Facebook.

She's got Instagram. She keeps up with everything. And it's so funny, I'll post something, and she'll text me about it shortly after and, you know, comment. She'll ask about my friends, so she knows you. She's asked about you. She loves just keeping up with all my. friends and everything I'm doing. But she's the one who notices when I'm like, MIA. She'll text me

like, are you doing okay? You haven't been on Instagram in a while. Like now my life's just really boring right now, I'm all. No, but I love that. I mean, she's so hip and she's so in tune with what's going on. Oh, yeah. She's like, hey, you know if I want to hang out, talk to my grandkids, I got to get on social media. Like she was like not one of those people that pushed it to the side. She's like, yep, bring it all. I want to see my kids. Oh, yeah. And I love that. She's been on in a few years. She's got, she texts, which I guess my other grandma does now too, but I guess a lot of people's grandmas don't really have iPhones and Instagram and texting and use emojis and the gifts and everything.

But she does. She's got it all figured out. Oh, yeah. No, my one grandma, she has her own farm and she's living her best life. But I'll talk to her like once every few months because I'll try and call her. She's like, sorry I was working out on the farm. So we have a lot of hit or miss. Yes.

And texting, no, which is so funny, though, because she used to be like an English professor. So she's like very good with words and stuff. but she just like does not text. She'll email me like randomly when the Nashville tornado hit. Yes. She sent me an email and she was like, hey, I'm just checking in on you. I was like, Grandma, you have my phone number. We've talked on the phone.

That's so cute. See, I was going to say, because your grandma lives on a farm, the reason I think my grandma does all that is because she lives on a farm too. She's on like 500 acres, I think. She married a chicken farmer. She's got her donkeys and her little miniature pony and all of that. So that's just what she has out there. So we're the people she gets to talk to you.

She's keeping your connectivity. Yeah. Because if it's not us, then she's talking to her donkeys, which she loves talking to them. But I mean, it's nice to have a little human interaction sometimes. So that's why I think she's got in all this. I just love her so much more now. Our grandmas would get along great. Oh, yeah.

You need to come down in Meat Mall. She would love it. They have a farm and they have a little loft area that we could go stay in. And she'd introduce us to like all her cows. Yeah, and her donkeys. And she goes out. See, me and you just get on like a. rabbit hole. We just talk about all kinds of things. But she has a pond behind their house.

And I'm not kidding you, she walks out there and all the ducks come to her. They all know her because she goes out there to feed them. She is like a, is a Dr. Doolittle? She really is. She talks to them. Oh, she talks to all the animals. She feeds them, takes care of them. So yeah, she is, she's doing, she loves animals. I love that. And I can see why both of us, like both of you and I are huge animal lovers. Yes. And we were both raised in families that were huge animal lovers. So it makes a lot of sense now, like hearing you talk about it.

Yeah. My family was the same way. Grove on farms. You have all the animals. You just learn to love just about every animal. There's not an animal that I don't like. Like, I really don't have an animal that I'm not a fan of. I agree.

Unless a snake counts, but that's like a reptile. Yeah. But yeah, besides that I love animals. I don't want to see him die. I don't want to see any animal die. It does make me sad. Roadkill makes me cry. Oh my gosh.

If I see it, I'm like crying. I'm sitting there in my car and I'm like, I'm crying over something that I don't even know what it is. Same. And me and my roommate recently, she was the driver, not me. She thought she hit a squirrel and we turned around and went back to make sure. And we did not. He was, we were good. Oh, my gosh.

I didn't tell anybody this because I was so traumatized and especially Amy with her bird thing right now. Oh, no. I walked out into the garage after work one day. Everybody was gone. And there was a baby bird that had fallen from a neck. And it was not alive. And I was not well. I left.

I had to. I couldn't. I made sure. Like when I first walked by it, I was like, oh my God. I can't. I cannot do this today. I walked by it. And then I stopped.

And I went back to make sure that it wasn't alive. Because if it was even a little bit, I was like, I guess I'm saving a baby bird today. It wasn't. It was not alive. And I just ran away. I don't know. I was more worried that if I needed to save it. Yeah.

Well, we have the garage that has all these. birdness. Yeah, they're like, I think it fell out of one of them. I mean, it was a baby. Like, you could tell it was, it didn't have feathers yet. Like, it was a baby. Oh, it probably. Yeah.

Mm-hmm. Oh, that's so sad. I was so traumatized to Hillary. Like, I didn't talk to anybody for like two hours. When was this? Last week. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, she didn't even tell me about this.

I was like, I was in here. And I didn't want anybody else to go through that trauma with me. I'm going through it right now. I'm really sad. I had to finally share it. Yes, once we finish this, I want to go off. there. I'm sure it's long gone now, but it would be like, what happened to the baby burn? It was way and heavy on my heart. But I did. I didn't double make sure that it wasn't alive that I could

have saved it. But no, he was gone already. That's sad. We're starting off on a very sad. I know. Okay. Well, let's get started so we can get some more exciting things. You send an email and we read it on. the air. It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Yeah. Hello, Bobby Bones. I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant, and I want to get your thoughts on something. I've noticed a lot of celebrities, including country artists, such as Marin Morris, deciding to not post any photos of their baby's face when posting on social media. People who choose not to post their kids' face

argue that since the child isn't old enough to decide if they want a social media presence, it isn't cool just to post their face on the internet. I'm curious as to what your thoughts are, and what you think the right thing to do is when it comes to posting your children on social media. Whenever you do decide to have kids, do you think you'll post their faces on Instagram? Thank you, Bobby, from Kendall in Central Coast, California. I think everybody on the show has a little different outlook, though,

who does have kids. Amy, your kids are on social, well, your son doesn't want to be anymore. Right. But your daughter is on right now. Yeah. So that's kind of always, I posted them probably before they really understood what it was, and I'm not sure that that was, you know, maybe I shouldn't have.

I don't know. For me, it felt okay. and then once that was when they were in Haiti. And then once they were officially home with me and they were my kids, I would tell them about it and talk to them about it. And yes, my son used to be a ham and I wanted to be all over it. My daughter was more shy. And now they've kind of switched.

And anything I post of her, I have her permission. And then, yeah, with him, he's taken a break from it. But that's his choice and I respect that. Eddie, your kids are not on social media. Correct. Yeah, I'm along the lines of they're not old enough to really decide when they are. They can decide if they want to be all over the internet. I mean, as of now, they're my kids.

My job is to protect them. So I protect them from the internet. But your oldest son's 13 now. If he does want to be on the internet? Nah, not till he's 18. Then he can decide what he wants to do. You're going to tell me if he's 16 years old. Yeah.

And he wants to have an Instagram or a TikTok, you're going to be like, no. Yeah, then I'm going to go to my Instagram and show him all the comments of people making fun of me and be like, do you want this? But he won't care. He'll say yes. No, he won't.

Okay. I'm going to say, You're going to be embarrassed and you're going to hate it. And you may be right, but I'm just going to tell you other things that you've said. Or like you're not getting him a phone. Like what? You're not getting him a phone. And he has a phone.

Until 18. Yeah. And he got one at 13. But my only point was you don't put your kids on Instagram right now. Correct. I bet you at 15, Eddie's oldest son is on TikTok. That's two years. No, no chance.

And Lunchbox, you don't put your kids on social media because of the stranger danger factor. I don't want listeners. knowing who my kids are and then my kids thinking, oh, I must know them. So I want them to be able to have their own privacy and the stranger danger factor because we live a celebrity lifestyle. Oh, boy. We're in the public eye and people recognize this in public. So I don't want them to recognize my kids in public and be like, hey, what's up?

And my kid would be like, how do I know you? And that just gets weird. I don't know what we're going to do. I'm like, Kailen make that decision. If we have kids, she's like, I don't know if we're comfortable with it, I'm going to be like, cool. If you made the decision, though, what would you do? I wouldn't care. I mean, from birth to...

They're gonna be out everywhere anyway. I can't take them anywhere. Eventually people are gonna take pictures of me. People will take pictures of me all the time out places. I have my kids with me. But public and internet's different. But they may take a picture and post it. I don't know.

That would be rude if they did, though. We were at top golf the other day and some guy comes up and just starts taking pictures of me without... I don't care, but be like, hey, can I take a picture with you? Absolutely. Come here, buddy. But instead, he's got all these weird poses. I'm like eating food.

Eating nachos. Yeah, I was like, oh. And I'm like, hey, man, I would like to meet you. Let's take a picture. And as soon as I look up, he runs away. And I was like, that was weird. I was like, Eddie, what just happened there? That's crazy.

I don't know what's going to happen. I'll probably just go. Kaelin, what do you want to do? I have friends, the Rodics, Andy Roddick, his wife, Brooklyn Decker. They don't put their kids on social media. They're famous. You know? And it's hard, too, because you have a lot of moments where you're just, oh, that would be great on Instagram.

Yeah, and maybe we do. Maybe I do a baby. My baby at TikTok crush. I don't have an answer right now. I'm not in it. I don't know what Caitlin's going to want to do. Because right now she may be like, I don't want to, but then there may be that way. She's like, okay, let's just post this picture.

His kids call him daddy. Last week, he served as my caddy. It's producer Eddie. Yeah. His opponent, she runs our digital. She's 5'0 and drives a big Jeep. And she has a side hustle making magazines about sheep. It's Morgan number two.

For those wondering, Morgan, what am I referencing there? Oh, I designed a magazine that's about Hampshire's, which is sheep. And I just, you know, I help them sell their sheep. Different farmers across the U.S. Arkansas, Wisconsin, they're everywhere. What's a sheep go for, like a really good sheep? Like over a thousand bucks. For one sheep?

And then what, because I heard some sheep in Montana in an episode of Breaking Bobby Bones coming up, but I think maybe it's a different. Like what, why would people buy a sheep? Well, I think it's similar to like cows and farming. Like they do different things. Some do it for wool. Some do it for the meat, different processes. But I think that's really what it is. They buy and sell them just like you would cows, kind of.

Have you ever gotten attached to one as you're loading up in the magazine? You're like, I need that sheep. Well, the guy who hired me for this job, he named a baby. lamb after me. I got really excited, but I don't think that lamb is around anymore. Chop. Yeah, I don't think he's here anymore. But his name was Morgan for a while. Well, there she is. And during the show this week, we talked about Bobby's Bachelor Party and Eddie's crazy idea for having a fight night. Yeah, you can hear all about that. It's a little crazy. Eddie really threw one out there.

But Hillary, do you have any, like, ideas already? You know, we talk about, like, dating and stuff. Which, speaking of, are you dating anybody? No, I am not. I'm so busy with my little dog right now that there's just no way. And there's nobody to meet. You do have a new love in your life. It's a little puppy.

Yes. So that takes up all my time. That's a new version. Are you on dating apps or anything? I am not. It's just me right now. Just me? Yeah.

Did you decide to give up on the dating apps? I know we were going back and forth for a little bit there. Yes, I did because the same people are on there. I don't understand them because I feel like people talk to you and then they don't follow up. And I think it's just because they have so many other people they're talking to. The pool is too big for them. So guys are just talking to like all these other girls and not able to focus on

just one. So I've given up on that. Do you like feel like you're putting yourself out more in public since deciding not to be on the dating app? I mean, I'm outside of my house more often. So body training my dog. So me and somebody walks by with their dog, that's probably the best way for me to meet somebody at this point right now. The grocery store. The grocery store. Are you like you're like, even just when you're out in public, even a little bit more, do you feel yourself looking more? Not really because I feel like every time I'm out in public lately, I really do not look my best. And I'm just not going to go, I'm not even going to approach anybody anyways.

So I don't know how to do all of this. Morgan's like my coach. But I don't know what to do. I can't go approach somebody right. Well, I mean, you can and you should if you feel inclined to, not like force it, you know, not like force yourself to go up to people just because. But I, somebody, I don't remember where I saw this. And this is not coming from me, but I saw it somewhere.

But somebody was like, if you think about it, you've probably met someone that could potentially be your one. But you're so busy looking down on your phone when you're out and about that you probably haven't looked up to see. And so that's why I asked, like, are you intentionally looking? I had to like, before I started dating like this guy that I'm with now that every time I was out in public, I would like intentionally put my phone. away. Yeah. And make sure that I was aware and making eye contact with people, even at the gym, at the grocery store, when I went to the mall, just different scenarios. And I felt like I was putting myself out there more because I was just in that moment. That makes sense. If that, if that makes sense. Like, I feel like it helps me a lot too because I felt better that I was putting myself out there

because my head wasn't in my phone. So if I did have the chance to meet someone, I was putting myself out there by being present. I totally get that. And I do feel like, because really the only place I go are the grocery store. And that's kind of my me time. I go to the grocery store for therapy, basically. I love walking around the aisle. I feel that, though. Like, I feel that. I love doing it. So when I go to the grocery store, I'm more focused on checking the strawberries, like spending five minutes making sure I like this carton of strawberries and which chips do I want today. Or what am I going to make for dinner? And then I have my little list on my phone. So I guess. I guess. Yes, whenever I'm browsing for an avocado or something, I can look up and see who's all around

me. But I don't know. Whenever I go somewhere, I'm just so focused on doing that one thing that I don't really pay attention to what's happening. Well, I'm going to encourage you to start doing that, especially because you just told me you decided to get off dating apps, and this is the only other way you are going to meet someone. The look on her face right now, I wish you could see it.

She's very serious right now. I know. I mean, you just told me that you took away the dating house. Fine. Totally get it. It's cool. They last two weeks. But you're telling me, when you go out in public,

you're just paying attention to the one thing you're doing. And I need you to multitask. Well, I need to go do more things. What can I go do? Just more like people-friendly meeting things. Happy hours, I feel like happy hours are such a big thing compared to just going out to bars and drinking. Yeah.

Is not how logistically you're probably going to meet someone that you want to share life with. But like happy hours. I see so many attractive humans at happy hours. Really? And it's because they go and they have a drink and then they go home. And they're not tourists. No. It is literally like people here during the week, you go to a happy hour.

Well, maybe you can come with me. You see groups of guys. Yes. You can be my wing woman. I love happy hours. But I just feel like that's too where like if you're in that dating range, I feel like happy hour is the best place to be. Yeah.

Even if you're just going to get apps, you don't even have to go and drink. I mean, they have fun snacks for happy hours, too. I'm going to go get some chips in case out. Yeah. I'm like, okay, he's all here. I really do feel like the way I'm telling you, I'm being so serious, the way I'm going to be eating somebody right now is just me being out in my front yard, just waiting for somebody to walk by.

You're waiting for the rom-com to happen, Hillary. I'm waiting for somebody to walk by with their dog. There was a cute guy with his dog the other day. I know the dog's name. I don't know the owner's name. The dog's name is Annie. And I've seen them twice now. but our dogs got to say hello.

And then my neighbor has a cute friend that I've seen. So I feel like there are people. Okay. So you're at least, you are putting yourself out there because you're paying attention. Yes. Yes. Because my dog wants to sit out there for 30 minutes just to go to the bathroom.

So are you sitting on your phone in that 30 minutes? No, sometimes I'll face to my mom, but most of the time me and her are kind of looking around because I have to make sure no dog's coming to, like, attack her. but she's my end with people because everybody wants to come see her and talk to her. So that's kind of

the conversation starter is Georgie. So yeah, I'm the neighbor, I want to talk to the friend. So that's going to happen. I'll make sure that happens. Okay. Next time he's over. I'm going to need an update like a few weeks from now. I know this is creepy, but I know what he drives. So

next time I see him out there. When you're attracted to someone, I encourage you the next time you see this man, I encourage you to ask him to get coffee. Okay. He's probably married or something. That's the worst. That's a worst part about men and them not wearing engagement rings. Because what if they are engaged?

Yeah. And they're not wearing anything. And you're like, oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't know. And that could happen because my neighbors, who he hangs out with, they're engaged. So he could be with another girl. 50-50 chance for sure. Yeah.

So we may have to give up on him. But maybe, okay, maybe the next time you see him, you just try and find out a little bit more. So you can feel comfortable asking. I need at least say hey, because I haven't said hey yet. I haven't said anything. I just sit here and look over and then look back. That's your homework assignment. I feel like I'm a very calm person. I'm not a partier. I think a lot of people, I've lived in the two Bachelorette destinations. I lived in Charleston and now I live in Nashville. I'm not going to either one of those places for my Bachelorette party. Honestly, what I want to do is just go rent a cabin somewhere in Tennessee, get my friends together. We can make some s'mores. And we could even go to Dollywood or something.

Like, I just want to do something fun where we can go canoeing on the lake. I want it to be super chill and just a very relaxing weekend. I don't want to go out partying because it's just not me. All right. Yeah. I'm taking notes. I'm taking notes as we speak. And no awkward.

Do you call it paraphernalia? What do you call that? What would you call it? You're talking about you don't want any of the boy things around your party. It's just not necessary and it's not me. And most likely my sisters will be with us. And I just could not have that awkward interaction with my sisters. So, and I just would be uncomfortable.

And I don't want to be uncomfortable about my own bachelor at party. So we'll just stick to Haganaut at a cabin. Okay. In the woods. No dirty things happening. Absolutely not. And for wedding. you know, I feel like since

Corona happened and I've seen so many people having smaller weddings and Kelsey and Mike getting wedding, getting married, I've, you know, I'm friends with them so I've heard them talking about their plans and stuff. I don't want a huge wedding. I really do kind of just want like my friends and family there. Like I don't care how many people are there.

I know for sure, you know, this is random, I want a mashed potato and sweet potato bar. That's like my one. That's my one request. Okay. So a smallish, medium-sized wedding with a sweet potato, mashed potato bar. And I'm happy. You were sold.

What about you? Now all we have to do is find you the groom. Now we got to find me somebody. And they have to check off on these things. I don't think, I mean, I definitely don't have any mashed potato, sweet potato situation. I think I want some form of fondue found or something. I'm a huge sweet person. Oh, yes.

So there will be something to do with sweet. in the form of a bar or a fondue situation. That would be cool. Of some kind. Because I want all the sweets. I could even forego the real meal and just do all sweets. You could. Like you could just have different sweets set up.

I do think I want like an ice cream bar. And like I want different bar type things where you can kind of create your own stuff. Like a mac and cheese bar. You would love that. You love mac and cheese. One of my friends had a mac and cheese bar and it was glorious. Like I loved it. Awesome.

So you can do sweets. with a mac and cheese bar. Oh, yeah. My poor husband is just on his own. I know. Whatever it's going to be. You could pick up food on the way, get some Taco Bell. You could have Taco Bell.

You have cheesy fiesta potatoes. I have thought about if they get like a food truck situation and having a Taco Bell situation there. That could be so awesome. And I'm hoping by the time I get married, Taco Bell figures it out to have a food truck. They have to. You would think, right? I'm shocked they don't have it all right.

Or they could just get them catered. I know they catered. I, okay. I feel like Morgan's not even engaged. Like she's not getting married. but it's like my mission now to get you a Taco Bell food truck at your wedding because I'm just as excited as you are about this. Yes. We're going to make this happen.

I feel like that's necessary for my wedding. Yes, we need all of that. What about your bachelor's party? No, I mean, I don't like, I have this idea that we would have not a combined bachelor bachelor bachelor's party, but we get like a massive house somewhere. Oh, fun. And for one night you guys are separated, like the bachelor and bachelor's party are separated, but then the second. night and the second day you play like Olympic drinking games together like a combo party and then at night you can either go out together or go out separate but I've thought about that and I guess it just depends

on my partner and how he is and his friends what he wants kind of thing yeah if everybody like gets along because I've gotten to party and hang out with my girls for so much in my life that's true that like as long as I have a one really solid night with him I'd be happy yeah and I'm more you know how I am I love hosting things. And I just love creating a big fun environment and like playing a whole like Olympic drinking games of the guys versus girls. I feel like would be so fun. That would be so much fun. And we have to have a sharkoutary board. I always say that wrong. We need one of those too. And then that's like Morgan's perfect bachelor's party. But jello shots. It's so random. The ones that Morgan can make all of them. But it's your bachelor party so you can't. But you're the one

who does it the best. So yes. But those things. So something a lot. those lines, but I know that once I meet someone, it could all totally change. I feel like we have, like, not unique, because I know a lot of people do this, but we're not your typical girls. I guess because we do live in Nashville and you just, we don't really want the whole party. Well, your whole thing. We wouldn't have fun. Living in a party town.

Yeah. Every weekend can be a party like that if you want it to be. Yeah. So let's go do something fun and unique. Yeah. So I feel like that's kind of both what we want. Different things. Yeah.

Just not going to have any. time soon. Taco Bell food truck in a sweet potato match potato bar. You heard it here first. Whatever we get married in like 10 years. So here's Eddie talking about his crazy fight night and his crazy idea of doing that for Bobby's bachelor party. And, you know, we'll see how Bobby responds.

Number five. I'm a bachelor party. Pretty excited about that. Get a bunch of friends together. We're going to Arkansas. We're going to play some basketball. We're going to just do a whole lot of stuff that I really haven't revealed yet. But Eddie came to me with an idea for the bachelor party because up to this point,

point, I have kept it off Eddie to do anything. I've booked the house that we're staying in, booked the flights. I've done it all because it's just like, I don't want anybody to fill the burden. I want Eddie to fill the burden. I mean, I have to pay for something. I appreciate that. Right. And so he comes to me and he goes, I haven't. Yeah. Well, well, you got to understand. So he's doing all this stuff, Amy, right? So I'm like, I got to, I got to at least come up with the events that we're going to do at night. Because we're going to play golf. We're going to play sports. We have a whole thing. But Eddie wants to come up with night events. And so pitch it to Amy like you did me.

Sure. Amy, look at me. So the first night we get there, right? We got all our friends. We have a bucket with everyone's names in it. My kids have boxing gloves that they got for Christmas. I take the boxing gloves. We pick two of our friends and we're going to do fight night. So they fight it out and everyone bets on who

the winner is going to be. Is this legal? There's sports. There's gambling. There's drawn from a bucket. Oh my gosh. It's going to be like underground fighting. But I mean, it's really us friends. Just having fun. And Caitlin freaks out when Bobby returns home with a broken nose. worried about that. I didn't think about that.

I just thought it was a dumb idea to begin with, so I didn't even get that far. Or your teeth get knocked out. Go ahead, Eddie. I'm listening. Okay, so how much phone would that be? Like, really? No, no, you're missing the question.

She's asking you a question. Am I exempt? Yeah, because he has to sit in a throne and just bet. It's like on a gladiator when he does his throat slit. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, walking Phoenix. I'm like, okay, I don't like Eddie right now. Kill them.

See, I do think that since it's your party, you're the one getting married, you may be exempt from it. So for Bobby's Bachelor. party, he sits and watches his friends fight. I don't, that's, Bones, is this really weird? You love it, don't you? I'm creeped out.

That would be hilarious but awful. Like we can't, there's no way we're doing that. Somebody would get into a real fight. You know, people would get mad. Okay, well, I'm just brainstorming here, so I guess we'll think more about that. And honestly, I haven't given Eddie a lot of avenue to create stuff. Again, he doesn't have a list of people who are coming yet. No.

Hey, what about, what about the biggest night? I don't want everybody, like, getting on a little group text with me not in it, and being like, oh, we should do with this? And all of a sudden, well, what do we do group text with everyone? There's a group text for Caitlin. Great, but she trusts you guys. Okay. I don't trust these guys.

What do you mean? Fight night. This is what's going to happen. All the sudden, I show up and, like, well, we've all talked about it for a week. Let's get fight night going. That sounds stupid. We love that. I did hit Caitlin out because I saw a TikTok where these people, like the guy is standing up.

You guys even know the wheelbarrel used to do with somebody when they put their hands on the ground. Yeah. They got their feet. So there's a TikTok where you, that you have their legs and you flip them and then land on their feet. And I said, hey, because Caitlin is extremely athletic, more of an athlete than I am. And I still feel like I'm pretty good. But she is so athletic. And I said, hey, we should do this because you can easily do this.

I said, or I'll do it. And she's like, are you telling me we're just a couple months away from our wedding? And you want to do flips for a TikTok. And if one of us lands on our face and we break something with, I was like, that's a good point. Yeah, she's smart like that. Yeah. What are you guys talking about in Caitlin's a little side message? Well, I can't say.

because it's a surprise things. Do you guys need to take a nude picture of me so you can play pin the wiener on the picture? Nope. You're not doing wiener stuff, are you? Amy? No. Okay.

I mean, she's not a weiner girl. Well, no, I had wiener stuff at my bachelor, which was weird. My friend Jill made wiener ice cubes. And your mom was there. My mom and my mother-in-law were at part of it.

And Jill was walking around offering ice cubes to freshen up people's drinks. And she offered a little wiener cube to my mother-in-law. It was so awkward. Like when you moved here, it was the first time. How did that conversation go? Was it just like, hey, we're going to do this, right?

Well, she had always said, you know, she's like, we're not going to live together until we're married. And I was like, that's fine. and I'll squeeze out every last day of living. I love living by myself, you know. And I was like, I squeeze out every last day I can. And then I bought that house just south of town. And she was like, well, she's going to nursing. She just started nursing school here.

So she was like, well, I guess I'll, I guess I'll move in, you know, and I don't want to pay for an apartment and when I'm going to be here all the time and all that. So I thought. So, and it's going good. That's great. Have you learned anything about yourself and living with another person? You know, I've been, we've been on the road the past few weeks. So since we moved into the house, I really haven't, but no, I haven't learned anything about myself.

So for me, I learned I'm probably a little messier than I thought. I was super clean, so I'm the opposite. I felt that way too, but I felt like I was super clean too until I got Kalin. And I was like, I leave clothes everywhere. So it's not dirty, but if I'll walk in the house and I just take all my clothes off immediately. So it's just like, and I just throw them on the floor. I love that. That's great.

And I'll come back around and grab them, but I realized, man, maybe I'm a little sloppier than I thought. But you're just perfect. No, no, no, lots of, lots of flaws. We just hide them really well. Let me ask you this. This is a situation we have in my house. Would you or would she, in a pinch, use the other person's toothbrush? Sure.

Sure. He answered that so quickly. I mean, I would rather have clean teeth and then just have to, like, swallow the fact that I used her toothbrush. I mean, if you're going to be kissing each other, what's different than rubbing the brush? But I'm not licking the back of her teeth, like really trying to get the plaque off. You're not? Let's just finish this thing that I've started. And his eyes kind of lit up when I played it and he was like, yeah, let's just, so we wrote a second. verse and that was a song. We were playing a rodeo he puts on out there. This is like three or four years ago now. And he had been telling me about this girl named Hallie Ray Light. And he's like, you got to meet this girl.

I'd never seen a picture of anything, but just the name. I remember being like Hallie Ray Light's got to go on a song. Long story short, she ended up coming to a show. She was going to Oklahoma State, Stillwater, Oklahoma. We played there at the Tumbleweed. She came to the show. It was my first night. ever on a tour bus.

And so I don't think, like anybody else on their first-known tour bus, you probably thought you were a little cooler than you really are. She didn't stay very long. She didn't think very much of me. But I thought a lot of her. And I was holleringered her for like nine months. She would just, would not even give me the time of days. But I was writing that song, Hallie Ray Light,

the whole time that she was ignoring me. And so it was, yeah, it was like nine or ten months. I think I was after her pretty steady. And she finally came around. The song originally ends with goodbye Halle Ray Light. And then when she came around, I changed it to also saying good. It says goodbye the second chorus, but it ends with good night. And what does she think about you writing a song about her, but then putting her name in, then release.

Of everything I've written And I feel like all the good songs I've written aren't in them because I don't turn them in. But this is one that got turned in. I finished my buddy Lee Miller. But man, I was, again, I like self-sabotaged in the past to like be sad and write sad country songs.

And as terrible as that sounds, it's true. That's funny. But it worked a couple times. And drinking was one that's super late night, upright in songs, doing things I shouldn't have been doing. And drinking came out of it, kind of a verse and course thing. and again never thought anything about it and I was writing with Lee Miller one day

and I was like, I don't want to write today, let's make this quick. Chop chop chop guy who has a lot of number ones. Yeah, and he's just a monster writer. But I did not know. That was our first time we were hanging out, so I didn't know that at the time. I'd go home and I'm like, God, you're an idiot.

You know, like try hard, dude. And puts me for them. But it's fine because this song, it's great. And it came out and I thought it ended up turning out really well. But all the people ended up real people and which like all the songs that I write are and they're all true, and I lived them, and unfortunately, I live this one too. So, let me get, it's an old song, but it is new to us.

Yes, so I just wrote it summer of 2018. So to me, that's old, I feel like. Got it. I was about to go, if I screw this up. No, you're doing great. Thank you. He's coaching me through. He's like, man, you're doing great at this interview. Thank you.

Okay, got it. Did you know, fun fact, Lee Miller wrote a bunch of raging idiot songs, Eddie and myself? Really? Yeah, number one comedy songs. He's a monster, man. And it's weird because when we write, He'll like, I remember the first couple times I wrote with him, he didn't say anything for like an hour. And I'm like, is he alive?

Is he breathing over there? And then all of a sudden he just, he's like, yeah, what about this? And you're like, he needed your encouragement. Like I just got. Now I feel like I'm top of the world. I can do any interview. Such a talented guy. Yeah, yeah.

It made me feel very good. What's the goal the rest of the year for you? I know you're out on the road. You're with Dirks. Are you doing other shows, your shows as well? Yeah, they're kind of weaved in between that tour. So I think that tour is only like Thursday, Friday, Saturday, every week. I could be totally wrong about that.

I have no idea. And I have no idea where we're playing or where we're going on that tour. But I will be there. and which is the case most of the time. I never know where we're going. But we'll do, like, we're headlining, like, Dosaki's Pavilion in Dallas and between that tour and stuff like that. You're just a road warrior, man.

Well, here's the thing. I'm going to flex on you a little bit. I have star bunk. I just got rid of it. I didn't like it. What do you mean? I just, I had a star, I had one for like three weeks, and I didn't like sleeping on the back of the bus.

So you sleep in the middle of the bus? I got a condo bunk. Well, I don't know that what's a condo bunk. You know, like, bunks, their regular size are kind of small. Like, there's three in each row deal. Well, you can take one out, and so there's two. So you have more. Oh, head space.

Yeah, more head space. And it feels way bigger. But sleeping in between the axles versus on top. top of the back axle is much better. Well, all I know is I get back there and I get in the bed and I'm like, yep, I'm in the star bunk and then all of a sudden I'm just shaking all over the place and I'm like, this sucks. Star coaches are, for like three weeks. I was like, man, why am I not sleeping good?

And I was like, it's because I'm not sleeping. So when I get that little curtain close in that bunk, dude, it's, I was going to say it's party time, but it's not party time. It's sleep time. Cool. Thank you guys. Good to see you, my friend. There is. It's the best bits of the week with Morgan number two. This week we got an update from Lunchbox on his acting class. He paid like 600 bucks to go take acting classes for like four months so he could get better and chase another wild dream of his.

So, Hill, do you have any, like, that you wish you would have chased that you didn't? Hmm. Well, I feel like my main dream since I was a kid was to move to Nashville and work in country music, which checked that box. Pass that dream. I'm doing that. But what I really wanted to do was be a host of some sort, like on TV.

So I guess that would still be fun. But over the years, I've developed kind of stage fright in a way, I guess. Public speaking or stage fright? Right. Public speaking. Okay. Like speaking for people and sounding stupid. So kind of a both.

Both things. Maybe not a fear, just more of an insecurity. It is definitely an insecurity. We'll call it an insecurity. So I need to get over that. And then maybe who knows? I don't know. Maybe I can explore that.

Open for different options now. Yeah. But that's what I really wanted to do. I would sit at home and watch CMT and GAC all the time. And that's what I wanted. I was like, I want to be that person who gets to host, you know, those shows and, you know, do all those fun things, host red carpets and all that fun stuff. So I guess that was my dream when I was a kid and that's something I haven't accomplished.

I've been close. I feel like you're on that way, though. Yeah. I just need to put myself out there more. And we're talking about guys. I need to put myself out there more. And same with my career. I need to put myself out there more.

Just overall life. Overall, I just have a lot of things I need to work on. No, no, no, no. But overall in life, I think most people just have to be encouraged to put themselves out there more in general, because life is scary. Yeah, it is. And I just have such a fear of failure and, you know, people laughing at me, making fun of me. And I just need to get past that and just go for it and try it out. Well, you already have one cheerleader.

I'm never going to laugh at you. I'm going to root you on from the sidelines. Yes. I'm going to make signs. Morgan is very encouraging, very, very encouraging. This is why we're good friends. Well, I'll make sure that whenever that happens, I'll be there with signs. Yes.

And maybe cheesy fiesta potatoes to celebrate afterwards. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Do all of that. But, I mean, I'm with you, though. I always wanted to do country music of some kind. Of course, we've all heard that I wanted to be a singer at one point in my life. We won't mention that. It was a really good thing that I didn't chase that dream.

Oh, man. And then the only two other things that I feel like, I mean, of course, especially now doing TV and similar to you. We're very similar in that way of what we want to chase. Music industry and entertainment in the world. I mean, like, I did always, I'm not against going into news. That was me. You moved that?

I moved what. Wait, did a ghost move something? Oh, the screen's moving. That's weird. It's like moving now. Did I, I'm not touching anything. You could have accidentally hit it. I'm not.

It's moving. right now. What? Is Eddie in here? Oh, you know what? Eddie can access that stuff remotely. Oh my gosh. I'm sitting here and the computer's moving. It is. Eddie, I'm reading your emails right now. Morgan emailed you. I'll close my eyes. I'm not going to look through your emails, Eddie. Anyways, back to what you're talking about. That's funny. But this is what happens in the studio when we record in the studio after hours. Oh my gosh. Yeah, all those things think. I would do news anchors.

and stuff potentially still. That's something that I looked into. The only reason I never really pursued it after getting into radio is because, I mean, you talk about the internet being hard and seeing a lot of negative things, like doing the news every day, a whole other bogg in. There's no way. There's no way I could do that. Especially just right now. We're just in a weird place where everything's really bad.

So it's still an option. Like, I would still love to pursue that if it becomes something cool. But, like, random missed opportunities. One is working with animals. Like I feel like I could have been a really good, like, safari girl or veterinarian if I like to do operating stuff, but I don't. I just want to like be a zookeeper. I was just going to say, can you be a guide at the zoo? That's what I would love to do.

I would love to be a zookeeper. Can we make that happen? Like, just for a day. I want you to go to the zoo in Nashville and just be like a, you could hold the sloths. Remember when we went to the zoo and those two people were holding the pole that had the sloth hanging from it? That would be a dream job for you. you. Yes. I would love to work with animals of some kind. Like, that's still like a possible passion project at some point in my life. I think so. I think that could be something you could do

maybe on the side or TV can somehow make that happen. Yeah, you could go do like a show about the Nashville Zoo. Well, then the other one was going to be a chef. But the problem being a chef is I'm vegetarian. I mean, I think though there's an avenue for that, Morgan, because is there anybody out there on the Food Network who's a vegetarian chef, like show? Not that I'm aware of. I think that could be a thing. It could be a sweet TV show, like a focus on sweets. Oh, yeah, I do like that idea, too.

Because I love sweets and baking and all those things. I don't know. Those are my miss opportunities with chef and a zookeeper. I feel like I need to step it up and think of more things I wanted to do. I did always want this. This is kind of still my bucket list. And I feel like this could happen one day. Maybe.

I've always wanted to be in a music video. Oh, you could easily make that happen with the music. industry. I need somebody to let me be in their music video. We are in that. We have a, we have, we have, we know enough people in the music industry that we could easily make that happen. That's on my bucket list. So that's kind of a dream thing. Because I don't, I would be a terrible actress. I've, I've always thought it'd be fun and interesting, but I'd be terrible at it. But in a music video, you don't really have to speak. You can just kind of do things. I'll tell you. I, I, I was in one, but you never see me, but I was there. What? So Craig Morgan, International Harvester.

The music video. I'm sorry. What? It got shot in my hometown of Wichita, Kansas. Are you serious? All of it happened there, every single scene. I think for the most far, every single scene. I remember this music video, Morgan.

Like, I remember being at home watching this music video. When he was in the downtown area, I was there. I was in the crowd. Oh, my gosh. So you never see me. Like, I know where I am and I know where I was standing. And you can see, like, my little blonde hair. I was by myself, too.

My parents dropped me off to go to this by myself because I wanted to go so bad. That is, that's something my parents would have done for me. Yeah. Like they're just chill. They didn't want to go. They're like, we don't want to be part of that. Yeah, we're not sitting out there. But then I was like, okay, I'll go.

I'll go by myself. So I'm just chilling in one of that. That's so cool. But that whole music video got shot in Wichita, Kansas. I did not know that. Wow, what a fun fact. It is a fun fact. But yeah, you won't see me.

I was going to say, I want to go back and watch it now. So you need to do a music video where there's not like a million extras. I was more than a million extras. I want people to be able to like see you. I want a main role where there's Hillary. We see her. We know that's her. Yes. Okay, I feel like we can make that happen. We need to contact somebody. We can easily make that happen. You know how many music videos are getting shot all the time? I know. Do I like, because I always like bring the guests in. Should I be like, hey, like, bring the music video for that song? We know Donna. We know Donna real well. Yes. Oh, I'm friends with all the label people. I'll just like put a feeler out there and be like, hey, I just want to like come hang out. Yeah. That's happened before. We've got asked to do that before, but we were working. The whole show did. When?

I gosh, I can't remember who it was now Because it didn't matter Because we were working at the time So we couldn't go But we definitely are asked by a label To just go and chill out for one So I feel like this could easily happen

Nobody told me about that I've been like I think we all got it Like we were talking We briefly all talked about it Huh I could be making that up in my head No, you're

probably not. I'm just forgetting it. My brain is always lush, but yeah, I mean, if anybody is listening to this and they want me to be in their music video, hit me up. Yes. You'd make a great music video personality. I could see it. I think so. And then maybe once I'm in one, they might be like, oh, yeah, she can be, you know, it'd be cool is if I could be in a, I feel like Eric Church did something like this where they have one music video and then they have another song. It's like a story thing. It's kind of like a mini movie. Oh, yes. Where you're in multiple ones.

Sam Hunt did that recently too, where it's like, I don't know. It's just like a story all through all these songs. So like there's four different music videos. It's telling this one story. Well, and I want to ask you this. So I'm on a show on Circle Network called Country Countdown, which is awesome. So fun. You're doing great.

You can watch it on Peacock on Wednesday nights. You're doing great. Thank you. But we did a, we counted down the top 10 country collapse. and it made me think of it because you're talking about music videos. And so I had to go back and watch a bunch of music videos for research for this. What is your favorite? It could be a collab, but it could be in a music video collab.

Like what's just kind of your favorite collab or music video like off the top of your head in country music? I know. Okay, Eddie switched the screen now so I can see myself and it's very uncomfortable. My favorite music video of all time, which I have a fun fact about this that I've learned recently. it's the reason I really got into music and wanted to work. And it's a very sad one, but it's Martina McBride Concrete Angel. Oh, that is such a sad music video. But I remember being in fourth or fifth grade,

we were helping the computer teacher, like, clean all the computers. And the TV was on, and it was on CMT or GAC. Not sure why we're watching music videos while we're doing that. But that song came on. And that's the first time I really like paid attention to a song. and so that's what sparked my love for music. And this was before YouTube or anything. So I couldn't go home and just look for this music video.

So I would sit at home and watch GAC or CMT waiting for this music video to come on. And then I just started discovering all these other songs and artists. So that's really how my love of country music came about was through that music video. So it'll always be one of my favorites. My fun fact, our best friend Jody. Yes. lived in the house, that video was shot in. In Concrete Angel's video?

Yes. I did not know that. That was her childhood home? No, she lived it here in Nashville. When? Like as an adult? Yes. When she first moved to Nashville, that was when her first houses she lived in.

I did not know that. I know. And me and her had been friends. When she got into it, did they tell her? I think her roommate did. Somebody told her. This is the house? This is the house.

And, I mean, me and Jody have been friends for three years now maybe. yeah like three years she just told me this a few months ago we were jiving because martina is your girl she's my faith like i just love her but yeah i was like how have you never told me this before she's i didn't know you were interested in that like you know she's my favorite artist we've talked about this before and she just casually mentioned because we were in that area of town it's i think sylvan park area and she said yeah i um i lived in that house that the music video was shot in that's crazy Mind blowing. Yeah, so ask her about that next to me see her.

I will. I will for sure. And I love that. I love that your girl is from my home state, Kansas. I know. So I kind of always secretly loved Kansas when I was younger because of Martina McBride. Still haven't visited, but I want to go one day. We'll figure that out someday.

Yes, I can go for a visit. Okay. Well, I love that we went on this random crazy tangent talking about all these fun things. And now to get back to it, y'all can hear the whole reason. The whole reason we talked about chasing our dreams and doing fun dream chasing is because Lunchbox is chasing his dream of acting. And he's taking acting classes and he gave us a few of his scenes. And you decide how well he's doing in that class.

Number three. Lunchbox, you still paying for acting classes? Yeah, still doing my acting, still doing the virtual online things. We haven't got together in person yet. And I feel like I'm coming into my own. When you get together in person, will that be in town or do they live in Hollywood? No, no, it should be in town. Yeah.

I mean, I found it online. So, I mean, I assume they're in town. How much do you pay for this? I, it was, I think it was like $600 for three months or four months, something like that. Wow. That's a lot. And so your goal at the end of this class is to blank. Hopefully, my acting skills have improved enough that I move up a level in their classes.

And maybe it gets me some roles on, you know, maybe small time roles on TV, commercials. And then I work my way up to the big screen. The movies, you know, like movies. Yeah, we got it. No, we weren't figuring out what big screen meant. We were just like, wow, good for you. Yeah. So Lunchbox started taking these classes during the pandemic,

and he's continuing with the course. But if you move up, do you have to pay again for the second course? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, yeah, you have to pay. I mean, it's not they're not just going to give them to you for free because you're a good actor. Well, you paid. But if you don't pass, do you pay again at to retake the course? I think I have to go, I have to start in the beginner level again.

It was based off a TikTok trend that was happening. and honestly, it was really, really good. But I love weird food combinations. Hill, do you have any, like, crazy food combinations?

Combinations. Wow, I can't say that word anymore. Food combinations that you think, like, some people should try. Well, the one that I can think of, we would always go to this one restaurant when we were younger. I don't think it's really everywhere, but it's called Sunnies. It's a barbecue place back home. And I would always get crackers and put ketchup on it.

So crackers and ketchup. Like saltine crackers? Just like a good old ritz cracker Type cracker with ketchup With ketchup Yes Do you still do that now? Yeah, I would

If I go back to Sennies Or if I go somewhere And you know how they can They offer you free crackers Like at the beginning of a meal They always offer me free bread I've never got free crackers Well at this particular place

We got free crackers So I have never been anywhere in my life That they offered free crackers Oh It has always been like free bread Chips and salsa never had crackers. Yeah, you could get free crackers at Sunny's.

And so I would take my crackers out of the pack. I would get, and it was a very specific routine. I would spread out a napkin and I would get my crackers and I would line them all up. And then I would get my ketchup and just do one little stripe on them and eat them. Everybody thought it was so disgusting who would eat with me. But it's really delicious. So I highly recommend trying ketchup with crackers. Oh, Hill, I like a lot of things.

No, I think you'd like it. And I do like both of those things. You like both of them. The key to weird food combinations and liking them is liking both of the things. If you like one and don't like the other, then of course you're not going to like it. True. But if you like them each individually, yes. You'll end up liking it.

And I like watermelon and mustard, so that's why I ended up liking it. I think you'll like the cracker and ketchup. I like both of them on their own. Yeah. Do you have any other weird ones? Nutella with cheezzoz. Mmm. Your face is like, no.

Well, see, I'm not, is it Nutella or Nutella? I say Nutella. I don't know how to pronounce it. Nutella. I say Nutella. Nutella. I don't like it. You don't like it. You don't like chocolate.

But you like chocolate, but I just don't like that. Maybe because it's more hazelnut. Maybe. I mean, it's technically a chocolate hazelnut spread. I'll try it with the cheese it, though. I'm willing to try it. Well, if you're a sweet and salty person and you like calm, like I love, I love trail mix because I can do a peanut and a raisin and Eminem and I'll eat it all. I know most people

do. They need to invent trail mix. They do without the raisin. You know how many different trail mixes they have now? Yeah, but it's hard to find. There's a lot. If you go to Target, there's a crap done. There is. But I just want, I can, I can just make my own. I guess I don't need to be picky. Peanuts and Eminemps. Yeah, I'm just going to get peanuts. But yes. Or if you've, oh, M&Ms and popcorn. Heat up popcorn. Very delicious. Put on Eminem's right after, melt Eminem's. So good. Love chocolate covered popcorn. Chocolate covered strawberries. One of my faves. That's a chocolate covered pretzels. I do love those. Yogurt covered pretzels are good too. Those are really good. I'm trying to think of all the crazy things that I eat. I know. There's a lot. I'm trying to think of

what would be crazy. This isn't a food combination, but I like to eat shredded cheese by the bag. Oh, I'll do that. Like I'll just eat shredded cheese instead of like cutting something up or anything. So do you get a block of cheese and shred it yourself or just like the shredded? Like the shredded from the bag and then I'll put it in a bowl and I'll just sit and eat the bowl of strategy. I mean, that sounds like something I would do too. We both love cheese. One thing about me and Morgan, we love cheese and crackers. I went to her house the other night and I was like, hey, I'm bringing my food with me.

I get there and I have a big old like tub of cheese and crackers with me and then she pulls out her cheese and crackers. We love a good cheese and crackers spread. It's easily always a good meal for me. Yes. This isn't a weird one, but something people probably wouldn't put together with cheese is FIG butter. Trader Joe's Fig butter. That is your Fave. With manchago

cheese and a cracker and it is bomb. It's like a little jam sandwich without making an all sandwich. It's good. Yeah, that's a good one. I don't think I have any others. I know. I can't think of anything else weird that I would eat. I'm trying to think.

Because I'm a very picky eater. So I don't really try a lot of stuff. Yeah. You're between the two of us, which is saying something, you are the picky eater. Yeah, I am. So there's really not a lot that I'm going to try.

And if it's too weird, I'm not going to eat it. So that's why I don't think I have anything else. Just my crackers and ketchup. Which I don't know why I started that. Y'all try the crackers and ketchup. Let me know how that is. And the Nutella and Cheese-It's. Yeah.

And definitely popcorn and Eminemps. If you have a movie night coming up, I'm telling you, it is gold. That is a very, very good comment. I want it right now. Did you ever get the, um-and-emps? Do you remember snow caps, the candy? Oh, yeah. They taste like root beer?

Root beer. I hate root beer, and I don't think they taste like root beer. I feel like they're chocolate. That tastes like root beer. No, no. It's a chocolate morsel with white sprinkles on it. Oh, yeah, not the same candy I was thinking about. No, definitely not root beer.

I don't know what you're talking about. I was think it looks like, it kind of looks like sweet tarts, but they're different flavors and one of them's root. It was bottle caps. Bottle caps is what it was called. How do you? Okay. I was going to see.

Caps and caps. Yeah. No, snow caps or chocolate. What is the little white things on it? Spinkles. Is that what you would get when you go to the movie theater? Because I think they had those there. Fun fact about my family.

My mom, I think I've mentioned this before, she will not go anywhere if she doesn't have a coupon or anything. So we were not buying snacks at the movie theater because they were so expensive. So we would get that at like the dollar store. And bring it or something. Oh, yeah. Oh, I would always sneak food in. I don't know why I said like would. I still do that to this day.

Oh, I still do that. And I still end up buying something, too, so I'm doing both. Really? I just can't get over the prices. So, no, I'm not going to. But my mom, when we were younger and we'd have movie nights, she would let us all pick out a snack. And so snow caps was one of mine, my go-toes.

And then I'd switch it up every now and then and do something like, I can't think of anything else I would do. Snowcats were my go-to. Oh, they had the cookie-dough bites. Do you remember those? I love the cookie-dough bites. Those were another one of my go-to-c cookies. Yes.

I love a bunch of crunch. Did you ever have... I want to go back to the movies or no. I think we may be too young. I know, I am too. I haven't had lunch yet. My sister used to be obsessed with these butterfinger babies. Oh.

Did you ever have those? Are they like the little butterfinger thing? No, it's something different. I'm trying to think what it is because I think I was too young to remember them. But those are my sister's favorite candy and they stopped making them. This is a good one. What is a speaking of nostalgia? Because that's obviously something that would be nostalgic for your.

sister. What's a nostalgia food? Ooh, food. I just feel like, and I know this is very generic, but barbecue, because every time I smell barbecue or drive by a barbecue place, I always think of my family and going there after softball games. My sisters both played softball. My dad was the coach. So I've been around softball literally my entire life.

And after every game, we'd go to Sunny's, my ketchup and cracker place. And we would eat barbecue. So I feel like that's kind of my food. Every time I see it or smell it and a crystals, because we'd always pass by a crystals to go to the ball field. So anytime I would see that or smell that, I always think of. So yours is more about smells than it is more of a taste. Yeah.

I mean, mine's related to softball too. I mean, every time I would play, this is how it would go. I would get ranch sunflower seeds and a blue Gatorade before the game to have during the game. And after, I would get a laughy taffy stick and the gum, the baseball gum. What did the gut? The big chew. Yes, big chew. Yes, I remember Big Chew.

I would bring my quarters to the game to get double bubble. Oh, yeah. Or a sucker. Mm-hmm. Just like the concession stand at softball games for sure. Okay, now that we're discussing this, yes, like a hot dog at a concession stand or notches. Oh, I always got cheese fries. Are boiled peanuts.

Ooh, cheese fries. Those are good. Peanuts are good, too. But any time, I love boiled peanuts. But anytime I get ball field food, I always think of being at the ball field watching my sister's play softball. So there's a ball field behind my house.

Okay. In a little park. And they have a concession stand. And I obviously don't have kids playing. Am I allowed to go to the concession stand? I'll go with you. I'll go to the concession stand. Because I really miss.

Concession stands. No, I will 100% go with you. And not like a professional game concession stand. I mean like the mom and pop baseball fields concession stand. Go to Sam's buy all the candy, that type of concession store. They like load up on all the stuff. Yes. No, I will, now that I have a dog, what we're going to do is walk our dogs and be like, oh, there's a concession stand. I don't even know what's all in there. All I know is that I've seen a funnel cake before. A funnel cake? Yeah, I don't know. I'm telling you. It didn't this. little like hut thing and it's always closed when I'm walking. We didn't have these fancy things at my sister's games at Funnel Cake. But it's by ball field.

So I assume it has some of the stuff that we're talking about. We should definitely go. I want to know what everybody's is. Oh, yeah. There's just all kinds. I love concessions stand food. And if you stayed after, because my dad was a coach, my sister's played. So we would stay after. And if they had leftovers, you could get them for free. See, and I love, I love, this is what I love. love about food is that it's a connection to every part in your life because just tell you saying that

reminded me of different things so obviously we're talking about the nostalgia of ball fields and concession stands i remember in high school we could get cookies and you'd get two like for 50 cents and they were so good and you'd always want to have them everybody was eating them i relate that to high school in college i lived in the sorority house and we always had a taco bar or a soup bar and i relate like all of these different food scenarios to like my best memories in life yeah and I think that's what's really cool is like food doesn't just connect people and it doesn't just like everybody have different opinions about it. But it also like just brings you back to a place and a memory. Yeah. It really does. And just like a certain place in your life like a time.

And we're both very close with our families, which we sadly don't live near them. So I feel like having those little moments, it really brings us back. And it just kind of provides a little bit of comfort. That's why I really want to go to this concession stand with you because it provides some like a little comfort. It's like a little piece of home. Yeah, we're going. And I do think this made another girl's night food thing, nostalgia foods. Love it. Let's do it. Or a party. Somebody decides to have like a little house party do nostalgia foods. That would be a fun birthday party. I know. I come up with crazy ideas sometimes. Okay. I like this. Let's do it. Okay. Three Doors Down on the show this week It was a lot of nostalgia for people on this show For me, I remembered quite a few of their songs That I didn't even know I had in my brain somewhere And the interview was really cool But we've been talking a lot about nostalgia And I also want to know What artist brings back the most, like, nostalgia for you?

I feel like I have two, but the main one for me that will get me emotional is Alan Jackson because that's what I grew up listening to with my dad. Like, I remember the days riding around in his truck, we still do this, riding around in his truck with Alan Jackson playing. And like Alan, my dad, he has three daughters and Alan has three daughters. Alan's dad passed away. He's a drive song. my dad's dad passed away.

Like there's just similarities, and Alan writes about a lot of that in his music. So it's just so relatable to my dad and to me. And I just relate so much of my childhood. Like when I'm thinking about childhood memories, Alan Jackson is always around. Like we'd listen to him on the way to ball games. And anytime he was in town,

I would take my dad to the show. And it's really cool. It's been one of the most awesome things about my job is getting to take my dad to do stuff like that. So getting tickets to see Alan. and Jackson and it's just it's so sweet bringing a smile to my face now but I remember watching him on stage and like tears were my eyes when he would sing drive it was the sweetest moment I don't even know if my dad remembers doing this but he put his arm around me like when that song I have the

I know and then when I moved to Nashville um I don't know if I've ever told this story before when I moved to Nashville my dad texted me and he was like hey I have a song I want you to listen to It's by Alan Jackson, and I believe it's called You Can Always Come Home. And I waited a few days to listen to it. And my dad texted me, hey, did you listen to that song yet? And I was like, oh, no, like I need to, you know, I'll listen to it now. I'm driving down the interstate. I put the song on.

I'm not kidding you. I was full on bawling my eyes out because Alan wrote it to his daughters about, you know, go out and chase your dreams, but just know you can always come back home if things don't work out. And it is just like, it makes me want to cry now. is one of the sweetest songs. And it was just so sweet. And I know that's, because my dad's not a huge talker. Like he can be, but it's not like he's a super emotional person.

So I feel like he kind of tells us stuff through music. So like with Alan songs like that, he'll be like, hey, listen to this. And that's how my dad feels about us. And it's just, I don't know. Every time I think about Alan Jackson, I always think about my dad. I love that, though, because then I feel like, too, it can come full circle. I got a wedding one day, you're probably going to dance to an Alan Jackson song. Yes.

It's one of the contenders. And he released that new album. And he has the two songs on there that he wrote for his daughters. And I remember hearing those and I just started crying. I'm like, this is so sweet. Anytime there's a father-daughter song, I get so emotional. I don't know why. But I'm just, I'm so emotional about father-daughter songs.

They're so sweet. So that will be a contender. and then have a Carrie Underwood song. Like I already know. There's like two, I'm in between two songs for a father-daughter dance. I love that. Definitely Alan Jackson. Okay, so Alan Jackson.

Then you said there was another one. Oh, I will say Taylor Swift because she came out when I was probably 13 or 14. And I remember always listening to her, like sitting on my floor in my room, having her, you know, albums in my little CD player and listening to her songs. And I remember where I was when I first listened to her song, Tim McGraw, where I heard that. And then I went out and bought the album. And every time she had a new album come out, my mom would drive me to the store to go pick up the album. She would do that with me or with her, Carrie Underwood, Martine McBride.

Those are my three. Like when an album comes out, I'm going day of. But when she re-released the new album, it just brought back so many memories. I even had a party for it. because I know like to some people they may not like her or they may have thought the party was ridiculous or a little over the top. But for me, it brought me back to a place of my life where her music meant so much to me and helped me get through so much. Like I had some struggles in high school and I would always say Taylor is my friend because that's who is there for me. I would go and listen to her albums and it was a comfort thing for me.

Her music was because I felt like somebody else out there gets it and relates to me. and that music just always takes me back. When I was listening to the new album, she released, the re-release, it took me back to sitting on my bedroom floor at home, like 15 years old, just listening to her album. And now being 28, hearing these songs, and me being in Nashville and me, you know, growing up and getting through those things that I was going through at the time,

it just really brings a lot back. And so her music will always be special. to me because of that. She, like, helped me through a lot of childhood things. And you don't let anybody give you any crap for that because the way that you connect through music is just a way that people can get through life through difficult things, happy things. Like, music is another one of those things that just connects people in a different way.

And you connected to two things very real. And, like, don't ever let anybody take that away from you because that's special. And that's a cool thing that you will have for the rest of your life. And that will tie it to other memories that matter to you. Yeah, and I've never met Alan or Taylor, and those are two people who, I mean, it would be super cool to meet them. And I know they hear this all the time, but the one thing I just want to tell them is thank you. Like, thank you for all these memories. Like, Alan, with my dad, you like helped bring all these memories.

And me and my dad have all these things like going to your shows and driving in the truck together, singing these songs. And, you know, there's just a lot of memories attached that. And same with Taylor. And I know they hear that all the time from fans, but it really does mean a lot to me because there's so many memories behind both of those artists and their songs. Well, and I don't, you know, I'm not an artist, but we have enough come in here that I feel like I don't think they ever get tired of hearing that, though, because it just, it means what they're doing matters.

And it does. It really does. I mean, we get to see how much heart that they put into their music and their projects and knowing that people actually really appreciate it. It's not just putting your CD in an album and just casually listening to it, like really connecting with them and them helping you get through things. It's just, it really does mean a lot. And that's why I love music so much.

I love that. I love that a lot. What about you? No, now I'm all emotional. I know. I'm like, let's move on for me. Go to you. I mean, I think like a lot of my memories are tied to songs and stuff.

But like Brooks and Dun & Reba remind me of my parents. They love to two-step. My dad has always jammed to both of those in his car. Yeah. There isn't like a 90s country music person that I couldn't connect to my childhood. I mean, my parents is all they listened to. Yeah. And they taught me to love country music.

They taught me a two-step. I mean, just everything about it. That whole genre of country is what I connect to my childhood. But, I mean, just different song connections. like gosh and I don't I won't even remember the song titles I just remember like different lyrics but the chick's CD I had on blast whenever I had my CD player in my car and I was singing to my my car in my bedroom and I was singing to my stuffed animals that I would leave on a row and I'd act like I was a superstar to the chick songs or shenai-twin songs was with two like

CDs I had on repeat and then there was a shania twain um I think it's called either rock Yeah, it's rock this country. And I loved it. I would sing it on repeat again to my animals. It was another song that just triggers a lot. I think there's photos of me doing this too, which is not a thing I ever want to see the light of day. But Alan Jackson had a moment for me too because of his 9-11 song because I very vividly

remember that moment in time and that song coming out shortly after. If you were a fan of country music at all, you heard that song. Yeah. And I don't know. Just there isn't like, I wish I could pinpoint it to one, but I just, they had on repeat, every single artist in 90s country playing in the car, playing at home. We didn't know anything different. I mean, I didn't listen to anything different until I was probably in high school. Same.

Like all we had on in the car was, if it was with my mom, it was a Disney album soundtrack or when I'm with my dad, it was country. and that's what we grew up on. But I think one of the coolest moments for me, and I so wish you would have been there, was at Bobby's million-dollar show, I got to sit by Morgan's parents, and Brooks and Dunn played. And Morgan's dad, like, I just knew he was loving,

he was loving life. And it was just so sweet because, you know, we get to be around these people a lot, and we get to go to all these concerts. And whenever our parents, we get to take them to do stuff like that and see those artists that they, you know, not made us listen to, but that we would listen to with them.

It's just such a cool moment to sit there with them and Brooks and Duns on stage or Alan Jackson's on stage. And it just takes you back to that moment where we were sitting in your truck when I was a little girl listening to this song. And now we're here as an adult. We're living our dreams here in Nashville where we always wanted to be. And we're watching these people. And it's just such a cool moment.

So I loved being able to sit with your parents for that. And I knew your dad was just, like, loving life. And our friend Jody, she was sitting with me and her parents are huge Brooks and Duns fans. And so she was taking a video and sending it to her mom. She's like, my mom would freak out if she was here right now. And so it's just so cool how music, you know, is just such a part of our childhood with our parents. And then it all comes back. It is.

It's never lost on me the cool things that we get to do. Yeah. And I love when I get to bring my family into. it. Same. I've had some, like, that was a really big one that I wanted my dad to experience. They were coming in town for my Lysick surgery. I was like, it's perfect timing. Brooks and Dunner at the million dollar show, and I had known it ahead of time. And I was like, this, you guys have to be at this show. I'm not going to tell you why. I'm just going to say you need to be at this show. And so when they were there, I think, like, I got to give that to them through all the things that they've given

me. And then my mom, who is a huge Keith Urban fan, she got to meet. And, you got to Keith Urban at our IHeart Country Festival. And then another time my mom was in town, we were at the Grandal Opry. And she also loves Cole Swindell. And he was playing. And he, at the time, I wasn't a part of the show for longer than a few months. He had no idea who I was. And he saw my mom just really excited.

And I was trying to kind of make her keep her chill because it's weird. It's a weird combination of things. And he saw it. And he came over and he took a picture. And it was like one of her favorite memories. So I think getting to like give them back through everything that they've given us feels so cool. It really does. It's like because they've given us so much and I know I'll never be able to repay my parents for everything they've done for me and continue to

do for me. Like my mom's, she's flying into watch my dog for me this weekend. Like she's literally just coming to watch my dog. Like our parents do so much for us and this is our, you know, little way of giving back to them. And it's just, it's so cool. I mean, people like artists may not think it it's that much but to us it just means everything that we're even able to do that and mentioning cole i know we get asked all the time like who are the nicest people he is like he's he's he's told us he's so nice he's one of the artists who when i first started here and i was sitting in the um classroom most people don't come in there because we're just you know behind the scenes people but he made sure to come in and speak to all of us and see how we

were doing. And I know he's mentioned that to you before. He's mentioned it to all of us. If we ever want to come to a show, if our families ever want to come to a show, we don't have to be there. But if our families ever want to, to please let him know, and he genuinely means that. And I remember you telling me that story backstage with your mom. And for him to, he will, he will go out of his way to make a fan happy and just to say hi. So he's definitely one thousand percent. And I don't say that light, like I never say that, but a great human. He is. And he really, how you see him, he really does care about his fans. That is one art.

A lot of artists do, I will say. But he genuinely cares about his fans and, like, radio and people who've really helped him. And he's just very grateful for it. Like, anytime he comes in, it's always just very pleasant. He's always so nice. Very down to earth is the best probably way to describe him. Very down to earth. So he's definitely one of the most down to earth artists.

But I wanted to add that in there because people always ask us about artists who come in and stuff like that. So that's just a little random tip. They're all great. I mean, they really all are great. But he's a solid one for sure. He's definitely one of the top, top nicest ones. Well, you guys are getting to hear another really nice group that came in.

And this is a rock star group and a really kind of cool moment for some people on this show, meeting somebody that they listen to their whole lives. They're celebrating a 20th anniversary tour. So three doors down, they came in, performed a lot of their songs, talked about so many stories. And it was just a really good time. And it's always been a little bit different to do it. it's actually, it's really cool to be sitting here doing it because it's fresh and it's been so long since we've done it that it's, I'm kind of looking forward to it. But I was honestly nervous this morning when I got up to come in. Why would you get, you and I know each other at this point too. So it's not like we're meeting for the first time. But why would you be, is it because you haven't sang in a while? It's because we haven't sang in a year and it's probably the biggest radio show in the country. No pressure. Listen, I'm just such a big fan. And so, you know, you guys all coming in together, this means the world. So thank you guys for waking up early and singing.

Because I know it's a famous rock band, you don't want to wake up early in the morning. You know, it's early in the morning, so I appreciate that. So where do we start? You guys, the record's been out now, what, 20 years? 20 years. And I did see that you guys were going to play, you know, the better life all the way through from track one to track.

How many tracks are on that record? I think 11, I believe. But track one is Kryptonite. And do you start off with the big song? I think we're going to. Dang, the crowd's going to be like, All right, we're ready to get warmed up. Whoa, that's the big one.

It's good to be, you know, it's a little bit different, but we've done it. Every year we, you know, we have a Better Life Foundation, and every year we play a show for that, and we actually tried this out of doing a record, and we're done away from the sun, right? And so we just started that record, which, you know, it has, Here Without You, which is another one of her big songs, and it's like, at best, I put that song on, like the fourth song, fifth song on the set. But it was just so cool, and it was kind of inspired by, several years ago we went out on tour with Aerosmith, And it wasn't like an anniversary for the record or anything,

but they came out and they played their hits and all, but they played the entire record of Toys in the Attic. It was so awesome. And it was just, we done it to The Better Life that year, and it was just so fun to do that it'll be fun to do this year, I think. Let me hear a clip, Ramundo, up here without you. How big was this song for you guys here without you? Because I heard it, I heard it and played it on the radio.

It felt like every five minutes. It was a monster. That was a big song. And it was a really important song for us, too, because, you know, after the success of the Better Life record, which was, I mean, by the grace of God, it had four hits on it, which was really a blessing too, because, you know, if we would have only had Kryptonite, that would have been it, you know, obviously. But it's really hard to kind of follow up a song like that and then to follow up a record.

And so here without you, and when I'm going off the second record, really were important for kind of like launching us and kind of, for lack of a better way of putting just cruise control in a way, you know whenever it's I think two or three years ago we do a big charity show Eddie and I do the raging idiots million dollar show and I was like dang you know it would be awesome if Brow would come out and sing Kryptonite

we play it and then I was nervous when you showed out because I was like oh well because we're doing like the background vocals we're playing the guitar and we come out and it was we played at the rhyme and it was really one of the highlights of what we've been able to do so so that's where we met the first time I think it is it is man I had fun that night too

I was nervous too and then he wrote a check and then he's like and then I want to give you $10,000 and I spent I bought a new jacket It's awesome. Gas. Yeah, yeah. Would you guys mind,

We like to clap. Sitting here trying not to sweat. How did you, that song, if I'm familiar here, like that song kind of became a hit locally first and kind of spread that way? It did. It did, man. Our local radio station down in Bilox, Mississippi, played the song for us. And after just, after playing locally, like you said, and begging them to play the song

and going on the radio station and playing on the local show that they had once a month there. and it just really kind of happened to us like a story, you know, and we were naive when it was all happening, and we didn't realize that that's not how it really happened, you know? So it really kind of happened to us like it happens on TV. You know, by the grace of God, it all came together, man, and it just makes a really good story more so than how it actually comes together sometimes.

I cannot wait. In a long time. Brad, how did the band stay together? How's this still happening, you know? Man, we just, our fans, our fans have been so good to us, and they have encouraged us a long way. God's been good to us. He's kept us going.

And, you know, we've been through a lot over the years, but you just, I mean, you know, It really is. It's the fans, man. You hear how much your music means to people and a little encouraging notes on whether it's Instagram or Facebook or somebody you walk by in the store every day. I don't think people realize how much it means to you and how much those little pads on the back just keep you moving forward. Do people come up to you now and be like, hey, you're the guy from Idaho. I'm not sure if it's Creed or Three Doors Down or Lit? They ever do that? They can't. I get three days grace all the time. Oh, yeah. Okay. Well, that's three days of grace. They're a little harder. Yeah. But yeah, dang.

Sometimes I get third-up blind. You get third-up blind. I can see that. Cryptonite comes out. It's a massive hit. It's played at rock radio. It's played at pop radio. It's everywhere.

At what point do you start to feel like, wow. Like we're being played everywhere, and I can actually feel it as you're living your normal life. When I think that we've seen how far it was our first trip to Europe. and our first show, our first real show in Europe was a little club in Finland. And we've not even been to Finland that many times, but it was our first show over there. And Matt and I were walking up to the door of this club and a four or five hundred seat venue. And it was at 3 o'clock in the daytime, and it was snowy and kind of, I forgot it was like snowy or drizzling rain or something.

Anyway, it was pretty inhospitable weather, and there was three or four little girls standing in front of the club wanting our autograph. And we just walked down there in the middle of the day to kind of check the place out and just like we were in Finland. And they didn't really hardly speak English And I was like They were waiting on us in Finland In the show you know It was just three or four Well like three or four hundred

But it was just showed you just how far That like your music has reached All the way over here To a place that you never even thought you'd come Did they ever try to like flash you guys up And put you in fancy jackets And like guys we need more of it like a Like a we need a flashy sparkling

For a second For a second they did And they just realized it But that just did not That shirt and that voice Just don't look right together They just They just

They just They're gonna be Yeah Well they send us to like Media class To teach us to how to even Kind of do an interview And I don't think I paid attention

In that class Any more than I did any other class But I mean it helped And I mean They tried to make us Or tried to help us Not talk quite so

I mean like this You know And I did the same thing When I got into Doing like Radio and television They were like Hey you're from Arkansas

your accent's too thick. And so I went to a speech pathologist and tried to learn. And at this point, I've kind of re-embraced what I stopped doing for a while. But it was the same thing. They were like, you can't go work in a lot of places if you sound like a hillbilly. I know. I know, man. It really was like that.

And it was, I don't know. What would they tell you in these classes? Like, they would go, all right, Brad, Mr. Doors Down. Come on in. Because for me, it was G's. Because instead of going, you know, fishing, I would be like, we're going to fish. and they would go, well, first of all, you have to add G's all your words because you're eliminating somehow.

And eyes for me, because I is how I've been now trained to say it, but as eyes, you know, it was like, I got hit in the eye, you know, instead of I got hit in the eye. And they were like, well, if you say, ah, people aren't going to like you because you're going to sound like you're from Arkansas. Yep. And so I imagine they probably do that same stuff to you. They did. And you know, but you know what was so cool about it was as you get out and, and you meet people

in like the real world out on tour is everybody like just is a southern accent is like disarming to people or something it's like they don't they don't take you it ain't they look at you like you stupid or anything it's like they look at you kind of like oh you got to be he got to be decent what's doing you know it so it kind of like it is a little bit disarming to people so I kind of embraced it also and I'm like well I mean people like it you know three doors down they're in studio now they're going back out on tour you guys can get tickets it's Three Doors Down.com. It says 7.17.

Let me give a thumbs. January 4th, March, April, May, June. July 17th is the first show back. And you guys will be in Huber Heights, Ohio, Corby, Kentucky, New Orleans, Orange Beach, Alabama, Pelham, Alabama. So a lot of our listeners now are going to get to see you guys, you know, on tour.

Whenever you had Kryptonite and it hits, do you have that feeling like, oh, man, we have to have a second song so we don't end up like Chumbawamba, like a one-hit wonder. Was that a fear in the group? Absolutely. Absolutely. And I mean, we were so thankful that Loser done good.

And not only that it done good, but that it done good at Rock Radio, because at the time, you know, you want to be a rock band. But, you know, Kryptonite was such a big hit at not just Rock, but at Top 40. And if you went over to the Top 40 too much, the Rock wouldn't play anymore. So we needed to definitely keep our roots in Rock. And Loser became a hit at Rock. And it was number one at Rock Radio for months. And it was like four or five months or something.

As you can hear, they still have it. Brad still has it. Sometimes artists come in and like, I'm going to go back and play the record. I'm like, well, sing for me. They're like, oh, hello. We're like, oh no. You got it. You guys got it.

That's awesome. Hey, Brad, you know, we did this thing where I think we celebrated the record. And, you know, us three, we went in. We talked for a while and talked about the history of Three Doors Down. And then all the sudden, a copy of The Better Life on vinyl showed up at my house. You sneak in my house and leave it there? Because I have no idea how it got it in my house. Blame it on JP.

Okay. Somehow, that record, it had a whole long note on it. And I was like, I didn't let anyone in the door and it's somehow in the house. But I got to imagine it's crazy. you're still in the grocery store and you hear one of your songs. Like that's got to be a weird thing, right? It really is. Like you're shopping for fish sticks and all of a sudden you hear,

I'm here without you, baby! It was like two weeks ago. Really? And I can hear it. I can hear just like a little note of it. I'll know it's that. And I tell you in my wife, stop. And you go like,

she just rolls her eyes and walks off. What kind of singing training did you have as a kid when you started the band? I didn't. I was the youngest of seven kids, and I grew up in Assembly of God Church. And, you know, in simply God, they sing a lot. And I never sang up in front of the church, but I just grew up. It was never out of place in my house to be loud, you know, because, I mean, my family is a pretty loud bunch, and none of them would argue that.

And so it was never, I was never bashful or anything. So I just kind of grew up singing and loved 80s hair metal and all the 80s bands. And then I love, like, 90s country. And me and my friends, we would ride around the neighborhood. And I had a little Mazda Sundown truck that my daddy gave me when I, I was like 13. I just couldn't leave the neighborhood. So we'd drive that truck around, and we would just sing and sing and sing and sing and I guess that's where I learned how to sing.

Would anyone tell you, hey, Brad's pretty good. Like, you should try to sing. How did you start to get the affirmation to know, yeah, I should try to do this? Well, we didn't have a singer in the van. It was just three of us just jamming. And, I mean, we didn't even have a, there was nobody really thought about two singing. I was like, well, I try it. And I didn't, I mean, I was not confident at all.

and and our, Todd, our bass player, his girlfriend and one of her friends would be sitting there sometimes listen to us and I think, well, Pat, do you sound good? And I think them telling me that gave me more encouragement to finally like stop looking at the wall while I was singing and kind of turn around and be like, all right, I can do it. And all my friends were, you know, I've never had any friends that, like, picked on me about it. All my friends and even like a little southern small hometown, they were all really encouraging about it. That helped me more than anything. How'd you have those friends? That's the opposite. They just beat me up, told me I was a loser the whole time.

That's why I like loser when you, because I'm a loser. Three Doors Down, they're here. Tell me about the name. How did three doors down the name come about? It really didn't mean anything significant. It was just we were kind of searching for our name, and we had a gig coming up like that night or either the night after this little trip we took down to Gulf Shores

and being from South Mississippi, we just, the little town you go through going down there is just full little fruit stands. and some in the same buildings. And one of the fruit stands had moved a couple of parcels down in the same building. They had put up some tack-on letters. It said, business moves so many doors down. And some of them had even kind of fallen off.

And at the time, there was three of us, and we just kind of mailed it together and used it the next night at the party and just figured, well, it's cemented now. He can't change it. Did anyone ever have conspiracy theories about what the crazy theories, like three doors down is actually the sign of the beast? I've heard some doozies. Really? I would imagine because it's so, like, I never knew what it meant, and you're like, well, I bet it means something, like deep, or something like they're up to something.

I'm sure you heard people all kinds of weird theories about the name, huh? Absolutely. And, I mean, I can't really name one off the top of my head, but people have asked me, it's like, well, it has to be like, it means, like such and such, or somebody... Somebody lived three doors down and you murdered them. Yeah, that's not heard. That's not heard.

Three doors down here right now. They have their guitars. They were so gracious to come in and play some songs. Okay, so I've got two requests. Will you do when I'm gone? This is my first request here. Absolutely. Tell me about this song,

like when you think about back in the day when it's written and you started recording it, like what comes to mind? When I'm gone is actually the only song that we've ever written on tour. We've never, we've always, before, incense, always had the big dream

of getting out on tour. Man, we're just going to really hustle this time. We're going to play shows at nighttime. We're getting on the bus and right during the day, and it absolutely never happens. And we wrote when I'm going on stage one day at Soundcheck. and they had had

I'd been playing the music around for a little bit and I guess we don't always write lyrics and melody or music at the same time and sometimes they're written as completely different ideas that wind up together

and that's kind of how those that idea was and we were on stage at Soundcheck one day and put it together and I remember somebody standing there thinking like saying that man that's a good song and it also

once we got it it gave us some confidence. It was really cool to have that song and play it a little bit on the Better Life Tour, even though it was on away from the Sun record, because we knew we had one in our pocket that was a good song going into that recording process. And I think it took a lot of the anxiety out of that recording process, which allowed us to kind of open up and write the songs that we did for that second record. All right, here we go. I mean, here you are, the quiet guy playing the guitar, knowing I'm making mailbox money, you know, writing these songs with Brad. I mean, it's got to feel pretty good for these things to last so long, right? It really does. I was talking to my wife the other day, but I was like, you know, with COVID and everything, sitting home for two years. Like, we're living off what we did 20 years ago. It's just really a blessing.

It really is. The checks still actually come in the mail. or now they're just going right to them. No, not... Email. Are you guys still making money, though? Are they, like, streams? Are you still getting a little bit here and there?

No, too, man. Especially all, like, songs like, here without you and stuff. And, I mean, that song, a couple of years ago. And, you know, like, that song came out in 2003 or whatever, 2004 or five or something, whatever. 2003. 2003. But, like, in 2009 or whatever, Universal took all their music off YouTube.

and put it all back. So Cryptonite and Here Without You essentially got put back on the same day. And from that date, like 11 years ago for a 17-year-old song, that song has got like 640 million views on YouTube. And it still gets like a million views a week. Do people keep putting in movies and stuff too?

And when I say the grocery store, like that's where you want to be. It's kind of everywhere at that point. I got to assume like, and it's weird because you start it off as a rock band. And now like I'll flip on the hot AC station and it's like, another light one from three doors down. And you're like, dang, how stuff is transition?

But that's how you're getting paid still. Absolutely. Like a rom-com will put three doors down in. I'm here without you, baby. And you're like, all right, well, I never expected that. Love scene for the stuff. But that's got to be cool too, right? It really is, man.

It really is. And whereas last year, you know, we weren't able to go out and play shows. People were at home streaming some music, you know. And that really, you know, as the transition of the music industry has happened and where there's really not record sales anymore. Artists are, you know, that's where the artists get paid is off streaming music in different ways. And I don't know if kids and people realize what a blessing they were to artists last year

being at home streaming all that music. I want to ask, before we play one more song here, because, and let me say this again, 20-year anniversary of The Better Life, playing the whole thing. I'm not wrong here. You're playing it from top to bottom. Top to bottom. And I want to get into Be Like That, which I believe you two wrote together.

Just you two, you're in a room, you write this. this song. This is, you know, one of the middle tracks here. When you're right, be like that. Because am I wrong? Was it on the American Pie soundtrack too? It was. American Pie too. Yeah. I remember that thing coming and the song is also over there and I'm like, this is it crazy. And it was in the movie. And so that song became, again, such a hit. Do you ever go, can you believe us two just sat there and wrote that song? Man, I think that. Like two minutes. It was that quick. It was one of those quick ones. I think that all the time. I have felt guilty before about like, man, it's like I know people try

like so and I mean we're not overly talented dude just playing all that dude but I mean when I say like God blessed us with some songs he really like has because like I was sitting wonder why like so why didn't somebody else write some of those songs

you know because they just it weren't that they were like great they just man they connected with people and I guess to just do it in the simplicity of it but you know and I've stood on stage and sing be like that Aminia and I

shoes if I could be like that what would I do what would I do? Three doors down, they're here killing that. That's awesome guys. This has been so much fun for me. Brett, I saw a picture of you with Scott Stapp from Creed. Yeah. Was it here in town?

It was. I didn't know. He lived here. He does, man. He lives out out in Franklin. I've tried to get him on the show. He won't even respond. He won't come on the show. Come on. Is he not not Did he not like me? Man, you know what? That's the first time I've talked to Scott in a long time. Is that right?

Creed was the first band to ever take us out on tour. And we per se have, like, you know, a couple of times over the years, like people like Air Smith and Zizi Top, we've gone and played several shows with. But we've never opened for a band. And Creed was the only band that we've ever opened for. They were the first band to take us out on tour. And, you know, it was back in, like, in the day.

And me and Scott just somehow, we got to talking on Instagram. And I said, man, and he said, I live over in Franklin. I was like, man, I live in Murpysboro. And I said, hit me up here. His son was playing ball down the road from my house and went down there and talked to him. And then my wife and I went out and eat with him and his wife the other night. Man, and it's good to see Scott, man.

He's doing great, and he's a great dude, man. Put a good word in for me. I sure will. Because I like the guy. And I was like, I want to talk with him. Hang out. I want to hear stories. And so, and I was like, I saw a picture with Brad with him.

That's my end. Because we have a Mount Rushmore of guests we've tried to book on the show. It's a weird list. But it's Scott Stapp, Hulk Hogan, Vanessa Carlton, and Post Malone.
