But if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't
feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit.
If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration.
It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat.
Just hang in there.
Yeah, it would not be...
Right, it wouldn't be that.
There's a lot of luck.

The Best Bits of the Week with Morgan.
Part one.
Behind the scenes with a member of the show.
If you're ready, I'm ready.
Are you ready?
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
Ready. It's recording.
Oh, you're ready?
So you're ready?
Let's go right now.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
Okay, right now.
Let's do it right now.
Part one with Scoba, Steve.
As you just heard, Scova is joining me to speak.
What's up, Scuba?
Are you, I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
Yep, that one.
Exactly, yeah.
Okay.
We're not going to go into the bits because Scoob and I are recording this a little bit early
because he's got lots of things to do.
Yeah.
But let's talk about just some fun things on the show at some way.
I'll judge if it's fun though.
So you just tell me, and I'll let you know if it's fun or not.
I'm still not awake enough for your sadness.
You want to know what happened to me this morning, Skibba?
What's that?
What happened?
We know that my dad calls me every morning.
This has been a bit on the show.
Yeah, which I think is so cute as a father of two girls.
I think it's awesome.
And anyone that gives your dad crap or says anything, F them.
Thank you.
He's amazing.
But, like, this is all started because I am a horrible, horrible wake-up.
I cannot do.
I set like six different alarms at five minute increments because I...
Different sounds or the same sound or...
Same sound.
Okay.
But it's because I, in my sleep, turn off my alarm clocks.
Okay.
So you have like a fail state of a second and a third one.
Multiple.
Four, fifth, six, seven.
At the very least, I think my body can figure out this is the last one.
You have to get up.
You have to get up.
So this morning when you and I were doing this podcast and we came in before the show and
I was like, I told my boyfriend, I say, FYI, I'm not going to wake up.
I know this is going to happen.
Yeah.
So I'm going to need you to, like, wake me up and push me out of bed.
Otherwise, you're going to hear 12 alarms going off at 3 a.m.
Yeah, and you're going to be awake.
Yeah.
And he, so literally the first one goes off and I hit it off.
I was like, ooh, yeah, let me give it snuggle back in my bed, right?
Get your ass up.
He rolls over.
I'm like, oh, we're going to cuddle too cool.
Yeah.
And no, no, no.
He falls off the covers, flips my legs to the side of the bed and just pushes me gently out of bed.
That's awesome.
And I go, that was so rude.
and also kind of attractive.
Yeah.
And I just was like sitting on the edge of the bed stunt.
I thought we were going to cuddle.
Like not awake and also angry at the same time and also attractive.
Yeah.
I can appreciate that.
That's my morning.
That's awesome.
That's a good.
I always say my wife says this too.
It's always best to have someone who has your best interest and their best interest
and someone who is looking out for you and someone who cares about you and understands
priorities are priorities because my wife is the same way too where if I had something
similar to that, whatever may be, where I don't want to tackle it or whatever.
Or I'll postpone it.
She's like, no, you need to go now.
I'm like, I just want to sit.
No, you get up and go.
Because if you lay back down, you're just going to fall asleep and then you're going to
wake up 20 minutes later and you're not going to be the same person as you were now,
get up and go now.
And I'm like, all right, fine.
And they're always right.
And yeah, they are right.
So it's good to have someone like that versus someone who like enables you to be like,
yeah, come on back in here, girls, hang out.
No, there was not a second thought in this man's mine.
It was like rip off the covers, literally pushed my legs.
Like maneuvered me so powerfully out of the bed.
I love that.
I never met him, but I already love Mason Night Alone.
That's amazing.
Yeah, it was great.
Hell yeah.
So that was my morning.
How's life for you?
How are things?
Tell me about the kids.
How is life?
Life is very busy, but also what I asked for.
That's fair.
I asked for a family and I wanted it and I got it and I asked for this job and this career path and I
got it.
So there's nothing to do but just tackle it head on like you.
Put yourself out of bag and let's go.
I didn't.
Somebody else pushing me.
Yeah.
Are the kids playing sports?
Are they at the point where they're playing sports yet?
So usually my oldest son, he'll do, we usually between baseball and basketball and
throw in soccer every once in a while.
Oh, yeah, because you were coach.
I was coaching it.
Yeah, but now I just don't have the extra time.
And it even sucks because this last time we played baseball, I felt it towards the end
where I had some travel and then some travel I didn't see coming and it kind of ruined
the end of the baseball season.
And I felt guilty and I was like one of those things where I was like, damn, this sucks.
This is not how I coached the previous season with basketball and then all that other stuff.
It just wasn't the same for me.
I'm like, I need to take a step back for a moment.
And I can't, like we're talking about or maybe we'll be talking about.
Yeah, we talked about in part three.
Yes, the Q&A.
Somebody had asked how you handle work stress.
Exactly.
Yeah.
I don't know where this falls into it.
So maybe, so if you're, I guess you're listening in order, you will find out later.
Yeah.
The longer version of this, we're going to dial it down right now because we only 30 minutes.
And the shorthand version of this.
is, and this is me filibuster because I forgot where I was.
Oh, coaching.
Coaching.
And you're just taking a step back.
Step back, yeah.
So we took, and even for my son, too, because he was getting into, now he's like,
I feel like first grade becomes, like, real deal.
The kindergarten was kind of like, ah, this is whatever.
At first grade, you start really start implementing them as kids, and they have, like,
real homework, and they're learning more, and they're really getting set up for the next
grade and the next grade.
So I was like, let him focus on first grade.
He's also going to a new school.
So let's let him focus on that.
I'll focus on me and this job.
My wife's working full time.
and, you know, all that.
So I was like, we all need a break and not needing an extra thing on a weekend.
We need a weekend where we can just chill and enjoy each other and also.
And recover.
And recover.
Exactly.
Yeah.
So then we'll look at doing, I think it's basketball or baseball in the fall.
One of the two, I forget.
Okay.
And TBD and I'll coach because it'll really depend on what ends up happening now with work and everything.
And if I will have the capacity later, I may or may not.
You know, scuba.
It's also okay just for you to show up.
I know.
As a dad and a parent and support him in that way, too.
I know.
I may have to let go and let that be a thing.
Yeah, because who says you can't do it later?
Exactly, yeah.
You're totally right.
I just had this envision of my head of a Disney movie where, like, dad becomes coach, wasn't expected.
He always thought he was going to be a multimedia.
Instead, he's his son's coach.
And then I go up from being his Little League coach or his basketball coach in elementary school to his middle school, to his high school, to college, and then the NBA.
That's a story.
That is a great Disney movie.
Yes, yeah.
But you also have to recognize that he just wants you there at the end of the day.
And he's going to remember rather you're the coach or you're in the stands that you're there,
especially that you're present in the rest of his life too, not even just at those games.
You're present in the rest of his life.
And if you are overwhelming yourself by also being a coach on top of everything else that's going on, you can't do that.
I know.
And I can always be assistant coach too and be like, hey, let the coach.
I'm like, you know, man, or one of it.
Because like, if you're playing baseball, you need at least three or four people out there.
I go, hey, look, can't do head coach anymore.
I used to do that.
But if you need any assistance or help, more than happy to get involved.
And then you can step in where you can and you're not overwhelmed.
And the problem is then I have a problem being like, then I'm the coach now.
School.
This is where you learn control.
I know.
I know.
But that's okay.
What about the girls?
Are they playing anything yet?
I know the youngest isn't.
Youngest really nothing.
Yeah.
She wouldn't do anything.
But the middle child, she's turning four.
December so we were thinking about putting her in some sort because she's like she's pretty good at
soccer either soccer or gymnastics and doing one of those two but I wouldn't be the coach for that
I would just let I just be the dad be like listen you can't coach gymnastics okay no I have no
experience with it so there'd be no point and you should totally get her into that because she could
be a gold medalist one day she could be yeah we're watching the Olympics I'm like oh yeah that could be
my daughter that's amazing yeah that's so cool yeah that was that was my sister and I when we
speaking of like I want to know what sports all you played my like my sister and I we had a
phase of gymnastics.
We had a phase of cheerleading of dance.
In middle school, I was on a competitive softball team.
I played volleyball.
I was in basketball.
Super, like, into sports.
Oh, my gosh, yeah.
I loved sports.
And there was a period of time where, like, my sister, though, more than I was.
I didn't get as much into the gymnastics side.
I just really loved tumbling.
Yeah.
But Taylor loved gymnastics.
And she went to a camp with Bella Corolli.
Okay, yeah.
Like super famous name.
I think he kind of got in some trouble, whatever.
But she went to that camp.
And so like she was like going to do all the Olympic gold training and everything.
Yeah.
The trials and the World Cup.
What do they call the world champions or whatever?
Yeah.
However that works.
But she never quite went into to that way.
But yeah, we did all the sports like growing up and just over the course of life.
So she could be a coach for gymnastics.
Oh, yeah.
I could be a coach for tumbling.
Tumbling or softball.
Oh, for sure.
Softball.
Yeah.
If you had kids and you had a daughter, I'll be your softball coach.
I can see that.
Yeah.
And like my older sister, my niece is playing volleyball.
and she's their volleyball coach
because my oldest sister was my sisters and I
volleyball coached at one point too.
Did you guys listen to her?
You were like, shut up.
We did.
She was so good.
My oldest sister played college volleyball.
So she was really good.
Oh, dang.
Okay.
So she legit played.
Yeah.
And like when we were super young,
I was a baby.
And I'd be,
we'd be rolling around in our van all over this,
the country going to all her volleyball tournaments and stuff.
So I grew up playing like volleyball just hanging out in the courts.
A lot of sports.
So that was our whole,
like sports background. It was our whole lives for most. And then I got to high school and I quit
everything and became a cheerleader. Yeah. And then I could keep tumbling. So I still did both of
those. And then by college, done, all of it, done. Just tap out. When you say tumbling, I'm sorry,
I just in my head. Like I'm a tumbleweed. I just, like, you just like rolling around
the ground all over the place. You know, I'm doing somersaults everywhere. Not a bad vision, exactly.
That is the start of tumbling. You're like, I wish I could take what's in my head.
and put it on a screen.
You're picturing me like a tumbleweed.
That's literally probably what you're picture.
Like me, like, me, like, see, like, all right, Morgan, have fun, tumbley.
You're like, bye, you're just, like, somersault off.
You're like, br-d-l-l-do.
Like I'm an acrobat or something.
And, like, a tumbleweed, too, yeah, just like, we're rolling all over the place.
Like, there goes, Morgan, just rolling all over the place.
By the end of it, you just throw up.
I'm going to show up to work one day and just go, do.
Rolling all over.
Yeah.
No, no, no, tumbling.
You're watching the Olympics.
They're floor routines.
Okay.
Oh.
Tumbling?
Where they're doing all the flips.
Yeah.
The whole floor routine is totally different, having the dance moves and everything combined.
But where they're doing the flips and the running and going into something, that's tumbling.
Okay.
There was a girl in our elementary school growing up who was, and I wish I remember her name.
I had to go through my yearbook and find her because she had to be in the Olympics or someone like your sister who went pretty far because she was unbelievable.
Out in the middle.
I remember when we had recess, she would own that whole field.
And all of a sudden she would just start practicing and she would do that thing where she'd run.
And she would like do the handstand and do like flip and like rolling.
I'm just like, whoa my God, this girl is on.
And she was probably like fourth grade.
Yeah.
Doing that crap.
I'm like, oh, trust me.
When you're younger too, you can do so many more things.
True.
That makes sense.
What happens with gymnastics is you have to have no fear.
Yes.
And you have no fear as a child.
You don't care about falling and whatever.
You'll say, well, just get back up and do it again.
It is for the most part.
There is a fear though because you're going backwards a lot of the time.
But like that's what I realized is I got an adult and did adult gymnastics.
I was like, oh, I have lots of fears.
I can hurt myself.
I know what could happen to this body and I don't like it.
Yeah, consequences.
I've seen these things happen.
No thanks.
But as a kid, you don't give a crap.
No.
She's rolling all over that field.
I'm like, dang, okay, this is, so that's what you did.
That's pretty sick.
Tumbling, yeah.
Wow, okay.
I loved it.
I mean, in my adult life, I got a layout, which was really cool, which is they flip backwards
and your whole body is straight and you flip backwards.
So that was cool.
Heck yeah.
What about you?
Sports.
Growing up, what'd you do?
So for me, I love basketball.
I played a lot, mostly at home, and then I did play.
I did also play in leagues.
I played the Junior Magic League.
Our team was really good.
We ended up being like I think state or something or regionals
because we got to play at the Orlando Magic Arena
where the Magic played the NBA team.
So I remember going to the,
we had tickets to the game that night.
And then earlier that day we played on the court.
It was like a huge experience
like playing on the NBA court and doing a tournament.
So we did basketball and I did baseball for a couple seasons.
And then I ended up being at my brother.
I think I told the story once before at my brother's
baseball game and I wasn't playing at the time. I was like one of those like I don't know if I want to
play anymore. I think I was like 11 maybe 10 or 11 maybe I was like no I was like nine I think
or 10 and they had this tower in the middle where they sold snacks at the bottom but there was a door
on the backside that one day was propped open and I was just secure again no consequences I'm just like
what's this door go to there's got to be something up there because it looks like an air traffic
controller where it's got windows and they're facing each field there's four fields so you know like
a traditional one two three four one's like a softball older kids middle kids t ball whatever so
walked up the stairs and there was no one up there.
And I was like, oh, these are the booths.
I was like, oh, wow, scoreboard control.
And I was like, oh, and I like, you know,
you touch something and it works.
You're like, and then you just keep doing more and more and more.
Next thing I'm like, F it, I'm just, I'm here.
I don't give a crap.
So I sat there, I watched my brother's game.
I just started keeping score.
And then I was like catching,
I was doing the balls and the strikes and keeping like,
when they, you know, everything, the full score.
And someone was like, oh, someone's keeping score.
And then I walked down afterwards and it was like a thing
that no one knew what was going on,
but I would just keep score.
And then the second time I went up there, I noticed there was a microphone.
And I was like, oh, there's a microphone here.
I was like, this is pretty cool.
And so then I started announcing the game.
And I would be like ball or strike or whatever.
And people started like cheering.
And they like, it became a thing like that field that I would announce for and keep the score was so much louder than the other fields that were going on.
And then everyone was like, what the hell is going on?
And some guy would, I could feel the energy of someone walking by.
Like no one wanted to stop it because it wasn't like I was up there being like, like, F you.
Yeah.
Like you weren't doing anything bad.
You were actually helping.
Yeah.
Yeah, it wasn't like cursing or being like a typical like stupid kid.
I was actually, yeah, I was assisting in the game and made it more fun.
And so I think they were just kind of I never, no one ever stopped me or talked to me or
confronted me or said anything to me.
I just did it.
And then I kept doing it, kept doing it and kept doing it.
And then it was a thing where I just would announce my brother's games and be like, you know,
and you never once got stopped.
There was never anybody that came and talked to you.
No one came and talked to me.
Afterwards when I would leave some of the parents were like, hey, was that up, was that you up there doing that?
And I was like, oh yeah, yeah.
Like that's amazing.
She keep doing that.
So it was just more like encouragement.
and no one that worked at the building, like went up there.
Maybe they just thought I was supposed to be there.
Like, oh, this kids were supposed to be here.
Or it was, like, independently run and somebody just owned it.
And there wasn't anybody hired to do anything like that.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, they didn't really have anyone that really cared to be like, hey, kid, get out of there.
Yeah.
And I wasn't causing a ruckus.
If anything, it was creating for a better experience for the parents and for the players.
So they're like, well, this is amazing.
Did you want to be a sports announcer after that?
Oh, yeah.
Like, this is like all I wanted to do, and I still would love to at one point one day, like, do the
in stadium announcements.
For which sport?
Baseball will be cool
because that's where I came from,
but I also have a love for the NBA
and the NBA. I feel like the NBA
is super fun because it's like the lights
go down. They're like music playing
and the players are coming out and there's a smoke
and fog machine. I feel like that would be the ultimate.
Baseball would be pretty cool, but I feel like
basketball. Like if I could be the official
voice for whenever that guy
decides to retire or move on,
their Orlando magic, I want that.
That'd be so cool.
I mean, obviously it's not a job where I could do full-time because it doesn't, I don't think
it pays like a full-time gig.
Yeah, it's kind of like Wayne D.
Yes, yeah.
He does the Predators.
Seasonal.
I don't know if that's a voicing.
He might just see the in-game post.
Yeah, I don't want to do that.
That's uncomfortable.
You want to be the announcer.
I don't be the guy running around the stage, go, we're giving away this.
They take the different, thick-skinned person to do that.
That's not me.
I want to be the one where you don't see me and I'm like up in the booth and no one knows who I am.
The voice of God.
Exactly, yes.
Yeah, yeah.
I'd love to do that.
That'd be so much fun.
Okay, we're going to put that in the universe.
Shooting too.
We're going to take a quick break and we'll be right back.
Okay, cool.
There's two golden rules that any man should live by.
Rule one, never mess with a country girl.
You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes.
And rule two, never mess with her friends either.
We always say that trust your girlfriends.
I'm Anna Sinfield.
And in this new season of The Girlfriends,
Oh my God, this is the same man.
A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist.
I felt like I got hit by a truck.
I thought, how could this happen to me?
The cops didn't seem to care.
So they take matters into their own hands.
I said, oh, hell no.
I vowed. I will be his last target.
He's going to get what he deserves.
Listen to the Girlfriends.
Trust me, babe.

Woo.
My dad gave me the best advice ever.
I went and had lunch with them one day, and I was like,
and Dad, I think I want to really give this a shot.
I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings.
I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place they come.
Look for it.
up-and-coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you,
which is really sweet. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot.
He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it

In 2023, former bachelor star Clayton Eckerd found himself at the center of a paternity
scandal.
The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story.
This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth.
You doctored this particular test twice in so-ins, correct?
I doctored the test ones.
It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case.

As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences.
Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news.
that Ameriopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges.
This isn't over until justice is served in Arizona.

Speaking of basketball.
Yeah.
This is obviously where some of that connection love comes from with your shoe collection.
Oh, yeah.
I had Rick ask the question that was for a listener Q&A, but we didn't quite get to it.
Is Rick?
His name's Rick.
Yeah.
Does he, do you have any new additions to your shoe collection?
I'm trying to think.
I do not because my wife has been on me lately about saving my money and not buying shoes.
So I'm trying to think if there's anything that I bought recently and the answer,
and I'm not just saying it's because if she happened to hear this.
No, I have money.
Honestly, haven't because she put, she's, no, I'm sorry.
I'm sorry for fumbling rape, but I'm trying to think if I have.
No, it's okay.
I'm going to give you an honest answer.
You're a human.
You're not a robot.
Yeah, exactly. I've definitely not. I would say no, I haven't bought any in a while. I can't even think of what the last ones are. Maybe the ones I'm wearing right now are the last ones. They're Nike. They're Kevin Durant's, but they're the 50th anniversary of hip hop for hip-hop for 23, 20-23.
They're black and white and kind of look like space shoes. Yeah, 50 years of hip-hop. They're Kevin Durant's. And on the side, they have a little charm. It's a microphone. And it has like the number seven and it has EZ on the back. I think for Easy E. Have you passed your shoe obsession to any of your kids yet?
My son, he has a couple cool shoes.
I don't think he really, I think he likes them.
I don't think he cares as much as I care, obviously.
But I think he's like, oh, these are awesome.
And he likes them.
Like he has a favorite shoes that he wears or loves to put on.
So he likes them, but not like my level of obsession.
My mind was deep-rooted in the sense of like when I was as a kid, I would see kids have all
these awesome, like the pennies and the Jordans.
And I had the crappy payless or just some like really very basic rackroom shoes, Nikes.
Yeah.
Yeah, like not the cool one.
So it was more of like a man and envy.
Or riding my bike down the street to Jumbo Sports, which is like a sports authority,
which is like a dix, depending on what era of world you live in.
And seeing the shoes in the wall, be like, man, I would love to be able to get these pennies one day.
You need to help anything, sir?
No, I'm good, man, I'm just looking.
But let me if you need any sizes.
All right, cool, man, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I have, like a dollar in my pocket.
Did you ever watch the movie Free Guy with Ryan Reynolds?
Yes.
No, maybe I have.
I don't know.
It's like the video game one.
Kind of video game-esque.
Yeah.
I think I have, but I don't remember it.
I think he takes a nod to the shoe obsession because there's at a point in that movie
where he's like standing there just like fawning over a pair of shoes.
But he's like, he's like, oh, man.
You don't have the money.
So I really think what you just described was a pop culture moment for a lot of people.
Oh, yeah.
And you're just like, oh, no, no, I'm good.
Thank you so much.
And then one day I was balls enough to be like, yeah, I'll take a size of whatever size I was.
And I tried a mile.
I was like, oh, cool, cool.
He's like, you like, you like this?
It's like, yeah, they kind of hurt my toe a little bit, even though they were.
were awesome and they didn't. And even if they did, I would still get them. You're just trying to find a
reason to him. He's, all right, man, well, well, if let me know if anything else, yeah,
I'm good, thank you so much. And I would just walk out on my head down. Did you just, like,
sit in there with Amman for as long as you possibly could? Yeah, with my sweaty, smelly.
I don't surprise even let me do it. But looking back, he's probably some stupid 18 year old kid
that didn't give a crap. He's like, whatever, dude, just let him try Ammon, who cares?
Yeah, it'll be fine. He comes here all the time and he never buys anything.
Well, because back then, too, they probably weren't on commission and they were probably just paid
hourly or whatever.
He's like, whatever, dude.
And he's probably like, he probably sees himself in me.
And he was like, oh, that was me a couple years ago.
He'll, yeah.
So, no, I mean, these are the most recent ones.
My wife now is like, the best shoes come out around the holiday.
So just wait till then.
So I probably buy any until then.
And there's always deals.
Typically.
True.
Yeah, there is.
But I like the ones that don't have deals, the ones that come out new.
You like the limited edition stuff and those never have deals.
Exactly.
And they come out and you either get them or you don't get them.
So if you don't get them, then they, if you want to get them later, they cost more.
Do you ever do any of the shoe giveaway things?
I see dudes online.
Always posting on their Instagram.
So, like, dang, I didn't, I didn't make it.
Yeah, like, they have an app called sneakers.
So there's a Nike, so Nike has a Nike app.
But then they have this other app where it's called sneakers, S-N-K-R-S.
And this is more for like their Jordans and their pennies and like more like exclusive type shoes or shoes that, I guess, would be more than just the standard Nike or whatever.
That is a whole app about shoes.
It's a whole app.
So you can go to say, like, oh, this one.
So you can click on it and you can see, okay, the release date for this one is coming up.
And there's a bunch of them that are being released.
Today's drops.
So there's a bunch of today's drops.
And if you want to be notified, you can hit notify me.
And you'll get a notification at 9 a.m.
That these are available.
And then once you, it pops up and you have your credit card information is already in there.
And you're like, they already have my size.
Okay, size 13 men's.
My, here's my address, everything.
And then you click it.
And then in a 15 minute window.
So from 9 to 9.15, you have to enter.
And they say, but I feel like it's so unfair because I see online.
Everyone's selling multiples of them.
So how would they get multiples?
They're like, oh, we controlled it.
No bots are in here, which means people would create these programs that are like putting in all these entries.
A bunch of flutting it.
Exactly.
So they put in 100 entries.
Of course, they're going to hit on one of them.
But I can only put in one entry because I'm one person with one credit card and one helm address and one size shoe.
So I'm not.
Because they're only making a certain amount of those shoes.
Is that what it is?
Allegedly, yeah.
Allegedly a certain amount.
Or they try to curb the market to create a demand of some sort.
Dang.
I mean, they really got all y'all shoe addicts like launch with an app and a way to get in.
and it's limited edition and it's ridiculous because every day so I would say of 10 that I'll put in I may get one
sometimes none at zero of 10 whereas back in the day if you wanted a pair of shoes you'd walk to the store
or drive to the store go to the store like yeah I'll take those pennies in size 13 he went oh
and they'd have them and if you went there the week enough they definitely had them and if you went there a week
later they may still have them if went there two weeks later they may have a size 12 and a half
but you could make that one work and then or they may have them on sale six months later and they have your
size again it's like it was much more readily available and it wasn't a third
It was a thing, but it wasn't.
And it was the way it should be.
It should just be items that you can just go buy.
Why?
I don't mean to be exclusive.
I don't need...
They're basically catering to a market for resale, but they say they're not.
But yet they are catering to a resale market because if they just made enough for everyone
and put them in the stores, then everyone could buy them and it wouldn't matter.
But they say they're not catering to it, but that's bull crap because they are.
Yeah, or just like two pairs of each shoe in every store and you have to go to the store
to get them.
That's still limited edition.
Yes.
Then it would get people in the stores.
Yes.
Well, they were.
doing that way back before the apps, like in the early 2010s, you'd have to go to footlocker
like at seven in the morning. Some people would sleep over night. And then when they opened up,
they walk out there and give people wristbands. Like, all, if you got a wristband, you're in line,
you're guaranteed to get your size or whatever, just wait in line, you're good. And some people
would like pay people to wait in line for them. It became another business on top of a business,
like line waiters or people who would go in line for somebody and buy it for them and then ship
it to them and sell it. It became just too much. Dang. You know, I'm sad that people
will never get to experience like the Black Friday days.
Yeah.
But you'd stay outside of a place for hours waiting to get in and get the deals.
The excitement.
It was so much fun.
I mean, yeah, it was crazy.
We were wild.
Like, it was after Thanksgiving.
We would be sitting at 4 a.m.
at a stupid place that we didn't even really have a good reason to be at.
But it was so much fun.
Like, that was a cool community experience with everybody else.
It was an anticipation and right, a community experience.
Whereas now it's like, oh, okay, I'm in.
I didn't get it.
All right.
Anyway, so.
Yeah, or you go on Amazon Prime
and you can get it on their Amazon Prime deals.
Yeah, exactly.
Exactly.
Oh, they're good old days.
Yes, I know.
We both sound really old.
Okay, yeah, we're going to take a quick break.
Okay.
And we'll be right back.
There's two golden rules that any man should live by.
Rule one, never mess with a country girl.
You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes.
And rule two, never mess with her friends either.
We always say that.
Trust your girlfriends.
I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of The Girlfriends,
Oh my God, this is the same man.
On the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
What's up, everyone?
I'm Ego Wodom.
My next guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live, and the Big Money Players Network.
It's Will Ferrell.
Woo, woo, woo, woo.
My dad gave me the best advice ever.
I went and had lunch with them one day, and I was like, and Dad, I think I want to really give this a shot.
I don't know what that means, but I just know the ground.
I'm working my way up through and I know it's a place they come look for up and coming talent.
He said if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet.
Yeah.
He goes, but there's so much luck involved.
And he's like, just give it a shot.
He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit.
If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration.
It would not be on a calendar of, you know.
The cat, just hang in there.
Yeah, it would not be.
Right, it wouldn't be that.
There's a lot of luck.
Listen to Thanks, Dad, on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
In 2023, former bachelor star Clayton Eckerd found himself at the center of a paternity scandal.
The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story.
This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth.
You doctored this particular test twice.
and sell insolence, correct? I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case.
I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. Sunlight's the greatest
disinfected. They would uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing.
Grega lesbian, Michael Marincini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trap.

Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at Americopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges.

All right. Ryan asked, he posed this question.
I think he's trying to mess with us.
He said, why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?
Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?
That's a great point because
Yeah.
But you still do drive on a driveway.
You just park on it.
Mm-hmm.
But I think it's interesting.
This question, not so much.
I don't have an answer.
I really don't.
Yeah, because I don't know if there is an answer.
No.
But more than like words and how they get created.
And who came up with every single word in the English language because there's so many?
There are.
And then even some of the spelling of them where you're like, why would you make the GHT, like the GH silent?
Because like when you look at it.
you're like, especially I've always heard from people coming from a different country.
They're like the English language is the most difficult because of there's so many words
and because there's so many silent letters and the way we put our words together.
It's like like, like Nat.
It's like you would think Nat, okay, probably it's just N-A-T.
No, it's G-N-A-T.
Yeah.
Why wouldn't it just be N-A-T?
Why is it got to be G-N-A-T?
Like, are you kidding me?
Yep.
And I was talking to this guy who is from London.
He worked for a wild turkey and he had just moved to New York.
And he was like, there's so many things that I say.
and nobody can pick up on them.
And he would say the words, I'm like, what does that mean?
And if he's just like...
Is this slang different?
Well, they just have different words for certain things.
True, yeah.
And they even spell our words like different, like, even like favorite.
If you're looking at like a Daily Mail article, they're favorite.
Favorite.
It's always with the O you.
Yeah.
Anything with an O in it, like where it'd be like a normal, it would be OU instead.
And in here it's different.
Yeah.
It's just words are wild.
And if you think about a word long enough, you're like, I'm spelling it wrong.
Yeah.
Or if you say it to many times, you're like, that doesn't sound right.
Yes.
Our language is just so interesting to me.
Like definitely, when you go to spell definitely, like, am I smelling definitely or defiantly?
Or I don't even know what's going on right now.
All I know is like it's spelled different.
I'm pretty confident in that.
You're like, but the other one, so sometimes I'm not sure.
So I'll just put diff, D-I-F.
I'm like, you know what I'm talking about.
This is why slang works get created because everybody's like, I don't know anymore.
Yeah.
Just use this.
It's awful.
It's really awful.
So that was my thought that came with that question.
But we're going to end on this one.
Okay.
I'm going down a list of.
drinks, favorite beer, favorite
IPA, favorite shot, favorite mixed
drink, and then ending on
so in case any parents would like
to leave the conversation now, I hope you have
a wonderful day. Thank you for listening.
Favorite drug.
Is your cue. Favorite drink?
Well, the last question is
favorite drug. This was came from
a listener.
Drug. Again.
We're talking about drugs.
I preface it.
Any parents can get all the conversations.
And we're not talking about the medicine you take a night when you have a stiffily,
sniffily, no.
Oh, yeah, no, that, that, you know, cough medicine.
Yeah, coffee medicine.
Okay, start my favorite coffee medicine.
Okay, start my favorite beer.
I don't like beer.
Okay, no beer.
And no IPA then.
No, definitely no IPA.
Okay, I can answer this one.
I have, I love sour drinks.
Okay.
Sour beers, amazing.
If I go to a brewery, I'm looking at a sour beer, maybe a blonde drink.
Okay.
If I'm going light beer, I'm not really a IPA or dark beer drinker, but I love a sour.
Okay.
And I guess if I were to like a beer, I don't really, because my whole thing was, whenever I have a beer, it makes me super full.
Yeah.
And then it makes me bloated and I'm burping a lot.
And then I have this like weird headache.
And then I'm like, I have that feeling.
And you're like, oh, it's like, bram.
Everything feels so heavy and hard.
You really are an old man scuba.
It's like so annoying.
This is even when I was like in my early 20s, I had the same feeling.
You're not raw.
Beer doesn't make you.
Oh my God.
Any alcohol, let's be honest.
Doesn't make it.
alcohol, but at least beer is like, it's like, I'm not knocking beer because I know it, because it does
taste good because I, because I will sip a beer. I'm like, man, this tastes really good.
So I could sip on a beer and like maybe drink a quarter of it. But if I drink any more than a half,
then I'm going to start feeling like, oh, oh, oh. You remind me of Thor and of Ingers game right now.
Okay. So if you had to sip a quarter of a beer, what is that beer? This is where you could easily
be judged.
but you don't like IPA or you like but lair or I'll see this.
Hey, I'm going to judge so hard for sour beers.
You know how many people like sour beers?
Not a lot.
I remember from the last beers that I had, I remember on tap, not cores,
Mickelope Ultra on Tap was really delicious.
Okay.
Like drinking like a couple of Sips of Miglob Ultra on tap,
like ice cold, Mickelop Ultra.
Nice.
Freaking good.
And then if I had to go for like a more like obscure beer,
I don't think they make them anymore.
But in San Francisco, it was based.
It was made in the city.
If it's still around and you are in the area or if you're looking to go there,
Anchor Steam Brewery, Anchor Steam Beer.
Anchor Steam beer is so freaking.
Now I'm thinking about it.
Anchor Steam beer is phenomenal.
It is the best beer I've ever had.
And if you hadn't had it, I don't know if it's still made.
Because I feel like I heard a new story.
They were closing down or something.
Maybe it was due to the pandemic.
They shut their operations down.
But I'm sure it'll come back at some point.
Anchor.
San Francisco.
Yeah.
It's a brewery.
It's called Anchor Steam.
And that's their...
There's an anchor brewing company.
That's the company.
And anchor steam is the beer.
Yeah, they're still open.
Okay, cool.
So anchor steam.
I know I said a million times.
Anchor steam.
You got to try that.
It's so freaking delicious.
Especially on tab.
Oh, no.
I take that back.
I knew it.
Online it said they were open.
No, they're not.
But then I went to their website and it said,
Anchor Brewing Company has closed after 127 years in business.
Thank you to our fans and our community.
Cheers.
as we raise an anchor steam to you.
Has been around forever.
If I had the capital,
I would love to revamp that and bring it back
because it was such good beer.
That's what happened here.
I went to Nelson's Greenbrier
and did a tour when I had some friends in town.
We went there and that was their whole deal.
I don't know if you've tried that.
They have a tour there somewhere.
That's another cool thing if you come here.
Nelson's Greenbrier brewery.
They have really good, like,
it's like whiskey-based drinks.
But their whole story is they were around
from way back in the day.
They even made it through Prohibition.
And I think somewhere along the way,
they stopped and the family went to a different business
and then they brought it back like in 2008
but so this could be brought back
yeah, that's my point.
Okay, well you can't find this one
but maybe you can find a way to make it.
Yeah.
What's your favorite shot?
Favorite shot?
I don't like to do shots so I don't have one.
Okay.
Well, mine has a funky name so I'm not going to say it.
Okay, what is it?
I'm just not going to say it.
Okay.
But it was a really good shot that was mixed with like this raspberry cream.
Rumble still skin?
No, no, not ruppel mints.
Okay.
I was like gross.
No, gosh.
But that was my favorite shot.
I'd be a psychopath.
Yeah, you are a psychopath if you like that.
No, this has a different name.
But it was a good little mix.
It was from in Manhattan.
There was a shot bar there that had it.
Okay, favorite mixed drink?
Mixed drink, I would say, I guess what you'd call it old-fashioned a mixed drink?
Yeah, you can put that in the cocktail list.
I like old fashions.
I like that.
That was one of the things I learned early on experimented with alcohol and I knew by like 22.
I'm like, okay, I don't like vodka.
I don't like rum.
I don't like tequila.
I don't like gin.
I only seem to like the whiskeys and the bourbons.
and the rise. And then I think it was like early on. I think like, you know, I was maybe 25.
I moved to San Francisco and I had my first old fashioned. I was like, oh, this is it.
So that was my thing. So I stuck with that. I've been drinking them for, I don't know how long I've
been drinking those. But that is mixes the best with my body. I can have two to three.
And I'm just fine. Nice. That's a good one. You know what I've been on a kick of lately?
What? Cosmopolitans. Those are good too. Yeah. Because my wife will drink a lot of other things.
She's more of an adventurous drinker. And so I'll sip hers.
Well, it sounds like you have a body issue with your health.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, but a genetic body issue.
Yeah.
So, yeah.
Yeah, I love a martini.
So I've been on a martini kick lately.
I feel that.
I was really, you know, Sprite and Tidos mixed.
And then we started going to fancy places.
Yeah, I get it.
I was like, okay, I'm just going to start going with cosmopolitans.
Yeah, good call.
So they taste good.
Okay.
Ending on the last one.
And I wanted you to give no explanation.
I just want you to say what your thing is, just in case we still have some young listeners
your favorite
D-R-U-G
D-R-U-D-D-D-D-D-R-U-D-D.
D-R-U-G.
Oh, they said D-R-D, I'm like,
Drud.
I'm trying to be inconspicuous.
My favorite drud.
Scuba.
Inconspicuous.
Oh, it fails like
It fails like skunk.
Okay.
And then if you heard part three, you know what fail's is.
We talk about fail's in part three?
Yep.
Okay.
It fails like skunk.
Fels.
I like it.
I like the ink can speak with it.
What's that fuchs?
It's a skunk.
Oh, it's a skunk.
Yeah, it's daddy's medicine.
All right.
There it is, y'all.
Now Skima's going to make a sound.
That fuchs.
Ooh, that fowch.
It's like fetch.
It is like fetch, yeah.
Like mean girls, the word fetch.
Stop trying to make fetch happen.
It's never going to happen.
Okay, Scova.
