It's the best bits of the week with Morgan number two.
What's up, y'all?
Welcome to The Weekend.
It's the best bits.
I'm Morgan.
And this is the part one where I bring on another show member.
And we talk about some things from the show this week.
But really, we just talk about life and get caught up on things that we haven't got to talk about on this show.
or maybe something happened in their life recently,
and I just want to hear about it.
And this weekend, I'm bringing on Ray Mundo.
What's up?
That was like the long one.
That was like, you know,
and you awkwardly wait for something to end?
That's how that one felt for me.
Sorry for the awkwardness, my man.
I think you're trying to do your actual yeah,
and then you realize you couldn't, like, actually do it anymore
because the, you know,
whole Bobby bought it situation.
He bought it, but I am still allowed to technically do it legally
until he says no more and he owns it.
That's true.
But that's why you give me like a weird yeah?
Maybe.
I'm trying some new things.
Okay.
We're testing it out.
Well, coming in at number seven this week, we talked about everyone's musical obsessions,
and I talked about how much I love Teddy Swims, who is amazing.
Have you listened to him at all, Ray?
Yeah, your clip.
That was it?
That's all you got?
Yeah, I've never heard it.
I don't listen to the pop stations.
I mean, I know you're still in your 20s and stuff like that, but I mean, I'm not frequenting.
But you go out.
Like, do you like, do you not like pop music when you go?
out. Yeah, I do. When I'm on top
of, what is it, Whiskey Row, Dirk's
mentally, that's when I'm listening to the pop. Most of the
other spots that I go to, it's usually country,
I think. Really? Or just
elevator music where it's like,
I don't think that's elevator music. I'm pretty sure it's like
rave, EDM music, right?
Do you want your Teddy Swims clip here?
I mean, yeah, you can play it. All right, here you go.
Please don't make promises
that you can. So good.
Also, because this is with Megan Trainor,
who I really do love. She's a super
talented artist, like, vocally.
Hey, you got to be like Bones, though.
You got to tell me when to lower the music before you start talking.
No, I'll just talk and then you'll just start lower it.
You're never going to be Bones.
Ray was trying to compare me to Bones like before this.
He's like, I got to set you up for things.
I was like, Ray, we are not the same.
We treat this differently.
I was like, you need to think of an angle.
Bones always has an angle and you go, no, we just roll onto the next bit.
And I'm like, well, that's not how Bones does it.
Yeah, it's different.
We do something different.
Yeah, wow.
I'm just used to working with the best, sorry.
Oh, wow.
Okay, that was harsh.
We're starting off with some roasting, apparently, is what's happening.
But yeah, when you want me to lower the music, you just go like that.
That's what Bones does.
I'll give you the hands.
You're a mess, right?
But yeah, I'm obsessed with Teddy Swims right now.
I definitely suggest adding him to your playlist.
I always post some songs of the day that are pretty good, but he's on there often.
I've seen those.
You like those?
Yeah, you're rock in the park, you've got the dog.
You do a little smile of the face and maybe if you have any suitors out there that are interested in you.
And then you hit him with the music.
Yeah, with Remy walking in the park.
Remy's the star of that show, though.
That's all about her.
One of these days, I'm going to beazer.
We're going to track you, and I'm going to jump out of the bushes and kidnap you and teach you never to post your location.
I never post my location.
And you can just tell them to park somewhere.
Oh, my God.
Ray, you are roasting me so hard today already.
Bazer's going to drop me off at that park.
I know.
I know better.
Baser ain't going to let you.
I know better.
Oh, okay. Who's your obsession right now so we can get off roasting Morgan?
So it's not a person. It's a food, food group. It's moon cheese and it's keto. So there's no carbs, no sugar in it. It's really good. It's almost, you'd almost think of it as space food. I think that's maybe why they call it moon cheese. Is it from the moon?
Yeah, no. But it's like a dried type cheese so you can just have it at your desk and snack on it. But it's very good. Super healthy. Is it kind of like a Cheeto?
It is. Yeah. And they have all kinds of flavors. You got your jalapeno. There's cheddar.
Gouda sounds bad, but good.
Oh, Gouda is amazing.
Gouda cheese in general is amazing.
I don't like Guta cheese, but I like Gouda moon cheese.
Oh my gosh.
Have you seen She's the Man, by the way?
No.
With Amanda Binds, the soccer movie?
Have not.
Oh my gosh, then never mind.
My reference is gone.
Moon cheese, what's your favorite flavor?
I got to go with Gouda.
The Gouda one, but you don't like Gouda regular cheese.
Very weird, but very actual.
Okay, and just like by itself.
I know sometimes I see you snack and
on some pepperoni's in there. You don't like make a little sandwich. Well, the sandwich ends up making
it not keto when you have the bread, but the pepperonies are keto. Yeah, but I mean, you know,
like a pepperoni sandwich where the pepperoni's the bread and then you put the moon cheese in it?
That's actually a possibility. And say, hot dogs, I can't have the bun. That makes it not keto,
just the hot dog, keto. Okay, so you're still on this keto kick, though. A little bit. I do it
during the week, but on the weekends, it's a free for all. I mean, any fat food I want,
I'll eat a whole tub of butter and drink 12 beers. Well, you won't eat a whole tub of butter. I know
better, right? But do you feel like it's making you feel better? Is that why you keep doing it?
Yeah. I mean, yeah, you're not, I've talked to several doctors. I mean, you know what I'm saying?
But no, and they, some of them don't even eat all day. All they do, one of the doctors that operates
that has done surgeries for Beezer, a doctor Unger, he goes the entire day without eating,
drinks a couple cups of coffee, and at the end of the day, that's when he has his dinner.
Doesn't eat because he thinks better. He feels like he's better without it.
I feel if I don't know if you've ever felt this right, but there's like the intermittent fasting.
That sounds like what he's doing.
Yeah.
And when I've tried to do that, I'll hit a certain point and it's like I got to eat food or
I'm like going down a hill.
That ain't going to be pretty for anyone.
But he's a doctor.
So maybe we should listen.
But it works for him, right?
But could you actually go like an entire day without eating?
If the doctor, if the CDC is recommending that I do it, then yes, I need to do it.
Okay. I'm saying for your own preference.
Could you go a whole day without eating?
Because I used to wrestle, and that's all you do is fast.
Wild.
You have to make weight.
You got to lose like 10 pounds in a week, so I'm used to that.
You could do the intermittent fasting situation.
Dang.
Maybe it's a dude thing.
I feel like I get super hungry real fast.
Like it goes downhill.
You need a coach there with you.
So when you get mad, then they're just like, hey, come on, don't get mad at the food.
I'm not mad at the food.
I'm mad at everyone around me.
I'm mad at the punching bag.
Well, I don't think these are keto approved, but I am obsessed with Luna bars.
Possibly.
I would say they probably have a little sugar in them and carbs, so not keto.
Yeah, I was going to say, like, no sugar.
But they are gluten-free, and I'm on a gluten-free diet now because, you know, it's helping my body.
Just like keto's helping you gluten-free, I found out I'm gluten-sensitive.
Disney wasn't gluten-free.
No, and I prepared my doctor and nutritionist for that.
I was like, listen, I'm going to Disney.
It's not going to happen.
They're like, cool, we're going to put you on some extra supplements,
make sure your body, like, pushes that stuff out of the system.
They're like pretzels, cotton candy and snow cones.
Listen, you know how hard it was to try and eat gluten-free at Disney?
I tried one time, and it was like a disaster.
I was like, okay, I can't eat gluten-free.
I saw some of your foods, and I thought to myself,
I would roll up underneath a park bench and not go to any other part of Disney
after I ate that meal.
Hey, but it was spread out.
And literally, Ray, we walked that week, 35 miles.
That's over a marathon in the weekend.
Yeah, and so, like, that's why when you're eating, it was like you're just burning the carbs every time you'd walk.
Okay.
You know, so it didn't feel as bad.
But I realized it was a lot of food.
Tons.
And then you were doing roller coasters.
Some of them spin you around crazy.
Yeah, I was, I was drugged up on that drama mean.
Which was I did after the fact when I went to Disney.
Really?
You did it after?
My bad on that one.
Oh, that probably didn't help at all, did it?
You did?
It did after?
Yep.
Okay.
Yeah, I went into one of the gift shops.
They got me all done up right, but I was pretty messed up for about an hour after doing one of the
spinning rides. I remember you telling me about that. But like the
the thing about dramamine, if you take it before, it's like a, you set yourself up and
then you never get dizzy. Yeah, well, dramamine and you're supposed to drink water before
you drink. All that stuff is awesome in hindsight, but you never think about it before the
fact. To be fair, my dad was there and he gets dizzy. Like, he got worse than I did, but he
was the one who was like, okay, Morgan, we got to take our dramine. So, I had dad making
sure I was taking everything. But yeah, Luna bars, they're really good. There's like a chocolate one
and I'm telling you it's like the most delicious snack.
And it's a protein bar.
Okay, well, bring one for me on Monday.
Okay, and you'll try it even though it's not keto?
No, I'll definitely try it.
Okay.
As long as it can be part of a food world, real.
Okay, we can do a food world.
But then I'm going to try your moon cheese.
You got to bring good a moon cheese.
And we'll do a switch off.
Not only did we do musical obsessions.
We also had Dan and Shay stop by this week.
They're in at number six.
And they're super fun guys.
Who's your favorite interview when they come in on the show?
Oh, I thought we had to pick which was better, Dan or Shea.
No, poor poor for her. She just got roast.
You were just roasting people like nobody's business today.
I mean, of all time, who's your favorite interview that we've had on the show?
Singing or interview?
Either.
It could be either.
Jake Owen's the funniest.
Singing Carrie Underwood was the most impressive in-person five feet away from her.
Yeah, that's right.
She has an insane voice.
And then you see it and you're like, holy crap.
She was really, really good.
So I'd say her for sure.
And then Jake Owen, because he likes to roast people do?
Is that the thing?
He's funny.
Sometimes I feel like he doesn't.
he doesn't even really know the mic's in front of him.
And he'll just say stuff.
You know, he doesn't, one of our clips that we play all the time is where he talked about
how he had a little house.
He was like going place to place at the time.
So he just bought one of these many houses that you see on TV commercials.
And he lived in it for however long.
But he just admitted that and he doesn't care.
He is.
And he's one of those people that makes you think it was funny because later on in this
next one we talk about the country stars who we think live the most normal lives.
And you would kind of think Jake Owen, but then you kind of look at him and he has like
all this land.
he has a boat. He has a pretty cool life, you know.
Yeah, and he plays in all the
celeb pro tours. So, I mean, he has friends that are very, very wealthy
and famous and well-known and stuff. But yeah.
I think he's the most normal guy.
Yeah. But as far as living the most normal life,
nah, I think he lives a pretty rock star life.
He does. Because you don't just get to go playing a pro M
because you're on the Bobby Bone show. You have to be
J-Go and play music, massive concerts.
And you have to be good at golf, which he is.
And you have to be really cool. I feel like.
You have to get along with people.
You really do. That's a great point.
You got to be somebody they want to hang around.
So you're like, hey, come out to this pro M.
Yeah, because otherwise, they're like, we don't need to invite him.
It's not required.
That's why Eddie doesn't get invited to any of them.
They're like, oh, do we really want all those bad jokes for 18 holes?
So far, myself, Shea, and Eddie are victims of Ray's roasting this morning.
Or give an a tally at this point.
I got some food worlds for you.
Are you ready?
I'm going to give you the best job I think I've ever seen come up.
Okay.
So Candy Funhouse, which is like a massive candy.
company is hiring a chief candy officer position, Ray, they are paying $100,000 per year.
And anyone who is five years old or older can apply.
Don't think they're going to hire a kid that young.
They may not, but they're allowing them to apply.
Because my nephew, Boomer, I mean, if they hired him, I don't even, he doesn't even do a
good job explaining what he did during the day.
I'm like, hey, man, how was school?
What'd you do?
He goes, good.
No, no, no, that didn't explain anything.
So if they really wanted him to break down this candy, and he's 14.
Well, but all they have to do is like taste test candy basically and just say like,
yes, this is good.
No, this is bad.
And they're getting paid $100,000 per year.
They can work from anywhere.
This company's in Canada, but like you can live anywhere in North America to apply.
Nice.
And you can literally be older than five years old.
So who are you pinpointing for this?
You?
I'm saying anyone, I mean, I would, listen, I would love to.
If I could eat candy all the time, I don't need that in my life.
I already eat enough candy.
But when you go to the store or the gas station, do you,
still get candy once a week.
Yes, I do.
You're insane.
I have a sweet tooth so bad, Ray.
Oh, my gosh, you're 12.
That's why I couldn't do the, I couldn't do the keto challenge.
Like, sugar is a part of my thing.
I will say, in line at the grocery store, you'll see something like, oh, those peach
o's or, I don't know, maybe a Reese's or a Snickers.
Oh, no, I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to do that, you know, but you'll see it.
But I still am not back in reverting to 12 years old like you.
No, see Ray, I'm the opposite.
I'm like, I see it.
Ooh, I should definitely get that.
And I get it.
I always need a little something sweet after I eat.
I think about it, but then I'm like, I'm not going to eat that crap.
But see, you have better self-control than I do.
I freaking love desserts.
Used to be, right, when I was growing up, I would eat dessert first when we'd go out to eat.
And then I would have my thing.
That was like my whole, my whole schick was eating dessert first.
Because some kids don't even get dessert.
You got to have it first.
Yeah, but then they'd make, it was until I, that didn't happen until I was in, like, middle school.
So at least I was mature enough to, like, understand that.
I had to eat the rest of my food.
Yeah, we couldn't even get milkshakes.
My dad would be mad.
You had to always just get water or maybe a soda, but never milkshakes were $4 or whatever.
And so he was a super cheapskate like that.
So that dessert wasn't even allowed, much less a massive dessert that you would do first.
Maybe that's why you don't eat desserts now.
It's like ingrained into you.
Sure.
If you want to psychology it.
I mean, probably because like my mom and dad love dessert.
Like they always loved it.
So they did it because they loved it too.
You know what I mean?
And your dad didn't like it.
So he put it into you.
But let's also remember, not everything's from when we were kids.
Some stuff we do was from last week.
And we just decided to start doing it.
You're not wrong.
But these two, I think they are for our specific purposes.
Okay.
But I'm just saying this job is epic.
Like $100,000 to be a chief candy officer?
And what?
There's a lot of stuff that's not involved in that description that probably sucks.
Most jobs sound amazing until you get in them.
And they suck.
not speaking from personal experience.
I was like, are we now rusting your job, right?
We're going on the list.
Okay, we're going to step away from that one.
Krispy cream.
Do you like Krispy Kreme donuts?
I do.
And that's a vibe for you?
Yeah, when they bring them by the station, I definitely try to have one.
They like melt in your mouth.
You could easily put down five and not even really think twice about it.
So you do like those.
Yeah.
Do you like desserts?
You just don't eat them.
I do, but I don't feel great at two hours later.
In the moment, sure.
but I always think down the road to let, oh, am I going to want to work out after I eat a whole bucket of
ice cream that we got for free from Bluebell? No.
Bluebell.
Have you ever been to a business where you just get cakes delivered and they're little
bunt cupcakes guy?
What?
Who made?
Where did that come from?
The other day, Reba delivered a cake.
That whole red velvet cake.
That's awesome for a birthday.
I don't feel like eating that at 10 a.m. on a Tuesday.
Hey, I do.
I will go and eat those things.
Did you have some of it?
I try to bite of it.
You're insane.
Listen, I love dessert.
If dessert gets delivered here, I have to try it.
I may not eat a whole thing, but I will try it.
Hear that, guys?
That's the way to my heart.
But Krispy Cream dropped ice cream truck donuts.
So they've got like popsicle, firecracker inspired donut.
They've got vanilla king cone inspired donut and a cream sickle inspired donut.
You don't want to get too cute with donuts and with cookies.
I feel like usually the basic one is the best one if they make it right.
Chewy, good texture.
Some of these places around town, not.
gonna name them they put you got everything out you know shy of sponge bob square pans on a cookie i'm not
gonna eat that i just want a chocolate chip cookie you like o g versions of things thank you is what you're
saying so you will not be trying these donuts absolutely not but did you like ice cream trucks growing up
did you ever go to an ice cream truck country didn't really have them dang uh my dessert heart is just
breaking all over right we're just going to move forward to number five which is uh the draft we did this
week we, you know, I mentioned it. We drafts the country artists who we think live the most
normal lives. And I think it's pretty funny because Ray's on this weekend and I won and he lost.
So I got to feed you. I tried to get him to do a practice run. What was that yesterday? And he was like,
yeah, no, Morgan, I'm not. I don't even want to do this in the first place. Yeah, if I was feeding you,
that would be a but you're not at that status yet. I mean, but you're going to, I'm going to have to be
at that status next week. You can't afford me to be your butler. Yeah, you're right. I can't.
I can barely afford myself at this point.
But for one day, I will feed you.
You will.
And we're going to find out.
Hey, if you have suggestions for what Ray should feed me, it has to be like a breakfast food,
let me know because I do normally have like a smoothie in the morning and that's going
to be kind of weird.
So I got to find something else to eat.
Like a finger food because they're going to get gross with it.
Yeah.
And I'm going to have to like face feed you.
Well, it's either like I eat a smoothie or like a protein bar and neither one of those
is really going to work.
Hopefully that everybody gets bored with it after about 10 seconds and then we can just
go back to our jobs.
I mean, you would think, because you also have to be by the board to actually do the show.
You also have to type on your computer, so you can't really be eating the whole time.
It's going to be an issue is what that's going to be.
But I want to know what you think about something that I did recently.
And I also want to hear about an adult friend that you made.
All right.
So I was out with some girlfriends this past weekend, and a guy wanted to buy me a drink.
And I was like, you know, fine, whatever.
And, but I had to go to the bathroom while we were waiting for.
my drink so I went to the bathroom and while I was in the bathroom the drink came.
Sketchy situation for a girl. Okay. Like a drink comes. A lot could happen to that drink in the time
that I was at the bathroom not watching. Yes. Right. And so I did not think twice about it and I said,
I'm sorry, you're going to have to take a few drinks of that before I have it and I need to know.
And he kind of looked at me like, what? And I was like, no, I need to know that that drink does not have any
type of drugs of roofies of any kind in it.
And I like your tone. Your tone is funny, flirty.
So you're saying it, please do it, but I'm not super.
Yeah, I'm not like, I'm not whatever.
I'm just like, this is just legit.
Like, I'm looking out for myself.
I mean, you're not crazy, girl.
You're totally normal.
I am normal.
Okay, right?
You're not crazy.
But this was savage.
This was savage in me.
I was literally like, you're going to drink that drink.
And he kind of like hesitated for a minute.
And I was like, you put something in there?
And he was like, no.
And then he took the drink.
And then I was safe to have the drink.
And he sucked it down.
And didn't leave you any more?
No, he did.
He gave it to me.
And then I was like, okay, cool.
Great chat.
Bye-bye.
That's the date.
That was it.
And I ran away.
Is that what it was?
Yeah, literally.
I mean, it was fine.
He was a nice guy, but I was just out with my girlfriend's trying to have a fun time.
And you always got to be careful going in, you know, trying to intertwine with the girlfriends.
Because usually it's that time where you guys want to vent, talk about jobs, guys, love life.
You don't need a dude in there trying to do small talk.
No, and I love my girls' nights.
I have to be in a different head space if I'm going out to talk to people and like flirt or do things.
Like if I'm out with my girls, I'm having a girl's night.
That's what I'm doing.
And when you go out, you have your group, your whole entourage core group of people that you know in your head.
You know how you have to, how you want to be in that night.
Then a guy comes up and he totally throws the whole thing out of whack.
And you're like, I wasn't prepared to be this type of me.
I wanted to be me with my girls.
And then you're like balancing like all of your friends.
And then the one person that's not your friend.
And then it's weird.
Awkward.
Yes.
always awkward. Fringe. So yeah, I had this drink, made him drink it, and then I took it back,
and then I basically ran away. Poor dude. That was what happened. I was savage to him,
and then savage twice. But you were talking to me about an adult friend? You made recently?
I don't make them too often, sad. No, adults don't. We don't. People go to their jobs. You go home,
you're married, if you are or not, and you have your families and stuff. So making a new adult
friend is crazy. It's kind of a big deal. But I was at the golf course, and I was on the
chipping part of it. And I was just, you know, working on my game a little bit. And a dude comes
up to me, similar age, tattooed up. He had Tiger Woods gear on. So automatically in my world,
you know, in the golf, if you got Tiger Woods stuff, you've got some cash. You're making
your swag. I like people with swag. So I haven't got that Tiger Wood stuff yet. So maybe Bayer
hears that for the birthday. Anyways, coming up, right? So he's got all the, all the wood stuff on.
And he goes, hey, dude, you want to do a chip off? So we're just like going back and forth
chipping. I mean, it kind of feels like we're 21 again, you know, doing these chipping days.
I'm a 36 year old man.
And we'd get done with that.
And then he goes, man, that was really fun.
I have a job rights, work from home.
And so I got a lot of free time.
He goes, does your schedule allow you to golf sometimes during the day?
And I go, yeah, yeah, yeah.
He goes, hey, man, I'd love to get your number.
And then we can meet up and play golf.
And I'm like, oh, my gosh, I haven't given out my number to while.
You got a friend asked out.
I got a friend to ask.
Here we go.
And so I gave my number.
We did the little thing.
He put me as golf ray in his phone.
So all he has to do is type in golf.
And then he'll see all his golf buddies.
And he goes, let's play in the next week.
And I'm like, yeah, bro.
Boom.
Boom.
We're doing, you know, we're doing daps.
All the hot, all the hand things.
That's what Ray was doing.
But it was sweet.
Made an adult friend.
Dang.
Like, did you kind of get a little butterflies when he asked for your number?
No, no, no.
No, no.
I got some other guys I play golf with.
But yeah, you can never have too many golf buddies.
And then from the tattoos and the Tiger Woods gear, he seems cool.
Okay.
So.
Seems cool.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
But you haven't hung out with him since yet.
And golf, you're in a, when you do play it with somebody, you then sit.
So we go from, you know, just having a casual encounter to you sit right next to this person for three hours where there's no space in the cart.
Dudes are so, dudes are so interesting to me.
Like, it just, I love it because like, it's not often that that happens with women.
Like, it's hard to get too strange women to feel comfortable enough to, like, talk to each other.
And I do feel like guys are really good at that and that they're just like, what's up?
What's up?
We both like golf.
Cool.
Let's hang out.
Exactly.
It's literally as simple as that with dudes.
And that's what that story just told me right there.
And I love it for you though, because you're like smiling.
You're excited.
Adult friend.
Do you have a lot of adult like guy friends?
Because like once you get married and stuff, things kind of change.
Your life changes.
Yeah.
Do you still have a lot of like good guy friends?
Yeah.
I mean, I always keep in touch with Billy in Texas.
me and him text all the time, FaceTime all the time.
And we're friends with each other's families and stuff like that.
So he loves talking to Laura Beezer and stuff like that.
But now at our apartment complex, it's like almost very similar type.
Like there's doctors that live there.
So I've made a friend with a dude that works at Vandy.
And then our girl downstairs, she works in the bar industry.
And so she's outgoing and friendly at the pool.
So, I mean, yeah, we have a really close girl that lives below us.
My friend from Vandy, Justin, I've been hanging out with him now for a year and a half.
So yeah, we're making solid friends at our apartment.
I love that. And it's not just like couple friends. You're making like all kinds of different friends.
Yeah. And I told stories before too. I mean, sometimes I leave the pool early.
Laura comes home. She's like, hey, I met this guy and we were playing beer pong. Cool.
Sometimes she leaves the pool early. I roll home. I'm like, hey, brought a chick.
I mean. We're going to rephrase that real quick, right? Because that's not what you meant.
No, one time I brought our friend Ashley over. I was like, hey, Ashley was in the pool. I brought her back.
Next day, my wife's like, um, I don't know. That just felt weird. My bad.
I was going to say when you just said it, it felt weird.
My bad.
Oh, my goodness.
Well, I'm glad you made a new dude friend.
Yep.
It sounds like it's going to be a good friend,
and I'm excited to hear when you hang out with him next.
Yeah, until I text him, and then I don't get a text back.
So you haven't texted him yet, and he hasn't texted you yet.
No, because I don't really want to play with him.
You know, it's got to be a day.
I'm totally free.
I kind of got some stuff on the agenda, so.
And I don't know.
Are you going to play for 18 holes where that's five-hour commitment?
Or are you going to pay just nine holes?
where it could be an hour and a half commitment.
So once I have a clear day, boom, I hit him up.
So if he's listening, man, hey, text is coming.
And his name's Bobby.
I'm like, dude, you may.
You sure it's not our Bobby?
No, but hey, buddy.
Tiger Woods.
You may need to change your name.
I cannot have you have the same name as my boss.
Do not make him go by Bobby number two, Ray.
I swear.
I hear that name so many times during the day.
I don't know if your name can be Bobby.
I'm going to rename you.
You could maybe call him Bob.
No, God.
You said guys are simple.
I'm going to call him golf, dude.
I'm going to call him Tiger because he's got all the tiger gear on.
You made a new friend and you may lose him now.
I'm not really sure.
But I'm excited for you.
It sounds like you're very happy about it.
Yes.
But I think he might be your backup plans.
So we'll see you.
Okay.

Hey, everyone.
It's Cal Penn.
I'm the host of Earsay, the Audible and I-Heart Audio Book Club.
Club this week on the podcast. I'm sitting down with Ray Porter, the narrator of Andy Weir's
audiobook Project Hail Mary, massive sci-fi adventure about survival and science. And what happens
when you wake up alone very far from Earth? I really had to make a decision because I caught
myself getting that frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm narrating some of these
sections. And it's like, okay, yo, yeah, yeah, yo, is this indulgent? And I really thought
about it. I was like, no, at this point, it would kind of be betrowered.
betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it.
But there's places in this book that deeply emotionally affected me and I left it on the mic.
That's great.
Because it served the story.
People will say like, oh my God, I cried at the end.
It's like, yeah, dude, me too.

So I finally watched Beavis and Butthead.
It took me a little bit to find it out on the internet.
I need to know, Ray.
Like I reviewed the show.
That was like a big thing this week.
It came in at number four.
But Ray, did you watch the show growing up?
No, it was bad.
Parents, for the most part, didn't let their kids watch it.
Bones, Pops wasn't around.
His mom let him do whatever he wanted.
That's why he was able to watch it.
Eddie must have cool parents.
My parents would never even,
if they walked in the room and I had Beavis and Butthead on, you got in trouble.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah, that's what I was like trying.
That was a point I was trying to make when I was reviewing this.
I was like, how was this allowed to be on television?
But my friends would watch it and tell me about it so I'd hear all this stuff.
Hey, butt end.
Hey, Beavis.
I still to this day, I don't even know if I've seen an episode.
Really?
I've seen clips and stuff, but we weren't allowed to.
But you have like the idea of what it is.
Oh, yeah.
Would you ever try and watch it now?
No, I'm 36 years old.
I'm not watching Beavis and Butthead.
I mean, I don't know, right?
Just like we were saying, you know, dudes are simple.
And that show gives us.
a lot of context about guys.
Very true.
I, yeah, I did not like it.
You'll hear my review if you listen to the Best Bits part two, but that's not what I want
to know.
Ray, have you watched anything recently that you really liked?
Maybe you didn't like.
So my thing is, my M.O.
I watch shows passively with my wife, Beezer.
So she just watches them.
She picks all the shows.
And if I really like one, then I'll tune in.
It hasn't been a while since I've tuned in.
We're watching Big Brother.
So I'm really tuned into that one.
That's still one of your favorites.
It's been a favorite for years.
It's great because I know I could be on it and probably win it.
But I told her to text me the names of the show she's been watching and then I can kind of
get my input based on me seeing it to the left of my.
You're passive watching.
I'm watching my phone.
I'm like reading stuff and then I'll just look over at it.
But yeah, so Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, Season 2, it's chicks from all the different seasons.
Where are they even at?
They're in, I don't even know.
I don't know.
But oh, they're at the one lady's house in New York because she called it her place.
You really have been watching passively.
She called it Blue Manor.
But yeah, so these people have been kicked off the show, some of them.
And I guess now that they, producers see they're funny again, like Tamara Judge, I guess she's
going to be on the California Housewives again, Orange County.
Okay, so Housewives Girl's Trip, is that the same show?
Same show, but they just bring the All-Star-ish from every season and they all hang out
together.
Gosh, there's so many Housewives now?
Okay.
So that's that one.
Then she's watching this one called Virgin River.
So good.
Yes.
It's ridiculous.
But it is a calm, very chill show.
All these people are over 50.
It is calm.
Listen, Ray, I'm with her on this.
They just drop season four on Netflix.
And it's so good.
It's like a, it's a really good, like, low-key, but also kind of twisted show.
Where's it filmed?
Maybe Vermont or like Oregon or something.
It's really cool.
There's mountains and rivers and gorgeous Canada.
Canada.
We looked it up.
I was going to say it's like, it's beautiful, all the scenery in it.
But it is.
It's a woman show.
It's small town USA and Beezer said it makes her want to move to a small town.
Yes.
Because it like the people are so nice and the show just makes you feel really good.
It also makes you feel like every emotion.
You get angry.
You get sad and you get happy.
It's all the things.
So you know what?
I agree with that one.
But you got nothing on that?
No, that was really it.
You have nothing.
You have no input.
Okay.
The other one is murders at White House.
Farm. I don't think I've heard of that one. And that one, I may have totally zoned out because
I have nothing. But I know that these shows all put her in a good mood. Sometimes they make her cry. So I know
they're good. I'm not just reading titles of nothing. Yeah. Okay. That one I have no input on it.
You got nothing. Because I really believe I zoned out for an entire hour. Okay.
Summer, I turned pretty. Yes. God, I love Laura. So it's all these kids are in high school and
middle school and they go to the lake and party and they'll get in trouble for drinking and they get in
trouble with their parents. It seems like a middle school type show. Okay, but it's great. Did you watch
some of this one or do you even remember? No, I'm watching and kids, they're learning about dating.
They're learning about the police and now you can get in trouble with underage drinking.
Yes and no. You're missing some points here. I'm missing the major things. Okay, I binge watch this one in a night.
Like, I loved it. Wow. So good. It is. It is.
Again, it is another, I love, like, feel-good shows.
This is a coming-of-age show is what it's about.
It's a girl that, like, she finally gets to a point where she feels super pretty,
and she's having this summer where the guy that she has adored for all these years
is finally paying attention to her.
It's really what it's about.
And then she's, like, coming of age throughout the series.
And also, there's, like, plot lines with the parents, and there's things going on there.
And it's just, like, I didn't think at first I was like, okay, this might be really cheesy.
And don't get me wrong.
I love a good cheesy, like, just.
romantic fun show. But it made me cry. The end of this series made me cry. I said multiple times,
what? Are we in middle school again? What are we watching right now? The kids just go jump in the
ocean together and wrestle around. I remember doing that when I was 12. It is. We're adults now.
I'm telling you, it's a good show. Okay. It's on Amazon and I'm going to come hang out with Laura and watch
these shows because we watch the same thing. But I hear you on the good, good feelings feel? Yeah.
Because it puts me to sleep because it's a relaxing type family oriented.
I don't like, I'm not good at watching like thriller, murder type things.
Like, I like feel good stuff.
And that's all Laura's allowed to watch from five until nine because that's when I'm trying
to fall asleep.
So she's not allowed to watch murders and loud shows.
It has to be very calming, chill shows.
Even these, there's one of those that she mentioned, though, that there's murder in the title.
Well, maybe we murders at White House Farm.
That might be the one then that.
You don't watch.
I have no idea, but yeah, you're right.
So that one she should probably stop watching because she's not allowed to watch
loud shows when I'm trying to go to sleep.
Loud shows.
That's funny.
Well, listen, I'm, hey, you know what, Laura, if you hear this, I'm telling you,
I'm with you on two of those.
The summer I turned pretty.
It's on Amazon Prime.
It's a great show.
Ray may not understand.
He may just understand parts of it, but it's a great show.
Pretty basic plot line.
Listen, it's good.
I could have written that movie.
Okay.
You're giving it such a hard time when it was a really good show.
Guy and girl jump and pool.
Guy and girl sneak out or go to the lake for the first time because they've been in the winter.
I'm going to tell you something after this because I don't want to spoil on the best bits.
I'm going to tell you something.
I haven't said the end and you're going to be like, oh, crap.
Because the girl goes, oh my gosh, this is my first time to see the lake in a while.
And then they go and wrestle in the lake for 10 minutes.
Okay.
Yes.
There's like a romance side to it.
But there's also a really emotional plot line that I'm telling you.
When I tell you at the end of this, you're going to be like, oh, they did not know that.
I totally miss that one.
Yeah, clearly.
I skipped over the emotional plotline.
We're hearing a passive husband right now who is watching Joe's.
That's what we just heard.
But yeah, there was also another one that I watched the movie Persuasion on Netflix with Dakota Johnson.
It's like the Jane Austen movie.
And I really wanted to like it, but it was rough.
Not going to lie.
I'm not going to lie.
And that was a cheesy romantic movie.
See, I can admit when they're not, you know, amazing.
I love Dakota Johnson.
and I think she's super talented in the movie.
But overall, I just, like, I could have gone without watching it.
And there's a lot to choose from now, so pass on that one.
Yeah, like, I would watch Bridgerton over Persuasion.
Oh, Bridgeton.
So good.
And the next season's coming.
You hated that, and I love it.
But I'm guessing your wife liked Bridgeton.
No, she didn't even watch that.
She didn't watch it?
She wasn't a fan?
Dang.
Because I had to watch it for the show bit and just wasn't good.
Didn't it?
Ah, you're killing me, man.
Let's go ride horses and dance every night of the week.
That's all they ever did.
Can I quote you?
What is you fancy?
I don't even know how they talk.
Is that your British accent?
I watched it four years ago.
Done with that show.
Okay, well, this movie is kind of like Bridgeton,
but it's like a Jane Austen movie.
It has Dakota Johnson and Henry Golding in it,
and I did.
I really wanted to like it, but didn't love it.
So I'd watch the summer I turned pretty over persuasion.
Okay.
Is that helpful?
But then coming in at number three,
we got two bits happening right here,
because Amy almost got scammed again.
Eddie pretty much did get scammed.
We're not really sure.
Just a lot of scamming type situations.
Before I ask you, I have some random questions,
just totally random questions to ask you, Ray.
But have you been scammed recently?
I need to, like, put that out there.
Beezer did.
Got an email that said from Bitcoin saying PayPal,
it was like some $1,000 purchase.
She thought it was me, was not me,
but it was somebody doing a fake email from PayPal.
And then once you click on it
start doing that stuff. That's when they take advantage of you. And then she even got on the phone
with the guy and he tried to take over her phone. And then she knew it was a scam when he goes,
well, let's also go on to your laptop and check that out. Didn't lose any money. Thank God. She changed
all her passwords. Did all that before it got bad. But it could have got real bad. Oh, man. They're so
clever these days, though. But the PayPal looked exactly like it. But if you looked at it closely,
it was PayPal.a-u-u-d-z. But it looked, all the graphics and everything,
exactly like PayPal.
Well, here's the thing that's hard for me.
And this is why I don't give anybody, like, besides the artist one,
if you're getting scammed by an artist at this point,
like we have sent so many messages out into the universe.
I don't really know how that keeps happening.
But any other scam besides, like, the artist ones,
I don't fault people for it because they're so good at it now.
Like, you could get a text or something that looks exactly like something that
your bank made said to you.
You could get an email from a company that you just bought something from.
It looks legit.
it. Coming from somebody who is on social media, digital media all the time, and I can
see all the scams, like, there are times that I have to question things. And I am incredibly
like technology, I know what I'm doing. That says a lot. Yeah. So like, I don't give people a hard time
anymore. Granted, Eddie's happened in person, a little different situation. Terrifying. And Amy's
was on the internet, but I'm just like, I just can't give people a hard time anymore because they're
just so legit. Scammers scare them freaking crap.
out of me. Good job scammers if you guys are listening. I mean not really. Please stop. Um,
random questions. Okay. Totally like just off the cuff. What is one random word you always say?
I love the word vibe. Vibe. You love vibes.
People be like, hey man, you want to go, you want to go to this place for dinner? And I'll say,
yeah, yeah, that's my vibe. Or, uh, or, uh, oh, what did you think of what did you think of my friend?
Sarah, was she nice?
Ah, she's not really my vibe.
Those are the vibe.
You can use it anytime where you're going to dinner, whether you're at the pool.
Is this a new word for you if you've been saying it for a while?
No, no, no.
It's kind of my, you know, probably started it in California, but I'm a surfer type dude.
So it's like, it's hang loose.
It's that type of lingo.
Can you give me a hang loose and a vibe in the same sentence, please?
Yeah, so if you all want to hang loose later, we can catch a vibe, man.
Catch that wave all night if you all want to.
Dang, I was just transported to California.
quick there right thank you oh man what is my one of my favorite words to use is nugget
like a nugget of information or like i call my dog nugget a lot okay like that's really where
it started and now i just call like if somebody makes me irritated but i'm not mad i'll say you're
a nugget wow that's like my nice way of being mad that's very interesting i hope you're going to do
that use that word in public only when it's you and your dog at the park why
it's not a bad thing like I'm a nugget
if you call me a nugget at brunch I'd be like
WTF I don't know where it came from either
like there was just one day Romeo's doing something I was like you're such a
nugget like I wanted to be mad and I couldn't
you know when somebody tells you to use like a better
instead of cussing they replace that word it's almost like
nugget is mine I get it but you replaced it with just a weird word
I don't know nobody uses unless they're at the McDonald's drive-thru line
well I don't even eat chicken nuggets right
I still use the word.
Oh, man.
You know what?
Fine.
Just because yours is normal
and you became a surfer dude
when you said it
doesn't mean nugget was bad.
And if you go through the drive-thru line
and you're getting nuggets
and your dogs in the passenger seat,
your dog's going to think you're yelling at the dog
but you're really just making an order.
It's kind of yelling.
It's just like you're nugget.
Sometimes it's nice.
Sometimes it's friendly.
Interesting.
So your neighbors, though,
if they hear nugget, they know you're mad.
You just took it in a different direction, right?
Okay, if your life was a sitcom, which one would it be?
Everybody loves Raymond.
He has the same name as me.
His brother's name's Robert.
My brother's name's Robert.
Ray Romano, Raymond in the show, has two twin boys.
I'm a twin and a daughter, and I have a sister.
The dad's name is Frank.
My dad's middle name is Frank.
The grandma's name is Marie.
My sister's name is Maria.
What?
Did they like make this show after your life?
They really didn't.
I need royalties, and I'm actually going to sue them.
When did this show?
show come out? When was it like? Well, we, my family came out before the show, so they owe us.
That's what I'm asking. Thank you very much. I'd say in the 90s, 2000s. But you were all born
before this movie came out? Way, yeah, yeah. You can't say way. You're not that much older.
But so you guys need to, yeah, you guys better lawyer up and everybody loves Raymond because we are
coming after you. That's my family. Oh my God, that's a good one. And you binge watch that show,
you liked it? It was good. Yeah. Even though they stole your life, you
to love it. I was like, dang, the
Raymond dude looks like me.
And my name's Raymond.
The hell do they cast for this? Why didn't they just put me in it?
Your official name is Raymond, right?
Yeah. So why didn't you try and do that?
Like, when you were doing the whole Ray, Raymundo thing,
why didn't you do Raymond?
Because Ramundo's more
people
that are
Mexican.
We're pushing this lie. I don't think you have a reason.
They go, Raymondo is a Spanish version of Raymond.
And I went to Costa Rica.
and my name was Ray Mundo there, and I found out through 23 of me that I do, I do have some Mexican in me, so 1%.
So Ray Mundo.
Bam.
The logic is not really there, but I appreciate you telling your story.
But when we go, if you ever see me in Spanish-speaking cultures, Ramundo is the normalcy.
A little weird here on the show.
But like your normal life is not in Mexico.
Maybe it is someday.
And they looked at me and said, your name's not Raymond.
Your name's Raymundo.
And so I'm Ramundo.
In case you want to know the backstory on Ramundo's name,
even though he is legitimately on his birth certificate, Raymond.
There it is.
Oh, my goodness.
Okay.
Which animal would you want to be reincarnated as?
I'd say bobcat.
I was obsessed with them when I was younger.
They'd always...
So random.
We'd have to do reports and stuff.
And for whatever reason, I'm a big cat guy.
So I guess that's why I gravitate to the bobcat.
It's fierce.
it looks awesome
Give me the bobcat
A bobcat
But is a bobcat
Like prey
For any type of animal?
Probably
Bear
I bet a bear could eat
I don't know
I think the bobcat
might be on the prowl all the time
I mean they're definitely on the prow
But they have to be prey to something right
I mean the sun
I don't know
The weather
Not a lot's going after a bobcat
Oh my gosh
Mine would be a sloth
So I could sleep all the time
There it is
Move very slow
That's a motivational animal right there.
Listen, they live the life.
They hang in trees.
They eat food and they sleep.
You ever see it go to a zoo and you see the sloth exhibit?
No, because they're boring.
They're not boring.
They're so cool.
And then they start moving.
Have you ever seen Zootopia?
Yeah.
And the sloth in that movie?
I just love them.
I know.
They're so cute.
They are.
They really are.
And they're little, like they're not really cuddly.
Maybe, you know what?
It'd either be a sloth or koala.
But koalas deal with all the wildfires.
That's true. Both like to sleep though. Both are cute looking.
And yeah, they're snugly.
There you go.
Yeah, see, those are good ones.
What era do you wish you lived your life during?
I think I was born in the wrong era. I would say I'm more of a more of a 60s guy.
Why the 60s?
Wasn't that peace in love, man? Everybody was free.
I thought that was the 70s.
I thought I was like.
The hippie movement? I think that was the 70s.
What was the summer of 69?
Yeah, like going into the 70s.
Yeah, I think that's the thing.
I missed it.
I was born in the wrong era.
I wasn't supposed to be born in the 80s.
I'm more of a 60s guy.
You wish you were a hippie is what you're saying.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, because most of the time at home, shirts off.
So I can live with that hippie culture.
I think they used to just walk around almost naked.
Or wearing like a lot of colors.
Would you wear a lot of colors?
Yes.
Yeah, that's your vibe.
The neon's when they came in, I started going board, you know, the shorts.
The chubbies rocked.
I got green.
I got orange.
Camo, that's not really bright.
Yeah, I got all the colors.
Okay, so yes, love that.
Would you, if you had the choice to go back in time or forward in time, which would you do?
I'm going to go, oh, forward in time is terrifying.
Into the future.
Hell no.
I'm going back just to relive.
I don't know, some of my childhood memories, maybe to see my grandparents when they were younger.
That would be fascinating.
The future?
I'm terrified of the future.
Are you? Not really, but I'd rather go back.
Dang. See, I'd rather go to the future. I want to see what life would be like after I'm gone.
Like, as far as future, like the technology, what happens? Do we ever make it to other planets?
You'll see the web girl that replaced you. She's a lot more efficient and better at multitasking and friendlier.
Oh my gosh. Another roast.
And she has blonde hair, though.
Oh, my goodness. I was talking like way into the future array. Like maybe in the 3,000's.
Oh, she's courteous.
Look at all the social work she helps me with.
My Atlanta.
Oh, she helps me with tweets.
And I would go, if I chose an era to live in, though, I'd do the 50s because I love
the Great Gatsby.
Is that the 50s?
Is that right?
Scuba?
He's not listening.
He would know.
He would know.
He always has weird facts information.
You're close.
You're within a decade.
You have to be.
It's either 50s or 60s.
I don't know.
Or 40s.
Well, where they're doing, you know where they did all the crazy dances and they wore all the fun
fringe dresses and the fly.
lapper girls and stuff.
Yes.
That's my era.
The Great Gatsby era.
Yeah, what is that era?
You are looking at 1922.
Oh, dang, the 20s.
We got all to the ages and the 20s.
I thought that was the 50s.
I suck at history, okay?
Geography, history, basically anything.
The roaring 20s.
The roaring 20s.
I knew you were off.
You know, you said you're like one decade off.
Okay.
Two.
So bad.
The roaring 20s.
Fouring 20s, yes.
I would love to live in the Great Gatsby era.
That just, that's all that.
You want to talk about a vibe?
That's a vibe.
You would do good there.
Yeah, I love that.
And you know what?
You would do good living in your past, right?
Thank you in the 60s.
And in the 60s.
In the 70s, you should look that up.
What is it?
What is the hippie era?
Because I really feel like it's the 70s.
Like 69 to the 70s.
Hippie era.
It could be wrong.
Pulling it up.
Because I'm not smart clearly.
Counterculture of the 1960s.
You're right.
You nailed it.
Exactly. See? It's fine. I just suck at all subjects that I learned in school.
It says 70s too, so it's both decades.
Okay. All right. If you had $1 million for only one hour, what would you do with it?
I'd go to Vegas. I'd fly. Can I fly somewhere and then do something?
You can do whatever you want, I think as long as it's within the hour of time span.
I'd fly to Vegas and I would put the million on craps. I'd bet craps.
and hopefully increase it to around three to five million,
and then I'd come back to Nashville and buy a dope house.
Anything you could get that all done in one hour?
Well, the craps I would do, you said I could use it.
So I would use it in an hour.
I could triple it within an hour easily.
And you'd get three million.
Three to five million.
I'd leave at five million.
And then come back here, get a dope house.
What if you lost it all on craps?
Well, then that's a sucky way to spend a million dollars.

Hey, everyone, it's Cal Penn.
I'm the host of Earsay, the Audible and I Heart Audiobook Club.
This week on the podcast, I am sitting down with Ray Porter, the narrator of Andy Weir's
audiobook Project Hail Mary, massive sci-fi adventure about survival and science, and what happens
when you wake up alone very far from Earth?
I really had to make a decision because I caught myself getting that frog in my throat
and starting to get teary as I'm not.
narrating some of these sections. And it's like, okay, yo, yeah, yo, is this indulgent? And I really thought
about it. I was like, no, at this point, it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the
listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that
deeply emotionally affected me. And I left it on the mic. That's great. Because it served the story.
People will say like, oh my God, I cried at the end. It's like, yeah, dude, me too.

I had to roast you back at some point, Ray, and that was all I had.
So that was my roasting that you're going to lose your million dollars on crabs.
Coming in at number two, Scoo with Steve announced that he and his wife are having another baby.
And also, the debate in their house is about him getting a vasectomy.
She wants him to get it done.
he does not want to get it done
Ray.
Yo.
Would you get a vasectomy
if your wife asked you to?
I already got one done.
Wait, you really did?
No.
Why did you say that?
None of your business
if I have one or not.
Okay, but would you?
Like, say your wife asked you,
would you get one done?
Sure.
Ray is on one today.
I don't even know what to do with him.
My wife can't have kids,
so there would be no reason
for me to ever get one.
But, yeah, I'll get up a sector.
But like she asked you too.
you would. Yeah, yeah. And then I would ask her to get her tubes tied. No, well, she's,
she can't have kids. She's actually going to have that surgery very soon where she,
so she could actually still have kids, but her cancer is where she would, it could actually
come back if she tried to have kids. Yeah. Okay. So she's going to have that. So yeah,
it would be if she, she's going through it. So of course I would do that. Okay. But she hasn't asked me.
Well, maybe we just put an idea in her head. I don't know. She doesn't want me to.
Well, is that what you're going to say? You're like, if she's,
wants me to do this, I would want her to do.
No, it was going to be funny, but it was like a very guy
comment. What was your guy comment? No, no, it's not funny.
No, make your guy locker room comment, Ray.
I was going to say triple D boobs.
You are. You're a mess.
Well, you know what? We're just going to leave it that you were very sweet
and that you're like, I would do it.
We'll leave it at that.
Okay. Ignore the rest.
Are there any other life updates going on with you?
Oh, man.
wife, anything crazy going on?
If we're going to do the living situation needs an update, we have re-signed at our apartment
for another year.
Okay, that's exciting.
A house, it was a rental that we're going to go to, ended up not opening up.
So another year, we love the apartment, living on the west side.
We've made so many friends there, and we work with the complex.
They love us.
It's mutual.
There's a coffee maker.
They just installed a wine bar.
You can just go down there with your cup, pay $5 and get a glass of wine.
them. They need a hot tub. Other than that, we love life there on the west side.
Well, maybe in the next year you can get them to get a hot tub. Yeah, I'm pretty buddy, buddy,
honestly, and they listen to everything I say. So that actually might be a Monday morning meeting.
They're like, why did you call this? Hot tub, baby. Everything you say. Right. Okay, so are you
guys still getting your deal to situation going on? Yeah, they give us a rent discount. Can't say the amount
because there's a hierarchy. So my wife's actually the leader. So everybody gets paid a different amount.
I actually get paid zero. I just help her.
you're just benefiting off of your wife right now.
Correct.
I'm using her for the rent credit.
That's what it is.
That's why I married her.
I was saying you're already married at this point.
What's mine is yours, right?
Is that what happens in marriage?
It is.
Well, that's a good live update.
If you're happy there.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
We're in no rush.
And we heard you just wait a little bit longer housing situation.
I mean, not to get too boring,
but her dad's into the industry and construction.
Particle board, usually $5.
it's $45 now.
So that alone is a reason to just let it go down.
Whatever it's called, the bubble pop, bubble burst, inflation, great depression.
I don't know what we're waiting for.
But when it comes, you'll know.
Because we're getting a house.
Are you guys still planning to build one?
Yeah.
Because our father, we went to a house, cars wrapped around it.
He goes, not doing this.
I could easily build you guys a house brand new for this exact same price.
Got to find a spot in the country.
which we're looking.
So trying to find some land.
Not actively.
But if we just drive by a spot and it's a nice piece of land, bam.
Then maybe that peaks our interest.
Who knows?
I got you.
I got you.
Okay.
Good life update there, right?
I appreciate it.
Okay, I want to know something to.
There's a hot take situation happening on the internet.
You know when you go out to a restaurant now post-COVID, kind of still in it, but post-COVID,
and they have the QR menus at restaurants.
Do you prefer the old school?
like paper, you know, laminated menu over a QR code menu.
Which one do you prefer?
Yeah, I'm a weird dude.
Never really did the QR.
It annoys a crap out of me.
So I'd say I could count it on one hand the amount of QR codes I've done on my phone.
Usually I'll look at my bazers for a second or I don't even do menu.
Do you guys have cassidias?
Yeah, we do.
Cool.
I'll get those.
So I'm limiting myself as to what's on the menu.
Do you guys have Mikulabaltra?
Cool.
I'll get that.
I really don't even look at menus.
You don't look at menus for me?
I know.
So I'm probably missing out.
There's some amazing world out there that I'm not experiencing, but I have my go-to
stuff that I love.
Love Mexican food.
Love a good beer.
Maybe Beezer goes, hey, there's actually these really cool espresso martinis.
Let's get those.
All right, let's do it.
She actually knows what I want better than what I want.
So usually she'll just tell me something to order and I'll order it.
But yeah, not a QR, dude.
That's amazing.
You're not an either, dude.
You don't do either menu.
Now that I think of it, I don't really know if I even opened up the ones back in the day.
Oh my gosh.
That's hilarious, especially because, right, I am the person who looks at the menu before I go somewhere.
Okay.
That's like my vibe.
So most of the time I don't even need a menu when I get there.
I already know what I'm getting.
That's smart.
But that's being vegetarian.
Like, I just always have to find an option.
If people suggest something, I'm like, okay, is there something I can eat here?
So I'm just used to having to look it up.
I like that.
And so then you're ready to order when you go to a restaurant.
Yeah, and I don't like to wait.
Like by the time, I swear, every time I go to a restaurant, by the time I sit down, like, I'm starving.
And I'm like, get that food order in.
You say that when you're on a date?
No.
The first thing you say on the date is get that food order.
And he's like, oh my gosh, this girl's going to balloon.
If I, no, right, right?
I swear.
I swear you're going to get slapped today.
No, most of the times first dates and stuff are drinks or whatever anyway.
That's always the perfect first date.
Yeah.
So, like, it's, no, like, when I go out with.
my girlfriends, my family, something. I'm like, let's go. We got to get an appetizer something in
because your girl is hungry. Yeah, and I almost feel like the waiter and waitress need to know
app time. Don't start with just the waters. Guys, I'm going to just get the waters real quick and then
I'll come back. No, no, no, no, no. I'm giving you about two other things to get. I need a beer
and I need this appetizer. Yep. Please do that for me. That's what I would do. When I was a server
at Buffalo Wild Wings, every time I'd be like, what do you want to drink? We want to start off with any
apps. Cool. Get it all. We get that started. I just like, I love to be in a
server because I always gave what I always wanted when I would be a guess somewhere.
You know?
Of course.
Yeah, that was the vibe.
Okay, well, that was not a hot debate with us because you don't even use menus.
I didn't expect that one.
But coming in at number one, big thing happened on the show this week.
There is an acting opportunity for lunchbox.
He freaked out.
We don't really know many details.
All we know is Bobby and Scuba Steve have been working on it for a long time.
and he's getting a chance to go audition for a show.
And so you can hear that whole bit on the Best Bits Part 2,
which is just the bits.
But you've got your music video this weekend for vacation part 2.
Yep.
So we're going all the way to Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama line.
So in that area, dope house, almost Ozark-type setting,
trees all around, huge lake.
There's a dope boat.
I mean, it almost looks like a yacht.
They got parked on that thing.
And then we're going to just film for the whole day.
Abby, Beezer, me, Eric Dodd,
And then a whole, to fill a music video, you need random people.
So there's going to be random people there too.
Oh, so it's a whole like situation going on by the time you get there.
Yeah, they're hooking us up with a sprinter van and we're going there.
An hour and a half drive.
Boom, we got drinks the whole way, driver.
Go have fun.
Film for 12 hours.
Come home.
Continue drinking.
Pass out.
There you go.
Dang.
Are you going to be able to make it through the whole music video?
Because, you know, if you start drinking early, I don't think you make it all the way to the night.
Yeah.
I talk a big game.
but I don't even think we're going to drink more in a couple because we have to do the filming.
We're not trying to make it look all fuzzy the whole time.
I was going to say like I've seen Ray on a day drinking day.
And by about five o'clock, he's having a real good time.
Yeah, the theme of it, I believe is boats, hose, you know, stuff like that.
Okay, boats and a hose.
I don't feel like that's what you actually meant to say.
But, I mean, we can, maybe we're going to be faky drinking a little bit because there's a, a seltzer sponsors involved in it.
So if you see whenever the video comes out, if you see drinking, it's probably being faked.
I don't believe that.
I'm telling you.
There's going to be so many takes.
You can't just keep for 12 hours and then still look good on camera.
But we're going to have our tans on.
We're doing the chubby shorts.
I got some dope shirts that I'm going to be rocking from men's warehouse.
So we're all good to go.
Men's warehouse and chubby shorts.
I'm trying to picture what you are going to be wearing.
Might not be men's warehouse.
Where the heck?
It was Amazon.
So don't know the exact brand.
Is it a button down?
Yeah, it's a, so the look is on a lake.
I don't know if you know this.
Is it like a beachy button down?
Yes. And it's kind of see-through and it's long sleeve and you roll up the sleeves.
Now guys don't go shirtless all the time.
This isn't the 70s when your dad would go shirtless around your family.
Now dudes are wearing almost a dockers type shirt.
It's the linen.
So it's thin.
You roll up the sleeves.
You're showing that you got the gold chain hanging down.
Got the sunglasses on.
You're rocking a backwards hat.
Gold chain.
Okay, Parker McCollum.
Nah, he didn't start.
I think everybody started that.
Like, it's always been a look.
Yeah, but he's a gold chain cowboy.
Is he?
Is that his thing?
Yeah, that's his thing.
Well, I'll take it.
All right, if he comes into the studio, I'll take the chain off until then we can both wear it.
Well, you do, you have a silver chain, though.
I know.
Gold chain, silver chain, a little bit different.
Silver just is pricey.
Yeah, but they're different vibes, I feel like a little bit.
Silver is, what, tell me vibe-wise.
I don't know.
They just, they give off different vibes.
Gold is more Cuba.
You look like you're about to go,
you're about to fly internationally.
Yeah, I do feel like gold is maybe more beachy,
maybe more lakey, silver's like a night out on the town.
Oh, dang it.
Well, I can't wear this one to the lake video then.
You could, but I'm just saying like those are the instances
you see the different colors.
Gotcha.
I mean, if I'm honest, I don't really put attention
in what color jewelry I'm wearing.
I just wear it.
Okay.
So I don't think it actually matters.
But you know what I mean?
Like I see gold chains more often than like a Miami.
All right, well, I won't be in Miami, but I will be rocking the silver chain.
Please don't call me out on the YouTube video.
Vacation Part 2.
Here you go.
Here's a little clip.
I had to roast you.
Go.
See, it says a wave or a lake, so that's why we're going on a lake.
Yeah.
And hopefully it thunders because it says chasing thunder.
Yes, keep playing it.
Your part's coming up, isn't it?
Oh, good.
The part where you say McGrittle and the Broadway boy want to whistle every time, make me laugh.
Come on.
So good.
The McGrittle.
Go get you one tomorrow for breakfast.
Yeah, in honor of vacation in part two filming.
McDonald's is like, holy crap.
We've got all kinds of orders coming in for the McGrittle.
Oh, man.
Do you think you'll keep being a songwriter after this?
Or is this like just the thing?
I hope we end it.
Honestly, it's so hard to write and sing and all that.
And lip sing can do the videos.
For the love of God, if my career can just end it to two songs,
it will be greatly appreciated.
But I'm sure Dodd will call me one day randomly and want to do vacation
Part 3. But you don't anticipate doing any other songs outside of vacation.
Hell no. This is just the one-off. Not my forte. I'm a lot better, a lot of other things besides
singing and playing instruments. And writing songs. Did you write your part of the song? A little bit of
it. Dodd did the lion's share, but I did have a couple words. I think I'm the one that made it
gritt-grit-grittal. That feels accurate.
Oh, man. It's going to be so good. I'm excited for you.
guys and I think it's going to be awesome, especially that you guys even have a sponsor.
Yeah, thank you. That's a Seltzer sponsor, which you love Seltors. Yeah, Vali. Hit one up, guys.
I got tequila and I'm careful. The vacation part one music video is up on YouTube already. That's been
out for a long time so you can watch that until when do you think the music video will drop.
It better be a couple weeks because summer's almost over. It's true. You need it. You need it to hit
before this heat wave ends, basically. Then we got to make those reels. You told me to do vertical.
I did. I did. I encourage Ray to put some.
of the music videos on his reels.
Vertical is what I tell the camera guy.
Yes, vertical. I'll tell him the web girl in Nashville
says to do it this way. So I don't know how
you guys do it here on the Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia line.
But this girl told me to do vertical.
Not entirely what I said. I said, you just
need to tell him you're going to
make videos that are
vertical. So the aspect
ratio of the video needs to fit
that. That, that's what I'm going to say.
Not just vertical. He's going to be like,
who is this girl? What is she talking about?
Like, you can shoot that on your phone.
Tell my lad.
Oh, my lant.
Just tell him you're going to put it on reels.
Okay.
An Instagram story.
And he'll be like, okay, cool.
I can do that.
Got it.
This is what happens when I teach any of you guys.
Between you, Eddie and Lunchbox,
teaching you guys things about social media,
I swear, like, you guys pick up like half of what I tell you.
All right.
And guess what?
We're pretty advanced with social media.
Your next boyfriend isn't going to know crap about social media.
and you're going to get so irritated with him.
No, I won't.
I just, hey, if you're going to use my name, at least tell him what I actually said.
Okay.
All right.
Is that a deal?
Verbatim.
Oh, man.
Vertical aspect ratio for real.
Okay.
That's still not 100% of it.
Got some of the word.
We're getting there.
That's all.
That's all we got today, right?
You got anything left to say from this weekend or anything you want the people to know?
I basically just rock it, dude.
We're all stoked.
So yeah, I'm freaking, uh, I'm,
kind of already on weekend mode.
So I don't know what you guys got going on in your life right now.
Why you're listening to this?
Are you already on the beach or lake?
But I'm about to be on that lake too.
Now they're probably working out and getting ready to go have a good time.
So get that dock and boat ready.
You know what?
Gas it up.
I'm coming.
Okay.
I don't even know what you're saying at this point.
Where can the people find you and where can they listen to you?
Sisson Raimundo and the song is Vacation Part 2.
Wherever you listen to your music, you can stream it everywhere.
Eric made it.
So whatever you got on your little phone, click on that and do
vacation part two and you can probably
pull it up on Instagram make a video. And you got
