Starting point is 00:02:01 The best bits of the week with Morgan. Part one. Behind the scenes with a member of the show. What's up, everybody? I'm joined this weekend by Scoopo Scuba Ste. This is part one. Just the chat, as Morgan says. Just the chat.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Or as I call him Scoobs. The Scoobs. But like I don't spell it like how you would spell like Scoob. I spelled like Scooby-Doo. Like scoops. With two O's. Yeah. I don't know if you've noticed.
Starting point is 00:02:27 Sometimes I'll text you all like Scoops. I don't know why. I don't know why, but that's where it is. Okay, before we get started chatting, just real quick, if you do want to catch up on the best bits, like the actual segments from the show this week, what she got over there, we got an Ann Wilson interview, a Kane Brown interview.
Starting point is 00:02:43 We got myself in Lungebox who saw signs. We got Eddie who did something not great. And Bobby's update on his CPAP machine, Ramundo hanging out with Sam Hunt, and Lunchbox's son getting bullied. So a lot over there for y'all to catch up on if you missed it. But now it's time for the chat, as I like to call it.
Starting point is 00:03:03 All right, Scoob. Like, I know that you and I have some great stories because just in our conversations in life, we always have fun stories to share with each other. I want to talk about our near-death experiences we've had in life. I imagine you've had one. Yeah, I was trying to drum up a story. Drum up one? Is this real or is it fake?
Starting point is 00:03:21 What's that? Does that mean it's real or it's fake? Okay. Ready to tell a story of a near-death experience. Well, you said drum up. Like, let me make one up real quick. I had to reach it in the anals of my mind and find. Okay, we can't say that either.
Starting point is 00:03:33 You can, the anils of your mind. This just sounds wrong. I don't know what you're thinking about, but I'm thinking about like. Sir, you said anal. But yeah, you're saying it in a different way. I'm talking about when you go through like an archive, the anals of the, that's the thing. So I don't know what you're talking about. I have never in my life heard that.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Okay, well, the only way I've ever heard that word is one way. Well, you can look it up on the internet. Okay. Don't look at images. Just look at... Yeah, I don't think I'm on Google this. I think I'm good. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:03 You tell yours and then I'll... I say drama because there's probably thousands of stories between the age of like 13 to 23 where I could have died. Okay. That's a lot. Yes. One just came in my head right now. I'm a trip to Key West, but I'll hold mine. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:19 And then you tell yours. Okay. So I was on a boat with my family and we were on a lake at Table Rock Lake. And there was this crazy... It might have been Table Rock or my... have been Grand Lake in Oklahoma. Now I can't remember because it was a wild moment. But there was a huge thunderstorm that came in. It was not planned. Like we checked the weather. It wasn't supposed to came, but it did. And there was this wild thunderstorm while we're out on the water. And if you've
Starting point is 00:04:41 never been out on the water when a thunderstorm comes on a boat, I can tell you, you don't want to be. There's a reason that people don't go out on water when there are thunderstorms coming. It's choppy and so choppy. Like, you know, you see those videos of like the North Sea or you're like, oh, what's happening out there? Like that's some crazy stuff. Those cruise. ships that like things are flying all over the place because they're in the middle of the ocean. Yeah. Like thunderstorms on a lake are like our north sea. Like they're the closest you're ever going to probably come to that.
Starting point is 00:05:07 Yes. And not good. So we're in huge choppy water. I mean the boat. We are going up and down and all around and we're trying to get to a safe place. Well, in the midst of this thunderstorm, my hat flies off, my favorite hat that I and I still like, I love this hat. You can't get anymore.
Starting point is 00:05:24 It was like limited edition, only one. Like I love this hat. Uh-huh. Okay. It's so sad. Okay. You wanted to die for it, basically. Unfortunately, I was in that moment.
Starting point is 00:05:32 I should not have been. Yeah, yeah. How were you getting? I think I was in, like, I think I was in, like, maybe a freshman in high school. Gotcha. So you didn't have consequences quite yet in your mind. No, I was still a pretty wild child. Will and do whatever.
Starting point is 00:05:44 Yeah, I got you. I feel you. Yeah. So this hat flies off and without even thinking. Okay. I jump in the water. Oh, my God. I don't like, there is not a moment of me being like, this is a bad idea.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Yeah. I just was like, my hat, jump in the water. Yeah. And my, oh, oh, I can hear my parents, like still to this day, like, you're yelling, like, so angry with me. Yeah, they're scared because now one of them thinks they have to jump in to save you. Yeah. And I'm like, I have that. I give my hat.
Starting point is 00:06:08 And I'm like, I'm in there. I'm like, it's fine. I got it. And like, but then I wasn't thinking the process of me, like, getting back into the boat and that they have to, like, stop moving what we were doing trying to get away from the thunderstorm. But they did get me. We got back in the boat. But I got reamed. I got reamed that day for my parents for, like, what were you?
Starting point is 00:06:26 what was possibly going through your mind that you thought a hat was more important than your life. Your life, yeah. A hat they could probably find on eBay for you if they needed to. Probably. Like, it's not that limited edition. It wasn't, like, signed by any. It's just like my favorite hat. It's the Ville hat that I still wear, like, to this day.
Starting point is 00:06:40 I know what you mean? I wear a hats a lot. I have a favorite hat, too, that I lost on a roller coaster. And you can't get that back. That's long gone. So I don't you mean, if I could jump off the roller coaster, I would have jumped off and got my hat. See?
Starting point is 00:06:50 It was like that. Yes. Yeah. But I really did. Like it was touch and go, like, because the boat kept kind of coming up over me, like when they were trying to get back to me and get back in the boat. Like, genuinely, it was one of those things that I look back on. I was like, I probably should not have made that out. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:07:05 Like, I should not have made it out of that situation. Water in your lungs, you would have been at the bottom of the lake. And it's lakes, which are scary because you can't see the bottom of them. No. It's terrifying. Weather, which you have no control over. Yeah. Or lightning or anything.
Starting point is 00:07:18 Oh, yeah. And it was like, it was a thunderstorm. Like, there was lightning and there was everything happening. So I look back on that and I think about it often. Parents do too. They do. I try to forget it. I think they try and forget it.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Were you grounded or in trouble? Are they taking anything away from you? Was there any punishment? I don't think my parents talk to me like the rest of that day. I'm pretty sure I got the silent treatment. Like after I got yelled at as soon as I got back on the boat, it was like we are not talking to you. Like no.
Starting point is 00:07:43 This is not okay. Not okay. I did learn my lesson. I mean, I've had more near death experiences since. But that was like the closest where like I was very irrational thinking. Okay. Really bad. So that's fine.
Starting point is 00:07:54 Okay. Okay. What do you got? So one that came to mind, I'll tell this one, is we were driving down to Miami from Orlando, Florida. We were heading to, I think it was Key West. Yes, this also ties into Kenny Chesney and seeing him perform live at a randomly at a bar. But we're heading down to Key West and almost didn't make it because we're going down
Starting point is 00:08:11 through, I think we're in the Miami area. And have you ever heard of Penny Showers? No. Like, is that pennies that come down from the sky? No. These are pennies that you have in your, car or change and you grab a fistful of it, you throw it out the window at like a car or people or bikes or stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:08:30 That feels like a retaliation. That feels like something that Amy would bring up as like a gang initiation thing that happens. Yeah. So this is also in a period of time where I was not understanding of consequences and having perspective on life and everything around me. And I was an ignorant, stupid, probably 20 year old maybe. It was also with my ex-wife at the time who was my girlfriend and just all. of bad people and bad influences. Lots of bad energy and juju going around in that moment. Yes. I went through
Starting point is 00:08:56 a lot of bad things during that time in my life. I remember we were driving down to Key West and it was me and her and then my friend Justin in the back and his girlfriend at the time, whoever he was dating the flavor of the week. And we're all going down to Key West. We're so excited. Mind you in the car, I didn't realize this, but Justin brought drugs like illegal drugs like cocaine and stuff. Hard drugs. Hard drugs. Not the soft ones. Not the soft ones like smoking a little bit here in there, which even then that's still illegal in 2005, Florida. But we're driving down and I forget even what happened, but it's this moment where a motorcycle cut us off and we got real angry about it.
Starting point is 00:09:33 And I don't know why we cared about it so much, but we were just so pissed off and we're going to do whatever it took to get back at them for cutting us off. Who cares? In the grand scheme of life, happens all the time of me now. I'm just kind of like, whatever. And I just keep driving. But back then, it just fired me up. And I was like, oh, hell no.
Starting point is 00:09:50 I was like, Justin. Penny showers. And he's like, yeah, let's do it. And so then we grab, we each grab a handful of pennies. And we throw it out the window and it hits the biker. And we're going like 80 miles an hour. And he's on a motorcycle. He's on a motorcycle.
Starting point is 00:10:02 So we hit this guy or girl going 80 miles an hour. We just, you throw the pennies out. And it's like gravity. It goes out. And then gravity takes it and it goes and it goes backwards. And it hits the person on the motorcycle. No. And then out of nowhere, all of a sudden, like a bunch of motorcycles start showing up.
Starting point is 00:10:18 So it turns out that was like the first person on the front. of this motorcycle brigade or whatever. Now we got like 20 or 30 motorcycles surrounding this crappy little Jeep grand turkey. Honestly, you should have. Yeah, no, totally. Yeah. I would have the same thing. If I were in the motorcycle thing, I'd be like, radio my friends.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Like, yo, this got three pennies at me. Well, you guys are really lucky that that person didn't crash. Yes. Like, we were, of course, in the moment worried about us getting her ass kicked. Yeah. And you're like upset of getting cut off. There's a rational anger happening there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:46 But. But. Really bad. Like, like motorcycles can't even be on, like, like grass shards like that's dangerous for them let alone I can't imagine like pennies pennies and dimes and nickels and quarters come right at your face so he threw it out the window wasn't me he threw him out the window we're changing the story a little bit now got it okay he threw on the window it was definitely my ex-wife's idea for sure she was like the one who was all about it yeah she was
Starting point is 00:11:11 the one instigating it and even handed him the change and was like dude I got always I got rolls of quarters get them out you know so he threw it she was what said to do it wasn't me had nothing new with it I was like, guys, we shouldn't do this. I'll allow it. I'll allow the change in the story. It's a terrible idea. Like, we're going to Key West, like the most happiest place on Earth, at least for us at the time. And we're so excited to go there.
Starting point is 00:11:31 And he throws the quarters out through my ex-wife's advice. And it nails them. And then again, then I'll send you here. Like, oh. And I look back in there as like a bunch of motorcycles coming our way. And it's like a mixture of like the crotch rockets. Yeah. Like the fast and furious type of motorcycles.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Yeah, yeah. Mix with a couple of the hogs. It must be one of those things where they all saw it. And they're all like, oh, hell and all. And they all came together. And they surrounded our vehicle. And I'm like, oh, and we're going like 70 miles an hour. And there's bikes all around us.
Starting point is 00:11:58 And we're like, oh, my God. I was like, what do we do? So what did you raise? I think I started crying a little bit. And I got really nervous. And then the initial reaction was to throw more pennies and more coins at them. So then. How are you alive?
Starting point is 00:12:14 So then he rolls down the window. Exactly. You ask like near a death experience. This was definitely it. So he rolls down the window. window and throws out more coins. He's like, oh yeah, you want that? You want some more of this? And so he goes and throws out more coins out the window at more people that are driving on the freeway at 70 to 80 miles per hour. And then I'm like, oh, no. I'm like, oh, I like, I regret everything.
Starting point is 00:12:37 Regret everything. And I think I blocked out of that moment because I was just, you ever had those moments where you are so nervous? You can't breathe. You can't catch your breath. The pit of your stomach is like churning and you're just like and you're like how do we get out of this there's no way out of this like we're going to jail or we're dying or they're going to shoot us they're going to beat the crap out yeah and it was one of those things and I think I blacked out and I'm trying to remember because this was so long ago this was like 20 years ago I'm trying to remember how this story ended because I'll remember is the trauma of you trauma blocked it I trauma blocked it because I don't I try to think at the end of it I don't remember the end of it but I know the end
Starting point is 00:13:11 of the story is we made it to Key West. Well obviously you're alive and yeah you have Key West stories so like You did make it. I did make it, but I'm trying to remember how it ended because I remember being like, what do we do? And I remember being a long stretch of the 95, which is a massive freeway that rolls through Florida, goes all up, down the East Coast, actually, up to New York. And I just remember being like, we have to get, we have to avoid them. How do we get away from them?
Starting point is 00:13:33 And we're driving this, like, piece of crap Jeep Grand Cherokee. And they're all in these, like, really fast motorcycles that can zip around and everything. So I tell my ex the time, like, go over there. Now go over here. And I try to guide her through traffic. to get around and get away from them, but they're fast. And then we lose a few of them,
Starting point is 00:13:51 maybe because of traffic and some just may be getting over and be like whatever. Yeah, and they probably were like, these people aren't worth going to jail for murder. Exactly, yes, yeah. We may really want to, but it ain't worth it. It ain't worth it. Maybe they were smarter than us.
Starting point is 00:14:02 And I just always think about like guardian angels and people who are out there looking for you. And I think it was one of those scenarios where someone was like, not today. This ain't, this ain't happening to him. Plus, it isn't even his fault. It's his ex's fault and his friend's fault but thrown the coins out the window.
Starting point is 00:14:13 He had nothing to do with this. He's just a bystander. innocent in the car. And oh, by the way, there's cocaine in the car. I didn't even know. I legitimately didn't even know it was in the vehicle. But you have also learned that as a bystander, you are also contributing because you're, but yeah, you're part of it. You didn't stop it from happening. Yes, I didn't stop it. I tried though. Yeah. I really did try. Really tried. And I just remember, I think it just kind of just petered off where it ended up being like 20 car motorcycles. So like 10 motorcycles and the more we maneuver through traffic, it became like five and then down
Starting point is 00:14:41 like the original one or two. And it was just like constant. They would roll up to the window. It was like probably a 30, 40 minute thing happening where they would get up to the window and they would yell at us like, no, blah, blah, blah, beep, beep, we'd yell back at them. I think at the next point, I think Justin then started opening up a suitcase to find things to throw out at them because we had run out of coins at that point. And I think it ended up being where they gave up and it was kind of like where they waved their hand. They were like, whatever. And then I was terrified the rest of the trip that they had then called C, not CHP, FHP, Florida Highway Patrol. Like, oh, now they're going to, now they've called the cops because they, that's what it was. They started to pull back because they realized we're effing crazy and not giving up.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Literally. And I think they probably, I was like, oh, they called the cops. Now we're definitely going to jail, like for sure. Yeah. And I think that's how it ended. And we didn't go to jail. We made it across the into the Key West area and had a freaking blast. Yeah, you did.
Starting point is 00:15:31 You did have an angel looking over you, man. Yeah. That was one of the, probably 30 stories of near death experiences. Oh, scuba Steve. I'm glad. I'm glad you've learned. I'm glad you were a better man because of it. I'm proud of you.
Starting point is 00:15:43 I think that whole relationship was just a lot of dark and bad, like, influences. She gave you a lot of bad energy. Yeah. Yeah. You can get pulled down to that. You've been in bad relationships where. Oh, yeah. Heck yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:54 You are what you surround yourself with. There's no doubt about that. Totally. And the moment I left her, my career took off. Like, everything just got better. Dead weight. You dropped that dead weight. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Drop dead weight for sure. Yeah. So. Okay. Well, speaking of like just stories and stuff, I do want to talk about intuition too. Okay. Like, and I'll tell you why. this got brought up because I was talking to one of my friends and we were talking about just like our gut intuition.
Starting point is 00:16:17 We were talking about dating particularly, but like how like really your gut is always right. Like it might like you may hide it. It may protect it and be like no, it's not quite, but your gut like literally will always know the right answer and always can feel it, regardless of how your brain and your heart decide something. And I can attest to this because I was dating a guy back in college. and we were long distance. We were at different colleges. And we would, at the time, we were always on Skype together, right? And during a lot of the Skype, and sometimes that I had visited him, I had met this girl. And she, she lingered around a lot.
Starting point is 00:16:59 And from the very first moment I met her, like literally told multiple of my friends, he's going to cheat on me with her. Like, I felt it. Like, I knew it as soon as I met her, as soon as I, and I kept seeing her, pop up. There was even so specific that there was one weekend where he was like, hey, we're going to go to her parents' house and like watch this game and stuff. And I was like, I really don't want you to. I have a really bad feeling about this. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:25 I don't feel like this is good for us. And he was like, no, it's fine. There's going to be a bunch of us, whatever. I literally accurately predicted he would cheat on me that weekend with that girl at that place. Two days after, I got a Skype call confirming that he did, in fact, cheat on me with said girl at said place. God, was he, I guess, leading up to this, was there any other feelings like, okay, this is meant to be and this happened for a reason? And thank God, I'm over him and over it. No, but I mean, I think anybody can attest who's in a long distance relationship, especially when you're young, right? Like, it's different when you're older. But like young, you're new in college. Oh, yeah, in college? Yeah. You have an idea that it's probably not going to work, but you're going to desperately try and make it work. Because why give up? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:11 So I think there was always a part of me that just knew it wasn't probably. going to work. But no, she was the only person who I was like that. And that was the start of all of it, right? That was started all the trust issues and everything started with that. And then it got worse. And then they got married and had three kids and she looks like crap. Surprisingly not.
Starting point is 00:18:29 They didn't get married and stuff. I mean, he is like happily married and stuff now, which I am happy for him. Like we reconciled. Like we're fine. But it was a very weird situation for me to feel and see my intuition be so spot on that I predicted it happening. Like time, place, everything. Yeah, that's even more obscure, like, crazy.
Starting point is 00:18:48 The fact that you, the play, even like the moment, like, this is the moment where he's going to do it. They, like, had, like, sex. Yes. Oh, my gosh. So they went all the way. Yeah. And I predicted all of it.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Wow. It wasn't even, like, hit on her a little bit or talked to her or got her number. They, like, went for the whole thing. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. And let's be honest, when you're cheating and I mean, you're doing the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:19:09 Yeah. You're not doing it just for a kiss. True. I mean, there are some guys that will be like, oh, I just hung out with her and, you know. Yes. That's the unicorn cheat. Yeah. She said she loved me, but it was at a strip club and I kept giving $100 bills and never, you know, yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:23 Yeah. So that was my, like, crazy intuition that I still look back on. I'm like, I can't ever doubt my intuition because, like, it's got radar that I got to trust. So many instances of it too. This is probably just the tip of it. Yeah. This is just one where I, like, predicted with it. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:19:37 Like, normally I can, I get like really big gut feelings that I always trust. Yeah. But like there are moments too where I've like predicted. I'm like, dang, that's crazy. That's wild. Am I a psychic? That's what makes me like trust psychics. And I'm like, there is a part of my energy that has accurately predicted things.
Starting point is 00:19:53 I can't do it for other people. Oh, I can do it for myself. Yeah, yeah. So like there is energy around that. Yeah. So that's why I don't like question. I'm like, yeah, you're probably right. You're probably picking up on something.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Totally. And plus people give you vibes and they exude their energy and their vibrations. And you're like, oh, this is all negative or this is all bad or he's going to achieve for sure. Yeah. You get the recipe of the zes. of a party and drinking and he's in college long distance. Every factor. Yeah, yeah, totally.
Starting point is 00:20:16 Yeah. So that's mine. That's my story. My intuition. It's cool, but cool. It's cool to know that my body's got my back. Yeah. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:20:24 A body's got his own back. Other people, not so much, you know? Whatever. Not cool. I got cheated on. But not that. Do you have anything like that? Like intuition that you can think of where you're like, dang, that was right?
Starting point is 00:20:35 Yeah. I'm trying to think of a specific example. But like you, I've had thousands upon thousands of occurrences. Like even like professionally, personally, like even in my career, I can't give it too specific on one of them because someone got legally in trouble. But in a previous radio job, one of the guys that we worked with was going to let something fly. And I was like, nah, this has like murderer written all over it. And I was like, we should not have this person on the show. I won't put it on the national show.
Starting point is 00:21:00 It'll only live here in this one market and it'll die. But on the bigger show that I control, we are not doing this. And then it turned out this person that they put on and did all this stuff for. And then I think involved in a game show that's on television, did all these things. End up being like someone on the run that was a murderer, like a serial killer or something like that. And I was like, I had a gut feeling about this person not being right. And they would say things that were just a little bit off putting. And I was like, as I was hearing it happen, I was like, I'm not putting this on my show.
Starting point is 00:21:26 This is done. And then someone was asked me like, hey, did you put it on? It was great. And I was like, yeah, I didn't put it on. And then a week later, they're like, hey, it's a good thing you didn't put it on because that guy was a serial killer. And he is now in trouble. And da-da-da-da-da. And I'm like, I knew it.
Starting point is 00:21:38 I had a gut feeling. And there was another time with that same show where they did something, another, another evolving something else that was on television. And I was like, no, we shouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole. And it was another like bad Apple type guest that ended up being like, I think a pedophile or something. Oh my gosh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:55 And we got a lot of legal trouble on one end, but not on my end because we didn't do like my, again, gut. I'm just like having a gut feeling about a situation or a person. I think the most recent gut feeling that I've been getting lately is, my career choice and path and following a dream. And I've been following it lately in my own lane with me doing certain things behind the scenes to do it. And I've never had this exact same feeling and things aligning through that process. And I'm being really cryptic and maybe annoying for anyone listening who doesn't know. But it will come to fruition. You'll find out soon. But I've been
Starting point is 00:22:31 working towards some things. And I've been working towards it my whole career. I feel like it's now starting to come together and my gut feeling was to take a leap of faith on a certain on a few things that I've done recently and they've paid off tremendously and it's and it's slowly paying off and it's slowly coming together and this is again like the gut and knowing and knowing when to strike and when not to do certain things and man have I been hit pretty good lately no so yeah that's great yes right oh it's incredible oh my gosh yeah and then like even more of a sad gut thing like my dog marley died I had a gut feeling like that was not, like it was his, his time had come. That was, correct me if I'm wrong, but he was your soul dog.
Starting point is 00:23:11 Oh my gosh. And when you're interconnected in that way, you feel things. Yeah, I've had him for almost 18 years. You came from me from Orlando to San Francisco to Los Angeles to Nashville. He's seen me go through a bad relationship. He's seen me be on my own. He's seen me move around the country and then find my soulmate and have kids. And he's seen dogs come and go too.
Starting point is 00:23:31 So it's like that my intuition. And that day when it happened, I was like, I think today's the day. And then it was my gut feeling. And then I even like was talking to him out loud. And then he let go. And I could feel him let go. And I was like, oh, shit. Oh, I just curse.
Starting point is 00:23:43 Sorry. It's okay. You get a free one on that one. I appreciate it. And it hit. And I was like, oh, all right. Well, my gut, unfortunately was correct. But I knew it was coming.
Starting point is 00:23:53 It was almost 18. I was hoping he'd be like the Guinness Book World Records, oldest dog and live for 30 or something. But like also so amazing that I lived to be 18 years old. Yeah. That's incredible. And the fact that you got to have 18 amazing years with him is so special. Yeah, it really is.
Starting point is 00:24:08 I look at it that way to kind of think of the positive side of it. And you got to have some insane soul dog love. And there's nothing like that. Oh, yeah. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. So yeah. So yeah, my intuition like you and gut plays in many different factors.
Starting point is 00:24:20 And then even like relationships. My ex-wife, it was a gut feeling. I knew she was cheating on me. She kept saying, no, they're just clients or people that I work with at the hotel. And he had that sickening pit in your stomach. Like one time she's like, oh, I have to work. work late and I was like I don't think she has to work late oh yeah I was taking my dogs for a walk I was taking ziggie and marley for a walk and we're walking up knob hill which is this very iconic area of
Starting point is 00:24:43 San Francisco we lived on you walk up to the top of the hill and there was the hotel she worked at we got to the top of the hill and my gut was telling me I had this gut feeling I was like go walk the dogs and I was like I had worked the next morning like three or four in the morning I was so tired I was like it was like go walk the dogs it was like 1130 go walk the dogs and I was like all right I'm going to walk the dogs and I went and walk the dogs and sure enough I get to top of the morning the hill and there's my ex-wife wife at the time and this dude and and they're like drunk and laughing and stumbling back and I was like hey and I'm like oh hey and I'm like oh hey who the hell is that oh it's just a client am I just had a really good time da da da and he's like I could see it in his
Starting point is 00:25:22 face he's like oh crap I wasn't supposed to be seen with you and who's that and then I was like hey my name is Stephen I'm her husband and I could see it in his face where he's like oh no and it was like one of the another, I guess another, one of those gut things where, and then that was like the unraveling of all of that was like that was the, then I was like, okay, now everything is like starting to come together. I'm like, oh crap, that was probably that. That was probably that. And then it just unraveled into where then my story took me to finding her cheating on me and Ashley Madison and all the things. So yes, again, the gut plays into personal, professional, everything, yeah. Yeah. For people who can really in touch with that and like listen to that the first
Starting point is 00:25:58 time instead of like waiting until your heart and your head catch up to it. Yeah. Props to y'all because like I want to be like, I want to question it all the time and I'm like, you sure you're right. Yeah. You sure. Yeah. And every time it is, but I'm like every time I'm questioning it, even though it's proven to
Starting point is 00:26:12 me 100% of the time. Yeah. It's right. You know what I mean? Oh yeah. And is that what you mean? Then it also impedes in your personal life because then you're worried like, crap, am I always over thinking everything?
Starting point is 00:26:21 Yeah. Now am I ever going to be able to let go? No. The answer is no. No, you shouldn't. Stand strong. Well, very sorry about Marley. I'm really glad that you and I both have some incredible intuition in all of our lives.
Starting point is 00:26:35 Yeah. And I know we can keep talking about this forever, which is why I wanted us to talk about it in first place. I thought of three more. I know. I know. We got great stories, but we do have more to do. So we're going to take a quick break and we'll come back. We'll do that.
Starting point is 00:26:47 You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance. And then there's your body having its own program. I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods of turbulence and transformation. There is one finding that is consistent, and that is that our resilience rests on our relationships. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change.
Starting point is 00:27:26 We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. When you listen to podcasts about AI and tech and the future of humanity, the hosts always act like they know what they're talking about and they are experts at everything. Here at the Nick Dick and Poll show, we're not afraid to make mistakes. What Coogler did that I think was so unique. He's the writer-director. Who do you think he is? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:28:03 You mean the president? You think Canada has a president. You think China has a president. Those law crusade. God, I love that thing. I use it all the time. I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night. It's like the old Polish saying,
Starting point is 00:28:20 not my monkeys, not my circus. Yep. It's a good one. I like that. It is an actual Polish saying. Yeah. It is an actual Polish saying. Better version of Play Stupid Games,
Starting point is 00:28:29 win stupid prizes. Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift who said that for the first time. I actually, I thought it was. I got that wrong.
Starting point is 00:28:36 Listen to the Nick, Dick, and Poll show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If you're watching the latest season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, you already know,
Starting point is 00:28:48 there's a lot to break down. Gorsha accusing Kelly of sleeping with a merry man. They holding Kay Michelle back from fighting Drew. Pinky has financial issues. I like the boogey style of Housewives show, I think it looks like it's going to be interesting.
Starting point is 00:29:02 On the podcast, Reality with the King, I, Carlos King, recap the biggest moments from your favorite reality shows, including the Real Housewives franchise, the drama, the alliances, and the team everybody's talking about. As an executive producer in reality television, I'm not just watching it. I understand the game. As somebody who creates shows, I'll even say this. At the end of the day, when people are at home, they want entertainment. To hear this and more Listen to Reality with the King On the IHard Radio app
Starting point is 00:29:34 Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcast All right scuba I have put together like You know because we can't play songs and stuff So I had like pitch an idea for this like voice Famous Voice game Okay Where we play clips of like famous people
Starting point is 00:29:50 Who are doing animated voice work Yeah But I obviously don't have the clips or anything Loaded up on here So I'm just gonna go through them And like quiz you based on the character in the movie and see if you know who the celebrity is, that voice is it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:04 Like, start off with a softball. Okay. Dory and Finding Nemo. Okay. Who is it? Doreen Finingmo, it would be Ellen DeGeneres. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:30:12 What about Duke Caboom in Toy Story 4? Duke Caboom. Yeah. That's the guy. Yeah, that's who does the voice. Yeah. So you're trying to name the famous voice and it's a famous voice. And it's a famous voice.
Starting point is 00:30:25 Like these are big people. Yes. It's a Duke Caboam, Duke, Doom. O'd be Will Arnette. No. I'll give you three guesses. Just because, like, if I could play you the clip, that would be obviously very helpful to you. Yes.
Starting point is 00:30:34 Because I remember, like, doqabooam, doqaboo. But these are all, like, animated, like, Disney. So a lot of things you'll probably have known. Okay. Duke, boom. Yeah. I thought for sure that was Will Arnett. I mean, my next guest would be Tom Hanks doing another voice on the film.
Starting point is 00:30:47 Yeah. Or Tim Allen doing it. Okay. Nope. It's not. But here, I'm going to try and play you like a little clip. Okay. I'll put it up to the mic.
Starting point is 00:30:53 Okay. Cabo. Canada's greatest stunt man. Huh. Oh, yeah. Huh. Yes. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:31:01 One more. Oh, yeah. That's probably not giving you much. No, it's not, but it sounds familiar, but I don't know who that is. Can we tell you? Yeah, tell me. Yeah. Keanu Reeves.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Oh, man, that's Keanu Reeves. Oh, my gosh. Now that when you say it, now I can see him in the booth going, oh, yeah. Okay. I'm going to attempt to play some of these clips. I have to like, I'm going through the YouTube videos to find it. All right. Go.
Starting point is 00:31:23 We've got Chief Bogo in Zootopia. Parking duty. Dismished. abandoned in your post in sights in a scurry Reckless and DeRis Abba Yep Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah okay
Starting point is 00:31:35 We got there I love Zootopia Do you know they're building So good Do you know they're building A whole Zootopia landing It's at Tokyo Disney Really
Starting point is 00:31:41 And then they're talking about doing it In Orlando Because Disney World's having a massive Battle right now Against Universal Because Universal's opening That new theme park That's gonna blow them out
Starting point is 00:31:52 of the effin water Well I will say like Universal Verses Disney is already better for adults. Like I love Disney for the iconic most and I love so many Disney movies and shows and stuff. But as far as the theme parks,
Starting point is 00:32:06 Universal was far and above like four adults. Like 100% if that's all you have time for, do Universal. 100%. Yeah. So I don't know that they have to take too much step further to, you know what I mean? Like beat that now. Yeah, but this is a good one too because this next park is going to be a mixture
Starting point is 00:32:20 of adult and kid both win. But it's just the concept of it. If you ever have time, watch their promo video for the concept, it's so It's so freaking cool. I'm going to bleep that one. Don't need to be getting in trouble. Explicitly marked Bobby Bone Show, Best Boots.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Okay. Okay, here we go. I got to turn off my email. Okay, Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy. I am Groot. Yeah, which he... That one's Vin Diesel. Okay, I don't have to play.
Starting point is 00:32:49 I was insane because he doesn't say anything. He just says, I am Groot. Yeah. Okay, so you got that one. I didn't have to do that. Okay. Anna in Frozen. Oh, I know.
Starting point is 00:32:57 This is Kristen Bell. Okay. See, I'll play the clips if you're not sure. Yes. Okay. Yeah. Okay. The White Rabbit in Secret Life of Pets, too. Ooh, that one I don't know. Oh, I'm just going to guess because I think I know it is. Is it Kevin Hart? Yeah. Yes. I want to see if I can find a clip, though, because he is really funny in that. He is funny. Like, that's funny. Like, that. Oh, I'm just like also hoping he's not cursing. I don't think he is because it's a kid's movie. Yeah. What I do? Oh, I just rescue the tiger. I'm not even trying to brag about that. What I do? I love him. Like, love him. Great character. actor and voice actor too. Yeah, he's just good at everything. Okay, Audrey and Lorax. Audrey and Lorax. Yeah. I don't know. I play that one for me. Okay, hold on. I got to find it in which clip because I have like three different YouTube videos where I went down like a rabblehole. There's all these videos of all like the famous people behind them and they're so good. Yeah, it's really cool. I like watching the videos of them in the booth recording it. And then they'll put like the animation
Starting point is 00:33:52 next to it and them and it's almost like it blows your mind. You're like, oh my gosh, that's so cool to see it that way, for me at least. That's what this is. That's what these YouTube videos. So that's how I like started this whole game. Yeah. Was that? Okay, hold on. I got a find her.
Starting point is 00:34:05 I've seen Lorax. Oh, here we go. A couple times. Okay, you ready? I'm ready. Yeah. How cool is your grandma? Real tree.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Oh, that one's dumb me. Very famous voice. Taylor Swift? Yep. It is. Yep. It's Taylor Swift. I probably give you a little bit of a clue with the very famous.
Starting point is 00:34:30 But yeah, it doesn't 100% sound like her, does it? No, it doesn't. But that last one that you play where she. And flex a little more, then I might always Taylor Swift. I think she was pretty young in that one, too, because I was a, that's, the Lorox is a few years old, I believe. Now I'm trying to use, okay. I'm going to try and find these other clips. But do you know who Joe, this is a newer movie, Joe Gardner in Seoul?
Starting point is 00:34:52 Have you seen the soul movie? I've seen soul. That's another one of the movies that, like, takes your mind and bends it to another degree. It's so good. It's such a great movie. My first guess without even thinking about it was either going to be Samuel L. Jackson or. play if I may maybe I gotta play it isn't him I don't think
Starting point is 00:35:08 let me just find it I'm just gonna start YouTube searching him so he's the main character right he's the main character I got the jazz musician and let me see if I can just get a conversation just ask her nicely if she can fix my suit so mom
Starting point is 00:35:22 is there any way okay there was a clip of him you heard it for a second fix my suit I know embarrassing right that's not that's on the person this is where they're like switched this one is different
Starting point is 00:35:32 does this gig have a pension I literally had to Google a conversation. My mom has never understood what I'm trying to do with my life. Fine. We'll get a soon. Oh. Okay. My mom.
Starting point is 00:35:44 Is it a little bit like a taste of Kanye for a quick second there. But I just not Kanye because he was not mentally sane to be around for the recording of that. Also, isn't it weird that you know, they re-released at the theaters? It became a theater movie. It's like only in theaters. Yeah. Because it came out during COVID. That's wild.
Starting point is 00:36:02 Man, who is it? That's such a very famous. I know your voice. Yep. You'll be mad that you're not going to get it. I'll be very pissed that I'm not going to get it. He made like the first initial? Jay.
Starting point is 00:36:10 Jay. Oh, Jay. You're probably not thinking in this realm. No, I'm not. Oh, man. I'm out.
Starting point is 00:36:20 I don't know. Jamie Fox. Oh, yes. Jamie Fox. Yes. Definitely now that you say it too. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:27 Yeah, you knew it. You may not need the clip for this one, but I'll play it first and then I'll tell you. Okay. Hold on. I need them to talk. Keep in mind, I'm searching these as we're doing it. Hey,
Starting point is 00:36:41 you didn't like prepare this? Well, I just, you didn't pull the clips and stuff. I sent all the links of the clips, but they're all together. So like I have to go through the video to get to each one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:50 I know. I'm funny with that. Which one? That voice? So it's Rocket and Guardians of the Galaxy. Oh, oh, it's Rocket.
Starting point is 00:37:04 So that's, Bradley Cooper. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I was going to say, I don't know if you needed the clip for him. Yes,
Starting point is 00:37:08 Rocket's him. Then I got a little confused guys. because I heard Chris Pratt for a second there. I know. And I was like, okay, gotcha. Well, it was one of the scenes with all of them because, like I said, now I'm just like searching for their characters. Okay, here's, uh, grew.
Starting point is 00:37:19 Yes. In minions. Oh, that's Steve Crowell. Yep. Yep. Yep. Steve Crowell. And last one.
Starting point is 00:37:26 Okay. Poppy and trolls. Poppy and trolls. That is Anna Kendrick. Yep. I really appreciate you making me not search for this. Yeah, yeah. I'm really good at these things.
Starting point is 00:37:37 So that was a game I had for Parenthood. to like guess the voices because they like as much as they're iconic yeah when they get into an animated character you may not be able to put them together they change a little bit totally yeah yeah I grew I feel like you got like like a minus yeah yeah definitely a minus one or two yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I miss too yeah I missed too because there was 10 you have 80% ah it's a B isn't that crap when you look at that scale you're like I missed two and it's already down to B almost a C for missing two I know it's so dumb unbelievable But it was 10 of them.
Starting point is 00:38:10 But good job. You did do really good. Like for the chaos that that was, you did great. Thank you so much. If I would have had it lined up perfectly, I would probably got them all right. Yeah. We'll roll with that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:38:20 We're going to take one more quick break and we'll be right back. You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance. And then there's your body having its own program. I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight, change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. Starting point is 00:40:05 Better version of Play Stupid Games, win stupid prizes. Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift who said that for the first time. I actually, I thought it was.
Starting point is 00:40:12 I got that wrong. Listen to the Nick, Dick, and Poll show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If you're watching the latest season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta,
Starting point is 00:40:24 you already know, there's a lot to break down. Gorsha accusing Kelly of sleeping with a merry man. They holding Kay Michelle back from fighting Drew. Pinky has financial issues. I like the boozy style
Starting point is 00:40:36 of Housewives show, and I think it looks like it's going to be interesting. On the podcast, Reality with the King, I, Carlos King, recap the biggest moments from your favorite reality shows, including the Real Housewives franchise, the drama, the alliances, and the team everybody's talking about. As an executive producer in reality television, I'm not just watching it. I understand the game.
Starting point is 00:40:59 As somebody who creates shows, I'll even say this. At the end of the day, when people are at home, they want entertainment. To hear this and more, listen to Reality with the King on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. All right, scuba. Hot Topics. So I have stumbled on to the-store or a topic? No, no, no, like, topics.
Starting point is 00:41:24 So I'm a hot topic kind of guy. I know there's a store called that too. I don't know. We're doing brick and mortar or we're doing like things. No, things. So all over my TikTok feed is these guys who are like revealing men's darkest, dirtiest secrets, which is really interesting. which is really entertaining as a woman. Because all it does is validate a lot of things that we've already thought about y'all.
Starting point is 00:41:43 But, you know, it's coming out. Guys are like, no, it's true, like 100%. Okay. And it's about, like, dating and women. So I want to ask you, like, from your perspective, if these things are true for you. Okay. Okay. So, like, people that I know.
Starting point is 00:41:58 Oh, yeah. Yeah. Or guys that you know, whatever. Like, generically, for the average man is this true. Okay. So is, and they're all kind of like concepts. around like I said dating to women. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:10 So we're starting off with the first one. If he wanted to, he would. The concept of saying like if a man genuinely cares for you, wants you loves you, he is going to pursue you. He's going to come after. He's going to do all the things to have you. Yeah. Because he wants you.
Starting point is 00:42:25 Yeah. But if he doesn't, he's not going to because he doesn't want to. Yes. So like if he wanted to, he would. Yes. 100%. Are they saying that's not true or it is true? No, I'm just asking because I'm so curious because like these are guys on
Starting point is 00:42:37 TikTok. So I want to know like across the board are we, is this most men. I think yeah, most men that is that. And I think the ones that don't aren't into it and the woman pursues even harder and then they do get together and ends up in a breakup or a cheating. You're like, well, duh, he's told he didn't show any interest in the beginning. It wasn't his move. It's just he just wasn't interested. And you forced it upon him and then
Starting point is 00:42:55 gave him something. And he was like, well, that was kind of felt good. So I guess I did that a couple more times. And the next, you know, six months later, he's in a relationship. He's like, crap, I didn't want to be in this relationship. So yes, I think men are more driven based on what they want. and if they don't want it, they won't pursue it. Not saying women aren't that way, but I feel like in a relationship,
Starting point is 00:43:11 sometimes I've noticed that women, they have their eyes set on a particular guy because it checks the boxes, and they will go all out to get that guy. And if the guy's not interested, he will be very, very, very blunt that he's not interested. So could it be safe to assume that if a guy is not pursuing in the early stages,
Starting point is 00:43:27 he is likely, along the lines of the movie, he's just not that into you. Exactly, yes. The whole growing to love sometimes, works, but I think for the way that men are wired, if we don't want it, we don't want it. Like, if I'm not into it, I'm not into it. It could be anything. You want to go to lunch here?
Starting point is 00:43:45 I'm like, no, I'm not really into that. A lot of midlife for you coming, if that's the guy that you choose to pursue. Exactly. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I've seen it many times growing up outside of Orlando where you got these people that were, that was convenient in high school. And then they all of a sudden kept going.
Starting point is 00:44:01 And then the guy probably showed interests elsewhere. And the girl was like, no, I've been in this for eight years. feel bad for the girl and then they get married because there's pressure and then they have kids and then 20 years later there's the woman's cheating on the guy because she didn't get the love that she wanted and he's fat and lazy and on drugs or doesn't care and then you get kids involved this took a long road but yeah yeah totally true quarterback and the head cheerleader don't always work out folks and if you think it does you're wrong it doesn't okay now we're going to dive into which thank you i really like i said when i hear you guys talk about these things it validates
Starting point is 00:44:32 a lot of things that i've already learned and experienced and know but also f you you to the guy that doesn't eventually be like, girl, I know you presume me, but like, this is not for me. Yeah, they just let it happen. They're like, yeah, that feels good. That feels cool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that sounds great.
Starting point is 00:44:47 Cool. You're going to buy me something. And then we have sex and then you, whatever, sure. Yeah, so I think I also screw you to the guy who doesn't man, who also isn't man enough to say, look, dude, I ain't into you. Like, I'm so sorry, but this is not going to work. Well, and I think so much of this is coming from, like, when guys are talking about this and girls are watching it, it's coming from the fact that there's so much
Starting point is 00:45:04 lack of communication in the dating world, right? Like, men don't communicate. Again, and to their credit, have been taught not to communicate. They've been taught not to talk about their feelings. So they don't. And then in turn, you have a lot of women out there who are very confused and don't understand in trying to have closure or at least trying to understand what went wrong. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:22 Because they want to learn. They want to grow. So the lack of communication is where this is all stemming from, right? And if men would just communicate and say, I'm into you, I'm not into you. I don't think there would be all these theories and all these things. I'm just putting that out there. Like there's all of these because we have to decipher what something means. Yes, yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:40 That's where this is coming from. Okay, the cab light theory. So this all like started in actually in sex in the city, but it's really respond on TikTok. And the whole theory from sex in the city is where Miranda, she says, like, men are like cabs. When they're available, their light goes on. They awake one day and decide they're ready to settle down, have babies, and they'll turn their light on.
Starting point is 00:46:01 And then the next women they choose, it's going to be that one. even if it's not the right one for them, it just so happens that it's the right timing of their cablight. So the whole theory is that like, for women, our cablights are always on. For men, they could meet the right person, but their cablight is not on. But five years down the road,
Starting point is 00:46:20 their light comes on, the next woman they meet, they're going to marry because that's who's there when their cablight turned on. Yeah. Do you feel like that theory is true? I've seen it true with some of my friends who are like on and off.
Starting point is 00:46:33 A girl will come by and I'm like, dude, that girl is amazing. Like, yeah, she's whatever. I'm like, are you kidding me? Not only is she on the exterior, she's beautiful, but she's a really good person and she does all these kind things and she's thinking of you and doing these things for you and you don't even care. Like I saw it many different times with one of my best friends and this girl he was dating for a little bit and then like didn't date her.
Starting point is 00:46:55 And I was like, what? I would love to date her. But she had no interest in me whatsoever. She wanted to be with this guy. And so yes, that theory is definitely true. not for all guys, but for some of the guys that I have been around and seen, yes. For me, and not necessarily. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:08 For me, there is no cablite. It's just if I'm into you or not, you know? Yeah. Yeah. Like your cablight turned on because you were interested in somebody. Exactly. Not because it's happening in time that it's on. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:19 Yeah. It's not a cablight season for me. It's, oh, no, season, it's on. Because I do think for some men, the cablite is always on. Yeah. But I think more often than not, it's not. Yes. I think you're more of a unicorn in that aspect.
Starting point is 00:47:31 Yes. I think mostly, too, because I was raised by, all women. Like sisters, one brother, but he's younger than me. Cousins, aunts, like all women, grandmother, mother, all women. So I was raised and I had a different perspective on life because I was around a lot of women and saw the crap that they had to go through because of guys.
Starting point is 00:47:48 You are emotionally available. Yes. Yeah. And I'm a cancer, so I'm just emotional in general. Okay. Love it. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:56 The guy knows within the first time of meeting you, what category he's placing you in. For example, you're either going in the hookup category or date girlfriend, wife category. Yeah, I think it depends on how long your conversation was. Or you're saying this is like an initial. Yeah, like say like your first, you go on a first date with somebody. And the guy knows right away which of the two categories he's going to put you in. Yeah, I could say that. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:48:21 And I think sometimes guys always want to put every girl in the category of we're hooking up. So that category, I think is always standing strong. That's fair. It's like, hey, this is a hookup. And then also, she's pretty cool too, so we could also date. But I feel like the number one criteria for most men, if they're going out, especially if they're going out, oh, the boys, woo! They're like, their number one thought is, how can I get some?
Starting point is 00:48:45 In the wild, as you say. Yes, in the wild, how can I get some? And then maybe if something happens along the way, cool. But sometimes there's like, there have been seasons where you're like, man, I just really want to find a good girl. And then you don't want to hook up. And you just genuinely look for a good girl. girl and sometimes you find the bad girls and they're in the season of a man and they're one you know that that's a trade off for us there scuba because we always have the bad boys so you know
Starting point is 00:49:10 if you only had a season of bad girls i think you're doing pretty good okay cool you know for like us it's every season yeah and then i also i think i fall in love easily not easily but like i find a few traits and i'm like oh it checks the box and i could fall in love and then get hurt pretty quickly too um just because they checked a few of the boxes not all the boxes and i put blinders on You've always been in your lover area. Era. Era. Not era.
Starting point is 00:49:34 Era. Era. Era. Era. Yeah. Yeah. I've always been, yes. I think always been a lover.
Starting point is 00:49:40 And again, I think it's because I'm a cancer. I'm just always open for love. All right. Hey, we like it. We like it. Love or not a fighter. Yeah. Busy is a word you don't want to hear because he's not busy.
Starting point is 00:49:52 He's ignoring you. Oh, yeah. For sure. Yeah. Busy is just a way to be like, oh, it's like the longstanding excuse. just say you're busy. But especially when you know, like, you're not busy. You work at Hot Topic.
Starting point is 00:50:05 You have nothing going on for you. You still live at home. You have three friends. You're never busy. It'd be like, um, like lunchbox being like, I'm busy. I'd be like, you're a liar. You're at home doing nothing right now. You're not busy.
Starting point is 00:50:17 Yeah. And you know what? Here's something to punk lunchbox, but yeah. An example for the audience to understand. It's great. Yeah. You know, from a, from a woman standpoint, I, a few different levels of this. I've used this word when I'm not interested.
Starting point is 00:50:32 And I recognize it. Like, I won't even recognize that I'm not interested until I realize I'm not responding. I'm like, sorry, I'm so busy. I wasn't busy. Yeah. And I wasn't intentionally not responding. I just wasn't interested and I wasn't ready to say I wasn't interested yet.
Starting point is 00:50:46 I just, you know what I mean? Like, it was that gray area. But so I think this is true for more than just men. I think it's true for both women and men. Busy is like a word that if you're using the word busy, like genuinely a lot. Granted, if you're sure, straight of a busy person. Like, true, it makes sense.
Starting point is 00:51:02 You have one, got it, respect. But like, it can't be your excuse. You get, like, that one time. And beyond that, like, you're prioritizing things at that point. Yeah, and I think most people think, they go, oh, if I say they're busy, they'll leave you alone.
Starting point is 00:51:14 And also feel bad for me because I'm so busy. Oh my God, I'm so swamp right now. Yes. Oh my God, so sorry, I won't bother you. And then just hoping that they just go away because you're busy. And I, like, from, you know,
Starting point is 00:51:25 we touched on a little bit of the cheating, but I've been in every relationship I've been on in N, cheated on. So I have an anxious attachment style. So I always really wanted texting and stuff to happen. But mature Morgan has grown up a lot and actually really hates texting. Like I thought I really wanted it. But actually when I'm in a secure setting, I actually don't want it. So you prefer conversations on the phone then? Well, I prefer as long as there's like a standing communication of like, hey, I help you have a great day. We don't have to talk. Yeah. As long as
Starting point is 00:51:56 I'm feeling consistently like they are thinking about me or trying to make plans. Like we don't talk for 24 hours. The next day he's like, hey, I want to make plans with you for Saturday. 7 p.m. Let's do dinner. And I'm like, cool. You don't have to talk to me until Friday when you confirm said plans. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:11 As long as I'm feeling secure in that situation where it's consistent that I feel wanted and I feel like you are making an effort, I don't need the call. I don't even need the phone calls. Like if you want to, that's cool. Okay. As long as someone's continually pursuing you and wanting to do things. and hang out and do stuff. Then the texting, like, I've also learned
Starting point is 00:52:30 that, like, a consistent texting is also really unhealthy. Yeah. And not actually, like, the sign of a mature, healthy relationship. It's actually the sign of, like, some really different attachment styles, like, combining together. Well, like, my wife and I, well,
Starting point is 00:52:44 like, a whole day will go by it. And, like, oh, I haven't hit her up yet. And I'm like, hey, you all good? She's like, I'm all good. So I'm busy. Yeah, but, like, she probably appreciated just that you even were like, hey, you guys good?
Starting point is 00:52:55 Yeah, yeah. You don't have to talk about it, but like just checking in. Totally. Yeah, yeah. And I think that's what's healthy. Yeah, because we're just secure in the relationship and it's like, she's doing a thing, I'm doing my thing. And then if I need you for something, I'll hit you up or just send me a picture once
Starting point is 00:53:06 a while from like daycare. Like, I always a picture of one of our daughters doing something. Oh my God, it's so cool. Sometimes I'll just look at it and just keep moving. And then we won't talk until I see her when I get home. Yeah. So yeah. But we're super secure in our relationship and I don't have to always be checking on her and vice versa.
Starting point is 00:53:20 No, and because it doesn't allow for any spot nady to happen either. Exactly. Because if you're texting every day, you already know about their whole day in life. What are you going to talk about it? Yeah, what are you going to talk about when you see each other? Especially if this goes like six months on. Exactly. What else you got left to talk about?
Starting point is 00:53:32 Nothing. Like, I want to see you. I already know everything about you. Yeah, exactly. I read your book. So there is, but there's a fine line because obviously like if they're not even responding, texting, whatever, and there's no plans being made, then this is clearly somebody who's not interested.
Starting point is 00:53:45 Totally. But I think there's a level there that happens. And we've been known to believe personally somebody like me who may also be an anxious attachment and be like, this. I need this. I need communication all the time or they're not into me. When really, it's just I've met
Starting point is 00:53:59 a lot of avoidant attachments who don't even communicate in the first place. Yeah, yeah. Why I'm being anxious because I'm like, what's happening? There's what anxiety comes from. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:06 So I do think there's more phases to, you know, that level. If you hang out during the week versus the weekend, you're on the roster. Week versus weekend, you're on the roster. Weekend, meaning weekend is prime time. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, yeah. And if they keep choosing. Now, not early, early stage.
Starting point is 00:54:26 I don't even like to go out on the weekends unless that's all the time I have opened. Because that is my prime time. Like that's the time I get from me and my friends and not working. Yeah. So I say like for three dates, you don't really need the weekend moment. But let's focus on like after three dates. Okay. If you're still the weekday and no weekends.
Starting point is 00:54:44 Like you're not getting any weekend time. Are you on the roster? Or are you like something else happening? Yeah, I don't know. Because for me, it's most of my life. I never had time during the week. So all my stuff was on the weekend, even dates and stuff, just because during the week, I'd have work.
Starting point is 00:54:59 And then when work was over, I was like, I want a meet time. I would crash and I had no time for anyone during the week. So I was always a weekend hangout type person. Weekday would only be if it was like a concert happened. Like Bruno Mars is performing at the Oracle and I have tickets on a Tuesday. Let's go to that. But I was always a weekend person just because I'd never had time during the week. So from my personal experience, I have no experience of that.
Starting point is 00:55:22 Okay. Because I never did. I wasn't a both. I like the respective. Like I don't have experience in it. Love it. Yeah. Look at you a very emotionally mature man.
Starting point is 00:55:32 So proud. Yeah, I really don't have. I can't give you an answer to that. I don't know. And I can't even think about like friends and stuff because even most of my friends, I feel like we were always weekend people with everything. Okay.
Starting point is 00:55:42 So yeah, we were weekend warriors. Well, there's this theory out there that if you're not getting any weekend prime time spots after like, say, you know, third date. Yeah. You're the roster. And I could see that possibly because. I guess proving to my point, the weekend was always my time to go out and have fun and do things. We were so excited for Friday and Saturday and then Sunday.
Starting point is 00:56:02 And it was like, so yeah, I could see if you are always during the weekend and never on the weekend. You'd be like, well, then what's happening on the weekend? Are you married with like children or something? Yeah. Or, yeah, or you have a girlfriend that you live with and you spend time with her on the weekend. I'm just during the weekday because you're going somewhere for a work thing or dinner or whatever. I could see that, yes, if that was what's in your mind or what, yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:56:24 Well, those are all I got for now. Okay. For now. I really appreciate your input. Yeah, heck yeah. You know? I thought it was helpful in some way to you or in people. No, it's so great.
Starting point is 00:56:32 I think it's great to have perspective from every area, especially to you, listen. The dating scene is a dumpster fire. Oh, I can only imagine. And especially here in Nashville where you are outnumbered by a bunch of other women. It was like nine women to one dude. Yeah. And it's just any big city. Like, I mean, any big city.
Starting point is 00:56:51 Also, the rural areas, you don't have a lot of a big date. It's just a dumpster fire. We don't have, we have quantity over quality is what's happening. Yes, you do have a lot of quantity, yeah. But not a lot of quality. Not a lot of quality, yeah. So, yeah, I put in a little bit extra work. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:05 I think San Francisco was a really great city to date. And just because of you had quantity, quality, and you had diversity. There are so many different kinds of people from all over the world that had come to San Francisco and like all kinds of different walks of lives and in hybrids of people because you have like, you know, Mexicans sleeping with, uh, with, with a, with a black chick or you had like, you know, Filipino and why it's so many different combinations. Like it was, I think it was the only space I felt. And I'm sure there's other places across the world, but it's the only place I felt where no one cared about what you looked like or who you were, where you're from just as long as
Starting point is 00:57:42 they were into you. It didn't like it was the first time my life, I think coming from Florida, or at least from the outskirts of Orlando. It was always like, you know, there was just like everyone stuck with who they were looked like or what they're around. But coming to San Francisco was so cool because I was always the person that was like, I'm not really actually in to the people that are here. I never really found someone that was really like, of course, my ex-wife, but that was again, that was like one of those things where it just was convenient. And then we touched in that earlier, like, it just was whatever. You wake up six months later. You're like, crap, I'm still in this thing.
Starting point is 00:58:12 Yeah. But like, it was so cool going somewhere else and just seeing different, like, different people, like for women, for men. men for women and it was just like everyone was in all kinds of cool stuff it was like free love and man but it was just it was such a cool place that I almost uh I almost encourage people to go to San Francisco if you're single I do want to go to San Francisco don't don't give me any reason to leave scuba yeah but I think you really should go there just to see all the different walks of life because it is like a melting pot of of different kinds of people from all over the world yeah that it's a pretty special place for that at least I need more of that energy in my life yeah
Starting point is 00:58:48 Like here, I mean, not trying to say, like, here it's just a lot of white people. And the only diversity you get is like, where are you from? One from Kansas. Oh, I'm from Minnesota. Oh, it's different. I'm from Florida. I'm from New York. It's just, I mean, there are other walks of life.
Starting point is 00:59:01 Or they're just, you know, we're all influencers. And that's that. Everyone's an influencer on TikTok. Yeah, like you don't get a lot of diversity. I feel like in some places like this. Because there isn't a lot of diversity, you're not getting a lot of different things to choose from. It's changing over the last four years I've lived here.
Starting point is 00:59:14 It's become more of a melting pot. But I feel like if you want a true melting pot of all kinds of, different walks of life, I recommend you go to San Francisco on like a girl's trip with like you and your best friend and just go out there with an open mind. And I'll tell you all the great places to go and where to hang out. Listen, scuba, when I was when I was swiping in Denver, or as they call Minver, I was having a great time. I was like, this is awesome. Denver's a good, a cool spot too. You have a lot of eclectic people there and different lots of life. I love, listen, I'm a mountain girl. Like I love me a mountain man. Yeah, whatever.
Starting point is 00:59:45 And this story for other things. Your eyes just closed. I just thinking about Matt and Matt. I'm in the wrong place. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I wouldn't want to be dating here. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:59:55 Hell no. Yeah. Thank God I found my soulmate. Thanks, Cuba. In San Francisco. Appreciate it. Hey, by the way, Lauren, you're screwed. I mean, Lauren, I'm Morgan.
Starting point is 01:00:03 You're screwed. Lauren too. No, Lauren's getting married. Well, Lauren's getting married. Yeah, that's right. She is. I'm just chilling over here about myself. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:11 And I say Lauren, too, because you two dress a lot alike sometimes. The other day, you were both, wearing the exact. Yeah, and that was totally unintentional. It was scary. It wasn't even like it was like a similar kind of outfit.
Starting point is 01:00:23 It was like the exact same pants, the exact same shirt. Okay. Your hairstyle, your shoes. The color scheme was spot. Like you guys were sisters. It was weird. Okay, but let's point out that like sometimes you and Ray come in here looking similar too. So sometimes it's also by proximity.
Starting point is 01:00:37 You're just around people a lot. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. And it just happened to be a day where we didn't have any guests coming in. So we were both really comfy. So like we had the same. comfy vibe coming in. But the same color scheme too in design.
Starting point is 01:00:48 I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, but blonde. Maybe even the same brand of clothes you were wearing. It was like,
Starting point is 01:00:52 he guys were both in the same floor. You know what? I was jealous because she had the dupe. And mine costs like, freaking out of $20. I was like, now I want the dupe. She's got double,
Starting point is 01:01:00 she's getting married. She's two incomes. Yeah, that's, that's another benefit too. Yeah, I don't have that benefit. I'm over here on my own, okay? I did, I did recently have a tweet
Starting point is 01:01:10 because I like, I, I, uh, you know, hey, that listens and I have my little paycheck from from best bits coming and I was like okay I need to celebrate myself nobody else is doing it treat yourself girl so I did finally buy the dyson air wrap oh nice okay but in my slurge I also bought three pairs of jeans and eight fair eight boxes of
Starting point is 01:01:31 girls scout cookies and so I tweeted that's awesome I'm either in a pre midlife crisis or I'm just single yeah nobody's really sure at this point eight boxes of gross scockego cookies that's awesome I went hard I was like, oh, I need that one. And again, all for me. Okay, yeah, yeah, it should be, yeah. That's my life. Okay, we're going to go to the Lister Q&A. We'll meet you guys over there.
