Morning. Thank you all for being here. Let's start with what's happening with everybody in a segment we call What's the Haps? A. What's the Haps? What's the Haps?

What's the Haps with you? Well, I thought I would give everybody an update on my dog. He's about nine months old now, and he had been through so much as far as medically. I get a lot of questions. Here's the overview. His name is Stanley. He's about nine months old. He's had five surgeries in the past month or so, but he's pretty good. His eyes are fixed, both of them. Oh. His breathing is much better. Had surgery on his throat. His, he gets neutered. That's fine. They ended up two eye surgeries. And then his wiener's doing okay. That's great. So, all good news.

news. Yeah. Yeah. Pretty good. So he's still at times, I can't leave him out with the Christmas tree. I was trying to leave him out when I would leave for work. It's because he is on room. I'd be like, I'm going to leave him out because I can't not leave him out for the rest of his life. So I left him out, but he hates that. I don't know what it is about the Christmas tree. So what does he do to it? Goes on and just starts eating the bottom of it, like ripping it off. He hates it. It's like someone moved in the house. He doesn't like. And so I can't leave him out with the Christmas tree. But that's good. And now he has this thing, too, where I will eat. cereal and me recommended the cereal then I eat it because it's like keto friendly and I actually drop some on the floor sometimes and he'll eat it and I don't feed him people food but what happens is when he sees that cereal he like turns into like a cereal monster and so I'm eating this bowl of cereal and he can't get to me because I can have my elbows out but he jumps over on the coffee table and then jumps back right head first into my bowl of cereal and I don't know and it was so much his head and face goes right into it and just starts eating all the cereal where I just had to laugh and almost give up. So that happened. And then also, the vet tells me when I feed him,

because I have to feed him special food for all the stuff he's going through. I dump it in and eat a bulldog. He eats it so fast. Then we're like, hey, put in one of those bowls where he has to like go around and it's like a maze. It takes longer to eat. But his nose is so short, he can't put his face in the bowl. It's just a whole thing of issues. But we're getting through it. He's healthy. He's healthy-ish right now. So that's my update. That's my What's the Haps. Hey. Hey, what's the hat? Amy. So my husband is a pilot and my son was asked, hey, like, what does your, what does your dad do? And I just thought his answer was super cute.

He said he's an airplane driver. Kind of like a bus driver, but it's not like, what does your dad do? Oh, he's a pilot. He's like, he's an airplane driver. Yeah, that's cute. I know. What does your son want to be right now? A policeman.

Still. Still. We are still on. Is it bother your husband that he doesn't want to be a pilot? A little bit. I mean, but he understands, like, I guess. guess that not every kid is going to be into what he's into, but I guess when he was five years old, because his dad was a pilot, he decided I'm going to be a pilot and he was obsessed with all

things airplane-wise. And the fact that Stevenson's not doing that, you know, a little, it's a little rough, but we'll get over it. All right, what's the haps? Hey, what's the hats? Lunchbox. Guys, Janelle Evans is moving to Nashville. I don't know who that is. She's a teen mom. Teen mom, too.

She's from teen mom two. She's getting a divorce, and she's going to start a new life in Nashville. And oh my gosh, that means I could be friends with her. She could live right down the street from me. I could make her kids be friends with my kid. I mean, this is perfect. How cool is it that Janelle Evans is moving here?

This is one of those things that where I would encourage you to play it a little cooler. Remember when he came out and was like screaming about Johnny Bananas? Yes. And how did that friendship end up blossoming? No, it's a real question. No, it didn't blossom. I just think you go a little too hard to where they're like, Ooh, that guy's kind of crazier than he is, normal.

Yeah. You just want to be your friend. Just try to be your friend. Well, I got to get her to be back on my good. She blocked me on Twitter already. Oh, that's tough. It's going to be tough to get the kids playing if she's blocking you on social media. Sounds impossible.

But that's a good point. You can use the kids. Yeah, exactly. I thought it was perfect. Like, oh, find out they're going to be playing at the park. Oh, we go to that park all the time. Will you find out where she lives? Absolutely.

Will you go by our house? I will. Okay. How are you going to find out? Eyes, the internet is out there. People will figure it out for me. There's good detectives. All right, there he goes.

Hey, what's the hats? Eddie? Well, I've been wondering when this was going to happen, but finally my six-year-old saw me playing guitar. He went to one of our raging idiot shows. I've been playing guitar for a long time, and I was wondering, when is one of my kids going to finally want him to learn how to play guitar?

My six-year-old, he came up to me with his own little guitar and said, Dad, will you show me how to play this thing? Dude, what a big moment in our life. So I showed him the decord. And a lot of songs start with a D chord So now he walks around with a D chord And try to play it a little bit It's not perfect

Okay, so what happens? Okay, so my friend went on a date, and it was a very first date. And when the bill came, she likes, you know how when you go out with the girl, you appreciate the wallet grab? Yeah, I appreciate the reach. I'm not going to let you pay ever. But you like if the girl is like going into her bag to get her wallet, but then you're like, I got this, I got this. Yes, it's like, this is the move with me because I'm dating. So reach for yours. Right. And I'd be like, whoa, whoa, no, no. We're not going to split it. Right. Stop, stop. It's not even an option to split it. I'm going to. to get it.

Right. Okay. Okay. So my friend, who is dating a lot right now, I mean, and she's like our age, so she's like ready to find somebody. But when the bill came, she was like, it kind of was, she just, I don't know. I guess she just felt like she's used to paying because she's an independent female. She works hard.

So she just kind of instinctually was like, no, I got this. But then also at the same time kind of thought after that came out of her mouth that he would be like, no way I got this. but he said, okay. So she was like so confused. She goes, I know I'm in the wrong because I said I got this. That's all of me. I take full responsibility.

She's like, but the fact that he just said, okay, and then let me pay was a turnoff. Okay, so here's the thing. I'm dating to, right? Yeah. So it's me and my personal belief system and how I live in my life, I would never let someone pay. Right. I wouldn't let someone pay me and how I live my life. Okay?

Right. And by the way, I don't even think about her paying the whole bill. I'm thinking like, I'm not even going to let you split, right? When she first told me the story, I thought, oh, okay, y'all went Dutch, which I was like, okay. And she goes, no, no, I paid for the whole thing. He didn't even say, let's at least go halvesies, nothing. He just said, okay. But here's my, the only thing I have to say back.

Like, if you say it, though, I know, mean it. You're bound to it. And she did. She was bound to it. She paid for it. She didn't look at him and say, you're joking, right? I hear, you pay for it. I mean, she paid for it.

But you can also make your decision on that person based on what that answer is too. Like she has every, you're all making decisions based on your actions there. Everybody's making a decision based on everybody's action. Yeah. If I were with you and you grab it and I said, no, you can then go, oh, because I had a girls get mad at me for opening doors for them. They're like, we don't like I go to my own door. But you're all making decisions based on what you're looking for in your life on every little action that you're making. Yeah.

She's looking for somebody to not say, okay. She's looking for somebody to say, oh, no, no, no, no, thank you, but I got this. Yeah. It's definitely a thing where if she said it, okay, it's like negotiating a contract. Like you can go with you little thing, you're bluff. But if they go, okay, you're done. You've said it. You're in.

So that's basically all dating is a contract negotiation in some form. So she has the right to also be turned off by him not doing it. But he has every right to be like, oh, you want to do it? You should pay. Everybody's testing everybody. Okay. But it's hilarious. I know.

Because I would never allow that. In my life. She totally thought. But maybe he was raised by different parents that are like, hey, if someone offers to pay and they're being generous, let them have their generosity. We're all raised by different people living different lives. But hilarious. I texted her because I know her too.

And I was like, ah, he got you. But don't offer it in life. The two things that I've been working on. Don't offer it if you don't mean it. I always mean I want to offer it. But also, if someone offers it, they mean it and take it. You have to live by, if you're going to live by your rule, If I'm offering it, this is a sincere offer,

then you have to accept everybody else that their offers a sincere offer. So maybe that's what he was doing, is living by that rule. And maybe he's turned on because he's like, oh my gosh, this girl is amazing. She paid for me.

And he probably went to his friends and was like, I went on the greatest date. This girl's amazing. I'm going to marry her. She paid. She's not going to marry him. Well, listen,

that's on them to figure that out. But I mean, even more so than dating, here's my point. If you're going to say, I only offer sincerely to people, then you have to take their offers as sincere to.

Okay. And I'm talking to myself as well. Okay. Because I do offering, go ahead. I'd like to help you here. I'd like to do this. Will you take this? And you're like, oh, I don't know.

Like, I wouldn't offer for one's sincere. I mean, you can stay in my house with your family when you move. Yeah, I know you said it. I even listened back on the replay that you said that. I was like, wow, he said that. And I think he means it. And therefore, when you offer me things, I'm always like, ah, she doesn't mean it. But I can't, it's not fair to me to offer sincere but not take sincere offers.

Bigger than life, but hilarious. Yeah. And now she knows. Now she knows. And that's not for her. It could be for somebody else. Yeah. But not for her.

Some girls might be into guys being like, okay. But she... She's not. She's not. And I wouldn't... Me neither. Me neither. Yeah, yeah.

So what happened? So you know how I've been telling you they have the auctions in my neighborhood where they just sell a house? They say auction. And on this day you go and you bid on the house. So do people get to go inside the house? Yes, it's open for everybody. You can walk in, check it.

It's sort of like storage wars on TV. You can look at everything. And then at 1.30 say that's the time. They just start, all right, here we go now. We're going to start the bidding. And they start bidding and people, yep, yep. And they start bidding on the house. So you went.

Absolutely. No intention on buying the house. I just want to drive the price up. Oh, that's such a bummer. You're such a jerk, man. Why would you do that? Like, what's your motivation for doing it? Man, it's just fun. I've always watched storage wars and I think it's cool how they get to go.

Yep. Oh, me. You know, things like that. And so I want to be a part of it. And so I go to these houses and I mean, I just want to be part of the action. But you know that someone's paying more money for something because of what you're doing. Well, I mean, that's the business. Okay. And there's no chance that you'd win this thing. No, no, no. Like whenever it starts, I start getting nervous when like people start dropping out and then I'm like, all right, I got to stop because I see, okay, someone walking. away because people once they're done bidding, they just leave. And so you're down to like five people, I'm like, okay, I better not bid anymore.

Did people? Oh, people. Well, they have people in the crowd that are you sure you don't want to go higher. They point at you like, you should keep going. And I'm like, no, no, no. And what did it feel like whenever he'd acknowledge you?

Oh, man, it felt like you were winning. He's like, yeah, this guy wants it. Like, he felt like you were friends. Like, hey, you know what? You're a hero for bidding on this house. And I felt like I was doing good because I was going to improve the neighborhood. But then, I mean, it just keeps flying up. And he goes so fast. Like, he moves on from you real quick, though. Did you see anybody that won the house? Oh, I saw it. It was a couple.

Yeah, they won. They were high-fiving each other. What were your thoughts on that? I was proud of them. I was happy. I think they got a beautiful property. They're probably just going to tear down the house and build something new and sell it. But, hey, props to them.

I'm sorry that I couldn't win. And what does your wife think about this? She thinks it's stupid. Okay. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan number two. 30 Second Skinny. Garth Brooks documentary, The Road I'm on, is airing tonight and tomorrow on A&E.

And in it, Garth's ex-wife, Sandy, talks about their marriage. And he says she's phenomenal with her interview. It airs at 9-8 Central. Luke Combs loves that his parents join him on the road. My dad's 64 and my mom's 58. And so seeing them both be retired, watching that happen has been not only a joy for me, but a great way for them to have the financial. freedom and the ability to come out and experience some of these awesome things that I get to do right by my side.

Thomas Wrette shared that he and his wife, Lauren, have been asked a bunch of times to do a reality TV show, but he says that's something they never do. He confess that they already give enough of themselves on social media and a reality show might just be too much. I'm Morgan number two. That's your skinny. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. This is just the cutest thing ever. There's this knitting club at a retirement community in Texas,

and they've been knitting for like 10 years, and they have like a knitting group name. They're called the knitwits. That's funny. K&I.T. The knitwits, yeah. Get it. And they put together like knit caps and scarves, and they send them to troops serving in Afghanistan,

which it gets freezing cold there in the winter. So, I mean, just super cool. And I love it. Right now there's about 20 members of the knitwits. And they spread their love through knitting. That's a good story. My favorite knitting group, it's a country group called the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Oh, yeah.

Or in a Hallmark movie, it's like girl from the city meets country guy. Right. That's like either runs a coffee shop or is a Christmas tree farm.

the music teacher and her best friend. As each person receives her card, they are sparked to act in their own personal lives to make them better. It's called The Right Before Christmas. That is quite the detail for something that might not be real, so don't know if I've seen it, but I'll watch it. Yes. Okay. You're pretty good at that game.

You know what I also read is they sent someone with the movie. Who? Well, someone from, no, not like a stormtrooper, but someone. Tobacco. Someone from Disney to make sure, because they don't, and rightfully so, they don't trust anyone blindly. They don't just mail them one because you can bootleg that stuff. So awesome, they sent it and they send someone too to kind of watch it with them to make sure they don't like shoot video. Self-destruct. Because here's a couple things. One, even with this show,

people have lied to me about how sick they are and they're like, oh, I'm dying. I really need to meet Stapleton. Oh, oh. Or man, if you can just get me that Pym, tell us meet and greet because I don't have long to live. And I'm being a little hyperbolic there. But the truth is, I've made things happen for people off the air, and then it turns out they were lying. So then you don't trust anybody. It's a bummer. Can you imagine everybody asking Disney, come on, if you could just send me to that new minion.

Let me get on there. So, yeah, so what they do is, by the way, great for them to send that on. But I did see that they sent someone. They always send someone with them. Just to make sure. Just to make sure. Speaking of pirating, not to throw Eddie's kids under the bus, but Eddie's oldest son, Eddie Jr., who's 11, has been pirating Disney Plus.

Yeah, he's probably not proud of me. if I talk about this. But yeah, he's been, he has Disney Plus and some of his friends don't have Disney Plus. So he's been recording scenes from certain shows on Disney Plus and sent him to his friends. And I had to have a serious talk to him. Oh my gosh. Wow. I was like, buddy, though, this could be illegal.

You got to be careful. That could be is. Yeah. Yeah. They're probably not getting pressed charges unless you get on like a national radio show and talk about it. Well, I'm not going to do that. No, no, of course. We don't even say his name.

God, kids these days. My daughter does the same thing with her tablet, not for other people, but for herself. She's not allowed to watch certain things on her tablet, like download them, but she's allowed to take video. So with her tablet, she took pictures and video of things and music and stuff she wants to watch in here back and keeps it in her video folder. So when she wants to watch it, she just watches it. How do they think of this Eddie? I like their effort. Where there's a will, there's a way. Figured it out.

I probably watching their parents learning how to do this illegal stuff. Wait, well, speaking of Disney Plus and Star Wars, there's some new show called like The Mandalorian or something. Mike D. Well, we talked about it. Mike D watched it. It's a Star Wars spin-offish-off. Okay, yeah. Well, I guess I forgot about that. We watched one episode. I fell asleep, but... Well, and you may not remember we talked about it because it's so out of what we watched. So I didn't even know that's what we...

Yes. Sorry, Mike D. I asked Mike D. if I should watch it, but you said to me no. Yeah, you haven't seen any Star Wars, so you won't like it. That's probably why. That's probably why I fell asleep too. And probably while Mike D. was talking as well. But Baby Yoda's in that one, right? Yeah. Is that where Baby Yoda is?

Did I see all the memes about it? Yeah, baby Yoda. Is he smart? Is baby Yoda already smart? He's like has like the early powers of Yoda, yeah. It's not Yoda. It's not actually Yoda. He's a species. Yeah.

I don't know what that means. Amy, you're up again because I'm lost. Okay. So Bobby put this on his Insta story and it's just a good reminder, I think, for all of us. So I pulled it. And it's don't charge your phones in those little USBs that are conveniently provided for you. like at coffee shops or airports or whatever because obviously when you're desperate

that's what you want to do but hackers are there waiting to just pull all your info. Really? Yeah. It's still on my Instagram story right now. I saw it in the New York Times. They're putting malware in a lot of these things. As soon as you plug in into your phone, malware takes it and they have it all.

Now, what I have done and I just, I love it is I bought one and I wish I had it in here. I do have it in here. I have one of those. What are those things called where you charge your phone? Like a mofee? Okay, so it's a mofi, but check this out. It's like a, oh man, I just don't plug my headphones. A mofie that protects you? No, but it's just a mofi so you don't need to plug your phone up at the coffee shop. Oh, you keep it charged.

Oh, you charge the mofie. So, and you, look at this. This is the best one I've ever bought. It's this. Oh, that's like a battery mofi. It's not, mofi used to be what you put around your phone. This is just like an extra battery. I have that. And you, it's like got three phone charges on it. And again, you have to be responsible to have to keep this thing charged to. Which I am. I'm not. But this is, this version of the Mofi is the greatest thing. And I avoid that airport or a coffee shop getting hacked. That'd be a good Christmas present.

I also have LifeLock. Yes. Shout out. LifeLock. What else you got? So an expectant mother who was 38 weeks pregnant and cleared by her doctor to fly and the airline, again, at 38 weeks pregnant. Which, Eddie, what's full term? 38?

I guess. Oh, my gosh. Eddie has four kids. He knows. I'm the dad. Yes. So I'm pretty sure that's basically you're about to get birth. But she was cleared to fly.

And sure enough, gave birth on an American Airlines flight. I saw it. And they gave the baby the middle name, Sky. Get it. No, I do. She may have had to get somewhere, right? That's super important. She said she felt her water break in the sky.

And she tapped her husband. She was like, oh, my gosh, I think my water just broke. So, yeah, American Airlines flight had an extra passenger before everyone got off. the plane. But I think she had it on the ground. Yeah, they did a landing and then she gave birth on the jetway. But, like, she went on that plane with no baby. She exited the plane with a baby.

That she was that pregnant on the plane. Yeah, you shouldn't do that. If she was just going for vacation, bad her. If she needed to get somewhere, I, listen, when you got to do it, you got to do it. You probably don't think it had the kid. But if you're probably just going, like, down to 30A, Pavelo Beach time, that pregnant, like baby moon. Yeah.

Yeah. Middle name's sky, though. I'm glad everybody's healthy and they got that all fixed. Yeah. I have a friend as a doctor and she was talking about they did the, is there any, is there a doctor on board? Now, she does eyes. And they were like, hey, they're a doctor on board. She's like, oh, great.

Like, kind of. But she's a doctor. Yeah. And so she's like, I'm a doctor. But apparently a kid had ruptured their eardrums on the plane. And so they were like, we'll take any doctor. And so she goes, and you know, her specialty isn't ears. But I guess when you're a doctor, you're just a doctor.

On a plane, they'll take anything. And so she went and was like, well, there's not a lot you can do because the kids got ruptured ears. But I just thought it was crazy that even though she wasn't the right kind of doctor, they were like, we'll take any doctor in this situation. So I wonder what that situation was on an airplane. I don't know. I don't know.

Is there a doctor? Well, I'm a vet. All right. That works. Come on. I think because they had landed and they were on the jetway, they were able to gather paramedics and firefighters, and they came and helped.

But definitely gave birth there and her water broke in the sky. I'm sure the pressure of flying because all this stuff happens. Squirts the baby out. Oh my gosh. She's like the water. I'm Amy. That's my file. That was Amy's pile of stories.

Come on up. Tell me something good. Guys going out to have some dinner with his wife. He sees a crazy explosion across the street. And what he does next will make you go, I wonder if I would have done that. Just a random dude out having dinner, and this happens. We'll talk about that and tell me something good.

He had been on his way home from getting more gas for his generators when one of the gas cans spilled in the back seat. He had been smoking a cigarette at the time. The fuel suddenly ignited. and caused an explosion of flame inside the car. Oh my God. That's all crazy. By the way, the gas fills Andy Smith.

By the way, if you have gas in the back, see, the car don't smoke. Yeah, don't do that. Okay, this is, in hindsight. In hindsight. After experiencing a wave of yellow light and heat, the dazed Connecticut driver said he tried to undo a seatbelt, but to no avail. Luckily, Edward Seer was on his way to dinner with his wife, saw the explosion from across the street.

The security footage captured the minute he ran up to the vehicle as the car was on fire. He just then and pulls him out. So I didn't even see the guy come to the door. He opens it up and reaches in and gets my seatbelt off. Since a random ambulance also happened to be passing, they quickly got him for treatment. I mean, this guy's a hero. He jumped into a fire to save somebody else.

Hi, Bobby. Good morning to you. Hi. Oh, this is so exciting. Okay, I'm an eighth grade math teacher in Auburn, Alabama, and our town just went through, kind of something really sad. A girl went missing and ended up fighting her. Anyway, my eighth grade students know way too much for their age, and I would just love to play back some piece of advice you have for them as they, you know, grow older and for the future and for the rest of the year. I just want to play something bad from you. I talk about you all the time. You're on my first day at school slide.

So I look up to you and the kids look up to you so much. Okay. Yeah, I can say something to them. To all the eighth graders listening right now. Hello, it's your friend Bobby Bones. Let me say this. Eighth grade is a weird time in your life because your body's doing different things. you're starting to feel the pressures of looking a certain way, social media.

Like there's a lot. Like I feel for you guys. You guys have a lot of extra pressure on you. What I would encourage you to do is if you see someone being bullied on social media or just in general to kind of step in and be a support voice to them, even for them, also understand that if somebody is treating someone badly, again, bullying. Most of it's because they're hurting. Like, happy people don't pick on other kids. Right.

In eighth grade is that age where you guys are starting to be adults. And so, you know who's going to look out for you? You guys are going to look out for each other. So as you're sitting here listening to this right now, because listen, I know you're teaching you listening to some dude on the radio right now. I get it. But I'm going to tell you, look out for your classmates. If there's something that's happening where somebody is not,

not feeling good because of what somebody else is saying or doing. Like step in, you don't have to step in and like step up to the bully and punch them in the face. But what you can do is give some support to the person that's kind of being hated on a little bit. That's what I would encourage you to do. So look out for your, it's going to be a common theme in your life. You look out for people, people look out for you. That's how we as a society go further is by looking out for each other.

That's what I want to say to all of you eighth graders listening now. Be there for somebody. That was great, Bobby. I was bullied in eighth grade and that's why I'm an eighth grade teacher. parents, if I can change one lives, that's my purpose. So thank you for that, and I can't wait to show the kids. Well, Amy, anything you'd like to say? The eighth graders are on right now.

Oh, man. I would just say, also take that stuff home. Like, I don't know everybody's family life, what it's like, but I know in eighth grade, I tried to really, I was resistant to my mom and anything she tried to do for me and be there for me. But I realized later, like, how important family was. So whoever is your family figure in your life, your mom, your dad, aunt, uncle, sister, brothers, whatever, like respect and honor them and cherish those relationships. I'll also add as a final exclamation point, wear deodorant.

Oh, that's a good one. Yeah, because sometimes in eighth grade, you still may not be there all the way. Mm-hmm. It starts to hit you about sixth grade for some folks, but gay, wear deodorant. You go football, you go have a little, you need to, you don't smell great kids, young adult kids. Young adult kids. Yeah. Okay.

She said apples were her idea, but she did, that was our place setting. And the beauty of that afterwards is nobody ate their apple. And so now we have like tons of green apples left over. My kids are pumped because that's their favorite apple. Well, I give it five out of five cornucopias. But thanksgiving. Thank you. Yeah, yeah.

And I tell you, you know, we went around the table and Amy's like, okay, everybody said what they're grateful for. And I'm like, oh my gosh, there's so many people around this table. Just one thing. And here's the thing, too. We already got our food. And our food is warm in front of us. Oh, my gosh.

We could eat while it was happening. And then Amy's like, okay, everybody. Say what you're thankful for. And everybody's looking around like, can we eat? And where you were born. Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, no, she wanted a whole bio. Yeah, she wanted.

Because we had people from Haiti and South Korea and, like, America. And everybody in America was all born in different places. So I thought, well, this is a great time to just know where people were born and then share one thing that you're thankful for. And so, you know, by God, we did it. We went around the table. Yeah. It took a minute, but we got there.

It took a minute. It felt like a graduation when you go and you go, does everybody have to get their diploma? Like, can we just have to be like, okay, class, you graduated. Yeah, but it's Thanksgiving. You're supposed to share it. It's like gratitude. Absolutely. Now, did people double up on what they were thankful for?

Do you have to be original? Oh, yeah, no. Some people doubled up. My dad got, everyone was thankful for pap all. I was like, okay, you win, dad. I bet there was a pressure, though. Well, I always feel pressure in those settings. Because when it comes to like, okay, Bobby is the guy who says stuff for a living.

He's got to be funny. Oh, right. Let's see what Bobby's going to say. Of course, Bobby said something funny. Well, no, mine wasn't so much funny. It was serious, but funny. But I always feel on odd pressure to perform even when I'm not supposed to perform. There were a lot of people there.

There were even show listeners there that I hadn't met yet. And I know they were like, oh, let's see what he's going to say when he's not on the air. And maybe I'm projecting a bit onto them. of what I feel like they're thinking. But so we're going around and what had happened at Amy's house was it's hard for Amy's daughter and I to really bond over anything.

She's a 12 year old girl from Haiti. Like, I don't know what 12 year old girls are doing anyway, but insert a girl who's only been here for two years into America. And I'm like, so we struggle on that because I don't really ever know what to do. Her son, knock it out of the park. You're going to play video games.

You're going to throw the ball, pick you up over my head. all that's fine. But her daughter I struggle with, but her daughter is really into TikTok. You know who else in a TikTok? Your boy here. Me too. And so we spent like half an hour on TikTok

like doing dances. And so there's one up on my TikTok but also my Instagram, Mr. Bobby Bones, where I taught her how to actually count an eight count. And then we did the dance on TikTok. And so when it came around to me,

I said, you know, and everybody was being thankful about really serious things, health, love. And I say, you know, I was just like, say I'm very thankful for TikTok. And people were like,

and I was like, because it's the first time that Stashira doesn't think I'm just the dumb old guy who has nothing to talk about with. I said because we were actually able to spend time with each other and bond over TikTok. And so that was what I was thankful for. So it was special. Like it was funny, but then special

because in a way you were also saying you were thankful with Sashira. Yeah. It was really the first time that she just saw me as like somebody to do something fun with. Instead of someone that was just forced in her house, because I do try to be as present as I can with Amy's kids at times.

And her daughter does feel differently about me as her son. Because I just have spent more time with him because I know what to do with him. All to do with the twill... Now I do. Just open to TikTok. And we get on that app and we did it. We did a dance. That was cute.

Yeah, it was good. And Amy's daughter's good at TikTok. Yeah. I saw the video. You guys nailed it. Not just that, no, no. She's good at making lots of videos. It's not just dancing.

Also like comedy bits. Oh, wow. Yeah. Like, she's clever. What were you thankful for? I was thankful for my sister. Oh, that's right. They almost started crying.

No, we did it. Really? Yeah, huh? Uh-huh. Okay, whatever. Uh-huh. But I really was. Like, she got, that's a, like, her and her family.

They came to stay with me for a week and just remind me how thankful I am to have her in my life. And a lot of the awesomeness that was at my house that looks so good, that's her. I was thankful because people think it's me. And I'm like, yeah, welcome to my house. But she's like Martha Stewart, so it was awesome. And we took a big picture all in the stairs. You may see it on my Instagram. Yeah, I saw that.

Mr. Bobby Bones on my Instagram. It was great. Thank you for inviting me. Thank you for coming. I didn't feel like I was imposing. Good. Brought Nurse Bobo. Bobo and I went over. We sat and ate and it was great.

How would you do with all the food? Oh my gosh. We were trying. We bought a bunch of Tupperware things so that people would hopefully take a lot to go. And not many people wanted to take it to go because everyone was traveling. You were traveling them. But everyone was like, oh, flying out the next day. Flying out the next day.

I got to travel. And it's like, okay. So, I mean, we still have some. I guess. We've just been eating off of it. Yeah. Yeah. It's great.

The Cowboys lost. Sorry about that, Eddina. That was a bad deal. Bummer. Bitter taste of Thanksgiving on that one. Yeah. That wasn't the great sport. Sports, I did go to a Knicks game.

Yeah, dude. Pretty baller. Yeah. Baller. I've never been to the Knicks. Watch the Knicks play. At the Garden. Yeah, and I've never been to Madison Square Garden.

I'm not New York City guy. I'm Arkansas guy. I'm Nashville guy. And so, but I go and they put me on the court. I sat court side. It was crazy. They put me up on the Jumbotron. I don't know what that's called it Jumbotron.

Whatever the screen is. They put me on the screen and I was like, what? Crazy. What's it like to watch basketball? Like right there on the court. They're so big. One of the guys fell on my lap. I was going to ask if you got sweat on you.

Amy, I was right on the court and one of the guy was like falling backward, fighting for a ball and he sits in my lap. And you're supposed to like put your arms up and pushing back, but I was just so happy. I got to touch one of my wrap my arms around his waist. Wouldn't let him go. They had to, like, escort you out.

I was like, hey, man, sorry. I'm like, no, no. You're good, you're good. Yeah, so it was fun. So I did that and then flew to L.A. last night. So I'm in California to do American Idol for this week. But it was, I'll say this. As we wrap up our Thanksgiving talk here, it was fantastic.

You really outdid yourself this year. Your first time hosting could not be happier that I went and could not be prouder for what you put on. Oh, well, thank you. I'm so glad you came. Yeah, me too. Got a couple things. I read a story about a dog that really freaked me out because this could happen to me.

Oh, no. You know who else's dog licked him all the time? Me. Yeah. Wait, he died. According to the report, the 63-year-old was healthy before coming down with a fever, trouble breathing, leg pain, a rash of purplish red splotches on his face and legs. He was admitted into the intensive care unit when his organs started failing.

Despite strong antibiotics and other efforts to save him, his condition declined rapidly. He died. His doctors were able to determine he'd been affected with a bacterium called, not even try to pronounce it, A germ commonly found in the amounts of dogs and cats that causes usually no harm to either animals or their owners. The Center for Disease Control says those most at risk for this are people whose immune system are either compromised a bit or drink alcohol excessively. And I don't think I'm either one of them, but you never know till you know. Saw this, freak me out because I'm letting my dog lick me more. Yeah.

You should not let it lick you, I guess. My dog? Yeah. What are you going to do? I'm going to tell you what I did this weekend, though, because we were off for four days. and I was at the house for most of it. And I don't let my dog sleep in the bed with me as a general rule because that can't be his bed. He needs to have his own room, but I did let him a couple nights because I was like, he's here anyway.

He snores so loud. I'm going to now play you a clip of my bulldog nine months old. He snores louder than the TV that I can't hear the TV. Here you go. And that's just taking from my phone. Yeah, how did you even sleep? play it again please and that's after his surgery he snore I can't and I can't like

when I do get a girlfriend I can't like okay come stay at the house and then she's in my dog's like he's not a big farter yet which apparently bulldogs do but he snores so loud so the first night I got through it the second night I woke up halfway through the night and took him to his room I was like I can't do this again too much but he snores so loud it is it's cute if you only hear loud it's if you only hear this This clip right here, it's cute. So, but I did let him sleep in the bed.

Again, on my Instagram, there's a picture of him just going bonkers in my house. It was raining. Are we any closer to you getting a girlfriend? Wow, that's a loaded question. Well, you brought it up. Okay. I'm not ready to talk about that. Not today.

It's a good answer, well. Good answer. Here's a good answer. Here's why I'm not ready to talk about it. Because if there was no chance, if I was like nowhere, nowhere near, how we go, nope. Exactly. But if there was a good chance, I'll be like, you know, there's something, it's kind of that purgatory right now. Like, there's a, I don't even want to say it, but.

Okay. Remember the game Buck Hunter? What? This is a deer hunting game? Yeah. No, I don't. Where are you going with this? Here we go.

Buck or duck? Buck. Oh. And you would see them out there kind of far and you would hope that they were, but they were out there. And you knew you could see the actual buck. But what you needed to walk toward the screen a little more because you didn't want to, because if you shot, like in real life, the deer would run off. So you wouldn't shoot when it was too far away. So you needed it to walk.

Sometimes it didn't, sometimes they did. I know exactly what you're talking about. But you didn't shoot at the buck when it was too far away because you didn't, you didn't want to scare it off. So you just sat quietly. And it was there and it definitely could. And you could, you know, prize buck. Amy, are you getting all this in? You hear what he's saying?

Yeah, I get it. I'm playing a buck on it right now, and there's a buck out there. And it's so far away, though, that I don't want to shoot at it and go, that's it, because it gets scared it off. But you like what you see. It looks like it could be a big buck. It looks like at least a 10 point. This is good stuff. Yeah, like, you know, pretty widespread.

I mean, every girl loves to be compared to a buck, so yeah. It's a weird analogy, but I see what he's saying. Yeah. That's all I'm saying. Okay, I'm done with this conversation. But no. but yes, but no. The answer is we're not talking about it.

like what someone in the medical world really says about sleep and also screen time. Like, should you, you know, be on your phone right before you go to sleep? Yeah. And I don't know the answer is no, you shouldn't. But like, really. Like, why? Like, what's the deal here? I'm tired of reading.

things happening in our lives that maybe we feel dumb about asking. And I wanted to bring him on and actually talk about the importance of sleep today. Here he is. on right now. What up, Bobo. Hey, what's that man? Hey, I want to ask you, first of all, you know, there's so many stories happening about how much sleep we should be getting

per night. Like, what is, how many hours of sleep shall we get? I tell people 8 to 10. The reason I base out as 8 to 10 is there's been enough research now that shows that 8 to 10 hours is really optimal. Is it possible to catch up on sleep

on a weekend and just like, I'm going to get a whole bunch of sleep because I miss some sleep during the week? No, it'll put me. make you mentally feel better to catch up, but it's really about consistency, not overnight. I mean, sure, that one night helps you, but it really doesn't, that lifestyle doesn't benefit you long term. It's like one all-nighter, like people that party or people that study, like, you know, people that study through the night or people that are stuck up all night with a baby.

It usually takes around 14 days to fully catch up from one all-nighter. Oh, my gosh. So, I mean, you could extrapolate that over, you know, all week getting four hours of sleep. You're not going to make it up on one night and getting 10 hours of sleep on a weekend. A question that Amy and I talk about a bit is screen time. How does screen time affect your sleep? Well, it's huge in the effect at night, which is a huge time when people are in front of a screen. So when you're in front of your screen within about an hour and a half to two hours before bed,

time you're decreasing your melatonin production by a good bit. Melatonin really helps you get the sleep, stay asleep, makes you sleep more effective. It's hormone. But when you decrease, and people take melatonin supplements to sleep better. You know, I know a lot of people that do that. So it decreases that blue light from phones, TVs will decrease your melatonin, which essentially makes your sleep less quality. So are you saying that I shouldn't watch TV when I sleep? Because I leave a it on and I watch the office and then I leave it on as I sleep. But what happens now with Netflix is it goes,

are you sure you want to keep watching? And then it shuts itself down in the middle of the night, which is great. Then I have dreams. After that goes off, I have dreams. Yeah. Yeah, it's crazy. So are you saying I shouldn't do that? You definitely shouldn't. Wait, but what if he wears the glasses? What if I sleep in those blue blocker glasses or whatever? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, the blue

blocker glasses definitely help, but I would tell you, you should be sleeping in a pitch black room. What about just in general with all these screens? We need take a break with that? Like, in the middle of the day? How many out? My phone says I'm on like seven hours a day sometimes. Being on your phone over three hours has been shown to alter your, your neuroplasticity or create hardwired in electrical pathways and ways of thought and ways of like habits, so to speak, that truly can affect your quality of life. And that's not

Instagram and Facebook specific. That's sitting in front of a phone, period. Oh, wow. So So you're saying seven hours probably ain't that good. Probably not good. My screen time is not good either, you know? And then you start to alter like chemical, like happy euphoric and good feeling, bad feeling things in your brain with your dopamine. Like every time you get a direct message or a or it lights up. Yeah, I like that. I like that when I get a message.

I'm like, woo, I get a little thrill. I like those thrills. All right, Nurse Bobo is on with us right now. We're talking about the importance of sleep and getting away from screens. Let's end on this, Bobo. Give us something. about, we need to know about sleep to help us as we walk into the holidays here? Well, as busy as we are, I always tell people the easiest way to get better sleep is to

approach sleep the same way you do your mornings. Most people have a morning routine. You get up, you shower, you brush your teeth, eat breakfast, make a cup of coffee, you go to work. At night, we don't have routines, and that's the reason it makes it so much more difficult to go to sleep. We don't approach sleep the same way we approach work. So by creating some kind of that will definitely help you a great deal in getting more sleep. So about an hour, hour and a half before you're actually going to bed, just create some kind of routine of this is what I do every night. And it'll make actually getting to sleep much more efficient

and your sleep will over time become more and more quality. So I should approach sleep like I shoot free throws. Every little thing, get my little routine down. When I'm at the line, you know, I flip the ball. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Two dribbles. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Panic hit one California target After someone shouted There was a shooter Oh boy this is anywhere I'm out Yeah terrible Not funny The incident took place

in Fremont, California, and pandemonium and warranted, because I wouldn't went nuts too if someone yells someone shooting. When someone yells shooter in the middle of the crowd, one other person who was present tweeted out that they had to sprint out the emergency exit while others warned to stay clear of the area. It turned out to be a false alarm or a prank. They don't know which one. There is a difference, too, by the way.

Yeah. If you literally think there's a shooter in your wrong, wrong, that's a false alarm. If you're a bad person and you yell shooter, that's a prank. Trying to be funny. But again, not that many crazy Black Friday stories.

And there are a few, so don't at me. Don't hit me on Twitter with all the stories, because there are a few. A man was left with a broken nose after getting into a fight with another man at a Walmart. Cell phone video shows the two men, one an active Marine and the other retired Marine. Whoa.

In a physical altercation in the Christmas gift wrapping aisle. Oh, dang. The fight started when one of the men responded rudely to being bumped by an elderly woman's shopping cart. The other man came to the woman's defense and then the fight ensued. A security guard had to break them up and neither wanted to pursue charges against each other.

See, this is all we have now. Back in the good old days. Nothing. Wait, but what... Back in the good old days, you'd watch people like punching each other for a teddy ruckspin. Like nine people. It was a bra. It was like, It was like Survivor Series and wrestling. It's like a Royal Rumble.
