Starting point is 00:02:49 All right. The Bobby Bones, post show, pre-show. Literally before we hopped on the air right now, I said, you guys have anything you want to talk about. Like, that's how unprepared we are for this part of it. the podcast. And what did everyone say? Nobody said anything.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Nobody even looked up from their laptops. I have to go to the bathroom so bad. I didn't know where you were about to start this. But it's fine. What are you going to talk about? Well, go to the bathroom. No, I'm not going to leave the room and leave it rolling for you to talk about me while I'm going. We would too.
Starting point is 00:03:16 The new raging idiot's song, Eddie, watch on Apple, like iTunes. I'm refreshing, but not anything. We didn't get it up in time. I was playing it this morning on the show, and then we didn't get it up in time. But it should be up now, emoji love. We got that. That Emoji love Whoa
Starting point is 00:03:32 Check it out That instant story video is pretty good Huh? That lyric video on my Instagram Oh yeah, that is good Yeah That's pretty good My Jessica, my sister did it
Starting point is 00:03:41 Like last minute She was like That's pretty good Yeah Okay, the end I see it tomorrow everybody That's it? What?
Starting point is 00:03:48 I'm just kidding You know what I didn't talk about today Is I had the shoulder injury And I have to inject myself With a needle And I hate needles Nobody likes them But I hate them
Starting point is 00:03:58 and yesterday I took this needle and I'm not going to be descriptive because I don't even like hearing that myself but I don't know how to do it and you stick it into the thing and you pull the tab and the needle fills up and the doctor's like okay pinch your stomach and then take the needle
Starting point is 00:04:14 and you know insert it which feels like shoving it in your body that's what diabetics do for insulin I know it's on my answer story too I was like can you believe this and so I did and the first time Amy I took it and I rammed it to my stomach and it just bounced.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Oh, that's so awful. It didn't go in. I was so sorry. I was like, there's no way. Not happening. Dude, that's crazy. But then I couldn't. So then I just kind of put it on top of it and slowly.
Starting point is 00:04:40 And then it's not that bad once it's there. It's like, once you get through that pit pop, you're good, right? But it's not play. I got a B-12 shot last night. Not feeling great. Not feeling bad, but I have this, whatever this sinus thing is. And when you don't do it, it still suck. But when you don't do it, you don't know it's coming.
Starting point is 00:05:01 It's like slapping yourself in the face hard. Never done that. Well, it'd be hard to. Right, right. Like, want to, yeah. If someone's like you have to put a bruise on your face, do it. Have you ever punched yourself? No, but it would be hard.
Starting point is 00:05:14 Even if I paid you a hundred bucks. Yeah, that'd be hard. To give yourself a black eye. It'd be really hard to do. Right? To give myself a black eye. I'd have to punch myself multiple times. Would you do that?
Starting point is 00:05:26 not for 100. How much? Black eye? Yeah. 500? 250. Well, come on. 400.
Starting point is 00:05:35 3. 4.50. You just went up. I know. That's my negotiation. 250. Oh, man. No, I can do that.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Like, I've never been punched. I don't even know what that feels like. You have to give yourself a black eye for $250. Lunch bucks? No. That hurts. Have you been punched lunch? Of course you have.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Yeah. Yeah. it. Eddie, do it to yourself. I mean, that may be better because you know it's coming and that's why I wouldn't want to do it. But question. For 250, would you give yourself a black eye? I don't want to damage the eye situation. It would have to be a slap that I would do. So to slap myself maybe 50 times, I'm going to need maybe a thousand. No, no one's offering that money and no one wants a slap. That's like the two worst options. I'm just saying I don't want to damage my retina for $200. Well, I would think about poking my eye for $1,000. I mean, I would think about
Starting point is 00:06:22 removing it for $10,000. Could you give yourself a black eye with one punch? Yes. Okay, just has got to be a good one I mean you've just got to nail yourself And it's not so much the eye It's the cheek Yeah You can't do that No, I couldn't do it
Starting point is 00:06:35 All right Let me know Times you get tough I mean you couldn't punch yourself So hard You break the eye socket That'd be bad And you can't do anything about that
Starting point is 00:06:42 You just let it heal By the way this show This one's not heard on the radio today This is just us right now Chopin it up That's how we do As they say Any tea you guys like to spill
Starting point is 00:06:50 Today Tea Is that gossip Yes Yeah tea Yeah, yeah. So we got... Anything new on Miranda?
Starting point is 00:06:59 Friday. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday is the day that the girl comes. We're not talking about that yet. No, we're not. No, the update's Monday. Well, I know. I'm spilling tea. You asked if I have any tea to spill.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Not my tea. Yeah, your own tea. Oh, okay. Or like tea of... Can't say anything in this room without the mic's on without it going out. Yeah. You know what I mean? I got that.
Starting point is 00:07:25 Emoji We got that Emoji love Whoa Well I guess what Just chop it here Because I gotta go and suck in one of those Hot face things
Starting point is 00:07:45 That have two stand-up shows And I got to do them Hot face thing You put it on your mouth And you go Like a vape A rub Yeah
Starting point is 00:07:51 I gotta go vape That's what I call it Gotta go vape Hey Gator was walking down The hallway Our program director Yeah Singing emoji Love
Starting point is 00:07:59 Was he Yeah He said it's stuck in his head How cool is that We got that Emmoji love Playing that, like on the radio station Well, if it's the number one hit, everybody has to play it
Starting point is 00:08:17 Oh, everywhere across the country I mean, it's how songs work Come on, dude, we're going for ads today Dude, how cool would that be? Do we have to do radio tour and stuff like that? Probably, we have to go play all these shows for free We just... You go into pizza parties with people
Starting point is 00:08:28 We go into conference rooms of our competing stations To play the song You're like, hey guys, I'm Eddie, this is Bobby We know who you are We're going to like our other station in St. Louis They hate us for our morning show But they're like, well, the band's actually okay So we go in, it's like them and seven listeners.
Starting point is 00:08:43 Hey, have we ever thought about going overseas? Yeah. Oh, USSO? No. That'd be cool too. First of all, you're mixing up the USSR and the USO tour. Yeah, USO. Two very different things.
Starting point is 00:08:57 USO tour, that would be so cool. Yeah, we have, but our off time, never, one, intersects at the same time when we've been offered. And two, you have to go for a long time. and we can never get off the show that much. But they usually team you up with like an actress or another celebrity. Dude, what did they hook you up? Well, they teamed us up with like Kate Beckinsale. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:20 And that's how you meet her. I'm gonna go. I would shut the show down for a week for that. I've been, I'm not gonna say, don't say what it is, Amy. Could you, you can't say if you have diarrhea out. Spill the tea, Amy. Don't spill too much tea here. Okay, you got to stop that too.
Starting point is 00:09:35 What? And it's okr, not okay. I agree Okay, what is it? There's a show that wants me to come do the show And I may have to hop away for a couple days Remember I told you about it? You have to say anything
Starting point is 00:09:54 Okay, and then it was like, you have to You have to, okay, yeah I can say that A show that wants you do the show I would like to say he has to Like, I don't know what, because obviously radio is his My main, my love, my passion.
Starting point is 00:10:07 Main squeeze. So you would have, but I feel like we would, we being us on the show and our listeners, would sacrifice Bobby for this. We could, we would give him up for a few days. A radio show? He has. No, it's not a radio show. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:23 It's a show that I'm going to go away and do for a bit. Away. It rhymes with real pearled. Oh, really? No, it does not. No, it does not. That's not funny. All right, we're going to go.
Starting point is 00:10:34 We have nothing interesting to talk about. Yeah. Wait, I got something. This weekend, I want to watch one of the Oscar movies. One of them. Yeah, if I had to pick Stars Born, Bohemian Rhapsody, and that Netflix one. Well, there are benefits of two of them. Well, here's all your selling points.
Starting point is 00:10:52 What's the Netflix one called? Roma. Roma. That one's free. I like that. Zero dollars it costs to go watch that movie because you already have a Netflix subscription. A Star is born is what everybody's going to be talking about. Probably the best as well.
Starting point is 00:11:07 and it's music, you'll like the music. You'll like the fact that Bradley Cooper learned how to play guitar and sing for this movie. Yeah. And you'll see some of the places we've played before. He plays them as part of the movie. Oh, yeah. Festivals. Stagecoach. Yeah. Um, what's the other one?
Starting point is 00:11:21 Bohemian Rhapsody. Yeah, you should say it just so you can complain about it. It's good. Some people really liked it. But listen, I'm a music snob. And I feel like they jumped through that Queen's story pretty quick. But it's a pretty good movie if you're not a music snob. Well, I was talking to someone. They said it's pretty amazing that,
Starting point is 00:11:37 Live Aid performance at the very end. You know, the one that everyone knows he's wearing the white pants. The white, white, yeah. White beater. Yeah. And so they said that the way they did in the movie is so cool because it's identical to their performance on in real life. That Rami Malik is pretty good. Sometimes it looks like a character of Freddie Mercury, but it's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:11:57 Did he sing his parts? There's a guy that actually sang for him and I watched a whole love it. See, I knew you would know this. Yeah, I watched a whole special, like a little five-minute clip special of him and he sounds just like Freddie Mercury. But it's not Rami or whatever his name is. Because that guy did it for Johnny Cash. What's his name, Joaquin Phoenix. He did sing.
Starting point is 00:12:16 It's always impressive when they do that. It's good to know that he didn't. Yeah, I guess it's freaking Freddie Mercury had such a distinct, difficult voice. Where Johnny Cashers was pretty distinct, but I don't know if it was like vocally. Impossible to. Yeah, it's vocally impossible to recreate. Yeah. So I would watch a star in order to watch a star is born.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Got it on my list. And then I would watch Freddie Mercury. Oh, okay. And then I'll watch Roma. No, I'm going to watch Green Book. I don't know how to get that. Is that available? Is that on Instagram TV?
Starting point is 00:12:47 No, it's on Apple. Oh, is it on Apple? I saw it on Apple. I saw it on Amazon, you can buy it. I don't even know what that is. Oh, so I can do Amazon or Apple. You got to buy it for more. And Black Klansmen, you can rent on Amazon also.
Starting point is 00:12:59 Okay. That's good, right? You said, oh, black, yes. That's Apple, too. I have that one. So I think they're all pretty much available now. So I'm trying to do those three. You can watch all three of them? With this
Starting point is 00:13:10 weekend it's like raining. I want to watch Creed too. Oh yes, I do want to see that. Oh, I want to see that too. And that kid is in Friday Night Lights. Michael B. Jordan is, he's a good actor. Like that dude's going to be like a superstar, right? Is he already a superstar? Now he is, yeah. So he was in Friday Night Lights which is what I'm watching right now. He's the star. He's the star. Although he's not the good
Starting point is 00:13:30 guy, he's the star of Black Panther. Well, that's why I think he's amazing. Like when he plays a good guy, you're like, gosh, I love this guy. He's so good. Like he makes me feel what he's feeling. Did you watch him in parenthood? Yes, in parenthood as well. And when he's in Black Panther, you're like, God, I hate this guy. Yeah, he's good.
Starting point is 00:13:44 If they can make you feel all those feelings in one person make you feel good and bad about him, it's a good actor. Wow, I have so many movies to watch this weekend. But are you going to do them? What about your kids? You know you have kids now, right? Throw them in the living room.
Starting point is 00:13:57 They can watch kid movies. All right. They can watch, can they watch Creed? I've seen it. I think they could. But can they listen to Creed? If they're like watching fighting. Ask someone that does have kids
Starting point is 00:14:09 and the kids can watch them. I mean, there's not like bad words in it. It's just they're fighting. So if it's okay. Boxing. I would love it if my son wants to the box a little. I wouldn't. No shots to the head.
Starting point is 00:14:22 No, not boxing like that. But boxing like you do. That's what that lead. Like what you do. Nobody wants to learn how to box and do what I do. Train. Yeah, but if he watches that movie, I can get him to do what you do.
Starting point is 00:14:34 He's not going to, he doesn't really know the difference. But that's exercise, Amy. I need my son to work out and exercise. Yeah, but it needs to be fun. It can't be like push-ups and sit-ups. You think push-ups are fun. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:45 If they don't, you can't let them watch Creed, put on Creed greatest hits. Oh, yeah. I just heard. The News Today. They actually might really like Creed. Yeah, of course, because they're awesome. They love slow stuff.
Starting point is 00:15:00 Yeah, and Creed's awesome. And screw everybody. Nickelback's good, too. Oh, my goodness. And you know who the new Nickelback is now? Who? Imagine dragons. Really?
Starting point is 00:15:09 Come on, please. No, I would not put them in the same category. I'm telling you, that's, everybody is hating on a magic dragon now. Why do they hate on, I don't, I don't. Yeah, I haven't heard any hate on Imagine Dragons. Yeah. Because you guys aren't there yet. What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:15:22 We're not hating them yet? Let me go to Mike D. My D. Do you feel like everybody's hating on a magic dragon? Yeah, the lead singer from Slipknot was in an interview talking about it. Okay, who's Slipknot? Like, dude, that was so long ago. But again, it's culture.
Starting point is 00:15:33 They're already going, they're big, their songs are garbage. They're a bunch of meatheads. Who cares? But yes, I like Imagine Dragons. Yeah, I do too. I'm saying they're the new Nickelback. I like Nickelback. They become super successful.
Starting point is 00:15:44 All the cool people go, that's stupid. They don't understand their massive success. This is in no way a slight toward Imagine Dragons for me. Never made it as a wise man. Tanda. That's a good song. That's a good song. Yeah, they have a lot of good songs.
Starting point is 00:15:59 I was like, I still L.O.L. at his outfit at the Iheart festival when he came out and basically like his running outfit. That's what he plays in. I know. It's amazing. Yeah. Like he's just,
Starting point is 00:16:10 they're cool. They're very unique. They have a unique vibe. But my point is people in the cool community are trading them like nickelback now. Famous, big hits, straightforward, nothing artistically liberating. Oh. Wow. I know.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Wow. All right. Good. Mike D. Yeah. You like them? Not really. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:32 See? Oh, you know. Oh, you're a hand on them. Dragons. Oh, my good. I don't think that's like rock music when I think of it. Well, I don't, are they in the rock category? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:40 That's why people don't like them because they're like, oh, this is the new rock. They're a rock band. They're a rock band. What are you talking? Whatever. They have a whole band. Have you ever seen them? Are you stupid?
Starting point is 00:16:51 No. You never seen them? It's a band. I've never seen them. They're a band. I thought just the guy comes out. No. That would be a magic in drag in.
Starting point is 00:16:58 You're thinking of Panic at the disco. No, he knows Panic at the Disco. Oh, he likes them. I've seen them. Yeah, I like them. Are they a rock band? You have no point. Imagine Dragons are more of a...
Starting point is 00:17:09 Well, Panic of the Disgles one guy with his buddies, right? Is that what, is that right? Is he panicked? He's the guy. It's him, right? It's like, who's the guy that has two of them,
Starting point is 00:17:21 five for fighting is a guy. Oh, yeah. It's one guy. Superman, is that? What song is that? I'm 15 years for a moment. See that? That was laughable to me.
Starting point is 00:17:32 That was good. Five for fighting is good. Oh, God. And there's another one. Who's got the band name? and the joke is... A passenger? No, that too.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Bands was actually kind of one person. Say anything? No. It's like, the joke was what has 60 legs and one pubic hair the line to a blank concert, but I can't think of who it was. Oh, gosh, who are you thinking about?
Starting point is 00:17:54 Oh, I know. You know, Lexbox? Snow Patrol. No, that's a band. Huh. I can't think of who you're talking about. Spider-Man soundtrack? Dashboard Confession.
Starting point is 00:18:06 That's it. that's a band? Yeah, but it's really one dude. Yeah, Chris is the guy that kind of looks like, Freddie Prince, that's it. It's like what has, you know, 30 legs and one pubic hair, the line to a dashboard, a professional concert. Oh, gosh, because they're all kids.
Starting point is 00:18:23 They're all kids. But yeah, it's like one dude. He has a band with them. Amy's perplexed right out. No, I want to, there was a dashboard song that I really liked in college. Yeah, a lot of them. Yeah, I like Dashboard. I don't even call them Dashboard Confession, I don't even call them Dashboard.
Starting point is 00:18:36 I saw it a couple years ago. That's the video of your wheelhouse, go away. It's a little too poppy for Mike's wheelhouse. It's kind of in your wheelhouse. And they were big when you were young. Yeah. I guess before they got big, he got big. It was in your wheelhouse.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Now they're too cool for you, I feel. But what do I know? Vindicated, I lost. I have to sing tonight. Yeah, stop. No, not that with all my voice crap. I got to play emoji love tonight for the first time. Are you ready?
Starting point is 00:19:04 Yeah, I tried to FaceTime me last night. So we can practice? Is that what it was? But I had my guitar and I was like, hey, Eddie, play this. I'll learn how to play it. I didn't have my phone, I'm sorry. Kpo 2. Oh, yeah?
Starting point is 00:19:13 Yeah. Oh, I play it standard. No, play Kpo 2. Oh, boy. I know. So you want it higher? I have to. Okay.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Done? That was music talk, Amy. Sorry. Done. Done. Kpo 2. We got that emoji. I think you see you.
Starting point is 00:19:30 See you soon. Here's today's show. By the way. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby bones. Across America This is a Bobby Bones show That's right
Starting point is 00:19:43 Now here he is Turn it up Come by All right back at it Morning Studio Morning Good Friday here Dirk's Bentley's coming in
Starting point is 00:19:49 Hey I did see that There was a couple It was the first time To ever play the lottery And these lottery stories Always resonate with me Because lunchbox is obsessed With the lottery
Starting point is 00:19:58 He plays every two weeks Minimally Takes 100 bucks From his paycheck Every two weeks Puts it right in the lottery Tickets For how long you've been doing that?
Starting point is 00:20:05 Oh 15 years? You've been think he would have hit something, right? After 15 years? No, you would think. Let's just run the math there. Morgan number two, please. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:15 A hundred bucks, twice a month, for 15 years. I can probably run it quick, but I want to get the actual number of what you've spent in just those tickets. And you've never hit more than what? Biggest. $250. That's your biggest after all that. That's my biggest ever. So there's a couple, first time they played it, they hit $110,000 jackpot.
Starting point is 00:20:32 I hate them. First time they ever played. A North Carolina couple, so they bought their first ever lottery ticket. won over $110,000. It was the quick-pick cash-five ticket. So a friend of ours is getting a ticket. We figured we don't know much about it, but we'll get one as well, they said,
Starting point is 00:20:48 we're just messing around. They almost do the ticket away, but they didn't even check the numbers. They were like, that was fun. My hand was literally over the trash can, but then I decided I should probably check it. The ticket matched all five numbers, $110,000.
Starting point is 00:21:01 They said they feel like the luckiest people alive. First time they ever played. Yeah, see, I don't understand why this can't happen to me. and what I'm doing wrong. I don't think you're doing anything wrong except just playing it a lot and expecting to win. Because you expect to win the lottery. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:21:14 When you go to buy a ticket, you expect to win. You're not going, oh, I hope to win. You have to go in with a positive attitude. So $100 twice a month every month for roughly 15 years. And this is minimally. Minimal. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:29 I mean, there's other times in there. I'll just grab a scratch off here or there. Or we do these big group ones where you invest a little more because it's worth a billion. Even if, it even went back in the day when you were struggling, like you were working at Sam's Club or Costco?
Starting point is 00:21:43 Costco. While doing the show, you were still buying 100 bucks in tickets. Morgan number two, drum rolls up. How much money has lunchbox spent over the course of the last 15 years on lottery tickets? $36,000. Not bad.
Starting point is 00:21:54 It's a good investment. Did you just say not bad? It's not an investment. You're getting nothing back. That didn't hurt you a little bit? Like, oh my gosh, I could have $36,000 in the bank. It takes one big hit, and guess what? That $36,000? $1,000, chump change.
Starting point is 00:22:07 But again, you haven't had a big hit, and there's no chance you get any money back from that money you're in. Like, all that's dead money. No, no, no. Yeah, all that money is dead money. No. You have to play the game to have a chance to win. So in two years, if I hit a million dollars, guess what? That $36,000, great investment.
Starting point is 00:22:27 Okay, well, not really, but it has nothing to do with your future plays. That $36,000 has nothing to your future play at all. Yeah, because I don't know. don't understand you. You could have not played any of that and played the one where you win. Yeah. Yeah, but if I wouldn't have played that, I wouldn't have known. I maybe would have won that.
Starting point is 00:22:43 The Bobby Bones Show. Big, great stories. Our producer, Raimundo, is in the glass room with a stack of news. Raymundo, what you got? Yeah, officials are saying get your taxes done early for a speedy return if you're getting money back. Don't wait until the last second. There's going to be delays if you do that. In other news, because Zion Williamson got hurt and tore through his Nike tennis shoes,
Starting point is 00:23:03 Nike stock dropped a lot yesterday. Yesterday. Officials said that Nike will recover from this, though. And finally in-airline news, not a lot of delays being reported today. Also, no major lines at TSA. So that's awesome news. Hey, out now for stream and download is a new raging idiot's song called Emogy Love. Have you heard it yet, the whole song? I don't know that I've heard the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:23:26 We got that emoji love, whoa. You've heard this part, right? Yes. Yes. I'm in turn. So many love songs about whiskey. We're like, we don't write a song about whiskey. There's enough whiskey songs.
Starting point is 00:23:41 We don't even drink whiskey. Yeah, we want to write a song about how people are showing love now. So this is, I think it's the only song I've ever had to play on the show, and Eddie and I wrote it that I was like, actually, like, I get proud of it. It's good. It's two minutes long. That's it. You want to hear it?
Starting point is 00:23:55 Yeah. All right. Here we go. This is emoji love from The Raging Idiots. Real life right here. Here you go. Hey, I'll send you a K. I'll send you the big egg.
Starting point is 00:24:20 We got that e-mo. We got that emoji. Brand new song from The Raging Idiots. Yes. That was awesome. Thank you very much. Big hit, we hope. We got that.
Starting point is 00:25:52 We got that emoji love. We're going to be playing that at our IHart Country Festival going on. It's a big single we're playing. First time in the show. Now, I guess we'll play in Boston first to get it warm. Right, right. Yeah, we're playing Boston on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th. March 17th, right?
Starting point is 00:26:05 Yeah. Yeah. There are only a few tickets left at Raging Idiots.com. What you think? emoji love? I like it. I'm into it. Can you sing it back?
Starting point is 00:26:13 We got that emoji love. Whoa. Emoji love. Got it. She's got it. And when you get with someone new, I'm going to send you the poo. Close enough. There it is.
Starting point is 00:26:24 There is. Good, good, good, good. Stupid joke. Yeah, it says that out of there, too. Wow. She already goes the whole song. She's good. Dang.
Starting point is 00:26:32 Well, that's the new one. You can download it. The Bobby Bone Show. Ashley in New Hampshire. How are you? I'm good, how are you? I'm really good. Thank you for calling.
Starting point is 00:26:41 What do you want to know? I just want to say that I appreciate you guys so much. I listen to you every morning. And if I miss you, excuse me, I listen to the podcast on my way home. Oh, come on. Thank you for everything you guys too. Thank you. You know what we do too?
Starting point is 00:26:57 We finish the show and we do extra. So if you are listening right now, you may miss later on in the show. Go search Bobby Bone show wherever you listen to your podcasts. And even if you heard the whole show, there's even more most of the time. beginning of the show. It's called the post-show pre-show. So, I love it. Any more I can get, I'll take it. Hey, we'll take that. Thank you very much, Ashley. Appreciate that. Have a good morning.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Yeah. Yeah, see you later. I got a couple, like, cop stories for you. Ready? Yeah. Story number one, a DNA napkin in a cold case is what ended up catching. They got 26 years later. Whoa. Yeah, in Minneapolis, the stabbing of a gun unsawed for 26 years, right? She'd get stabbed. Nobody knew.
Starting point is 00:27:36 so they reopened it two years ago they uploaded some DNA from the scene into one of those genealogy websites and cops watched this suspect and they caught a break when he threw the napkin in the trash can and they went and got the napkin out and it matched the DNA
Starting point is 00:27:52 That's crazy Yeah Isn't that crazy? Yeah, good for them too Now he denies knowing her or having any kind of relations with anyone in Minneapolis during that time Either way he posted a bond
Starting point is 00:28:02 He was back in court March 13th Oh But he was one of the suspects and they got his napkin to throw it in the trash and they got him. Wow. Here's one not so heavy. A guy in Tulsa stole a Pepsi truck from a mall parking lot because he wanted to get to the airport to stop his girlfriend from leaving him.
Starting point is 00:28:19 He needed a ride. Oh, he was desperate. The delivery guy was still in the truck. Oh, no. So, wait, was he like in the back unloading? Well, he had to jump out. Oh, my. Yeah, and here's the cop.
Starting point is 00:28:31 Evidently, the Pepsi folks were delivering some soda pop. and while one of them was in the back meant he felt the truck take off and he ended up jumping out of the back and he took off he was just slinging soda pop through every intersection he blazed through it he said he needed to get to the airport and that's why he took the truck
Starting point is 00:28:48 one of the officers I overheard a mask and said man do you know how to drive the semi and he said no I just winged him just figured it out all for love right yeah that's a good love story like right you get together and get married that is funny in five years right not right now because of trouble
Starting point is 00:29:02 and hopefully he didn't crash into any Remember that one time? Marshall Pettyshark for you? Yeah, that's pretty funny, huh? The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan number two's 32nd Spinney. Garth Brooks has been named IHeart Radio's Artist of the Decade. Oh, come on.
Starting point is 00:29:18 Wow. He's going to receive the honor for his impact on the music industry at the 2019 IHartRadio Music Awards, and that show airs on Fox on March 14th. That's cool. Man, I said, let me do that. Present him. I may cry. What's the decade?
Starting point is 00:29:32 This one? Any. Oh. Yeah. Every decade. I think because of that, coming up in the dance party, we'll play a little garth. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:39 All right, what else for you? Morgan number two? Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line and his wife found out they're having a baby boy on TV with the help of Ellen. She pulled out a big red button, hit a big red button, and blue confetti popped out. Oh, that's cool. And they did a commercial break in between two. They're sitting there. It's BK. and Tyler.
Starting point is 00:29:55 And Ellen's like, well, I guess she's pretty much down at all. She pulls out the envelope. She goes, well, I know the result of your baby. And it's like, what? And she's like, and then. You go to commercial and they come back and it's all of them. It's Haley, his wife, Tyler, Ellen, everybody.
Starting point is 00:30:08 Oh, girl. And they're standing around the buzzer and boy. That's awesome. Yeah, that's good. What else? And we got some movies coming out this weekend. Fighting with my family has 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. Anyone know what that is?
Starting point is 00:30:18 Yeah, it's the true story about a girl trying to make it in the WWE. Oh. Oh, yeah. And the Rock's in that preview. I don't know her name. I just know it's based on a true story. Bella twins? No?
Starting point is 00:30:30 Glitter. It's the only one I know. Glow, you mean? Oh, yeah. Yeah. All right, what else? And then it's How to Train Your Dragon, The Hidden World, with 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. There you have it.
Starting point is 00:30:39 All right, good. Is that it? Have you seen How Train Your Dragon one or two? Yeah, they're all really good. I asked Amy on the countdown. She didn't seen them. They're all, the first two are really good. I mean, they got to stop making them.
Starting point is 00:30:47 They like them. Oh, they do? Your kids have seen them? Yes. I thought you'd watch movies with your kids. Not always. You just ship them off? No, I don't shoot them off, but you get them tucked in.
Starting point is 00:30:56 You get them all settled, give them some popcorn. Yeah. You cuddle with them for a minute, and then you're like, bye, going to watch Netflix. And then they come in your room, and then they sit down and they're like, is this for adults or kids? My kids start the movie, and then when I walk out, they pause it. I'm like, let us know when you come back. Great. I got to come back and finish watching it.
Starting point is 00:31:15 Oh, mine don't care. Mine are like. They won't watch it without it. Nope, we'll start again when you come back, Dad. Okay. Yeah, that's cool. How do you think we squeeze in, Bobby, otherwise, how do you think we squeeze in stuff like, you know, Ted Bundy tapes? I thought you'd watch it with them.
Starting point is 00:31:30 But they know when they come in the room of like, we're watching anything, they're like, are we allowed to be in here for this? Because some of that stuff is so dark. Like, I don't want them seeing it. All right. But Morgan number two, is that it? Yep, I'm Morgan number two.
Starting point is 00:31:42 That's the skinny. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. It was Kelly, and she has taken time to put little special notes on customers' receipts. She's only worked at Taco Bell since, like, October. But in those four months, She's handed out hundreds of notes and received feedback.
Starting point is 00:32:01 Like she'll quote people like Mark Twain or she'll just leave a word of encouragement. I'm trying to get a number two. Yeah, one woman going through the drive-thru said the quote she got that day is a quote. Her mom used to always tell her and it just like warmed her heart because she just was getting her bean burrito, thought she'd go on with her day and then she had like a moment. All because Kelly thought that she wanted to do that and she's doing it to. She has a catch register like looking up quotes. It's a lot of work.
Starting point is 00:32:24 And then also what if it's busy? You know, are you trying to get the, you know, the late. latest quote from Samuel Clemens. I think she's able to do it because it's some, you know, customer fillout card. It's not necessarily on the receipt receipt. So it's probably something she can pre-do or maybe works on a little bit beforehand and then sticks it in the sack.
Starting point is 00:32:42 Well, I do love positivity. Don't get me wrong. I do love it. That's what she said. She's just all about going the extra mile to give her customers a good experience. Have you guys worked in the service industry? Around the room. Yes.
Starting point is 00:32:52 So I waited tables for a long time. Mm-hmm. What'd you do? I was a hostess. and then I worked for my dad a little bit to places. When I worked at Hobby Lobby, that's retail. That's not retail. It's retail and that service still, huh? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:05 But I wait at tables a lot. Well, I washed dishes. Then I bust. Then I waited tables. All the same place. Lunchbox? Yeah, I was in the food industry. I worked at Ryan's Steakhouse.
Starting point is 00:33:18 What did you do at Ryan's Steakhouse? I was a waiter. It was a buffet. He really just brought up. Wait, why have I never heard that he was a waiter? He's talking about the buffet. He went for one day, right? I worked two days.
Starting point is 00:33:27 He told the story. Okay. Sorry, I forgot. And then Jason's Deli and Duncan Donuts. Jason's Deli, yeah, you delivered. I was a delivery driver, so that's the service industry. I consider that service. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:38 Yeah, I do, too. And Duncan. Eddie, our video producer? I did not. I feel like that shaped my life working and having to depend on people for rent and car payment. Because, oh, for sure. You just, there's an empathy because you've done it and you know the struggle. there's an obligation to take care of people
Starting point is 00:33:57 who've taken care of you even though it's not the same person but there were many times where I was like, I don't know what I'm going to do someone would randomly give me a $20 tip and I was set for the night. So I think it's a big part of my life was working.
Starting point is 00:34:08 That should be pre-reque for life. You're going to go to a restaurant at some point. You can't even go eat in a restaurant until you work at a restaurant. Yes.
Starting point is 00:34:19 Dang, I can't go to restaurants. Yeah. Eddie? I'm out. Amy, good story. Lobby Bones show. Boney Head. Story up to day.
Starting point is 00:34:28 This story comes to us from Dallas, Texas. A group of friends were driving home from a hockey game. They're going across a bridge. Like, ooh, that's a good picture of the skyline. Let's pull over and take a selfie. So an 18-year-old kid gets out and he's like, ooh, not a good angle, not a good angle. Let me climb over the railing. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:34:45 And he fell off the bridge. Bruised both his lungs, collapsed one of the lungs. Water or land? Land. Oh, he lived, had multiple lacerations on his spleen and a broken pelvis. But he's okay. Well, I didn't sound like he's okay, but he's in bad shape, actually. I would have classified that as okay.
Starting point is 00:35:06 Are you doing great? Yeah, well, you know his role for the bonehead as long as they're alive. And the doctor said he doesn't know how he lived. Yeah, wow. But he's all right. He's not good. That's how they did yesterday. It couldn't be better, actually.
Starting point is 00:35:19 All right, thank you, lunchbox. I'm lunchbox. That's your bonehead story of the day. Hey, it's Bobby Bones here. Been talking about this for a while, if you haven't played Best Fiends yet, man, you're missing out. It's like Friends Without the R, Best Fiends.
Starting point is 00:35:31 Best Fiends is the five-star rated puzzle game that has me and millions of people obsessed. Like, go look at the rating of Best Fee's. That's how you know it's a good game. You saw thousands of fun puzzles. You collect tons of characters. We love the game here on the show. Morgan No. 2 loves the game.
Starting point is 00:35:45 I think she plays it every morning before we start playing work, or at least most mornings. If you haven't given it a try, let me just recommend that you try it. You can play Best. Feens with the family, with the friends you love in your life. They're all probably playing it too. If they're not, you can get them on.
Starting point is 00:35:59 Best Feens, it's Friends Without the R. And here's something. The fact that you can play Best Feens without Wi-Fi is pretty awesome, too. It's perfect for flights. It's perfect for long trips. Best Feens is one of those games. You'll keep wanting to play more and more and get to higher levels. America's falling in love with Best Feans, so do yourself a favor and download Best Feens for free from the App Store or Google Play today.
Starting point is 00:36:19 That's Friends Without the R, Best Feens. Come on. Twitter had Admit movies you've never seen as a trending hashtag. Like they're super popular. You should totally have seen them. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:33 We'll go around the room. Admit a movie that everybody's seen that you haven't seen. Okay? Amy, you're up first. Ready. I haven't seen Harry Potter.
Starting point is 00:36:47 And I haven't either, but a lot of people have, and I get a lot of crap for that. But full confession, my kids have, and I've kind of been in the room, but I'm not, that's only because I got kids. Why don't you give it a try?
Starting point is 00:36:57 Nah. Because I, but I can't. I try to give the books a try. My friend bought me the whole, she was so convinced. She took me to Barnes & Noble. She goes, I'm not even going to make you pay for it. I'm going to invest in it because I know you're going to love it. And I bought it and I tried to read it.
Starting point is 00:37:08 And I was like, really? My mom loved them. Like, that's, she loved those Harry Potter books. And I haven't seen the movies either, but I also hadn't seen Game of Thrones. No, no, I sell that. Lord of the Rings. Oh, I've never seen that. They all blend together.
Starting point is 00:37:20 But we don't need to. But I'm like, you're such a hater. Which one's better? Well, I like Game of Thrones. I like Game of Thrones. I like Game of Thrones and it's almost over. But Lord of the Rings is a movie series and a book series. And I watched it. And it was okay.
Starting point is 00:37:33 It was okay. Admit a movie you've never seen. Lunchbox. I've never seen Zoolander. So good. It's good. It's funny. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:41 People quote it all the time, but I've never seen it. Morgan number two, you're 25. Admit a movie you've never seen. The Princess Bride. Oh. It's good. But I don't know. I don't expect you to have seen it.
Starting point is 00:37:53 I don't know if I've seen it. Is that Ann Hathaway? No. Marriage. No, that's funny diaries. Oh. Yeah. Eddie.
Starting point is 00:37:58 I have not seen Avatar. Really? Never saw Avatar. It's terrible. It's terrible. It was like homework for the show. It was the biggest movie of all time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:10 I remember that. I think I fell asleep. And that's why everybody had to go watch it because not just that it'd be good. But did you like it when you watched it? Yeah, it's pretty good. It's fine. It looks weird to me, so I never like. But it's fine.
Starting point is 00:38:21 It was the first time they had done that with the 3D. Oh, like fake people. Yeah, they went in and out. So it was a culture thing more than it was to be good. But yeah, I've never seen the godfather. Any of the godfather. Those are good. I've never seen the, what's the Al Pacino ones?
Starting point is 00:38:38 Scarface. Scarface. Never. Oh, bones. You have to watch Scarface. I've never seen any of that. I think it still holds up. Yeah?
Starting point is 00:38:44 Yeah. Amy, admit a movie you never seen. Do you have any other ones? I'm sure I do. I just need to. I've never seen Frozen. Oh. Ah, you're good.
Starting point is 00:38:51 Oh, yeah? Yeah. I've never seen Castaway. Oh, you'd like Castaway. Oh, that's good. There's like a three-hour scene in Castaway. Not a three-hour. That's a three-hour movie.
Starting point is 00:38:58 There's like an hour in Castaway where he doesn't. There's no talking at all. Yeah, I'd say the first half of the movie. Well, that's when he gets on the island. Oh, you're right. Once he gets on the island, you're right. It's like the longest period in a movie where there's no talking. There's no dialogue?
Starting point is 00:39:10 Nope. There's nobody to talk to. Oh, wow. He's alone. And Avatar 2 comes out December 18th, 2020 if you're getting ready. Yeah, I am. I haven't seen Braveheart. come on.
Starting point is 00:39:22 That's blasphemy. Yeah, I have. You're okay not seeing it. Okay. I've never seen Toy Story. You're good. Oh, really? No, you should see Toy Story.
Starting point is 00:39:31 No, no, no, you're fine. I've never seen Pulp Fiction. Oh, me neither. That's good, bones. Yeah, I mean, that's... It's legendary. Morgan number two, anything else you haven't seen? No, I'm on the same one with you.
Starting point is 00:39:42 I've seen all the movies. I haven't seen Lord of the Rings. That's one I haven't seen. Lord of the Rings. That's the one I saw, right? Yeah. hashtag, admit movies you've never seen. Anybody else want to say?
Starting point is 00:39:51 suggest anything? Lunchbox? That's all I got that I can think off the top of my head. There you have it, folks. Other than that, we've seen them all. We'll see the next one. Well, maybe. Here's Amy's pile of stories. Papa Johns is coming out with a chicken and waffles pizza. Yeah, it's good, huh? Yeah. Sounds really good. Uh-huh. I mean, it seems like some place would have thought of this before now, but they're
Starting point is 00:40:14 on it. And I think that that is a pizza that I would want to try, and it'll come out sometime later this year. I try to, listen, I've been asked a few times. recently, which favorite food, right? That's your kind of food. What is yours? Mexican. Is it?
Starting point is 00:40:27 You know, I think it's where we grew up. If I have to pick a... Yeah, I think it's how we grew up. Genre. You grew up in Texas? Yeah. And mine's always super Southern, because I grew up in Arkansas. Yeah, you love, like, fried chicken.
Starting point is 00:40:37 Fried chicken. Cream corn. Cream cream. Fried meat corn, yeah. My favorite meal is a chicken fried steak with white gravy. Your mom made it for me my birthday when you had anywhere to go, and she was like, I'll cook you a meal. Yeah, it was really special.
Starting point is 00:40:50 chicken fried steak, cream corn, like fried okra. Come on. Legit. Lunch, Buck, what's your favorite kind of food? Mexican food. Yeah. Absolutely love Mexican food. Texas boy.
Starting point is 00:41:01 I'd ask Eddie, but you know. Pizza. And all three of us grew up into. He's Mexican. Oh, I thought yours was Mexican. I was Mexican overload. So you're Italian. No.
Starting point is 00:41:10 Basically. Yeah, you have to categorize it. Just pizza. You can go pizza. I like just pizza. I'm not crazy about spaghetti or lasagna or anything. Oh, okay. Pizza.
Starting point is 00:41:18 Morgan number two, what about you? Italian She calls it I know I know I know It's funny Because Morgan number two
Starting point is 00:41:26 It's from the Midwest He's from Wichita So it's always Like the opposite You know with you guys Yeah Like you live in the area You're white
Starting point is 00:41:36 I'm white Yeah you're really And Eddie's Mexican But he likes I'm Italian Yeah Yeah All right
Starting point is 00:41:41 Thank you Mine doesn't hold true Because I'm in the Salda Amy What else you got Okay So how many of you In here
Starting point is 00:41:46 When you get sick Well Let's eliminate Me and Bobby for the sake of the story. Call your mom. Our moms aren't alive. Emmy goes,
Starting point is 00:41:55 Wamp, mom. You know, I'm just going to take us out because then it's awkward just clear the air. Like, Bobby and I can't play. But when you get sick, as an adult right now, how many of you call your mom?
Starting point is 00:42:05 Not me. Why would you not call your mom? Well, because you're an adult. Yeah, you're an adult. Yeah, but your mom knows what's wrong with you more than anybody else in the world because she's been around sickness and she's been around you
Starting point is 00:42:15 and she knows how to get you better. What about your wife, though, now? But your wife doesn't know as well You haven't been as sick as much around your wife And she doesn't know the ins and outs on how to cure your and how to make you... And your mommy says things and make you feel better. Yeah, your mom knows what to say to make you feel better. Like my favorite lunchbox story or one of them is like a couple years ago when he had...
Starting point is 00:42:33 He broke his ankle or something and his mom gave him sponge baths every day. Yeah, she sure did, didn't she. It was naked. And it wasn't necessary. All he had to do was stick his foot out. He didn't need it. No, no, I did. And guys...
Starting point is 00:42:48 Did you like... Do you enjoy that? You didn't need it! And when you say a couple years ago, it was like six years ago, seven years ago. I am 37 years old. Yeah, so you're 31. Okay, yeah. She was giving him bath.
Starting point is 00:43:00 I had to go under the knife. I had ankle surgery and I could not get it wet or else it could have caused problems, infections. So she helped me because I had to lay in the bathtub and stick my leg out. And so she helped me by giving me a sponge bath. What's the big deal? And you're 30, 31 and completely naked. She's my mother. You know what? Good for you guys.
Starting point is 00:43:19 It's a very loving relationship. Yes. What else, Amy? So a food rider ate all 53 items on Taco Bell's menu to rank them from best to worst. And then I wanted to get everybody's favorite TV item. I love Taco Bell. I love Taco Bell. Yeah. I mean, my mom worked for Taco Bell. So we had a cute card where she got 50% off. So like in high school, we ate Taco Bell all the time. My favorite thing, though, is the traditional. I liked the crunchy taco from Taco Bell.
Starting point is 00:43:48 It just reminds me of college. Yep, it's cheap. And we get a box of them. The meat was so moist. I would, is moist weird to you? I'm talking about meat? Like, did you just cringe at that or no? I don't love the word moist.
Starting point is 00:44:03 Yeah. I loved it. And then, you know what else I used to get was the, here's my order. I'll take four crunchy tacos, a cinnamon twist, and a large amount of dew. Okay, cinnamon twister in his top five. Yeah, that was my order. That would be three bucks. That would be one nickel.
Starting point is 00:44:16 Yeah, right. Especially back in the day. So his top five items. Number five. Cinnamon twists. And number four, nacho cheese, Doritos, Locos, Taco Supreme. Too many words. That's the longest name.
Starting point is 00:44:29 Number three, chicken cassidia. Number two, Mexican pizza. That was my jam. Was it? Whenever I ate meat, when I was in high school, Mexican pizza. Now I would guess I'd go beam burrito. And number one? Soft taco.
Starting point is 00:44:40 Soft taco. Yep, just the original soft taco. I'm just not a soft taco guy. I thought my taco should be crunchy. Yeah. They just call that a soup taco. Soft? Yeah, it cares.
Starting point is 00:44:51 All right, is that it, Amy? That's my pile. There you have it, folks. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. There's a lady driving down the highway in Oklahoma. She loses control of the vehicle, flips over twice, goes into a little pond. Samaritans pull her out of the car, but her three kids are stuck.
Starting point is 00:45:13 in the back seat. Luckily, deputy shows up on the scene, runs over, and he pulls all three children out of the sinking vehicle. You know, I wonder about that if the cop even thinks, right? Because I've said before, I don't have that gene in me to be awesome. It's like, oh,
Starting point is 00:45:29 no thinking, just doing. I'd probably think about it and go, I should probably do it. But by then, it could already be over. Yeah. I wonder, even to be a police officer, you got to have that in you. You don't even think. It's instinctual. Just go, oh, something's going wrong. I just I don't have that in me.
Starting point is 00:45:45 I'm a bit too analytical. I feel like you might. If you were put into it, you would spring into action. I'd probably go, okay, well, if the van is sinking and it's 47 feet away. And I start right now. I'll put up my phone and get to calculate. So, I mean, shout out to this cop, because I doubt even thought about his life. And shout out to a lot of our police officers and our enforcers.
Starting point is 00:46:02 They're not even thinking about themselves. They're just thinking about us. So there you go. That's a good one, lunchbox. Thank you. That's what it's all about right there. Tell me something good. That was Tell Me Something Good.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Folks, it's your buddy and my... Mr. Bobby Bones. I'm being told Dirk Spenley is in the building. True? True. Coming in a minute, Dirk Spenley. We're talking about being a pilot. I know we have a little bit, but...
Starting point is 00:46:34 There was that picture of him and John Party, and he's flying John Party. Yeah. Like, Dirk's his whole life hasn't been that of being a pilot. He's a trained musician, right? No, I feel like when he posts that stuff, you're like, okay, this is real. Like, he flies himself, he's flying his tourmates. He's flying. Scary.
Starting point is 00:46:49 Derek Spendley in in just a minute Over to Amy right now though As we get that corny The morning corny Why can't you hear a teradactyl go to the bathroom Why can't you hear a teradactyl go to the bathroom? Because the Pterodactyl It's spelled with a Pterodactal
Starting point is 00:47:11 It's spelled with a Pha. But if I did that it gets funny Yeah DECD get us What? I didn't know it was spelled that way I bet you hit you with the paternalia You did.
Starting point is 00:47:21 Yeah, thanks. I said, I'll get you back. That was the morning corny. Some of my jokes require thoughts. Yeah, absolutely. The Friday morning conversation with. There he is. Look at this guy coming.
Starting point is 00:47:34 Taking his jacket off. You looked pretty good. I'd seen you a bit. What's going on? How you been? Put your headphones on over there. Seeking here. Most intimidating room in all of Nashville?
Starting point is 00:47:41 This room is not intimidating. What? It's so intimidating. Oh, my gosh. Or warm, kind, and friendly. Yeah. Or it's like, well, you guys, you're all such good friends, and you're all so close, and someone walks in the room that's a scound.
Starting point is 00:47:51 kind of on the outskirt. You know, not really inside the full circle, just kind of like, you know, peripheral. But if any artist is... But no artist is. But if anyone kind of is, I would say you're as close to being in the circle. Still nervous.
Starting point is 00:48:04 Yeah. Still intimidated. Well, it's good to see you. I haven't... Because you do. I didn't hear from you for like two months. Sorry. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:11 What happened? I don't know. You disappeared, but this is what happened. I was on my flip phone. Sorry. Did you switch over? Did you switch back? I'm on the flip phone right now.
Starting point is 00:48:20 I'm not on, you know, Instagram. Boy, you better get on Instagram. You got a lot going on. There's nothing going on. There's nothing. There's nothing. You still got that six-pack going on in there?
Starting point is 00:48:27 I saw some video. There's no six-pack. Oh, my God. That's what he misses. I see what I missed? If I text you, what phone does it go to? And it's ripped up his new body. If I text you, what phone does it go to?
Starting point is 00:48:40 It goes to my iPhone. Okay. So I don't even have the main phone anymore. You're going to have it right now. What's your number? No, no. All I know is like... 615.
Starting point is 00:48:47 Wow. So you don't have them seat up. So they're not even the same. If you called that phone, it goes to this phone. Oh, so yeah. You're in. Let me just, let me see about that. Well, I have to get...
Starting point is 00:48:55 No, no, no, no. Let's just see. This is a new phone, so it's not set up in the phone. No, no, no, no. It will. It normally does. Did we catch someone in a bit of them? No, no, no, it normally does.
Starting point is 00:49:07 Wow. This one's not doing that. Let's see. Oh, my God. Can me show he's on my contact list here. Let's see if it rings. It normally does. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:49:19 I have not... I had no coffee. Wow. I'm like just trying to catch up here. That's what we're thinking about getting my daughter, yeah. All right. Well, listen. Your new song is my favorite song on the record.
Starting point is 00:49:28 Thank you. Yeah. I remember telling you that. Some days you just get back. When it first came out. Was this on the fringe of making the record? No, that was definitely like the, I feel like this song's kind of the cornerstone to the whole record. The whole reason of the record.
Starting point is 00:49:45 Yeah, the idea of living and goes back to the phone a little bit too. with just a lot of like 2017, just on the road, and you hear so many stories from fans and hardships and stuff they're going through, and you're on your phone, you're just away from your family, and I just feel like I wasn't doing any, like, real living. I mean, there's a whole days that go by.
Starting point is 00:50:03 The band and I just would never even leave the bus. You give all your, you know, all your energy goes to the show, and the show always crushes, but the rest of the day, it's like, this is my life, too. I'm, like, blowing through weekends and not doing anything. So this whole idea of, like, trying to be more alive on the road, not just struggling all the time. It was born.
Starting point is 00:50:20 So, yeah, it became a, it's not just a song. It's kind of like a mantra for me and everyone in the band and crew to live as much as possible when we can on the road. The Friday morning conversation with Dirk Spentley. There was a picture on your Instagram of John Party asleep in your plane, and you were flying?
Starting point is 00:50:36 I was, yeah. You have another pilot? That's probably he's more rested than I am. I do. You have another pilot with you? Yes. And are you the main pilot or is the other pilot, the main pilot?
Starting point is 00:50:44 He's the main pilot. We switch legs. We fly about the same amount of hour. but he's definitely main pilot. Like he spent his life training to be... Does it worry people that fly with you? I've been flying longer than Austin. The Austin's a lot better pilot than I am.
Starting point is 00:50:56 I think. Like you're a trained musician, singer. You're really fantastic, by the way. You do a good job at that. I'm all right. But when you're out flying a plane, do people worry that... Flying a plane is not like that difficult.
Starting point is 00:51:09 I mean... But isn't it about something that goes wrong? It's not about when it's right, right, right. Exactly. It's just like playing the show. I think anybody could... I think anybody could study for a year and go do my job for, you know, for two or three songs, maybe, maybe two songs. Okay.
Starting point is 00:51:22 And I think the plane, the problem is when someone goes wrong, you lose an engine, there's a fire, there's cabbie, you know, you lose pressurization. Then there's, that's where I'm probably elbowing Austin. Like, hey, dude, you're playing. No one's any. No, I mean, but you study for that stuff. There's, like, training and stuff you do, but it's not like that, it's not that crazy. Do you feel like if an engine went out on your plane, you'd be okay? It has.
Starting point is 00:51:43 Yeah, I've lost an engine before. And you'd be okay. Did you have two? You had two, yeah. Okay. Yeah. So, only won't. Did you freak out?
Starting point is 00:51:50 No, it was a really, it was, we were flying to New York, and we were just, I just left Nashville, and there's really weird sound. It's kind of like that Bose, like, theater sound, was in our headsets. It was the sound, we knew the ones that were heard before on a plane. We looked at each other like, that was really weird. And then went away, and I couldn't tell if it was, like, the, was something in the air conditioning unit running in the back? Was there something loose on an exterior, like a wing piece or something,
Starting point is 00:52:12 and making that vibration? Then it happened again, like worse. And then when we started pulling one of the throttles back, we realized that one of the engines had something going on. So we just kind of shut the engine down and landed. We've told you, Amy's husband having to crash a plane into the lake, right? No. He calls it a controlled landing. The propeller flew off the airplane.
Starting point is 00:52:28 Oh, my gosh. And it was him and another guy. That's crazy. And he was flying. What is it when you're the captain, right seat? Left seat, yeah. Or left seat? I don't know which one, but he was in charge.
Starting point is 00:52:40 So he kind of tells the other guy, he's like, get that manual on the back, you know, what to do. And they're like, there's nothing in here. for, you know, propeller departure. So he has no propeller, no engine, no nothing. And then he turned into a bird. That's, that's, what shit. And then they had to find a pond and put it down to that pond. He went to air traffic control and was asking for the nearest, like, road, like, nothing looked good.
Starting point is 00:53:00 So his only option was trees or water. Oh, my gosh. And they did a couple of loops around before they decided. They even went past this lake the first time. And he was like, no, we're not going there. I just don't want to go there because he didn't know, like, swamp. Like, what's underneath that water? They don't know.
Starting point is 00:53:14 So then he thought about, okay, if I land in a tree, okay, the odds are good, but you have to crash twice because you land in the tree and then you fall. So then they went back around and he was like, okay, there's that pond again. He's like, so they called in a May Day. Yeah. Good for him.
Starting point is 00:53:28 He landed smooth as butter. He's like the guy, the Hudson guy. Yeah, the Coddars had to come save him. That's crazy. Yeah, so he said the scariest part, Black Hawk, so where he landed, like they said no humans have really ever been. So the Black Hawk helicopters had to come. and he used, like, his cell phone to, like, show them with the sun, like, where he was.
Starting point is 00:53:49 And then they threw down a rope. And he said riding on the helicopter was, like, the scary part. Your flip phone will not do that. I don't know. Yeah, so. That is crazy. He's like, that's a real pilot. The Friday morning conversation with.
Starting point is 00:54:04 Dirk's Bentley. Let me play this for you, Dirk's. It's you on the Elvis show. Elvis. Tell me that it's nice So when you're all this or no? Yeah, I do. I haven't heard of yet.
Starting point is 00:54:22 Sounds pretty good. Yeah, that's not good. That's cool. Great band, man. You don't watch your TV appearances? My mom is documenting them all for me so when we're down the road I can go back and watch every time I've been
Starting point is 00:54:38 on one of the countdowns. I mean, my mom records the countdowns every week. If there's a major, like, CMA Fest on ABC, and you're playing. You won't go and watch it? No, but I will have done, I probably will have watched it somewhere along the way to make sure it's like it's worth, you know, there's nothing to fix. But no, I'm not going to watch it. Yeah, like, game tape.
Starting point is 00:54:56 I watch Game tape on the road and I'm cringing. I'm just like, you know, watch like us playing on the road. I'm like, oh, stop talking. Just, like, what are you doing? Like, just sing. What do you? Like, I start yelling at myself on the, on the iPad when we're all watching, like, the live show. But I can't stand.
Starting point is 00:55:11 No, I'm not going to watch myself. Tonight you're playing Bridgetone in Nashville? Yeah. Big Nashville show? Yeah. How's that feel? It's going to be awesome. Last time you were sick as a dog.
Starting point is 00:55:19 I know. I was just talking, we were just talking before I walked on here about when I played two years ago, I was doing this whole cold plunge, Wimhoff breathing thing. And I kind of like, I was, I used to, it's a long story, but I basically like induce my own sickness. Because I was like, it's like this heavy kind of like, well, it's the weird thing to talk about. It was like a breathing thing, you know? And you do something when you're getting in a cold plunge, you're like trying to stay in this cold water for a certain amount of time. you kind of breathe their way through.
Starting point is 00:55:46 You're bringing warm air and kind of keep your core temperature up. And I did it so much and I was breathing so much I kind of dried my throat out. So then I got to Nashville, I was like, what is going on? I was like, oh,
Starting point is 00:55:56 what I was doing there in Cincinnati like just totally dried my throat out. So I had a full hillbilly pharmacy on stage up there with me. Every type of like alcohol you could possibly imagine, hot tea. You had all the stuff plugged into your body too before the show.
Starting point is 00:56:07 You had the IVs. Yeah, I totally screwed myself in that show. So I'm looking forward to, I mean, it ended up being a great show. My voice worked, but it wasn't an operative. experience overall. So looking forward to this year to getting their crack at it. But it was
Starting point is 00:56:20 pretty special. This year is awesome. You're just a second time doing it around so you're better like planning friends, guests and backstage experiences and whatnot. So excited about that. Yeah, it'll be a lot of fun. Here is the song. A new single living. What number single is this from the record? This is the third one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:44 So are you thinking about making some new music? now or what? I'm really enjoying a small, narrow window of time where you don't have to think about that I think I'll start
Starting point is 00:56:50 in the... Forgive the question. No, no, but you know, I mean they get the little time where you've made an album and you're on tour and it's like,
Starting point is 00:56:56 wow, I don't have to like do six things at once I can just enjoy like fully being where I am right now. Just living. You're just living. I'm living.
Starting point is 00:57:03 I'm living. I'm living. I'm living. There it is. Our friend, Dirk's Bentley. Some days you're just to live. Some days you're living. Chew.
Starting point is 00:57:14 Yeah, man. Nominations. Oh my gosh, it's so funny. The juxtaposition, as Amy would tell you, between, like, one world and the other, you know, here I'm, like, sleep with my son's, like, a little tiny bed last night because I'm, I got kicked out of my bed from the dog. I'm like, you know, it's just home life versus the other life. It's pretty funny. I'm not a great. I'm a huge star.
Starting point is 00:57:37 You're a huge star. Huge star. Dude star, Derek Bentley is here. Good to see you, my friend. Good to see you guys, too. Thank you. As always. And we'll see you next time you come around.
Starting point is 00:57:44 Thank you so much. Right, there is. Dark Smiley, everybody. This story's crazy to me. The guy accidentally texted a stranger, and then he left his wife for her after he actually texted her. How about that? Like, what are the odds, first of all, that it's a number? They fell in love? And that it's so, yeah. What? Yeah. Back in 2003, a guy texted a stranger.
Starting point is 00:58:07 They're like, huh, I'll start chatting a little bit. They both wound up leaving their spouses for each other. They're still together. They're a perfect match. Now, when you look at the final product, do you go, oh, good for them? I mean, I don't know. I don't know what their relationship was like inside their marriage. I mean, I don't know. He says he just bought a new phone.
Starting point is 00:58:28 And so when he was typing in his wife's number, this is before it all transferred over super quick. He typed in a wrong digit. Whoa. Now, is this life stepping in going, whoa. Yeah. Like, um, fate. Fates. Right.
Starting point is 00:58:42 Because then again, if they're happier, and this is how they met. What's wrong with it? Yeah. What if his wife had, like, the day before been like, I hate you. We don't know the story, but it's a good story. The good story. After 13 years together, they got married.
Starting point is 00:59:00 Peter is 46. Mary, his wife, is 60. Wait, what? He texted a 60-year-old and they got married? It was 13 years ago, so she was 47. Oh, that's better. And he was 33. That's crazy then.
Starting point is 00:59:15 Hate her. Hater? I'm that an age hater? A little bit. You yelled at. No, no. I... No, I exclaimed. Well, I thought that story was pretty crazy. You should start texting random numbers, yeah. Hey. Okay, let me do it. I'll do it right now. I'll text
Starting point is 00:59:30 a random number. Just whatever number. You know, I slid in the Cape Beck and sells DMs. I told you guys that. She didn't text me back, or DM me back on Instagram. Yet... Still time. Send her another one just to get to the top. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:44 That old one's probably buried down. Good point, Eddie. I mean, you got to keep DM. I'll text the number during the break. Okay. Wait, we got to give you a number. It's random, whatever. Yeah, it's a random number.
Starting point is 00:59:52 Okay, that we'd come up with it. 9-1-1. The list of hottest male celebs is out. Here you go, the top 10. Tell me how you feel about this. Okay. Number 10. Let me get that drum roll, please.
Starting point is 01:00:05 Thank you. Johnny Depp. Really? I know. He seems dirty a little bit. Age 55. But maybe that's because I see him as a pirate. Brad Pitt, number nine.
Starting point is 01:00:19 Yeah. Age 55. Ian Summerholder at number eight. I need to Google. You're the guy from 90210? I don't think so. Who's that? That's Ian.
Starting point is 01:00:32 That's another Ian. Okay, fine. Yeah, sure. Number seven, Liam Hemsworth. Ding. Oh, yeah, we like him? Is that Miley's? Liam?
Starting point is 01:00:43 Yeah, Miley. And then his brother's Thor. Number six. Chris Evans Ding, when he's a superhero Morgan number two Sugarheaded that one from over there Number five, James Franco
Starting point is 01:00:56 I mean Morgan number two I agree She says yes Look at her What didn't I see him I need to Google this before I say something
Starting point is 01:01:06 Bad about him Hold on Go ahead Oh he got in trouble for it Yeah like texting girls I don't know who he was texting I thought that was like a movie promotion Oh I thought it was like
Starting point is 01:01:15 Teenager I don't know Oh, you guys... You, I would be like, I'm sorry, if you want me to promote the movie this way, I'm going to go ahead and bow out because that's underage. Hottest men, number four, lunchbox. Yeah. I'm just kidding. No, it's a joke.
Starting point is 01:01:31 It's a joke. Amy thought I was being serious. Guys, ladies, where were you guys with the dings? Okay. Number four, Jensen Ackles from Supernatural. Don't even know the show. I'm sure he's good looking. Um, yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:43 Yes, okay. Number three, Channing Tatum. Ding. Ding. That was quick. Dang, dang. Amy won't stop doing it. Relax, Amy.
Starting point is 01:01:51 Number two, Chris Hemsworth. And number one, Zach Ephron. Ding, and he's old enough now. I used to feel weird. He's 31. I know, but when he was in high school musical, I know he was like, his age was different, but he was playing a high schooler, so always felt weird to think that he was cute. But now he's Ted Bundy, so he's old enough. I'm getting text saying you age-hated, which you did.
Starting point is 01:02:15 I did? Yeah. I'm sorry. Caitlin in Wisconsin. How are you? Good. How are you? Really good. I got a little wintertime cold or something that's been setting in. How do I sound? Do I sound okay? You sound great.
Starting point is 01:02:27 Oh, hey. Thank you. Well, what can I do for you? Looking for your emoji song on iTunes and I don't see it. I know. You know what happened? I thought it would be up. It's not up. What? I don't think I pushed the right button last night to upload it. It's on YouTube. It's on YouTube. It's on Facebook. And it's on like Facebook, but we didn't upload it to like the Apple, Spotify's. I don't know if I can get it tomorrow, but I can play, it's on YouTube,
Starting point is 01:02:52 I can play it right now. I know. In perfect raging idiots fashion, we screwed up. Yep, that's what we do. I did. It's okay. I just uploaded emojis without the song.
Starting point is 01:03:01 No one's perfect bones. Do you like the song? I do, I love it. I hope to play it tonight. We're coming to see ya. In Iowa, listen, I'm supposed to fly to Iowa today and do two stand-up comedy shows? One tonight, one tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:03:12 Is it a blizzard there? There is not. Not yet. It's coming tonight and tomorrow. Well, I don't like that. What should I do? Should I still come or no? Oh, for sure.
Starting point is 01:03:25 We're coming, so you better be there. But I got to fly. Have you ever seen the Richie Valens, you know, La Bamba? Ricky. Richie. Oh. Richie. Caitlin, I will be there.
Starting point is 01:03:37 You coming from Wisconsin? Yes, we are. See, I have to go. Yeah, you have to go. The people are there. I have to go. I know. Okay, I'll see you tonight.
Starting point is 01:03:46 Here, I'll play the, emoji song for you now. It's only a minute 51 seconds, okay? Perfect. Sounds great. Thank you. Miss you, me, it. See it tonight. Okay, this is the new song from what? Funny. Missy you mean it. Thank you. Bobby Bones and the raging idiots. It is the emoji love song. We got that
Starting point is 01:04:02 emoji love. If you haven't heard it yet, enjoy. This is about love nowadays. It's not about whiskey. Every song is about whiskey. This is probably the most relatable song we've ever written. If I ever know, I'm going to throw up. We don't drink whiskey. Every state, we don't all the time. Every love song, I'll be about whiskey.
Starting point is 01:04:19 Right. This is about emojis. Thank you. The raging idiots. Check it out on YouTube. Here we go. I send a smile. And if it's your birthday, I'll send you a cake.
Starting point is 01:04:37 And when I'm lonely, I'll send you the big egg plan. We got that. Emoji, love. Whoa, bed. The flashy can't. Awkward. I'll send you the face with a time. That E.
Starting point is 01:05:36 We got that E. got that in the movie. We have it. The new one from The Raging Idiots. Thank you very much. It's Eddie and myself. I think or do tell me something good coming up. Okay. All right. By the way,
Starting point is 01:06:16 we'll be in Boston, March 17th. Less than a month away. The Raging Idiots, our first show back. And then IHard Country Festival, too, in Austin. Who knows? That's not probably going to blow up. We're going to be playing. Next thing you know, top of the chop, pop chops, whatever that shows is.
Starting point is 01:06:29 What? You know, Bohemian Rhapsody? Do you see that? No, I haven't seen the movie yet. Here's the thing about Bohemian Rhapsody. It's annoying. It's pretty good. or eight, two and a half guitars out of four. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:06:38 Yeah, whatever. Right down the middle. Yeah, but they're like, we're a queen. We're going to form a band. Next thing you know, we're on top of the pops. How'd this happen? It doesn't work that way. From one scene to the next.
Starting point is 01:06:48 And I'm like, come on. Oh, it didn't show any of the work to get there. It's like they're playing in a club, and their lead singer has to quit the band. And Freddie Mercury is watching, and he goes, well, you know, I like, I like to sing a little bit. And they're like, well, you do. Like, well, yes, I do. Here's a whole bunch of songs I wrote. And the next thing you know, they have a manager, and the next scene is,
Starting point is 01:07:06 we're going to play Top and the Pop! And the next thing you know, they're like, we got a hit in America! And I'm like, all this happened in like nine seconds? That's a crazy story. So you say that, and then I'm like, I don't really want to watch that then. You should watch it, though. Watch it anyway? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:18 And watch a star is born. Oh, yes. We're going to do that. Yeah. And then listen to the raging idiots. All three of those. All three. Yeah.

Starting point is 01:11:11 Yeah, because it has protein and it has different food groups and cereal is usually all sugar. So if you're going to eat breakfast, it's better and smarter to eat a slice of pizza. Man, as a kid, I would get that box of cereal. I just think I was the healthiest person on the planet. Yeah, like weedies. Milk? Back when we thought milk was good for us, which it definitely has some factors. now that are positive.
Starting point is 01:11:32 Mm-hmm. But, boy, I can't do milk now. They used to say it does a body good. Milk? Oh, yeah. You used to give me a mustache. What are you going to say? I mean, yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:39 Sometimes, like, I just ate cereal all the time for tons of meals, and I thought I was being, like, super healthy. Even in college, if I had cereal for dinner, I'd be like, I'm so healthy right now. My sister and I used to fight over the back of that cereal box. Uh-huh. We get a box of honeycomb because about once out of four cereals, we'd get the name brand. Otherwise, we got the generic kind of the bag. And you got the bag that doesn't even stand up on the table.
Starting point is 01:12:00 there's nothing to look at in the bag. And the bag is, you know, it's like honey bones. You know, not honeycomb. Right. And you have to go to the bottom because they keep all the poor people's cereal. So we'd find them. But once a month, we get the good cereal. And then we would fight over the back of that box.
Starting point is 01:12:14 We sit at the table across from each other. And it was who got to look at the back because it was where the mazes were in the games. And don't get us started on the toy in the middle. Even though I was four years old, I was like 27 us fighting her for the toy. I was like, I want the whistle. Yeah, that was life around the house with us. Yeah, pizza, better for you for breakfast. I saw this too
Starting point is 01:12:31 that most patients don't mind if a doctor has piercings or tattoos when we think of this is Amy, your podcast, four things with Amy Brown? Yeah. You had a doctor on talking about all kinds of cool stuff. But I was like, man, what if I a doctor showed up
Starting point is 01:12:46 and had a bunch of tattoos? I probably think he's more down anyway. Down to what? Like, understand what's up with my life on the streets. What's up? Yeah. He gets what it's like for me living on the streets
Starting point is 01:12:56 probably understands a little bit better. A breathing, breathe in, that's what's up. Yeah, that's, that heartbeat is lit, man. That's what's up. But if he was like, so down, that's how he talked. Yeah, your blood pressure man is lit. It's off the charge. He's like, like, set the soap on your neck, dope.
Starting point is 01:13:14 Yeah, it's like, you don't know if he's saying something's wrong with you or you're just awesome. Like, what does that mean? No, no, I don't do dope. Oh, dude, you're so sick. Like, sick, sick? You know what Mike D's laughing in the corner? It's good. We've hit something funny.
Starting point is 01:13:28 Yeah. Mike never makes a noise over there. Would you be concerned if you notice your doctor had a nose ring? Go ahead, Amy? No. You wouldn't? I wouldn't. Yeah, me either.
Starting point is 01:13:38 I'm cool with that. What about a neck tattoo? Dirty job. I mean, like, where'd you get your degree? Skola Hard Knocks? Dope. When you were in jail. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:13:52 Maybe. Where'd you get your degree? The pit of tangerie. Okay, okay, okay. I mean, nose ring, okay, would I know if he had a nipple ring? Because that's really questionable. Let's hope not. Does he come in shirtless?
Starting point is 01:14:06 Maybe I could see it through the white coat. Is he coming in his jail pants? Maybe I could see it through the scrubs, but I'd be like, why'd you do that? Research indicated that patients prefer their doctors wearing a traditional attire, but they said mostly if you're like under 40, you just understand like tattoos are part of life now. It's like a thing. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 01:14:25 Remember when sleeves used to be crazy? We'd be like, I can't believe John Mayer, got a sleeve. Now everybody has all the tattoos. So, yeah, I saw that. A girl that texted me, a friend knows her. It's like, hey, she calls her. She texted me, she has one of those things in her nose. One of those bull, what's it?
Starting point is 01:14:40 A bull nose? Oh, no. I'm not into that. Oh, the one in the middle. Yeah. That's disgusting. Yeah, it's kind of a little odd, huh? It's like Flintstones.
Starting point is 01:14:49 No, that's a bone in there goes all the truth. That's like a caveman bone. That's right. Not a piercing. It's time for the good news. It's Bobby. Tell me something good. He's got him Ryan.
Starting point is 01:15:03 Trains pretty much every day to be in those strong man competitions. You know where they move boulders and stuff? Oh, yeah. Right. But he saw a Jeep getting a car crash and he ended up getting over and moving the two-ton Jeep with a string. Amazing. Wow. That's when your crazy hobby really comes into play.
Starting point is 01:15:19 You're crazy what? Hobby, like to get into that. Well, I mean, I'm sure for some people it's more than a hobby. But, I mean, you would be, I think those people are crazy to, like, try to lift that stuff. But look at how it helped out here. Ryan was on the scene when the Jeep rolled over and trapped the man inside. He was able to push the Jeep, moving feet before the medics arrived. Wow.
Starting point is 01:15:39 Feet. Yeah, I wonder if he uses legs, not his back. That's what I do. And our power left? Oh, all legs. I'm so sore today. Would you be able to move a car like a... I'd cry.
Starting point is 01:15:47 A centimeter? I would just look at it and cry. No chance. Please, God, move this car for me. I can't do it. I'm asking you big man upstairs. They say a journalin pumps in and, you know, might be able to.
Starting point is 01:16:00 I don't have that much adrenaline. Like, I couldn't even move a golf cart, much as a real car. Listen, if there's a hot wood on top of you, Amy, I ain't got nothing. I'm pretty weak. All right, there it is. That's all about. So in Philadelphia, there's a guy, and he's like, I'm going to steal that laptop because the guy's sitting on a bench, and he grabs the laptop and takes it off running.
Starting point is 01:16:18 Well, as he's running, he runs stealing the laptop past a running club. And so the person's like, that's my laptop. And the running club's like, oh, this guy's running. We can run with him. Oh, yeah. We can catch him. No props. and they're chasing him, and the guy realized
Starting point is 01:16:30 he's being chased by a running club. And like, runners. And so it cuts to a construction site. And the running club's like, cool, we'll run with them too. So they're running beside him. The guy pulls his calf muscle. Oh, no. And the running club's like, we got him. And so they, they like, what do I do?
Starting point is 01:16:46 So the construction guy called the cops and they got the laptop. Wow. Got taken down by running club. That's funny. He just runs by the running club. I thought you guys would like that. So what do you learn from this? Don't steal. Yeah. But if you do, make sure you do it where there's only walking. Right, right. Or train for it. Yeah, or rollerblades. Or do steel training. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:05 The Bobby Bones show. When the show is over, you can go back and hear the whole thing. Just search for the Bobby Bone Show. Wherever you listen to your podcasts, you know, there's a show, too, that I do about music. It's called the Bobbycast. It's free, too. We talk about podcasts. It's all free. So let's say you pick up IHeart Radio and you search Bobbycast. The newest episode that we put up, it's Eddie and I talking about big time artists. that hate playing their hits now. And we talk about Miley Cyrus because she doesn't want to play party
Starting point is 01:17:32 in the USA anymore. She's still will occasionally. And there's a whole list of them, right? But here's that talking about that. Now, if you're Miley Cyrus and you're this big, you know, young adult star, do you really want to play your 15,
Starting point is 01:17:48 stuff from your 15 years old? Yeah, that's like Paul McCartney never singing, I want to hold your hand. No, it's not. Stop it. No. Miley Cyrus is not saying a party in the USA is nothing like beatable. That's ed is astute point.
Starting point is 01:17:59 Hey, it's a good point. And then we start talking about Bruce Springsteen and my favorite Bruce Springsteen song and Eddie makes fun of me and then I'm like, oh, here's my other one. You want to know my other favorite Bruce Springsteen song? I'm not kidding. It's so good. What?
Starting point is 01:18:13 Oh, no, no, I agree with this. St. Paul's Coming Town. Maybe one of the best Christmas song ever. I wore, you can't really wear the, where your, my app out, but like I played this so much during Christmas. But when you hear my first favorite, Eddie made fun of me a lot. It's typical. Anyway, that being said, there's a new episode of the Bobbycast.
Starting point is 01:18:31 all about artists who won't play their hits or hate playing their hits Some of this stuff's crazy Amy You'll be like, what? For example, not to give you a teaser But the band Oasis, hate to play Wonderwall They were like a stupidest song ever That's their big song
Starting point is 01:18:45 Yeah We hate it, we're not gonna do it Wow, if I went to see them and they didn't play that They wouldn't. There are some of these on this podcast You'll go, if I went to this show And they didn't play that way But they don't play it
Starting point is 01:18:54 So anyway, Bobbycast search for it A lot of that out. Hey, we hit the jam though, huh still? Still legit. It can be like, oh, how cliche. But this still comes on, you sing everywhere. Come on. It's going to be the day that they're going to throw it back to you.
Starting point is 01:19:07 You do it with accent, too. Buy now. You should have somehow realized what you got to do. Are they from another country? Yeah. Or just a different state. Do you know who that is? Oasis?
Starting point is 01:19:22 Yeah, okay. Got it. Here's another one. But I didn't know. I thought they were from America. You know who this is? Mm-hmm. Stairway to have.
Starting point is 01:19:31 Yeah, who? I know. Give me another hint. No, give me another hint. Are they for another country? A hint. No. Lunchbox, do you know?
Starting point is 01:19:43 Oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness. Stop. Just give us another hint. It's on the tip of my tongue. That's two words. It's one of the biggest fans of all time. All right.
Starting point is 01:19:52 Sweet. Black Sabbath. Thanks for the hint. Noah. Noah. Robert Plant, Jimmy Page. Jump on him. Let Zeppelin.
Starting point is 01:19:59 There you go. Okay. Lunch. There you go. It's close. Hate it playing this song. I'm great. That's the big song.
Starting point is 01:20:07 Anyway, the new Bobby cast is all that. Check it out today after the show's over. Be like music. That's the ooh solo. Eddie and I had this bit we wanted to do only for our own enjoyment, right? Where we would go and we would do it, we'd go on stage. One of our musical friends let us come on. We put on wigs, right?
Starting point is 01:20:29 And then we would just do a big, powerful song with all big vocal. and not act like it was a joke and sing it the best we could with runs and everything, and just see how they'd react. And not act like as a joke. I obviously wouldn't sound good. Like, wouldn't Houston, I will always love you? Like, we could have to sing it best we can and they don't know it's us. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:44 And we don't address the fact that we suck. Yeah, you just own it. And we just own it. And we just do it for three minutes and watch the crowd and then walk off stage. Funny, right, Amy? Yeah, you should do it. That's like Andy Kaufman type stuff. And everybody would be like, what just happened?
Starting point is 01:20:56 That's always been my dream to do that bit, to sit up there through awkwardness. Can't you do it? Well, we do our shows. somehow. But we need to have like a big, like Luke's got to call him. Be like, Bobby, you want to do that bit where you make everybody uncomfortable? Oh yeah. So you need like massive.
Starting point is 01:21:12 We need like a massive crowd. Yeah. Where they're like, welcome out the newest singing duo sensation. You know, John Boy and Frankie. And we walk out and we're like, hey guys. Nah. And then we just try as hard as we go hard. And then we do, hey, nah!
Starting point is 01:21:27 And everyone thinks we're joking, but we don't stop. We do it for three minutes. Yeah, the whole song. You think you'd be able to carry it through? Oh, yeah. Without, like, laughing. For sure. Okay.
Starting point is 01:21:36 Listen, let me say this. No, because this has been a dream of ours for years. Make it happen, bones. It's later in the show right now. There are probably some major music peeps listening. Oh, yeah. Let's let this segment, this bit happen. Live it out.
Starting point is 01:21:50 Who's out there right now that would let us come on stage and do this? Barth? Oh, wow. Garth, are you listening? I was going Old Dominion. You went straight, Darth. Dan and Shea? George Strait.
Starting point is 01:22:01 Day, what day? Are you listening? Kenny Chesney, that would be huge. Oh my goodness. Or if someone's playing like a big theater inside. Anyway, that's the deal. That's our dream is to do that. Just to mess with people.
Starting point is 01:22:13 Like that one or maybe like an Adele song. CMA Awards, if you're listening. On TV? Oh, my goodness. Yeah, that would be amazing. Can you imagine everybody? That's an audience. Can you imagine everybody changes their channel?
Starting point is 01:22:24 No. They'd watch. Exactly. And you imagine Twitter? They'd go crazy. They'd be like, what just happens? It's the CMT award. What's our group?
Starting point is 01:22:31 root name? John Boy and Frankie? John Boy and Frankie. John Boy and Frankie came out, the new country singing duo. It's like, Dan's here nothing compared to us. We don't even use an instrument. We come out just vocals. We do that thing where it goes, we do a mouth so you can get the tune. Like a quartet. So there'd be no music? No music. Just us. Just us. Acrepella. And then we even do like, hmm. And then he matches. Hmm. Okay. Hello. It's me. Tell me that would be funny. No, it would be. I mean, I think y'all need to figure out a way to do it. Gosh. Grammys?
Starting point is 01:23:03 Has it been called? Is the phone ringing? No. No, no, no. Actually, everybody has calling a different number. I'm perfect. Just a call the opposite. Parley in Arkansas. Oh, hi. How you doing, Bobby? What's up, buddy? Not much. I was just curious as to what you got Amy for Christmas. A treadmill for a house. Oh, okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:24 I had theorized the Peloton bike, but that's awesome. Yeah, even better. Peloton treadmill. Pretty crazy. Fancy, that's what I do. Take care of my people. It's like the most amazing treadmill in all the world. People come over to my house just to use it.
Starting point is 01:23:41 There's actually Nashville sightseeing tours that just come over to see it. They drive by your house and just look at it. True story. Yeah. So, hey, Harley, on my Instagram right now, excuse you're from Arkansas, as am I. There's a picture of me in the governor's mansion. I just posted it up on Throwback Thursday yesterday. That was your TBT.
Starting point is 01:23:57 Yeah, I was like, check it out. Just recently, I was in the governor's mansion. Felt pretty normal being there. It was awesome, by the way. I'm from a town of 700 people. You don't get to go to the governor's mansion. There are two people famous when you're in Arkansas growing up. One, the governor, two, the weatherman from Little Rock.
Starting point is 01:24:13 Ned Permi. Barry Brandt. You know? Come on. But I was in the governor's mansion, and I was like, yeah, I'll probably be there one day. I just got to get past that. You got to live there again for a certain amount of time before you can run. Otherwise, I have to run for Senate.
Starting point is 01:24:26 You know? Yeah. Yeah, it's tough. Because I'll take cotton seat, too. Don't think I won't. So, anyway. Yeah. How do you feel?
Starting point is 01:24:34 Would you vote for Bobby? Absolutely. Yeah, come on. Wow. I feel like that's two people from Arkansas that said they vote for you. That's two votes. That's big. Thank you very much.
Starting point is 01:24:44 And then you got Arkansas Keith, that's three. Some of your cousins. People are like, why would you want to run for politics? Because I want to step up for people like me. You know what I mean? There aren't a lot of people speaking for people that grew up like I did. Harley, how did you grow up? I grew up with very few rules, but that kind of like kept me from doing anything.
Starting point is 01:25:02 I never had to rebel, so I was just like a good kid. Hey, good kid, here we go. Harley, where do you live in Arkansas? A little bit Fayetteville. Okay, I'm going to come up there in football season. I'm a big Razorback fan. All right, Harley, have a good day, buddy. See you later.
Starting point is 01:25:16 Oscars this weekend. So that's the big movie awards, right? Here we go. I've seen three movies on the Oscars. Best Picture? Which is more than usual Because the movie's usually nominated for Best Picture It's like the Grammys that just happened
Starting point is 01:25:31 It's usually just the cool stuff that's too cool for normal people Yeah That's why a lot of times these people win Grammy Awards And they're like, oh look at it It's like no the cool You have to be cool to vote even Like too cool for normal people So that's why all these movies are too cool
Starting point is 01:25:43 It's why when they go the biggest You know whatever And you're like I haven't heard of 70% of these Here we go Have you heard of Roma? Up for Best Picture No Yes
Starting point is 01:25:54 I've heard of it Let's do let's see it. Can you probably heard the name of it. Have you seen Roma? No. Wrong button. That's on Netflix. Yes.
Starting point is 01:26:03 The Faberite, the favorite, but spelled it like British. Favorite. Nope. Vice. Yes. No. Did you like it? Yeah, it's good.
Starting point is 01:26:12 About Dick Cheney? Well done. The ones I've seen are Black Panther. It was also the biggest moneymaker of the year. Probably won't win, though. What's the favorite to win? The Green Book. The Green Book.
Starting point is 01:26:25 Where's, where do we watch that? Tom Hanks in jail? That's Green Mile. Oh, I was going to say, damn, they're late on that one. Fried Green Book? No, seriously. Oh, oh, no. Green Books and Ham?
Starting point is 01:26:35 Stop. Huh. Black Panther, Bohemian Rhapsody, which I saw, is up for best picture. And I give it two and a half out of four guitars. Right. If I haven't said that yet, it's fine. A star is born, and right now they're performing. Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga got together.
Starting point is 01:26:52 Will that win, Bones, and you're in your mind? I don't know. I don't care. These awards shows don't represent us. No award show represents us, except for the Iheart radio music words. Correct. Because fans vote.
Starting point is 01:27:04 That's right. Green Book, Black Klansman. Black Klansman is really good. Roma. All of those. There we go. I don't know. Oh.
Starting point is 01:27:16 Vice on iTunes is a pre-order. I mean, if it's out for an Oscar, we should be able to watch it at home. You should be able to watch every movie at home. Well, and I haven't seen Starsborn because it's only for to buy. I found you can't rent it yet. I don't want to buy it.
Starting point is 01:27:28 I've got to at least watch one of the movies up for Best Picture. You haven't seen Black Panther? No, my kids did. Oh, I thought you... Oh, Amy, it's good. You should watch that one. Long, though. A little long.
Starting point is 01:27:38 It was like when I watched the crazy rich Asians. Long? Yeah, I was like, here's a nice little cute movie to watch. Probably like 14 minutes. It's two hours. And I saw the preview. It doesn't look that funny, right? It's cute.
Starting point is 01:27:50 Is it comical? Yeah, right? Yes, Amy. Amy's raising your hands. hand for some reason in the studio. Well, because I want to clarify that you can rent a Starsborn. On? On iTunes. You can rent it for
Starting point is 01:28:01 you know, $4.99. There you go. What else? Raymondo's trying out for Big Brother. Do we talk about that or no? Again. Yes. Do we have to... Is that this weekend? Huh? Yeah, this weekend. I was going to save it for Monday, but I guess we can't. Yeah. What? Yeah, because it's this weekend Saturday. Yeah, I can do it now.
Starting point is 01:28:18 Yeah, blocked from my place. They came all the way to my city. It's almost writing on the wall. They want me on the show. So I'm going. I'll do sweat, pants and just roll up there. I'm not dressing out. So Big Brother, the TV show, how old do you have to be? It doesn't matter. There's no limit age. Beauty of it. You can be young. You'd be old. Would you leave the show forever to do Big Brother? If they can promise me that I'll be on the show, I can leave it temporarily. Now with Hillary back here. We've got more producers. No, no. If you leave, that's months. I have to go get somebody new new probably. If I get vote out right away,
Starting point is 01:28:43 it would only be probably. If you leave, I have to get somebody new full time. I'm telling you, man. The way we got it set up now, there's people that can fill in. Yeah, Bert Ray, your boss is saying that. that if you leave, he's going to have to replace you. Well, with the offer on the table, say, hey, you're going to be on the show. Then I think that's going to change the conversation right now. I'm just speculating. But if they tell me I'm on it, there we go, man.
Starting point is 01:29:04 You're going to go trap for Big Brother. What day? It's Saturday, yeah. What are you doing the interview process? Oh, dude, that's the best part. I just go in there. I'm chill. I'm going to try and bring my girlfriend.
Starting point is 01:29:14 Just be, yeah, yeah, that's my chick. What's up? And just totally be myself. I'm going to tell them what I do. But more so I'm just show that I like, I like to talk. I'm a relaxed guy. I'm honest. I'm not going to go on there and just try to be famous.
Starting point is 01:29:24 Like, I have no reason to try and be famous. Like, I'm just going to go there and be myself. Nobody really gets famous from reality shows anymore. Like, stay is famous. You know? I would say the bachelor people, they get some big Instagram following with Big Brother. The only reason to go on that show is to win it. If you're not going to win it, it's actually a waste of your time.
Starting point is 01:29:40 You don't actually make that much of a stipend. You don't know if you're going to win until you. Well, when you figure out the people, if you can manipulate them or not, then you have a good shot at winning it. Well, good luck. Thank you. Let us know Monday. Yeah, I'm going to roll in there hard.
Starting point is 01:29:54 Probably fifth time I've been into an audition, man. Buzz, what do you think about, like, open casting calls? Like, what are the odds that he gets picked? Like, you're talking, like, thousands of people show up, right? It's so. Listen, they often take people from those open casting calls. That's why they do them. So if he's good, he'll make it through.
Starting point is 01:30:11 All you have to just make it to the next round. Exactly. It's a regional thing, and then after that, I'm off to L.A., and once I get in front of the producers, it's over. It's over, he says. Over. Well, good luck, bud. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:30:19 Let us know Monday. Ramundo, our audio producer in the glass room. His dream is to be on Big Brother. Wow. What did I let him stay gone, though, is the question? He got an important job, you know? I do love country music, you know? Because you're country music's youngest historian.
Starting point is 01:30:35 Oh, thanks for bringing that up. The Bobby Ponds Show. On this day in country music. On this day, 51 years ago, Johnny Cash proposed to June Carter, and then they became one of the legendary couples. Wow. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:50 We've been talking about. He proposed to his tour partner June Carter in a concert in London, Ontario, Canada. The couple performed their hit Jackson in front of 7,000 fans. At the end of the performance, Johnny decided to propose on stage. Asking her in front of the entire crowd of shoot-mariam. She panicked and tried to go into another song. But the entire crowd was like, say yes, say yes. She said yes.
Starting point is 01:31:21 they married later. They married in Franklin, Kentucky, had one child, John Carter Cash, born 1970. Now, he was married before that. Correct. Slow ball, Jack. And other kids.
Starting point is 01:31:33 Maybe two or three kids? The couple met for the first time July 7, 1956, when they ran into each other backstage, when Johnny made his grand old opera debut. She was also performing that day after wrapping up a tour
Starting point is 01:31:46 with Elvis Presley. Wow. They worked together and toured for 35 years until her death in 2003. He also died in 2003, less than four months later. Now, I've talked to a few people that say they've met them both, and they just said the way he looked at her was like,
Starting point is 01:32:00 you can just tell they were just so in love. Pretty amazing. Here's a clip from Walk the Line where they reenacted it, because I don't have the real proposal. Okay, good. Sorry, folks, but I just can't do this song anymore unless she's going to marry. Just be like we're lying.
Starting point is 01:32:15 You got these people all ripped up, John now. Come on, let's sing Jackson for. You got me all revved up. And there it is. We've been talking about Jackson Ever since the fight In this day of country music history. I'm going to Jackson.
Starting point is 01:32:31 I'm going to mess around. Yeah, I'm going to Jackson. Look out Jackson Town. That was. On this day in country music. I was watching your Instagram story yesterday, Amy. Yeah? And I saw you guys like walk.
Starting point is 01:32:49 with a stroller on a creek? Well, the park we were walking flooded, and when we approached that area, it was like turn around or like when our walk is over or pick up the stroller, hike through the woods, and continue on the walk. So we decided to do that.
Starting point is 01:33:06 Was there a baby in the stroller? Yes. When you lifted it like that? Yeah, we had two babies with us. That was, we already, we lifted one stroller, got that safely to the other side, and then that was the second baby.
Starting point is 01:33:15 And then I had my dog. Yeah, we were dedicated. That baby, I'm telling you, Eddie, they lifted that stroll up above their head. I saw it. I thought they took the baby out. I saw it. Yeah, no, no.
Starting point is 01:33:25 The baby was inside, of course. Anyone watching you guys going, what's happening? Yeah, a guy stood there and watched the whole thing, didn't offer to help. Chevalry is dead. We were all, looking, without his three girls, none of us even communicating about it. Like, once we got through, we all looked each other. We were like, it's it weird that that guy, like, didn't offer one ounce of help. See, but then if you would have offered, they would have been like creepster.
Starting point is 01:33:46 What a weird guy? No, it would have been not. No. Don't touch my baby. Don't touch my baby. First of all, he was capable. This guy was strong, but he was too busy on Instagram or something, and he was like, I could tell he was even annoyed with us because we were taking up the only pathway, and it did take us.
Starting point is 01:33:59 Again, we had two babies, two shoulders, a dog. Like, it took us a couple trips. And he had to wait for us. But if he had offered to help, it would have been done a lot faster. Apparently he was strong. He was hot. Well, hot and rude. Yeah.
