Starting point is 00:02:47 Visit Disneyland.com for details. All right. The Bobby Bones, post-show pre-show. Hey, everybody. This show is over today. We hop on and maybe talk about things we talked about, where the ring thing kind of became a thing today. Yeah, that was the thing.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Well, and you'll hear it because we're talking about how wedding rings, people are buying engaging rings, and there's not spend as much money on them as they used to. And not the dollar amount, but their percentage. Meaning, back in the day, it would spend two months or three months. Two months pay on a ring, and then now jewelry places are like, actually, it should be three months worth of money and then... But now guys are doing two weeks.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Two weeks, yeah. We brought in the girl group, and you'll hear there are comments on it. But here's what I'll say, because I know you guys took some heat for your comments. You're going to take heat for anything. And if you come in, I'm going to be honest with you. If you come in and you just go, you know what? It's just all about the love. Well, it's boring and it's not honest.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Because I'm looking at the text line of Facebook. You're like, what's just all about love? Yeah, as they're also, they got an iPhone or they have other things in their life where they spend money on. Everybody has the things that are important to them. So if that's important to you guys, you should say it. And there's so many people out there that are listening. they're like, yeah, I agree, but don't write in or don't text. Don't let that get to you.
Starting point is 00:04:01 Yeah. Okay. So many times we let the minority of people screaming at us feel like the majority of people listening to the show. Right. Because I asked Morgan number two, I was like, hey, what's happening over there? She was like, don't go over there. And I was like, well, I don't.
Starting point is 00:04:15 It's a dark place right now. I go like four times a year, maybe. Sometimes something will pop up in my, I have a personal Facebook page that I check about once every four days or so to see what my sister's doing. That's about it. and other than that, really nothing. But then I'll see something pop up from our show and I'll be like, well, let me take a little.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Oh, get out of that town. What's happening over there? Oh, they're just mad at us. They think we're terrible for voicing our opinion that money is even important in engagement. But it's not about the money. But people are so full of crap, though, is my only point. People are so full of crap because...
Starting point is 00:04:47 And then why do people spend so much on weddings? Why do you talk about weddings? T-shirts, shoes. You want nice shoes? Yeah. Why the money man? matter. Cars. Why don't you live in a hut to the house? You know? There's just a lot of things. A yurt. Well, it'd be harder to live in a hunt. But you could do it. You could do it.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Yeah. Yeah. I thought about that. There's tiny houses. People all act like they're all better than everybody. They're not. We're all the same dirt bags. You know what I mean? Yeah. Thank you very much. You guys have a problem with that? No. I'm not really a dirt bag, but thanks. I was mentioning Ariana Grande and you're here in the show because her song, Break up with The girlfriend's really good, right? She is the first act in 50 years to have number one, number two, and number three at the same time. Are that crazy? She has the top three songs?
Starting point is 00:05:40 You know what number one is? Seven rings. Yeah. Number two is? No, number two is? You know what number three is? The Beatles had the other three with the last time the Beatles that can't buy me love. It can't buy me love.
Starting point is 00:06:21 They had Twist and shout, Shagin'all, baby, now. And then they had, Do you want to know a secret? Oh, listen. Yeah. So, after the Beatles. So it's been a minute, huh?
Starting point is 00:06:32 50 years. Yeah, she's killing it right now. There you go. What else? Anything else? How old is Ariana Grande? 25. I'm guessing.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Maybe. What you got? Ariana Grande ages 25 Yep look at that You get that pretty quick Bobby's like I'm not going to giggling her Somebody's been giggling
Starting point is 00:06:56 Guys don't hate me because I know something But here's the thing Do you know Cardi B is only 26? Why does she seem older to me Cardi B? Is that true? Cardi B is only 26 years old? I guess so
Starting point is 00:07:08 Wow I thought she was a lot older Yeah that you too That's crazy Cardi B is only 26 years old She got out figured out. Morgan number two, is Cardi B seem older than that to you? Yeah, when I found out, I was like, I don't have my life together. Cardi B is doing all these things. Well, don't compare yourself
Starting point is 00:07:26 to Cardi B. I think that about Taylor Swift sometimes, because she's still in her 20s. Is it Taylor, not 30 years? She's like 28, right? Oh, maybe. Taylor Swift age? Well, she turned 22 when I turned 32. That's not what I know. Yeah, good point. She's 29. She will be 30 in December of this year. Okay. Wow. Break up. And I'm about to, yeah. What's up? I'm about turning 38. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, that's how it works. You guys age the same rate. She'll never catch up to you. The cost of raising a child today is how much, Amy, over 18 years?
Starting point is 00:07:57 Go ahead. Man, half a million. No. A million? 233,000. You spent a lot of money. No, it just seems like a, no, it's, I don't, I don't really know how much it is. All I know is kids make you think that you're just spending all their money on them.
Starting point is 00:08:13 Because you are. Kids take over. Not on things they need, but like tutoring. They need that. Yeah. I would say that's a need. That's a necessity. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:24 It means like, you know, not on things that are important. I'm like the four food groups. But food. Food. Food, clothes, water. Diapers. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:37 Oh, you know what I have? Did I saw you have? Because I wear the, well, sometimes I do. I wear the glasses, the blocking glasses. Yeah. I have a prescription made. So you put it into your prescription. They were a gift.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Yeah. gave me those glasses. The blue light blocker. And you wear them before you go to bed so the lights don't go into your, like... Yeah, like at least three hours before bedtime. So you're getting them? I already got them. I'm in my bag right now. Does it help you sleep? Yeah. I mean, um, jury's still out. They're new, but I like them.
Starting point is 00:09:05 And they make me feel smart, so sometimes I wear them, even when it's not dark. Are those the glasses you were wearing on your Instagram? Yeah. The clear one, the clear frames? Yeah, well, because anytime you're looking at your computer, they're good to have. and then because the blue light, what it does is it blocks, it keeps your body from producing melatonin. So you need that to go to sleep.
Starting point is 00:09:22 It's true. Sometimes I put the computer on my head and go to sleep. Open. Well, then that's your problem. You know how you're having sleep issues? Yeah. No, I even talk to the sleep study group people that I've been emailing with about your issues. And she confirmed that they're legit.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Last night I woke up about two in the morning. I didn't go to sleep until 11 or so. Then I woke up about two. and then I just stared at the ceiling for probably two and a half hours. And I don't remember falling back asleep, but I remember my alarm going off. It was like, oh, I don't know what's up because I have nowhere to go now. I have no reason to be so super stressed out. My anxiety is killing me.
Starting point is 00:09:59 I have no reason. Could it be anxiety that you don't have a ton going on? Well, I have stuff going on. I know you do, but it's just different. Like you've been go, go, go, go, go. Last year in June, I said if I can make it until February 18th, which is a couple days ago, I'm good because I had all the dancing with stars. I had American Idol had a bunch of hardcore travel dates.
Starting point is 00:10:21 And Mike and I were traveling all over the world doing shows. We were in Hawaii, which is a crazy trip. And so I got there and now I'll wake up. I have no reason. I don't have travel forever. I could go to stand-up this weekend. Feel good? Easy peasy.
Starting point is 00:10:35 She'd feel great. Do I look smarter? Are those the Blue Bocker glasses? Yeah. Oh, mine have like yellow lenses. Oh, I've seen those. Mine are hardcore. Those are hardcore.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Yours look like real glasses. Those are cool. You can, yeah, these are Warby Parker. You can wear yours 24-7. Those are supposed to be really good for you, actually. They're goofy-looking. I know, but there's this one guy I follow on Instagram. He's really into health, and he wants to live until he's 500,
Starting point is 00:11:01 and he wears those at all times because apparently they're like really good for you. You ever heard of gunny sacking? No. It's a term psychologist used for emotions you choose not to show your spouse. Basically feelings you hide from your spouse. Gosh, I feel like I show all my emotions. too much. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:16 I am not good at hiding my emotions. But you know that. Yeah. But you, you guinea. I got a big old gunny sack. You're a guinea sack. I live in a guinea sack.
Starting point is 00:11:29 My husband gunny sacks, it's probably more common for men to gunny sacks because you all have been trained to gunny sack. Because we don't want to show vulnerability. Exactly. You were taught that it's not, it's just not the manly thing to do. And that's wrong.
Starting point is 00:11:43 My was never about manliness. because I didn't have a male influence. Well, how do you want to phrase it then? Well, society has put it that way. Yes. I don't know that it's about man or woman. Okay. I was kind of by myself and it was like,
Starting point is 00:11:54 there was nobody to be weak too. Okay. I think even a female. You didn't have it. Okay. Your story is different. I would say there's a lot of men that are taught by their fathers. Don't be weak.
Starting point is 00:12:07 Don't cry. Don't show emotion. That was never taught to me. And that's a society thing. That was never taught to you. You didn't have time to be weak. I don't think you had a choice. You didn't, you had to like just, if you wanted to do something, you had to get up and get it done.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Or you were just going to be wallowing in your, you had. Well, I never wanted anyone to see me as weak because that's all I had. I was my only support. So yeah, gunny sacking, because you hear that. It sounds like Beverly Hillbilly's saying. Like, they made a joke on family feud about us, about phone pools. Do you remember that? And I was like, cement pond.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Oh, I was going to ask Eddie if you remember, you didn't go. No, Eddie. She wasn't there. I know. People are all the time like, why didn't you take Ray and Eddie on the thing? So rude. I know. First of all, I would have taken Morgan number two over Ray Mundo, because she's on the air more. But they didn't want five radio show people. They didn't want that. I'm not famous, right? I mean, you're... Let's be real. Everybody else in that show had a super famous lead person from John Legend, Chrissy Tegan, chain smokers, vanderpump rules.
Starting point is 00:13:08 When you put it that way. Yeah. So what they wanted for me was, can you bring other people that are also kind of famous. They wanted a whole thing of country stars. Me and a bunch of country stars. But I was like, no. I brought two. They were my friends.
Starting point is 00:13:21 You know, Lauren and John. But that's why I couldn't take a whole team of the radio show. Right. Whatever makes you feel better, man. It's fine. If we go again, I'll consider you. You said that.
Starting point is 00:13:30 All right. I'll consider it. I'll say, wait. So if we go, if we were to ever go again randomly, like we wouldn't stick with like, no. O.G. I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:13:40 Okay, so. All right. Right. Okay. I don't have to go again. If you want to take totally different people, that's fine. But who knows? What if I'm super famous if we go again and I can just take anybody? But I just wasn't in that place now. Okay. So you went, so then you'd take like, who would you take? I'd take like Gator and Rod and me and Eddie. Like I would go below. If I have a girlfriend and I go on that show. She would take my slot. She would take my slot. I didn't say anything about anything about anything. need any of any slot.
Starting point is 00:14:14 But I'll take a girl. If it was like a serious girlfriend, of course. It's like family feud. That's crazy. Yeah, who's been here for you? This whole time, some girls gonna come and go. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:14:26 But you went. I know. But now I'm like, wait, I didn't know the OG family would go if you ever go again. Who knows? Okay. I don't know. I'm tired.
Starting point is 00:14:37 It's time to go. I didn't sleep last night. Thank you. You next. It's driving me crazy. It's been raining here for days and days and I have a leak. It's dripping into my bedroom. Yeah, you need to get on that.
Starting point is 00:14:48 The problem is it's hard to get up and fix the roof while it's pouring down rain. Oh, you're going to do it? No, I'm not doing it. You used to work on roofs so you could. I'm not. All you need to do is get something to nail over that hole, patch it up. I don't even know where the hole is. The gutters were full, and I went up there, and the gutters were full, and I cleaned up the gutter in the rain.
Starting point is 00:15:08 And so what happens is with full gutters, the water goes into the gutter. It can't go down. it goes onto the roof. It finds, the moisture just tends to find holes. Sometimes I forget some of your manliness. I do. I don't, I mean, I'm not proud of it. Did I forget it or that you have it?
Starting point is 00:15:24 Because you grew up doing like, everything. Everything that like I can't even picture you doing now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, everything from hardcore hunter, I was avid outdoorsman. Right, like, avid. Guns. Absolutely, that's not guns. Which, by the way, working at a boat marina, like moving boats.
Starting point is 00:15:42 hauling sandbags. Hulled hay. Hulling hay. Yeah. Did all that. Working roofs. Golf course maintenance. Tractors, all that.
Starting point is 00:15:51 Yeah. Just necessity. Had to do it because it's what everybody did and had to survive. I know, but I mean, I think, I know this is the year of you meeting a girl and I think she'd be into that. You need to start showing some of your weight. I'm not. I got to be honest with you. I'm not into that.
Starting point is 00:16:05 Not for me. What were you going to say? You want to shoot guns? No, I need you to, because I have a 12 gauge. I haven't shot in a while. You got it. And I know you go. you'll go shoot.
Starting point is 00:16:12 In a second. Yeah, let's go to the range. My husband will go with you. He goes. You won't take this gun to the range. We can just take it outside right now. Yeah, it's a sawed off 12 gauge. Oh, sawed off.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Damn. Yeah, I don't. That's for the banks. Probably not the range. It's not a range weapon. But it's my weapon or if somebody comes to my house, I can move quick with it. And I have time. I don't have to keep one in the chamber.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Well, yeah, just leave the shells by your bed. Yeah. I can load it pretty quick. Yeah. You just need one. One two, three, pop, ready, go. And also, if somebody hears that,
Starting point is 00:16:45 yeah, they don't, they tinkle a bit. Yeah, you could probably just get that, like an aft that makes that noise. And then if someone breaks in, you just play that sound effect. Yeah, or y'all, Alexa, make the chik-ch-ch-ch sound. They hear you say that to it. All right, we're going to start the show. Thank you very much. Now, where we go.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Welcome to another show, another wonderful day here in radio. world. Morning Studio. Morning Studio! Morning! I always like on people on the phone. Let's go to Sam in Arkansas. Sam, what's up? Hey, good morning, guys. Good morning. Sam, what can we do for you? Well, I had a story to tell you. My son, he's three, and every night we say our prayers, and I let him take the lead, and he just says whoever he wants to pray for. And the other night, he was saying something that it was taking me a minute to understand, but he was praying for Bobby Bones. And it was so sweet, and I thought you should know. We
Starting point is 00:17:50 listen to you every morning and so he loves you. Oh, well, tell him, I said thanks. What's his name? Harley. Will you ask Harley, like, if he can pinpoint that a little more, like, tonight. Be like, do Heavenly Father, can probably find a girlfriend? Like, not just for me. But, you know, like, let's specifically ask the big man upstairs for that.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Because I believe in my life that you get what you ask for. People always like, why don't I get a promotion? Well, I don't know. Because you're not asking for it specifically. Like, if you want something, this is just a great rule of life. You have to go and ask for it. Because most people, it's not that they don't care. but they have 10,000 other things that they're doing that they don't even worry about you right now.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Unless you tell them what you want. And then it's easier often if you tell them exactly what you want because then they can A to B super quicker, right? Like if there's anything I want, I just ask for it and I don't hang around it. I just go, this is what I like. That being said, would you have him ask Jesus to help me out with a girlfriend? I will tell him to pray for you a girlfriend. There you go. That's not too selfish, right?
Starting point is 00:18:48 No. No, selfish is awesome. Well, Sam, thank you very much. I appreciate that. Yeah, thank you. Where do you live in Arkansas? I do. I live in Greenbriar.
Starting point is 00:18:57 I know it will. You know what? One day I'll be the governor of Arkansas. You know that, right? Yeah, I'm voting for you. Thank you very much. Well, don't vote yet. That's a waste of vote.
Starting point is 00:19:03 But hopefully one day soon, okay? Yeah, sounds good. All right, Sam, have a wonderful morning. Thank you so much for calling. Something else. Let me give you a bit of life advice. Okay. I'm in a motivational mood this morning.
Starting point is 00:19:15 I'm going to tell you how to make your day more productive. Okay. Just get out of bed. Oh. That's it. Get out of bed. So many people, are they either snooze or they sit there for a minute or they're like, you're going to have to get out of bed anyway.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Just the biggest key to my success is it's getting out of bed. It hurts. It never doesn't hurt. Imagine waking up. I do wake up a little later now, like 3.30 instead of 302. But imagine waking up at 3.30 every morning. Not fun. But you know what I do?
Starting point is 00:19:44 The alarm goes off. I'm up and out. Don't feel good sometimes about it, but you just get started. Just jump right in. That's how I do everything. Don't think about it. Just go, boom, get started. Faster you get started, the more you either figure it out quicker or you fail and you learn.
Starting point is 00:19:57 And you can sometimes I get out of bed. I'm like, whoop, don't like that. That's all right. That's the biggest key to success in an early part of the day. Just get out of bed. Got it. So you right now. Look at all of us just being so productive today.
Starting point is 00:20:08 We all got out of bed. Well, I got up. We're here. And it hurt. Do you just, like, alarm? Hop out of bed. I do now. I don't know that it.
Starting point is 00:20:17 Don't slowly open your eyes and, like, reach over and turn on the TV. Just get out of bed. Yeah. That's me looking out for you guys. Okay. All right. Do you do that? Yes or no?
Starting point is 00:20:26 No, I get up. I don't hop up. I used to press snooze all the time, but now that I don't press snooze, I just get up. Yeah, good. I'm not like chipper about it, but I get up. I'm not either. I'm not chipper right now. Do you act like you hop out of bed, ready to tackle the day?
Starting point is 00:20:38 I just get out of bed. Like, all right, you have to do it anyway, right? I know. I hear you. I'll do it anyway. All right. You do that lunchbox? You lay around.
Starting point is 00:20:46 I lay around. I sit there and go, okay, I got up. Now, what time can I take a nap? What time am I going to lay back down and take a nap? And then when I'm satisfied with that time, I get up. Yeah. Oh, you can do that standing up, though. Just get right into the shower.
Starting point is 00:20:57 The Bobby Bones Show. Big Three Stories. Our producer, Ramundo, is in the glass room with a big old stack of news. Raymundo, what you got? Yeah, in Recall News, chicken salad has been recalled. If you got it, Whole Foods or Deliver Lean, take it back for a full refund. In airline news, a Delta plane from Milwaukee. was struck by lightning forced to make an emergency landing in Tennessee.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Luckily, everybody's okay. And finally, in major sports news and baseball, Mani Machado signed a $300 million deal. He now plays for the San Diego Padres. I like the big time proposals. Like, they put a lot of time into it. Yeah. A crafty prosecutor, they say,
Starting point is 00:21:40 spent five months planning an elaborate fake trial to pop the question to his attorney girlfriend. Wow. That's a lot. Brandon Dinettez and Jen Lepman, both 28 years old, met while working together as attorneys in 2016. So they're working together, it turns into a romance. And so he's like, I got to propose. But I got to do something big because she's worth it.
Starting point is 00:22:01 He spent five months planning an imaginary DUI trial in the Palm Beach County Courthouse and told her it was important that she saw his opening statement. Man, this guy went through with this. What? So how did he even like, so he got like the judge and all kinds of people involved? Yes. So he got a judge. defense attorney, a fictional defendant, and 17 of her family members to act as the fake jury.
Starting point is 00:22:26 And so he goes up to the room and does the deal. And he goes, you know, he starts to do a thing. I have something to say. And then he proposes. What do you think about that? I mean, I feel like she walks in and, like, sees her whole family as the jury. She probably would be like, what is happening? Lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:22:41 What a waste of time? I mean, that's a lot. A lot. Why are you guys haters? Exactly. I mean, come all. No, they didn't take anything away from, these are all people volunteering. They're friends.
Starting point is 00:22:51 The room wasn't being used. How's that a waste of time? It's a life memory. I didn't say it was a waste of time because it was a lot. You both had hater tone, though. He more so. But you're on my team. You see the same, you just, just because you say it in a nice voice doesn't make it any worse hater.
Starting point is 00:23:06 We both hated because it's a terrible thing. Why is it terrible? Five months of that and dragging everyone. I'm just wondering if I was hurt if I'd be like, yes. Is this really that romantic? Why are you guys? guys such haters right now. The guy planned a proposal and stunned her.
Starting point is 00:23:21 They met there. Like just walked down the hall and go in the courtroom be like, hey, let's get married. Don't plan out a trial where she's sitting there going, man, I got to defend this guy or prosecute this guy. She went into watching his opening statement. Now you're making up, thanks for you. You can't make up arguments.
Starting point is 00:23:37 I can't believe you guys don't think that's romantic. Morgan number two, do you think that's romantic? No. You guys are, damn. And that's why you're all single. No, they're not, though. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Wait, who is?
Starting point is 00:23:51 Just Morgan number two. Oh, oh, yeah. And you. And you. I can't. Yeah. The fact that he put so much time into it. Yeah, but you can put a lot of time to something, but it could be better.
Starting point is 00:24:01 I cannot be you guys to be in such haters right now. Okay. I'm blown away that you guys are such haters. This is why romance is dying. You're why romance is dying, all of you in this room. You thought that was a home run. It is a home run. It's amazing.
Starting point is 00:24:14 Oh, my goodness. cried like crazy. He got our people in there. He could just walk her in and proposed And she'd have cried like crazy That's not a great story for the rest of your life It didn't make the news You always want to make the news
Starting point is 00:24:22 That made the news It did make the news Yeah, it did You didn't go tell the story About how he had a fake trial Yeah Hives Bodies
Starting point is 00:24:29 If you want a whole bunch of money in the lottery How long do you think you could withstand from going to claim that money Well I would want to go through I mean if it's a lot I don't want to make sure I take the proper steps I do whatever I have to do The lawyer
Starting point is 00:24:45 Secure everything thing and then yeah, let's go pick it up. Like, right, get your claim in. Yeah, like, go get it before something changes. Somebody changes their mind. Or you lose the ticket. That was what would scare me that you would lose a ticket. $1.5 billion.
Starting point is 00:24:58 The mega-millionth prize remains unclaimed in South Carolina. Wow. Let's watch you see this. I cannot believe. Someone lost the ticket. They just have no idea they won. October 23rd is when they won. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:09 February 20th. They're running out of time. And, guys. October, November, December, January. Four months. Yeah, that's great. They lost a ticket. They have no idea.
Starting point is 00:25:16 won and they it's never going to be claimed and this is so crazy to me because I would be there the next hour like if I won't even do the for the billion you wouldn't even do the steps you just run there yes I would run there and if it's close I would get my sleeping bag and sleep on the
Starting point is 00:25:29 sidewalk in front of the lottery office until the next morning first thing they oh I cannot because you go and buy a ticket for this big jackpot so everybody's anticipating the big jackpot so you think you would be sitting down to look at those numbers the minute they come out because
Starting point is 00:25:46 you're caught up in the hysteria. How do you buy a ticket for the $1.5 billion and just forget about it? 1.5. Oh, my gosh. The winner has 180 days to come forward and claim the prize. It's an $870 million lump sum. Oh, that's nice. That's life-changing.
Starting point is 00:26:03 That deadline runs out April 19th. Oh, my gosh. February 20th. He said that's life-changing. You think? It's like a billion. Yeah, it's life-changing. It is life-changing.
Starting point is 00:26:14 Yes. that's different life that's like something you'll never know lunchbox no if I win I will but why don't they go back to the security footage and find out who bought the ticket at oh my gosh somebody does that right like if someone doesn't come forward did they try to help the person figured out why would they because it's a billion dollars
Starting point is 00:26:33 that they can keep I don't think they go in search to give them money away they're going to end up giving it to somebody anyway to school I think it goes either back in right back in I mean it's going to be giving away somehow. Or it gets spread out to good things. It's like raffle rules.
Starting point is 00:26:48 If you're not there, next person. Somebody with one less number. Well, I saw that in the news. Thought that was pretty crazy. By the way, Eddie and I, the Raging Idiots would be in Boston coming up on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th.
Starting point is 00:27:00 We're playing a show with Lauren Jenkins. Love to see you guys. Ragingidiotts.com if you're in Boston. Not many tickets left. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan number two, 30-second skinny.
Starting point is 00:27:12 Jason Aldeen is working on new music. and he's getting help from his son Memphis. He shared a photo of Memphis in the studio wearing headphones, saying working on a new album with some help from Little Man. Kip Moore chose the new single off his album. It's called The Bull. Here's a clip. Daly Parton shared that her husband of almost 53 years,
Starting point is 00:27:46 Carl Thomas Dean, is proud of her, but he's not the biggest fan of her music. He won't go out of his way to play her records. I'm Morgan number two. That's your skinning. It's time for the good news. With Amy. So these criminals recently broke into a car in Florida,
Starting point is 00:28:05 but this time police were actually thankful because a father had accidentally locked his keys and his one-year-old daughter was inside the truck. And a group of inmates, they came to save the day because they knew how to fix it. I saw that. They were prisoners. There was like five of them, I think,
Starting point is 00:28:21 and they were out working on repairing stuff outside. You know, what do they call that? Like prisoners? Work release? Sure. I don't know. know they were out there and then they saw what was happening and they were able to go rescue. I'm not I'm sure that's what it's called, bark release.
Starting point is 00:28:34 Not maybe when you get to go to a job period. But you had these inmates. She was only in there for maybe five minutes. All the sheriffs and these good people. Thank you. All the prisoners. Them prisoners, but set right open. So thank God for the criminals in the world.
Starting point is 00:28:48 Yeah, they said it took them like less than two minutes to pop the lock. And these are all low risk offenders, I guess. so that's why they were able to be outside working on. Don't you give them a little lighter? Oh, yeah. A month or two. Or they get, like, good behavior. Maybe they get, like, the good snacks from the...
Starting point is 00:29:08 Oh, they get the Kit Katz. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Bobby Bone Show. Bonehead. Story up the day. This story comes up to us from Georgia. A mother was at home with her two sons when the two kids were fighting over a box of cheeses.
Starting point is 00:29:22 One man got upset, walked outside, poured some gasoline on the porch, and lit it on fire because the brother ate his box of cheez-its. Wow. That's bigger than the cheez-its. Yeah, there's issues deeper than that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:36 Probably mutual, many, many disrespects and mutually disrespect it. Here's the thing about gas, though. I've poured gas on things and lit it on fire, right? Oh, it's not good. As a kid, you don't. That's not the thing to pour because you get it on. If you get any on you, you also catch on fire.
Starting point is 00:29:49 And it explodes. Yes. What happened to the house? I went up in flames, and the mom and other brother had to climb out the second store. window. The 32-year-old man was arrested. All right. There you have it. I'm lunchbox. That's your bonehead story
Starting point is 00:30:02 of the day. Folks, it's your buddy and my... Mr. Bobby Bones. Let's go. I'm a trams a day. Bobby Bonds. You've seen anything good lately? I mean, I don't know that I would call it good, but I started you.
Starting point is 00:30:21 And I don't know who told us that was good. Was it you? No, I didn't say it was good. Somebody did, though. An artist came in and was like, oh, I've watched you. It's so good. But I can't remember it was. Mary and Mary Morris. Oh, Scott and McCreery.
Starting point is 00:30:32 Is there it was? Oh, Scotty McCreery was... See, so I'm only one episode in. I've seen a few episodes. Okay, should I keep going? Yeah. The first one was pretty intense. Yeah, it's kind of a weird show, but it's about a guy who's like cyberstalking a girl.
Starting point is 00:30:46 Yeah. Do you know that show was picked up... Lifetime, I think, paid for it, headed on. One of those networks. Cancelled it. Netflix bought it. And now it's like one of their biggest shows. Wow.
Starting point is 00:30:56 Okay. So that is the latest thing that I've seen. Well, I started watching the Umbrella Academy. What is that about? It's like a group of superhero kids, kind of. So what happens is there's this really rich billionaire. And for some reason, all these women, there are, I think, 11 women, and they get pregnant and have a baby in a day without knowing.
Starting point is 00:31:16 So he goes in and this billionaire gets these kids. And so he tries to develop them into their special skills. Okay. And they're trying to save the world. It's good. It's like 10 episodes. I've seen three or four of them. Okay.
Starting point is 00:31:27 So anybody else seen that one, Umbrella Academy? My mom loves it. She keeps telling me, you've got to watch this Umbrella Academy. I mean, I was like, sounds crazy. It's so good. If you like superheroes, it's pretty good. It's a big family of superheroes, too, which is cool. So could my kids watch it, or is it for adults?
Starting point is 00:31:45 Mike, you see it? There's this, wow, Mike D. You usually read the graphic novel before he even comes out. Yeah, I think so. There's a little violence in it. Like fighting. But they don't really curse or anything super bad. So that's good on Netflix, the Umbrella Academy.
Starting point is 00:31:59 But Netflix canceled my favorite shows. They canceled The Punisher. And they canceled Jessica Jones. Oh, I didn't like either of those, so. I don't like you. Netflix is canceled. It's two remaining Marvel shows, Jessica Jones and the Punisher. Jessica Jones has one more that's already made.
Starting point is 00:32:15 They'll put it out. But they ditch Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cades, the defenders. Now, Disney has a streaming service coming up, which is where they think a lot of them could land. Because Disney's launching a Netflix called Disney Plus. So all those things are going over. Whoa. Yeah, so Disney's pulling everything off Netflix.
Starting point is 00:32:31 Wow. and they're going to launch Disney Plus, which is all ABC shows and new content, and it's a Netflix competitor. NBC is launching one, NBC Universal. There's going to be like seven or eight massive streaming platforms. But yeah, they pulled their shows. That's my favorite.
Starting point is 00:32:45 I love that. I love that. It makes me want to go fight people, which is not a good thing for me. That's not good. But I watch it and then I want to go fight people. The Bobby Bone Show. I mentioned earlier that Millie Bobby Brown is 15 years old.
Starting point is 00:32:57 She is 11 in Stranger Things, the girl with the shaved head. So I'll give you the character name. You tell me the kid actor, actress who played him. For example, if I said Kevin McAllister. I would say McCulley Culkin. Right. We talked about that a minute ago.
Starting point is 00:33:10 Yeah. So I was ready for that. All right, ready. Back and forth. Who played Harry Potter? Harry Potter. Whoa. Can you have another hint, please?
Starting point is 00:33:29 Harry Potter. Daniel Radcliffe. Oh, that kid, yes. Lunchbox. Who played DJ Tanner? I'm full house. Oh, Jody Sweeten. Candice Cameron.
Starting point is 00:33:43 Yeah, I'm sorry. Amy, who played Dugie Hauser? Um, um, Neil Patrick Harris. Watchbox, who played Lizzie McGuire? Hillary Duff. We've got a ballgame, folks. This are hard. Are they?
Starting point is 00:34:03 Yeah. Well, it's just, I don't know why, but it is. Who played Kelly Kapowski, unsaid by the bell? Tiffany Ambritheeson. Correct. Lunchbox, who played Urkel on Family Matters? White, Mr. White. I need a full name.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Jaliel White. Yeah. Mr. White. Nailed it. Amy. Yeah. Kevin Arnold. From the Wonder Years.
Starting point is 00:34:33 Yeah. Um. Stratz, yes. What did she say? What did she say? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Lodgebunch to tie for the win here. The Kid from the Sixth Sense. Excuse me. The Kid from the Sixth Sense. Do we have his character name? Yeah, the kid from the Sixth Sense. Does he have a character name? You don't need it. I know it.
Starting point is 00:35:10 Yeah, it's super famous. Super famous. He sees dead people. Oh, guys, I got it. Yeah. Haley Joe Osmond. Oh, sorry. I kid kids.
Starting point is 00:35:21 Wait, Haley, Joel Osmond. You said Joe. No, hold on. Hold on. Say it slow, all of it. Hayley, Joel, Osmond. It's not Osmond, it's Osmond.
Starting point is 00:35:30 Oh, there I thought it was, I thought he said Joe and it was Joel. It's Haley, Joel, Osmond. He did say Joe. Oh, I would say it. Haley, Joe. Osmond. No. Amy, you are the winner there.
Starting point is 00:35:42 There she is. Wow. Oh, man. Sorry, Daniel Radcliffe. Yes. I have a lot of nicknames. Who my favorite is? Country Music's Young.
Starting point is 00:35:54 The biggest historian. Yeah. I take great pride in that. That's why we do this segment here. The Bobby Bones Show on this day in country music. Today in 1996. Where were you in 1996? I was in high school, like a freshman, sophomore, starting to drive.
Starting point is 00:36:09 Yeah? Yeah. Alan Jackson made his acting debut on Home Improvement. And I remember this so vividly. Oh. They're on the set of Tooltime. Tool time. Okay, okay. And it spins around, and Alan Jackson comes on and plays Mercury Blues.
Starting point is 00:36:24 And they shoot a whole music video basically on tool time, which, by the way, home improvement was the biggest show back in the day. And so... Who did the customizing for you? I thought you were taller than that. Figure on TV. Joe Baylon. Joe Baylon did that, actually.
Starting point is 00:36:39 Joe Baylon's a classic customer. He's one of the best boy. What if you could get him on the show for us? Tim, Mr. Jackson is here because he has graciously offered to sing us a song. All right. I can a Mercury song. Mercury Blues. You want to see All right?
Starting point is 00:36:53 You want to see Mercury Blues? And then on the show I remember Tim the tall man acting like he's playing along playing the song and stuff It's crazy man And that's why I love that song so much Because I love Alan Jackson
Starting point is 00:37:09 And my favorite show back in the day Well if I had money I'll tell you what I do I'd go downtown buy a mercury or two Crazy about a mercury Or crazy about a mercury I'm gonna buy me a mercury And cruise it up and down the road
Starting point is 00:37:26 I'm going to buy me and Mercury and cruise it up and down the road One more time, Alan. Yeah, I'm going to find me in Mercury and cruise it up and down the road. Let's go. 1996, 23 years ago. Wow. Yeah, crazy. You're going to play the whole song?
Starting point is 00:37:45 Yeah. You like that? That's a jam, right? I don't think so, Tim. Oh, thank. That was. On this day in country music. Hey, it's Bobby Bones here.
Starting point is 00:37:55 Been talking about this for a while. If you haven't played Best Fiends yet, man, you're missing out. It's like Friends Without the R. Best Fiends. Best Fiends is the five-star rated puzzle game that has me and millions of people obsessed. Like, go look at the rating of Best Fiends. That's how you know it's a good game. You saw thousands of fun puzzles.
Starting point is 00:38:11 You collect tons of characters. We love the game here on the show. Morgan No. 2 loves the game. I think she plays it every morning before we start playing work, or at least most mornings. If you haven't given it a try, let me just recommend that you try it. You can play Best Fiends with the family, with the friends you love in your life. They're all probably playing it too. If they're not, you can get them on.
Starting point is 00:38:29 Best Feens, it's Friends Without the R. And here's something. The fact that you can play Best Feens without Wi-Fi is pretty awesome, too. It's perfect for flights. It's perfect for long trips. Best Feens is one of those games. You'll keep wanting to play more and more
Starting point is 00:38:43 and get the higher levels. America's falling in love with Best Feans, so do yourself a favor and download Best Feans for free from the App Store or Google Play today. That's Friends Without the R, Best Fiends. It's a Bobby Bones show. You want to hear Lunchbox's Theory? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:56 Go ahead. Bobby Bones is going to be the next Miranda Lambert. Oh, wow. It would be a country superstar with tons of hits and well respected. That's cool. Wow. No, what I was... CMAs.
Starting point is 00:39:05 No, no, no, no, no. None of that. Mary Blake? Well, maybe that. But what I was saying is no one knew Miranda Lambert was dating this dude. No one knew anything about a wedding. She's been married for a couple months. Boom, she just announces it.
Starting point is 00:39:17 And that's what Bobby's going to do. That's Bobby's M.O. He's going to find a girl, marry her. And then two months later, and he's going to be like, oh, we got married last April. What? What? Oh. Do you do that?
Starting point is 00:39:27 Yeah, would you? That's what he would do. I'd be like, listen to more at 720. Big announcement. I'm married. I've been married for a couple months. That's exactly. Will I bet I share my girlfriend, though?
Starting point is 00:39:38 Or will it just be mysterious? Mysterious, just like Miranda. I don't know if that's the case. It's hard to hide it anything. Because I live my life on social media. Like, it's the story. And don't you want, like, a wedding? She had one.
Starting point is 00:39:50 But like a one that everyone knows about? Were you all surprised when you saw she was married? Yes. Yeah, shocked. Yes. And then I clicked to see where his Instagram handle was. Did you listen to the 911 calls from which he dumped all the food over? No.
Starting point is 00:40:03 Oh, I listened to all of them. Are they so good? And he was in on that. And he's a policeman? Yeah. From what I can take, and this is me listening to them. There were two dudes that were fighting with each other. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:16 And that's who they were calling to separate the 911 calls. But she took matters into her own hands. She was fighting with the woman wherever. She was dumping plates. I think it was just plates. Oh. Again, I'm just taking clues from the 911 calls. I think Miranda went full plate dumping and then dumped salad and something.
Starting point is 00:40:30 And then they paid the check and then left. They did pay the check down. Oh, that's nice of them. Because I'd have been trying to get out. Yeah. Beet don't fail me now. In the movies, it's like they fight and then they just bust out the door. And the guy's in manager calling.
Starting point is 00:40:41 And he's like, 911 can I have your calling? He goes, hey, Miranda Lambert's dump a salad on people's head. Really? That's what it says? Basically. Anybody else hear these calls? No. Mike?
Starting point is 00:40:50 Am I wrong any of this? That's right. Okay. He's like, it's Miranda Lambert. She's dumb a salad on people. It's gone crazy, folks. And dispatcher, like, salad? Really?
Starting point is 00:41:00 And they didn't really know who Miranda Lambert is. Or they're playing it off. They're just like, we're sending someone out there right now. Is there any gunpowder or lead involved? Cerosene? No, okay. Was it automatic? All right.
Starting point is 00:41:14 We'll send them all. That's funny. Are you telling the truth that you being a white liar, sir? Oh, good one. We're so stupid. Most people have over a thousand friends on Facebook. but how many dependable friends do you think people have? Amy, dependable friends.
Starting point is 00:41:30 I mean, dependable friends? I feel like I've got a good group of friends. So dependable. Like you, no matter what, you call them, they're there. They got you. Yeah, it's like six. Oh, wow, it's good. That's a lot.
Starting point is 00:41:42 That's a little more than what this is. Eddie, you? One, my wife. I feel like all you guys. What? Bobby would be there for you crazy. No, listen, if there was work or come pick me up because my car's broken down, but I was like, good luck.
Starting point is 00:41:53 There's Uber. would come pick you. I put Bobby in the category of like if I broke down, he'd pick me up. Of course. Like Bones, if we were all late to work, all of us and like, I'm like, hey guys, I need a ride. All of you guys in this room would be like, sorry, Bobby will get mad at we're late. Good luck. But I'm already
Starting point is 00:42:08 at work. Yeah. But if we can't come get me. But that's not a life or death type thing. If I was dying, would you still do the show or come save me? I go save you. But I have some family members count because my sister's on my list. Yeah, sure. Lunchbox, what do you think? Three. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:23 I think three is a good solid number. Four is the answer. When they average it out, they have four. I think I have... Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Just aim you probably. See?
Starting point is 00:42:33 One. Yeah, but I'm way more dependable than you are. I think you're being a little exaggerated right now. No, I think probably might put Mike D. Mike D is dependable. He just doesn't talk much so you forget he's around.
Starting point is 00:42:45 Yeah. I forgot he was right behind you. I know. He stands beside me. He doesn't say a word the whole show. Yeah, Mike D's dependable. Like life. dependable. Yeah, like Mike D will stop what he's doing to help you out.
Starting point is 00:42:56 Yeah, but anybody else? Not really. That's what I'm saying. I would be there for you, though. But how many people have you heard be like, I would? I would, dude, I just stuck at work right now. I would. If you needed me, I'm there. You need a kidney? I'll give you a kidney. That's true. You would. I think that's where it comes down to. How many people would give you a kidney? Amy? Oh, well, this just dropped my number. I don't know how to answer that for them. Like, I would give them a kidney. I'll give you a kidney. I would give... One, two, three, four.
Starting point is 00:43:22 Some of you guys are kidney. you give us both your kidneys? I'll keep my six. No, because then you die. Yeah, see? I'll keep my people. Undependable. The Babbage Show.
Starting point is 00:43:32 Here's Amy's pile of stories. Okay, so Urban Outfitters is selling five packs of used VHS tapes. Used ones, huh? Yep. Well, you know, the cassette is almost the new vinyl. I have a lot of friends that are producers of music, and they're using cassettes, putting things on cassettes and dubbing them back in because they like to sound of that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:43:51 Well, you can go. and for $40, which these are things that were probably in the dollar bin at Walmart, like not too long ago. But they promised that they'll give you, like, awesome sets. Like they've got a comedy set that'll include stuff like office space, The Waterboy, A Night at the Roxbury, Heathers, and National Lampoon's Vacation. But how are you watching them? Well, you're going to have to get yourself a VHS.
Starting point is 00:44:14 A VCR. Yeah, my point is all that stuff, the VHS, the cassette. Even I'm seeing on eBay that Mario Bros. And Mario Kart, the original Nintendo cartridges are going to be. for like 200 bucks. Oh, man. Now everything that we used to use the kid is retro. That's terrible.
Starting point is 00:44:29 Time is stupid. I'm pretty woman on VHS. I wonder what it would go for. Probably not a lot if you were selling it. Because you're not selling it in a cold environment. You walk in there and you're like, oh, I'm in a cool place. All right, what else? Two dozen Long Island coworkers.
Starting point is 00:44:42 They won a $427 million jackpot. And all of them are going to stay at their job. Yeah, right now. No. Until the first time it gets a little dicey. and they're like, I'm not coming in, I'm out. What'd you say? I'm out.
Starting point is 00:44:56 They say they view themselves as family. Cool. And that this doesn't change anything and that they want to keep their jobs. They won the lottery and they won how much? Well, it was a $427 million jackpot, two dozen people. So that is about $7.6 million per person. Yeah, then taxes and taxes is about 60% of that still, I'm about. They're still quitting.
Starting point is 00:45:18 Yeah, of course. You have like $3 million there. at the first time They're not They say that they're not They're gonna stay their job They just made me think about How long fuck says
Starting point is 00:45:27 He's out Like the minute he wins Everybody would be out Oh Everybody would be out Yeah what else And lastly If you're feeling stressed
Starting point is 00:45:34 Or you have anxiety I know exactly what you need To start doing Bobby Go ahead Step one Step one Light a candle I have a candle
Starting point is 00:45:42 Sometimes I light it But sometimes I fall asleep If I fall asleep And then I'm like Ooh the house almost burned down Step two Go ahead Start rubbing your feet
Starting point is 00:45:50 My own Yes. Well, what's it good about that? It says giving yourself a foot massage with aromatherapy Helps Reduce Anxiety and Blood Pressure. People in a study gave themselves a 45-minute foot massage three times a week. 45 minutes? To yourself?
Starting point is 00:46:04 It's a long time. Listen. To yourself? They said it lowered the anxiety a lot. So, I mean, you could, I guess, go get a foot massager, but that would get expensive if you're supposed to do this like a couple times a week. I had a friend. They got me a foot massager.
Starting point is 00:46:17 And so I put my feet in it. I almost hurt my feet. My feet got stuck in the thing Oh, so you're telling me you already have a massager? But it doesn't... Maybe you need to turn it down the level one.
Starting point is 00:46:27 Too much? Yeah, you know how you get... You know how you get it? You know, if you go to the airport or in some like Walgreens they have the massage chair. Yeah. And you get in, you're like, well, this seems like a good idea.
Starting point is 00:46:35 And then about $2 later, you're like, oh, this is not a good idea. That's what that foot machine is. It was a nice gift, but yeah, it just kind of hurts. My feet are very sensitive too. I was always jealous because I grew up, you know, we would go out to the creek a lot in Arkansas.
Starting point is 00:46:47 It was a kid. We go out to the river or wherever around barefoot, I was the kid that couldn't do that because my feet hurt. Oh. I know. I know my feet. Ow, ow, ow, ow. This is me.
Starting point is 00:46:56 Ow, ow, ow, ow. So, yeah. We'll try this and massage gently. Okay, that's it is. Yep, I made me. That's my pile. That's it right there. Thank you very much.
Starting point is 00:47:05 That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good. A power line worker in Montana went over and above the call of duty. rescued a cat from a tree. He got a call from a customer. I said, hey, animal and tree. So, his name's Brandon. He shows up. And he's like, well, there is a cat up there. I don't know what to do, though. So he just climbed up like he does every day. He got his little tools out and
Starting point is 00:47:32 climb the pole. Yeah. So they don't know whose cat it is yet. It's a mystery cat. But the dude for sure showed up and climbed up the tree. It's like you. Save the cat. Saving cats. Well, you don't know that story yet. Well, but you're trying to save cats. Well, it's not my The answer story. Catman. My name is Mr. Bobby Bones. If you want to flip through the story, you can see it. I'll tell you that coming up in a minute.
Starting point is 00:47:54 I just had a cat in around my house for the past two days. And it's been winter. And I don't want a cat freezing. No. Right. So I'll tell you that coming up on. That was Tell Me Something Good. Bobby Bones show.
Starting point is 00:48:06 The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan No. 2's 32nd Skinny. Kit Moore shows the new single off his album. It's called The Bull. Here's a clip. I like this one. This is like The Bull. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:17 Thank you. teaching me love my ball guitar Thank you girl from broken bow Who's shining and all
Starting point is 00:48:30 Thanks to the bulls To buck me off I'm surprised He put out another single And not a new record The single takes a long time Well listen I like that song
Starting point is 00:48:41 The big drama About that song Was that he was like Man radio's dumb And if I put out a song called The Bull Stations are up against Bulls
Starting point is 00:48:48 Because some stations Are on a lot of the Bull stations He's like The Ball stations won't play it. It's like non-bulled. They don't want to be like, here's Kit Moore or the Bull. Yeah, on not the Bull. This is not the Bull, but here's Kim. Right. Yeah, on like, kicker. So, well, good for Kip, because that's a dumb reason anyway. All right, Morgan number two, what else?
Starting point is 00:49:10 Dolly Parton shared that her husband of almost 53 years, Carl Thomas Dean is proud of her, but he's not her biggest fan of her music. He won't go out of his way to play her records. Wait, so they've been married for how long? Almost 53 years. Crazy. That is crazy. All right, what else? And a fan shared a video of Eric Church covering Eminem's Lose Yourself at his double-down tour in Detroit. Let me listen to this. Eric Church, lose yourself. The audio quality is bad, but it doesn't sound like a very good version to me. And I like Eric Church. That's weird.
Starting point is 00:49:50 Is he rap? Is he rap part? He does, but it's like he's singing it. Oh, yeah. Okay. Yeah. I don't hear it. You don't hear it?
Starting point is 00:50:00 Well, the audio quality's bad. That's why I hate to just jump in and go, I don't like it, because the audio quality is bad. Yeah, I know. I'm not saying I don't like it. I wouldn't hear that and be like, oh, that's lose yourself by Eminem. Just lose yourself by church. I mean, the words are the same. You only get your chance to. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:50:19 It sounds like kid rock-rock-ish. Kid rock rocking up and down your box. Morgan number two, is that it? Yep, Morgan number two. That's your skinny. All right, there you have it. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bone. Let's know.
Starting point is 00:50:33 Transmitting across America. This is the Bobby Bone Show. That's right. Nah, here you. Turn it up. Come, Bobby. Over to Amy with Corny. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:50:46 The morning, Corny. What do you call cheese that's all by itself? What do you call cheese that's all by itself? Provalone. Provoelone. Proveloan. Provalone cheese. Do we like that?
Starting point is 00:51:01 Yeah, it's good. It's good. All right. Yeah. All right. I don't know about it. Tell it the next time you're with the cheese. shop. That was the morning corny.
Starting point is 00:51:11 I've been to the cheese shop in a while. I'll be honest with it. The cheese station at the grocery store. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Amber in Pennsylvania, how are you? Good, how are you? I'm good. What's up? I want an update on the flight attendant. Okay, so I guess we hit this yesterday, but briefly. What happened was I got an airplane. I was flying. I thought the flight attendant was flirting with me. It wasn't sure. I gave her a note on a napkin and said, hey, you're cool, basically. and here's my Instagram name. Our listeners found her, oddly,
Starting point is 00:51:42 and then she messaged me going, what's happening here? So then we started talking, and then we FaceTime a few times. And as of now, because I did talk to her briefly yesterday through text, since she flies around the country, she was like, I can just lay over in Nashville
Starting point is 00:51:56 and, look, we'll go to dinner or something. And I was like, you could just do that? Wow. And she was like, yeah. So that's all I know right now. So there's no date yet. No, not yet. There's just like a, it could be in the next couple of weeks.
Starting point is 00:52:10 Well, my question is, you know, I get to do some pretty cool things. Like, I play the Opry next Tuesday night. And I was like, hey, Tuesday night. Oh. Is that a cool thing? Because I would go out, because I'm doing the Grand Ole Opry. And I go out and I do like 15 minutes to stand up, take my guitar, play a little bit. And it's a cool thing.
Starting point is 00:52:28 It's a grand old Opry. Is that a thing? Or is that too much of a thing? I can't decide yet if that's like awesome or. do she. What do you think, Amber? I think it's neat that you're willing to show her what you do and your personality. I think a more formal dinner or date of some kind would be nice, too. Right.
Starting point is 00:52:52 Oh, I'm going to be able to take her out to eat, or is it just to be like, hey, I know you rearrange your schedule to be in town on a night that we can hang out and get to know each other, but why don't you come into my show at the opera? Who says we can't eat food afterward? Okay, as long as you can make time for her afterwards. But also, wouldn't it be cool for somebody just to come to the grandel opera and go backstage and get to see it? It'd be cool. I mean, yes. I mean, you're done. Why do you get romance, Amy?
Starting point is 00:53:15 That would be a woo move. That's not romance. That's like, look at what I can do to hook you up. Amber, come on. But yeah, don't you want to like look cool unless I bomb? Unless I go out and they're like, boo. Okay, yeah, what are you going to be doing? In my opinion, if you want to pursue her.
Starting point is 00:53:30 I don't know if I want to pursue anything. Amber, I don't know what's happened. But go ahead. Go ahead. If you potentially want to, I think that showing her that you have time aside from work would be a good approach. That would be a lie, though. You know what I mean? I know.
Starting point is 00:53:49 I have to kind of recalibrate because I'm not traveling. Well, I go to Iowa this weekend, which, by the way, I'm trying to get in the University of Iowa football field house to work out on Saturday. I think I might have a connection. I'm doing two shows. Oh, is that like a thing, like to get to work? out at the... Because they're legit. The Iowans or the...
Starting point is 00:54:08 Yeah. Hockey's. Go to the Hockey's... Yeah. Like, field house? I'm trying to get in. So, yeah, that'll be... Any field house.
Starting point is 00:54:16 No, not any. University of Iowa. Iowa. Because I'm doing Riverside, Iowa, two casino shows. Two stand-up shows. But it's near Iowa City, like 20 minutes. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:24 Okay. So I'm trying to go work out in the daytime over there. Take picks. Yeah, I will. Listen, I'm a die-hard Arkansas Razorback fan. Well, I'm sure you could work out of their field house. Yeah, but I don't... up there right now. Okay. But I'll take like some Iowa shorts and shirts and work out in it.
Starting point is 00:54:38 Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Amber, thank you for the call. That's the update. Are you satisfied with that answer? I'm satisfied. I just, I went to see you with somebody because I know that that's so much of what you want. So I just hope that a side of work and how of hardworking you are that you do make the time to find that for yourself. 2019's my year, baby. Right. So with that, so we've got flight attendant girl. Is there any other prospects? I mean, but I mean prospects. I'm not a spielunker. I'm not a Major League Baseball Scout.
Starting point is 00:55:12 You know, we got a big prospect here. Is there anybody else that you would want to invite to the Opry? Oh, I went out with one other girl. Oh, like out out? Yeah. I don't know if she's into me, though. I think my sense of humor is a little off. What was the date?
Starting point is 00:55:28 Well, we went to dinner. It was easy. I didn't take her to watch. Okay. Yeah, of course. You pick her up? Yeah. Wow.
Starting point is 00:55:36 Wow. That's a date. Open the door? You picked her up? Yeah, of course. Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course. Pulled her to her up? No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:55:42 No, no, no. No, I was like, no. Yeah, some people don't get me. Okay, you don't think she got you? I don't think so. Oh, that's awkward. Yeah, I don't think so. Hey, whatever.
Starting point is 00:55:54 So probably not again? Well, we've been out twice, but I don't know about it there. I don't know. I go out with her, but I don't know. Some people just don't get me. I get the feeling she was like, you know, what's happening here. I'm telling you the truth.
Starting point is 00:56:06 Okay. So that's it. I think you would like that challenge. Who has time for a challenge right now? For someone to try to get you. I know. Like you will get me. You want to go out again?
Starting point is 00:56:18 Yeah, but you hate to be the person like asking them out and they really don't want to go and they feel kind of pressure to go. Yeah. Because that happens. So I'm just waiting to get ghosted at this point. You know what that means? Wow. Yes. They just disappear.
Starting point is 00:56:30 Yeah. Yeah. What were you going to say? Well, I mean, is it she just like fades away she ghosts like in the situation or she goes out to eat with you and then she goes. And leave during the meal. That would be the ultimate ghost. That's level one ghost. That's the update.
Starting point is 00:56:43 Anyway, that's the update. Thank you for asking the question. Thanks for listening. They're all walking in the studio right now. Our girl group. We're going to talk about guys they're spending less and less on engagement rings, right? The trend is to spend less and less and less and less and let's bring in our girl groups and let's hear what they have to say. First up, everybody's high day.
Starting point is 00:57:07 Amy, there she is. Amy, tell us something about yourself. I'm 37 years old, mom of two, and the longer I'm a mom, the shorter my hair gets. There it is, yeah. She's admitting it, though. Honestly, I might do another little trim soon. Another one. I mean, I've probably taken off a good six inches in the last year. Your husband's just going to high-five you before bed. That's all it's going to turn into. Oh, yeah, he's not into it.
Starting point is 00:57:31 Let's go to Morgan number two, our head of digital. She has all of our social pages for the show and the website. Morgan number two, everybody. there she is. I am 25 years old, and my favorite thing to do is go out dancing. Dancing, there she is. Morgan number two, everyone. And then finally, Hillary, Hillary, how are you?
Starting point is 00:57:48 Good, how are you? I'm good. I don't know what to call you anymore. Hillary are, I don't know, what do we call it? She used to be our phone screener, but she's not anymore. There she is. You need to define her role. I don't have it yet.
Starting point is 00:57:59 Well, think of it. I don't know yet. Hillary, go ahead. I'm 26, and I was voted worst driver on the show because I hit our building and I'll miss rain over Mike D. That's right. Hillary crashed into our building here at work. There's a real good moment here.
Starting point is 00:58:11 All right, girls. For years, jewelry companies told guys that they were supposed to spend two months salary on an engagement ring. Okay? So think about that for a second. Two months salary. You dating someone on two months salary.
Starting point is 00:58:21 Some companies up the ante in the commercials. And they started suggesting three months salary. Well, all of their suggestions are being ignored because the average American guy is only spending 4% of his income, which is two weeks pay on a ring. That's not true. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:38 Two weeks pay, according to the new guys. The average amount spent on a ring was about $1,500 on an engagement ring. So let's talk about this for a second. Guys are spending less and less on engagement rings. Amy? I'm not, I'm okay with it. I don't, but I just don't see how that's possible if there's diamonds involved. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:01 So you don't like the fact that guys are spending less. No, I don't care. I don't care if they're spending less. I don't even, my, I've tried to get rid of my, or sell my diamond, because I don't wear it that much. But just because I felt like I'm like, honey, this is something we don't, I don't need a diamond. I don't need this. But he is like, that made him really mad because he spent, he spent a lot. And he picked out.
Starting point is 00:59:23 He spent the time. Yes. And he went with my sister and his sister and they all got it and it's perfect. And now, yes, I'm, this was a while ago. I'm now keeping it and I hope to pass it along in my family and give it to my daughter one day. It's very special. but I like that it I honestly
Starting point is 00:59:38 okay if I'm being honest I like that it has that's pretty and has value but yeah what is the question again two weeks pay what you think about that
Starting point is 00:59:49 Morgan number two you met a guy doesn't matter how much he makes but he spends two weeks pay to buy the engagement ring go ahead I don't like it simply for the facts that I don't feel like
Starting point is 00:59:58 he planned at all to propose like if you do three months you're focused and you're serious about it, whereas two weeks, it's like he just up and decided I'm just going to buy a ring and I'm going to engage. So you're saying that he isn't saving up. Like he's not spending time going, okay, this is coming up. That's in my future.
Starting point is 01:00:16 I'm going to save up to happen. Yes, I think that's more of my focus than what the actual diamond is. Regardless, I'm going to be excited about a ring. But it just shows me that he's not totally serious, maybe. Let's go over to Hillary, who used to be our phone screener now. She's not. Hillary, what do you have? I don't really think money is everything, but I agree.
Starting point is 01:00:32 I feel like a lot of thought is not being put into this. And two weeks pay, that's really not that much. So, I mean, three months, I think that is a little more. Well, you guys didn't go on the two months. You guys went to the upper. Well, you said they upped it. I know. They said they upped it now.
Starting point is 01:00:47 Yeah, go ahead. But some people, if they're living, the two weeks, you're, you're all are acting like they get paid the two weeks and they didn't have to plan to save, like their money's not already spoken for. A lot of people, their bills, like two weeks pay, that goes towards a bunch of bills. So they do have to plan a little bit and save. It's not like you just get two weeks pay and it's like, I'm going to go buy a ring, because that could be accounted for for bills. Well, let me say this.
Starting point is 01:01:09 I, at one point, when I was struggling, I was saving up for a ring. And I didn't have a girlfriend. No. I had saved up for a long time. I was like, when I get engaged, I'm going to be prepared. And that's kind of broke. But I kept saving. But then I was like, I'm never getting a girlfriend, so I spent it.
Starting point is 01:01:25 And then what did you end up doing? What did you end up buying? I can't remember. I don't know. I don't know if I just moved it out of an account, but I don't know. I don't know that I bought anything. I think you use it all to invest in Steve Madden. Yeah, I bought a bunch of shoes.
Starting point is 01:01:37 No, like the stock or something. Where are we? So Morgan number two, you say? I say I don't think it's enough. Amy? It's fine. It's fine. I think you have to plan for it.
Starting point is 01:01:50 Now, am I going to be impressed by it? No, but it's fine. And Hillary? I feel awful, but yeah, I don't think that's that much. Okay, but I guess it depends on what they make. I mean. But we want the truth. We're not worried about how people feel.
Starting point is 01:02:03 That's why you guys come in. We want honesty. Lunchbox, what do you think about these girls? Oh, it shows you exactly that size matters. That these women talk about... Size matters. Oh, it's all about the love. I just want to be engaged.
Starting point is 01:02:14 I'll be happy with anything. But if he only spends two weeks pay, that's not enough. It needs to be bigger. It needs to be more expensive. Like, you show how materialistic you are deep down and you let it come out and it's a bad look. How did you gauge how you bought your ring? My wife wouldn't pick it out. But I mean, surely, there was a budget.
Starting point is 01:02:32 Oh yeah, I told her. Okay. How did you have to come up with the budget? How many weeks? How many months? Oh, one month. One month pay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:40 Okay. So that's what you took what you make in a month and you said, this is your budget. Yeah, she doesn't know it was a month because she doesn't, I just said this is the price tag. Because she doesn't know what you make. Well, now she knows what you make. No, no, because I didn't know as a month. This was a long time ago. Oh, you got to raise.
Starting point is 01:02:55 And so, yes, I just think you women are being unrealistic and very materialistic. and you're just showing that all you care about is size. You don't care about love. Yeah, we got the side part now. What do you think, Bobby? I'm different, right? Right. Like, I, Amy, I don't have a girlfriend
Starting point is 01:03:13 and I was planning for an engagement range. I know, but... I think anything set, like, you should spend two months is just a company trying to get you to spend more at their company, right? So I would think that it's all relative to the person you're with and what's important to them. that's what I think
Starting point is 01:03:32 and how much they make in two weeks to me it's not so much about how much they make well but okay yeah true because it's the timing thing it's like how long are they planning it like for example how much did randa lambert's cop guys but they weren't together that long he probably wasn't prepared right you know what I'm saying yeah
Starting point is 01:03:47 so he probably didn't wouldn't able to save up that long so she probably bought it well I don't know we got in trouble last time lunchboxed her and oh she definitely there's no definitely you can't yell definitely because you don't know in my opinion she bought the ring I haven't even seen the ring so I don't know Maybe they didn't even do rings.
Starting point is 01:04:02 Yeah, maybe they did twine. That's right. Ryan Hurd. Oh, boy. But, you know, I'm okay. As long as the person getting the ring is happy, I'm okay. But I don't think I would give one to any of you three because you're all haters. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:17 All right. Okay, okay, okay. Lambert 35 wore a diamond engagement ring, which experts estimate cost up to $20,000. She bought it. You don't know that. You could have it saved up. They were together for like a week. Yeah, and then he did have...
Starting point is 01:04:32 You don't even know how long they were together. Not very long. But you don't know. All I'm saying is you're spouting off a bunch of things that you have no idea. And you're yelling the word definitely. Go ahead, Amy. Yeah, I don't know. That's just experts estimate.
Starting point is 01:04:44 So who knows? So who knows? So in your opinion, who bought the ring? I don't care. I don't care. I don't care. And he could be, he, in my PD probably makes a good living. He probably took one from the room, the evidence room.
Starting point is 01:04:57 Oh, that's a good idea. That's a good idea. Where they confiscated. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Took one who's like, got this. I don't know anything about that relationship. So I have no idea.
Starting point is 01:05:07 But good for her because she switched up the narrative. It was all about dumping salad on people. And now all of a sudden, she was married. Good for her. I don't remember the exact scenario of this because it was my ex-boyfriend from college. But somehow his family ended up with like these diamonds that ended up in their mailbox. But it was a drug. It was like a confusion.
Starting point is 01:05:24 It was like not good. But I think when of his brothers ended up being able to use one of the diamonds as a ring. And they got lucky. I mean, it was beautiful. It was like a lot. I would have been scared, though. Like, you need to get these.
Starting point is 01:05:38 This is like, this probably belong to bad people. Yeah, that's why. I would never take a backpack full of cash and spend it. Because they'd kind of make them get here. Yeah. Okay, here's, you three have decided that a man needs to spend two months of a salary. That's what I hear from you guys collectively. No.
Starting point is 01:05:53 They're all looking at each other. No, no. That just sounds so bad. No, no, but that's okay. Just say what, speak, speak out. I mean, I don't care what you spend, but yeah, put time into it. Don't, it just makes it. Like two months worth of time?
Starting point is 01:06:07 Whatever, no. Yeah. It doesn't need to be the price of a car, but I mean, put a little with a tonne. Yeah, it doesn't need to be the right of. Like $30,000 or $20,000. Whoa. You buy a car. That's a lot, so not that much.
Starting point is 01:06:18 Yeah. Then what is your dollar amount? We got to close the segment. What's your dollar amount? I don't have a dollar amount, but I do appreciate color cut and clarity. Okay, see? Yeah. Go ahead.
Starting point is 01:06:27 Morgan number two? Mine's definitely under like 4,000. Like I don't really need that much. Under 4,000. Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. Hillary?
Starting point is 01:06:35 I don't know how much engage it rings costs. I don't know. It's like 5,000. All right, there we go. A 4,000 or 5,000 and Amy wants all the seas. Yeah, but then I'll probably sell it because I'm not sentimental. You're not. You're not.
Starting point is 01:06:49 I know. Which is crazy. All right. Thank you, girls. Appreciate that. There's our girl. There's our girl group. Let us know how women feel.

Starting point is 01:10:23 with the help of American Military University That's AMU. APUS. I'm reading a lot of the text messages up here and they're like, well, it's not about money. Which is why we were defining it by time because there's no money attached to it. You can make $1, and that's for two weeks versus $1 million for two weeks. So, yeah, that really wasn't the argument. It was, you know, should it be substantial in the person who's buying its mind?
Starting point is 01:10:51 I was talking to Amy off the year. I was like, I think mine will be substantial based on what I make. You know, I want it to be substantial. I don't want it to be like something. You know, I don't buy a Starbucks and also a ring. I want it to be important. Like, it almost hurt me a little bit. I feel like, when I buy a ring, I should be like, oh, boy.
Starting point is 01:11:06 You know, that's a good point? Yeah. That's a good point. Like, you're making an investment in the person you love. That's how I feel about the ring is that I need, a bit I need to go like, oh, boy. I can't believe I'm buying this. Yeah, you're diving in. Yes.
Starting point is 01:11:20 And so it's not about a dollar amount. It's about like an emotional dollar amount. That's interesting Because I want to sweat a little bit I deserve to sweat a little bit Unless it's like a ring That's my grandmother I often have this theory
Starting point is 01:11:34 That you can just buy an old ring And say well my grandmother's my grandmother's ring And you can save a lot of money doing that Oh yeah Keeping it in the family That's awesome No no no make it out Because no one can track it down
Starting point is 01:11:43 I know wink wink Oh But I would never do that It's special That's like 1999 Bobby 2 When I was like an idiot Yeah you wouldn't do that now
Starting point is 01:11:54 But you know there are guys that are lucky that have their moms or their grandma or whomever that's like, here's this really amazing diamond that you get to use to propose with. And they're like, yeah. But I wonder if any of the ladies listening right now have ever had that happen. And they're like, that ring's disgusting. Like they understand the sentimental value, but they look at it and it's like turquoise with a snake on it. And you're like, that was your grandmother? And you have to be like, oh, and they have to wear it.
Starting point is 01:12:18 Oh, that would be a thing, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Our phone number is 877-Bobby. That's her number. But yeah, to me, it's not about the actual dollar amount, but it's about the emotional dollar amount. Or I'm like, oh, my goodness, I'm really putting into this. I should feel that way.
Starting point is 01:12:38 In my mind, am I. I think that's good advice for anybody listening right that I was thinking about proposing. Yeah. You're like, really think about it and be like, this should hurt me a little bit. Yeah, like a little bit. Chop a little piece of you off.
Starting point is 01:12:49 because you're giving it to her. Yeah. Thank you very much. Girls, don't worry about the guy's wedding ring. It's fine. Yeah. Don't worry about it at all. My husband's was $45.
Starting point is 01:13:00 Yeah. James Avery, Make you holla. What? Excuse me? Okay. We were talking a minute ago about rings and I said, hey, what if someone proposes with like their mom's ring or their grandmother's ring?
Starting point is 01:13:12 And that ring's really gross looking? Because what if they're so old? You know, and you have to make a decision like, ooh, I loved it. It's important. but again, what if it's, you know, a sapphire and it's got a skull and crossbones on it and you don't want to wear that as your wedding ring? That's got to be a weird thing.
Starting point is 01:13:28 How have a lot of people who loved it? Like Haley and Texas, your boyfriend proposed with his grandma's ring? No, it was my grandmother's ring. Oh, okay. I assume you liked it? I absolutely love it. It's like the greatest thing ever.
Starting point is 01:13:40 I get to keep a piece of her with me forever. See, and that, I assume, would be the most case scenario. But occasionally there's got to be one that's like, the Titanic ring. This looks old school. I don't want to wear that all the time. Like, hey, Ashley and Kentucky. Yeah, hey, Bobby.
Starting point is 01:13:58 Hey, what's going on? Tell me your story. Hey, so my husband and I were dating in college, and he's like, hey, we're going to get married. I love you. You love me. But I don't want to wait. So he went and asked my parents, and they said, here's my grandmother's ring. You can use it, but we want it back. And so he used it to propose to me, and then when we could afford it to have.
Starting point is 01:14:19 a little month later, he bought a ring and surprised me again with that one, and we have been married 13 years now. Okay, that's, that's money. You use that ring to propose, but then you get another, like, contemporary one? Yep. Yep. Yep. That's a good deal.
Starting point is 01:14:34 And then he, what would you have thought if he had to wear that ring the whole time, though? I mean, I would have loved it. It was a beautiful ring. It was my great, great grandmother's ring, so it had been passed down a lot, but my mom wears it every day to this day. She wears it, so she's not ready to pass it on, but I would be totally happy to have Well, maybe I'm wrong, and that's never happened in the history of ring proposing. Maybe I'm just wrong.
Starting point is 01:14:54 No, there has to be something. Let's go to Mickey in North Carolina. Hey, Mickey, you're on, real quick. Been proposed to a man that had an heirloomed ring from his grandmother's, and it was bland. It was really thin bands. The engagement ring was one diamond. I didn't really care for it. I did wear it.
Starting point is 01:15:19 I did accept it. unfortunately that marriage did not work but the kind person that I am I saved that ring to pass it on to my son when he gets married Oh wait wait you didn't give it back because it's from his side of the family Well it's supposed to go to his son that is named after him and was born on his birthday So to make sure it didn't end up in a pawn shop or something I've got it put up for him That makes sense so now he can pass off this Yes ma'am yes ma'am So it sounds like that relationship didn't go so well by your time
Starting point is 01:15:50 own? No, it didn't, but sometimes things don't work out. And I went from California. I'm in now in North Carolina. Thanks for that man and met the man of my dream. So, what kind of ring did he get you? Actually, he rededicated his life for the Lord, and we did a quick little ceremony at the church. So we weren't living at a wetlock, and I went and bought a ring at the pawn shop. And it is absolutely gorgeous. whatever works whatever works and it's not
Starting point is 01:16:24 like you said bobby it's not the money you spend it's the thought and the emotion and saying i do yes the heart you put into it the heavy heart like uh strip it for parts like like um like a car
Starting point is 01:16:36 like if you get a ring so maybe you don't like the component like how it's put together but if you take it apart individually you can you got the gold and then you take the diamond and then you separate it and you kind of then you design what you want with the money from that Actually alternate, you know, redesign it just like you could with clothes, you know.
Starting point is 01:16:54 So, I mean, it's not what you wear. It's who you say is yours. Whatever that means, I don't know, but I'm into it. Hey, thank you for the call. I appreciate that. They're putting some of the nominations out for the ACM Awards. Here are your nominations for Song of the Year. Even though we break up in the end.
Starting point is 01:17:17 Cole Swindell break up in the end. Even if I knew you'd be the one that got away. Chris Stapleton, broken halos. Casey Musgrave's Meant to Be It'll Be Featuring Florida, Georgia, Line, meant to be. It'll be. So won't you ride with me?
Starting point is 01:17:50 Casey Musgrave, Space Cowboy. Tequila. and Shea Russell Dickerson, yours. All right, those are your nominees are a song in the year. Okay, here's who should win. Okay?
Starting point is 01:18:23 Because it was a monster. They probably won't, but they should. Florida Georgia Alliance won the category. Oh, yeah. Walking away, the biggest song in years, body like a back row type song, maybe even bigger, they should win. Now, all the cool people that vote for awards
Starting point is 01:18:37 tend to not vote for people that aren't artistically as cool. And then our Florida Journaline doesn't get the credit they deserve, right? So, Florida Georgia Line should win. I don't think they will unless they're hearing me right now going. I should change my vote. So they should win because they shouldn't, Dan and Shay should win. Because that song was a monster, right? If it's Song of the Year.
Starting point is 01:18:57 That being said, they're all good songs. You know, what are you going to do? You can't really be mad at any of them for winning. I mean, I probably wouldn't vote for Russell Dickerson. All the rest of them, though, are like Song of the Year. songs. The Russell Diction song is good, but I just wouldn't put it in that class. Let's see. You know what?
Starting point is 01:19:13 Cole Swindale break up in the end, man. That's a jam. That's a good song. Like, that could be the dark horse that you don't expect to win. Even though we break up in the end. There you go. Those are your song of the years. You know who got snubbed from female? Kelsey. She didn't get nominated for female artists of the year. Like, what? Yeah. It was like Marin, Carrie Underwood.
Starting point is 01:19:37 Ashley McBride Miranda Yeah Yeah Kelsey should have been in there She kind of got jipped in that one But again I think people see Kelsey and go Oh she's going to pop
Starting point is 01:19:49 And so all the cool It's like the Grammys People are like oh the Grammys Happened that changes Do you know who votes for the Grammys Super Super Super Music Insiders You know And so they're like well the Grammys happened
Starting point is 01:20:00 So all the people that won the Grammys Must be the thing now No that's not the true Only like the coolest people Way inside the music industry It's the same thing with the Oscars. If we're just an Iron Man doesn't win the Oscars. It should.
Starting point is 01:20:09 We like Iron Man. Yeah. But it doesn't. Instead, you know, it wins the Oscar. The marvelous cape of Orville Redenbacher. We're like, I never even seen that movie. That's a good one. No one's seen that movie.
Starting point is 01:20:18 How did it win 19 Oscars? Well, because snobs are voting for those awards. We need a common man's award. What were the female? Who are they? New female? Oh, New female. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:27 I haven't seen New female. What? It just came out. Okay, go ahead. New female. Excuse me. Are you sick? I'm just, I'm head cold, man.
Starting point is 01:20:35 Like her. Lindsay L. All right. Like her. Ashley McBride. Okay. And Carly Pierce. There you go.
Starting point is 01:20:41 Well, we know the female list? We do have the whole female list. Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBride, Marin Morris, Casey Musgrave and Carrie Underwood. Boy, I thought Kelsey should be on there over. Miranda and Ashley McBride, huh? Crazy. It's time for the good news.
Starting point is 01:20:57 With Lunchbox. Tell me something good. April was working the drive-thru at Dunkin' Donuts when a customer pulls them and goes, do you know there's a man collapsed in the parking lot and April runs out there. He had gone into cardiac arrest and she had taken a college CPR class a couple years before jumps into action, starts performing CPR. Who, who, who, who, who, who, who, saved his life.
Starting point is 01:21:22 EMS got there and said he'll be out of the hospital in a week. Dang, lucky, huh? Yeah. Slinging donuts and saving lives. Lucky, that's good. That's what it's all about right there. That was Tell Me Something Good. Folks, it's your buddy and mine.
Starting point is 01:21:35 Mr. Bobby Bow. I'll play you a famous guitar riff. Just tell me the name of the song. And I bring this up because Kurt Cobain would have turned 52 years old today. From Nirvana. I used to love Nirvana. I was sad when he died. Kind of.
Starting point is 01:22:03 I was also an idiot kid, but I was like, I love Nirvana. Here's the thing. I used to wear, like, flannel and stuff all the time because I was pretty poor. But it made me feel cool because that's what they did. You were grunge. Yeah, I was grunge. I was naturally grunge. because I couldn't afford nice clothes
Starting point is 01:22:18 so I was able to wear clothes like the people on TV wearing and still feel cool and that to me was I like that because I was like I'm yeah there's no pressure on me to look a certain way so like it was like in the 90s it was like country and then when grunge it I was like I'm total grunge.
Starting point is 01:22:34 I mean yeah Pearl Jam Allison Chains obviously Nirvana but yeah it made me feel like worth something oddly that whole brand of music did not so much because of what they were
Starting point is 01:22:46 saying it because what they look like. Anyway, that's all. Here we go. You ready for the guitar riff game? Ready. This is obviously, smells like teen spirits. Ready, Amy. Ready. Just by the guitar, can you name the song?
Starting point is 01:22:59 Probably. Song one. Here we go. Can you name that just by the guitar? I think so. Go ahead. Sweet Home Alabama. That is correct. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:17 Lunchbox, are you ready? Yeah. Here we go. Just by the guitar riff. Can you name the song? Oh, I got that one. Go ahead? Freebird.
Starting point is 01:23:37 No. More than a feeling More than a feeling That's from Boston More than a Feeling Ready Amy That's close Just by the guitar part
Starting point is 01:23:56 What you got? Okay Hold on I'm struggling with the What? I know that it's like Check your idea Are you American?
Starting point is 01:24:12 Listen hold on I've got this And I'm free fall But like I'm struggling Is it called free fallin or is it called Why do I have free bird in my head? Because he just yelled free bird Five seconds ago
Starting point is 01:24:27 That's why Okay. All right. I'm in. What is it? Free fallen. Free fallen. Correct.
Starting point is 01:24:33 Oh, gosh. Sorry. Once I figured out why I had free bird in my head, I can eliminate it. Watchbark, you ready? Yeah. Buy the guitar. Get that? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:55 What do you got? That's thinking out loud at Sharon. There it is. So, honey now. This song is so good. Yeah. Still a jam, huh? Kiss me under the light.
Starting point is 01:25:15 There you go. Amy, ready? Yeah. Name the song by Just a Guitar Rift. What did you yell? Stacey's mom. Yeah. Is that your answer?
Starting point is 01:25:43 Sure. No. It's my own worst enemy from Lid. Yeah, so this goes. No, I hear it now. Come on, bud. Sing it. Please tell me what.
Starting point is 01:25:56 Yeah, that's the chorus. My car was in your front yard. Last night. I'm sleeping with my clothes on. I came into your bedroom. Last night. And I got. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:09 Good. Yeah. Why do I know that? Good. Because it was a jam. Back when we were pop. No. What year was that?
Starting point is 01:26:17 It was probably before that. It's back when I was doing. I don't know if I was spinning that during my show. $2,000. No, 90s song. Fun fact, I used to have a two-hour show. He did. Go.
Starting point is 01:26:25 Whoa, easy there, Bob. What was it my turn? No, it's lunch. Oh, I'm excited. I like this game. Uh, there we go. Nand this guitar riff. Oh, it's before he cheats.
Starting point is 01:26:42 There you go. What up? Right now, I'm probably slow. with some slow dancing, slow dancing while I'm slow dancing. There you go. Amy, ready? Two to two right now. Messing me up. That's all right. That's all I know.
Starting point is 01:27:21 That's all I know. Take some time. No, but you know the song. Oh, that's wrong one. It's the middle from Jimmy Orwell. It just takes some time in the middle. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:33 Jam, though, right? What score, 2-2? Oh, man, and the drums come in right here? Hey. Too-to. Hey, don't write yourself up yet. Yeah. There you go.
Starting point is 01:27:51 Lunchbox ready. Last one. I'm ready. If you win. Oh, that's all? Whoa, calm down. Here we go. There are no words.
Starting point is 01:28:17 Okay, what do you have? That's peaches. Oh, no. Oh, no. Was it the right band? No. I'm still living with your ghost. Lonely and dreaming of the West Coast.
Starting point is 01:28:44 I don't want to be your... Downtown. Why, we have a tie? You only got two years? What's it called? Santa Monica. We did pretty good. clear. There you go.
Starting point is 01:28:57 There we go. We have to call that a tie. You know what the tie's like, kissing your sister. That happens. There you go. And like Lachbach says, sometimes you kiss your sister. Do you ever kiss your sister? No, I've never kissed my sister. Just his dad. Just his dad in the lips. Yep. Every time I see him. I'm my mom. That's true. They're a lip family. Yeah, for sure. People say, what are you listening to right now? Here you go. These are the three songs.
Starting point is 01:29:23 I looked at my playlist this morning. Here you go. First of all, Old Dominion One Man Band. I don't want to be a one-man band. Jam. I'll play this song for people. Like, just getting ready for Idol. They're like, what is that song?
Starting point is 01:29:38 That's good. I was like, that's Old Dominion, one-man band. And like, is that country? Like, yeah, good, huh? You'll get tattoos and we'll trash hotel rooms. Baby, take my hand. I don't want to be a one-man band. I converted so many people that didn't know they like country music to country music.
Starting point is 01:29:56 They'd be like, is that country? Like, yeah, I'd be like, man, I like that. And all of a sudden, they're five songs deep going, I guess I kind of like country. I'm like, well, no crap. Get out of here. That I make them leave. Ryan Hurd, to a T. Other song I've been playing every time I get my phone up is this.
Starting point is 01:30:28 Are you on a grande song? Do you guys listen to this one? This song is a jam. It's called Break Up Your Girl, Ryan. I feel 12 when I sing it. I don't know this. You don't know this song? Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 01:30:39 You probably tell me it's not cool. That's how this is how this relationship works and because it's not cool. And then like two weeks later, you think it's cool? No, I'll be singing it. Yeah. It's a lot. It's always happened to me. Yeah, that's a jam.
Starting point is 01:31:11 Those are the songs I'm listening to now. What are you listening to over there? I mean, oh, we listen to a lot of Drake and Cardi B and whatever my kids ask Alexa to play. Yeah. Anything specific? Anything new? Nothing. knew. I'm trying to think of what my daughter
Starting point is 01:31:26 wrote every lyric to. It actually, I was really impressed. I need to take a picture of it and show you all because she went through, you know how Alexa will put the lyrics on the screen? Well, she went through and she wrote down every single lyric to the song. She practiced her English. She practiced her handwriting.
Starting point is 01:31:42 It like looks really good. Down, down, down. Oh, what is the song? Shoot. I mean, and now she stands in front of Alexa with her handwritten lyrics and sings every word. Down, down, down. I need to text my husband and be like, are you at the house?
Starting point is 01:31:58 Wait, I think it is? Jay Sean That's old school. No, no. No, but I'm in a show y'all and you're going to be. Is it down to the hanktonk, Jay-Go? We can't get Jake on? He's not waiting. He just got nominated for this song. He got answering? Call him on my phone. Let's see if Jake Owen answers a cell phone.
Starting point is 01:32:20 I'm going to put my phone up to the mic. It's probably blowing up. nominated for an award. I thought they didn't edit that out. I was like, what? He's not going to answer. Well, I saw him tweet that he just got nominated for the song for ACM. Try to call him.
Starting point is 01:32:49 Didn't answer the phone. What? Who's TGEE? Oh, rescue me. Is it chain smokers? Rescue me? Are you having a conversation with yourself? Now I'm trying to figure out the song that my daughter wrote all the lyrics to.
Starting point is 01:33:02 And now, I don't know. I just thought, if any other parents out there need their kids to practice their handwriting. Rescue me! This one? It wasn't this. She figured his time from the 60s. Featuring Kanye. Not Kanye.
Starting point is 01:33:17 I don't know. Rescue me. That's not it. 30 seconds to Mars? No. This is not it. Then I got nothing for you, Amy. Okay.
Starting point is 01:33:29 I'm communicating with my husband who knows nothing about music. All right. Well, good call. Good talk. Good story. Yeah, good story. And then I found $5. Two days ago, I'm in my house, and it's nighttime.
Starting point is 01:33:45 And I hear, we're like, did I just hear a cat? I don't have a cat. There's no cat that's near me. I don't know. Is that a cat? So I get real quiet and doesn't make a noise for a long time. Then I start moving about the house. And I hear, I'm like, I just heard a cat.
Starting point is 01:33:59 Nothing. So, and listen again. Not making any noise. I start moving again. And I'm like, there's a cat. So on my answer story, I'm trying to find this cat. It was also like 30 degrees outside. So I don't want this cat to be cold.
Starting point is 01:34:14 I go to every door in my house. I'm in like the backyard. I'm in the carport. I'm in the garage. I'm trying every way to find this cat. Nothing. I go down under my house. Nothing.
Starting point is 01:34:25 No cat. I go to bed and I hear this cat. I know I hear this cat under the floor right? When I go to bed. I can hear me meow under the floor. If I go to sleep, there's nothing. He wouldn't come out. So yesterday I go.
Starting point is 01:34:37 I get home from work. It's like noon. and I'm putting my stuff up. I walk in my backpack. I take my clothes off immediately. And I'm just like, there are, and I hear, meow. And I'm like, oh my goodness, there's a cat again.
Starting point is 01:34:49 So I'm determined. And this whole thing's on my answer story. You can see it. I go down under my house and I go crawling through the crawl space because I'm going to save this cat. So take the side of my house. There's like a side thing, like a slab, I unbolt it, and I go down into the house.
Starting point is 01:35:04 And I'm crawling. I'm on hands and knees. It looks like I'm in a cave. Look at my answer story. I'm down like in the nitty-gritty. and I'm down and I'm like and I'm trying to get the cat to come out and I'm whistling I got tuna in my pocket
Starting point is 01:35:16 just in case you're ready case needs a little snack and I get back to the back corner of my house and I see this cat and all of a sudden he goes and dart to cross front of me and right out to cross space
Starting point is 01:35:28 I saved the cat yeah look at you look at me basically I'm a hero I'm a kitty cat hero what you think about that I mean I'm impressed
Starting point is 01:35:38 you were dedicated You didn't give up. I can be your hero, baby. I feel like this shows what kind of boyfriend you could be. That's right. I was determined to save that cat. It was cold. It didn't even be trapped in or that.
Starting point is 01:35:51 He was scared. And it darted right in front of me. And I say it my aunt's a story. I was like, I didn't get to meet the cat. But we had a bond. Yeah. Like forever bonded. Forever bonded.
Starting point is 01:36:05 This is my story. Cat just ran by me. There was a cat under the house. The cat. I just spooked. cat out. It ran up. Well, it ran that way. I think I just rescued the cat. I didn't get to meet the cat, but I think
Starting point is 01:36:15 I just rescued the cat. All is good under the house. And I know way more about my house, too. When I was younger, I used to go through crawl spaces and, like, run cable lines. Have you talked about that job I had? I'm pretty sure I've heard about it, yeah? People would hire me, and I'll go crawling under houses,
Starting point is 01:36:34 and they would draw holes in the ground, they've dropped cables, and I'd have to go find them and pull them. Codges are so scary to me. You know, and then it didn't bother me so much. You guys today bother me. I was like, you can see. No, I was impressed with your,
Starting point is 01:36:47 like your manliness for this cat. Thank you. I was just determined to save this animal. Yeah. Because I will remember you. I could see how cat gate could get you a... Do you know that's not a thing? I don't know what people call things a gate, right?
Starting point is 01:37:02 Watergate was the name of a hotel. It was the Watergate Hotel. And people go like, deflate gate or did a gate. The gate wasn't a part of any sort of conspiracy. Nipple gate. It was. Literally the name of a hotel. Watergate, one word. Yeah, but it's a thing, so we go with it.
Starting point is 01:37:16 Eh, whatever. I mean, this is what keeps you other night. Yeah, I sit and I think about this. And I go, why are people calling things like, you know, radio gate, tomato gate? I'm like, no, no, no, water gate. What this is based of, it wasn't like a controversy about water. The hotel was called Watergate. So the fact that we're debating this is like the Watergate gate?
Starting point is 01:37:34 Yeah, you don't do that. But yes, yes. Okay. That's the kind of stuff I sit and think about all the time. Yeah. So, yeah, there you go. I'm a hero. I feel good about myself. Should I get an award for this?
Starting point is 01:37:45 A-C-M, they give me A-CM-Cat award. Hey, tomorrow, Judah and the Lion in the studio. They're going to play. So that don't happen tomorrow. They have a new song that came out today with Casey Musgraves called Pictures. That's cool. There's a new Bobbycast up. It's free to listen to podcasts.
Starting point is 01:38:18 Just go to IHart Radio or wherever you listen to your podcasts. And search Bobbycast. And Gabby Barrett came by my house. And Gabby Barrett finished third last season in American Idol. I think most people thought she was going to win, blonde from Pittsburgh. And so she comes up and she's now in Nashville, you know, pursuing a country music artist career. And I'm talking to her about what it's like to have to go play in these rooms with these executives. There's like four people watching you and you're trying to impress them.
Starting point is 01:38:42 And she also talks about calling Carrie Underwood to ask her what she did after American Idol. I talked to Carrie Underwood on the phone. I think name drop. After American Idol, she reached out to me and said, you know, like if you need any help with anything or I'm here for you, she gave me her number. I called her. We talked a few times and I just asked her. I was like, what did you do after American Idol to keep your mom and I'm going? She was like, I would just constantly work while I was on the American Idol tour.
Starting point is 01:39:05 I would constantly work. And I said, okay, that's what I'm going to do. So it's interesting. And she talked about how American Idol found her because now I think they scout as well. They go online and find people that can sing real good and go, hey, do you want to audition for the show? They have producers that reach out or look on the internet through YouTube and through hashtags on Instagram and things like that. And the first time a producer reaches out, are you going, come on. You mess with me?
Starting point is 01:39:26 Almost, yeah, because, well, when you get an email, like, a producer wants to Skype with you, you're like, is this spam? Or is it real? So search Bobbycast, and you can hear that episode with Gabby Barrett. Starting point is 01:43:18 In Nashville. Yeah, but he... On purpose? Well, here's the story. A guy in Tennessee tipped $22,000 at a bar and what I read to was all the servers
Starting point is 01:43:27 were like fighting in it come and serve him. Oh my gosh. His friends called the cops after he texted them saying he was on drugs and the manager of the bar said he was causing a disruption
Starting point is 01:43:38 so he was arrested for public intox in charge with possession of a firearm while intoxicated. A guy named Joel was at a bar in downtown Nashville. He was so drunk he kept giving the servers huge tips.
Starting point is 01:43:51 That is so awesome. Over the course of time, he tipped $20,000. $22,000. But he'd also been texting his friend's strange stuff about how drugs had, quote, increased his intelligence. So they called the cops. And the cops got there. The managers at the bar said he was causing a disruption.
Starting point is 01:44:07 He was arrested. But I wonder what happened to the tips. The tips stay because he did it numerous times. It wasn't like it was just one tip, right? Right, right, right. Altogether, $22,000. Oh, he can't comply. He cannot say that, oh, I didn't mean to do that.
Starting point is 01:44:20 No. He can because he's wasted. Like, if you're wasted, do your tips count? $22,000 in tips? Oh, teach him a lesson. And what do you think about that? I don't really know how to. I don't want to be the person that decides how to handle that.
Starting point is 01:44:36 And what if you're a server and you made $7 grand and it gets taken back? I mean. Yeah. If I'm a server and I got a $7 grand tip, I'd quit. That way they can't take it back. I got it. I'm out. credit card it takes
Starting point is 01:44:48 I mean I don't think it's that easy it's like a bunch of cash handed to you right then right then it isn't venmo it to them I mean if he's so wasted I don't think Bobby you would
Starting point is 01:45:00 yeah there's no way you just have to be one of those things in life it was like one time I got a $7,000 tip but the guy was drunk so it's taken back like it's just one of those stories
Starting point is 01:45:11 a 25 year old woman gives natural birth to seven babies Six girls, one boy, believed to be the first septuplet birth in the country. Naturally. In the rarest of rare, a woman who gave birth to seven babies, first of all, that's the big story, six girls and one boy. Quite the ratio there, too. Six girls, one boy.
Starting point is 01:45:30 It's the first septuplet birth in the country, and it's all natural. Wait, nobody else has given birth to seven babies before? Wow. Not, yeah, but they've done eight, right? Like, Octomomom. But I think they're, the C-section for that baby is? Yeah, I think they're all C-sections usually. Oh, so naturally.
Starting point is 01:45:46 seven babies out of the Is that for real? Out of the whistle hole. Out of the I mean, wow, wow, we know. I mean, wow. That's impressive. It was a natural birth.
Starting point is 01:46:00 All the babies are good, perfectly healthy. The father of the newborn baby said he and his wife had no plans to expand their family, but now they're like, oh, we have 10 kids. Wait, they had no. So this is an IVF? They just got pregnant with seven? All I know is I read in the story and saw the picture of. I hear we had no plans to expand our friends.
Starting point is 01:46:16 family, so that means they weren't planning for that? As a dude, do you go like, do you pat yourself on the test and be like, yep. Seven babies, baby. That's what I do. I don't even understand how that happened. Well, see, what happened is they were... There's a bird and there's a bee, right?
Starting point is 01:46:32 And the belly button, I know. Yeah, yeah, they come out the belly button, just scream. Listen, that part, I know, but the seven... Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a lot. I wonder how big she was. They can't be full-sized babies, right? No, no, no, no, no, no. You gotta come early.
Starting point is 01:46:47 Yeah. It's like a clown car in there, man. Well, there's one. Wait, there's another one? So maybe, like, doing it naturally when they're that tiny, is she just kind of like, boop. I don't know. That is so...
Starting point is 01:47:03 I'm going to read more about this. Are they going to do a documentary? I need it on Netflix. She needs a reality show. Now. The Bobby Bone Show. Let me go take a call from Michaela in South Carolina. Good morning.
Starting point is 01:47:17 Good morning. How's it going? My day's a lot better now. Oh, good. Well, thanks for calling. What would you like to say? I just wanted to say how much I love you guys and how much me and my husband enjoyed watching you on Dancing with the Stars. Oh, thanks.
Starting point is 01:47:32 And I can't wait to see you guys on Family Feud. I can't wait to see us either. I'm not sure when it's going to air still. A lot of people are asking me. Maybe sometime like June to August is what I'm hearing now. Okay. I think that's when they run it, that summer season. That's like three months.
Starting point is 01:47:48 So that's... What's up, Michaela? Oh, no, that was the radio. Oh, okay. There you go. Well, hey, listen, I appreciate you calling. Anything else you'd like to say? No, that's it.

Starting point is 01:48:20 I got to plan an indoor activity. Thinking of probably the science museum, haven't done that one in a while. Do you worry about germs there? Because when I see pictures of you there and it's all that stuff, those kids touch all the time. Oh, I'm not playing all up in that. Yeah, but you touched them. The kids... It's because my kids touch it and then I touch them.
Starting point is 01:48:36 Yeah, it all comes back around. Oh, okay. Good point. No, I mean, we carry hand sanitizer, try to wash our hands. Yeah. Don't worry. We keep that in mind. All right.

Fight, fight, fight, fight. There's one that we did last night, though, with Gabby Barrett. She finished third American Idol last year. She's, you know, a new country artist in town.
Starting point is 01:49:48 Search Bobby Cass to hear that. But that's what's up with me. I've got just a bunch of work stuff. But I don't have to travel very much. I'm going to Iowa this weekend to do two stand-up shows, but all my TV done is, all my stuff's done for like six weeks, which is awesome. Wow. So no California flying.
