Starting point is 00:02:49 The Bobby Bones Show. Big three stories. Let's go over to our producer, Ramundo. Ramundo, what you got over there? In government news, President Donald Trump became the third president in U.S. history to be impeached. In other news, rapper Takashi 6-9 was sentenced to two years in prison Wednesday by a judge who said because he cooperated, he was able to dodge decades in prison.
Starting point is 00:03:11 And finally, somebody in Ohio won the 372 million mega-millions jackpot. They have yet to come forward. Back to you, Bones. All right, that's the news. Coming up, we'll get back into the list of our top Bobby Bones Show moments of 2019. We're now at 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. Our biggest Bobby Bone Show moment coming up. And also, we'll kind of count down our list of our favorite songs on the radio right now.
Starting point is 00:03:34 We've got a good show for you today. Thanks for hanging out with us. Get your Bobby Bones on. The Bobby Bones Show. These are my favorite songs on the radio right now. Whenever I get to hear Ryan Hurd to a T, it's one of those songs. I'm like, man, this is a good song. We should play it more.
Starting point is 00:03:51 And that's Marin Morris, his wife, singing with them there. So that's a jam. Morgan Evans has a new song out called Diamonds, which is really good. And here's that one. By the way, there's a lot of Morgans that exist. Morgan Evans, Morgan Wallen, Morgan number two on this show. Morgan number one that works for me over there. There's just a lot of Morgans in my life right now.
Starting point is 00:04:34 That's a good one. And then I think my favorite song right now on the radio is Ingrid Andrus, more hearts than mine. That's a good one. So good. A list of yours. I have one, I mean, for sure that I'm into is Morgan Wallin chasing you. Oh, yeah. Jason you
Starting point is 00:04:59 Like a shot of whiskey Burning Burning burning Going down Working number two What about you? Do you have a favorite? Yeah
Starting point is 00:05:13 Thomas Reds Remember You Young? I dance This one took a minute for me It was number one this week But I never really felt it Until like right about now These
Starting point is 00:05:24 Here's the thing about We're moving songs so fast up a chart They just come and go Really fast Before you can really get to love level Like I'm just now loving this song And now it's done Like we're killing songs for artists
Starting point is 00:05:35 Not we is in this room But like radio Like we need to slow down And some of this crap We need to get off the air Just because they're on a late This is a broken system But yeah this is a jam
Starting point is 00:05:46 Pardon my soapbox moment there Yeah turn that one up Eddie have one Yeah old dominion one man band And I know you've liked this song for a while And I've always been like Whatever it's fine I'm like you now, though
Starting point is 00:06:06 It's like The more I listen to it, it's so good I don't want to be a one bad bad I don't want to be a rolling stone alone Putting miles on a rundown band Baby we could take our own show I yelled at the kids the other day Because they were talking during the song in the car
Starting point is 00:06:23 And I was like, stop Oh, you did that? You dadded them? Yeah, listen to this one for a little bit Even though you can just go find it and play it again Yeah, it was on the radio So it's like, turn it up Lunchbox's favorite song right now?
Starting point is 00:06:35 it's easy. Anytime this song comes on, you put a smile on your face. Good vibes. Chris Hansen. Eddie, I know you and Chris are close. Did you go to Christmas party? I didn't. I wasn't able to. The Cowboys were playing. That's what my husband said. The Cowboys were playing and it was a kind of a later game and the party started at six so I just couldn't make it. I was going to go to. We talked about it and I was like, yeah, man. Because last year you and Kid Rock was there. Yeah. And Charles El Eston. Was Kid Rock there this year? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Dang. Those are all our favorite songs. We'll put them up on our Facebook page if you want to see them and download or stream them. Appreciate you guys hanging out with us today. Favorite moments of 2019. All right, we're at it again.
Starting point is 00:07:37 And we'll get to number five right now. If you search the internet, you'll find all kinds of crazy stories about celebrities, specifically Garth Brooks. And if you know, Garth Brooks is my favorite. Google is flooded with urban legends about Garth. So, when we had a lot of people,
Starting point is 00:07:51 in studio this year, it was our chance to get full confirmation at number five, favorite moments of the year, the Urban Legends about Garth Brooks segment with Garth Brooks. The Bobby Bone Show. Favorite moments of 2019. Number five. Urban legend. Now, this all roots from when we asked you last time if you really signed autographs for 24 hours at a time.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Right. And you said yes. Yes. And you said if they're there waiting, you're going to be there on well. Yeah. That's fun of it. Love it. So, because of that, we've had all these stories. The first one, in Garth Brooks Urban Legend. Garth Brooks Urban Legend.
Starting point is 00:08:31 So the urban legend is that you refuse to accept the AMA for Artist of the Year because Hootie and the Blobfish deserved it. Man, them, salt and pepper, boys to men, they were all tearing it up. We had kind of taken the year off and thought it was sweet of the AMAs to get it to it. But in honor of those guys, yeah, I left it there. It's at the house, though. I just, I have to have to confess. It found its way to me. So what you, so you left it there, but they ended up mailing you one anyway. Yeah, they just ended up sending it to me. So did you, did you like break it or like, what happened?
Starting point is 00:09:03 Well, no, it's at the house. It's cool. It's very sweet that they did that to me. It just, I didn't felt, you know, I just, sometimes you feel like, okay, maybe, maybe we do. Maybe this was our year. And then sometimes you're going, man, this wasn't our year at all. Somehow it was like a popular vote or something. And it might have been a time when, you know, like, co.
Starting point is 00:09:22 country music like always has the largest most loyal audience. So I just felt like it got in the wrong hands that year and just kind of spoke up and just, I don't know. I remember an interview that Tricia Yearwood right after because it was a very Garth thing to do. And I thought, what the hell does that happen? So, but it's, it was just, yeah, that it happened. Okay, here's another one. Garth Brooks Urban Legend. On Saturday, October 21st of the year 2000, Garth Brooks evacuates children from Fire's Path. Tell me about that one. Turf off.
Starting point is 00:09:54 Yeah, man. Just had a big fire over a thing and me and Ted Larkin and Emmett Gillum. Jumped out of the truck and just started going house to house. It was, you know, just be prepared. When you kick in a door, be prepared for what you're going to see inside. It was one kid in the bathtub. But got them out. And it wasn't saving anybody's life by any chance.
Starting point is 00:10:15 But then the story, of course, then grows from there. It becomes urban legend. But you kicked in a door and saved a kid. You're driving around. Oh, yeah. No house got burned down. I mean, the fire departments here in Oklahoma, especially the volunteer guys.
Starting point is 00:10:29 They're awesome, all of them. They had it covered. Probably because you rolled on all of them. He saw fire and he stopped. Rolled them all out. All right. Garth Brooks Urban Legend. Garth Brooks Urban Legends.
Starting point is 00:10:39 It does. You have so many. You originally sang Friends in Low Places as a demo for another artist. True or false. Yes. Don't about that. I got to sing it. They called a, I'm a straight fan.
Starting point is 00:10:51 Huge George Stray fan. So they said, we got a song we want to pitch to George Strait. It said, great, I'm in. They sent me Friends in Low Places. I learned it, sang it. And just as I was heading out the door, I said, hey, you know, I'm about to get a deal with Capital Records. So if this never happens, you know, let me know.
Starting point is 00:11:05 And I said, yeah, thanks, we'll call you. And it was probably a year later. They said, hey, man, you remember doing a song called Friends of Low Places? I said, I sing it every day. We were even on the road. And I said, I'm singing it out on the road all the time. Would you like to take a swing in it? And said, hell yeah, I would.
Starting point is 00:11:19 That's a, I can't imagine my career. Favorite moments of 2019. Bob it Von Schen. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan No. 2's 32nd Skinny. Keith Urban shares what gets him in the Christmas spirit. And the lights going up, which was a little earlier this year because of Thanksgiving. You know, we didn't wait.
Starting point is 00:11:40 We just put those puppies up and the place looked awesome. We're the best Christmas-looking Thanksgiving ever. Luke Combs talks about the Christmas gift his parents gave him when he, was in his teens that he will never forget. My parents got me my own television when I was probably like 13 maybe, and they put it in the basement. They hooked it up to cables. I mean, my buddies could watch TV down there, and they've got me like an old couch from Goodwill. I appreciated, you know, the sentiment of that. My parents giving me my own space and stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:12:13 John Parties' love for Elvis began at Christmas because of his grandmother. One of my favorite memories of my grandmother's tree, and I think maybe why I love Elvis so much, and she loved Elvis. She had an ornament, and it was Elvis, and you'd hit a button, and it would sing Blue Christmas. I think that's probably why I like Elvis so much. I'm Morgan number two.
Starting point is 00:12:36 That's your skinny. The Bobby Phone Show. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good. A Massachusetts couple has officially become parents to three boys under four after adopting a trio of brothers.
Starting point is 00:12:53 and Lena Curry first adopted Joey last year on National Adoption Day. They adopted his biological brothers, Logan and Noah, too. They say keeping the brothers together was really important to them. So they got, you know, adopting one kid's a big deal. Yeah, huge. And then you hear that they have two other siblings. Mm-hmm. I mean, to adopt a second kid is mad, but three kids?
Starting point is 00:13:17 Holy moly. And they did that. And now that they get to be all together, it's huge. You're kids. Do they have brothers and sisters? I don't know if Stevenson does. I don't think so, but Stasheera does. Her mom has a son. She has a brother.
Starting point is 00:13:33 She knows about him. She prays for him. Does she know him? She has met him. So, yeah, she feels like she knows him. I feel for her on that because I know she thinks about them. But I don't know much. And until we can go back to Haiti, I won't really know more.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Yeah, you should never go back to Haiti again. We're going back. I know, but I'm just saying that because it's not safe. I know it's not safe. That's why I've canceled three trips. But now we've been waiting for the two-year mark to take the kids. And December 21st or 22nd, it'll be two years. So after that, we can officially, we feel comfortable taking them.
Starting point is 00:14:08 And now it's like, Haiti's in such turmoil. It's such a bummer. Because otherwise, we'd be on a plane. We'd be booking the trip. We'd be making it happen. But yeah, it's not safe. Whenever it's places not to go, it's always don't go hang out with a Taliban. Don't go hang out with the cartel.
Starting point is 00:14:22 and don't go to Haiti. So in the neighborhood that the kids' orphanage is, it's Delma, it's what it's called, and there was a French couple. A lot of people from Canada and France adopt there because kids speak French. So a French couple had flown in. They were outside of the guest house similar to a lot of places like we have stayed before, and they were killed. Wow.
Starting point is 00:14:44 They were there to pursue adoption. They were just there on a visit, just like we would go many, many times. Holy cow. Some of my friends. That's not telling me something good. I know it's not, but I'm saying like it's terrifying. Tell me something. I know.
Starting point is 00:14:56 It's crazy. Also, a segment we'll never do. Tell me something. Because sometimes I think like, maybe what could happen to us? It can't be that bad. Like, we'll just go. But now I'm like, okay, no. And if we do, we're going to call in favors and friends that have safe cars and security and stuff.
Starting point is 00:15:13 I know it sucks. So anyway, on that note, I hope one day Stasheera gets to see her brother and mother, but we'll see. And on that note, this family who adopted us three kids? We're just trying to get it back to where we started. That's a great story. Sorry, I forgot it was telling something good. That's what it's all about right there. That was Tell Me Something Good.
Starting point is 00:15:30 Lobby Bone Show. Story of the day. This story comes with us from Washington, D.C. A man was in his apartment when he noticed a squirrel was like cutting a hole in his ceiling. He was like, I need to get that squirrel out of there. Ah, how can I get it? I'll smoke him out. So we lit some incense, stuck the thing up there in the hole,
Starting point is 00:15:49 and the squirrel grabbed it, ran off. No. Way. Yes. And dropped it in the ceiling somewhere and it started a whole fire in the apartment complex. Oh, wow. That's a cartoon. The squirrel grabbed the instant.
Starting point is 00:16:02 I bet the guy's like, oh, bleep. And then you just wait to see if anything catches on fire. Yeah. And so he caused a lot of damage to the apartment complex. Wow. That's funny. I just hear the music. Totally.
Starting point is 00:16:15 Totally. And the squirrels run around with a bit. Wow, that's funny. I'm lunch, That's your Bonehead story of the day. The Bobby Bone Show. The Bobby Bone Show is proud to be supported by Grand Canyon University, an affordable, private, non-profit Christian University

Starting point is 00:20:04 Favorite moments of 2019. No, we know that we wouldn't get to do this show without you guys. We know that we have a big platform and that we should use our voice for as much good as we possibly can. And this year, you guys crushed it as $2.5 million raised for St. Jude. for our St. Jude Radiothon. It's our biggest year to ever do this. And it's not even that we're trying to break records. If you just keep up with the year before, that's a big win.
Starting point is 00:20:33 Huge. And so, but we broke the record. And so we just appreciate you guys so much. And we appreciate the artists that come in. Morgan Wallin came by and played Chasing You. The song's so good. Chasing you like a shot of whiskey. And all through the Radiothon, artists came in to play live.
Starting point is 00:20:51 Austin Moore did help me hold on. Help me hold on to what we've had. So many of these country music stars came in, passionate about St. Jude and played early in the morning. And you guys continued to donate, and it was just a really special couple of days. And so I want to play Jake Owen. He came in.
Starting point is 00:21:13 We love having Jake on as a guest. And he did a cover of Ingrid Andrews, his song, More Hearts Than Mine. I'm going to play that for you now. Here's Jake Owen performing at our St. Jude Radiathon, our number four moment is raising $2.5 million together for St. Jude. The Bobby Bone Show. Favorite moments of 2019.
Starting point is 00:21:31 Let's go. The Bobby Bone Show. Favorite moments of 2019. So one of the cool things from the year was that I got to go on Family Feud. Well, did they invite me? They said, hey, you can be on Celebrity Family Feud, which, first of all, I thought it was cool. They thought I was a celebrity.
Starting point is 00:21:44 It's crazy. And so I was like, wow. And they said I can bring whoever I wanted. And so Amy Lunchbox and I'm friends with John Pard. party and Lauren Elena, the artists. And so we all went and played Family Feud, which is pretty crazy to actually walk out there, huh? Yeah, no, it was not so.
Starting point is 00:21:59 And, I mean, Steve Harvey was the coolest and the fact that we met him and hung out with him. So cool. Here is that segment here on the countdown of our favorite segments, our favorite moments of 2019, us going on, the Family Feud. The Bobby Bone Show. Favorite moments of 2019.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Number three. How you been, though, man? I'm good, I'm good, you know? Trying to mentor the next generation of singers and trying to dance and trying to tell jokes and I got all my friends and the country music family here with me today. Well good, man. Let's meet everybody. This is my best friend and co-host, Amy Brown, country superstar Lauren Elena,
Starting point is 00:22:32 country superstar John Party, and my co-host lunchbox. And I got to tell you, this first question, I go up and you do your hand and he asked the question. The question was so long, I started looking at the card. I didn't even really hear it. I gave the stupidest answer, and they still gave me credit for it, but I didn't deserve credit for it. I didn't even really hear the question.
Starting point is 00:22:51 They should have just exed me out. But they did give me one of the things here we go. What might a jealous stripper do to the pole when the hot new girl comes out? Eat it. And that was like the number four answer. I didn't deserve to get dinged. And so then Amy goes up.
Starting point is 00:23:18 Yeah. And she puts her hand on the table and Brooklyn Decker puts her hand on the table. And I think, did Brooklyn go first? Okay, here we go. All, Amy, get the change. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:32 With those eyes. What'd you want me to do? What do you want me to go? Amy? And usually, the person would go sit down right there, but Amy continues the fight with Steve Harvey. Can I go now? No?
Starting point is 00:23:59 Crowds heckling Amy. They're like, no. She has to go back? Where? From whence you come? All right, Tessa. And it came down to the final question. And the question was,
Starting point is 00:24:31 named something that starts with B above the waist. Yeah. Okay. And so they miss it. It comes back to us. And I wanted to get everybody in the game. So I let Amy answer the second one. Yeah, about being in prison and the hole.
Starting point is 00:24:44 Yes. And then I let Lunchbox come up because he hadn't been in the game. And Lunchbox answered this one here. Lunchbox. Name something that starts with the letter B worn above the waist. It's called a baseball hat. This is for the win. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:25:07 Base. Be bone show. Favorite moments of 2019. Let's go. Bobby Bones show. Favorite moments of 2019. We're getting close to that number one moment. We're at number two right now,
Starting point is 00:25:29 and it's Eddie, our video producer, and his foster kids announcement. Because I tell you, I had known secretly that you went and adopted the baby. Yeah, I told you. And I didn't know when to talk about it on air because I didn't want it to mess with anything legally with this whole process.
Starting point is 00:25:46 But, man, that's crazy. This is number two, huh? It's number two. Yeah, this year we found out that Eddie expanded his family from two to four almost overnight. Yeah, pretty much. You're going to hear when Eddie announced it, but you still have the two kids. I still have them. They're still at home right now.
Starting point is 00:26:00 Let's listen back to this really incredible moment on the show. It's our number two segment this year of our favorite moments here on the Bobby Bone Show. The Bobby Bone Show. Favorite moments of 2019. Number two. Eddie, our video producer. is it you who has a life-changing announcement? It's me. It's Eddie. It's Eddie. It's Eddie. Okay, all right.
Starting point is 00:26:26 What is your life-changing announcement? Guys, this is big. Life-changing. My family, I have a wife and two boys, and now I have two more foster kids in my house. I am a foster parent, guys. This is crazy. And amazing. And crazy. I don't know what. what you can say, but how old, can you say how old the kids are? No, I don't, I don't want to give too many, I can say there's a newborn, a baby, yeah, in my house, and then another child. So how did you become a foster parent? Okay, so this goes back about a year ago, my wife wanted to adopt, and we've been talking
Starting point is 00:27:05 about adoption for like, forever, and I've been kind of the dark cloud of just like, no, I just don't think we're ready for that, I just don't think we want to do that yet. And then about a year ago, I was like, met in the middle with my wife, is like, how about about we just kind of think about fostering? So we went to some classes. And your wife was like a child protective services for a while? She worked child protective services for about five or six years in Texas. So she's seen a lot of stuff. Yes. And I think from back then is when she wanted to kind of knew she's always wanted to be involved in something like that. So we were like, all right, let's get certified and let's just see what happens. We got certified, which was like a four, four month process.
Starting point is 00:27:43 They call you overnight. We get a call and it was like late at night and they say, um, we have a placement for you if you guys are ready. And we're like, okay, I think we're ready. How fast does it happen? They say have a placement. Is it like a week later? No, no, no. Hours.
Starting point is 00:27:57 Like, we need you to come to the hospital and pick up the baby. Wow. Wow. So we went to the hospital and picked up the baby. So with that said, you have four kids in your house right now. How long do they stay? So it's about a year. It is kind of the max, the max time.
Starting point is 00:28:15 But the whole process is designed this. way. It's designed for us to just, you know, serve as a house and a safe place for these kids as while their parents kind of figure out whatever they need to figure out. Whatever problems they got themselves into, they've got about a year to figure all that out. They've got these requirements that they need to meet. And until then, then we kind of figure out if these kids go back to their parents or they go up for adoption. Would you all consider adoption? Right now, we're trying to stay. on track and just be like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:28:49 This was our decision and we're going to try to stick to it, but I feel like the more we have these kids. Yeah, you're going to be so attached. Are you already attached? I mean, yeah. I mean, it hasn't even been that long and yes, we're very attached. And then our kids, I mean, I think the example for
Starting point is 00:29:05 my two kids, my biological kids is like, it's great. They see this happening and guys, I didn't grow up this way. I didn't grow up knowing what foster care was. You know, we didn't, my parents and how many friends that had fostered. Like, we didn't know anything about this.
Starting point is 00:29:21 So for me to even think that this was going to happen to me in my life is ridiculous. Like, I would have never thought this was going to be me in my life, but it has become that. And I'm just, like, happy about it. Look at this guy. Guys, video producer Eddie. Guys, life changing. From McAllen, Texas. You're 40 now, right?
Starting point is 00:29:42 I'm 40. 40 years old. Producer Eddie. Bobby Bones show. Favorite moment. of 2019. So earlier on in the year, we had Army Specialist Scotty West from Fayetteville, Arkansas on.
Starting point is 00:29:57 And we, and when I say we, I mean you, the B team, helped raise money to build Scotty and his family at home, Purple Heart, National Defense Service, Global War on Terrorism, medal, Iraq campaign, Army Good Conduct, and he had severe injuries on his tour in Iraq. And so the number one moment for us in 2019. and us was getting to do this for Scotty West and us meaning the listeners in this room. Very cool. And so this is the number one moment for us this year.
Starting point is 00:30:30 It is helping Scotty West build a home. And it's very special to us and we want to play it back for you now. The Bobby Bone Show. Favorite moments of 2019. Number one. So you're out of the hospital now. You're back living in Northwest Arkansas.
Starting point is 00:30:46 And if I'm right, you have two children. Yes, sir. 16-month-old and 8-year-old. You got a baby and an 8-year-old. Wow. And so, what, we as a show, and when I ever say as a show, I mean, not only this room, but also the people that listen to the show, because we feel like people that listen to our show are us. Like, we represent them.
Starting point is 00:31:05 What we're going to do on Friday is we're actually going to raise a whole bunch of money to help build you a house because we feel like it's the least that we can do for a hero like yourself. I think, though, it's great. with two kids, that's got to be, it's got to be tough to be able to try to get around with two kids in the house, right? Yes, sir. We appreciate what you do, and we will talk to you soon, all right, Scott. Thank you so much, Mr. Bond, Jones. What was our goal, Amos?
Starting point is 00:31:37 What was our goal? Oh, I think we set our goal at $50,000. $50,000 was our goal. Yeah. And we were like, I don't know, man. It's a lot. Because that's a lot of money, and we thought if we put $50,000 in, we can get that house going. Right.
Starting point is 00:31:51 And I got to tell you, the number's not 50,000. Uh-oh. I know. Let's open the towboard back up. The new number from you that listen to the show and give out. The new number for Army Specialist Scott West is $156,000. Wow. The Bobby Bone Show.

Researchers from the University of Cambridge, they analyzed wine glasses over the years, and they found that the glasses that we're drinking out of now are basically massive. Like 300 years ago, they used to drink wine out of shot glasses.
Starting point is 00:36:09 But now we're drinking them out of these big old glasses, like a pore is more than a few ounces. I bet you in the last 20 years that wine glass has gotten a little bigger. Much less, the last 300? Yeah, I think of a lot of times probably the serving size that I'm pouring at home if I'm using like a legit wine glass is probably two glasses of wine technically. That's why it's so easy to go through a bottle. That's the problem. You know? How many nights a week do you have a glass of wine?
Starting point is 00:36:35 Well, not really. Why are you waving me off right now? Because I'm so-ha-physically her body went into. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. No, no, no, no, no, because I'm so proud of myself because there was a time where I really was having a lot of wine. just to chill out, just calm down, to help me sleep. Like, the ways we shouldn't be using it several nights in a row. And now I can go weeks where I'm like, I haven't had a glass of wine.
Starting point is 00:37:00 Like, this is great. Do you enjoy wine? I do. You like the taste. Yeah. And I think the last time I had a glass was on Thanksgiving. Like, I had a little with our lunch. Good for you.
Starting point is 00:37:11 She started waving me down hard. Whoa, whoa, whoa. No, because I wanted you to know. I know that I've been guilty of having wine most nights. but I'm not right now, which is I'm proud of myself. So there's this new dating show, Bobby. Maybe you could get into it. They're launching it next year, and it's called 12 dates of Christmas, and it's coming to HBO Max.
Starting point is 00:37:31 Singles are going to participate in holiday activities like ice skating and sleigh rides with the ultimate goal of finding someone to bring home for the holidays. Wait, so they're doing a Christmas dating show, not at Christmas? They're going to start filming it, I guess. It'll launch next year around this time. So like you, I guess you go on these dates And then the ultimate goal would be like, okay, is this going to work out?
Starting point is 00:37:53 Am I going to take you home for the holidays to meet my parents? Oh, I can't do that. I don't have parents. We could bring them to my house. I could be like, okay. But that's often that thing anyway. It's like, well, you got to meet Amy. And they're like, who's Amy?
Starting point is 00:38:05 Oh, no, no, no. Which are we going to see you Christmas Day? I don't know. I don't want to be the guy that's always. You're not the guy. I don't want to be that the guy who always has to come over because if I find out. that you just were at home.
Starting point is 00:38:20 Are you going to do what spank me? Whoa. No, we're, no. Why would you go there? Because you're like, like I'm a child. Well, if I find out. Because I feel like I'm, well, no, we'll just come over and get you. Because that won't be all right.
Starting point is 00:38:33 Spend the night bones so you can come down the stairs. Or something. Yes. Will you put presents under the tree for me? Yes. She's like, why would you say that? She'll treat me like a child. We'll get you a stocking and fill it up and you can do the, but we will be doing something special

Well, do you want to have us over to your house? All right, what else you go? Okay. So this is, you know how I love giving out PSAs? I just wanted to let you know that if you put too much air freshener in your car and then you light a cigarette,
Starting point is 00:39:03 it could cause an explosion because that happened to a guy. Like he sprayed way too much air freshener, decided to smoke, and then it like blew out his windows. How much air fresheners this guy putting into his car? That's a lot. I'm sure he just depends on like the brand and what it is, but this is just one of those things. Like, beware, it could happen. Luckily, he was not seriously injured. Are we sure that he didn't, like, put a hole in the can and throw a cigarette in the can? No, this is what it says, so I believe the story.
Starting point is 00:39:31 And I take this so seriously. And God, maybe, he's an Uber driver. You know how some Uber drivers, they have way too much air freshener? Yeah. We need, that's another PSA. Let's tone it down. I had used a bunch air freshener. Quick, really quick, embarrassing story.
Starting point is 00:39:43 What? I went to pick up a girl for a date and had a really bad gas. Oh, no, no. And then I had to stop at a gas station and just to, like, spray my car. car down. I know. It's more embarrassing. And then I think she was like, what's that like rotten melon stuff? I was like, oh no. It's outside. No. Don't worry about that. Don't worry about that.
Starting point is 00:39:59 Amy, is that it? Yes. I'm Amy. That's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Stay home there's something good. A few years ago, Dorothy Hale was sitting around her house. She was retired and she's like, I need something to do.
Starting point is 00:40:17 So she found a class on how to repair musical instruments. She's like, that was a lot of fun. So she said, hey, husband, you should go take that class. He took it. And now a couple years later, they've donated over a thousand instruments they've repaired to the local school district. Wow. So they buy them broken and cheap and then they learned and now rebuild them and give them to the school. Isn't that crazy? And they do it together. I didn't think about that part. Yeah, that's a good too. That's awesome. That's what it's all about. That was tell me something good. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bowling. All right. Let's. Right. Let's

Starting point is 00:55:15 Oh, yeah, that was definitely not me. This is Amy's daughter calling me. And I didn't know if it was an accident because her daughter doesn't just start talking to me. Starting point is 00:56:19 Oh, they know how to use a phone. phone and you were on my call log so she called you. Like I honestly was washing my face and I came back in and she was hanging up with you. So I don't know. I'm not, I'm not up, I don't tricks up my sleeve. Yes, you do. You always do. Okay. They're kind tricks though. All right. Well, I just, Amy, Amy called me before that was like, we're going to watch Elf. Listen, I would come over if I'm not the only one coming over. Okay, so who else needs to come. Who else? See, that's the thing. You're having a family Christmas. I don't want to be the one straggler. I actually want, no, I want anybody that doesn't have anything going on.
Starting point is 00:56:52 Like, I know, I haven't, I don't know what Scuba Steve has going on. Like, he's still new here and doesn't have. They're going to family. Okay. See? I'll be with my family. Which is, my dog. My dog got sick yesterday.
Starting point is 00:57:05 Listen to this. So I'm with my dog and he starts to go. And he had this throat surgery because it was closing up. And so he gets, he's choking on like vomit. And so I have to stick my hand in his mouth and clear the vomit out. Wow. Or if I hadn't been there, I don't know if he had a choke. on it.
Starting point is 00:57:21 And so he was kind of sick all day yesterday. And so I just let him sleep in the bed last night. And I rarely let him sleep in the bed. But I was afraid I was going to happen to him again. And I wouldn't be there to save his life. That's right. Well, you can chop that down as a save. Oh, like when you were a lifeguard?
Starting point is 00:57:36 Yes. So my dog threw up in the bed again last night. And I was so tired. I slept for like 10 hours last night. But he threw up in the bed at the bottom of the bed. And I was like, well, it's not really touching me. Oh, no. I just loved in the bed.
Starting point is 00:57:49 I woke up this morning. There's a big brown spot to throw up at the bottom of the bed. It wasn't anywhere near where I was laying. And again, I'm single. I live alone. No one shares my bed. So you can sleep and throw up. It's fine.
Starting point is 00:58:01 I slept near throw up of a family member. Right. I'm sure that a lot of moms have dealt with that. I mean, I probably would. If you're tired and you're sleeping and your baby uses the bathroom or whatever. Just let it go. It's fine. I was like I'm so tired.
Starting point is 00:58:16 And I slept for about 11 hours. My dog slept the whole time in the bed. woke up this morning, took him to go to the bathroom, put him in his room, came to work. Everything's going on all right. I told him and said, me and you can have a special Christmas together, just me and you. I told you to bring the dog. I know, and what did I say? He said, well, we need to try that out on a non-holiday.
Starting point is 00:58:33 We need to trial run. Yeah. Like to see if our dogs would be fine. Christmas will be good, though. I cannot wait to sleep in. For those that are new to the show, I started doing mornings when I was 22 years old. So I've been doing it basically for 17 years now. and so I only know a life basically as an adult of waking up at 3.30 in the morning.
Starting point is 00:58:54 So what I look forward to is just sleeping in. I had never had in a normal adulthood where I could just sleep until 7, 8 a.m. It's always been 3.34 in the morning. So for me, as you guys get to go into your families and stuff, I just look forward to sleeping in. So I'm excited about that. And then I went to the Brett Eldridge Christmas show, which Raimundo said it was so good. Right, it was great, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:16 If you got a chick, you can't go solo to it because it's really, really romantic. No, it's great anyway. Don't be hating, because I'll enjoy the show. You don't have to have a check. It's a great show. A lot of the songs I feel are about a guy and a girl at Christmas. No, they're all Christmas standards. All the songs.
Starting point is 00:59:32 So I went to, Brett and I are friends and he's like, hey, you should come to the show if you can, so I went up and watched him perform at the Beacon in New York, and was what met a bunch of listeners. Oh, that's cool. Here was the most common thing said to me, though, at the show, because obviously, if you're at a
Starting point is 00:59:48 Eldridge's show, there's a lot of country music fans there. Right. And so a lot of people either listen to the show or know who I am because they love country music. And so the most common thing said to me was, hey, does anyone ever tell you like Bobby Bones with a beard? I probably got at least five times. Because they didn't expect you to be there, I'm sure.
Starting point is 01:00:06 And they don't expect the whatever this is. The beard, dude, looks good. Whatever this Christmas facial hair pattern is on my face. How do you feel about it? I mean, I like it. Are you liking it? It's not me, really. I know, but you're kind of been hesitant about it.
Starting point is 01:00:24 But I feel like you've gotten to a stage where you're there. Well, I'm here and yesterday we had to shoot some TV stuff with the little either blonde or gray patches. They colored him with a toothbrush. Oh, nice. Oh, that's smart. So did you leave the makeup on? I leave the makeup on anyway, beard or not.
Starting point is 01:00:39 Whenever, if I, when I shoot American Idol and they put makeup on me, I try to go to sleep quietly and still so I can wake up and look pretty the next day too. How many days is that beard? Week and a week and two days? Oh wow. That's pretty full, dude, for that little time. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:53 I can't wait to see what it's going to look like Christmas Day when I see you. Ooh. You look like Chris Stapleton when you wake up. Yeah. The Brett Eldridge show is great, though. He has a full orchestra with him. So like eight horns, a big, boom, boom, stand-up bass, a band leader, you know, that does his hands.
Starting point is 01:01:13 Like a conductor. Yeah. And he has all those squares. the people sit behind. Oh, yeah. You know, like, if you see, like, an old Frank Sinatra show and they have, they sit behind the big boxes. Oh, yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:22 For sound. So it was really good. And, you know, he's done, Oh, Holy Night on this show before. And he pretty much shuts the theater down with, oh, holy night. And then was it? Then went, went to a little bit after the show and got out of there. But Ray said he saw, like, past relatives when he went. Did you see anything?
Starting point is 01:01:38 Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Ray said he saw, what you say, the ghost of your great grandmother? Yeah, just because they, I believe they turn all the lights off. And there's only three lights during a couple of those songs where it's really quiet, you really get to think and feel stuff. I thought I saw Heath Ledger. Okay, but I mean.
Starting point is 01:01:54 I mean, he did die in New York. I mean, when did you think of that? Like just now. Right then. And then when I said it, I was like, I didn't. Yeah. Oh, you didn't. Is what you're saying.
Starting point is 01:02:07 No, he didn't see Ledger. I didn't see Heath Ledger. I know. But you didn't feel like a connection with your mom or your grandma or something? No, it's Christmas music and it's Brett Eldridge. I didn't feel a connection with any past relatives. I'm glad you did, though, because your great-grandmother loved one of those songs. Yeah, absolutely, it was O Holy Night, yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:27 Where I don't think you actually, I don't know you didn't, but I think it probably rekindled something in you about her, and because of that feeling, you probably felt her more so than you actually saw the literal ghost of her on stage, which is what you say you saw. Correct. And it could be the best the song's ever been sung before. I mean, so you're really hearing the true way that song is supposed to be sung. There's not crazy instruments.
Starting point is 01:02:51 It's literally just Brett singing a song, nothing else. Not true, but he does have instruments. I thought he did. Not entirely factual. I get what you're coming from. But it's not really exactly true. During that song, does he shut his band down? For a second, it's a copelisk for just a second.
Starting point is 01:03:12 Like when he starts, like, oh. No, there's like a break in it. Or then he goes, Ha! And then it comes. Is that when you saw her, though? I think right after the start, when he went Acapel, I blacked out. You blacked out.
Starting point is 01:03:26 That's why he doesn't remember exactly how it was sung. How many white claws did you have before the Brett Eldridge show? Den and drink. Just emotions. Ten and drink. I don't know what to believe. You can check out. By the way, Brett Eldridge's Christmas album, Glow is great.
Starting point is 01:03:43 It may be the best Christmas album. It's fantastic. Casey Musgraves has a great Christmas album. Fred Eldridge has one. I think Trisha has one. George Strait has one. Yeah, they're like good ones. They all do. But George's is good.
Starting point is 01:03:56 Garth is good, too. It's an old one, but a goodie. Now we're just listing our artists. Myrard's a favorite artist. John Mayer's got one. Does he? No. He should.
Starting point is 01:04:05 No, ours are real. Okay. Morgan number two, how do you feel about my beard situation right now? I think it looks good. Not convinced Go ahead It looks good sometimes What does that mean?
Starting point is 01:04:20 Like you posted some pictures yesterday and they looked really good Because I had a bunch of makeup put on me Yeah Yeah Okay So what if I'm like Well listen you look really good And you're like what's the difference
Starting point is 01:04:30 I'm like well when you have makeup on it Oh I didn't know I just thought you posted a picture It's not like you said hey I had makeup on I just thought it was a good picture Now you know how girls feel sometimes I already know how girls feel sometimes
Starting point is 01:04:41 When we walk in without our makeup and people are like, whoa. Who are you? You're like, oh, are you tired or what's wrong with you today? And it's like, oh, great. You guys can call us if you want. We'd love to hear from you. 87777 Bobby, 8777 Bobby.
Starting point is 01:04:58 Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bones. So I was on the Forbes Instagram page last night, and they had a whole list of the highest paid YouTubers, which I'm always so interested by because I don't know any of the YouTube kids. or people, but that doesn't mean they're not making a ton of money. It's just, they don't watch YouTube for my content unless it's like somebody falling or funny stuff.
Starting point is 01:05:28 Or you're trying to learn something. Or bloopers. Or, yeah, or that. So here we go. Number seven, Mark Fishbach, Mark Player, made 13 million bucks. That's the number seven. Crazy. PewDie Pie made 13 million.
Starting point is 01:05:43 I'm going to move on up to the top three, though. At third was this five-year-old named Anastasia, who earned $18 million. She, five years old, made $18 million on YouTube. The guys from Dude Perfect who do all the trick shots. Oh, yeah. They made $20 million at number two.
Starting point is 01:06:00 One of those guys listens to the show. Which one? The dude or perfect? I don't know which one. And then finally, the kid who does the toy reviews. Ryan? Ryan made $26 million. He's eight.
Starting point is 01:06:17 That's so crazy. Ryan Kaji. Ryan also has a Christmas present. It's like a box of stuff that Ryan's put together for you that you can buy that we bought for my kids. Oh, so you bought my stuff. Wow. So his Ryan's World Channel made $26 million. That is insane.
Starting point is 01:06:38 Crazy. Hey, good for them, though. If they're making it. Yeah. And their parents. It's got to be a lot of work on their end. That's what they do. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:48 I know. My daughter is even, she wants to make it. watch of some of these kids and she's like, mom, can we do stuff like this? And I see, yeah, if you want to figure it out and you have the time to do all that, yes, because you know these little kids, that's their parents that had time to figure that out. I wonder how the parents drop a contract with the five-year-old. We're going to take 99%. So what we have pulled here are the top 10 Bobby Bones show searches of 2019. Okay. What people have searched for. And you can just look it up and see. And number 10 is Bobby Bones.
Starting point is 01:07:20 Bones is a real name. Bobby is my real first name. Bones is not my real last name. And number nine, who is Bobby Bones dating? It's a good one. So, who is Bobby Bones dating? Good luck. What comes up in that search?
Starting point is 01:07:34 I look up the same thing. Oh. Who am I dating? Wait, please see? Yeah. At number eight, Bobby Bones' new dog. Looking for pictures of Stanley.
Starting point is 01:07:45 Now, we did have Bobby Bones dating, but now we have number seven. Who is Bobby Bones' girlfriend? Different question. Two of the top 10 are about my love life. At number six, what is Bobby Bones or Amy's paycheck amount? What? Don't know how much money we make. Let them know, guys.
Starting point is 01:08:05 They're different. Excuse me? Guys, save them the search. Go ahead and tell them. Okay, guy. At number five, Bobby Bones' Barragil's episode date. Number four, the raging idiot song Jesus knows. Bobby Bones, Jesus knows.
Starting point is 01:08:23 I feel like when you say that, you should tell us the air date to remind everybody. Oh. Hold on, Amy. Sorry, we're listening to Jesus knows by the raging idiots. Bear Grills is, you know, it's actually written here, too, January 14th. Okay. Number three, Bobby Bones Show Celebrity Family Feud episode. Number two, old folks home from Bobby Bones, which is a raging game of that song.
Starting point is 01:08:47 And then number one is because of the viral video, the Get Up, Bobby Bone's doing The Get Up. So, yeah. I got like 10 million views this year. Who are you doing that with? Me, Blanco, and Kaylee Hammock. Gately Hammack. At my house. Take a sip.
Starting point is 01:09:17 To the left, to the left. You're thinking about telling them? What? Answering some of those questions? I just did. Oh. Most of them. Put it on your side.
Starting point is 01:09:26 You were looking at that sheet of paper, I don't know what you're doing. No, I just got handed an email from a mailbag. And so I was kind of reading over it. Hey, Ramon, do hit me with a mailback here. I'll read this now. Here we go. Bobby's Mailbag. Hey, Bobby Bowens, me and my girl have this male friend that we've known for a few years.
Starting point is 01:09:43 We usually all talk over a group chat of three or more people. I recently started noticing she's been messaged him a lot lately. They've never really messaged each other privately until now. It's been going on for about a month. Every time I see her texting, she's usually messaging him. I'm constantly working, so I don't get to talk with her for very long. because I'm working or sleeping, should I be worried. I'm going a little crazy at the moment.
Starting point is 01:10:07 Any advice? Oh, no. That's the email I just got. I was kind of... Well, if they're on group texts together, why'd they take it offline to their own? I know. What do you say?
Starting point is 01:10:19 It's a little weird. It's definitely a little weird that they're going to remove him, even if it's a one-on-one. By the way, if this is his friend and he's doing that with his girl, that's not cool by that dude. If it's his friend. It's obviously a mutual. friend. Maybe they were friends altogether. Never was his. I guess it comes down to this for me.
Starting point is 01:10:38 Is she trying to hide it or not? Right. Because if she's doing it right there, like, you know they're talking. It's like if you, me and my husband are on a group chat and then you and I are texting side. It's fine. It's fine. I think that's a bit different. I know we work together. You and I are like closer. I don't. Sorry I'm just trying. This is what I'm going to say. This is what I'm going to say to this. By the way, jealousy is not a good look on anybody. ever. So if you run out and you're the jealous person, you're like, I can't believe, you need to see if she's trying to hide it or not.
Starting point is 01:11:10 If she's being open about it, not a big deal. If he's being open about it, not a big deal. But man, it's, that just gets dangerous when you're doing things away from your significant other. And what do you say at the end there? He's not in a good place with it. They're always naked in their pictures. Oh, no, they didn't say that? No.
Starting point is 01:11:28 I was like, did it say that? No, it didn't. Should I be worried? I'm going to say you shouldn't be worried, but you should, if it's bothering you as a general rule in this situation or any other, if something's bothering you, you should express it. Hey, it bothers me that I'm not in the group chat with you guys anymore. And don't position it as a jealousy thing. Say, hey, what happened? I like to be involved in things. I'm working all day. I like to have some text to look at. So why am I not? Can I get back in the group chat? What I often say is, I like to laugh,
Starting point is 01:11:55 when people are having jokes around me? Oh, man, because what if, what if they're like planning something for him or? Probably not. But it's been happening for like a month. Okay. I'm going to say it doesn't feel good right now, but you need, instead of freaking out about it, you just need to ask a couple questions. Like, hey, can I get back in this group chat? Yeah. What's happening with you too? And if they start to be weird about it, then it's time to feel weird about it. There's any weirdness. But jealousy's not a good look ever. So that's my final judgment. Ask questions. Say you don't like how it makes you feel, is there something going on? Not something going on because you start being, you know, accusatory
Starting point is 01:12:30 as well, not good. Just say, hey, what happens to the group chat? I want to be in it. Then they start acting weird or they start hiding it after that, then you got a problem. How do you feel about that? I feel about that. I feel like that's good advice. Yeah, I feel like that advice too. You know why?
Starting point is 01:12:44 Why? Because I gave it. All right, that's the mailbag. Thank you very much. And that was Bobby's Mailbag. The Bobby Bones Show. On a phone is Kimmy and Tampa, who's called regarding that last mailbag. Hey, Kimmy, you heard me talk about that.
Starting point is 01:13:00 where, you know, there's three of them in a group text, and then two of them pull themselves out and are talking amongst each other. What do you think about that? Yeah, hi. So I'm a first-time caller in a long-time listener. I'm super excited. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:13:14 But yeah, maybe because it's holiday time, maybe they're trying to plan like a surprise for him together. So maybe it's something good that they're doing. Maybe. Amy brought that up too. But it's been going on for about a month. And now I've planned surprises. It doesn't take that long? It takes about three days.
Starting point is 01:13:33 With the occasional text. You're right, though. It could actually be for something that is just so positive and loving. But that's why you should express, hey, I feel a little uncomfortable about this. And not go, what are you doing cheating on me? You know what I'm saying, Kimmy? I understand. Maybe wait until after the holidays, don't see what happens.
Starting point is 01:13:55 You'll probably go out of right now. It doesn't bother you. If you have a splutter in your finger, don't let it fester. Because then it gets worse. Go ahead and dig it out. Yeah. Okay. Kimmy, thank you.
Starting point is 01:14:04 Hope you have a great Christmas. Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Bye-bye. Let me say this right now. We have a sweepstakes going on. Starting point is 01:14:50 That's what it is then. Yes. Their 13th, Morgan? But yeah, go in. It's a $10 donation. And then it's like a raffle ticket. And then we draw, I don't draw. But they draw.
Starting point is 01:15:00 And then that person, we fly here, pay for all of it. So it's a really cool thing. Round trip, air for hotel accommodations. And again, playing with us is Brooks and Dunn and Kane Brown and Brett Young and lots of surprises. So it'd be pretty cool. So good. Yeah. Ro, it's the Bobby Bone Show Morgan number two is telling me this story about Adam Driver, that's his name right, from Star Wars? Yeah. But it's not, okay, we're going to do a, what,
Starting point is 01:19:14 26-year-olds care about? Because I felt like this is pretty good. Adam Driver was doing a radio interview with NPR, and they played a clip of, like, his recent work in a marriage story on Netflix. Okay, I've seen that movie pop up, a marriage story. With, um... Oh, who's the girl?
Starting point is 01:19:34 Scarlet Jones. Yes. And so, why was this a weird radio interview? Well, so it wasn't weird, but he's said publicly so many times that he does not like to hear or watch or even have knowledge of like his acting or singing or anything. He just doesn't want to see it. And so this guy who he's done interviews with, he started to play it. And Adam Driver just got up, walked out, didn't come back. I was like, I don't want to hear this.
Starting point is 01:20:03 I don't want to hear myself back in the movie. And so he didn't come back into the interview at all? No, and they never aired it or anything. And, like, people online were really defending him because he said online, it's like a phobia-like thing for him that he doesn't want to listen or watch things back. I feel like most everybody else does, that's with me. It's not me. I don't want to hear me.
Starting point is 01:20:23 They don't want to hear me back either. They don't. They don't, yeah, yeah. We don't have an interview because it never aired. Oh, wow. This is him singing. That's fine. That's what he didn't like to.
Starting point is 01:20:36 That was the clip they played that he didn't like to hear. But he doesn't even like, like, in the Star Wars thing, there's rumors that he, like, walked out of the screening. Like, he just doesn't like to see himself in movies, whether it's acting and singing anything. He just doesn't like to watch it. Well, I think that's one. If he wants to walk out, he can't. We've had people walk out of interviews with us before. Yes, we have.
Starting point is 01:20:56 And we've kind of bounced back with them. But I tell you, did I kick Wendy Williams out or did she leave on her own? I think with Wendy Williams. No, we didn't bounce back with her. Yeah, she was right. Wendy Williams is awful. Like as a person, not good. And her husband was there like
Starting point is 01:21:11 She was trying to beat me up. Wendy Williams came in and I did an interview with her and Wendy Williams was a radio personality and I asked her about some of her old radio work because she was doing hip-hop and asked her about Tupac and she was like, I did not come here to answer that question. And I was like, oh well I thought it was interesting about
Starting point is 01:21:30 and she was like, you'll never be me, Bobby Bones. This is seven or eight years ago. Did she even say like you'll never be Wendy Williams or something? Whatever it was. And I was like, all right, we're done here. And I shut the interview down. Too much. And she left and her husband waited out to the door to beat me up. What? And being the man that I am, I hid and went out the back.
Starting point is 01:21:49 Yeah, that's a weird one. We've had artists to walk out before. But I think a bit they just didn't know that our style was a little more loose than these interviews. They go where they're like, oh, everybody, welcome to the cell. You know, we just don't do that. We kind of hang out as friends. And with friends sometimes, you poke and they put. hook back. Oh, I've walked out before.
Starting point is 01:22:09 Yeah. So, that stinks that had to happen. Yeah. But he had every right to walk out. Yeah, I agree. And people online were really quick to his defense. There was obviously some trolls online being like, why did he walk out? But it's a phobia thing for him.
Starting point is 01:22:24 And again, he's volunteering his time. He can walk out if he wants to walk out. Right. If someone comes in as like our interview style, they can walk out. They have before. And they probably will again. So, anyway, that's what 26-year-olds care about. I thought it was interesting.
Starting point is 01:22:43 Why are you looking at me like that for? I was just thinking about some of our interviews. Yeah. I now have a favorite interviewee of all time, which is Jake Owen. Has you walked out? No. He's gotten close. Has he hung up?
Starting point is 01:22:54 He's gotten close a few times, I think. Once on an old Bobby cast, we got into a big fight. Oh, that's the best. But I think that's what makes him the best. He's not going to walk out. He'll also give it back to you. So that's kind of... Yeah, and it gets...
Starting point is 01:23:08 Yes. And that's why he's my favorite guest. It's not because we go back and forth. That happens very rarely. But he's just a good human guest. Yeah. Halfrey's feeling, he tells you. Did he cut his hair?
Starting point is 01:23:20 I saw an Instagram store where Jake Owen had clippers on his head. I know. Because he was growing it out. And you, would you say you liked it or you didn't like it? I did like where it was now. I feel like that was one of the reasons why he might have walked out or he wanted to walk out one time. But we weren't making fun of his hair. We were like, I like, I like your hair.
Starting point is 01:23:37 And he's like, dude, what are you talking about my hair? Do you not like it? And I was like, no, I just said I like it. B-O-B-Y. Bones. The government has issued new warnings about Mexico. A lot of these vacation spots, they say, hey, don't go. Don't take taxis.
Starting point is 01:23:55 Don't travel at night. There are kidnappings. Don't go. Crazy. Everything getting ruined for us that want to travel. You know, I don't know that it's mostly for us. Not us, but it's just like, ugh. I mean, it's just a bummer.
Starting point is 01:24:09 These areas are having a lot of. crime, a lot of trouble. And so they're like, don't go because the areas are struggling. These people are getting killed all over the place down there. So don't go take your vacations there. So if you can't go somewhere and go out at night, do you even want to go? No. There are a lot of places all over the world. I know, but I think about, well, so for our honeymoon, we went to Zawatinejo, which is in Mexico. And it's so awesome. And one day I would like to go back there, but we just continuously keep getting reports that it's getting scary and scarier. Like our,
Starting point is 01:24:40 our wedding anniversary is coming up. Continually. If I get one report that it might be scary, I'm not going. Right. I know. But now I'm like, well, I guess we won't ever get to go back to our honeymoon spot. Great. It's a bummer. It is. Well, one of these, they're like, hey, if you go, you should always text your friend wherever you are all the time, someone that's not with you. I mean, that just seems like, yeah, if you're going somewhere, you're paranoid and stressed all the time. No, I don't want to go. I don't want to go. I don't like to leave my house.
Starting point is 01:25:09 You want to go to Iraq for your birthday? I have a friend that's in Hawaii right now. And when she goes hiking by herself, I was like, you need to send somebody and text them where you are. Because Hawaii, you're not going to get lost. You're not going to get murdered. But if you're out hiking by yourself, you should always let somebody know where you are just in case. Yeah, that happens. I do that everywhere I go.
Starting point is 01:25:29 Even like Chick-fil-A, I text Eddie. I'm here. Even though I'm with people, I just want him to know case something goes wrong. Just in case. Just in case. We'll do a 60-second show down in a second if someone wants to hop on. 100 bucks in my own cash. What's our theme?
Starting point is 01:25:39 We have one left, Mike. What is it? TV shows of the decade. You can do 10 of those questions in 60 seconds. I'll give you 100 bucks. Also, we'll come back. You've got the best news bloopers of 2019. Nice.
Starting point is 01:25:51 Which are so funny. Always. So funny. We'll do both of those next. Did you know you can text us? Text Bobby. That's 26229 to send us a message. The message and debtor rates may apply.
Starting point is 01:26:02 The Bobby Bown show. Let's do our what's the haps. Final what's the haps of the year. No, not. What's the abs? What is the segment called? Oh, the six-second showdown. We got so many segments on it. I was like, what? Okay.
Starting point is 01:26:24 Sorry, 60-second showdown. Thank you. Let's go over. Why don't we play with Chris in Ohio, who's been sitting on the phone? Chris, how are you? I'm good. How are you? I'm pretty good. Would you like to play the 60-second showdown? I would love to. First, I would say, morning studio.
Starting point is 01:26:41 Morning. If you get all 10 of these right, you win $100 in cash. And it's my money. Do you know why it's my money? because the station won't give you any money. That's right. I got to use more money for prizes. What kind of operation is this?
Starting point is 01:26:55 Okay, are you ready to play? TV shows of the decade. You have 60 seconds. If you get all them right, you win. Remember, you can pass and come back to it, okay? Okay. All right. Here we go.
Starting point is 01:27:06 The timer starts at the end of the first question. Question one. Better Call Saul is a spinoff of what popular show? Breaking Bad. Correct. Orange is the new black. Take place in what location? Uh, prison?
Starting point is 01:27:21 Correct. The Lannisters and Starks are from what TV show? Game with Thrones. Correct. Who played Olivia Pope in Scandal? Pass. What Fox singing competition has celebrities and costumes to conceal their identities? Mass singer.
Starting point is 01:27:37 Correct. What actress plays 11 in Stranger Things? Pass. What Netflix show is about a Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar? Pass. What streaming service would you find The Handmaid's Tale? Correct. Candice Cameron Barre started a Netflix reboot of what 90s sitcom?
Starting point is 01:27:58 Growing pain. Incorrect. What new 2017 TV sitcom is a prequel to the Big Bang Theory? Oh, back to the top. Who played Olivia Pope and scandal? You got through them? Yeah, that's it. Dang it.
Starting point is 01:28:19 Yeah. So Breaking Bad is Better Call Saw. Yeah. Orange is the New Black takes place in prison. The Lannisters and Stark's from Game of Thrones. Carrie Washington, which you knew. Chris had it, you knew it. I thought of it after we went on.
Starting point is 01:28:33 The Masked Singer, which, by the way, we won't spoil it, but the finale was last night, huh? Millie Bobby Brown plays 11 in Stranger Things. I would never get that one. Narcos is Pablo Escobar. Hulu, you got that, which is the handmade sale. Candice Cameron Beret. You said Growing Pains, it's full house.
Starting point is 01:28:53 Yeah. Yeah. And then the Big Bang Theory. prequel is called from Sheldon. Young Sheldon. You did okay. You did okay.
Starting point is 01:29:05 I felt like you knew, I think the time got you. I feel like you could have got them all, though. Yeah, maybe. Well, anything you'd like to say, Chris? This is your moment. This is the sun here. No, happy holidays. You guys make my days wonderful.
Starting point is 01:29:19 I love it. I love listening. Well, thank you very much. I hope we have an awesome holiday to all of them. Oh, Christmas is great. New Year's, if it's Hanukkah, and let's a throwback to Thanksgiving, Halloween even, retro, happy holidays. Chris, thank you. Have a good day, okay. All right, thanks.
Starting point is 01:29:38 All right, bye-bye. You want to go through the best news bloopers of 2019? Yeah, let's do it. They put out some of the best news bloopers of the year. Here's the funniest ones. Let's do the best six. And you know what's funny about number six is that I think Ray Mundo says the same thing. Mundo, do you say instead of boatload of stuff, what do you say?
Starting point is 01:29:58 A buttload. Like, he thinks it's actually buttload instead of boatload. Like, if you say there's a boatload of stuff, it's not buttload, it's boatload. Oh. And this guy keeps saying buttload on the news instead of boatload. Coho is back arriving from Port Angeles with another boatload of, a buttload of tourists. There you go. But he said accidentally, Raymundo thinks it's the real unit of measurement.
Starting point is 01:30:28 We got two buttloads outside, Bobby. That's what it is. If something's really full, it's a buttload. Yeah. It's a boat load. And people have said buttload because they think that's what it is. Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:38 Okay. Number six, you're supposed to say fed up, but the reporter was reading it wrong. And instead of fed up, they say, here you go. The roads in Susquehanna County have people effed up. Fed up. Sorry, PennD. I held a form tonight for residents to explain what's next. Because FED Fed.
Starting point is 01:30:58 It's kind of really the same way. But if you put an apostrophe in there, it looks like effed up. That's number five. Number four here. This anchor breaks when he's talking about a story of a guy who told people who was going to blow up a restroom. But because when he says he's going to blow up a restroom, he means number two. So it's a woman anchor. And she's talking about the guy was going to blow up the restroom.
Starting point is 01:31:19 But what he really meant was he was going to blow it up, like, not with a bomb. Number two. Yeah, here you go. That man told police, he warned other guests to leave their. restroom because he was, quote, fixing to blow it up but had no intention of causing a panic. Man also told police others in the room laughed, understanding his joke, which I'm just not getting. Hope Depot says, we're going to have to go to a commercial. No, we're going to get it.
Starting point is 01:31:46 We're going to get it. So that's also just a funny story where people think it's a bomb, but it's like, no, I'm blowing this up. I'm fixing to blow this up. Number three, the thing that was supposed to be. said the report's supposed to say we had six. Oh, gosh. But instead of saying we had six, you have to be really careful out there.
Starting point is 01:32:04 You do? We've had six, six rather, consecutive days of... Did I just... Okay. All right. That was a Freudian slip, but we're going to pretend like we didn't hear it. Okay. Funny, huh? Okay, now, Amy, let me ask you this. This is the number two clip I have here. Instead of doggy paddle, the report was talking about doggy paddle.
Starting point is 01:32:24 What do you think they said? Doggy style. That really? You thought of that? The dog in Thailand is certainly giving new meaning to the phrase doggy paddle, excuse me. He was found swimming 135 miles off the shore of Thailand. Like that again. The dog in Thailand is certainly giving new meaning to the phrase doggy stop. Doggy paddle, excuse me, he was found swimming 135 miles off the shore of Thailand.
Starting point is 01:32:47 The word style. I'm not even writing up there. Funny. And here's the clip I've put in number one. A guy gets behind a reporter and starts repeating what he says. It's just, it's such a fine. It's so elementary. Stop.
Starting point is 01:33:02 Stop. Okay, Stevenson. You're like five. You're like five. Okay, but that's what he does here. Where there may be some concern. He had a 12,000 majority here. 12,000.
Starting point is 01:33:13 It's now down to 5,000. Five thousand. Some people think it won't happen again. It won't happen again. Thanks very much, Tim. Lots of people trying to get in on the act there. That's really funny. That's amazing, huh?
Starting point is 01:33:26 Number one. Holy crap, man. $5,000. Funny, funny. Yeah. Good, I'm glad we got to that. I have all this stuff that I want to get to before. I want to get to.
Starting point is 01:33:35 Okay. Okay, Stevenson. Okay. Okay. Okay, Stevenson. Okay, is there anything else? Are we good? We're good for now?
Starting point is 01:33:43 We're good. Okay, hop over to bobbybones.com and get in our sweepstakes. For a $10 donation to St. Jude, you could win this trip to Nashville. Starting point is 01:37:55 This guy in California set a record for eating at Chick-fil-A for 114 days in a row. Oh, wow. I felt like I could beat that. Totally. Because also, it's only six days a week because they're not open on Sunday. Oh, good point. You got a day off. And Chick-fil-A's good, and you can eat healthy at Chick-fil-A.
Starting point is 01:38:21 It's not like when someone goes, you know what I ate at Brahms for 400 days. That's ice cream and a burger. And that's really good, but it's hard to not gain weight there. Amanda set a new record for eating Chick-fil-A the most consecutive days in a row. Mark Mendenh. Hall was a regular at the Carmel Mountain Ranch Chick-fil-A. They dubbed him the mayor of Chick-Fillay. Wow.
Starting point is 01:38:42 100 days in a row, that was his goal. Then he was like, oh, I could beat the record. I feel like I could beat the record at 1-4. I'm not going to. Oh. Sounds like you want to that. I know, but it's not even a whole year. These restaurants are open on Christmas, so this is where I'll be going.
Starting point is 01:38:56 Oh, man. Applebee's, Boston Market, Bucca de Pepo, Denny's, and Waffle House. Ooh, Waffle House. If you've already spent time wrapping presents dealing with squealing kids or playing host to extend a family, why not break from the kitchen duty? Yeah. Where can we find you? Well, of those, let me see. Best shot probably Waffle House.
Starting point is 01:39:20 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. At the bar? We can all go there. Maybe I'd do Denny's for breakfast. Oh. Applebee's for lunch. Waffle House for dinner. There you go.
Starting point is 01:39:33 Maybe that's what I'd do on Christmas. Maybe I'd be the mayor of Waffle House. I do that. Oh gosh, every day of the year. I wonder how many times you have to go. Poor? That's it. Lord of the Rings on Amazon Prime is looking to cast people who are super hairy because they need
Starting point is 01:39:48 to play orcs. And lunchbox is trying to get into acting, I know. This is you. I mean, if they want me, I'll do it. I mean, I got some hair coming out of my armpits that, I mean, it'll put anybody to shame. They have an unusual request for hairy, hairy people. So they're looking for people in this trilogy. Is it a prequel?
Starting point is 01:40:09 It's a prequel show. I bet they're spending a lot of money on that one. Do you see the people in the morning show that on Amazon Apple Plus? Apple Plus. Rees Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston. They make a million dollars in episode. It's good. That's crazy, though.
Starting point is 01:40:24 Yeah, because they needed to really have a show to base all their other shows on like a big one. So they overpaid them obviously. Yeah. But they did it so they would have something to go. This is how good our sister? A million bucks an episode. Wow. I still haven't seen it.
Starting point is 01:40:36 Maybe I'd do that on Christmas Day as I'm bouncing between restaurants. In between. You could just binge it, watch them all. A woman of Florida was upset. She took her dog to the groomer and they shaved him. It was a big old fluffy dog and you came back like Mr. Burns. Oh, no. Was it a mix-up or something?
Starting point is 01:40:51 That's not cool. She went to collect him and was like, no, that's not my dog. And they're like, oh, yeah, it is. They do look so different. If, like, my dog has a lot of hair and when we shave her, it's like my kids are scared of her. Yeah, your dog looks weird shape because it's a big curly hair. Right. A former sheriff's deputy in Wisconsin
Starting point is 01:41:08 has been charged for breaking into people's homes while they're at funerals. No, no, no, no. That is so low. Hit them when they're down? Stinks, huh? Yeah. A former sheriff's deputy has been charged
Starting point is 01:41:21 with burglarizing and trying to burglarize homes of people who are away at funerals and covering, by the way, her tracks with stories of trying to complete Facebook market transactions. Oh, no. So trying to have an alibi at the same time. And then finally, two teenagers in Pennsylvania arrested after they covered two cars
Starting point is 01:41:38 and a home in slices of cheese. Like completely covered it in cheese. Okay. Is that funny? That's funny, but yeah. I'm on Instagram, Mr. Bobby Bones, M.R. Bobby Bones. Take a second. You can follow me over there. Posted a couple pictures from my upcoming episode
Starting point is 01:41:52 of Bear Grills, Mr. Bobby Bones. Oh, shit. Bobby Bones show. So there's a three-year-old who has cost their parents a lot of money at an Audi dealership. The child managed to scratch number of cars inside the showroom.
Starting point is 01:42:13 Oh, no. With? The dealership demanded $28,000 from the parents' compensation. They settled on the number $10,025. And so the whole story is maybe leave your kids at home before you head over to a high-end dealership. The child used a small stone. No. To draw on the fresh paint and sheet metal of these brand-new odys.
Starting point is 01:42:33 Wow. Over $20,000 worth of damage. That is such a bummer. I get it, though. Yeah. You get what? Like, kids do that. parents have no control.
Starting point is 01:42:43 But shouldn't they have control? They should, but if you're looking at cars and your kid wanders off with a rock and starts to rush. But it's the parents' fault, though, right? Yes, of course. Your kid shouldn't be loose in a showroom. I was in the airport today, and some mom let her two-year-old kid just run through the airport. She was getting, like, a water at one of those little kiosks, and her kid runs off.
Starting point is 01:43:02 And she's like, oh, it's fine. And I watched this kid just run through the airport, two, maximum two. Run to the airport. It was like playing with all over, like seven layers deep of people. Oh. And then the mom would look back and check. And then finally she was like, fine. And she pays for her stuff and then go and swoops her up.
Starting point is 01:43:18 But I was like, wow, that's some free-range parenting right there at the airport. Free-range mom. And there were people everywhere. But yeah, so anyway, they owed $28,000, but the dealership's going to make them pay $10. They've agreed to that. That's what's up. Amy, what's up today with you? Oh, I just got some stuff to do with my dad and a workout.
Starting point is 01:43:37 What's up with him? He's doing a lot better. But I just have to manage. some of his medications that he has to take. So I drive over there and just make sure that he's good or if he needs any help with anything. And as long as I see him like once a day, I feel good about it and that his pills are in order.
Starting point is 01:43:54 Because, I mean, I went over, he's supposed to be, this might be TMI. But like, when you're supposed to be going to the bathroom and he's tired of going the bathroom, but he's taking medicine to make himself go to the bathroom, but he got tired of it. So he decided to pour a bunch of ammonium in his tube, his feeding tube, which negates the,
Starting point is 01:44:11 process. It equals it out. It equals it out. So I have to, I just feel like I have to babysit him because he tries to be a rebel. Well, he had to babysit you at one point. That, yeah. Yeah, that's what I say sometimes. But he also chose to bring you in the world. You didn't choose. Yeah, but I don't mind caring for him. I just have to like get onto him like a child sometimes. And I feel bad about that. What about you? I'm going to shoot a bunch of stuff with IBM today about the Grammys that are coming up. I'm shooting a bunch of pre-grammy stuff with them. So I have about a six hour shoot today. And so I don't really know, except I'll go and have like five outfits after wear.
Starting point is 01:44:48 Oh. I think it's a digital campaign for the Grammys coming up. So I'm going to go and do that today. Well, that's cool. Yeah. And they were like, hey, who do you want to work with? So I have Cassidy Pope coming to work and we're going to do it together. Oh, that's great.
Starting point is 01:44:59 And there's one point where we're like, we have to change into our Grammy's outfits. Mm-hmm. Like formal? Yeah. So. Oh, yeah. So you're going the Grammys? No.
Starting point is 01:45:07 I'm doing it, I'm doing it digitally today. Nobody knows that. Yeah. Yeah, I'm doing it today for like six hours. Okay, okay, okay. So I'm going to do that. We'll see it tomorrow. Tomorrow on the show, Steve Mokler will be in.
Starting point is 01:45:17 He'll perform as we do our Blue Christmas Gift Exchange, which is tomorrow. Oh, that's awesome. So did you not know that? I knew he was coming, but I didn't know, I knew he was performing, but I didn't know it was during our gift exchange. He's going to be here for like an hour and play randomly. Yeah. Yeah, tomorrow is the final show, the Christmas show for us, Blue Christmas.
Starting point is 01:45:31 Have a great day. I'm on Instagram, Mr. Bobby Bones. Goodbye, everybody. Bobby Bones.
