Is she on camera? Yeah, she's on. So, um, Tell our listeners who you are and what you do. Okay. So I'm from Boston, Massachusetts, and I work at 101.7 The Bull.

So you guys kill it every morning on the Bull, horns up Boston. So I do the night show in Boston, and I'm also on a lot of other stations, thanks to IHard Country. So are you here for CMAs tonight? For CMAs and back tomorrow and it's freezing in Nashville. Yeah, it's cool. It's going on. It sucks. It's stupid. Weather's stupid. It's dumb.

Like I come in mad. Yeah. And there's no, it can't do any. to me, like it didn't do anything to me that's not doing to everybody else, but I come in mad, and Amy has to deal with me in the morning and I'm like, dude, stupid sucks. And yesterday, everything

was going wrong. It's one of those days where my car was iced. Mike D. didn't have his phone and I'd send him notes like 20 minutes before. And I was like, hey, I need this. He goes, oh, I just got my phone. Everything that could have happened all at once was all happened. And Amy's like, she made like a little comment like,

ooh, I don't want to be around you today. but she's about the only one that can say that without me being like but yeah it's cold my point is you're right not as cold in Boston though it will be though it's gonna be good

so what are you going to the award show tonight so yeah I'll be there later I'm excited what are you wearing a white dress thank God it has long sleeves because it's freezing a white dress like a wedding dress yeah yeah

a literal wedding dress we are getting dressed up and going tonight Amy is my date tonight to the CMA Awards. And we have to leave, though, at 4.15-ish-ish-from-my house? Because I have to, well, here's the thing. I have to walk the right carpet. Not in a bad way, but I'm saying, I have to walk the right carpet.

We had to juggle the times for me to go do the interviews and then for us to awesomely get to accept our CMA award. So we do the Ray Carpet, then we do the CMA Award, then I'll do a couple other interview things. And obviously, I could be on the show tonight. but it's early so Amy's going to be at my house and get dressed

Everybody's got hair and makeup at the same time Yeah I mean different people I'm not doing hair But you're doing makeup No hair needed over here Well yeah Amy will wear makeup Anyway and after wear makeup for TV

TV yes obviously Yeah Yeah yeah yeah Although I'm telling you I wear it so much from doing American Idol that I'll do like three or four days in a row Then I don't wear it the next day I'm like, I'm ugly.

Oh, wow. Yeah. Don't feel that way about yourself. Yeah, but women should work on not feeling that way about themselves. We should. Sometimes it is when you're used to wearing a lot and then you wake up in the morning, you're like, what just happened? What? Or you're out one night, like tonight, it's the Maze.

And you get home and you'll take everything off and be like, midnight came and I turned into a pumpkin. I don't take it off. That's the thing. I leave it on for the next day. So yeah, you don't. And I try to leave my hair done. Yeah. We have to wash our face every night.

That's the number one rule of being a woman. Yeah, well, I'm not there yet. Okay. I don't even have a skincare routine. Yeah, well, it's the number one rule of being a woman. I do nothing. Wash your face. Go home.

I pet my dog. And that's, by the way, I'll update you guys on my dog. I didn't talk about this on the show, so it won't be on. But my dog had his second eye surgery yesterday. It's a humongous cone around his head. So he's back in a cone, hates it. But what happened with his first eye surgery was, apparently they stitched up the inside of his eye

because it had blown up this cherry and they stitched it up and apparently the stitch burst and it came back out before it could kind of heal itself into each so he went back in they're not charging me again the dog is just a cannonball running around the house he got a big old cone on his head it's on my Instagram right now you can see him but it's like this

and to watch him try to eat he's like hitting the cone poor guy he can't eat the raw high chew I have to hold it and put it in the cone for him so I was worried about him last night because he has his own room which by the way I put my Stanley picture up in his room

Stanley from the office is in his room and so I had a walker come last night and walk him at 11 the same girl that I've been using just to make sure mostly he wasn't choking on that cone because I went to bed and she texted me he's like all good but anyway dealing with the cone today

I think that's pretty hey Hillary is Hillary in there or is she in the client meeting she had a jump She had to go make a run and get tickets or something. Oh, do you get the CMA tickets? Are they letting it? Here was the situation today, too. Is that I guess you couldn't get away with the tickets because we're working.

And we needed tickets to get into the show. And Hillary's like, and am I calling anybody? And I'm like, hey, I work for the Bi Bone Show. They're like, we don't care. Like, so? You know, so I was like, Hillary, what you do is you call and you say, hey, I'm representing Bobby Bones. And I said, use this bigger word and see if they let you. Represent it.

And she did today, and they were like, yeah, can we get the tickets. Okay. And the trophies, I think, too, huh? I don't know if they have. Trophies are here already? I think trophies, yeah, they said in the email you can pick up the trophies also. Like, instead of shipping them to us later, it's like part of the pickup. Yeah, Eddie, you don't get one.

No, I don't. I guess Hillary can just take your straight turn. Morgan number one. Fair and square. Did you happen to hear that bit? Congrats, yeah, you guys, I'm so happy for you guys. Did you hear the bit when Eddie and Morgan number one happened to compete? I did.

Did you think that was fair? Yeah. So what she was doing? No, the xylophone. Oh, okay. Yeah. She did good with it. Better than my impersonations, though.

I mean, I liked your speech at the end, too. I think that's why I thought, too. I did like it. It was heartfelt. Yeah. And there was a lot of controversy, too, but we don't want to get into all that. No, we don't. And there wasn't.

I went back and listened to it, by the way. Did you? I liked it. People got a little too butt hurt. Okay. It really wasn't a difference maker. I appreciate it that people have my back. It's kind of nice.

Good feeling. I'm hoping you get one, too. I'm hoping they. No, they won't. That's it's gone. Well, they only make four trophies. Yeah. But congrats, guys.

are now moving the cones and just parking in those spots. Oh, my gosh. This is probably a kickback from your reserve sign. Oh. Like, I think it's made... They're like, how many spots can the Bobby Bone Show preserve?

First of all, if they want their own reserve sign, All they got to do is negotiate it. That's it. Everyone starts negotiating parking spots. If they feel like you're worth it, they'll give you a sign. I had to give up a lot of stuff on my last negotiation to get that. Was it worth it? Yeah.

I agree. Because when you're not here, it comes in clutch for me sometimes. Yeah. And so, yeah, of course it's worth it. I'll park down the road and walk up here. Screw that. So, yeah, they're moving it. So like Dan and Shay come up here.

And we've reserved two spots. One for Dan, one for She. They will move the cone. parking. We're going to start towing people, because I say. But Hillary is the one dealing with that. And so she's like, what do I do? And so I said, well, you could put lunchbox on the boot on them. I can do that. But he never does it though. No, no. No. I have been monitoring Bobby Spot. When I'm here, I try to get the boot. We had moved out of that office. And so the boot was missing. I found the boot. Now people will get booted. And I'm ready to send an email to the whole company. Send an email. Do it. I'm doing all email.

And be like, do it. Yeah, send it. All right. And then we'll get the update back in the next couple of days. I'm like, listen, guys, I understand you think you're important. There's plenty of parking in the employee. The downstairs garage. Exactly.

I follow his wife on Instagram. I told you, I went to spend three days with them like five years ago. We stayed in the same, me, him and two other friends stay in the same house for three days at the Masters. Super nice. I was always reading fancy stuff, though. What is he sexiest? Yeah. Interesting. Go ahead. You don't think so? You like more. I mean, out of all the men? Oh my gosh. But I don't, I don't.

I don't think it's just a muscles thing. I think it's like all around. Okay. Yeah, he can sing. He's a, what do you call it, a philanthropist? Important. Good looking guy. I thought you're going to call my dad.

I was like, it's not a hard one. Oh, he's not your type? He got Chrissy Teigen. Yeah, I know. Who would you have put his sexiest man alive? One of the Liams? I think they've gotten it. The Hemsworth?

They're good. No, who's the guy, the Thor guy? Yeah, one of the Hemsworth. That one. I'm okay with John Legend. I bet Blake's got it before. How'd you feel about Blake getting it? It's all right.

All right, let's see. A woman fails her bar exam, but opens up a law firm anyway. How's that possible? Exactly. So then she was arrested. Oh, no. And she got busted for fraud. She's facing serious jail time after pleading guilty to fraud.

Was she representing people? She was doing, like, lawyer or stuff? Did she represent herself in court? I probably can't. A woman in France gave birth on the dance floor of a club. That happened on Monday. Monday. And the good news is the baby gets free admission to the club for life. That's awesome.

Was she going hard at the club? Nine months pregnant? A woman got into the fright of her life when she realized she was going to have to give birth to her baby in the middle of the dance floor. Boy, crazy you go if you're that pregnant, huh? Mm-hmm. To the club. I mean, I'm never in pregnant, I don't know. But, like, that just seems like not when you're that close to giving birth, like being at the club does not seem awesome to me. Genuine ponies on.

That's what I was right? Yeah. Unless you're just trying to like get the baby to come out. So yeah, that's a deal. Let's see. Let's see one more. I'm just looking at stories we didn't get to today. A woman donates a kidney.

Which is cool, right? But she did it because she has three kidneys. Oh, that's awesome. Good for her. Yeah, I mean, what was she going to do with the other one? But it's still pretty incredible. I wonder if she fills off balance or like heavy in one side with three kidneys. your organs are off.

She had complained of pain in her waist and needed to go to the bathroom more often than others. And so one out of 1,500 people have it. Which, by the way... What? That many people have an extra kidney? I know. A high school baseball coach in New Jersey

who told a kid to slide into base is now being sued because the kid shattered his ankle. You're going to have all coaches everywhere telling their kids, hey, just stand up and walk in. Right. If it starts to be a rule

that someone gets hurt based on what the sport requires. Or you can get in trouble. Yeah, like, okay, make the tackle. You make a tackle, you heard your collarbone, you see the coach. It's not cool. Yeah, that's nuts. Taylor Swift album by the end of the year.

That's what they're saying. The rumors are flying around in Nashville. She's recorded a new record, head of the CMAs. There you go. It could be the re-recording, by the way. Let me say that. The re-recording of all over other stuff. No.

Mike D., how do you feel about that? Do you think, what do you, Mike D follows Taylor Swift and Taylor Swift News? I mean she could be re-recording, maybe putting some out. Boy, how about that? She sells our whole catalog. Like, it's all part of that deal, and they buy, and they spent all that money on it, and then all of a sudden she puts out a new one,

they lose so much value in that music. Yeah. Wait, was that just your theory, or did she say that that was going to happen? That's not my theory. It was often, I think she even alluded to that she might. That's right, okay.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's not my theory. I was like, because that's a really good theory. But what I'm saying is, you know, because she was pissed, she didn't have her music. She didn't own the first early music. So she goes and re-recorded it all, so you just. That's crazy. Take that.

Let me know. I'm a translet me. Hey, welcome to the show. Morning Studio. Morning. Thank you. You know, I woke up this morning a bit early. And I thought about exercising this morning because I had just enough time.

I didn't. Have you ever done that? Yeah. There are times where I go, if I don't do it now, I won't do it. Let me say this about exercise. I know we're starting the show off. I don't like exercising. People go, oh, Bobby, what's it like to enjoy fitness?

I don't like it one bit. None of me likes to have to put in the work to stay thin in shape. fit. So I'm like you that's listening right now. I don't like it. We shouldn't have to do it. As a matter of fact, I hate it. I hate having to get in my car and drive to the gym. I hate doing the work. I hate all of it except for when it's done. And so much like our listeners, at least most of them, there's not a part of me that enjoys the actual exercising. If I'm playing ball or something that's different, like that's an actual fun activity that happens to be exercising. But don't get it twisted thinking I enjoy exercise because so many listeners are like, oh, it must be nice to enjoy exercise. Nope. I don't like it either.

So I did an exercise this morning because I really wasn't liking that waking up with it. I was reading the story because I agree with us so much that if you exercise, which I do, I try to do it five times a week. You make better diet choices as well because one, you're just not craving as bad of things. When I don't feel great, I'm craving carbs like crazy. And your palate changes too depending on how you're feeling. And if you exercise, you feel a little better. you don't crave all the sugars and the carbs, but like fruits and vegetables.

And also for me, if I'm putting in the work exercising, the last thing I want to do is cancel it out. Yeah. With some junk food that I don't really love that much. Yeah. You don't want to ruin it. I just don't want our listeners to have the wrong idea

that I am some freak that likes to exercise. No, I just believe in I enjoy the benefit of the work. Do you like how you feel when you get done? Absolutely. Me too. Like, I feel that there are, endorphins or something that's released from like oh that was amazing. I don't get those. I just get the feeling

of you did it again. Good work. You're just proud of yourself. No, I, something has released to me where I really feel well. But yeah, sometimes it does. It's just a real bummer during it. I hate it. I ride that bike sometimes because I'll box 75% of the time and ride that Peloton 25% of the time. I'll ride that bike and I'll ride so hard and you're going to laugh at me. And I don't celebrate myself hardly ever. I'm just not a big, you did good guy. But I will have a thing I do. If I ride really hard and I get a good score, I'll take one hand and I'll put it in front of me like this and I'll take the other hand to give it a high five and be like, good job, bud. I'm so sad. I know, I do it though by myself. But I, but I only do that when I really deserve it. I mean, yeah, if that's what works. And it works

and I like it. Yeah. I put my hand down in front of me and go, good job, bud. I'm like, thanks. Dang, dude. What? It's just all it's just to you by yourself. Like, no one there to. But it's not even about that. Like, it's me going, hey, I'm proud of you. You worked hard. The hardest part. Let me take a little motivational minute here. The hardest part about any of these tasks that we're doing, exercise, work, it's just taking that first step in it and toward it. Once you get started, you're kind of going and it's a little easier. The hardest step is to go, I'm doing it and to start doing it. Once you achieve that, I'm here.

It may be harder to do as far as work goes, but it's not the hardest decision to make because you're already in it. So I would encourage people. You're listening right now. Just make the step. First step. Go. I'm working on a project right now that I've been putting off for a long time. I don't want to say what it is, but I just didn't want to do it.

And the first, I was like, yeah, I'm just going to start doing it. And that was the hardest step for me because now I'm in it. And some days are good, some days aren't. But the hardest step is the first step. And if you can make that first step, you can make the ninth step, the 27 step, the 500 step, got to get rolling. Because otherwise you're going to look back and go, why didn't I start then? You know, the best time to plant a tree? Oh, right now.

20 years ago. You know, the second best time to start a tree today. You can't go and plant the tree 20 years ago. But the next best time is today, right now. Plant the tree. That's what I meant. Right now. I should just say that instead of let Amy. You're 20 years too late.

I did. No. What kind of pizza? What does Garth Brooks like on his pizza? Round. That's my favorite pizza, man. It does it better. I love pizza.

pizza, so they put anything they want on it. I was there two nights and he decided to start pay me a cash because he thought it was better for him. That's how much pizza I had. I was taking it home to the family. He's doing it all. All right, there's Garth. And he'll be there tonight. He's shot out of a cannon. I know. I like people that talk passionate about pizza.

And then they talk about pineapple on pizza for a second, and I just don't have this is not even a thing to me. People get so passionate. I don't care either way. I like pineapple on pizza sometimes. But to me, it's never something that is a yes. Or a no. Do you, you...

Oh, I'm a no, but I'm not passionate about it, but I don't want it. Here is Garth settling the debate, apparently. Let's settle a debate about pizza. Pineapple on pizza. Yay or nay. Yeah, especially you put it with like ham or, you know, the Hawaiian, whatever, you know, the Hawaiian pizza. I like that Canadian bacon. The Hawaiian.

Like, I would eat pineapple with Canadian bacon and I think anything of it. I guess maybe I need to try it. I honestly don't know that I ever have. I just say no to it because it doesn't sound good. Pizza Hut would make great super thin crust Canadian bacon with pineapple. Now that I think about it, because we would do like FCA stuff, which youth groups like fellow Christian athletes. And we would order five or six thin pizzas.

And one of them would always be pineapple and Canadian bacon. And nobody went to that first. The Hawaiian. Nobody goes to the Hawaiian first. But it wasn't bad. Here is Luke Bryan. And let's do with Luke Bryan talking about, this is he talking about me on American Idol. Go ahead.

leading into tonight's CMAs on ABC. Okay, so with Keith Urban right now, pros in 13 years. Which, by the way, up for entertainer of the year and male vocalists of the year? I don't have any notes here. I'm just going by my heart right now. That's pretty good. What song are you performing?

We were. Like acoustic version of it. And whenever you decide on the creative for an award show, how does that process actually happen? How does what? Oh, right. Yeah, that's a good question. Well, I just, we've been playing that song like that this year. And I just thought, it's something different.

You know, it's just acoustic, vocal, no BS, straight up. Whenever you play an awards show, something I'm always wondering is big set or small set. Like, who's actually paying for the lights and the flames or who's not paying when it's an acoustic set? Where does that bill go? That's a great question too. No one ever asked these questions. This is spot on. Because I've wanted that myself sometimes.

I'm like, who? Do you know the answer? It's, yeah, there's a bit of a mix going on between what the... Mostly who pays? Labelled slant which is me obviously and and and but they provide the the you know whoever's putting it on the network Have a budget but if you get like a hundred background like MC Hammer style yeah you'd have to pay for probably Yeah yeah actually mc hammer will pay for it he's still around paying for everybody wow he's so sweet That's fantastic yeah I'm always curious too about the day of the awards like for you when you get dressed up

Are you about 30? Yeah stay fit I look at you What is he? Oh, I thought he was telling me. That's great. I would be shocked that VA knew. But you did the Peloton all the time. I do. I ride the bike and box.

Because I asked you that backstage at the Ryman. I left. You always look super linging. Well, I was going to compliment you on being in shape too. But I imagine a lot of that's from you, is it playing on stage? Like, are you dropping a bunch of weight when you tour? Yes. I have to, yeah, I have different clothes as the tour continues.

Really? Yeah. All the jeans come in, the belts get tighter. Yeah. It falls off here. Man, people don't underestimate. They forget the cardio. of two hours of singing on stage every night,

three nights in a row, it's insane. I'm never going to work out two hours in my life. I'd be bored out of my brain. Cumulative, have you worked out of two hours in your life? Is that what you're saying? Cumulatively, yeah, across a month. No, but I mean, I'm never going to go to the gym for two hours ever and do cardio, but I do it on stage, effortless.

Let me commend you before I wrap this up that when I watch you perform, it's so, there's so much energy in a Keith Urban show and that when you go into the crowd, it scares me for you. Yeah, you seem... But what do you think is going to happen? No, I don't... Just one bad time, one time, though. Right, yeah.

much so that we have this segment. Time for another edition of Weddings Making People Crazy. A woman shared her story. And when she did, she went on Reddit. And I think she was going, hey, this happened to me. I can't wait for all the positive affirmation. So normally when the maid of honor quits a week before the wedding, you may go, all right, not cool.

You're the maid of honor. Right. There's a lot. There's a lot. On your shoulders. Yeah. Mm-hmm. But what if it's a death in the family?

So the bride wasn't really okay with the maid of honor missing the ceremony for the funeral. We think about that. I mean, I think when something like a funeral, you got to pass. Yeah, all bets are off. When a funeral, every, it's like, nothing matters when it's a funeral. Right. She just lost a loved one and you're upset because it's your wedding day. Like, that just doesn't even make sense to me.

Do you feel like she's normally nutty or do weddings really make? people crazy. I hope it's that weddings making people crazy. Guys, just so you know, if there's a funeral, I don't care what's happening. Go to the funeral. I don't care what's happening. That's always the number one

winner of any situation, right? The funeral? Because you have a loved one? It feels like a third cousin. Figure it out. But even then if you go, this is important to me, that wins. Right. In order. Funeral is one.

I would say weddings probably two. If someone's closed, like a wedding? Yeah. What else? The birth of a solid. Wait, that might be one. Oh, see, that one I don't know because I had never had a baby. That one's pretty important.

If you miss that one, you regret it. Okay, that may even go ahead of funeral then. If it's a Cowboys player, y'all are in the Super Bowl and your quarterback is giving birth, Eddie. Jack Prescott needs to go to his baby's birth. How do you feel about that? I always, it's always weird to me when football players do say, like, this is more important to me. I mean, I'm going to rush the hospital after the game. No, you got to be there for your baby's birth.

That's the most important thing. What about second baby, though, if you've already had one baby. Equally as important. Okay, let's rank them. What's more important? Baby's birth, funeral, wedding. Go. Birth, funeral, wedding.

Wedding. Okay, hold on. Amy, you first. Birth, funeral, wedding. Okay. I just had never been a part of a birth. I've been to Eddie's baby's birth. You were there.

But since I've never had a kid, I'm going to go with funeral birth, because you only get one funeral ever for a person. You could have four or five babies. But they're different people. I know, and I'm wrong on this, but I just never experienced it. I don't think there is a right or wrong. I'm going funeral, baby birth, wedding. I mean, when's the start of life? One's the end of life.

It's what. But you can catch up after the birth. You've got a lot of days to catch up. Funeral's like, go by. Some people don't need that closure. See, I think, I think baby. birth, then wedding, then funeral, because they're dead anyway.

Oh, again, I can't argue with that logic because I just use the opposite logic. They're not going to know if you were there or not. It's not about it being for them. It's about the people you're going to support that might be close to them. At the end of the day, anyone on this show, if there's a baby being born, you need to be there.

If there's someone that you love that has died, you need to be there. Wedding, we'll negotiate. Fair enough. Everybody good on that? Yeah. Okay. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood.

I was a kid that had my yellow legal pad with all the nominees written down and would sit in front of ACMs and CMAs and like pick my winners and our family would bet on it. It was like a big deal in my house. I've been obsessed with country music since I was born, basically.

Brantley Gilbert and Lindsay L's song, What Happens in a Small Town just went number one, and Lindsay shared the news on social media saying, this moment has been one she's waited on since she was a little girl, and she is so grateful to celebrate a number one song like this. With Amy. Tell me something good. So there's this woman in New Hampshire, and she has a one goal when. it comes to Christmas time, and that is to send U.S. troops cards all around the world. Like, they're stationed everywhere, but she wants them to get a little holiday cards. So she makes it happen, and her goal this year is to send over 100,000 holiday cards. Wow.

She even formed a little nonprofit to help with the postage, because obviously that's expensive. And then local students in her community, they all participate making cards, too, and then they get sent out, and they just bless people, which my husband has been deployed during Christmas time sometimes and he said yeah it was huge and they would get care packages or cards from random people it was just because some people like I would send my husband stuff but some people over there they literally have nobody sending them anything so it helps when strangers step in good for her yeah yeah that's also good for you to share too I like that that's what it's all about right there that was tell me something good bobby bone show bonehead this story up the day

this story comes with us from louise and a 32 year old man was out bar hopping he was leaving one and he's like, man, I don't want to drink and drive. There's a Walmart across the road, walked over there and got a shopping cart and drove one of those shopping carts a half mile to the next bar. He probably could have walked there faster, though, right? Oh, probably. But he arrived and they were like, what in the world? So they called police because he showed up in a shopping cart.

Do you get a DUI? Yeah. Yeah, you can get one on a horse. On a bike. On a John Deer? Law and mower. On a horse. No, no, we've had.

I know, but it's like a one. I mean, there's not like a rule, like anywhere you get a horse. Good, you could. I don't know. I don't know. Anyway, that guy's a bonehead. I'm lunchbox. That's your bonehead story of the day.

It has. Yes. Exhausting. You got a new record, and you're out touring, and it's CMA week. Like, I don't know that anyone has more on their plate right this second than you. I don't know. It's a lot for sure. Sure. I would hope nobody has any more on their plate. But I always feel like you're a grateful

guy. Like regardless of what comes at you, you're always like, man, I'm just, just happy to be here. I'm definitely happy to just be invited to the country music thing in general. Yeah, but you're not invited anymore. You're kind of dominating. I wonder, because you're so inside of what's been happening, you've been living it, so it's kind of hard to see from the outside. Yeah. Do you feel kind of like you own the space now? Not, not at all. You know, like you said, I am so in the middle of it that it's kind of like, it's hard to understand sometimes. Like, you know, especially when people are, you know, when like I'm doing an interview

and they're like, hey, remember this thing and this thing and this thing and this thing and this thing. And I'm like, yeah, but I hadn't, didn't realize that was all in three months. You know, it's like everything has happened. So much has happened in such a small amount of time that it's really hard to process. You know, what's crazy is that, because you just picked up a guitar, How many years ago? Eight, eight years ago. You learned how to play guitar eight years ago. And how much were you singing, though, before you started playing guitar? All the time. I sang all the time. And sang where? Like school, church, at home, I mean, anywhere I could sing. I was singing.

And then where did you get the guitar? Like, really, where did you get the guitar? Where did it come from? My parents bought it for me for Christmas, like when I was in like seventh grade. I think I took one guitar lesson and I was like well I'm not doing that because I was kind of one of those like oh well my parents want me to do it so it's not cool so I'm not going to do it and did were you duck to water with the guitar when you first got it again the second time yeah I mean I was I had you know I knew like what a G chord was like I didn't know how to play it but I was like aware of its existence pretty much like that was the extent of my knowledge and so I went and literally I pulled that guitar out of my child like my child like my childhood bedroom closet when I was 21. I went home for the summer. 21, which is crazy. Like you grab the, you don't know how to play it,

but you grab it at 21 years old. Yeah. Yeah, and I was just like, because I'd been singing forever, and it was kind of this weird circumstance of like, so when I was 21, I moved back home and worked to the job

that I like had in high school, which was like a, this like go cart track, like climbing wall place kind of thing, which was not, which was great to work at in high school, but when you're 21 and everyone else working there is in high school. So that summer, all my friends,

that, like, they all stayed in their college town. And I was the only one of my friends that moved home. So none of my friends were home for the summer, and it was just me and my parents. And so I was working my job, and I had, like, when I wasn't at work, I was just at home, like, not doing anything. And so my mom was like,

she literally said this because I was, like, moping around the house about, oh there's nothing to do and like I'm bored she was like well you know Kenny Chesney and Tim McRaw they didn't learn guitar till they were 21 and I was 21 at the time and I was like oh well I'll just do that then and so I literally went in the closet and got it out and taught myself that play that summer because I mean I literally that was what I did in my free time when I was at work

was that one to click for you though that you could actually have a music career on the level that maybe not you foresaw it at this last level you are now, but were you like, I think I can probably just go out and be a real life artist. I didn't think, I don't think it was then. I think then it was like, I'd always love to sing. And then being able to, like, accompany myself on an instrument was like another excuse to like, like a socially acceptable excuse to be able to sing. Like, you can't just go to a house party and sing as people think you're weird. You're just an a cappella guy. Right. Everyone's like, why is that guy singing? But if you have a guitar, they're like, dude,

that guy's cool. Like, how cool is that guy with the guitar? And I had seen people do that before, you know, I was like, that's interesting. I always loved performing for people, you know, I always thought that was something that I was into. And because I thought I was, you know, I always thought I was a good singer, you know. And so I had a lot of confidence in that thing. And then adding the guitar into it was just like another level to that.

But it wasn't until I played my first show with the guitar that I was like, I can do this. Like, I can make money doing this too. Luke Combs is here. By the way, we'll get to the new record in a second, but I'm so curious as to how it starts. So where do you go and actually play your first public performance with that guitar? Not in so much make money, but who lets you play on a stage first? I'm trying to think of the first, like, I mean, mostly it was house parties.

Like, my buddy Hart, Austin's in there, and I literally played in his basement in Raleigh one time. And, like, they had a house party, and I brought some, like, speakers and played in their basement. And then... Do you remember the first time you got paid? The first time I got paid to play was at a bar in Boone called the Parthadon Cafe. It's no longer there.

It was a Greek restaurant. But it was also like at night it would become like a bar. You know, like during the day it was a restaurant. You're not just playing over the falafel, right? No, yeah. I'm like, yeah. And so I actually didn't have an acoustic electric

at that time and my neighbor had one. And he let me borrow his guitar. And someone let me buy. borrow like some little PA speakers. And I charged a dollar a ticket to play to come to the show. That's awesome. And 200 people showed up at my first show ever. Who were these 200 people that knew you were good?

Like just, I don't know if they knew I was good. Like they were probably, most of them were probably there for the beer. But I had a lot of friends, you know, so it was in my college town. So all my friends from college came. Like my rugby teammates, I played rugby in college. And so all my teammates came. There was probably 40 of them. So that was 40 bucks right there.

Were you a good rugby player? I was. And what's the position you played in rugby? Because I don't know anything about rugby. It's called prop. So, like, any guy that you see you play rugby that's fat plays prop. Is that like an offensive lineman in America football? That would be the closest correlation, for sure.

And did you get hurt playing rugby? Because there's no pad. There's just people slamming their bodies in each other. There's actually way less injuries in rugby because people don't wear pads. Because they're a lot more cognizant of, like, I could become injured because I'm not wearing things to protect me from being injured. in reality, a lot of the football equipment doesn't really protect you from getting injured at all. And it makes you feel like you're a lot safer than you are.

But I sprained my shoulder twice, my left shoulder, but that's it. Nothing bad. Tonight at the CMA, will you have a speech planned if you do win? No, I don't think I will. Because then I feel like if I plan it, it's not like genuine and authentic, you know? Like whatever I'm feeling in that moment, I think is, what I want to say, you know, and I do worry sometimes about, you know, not thinking the right people or missing somebody who's really important, you know, but I think people are probably

pretty understanding, honestly, of those moments, you know, they're so quick. Do you believe in the jinx, though? It's part of it because you don't want to jinx yourself. I don't think so. You know, I, you know, like you said, man, I'm just, so, so, like, lucky to be here that it's like I don't ever expect to win anything you know I think like if I did win man that would be incredible you know and I would be the luckiest dude in the world to win but I don't I don't like to think about it because I think growing before I started doing this I was never really like good at anything that I tried to do like I was a decent rugby player and I enjoyed that but I didn't put my entire like heart and soul into that you know like I didn't

approach it the way that I should have. And this is the first thing that I found in my life, you know, where I was like, man, I'm really good at this. I enjoy doing it. And people enjoy seeing me doing it. And so when I was growing up, I would always do these things, whether it was a singing thing or a sports thing. And I would always let myself down because I would always think, like, oh, I'm going to

achieve this thing. And then I wouldn't achieve it because of my own lack of, effort. And so that kind of taught me over the years, like I don't get myself pumped up about, about, you know, winning an award or having this big moment, because if I don't, pump myself up about it, and then I can't be let down by it. I've been going to therapy for that same reason for years, Luke. For years, for a year. Luke Holmes is here, by the way. You know, I was watching your videos on Vine back in the day, because you were on Vine, and you'd post covers, originals, and other funny stuff.

you're just a content creator. But are you on TikTok now? I was watching a TikTok, and everybody at Walfa House was singing, beer never broke my heart. And I love TikTok. Are you checking TikTok at all? I have not been on it.

You know, a lot of people have told me that I should get on there, but I'm not on there. It's the greatest. So you're saying I should go for it. Especially because you were a Vine kid. Is it like Vine? It's better, it's longer.

There are more editing options. There's better music that you can use. It's in that. Can I do my own sounds? Absolutely. All of it. So I could just go on there and sing on me. Absolutely.

Okay. You're saying I need to create. we officially? I think you need to create because I just remember how good you were on Vine and that to me was something I was like, oh, I liked this guy. Before you kind of were Luke Combs. Let's officially create. Okay, well, hopefully you can get

the, you'll get your own account but so it's probably squatting on your name, so you got to get that back and then go. What do you think they're going to try to charge me for something? Nothing because I got to get, I got mine back. Nice. Yeah, so they're like, they're cool about like. TikTok, hey, TikTok cool. We're cool. Yeah, they're cool. I know, I'm going to hit them up. Because I accidentally ordered the one that wasn't spicy like an idiot. I waited for 40 minutes and then I didn't get the right sandwich.

And then it was still good, though. It was still pretty good. But it was like you wanted the sauce. What did you think? I liked it. I mean, like, I don't know if I'm going to Popeyes every day. I mean, it looks like I go to Popeyes every day. I would go to Popeyes every day if I thought that was a good choice.

I don't think it's a good choice. I don't think it's a good choice. But I do enjoy Popeyes. How many, one through 10, what do you rate that thing? I would get, I'd give it like an eight. Oh, that's pretty high. Yeah, I'd give it an eight. I mean, it's pretty good.

So, but like, do you have you had the Chick-fil-A spicy sandwich? Absolutely. Okay, so that's the big comparison. Is like, is it Popeyes or Chick-fil-A? To me, it's a totally different sandwich. Okay. It's totally different thing. Like, the bun's totally different.

The chicken's totally different. You got the sauce on the Popeye's one. You know, I'm a big Bojang's going. I know. Oh. Do you have a deal with them? I do not. Man, you should.

That's right in the Luke Combs. Scottie McCree had a Bochangles deal. He was right on the bus and he was like, I'm eating the biscuit. If I ate a Cajun-Folay biscuit before the show, I would be asleep. Yeah. Oh, yeah. But they're great. But I would be asleep.

I saw when you posted the Eric Church is going to be on the record with you. I've since heard this song. The song's called Does to Me. What's that call?

Is there a call? Do you make a call to Eric? How does that happen? Well, at the time, like, so long story short, I went to Appalachian State. Eric Churchill went to Appalachian State. Obviously, we weren't there at the same time. So I got introduced to his music there as he was the guy when I was there that was like, oh, this guy went to school here.

And so that's how I got introduced to his music. And so for the longest time, after I moved here, I had never met him. And so even up until the first time that we hung out outside, because we had opened some shows for him, but he was very like, you know, in and out. It was like one-off type thing, so he would come in late and go home right after the show.

And so we never got a chance to hang out. The first time we hung out was, I think it was probably June or July of this year, was the first time that we ever got together and hung out and talked. more than just like a passing hello. And so when I had the idea to have him on the album, I didn't know him on a personal level yet.

So I did the proper channel. Like I asked my manager to hit up his manager and say, hey, is this something that your client would be interested in doing? And since then, obviously, we've hung out. And I was there when he sang on it and everything. So yeah, that was like, it was a very like proper thing. Would you tell him in the studio? They're like, give me a little more.

Like, he, pee, can you get up to, he? My producer did that, so I didn't have to, you know what I mean? Do you, last year, CMA, it's funny how a year changes things. Last year, CMA Awards, we, I just remember this, we presented an award together. It was me, you, Carly Clause, the model. Yes. She was so tall. Very tall.

And they made me stand beside her, and I'm six foot. I know, and I'm like, I'm six foot. And she was like, she was wearing heels, I think, too. And it was Brett Young, too. And you and I are. He's like six, five. How tall are you? Six foot.

And those are the things that have made me so much happier than I was, you know, two or three years ago when I started out because it was so crazy. Then once hurricane came out, it was just like on. It just went and it didn't stop and it hasn't stopped since.

but being able to figure those things out has been really good for me. I'm gonna compliment you as a human here for one second because in our business things come and go and you and I had scheduled to do I do an interview show that's an hour long and people can't sometimes have to cancel because I'm moving sometimes you and you had to cancel

and it wasn't that your people called you called me up and you were like hey dude I'm really sorry about this. This is not like me to do it and I just thought that was you have to do that. You have to call and actually get on the phone and be like hey to do this. Yeah I just fuck man you know

I hate you know if I say I'm going to do something I'm going to do it, you know, and especially, I mean, I was short notice, you know, I mean, it was like within an hour of, you know, me supposed to be at your house, you know, and so, you know, I understand that, you know, you sacrificed your time, you know, so I wanted to, you know, I wanted you to hear from me, man, man, I didn't want it to be like. And again, I've been to these. hotels before in Las Vegas. I don't remember which hotel that our company put us at. But these robots delivered our food. Which, Bobby, you have three tattoos.

No regrets, right? No. Yeah. I know, me too. I'm just making sure. Yeah, none. Some times people are confused at the big blob on my arm if my arm's bent funny. But it's the state of Arkansas.

But I was rep in Arkansas before rep in Arkansas was cool. Now everyone's rep. Yeah, now it's everywhere you go. Like Post Malone's got Arkansas attack on his neck. What else, Amy? So according to a new survey, I have the worst Thanksgiving dinner conversation. like it's what's most likely going to cause a fight. And it's actually not politics.

I was surprised. When I read it, I was like, oh, for sure it's politics. So that's the number one thing. But it's not. It's bringing up any longstanding family tensions. So if there's anything amongst the group that has happened in the past, you just let it be. Let it go.

I read a story that one out of five people who have a Thanksgiving dinner at their house heavily regret it. Like that's about the average of if you throw it. People hate having thrown it. Oh, really? I'm hosting this year and I'm actually super excited about it. And I don't ever host, but maybe it's this new, new me. New year, new me, because I'm kind of a new mom. I'm an adult now.

Yeah. All my family coming to my house. Well, you haven't had a chance to regret it yet. Yeah, tell us what you think afterwards. Let's see afterward. Because, yeah, the survey sounded about 20% of people who hosted Thanksgiving regretted it. So I, am I. I'll keep you posted.

Well, here's conversations we for sure need to avoid. Longstanding family tensions. Have none. General politics. The 2020 presidential race. We talk about all that here all the time anyway. Someone's future plans. And then lastly, money.

Okay. Just don't talk about those at Thanksgiving and you should have a happy family. Well, basically, we talk about all five of those things every morning in that studio anyway when Amy and I are hanging out and cutting commercials. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, is that it? Yep, but maybe that's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories.

It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Tell me something good. Mark Williamson plays football for William and Mary University. And three years ago, he signed up and said, You know what? If someone needs my bone marrow, I'll donate it. Well, lo and behold, an 18-year-old from Ohio was suffering from leukemia.

Perfect match. Donates the bone marrow, and they start talking via messenger. they both make a full recovery. Crazy. And this past weekend, he showed up at the football game and surprised the guy and they got to meet on the field. Wow. Wow. A bone marrow.

That's quite the donation. Legit. Because you go down for a bit with that. Yeah, they said it could have ended his football career. But he said, I'm going to do it anyway. Recovered, still playing. And they brought him to the game and got to surprise them. Man, that's crazy.

I do, too. But then I feel like it might get a little bit of, a little tight. And some people want jokes to tell it Thanksgiving

meal. Okay, well, that's not one to tell Thanksgiving meal. But that's a pretty fun one, my D. My D. comes in and saves it with that one. There it is. That's more funny. That was the morning corny. Last night, about 8.30 or so, Amy tries to call me, and then I FaceTime her back. And you would think, because how long we've been together? Oh, like 14 years.

You would think we're pretty much out of stuff to talk about. We sat on FaceTime for about 40 minutes last night talking. And not only was Amy and I, Amy was in the bed with her husband. Oh. And we had a three-way talk. You three. Yeah. Okay.

For like 45 minutes. And you would just think, at this point in life, we'd have discussed everything. Yeah. Well, there's still stuff to talk about, I guess. We talked about CMA Fest tonight because Amy's now going to come to my house and get ready. Yeah, CMA Awards. Excuse me. Watch tonight, by the way, 8-7 Central.

I'll be presenting an award, but Amy will also be on TV because she'll be sitting with me. And we have good seats. Yeah, we're very lucky. Yeah, I don't know. I got to practice my face. Oh, you do? Because you'll be on camera the whole time. So you have to like keep that smile on.

Whenever it comes on, you're just like, me. Yeah, yeah. We talked about that. We talked about. dating, we talked about, like, changes on the show coming up. We talked about, like, a lot of stuff. And then I got off the phone and I click and I, you know how you look and see how much time you talked? It's like 41 minutes.

Oh, that's a long time. It's a long time. It didn't seem like two minutes to me. See, look at that. Yeah. You want to know, oh, are we going to say why we talked about dating a little bit? Mm-mm. Okay.

Okay, that's fine. I wasn't going to bring it up. You just did, though. Well, I don't know what you're going to say. So I would need to hear. because there's just other people involved. Okay. Yeah.

We can hold off. You know, last night, too, before I talked to you, I was watching this clip. And, you know, I have refocused myself in therapy to spending the time putting in the effort to make myself better, feel better, right? Like, I'm going, making a deal about it. And so my therapist always says, hey, when an emotion comes, it's okay to feel it. You can let it go, but don't just push it away. because my thing is something comes, I'm just holding it at arm's linked. Happy or sad.

She's like, let it come, take it, and then if you're done with it, let it go, but experience it for a second. So I'm really focused in on just dialing in to feeling the emotion when it hits me. Now, I push it away pretty quick sometimes, but last night before we were talking, I was on Twitter, and I was watching this kid who was doing a stand-up, like a reporter, you know, and they just hold the microphone. Amy and they're standing up talking in front of the camera. Yeah. He's a student. He's working at the University of Alabama. And he's doing it and, you know, he's young and not that skilled yet.

So he's a bit green. And he's messing up. And Marty Smith from ESPN, who was NASCAR for a long time, is actually just walking by because he had been working for ESPN. I'm going to tell you, I was watching this clip. And I almost started crying. I didn't. And there's nothing super moving here except Marty Smith, who doesn't have to go in and, like, help this kid.

Or, like, give him any advice whatsoever, just stops. And it's like, hey, man, and here's the clip. That culminated, I think it. Don't let nobody tell you. Don't let nobody tell you it ain't. Do you want to know the hardest part? The hardest part of our job is what you're doing right now.

The tape stand up, hate them. I hate them, man. Because it ain't like, if you're live and you kind of mess up, whatever, you just keep on digging. This thing you want to be just perfect. I can't stand them. Kill them. Do you mind if I get a picture right?

You can hear me choking up a little bit now. I'm sitting at home last night and I'm like, wait till my therapist here's about this. Me taking in all this. I let it happen. I let it come. I let it happen. But let me just say this. There are so many times in life that people are struggling and when you can help them, you would think, I bet Marty Smith never thought a thing about this. He's like, I'm just going to walk by help this kid. Never thought. How did we get back?

It just so happened to be caught on camera. But change the kid's life. Change the kids' life. And we can do that. I think we can look for these instances to help people like that when we think it's not a big deal to us, but it is a big deal to them. But I was feeling all the emotions last night. Then I got on the phone with Amy. She's all, I don't know.

I want, whatever. I didn't think I caused you to feel any emotions. I was very emotional. Okay. That being said, hey, we'll do it, never going to get it real quick. Okay. All right. Let's do it never going to get it.

Well, so I left my car out the night before last, and we got a bit of cold weather and some precipitation would turn into snow and ice, and my car was frozen shut, and I think I broke a little part of my car because I was having to pull the door open. It's a whole thing, right? So last night, I don't ever use my garage. I was like, you know what, I'm putting my car in the garage. I just don't want to get up and have to freeze. I know it wasn't going to rain. I wanted to freeze. So here's why I did.

Put my car in the garage. didn't close the garage door. So woke up this morning, walked out, my car was frozen again because I never closed the garage door and it's basically like sitting outside. Yeah. You got to do a checklist.

No award for intelligence today, for sure. I know. It's weird because you're like so smart. I know. But I did start the car way early today. But still I went out there and I was like, how do I pull it again and not close the garage? I'm just not used to use in my garage. Yeah.

So I feel like that's what fancy people do, use their garage. Where I come from, We just park it in the yard and let it roll. I just got a garage for the first time, and it's amazing. I can't stop using it. That's what's happening with me. What's the hatch?

Amy, what's happening with you? Okay, so I guess, like on Monday, I posted a video working on my CMA outfit, tagged Karen Fairchild, right? From Little Big Town. From Little Big Town. Then she reposted my video on her Instagram stories, and I was like, oh, hey, Karen. Like, she saw it. She noticed.

Then, so I reposted that. And then she reposted again. So I'm just having like all kinds of Karen Fairchild. And really the deal is, is because she is fashion inspiration to me. And so if I ever have an event that I get to get dressed up for, I just think of her. I try to channel her. So my goal is to see her tonight and her to be like, I like your outfit. I mean, I don't even know if I'll see her and not even know if she'll notice my outfit, but that's my goal.

Karen Fairchild, by the way, is the dark-haired female singer of Little Big Town. There are four of them, you know, two girls, two guys. Right. But if you're wondering who that is. And she just dresses so cool. And so the fact that she was reposting me talking about her noticing my outfit makes me think maybe she'll notice my outfit. That's pretty cool because that would be like if I did a bit and Howard Stern reposted it. Okay.

What's the hats? Lunchbox, what's the apps? I need a tree doctor. I don't know if there's such a thing as a tree doctor, but I have these evergreen trees in my yard, and they're all turning brown, and I have no idea why. And I figure evergreens are supposed to stay green all the time,

and I know it's becoming winter, but they're not supposed to turn brown, but they're turning brown, so I think they're dying, and I don't know if tree doctor can save them or whatever, but if there's a tree doctor out there, I need you. What's a tree doctor cost? I don't even know. I don't even know if there is tree doctors.

Oh, see, okay. And do they have to go to school for that? I feel like it's, yeah, like a landscape. Arborist. When I was working on the golf course, we had a couple people that had advanced degrees in knowing how to deal with trees and grass because those are expensive. Yeah. Like the superintendents on golf courses also were really intelligent about that kind of stuff. I don't know if it's a tree doctor.

I took turf management in college. Oh, so you can save my trees? Yes. But yeah, we had to study all the different kinds of grass that can be on a golf course. and yeah, me and all the football players, turf management, I got an A. Hey, what's that? What's the hat?

I know when you're preaching about it. No, I was just telling you I had a goal to do a crash diet and that goal ended up two hours. Yeah. I know. I was like, when I saw his plate, I was like, wait, how many hours has it been since he just said? He was trying to fit into his suit. He was like, I'm going to do it. Regardless of if it really happened or not, you convince yourself like you're a guest jeans model, and you get him to start, whoever it is, to start talking with you, Maybe you even get money out of them, stuff like that. There was no money from me on that story.

Paulina Gomez, who's this? And I go, Pee Wee Herman. And then she sends me a picture. And I come over here, Amy. Okay. Oh, gosh. If Paulina is super hot, then we know. Well, check the quality of the picture, too.

So she's in like a blue nurse's uniform. Oh. And she's taking a picture. Like a dirty nurse or a... No. What? Hold on. There's more. There's more. Do you think I'm being catfish?

Amy, what do you see? Is from first instinct. Okay. Okay, so Then she goes, Anyways, Pee We Herman, that's me if I maybe look familiar. And I say,

what do I say here? That's not you. This is a catfish. Hold up a sign and say, hi, Pee We Herman. Good. Smart. Because you got to hold up the newspaper

with the date on it to prove that it's real. And then she wrote, of course it is. I can do it again when I'm on break. And then she gives me her Instagram. So I go to her Instagram and it's private.

Okay. And so I can't get in. Oh, man. And so I said, account is private. You could link me to a fake link. And so you can see all this. But anyway, I just don't believe it. What?

And then she says another picture. It's a nurse. But where's the Pee-Wee Herman? I said, hold up three fingers. And this is her claiming. She held up three fingers. How do you feel about that? I mean, it's three fingers.

No, you have to be on the side of this as a catfish. Amy, is she a hottie? There's an excuse for every. Yes. There's an excuse for everything. She's like, I'm gonna say her. Then she says best I can do before my boss comes.

Let's see. And then I write, that's not three fingers. I said, people try to catfish me all the time. Go back out to the picture, man. And this is kind of where it... You're getting... That's where it ends. What's that?

Well, then she sends a video that's exactly 60 seconds that she may have stolen from this girl's Instagram. Do you want to see what... What? I never listen to the video. I think it's real. It's not. There's no way it's real.

Why'd she sign you're welcome? What's in that video? Exactly. Now I'm the one that believes everything's a catfish, and the show's like, she's real. I mean, parts of me maybe could think she's real, but the fact that she is avoiding giving specific things that you've asked for, like, it could take her two seconds on her break or before her boss comes for her to say hi, Hi, Pee We Herman.

Well, Mike D says you can reverse image search, which is what? So if you upload a picture online, it can show you other places where it's been posted. Oh. So you can see if it's linked to another person's profile. Then we can take a little break. Yeah. You can do it. Because again,

And I was like, I'm being catfished. Like, I felt like I identified it pretty quick. But just in case I kept talking. Just in case, you know, you never want to just like, we don't always wasted. So first of all, I downloaded the pictures and reverse image search them. So if you upload them to a site, it'll show you the first place they were posted if they were ever posted. Because of the data inside the picture. Inside the picture, it has all the information on it. So when you post it, it stays on the photo. Okay. So a few things I noticed right away is that one of them was a screenshot. So it's not even a real picture, really.

It's a screenshot of another picture. And then the other one where you... you asked her to hold up the three fingers, that photo was originally taken in 2017 and uploaded to an image site. Dang. So it wasn't even for me. No. Okay.

What else you find out? And then I looked up the phone number on a data site where you can search like spam numbers, and that number has been reported 26 times as spam. Sorry, Bobby. How do they find the lonely people? Like, how do they know? Yeah. How do they find me?

Like, how did they go? How did they know? I'm single and is looking. You must be on some, like, dark web thing. Like, this guy. this guy. We got him before. Let's get him again.

Like my worth here at this job isn't about how many hours a day I show up, but it's about what can they send and sell me to advertisers for. and if I get good ratings, if I get good downloads for podcast, if I get, then they can sell that and that's my worth. It's not, because again, compared to my stepdad who worked at the sawmill every day, I ain't working that hard. Different kind of work, but I ain't working that hard. But with these guys, people are kind of bagging on them going, well, they're getting that because it's worth that.

Because HBO Max just bought the rights to the show, and they're going to get them all back together. All six of them have apparently agreed, in principle, to do a reunion special. I'm glad not a whole series, because it will water down the series. Right. It'll be Michael Jordan playing for the Wizards.

Oh, geez. Right? So... It'd be like one show? Yeah, I get together. Like, hey, we're all back. Well, here's what the story says. As Friends continues to celebrate its 25th anniversary, sources tell the Hollywood reporter that the six core stars and creators of the NBC comedy are in talks to reunite on HBO Max.

Again, from the Hollywood Reporter. They mention all the actors and the series creators. Sources caution that a deal is not done yet, but they're hammering it out as close as it's ever been. And they've declined comment. But again, I would love for them to come back for one episode. You know, people keep trying to get the office back together, which is my favorite show in my life. lifetime. Even when it was out and it was running live, it was my favorite show. So I don't watch it every night. And I don't want them to get back together and do a bunch of episodes. Like, do a

special every couple years. Do a Christmas special. That's what the British office did. They only did two seasons of that show ever and they shut it down. Oh, wow. So just get everybody together and you get like an update on where they are in life at this stage. And there's not some crazy pressure to keep it as good as it was. Times were different. The comedy's written different. I'm down. I'd love to see a special. I don't want to see a new series. Because they brought back Will and Grace.

I liked Will and Grace back in the day. And then it came back and I was like, okay? Is it still back or they... Yeah, I think the episode is still... That's it, right? It's still back. So, anyway, I would love for them to get back together.

So I see my writing about it and I'm seeing all the reviews that are just wonderful.

And I'm like, I'll check out some streaming content. That's better than most shows on TV. And I'm like, I'm going to check it out. And he goes, you don't watch Star Wars. You won't like it. Because it's not even Star Wars. It's spinoff. It's in the same world.

So, yeah. It's not in the same characters. Galaxy far, far and away. What did you think about Disney Plus? I liked it. It has a bunch of shows I watched growing up on there, like all the Disney Channel stuff. And then it has all the Marvel and, and like the entire Simpsons.

The Nat Geo stuff. Is it up there yet? Yeah. And that's where my Barry Girls show will be, which mine comes on in January. And I was told that I can say exactly where I went. Like it's not a secret anymore. So I went to the fjords of Norway.

I don't know what that is. Well, you should look it up. And they sent me up there. And there's a whole story about how I got up there too. But my episode's in January. And what we're trying to do is we're trying to beat Brie Larson ratings episode one I'm gonna show them

On with us right now Is the producer of the CMA Awards He's the guy running the whole show It puts the whole show together It's Robert Deaton everybody Robert, how's it going, bud? Yes, I'm doing great. How's it going this morning?

We're good. And tonight's the big award show, so we're all going to get fancy and get looking pretty and come do the show and come watch the show. But what I'm curious about is this opening performance

because I see a list of names here and it says history-making opening performance. Tell me what we're going to see at the beginning of the show tonight. Well, you know what? It is history-making. And for me, in the rehearsal, I got, you know, I was very anxious all day just in the rehearsal because of what all these women have meant not only to our format, but also to me personally.

And so, you know, when I was speaking to them, I actually kind of broke up there for a second because I look around the room and I see, well, first of all, Carrie, who's, Carrie and I've done the awards now for 12 years together. Riva, I did a lot of her music videos. Dolly, the first time I worked with Dolly was in 1991. won. And then, you know, I did, I won a CMA award with, with Martina Mabride, with Independence Day, and I did all, I did a lot of Terry Clark music videos and Sarah, I mean, so it was like family. And just to see all of them together in one room and the history that was in the room was quite, it was, it just takes your breath away. So I think that, yeah, you don't want to miss it. You don't want to miss it. You don't want to miss the first five minutes if you're two, in, you just don't want to miss it because it's something that, it's something that will never

be duplicated ever again. And it's a one-time opportunity. And there's also, you know, a pretty big surprise in there as well. So that we're not letting people know, you kind of have to tune in to see what it is. But for me, it was just, it was just this moment of knowing that when I was 17 years old, 17, 18 years old, I was a production assistant on the Crisco commercials. out at Loretta Lenz home in Hurricane Mills. And now I'm like, and now, you know, in 2019, you know, I am putting this performance together. And it's a blessing for me. Tonight, CMA Awards, in that opening performance, Terry Clark, Sarah Evans, Crystal Gale,

the High Women, Martina McBride, Reba, Jennifer Nettles, Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker, Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, just in the opening performance. So Robert Deaton is on, who's producing the show tonight. Do you know who wins already, Robert? I don't. People ask me that all the time. I used to get in trouble because sometimes I would try to put, you know, if I try to guess, you know, who's going to win, and sometimes I'd put like, especially if it's a first time winner, like Marin Morris, for example, when she won the first time, New Arts, the year, I put her performance right before the award. And so, and then she wins and it's like, oh, you know, you know, you know, you know, and I was like, no, I don't know. And you know what, Bobby, I don't want to know. I mean, that's the other thing is, I, even if they came to me and was like, okay, we'll get you the, you know, in advance, I don't want to know because, first of all, and you know how this is, all of you, you know, you know, you and your team, you're friends with these people, you know, you, you know, you live life with them and I just don't want to know.

Especially if we're doing a rehearsal or something like that, and they're up for an award. I just, you know what? And also, I'm the worst, I would be the worst card player in the world, so you can see it on my face and or I'll slip you know I'll go you know I'd probably say something like yeah and when you win I don't want to do that so I don't want to know Robert Deaton is on the producer of the CMA awards tonight 8 7 Central on ABC I'm going to roll through some of these rapid fire questions I think they're really interesting let's go with is there an artist that notoriously goes over set time that goes over set time um you can play you can play you can play

the fifth if you want. Yeah, yeah. I'm just trying to think, everybody goes over set. To everybody, here's the thing, is what people don't understand. I get this. Well, you know what?

It's only five more seconds. Or, hey, I'm just 10 seconds over. Well, to them, 10 seconds is nothing, but to me, it's, you know, if everybody goes 10 seconds over and there's 20 performances on the show, look where I am. And so I try to go into the show

maybe a minute under my time, but, you know, the network, they want to stand on time, but no, everybody, everybody wants to, you know, hey, if I could just get 10 more seconds, and it's like, so that would be, the answer to that question would be everybody. Now, my question is, how do you decide where everyone sits? Because I got pretty good seats. I'm not going to lie, and I got a feeling you were the reason for that. Yeah, you know what, pal, that's, I'm the only reason you got those seats. Two years in a row, you've had me up front. So how do you decide where everyone sits? You know what we do is my assistant director, we get together and Chris Kennedy, who works for the CMA.

And we look at the plot because the thing about it is we have to be able to figure out for our cameras to get to each one of those nominees for the nominee shots. So it's not just about, oh, we're going to give this person a front row seat. This is about geography of how can my cameras get to all these people, get through these five nominees. knees. Now, we normally, historically, we put the entertainers of the year on the front row. Wait, am I up for it? Is this a surprise? Am I really going to be up for the entertainer of the year?

You're not up for it yet. Oh, okay. All right, all right. Ooh, he said yet. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The big deal tonight, and I'll end on this question, how did you get Kerry, Reba, and Dolly together? Like, what's that call that you make to make that happen?

Well, it wasn't, it wasn't a, it really, wasn't a call. I brought this idea to carry. And then I, you know, I never thought in a million years, I mean, you come up with list, you know, it's like, okay, well, if this would be the ultimate that we could possibly do. And so what, I wouldn't actually sat with Dolly. And, you know, like I said, I first worked with Dolly in 1991 on a song called Silver and Gold. So we have a relationship, and I sat down with her and explained to her what this night was going to mean. And then I did the same thing with Riva. And both of them were, you know, all three of these women are very strong women and they are decisive. And it wasn't like, oh, well, let me think about it, blah, it's like, that sounds good. I'm in.

And so, you know, it really hit me, it really hit me in the first script read day before yesterday. We went through the script and it had all three of them in. And you hear those voices in the history of what that means. And you got two country music Hall of Famers, and then you got Kerry, it will be a country music hall of famers. So it's going to be really special. There he is, Robert Deaton,

All right, there he is, Robert Deaton, everybody. Hi. You know, my theory is that I would say in seven to eight years now, you're going to see movie theaters down 75%. Unless they're doing something, people just aren't going to go to the movies in any capacity like they are today. They already aren't. But here you go.

Movie theaters versus streaming, they're starting to do these because we're getting a lot of these movies now in multiple ways. And some movies aren't even going to theaters. Right. So they wanted to look at how we're using our downtime and surveyed 1,000 people asking about their movie viewing preferences, and 92% of those responded. saying they went to the theater once or less a year,

and that they prefer to watch a movie, even if it's a little lesser on a streaming service at home, because they don't have to get out of their house. And when all the great movies are coming to our home, it's over. It's over. No more theaters. People have their phones, turning, talking with the light on, texting.

You say it's kind of dirty. Kind of. I always kind of would fight with you on it a little bit because to us growing up, going to movies, it's like nostalgic, it's like fun. It's like a family thing and kids love it so much. But yeah, I mean, it's less and less appealing. Yeah.

And just partly because of the effort you have to go through to get out there. And the money. You got to buy the popcorn. It's so expensive. And everything's massive. And the goobers. They still sell goobers? Yeah, of course.
