The Bobby Bones post show pre-show. Later on, we talk about Amy's daughter's birthday party. You'll hear that in the show. You know what I want to talk about, though, is blowing out candles on cakes. Did you guys do that? Because I've been saying for years we should stop doing that. I mean, no, and we're the same, we're a family, we're all quarantined together.

So really if she blew out candles on a cake, it's fine. We all are going to, I think we're all good. But this is the first time where I've given her her own little cupcake to blow out. I didn't put the candle on the big cake. I gave her her own individual cupcake and that's what she blew out. And I feel like you've been pushing that for a very long time. and now I wasn't ever on that team. But post-Corona, I'm on that team.

Well, pre-corona, I was like, why in the world, are we going to eat a piece of cake when someone goes and just spits all over it? Yeah, I know. It is, I just don't like, I like things. If that's how it's been done, I like to keep it that way, even if it's something as little as, you know, spitting all over a cake from candles. But now I am with you. We're not going to do that anymore.

I just don't see anybody ever returning to that ever. Yeah. Ever. Well, it depends. Then people may protest it. You know how these protests are getting. There's more important things to protest, but, yeah. I was reading about Alaska and how the restaurants are reopening today in Alaska.

Listen to this. Restaurants can open for dine in service, but only by reservation, and people seated at the same table must all live in the same household. Restaurants may operate at 25% capacity, and tables need to be at least 10% of. feet apart. That's a lot of restrictions, huh? Yeah. I'm up for, I'm up for any restriction that gives you an explanation as to why and then how it goes forward or backward. I love going, here is the plan, and if it does this, then we open to this part. And if that meets this criteria, we open to this part. I love a laid-out plan. I don't have to agree with a laid-out plan, but I love a laid-out plan because it tells me what we're aiming for, the goals we're trying to hit,

and then we're not just opening it because we just feel a certain way. You know? I love plans with data and science. And then you know what? Okay. Let's do it. You know, here we are. They're laying it out every two weeks.

And if it goes down, they go to the next layer. I thought that was fantastic. So I was thinking about you with that. You'll hear Amy's birthday, her daughter and her birthday coming up in a little bit. Eddie had some drama this weekend. Eddie's wife went to the hospital. Amy, did you know this? No, no, I didn't.

Eddie, tell her what happened. Yeah, it was a bad weekend So Friday she started feeling You know stomach pains And it lasted for about eight hours She was complaining and towards the last like two hours of it She was crying and I was like I don't know what to do

You know should we take it to the doctor It's a weird choice right now Because you don't know When it's bad enough to go to the hospital So So she was like I just got to do it I can't take it anymore It's been more than six hours of pain

So we took her to the hospital And and it was you know, props to them, they had it kind of organized, okay. Right at the entrance of the hospital, they had a lady sitting there on a desk. And before anyone can go in the hospital, you had to check in with her and make sure that you were okay. And if you had, you know, COVID or you were at Corona that you were dealing with, you go to another entrance.

And if you don't, you go to the other entrance. And so I felt terrible bones because I just dropped her off, man. Like, I had all the kids and we didn't want to get too close to the hospital. So it was like door open and all right. call me let me know what you're gonna do and she ended up spending the night there and she had kidney stones wow kidney stone a huge kidney stone that was stuck uh right there by her bladder and they had to remove it but they couldn't do it friday night so she spent the night all by herself and then had it removed in the morning so she was back home saturday at five and dang dude i felt terrible because one i couldn't

be there with her and then i had all the kids you know we were just kind of bachelor bachelor bachelor in it up, all dudes in one house while Mama was in the hospital by herself. So we face-timed a lot, but it was rough, man. It was a hard weekend. Is she okay? Yeah, she's good. I mean, they removed it and they didn't have to do any incisions or anything. So it was good.

They had to just go in there and get the stone, crumble it, and take it out. But she's, I mean, they're saying that, you know, she's drinking too much coffee and caffeine and diet or whatever. So it's something that could be preventable. Yeah. The timing was just terrible. Dang. Dang, dang, dang, dang. That stinks, man. Oh. Yeah. Yeah. But then since being released from the hospital, did they recommend any, like, her not being around y'all for 14 days or anything?

No, no, no. They really, they do separate everyone really well. She said, and she said she only made contact with two nurses and one doctor on Saturday, and that was it. She saw no one else. And so they didn't say anything about that. She said that she should be completely fine. Oh, cool. I'm assuming they have to deal with that stuff in hospitals all the time because, I mean, they can't mix the patients together, but it looked like the one that we went to was pretty good on that. Well, that stinks.

Sorry about that. You good. Yeah, man. Yeah, we're good. When did I FaceTime you like basketball and you were like cooking? Was your wife already in the hospital? No, that was Thursday night. Oh, I don't know what day it is anymore.

I mean, I don't know. And you know what I'm not even surprised. I used to be like, what day is it? I don't even care anymore what day it is. It's just, I just go. I know Saturday is when I go work at the opery. And I know Sunday's American Idol, but other than that, I don't, it's just like everything just kind of rolls.

What's up, Amy? Oh, I'm scratching my face. Well, you look like you were thinking. That's that scratch, the thinking scratch. No, literally like my face isch. Look like you were going to say something really smart. Yeah, I did. I thought you're really, you know, pontificating on your reacts.

Let's see. Morgan is standing by at her house. Hey, we should hit a food world because Morgan's got a pretty interesting food world here. Something that really sounds good to me. Morgan, you ready over there for this one? Yeah, I'm ready. All right, here we go, Ramundo. It's time for Food World.

I insult my... Yeah, you did. Or you just scratching your top of your eye sockets. No, but I need to work on my eye roll. Like, I didn't mean to make that obvious. Kit Kat's, Twicks. And although I wouldn't put...

I mean, the taste is up there. It's definitely really good, but there's also a lot of substance to a Snickers. I'm going to put Snickers up there too. Ugh. What? Amy, none of these are... What's wrong with you? Snickers is not...

No, Snickers is... I don't get people's fascination with Snickers. It's chocolate and nougat and it's chewy and you know what? Sometimes you just want to be satisfied. Okay. Okay, top tier me then. Oh, top tier you? Okay.

Reese's cups. Or actually, I'm going to go Reese's egg or Christmas tree, those ones, the shapes. The same thing. But you can't get those all the time. They taste different. Yeah, you can. Pretty much there's always a holiday that they have them for. Go ahead, Smarty Pants.

What else in your top tier? Okay, take five. What? A take five? Y'all, it's so underrated. The fact that you have to explain to us what it is. We don't even know what a take five is. You know what it is.

It's chocolate and then it has a pretzel and then peanut butter. It takes five minutes to find out what it is when you Google it because you're like, what candy bar is this? Whatever. Take five. Oh, also Butterfinger. Disgusting. Amy. Disgusting.

Okay. All right. Well, hey. You know, Nestle Crunch is better than all that crap, Amy said. I like the crunch. A good old Nestle Crunch. Oh, don't jump on my team now. Look at you, Trader.

What, Eddie? No, and I'm okay with, I'm on your team Kit Kat. Oh, thank you. We're friends again. Eddie, what are you going to say? Okay. You know what's really plain and simple, but I can eat a whole bag of it is M&Ms. And not a little bad.

So I'm going to say that's a C plus rating of an almond joy. Mounds.

Mounds, get that out of here. Mounds is like the stepbrother of almond joy. Not even the full-blooded sibling, the step-brother. What? I don't even know what's in a Mounds. It's the same but dark chocolate. Yeah, that's why it's disgusting. Oh, even worse.

Amy, you seem like you like dark chocolate. Yeah, I like dark chocolate, but I also like. We judge her. Everything that we say, Amy, it has to be contriended. On. Okay. I also like milk. You like Hershey's sympathy.

I like... Oh, disgusting. Hershey's dark chocolate makes me want to vomit, then eat it, and then vomit it out again. That's how disgusting it is. Okay. I like white chocolate. Okay, fine. It's okay.

Anything else? I'm just not trying to be contrary. Okay. Well, you seem like it. Trying to make a point over there. We get it. You have taste. You have a palate.

So I'm going to, for this week of the show, I'll just act like we're all new. So I'm Bobby. You know, I work on American Idol, which aired last night, which was super cool. You know, we did the show from like 40 different places, but I do press. And so I'm the mentor on that show. I work with all the contestants. And so I go and I do. this press tour and Amy I'm 12 when I do this because I will text my friends if I'm doing an interview in their city. For example, I was doing an interview in Dallas, Texas. And my friend

Jay Shannon, who used to be our boss is living in Dallas. So I text and I go, hey, put it on TV. I'm about to be on over there. And so they're like one minute until Dallas. And they go, okay, and they patch me in. And I'm like, dude, are you watching? It goes, yeah, just turn it on. I'll say, watch out. I'm going to give you a shout out. And so I'll text all my friends in these cities and to say, because I'm such a kid, and I think it's so funny to cram people's names in interviews, here I am in Dallas, doing the news, and this is me cramming in my friend Jay Shannon's name. From Wichita, Kansas when I lived in Kansas years ago, so who should we be looking for?

Is there any standout so far that you're kind of pulling for all? Can you say? You know, I tell you, I have a really close friend named Jay Shannon who lives in Dallas, and we were talking about this yesterday. There you go. See? go. He text me with that crying eyeball emoji. Like, there was no reason I had to say that. I didn't, but I did that like four times of four different friends. I'd be like, are you watching? Even with, I went on in Portland and I was like, I have a friend up there named Phil who, you know, put us on. I was like, hey, do watch you. I'm going to do two shoutouts for the bull. So it's just a playground.

Life is my playground. I did mention on Friday show that our video producer Eddie, who has four kids, tour his own, two are foster children, that he has been living a lot. with one of his sons. Which of the sons are you living the lie with, Eddie? My oldest, the 12-year-old. He's the one? Yep, he fell for it. And you're proposing it the wrong way.

I'm not lying. I'm just not correcting him. So Eddie's 12-year-old son thinks that Eddie was voted sexiest man alive on People Magazine. No. How does he think that? Okay, so he was Googling pictures of me. And I guess a while back on the show, somebody did Photoshop's of all the guys on the show

and put him on People Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive edition. And so he finds this. And I think the problem, there's a little angle to this, because I think the problem is that he doesn't know what sexiest means. So I think deep in his mind, he thinks it's a dirty magazine. Hold on, he thinks you're on a dirty magazine. Yes, because we're at dinner and he's just like, mm-hmm, I saw what magazine you were on, Dad.

I'm like, well, I don't even know what you're talking about. And so he said, uh, people's sexy. man alive, dad? And I was like, oh, yeah, that's funny. That's funny. Yeah, it's a while back, son. That was a while back. And he just kind of shut up about it and never said a thing again.

So I'm thinking he's not proud of that. I would think if my dad was on the sexiest man alive cover of people's magazine, he'd be like, that's what's up. First of all, the Photoshop is terrible. I'm looking at this old Photoshop now. Eddie's in like an old jacket putting his palm on the back of his neck, like that Brett Eldridge pose. And it says, People's Sexiest Man Alive, producer Eddie.

It's obviously not real. It's the Blake Shelton pose, the Blake did. And you're not going to correct him. He's going to go to school and tell the kids that his dad was sexiest man alive. And they're all his age and they won't know the difference. They'll be like, oh, cool, he was sexiest man alive. Yeah, he was 12 years old. You know that.

You should know that. You should know that. No, you should know what that means. You should know. Like when I was 12, I was running the streets. I was at two jobs. I think, I don't know. The way he was acting about it, I feel like he's just a little ashamed of it.

Like, Dad, you should not be proud that you're on one of those magazines. They did the happiest song in country music. This buzz bingo looks back at all the songs in the past 60 years, and they have determined the happiest song in country music. It's a whole happy index. Amy, before I read you some of these, what do you think is the happiest song in your mind at country music? I don't know.

One that always puts me in a good mood is Chicken Fried by Zach Brown. Oh, that's a good one. Good one. Yeah. With me, I would say Friends in Low Places because I just think of, like, partying and yelling and Garth. than like this is one for me. Do you feel happy when this song?

Yeah, for sure. Even though it starts slow, it really like fires up a bar or a frat party. I haven't been to a frat party, but that's what I feel like they're all singing. Okay, here you go. Tricia Yearwood has the happiest song in country music.

A Happiness Index looks back at the last songs over 60 years and has picked Trisha's 1999 single, powerful thing as the happiest song in country music scoring a 67.85 on the index. Here is powerful things. I gotta tell you, I would have never picked that song.

I don't really remember it that much. I know, I would have picked like she's in love of the boy, even over that one. That's a beat song, it's a fun song. Amy, do you know a powerful thing? I mean, once you played it, I know that I've heard it before, but yeah, for me it wouldn't have come to mind.

I love, I got a barbecue standing in my white t-shirt. That puts me in a good mood every single time. You know, when you started singing, I also thought Brooks and Dunn, Boot Scoot and Boots Coot and Boogie, super happy. Any song that has a dance to it is super happy. You're a teacher in Santa Barbara, California, right? I am. Well, I'm glad that you're a teacher. And, you know, we're a teacher. And, you know, we're a teacher. And, you know, with Amy and Eddie, they've been struggling with homeschooling a little bit. So what grade are you a teacher, by the way? So I was a classroom teacher for a lot of years, and I've taught everything from second to eighth grade. But for the past five years, I've been a reading specialist.

So I work with groups of kids. Oh, wow. Can you help them on how to get their kids, like, motivated, how to freshen up their homeschooling a little bit? And maybe a lot of our listeners, too. What would you advise them? So one thing I just wanted to say, the reason I called in the beginning is because I just want to say that Amy and Eddie are doing an awesome job because they've made a place for their kids to do their work, they're on there with them, and that's really all that teachers, you know, are hoping from parents. I would say don't feel like you have to be the teacher.

And if your kids, it's supposed to be three hours of work. So if your children are struggling, you know, don't be afraid to reach out to the teacher and just, you know, nicely. Say we've been, you know, kind of having a hard time with this. Can you help us or is there something else we could do? Don't be afraid of that. And then I think the other thing to really keep in mind is this is a gift of time to really spend with your kids and teach them other life skills. Like anything that you think is important, cooking, baking, building things. You know, anything.

Those are life skills that are going to be with them forever and just as important as the actual academic work. Amy, what do you think about that? No, I love that. I think just some days if parents, if you want to throw, I don't know who you feel like this is the teacher, but kind of throw curriculum aside if it's just one of those days and it's hard and do something where you can educate. But within, you know, we've done, we've done baking. And I saw how much there was to teach her in that. And we used math and following instructions.

And then even we done gardening and teaching them about, you know, how to do that. So there are different ways to kind of throw in education. It may look different, but it's just for a little bit. Oh, but it's totally fine. And, you know, the other thing is, yeah, there's math. There's also reading, right, if you're reading a recipe. And then the other thing is even beyond that, I was thinking, I know your dad is in, is under quarantine right now and I'm really sorry, but, you know, even writing cards, you know,

would probably brighten his day and that's a writing lesson, but the kids wouldn't see it as a writing lesson or things like that. Yeah, yeah. Or I saw another teacher that has small children because you need to keep in mind to a lot of teachers have children of their own. So they're doing both. And they went on a little neighborhood walk and then they made art with the stuff that they found. and it was adorable and it was, you know,

it was a learning experience, so yes. Heck, this sounds fun for me to do. I don't even have kids. I'm like, I want to go walk and build art. Dang, Drew, you got me going over here. I love that. You can. You absolutely can.

And I was also thinking of Eddie and his son building your basketball goal or hoop or I know you called it a goal. You know, that's amazing teaching going on. I mean, if he's building things with his son and putting things together, I mean, what a great skill that is. for him. So, yeah, academic is important, but there are other ways of getting it. And then the other thing I was going to say to Amy is I don't know how long your kids have been speaking English. Did they speak English before or just since they got here? No, they've been speaking it for two

years. Okay, only two years. So the other thing for you to keep in mind, because you said this one time, you were saying you didn't know if it was harder because of that. Absolutely, because conversational language comes much faster, but academic language takes a long time. So, I mean, don't beat yourself up if they're having trouble understanding certain things that, you know, that just might take time. By the way, if you're wondering,

With Bobby. Tell me something good. A woman in Lisbon, Iowa is putting her sewing skills to good use to make sure everyone in her town has access to a face mask. Everybody needs them now. Deb Siggins has been hard at work, creating masks for local hospitals, the fire department, grocery store employees, friends and family. And now she's hanging the masks on a tree near her house. She has decided to create the giving tree.

And she's created it because she was like, wow, I didn't. realize it was so hard to find masks, so I'm just going to make them. She stalks the tree with about 30 at a time, people drive by, grab and go. She estimates she's made over 400 for the giving tree, and she'll keep doing it until people don't need it anymore. How about that? Love it. How about that? That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good.

So Eric Church recently challenged himself to write and record 28 songs in 28 days. Like, I'm seeing a lot of internet challenges, Amy, in quarantine. I don't feel like this is one of those. I feel like he just is Eric Church. And he did it. He wanted to go up into the mountains and write all these songs and record them in one day. Just for perspective, it takes Amy about three and a half to four hours to write a song. Anytime I've been writing songs or I have friends that are big songwriters, it can take a little less and it can definitely take more.

But about three and a half to four hours and then it takes another couple hours to record. So you're talking six, seven hours every. day with perfect circumstances to get a song written and recorded. And you're just mentally exhausted, but that's what he did. He did 28 songs in 28 days. He said it was the most uncomfortable thing in the world. There will be an album, but a release date is still up in the air. I was seeing some rumors of a double album over the weekend, but he told the Tennessee and quote, what if we put a bunch of pressure on me as a writer and the players as players, and what could we do? And so that's what they ended up with. So I actually, because everybody loves Eric Church, I've made my list of my top three favorite

And then with my kids and their education, being that they've only been America for two years and we're still so far behind, like, we don't have a choice. Like, I can't throw my hands in the air. We can't. Frustration is mounting as more families across the U.S. enter their second or even third week of distance learning. And some overwhelmed parents say, all right, this is the last week I can do this. Like, we're just done. But yeah, I guess you don't have the option because your kids are adopted and you're so far behind. You can't quit. Yeah, no, we don't even have the luxury.

Even during the summer, they've been in America, what, two summers, and then this summer, we're already planning what we need to do for them this summer. So Kristen Cavalieri went on Instagram yesterday to share that she and Jay Cutler have decided to divorce. They've been together nearly 10 years and they've got three kids. She said they got nothing but love and respect for one another and they're asking for privacy

as they navigate this difficult time within their family. Well, I hate to see that for the kids. That's who I hate to see it for. I hate to see it for the kids. Good for Jay. Which Jay, by the way, has yet. to address the split.

They live here near us. We know them a little bit. And let's just say good for Jay. All right, what else you got, Amy? According to a new survey, one out of four Americans say that they're definitely planning to take a celebratory trip once the pandemic is done. But odds are it won't be like a faraway trip. Like a lot of people say they're definitely not going on a cruise and nobody really wants

to travel overseas. Well, I was planning on as soon as it's over to go on a staycation. How do we feel about that? To like a different room? Oh, I mean. Yeah, I'm just going to stay. No, it'll be interesting whenever this is over. It's just going to be a while before it's over over.

It's going to be so gradual. You know, I was reading about some concert venues that are like, you know, we plan to start this up at the end of summer, but we're going to have blocks where you can't sit. Like we're going to spread everybody out. It's just not going to be a moment where it goes, poop, okay, we're back to normal. It's going to be slow and gradual.

We're going to be watching data. It's interesting. I don't plan on going on a trip, though. I'm not, can you imagine if everybody goes on and goes on a trip? We'll just have it again. It'll spread so quickly. We're at it again. I know.

We were talking in our family. We go to Colorado every summer to see our family there. And I couldn't even, my brain couldn't go there. My husband was trying to plan it. And I said, I just honestly don't see that happening. So I don't even want to get excited about it. I think it's exciting to think about 2021 and where you're going to go in 20, Honestly, that's what I think. Yeah, no. I mean, yeah, I think for our health and sanity,

we might have to just prepare ourselves for that. All right, what else you got? Drake just bought a bed, well, a mattress, not the whole, I'm not even talking the bed frame. I'm talking the mattress part for $395,000. What's in the bed? Yeah, ask me why. The answer is horsehair. And it took over 600 hours to construct. Horsehair allows the bed to conform more and allows for the bed to breathe more. And the mattress company that sells this horsehair mattress says that it'll last between 50 and 100 years.

And they provide a service where an employee comes to the owner's home to flip the mattress and massage it at no additional cost. Well, no, no, there's an additional cost. It's all built into the price of the bed. Holy crap. My uncle has a bunch of horses. He could make us one of those a lot cheaper than that. I think. Wow. And it's a black mattress. Dang, it does look sweet, though. Wow. Drake just has so much money. He's just entertaining himself with buying ridiculous things.

Seems like it. All right. Is that it? Yep, I'm Amy. That's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. In this segment, we're going to talk about me meeting Caitlin's parents for the first time. By the way, Caitlin's my girlfriend. We've been together for over five months now. Yep. We've been quarantined for seven and a half weeks. Almost two months? Yeah, almost two months. And by the way, if you're new to the show, I've never been engaged. I've never been married. So that's where I am.

I haven't met many parents either, as a matter of fact, ever. So I think that's why Amy was so excited, too, because Amy was calling us, what happened was a couple weeks ago, I said, hey, why don't we meet your parents halfway? This is all social distanced. Yep. And that's what happened to. We drove, they drove from Oklahoma. We drove from Tennessee.

we met at an open state park. And by the way, Amy, when we ate food, because we got there like 1.45 or so for lunch, the tables were spread out. It was really cute. My mom brought tables and spread them out, and she put tablecloths down and had chairs, and it was really sweet.

Oh, yeah, that's special. Yeah. We weren't, and there was no handshakes or hugs. So we kept it as social distance as possible, but we drove out and, were you nervous as to how I would react or what I would do? No. Honestly, I was not.

And that's a segment. We'll see you next week, folks. No, in fact, my sister texted me that morning and asked that. She said, are you nervous? And I said, oddly, I'm not at all. I'm just really excited. Why were you not nervous? I just think everything's so good.

Like, I think we're so good. I think I have a great family. I had no doubt that they would like you, and I had no doubt that you would like them. Yeah, and she was right. I mean, it was awesome. Amy, you weren't there. So what questions do you have about me meeting Caitlin's family? Who, like, did your dad, or it could be your mom, like, did they have any, or your siblings, any pressing questions for Bobby? Or was there anything like out of the gate where they wanted to know? Or over lunch, didn't even have to be right away. But does there any questions they asked that they needed to know from him? I can't remember any questions they asked you. Well, her dad wanted to see my bank statements for the past three months.

Not true. Listen, it was, her mom was funny. Her dad was super nice. The great thing was they brought a ton of stuff. We played a cornhole. Social distance cornhole. So Bobby and I only, we were on a team, so we just touched our bean bags. And then whoever we were playing, because my sister and her boyfriend was there because

they've been quarantined with my parents. So it was my sister, her boyfriend, and my parents. and so they touched the same bean bags and Bobby and I touched the same beam bags and we played social distance cornhole. And everybody went one, one, and one. But I'm super competitive, extremely. However, I will say that everyone there was also super competitive.

We had footballs, cornhole, we had ball gloves and softballs. They're a really competitive family. So that I love too. So there wasn't, nobody asked, like, Bobby, what are your intentions with our daughter? No. They wouldn't have asked me. No, no.

But I was never like that. like alone with anybody. I don't think they wouldn't have done that anyway. Yeah. Okay. I see that happened on The Bachelor, so. This is like a hometown date. Wow, I didn't get a rose. No, there was, no, you have a rose. Okay, thank you. But it was, it was fantastic. Her sister, she has a younger sister that's, what, like five or six years younger? Yeah, about five. Yeah. So, she was funny. It was, it was, I don't have anything to say other than it was just awesome. Caitlin, did you talk to your parents? Obviously, Bobby's there. So later, did you all talk on the phone once y'all were home and Bobby wasn't around? And what did they say? Oh, yeah. I can read a text. Should I read? Is that, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Here we go. Here's a text. By the way, if you're just trying to. Go ahead. No, you go ahead. I'm just going to tell everybody, Caitlin's here. I met her parents over the weekend for the first time. We drove four hours and 20 minutes. Her parents drove four hours and 45 minutes. We met at a state park on the side of the road that was. We went at a state park on the side of the road that was. open. We were there at me about an hour and 45 minutes total. So we drove about nine hours to hang

out for about an hour of 45. It was worth it though. Totally. Yeah, yeah. Do you have the text? Yeah. My dad said we had such a great time. It was really good to see you. And to meet Bobby, we really enjoyed him. Tell him thanks for bringing you to see us. I love you. There you go. Well, sounds pretty solid. If you were looking for any sort of scandal, you're not going to get at this segment. No scandal here. We did miss a few turns. Well, what happened was, well, she drove for about an hour on the way there because I was loading up my game show and making sure everything was posted right. And so she missed a turn in Memphis. And then I missed a turn. I missed a turn that caused us no time I'd like to add. And I missed a turn that cost us 16 minutes.

But we were playing this game. Kaelin and I are so competitive too. I love to compete, right? She does too. We played this game on the side of the road where you find it has to be assigned as an A. and then that counts as A, and you run the alphabet against each other to see who can finish first. Well, all I needed was a Z to win the game. All I needed as well was a Z to win the game. So what I did is I pulled up my GPS on my phone and tried to find a Zaxby's nearby, and I was just going to drive to it and act like I didn't know it was there and call out Z and win. Even if it was going to drive out of the way, I was going to find a Zaxby's to win the game.

And it made me miss a turn and we were 16 minutes behind. So other than that, it was great. Smooth sailing. But that was it. Anything else you like to know, Amy? Well, no, I mean, it sounds like it went pretty well. I think I know that once this whole quarantine situation is lifted, I'm excited for y'all to actually have real time together.

Like, that'll be, I don't even think it'll be telling of what's really going to happen. I think you genuinely enjoyed them. They enjoyed you, but I'm just excited for you all to have more time together. And the reason, that's why I was so happy. Like I was happy for Caitlin because I know that she hasn't been able to see her family in so long and she's super close to them. And then for you, I was happy that you are in a relationship with someone where you genuinely actually really want to meet their parents. Yeah, where they actually have a family. Well, you don't have a family to meet with me.

Yeah, I mean, I've met as close to a family as there is. I met Amy and Eddie and I've met Keith. Well, yeah, you met Amy and Eddie. I mean, you're talking to Amy right now. Yeah, but I mean, that's your family. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I've met them. Well, my, I don't want to jump to, of course, my, I jump way into the future, but you want me to say what I was in my head.

Whatever you want to say. Go ahead. Well, I know, because it seems silly, but I just was so, I couldn't stop. I had such a good feeling about it and I couldn't stop smiling about it. And that's why I called y'all because I just was. Why am I emotional? No, I am too, Amy. I was genuinely, like I could tell Bobby just doesn't, he's not going to go out of his way to meet somebody's parents.

Caitlin that he doesn't want to meet. And so for me, I was like, wow, he really, this, Caitlin, this is real. And I just think you're so good for him that I just am excited for your family just seems so great. And if he were to become part of your family, however that looks, like I feel like he would have. like a mom and a dad in his life that the kind that he didn't necessarily get to experience. And not that everybody has to have that, but that's the beauty of when you're in a relationship, you gain things in your life,

whatever that looks like. It may not be the mom and the dad aspect. It could be something else. But for Bobby, that's something that he would gain. That could be really cool. So that's why it was so happy. Amy's crying.

And Caitlin's talking about. Don't look at me. What do you mean? Don't look at you. I just don't even look at me when I cry. No, Amy, I agree. And they would be beyond lucky to have him too. All right.

Everybody, Mike, everybody's crying in here. I need tissues. I know. Okay. To conclude, it was really wonderful. I am excited to go back because they go and they play sports all the time and they play golf against each other and softball and basketball. And like, that's what I'm excited to go do and to dominate them all.

Okay. Yeah, you don't even know. All right. I'm like, I'm so excited Bobby has a family to connect with and build a relationship. Bobby's like, I'm so pumped to have a family to play games again. He's like to destroy them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're already plotting to destroy her brother and his wife and basketball.

Two-on-two. That's right. We're coming for you. By the way, my brother is 6-6 and played collegiate basketball. Oh, wow. And Bobby is like, I don't back down from anything. And my sister-in-law is very athletic.

You hear him a lot here on the show. I was one of the co-hosts too. But we do this thing called Music School every Monday. So here we go. I'm going to start with my part of this with maybe you know this song from Kenny Chesney. How Forever Feels? Big old hit for him, 1999. before that he put out as a single, he almost wasn't able to because Tim McGraw had already

recorded a version. But then McGraw decided not to release it. And all of a sudden, they're like, oh crap, we got two songs. So McGraw never released his version. Years later, it was included as one of his previous unreleased recordings. But I'm going to play it for you here. Here's a little bit of Tim McGraw doing How Forever Feels. You know what's crazy about that? And that Kenny's song has lived and is a wonderful song. I like the McGraw version better. Yeah, so do I. And maybe it's just the recording. Do you not?

But he said, you know, traveling with a band was rough. It was three dudes in a van traveling across the country, so he didn't like it very much. The band broke up. Then he decided to go so long. Man we started messing with it on the Well I just kind of started messing with it on the back of the us before we went to Europe for C to C to C.

And that song, and I was just like, dude, cool. And there's like such a different thing about it. It's one of those songs that, you know, it's like the first time you heard yellow by Coldplay, you know, or Springsteen by church. You know, I think it hit me like that. I thought it was a rad song. And so I started to mess with it and kind of putting it

in the vein that I would do it. And, you know, the writers felt good. And yeah, came together with a lot of boredom and time on my hands. How does that work? Can you real-time record a song, or do you all have to do it separately? Well, so the way, I mean, we're all still learning this stuff. You know, I was watching that world thing the other night, and I saw John Legend and Sam Smith do a song together,

and I was like, how are they doing this? And so then I'm realizing that's probably pre-recorded or whatever, but we just did a thing where I built the thing with an acoustic guitar and a vocal. Sent it to Kelby, he put his lap still on it. Sentent to Neil, he did percussion, got it back, and I mixed it, We turned it in and everybody really loved it, you know. So it was just kind of a fun thing. All right, so Jaron Johnston from The Cadillac 3 on right now.

And there is apparently a symphony in Jaron's bedroom. What in the world has happened there? I have no idea. Big weekend for you, Amy. Your daughter turned 13 years old, huh? I know. I have a teenage daughter. And it's so crazy. When we woke her up on Saturday morning to wish you're a happy birthday, Ben and I just looked at each other and thought, oh my goodness, in three years, she's going to be able to drive a car.

When you first met her at the orphanage, how old was she? She was five and a half or six. I posted a picture on my Instagram, if you want to see at Radio Amy. That picture, I think, is the first time we ever met her. But at that time, I had no idea, of course, she would be my daughter. In fact, I went back through pictures and just spotted her and was like, oh, my goodness, That's Dachira in that picture from my husband's first trip to Haiti. Wow, wow, wow, wow.

So I know you were wanting to do something in the backyard, but it was raining, right? Yeah, she loves movies and pizza and just hanging out. So I thought, well, how can we make a movie special? So I got this outdoor movie screen off of Instagram for like 15 bucks or something. I was going to set it up because we have a projector and just have a big screen movie outside. and blankets and all the things, and then it was pouring down right in the entire day. What did you guys end up doing?

So, well, we set up the big screen and projector in our living room and move some furniture around and just had a, it's almost like we had a big movie theater in our living room. So it wasn't quite the same feel, but coming up soon, we have good weather. We'll take it outside. What did you guys eat? Oh, pizza.

We ordered dominoes. She loves dominoes. Dominoes. Who knew? I don't even know the last time I ordered Dominoes, but when I asked her, normally she wants, we have this five points pizza close by. That's normally what she wants. But I said, it's your birthday. You get anything. And out of nowhere, she says, I want Domino's. I was like, okay. So I ordered tons of pizza, every kind known demand. Because even though it wasn't a real party, because nobody could come, I wanted it to feel like a big party. So I had every dessert and cake and cookie and cupcake known to man and also every pizza known to man.

Really? Yeah. Did she have fun? She did. I actually was really proud of her because she made the best of it, was smiling all day, was super thankful for whatever, even though it just was really just simple and then plans, even the exciting part of it for her got flipped because the weather and she just she still had a great day what did you guys watch did i miss that oh yes this was her choice oh you didn't say yet just like she got to pick the food she also got to pick the movie and she picked cats oh i saw your instagram of taylor swift dancing in a cat suit wait did you watch it i did of course that was her whole birthday party and it was horrible was it is Oh, it was.

Okay, so Stasheera loved it, though. She gives it, she thought it was great. And I don't know if she just thought it was great also because she was living her best life with all of her favorite things, food and candy and whatnot. But she probably gives, she did, I asked her, she gives it five cats out of five. And I give it one cat. That's funny. So I feel bad saying that because there's a lot of really great people in there.

the cat costumes were very cool. How they made them look like cats, it was amazing, but that was about it. Well, I'm glad to hear that everything went well, though. Considering. Yeah, considering.
