We will start the normal show talking about Joe Diffy, which sucks. Joe Diffy died, it sucks. And you'll hear that in the first segment. We just finished today's show, so... We talked about it a bunch during the show. I don't know if I haven't in me anymore to talk about it. On a different note that isn't sad and bums me out,

I did finish Tiger King all the way through. Did you finish it, Amy? I did. The interesting thing about Tiger King is that it's a crime story. It's a... What do they call it? Real crime? What's a true crime?

It's freaking true crime. And you're like, I saw Cardi B's putting out of fun to try to get him out of jail. Then that's not a spoiler because at the very beginning he's like on the phone in jail. But it's true crime. And also all the memes that are out. I saw Caitlin make a meme and then post it and then everybody started posting it without knowing that she made it. Oh, wow. Yeah. She made a meme of him, of him his mugshot with his blonde hair. And then she was like every girl at the end of quarantine and it was him. and so she didn't put her name on it

she just made it and posted it and everybody started posting it but I finished Tiger King it's true crime it's I would give it four and a half tigers and not because it's just so so good but because it has all the elements crazy people

true crime you leave going I have to keep up with that and see what's happening it makes you want to go YouTube it and look it up you know you want to go look up the hello all you cats and kittens out there you know her It's nuts.

And I posted a tweet that I said this, because I feel like in Arkansas we had a lot of Joe Exotics. In Arkansas, everyone had a Joe Exotic in their family. And if you can't find the Joe on your family, it's because it's probably you. And so, you know, not all exactly the same, because Joe Exotic is a tiger-loving, gun, totin, gay man with two husbands from Oklahoma.

All that's there. But you know what got me? What got me was the guy Doc and what they say he did with the other tigers. Didn't like that. I mean, I know, can that, I guess I don't know if that's, we don't know if that's true or not. If it's on Netflix, I believe it. Okay.

What do you rate it, the whole show? Oh, sure. Five tigers out of five. It does give us something to talk about, though, right? Like it's a good little pop culture creation. And the thing about Joe, too, is he's in jail for the 20 years. He can't even, he's been trying to get famous his whole life. And now he's famous.

He's in freaking jail. Right. I feel like there's definitely more to come. Like, there's going to be Tiger King Part 2. Joe Exotica. Joe. Even more exotic. Joe Exotic.

Joe, even more, yeah. Extra exotic. Can we get more from him from the inside? Well, did you know that it was a podcast before, was a show? No. And did you know that he also doesn't sing his own country songs? Who's singing them?

Other people? He lipsinks them. He says they're him. Oh, that's hilarious. He says they're him, but it's not. I did a whole deep dive on him. Oh, I did not know that. I can't even go in my closet and look at my leopard, like I have leopard pumps,

like shoes. I have a leopard coat. I have a leopard dress. Like, anytime I go on my closet and I see anything leopard, I think of him. Like, oh gosh. And you think of her Who always isn't... She's weird.

Oh yeah. Her whole... That's all she wore. Literally every item in her closet was animal print. Weird. She's weird, weird, weird. Glad you guys here.

Hope you had a good weekend. Hope you got out. If you had to go to the store, you got to the store and you were able to get the stuff you needed. There were still no toilet paper and no paper towels

at two grocery stores near my house. I'm just kind of waiting. I'm still okay. No, I'm out of paper towels, but I'm good on toilet paper. So, but they don't... Okay.

I have a place by me that has toilet paper. paper if you need it. I do and paper towels. It's probably, it's like, it's like been recycled five times and it's made out of, you know what. Okay. My anus no judge. Eddie went to the store. You bought eggs? Well, no, they've been out of eggs completely. So my wife's just kind of been looking online

because we have kids, you know, and like you got to have a little bit of normalcy so a couple weeks they're just like, where are eggs? Like, we need eggs. And so they've been completely out. But she found some place online. It's like a. Farm, organic, grass-fed chickens, and they send you these eggs, and they're super expensive, but you get a whole backstory on who the mom chicken is or whoever laid the egg. I don't want that. I don't want a backstory. I'm eating somebody's kids.

I don't want to know the kids that names I'm eating. No, no, no, no. Eggs are, like, they aren't hatched. They don't have a chicken in it. That's not her kids. They could have been her kids, but they're not her kids. All right. But it's bizarre that people would pay that much money for.

eggs with like all that. Eddie, you have to pay the writers of the stories, the backstories. They need money. That's true, I guess. They're writing the chicken books. There was a dozen of eggs that I saw for like $10. I'm like, that's a bizarre. Oh, my gosh.

Wow. There'd better be some good eggs. During coronavirus, quarantine average adults rate their happiness a level of 6.1 out of 10. About a point lower than normal. Amy, where are you out of 10 right now? Gosh, I go up and down. I think I'm, I guess on average I'll give myself a six because sometimes I'm higher, sometimes I'm lower.

My lows really are only pertaining to my dad. Yeah, because you can't see him. I can't see him. He's elderly. He's immune compromised. He is living in a facility where I just have to trust. And he has some anxiety. And then when I think about how there's employees that are working there.

And I just have to trust that they go home and they're not exposed and they don't bring it to work. So that's where my lows come from and just worried about the state of the world and other people that I don't know. But it weighs heavier when it's your family, you know? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Where are you? I'm pretty good. I mean, I'm good.

Yeah. It's your style, you know. I got two styles. I have one style and I live it all my life. I go absolutely hard, however I'm going hard. Either I'm on the road nonstop working my face off or I don't want to leave my closet, much less my bedroom or my house.

And because I'm committed to staying in the house and being a good soldier, I'm okay. I get to work, which is great. I get to play video games now, which, Amy, I don't want you to judge before I give you the story. But much like fantasy football allows guys to bond in that way of it brings us together, which we naturally wouldn't, these video games are doing that too. I talk to Eddie as he's holding his baby.

I talk to friends from Austin I haven't talked to in three years any more than like a text or seeing them quickly. Like we talk talk because we got our stupid headsets on. We're playing NBA 2K20. It's me, Eddie, our friend Steve Ortiz, Mike Sines, Michael Trejo, Brandon Ray. It's like, Mike D. Who doesn't say anything? He's the quietest guy ever, but he gets on.

And I'm like, is Mike D's headset broken? He's like, oh, man, I'm right here. I mean, there's no judgment here. I love that. In fact, I'm like, oh, shoot, should I buy my husband with us? I'm telling you, Amy, it is a great communicator for a, I mean, and also, until Brandon Ray finally got in our group. I was the only white guy. Yeah. It was me. That is true. It was me and all my Mexican friends, just like in Texas.

Amy, and we could cheat. We can speak in Spanish. Yeah. And they're like using Eddie Spanish word of the day. And all of a sudden, I'm like, I don't even know what's happening. But I do. It's been great. That's funny. You know what? Because Kate, hold like, let me finish. Because Caitlin, it's been great. That's why, otherwise it been fine. And we'll talk about that later on the show. She makes it. She makes it great. Yeah. She makes it. Better.

Absolutely. What, Eddie? Well, when we were playing the other day, you know, my wife was sitting in the bedroom and she was like, I'm not going to hate on. This is really cool that you get to spend time with your friends like this. And she's like, I have nothing with my girlfriends like that that we can do. And like, I guess you're right. Like, that is something cool. Like, we've just been not skipping a beat, just talking and playing games.

And I was, my dad was in the hospital and I was leaving the hospital walking to the parking garage. And it was a long walk from his room to the garage. And that's when the idea came to me. And I called my friend Lisa, who you'll hear is on it with me. And I said, hey, I want to do something for people that don't really know what's going on with them, but they might feel like they have some disordered eating. and I want them to feel freedom from that, and I don't want them to feel alone, and I want to break the stigma.

Because I feel like sometimes people don't want to talk about it because they're embarrassed or they feel ashamed. So that's why we did this, and I hope it helps people. Love you. Well, I always hate coming on and starting the show with bad news. And at this point, you probably have seen that Joe Diffy died, which really stinks. Love Joe. It was one of those dudes that, as a kid I loved because I would hear him on the radio on Kissin' 96. And then when I got to be an adult and I moved to Nashville

and I believe it was 2013, his first time Joe was ever on the show and I was super excited. And, you know, he came and he played and I remember ready and I just being like, holy crap, that's Joe Diffey, much like we have been with a lot of these guys from the 90s. But with Joe, him and I started being friends because, you know, he's an Opry member

and I try to play the Opry as much as I can. but I saw Joe, this is probably like 2015 or 16, and I saw him play the Opry, and, you know, mostly I try to get out of people's way, especially when people are performing. And so I saw Joe coming through and it was after the Opry. I didn't know if he would remember me from doing the radio show, but he stopped me and goes, hey, man, I said,

hey, Joe, what's happening? And he said, do you mind if I get a picture with you? And I was like, what weird world is this where Joe Diffy wants a picture with me. And I was like, sure, he goes, my daughter's a huge fan. We listen all the time. And that was really how our friendship started

was us playing at the opera at the same time. And I wouldn't have won up to him ever, but he was so nice. He was just, I mean, he's Joe Diffy and he came up and was like, hey, can I get a picture? Which, I don't know, always happens. And so, you know, Joe and I remain buds for a while.

And he'd been on the show a couple times. He had, you know, recently, Christmas, he came over. I was like, Joe, we need to do a bobbycast, like a long form podcast, because I don't know that I've ever heard you doing a super long interview. We kind of get to go through your whole career. And so he did. He came over, and it was awesome. And we hung out again. And, you know, we've probably hung out seven, eight times, professional or not professional or not professional at a professional event or like a music festival or something. But, man, just a good dude. And that's the thing you'll see mostly about people.

people talking about Joe Diffy is that people loved him. Most people listened to him growing up, and then once people got to know him, they loved him. Died a freaking coronavirus. Crazy. I know we talked about it last week when he was diagnosed. And we were like, wow, you just don't think, first of all, that someone's going to get it, that someone's going to get sick by it, and then someone's going to die. But it was here in town. I have a friend who works, we'll say in the medical world who was working with Joe. And it just, it, it, it wasn't good, obviously. Joe Diffy dead at 61 years old,

just days after testing positive for the coronavirus. So, you know, to his wife and family, just thoughts, prayers, hugs, everything over to you guys. What stinks too about corona is that you can't even go and be around them when they're sick. You can't even go give them a hug in the hospital bed because it's so contagious. And just such a delightful guy. You know how many times I meet somebody from when I was a kid and they just aren't that cool anymore? More than one for sure.

Somewhere between one, it's more than you would think. But Joe Diffy wasn't like that. I mean, what are we going to do? Let me play a hook of, let's roll through some of the songs real quick. Here's the hook of John Deer Green. Jam. How about a little pick-up man? Here you go.

Here is my favorite. Prop me up beside the jukebox. Or I remember being a kid and, you know, sometimes you'd learn all these words to songs. And I learned all the words to third rock. from the sun, but I didn't make a big deal about it. And I would just wait for the radio to come on so I could sing them all back and people be like, dang, I just wanted to play cool.

I don't want to be, but I learned all the words because there's a lot of words to it. And so here's third rock from the sun. Welcome to Earth, third rock. I mean, there's just a lot. We could do if the devil dance in empty pockets, we could do ships that don't come in. There's just a lot. And so I hate coming on here and it seems like that's been the case for a few times in the past couple weeks.

Yeah! Hey, what is sorry? How do you play that, Ray? It's very simple. You have these colored little... ponds they look like and you move them around if you land on somebody else's you get to knock them off and say sorry and you're playing this every night pretty much lunch got it for us for some i don't know it was a christmas gift or something

we love it it's quick it's known for being about a 10 minute game oh wow uh okay well let's do quick one let's see well now it's kind of just a grab bag right I mean, after monopoly, it's just a grab bag. Well, I'm going to go with, because I don't really have a compass on this, I'm going to go with Trivial Pursuit because it was the one I played, loved, and was good at. You know, if there was a board game that I felt like pound for pound, I could go in, bet on myself, and dominate, it was Trivial Pursuit. Other than that, I kind of stink.

So I'm going with my first pick, Trivial Pursuit. Amy. I might have to go to the referee on this, but is Twister a board game? I would say so. I would say so. The wheel is on a board. Something's on a board?

Okay, I'm all in, Twister. Okay. But what about if I want to pick Naked Twister next? Oh. Is that possible? Okay, okay. It's a good. Ew.

What? You never played Naked Twister with R. With all your college roommates? No. Okay. No, I've never played Naked Twister. I play by myself every Thursday. I get in around a naked twister alone.

Lunchbox, your first pick. Oh, man, I was worried Amy was going to take this. I thought all, everybody would have this one. It's a home run. It's Candyland. And I don't know Candylands. So what is Candyland? Candyland, it's more of, I mean, I guess it's

more of a female game, but you do like... Is it? Is it a female game? I thought it was a kid game. It's a kid game. My sister had it when we were kids, so I associated it and we played it all the time when you're like going to the gumdrop forest and you get all these lollipops and it's, you try to, you just go through the board and you try to get to the candy land.

I don't know exactly how, but yeah, you have like different little forest you go through. You draw cards and the card has a color on it, whether it's red, yellow, and then whatever that is, your little person hops to those colors. Or it could have a candy cane on it and you hop to the candy cane. Do you get to eat candy? Sometimes it'll send you. No, it's really just not. Anytime my kids want to play, I'm like, really?

Okay, so in the first round, Morgan number two takes Monopoly. Really, it's in a different class. That game's in a different class of its own. That's why we have to have good second third round picks here. Ramundo has Sari. I have trivial pursuit. Amy has Twister and Lunchbox has Candy Land. All right, that's the first round.

Still a few of them on the board there. Hmm, no one's picked Mousetrap yet. Let's just take a look and put this in my pocket. All right, Lunchbox, since you are last in the first round, you now get to go first in the second round. What is your pick in the board games draft? Yeah, this game I'm pretty terrible at you. You do not mock me on your team if you're going to play this game

because you've got to draw a lot. It's called Pictionary. Is there a board for Fictionary? Yep, you've got to move out the board to win. Okay. I just just draw things and keep points. I had it written down, but I was going to, similar to Twister, I wasn't sure, but I have it on my list. I think what I've learned from asking you guys about all these games is that we never had the real version.

We had like a bootleg version with no rules. So we didn't have the real game and we didn't play it the right way. All right, lunchbox is in. Amy, what is your next pick? Wow, okay. I'm going to go with Operation? Good game. Good game for sure.

That's a good one. I was really sitting on that one hoping I get in the second round. and you could never get the funny bone like the funny bone okay I get it but this time I'm gonna try to get that oh come on and the pencil

yeah good luck with that pencil all right over to oh it's me now huh my favorite board game in the second round I think I'm gonna go to the referee on this one and just ask a question

Mr. referee are you there I'm here yes what's your question connect four considered a board game? I would say it's not a board game. I'm going to look it up online real quick, but I like the game, but it's not really on a board.

Amy, go ahead. Wow. I would think that it's similar to checkers. It's just vertical. The referee says no, though, so I can't pick it. Is that your final? Scoob, Steve?

I'm looking right now, and I'm saying that it is not a board game. Okay. It's a game. Loser. I'm gonna get kicked out of the game I'm gonna get to be the first person ever kicked out of it

Wait no I see one here I see something here It says it's a two player board game So I have to give it to you Ooh do I even want to pick it though I was just asking you know I just asking Okay if you like it you could have it

We do. Yeah, for like a week. Well, because my dog, Josie dug it up. But like I really feel like given the current state, Like this would be the time. I learn how to grow food. And I feel like my neighbor just gave me a sign. Garden might need to come back.

And also pretty cool of him to thank us with food seeds or plants or garden seeds. And also just thanking you with something other than thank you. Although thank you would have been nice enough, but that he was thoughtful enough to go, hey, appreciate that. And here's something I can do for you. Yeah, so thoughtful. Yeah, that's pretty cool. Oh, I told you guys about how my fence, blew over during the tornado a few weeks back and it, you know, connects my neighbor's yard with my yard and I didn't know who was supposed to pay for it. And the fence has just been laying there. And so finally, I stepped up and I took a note and I taped it to my neighbor's back door and I said, hey, man, we're in this together. I'll split the fence cost with you. And I taped it to his back

door. So I feel like I'm a bigger person instead of just waiting for him to say something. I put the olive branch out there and we're going to split the fence. I thought it was determined on this show you should pay for the whole fence because it was your offense. Yeah, yeah. You determined that on this show, but then I saw people on Twitter saying, oh, just split it. So I was like, I'll try the split it angle. And so I said, we'll split it. And he agreed. He was like, yeah, that sounds like a good idea. So, hey, if he's down with it, and I'm down with it, saved me a little bit of money. So you knew you were trying to get one over on him, though, right? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, just making sure. Hey. Hey, what's the

hat? All right, finally, Eddie? This weekend, I was looking over my lawn. I was like, man, that grass is starting to come, you know, spring is here. Time to mow the lawn. I was like, but you know what? My son's 12 years old, and I started thinking back, I was around 12 when I started mowing the lawn for the first time. So I got him out of his room while he was there watching movies in his iPad. So it's such like a teenager right now.

He's 12, but I was like, get in the lawn more and you're going to cut the grass. And he did it. And I'll tell you what, he did a good job, man. So now, guess what? Daddy's not going to cut the lawn anymore. I remember when I was taught how to mow the yard, I was like, man, this is cool. until the second time I had to mow it. I was like, this stinks now.

The first time's always fun because you get to work a big piece of equipment you never work before. But then it's just, but that's how I made money ages 10 through 13 was mowing everybody's yard. I would drag my pull mower around the neighborhood and go and knock on doors and be like, Ms. Thompson didn't even mow your yard today? And sometimes she would let me sometimes she wouldn't. But I would haul that thing around all the way from 9th Street to 3rd Street. Anybody let me mow their yard I would. 10 bucks a pop unless it was a big yard and then it was $15.

but that's how I bought school closed it. I bought a bass amp from just mowing yards one summer. That's one I thought I was going to play bass guitar like Paul McCartney. There's a whole thing, Eddie. Don't worry about that. That's cool, though. Let me know if he starts to get annoyed with the mower or not, because I feel like he's probably going to be two weeks before he mows it again,

And finally, sad news, Joe Diffey died over the weekend from the coronavirus. He was 61 years old.

2018, what was the band thinking? That's about the time right before you guys really hit hard. Yeah, 2018, two years ago, was when it sounds crazy, but that's when Make It Sweet happened. Usually we have like a list of songs that we kind of have to go in and record.

And we had songs, but we didn't have a plan. So since we didn't have a plan, we had studio time. We decided to go in, write a song, and record it in the same day and see what happened. So that was when Make It Sweet happened. And that sort of set the tone for the whole thing. I can't believe that was that long. We went. On the phone now with Matt Ramsey, the lead singer of Old Dominion.

What song is it that you wrote where you knew you had a hit? on your hands. Oh, it was one-man band, for sure. Really? Yeah, because yeah, yeah, that was like immediate. Like, we went on tour. First show was in Chicago in January, and that wasn't necessarily going to be the next single yet, and we played it, and people were already singing it, like, like louder than some of the hits that we had already had, and it was just kind of like a, you know, grat track at that point. So it was, such an immediate response to that song. Yeah, that's my, that's my jam.

That's my jam, too. As soon as it came out, I remember hitting you up being like, this is my favorite song of my whole life this week. Yeah, crazy. Yeah. That was definitely the biggest one. Listen, a big fan of what you do. You know, I'm a massive Old Dominion fan. When it comes to albums, I don't think Bansch put them out anymore unless your name is Old Dominion. That's the only album that I care to invest all my time into,

because you guys just do hit after freaking hit. And the songs you don't put on your record, other artists take them in. then they have number one. It's like you're just passing out charity hits. Yeah, the University of Texas at San Antonio reached out to me, and they said, can you make a video with a message for the class of 2020? What advice do you have for them? What do you want them to know as they become? alumni because there's going to be no graduation.

So I'm basically the commencement speaker. They're going to send this video to all the graduating seniors and they want me to do it. Oh, that's why you think you're the commencement speaker. Yeah. Because there is no commencement speaker. Correct. And so this is basically my chance to impress them and then maybe down the line, they'll have me be the commencement speak whenever, you know, the graduation comes back.

Speaker? There you go. The commencement speaker, yes. Yeah. Isn't that what I said? No. No. That's okay.

So how did you end up going to the University of Texas at San Antonio? Well, my mom, I mean, really, I had no aspirations when I was done with high school. I just was lazy. And my mom was like, hey, what about UTSA? And I was like, mom, that's fine, whatever. And so my mom filled out my application. There was no essay that you had to write. So all you had to do is literally just fill out the piece of paper and mail it in.

And my mom did that. And I got a letter, you know, a few weeks later saying you've been accepted to the University of Texas at San Antonio. Did you have dreams of going to college as a kid? Not really. I had dreams of being on the real world, and I didn't think you needed to go to college for that. And so, I mean, I was just like, whatever happens happens. Once I graduated high school, I was just proud I graduated high school.

I thought that was a big accomplishment. And it is for a lot of people. I just wonder what you thought about doing after high school had you not went to college. I really, just real world, that was my only thing in life because my parents didn't graduate from college. So college wasn't a thing. Like, it's not like everybody went to college. Like, oh, big deal. I just thought, oh, people work after college.

Cool. That's what I'll do. So you go to school and you graduate. Yep. And I'm awesome. And I'm like, I'm like the star of the campus. I'm an orientation leader. I mean, they have my, you know, they have my, what do you call it,

mural up on one of the walls there. I mean, it's amazing. Wait, aren't you just one of the people out of like a ton of people that are painted on the wall? Yeah, I'm in a mosaic. I'm a tile mosaic, whatever you call that. Didn't they cut your head off? Yeah, they did. it. It's just my arms and my shoulders. Yeah. Yeah. Your mural of you. Well, when do you plan to send this

video to them? In the next week, I have to send it. And I mean, I am really going to take this serious. I'm going to get dressed up. Maybe wear a UTSA shirt so people realize, yeah, what up, UTSA. And I'm going to listen, guys, just because you're, let's workshop some ideas. Here we go. Go ahead. Idea number one to send over to them. Listen, guys, just because you're graduating college doesn't mean you had to stop having fun. Don't forget to let loose every once in a while. Okay, that's all right. Like, mental health. break up with your college chick or college dude. I mean, there are so many people out in the world. Don't get stuck in a relationship that, I mean, it's like a high school relationship. Most likely you're not going to marry each other. You're only 21, 22 years old. Explore the world.

If you get back together later, do it. But break up. You're going to put that in the video for all the, It's graduating seniors. Yes, because if they are moving cities, let's say they're moving to California from San Antonio.

They're not going to stay with their college chick. I mean, that's just not realistic. So be smart about it. Amy, what do you think about that advice? Oh, sound. Sound advice. I was reading this story about this eight-year-old boy.

And he's keeping a journal as he goes through homeschooling because of coronavirus. And they took a picture of it, wrote some of it out. He writes, It's not going good. Says the boy whose name has been. Says my mom's getting stressed out. Mom's really getting confused. We took a break and my mom can figure this stuff out.

And I'm telling you, it's not going good. That's so funny. I bet that's so many parents out there that are working with homeschooling their kids. And Amy, this is the week you have to start working with your kids, right? Yeah. So thankfully, my husband has been able to handle it, but I know that it's about to be my time. And payback is probably coming, even though it's not my fault. They got stuck in Texas.

But yes, it's going to be quite interesting. Eddie's homeschooling his kids as well. And so, Eddie, you're teaching Spanish to your kids, which has led us to this segment called Eddie Spanish Word of the Day. Do you have another one today? Yes, I have one, yes. Okay. You've taught us two words.

Don't go full Spanish on us. Okay, that meant yes, I have a word. Of course I do. All right, here is Eddie's Spanish word of the day. Here we go. Today's word of the day is Corazon. Do you guys know what that means? Coraeson.

Yes. I think so. What's that mean? That means heart, guys. The heart inside of your body. Now let me use that in a sentence. Don't tell my khorason. My achy breaky,

Here's Amy's pile of stories. So last week, Bobby, I mentioned that maybe the show could get together on Zoom for a virtual happy hour. But now doctors are coming out and saying, no, no, people need to reconsider all these virtual happy hours. Yeah, we should shout them out. You know, I'm not even on Zoom. But I did see a story too where tops at Walmart are selling more than bottoms because of people on Zoom or FaceTime at work. They never, their pants don't have to ever be seen. So they're only buying the top half of stuff. Yeah. I have how to disinfect your home according to a microbiologist. Okay. How many of these are there? So I feel like there's about four things. Okay. So first of all, you're probably washing your hands a lot,

but if you've got your hand sanitizer with you, before you approach your door, go ahead and spray your hand down before you touch your doorknob. I often sanitize my sanitizer. Just saying, just throwing that out there. Wow. Yeah. Okay. If you, You have left to go to the store when you enter your home, put your hall of goods on the floor. Don't carry it anywhere in the house past the floor. You don't want to put your bag down on the counter, which I had to go to the grocery store the other day, and I wasn't thinking when I walked back in. And sure enough, I just put my bags right on the kitchen counter.

And it just gives it more areas that it's touching just in case because you haven't been, you don't know where those bags have been. Just so keep them at the front door and unpack from there and immediately watch. everything off. Yeah, bags and clothes, you know. And I hate to be so forward thinking on this, but for years, as soon as I got home, I take all my clothes off immediately and just drop them at the door. Well, that was my third thing is taking off shoes and clothes.

Like, if you did run errands or go to the store, you were around people, then, yeah, change clothes right away, wash those, get into something else. And then obviously you need to just be washing your hands thoroughly. Like, that's just a given. I'm always going to keep saying that. Because still, I need my kids and other people to hear it. 20 seconds, wash your hands all the time. It feels like I've been teaching that for 10 years.

I hate for this to happen, Amy, for my, finally, the gospel of Bobby to come about. Caitlin has these gloves that she's now putting on her hand because she's washing her hands so much. They're drying and cracking. So they're gloves for moistureizing. Yeah, which, so there's moisturizing inside and then she can grab stuff on the outside.

outside, but then it's really just because their hands hurt so bad from always washing her hands. Oh, I gotcha. Yeah. I guess if people don't have those gloves, a good tip will be to like keep some hand lotion on deck like when you're... But then put sanitizer on top of the lotion, so the lotion is sanitized. Well, that'll dry it back out again. And then I'm sure a lot of you know by this point, but we're sad to report that Joe Diffey has passed away. He died on Sunday at 61 years old. due to complications from coronavirus. Man, oh man. That was the first one of this that really was like,

like a punch in the gut, because I know Joe. I knew Joe. I don't know which one you say in that situation, but it stinks. Met his whole family. His whole family came with him over to the house. It's just, it sucks, man. It's time for the good news.

With producer Eddie. Tell me something good. Well, coronavirus has put a stop to a lot of things lately, sporting events. They closed down restaurants, but one thing it could not stop was a little boy's adoption. Alex Ray is a little kid. He's 12 years old out of Great Falls, Montana, and he was scheduled to be adopted last week, but they didn't know if it was going to happen because of the virus.

So they said, you know what? The judge said, not only are we going to make this happen, but since Alex is a huge Star Wars fan, we're going to play Star Wars the movie, a new hope on all the TVs in the courtroom. Then before this all goes down, I'm going to have a battle with Alex with lightsavers. and then when the signing went down, they played the Star Wars theme. How cool is that? That's so cool.

And I got a text and I was like, Joe Diffy died. And I was like, what? Like, I got a chance to know Joe in the last couple of years. It's just such a good dude. And I, like many of you, grew up listening to Joe Diffy. I was born in the 80s, so the 90s were right in my will. House with country music. Amy favorite Joe Diffey song?

Prop me up beside the jukebox. Yeah, me too. Prop me up if I die. I thought you'd be more of a John Deere Green Girl if I'm being honest with you. It's a romantic song. I mean, now that you mention it, it is pretty awesome. Well, we had a whole deal this morning

where I talked for a long time about Joe and how Joe and I met in the relationship that we had. and you know what, it just stinks, it does. He stopped by the house, and we did a long-form bobbycast. I reposted it. If you want to go search for the bobbycast and hear the interview I did with Joe, we talked for an hour. Joe talked about going to see Garth at a showcase

and realizing that him just seeing Garth way early on, there was something really special about Garth. Here's that clip. I went to see, I went to a showcase where it was Garth, and I was sitting around having a beer, you know, talking to some friends of mine. and I look up, and he's playing it up there. And I saw an aura around him.

I'm not kidding yet. So I started looking around the room. I thought, well, the lights got to be weird. That's something weird going on here. And I couldn't find any reason that he had a blue aura around him. I swear to the good, it was the weirdest thing. You know, I was nervous to be friends with Joe for a little bit, because any time you're a kid and you look up to somebody, even just musically,

I would listen to Joe Diffey on the radio all the time, I'm Kissing 96. And I remember the first time Joe came in. and then we started playing the opera at the same time. And then I was a bit nervous. And then you just realized he's a cool dude. And there was a whole part of when Joe and I were talking to where he was nervous because he got to hang around George Jones.

And then they later became friends. And here's Joe talking about that. Took me a couple of times before I was able to converse with him because I was just really, I was so nervous. And he was just such an icon in my eyes. But I found that later on he was just so country. you know, and he's like talking to your grandpa. He couldn't hear it real good, you know.

So you'd say something and he'd go, oh, you know, so then I got him to sing on a song with me, and it was really cool too. I got a text from, I won't say who, is a big country singer. And he said the only time they've ever heard Joe Diffey do a long-form interview was this that I'm playing back some clips from, from the Bobbycast. And just a good dude. Just a good dude with good songs. They say salt of the earth kind of guy.

You know, when Joe came in in 2013, it was a big deal for me again because I loved his music so much. I think, Eddie, you probably did too, right? Oh, of course. I loved him. And back then, too, it was like if anyone had a mullet, be like, nice Joe Diffy mullet. That's true. That was his thing. He wasn't the only one with it, but he was the leader in the clubhouse of mullets.

That's right. Like, he was King Dingling of Mullets, for sure. And so Joe came in and he said, I'll play whatever you want. And I was like, all right, I want you to play prop me up beside the jukebox. This is the first time he came in the show. And I'm going to play you a clip now, really one of the highlights of us being able to do this show. Here's Joe and I singing,

It's amazing. I love life right now. Lenny rocked it. Man, that makes me sad hearing that. Ugh, it stinks. Yeah, that's hard. Joe got coronavirus and Joe died yesterday. It's 61 years old.

It sucks. It sucks. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So this is a personal tell me something good. And how cool is this phone call I got from my sister? So she calls to tell me that this man in her community, Pagosa Springs, Colorado, called up the shop, her little coffee shop, and said,

hey, I'm calling a different food place every day of the week and asking them to make lunch for our local hospital. Today I'm calling you. Here's my budget. And lunch is for about 126 people. Thank you. Wow. And so not only is he looking out for his local restaurant and coffee shop spots or places that can make food because, you know, my sister has, they had to put seven people on suspension because they just don't, they can't afford to pay them their money. So anyway.

and then the hospital, he's looking out for the healthcare workers. So it's just a win-win all around. I thought it was a good idea on how you can look out for your community. Now, it certainly doesn't have to be for 126 people, even if it's just for one person, you're looking out. Well, speaking of that, I'll brag on Mike D, our rider for a second. Mike D didn't get a haircut this month, but you still found a way to get back to your barber, right?

Yeah, I reached out to her, and I was like, I'm going to go probably anyway this month, but I can't, so I'll go ahead and pay you what I would have paid. and then they're also doing at Mike's Barbershop they're selling T-shirts. Yeah, they sell T-shirts and you can pick the barber you go to and that money goes directly to them to help them out.

So it's just trying to find ways if you can help, to help, you know, some of us, like I'm able to still work from home. So my paycheck is still coming as of right now, but a lot of people aren't, especially in the service industry. So if you can help out, please do. Amy, that's a great story.

Thanks for sharing that with us. That's what it's all about. One of my favorite segments every week is when Eddie and I get to geek out about music. And I think people are really liking this segment, too. We call it Bobby and Eddie's music school. You know, we've been able to talk about Joe Diffy this morning and his career, his life, his contribution to country music. Joe Diffy was born in Duncan, Oklahoma in 1958, where he lived until first grade, moved to Texas and Washington and Wisconsin, and then back to Oklahoma to finish

high school. He began his music group with a gospel group. His parents claimed he began singing at three years old. You know what's weird about that is, I don't know, parents say all kind of stuff, right? Like, I'll be on an idol and this kid would be like, I was one and a half. My mom heard me start singing. I'm like, you can't even prove it. Stop, but you were one and a half. Joe became serious about singing after he started singing with a gospel group called Higher Purpose. And then he sang bluegrass. And then he went solo. He had some jobs that outside of music were quite dirty. He used to work in oil field, drove trucks, he pumped cement out of wells. He worked in a metal factory.

Like, you know, that showed dirty jobs of Mike Rowe. Like, Joe was basically that guy before he started into country music. He was an athlete. He played four different sports during high school. Football, baseball, golf, track. He was best all-around male athlete. He went to medical school. Like, Joe Diffey was a renaissance man.

Yeah. After he graduated high school, he went to Cameron University in Oklahoma, was going to medical school, even earned three years worth of credits toward it. Then he dropped out and got married. And it's like, you know what? do music. Became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1993, Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. He's a Grammy winner. He's just done a lot. And he passed away yesterday, which really sucks. And, you know, I started off the show. Amy mentioned her pile. We did a segment about 20 minutes

and so on it. But I just couldn't do a music school without talking about Joe one more time. Joe leaves his wife behind of two years. You got five kids. So, Eddie, anything you'd like to say about Joe Diffy in music school? Man, you know, it's weird because last time he was here, he was still touring. So it's bummed. And I remember thinking, like, I'd love to catch a Joe Diffy show. And I was just never going to be able to do that.

But we still have his music and we're going to miss Joe, man. All right, time for Eddie's version of music school. we did a whole Joe Diffy one there so let's switch it up a little bit here we go you know when you hear songs on the radio you usually think oh the artists who's singing it wrote it but these are songs that we know that were written by other artists

not the artist that actually sings the song yeah so it's like a famous artist who wrote it for another famous artist right correct yes and this is one the first one I'm going to start with is one that of course I think you know and I know and it's a pretty cool backstory but good directions by Billy Currington he did not write it

The song was actually written by Luke Bryan. Bam. What's funny too is that Luke actually planned to call his debut album Good Directions, but when Billy Currington recorded this, he's like, well, I can't do that anymore. That version Luke does is really good, too, obviously. By the way, Luke's got the number one song this week, so congrats to him. All right, Eddie, give me another one. All right, Miranda Lambert's Mama's Broken Heart.

Yeah. Not written by Miranda. It was actually written by Casey Musgraves who wrote it. And really, I had to, Miranda had to beg Casey to record this song. And the only way the deal could go down is if Casey could sing the harmonies in this song. So if you listen closely in the song, Casey Musgraves is doing the harmony. My family came back. Yeah? So it got, yeah. I mean, of course, it was quiet having them gone, which was some good time for me, but it was way too long. They were only to be gone, like, five days. And it ended up like two weeks. So I was so ready for them to come home.

And is your husband healthy again? Yeah. Yeah. He just had a, he did not have anything coronavirus related. He did have some sort of stomach bug. Yeah, he's, we're totally in the clear. I know, I know. You sure?

Yes, I'm sure. Obviously, it's been days. I mean, fine. How about you? Did the Opry again Saturday night, you know, and they're being a little stricter on us. We just want to make sure the opera continues. You know, their whole thing is don't let the circle be broken. So just thousands of weeks in a row that it's happened.

So we're able to do it. And we did it with Vince Gill, Amy Grant, and their daughters. And it was really cool. And you'll be able to watch it again this Saturday live stream or a lot of affiliates pick it up, a lot of dish. So that was great. American Idol was on last night. It would be on tonight too.

I did that. You know, something that's happening here is a lot of hospitals can't get those in 95. masks, I believe that's the term? In 95? Yes. And so they're asking Nordstroms to make masks. They're asking all these stores. And they're not in 95, but they're as close as they possibly can.

Like the CDC is recommended a certain type of cotton. And so I have a friend who's a tailor, and he has been making masks. That's what they're doing now, because they don't have any clothes to make, so they're making masks. And so I was on this show last week talking about it. I said, well, I've been giving him money. And some listeners had my Venmo. so they were like just give the mask to

so anyway listeners kept Venmoing me money and I was able to give him 2,500 bucks through the B team to just keep making masks for medical professionals which is pretty amazing

and I tried to give him another 500 because they hit another 500 yesterday and I guess I've paid too much on Venmo I don't know there's a limit how do I get a high roller card on Venmo this is bull crap it's like at the casino you're like I should be

I should have a high roller high roller account but I'm just giving them money you know as much as they can so they can help out the nurses and doctors and so that happened

you know went to Starbucks try to go to build the basketball goal outside but you know don't have the right tools and went to Home Depot and the line was 45 minutes out of the door

Caitlin made cheesecake she made Eddie a Trace Lechase cake unbelievable And she's never made either one of them. But she's just crushing the cooking. It's been so good having her here. Like it really has been, I think for a couple reasons.

One, you know, I haven't had to be by myself, which I don't even think was that big a deal for me. Honestly, I'm fine being by myself, you know? But she has just been great. We've been together three weeks every day all the time. And it's not like we're always like mushy-gush, because we're not. But I think our relationship has been fast-tracked a little bit. in really the best way, because I think it was going to get fast track to, boy, this ain't

going to work, or boy, this is going to work. You know what I mean? I agree. And it's just working wonderfully. Like, it is just, we have our space, we spend our time together, we watch our shows, we try to have a normal life as much as possible. I feel bad for her because I get to come up here and go to work in the morning. And she does some work from her computer.

She does software sale, so she's able to do some of that stuff, but she just sits in the living room. She faces out with her friends. but it's really, it's just really been great. So I did that. What else were you going to say? I was just saying, I mean, you know that I'm thankful that she's here. I know that you could handle quarantine alone just fine, but I think that I'm glad that you have her in your life.

And then also, how horrible would it be if y'all were both self-quarantining thousands of miles apart? Yeah, who knows what would have happened with your relationship? I know what would happen. There'd been a lot of webcam on Weiner. Oh, shut up. I don't even want to. Why? Because that's not her thing.

Go get in on that. There you go. Bone Show. Mike D, our head writer, watch the Frozen movies because I was shocked when movie Mike hasn't seen

possibly the biggest Disney movie in the past 20 years. Right? Yeah. I just don't like musicals. I don't know if cartoons are musicals though. But they just go into songs

for no reason. I'm not into those. But doesn't Lion King just start singing songs too? Yeah, but I watched that when I was a kid. As an adult, I don't get into the musicals as much. Well, I was deeply disappointed that the guy I go to, the Dr. Fauci of

movies, wasn't able to give me a movie review. So Mike D spent the weekend watching both Frozen movies. I watched both Frozen movies. All right, go ahead. And I didn't want to like it, but ended up loving it a lot. The first one. The first one, yeah. I think after you watch the context of the movie, you realize it's a story about sisters. I thought it was going to be a straight on musical. But after learning that, I was like, this is a really great story. And people don't really talk about that as much. Do you have siblings? Yes. I have an older brother and an older sister.

Did it make you think about them? A little bit, yeah. And it kind of like as a kids and how your relationship develops over time. You're the youngest, huh? Yeah, I'm the youngest. You're the baby? Yep.

What do they think about you doing the whole radio thing now? They still seem to me as the same little brother. Yeah. Yeah. We did a show in Austin. I did a stand-up show at the Paramount Theater, which is a place I love, because I went to so many shows. there. I went and it was a great show. It was a sold-out crowd. And the great thing was Mike's

parents got to come watch him do stand-up because Mike D would open up and do 10, 12 minutes. We have a musical artist that I would bring on tour with me. And then I would do an hour of stand-up. And so on this show, your parents had never seen you do stand-up, right? No, don't even really know what I do here. And you don't even talk, really. No. Like, he was quiet, Mike forever, because Mike doesn't say words. Like, Mike's met Caitlin a few times, and now she likes him, but at first she asked me, she goes, hey, does Mike ever talk? And I was like, yeah, yeah, it takes a minute. And then he still doesn't talk. Mike, D.N. and I would travel across the country working because he would travel with me and produce the show when I was on the road. We would do entire two and

three hour flights sitting beside each other and not see a word to each other because neither one of us felt like we had to. Yeah, it was nice. We're not known as neither one of us are known for our talking ability outside of performance. No. So, okay, so you gave Frozen One, what do you rate it? I give it four out of five bicycles. I got a point here. Your Your parents came to that show. They'd never seen you do stand-up. No. And I don't know if they even knew all of what your jokes. Like, they don't speak fluent English.

No, I don't think they got it fully. But they thought it was crazy that you were on stage doing jokes. They thought it was crazy to see people, like, react the way they did. And then also, like, afterwards seeing, like, people come up to me and, like, knowing who I was. Yeah. Like, what is happening? This is my son. Like, why do people know him?

That's awesome. Your Frozen review is? Four and a five bicycles. Okay. So then he had to watch Frozen 2. Yeah. Okay. Well, everybody.

was saying that the music is better in Frozen 2, and I agree with that, but I thought the story in Frozen 1 was better. I think it's just kind of a continuation of that. You kind of find out more about like the parents, but I thought Frozen 1 was better. Okay, and what did you write Frozen 2? 3.5 out of five else's. Okay, so all in, you like the Frozen movie. Yeah, I like them. Okay. Speaking of movie reviews, Morgan No. 2 is on the phone as she works from her home with the phone line. Morgan number two, good morning. Hey guys, how's it going? Pretty good. And when you and I spoke apparently i'm into signing movies amy to everybody because i also assigned more because morgan number two binge watched all of the star wars movies in a weekend like i've heard of people running marathons

or doing triathlons or iron mans that's nothing morgan number two watch nine star wars movies in a weekend that's the real champion right there and you did what it was actually 11 stars like mike corrected me. Crazy. Like that's the real champion. And so I said, hey, I'm thinking about watching the Godfather movies.

Will you be the Canary in the Well? And she said yes. Now, review the Godfather movies for us. Well, I just have to say that the Canary passed away

after the second Godfather movie. Oh, wow. Did you like the first one? The Canary didn't make it to the third one. So they just, the movies are so long. They're over three hours long apiece. So six and a half hours basically for these two movies. And it was just too much.

Like the content was okay, but it was just far too stressed out. I think you would hate me if I made you sit and watch these movies. So what do you rate the first Godfather? I give it 2.5 out of five. Godfather, because I don't really have another name that's appropriate to use. Okay. What do you write the second one? I'd give it three out of five.

I guess, like, I'm just going to stick with the godfathers again, because there's a lot of guns, there's a lot of fighting that happens. And it's just kind of like awkward fighting. Like there's just so much fighting, and it is drawn out the whole time. So 2.5 on the first one and three on the second. I won. But you didn't watch the third one because you couldn't take it? No, I seriously was like, if I watched another one of these movies, I think I may cry.

It just was so boring. I would pause the movie halfway through and I'd be like, I still have an hour and a half left of this. It was just, if they would have condensed it into half of that, I think I would have enjoyed them. But they were just far too long. They were strung out. Like, you know how you get to hear a conversation in a movie? Instead of getting a teaser, you got the whole conversation.

Oh. It was a lot. Well, thank you for watching them. I will not be watching them because the canary didn't come out alive and the canary didn't come out singing a happy song. So not for me. No. I did watch peanut butter falcon again with Caitlin because she wanted to see that. So we watched that again.

And so I would give it four and a half falcons. I'll rate it again. It was great. It's also really short. And we did a movie review on Instagram if you want to see that. But I've started to find out. that our movie reviews are just us doing a bit of some sort that we don't even know we're going to do until we hit record

and then at the end we go, oh yeah, four Falcons. But you can see that on Instagram if you want. But Amy, you watch any movies, not shows, but any movies over the last few days? Yeah, we watched Onward or what is... The Disney movie? Is it Upward or Onward? Is that what it's called, Mike? Yep.

Yeah, Onward. So my kids really wanted to watch it. So it was good. I think I more so just enjoyed piling on the couch with my family and watching it. I give it 3.5 elves out of five. My kids give it five out of five, though. Oh, they loved it, huh?

They loved it. I just was like, what is happening? I just wasn't, it just looked like there was just a lot. They would always, it's just far-fetched, but I get it. It's a cartoon about elves, Amy, what do you want? It's far-fetched.

It's animation. I know, but every little thing that would happen would be like, oh, come on. Now that's going to happen. They had a lot of obstacles. You didn't go, oh, come on at talking elves? Well, no, there's all kinds of,

there's little flying fairies that were a biker gang. They were probably my favorite. But it just seemed like whoever came up with that, wow, they are very creative. All right. Well, very. There you have it. And by the way, if you like movies,

But we watched because her family, they live on a ranch. Now I feel like I know them. You know, they live on the ranch and they were putting up some support posts for their fence.

Because if a fence is old, you don't have to go and tear the post out. You go on, you put in a new post in the middle of the two older posts, and it supports the other posts. And so while they were doing that, she was cooking them up some snacks. We were watching. She's making them snacks and sandwiches. Yeah. Of course.

She did like this bread with like the, it's kind of a long-shaped bread, and she toasted it and did some steak because the men and her family like steak. And then she did some onions, like full onions. And then put a little like, she's very mayonnaisey though yesterday. I don't like mayonnaise at all, but she's very mayonnaise-y. And then she made some, like, little vegetable cups, and they're pretty cute. I thought I could make them. Like, I finished that show, and I thought to myself, I wonder if I could make that.

For the first time. I don't know what's happening to me right now. But I did watch yesterday's Pioneer Woman. That's what we did. What else we got to do? That's it for today's show.
