I really started pushing in my career and I'm 23 and I'm a mortgage loan officer now because I give it all the credit to you. I read all your books and I listen to your show every morning. So I just wanted to say thank you. Well, that's very nice of you.

I'll say this. let's say you're a carpenter, right, Amy? Just for lack of what it was. And let's say that there are some tools to be a carpenter. Do those tools actually help you build the house, or are you the one doing the work? I'm the one doing the work. You're just my tools. The tools are just tools, and they're there to help you, but they definitely did not build the house.

You, the carpenter, built the house. Winnie, I'm going to say this about you. My books are just barely, they're not even barely tools. They're like nail clippers in building a house. You actually did that. Hey, and we're proud. Look at this. We're proud of you, too.

And I don't know, I don't ever remember you

talking about it on, you know, on the radio. It's interesting you bring this up. It's a touchy subject, actually, Bailey. I've been ranting off the air to my folks in here a bit about this. This is what happened. What happened was, first of all, yes. very Cavalry, by the way, is this show on, is on E? Yes. It's Kristen Cavalieri who used to be on the Hills and she lives in Nashville now

and her best friend is Kelly Henderson and yes, Kelly and I dated what couple years ago? We still are wonderful. Still work together. Amy and Kelly are best friends. But this is what happened. Apparently I'm going to be on the show on like the 19th I think

or the 20s, I don't know if it is. But they asked me, Kelly asked me as a favor to come and do let the camera's come when I was doing my book photo shoot for the cover that's how long ago I shot this a year and a half ago two years ago and they're like we just want to use this stuff because we're trying to highlight Kelly so they get us talking and they decided to cut me from season one because they didn't think it was good enough fine they didn't feel like it fit all of a sudden

season two apparently I'm going to be a big feature in the next episode coming up I didn't know that and then people started texting me going hey why are you in this next episode I was like next episode of what American Idol? Dancing with the Star's greatest hits? So, yes, I don't know what's going to Bailey, I don't know. Yes, I used the date, Kelly. I mean, it wasn't

serious, right? What's that I mean? No, it never made, I mean, well, middleish. It was middleish, but it just didn't get there, but I think that y'all have, and you all have a good friendship now. Yeah, yeah. But there was, I mean, there was a time when you weren't friends and then now you're

friends and not warring, because you've always been friendly, but it's just hard. I will be on very, apparently. I don't even want to promote it. I don't know if they're going to use it. I did not want them to use it. I threw a fit. And I was like, you just.

I think it's awesome that you're going to be on. The purpose was they said they're going to shoot it. Because my book was coming out. It was like, you do this for us. We can put it on whenever your book's out. It'd be a promotion. They never used it. Now all of a sudden, now all of a sudden, you boys got a couple irons in the fire.

I'm on the show. Hey, now you're on another show. I think it's great. It's going to be good. And everyone should watch. Yeah, I'm excited to see. Bailey, don't die. See, she's excited.

In Amazon News, we're finding out they apparently employ thousands of people to listen to our conversations when we're having them with our smart speakers. They're just a heads up on that. In the upper Midwest and the north, dangerous roads with tons of snow. One person was killed several car accidents. Officials are warning, go slow on the roads. And finally, a JFK in New York, an American Airlines flight lost a chunk of its wing after it hit a sign.

at the airport. The flight returned to the airport and landed safely, so that's good news. Bobby boom, come on. Your husband, Amy, gave you an ultimatum? Pretty much. What happened? Well, if I get my haircut any shorter, because every time I go in for a haircut, I just keep going a little bit shorter and a little bit shorter and a little bit more. And so he says if I get a little bit more, he's going to shave his beard off.

And I love the beard. And he knows that I love the beard. And I don't want the beard to go away. I love the beard. but he's like, okay, well, I love longer hair. So now I feel like we're at a predicament because I'm loving the short hair on myself. It's just easier to manage.

And I don't see myself growing it out, but I guess I pretty much now I'm going to stay at the length that I am for the time being. Is he measuring it every day? She comes home and he pulls. All right, honey. And then he'll keep the beard. But if I, yeah, come back from another hair appointment

and it's shorter. he's shaving. That's it. It's all there is to it. He straight up turned this into a little game and I don't like it. Does he like his beard? He likes it fine, but he doesn't, he's like, I keep it for you because you've liked it for so long. And actually when he first grew it out when he got out of the Air Force, I was like so not used to it because he'd never out a beard.

And I was like, ugh, what is happening? And then it grew on me and now I like love it. And I do not want the beard to go away. And I like beards and... Can I make a suggestion? What? I think you should cut your hair shorter. No.

I don't want him to shave the beard. And he will. Because I like him without the beard. You do? I do, yeah. I think he's a better looking guy without the beard. Interesting. Yeah, I'm just not a facial hair guy, even for myself.

Like, sometimes I'll grow out some scruff. He'll be like, ooh, but I have like little gray patches. I've had him my whole lot. Yeah, so does he. It's fine. Yeah, but I'm still trying to get a woman. I'm not trying to be papal. Yeah, but I like it. Women like it.

They don't like the gray. Yeah, they do. It looks old. Okay. That's high. Morgan number two, if there was a guy, you're 25. There's a guy coming up to who was like, hey, baby. and he had like a little gray patch in his beard

when you'd be like, hey, Papa, I'll leave me alone. Yeah. See? Yeah, but are you trying to get with the 25-year-old? Yes. Who cares? I mean, if you're getting someone that can, like, accept that you have mature hair.

I don't like, I don't like it on me. And you know what? I wish your husband will shave his face. Think he's a great looking guy without the beard. So my suggestion is cut your hair. Shave your head. Shave your head. Shave your head.

You know how awesome. It'd be so manageable. That would definitely be so manageable. I would just wake up and go. You'd look good. I think you look great. You'd never have the face for that. No, I did not have.

So she calls her mom, goes, mom, the babysitter's asleep And there's blood coming out She goes, honey, I need you to hang up and call 911 So the nine-year-old calls 911 And the babysitter had had a seizure They came and saved her. Oh, wow. Amy, you have a son that's almost nine.

What do you think would happen to that situation? He would call QLL. Like, we still, we're struggling at that. Actually, we had a parent-teacher meeting recently, and the teachers even said, like, he just, like, sometimes order of numbers and letters, especially because it's all so new to him at the stage, because he grew up in an orphanage,

his education isn't that strong. He's learning a new language. Yeah. Is he dyslexic? think? No, but they do. They say it's too hard. It's the same thing happens with my daughter. Like if she's spelling, if you say spell up, she'll do P-U instead of UP. But it's, they're like, it's too hard for us to say right now that it's some sort of a disability or if it's just so much happening right now, they get things confused because they've had a break in education. It's a second language.

You know, there's there's other factors that could wash away with time. And QLL means he thinks the Q is the nine and the HL is a one. Yes. So by calling number one, he calls QLL, and the one who's another one answers. Right. Yeah. So that's, yeah. So that's where we are.

So, yeah, if that were to happen at our house, I don't know. My daughter, she's, yeah, basically 12, so she would be able to handle it, but probably not Stevenson. Lunchbox, it's a good story. Story of the day. This story comes to us from Crossville, Tennessee. A 45-year-old woman was walking to Waffle House and she was tired of walking. She goes, oh, there's a Walmart. You know what? I'm going inside. She gets one of the electric carts, drives it out, and starts going down the highway to get to Waffle House. Oh, she just leaves on it.

Yeah, she says that's a good transportation because her feet were tired and she was arrested for theft. Well, it is a good transportation if your feet's tires. It's a little slow, but yeah. Yeah, but imagine if your feet are super tired, how slow that must be. But she drove it out on the highway. Was she drinking? They do believe alcohol was a factor. It was 5 a.m.

Can you imagine getting behind that? I got behind somebody in one of those bird scooters on the actual road road. Oh, what? Yeah. We're supposed to ride on the road, not on the sidewalk. No, no, no. But this is like not exactly the interstate, but it was a road where you should be going,

I think it's feeling it was like 50. And the bird scoot, there are low electric scooters are in all these cities now. And you put like a nickel in it and you go down the road. This scooter's right in front of it. And I was like, what's happening? But they're really supposed to ride on the road? No.

No, not in main roads like this. They're not supposed to be on the road. They're in the middle of the road like a car. Right, right. I'm just telling you, whatever road they're on, they're not supposed to be on the sidewalk. You're supposed to ride them in the bike. Nothing's supposed to be on the sidewalk.

No bike. Right. I'm so confused now, so where do these people ride? In the street. That's just not good. I know. I know. Not good.

Well, this lady, is she still in the big house or no? Oh, yeah, she's still in the big house. Are you sure? She didn't just bond herself out of it. Well, it says she's been there for months. I think he just said stuff. But anyway, that's a funny story. I'm lunchbox.

and then Harry Stiles. He has four. Did you know that? A new Mark Wahlberg had three. I did not know the Harry Styles had four. But the extra nipples usually aren't the same size. It's not like four big nipples.

And then also they're usually not on their chest. Well, Harry's, there's one right below his nipple area and then one on his stomach. Are they big? They look like nipples? They're like one, two. Oh, they're a little. I would think they were moles. And he really has that tattoo that says no more nipples? No, that's just an image.

That's just something written on the end of it. I didn't have four nipples though. Did you know I have nine testicles? Fun fact. something else. I didn't know that. Be like, careful ladies. Well, okay. Thank you for that genuine gut laugh. Yeah, dude. That was funny.

All right. What else? So Tom Cruise, his front right tooth is actually in the center of his mouth. So his teeth are like totally off. Like he doesn't have like the line down the center. His right tooth is right there in the center. I know we got adult braces in the last few years.

All right, cool. All right, Amy, what else? Okay, so people in Mississippi are finding mysterious bowls of mashed potatoes on their porch. And nobody knows why it's happening or what's going on, but it's porches, mailbox cars. I don't know. Found it on their porches.

They found it on their mailboxes, on their cars. We don't know if someone's just playing a prank or if someone just had a lot of leftovers. We're not quite sure. It was headed to work, and there was just a styrofoam bowl of mashed potatoes on the door steps right there. Some people were thinking maybe the mashed potatoes

were poisoned to kill animals. I didn't taste it. You know, I have a three-second rule, so I didn't touch it. But some people were worried. This is the kind of humor that I love. Random and unknown. And there's really not a joke to it. Well, I don't know if it's harmless or not.

It could be poisoned. Well, yeah, let's not find out. But I think that's so funny when just random things, when people just go, this would be funny to me. To do something so random and just see if it catches. Yeah, what else? So this Sunday night, April 14th, is the season finale of the most expensive,

most watched, most pirated show. ever. I mean, Game of Thrones is coming to an. I don't watch it. I'm going to be watching American Idol because Bobby's going to be on there. Boom. I figure a lot of people, maybe you could just at least like... What times it on though? After getting, Idle? 9. 11 West Coast. So, I don't... Okay. Yeah. I'm being watching Idol, but it's like, apparently people are pretty pumped about this one. And it's the most expensive season ever shot. The budget was 15 million per episode, taking the overall season cost to $90 million. episode. That's movies. Movies are made for far less.

Yeah. I love Game of Thrones. I don't think it's for everyone. It is the best television show of our lifetime because of all those reasons. It may not be the best to you. And I don't think it's my, it's not my favorite of my lifetime. But I think it's the best because one is based off books. They said pretty true. They went past beyond the books because the guy's alive and won't write the books. The guy won't finish the books. So they had to create extra story. And so, and he's still alive. I'm accurate on that, right? And then it's just the characters and the story.

I mean, it's really, the sad, the scenes, and it's really a fantastic show. It's a lot. It's a lot, though. But I'll be watch. I'll catch up with it. But only after American Idol. That's right, 8-7 Central on ABC, Sunday night and Monday night. Yeah.

Yeah, there you go. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good. So this police officer, Officer Richards, responded to a call about somebody breaking into a car and stealing all of a toddler's birthday gifts from his mom's car. And so Officer Richards and his colleagues were like, oh, man, these kids aren't getting any gifts. And so all of those cops that were on duty through the overnight shift went out.

They go to Walmart and Target and rebuy almost all the gifts and then some other stuff too and gave them some police gear as well. So that entire squad purchased matched gifts and then the department shared the kids birthday on the Facebook page. I thought that was good. They had to do that. Could have just been like, all right, this is 1096. Peace out. But they didn't. They didn't.

I don't know to 1096. Yeah, I was wondering. What is that? There you go. That's what's all about right there. That was Tell Me Something Good. Corny. What stinks when it's living and smells good when it's dead.

Let me tell you. Let me tell you about Joe and I have become kind of buddies over the last eight months or so. I was like, you know, it's kind of like Heroes Month. I'm bringing in some people that I've really like admire musically and like grew up and i was like i can't do this month without bringing joe in by god one because every time i see you i'm like joe i love you my i'm your biggest fan and then you're like i listen to you anyway so it's good to have you man i think i'll tell you what you can't even

tell you how excited all my people you know my daughters in particular they're all this like freaking out that i'm coming to you know and talk with you and stuff today so well it's good i saw did you a new tattoo of you in a mullet on your body? On my wife's leg. Oh, is that what happened? Wait, you have a tattoo of Joe in the mullet on your leg? And will you come up to this microphone for one second? You know.

Yeah, we, uh, check it out, man. We found this, somebody did this. Oh, that's so funny. And the mustache, the mullet. Yeah. What is your name? Tara. Hi, Tara.

What's it like being married to Joe Diffie? It's just magical. It's magical, honey. Because I, like, I look at Joe. And the first time I met him, I was like geeking out hard. And then when he came up to me and he was like, hey, Bobby. And I was like, oh, he knows my name. Like, someone must have whispered in his ear.

Like, that's Bobby. And then, like, the eighth time we talked, I was like, he might know who I am. He knows who you are. It's crazy. And so now we talk. We see each other out. We talk all the time. And so, do you ever go do the requests?

You be like, Joe, let me hear like, let me do some Johnny Degree. Let me do. No. No, nothing like that. No, she's always, I'm always, you know, at the house, I might, I don't know what. I sing just weird stuff sometimes. I don't know what, I just think, you know, I'll make up something and see, why don't you ever sing a good song? How long you guys been married?

We got married last May, so almost a year. Come on. So did you listen to Joe as a kid? Yes. Me too. I did. Yeah, I would marry Joe, too. I'd get a tattoo on my leg if I got a Joe.

So what's your favorite Joe Diffey song? Actually, what's that one I just heard the other day? I was called Better Off Gone. Is it new one? No, it's not even... Two or three albums ago. It was just an album cut. It was a single or anything.

Man. I don't know if I can remember it now. But I just heard it for the first time, maybe a month ago, and I've been playing the fool out of it. So that's my favorite. That's probably my favorite right now. That's pretty cool. Is it cool that people think he's awesome? Yeah.

Yeah. Right? Because I do. I think he's the awesomest. Right. Every time I see him, I'm like, Joe, anyone has I told you, he's the awesomist. I'll tell you what I don't feel so awesome when I'm taking out the garbage or, you know, You know, the dodging dog poop at the house.

Or leaving his shoes out. Is that what he does? In the middle of the living room. Oh, I like where we are now in this segment. Wait a minute. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Give us the real. Why do I bring you here, honey?

Yeah, yeah. So what, let's do best and worse. What's the best thing about being married to Joe? I mean, other than he honestly, he loves me more than anybody in the world, and I love that. He cooks. Oh, yeah. An excellent chef, and he cooks dinner every single night. and he's always...

You cook every night, Joe? Just about, yeah. That's awesome. I come home from work and he's got in and ready, so... Wow. What's your specialty, Joe? I don't really have one. Just, you know, I like grilling stuff, so I do that.

I just, I'm kind of an experimenter. I'll see something on one of them, too, cooking shows or something, you know, and I'll just give it a shot. Sometimes it comes out. Sometimes it doesn't. I'm making a lasagna for her boss, who just, he and his wife just had a baby. So I made one before.

four for one of her coworkers and they're like, that's what he requested. So I'm going to make a lasagna. You can request songs or lasagna from Joe Diffie. It's the craziest thing ever. Joe Diffie made us a little of Zodian. But I never can do the same thing twice because I cook by just tasting a little here and there, you know, and adding a little this and a dash of that. So I don't have any like set.

You know, I follow a basic recipe, but then I always just add junk. You sound humble, too humble. She loves it. What's the most, like the hardest part of being married to Joe Diffy? Um, sometimes if we're like at a family dinner at like Chili's and Smyrna and, you know, people come up to the table. Because I forget when we're all out with our kids and his mother. Like I forget who he is sometimes. And but everybody's really nice about it usually.

But sometimes it's just kind of like, okay, this is kind of a family moment. You know, wait until we eat our appetizers and then. I'm sorry I did that. That was you. That was you. That was you. I often say, because people will ask me that question, they say, hey, if you see somebody out that, that you know, that is famous or whatever, when is it okay to talk? And the only time that I tell people, maybe you guys can add to this, is I say if they're with their kids or they're eating, like those are really the two times.

I say, if you're a fan of them, God knows I do. Like, if I see somebody I'm a fan of, I'm like, I'm your biggest fan. But again, if they're with their kids, off limits. And if they're eating, like that's a time, that's like a sacred space that you should just wait. Wait till they're finishing. I was with George Jones having dinner one night, and this cracked me up. Of course, he was kidding, but this lady comes over, and we both got her hands full of, I don't know what we're eating, something. And we're eating, and she comes over there and just stands there and looks at us, and George is sitting across her of me.

And she goes, oh, I don't mean to bother y'all, but he goes, well, what are you doing it for then? He's teased and he started laughing. Well, listen, I'm glad you came and you're sitting in and you edited the segment over here. That's crazy. It's good. It's good. All right, all right, all right. Back to you, Joe. Back to you. Back to you. She's more interesting than I am. That's not true. So, let's see. Where do we start? I want to run through memory lane a little bit. If you want to grab those headphones you can or you don't have to, but I'm going to play some of this here. Look, when I, let me do... I met all my wives. The traffic jams are just something when you like about a pick-up playing.

Jam number one. Jam number one. My favorite, though, and I'll karaoke prop me up. Yep. Oh, yeah. Because I like, well, I ain't free to die. I like the slow part. And then it goes, boom, boom, boom.

Like, this is one of them. You tickled out how geeky I am, Joe? No, that's great. Pop me up beside the two barns. I'll sing the other night. You know what made, I was listening to, we went to actually, we were on spring break. I'll make this quick. We went to, we were on spring break.

We went to our friends of the Martins were doing a concert. And so we just took off over there, went to this church and listened to them. And, you know, it was a tear invoking because just sometimes, and I was talking to my wife about it and my daughter. And I was like, you know, sometimes it doesn't even the words that affect me. It's just the harmony or the sound, the beauty of something, you know. But I think that's what music does to people. It makes you feel things, you know. And that song, it's funny with that song, like that song gives you both.

Because, again, the beginning of it, you know, and I don't have the beginning of song. But it's the slow. Yeah. Well, I ain't free to die. It's a th. and then it's all the way up. Then it goes right into it. Then it's right into it.

Hey. So on that way, tell me about that song. Like, where were you in life? When you heard that song, what does it remind you of? Well, okay. When I first heard it, my producer was his name Johnny Slate, and he passed away a couple years ago. But he brought this song to him. We've been listening to a bunch of songs.

And I don't know if you're familiar with Dennis Lindy, who wrote the song. Well, Dennis had a very eclectic way of – he did all his own demos and sang them. And so when I first heard John Deere Green, I hated it. Really? Really? Really? It had a juice heart. It was like, don, da, do, do, do, dear.

And then it was like, they were far from kids way down in Dixie. And I said, this is a piece of crap right here, you know. My producer, hey, he said, just don't me. I've grown since, though. I have actually literally requested all of Dennis Lindy's demos before because I love him so much. But anyway, so my producer said, just listen through it, man. And they said, pay attention to the words. And I swear, man, that has been, that's my most requested song all the time.

And when you get to like a place with some elevation to it, it kind of changes your whole world because all of a sudden you're breathing in places you don't normally breathe. Then you get like too much air in there and you can't get it out. It's awful. But yeah, it does it.

And so it was like several months in between, a year or so before we actually started recording. and so I had kind of honestly kind of forgotten about it and again my producer said what do you think about this one I said I don't know kind of gotten tired of it because I'd listen to it a million times

so he said let's listen to it again so we've played it and I just I got tears in my eyes and I said okay let's do it then if that makes me feel that way so always reminds me seriously of home though you know Oklahoma? My dad just passed away this past Thanksgiving, so my sister lives there, one of them. Near Tulsa? Ashley, my sister lives in Oklahoma City. My mom lives in a little town called Velma. That's where I kind of spent my last couple of high school years there in Val. How big is Velma? About 2,500 on a good day. Okay, I'm from town of 700.

So it's like, yeah, like we finally got a dollar general right outside of town. Oh, dude. We have one. What's that one they just built? Family dollars. The family dollar. He's got one of those. Really?

Yeah. It's a big deal. That's a big deal. You don't have to drive all the way to town doing some stuff. Because that was always the thing for us is you had to go to town. Yeah. And if somebody went to town, they would go and let the houses next two or three houses over. Be like, hey, we're going to town.

actually big and it's happening right like at what point in your career because you have all of these songs that's a good i don't know like where did you when'd you go holy crap like this is actually happening yeah i guess after you know my main home was my first song and it and it went to number one and i was still just didn't really believe it you know and then my second song was called if you want me to and it went number one and i thought well hey maybe you got something going here i don't know so it took took a couple of songs in before i kind of realized it, you know. Because for me, again, whenever prop me up came out, because it was all, it was, I would watch it on CMT, I would listen to it on the radio, it was just, it was kind of 360 in my life. Thank you. That is a good one. Thank you. Did you ever think about moving back home or you moved to Nashville? Did you ever get a struggle where you're like, I don't know if I can do this? When I very first, yeah, when I very first came here back, way back when 80, six or something like that. I was here for about three months, and I had gotten, you know, I worked in Oklahoma at this

foundry, like for nine years where they shut the plant down, laid us all off. So I was drawing unemployment there for a while. I was making $192 a week, right? So I moved to Nashville. I get a job, and I don't want to disparage them, so I won't say the name. But I worked all week at this place, like busting my tail, doing this deal, moving one, and this merchandise from one end of the warehouse at the other end and sorting it all out.

I got my first check. It was $176. It was less than you were drawing. Less than I was drawing on unemployment. I was like, oh, dude, I don't know if I can do this or not. So I did actually. It was near Christmas time when I drove back home. And my dad, he's like, look, you know, he said, nobody says it's going to be easy.

He said, but why don't you go back and stick with it and give it a shot and, you know, pursuing music. And the best advice I ever got was, you know, do something every day towards your music, you know, and so I thought, I took that to heart. I literally had times when one, I remember one night I went to bed and I thought, crap, I haven't done anything. So I got out of bed and played my guitar for 10 minutes just to say I'd done something, you know, so it worked out. I would say it worked out. I definitely would. Joe Diffy. In pop culture, the thing that happened this week in 2004 is Rebecca Romaine Stamos and John Stamos announced they're separating after five years of marriage.

And I remember watching that going, but they're separated. TV makes me think that they love each other. He's best known as Amy? Uncle Jesse. Hey, yeah. Her full house, yeah. And she played Mystique in the X-Men movies.

They met at a Victoria's Secret fashion show where she was a model. Wow. I mean, if you can listen. I know, what a lie. No, to pull that to go up to one of the fashion models at the show and be like, to go to a fashion show. Smart. It's a baller.

and then get one of them. Crazy. You must be so good looking. Did Tom Brady do that too? Yeah. How did Tom meet Giselle? Anybody know? I don't know.

I don't know. But, Amy, I can tell you, in my life, I have never been into a place and just had a girl be like, oh, swoon. I have to wear them down. Like, I have to meet them. That's why I don't do well in places where the music's like this. They're like, hey, how are you doing? Hey, Ben, Ben, Dennis. I don't thrive in environments like that.

Yeah, you need other ways to shine. Yeah, I need for there to be a quiet atmosphere where I can be witty. John Samuels have to be witty. He probably showed up and this was playing. He did that little finger motion. We're like, come here. And then they get married. Like, I never go into a place.

I just want once to walk into a place and a girl be like, ooh, who's the cute guy with the real darkroom glasses? That never happens? Huh? That never happens? Eddie, not once. Not once. Have I went into and somebody to be like, I wonder who that guy is over there with the real wheezery looking glasses.

I bet you he's a real treat. He's kind of big head. Wow. He's kind of awkwardly skinny and I'm into that. That's never happened to me in my entire life. Wow. And John Stamos just walks into Victoria'sic Fashion Show and goes home to Rebecca Homain Stamos. And that's what happened to Tom Brady.

They met through a mutual friend. and Giselle said, the first time I saw that smile, I was like, that is the most charismatic smile I've ever seen. Nobody ever saw my smile. No. And went, that's the smile I need to be with. Like, it takes me sometimes weeks to wear someone down to, like, be into it. Wear them down.

Yeah. That's what it is. They don't come parading in. There's this girl I kind of like now a little bit. Oh, who is she? And I'm like, I'm working her. Tell us more about her. No.

No. No. There's not, it doesn't need to be said. just telling us, Amy knows who she is. I'm working her. And you know, what do you mean about working her? Like, what are you doing to wear that down?

He's wearing her now. I got to, listen. What are you doing over there? That's not all the tricks. Yeah. You got to be super funny on text. Oh, wow. Like, you have to be, because.

Like, you're really thinking that hard before you send a text or just like natural wit. It's natural, but you really have to do a good job. And text is tough because you can, translations are different. Yeah, so hard. you gotta make sure that, like, I send a lot of eggplant emojis. Oh, you're going that?

No. No, no, I'm just kidding. I don't send any egg plant images. That's the weird down you're talking about. But yeah, it's like, you know, we've been out a couple times, and it's like you just got to be super present and super. And then eventually they go, oh, I kind of, I do like this guy. Okay, but do you feel like being super present in the beginning is a little misleading? Excuse me?

You're trying to be super present. And I'm just like, I don't know if that's. It's false. Wow. No. But? I'll tell you something. I'll tell you something that this person did.

It's the only thing I'm going to say about this girl now because I don't know how long it's going to last. Again, I am dating unapologetically at this point in my life. Right? Yeah. I was like. And who knows? And sometimes I will time. I will hold my stories for time.

This could have happened three months ago and I'm just sharing it now. This could have happened yesterday. All my story. I'd never want people to be revealed for who they are. Like when I do them. So who knows? This could happen to be. year ago. But I was like, hey, do you want to come over and we can watch something? And she was

like, yeah, can I bring my laptop and work while we do it? And I was like, oh, this is the greatest thing I ever heard. You're like, I'm in love. I was like, you were men for me and I was meant for you. You bring your computer looking fine. That turns into the Joel song. You were meant for me. And I was meant for you. And you know what? Odds are it won't work out, Why are you saying that? Why would you odds are this? Let me finish. Let me finish this.

Well, that happened a year ago. Odds are nothing. Right. First of all, I could have. Odds are nothing works out. However, you have to fight through the odds because eventually maybe something will. But odds are no relationship that you meet and you start dating and work. Odds are, and they don't.

Most of them don't work. It's such a negative way to look at it. No, no, no. You break up before you can start dating. You don't have to, no, no. It's realistic. You don't have to be realistic all the time. Anyway, back in 2004.

Lunch back Friday. Yeah. Is when he went on the day. Wait, so she came over and y'all watched something and y'all worked on your laptops. That is baffling. You said that. It excited you. Yeah.

What? Yeah. I'm not surprised. That's totally his thing. No, that's what I'm saying, though. That's what's wrong with you. No, it's not like we haven't done other stuff. Oh, that was more.

But I'm just saying, I was like, oh, that's cool. Anyway, that's all I'm going to say for now. So when you're on your computers, do you text each other? Like, hey, what are you doing? No, we're sitting next to each other. That would be funny, though, see. Okay, well, I'll write your comedy note down to my humor book. It would be kind of cute if you texted her.

I mean, who got the woman. One woman. My one and only. It's 10. Time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So shout out to Kevin Gatlin.

He is the mastermind behind Playtime Adventures. It's an interactive set of bed sheets. Tons of games are on there and lessons for children. Oh, on the sheets? Yeah, all in the sheets. So kids that are lying in hospital beds, they're confined to the bed. They can't get up, get out. Like, there's all the stuff on the sheets.

And how cool is that? What a great idea. So they're entertained from the hospital beds. the comfort of their hospital bed or their home bed or wherever they're confined. I was thinking first it was just for kids who wanted something to do while they were in bed at night, which is a thing also, but kids in hospitals? Yeah. And how about the hospital that they have a bunch of them?

They can always switch them out and it's new games and new stuff. That's a really cool idea. Like, that's a shark tank idea. I know. Yeah. I know you guys always thinking about stuff. Yeah. But that's a good one.

All right. That's what it's all about right there. That was Tell Me Something Good. Bobby Bones. So you went to a. parent teacher conference for both your son and daughter? Yeah, my first one at this new little school that they're at, this like homeschooling thing.

So these are teachers that work very close with them one-on-one. I wonder, this homeschooling thing is weird for me. I went to a public school, obviously. And your kids are going to kind of a homeschool because since they're from a different country, their English wasn't good enough to really get them into a normal school at that level. Yeah, we were, well, we tried. We were at a public school where they have a really good ESL English as a second language program. We weren't advancing as quickly as we thought they should at all.

And we have a school we want them to go to where some other kids from Haiti go. It's a school that's very involved in Haiti. And they're just not at the level. They can't enter at their grade. They would be grades behind where they need to be. So they suggested we tried this homeschooling route. My husband and I both work. We can't homeschool.

So we found this program that we could put them in. So do they kind of elevate them quickly through it if they can to try to catch up? Yeah. I mean, they're only in school. And here's the thing. like they're only in school three and half hours a day and that half hour is lunch. So three hours a day of school, Monday through Friday, and they are already like leaps and bounds from where they were going to school eight hours a day with, you know, just not getting that one-on-one

attention. And I get not everybody can have that. But I'm just super thankful that we found this program because, yes, they're finally, they're excelling and they're bumping up great levels and they're just, and the teachers like love them. I was nervous. They were going to be like, ugh. There was a few negative things, stuff we could maybe work on. But overall, they said that the kids are a delight to teach and that they're just super proud of them.

So Amy's adopted two children, if you're new to the show. They've been here for, I guess, a year and a half now, huh? Pretty much a year and four months-ish. And so what do they say that was good? Well, Stasheera is really creative and can retain information really well. And I know that about her, too, from her watching, like, Netflix or movies and stuff. Like she can recall a movie scene from anything that she's seen or episode. She knows it was season two, episode 13, and she'll tell you exactly what's going to happen.

Where I could do that same thing. I'm like, I don't really know what happened. And so she's very good, evertaining information. Stevenson, he is really excited to learn. And they said he gets so giddy when he gets something right, which that, and they encouraged us to really praise them at home, that that, especially with Stevenson, that that goes a long way with him. to like if he gets something right like make the biggest deal in the world because then it makes him more eager to want to learn

and so I feel like sometimes I'm a little hard on him at home. What's the biggest struggle? Stevenson's very literal so math is really hard for him because he's not, they said he doesn't get like things conceptually like it's really really hard for him to get like math is like the biggest struggle

and because he can't understand an order of things them and they like oh what are what are them doing instead of what are they doing? Like little things like that. And then also like days of the week. Poor little Stevenson. We can't get Monday through Sunday.

He still struggles the days a week. Today's Tuesday. What was yesterday? It's more like past and present that he's struggling with. And so, but again, the teachers offered us comfort. They said it's just because he doesn't have a handle on it. Like his brain isn't quite there yet. So, but he'll get there.

You feel like you got this though a bit? Like with them? Yeah. Yeah. I'm getting excited about it. And when do you think they'll go to public school? I don't know. We're hoping next.

We feel like maybe they'll have to do some of this in the summer and in the fall next year, but then maybe next January we can get them in because I really want them to make friends. You know, I want them to have classmates and have activities at school they can be a part of. They need that. They need friends. Yeah. Well, I appreciate the update. Yeah.

Parent teacher conference. Crazy. Yeah. I was just hoping, like, we just didn't want to mess up. Like, we didn't know what we were in for. Did he have them wear a suit? Hasn't more a suit in? No, we went normal.

I wore Birkenstocks. Oh. And I was like the cool mom. Anyone in as a gypsy dressed as a gypsy? Who beads? But I did just have had dental work right before I got there. So my mouth was like this. I couldn't feel half of my face, like literally.

And I took a sip of water. And the water was like going down my chin and I didn't even know it. And I'm sure they were like, she's a hot mess. The drunk mom. What do you think about this job here? Snickers M&Ms is offering a summer job tasting candy. I mean, that sounds awesome if I wanted to feel gross. It's a 12-week program, and you go, and it's Mars Wrigley,

you get a signing bonus of a year's worth of candy. Wow. A fully paid intern will travel to manufacturing sits, test tastes new flavors, and even make their own batch of chewing gum. It doesn't say how much you get paid. but there's lots of sampling, there's travel, there's the gum, there's working with other interns to coordinate the global Mars volunteer program, lots of social media duties. Company's Chicago headquarters. You've got to be 21 years old and older. Listen, it sounds fun on the surface, but can you imagine how to eat candy every day?

I know. That's what I mean. Like at first it would be fun and then I would feel gross. But it's different candy, right? Yeah. Yeah, that's good. That's good. That's a good job. I guess. I like to tell you up for like one hour. Amy, what's going on? Well, tonight's soccer practice, and then we'll just see how the weather holds out. I know if there's going to be a soccer game tomorrow.
