Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey, I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance.
Starting point is 00:00:30 And then there's your body having its own program. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On a recent episode of the podcast Money and Wealth with John Hobriant, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money. What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth to the people when they're no longer here? We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build real wealth, starting with the mindset shifts. Too many of us were never, ever taught. If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money, this conversation is for you to hear more. Listen to Money and Wealth with John Hope Bryant from the Black Effect Network on the I'd Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:25 American soccer is about to explode. The World Cup is coming. sending on to Ernie Stewart. I'm Tab Ramos. I'm Tom Boe. On our podcast, Inside American Soccer, you'll get the real storylines, the biggest decisions,
Starting point is 00:01:42 and the truth about the U.S. national team. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great run into the semifinals. Listen, Inside American Soccer with Tom Bogart and Tab Ramos on the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcast, wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Ernest, what's up. Look, money is something we all deal with, but financial literacy is what helps turn income into real wealth. Because when you understand the system, you can start to build within it. Open your free iHeart radio app, search Earn Your Leisure, and listen now. Hey, welcome to episode 589, and so we're going to vote for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Starting point is 00:02:40 If you've been listening to the Bobbycast for years, you know that for some reason, they think I should have a vote and who makes the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And every year, we stupidly get together as a group, me and all my buddies, and make our picks, and then submit it as mine, which I'm not sure is legal. So it's me, Eddie, and Brandon Ray. You're going to hear all about it. And so here we are going through all of the people that are nominated, for this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and then us
Starting point is 00:03:08 picking who we think it should be. All right, welcome to the Bobbycastle where we are going to vote for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Now, the situation is I am a voting member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame people who vote. That's not an actual name of it, but I don't think so. I feel like it is. And instead of me just voting for the past few years, I've brought in my friends to help me pick, and we will nominate, I think it's seven people.
Starting point is 00:03:34 So I'd like to introduce people. First of all, he's produced songs for the Beatles. He was also part of Journey. Hello. He's a music producer, singer, songwriter, artist, Brandon Ray. Also, the other half of my comedy band The Raging Idiots, and he can play a bar chord, which I think is so cool. Yeah, an F.
Starting point is 00:03:58 Yes. I'm really good. I struggle with that. That's Eddie, and I'm Bobby. And let's vote. So here's what it says. As you make your ballot selections, please consider the following. Excellence.
Starting point is 00:04:11 Has the artist demonstrated exceptional artistic quality, vision, and execution? Innovation. Has the artist advanced the art through, you know, you a note cards? I don't let excellence. You don't take notes at anything in your life. No, this is important, though. This is the Hall of Fame. Influence and impact.
Starting point is 00:04:29 So how this will work is Eddie and I will do. Debate it out. If we do not come to a conclusion, Brandon, you will be the final vote. Okay. Now, we're supposed to nominate, I believe, seven. Okay. What I'm going to do first is go through all the selections. And you guys can just give me a line about what you think about the people. Perfect.
Starting point is 00:04:53 Black Crowes is one of the people up for nominee. Eddie Black Crowes, what comes to mine? You want a line? A classic, I mean, this is a classic rock legends. So, yes. Were I going yes or no? No, I'm saying classic rock legends with massive hits. Brandon?
Starting point is 00:05:09 I'm going to echo what Eddie just said, yes. I'm not. I don't think they're classic rock legends. I think they were contemporary with a classic rock sound. Oh, dang, okay. Yeah. Wow. One up to us.
Starting point is 00:05:19 That's one part of the voting. No, I just think when they existed, it was new, but it was cool because it also had very old elements to it, but they still made it new and they did have some jam. Yeah, I guess we were around when they were doing it. Around? We were like, we were buying their music. No, we're young, though. I mean, I remember some of the albums.
Starting point is 00:05:37 I was probably in middle school. When she talks to Angels came out, that's probably, what, 12? Right. Huge influences on all of us, we've said. Now she talks to Angels! That song came out. She talks to Angels. I'm going to guess 93.
Starting point is 00:05:53 Oh. Well, still, I remember 90. 90, yeah. See, man. We're young. Also, they had a song that was a cover that I didn't know was a cover until I got older. Too hard to handle now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:04 The month, it's hard to hand it up. Which is a jam, obviously. Okay, so they're up. Black Crows. And if we want, if anybody goes eliminated, let me know, you can't we won't say yes yet, but if you think there's no way
Starting point is 00:06:19 they should be in. We can say that now. You can say that now because there's two, four, six, eight, ten, twelve, third, fourteen. There's like seventeen. There's like seventeen. Thanks. Jeff Buckley. Definitely not eliminated. Now, Jeff Buckley, to me, has one song, and it's great.
Starting point is 00:06:36 And it's even a cover song. Yes. And he had a good album. And by the way, a heck of a documentary. Great documentary. I hope people can watch that, too. I just don't think just because you're dead, it should help you. But you can't do anything else.
Starting point is 00:06:51 That's right. So if you were alive, he would have made more music. You don't know that. Well, you don't know if you wouldn't have. There's a lot of one-hit wonder. The logic of a one-hit wonder is dead then because they kept living after they had a great song. That's not fair, though. One Hit Wonders, they had the chance.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Jeff Buckley didn't have the chance. Lou Bega, Mamo No. 5. He had the chance. Jam. Okay, Jeff Buckley, so what I'll just say quickly about Jeff Buckley is I do really love his sound and I loved when his sound was because it was so, it was the juxtaposition of him and all that other music that was happening. At the time, sure. Completely different.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Yep. And he was very avant-garde acoustic or electric set. Yeah. It was just minimal. Can I go minimal? Guard is a great way to put his music. Thank you very much. Very minimal, yes.
Starting point is 00:07:36 And I worked on American Idol for a bunch of years. Everybody did that song. Really? It made me hate it. Well, you know why they did it because Jeff Buckley's voice was unbelievable. So to them, they're feeling if I cover a Jeff Buckley song, they're going to see my voice as something unbelievable. True. I almost want to say eliminated.
Starting point is 00:07:57 I won't. Don't do it. I just don't think he has the body of work. Are we doing the tiebreaker now or what? He can for elimination. Oh, you can say eliminated if you want to. Eliminated. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:08 I'll second it. No Jeff Buckley. You guys suck. I think his work, I loved it. I just don't think it's enough. You need to listen to Grace the album. You need to listen to two people that are talking to say eliminated because we've eliminated it. Next up, Mariah Carey.
Starting point is 00:08:22 One of the greatest pop stars ever exist. That's my line. Yes, yes. I mean, huge name. Who doesn't know Mariah? Huge name. Who doesn't know Mariah Carey? Like, everyone knows Mariah Carey.
Starting point is 00:08:31 Oh, then you didn't love Mariah Carey then? No, I didn't. But Christmas time, he's got one of the biggest Christmas songs ever. When I was 10 years old, I wrote a letter to Mariah Carey. This is 100% true. Put a picture of myself holding a present like Merry Christmas to you. You're a huge inspiration. Fantasy, the album is incredible.
Starting point is 00:08:53 No response. Still, to this day. No, keep waiting. She's getting around. No, no, no. No, no, I think she hasn't gotten around to it. That's true. That's true.
Starting point is 00:09:03 The first two CDs I ever bought, not tapes, CDs. The first two CDs ever bought were ACDC Ballbreaker and Mariah Carey. Stop. I swear. Stop, Brandon. Stop. No, no, no, no. Those were literally two of my favorite CDs, too.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Oh, but those were the first two you bought? No, no, no. It was like, ACDC Ballbreaker and Mariah Carey Fantasy. Dude. We're the two, yeah. And then I wrote her a letter. And she was like, why is this Brandon guy mailing me letters? And I was like, trust me later in life.
Starting point is 00:09:30 So, okay, Mariah. carries in, I don't think we could possibly eliminate her. You can't eliminate her. Two eliminations for that. Phil Collins. Oh, man. Phil Collins, and I'm going from non-note, so if I'm wrong about stuff, I'm happy to admit in a later episode. Phil Collins was the drummer of Genesis.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Correct. They looked for a lead singer. And it was almost like Dick Cheney when it was like, Dick Cheney's like, I'm going to find a vice president. I guess it's me. You know, that's how he ended up being the vice president. So what was Peter Gabriel? He was singer.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Okay. He was a lead singer. And so Peter Gabriel goes and does his own thing, leaves the band. Phil Collins is just like, I got microphones down. It's so crazy to sing and play drums. It is. Because when I play drums, I can't sing. And when I sing, I can't play drums.
Starting point is 00:10:15 But I can't sing or play drums. So it's really a mix. It's like the patting your head and rubbing your stomach, you know? Like, it really is. Phil Collins is awesome. Yeah, he's awesome. And that's almost to me going, he should just be one of the seven. We can get back around to it.
Starting point is 00:10:27 But his sound to me, nothing personifies the cool 80s. Because I think there's lame 80s. There's hairband 80s, yeah. I think there's Michael Jackson 80s, and I think there's cool 80s. Phil Collins, to me, is cool ladies. Yeah. I mean, Phil Collins is, I mean, I'm surprised he's not in the Hall of Fame already. I'll say that.
Starting point is 00:10:46 I'll say that he was already in there. Tarzan, do I have to say it? He'll be in my heart. Then I go, you'll be in my heart. And then imagine this, so, watch this. You'll be in my heart. Put them. Put them.
Starting point is 00:11:00 He's doing it himself. Okay, still in. We've only eliminated one so far. Melissa Etheridge. She has awesome. Because I'm the only one. That's not even the biggest jam to me. Love to my window.
Starting point is 00:11:21 What's Lum to my window? I thought it was look through my window. No, that's what you do on weekends. Come to my window. I'm not going to eliminate her. because I think she was big, like Lilith Fair, which very much more than just songs. Huge. I'm not going to eliminate her.
Starting point is 00:11:38 It's going to be tough for her to break to top seven for me. I think she was a spokesperson for lesbians all around the world. Absolutely. I don't know if she was, but she was for them. She is a tireless advocate for LGBT plus rights, breast cancer awareness. Oh, were you looking for me to back you up after you said that? Yeah, thank you. I was like, I kind of were right.
Starting point is 00:11:59 No, you're right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think she picked up a guitar to AJ. I'm not going to... I'm going to eliminate her. Okay, I'll eliminate her too. I'm glad you did because I was thinking it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:14 But if I was alone, I'm not going to be alone on that island. Yeah. I'm an eliminator. She did have some jams, and I do understand her cultural significance. Yes. It's going to be a tough year to get in. Yeah. Lauren Hill.
Starting point is 00:12:24 Lauren Hill, man. I love that she shows up at our own concerts four hours late. You know what? That was recent. I think we should consider that. Into her body of work is that she never gets to her shows on time. I'm surprised by that because you are a person that loves timeliness. Yeah, and if I was there, I'd be mad.
Starting point is 00:12:40 But it's just hilarious that she starts to show at like 1230. Can you award tardiness, though? You know, for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, what's more rock and roll? Than being late. That's a really good point. So this is Lauren Hill, not Fuji's, Lauren Hill as a solo artist. Correct. Lauren Hill, X Factor.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Lauren Hill, Duwob. Sister act. Girl, yeah. You know you better. Watch out. Lump to my window and then watch it. You'll be in. Lum to my window is not a thing.
Starting point is 00:13:09 Okay. I just did that. You make fun of me because it's looking through my window. It's okay. But I don't think we can consider that as part of the Fugis. Although I'm telling you, that album, the Miseducation of Lauren Hill. That's awesome. So breakthrough, so amazing that even like me, I bought that record.
Starting point is 00:13:27 I'm going to leave her in for now. The impact, the cultural impact is there. That's one of the greatest, I think it's one of the group, whatever, the 250 great albums of all time. I think that should be considered in this. So we won't kick it out. We interrupt this interview to bring you a message from our sponsor. I'm Iris Palmer and my new podcast is called Against All Od, and that's exactly what the show is about, doing whatever it takes to be thoughts.

I'm talking to people like award-winning actress, producer, and director, Eva Langoria. I think I had like $200 in my savings account and my mom goes, what are you going to do? And I was like, I'll figure it out. We got a one-bedroom apartment for like $400 a month and we all could not afford. Like, I was like, how am I going to make $100 a month? I'm opening up like I've never before.

Starting point is 00:17:37 Search the Cito Show. And listen now. And we're back on the Bobbycast. Billy Idol. Wedding Singer. Yes, he was an actor and wedding singer. He's just a little before me. This is tough because not only was he before me,
Starting point is 00:18:02 you know how we talk about cheesy 80s? He fits in that for me. He was cheesy 80s. But that doesn't mean he's not awesome. He does have White Wedding. Rebel Yale. Oh, yeah. In the rebel, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:12 She yelled, mo, mo, mo. And he had the Elvis lip, too. I don't know if. I met him. You met really out of? Last year. Where? Backstage at a festival.
Starting point is 00:18:22 He's nice. That's cool. Yeah, he's not. Well, that's good. I mean, I think that alone should. You get him in? Yeah, consider him at least. And he had a nice day from money.
Starting point is 00:18:32 Moni, mooney. It's a nice to start again. Man, he had a bunch of songs. That's white wedding. That is white wedding. Yeah. Well, then he had that one twice on. Billy Idol
Starting point is 00:18:42 We're gonna leave him in? I would leave him in Okay To me that's a Again Classic rock legend Okay in excess Man I don't know much about in excess
Starting point is 00:18:51 Other than the guy Yeah Killed himself Or maybe didn't mean to Yeah It was trying to get off Yeah that's weird You'd say it like that
Starting point is 00:19:00 Is that not gonna Is that not what it is? Yeah but I wouldn't have said it like Yeah Yeah that's just a weird way to even say It just feels creepy It does feel weird Actually once I said it
Starting point is 00:19:07 I was like that's kind of weird Yeah I'm not one of it Yeah, new wave, but then like 90s. To me, I just, I want you to know. What is that song? Don't know. I'll do it again. I want you to know.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Oh, okay, yeah. Do you know that one, Brandon? No, I don't. Because it's like, don't make me look up in excess song. Everything is the Tarzan song. Oh, he goes, yeah, right now. Did you go? I want you to do that.
Starting point is 00:19:40 Okay. Okay, let's bring you now. Yeah, okay, I know that one. Is that? Oh, I need you tonight. That's what it is. Is that the same song? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:19:49 But I do know that. Oh, no. Okay, peace tomorrow. So that's in excess. Okay. I'm going to eliminate them. That's eliminate them. I enjoyed the bit we just did.
Starting point is 00:19:59 But I bet they're huge and I bet they probably deserve to be in there, but I just don't know them. Yeah, didn't they have the, what, the rock star Supernova show looking for a lead singer? For a new lead singer. That's right, Brandon. Fun fact, Brandon won that. Yeah. And then he just quit. He quit.
Starting point is 00:20:14 All he knew was, and they were like, nah, man, you got a lot more. Oh, oh, we know. A new sensation. I know that one. Netson say right now. Dun-dun-dun-ta-da-da-da-da. Diamond!
Starting point is 00:20:30 Want you to know! What else? Get four top ten singles in the U.S. That's not enough for Rock and a Hall of Fame. As far as our voting. Influence and impact? What do you think? I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:20:45 So eliminate. Eliminate. Iron Maiden. That's not for me. It's definitely not for me either. But I remember people would call me Eddie, the Iron Maiden, because I think the Iron Maiden mascot, his name was Eddie. I didn't know that. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:01 I think you're right. Which I think was the guy, you know, the skeleton and all the artwork. But no, dude, I couldn't name me. one Iron Maiden song. The only thing about Iron Maiden that I know, and Brandon's much more, Brandon's saying background vocals on the new, not Iron Maiden album, but the new Megadeth. Who's opening their tour this year?
Starting point is 00:21:19 Opening the Iron Maiden? Yeah. Oh, then you better say yes, because you'll get beat up. Yeah, totally awesome. They kind of set the standard for what, like, metal should look like and, like, beat, like the whole thing. Yeah. It's not for me.
Starting point is 00:21:33 Brandon, lend us something here. Big song Run for the Hills. If you hear it, you'd be like, yeah, I know that song. Okay, give us a little bit. Does it go, watch it now. Move on the hills. Does it have harmonizing guitars? Like, is that kind of their thing?
Starting point is 00:21:45 They do a ton of that stuff. Their cultural impact globally, there is a documentary called, it's called Flight 666. Totally appropriate. Their lead singer is a pilot, and he flies their 747 jet all over the world for their two years and stuff, right? Dude, if you were the pilot of our radio, idiots playing. That'd be so weird.
Starting point is 00:22:08 It's for real. But everywhere they go, I'm telling you, soccer stadiums, bro. They fill up soccer stadiums all over the world. Except America. Or do they do America too? They do America. I think it's more arena type stuff. But I, you know, like... So they aren't American.
Starting point is 00:22:24 They are not American. I think they're British, right? British, yeah. You know, Edward McCain drives his own tour bus. That's cool. Does he really? Well, I'll be. Get it? I'll be.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Yeah, yeah. Joy Division, new. order. Not my vibe. Man. Electronic is, I can't act like that I'm such a fan to vote for them because there are other good ones. I'm going to be ignorant on Joy Division. I listen to some before I came in.
Starting point is 00:22:50 It's not my thing. I can't vote for them. Same. I eliminate them. I would eliminate them too. I mean, if my brother were here, he would probably be able to speak on their music and how awesome they are. But, I mean, I don't know anything about them.
Starting point is 00:23:00 You? I just know the shirt. What shirt? The one of famous Joy Division shirt. and is it rock and roll? Well, it doesn't matter. I know that. Lauren Hill is Lauren Hall of Fame is just contemporary music.
Starting point is 00:23:14 Is Mariah Carey Rock and Roll? Yeah, dude. She did make a, wasn't she the one that made the secret rock album? It never came out. Oh, well, I mean, it never came out. Yeah. Yeah, that's a whole other debate about rock and roll because they do fight about it. But I think if it's contemporary music, that counts as rock and roll.
Starting point is 00:23:31 That's a good point. No, I like it. You don't like it, but that's okay. I understand why you. why you would say that. So are we eliminating Joy Division? I am. Yeah, I would eliminate.
Starting point is 00:23:42 Okay. New Edition. Dude, I don't know who they are. Who's new edition? You don't know New Edition? No. Sing me a song of theirs. Which one would you like?
Starting point is 00:23:54 Bobby Brown. Pick one. Oh, it's Bobby Brown? Yeah, man. Oh. Like, like, I want to cool it now. Cool.
Starting point is 00:24:03 It's hard for me to sing. Cool it now. Cool. You know the Kool-in-Now? No. Cool-in-now was a jam. Telephone man was a jam. But Bobby Brown was a big artist alone, right?
Starting point is 00:24:15 But outside of that. Okay, see, I don't... Johnny Gill was in. So you don't... Okay, so because of your lack of knowledge of it, you can eliminate it. I will leave them in for now. I would say eliminate based on that. I just don't want to act like, oh, yeah, they definitely need to be in.
Starting point is 00:24:28 I know nothing about it. I like New Edition growing up, but you can eliminate. I'm not choosing to, but if you do, we're gone. Are we at that stage yet? You can eliminate. We're just eliminating only. Are you eliminating?
Starting point is 00:24:44 I'm going to eliminate. I'm going to eliminate. Okay, good. Hators. Okay. All right. Oasis. You get to put them in.
Starting point is 00:24:52 Oasis? Wasn't Oasis in last year? Yeah, they make it. It doesn't really matter. They just put them in the Hall of Fame. I just don't want them mad at me. Build a wing. You know?
Starting point is 00:25:01 Yeah. I don't know what else we need to say about Oasis, except they hit us right in our right time. of our age of our lives. Yes, sure. Like, what's Story Morning Glory? Yes. When Wonderwall came out, it's like, what is that sound?
Starting point is 00:25:13 Right. Yeah, I love it. All. My wife, who is not an Oasis fan because she grew up beyond. She's basically 12 years younger than I am. She did not get to experience Oasis. When they were reuniting, it was all up in her TikTok feed. And she was like, I think I'm into this.
Starting point is 00:25:27 And so it was so much in her algorithm, she said, hey, they're getting back together in Manchester. Do you want to go to Manchester? Like, it convinced her that quick. That's cool. Oasis stays in, right? Absolutely. Do not eliminate.
Starting point is 00:25:38 Okay, we have five more. Pink. I'm coming up. That's one you go to. Interesting. Yes, that's my first Pink song. So I was in radio whenever Pink started in like 98 or so. There you go.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Talk about it. And she was assigned to like LaFace, which was, she was like a hip-hop artist at first, kind of. And that was kind of a presentation. And she's changed over the years because she's so, like, just so talented. Pink's awesome. You know what's weird about pink? I don't feel she's old.
Starting point is 00:26:11 That's me too. It's like, wow, like already. Do you guys think it's too early? It could be too early for some artists. I say, well, so 25 years after the debut album, I think that's it. So it's that for her. She started young. But she just is still so young to me now, like when I see her because she was feeling
Starting point is 00:26:29 in for Kelly Clarkson's show. Right. So relevant. Like it's not even about, yeah, it's not even about, that she doesn't deserve to be in. Yeah. I feel like she's so relevant now. And we saw her perform a few years ago at a festival
Starting point is 00:26:39 where she was, remember she was hanging? Abrobatic stuff. Like, I mean, she's so current. It's hard to see her as like a legend act. You know what I'm saying? I think that eliminates her because I think she deserves to get in. But I think she's still so relevant. She has so much more time to get in.
Starting point is 00:26:55 For sure. That half these other actors are going to die in next week. Yeah, so they need to get in. We need to expedite there. So I'm only eliminated. pink because she's so relevant now. Okay. Okay, I like that. It's a pure respect elimination.
Starting point is 00:27:08 That's a complimentary elimination. Do you want to jump in on that? I'm in. Okay, eliminate. Hang tight. The Bobbycast will be right back. Hello, gorgeous. It's Lala Kent. Host of Untraditionally Lala.

We're growing, we're thriving, and yes, sometimes we're barely surviving, but we do it all with love. It's unruly, it's unafraid, it's untraditionally Lala. Starting point is 00:30:59 I'm an alcoholic. and without this trouble I'm gonna die Open your free IHAR radio app Search the Cino Show And listen now Welcome back to the Bobbycast Shade A
Starting point is 00:31:25 Shadee Man if I tell you I listen to Shade in the bathtub If I tell you I've done it once I've done it a hundred times Wow When's the last time you did it? It's been a while Because I'm married now It's been a while
Starting point is 00:31:39 So she has a couple of songs You had no idea I know. Like smooth operator. I'm a smooth operator. And then never met. I just wish I could sing or play drama. And that is S-A-D-E, right?
Starting point is 00:31:55 Shade. With a thingy. Okay. Yeah. Oh, I remember her. She was really pretty. That sounded creepy. It sounded like when you said get off or whatever.
Starting point is 00:32:07 I remember her. She was pretty, dude. She was really pretty. Man, let me find this song from I usually think it was saudi Because that's how it's spelled But it isn't you're right And none of my friends ever listened to her
Starting point is 00:32:19 So I never had heard it So I only just said what I saw I'm gonna pull up here So the song that I love so much And I can't play it Because it's gonna be We're getting trouble It's not smooth operator
Starting point is 00:32:34 No smooth operator was a big hit But man the one that I listen to in the bathtub All the time The bathtub. Not that one, hold on. Oh, that saxophone, man. Jezebel, sweetest taboo.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Maybe it's not on our greatest hits. It was a B-side that you listened to in the bath? No, no, I'm telling you, if you heard it, let me see what her biggest songs are. If you heard this song, you'd probably want to take a bath. Well, let's hear it. That's how good it is. Mike, what's her biggest streaming song?
Starting point is 00:33:04 It is smoothed operator. Hmm. So would you purposely look for this song while you're in the bath or did it just come out on a playlist? It's a greatest song ever. That's not it. I got to find it and then come back. I can't put her in though. I can't base on a bedtime love alone.
Starting point is 00:33:21 I mean, you can do whatever you want. Time Hall of Fame. She'd be number one. Yeah, I definitely have to find what song it is. You think I've been inside you, baby. You know me better than that. That's how it kind of go. I'm kind of getting it now in my head.
Starting point is 00:33:37 By your side. That's it, by your side. Find it, find it. Oh, I can't really play it on this because Netflix will fire us. I just like hearing you sing it, man. I know, but I do too. Don't get me wrong. But I can never know what song it is when you're singing it.
Starting point is 00:33:48 Yeah. That's the hard part. I know. Still makes me want to take that. Hey, let's say we play like, no, I'll just play it for you a little bit. But it goes, I think I think of this, my, baby. You know me better than that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:02 All right. I love that song. Can't put her in. I'm going to have to eliminate her just because it to me. wasn't enough of a fan. We got three more before we pick. Shakira. Oh, Eddie's listened to it with his phone.
Starting point is 00:34:13 Oh, quietly. No, no, that's good, though. See if you recognize that. Okay. Eddie's got it up to us. A little acoustic guitar? Yeah. I wonder if it's the same.
Starting point is 00:34:20 It's called by your side? That's it, yeah, yeah. You can hear a little bit. And then you hear it go, Tink your side, baby. All I'm doing now is picturing near the bath. Eyes closed?
Starting point is 00:34:30 Bubbles too. Bubbles are you. Are you playing with any? What's wrong with you? No, listen. Like a rubber ducky. You have toys. What's wrong with you?
Starting point is 00:34:37 I've heard this song. Isn't it awesome? You know me better than that. I'm going to eliminate though. Yeah, I'm with you. Eliminate. Shakira. Shakira.
Starting point is 00:34:50 A little bit of pink complex here. Not as much pink because I think pink's a little more relevant. I think Shakira internationally is massive. Shakira, like what comes to mind? You, White Cliff doing hips don't lie? Hips don't lie for sure. And then there is one that came. came out in a cartoon, I think, like Zootopia.
Starting point is 00:35:08 Say everything. How about whenever, whatever, we'll be together. A little bit of the pink complex here. I think she's still a little too young for me to give her a spot right now. It's a bit of age discrimination, I know. Are we eliminating too much, though? Are we going to run out of people? I don't think so much, though, are we going to have two more to talk about.
Starting point is 00:35:24 Luther Vandros. The NCAA tournament is not as sweet as it can be without. One shiny moment. One shining moment. That's right. Lusufandros was kind of a one-on-one meaning
Starting point is 00:35:39 he did the whole came up Apollo theater where they would just boo you if you suck Oh yeah, oh yeah Is that the cane? Would they get the cane out? No, that's the frog on Looney tunes. Hello, Mom. Hello, baby, hello, no. Yeah, you're going to make a confused.
Starting point is 00:35:56 He was like a background singer, songwriter, like a ranger through the 70s. Was like, I don't want to say crooner because I don't know if that's enough if that's respectful enough I love like your endless love
Starting point is 00:36:12 yeah yeah I remember that one and the dance with my father remember dance with my father that's all makes me want to cry because I didn't have a father and I can't and I couldn't dance really You can dance with them because you didn't have one but that was a great song
Starting point is 00:36:24 I bet that hit hard for you yeah what about the Kendrick song like Luther it's Lord of Luther It's Luther Okay so that's Luther of Andros right That song's Luther.
Starting point is 00:36:34 See, that's cool. I'm leaving Luther Mandra Sand. Yeah, I like that. So, too. And then Wutang. I don't know how this thing happens without Wutang. I'm going to be honest with you. Are you not a Wutang guy?
Starting point is 00:36:43 I mean, I don't know a lot of Wutang. Man, this is a bad year for me, dude. There's a lot of, I'm finding myself saying I don't know a lot of these. I'm going to say something controversial. I think that ODB, even by himself, is one of the best hip-hop artists that ever existed. And ODB wasn't in Ku Klux. Did you just have a stroke? Wu-Tang.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Wu-Tang. Why did that even creep in? What was wrong with me today? U-T-N. O'D-D-V was in Wutang? Yeah. Okay. Met the man, ghost face killer.
Starting point is 00:37:22 I know all those guys. Yeah. Rayquan. You're crazy, man. What's going on? I'm sure there are others that I'm not pulling. Those are the ones that kind of my mind the most. I know all those guys.
Starting point is 00:37:33 So what were you saying None of this could be I just don't think I think that was like a collective that was They made freaking And again you had to understand This is a white guy from Arkansas saying this
Starting point is 00:37:47 Right? Because people are going to be like You don't know if you're right You're right They were so great And new and transcendent as a group And then they had the ability To all break off into their own projects
Starting point is 00:37:59 And then still come back And like Wootang forever but I also grew up in a school that wasn't white. So I have a lot of... Dude, I don't know. I was a Wu-Tang kid for a big part of my kidness. So you love them. And I love ODB.
Starting point is 00:38:17 Oh, baby, you? No. Nope. Who is that? That is... So you'd never met a girl that you try to date. And you never do but da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-d that you try to date. ride a date. Yeah, you
Starting point is 00:38:33 got what I need. That's not ODB. Miz Marquis. Yeah, Biz Marquis. He was also on the kid show. Remember? A kid's show. He played the music in the Nickelodeon show? You can't say that on television? No, no, no. Oh, you don't know anything about Bizmarchy do you? No, I don't. Yo, Gaba-gabba-gabba.
Starting point is 00:38:50 He was a music galba. Maybe like this Swika-Wika-Wika-Wikaboo! Yo, Gabba-Gab-A. And go, Bism Marquis is not out for it. Okay, he's not out for it. Wow. Okay, so here's who we have. that we haven't eliminated. We got to pick seven.
Starting point is 00:39:05 All right. We got the Black Crows. Mariah, Phil Collins. That's three. Lauren Hill. Oasis. Luther Vandros and Wu Tank. That's seven.
Starting point is 00:39:19 I think we picked our seven here. Well, that was easy. That's easy, dude. That's what I'm saying. We were eliminating a lot while we were just talking that I'm like, are we going to have enough? I think we did it. Okay. Can you name those again?
Starting point is 00:39:30 Black Crows? I'm going to vote. I got to vote in for the Black Crows. Boom. Are you submitting right now? Right now. That's awesome. And by the way, if anyone is watching this from the committee,
Starting point is 00:39:38 turn channel. Because we've done this before, and I keep waiting to not be invited back as a member. But you do. And I still get the invites like, please vote. Mariah Carey, that's two. I'm going to make sure here. Phil Collins, that's three. That's good.
Starting point is 00:39:54 Lauren Hill, that's four. Oasis is five. Luther Vandros is six and Wu-Tang is seven. That's awesome, dude. There you go. We did it. Okay, so I did it. All seven.
Starting point is 00:40:08 Wu-Tang. Do you want to see, like, here's my votes, just to show you guys, the yellow ones here. Okay. All of them. And I'm going to do submit my votes. All right. I'm a little hurt that Jeff Buckley's not in there, but it's okay. There's always next year.
Starting point is 00:40:21 You already submit it's too late? I don't. Well, they want to know, hold on. Age range. Okay. Your age range? Well, then it's ethnicity and race, and I think combined, we're kind of a, it's in a pickle, but we're just going to go with line. We're just going to go.
Starting point is 00:40:34 No, we're not a hybrid. Yeah, we're hybrid. Yeah, we're hybrid. Okay, Caucasian. All right, we're in, boys. Okay. Occasion, got it, check. Yeah, two versus one. Yeah, that's fine, dude.
Starting point is 00:40:47 That's fine. Thank you. So I feel good. Everybody feel good about that? Yeah, kind of. Okay. Okay, thanks for listening to that episode. What you're going to hear in the next episode,
Starting point is 00:40:58 they may already even be up by the time you hear this, but tomorrow, if you're listening to this brand new, is with Chris Robinson, the lead singer of the Black Crows. So he's one of the artists that we just picked that should go in the rock and roll hall of fame. So listen to that. Thank you for listening. And until next time, bye, everybody.
