Starting point is 00:02:54 All right. Today's show's over. Thanks for hanging out with us. We're about to do... If you're on the podcast, you'll get to hear it coming up in a second. What don't I start with this? So, Eddie told me that you got a call yesterday
Starting point is 00:03:03 from Lunchbox's daycare. Is that true? Sure did. Who wants to go first? Lunchbox, you're ready? Oh, go ahead, Eddie. I mean, I don't know what his angle. I have no idea.
Starting point is 00:03:12 There's no angle. There's no angle. Well, yeah, I know what it is. Okay. There's no angle. Lunchbox, you go first. Okay. Well, my kid was at daycare,
Starting point is 00:03:21 and they called me, and the only reason they called me in the middle of the day, is if he has a fever. And I knew, oh, great, that means they want me to come pick him up immediately. I hadn't had a nap. So I just ignored their call. And I went home and took a nap. And soon then they go down the list of people,
Starting point is 00:03:39 they called my wife, she was in a meeting, couldn't get a hold of her, called my mother-in-law, and then I guess they called Eddie. And there we go. Third in line emergency call. They call me. So wait, you knew they were calling because your kid had a fever and you still didn't pick up? Yeah. I assume that's why.
Starting point is 00:03:55 why they were calling in the middle of the day is because he had a fever. And I said, man, if I can buy one hour, hour and a half, get my nap in, get some lunch, it'll make my day so much easier. So that's what I did. Amy, what do you think about this? Crazy to me a little bit. What's crazy about it? Eddie ended up having to get the call first.
Starting point is 00:04:16 I mean, that or I would think if your kid was sick, you'd really want to get up there and get him out of there. Right. That's what I'm saying. Like, now it's falling on Eddie, which is so bizarre. Eddie doesn't have to go get the kid Well I know but if I were to get a call About my friend's kid I'd be like where's my friend wondering if something's wrong
Starting point is 00:04:33 Is everything okay? Like lunchbox must be in a car accident Or in jail Well no that's not what I thought What did you think? Immediately he was napping And I told him that too And I'm like he's probably napping
Starting point is 00:04:44 He leaves work and goes straight to bed Pretty much But at the same time you worry too You're like you can't get a hold of his mom either Like I know he's a slacker But his mom like she usually I mean she's got to pick up when the daycare calls. So I'm thinking like, all right, well, I got to figure out how to get to the
Starting point is 00:04:59 daycare and pick up this kid. And then what do I do? Take him home until... Foster another kid. Until homeboy wakes up? I don't know, man. So what happened? They called and said what to you? They called and said that, hey, we've been trying to get a hold of this baby's dad. There's no answer. We tried his mom, no answer. And so now we're at you. And we're wondering if you can pick, pick him up. we're like, ah, I don't know, let me call it, let me call you back. So I called my wife and she's like, well, let me try to call, let me try to call, you know, lunchboxes his wife again and figured out. But then we figured, I guess my wife called the daycare back and then they said,
Starting point is 00:05:38 no, we heard back from the dad. He's on his way to pick him up. Well, good for you for waking up. Yeah, I mean, my wife was in, she's out of town, so she couldn't have done anything. She's in a big, long meeting with corporate people. And so she couldn't answer her phone. And I just figured it wasn't. isn't going to hurt. And they didn't leave a voicemail, so I knew it wasn't an emergency.
Starting point is 00:05:57 And then when I went to pick him up, they told me, oh, your voicemail's full. I was like, oh, did you not bother you that your baby was sick and probably needed to get out of there? I mean, he wasn't, he couldn't be that sick because I saw him that morning and he was, he was good, he was smiling and laughing. So, I mean, I figure a little fever wasn't going to hurt anybody. I figure he got the germs from those kids. So, I mean, he's in the place. He got it. What's the big deal. Amy, your thoughts? I think a little fever does hurt people. Yeah. I mean, if we have a little fever, do we come to work? Yeah. I miss a couple days because I had a fever. Yeah. I don't know. I just feel like Lunchbox is a really good dad and he's on top of it. I just find this, so I find this to be bizarre.
Starting point is 00:06:44 Listen, guys. Out of character. I get how it fits his character because he loves to nap, like, loves to nap more than anybody I know. But like, you're a response. responsible parent. I know, but being a single dad for four days is hard. It wears on you. And so I needed a little bit of time to be able to eat lunch, take a nap, so I could be there for my sick child. I think he went too hard at the wedding. No, he definitely went too hard at the
Starting point is 00:07:09 wedding. And then you're like, man, I need to recover. It has nothing to do with going hard at the wedding. It has nothing to do with that. So like, wait, I don't know. I guess I'm just confused. You just don't think it's a big deal to leave if the daycare is calling you about your kid, you just ignore it. If it was an emergency, then it would be a big deal. He had a little fever. He was a hundred point four. What? That's an
Starting point is 00:07:31 emergency, right? The baby to have a hundred? I don't know. I don't have a baby. But if my kid had 100.4, if I have 100.4, I'm freaking out. I mean, you feel bad, but he was just napping. He was asleep at the daycare. Well, that happened yesterday. Eddie said, I got a call from lunchbox's daycare. The dad of the year.
Starting point is 00:07:47 And I was like, what? He goes, yeah. Lachfog was going to go pick up a sick baby. But you were about to. I was. I was. I was. trying to figure out what to do. I would have picked them up and then kept them the whole day, I guess. A new foster kid over Eddie. And what's one more kid at the house?
Starting point is 00:08:01 Is there a difference in three and four? Yeah. Three kids and four kids? Absolutely. There is. I think anytime you add one. Well, so many friends that have multiple kids are like, if you have two, it's kind of all the same.
Starting point is 00:08:10 I think when they're all older, it's all the same. But the fact that we have a baby at the house, kind of changes things out. And then we added lunchboxes baby. Yeah, you're talking about newborn, one-year-old, four-year-old, five-year-old, 11-year-old. Yeah, it's a crazy house. also yesterday.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Well, Amy and I were both up here yesterday evening. I was interviewing an executive producer candidate, and Amy was doing her podcast. Is that one up, by the way? Tomorrow. Tomorrow? Tomorrow Thursday? Yeah. Tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:08:36 So it's not up yet. So we were up here in the afternoon, just kind of talking, hanging out. And Amy said she walked in, and Ray was on the phone. Our producer Ray was on the phone with a gambling place. I didn't even know you could talk to them on the phone. I wasn't, you're not money.
Starting point is 00:08:51 It's a completely free thing to do. On his computer, he had like all these baseball stats, and he's on the phone with this girl, and he's like, look, this is the one I wanted. And she's like, okay, I'll take it. Are you talking to a bookie? No, it wasn't a bookie. They wanted it to be a bookie because they wanted me to go back down my gambling path. But this is a free website. Kids play it.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Adults, there was nothing wrong with it. They just made a mistake on my stats, so I had to call him. He was correcting the stuff so that he, yeah, I don't know. You called a place to correct a free set? Yeah. That you don't care about. Well, you can play it for free, but if you're very, very, very. good at it. You can end up winning millions
Starting point is 00:09:25 of dollars. But it's a long road. So that's why I called them because it was actually a pretty huge mistake and they corrected it. So that's the reason I called it because usually if you don't call customer service, they don't care. I'm just one person trying for this million dollar prize. Did they fix it? Yeah. What's the stat? Like what's the game? So you get
Starting point is 00:09:41 to use a mulligan. You try and get the 57 game hitting streak. You win 5.6. What does that mean 57 game hitting streak? You pick a player every day in baseball and you try to get 57 players in a row to get a hit. So if you get that, you get $5.6 million. Bones, it's impossible. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:09:55 It's very possible. But I was already the way, and from 10 to 15, you get a mulligan. If you're in that range, you get to use one, and I use my mulligan, and they just put me back to zero. So it's just a glitch in the system. She apologized. She put me back to 11-game hitting streak. So, what am I? Yeah, 40 away.
Starting point is 00:10:10 How do you eat an elephant? Bones, you know how long? You know how long this? One bite at a time. You can't get 50. He's got to start at one. Bones, this competition's been around forever. Why?
Starting point is 00:10:20 Because no one ever hits it. One day. That's what people say. until they land on the moon. Oh, is that what happened? All right, Ray, good luck. Five million dollars. Thank you, dude. Odds are not in his favor, but the odds are never in anyone's favor to be great. And it's free, so why not try it? And so you're aware? I'm at 11. Who didn't get a hit for you? Mancini for Baltimore. And you decided to go with him, who was pitching against him? I don't know the pitcher, but it was a day game, so I could watch it and I knew I had a mulligan.
Starting point is 00:10:49 So from 10 to 15, you got the mulligan, why not use it? So I was like, I'll just watch him, and he sucked. get one hit. Big O for four day. O for four day, but today we got Aronado, so hopes are high. I appreciate you picking all my fantasy players. So do all you guys do this hit streak thing? I did it. Me and Lunchbox did it for a few weeks. I did it for a couple months. I got up to seven.
Starting point is 00:11:07 I couldn't get over seven. I was like, I'm done. That would be fun to all get in against each other, much like a survivor pulling football. You do the hit streak thing if like four or five guys get in and go, okay, this is, and then you all put in 20 bucks, and you continue it over and over and over again. It is so hard. See, that's fun.
Starting point is 00:11:23 No, but that's not hard to do that. No, no, I see what you're saying. Yeah, I see what you're saying. But it's fun, but to try for the $5.6 million or whatever Ray's doing, like, it's really hard. Yeah, I mean, of course, it's $5.6 million. That's why it's hard. It wouldn't give you $5.6 million for easiness. Like lottery, it's hard.
Starting point is 00:11:37 And that's why she answered her, the operator was just like, sure, have your mulligan back. You're never going to get it anyway. Lauren Elaine is calling me. Oh, awesome. Let's see. Hello. Give her heads up. Hey.
Starting point is 00:11:48 Hello. Hey, we're on right now, so anything you say is on. Oh, you're on the air? Yeah. Yes. How is it going today? It's awesome, right? The GMA stuff's awesome, right?
Starting point is 00:11:59 Watch it. No, not yet. We're still at the studio. Have you started practicing dancing? Oh, yeah, that's not good. Have you started practicing dancing? No. No practice yet.
Starting point is 00:12:22 No, none. And have you announced your partner? Wait, they were up there, though, today. You follow someone, one of the pros on your Instagram already. That's not your partner? I thought that too, but you know all the concerns. Conspiracy websites are saying that Alan is your partner. What?
Starting point is 00:12:50 Who is your favorite person that you got to meet today? And you were like, oh, it's so cool that they're also on the cast of Dancing with the Stars. Yeah? Are you so like, like, are you asking me or just someone in the car? Where are you going now? Oh, I'll see you tonight then. Well, I'll see you tonight then. It's so awesome.
Starting point is 00:13:41 Your whole world's about to change. And then let me know when you want to come on the show and talk about when you start, you know, getting ready. Okay, I'll give you all my, I told you. I told you. Yeah. You're still... Oh, you're breaking up. Do you hear me?
Starting point is 00:14:00 Oh, you're breaking up. Oh, no. She's frozen. All right, Lauren, I'll talk to you tonight. Okay, bye. All right, bye. That's pretty cool. That was just like a little conversation.
Starting point is 00:14:11 Like, we saw you just having a regular conversation. Well, I gave her a heads up. She was on or it had been a lot more like, all right, here's what you got to do. Oh, yeah. Here's the key to not being good and being able to win. Here's how you start early. Here's how you can have all these inadequacy issues.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Work your brain. butt off. It's more than that. Way more than that. That's the blanket bottom. You just got to work harder than everybody else because so many people are going to have dance experience. I didn't know that Sharna wasn't going to be on this season until like a day or two ago. And she
Starting point is 00:14:38 posted now today that she is not on. I don't know if that's this season or ever. I don't know. I'm so surprised. They didn't bring McDardom, who's now dating Nikki Bella, which is crazy because he's making all the gossip sites everywhere. That had been a big put over. Or Sharna who's like the most popular female
Starting point is 00:14:55 answer. So I don't know why. I haven't spoken to her like with words since she found out. We just texted back and forth, but I saw our post out this morning. So, and Lauren, you know, is on. I've kind of been involved in that process. Even from last year, she came on and sang when I was on, and I was like, you got to do the show. Stayed with it the whole time. Lauren, you got to do the show. Producers are like, yeah, we love Lauren. Lauren, you got to do the show. And then to now. So I'll be secretly mentoring her.
Starting point is 00:15:23 man that's a mentor to get America's mentor America's mentor thank you Yeah I appreciate that I had some other notes Oh Pat Green by the way Is our
Starting point is 00:15:36 On the countdown this weekend He is our spotlight artist of the week And so I've put him in I thought you're gonna say he's coming up here I mean if you weren't in town he'd come up here Pat Green come up here I'd have Pat Green on the show Yeah
Starting point is 00:15:48 But Pat Green is going to be our spotlight artist The Week on the country top 30 And he did a cover his new song is a cover of an old U-2 song. Here, play this one, Raymonda. It's called Trip 3 Your Wire. It's from YouTube, but Pat Green does a version. And so I'll put him on the countdown this weekend.
Starting point is 00:16:09 It's a cool version. His manager hit me up and was like, dude, appreciate that. You put us on a national show. I was like, dude, it's a great version. I like Pat. He's been on the show when we were not here he was doing our show.
Starting point is 00:16:19 Yeah. So I thought that was cool. This one kid, he said the Twitch record for most hours streamed in a month. Twitch is the platform you can watch people play video games on. He played 19-hour. a day for a month. His girlfriend fed him
Starting point is 00:16:33 while he played. And then he slept the other five hours? Yeah, he did 542 hours in a month. He averaged about 19 hours a day for the first 22 days, four hours of sleep and one hour in between for life things, or more sleep. Sometimes
Starting point is 00:16:50 just life things and no sleep. And so he said, not healthy, but he set the record. Listen, if you're going to do it, do it hard. Good for him. How old is he? Who knows? Eight. No, he's got a girlfriend. Okay, 18?
Starting point is 00:17:02 Yeah. Do we know how old he is, Mike? It doesn't say on here. I would imagine he's like 19 or 20. But yeah, he's, he goes by the scream name, It's Armand. Your kid's still not interested in video games, not Amy? No. All right.
Starting point is 00:17:18 I mean, they have little games on their tablet. But they're not interested in gaming. No. One other thing I wanted to mention was Morgan number two is comparing herself to a movie character. And what character was that? Oh, you don't know this is... She's like, oh, God. I told Bobby, sorry.
Starting point is 00:17:35 It's just conversation off the air? Yeah. Yes, this is a secret. If you've seen the movie Holes, there's a character in it called Kissing Kate Barlow, and she basically kills people and then kisses them on the cheek and, like, leaves. So she kisses them, then they die? No, she kills them, and then her signature is she kisses them on the cheek and, like, rides away.
Starting point is 00:17:57 So I was comparing that to her. my dating life because I'll be I'll like kiss a guy on the cheek and I'll be like bye bye I'm out so I'm like kissing Kate Barlow and dating life and what what prompted this I I'm no longer talking to is that right yeah you kissed him I said peace out kind of yeah what happened there anything you want to say it just just wasn't there like I Eddie was also there when I was crafting like the kind of ending text because I just like I'm not good at that it's so awkward teeth emoji. Those ending text, and trust me, I've been on the receiving end of a couple of them.
Starting point is 00:18:32 They're tough. Would you read it? I think he has people in his office that listen, so I don't know. It's not him saying anything. No. It took her a while to compose it. You've already said, and if it's anything personal about him, I would say not to. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:18:50 Hold on. But you've already said that you crafted a text. I did. And he was really nice about it. Like really nice about it. Bones, it kind of reminded us, it reminded me of our new song. Remember a new song that we just wrote?
Starting point is 00:19:05 Which one? It's not you, it's me. Oh, yeah. It's kind of like that. Really? Yeah. I haven't read of the lyrics too. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:19:13 it's kind of like this morning number two. You get on your mom? No, it's not that bad. Okay, go ahead. I'll leave out the, like, the name part. I said I haven't, this is like a hay. Like, I haven't.
Starting point is 00:19:27 Is this tough to hear? Is this tough to hear? Okay. Go, go, go. I want out of the room. I said I haven't been feeling really anything towards relationships lately, and I think it'd be unfair to you if I continue hanging out. I'm just in a really weird place right now.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Because he had asked me to hang out, and I didn't. Oh. Man, I just, it's like PTSD. That wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Well, you're not on the receiving end of it, though. You get those, and you're like, Oh, like, here's what I think when you put that, because I've got those. It's like, man, I was trying so hard.
Starting point is 00:20:03 And it's obviously not a relationship thing because if she was into him, she would be into it. Right. And you go, well, that was nice of her to say you suck. Yeah. But she's in a weird place with the relationships right now. I know, but that's how I take it. Like, oh. It's so hard, though, because, and honestly, like, it's so bad.
Starting point is 00:20:22 But this is sometimes why I ghost really early on because it's so uncomfortable. And he was so great about it. so it was fine, but most of the time they're not. He was funny. He cracked a joke, and he was like, no hard feelings. Like, I get it. Still get a 3 p.m. for ginger bites removal. Well, he made a joke. He was like, if you need a dentist in town, hit me up.
Starting point is 00:20:39 And I was like, okay. Maybe he was serious. Is that a joke? Oh, that's a joke. Oh, man. What if she really? So, wait. What's up?
Starting point is 00:20:48 Now what's up? I don't know. I don't know. The connection part is really important to me. So if I don't feel that, then I don't feel that. So I just got to move. on and keep trying, I guess. Nobody else.
Starting point is 00:20:59 Let me ask you this question. This is a real-life question. With Ramundo, Eddie, Lunchbox, Mike D, and myself. It's hard for other guys to live up to the standards of the men you're already around all the time. Oh, that's a good question. It's got to be tough.
Starting point is 00:21:15 What is it? I got the perfect five of you guys. You have your all personalities. I got all y'all in my life already. It's got to be tough. Like some dudes, got to come in and try to match this basket of masculinity.
Starting point is 00:21:27 and brains and dance championships. Morgan number two, do you ever break up with somebody? They're just not like Eddie or Bobby or lunchbox. Do you ever you ever craft one of those?
Starting point is 00:21:40 Listen, Gerald, I think you're great. But you're no Bobby. You're no Bobby. The weird thing about Morgan number two, where she sits is like, Eddie, can you put the camera on? Yeah. So when I look this way,
Starting point is 00:21:55 I'm looking at Ray Mundo and then one inch from Raimundo it's Morgan number two's head. So she thinks I'm always staring at her. So her head's always up going, are you staring at me? And so I'm always like, not looking at you, I'm looking at Ray. And then sometimes I'll be looking at her, she's like, you're looking at Ray? We're never
Starting point is 00:22:11 exactly right on, but they're both I got a message yesterday. They're knocking out the rest of this window. Oh, they are? Yeah. So we're going to be able to I don't know actually how this can affect anything with those two. We got to, it's kind of bad planning to put somebody right behind Ray Moon. No. But this is always a thing.
Starting point is 00:22:30 It is. You'll be like, why are you staring at me? I was like, I thought you were looking at me, but you weren't. Probably compare me to that dentist. Is that what it is? All right. Thank you. I'm sorry to hear that it's not working out for you. I'm sorry. I'm sorry to hear that's not working out for you. I am. Okay. I appreciate it. Moving on. Is that it? Are you good? Who are you texting over there?
Starting point is 00:22:52 I'm good. I'm checking on a pillow that I. You know Craig from Southern Charm? No. What? Have you ever watched Southern Charm? No, no, we don't know, no, Craig. I don't even know what Southern Charm is. I thought it was like a gas station or a magazine.
Starting point is 00:23:07 On Bravo? You don't know Shep. You're texting Craig from Southern Marr? It was on Instagram, a DM. We're in the middle of a segment. Oh, Craig DM'd you? Oh, my goodness. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:23:17 It was like one thing, and we could talk about it on the show. So he's this really cool guy. It's a reality show on Bravo, and he makes these pillows. and they're so cute, and I ordered it a crab one. And I need, I ordered it a month ago. And it's not here. So is it bad that I reached out? I mean, I ordered it from his website paid for it.
Starting point is 00:23:35 He doesn't really know me. But I'm like, I'm desperate. I got to get this pillow by Friday. So I was so desperate to message that during Lauren Elena calling in. During Morgan No. 2's vulnerable state. I wasn't texting me during Lauren, Morgan No. 2's. It was when Lauren Elena was on the phone. And you were having your own conversation with her.
Starting point is 00:23:52 Yeah, but I need you. I was there? I looked over and you were like pillow, crab, or shappie weppy weppy from... It was like two sentences. It took like one second. I'm sorry. But if anybody knows Craig...

Starting point is 00:29:39 Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby bones. Let's know. Transmitting across America. is the Bobby Bones show. That's right. Now, here he is. Turn it up.
Starting point is 00:29:52 Come on, Bobby. Hey, hey, welcome to Wednesday's show. Good morning, studio. Morning. Amy, how you been sleeping? I'm pretty good. Yeah, you? Yeah, pretty good.
Starting point is 00:30:01 Good. Amy walked in the office this morning. I was like, are you sleeping? I've been sleeping pretty good. Yeah. Like, for the past month. I got a little off because we went to and did a couple shows, and then we didn't get to like four in the morning.
Starting point is 00:30:13 I just don't have it in me anymore to stay up until three, four in the morning. Right. And then bounce back. It takes me a couple days. Yeah, I agree. It was like when I would go out on Morgan number two, she'd be like, let's go out to the club. I'd be like, oh, goodness. And it's fun while you're doing it, and you're out until two.
Starting point is 00:30:28 Then you're just a wrecked the next day and then erect the day after that. I'm still suffering from going out with club with her. I haven't fully gotten there. That was like two months ago. Back feeling good today. We got a big show. A couple performances today, Walker Burroughs, who was on American Idol. He was in top 10, and he's on tour with us, but also will be talking to American
Starting point is 00:30:48 an idol and he's going to perform this hour. Really fantastic. Also, Grace Potter will be in who I'm a huge fan of Grace Potter and so she's going to come in and play too. She's got a new song that's coming out maybe tomorrow. Maybe today it came out? I'm not sure.
Starting point is 00:31:04 I should look at that before I come on the air. Don't you think? But I'm such a big fan that have been like if Grace Potter wants to come by and just look at you. I'd be like, yes. Yes, yes, please. So Grace Potter will be in too. So it's going to be a good show. I did see that Old Town Road is finally off the top of the billboard chart. Oh, what?
Starting point is 00:31:21 For the first time, it's been, what do you think? Don't know. What song had set the record for number two? Can't remember. Billy Eilish. Remember this song? Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:31:35 My kids. Turn it up. You just rolled your eyes and then you'll turn it up. No, that's what my kids say in the car. Turn it up. They like this one? And they don't know the words. That's a good pop song.
Starting point is 00:31:48 You just know the melody and you don't know the words. Yeah, I know. They write a lot of those pop songs like that. They just come up with the melody and they just insert words later. Yeah, it is a jam. This is the new number one song. How about that? It replaced Old Town Road.
Starting point is 00:31:59 Big deal because it had been setting it number two forever. Yeah. So I saw that this morning. Today in country music, this is always fun to start the show. Raymond, do you hit me with that. The Bobby Bones show on this day in country music. Capital Records released If Tomorrow Never Comes by Garth Brooks. If Tomorrow
Starting point is 00:32:18 The song was written by Garth and Kent Blazy, released in 1989 on this day. Garth said he ran the idea for the song by a lot of writers, but no one was like, let's do it. Everybody was like, I don't know. Until someone introduced him to Kent Blazy, who, after Garth told him the idea, Kent had the first verse within 15 seconds.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Still, the song almost became a hit for someone else. They pitched it to several artists right away, and George Jones actually had it on hold. Garth then started playing it at songwriter rounds. He was still unsigned. And this is actually the song Garth played when the guy from Capitol Records saw him and thought, well, maybe I missed something here
Starting point is 00:32:56 and invited him back to talk about a record deal. So this is Garth Brooks on our show back in June confirming that urban legend about the record deal. So Lynn Schultz was the guy at Capitol that came up to Bob and said, where'd we leave it? Bob said, I think he told us you'd get back with us. It was a sweet way for Bob to say you passed on us.
Starting point is 00:33:13 And the guy said, maybe we missed something. Bring him in. The cat's name was Ralph Murphy that was supposed to go on there. for Ralph Murphy, I wouldn't have my deal. So I don't know if things always end up, you know, the way they're supposed to or not, but that's your, that's how it happened for me. There you go. Today and country music, this song is released if tomorrow never comes at 1989. Why don't we play it? You want to start off a little slow? Yeah. Stay awake, folks. It's a little slow song, but we can do this. All right. The Bobby Bones Show. Big Three Stories.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Ray Mundo, what you got? In Louisiana, there was a report of an armed intruder on LSU's campus. They investigated. There wasn't a threat, so the campus has been given the all-clear. off the coast of Florida, they're still searching for those two firefighters who are lost at sea. They've been missing since Friday. They did find a tackle bag, so they are hopeful. And finally, at San Francisco's airport, they're now banning plastic water bottles. They no longer sell them, so you have to bring your own reusable container. Back to you, Bones.
Starting point is 00:34:05 All right, that's the news. Coming up, we'll do a couple things. One, we have a caller on the phone who said she wants to ask a very personal show question. So I'll put her on. And also, we'll do some easy trivia. Walker Burroughs is going to come in to perform from American Idol. Little red-haired kid looks like Harry Potter. He's so good.
Starting point is 00:34:21 He's going to do a song from a Disney movie. It'll be good. That's what's all coming up here on the Bobby Bone Show. Bobby Bones. Good. Bobby Bones Show. Hey, good morning, everybody. Brittany in Maryland is on the phone.
Starting point is 00:34:34 Hey, Brittany, what's happening? Hey, Bobby, how are you? We're real good. What do you want to say? I just wanted to ask you all. I know it's your job to talk to each other. So I was wondering, do you guys ever get sick of each other, sick of seeing each other, or feel like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed?
Starting point is 00:34:52 I think Amy and I probably spend the most time together. I normally, I don't get sick of you. Like, almost never. Occasionally, I think... I feel like sometimes we get irritated. Sometimes we get irritated. And that's mostly our own individual fault. Right.
Starting point is 00:35:04 Like if I've got no sleep and I'm grumpy, it's not Amy's fault. I don't want to see her face. Right. But sometimes we just take it out on each other. Just as you do, like, with most people that you're comfortable with, they see certain sides of you that other people wouldn't see necessarily. Yeah. That's true. Yeah. So I would say no. I actually, I don't get tired of Amy. I actually like seeing Amy. When she walks in in the morning, I'm always like, hey, it is good to see Amy every single day.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Some days, it's my fault. If I'm like, bleh. Well, same. Same to me. Like, it's my fault if I'm bleh. We get blah. And we do take it out on each other. Yes. We're basically the two, though, the see each other the most here on the show. I see Eddie a lot, though, because we're on the road together. On the weekends, yeah. I don't get tired of you. I don't get tired of you either.
Starting point is 00:35:46 You probably could get tired of me, though. I don't. I feel like whenever I get a text from you, whenever I'm at home already, then I'm just like, oh, gosh, what does he want? Then I get that feeling sometimes. I'm like, oh, he just wants to talk. Okay, cool, cool. I usually think you just want to work, and I'm like, oh, my gosh, he wants to work again.
Starting point is 00:36:03 But other than that, no, I don't get tired of you, dude. Yeah, we're all kind of rooted and liking to be around each other, you know? So, Morgan number two, I see you some. Yeah. We hang out a little bit. Yeah, I don't ever get tired of you. Thank you very much. Appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:36:20 You get tired of me. Sometimes Morgan number two hits me up. Sometimes Morgan ever hits me up. She goes, you want to go to the gym? I'm like, when? She's like, noon. I'm like, no, I can't go out. I'm not going to noon?
Starting point is 00:36:29 Are you out of your mind? No, I think that it's a pretty good group here. Eddie, you get tired of seeing lunchbox? Um, some, just sometimes when we argue, it's just like, we argue. Oh, I guess you guys do argue. We argue a lot. Because y'all talk here and you do a podcast together every day. And we argue a lot. We just butt heads a lot. But because of?
Starting point is 00:36:49 Difference of opinion. And you do sit right by each other. We do, yes. Lunchbox guitar to Eddie? Yeah. Okay, there you have it, folks. What about Eddie? What grind your gears? Oh, man. Eddie is lazy.
Starting point is 00:37:02 No, that's not true. Wow. Wow. See, he says stuff like that. Oh, wait, hold on. We need to discuss this further. Wow. He comes out swinging. Wow, you just got called lazy.
Starting point is 00:37:12 I know. That's terrible. Why? Oh, man. Like, I don't know. He just, oh, I just. This is a same space. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:37:22 You're not going to go there? What? Nope. He's great. He's great. Okay. All right. I'll say that I think Eddie and I work so well together as a team because I am so type A.
Starting point is 00:37:32 And he is a content type B. Yeah. And it works for us because I'm happy just, I'm happier actually that he's not like, hey, let me jump in some of this sometimes because I'm just like, let me guide the ship. It's like, great, I'll be the greatest number two you ever need. And our relationship works because of that. Is that fair to say? Yes, and I like how you lead things because usually know what you want and I trust that.
Starting point is 00:37:54 If I didn't trust you, I would be like, no, what are we doing here? Do you trust lunchbox? Thanks so much. Well, listen, Brittany, I think that you're hearing everybody. you know, talk about, it's just personalities, more so than it is, how good people.
Starting point is 00:38:11 Everybody on their show is a good person. I mean, I'm not type A either, so that probably is what works with us. And I'm probably a little too much type A. You're A plus. Yeah, very A plus. But, you know, I know who I am.
Starting point is 00:38:22 That's right. Like, for sure. Yeah. So. I'm laid back, but not as laid back as Eddie. But like, like, if you and Eddie ever get,
Starting point is 00:38:29 if he ever, because sometimes Eddie will snap. He's tired. That's when he's tired. Yeah, he'll snap. He'll snap. But it's so. crazy, he gets over it so fast. I feel like if you and I ever snap, it takes a minute. No, it just takes
Starting point is 00:38:40 you a minute. Because when I get in with people, Eddie or Ray, it's like on to the next thing. Okay, sorry. It's just you. You're the comment and I'm fine. It's me. It takes me too long. I'm envious that y'all can get over it so quickly. I wonder if it's a dude thing or just a personality thing. It's probably a mixture of both. I just feel like the show must go on. Like, we can't afford to be mad at each other. Well, I'm not saying mad, but I mean, I'm just thinking about it all day long. Bobby hasn't thought. Bobby's thought about 500 other things since then and I'm like, I can't believe that that happened. I can't believe that that happened. And it just consumes my thoughts. So I need to just brush it off. Well, Brittany, there you have it. You opened up a little can of worms this morning. I appreciate that. I know. I'm sorry. No, no, don't be sorry. And how do you feel about hearing that segment? Now what do you think about all of us?
Starting point is 00:39:26 I mean, I think that's pretty interesting. You definitely convey it through the show that you all are just best friends. So I was just dying to know, do you ever get tired of each other. And I think with anybody you're close to sometimes, because you're with them so much, there eventually becomes a point where you're like, oh. But only if it's exhausted within yourself. Never exhausted because of the other person. That's why I would say. All right.
Starting point is 00:39:51 Thank you, Brittany. Good call. All right. Jerry. Jerry. Jerry. Morgan number two, anything you want to say? No?
Starting point is 00:39:59 You just shake your head? No. No, no, never mind. All right. Walker Burroughs coming in next. I thought maybe you wanted to say to bash one of us here. No, I like everybody. There you go.
Starting point is 00:40:07 You want me to bash anybody? Nah, we're good. Do you have somebody in mind? No. Okay, Walker Burroughs. And next, he was on American Idol, finished in the top 10. He's on tour with Eddie and I. So good.
Starting point is 00:40:20 He's going to play a little song from Toy Story. He's going to play one of his own songs. And we'll talk about American Idol a little bit. And he'll give us some inside from what happens behind the scenes on that show. All right, that's next. The Bobby Bone Show is proud to be supported by. Starting point is 00:44:11 So Walker Burrows, our quick story together is, by the way, Walker plays with Eddie and I now on the Raging Idiots Tour. Yeah. But I met him on American Idol because you made it to number eight. And I thought you were far better. I picked you from the very beginning
Starting point is 00:44:25 because we met everybody, like hundreds of people. We sat down on the piece paper and they were like, who do you think is going to win? Me and cut some of the producers. You know who I picked? Walker Burroughs. But you went farther than anybody else that was picked in our little circle. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:44:38 Yeah. Made me a lot of money. I'm just kidding. I didn't back. Walker Burrow is from Birmingham, Alabama, which we just announced the show. We're going to play in Birmingham. Yeah. Tickets on sale this Friday. Oh, I'm so excited.
Starting point is 00:44:48 So Walker looks like kind of a Harry Potter. He's 20? Yes. Yeah, would you say it looks like Harry Potter? And he's always reading Harry Potter. We're flying or we're in a hotel. The kid walks around with the Harry Potter book all the time. Well, I started rereading the books when I was on Idol to kind of like get my mind away from things.
Starting point is 00:45:05 And I've actually just stuck through it. So now I'm on the seventh book. Like I'm almost done. Oh, you're being serious. No, I'm like super serious. No, I'm like almost done with it. And I have to remember that Walker's only 20 because he's so good. And we go to American Idol and which by the way, I'll say this.
Starting point is 00:45:20 American Idol is hunting for the next superstar. Play some sweet music under me, Walker. I say this. and you can hop in one of these cities this summer and audition for yourself. You can submit a video audition to it, American Idol.com. So, Macon, Georgia, Tallahassee, Florida, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Vegas, Knoxville, Colorado Springs, Wichita, Nashville, Nashville, Chicago.
Starting point is 00:45:43 Would you recommend people to do American Idol? I would recommend it, absolutely. Yeah, no, it's a crazy experience. It takes you way out of your comfort zone, but, like, there's really nothing but learning. that can come from it. So definitely worth it. When you got kicked off, were you sad? Oh, my gracious. Yeah, I mean, like, rejection just sucks anyways. Like, it was definitely sad.
Starting point is 00:46:04 Really, it was this release of, like, all this stress that I had had for the past, like, six months, you know, all in one moment whenever, as soon as I got cut. So what they do as soon as you get, as soon as you get cut, they take you to a therapist, like directly to a therapist, which is great. I didn't know that. Mental health. We love it. but um well how quickly like i walked off the stage and walked directly to a therapist wow no lie wow i guess they probably have to it's just to cover themselves too that they haven't done anything to
Starting point is 00:46:38 right sure and what's that conversation like with a therapist immediately well he was like how you feeling and i was like oh and i just started crying super hard um it was it was good it was just it was just a reflection moment, really nothing more than a safe place to kind of say all the things that you're feeling in that moment because you have to get it out because then they ask you to go down this press line directly after that. And it was so awkward. It's like every day for me. Yeah, it was tough. So you love doing American Idol though, huh? Yeah, yeah. No, it was a great, great experience. Well, so I met Walker, worked with him a little bit. He's so good. Did you plan to be like an artist? Are you going to be a teacher?
Starting point is 00:47:21 Oh, gracious. Well, I'm a music education major actually at Belmont University. Yeah. And that's kind of been the plan for a while. I was like I was a drum major when I was in high school. I got really into the whole peer leadership thing with like a musical setting. So I decided to go into that
Starting point is 00:47:37 in college and then kind of on a whim did Idol and now I'm like trying to figure out which path I want to go down. Do I want to go do a music life? And I, you know, I think I may be leaning that direction because it's really fun. But also I'm still very passionate about the idea of being a teacher. So I don't know yet.
Starting point is 00:47:52 Well, he's so good. I was watching Toy Story 2 a couple months ago, and I posted, man, this song on Toy Story 2 is so good. And I was like, I never even heard it before. And Walker hits me a DM and goes, dude, I played that on Idol. Oh. I just didn't know what it was. Brutal.
Starting point is 00:48:07 Yeah, so this song is called what? When She Loved Me. Do you know that song? When she? It's when Jesse is singing to her former owner who, like, abandoned her. Do you remember this scene? I'll see it. It's like Sarah McLaughlin.
Starting point is 00:48:19 Yeah. This is who sings it. It's a Randy Newman song. So this is Walker Burroughs performing the song from Toy Story 2. This is called When She Love Me. Hey guys, so because of licensing roles, we can't play anything with music on this Iheart radio channel or podcast anymore. But you can go to Bobbybones.com to see it. We hate that we had to take it down.
Starting point is 00:48:39 It wasn't our decision. But I just wanted to keep you up. And we wanted to keep up as much as possible. So go to BobbyBones.com to watch or hear whatever you're missing right now. And thank you for listen to the show. Sorry about all the legal stuff. Mr. Bobby, Bones. Look at that.

There was like an executive producer. around in Nashville that I got to come to. So I just drove, I'm from Birmingham, so I just drove up for that last summer, like a year ago. Makes the top 10. He's on tour with us right now. He has this song, Amy, it's his song. It's called Moon Song. Oh, I know it and I love it. Oh, you know this song? Yeah, my husband is obsessed with it. Wow, that's so kind. Yeah, thank you so much. You want to play a little bit of
Starting point is 00:49:39 Moon song for us? Yeah, I'll play a little bit of it. Here's Walker Burroughs. Hey, guys, so because of licensing roles, we can't play anything with music on this IHart Radio channel or podcast anymore, but you can't go to Bobbybones.com to see it. Walker plays with us and we leave and he plays this and, you know, the whole show's got comedy and Walker's the heart of it. And we just continue plugging away. Our opening act is one of his best friends, too, who I met on Idol.

Carrie Underwood will return to sing the opening theme song during NBC's Sunday Night Football this year and Joan Jett is joining her. A sneak peek of the new theme song and video will air this Sunday.
Starting point is 00:51:25 Keith Urban said he's glad that his daughters aren't taking after him when it comes to school. My mom just sent me all my report cards from the first grade. I don't know why she kept them. I guess that's what you do. Of course you do. They were terrible. All my report cards were terrible. So our girls are doing much better, thank goodness.
Starting point is 00:51:43 Not following Dad in that way. Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line is adjusting to being a new job. dad. He shared a video on Instagram of his wife trying to wake him up with a piece of bacon to help her out with their new baby. I'm Morgan number two. That's your skinny. The Bobby Bombin' Boom Show. It's time for the good news. Oh, it's Bobby. Tell me something good. A school principal in North Carolina is working hard to collect books for students. His name is Glenn Cook, principal at Pleasant Ridge Elementary School in Gastonia. He has the goal of getting
Starting point is 00:52:14 enough books donated so he can give one to each of his 900 students on their birthday. Wow. Pretty good, huh? Love it. Cook has asked friends to clean out their bookcases, and local businesses have stepped up as well, collecting books to hand over to the school leader. He hasn't reached his goal yet, but he hopes to be there by the first day of school. That's fun. On your birthday, too, it's not just here's a book for everybody right now, but special day, and you also get a book. He said, quote, I want the kids to get excited about books, and I want them to see and be excited as well. That's pretty good. You're reading anything now?
Starting point is 00:52:47 No. I have a couple things. I have the problem of reading two books at once, sometimes three, and then I get the stories mixed up. So I'm reading accidental presidents about the people, it's a big, thick book. I'm reading it for like eight years probably, about people, the presidents that didn't win office,
Starting point is 00:53:03 they just got thrust into the job. There were eight of them. And I'm reading one, the courage to be disliked. Okay. How people that have new ideas are always disliked because people are scared of either the idea or that they're replacing an idea. that the other person already has.
Starting point is 00:53:19 I'm reading that too. Yeah. And so. I just got one in the mail of an author that I'm having on my podcast this week actually on Thursday. And so she sent me a copy because it's available for pre-order. And it's called How to Make Your Life Not Suck. And I've seen her speak a couple times.
Starting point is 00:53:33 She's a Christian speaker. And I'm excited to read that one. A lot of them have been doing audio lately, like audiobooks. But this one I want to actually like sit down with a cup of coffee, which I think you're doing, you're reading sitting down. I think that helps our brains. Oh, for sure. why I want to read instead of listen.
Starting point is 00:53:48 That's where words come from for me. I've got to, you have to find the time. Like, you, I love that you've encouraged us to just try to be intentional about it. Set a timer. 20 minutes, read. Easier to say than do. I know. But yes, I even, I struggle sometimes. Listen, that's the good news, all about books.
Starting point is 00:54:02 Thank you. That was Tell Me Something Good. Bonehead. This story comes us from Fairbanks, Alaska. Two men were arrested after they broke into a shop and stole $19,000 worth of goods. Only problem is one of them was out on bail And had an ankle monitor from the court And it put him right there at the crime seat
Starting point is 00:54:21 GPS B, B, B, B, B. Yeah, that'll get you, huh? I don't get you. I'm Munchbox. That's your Bonehead story of the day. All right, it's your buddy and my Mr. Bobby Bones. All right, time for easy trivia. We'll go around the room.
Starting point is 00:54:48 I'll ask super easy questions that everybody should know. All kids should know. So especially the show should know this stuff. Right, everybody? Yeah. Right. What you don't want to hear is this.
Starting point is 00:54:56 Oh, it's the worst. You just feel so not smart. It's so easy. There you go. That's what you want to hear. That's what you want to hear. Ready, Amy. Ready.
Starting point is 00:55:09 What is the chemical composition for water? H-2O. Easy. It's pretty easy, Amy. Thank you. Easy, easy, lim and squeezy. Lunchbox. In geometry, what has five sides?
Starting point is 00:55:25 This is always the worst. It's rubbing its face. Got it. Pentagon. Yeah. It's so easy. Eddie, what's the highest mountain on Earth? Hmm.
Starting point is 00:55:37 The first one that came to my mind was Everest, so let's just go with that. Nailing it, folks. Wow, wow, wow. Hey, Morgan number two. At what temperature does water freeze Fahrenheit? Morgan number two, at what temperature does water freeze Fahrenheit? Just say a number. Freeze Fahrenheit?
Starting point is 00:56:00 What do you think? What temperature is water freeze? Zero degrees. Oh, that would be cold. That would be Celsius. It freezes it 32 degrees Fahrenheit. You've been eliminated. That's how they make ice, Morgan number two.
Starting point is 00:56:16 Vicky. Amy, how many apostles did Jesus have? 12. Oh, Amy, so good. To be. So shocked over there. Lunchbox. To be or not to be, that is the question.
Starting point is 00:56:35 Was written by who? To be or not to be. That is the question. Yeah. Good. Mark Twain. Shakespeare. Eddie.
Starting point is 00:56:46 Come on, bone. You're still in this. Prunes are dried. What? Plums. Wow, wow. We got two folks still in the game here. The smart ones.
Starting point is 00:57:01 It's always you two. Amy and Eddie always there at the end. This page is officially done. All right, all right. This is now, it's just pretty easy. Amy. What? Oh, you're playing the game, maybe.
Starting point is 00:57:14 Relax. I'm asking you a question here. Okay, sorry. What he wants? I get tense. Here we go. What is the currency used in Japan? Yen.
Starting point is 00:57:22 Wow. She's good. She's good. I thought that makes it. It's just pretty easy. It's not really easy. It's not really easy. Pretty easy.
Starting point is 00:57:31 Eddie. Come on. Who painted the Mona Lisa? Oh. Everyone knows this. Go ahead. That was Leonardo da Vinci. She.
Starting point is 00:57:43 Yeah! Woo! Wow! Da Vinci Code! Amy. Yeah. What's the longest river in the world?
Starting point is 00:57:51 A Nile. Wow. I thought it was Amazon. Easy trivia. Eddie. Come on. What country is the leaning tower of Pisa located in?
Starting point is 00:58:04 Country? Mm-hmm. That's Italy. Amy, how many great lakes are there? Seven. Oh, boy. Eddie, you have to get this right to win. Oh, I do?
Starting point is 00:58:16 Yeah. It's homes. That's how you remember it. Huron, Ontario, 5, 5, 5. I get it. Yeah, I'm stupid. Eddie.
Starting point is 00:58:22 No, you're not stupid. Yes, I am. That was... For the win. Come on, bones. Earthquakes are measured by which scale. Magnitudes. The Richter scale.
Starting point is 00:58:35 We're not a sudden death. Buzz in your name with the answer. Buzz in your name. Here we go. For the easy championship. What material must be compressed in order to make diamonds? Amy. Cool.
Starting point is 00:58:48 That's right. There she goes, Cole. Superman does it. He smashes Cole. I remember that. He crushed her his hand and gave it to Lois. Amy. There she is.
Starting point is 00:58:59 Our easy champion. Wow, wow, wow. I'd like to thank all of my elementary school teachers. All right, American kids from Kenny Chatsney. Nice win. It is the Bobby Bones show. It's a Bobby Bones show. In the next segment, our producer,
Starting point is 00:59:14 Ramundo, has found something on the internet he wants to share with someone on the show, and it's bad news for somebody, Ramundo. Yeah, it's a level three alert, man. Level three alert for someone on the show. What that means, you guys will have to hang out until the next segment to find out. Brace yourselves, folks. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:59:30 Somebody on the show is about to get a level three alert from Ray Mundo. All right, Mundo, thank you. Ray Mundo is going to drop some knowledge on someone on the show because looming bad news, right? Yeah, so I was looking online just messing around, and there's a travel alert for Haiti, Amy. and you had said you're going pretty soon in the next whatever month, a couple weeks, and it just got issued. So what does it say about it exactly? Whoa, it's pretty serious stuff.
Starting point is 00:59:58 They said tire burning, whatever that means, but they also set up roadblocks, these gangs do. And once they do that, then they come in and rob you. And they also said once you're going from the airport, if you have a bunch of bags, if you have a purse, you're a person of interest. They go right after those type of people, especially Americans. So Amy's story with Haiti is she adopted both her children from an orphanage there,
Starting point is 01:00:17 and she's going back pretty soon. And Ramondo pulled me aside and was like, hey, they just put out a big warning. Like, don't go to Haiti right now. Yeah. But you're going. Well, I mean, I get those warnings from the government, too. And I feel like I used to get on back in the day when I was having to go for the kids,
Starting point is 01:00:32 but we had to go. So we would end up going. But lately, I've had three different trips to Haiti plan this year. Three. Yeah, there's a reason they keep getting canceled. Right. And I've canceled them all. But now I can't.
Starting point is 01:00:45 This is just getting frustrating. And I know other people that have gone and come back just. fine. So I feel like we're just going to go. And because of the road issues, we're taking a helicopter. So in recent weeks, there have been protests, tire burning, roadblocks, violent crimes such as armed robbery have occurred multiple times in the past few days. If you become injured, ambulance service is non-existent. Americans are targeted, followed, and violently attacked after leaving the airport. Yes. It's the most popular time you're going to get taken is from the airport. avoid visiting banks and ATMs, driving at night,
Starting point is 01:01:21 traveling anywhere between 1 and 5 a.m., getting in cars, they don't have a proper taxi sign, walking in public with an iPhone. It just sounds like you shouldn't be there. I get all of those things. And we have Charlo, he's like this big old guy. You would be so scared of him. He's amazing.
Starting point is 01:01:38 What do you do there without your kids? Oh, well, we're going to visit some maternity centers and a school, like stuff that we support through a spa. And like, I need to go check on it. Visit the orphan. check out the bakery, which our listeners help build. Like there's a lot of things that we have going on down there and we just handle over email and talking,
Starting point is 01:01:55 and I want to go. I physically want to go. I just read you what just came out. You do what you do, but that's all. I know. That was a long list of warnings. Yeah. I know.
Starting point is 01:02:09 I know. There had the tire burnings that has to do with the protests. You're going to reconsider? I don't know. I mean, I definitely. Anytime I see a warning, I'm like, okay, is it really worth it? Should we go? Yeah, you're right. I need to consider that. I think if it were for your kids, it'd be different. I know that's why we always ended up going and why I haven't gone now is because I am going for more of like stuff we can handle. Well, now you're just getting irritated because you haven't been able to go and you're letting that influence you going again.
Starting point is 01:02:35 Because I miss it. I have Haitian friends there. I have people I want to see. Haiti has my kids' home country. Like, has part of my heart too. Okay, Cardi B. No, I didn't say okr. I said, like, just my frustrated, ugh. Thank you, Raymundo. Yeah, I got you, Amy. Thank you. I appreciate the concern.

Starting point is 01:06:27 That's AMU. APUS. Dot E-D-U-S-Military. Here's Amy's pile of stories. Okay, so if you ever notice, like, the little green army men, there's not little green army girls? I never thought about that.
Starting point is 01:06:47 You're absolutely right. I used to play with army men. No, there were never any army men. Any Army women in there? Yeah. Well, guess who noticed it? A six-year-old little girl in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her name is Vivian, and she's doing something about it.
Starting point is 01:06:58 She's written letters to three different companies that make these Little Green Army men, and some of them have responded that they are going to research the possibility of making a line of Little Green Army women. They should just toss them in. Yeah. Mix them in. More so than making a whole new line. Just for now on, moving forward, we see what you're saying. We have failed to be sensitive to what's happening.
Starting point is 01:07:19 in today's climate, not only culturally, but in the real army. There are women getting in the army. So they should just sprinkle them in. I never noticed that. Never thought about it. I'm also not six. I also don't play with Army men's stuff. I was like, thanks.
Starting point is 01:07:34 Right. I'm surprised they still make them. Right. Oh, kids still love them today. Really? Oh, yeah. All right, what else you got? So having kids definitely makes you happier once they've moved out.
Starting point is 01:07:45 That's funny, Amy. I know. All the study was done. They were like, yeah. Yeah, it's true. If you have kids, it'll make you happier, but you'll be at your happiest once you've done your job, you've raised them, and they have moved out to become adults. And I feel like we're working towards that all the time with our kids. I feel like I say that to my kids all the time. Listen, I'm not trying to get on to you just for the fun of it.
Starting point is 01:08:07 You think it's fun for me to have to harp on you to do your homework or teach you respect or say yes, ma'am, or learn how to earn money? No, I'm trying to raise you up. So when you're 18, you can survive in this world on your own without me. me. I bet you not a lot of kids are surviving at 18 on their own. I bet that's less than 10%. Okay, own-ish. On your own-ish. 21. When you hit adult, right? I make it a point, but I'm saying I think you're right about that. I just mean you, okay, but you... Who here at 18 was completely independent of every part of money from family, no house, didn't go back and live with the house, did never do anything again from 18 on? Oh no. I was like 25. When did you, when did you
Starting point is 01:08:47 lose? Yeah, when did you hop back in? I still lived with my mom even after I got married. Lunchbox? Oh, 25. Eddie? I mean, I still drive my dad's car. Like, my dad's Tahoe.
Starting point is 01:08:59 We drive it still. Morgan number two? It's 22. Yeah, that's pretty good. I was 17. Yeah. It's forced into it, though. Right.
Starting point is 01:09:09 But yeah, I would like that. Different circumstance. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But see, that's what I'm saying. My point is 18's that number, but most people aren't adults at 18. Yeah. If by 25, Amy, putting your standards,
Starting point is 01:09:19 Your kids would be good to go. Right. But, yeah. My kids might have to, I don't know, I might have to bump it up to 30. We're a little behind. All right, what else you got? Okay, so I've got five celebrities who were once homeless. Joel.
Starting point is 01:09:36 Good one. Oh, let's see if you can guess them all. Okay. Jewel. Is she on there? Yeah. Okay. She lived on the streets after her boss fired her because she wouldn't sleep with them.
Starting point is 01:09:46 What? I didn't know that. I just thought she lived in her car. Uh, she might have. That's still the streets. I know. Yeah. But I didn't know why. I didn't know it was because she had a job.
Starting point is 01:09:55 And then she's like, I'm not going to sleep with you. So then she. Jim Carrey. Ooh. He was, but ding, he didn't make the list. I'm giving me a ding anyway. J.K. Rowling. Harry Potter.
Starting point is 01:10:06 Wow. Okay. Yes. Ding, ding, ding. Is she on the list? She's on the top five. What? Harry Potter right is on the top five?
Starting point is 01:10:13 I mean homeless? Homeless. Leslie. Nice. Shout out. R. R. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:19 Who else? Okay, Steve Harvey. He lived in his car for three years in the 80s, and he would wash up in hotel bathrooms, gas stations, or swimming pool showers. Three years? Mm-hmm. What else? Jennifer Lopez, did you know that?
Starting point is 01:10:34 Me neither. She left home when she had an argument with her mom over becoming a dancer. She started sleeping on the sofa at her dance studio, but she was homeless. Chris Pratt. You got two more. I give myself a ding anyway. Because he lived in a van for a while. This one, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:10:51 Go ahead. When Dr. Phil was 12, he was homeless and living in a car in Kansas with his dad. Okay, I used to live in a camper, but I'm not claiming I was homeless. Right. But, yeah, I don't know. His dad was like interning as a psychologist or something, so they lived in the car. And then Hallie Berry, when she first moved to New York to become an actress at 21, she totally ran out of money.
Starting point is 01:11:11 Her mother cut her off, so she stayed at a homeless shelter during that time. Wow. Yeah. I did not know that. that either. There you go. Is that all your pile stories? Yes, I'm Amy. That's my pile. Okay. Coming up, Grace Potter's going to be here.
Starting point is 01:11:29 You may know her also from this song here with Kenny Chesney. You and tequila make me crazy. She's going to play a little later on in the show, so hang out for that. That's Amy's pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. Come on up.
Starting point is 01:11:45 Tell me something good. Amy has a story about a waiter? Yep, he took five minutes to do something. And this thing ended up going viral. Interesting. All it took was five minutes. Did he write Old Town Road? No.
Starting point is 01:11:58 All right, we'll find out what that is. Coming up next. Tell me something good. Next on the Bobby Bones show. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So this guy's a waiter at a restaurant,
Starting point is 01:12:12 and there was this 91-year-old man there eating. He happened to be a World War II veteran. And he admitted to Dylan, the guy serving him, like, hey, I just, I just really don't have a lot of people to talk to. I haven't had a conversation with somebody in a long time. So, I mean, he's busy serving the restaurant, but he sits down to have a conversation with this 91-year-old man.
Starting point is 01:12:33 And as they're talking, like tears, start rolling down the old man's face because he was just so grateful that someone took the time to listen to some of his stories. Because he hadn't had that. And someone else that was eating at the restaurant, captured all of this that went down, shared it on Facebook, and the post has gone viral because, you know, everyone's just saying, look, you can give someone five minutes, of your day and it can change their life.
Starting point is 01:12:55 Yeah, that's awesome. I know. That right there is what it's all about. Mm-hmm. That was Tell Me Something Good. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bones. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:13:06 Transmitage. This is. Right, over to Amy for the morning corny. Here we go. A morning corny. So what's a cow that doesn't produce milk? What's a cow that doesn't produce milk? I mean, is it a milk dud or an utter fill?
Starting point is 01:13:30 How do we feel about that one? I mean, it's okay. There's two singers in there. No, it's like you get two for. Double the singer? Two for one. All right, all right. We'll give you that.
Starting point is 01:13:43 There she is. That was the morning corny. Well, well, well, over to Morgan number two. Who's going to hit us with some food world. Let's go. It's time for Food World. Num, Num, Num, Num, with Morgan number two. So there's a name for people who look at the restaurant menu online before they go to a restaurant.
Starting point is 01:14:05 Is that name Bobby? Because that's what I do. Yeah, me too. I like to go and be armed with the knowledge. Because if you go with people and you're having that talk and being a waiter before, you go three times. Like, are you guys ready? Nah, not yet. Give us a minute. You go back again? You ready yet? Nah, not yet.
Starting point is 01:14:21 Then as a waiter, you don't want to go back and interrupt them again. So it just throws the whole thing off. So I am whatever she says it's called. It's a menu peeper. Sounds a little creepy. I'll be honest with that. Not the term that I would have chosen. I'm not going to be rolling as a peeper in general.
Starting point is 01:14:38 But, okay, so it's a menu peeper. Yeah. And the internet kind of has an issue with this. This girl wrote an editorial and basically roasted her boyfriend for being a menu peeper. Wait, that's a bad thing? Apparently. What? I think it's awesome.
Starting point is 01:14:51 Price? You can see what fits in the budget. You can go and know. So you can have all the pre-conversation. that you want, and you can get in and out, which is my favorite thing to do a dinner. No. Go in, sit down, order your food, get your check when the food comes, get out of Dodge. Okay.
Starting point is 01:15:07 That's how to have a great dinner. No. I like it because you get excited about what you're going to have and you can, like, talk about it. I don't like that. What? I don't like people asking me either. Oh, I don't like people asking me either because I'll judge. I love doing that.
Starting point is 01:15:20 I always have to order last because I want to see what everybody else is going to get. Well, that's why we don't have dinner anymore. It's true. Well, I mean, just you and me. It's not that hard. Plus, I know you're trying to get in and out, so I'm not making some bull talk. Not just in and out, but there are times for walking. Whatever, you pay the bill before we even take our first bite. That way you have the freedom to do whatever you want. You can leave when you want. Right. You can stay as long as you want. You already give a pretty good tip.
Starting point is 01:15:45 And then they do really great, extra good service. There are many benefits that you guys aren't really weighing in. Letting away on you with this. All right. Morgan, number two, anything else you want to say about this? Nope. I'm a menu peeper, too, though. So I'm here for it. I'm going to call it a menu looker. Right? All right, Morgan number two, thank you.
Starting point is 01:16:05 There you go. That's Food World. That was Food World with Morgan number two. Num, num, num, num, num. Num, num, num. Hit us up if you want. Our phone number is 877, 77 Bobby. As I look ahead, I'm doing jokes tonight at ACM honors, and I'd like to pitch a few to you.
Starting point is 01:16:24 You tell me what I should use. Okay. Most of the time, I just go and, okay, these are the jokes? Put them in the prompter. I've never used the jokes before, so like 70% of them will be funny. So what I'll do is I'll just read you some and you tell me which one I should use tonight. I don't care.
Starting point is 01:16:39 Oh, okay. Yeah, it'd be fun. So we'll do that coming up. Some of the subjects of the jokes, and not jokes about them, but they're included in the jokes are Miranda Lambert, Yodel Boy, Chris Stapleton. So I'm not making jokes about them. in a bad way, but they're in the jokes because
Starting point is 01:16:57 they're there. They're part of it. Thank you. So, yeah, we'll do that coming up in a second, too. Also, some bad news on my dog. Oh. You okay? Yeah. Let me just say I'm queuing up the Sarah McLaughlin sad puppy music.
Starting point is 01:17:12 Oh, no. Hi, for just 19 cents a day, it can help me with my dog. But I'll tell you that story coming up to. All right, we'll be back in a second. I go home yesterday and I let my dog get out of his room. And I look in his eye and he's got like a, they call it cherry on his eye. It's like, these dogs have like two eyelids in each eye.
Starting point is 01:17:45 And his bottom eyelid is swollen up. It's on my Instagram story if you want to see it. I'm Mr. Bobby Bones. But it's really the first medical issue of how my dog. And so it's common for bulldogs to get? Common-ish. Common-ish. Yeah, so I got to take him to the vet today.
Starting point is 01:18:00 And it's mostly a surgery thing. What? Mostly. I'll know more today. but the vet is expensive so what I'm asking is for 92 cents from each listener you too
Starting point is 01:18:13 can pay for my dog to go to the vet you know he's sad he only has one eye don't you want to help him don't you want to help me 877 77 Bobby to get my binmo
Starting point is 01:18:27 and send me 97 cents this doesn't feel right I feel like I should have like jack in the box right now and like two beer cans because that's one of the morning. So yeah, I'm not sure what's going to happen. I have to, because I'm leaving town for a little
Starting point is 01:18:42 bit next week, and so I'm going to send him to this trainer for a few days. And I still think that's okay. He still is super energetic and at times annoying with all the chewing and wanted to play. He's a three and a half month old puppy. So, but yeah, you can pull up my Instagram story during the song. It's crazy. And I didn't, I didn't know you'd have to go get it removed somehow. Like, I thought it would just go down. What did he do? Like, it just happens. he didn't like hit his head or? Not that I saw. Okay.
Starting point is 01:19:10 So as far as I know it just happens, I have a vet appointment today at like 1130. And I'm going to go in. They already know me by name. It's a new vet. It's like cheers though. Bobby, you're with your dog. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:20 Oh, the vet bills begin. The vet bills begin. So, yeah, that happens. You know, with him, he's been expensive this past week or so because he jumped into, well, fell into the pool and had to jump in and save him. My phone was in my pocket. And so I don't care what.
Starting point is 01:19:36 say, and I'm holding it up here if you're watching the stream, this is not waterproof. It's water-proofish. It will not charge. You can't plug in and get a charge. So I had to go buy one of those that you lay it on and do the charging with the phone on the back. It charges like 20% what a charger in the belly of it does. And so I have to get a new phone. And I think insurance will cover it, but you still got to pay a few hundred bucks.
Starting point is 01:20:00 So for the low price of $1.19, you too can hop in him. me pay for my new iPhone. You got me. I'm pulling my wallet out already. Thank you very much. Don't you just want to feel good? Aren't there iPhones everywhere that need your help? They are.
Starting point is 01:20:15 So I got to do that. I'm going to go broke over here. Expensive dog. Yeah. Just the beginning. I know. And I got a lot of bulldog people that are messaging me like we told you. Hope you're up for it because it's going to be your whole life.
Starting point is 01:20:30 So I do want to mention who won the TV draft yesterday because we drafted our top three TV theme songs? Amy's already smiling. No, I don't know who I honestly do. No, I know. I don't know. I haven't checked. In the biggest victory in the history of the highest score in history at 43%. Amy wins with the Golden Girls Full House and the Lady Bunch. Wow. Nice job. I am so surprised that I fell so hard. I finished last. I will not be going Thursday. Oh. I feel for you. It's nothing. Oh, I don't care. I think it'll be fun
Starting point is 01:21:03 commenting. Well, good attitude. Well, yeah. Okay. Without having. a dog in the fight. Yeah. I should say a dog in the race. Oh, yeah. Oh, I said dog in the race. I also, I don't do dog fighting or in any way condone dog fighting. But I've always said that saying because it was said to me as a kid.
Starting point is 01:21:18 Yeah, it's a same. I don't have a dog in the race. So I'll be sitting out. I don't have the theme yet. But since I also pick the themes, I think Thursday will do favorite numbers. You're right. Oh, great. Favorite equations.
Starting point is 01:21:33 Wow. Give me your favorite equations, folks. And the first pick will be Eddie. You're awesome. Eddie, what's your equation? Pie, dude. Yeah, yeah, 3.14. What is it?
Starting point is 01:21:42 That is the favorite. No, it equals MC Square. That is, we'll figure out Thursdays. I'll figure it at some point today. Grace Potter comes into play later. I'm so excited. You may know Grace Potter from a couple of these songs. Maybe you know, a couple with Kenny Chesney.
Starting point is 01:21:59 So here's this one here. This is so my jam. I love this song so much. I like poison in my blood One more night could kill me, Bendy I can just listen to the song all day So good
Starting point is 01:22:18 Like one of my favorite country songs Of the past 15 years easily Yeah You're gonna sing this with her? I don't think she's gonna play this I'm gonna play one of her songs Okay
Starting point is 01:22:26 And then you may know her from Wild Child With Kenny Chesney She's a Wild Child My favorite Grace Potter song is Probably stars Which is the jam too. I can't look at the
Starting point is 01:22:45 So good So good I had a lot of friends hit me up yesterday Like I can't believe Grace Potter's playing Your show And I was like I can't either
Starting point is 01:22:52 So that'll be In like an hour Or so Grace Potter will be in I'll pitch you some jokes That I'm gonna possibly do Tonight After this song Okay I'm ready
Starting point is 01:23:02 So You'll just say if you like it or not Yeah It's kind of the same joke With like four or five different endings You'll pick the one that I do Oh okay Okay
Starting point is 01:23:10 Tonight I'm pretty I'm presenting some awards at the ACM honors. It's really the industry version of the ACM awards. So musicians, promoters who put concerts together, real inside stuff. But a lot of artists come out and they play, like Miranda Lambert's going to play tonight. Keith Irvin's going to play tonight. So for me, it's really one of my favorite shows because they recognize a lot of the people that are behind the scenes of what ends up being the big scene.
Starting point is 01:23:36 Yeah. Make sense? Yeah. So they're like, hey, do some of that joke stuff you do. Tell some jokes. And it's a compliment that people think I can just throw jokes and just go. out and nail them, right? But this is really not how it works. You have to sit and kind of craft it out and go, I don't know about this one. And sometimes you go out and they bomb because you've
Starting point is 01:23:51 never been able to practice them before. Like when I do my stand-up, I've practiced these jokes in front of a lot of crowds, and I know what works and what doesn't. And I'll throw a couple new ones in. If it doesn't work, I'll go to a power joke after that. Here, it's all new. So I want to give you, one, two, three, four options of one joke. Okay. And you tell me which one that I should use. Granted, some of these aren't as strong as others. So don't judge me and be like, That's terrible. No, it's fine. You know, sometimes your judgment eyes hit me.
Starting point is 01:24:19 No. All right, here we go. Here we go. Okay, go. So I'm walking up. We're the rhyming on a coroner. Yeah, got the visual. Got the visual.
Starting point is 01:24:25 Got the visual. Got the video. Got the video. Thank you guys. Wow, pretty cool being here at the 13th annual ACM honors. If this award show gets any older, Leonardo DiCaprio will no longer date it. Don't do that.
Starting point is 01:24:37 Don't do that because it can't be a cheesy, but it's got to be out of. Why? Because it's not, that it shouldn't be like, Zany waka waka waka. Oh, sorry. I thought that was fitting. Waka, Waka, Waka.
Starting point is 01:24:49 Yes, Fosci bear. Waka, Waka, Waka, Waka. You just tell me if you like it. I like it. So again, that joke is, let me do it again. If this award show gets in the older, Leo DiCaprio will no longer date it. Would you laugh at that?
Starting point is 01:25:02 Yes. Or does it take too long to think about? No, I'd laugh at it. But I would say Leonardo. Not Leo. Well, I said Leonardo. I just didn't feel like saying all than Leonardo. Okay.
Starting point is 01:25:10 But now I just redid it all because... Got it. All right. Next one. Pretty cool being here at the 13th annual ACM honors. So, now 13 years old, this show has hit puberty before Mason Ramsey did. I like the Leonardo DiCaprio and better. What?
Starting point is 01:25:27 The guys laughed at that one. Yeah, it's a good. Raymond is solid. That one's good, but you got to know your demo. There's some older people there that aren't going to like that one. A lot of women in the audience. What do you mean? It's not offensive.
Starting point is 01:25:37 What if a kid's there? It's awkward. Mason Ramsey's probably there. He's 12, and he's 12. And he will be there. Are you going to say, Mason? Mason Ramsey Yodel Boy? It's industry.
Starting point is 01:25:48 Oh, good point. I know it's industry, but still. People will know who Mason Ramsey is, in the jury. We would refer to him as Yodel Boy. Right. But I think he's also at the show that night. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 01:25:58 Respect. Hold on. All right. 13th annual ASEM honors. 13's a big number. It's more than the number of adult teeth Mason Ramsey has. Okay. I'm not feeling the Mason Ramsey jokes.
Starting point is 01:26:11 Yes. Solid. Guys? Yeah, dude, those are great. Better than the Leonardo to California? No, not better. Well, y'all were choosing the best one. You're acting like that one was hilarious.
Starting point is 01:26:21 No, they're just saying it's good. They didn't vote. Now, we're not voting. How are you so offended? They didn't pick your joke. Okay, sorry, keep going. This is not a draft. Sorry, I take my jokes seriously, and I like the first one.
Starting point is 01:26:30 Okay. The 13th annual ACM honors. 13 years, that's a long time. That's older than Mason Ramsey, and I believe it was 13 years ago that Chris Tableton last used a razor. Oh. Oh, that's a double. I like the double.
Starting point is 01:26:45 Yeah. Which one of those would you lead with? Puberty. But I wouldn't do the Chris Stableton one like this. Hey, 13th annual ACM honors, a 13 years of a long time. That's older than Mason Ramsey. And I also believe it was 13 years ago that Chris Stapleton last used a razor. You'd sit on that.
Starting point is 01:27:07 13 years ago and they're like, oh, what's he going to say? That's what you're going to say. And you've got to play to your crowd. I know. And I like that Mason. Chris will be there. So, like, Leonardo DiCaprio... I'm not sure if Chris is going to be there.
Starting point is 01:27:18 Oh, sorry. Well, he's... People obviously know who he is. Leonardo DiCaprio, everybody knows, but he's not in our... I kind of wish, like, we had someone in the country music community that was known for dating young hot models.
Starting point is 01:27:31 Hot models. On yachts. There was a joke that I was gonna put in that I eliminated. Uh-oh. It was, um... Mike, do you have written down over there? You can read it as me...
Starting point is 01:27:41 I want to say it exactly right, and I have it written down. So it's kind of that. Okay. It's like pretty cool being here the 13th annual ACM Awards No, that's the Miranda Lambert one right? It's like Miranda, I'm going to have Mike D read it
Starting point is 01:27:54 because I'll butcher it. I said I'm all these to print. Read the one that I was going to do. I'm not going to do this one by the way, okay? All right, Mike, do it as me? All right, Miranda Lambert, I'm sorry I couldn't make it to your wedding. I wish I would have known about it.
Starting point is 01:28:07 Well, hold on. Is that the one? That's not it. That's not it? No, it's the country stars one. Which one? Miranda Lambert's won more ACMs than I've. updated female country stars. And that's a lot of time. That's funny.
Starting point is 01:28:17 It was that one. Yeah. Hmm. That's, I mean. I mean, I could do 13th annual ACM honors, 13, but whatever. Pick one of those jokes. I'm not writing a joke here right now.
Starting point is 01:28:30 I'm not doing my process, but go ahead. Pick one, Amy. I pick Leonardo DiCaprio. Guys. Puberty one. Mason Ramsey. It was a little risky, dude. I'm going to do the Chris Ableton.
Starting point is 01:28:42 because the jokes really about Chris Ableton there. 13 years is a long time. That's older than Mason Ramsey, which is true. And I believe it was 13 years ago that Chris Stapleton last year's a razor. That's the one. You get them both. It's funny. And you don't mess with puberty.
Starting point is 01:28:58 And some people may not get the DiCaprio joke. Right. That's the whole bummer. Man, if you were like presenting to like an award and people are there for the Titanic, it'd be perfect. Like if it was the Oscars, Amy? Yeah. One day. So that's what I was doing this morning
Starting point is 01:29:14 As I was weighing all these out like What should I do? And I have a bunch of them that I had to do this with So imagine me last night saying him out loud in front of the mirror That suck. You're an idiot You're not funny You heckle yourself Yeah I'm like, get off the stage loser Throwing tomatoes at the mirror
Starting point is 01:29:27 And then I'm like I'm not on stage, I'm in the bathroom Love yourself All right, thank you for that Amy I didn't pick your joke I know it's fine The other one you picked I would pick second I agree with that one It's the right one to do for the event
Starting point is 01:29:40 But the Leonardo recovery on really good. If you're there, please laugh. Yeah, here is the one. Miranda Lambert's here. She's the all-time most awarded artist in ACM history. She's directed more awards than I've dated female country singers. That's a lie. I'm not doing that one, but it was one. Slamming yourself is always good. Yes, I like to slam myself, and that's not even really that true. What have I did? Two. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Publicly. Maybe three. Stop it. Okay. Four or four. Here, we'll come back. Hit that.

Starting point is 01:34:17 We don't even really, what's this, do we have that song? I don't even know what that is, Hot Girl Summer. But everybody puts it on their Instagram. Everybody. Whatever. Some other ones too. But you can vote now on MTV's Instagram story for Best Power Anthem. Tune to the VMAs on Monday, August 26 at 8-7 Central.

Starting point is 01:34:47 Oh, that's a jam. Hey. A power anthem's all girls? No, it doesn't have to be. No. Why, would yours be a girl? For sure. What's yours, Eddie?
Starting point is 01:34:59 What's that fight song. Oh, that's a good. Rachel Platton? Yeah. All us boys at the house, me and my kids. kids, we just sing this at the top of our lungs. Lunchbox, Power Antel? Oh, Toby Keith. How do you like me now?

Starting point is 01:35:44 That's why I was so, I was so in love with our listeners when they voted on Dancing with Stars. I was like, who votes for anything anymore? So that's why I'm just, I was already so indebted to them. And I was like, I cannot believe. Not that people wouldn't watch, because I thought it would be pretty entertaining to watch. But I was going, man, I really appreciate our listeners. Yeah. Because they would pick up their phones or get on their computer and vote.
Starting point is 01:36:06 It's a huge effort. It's a huge effort. I'm still so appreciative. When someone comes to me and goes, I voted for you on Dancing with the Stars. I go, thank you. Like, holy cow, you did. I'm blown away that people vote for stuff still.
Starting point is 01:36:18 Yeah, that's how I feel with a draft when they vote for me when I win. How very often? Oh, on our morning showtime? When Taylor Hicks won American Idol, I voted for that. Yeah, you did. Oh, yeah, you did. You're obsessed.
Starting point is 01:36:29 I loved that, dude. I don't know what's up with him now. He's a lie, right? He still makes music because they were doing a college football preview on ESPN, and they were using Taylor Hicks's song. Well, that's cool. Good for him. I haven't seen him.
Starting point is 01:36:42 I remember he wore white shoes and he bought white shoes. Dang right. He was the older dude, right? He just looked older because he had gray hair. Oh, that's right. That's right. Grace Potter in about 30 minutes. It's going to be awesome.
Starting point is 01:36:57 You may know Grace Potter from maybe this song here. You and Tequila with Kenny Chesney. You have Tequila make me crazy. Starting point is 01:37:31 Larry King's eighth marriage is coming to an end. How about this guy? I married eight times. Ballin out of control. What? Larry King has filed for divorce. from his wife, Sean Southwick. They've been married since 1997. It's a good run, though. So he had seven before 1997? What?
Starting point is 01:37:50 This was his eighth marriage. He married one woman twice in the 60s. Oh, okay. No, not okay. That's still seven different. Seven marriages, but six women? And what do you mean twice? I think he divorced her?
Starting point is 01:38:03 Divorced her? No. Oh, well. Thought it'd work again. It seemed like this one was going to last. Again, 1997 to today. But unfortunately, Larry King's eighth marriage is a bus. How old is Larry King, huh?
Starting point is 01:38:14 85. Look at this guy. Rocking it. Wow. He was married for like a year, a year, two years, four years, five years. Wow. And then this lady was a long time. Keanu Reeves is going to do the Matrix 4, alongside original co-star carrying in Moss.
Starting point is 01:38:33 I love The Matrix. I was thinking back. Love Matrix 1. I thought it was one of the best movies I've ever seen. I don't know if I was, I had to see Matrix 4. 2. One of them is reloaded. I had to see Matrix 2. And then there's a Matrix 3.
Starting point is 01:38:47 And I think Keanu is carrying a lot of these reboots himself. Like, they're doing these movies because Keanu has blown up into a massive, massive star again. Right. Mike D, have you seen Matrix? You had to see... Mike D's a geek. Yeah. Like me. But more so, right? Two after it were kind of forgettable.
Starting point is 01:39:04 They are. Yeah. So why would they bring back four? I think he's doing so well right now with John Wick that they want to reboot it. Bill and Ted's coming back with Kiano. Oh. Yay, Superstar again.
Starting point is 01:39:14 Yeah, he's on fire. I mean, he's kind of thing. Do you think sometimes he's at home and he's like, what's happening? Because, like, I've never seen more people
Starting point is 01:39:20 post about him on Instagram or refer to him as all these different things or hashtag. I don't think he's on Instagram. He's not on social media. So, like, he doesn't even know how much
Starting point is 01:39:30 he's out there. I saw an interview once where someone's like, hey, you're the internet's new boyfriend. You're, everybody's favorite. It's like, huh?
Starting point is 01:39:36 Right. Really? I had no idea. This is amazing. I love Keanu Reeves. Before Keanu Mania hit, I was telling you guys, he's America's most beloved actor.
Starting point is 01:39:46 You were, and I was like, what are you talking about? A little bit. I know, I was a hater. You want to hear this story? A mom to be,
Starting point is 01:39:57 she's not a mom yet, but she's having a shower party because she's about to be a mom. Baby shower? She's handing out wristbands to people who bring gifts and only they get to eat at the party.
Starting point is 01:40:06 Is that a joke? No. That's funny. A mom to be decided she was going to hand out wristbands to her. shower guests that bring gifts and only those who have a wristband on can eat the food. What do you think about that?
Starting point is 01:40:18 I mean, I would not do it. And I would, if I went to a shower and that happened to me, I would think it was a joke. There's no way that's real. But you would also take a gift and then you would eat. Right. But what if you're like, I ordered online? It's being shipped to you. A lot of people do that for gifts now.
Starting point is 01:40:33 That's true, too. She might want to see the proof. I'm okay with people doing whatever they want at their parties. Right, but why do that? Are her hormones out of control? I wouldn't do that. I wouldn't do that. I wouldn't do that.
Starting point is 01:40:44 It's not something that a sane person would do. Right. But I'm not here to judge people's sanity. Are there friends that are hosting this or baby daddy that can tell her this is ridiculous? I'm shocked these people have friends. Right? Right. I wouldn't even go to this party.
Starting point is 01:41:00 Yeah, but you don't know until you get there. I'm so anti this culture of being angry at people on social media. Just go away. But people are slamming her on social media. Just go away from it. your life is easier if you just turn it just get off that page just move on to the next thing but anyway I saw that thought I wanted to share that with you thank you guys it's time for the good news with lunchbox stay home it's something good these two cruise workers are called heroes donovan and hamilton are working on a cruise ship
Starting point is 01:41:28 you know everybody's debboarding and there's a girl in a wheelchair and she gets off and she wants to get close to the water only problem is she wheels too far and her wheelchair goes over the edge off the dock into the water. These two workers jump in and save her from drowning. Wow. That's pretty awesome. That is what it's all about right there. That was Tell Me Something Good. Folks, it's your buddy and mine.
Starting point is 01:41:50 Mr. Bobby Bones. I watched Mine Hunter before I went to bed last night. Terrible decision. And nightmares all night last night. It's a true story by these people who study serial killers. Worst decision I made. I knew it too. I felt it. By 10 minutes into it, I was like, I should not be watching this. I can't watch anything that's remotely
Starting point is 01:42:18 scary. True or not before I go to sleep. And I wake up like four times thinking someone's breaking into my house. Yeah. That's a dark show. And true. And it's true. The worst part is when you're watching it, you're thinking, but then you're like, this really happened. This really happened. And one of the episodes, one of the guys said that he would stalk his people sometimes, he would hit up the same place or go out looking for his next victim for weeks. And he's like, I never knew when I was going to find her, I just would go out. And if I, then if I knew, if I saw her, I knew, and I'm thinking, ooh, there's just someone out there watching at all times. No. I know. They announced the cast of Dancing with the Stars for this next season.
Starting point is 01:42:59 And my friend that's doing it is Lauren Atlanta. I've been mentoring her a little bit, getting her ready. So it was announced this morning. It's a good cast, Hannah Brown from the Bachelorette, who I've been talking to a little bit too about it. So those were like my friend and my junior varsity friend. Right. That I've been kind of going, okay, here's what you need to do. Here's how to start. It's going to get crazy. Caramo Brown from Queer Eye, James Vanderbeak from Dawson's Creek. It's a fun one. Good one.
Starting point is 01:43:23 Christy Brinkley. Kate Flannery from the office. Ray Lewis, Lamar Odom. They got two ex-athletes. Allie Brooke. I don't know who that is. That's okay. I don't know who some people are.
Starting point is 01:43:36 Mary Wilson. I'm not sure who that is. Maybe from Hart. Is that Mary Wilson? No, it's Nancy. That's Nancy Wilson. Oh, yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:43:43 Oh, Ali Brooke was in Fifth Harmony. Okay. Oh, so she's got... San Antonio. And remember, this show is not about the best dancer. Well, she's probably... Telling them. None of these shows are about the best. The best never wins anything. It's a fan vote as part of it. That's people are like,
Starting point is 01:43:57 the best dancer should have went, no, or you just cancel it and cancel half these people anyway. Why would they even get on the show? Because some people know they can't dance. I couldn't dance. It's not the point of the show. The point is to watch someone grow and to see if America falls in love with them. Like at your job, the person who's the best to do their job isn't the boss. It's the person who has a combination of things. being likable, working hard, being good as well.
Starting point is 01:44:20 It's a whole, it's like life. Likeability is a big part of just life in general. So, anyway, that's the cast. That's the full list? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, nine, ten, eleven, twelve. Okay, so no gronk. What I said was, I was reading from an article. Sorry, I know.
Starting point is 01:44:37 I knew gronk wasn't in it. Just Jared posted it, right? Yes. Yeah. So, yeah, that's the whole cast. It's a fantastic cast. I'll be going back for the premiere. Whoop?
Starting point is 01:44:47 Maybe I'll do a little dance myself. Yeah, do you? God, no. Are you sure? Yes. You're not part of like the opening number? Nope. Okay.
Starting point is 01:44:54 I hope not. Shit. By the way, Mary Wilson is a Supreme. Oh. From Dancing with the Stars. Okay. Dary Wilson's Supreme. Most iconic movie moments.
Starting point is 01:45:05 You know, they did Rotten Tomatoes and Rotten Tomatoes is turning 21 years old. It's the site that I go to if I want to go. It's a movie any good because they give you two reviews. One from all the hoity toy toy toy. reviewers, but one from the people. Yeah. And you kind of look in the middle of that and see if it's good or not. So they pulled 25,000 people to find out the most iconic movie moments of the 21st century. Do you want to hear some of them?
Starting point is 01:45:27 Yeah. Hey, Ray, we'll just start at the top of the list. See, can you name this clip right here? Go ahead. I don't want to kill you. What would I do without you? Go back to ripping off mob dealers? No, no.
Starting point is 01:45:43 No. No, you. You complete. Me. You're garbage. You kills for money. Don't talk like one of them. What is that from? It's a Batman, but I think the Dark Night. The Dark Night.
Starting point is 01:45:55 Heath Ledger as the Joker is one of the biggest moments. Okay, here's another one. See if you can name this. You should have gone from... Can you name it by that? Gladiator? No, what if... Last 21 years, right? Oh, I don't know when that was.
Starting point is 01:46:15 What's that, that snap from? I don't know. Avengers. Oh, yeah. They know when he snaps. Okay, sorry. Mm-hmm. Okay, this one barely makes it on the time frame, but hit this one.
Starting point is 01:46:32 Sixth Sense. Mm-hmm. When he said, I see dead people. One of the most iconic movie moments in the past 21 years. For sure. Yeah. I guess that's the 21st century? Is that why they're doing, is that 21-21?
Starting point is 01:46:44 So it's any, okay, anything 2000 and above. Just the music from this movie, okay? It's such a good scene. And I was told forever to watch this movie, and I was like, Mm-Hog Wife. Then I watched it and I was like, oh, are you kidding me? It may be one of the best ever. What movie did you do this too?
Starting point is 01:47:13 The greatest showman? It's the beginning of Up with Carl and Ellie. Oh, Up, okay. When they're showing their whole life. Oh, wow, yeah, the slideshow. Play that again, Ramon, do you? How beautiful was that scene? That's awesome.
Starting point is 01:47:25 I thought that was La La Land for a second. Yeah, it could have been that too. That's same kind of style. I love La La La Land. So good, man. Not to spoil because I won't. But some people hated it because of the ending. I loved it because of the ending
Starting point is 01:47:39 That's not a spoiler Also the Avengers when they assemble In New York City is one of the biggest moments For the first Avengers When everybody came together And I remember watching it going Oh my goodness all these stars are coming together This is crazy
Starting point is 01:47:50 Avengers That's pretty cool Let me see The Notebook A Kiss in the Rain Moulon Rouge I didn't see Moulon Rouge Satin's entrance Furious Seven cars don't fly
Starting point is 01:48:08 Spider Man The Upside Down Kiss Remember that one? Oh, yeah. There was the big kiss. These are the biggest movie moments in the past of the 21st century. Which, by the way, Spider-Man is not a thing anymore. Mike, do you know about that?
Starting point is 01:48:22 Let's go to our geek minute with Mike D. What do you all mean? So Sony owns Spider-Man. I thought Marvel owned Spider-Man. No, they did like an agreement where Marvel could put out the movies, like through Disney, but now they're saying they don't want to share the profits anymore. So they're going to take away Spider-Man. What?
Starting point is 01:48:40 So Spider-Man can't be an Avenger? No. I thought at the end of the last Avengers, again, no spoiler here, they kind of set up Spider-Man to be one of the guys to take it forward. That's the problem. They have this whole setup for him to be a part of the new, like, Marvel timeline they're going with, and now they might take them away. And they've removed Spider-Man from the fold.
Starting point is 01:49:01 Yeah, I mean, they haven't totally decided it yet, but they're leaning towards pulling them. Have we reached out to Toby McGuire for comment? No. He's not Spider-Man anymore, though, huh? No. What's the guy's name? Andrew Garfield?
Starting point is 01:49:13 Is he Spider-Man? Oh, Tom Holland's right now. He was the little one. And a lot of them. All these dopey white dudes. Yeah. One after the other, I love it. You have a chance.
Starting point is 01:49:21 Right. Like, I'm basically Peter Parker. Yeah, I saw that they pulled Spider-Man. And the Matrix is coming back. I just didn't, I thought Spider-Man was part of the group. He was. But, like, really, I thought he was a Marvel, huh? Spider-Man's not Marvel.
Starting point is 01:49:37 It is Marvel, but there's two different. Okay. I'm out. That's Mike's geeky minute. Thank you, Mike. By the way, I say that in the most loving way. Mike's a geek for movies. I'm a geek for a lot of things too.
Starting point is 01:49:50 But Mike's going to start a movie podcast, which is going to be cool. And then that way we can go to that podcast to learn more about Spider-Man. Oh, boy. And we'll understand it. It'll learn it. It'll be three hours of Spider-Man. Well, clearly there's more. We don't understand.
Starting point is 01:50:02 Actually, it's a profit share. 19% goes to Marvel. 22.3% goes to Comic-Con. And the rest goes to all the people. I love it. Mike D. Love you, Mike D. That's right. That's right. Hey, we're coming back. Grace Potter is here. Here we go. Check this out. So she's going to come in a play. I'm very excited about this.

Starting point is 01:54:17 Do you want her on the show? I was like, please, and will she play? And selfishly, as we were testing out audio because sometimes what we do is we'll test it ourselves. And I was like, yeah, I'd rather hear her test it. Oh, no. little extra. You get a morning,
Starting point is 01:54:30 get a morning little sonata. And then I was, I was singing stars and I don't sing it. You mean hear me try to sing it? Yes.
Starting point is 01:54:36 You go for the note. Do it. Star! How do you do the note? How do you do it? In the early morning I go, Stars
Starting point is 01:54:44 instead of, star! You know, you don't want to go for those notes in the morning. Nobody wants to hear that. I've been to a bunch of your shows and I always come out
Starting point is 01:54:52 going, man, she's a rock star. Just straight up rock star. Thank you. And I wonder for you, for you, Where did it start? Like, how do you, what's the steps to be a rock star?
Starting point is 01:55:01 I don't, I don't know what happened, honestly. I'm from Vermont, which is a really small place. And I think because there's only like 600,000 people in the whole state, you can just claim to be anything. And everyone's like, okay. I mean, it's a very independent, you know, group of people who want to all be some version of a rock star. But there weren't that many bands out there to choose from.
Starting point is 01:55:26 I mean, we had fish. and then lots of local acts, but we just played and played until we started to sound like a rock band. So what was the open mic story with you? You were an open mic. Well, there's multiple open mic stories. Are you talking about the one where I guess?
Starting point is 01:55:40 The drummer? The drummer, the band's like, hey, I think you should play in our band with us. Yes, so, exactly. But he wasn't a drummer yet. He heard me play at an open mic and walked up to me and was like, I think we should start a band and I think I'll be your drummer
Starting point is 01:55:54 and this is going to be great. And I was like, oh, cool. So you play drums, he goes, well, I mean, I play like hand drums, like pots and pans. But he got a kid, and we started practicing, and one thing led to another, and 13 years later, you know, got the battle scars to show for it. When you do an open mic back in the day, like, what are you playing? I had some original stuff. I mean, I wrote songs from when I was, like, 12 or 13. Not that I wanted my parents to hear them, but, you know, you're working through all those complicated adolescent.
Starting point is 01:56:26 emotions and I turn to music as my as my source for for processing all that stuff you know I'm such a big fan of your music I think a lot of our listeners though will know you and tequila sure which is and we'll play a clip-up of it right now which is really one of my favorite country songs of the past 15 20 years absolutely incredible how do you and Kenny jessony get hooked up he just called me Cole called me but I mean we have a friend Holly who um I used to paint houses out on martha's vineyard and so Holly would go out to the vineyard and and she uh worked with Kenny. And when I was just getting started, somehow my CD ended up in her car. She then gave it to Kenny and he just put it in the big stack of CDs that everybody, you know,
Starting point is 01:57:07 you get handed a lot of CDs. I'm sure in Nashville you know about that, except there's no CDs anymore. But, you know, before it was stacks of CDs and he was just like bored on his boat, put it on, heard me singing a song I'd written when I was in my teens called Apologies. and he was just like, that, I want that. So Kenny Chesney just calls you. And what does he say when you enter the phone? Grace Potter, it was Kenny Chisney. You and I are going to be good friends.
Starting point is 01:57:37 No, we had a very brief conversation, but really for me it was about the song. That song, when it landed in my inbox, I didn't know what it would mean for me or my career to wander into that realm until I heard that song and then that's when I understood that I've always had country in my bones. I just didn't know pun intended but I it was there all along it's just the song calls out to you and and that song is just so incredible the way that it the way that it tells the story of what love can feel like
Starting point is 01:58:10 you know then you come back and you do with Kenny again wild child yes yes which again the first song was so strong was there a thought of man should we even jump back into this because that first one was so good I think we just had so much fun. We were trying to figure out excuses to just keep making music together because, you know, he was really exploring all the boundaries of what he is a, as a performer and a creative person could do. And that song was an expression of some of his wilder sides. And I think that, you know, I ended up being able to sort of guide him in that direction.
Starting point is 01:58:42 I mean, Bonaroo, you know, name-dropping Bonarue and Burning Man in a song, that's, that's brave, Kenny. Grace Potter is here with us, and we're going to announce some new music in just a second. But if you don't mind, again, me being selfish, I love stars. Thank you. And I, yeah. You don't mind playing? I don't mind playing it at all. I would love to. In fact, the first time I played this song, for Kenny, I was in the kitchen.
Starting point is 01:59:07 I was still working out the lyrics, but I played it. And again, every time he hears anything I do, he goes, Grace, that's a country song. But, you know, to me, it's about the song. And so I'm glad that this song resonates with you and that it's continued to so much for people. Love it. Grace Potter is here and we're going to talk about brand new music coming up in a second. But here is my favorite song of hers called Stars.
Starting point is 01:59:32 Hey guys, so because of licensing roles, we can't play anything with music on this Iheart radio channel or podcast anymore. But you can go to bobbybones.com to see it. We hate that we had to take it down. It wasn't our decision, but I just wanted to keep you up and we wanted to keep up as much as possible.
Starting point is 01:59:46 So go to bobbybones.com to watch or hear whatever you're missing right now. And thank you for listening to the show. And sorry about all the legal stuff. Come on. So good. Early in the morning, sounded like that. Early in the morning. We were talking before you came on the year and you said,
Starting point is 02:00:05 well, now that I have a kid, I have to wake up this early. Yeah, it's the 630 a.m. Mama. That's what Amy says to me too. Oh, yeah. She's like, Bobby tickle. That's how you get into it in the morning. Like, how else are you going to wake up?
Starting point is 02:00:20 The rumor about you was that after that last record, you weren't going to do another record. And it wasn't a rumor. I mean, I really went through a process of wondering if it was good for me. Music has always come very naturally, but it kind of felt like cheating. Like, I like painting houses, and I liked working in diners, and I liked being somewhere where you had to hone your craft. And for me, music was something that, of course, I played a little. a lot and I paid my dues but I don't rehearse you know I don't like sit there and go over scales on the guitar it just felt like something I was um I was born with and so in a weird way when
Starting point is 02:01:02 when things started to sort of unravel in both my professional and personal life which was all tied together it just felt like maybe that's that's that bookmark in my life and I'm I'm cool now I did the rock star thing and I can you were just going to quit go back to paying houses you were just going to quit. Do you know how awesome it is to paint houses? Do you know how sad I would have been if you never made music again? But like the fumes get you kind of dizzy.
Starting point is 02:01:27 No, I really do, I needed to fall back in love with music. I sort of blamed it for some of the hurt and things that happened in my life. And, you know, whenever you have success, the possibility of failure around that or that somebody else might get hurt, just kind of felt like it wasn't worth it.
Starting point is 02:01:51 And I just wanted to garden and get real in my own life for a while. Well, that being said, you have a new album, which I can't announce, right? We were cool on me announcing it. Okay, because it was... It's not a secret anymore, Bobby. Okay. The new album, what we call Daylight. Yes.
Starting point is 02:02:08 And that is in reference to something much bigger than just, like, it sounds like it's a, maybe a metaphor. Yeah, well, I think because of how long it's been, You know, it is sort of like being lost in the woods and you need to find your way out. And for me, that word daylight means telling the truth and stripping back all the things that, you know, it's kind of like if you've been in a bar all night with like the really nice lighting, everybody really looks good. And there's like sort of an Instagram filter on everybody's faces, you know? Just that those Edison bulbs really do the trick. But then when the bar wants to close, they want to kick you out.
Starting point is 02:02:49 And they turn the lights up and suddenly you're sort of faced with the reality of it. And I needed to be cool with the reality of my life. And that's what this record is really about. So the whole album comes out when? Well, I mean, the single hits as of midnight tonight. The pre-orders are on sale. Oh, the single's called Love is Love. I'm going to play that in one second.
Starting point is 02:03:09 That's right. So we're kind of trickling it out. You know, we've got a few tracks that we're going to be slowly leaking. But the ultimate date of the release of the album isn't until October. So we're going to really drag you guys through the mud. That's pretty quick. Sometimes artists come on and putting out a new record. We're like, when?
Starting point is 02:03:25 20071. Yeah. I'm like, wait, well, this is... There's a lot of things going to happen. So in October, that's pretty quick in the grand scheme. Yeah. But it's been four and a half years. So I think it's time to sort of plant my feet back,
Starting point is 02:03:40 you know, plant my flag back on the moon here, you know. Grace Potter is here with us. A couple quick questions for you before we play the new song that comes out at midnight tonight. You mentioned you worked at a diner. How much do you, what's the percentage you tip, Grace? Oh, I'm such a good tipper. I really do.
Starting point is 02:03:55 I feel like you can't walk out of a place where that. Even if it was a terrible service that they did, it starts at 20%. And I just move up from there. I'm not like, I'm not money bags. I just think that people work really hard and they deserve to be, you know, rewarded for even not being that good at their job. And sometimes, as I waited tables for a long time, too,
Starting point is 02:04:17 it's not our fault. No, that's what I mean is like sometimes you end up being the front man or front woman for a disastrous kitchen, for example. The front man or for a woman. That's a good analogy. If you open your YouTube right now, what do you see? Oh, it's all baby lullaby slumber, spa music type stuff. Or Bobby Darren, which I've been listening to a bit. And finally, you're going to make anything sound pretty.
Starting point is 02:04:42 Your grocery list. Definitely yogurt, almonds. I really like those food should eat. taste good chips, you know, what are they called? You know, they're like the multi-grained corn chips. If you were to sing your grocery list back pretty, how would it sound? Orange juice. That's it. I definitely want to get. Vodka, too.
Starting point is 02:05:03 All right, I'm going to play the new song, which, by the way, this new song here was produced by my husband. Yeah. Mr. Eric Valentine. You guys wrote and produced a whole thing just about, huh? Yeah. This album is really a partnership of of two brains that do totally different things. He's like Spock and I'm like Captain Kirk. You know, it's like, I'm all emotion and instincts
Starting point is 02:05:26 and sort of animalistic, just rah! And he's able to really thread the needle and see things for what they are and utilize science and math and his incredible skills as an engineer and producer to see clearly what needs to be done. And that led to an amazing love and experience that I will,
Starting point is 02:05:48 never forget. Is Keith Urban somehow involved in this song? Well, Keith, no, but Keith and Eric have gone way back and for some reason, Keith just really likes the way Eric mixes his songs and he just keeps on calling. Oh, is that what it is? I knew there was a relationship there. Yeah, they've worked together
Starting point is 02:06:04 for a long time. I think if you're not familiar with Eric Valentine's track record, he's definitely got, just check him out, you'll see. Kenny Rogers turns 81 years old today. Happy birthday, Kenny Rogers. that dude. Love him growing up. Grandma loved him. Love him now. It's always been super nice to me. Met him a few times. Kenny Rogers sold more than 120 million records. He won three Grammys,
Starting point is 02:06:31 24 number one songs. Also, three marriages and 20 acting roles. There we go. All the stats. Five things you may not have known about Kenny Rogers. Number five, he went by Kenny instead of Kenneth. Early on his year, in his career, Kenneth Rogers was advised by a telehealth. He was advised by a television host, hey, go by Kenny. Kenneth wasn't so sure about that. Kenneth Rogers. He was like, I don't know. And then Larry introduced him by his new moniker on the show and just said, here's Kenny Rogers. He was forced to. And then he was like, I could go with that forever. So that's how Kenneth Rogers became Kenny Rogers. That's awesome. Just some nutty TV dude going, in the reals everybody, Kenny Rogers. The next one, he was a jazz bassist and a hippie rocker. Did you know that?
Starting point is 02:07:18 No long before he recorded his country hits He cut his musical teeth by playing stand-up bass in a jazz group That big I'm also doing Green Day right there You are Is that Longview? Yeah
Starting point is 02:07:32 He was in a jazz group called the Bobby Doyle trio And when they split up He grew out his hair Piersed his ear Pink sunglasses was the frontman of a rock and roll group Called First Edition Which later became known
Starting point is 02:07:48 as Kenny Rogers in the first edition. And here's a clip of Kenny Rogers in the first edition, his rock and roll group and a song called Just Dropped In. I told my mind on a jagged sky, I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:08:06 How about that? You know that song, right? Yeah. My condition was in. That's funny, huh? Do you know that? I did not know that. That's awesome. He and Don Henley of the Eagles
Starting point is 02:08:17 used to be roommates. What? Yeah. During Kenny's days as a producer, Don Henley lived with him. Don wasn't actually in the Eagles at the time, but they lived together. He was a part of a group called Shiloh, which Kenny discovered and started working with him as a producer. So Kenny discovered Don Henley's pre-Eagles group. Wow.
Starting point is 02:08:35 They all lived together in Los Angeles. Kenny Rogers was a pro-level tennis player. Oh. He played tennis for 10 years, eight hours a day, developed a national ranking while he was on the road, playing with Wimbledon champs. Oh, my goodness. Eight hours a day? Then finally he held a chart record for 27 years. Islands in the stream.
Starting point is 02:08:53 Film me here with this one right here. It was the number one spot on the all-genre Billboard 100. It was basically, you know how Old Town Road's been holding on that number one song? Yes. Pop people knew it like crazy. That was this song. Okay. I would say it was the first Old Town Road.
Starting point is 02:09:09 Back in the day. Back in the day. It was a rare thing for a country single to cross over and claim the top spot in pop that Dolly and Kenny held that record for nearly 30 years. And so the only, you know the song to go Hot 100 cents? To do pop? Yes, go Eddie. Lady?
Starting point is 02:09:23 No, no, not his, not his. Oh, oh, oh, oh. It's another song. Another country song that went number one on Hot 100. 30 years later. Hit it. Friends in Lovewood. Lone star.
Starting point is 02:09:33 Ah, Loan Star. There you go. Happy birthday, Kenny Rogers. Those are five things you may have not known about him that I thought were pretty cool. Did you like that? Feel smarter? Yeah. Be truthful.
Starting point is 02:09:44 No, I like it. Cool. Now I feel like if I need random Kenny knowledge, I got it. Boom. Thank you very much. Shit. Would you eat a pickle-filled Oreo? No. You wouldn't?
Starting point is 02:09:55 I don't eat pickles. Because you got sick off of them as a kid. Yes, but that doesn't even sound good to me. Like pickles and chocolate cookie? It sounds great to me because I used to be like you. I was once a naysayer. But then I realized pickles tastes really good in lots of sweet things. You ever had a piccadilly?
Starting point is 02:10:13 No, I haven't had a pickles. No, I haven't had a pickle since. It's amazing. Delicious. I haven't had a pickle since the sixth. sixth grade unless Chick-fil-A's accidentally put on my sandwich. I thought you're going to say a pickle since the 60s. I know.
Starting point is 02:10:22 I've picked since the 60s. Okay. There's a fair in pickles and Oreos. Hmm, interesting. And now it's for sale at Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop. So if you want to check it out, it's a three-pack from Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop. They're available online too. Wait, so is the filling flavored like a pickle, or they open it up, stick a pickle in there and make it a sandwich?
Starting point is 02:10:46 Well, it's not a sandwich, but yes. Pickle in the middle of the cookie. Okay. What's up with you today? Well, I'm excited today because I finally get my spray tan. Yeah. I felt really pale, so I've got a workout and then that and kids stuff. What about you?
