But it was kind of hard to get Corona after Tom Hanks. Like, you really, there are any bigger stars. Like, who else could get Corona? Trump or Obama? That's about it. And outshine Tom Hanks. Andy Cohen has been diagnosed with Corona over the weekend. Cold and Underwood from The Bachelor has Corona. Do you guys ever go, oh, I think I have it. Sure. No. No.

Oh, okay. Oh, Eddie, I'm the same. Like, I walked upstairs because I'm in my house. I walked upstairs and I was like, a little short of breath. I probably have it. Me too. I feel the short of breath probably like, I don't know, once a day. And I'm just like, oh my gosh. My chest feels tight. I don't know. I might have that dry cough, but then I'm fine.

Like I'm doing this a lot. If I have it, it's probably from Mike D or Eddie. Maybe. What, Amy? Did I see that Harvey Weinstein has it? And isn't he in jail? And then I also said he was in isolation. So I'm like, what?

Well, it's also been at the, well, first of all, he could have got a lot of places. And he didn't have to get it next to a person. It could have been a surface. True. But yes. But I saw where they asked Trump over the weekend if they're going to let out older prisoners because of that. Like older nonviolent prisoners will they let them out of jail because if they get it in jail, they're screwed.

And they didn't have an answer then, but he's like, hey, well, think about that. But aren't they already screwed in jail? Like, I mean, literally. Yeah. No, no, no. And then do they have a, I mean, I guess it would depend if they have places to go. I don't know. Eddie, I would say,

you're probably. I just meant like, you know, they're in a bad place right now. They're in jail. Yeah, but I mean, to be sick and in jail and have,

they have to take care of them. Yeah. So again, it's always about what the health care is and if it will break, right? Yeah. Which is why we're trying to fix

as fast as possible, which is why it's like, hey, we should just shut everything down quickly and then bounce back quicker rather than drag it out, slowly and watch it die and then try to bring it back slowly. But again, I'm listening to doctors and scientists more than I'm listening to anything else. I would rather be wrong listening to doctors

and scientists. So, but yeah, Harvey Weinstein got it. There was a whole list of celebrities that over the weekend they had it. I just saw where Amy Klobuchar's husband has it. It's a whole thing where now you're just somebody else who gets it. Now if you don't have it, you're not cool. Harvey Weinstein, Andy Cohen, Placido Domingo. The keyboard is from Bon Jovi. Living on a Prayer at the moment. Oh gosh. Although he says he's getting better every day. Debbie Mazar from Goodfellas and Entourage. Also from, I think she's in Younger as well. You know who that is? Amy? I watch younger, but I don't know the...

I'm the only person I know by name would be Hillary Duff, but... Edris Elba's wife, so... And then that one is pretty obvious. If he has it, she has it. Prince Albert, whoever that is, Rand Paul, who is the first U.S. Senator test positive, and he was the only one to vote against at one point, the Coronavirus Act to find him and he gets it.

Which... Weird. Right, just ironic. Yeah. Yeah. But, and then, you know, they have, after he supposedly got it, they have pictures of him, like, at lunch with a lot of folks. He's saying he didn't go to the gym. So, who knows, man.

It's just a lot happening right now. Republican Rand Paul has become the first sitting member of the U.S. Senate to contract COVID-19. He's feeling fine and is in quarantine. Paul's positive test prompted other senators who work alongside him to seek medical advice. And then it just turns political, which that's not where I want to go. Paul's revelation comes days after Kentucky's

senator was opposed and delayed a stimulus package to combat COVID-19. It's just, yeah, just irony. Never want to see anyone get sick. Anything else going on? Amy, what's going on with you right now? What's up today? Nothing, really just Wi-Fi, my dad.

I need to get, my dad has some stuff going on that I just found out about that I need to get some stuff to him, ASAP. So I guess I'll go to the store and then drop it off outside, like, be like, coming in and I throw it through the door. It's like they don't let me anywhere near that place. But yeah, that's basically it. Scoba, Steve, can you put him on a microphone? Again, I'm at my house, so I don't know.

I'm here, hello. Or anyone is. Scuba? Yeah, what's up, man? Did you go and buy a gun? Yeah, I went and bought a 20-gauge shotgun. Remington 20-gauge. Why not?

He's going to kill the corona with a gun. Not kill Corona, but if things get worse, I want to protect my family. Okay, so. And you have every right to do so, right? Like, I have guns. I'm a gun guy. However, it's always, it feels a bit unsafe when someone who's never used a gun

goes and grabs a gun just to fight back when they, you're more likely to shoot yourself than you are somebody else if you hadn't had any experience with a weapon. But I am going to practice so I am ready to go for it. But I also thought too, if we lose power or food-related issues go down where we don't have food, I can, you know, shoot, I have rabbit in the backyard, deer.

Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, I can take those out and feed the family. And you guys as well, and hang out and barbecue. I think if you want a gun and you don't have a lot of things, you know, you don't have any history of mental illness, you don't have any felonies, you check out a background test, great. You should be able to, the good guy should be able to get guns.

I just think it's a bit risky if you've never used one before and then all of a sudden you're out trying to shoot people. You can even make bad decisions with guns. I'm just saying be careful. No, I am. Trust me, having it there, it freaks me out, even buying it, my chest. You know, that feeling you have where you're just really nervous and as constricted as I was purchasing it. That's called coronavirus.

You had coronavirus while you bought the gun. Yeah, but I'm nervous about it, but I want to get educated. I've been watching a lot of videos. Oh, my God. YouTube's been helping me. But I do need to go to a range and practice that. I really do. Range, it's a shock.

No, range. You don't have time. You can't go anywhere. You're quarantine. So you have a 20-gauge, Scoobie, Steve, right? Yeah. Let me talk with you for a second. Please.

You may not know this. I'm oddly pretty well versed at guns. Okay. And you have a shotgun. So if I were you, I don't know what kind of shells you have. You have... I got buckshots. I got, what do they call, double-o's, or zero-zero's.

Okay, so you have buckshot, you have slugs, which are two different things. Do you know the difference? I know one of them is for protection, and one of them can also be for protection. Oh, they'll both protect you. Don't worry about that. Yeah, I would even say, don't really. grab the slugs because you don't know how to shoot it. And at least if you have a spread,

you have a better shot of hitting something. Okay. Okay, so the buck shot, right? That's the size of the beads inside. We'll call it the bullet, okay? It's the shell, but we'll call it the bullet. So with the buckshot, there's a lot of beads inside the bullet. Now you can get bird shot,

you can get different kinds of shot, and the beads get smaller as it goes. But what happens is when you shoot it, it comes out and it spreads. so it's less intense of a but more intense but a wider spread so you have a better shot to hit it. Does that make sense?

That makes total sense, yes. Now a slug is one bullet. It's like a fist. Now, if that fist hits you, it's going to do bad things to you. But what are the odds of the fist hitting you? You know, not as good if you had more of a spread.

I would encourage you, for now, don't even look at the slugs. Okay, I have a lot more of those. go to a range, just go into the woods, find a spot that's out away from things, and put cans on a log, make sure there's nobody around, and that's how you,

you can go to a range if you want, but I've never heard of them going to a range of buckshot. Okay. But I'm not really a range guy. I grew up in the woods, but I've never heard of, I've heard of people going to the range with like pistols. Yeah, that makes sense.

Yeah. But never with a 20 gauge. Okay. But a 20 gauge, I'll also say this, probably a little oh man I probably just went on with a 22 or something if I were you but but 20 gauge is okay I had a 20 gauge when I was 12

so that's probably about right okay yeah because I was gonna get a 12 and the guy's like it's your first time you want to get that 20 because it has less of a recoil and better control so that's why I went with that one yeah now one of the shotguns that I have is a 12 gauge okay and so and I have a couple different ones I even have a home invasion 12 gauge

so it's just easier to move around with. Because when I'm ready to bop some people, and that's what real gun owners say, they say bop people. So start saying that. I'm a bop some people. Well, listen, I'm nervous because you don't have any experience with the gun

and now you have a gun in your house with your wife and your kid. But it is your right. I encourage you, don't keep the gun loaded. Okay? Yeah, I have it unloaded. I have it locked. I have it locked on the case.

I bought a case. And I also have that wire that goes through the casing, to lock the shell area as well. Good. It's going to take you an hour to protect yourself. You've got to put in 10 codes. What? Retina scan, lock combination,

Rubik's Cube, and then finally you get to the gun. Like, what's... That's a valid point. I'm just so nervous of having it, so I want to have it all locked up. But you're right. If something were to happen, I wouldn't be able to get to it.

I'm assuming it's a pump. It's a pump one. Yeah, it goes... Nice. Okay. Oh my God. Oh my God. He's like talking to an eight-year-old.

And he goes, pow. Oh, okay. Oh, no. Have you practiced loading it and unloading it? I haven't. I'm absolutely terrified of doing anything with it. That's why I need to go. I need to go with somebody who can help me and show me,

because all I'm doing is watching videos, and it's somewhat helpful, but having a one-on-one session would be great. You know who's oddly okay at it? And I wouldn't say he's as skilled as I am, but is actually pretty good as Eddie. Yeah, you want to bring the gun in the studio? I'll show you how to load it. No, no, no, bring it to the studio.

Okay. But, like, Eddie could take you out and you could actually shoot with Eddie. And I used to get, because I wouldn't shoot my guns for years at a time, and I would just send him with Eddie to go shoot him and make sure that there were no problems. Yeah. Remember that, Eddie? Yeah, I do remember. I'd go bird hunting.

And you were like, what are you going to do to those birds? He would give me the pep talk of, like, why would you want to kill a bird? I'm like, I'm about to go hunting. This isn't the pep dog I need. You're not going to eat it. Why are you trying to kill it? You can go with Eddie. And what I would encourage you to do is practice loading and unloading it.

Okay. Because it's, you know, you take it. I don't know your gun. Mine loads to the side, the one that I keep near me. But yours probably loads from the bottom. It does, yes. And so it's about pushing the shell up, pushing another one up behind it.

It only holds so many until you've got to put one in the chamber, which means you have to go, and that opens up another spot for you to push another one up. And then once it's in the chamber, you need to make sure your safety's on. Know what color. Hopefully your safety has an orange on or a color on it to know when it's on. And then without shooting it,

you need to know how to unload it. Okay. So, but that, oh my gosh. I'm nervous for you. I'm still nervous for me. But I need it. Maybe you get another lock for it. Maybe he just never unlocks it.

He buys it, has it, and feels good, and never gets it out. Okay. Eddie, can you lend in my hand maybe? Yeah, absolutely. And you did a great job explaining exactly how to do it. That was pretty good. Well, I'm nervous for him. And, I mean, Arkansas Keith taught me how to.

I had to go out when I was 10 or so, because I had a 410. That's probably what I would have given you. Never having a gun, probably a 410. Because you could still really, I mean, any bullet going into anybody is going to be awful. Yeah. Right?

It doesn't matter almost what gun it is. but I had a 4-10, which was a small, even smaller shotgun. And I had to practice unloading and loading that thing like crazy. But we had one where you had to stick to, it was a, you stick both a shell, two shells in it. Boom, done. Anyway, enough. Enough gun talk. I'm really not gun guy.

I'm just, I think you should be able to have a gun guy if you're not a bad person or you haven't had some psychological issues. So, all right. Good luck, Scoop, Steve. Thank you. I appreciate it. I just heard it on the grapevine Or through the grapevine Or whatever you say that you had a gun

Because if you chick-ch-ch-ch-ch-you-better-boom. Okay.

That's another quote. Bobby-Bone's quote right there. If you ch-ch-chip, they should boom-boom. Just because if someone hears that, they think they're about to get shot. Okay. And people get aggressive whenever they think someone's about to get aggressive on them. Well, I'm glad we have this talk. Oh, man.

You're going to ch-ch-chick, you better boom, boom. Chika boom, chickabum, chickabum. I hope this doesn't turn into a thing, like a real-life thing. Okay, Scoobo Steve, thank you. Thank you. All right. Amy, did you know he had a gun? No, just learn from you, but I found that to be pretty interesting.

And as someone who has taken gun safety courses, it is important. Yeah, Amy can carry in certain states. In North Carolina. I have a concealed carry license. So, and I mean, but yeah, I had to go out to the. range, know how to shoot, and... But you had a pistol, though. Yeah, like some little

gun thingy. And my husband... I know nothing about handguns. I'm talking... Except for what I see on TV shows, I know nothing about handguns. Just in case you guys are wondering, I don't even know what they're called. I can talk you through rifles and shotguns all day, but I don't know nothing about handguns. Anyway, go ahead. Yeah, well, that was back when I remember I was obsessed with being, like, citizens arrest and taking care of myself. And my husband was deployed a lot.

But, I mean, I feel... I feel safe around them because I know that I took the classes, but I'm still, I'm not, I wouldn't say I'm gun girl. I'm responsible. No, no, you're not gun girl. You didn't even want to walk in with your concealed gun. Amy had to wear a fanny pack and walk it into a store. And you know how you see these old cowboys walk bow-legged? She had it in a fanny pack and she was walking bow-legged because she thought she was going to shoot herself. Yeah, I had it like triple Velcroed in. Like there was no, like if I needed to pull that thing out, it would have taken like 10 minutes. So, but it still was something cool that I did for myself. I agree with that.

In case I am ever in a situation. And then my husband is like super expert with guns because he was in the military. So I just let him handle that. And I take the African spear. Yeah. You have to get really close to somebody with that spear, though. Yeah, but I've already practiced how I'm going to charge someone and put that thing right into their, you know what. Oh, really?

Yeah. No, I don't know what. You know, but I don't know. I'm either going to go. I wouldn't aim for the, but I wouldn't aim for the penis. I know. That would be hard. I would miss. I have to go for the abs, like the stomach.

Yeah. The widest, most middle part you can get. Don't go for the head, hard to hit the head. Go for the, like, I would aim for like the sternum because you can miss a little bit. Yeah, yeah. What, Eddie? Well, I mean, I just feel like if you go for the abs, you know, you don't kill someone so they just have to sit there and talk to

and be like, why did you do that? Well, you're the one that broke in my house? Like, ah, I got a spear in my stomach. Okay, I'm going to kill them unless you get them right in the head and that's a tough shot. Right. Yeah, this is basically walking dead style. You've got to go straight for the head. I'm just kidding. I'm not going

Eddie, I'm not going to attack someone just because they came in my house. I'm going to obviously talk to them rationally and give them a chance to turn around and make a good decision. Nope. No, no rational talk with me. It's why are you in my house? You have five seconds. One.

I never like it when I have to come on and be like Well bad news over the weekend And we'll start with that Kenny Rogers died at 81 years old That was Friday night you know, I saw it Saturday morning, probably like a lot of you guys. I think I saw it on Twitter. Amy, where did you see it?

I saw it on Instagram. I heard the news from Dolly. I follow her, and so right when I pulled it up, it was a video from her. I had gotten to know Kenny, which was really cool. And, you know, it all started with an interview that we did. And we're going to play that back later on in the show. And it was a half-hour interview when he was scheduled to just do an eight-minute interview as one of those that just went so well.

So we're going to play that back later on the show. morning, but I feel like, which kind of walked down the Kenny Rogers lane for a second. By the way, if you just turn on the radio on, you haven't heard, which I'm sure you have. But Kenny Rogers died Friday night. According to a statement posted by his family, Kenny was 81 years old. Listen, you probably know the gambler, lady, islands in the stream, maybe Lucille. They say he died peacefully at his home in Sandy Springs, Georgia of natural causes at 10.25 p.m. So a little history for you.

Kenny Rogers had 24 number one hits, won six CMAs, three Grammys. He was born in Houston, Texas. Kennedy did not grow up rich. He was raised in public housing. And he had seven brothers and sisters. So that's kind of the back story of his life. His first gold single was when he was 20 years old

with a song called That Crazy Feeling. And that wasn't even Kenny Rogers. That was Kenneth Rogers, who was still trying to figure out his sense. because Kenny Rogers came to country a little bit later. One of his biggest hits was Lady, written by Lionel Richie. I saw an Instagram post from Lionel of him and Kenny hugging it. Hugging it out on stage.

Yeah, that was number one for six weeks in 1980. Oh my gosh. Yeah, a lot. You know, he had a lot of female duet partners, most notably, as you mentioned, Dolly Parton. They were paired at the suggestion of the Bee Gehys Barry Gibb, who wrote, who actually wrote the song, Islands and the Stream. You know the Beegeys are, right, Amy? Yes, I do.

Say, ha, ha, ha, stay in a lot. Yeah, yeah. He received a total of 10 awards from the ACMs. He sold 47 million records. Kenny Rogers is survived by his wife, Wanda, and his son's Justin, Jordan, Chris, and Kenny Jr. The family is planning a private service out of concern for the coronavirus emergency.

that was from a statement they put out, a public memorial will be held at a later date. So rest of pieces, Kenny Rogers, I grew up and, you know, obviously I was born in the 80s, so I mentioned a second ago that when Lady came out, that was the number one in the 1980s. So it wasn't for me like, contemporarily he was an artist that was rolling alongside of me.

But much like most of country music, I was raised by my grandma. And it was a lot of Kenny Rogers. And, I mean, is there a bigger song? then you got to know when to hold them. And I say that because I think everybody can sing this. If you're 19 years old, you probably know the chorus of the song. They've done movies based on this song.

It was number one country, I think it's the number one pop song too. Oh, wow. So as far as songs go, that create, stories. I mean, how many songs have a movie based off of them, you know? So anyway, obviously, Kenny Rogers was a massive deal in country music, even in pop music. He was a pop artist. He was like a jazz artist early on. So Kenny Rogers, rest in peace. So fun getting to know him. You know, I didn't know him until way later in life. And it all started with an interview that we're going to play later on in the show. or the gambler just because of my family too, those top two ones. But for my upbringing, like my parents weren't the most like musical type people. It's not like I have a bunch of influences that I got from my parents when it comes to music. But my sister and I would both tell you that one thing we always heard them playing and we can remember is Kenny Rogers. So yeah, I mean, he, that was, country was more their vibe. But something about Kenny Rogers, especially my sister because she's four years older than me. Like she really, like she, this weekend on Instagram, like she was putting up sing-alongs like her and her husband.

I don't know. It was like a week or so ago. Bobby had this boxing fundraiser, and I took Stevenson, and he took the class and loved it. And then I was talking to Bobby's boxing trainer dude, Jared, and he's like, yeah, I love training kids. But now with the whole, you know, you need to stay home kind of thing, I'm pretty pumped that Bobby's gym is going to be doing or is already doing like these Instagram video workout classes live and on YouTube too. So I think that this is going to be Stevenson's PE because now we're basically homeschooling. So I need to make sure we incorporate PE time.

So boxing it is. title boxing. P.E. Thank you. Well, I would suggest that you order online one of those boxing bags that come from the ground. Oh, okay. You know what I'm saying? It's like a base and the bag goes up

and they get us a little boxing gloves. And yeah, there's a lot of stuff you can watch online. But are you going to make your son do like X amount of time a day for P.E.? Yes, we're going, yes, because they have P.E. at school. So we're going to have P.E. at home. School must go on, but it's just in a different location, our house. and yeah, thanks for the heads up. because I was just going to have him punched the air. No, no, I would get him a bag. Okay. You don't have to hang it somewhere. You can actually buy one with a base on it. Okay, cool. And you can follow, if you want to follow our gym, we're doing a lot of, obviously, free workouts.

It's at Title Nash. You know, nobody can go to the gym. So we're doing them, and you can just, you know, they're 20 and 30 minutes long. They're also not an hour long. I struggle a bit with watching stuff online. I kind of need someone to either motivate me or I just need to jump into it myself. But they're really cool.

We're working really hard to make sure that people can still, you know, get their exercise in and not just for health, but just so that you don't go crazy, you know, if you're just in the house all the time. So, all right, there you go. Hey! What's the hat? Well, I told you guys about my dog. So he had been really acting.

His just behavior had been struggling. And so he was like biting, chewing all the time. He had chewed two holes in two of the chairs up in my house. He was peeing everywhere. So I take him to the vet because he had this growth on the side of his jaw. And they checked that out. And they're like, you know what? There's nothing in that.

But he had two ear infections. And the ear infections were what was making him kind of act crazy. So now we're putting drops in his ears. I'm telling you, this dog is just never going to be all the way unbroken. Just something always. But a lot of you guys were sending me thoughts on what was going on with him. But, you know, listen, when I got him, I knew that he was sick. So, but man, it is a constant battle.

But that's what it was. It's two ear infections. His jaw, he's still taking antibiotics for his jaw, but we're going to be fine. We're going to get through it. If anything, he loves us all being at the house because he has friends all day long. You know, we're not leaving for four or five hours now whenever I would head off to the studio. So, all right, there you go. There's mine.

Hey, what's the hatch? Lunchbox. A few weeks ago, we had a tornado here in town, and it came through my neighborhood, and it knocked my fence down. And my fence that I share with my neighbor went down, and it fell into his yard. And it has been sitting there ever since. And I just wonder who's supposed to pay to get the fence replaced? Because my neighbor has not approached me.

I haven't approached my neighbor. It's kind of like a stalemate. And the fence is just laying in his yard. So I don't know who pays for what. It's your fence. Right? Yeah, yeah, it's shared. Like it's both of our fence, I guess, but it fell in his yard. Well, no, it's somebody's fence. But Bobby's, who's is it? When it's right down the middle, whose fence is it? That's what I don't know. Someone owns the fence. It's on somebody's property and

someone paid for the fence. And the fence was there when I moved in. Okay, you find out who owns the fence and they pay for it. See, I thought because it fell in his yard that he should pay, I'm expecting him to pay for it, but it's just laying there. And he hasn't said anything about it. So I'm like, is he waiting for me to say something? Like, is he waiting for me to write a check to get it fixed? I don't know. I would say the person who the back of the fence is facing their house and their yard, that's whose fence it is, and they pay for it. All right. That means it's his fence. Yes.

So when it fell into his yard, do you see the back of the fence? No, no, no. It fell like the two, the fence. The fence. pickets fell onto his yard so the two by fours are in my yard like facing my own that might be lunchboxes oh no yeah yeah so what i'm saying is lunchbox is that a fence is put up inside out so he would see the pretty side of the fence it sounds like it's your fence and you need to pay for it oh man even though it fell in his yard that doesn't matter if it was a tree from your yard that fell in his yard you have to pay for it if your house blows into his yard if god forbid there was a tornado that's you having to pay for it. Oh, all right. Well, I guess I'll offer to pay, I'll tell him, hey, man,

I guess I need to pay for the fence and see what he says. Or he can just be like, hey, the fence fell in our yards. How do you want to handle this and just see what he says? But if he does go, hey, you need to pay for it, then you should pay for it. All right. All right, there you go. Hey. Hey, what's the hat? Eddie? Guys, I'm starting to think that I might be a pretty good judge. And maybe being a state judge or a county judge could be a thing in my future because look, I have four kids and they're always arguing. And when they're arguing about something, guess who has to come in and sort it out and figure out who's guilty and who's lying? And so that's me every day. And I'm like, maybe this is my preparation for my future and I don't

even know it. Well, I think to be a judge, there are things you have to do. It's not just about making decisions on fights. Oh, you got to go to law school. It's by knowing the law. Oh. So, that's why a lot of them are attorneys. I need to be a lawyer to be a judge. Well, I just don't think you sit there. It's like someone going, you know what? A lot of my friends have problems and I help them. I should be a psychiatrist. Well, here's like a big one that I kind of like has been studying. Because when two of them are fighting,

one of them's always like, hey, so-and-so hit me. And immediately after, there's another kid saying, I didn't do anything. I didn't do anything. And usually the one that says I didn't do anything is the one that did it. So that's how I've been punishing them. It sounds like you're just a parent. Okay. All right. Well, more than a judge. It sounds like

In other news, President Donald Trump authorized the National Guard to deploy to Washington, California, New York. They're the hardest hit states and have been declared coronavirus disaster zones. And finally, statewide lockdowns where you're required to stay at home unless you need to go get food have been ordered in New Jersey, California, New York, Illinois, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Texas, Florida, Ohio, and Louisiana.

Only essential services are allowed to go to work. Coming from the Basque Pro Shops and Cabela Studio on Music Row, it's the Bobby Bone Show. A Missouri woman gave birth this week in the toilet paper aisle of the Walmart where she was shopping. The manager of the store in Springfield says the woman warned people working in the store. that her last child came in only 30 minutes. She went into labor and her water broke in front of the shelves of toilet paper, which I'm most surprised, not that she had a baby in Walmart, but there was toilet paper on the shelf.

Another shopper told the manager she was in labor, and there was a delivery nurse who happened to be there, pulled gloves from her back pocket and took over, firefighters soon arrived and helped deliver a baby girl. How about that? Are there toilet paper? Is there toilet paper in the stores now, though? No, negative.

Okay, because I went and saw none. And I didn't know if they had upped their production because I'm not seeing as many people taking pictures of shelves without toilet paper. And I'm glad they're not. You know, part of the reason that people were freaking out is that people kept posting pictures and videos of the shelves being gone. There was also this article, too, where I think there were 11 things that in the stores were still fully stocked.

It was like vegan cheese. One of them was like pineapple microwave pizzas. Like nobody wanted pineapple pizza. So Amy, have you been to the grocery store lately? Yeah, Target, but that's it. And yeah, I mean, it was what I expected. So I guess I just kind of got what I needed. But I feel like through this, yeah, like we'll know what consumers really want.

like what's left over, maybe what companies should make and what they shouldn't make? The question is, is drinking cow urine any help? There's a long tradition in India of promoting cow urine as a traditional remedy for a disease. And so people have started to drink cow urine, even in America, because they're trying anything. And now they're having to come out and go,

hey, America, cow urine doesn't work. Because people, you know, when they tried or they said they're trying it, they post it online, and it starts to spread, obviously, like everything else does. So this is your, the more you know that don't drink cal urine because it's not going to help you if you are sick. You know, it's also weird, thank you. Because if you start to feel like I have allergies like crazy this time of year,

and every time I go, I'm like, uh-oh, is it finally hitting me? Corona? Are you doing that at all, Amy, where you think every day there's something happening or you think you might have it? Not at all, the exact opposite. it, which maybe is not good. I just feel like, ah, I've been safe. How would I get it?

But I mean, I'm not being irresponsible with that. I just don't think that I have had any symptoms at all. Well, I have them every day. They turn not to be false, but every day I feel a new symptom. Are you taking your temperature every day? Just through my butt. Okay. Okay.

Okay, TMI. Hey, so on with us right now is Matt Jones from Kentucky Sports Radio. Matt and I went to dinner, and I've been a big fan of Matt for a while. And so much so it's like you know somebody on the internet for a long time. And, you know, you're nervous before the first date. And it's like we both swiped right and, you know, we're finally meeting. And so we go and we have dinner together. And I get to dinner.

And I arrived probably seven or eight minutes early. You know, me, I'm always a little bit early. Never late, always a little early. And I get there. And Matt is knuckles deep. and like his second entree. He's already started eating at the restaurant when Caitlin and I are going.

This bowl of edamame dumplings has gone. And I'm like, what's up, man? He's like, man, I've been here for like 40 minutes just thought I would get started. Like a little bit off putting. Well, here's the thing. You're talking about being nervous. Very rarely do people in a first meeting,

one person brings a date. And the other person's just left solo. So I already felt sort of third wheelish. So I ended up arriving early. And then I'm just sitting there in this restaurant and all the little foo foo like waiters, like everybody, like everybody's so hip, and they all have tight jeans and everybody looks hipster. And I was, and you know, I felt uncomfortable in my UK hoodie. And so I think they had to look like, okay, dude, are you going to order something?

And you just can sit here and stare at it. And so I felt like an edamamey dumpling was a good like starter course. But yeah, you clearly were very like, why are you eating? I was shaken. It's our first date. And you're eating. You're probably already partially full. So the butterflies are gone.

We needed to be an equal butterfly for this. And by the way, I didn't have a date. My girlfriend and I are quarantined together. And I was like, hey, I'm going to go. And she's a massive sports fan. And I was like, hey, I'm going to go and meet this guy that I've been dating on the internet for the past few months. And I was like, he's cool. We won't care if you.

So I didn't see it as a third wheel. I saw it as just like three chums. Listen, she was delightful. She's awesome. You, you know, I don't, you should, like, make her a bigger part of your life because I enjoy, I enjoyed her. She was funny. She rolls her eyes at what you do, which I think is what somebody like you and I need. So I thought she was great.

And I enjoyed it. Listen, I was worried about this. Like, you're the big star. You're on Dancing with the Stars, an American Idol. I did the Lexington Dancing with the Stars and came in third. Not quite the same as winning the National. And then you're on American Idol. I do karaoke at the local bar.

So I was kind of felt a little intimidated. But for people who listen to this and go, oh, is Bobby as nice as he seems here? I want to say, yes, he is. He is exactly like you think. The hair is just as like, you know, has as much product as you would think. And he's as nice as you would think.

On with us right now is Matt Jones. You may know him from his radio show in Kentucky, but also a massive country music fan. So we're talking about music a bit. And in Kentucky, Eddie, if I say Kentucky country music, who comes to mind right now? I mean, just Blake because of his line in Kentucky. Who? Oh, okay.

No, I would go John Michael Montgomery. Listen, that's a good call. John Michael Montgomery is a great dude. And it's from Nicholasville. You know, Kentucky has produced an unbelievable amount of country singers. And in the current world, we're kind of dominating what I think is the sort of new wave of country the Chris Stapleton, Thurzel Simpson, Tyler Childers branch. So Kentucky's got a long history, and most of the Kentucky country singers have come from like a 40-mile radius in the mouth.

What do you think that's about? You know, it's a good question. I think a lot of it is the culture in those places. Like, it's kind of where a lot of modern bluegrass, well, older bluegrass music started. And then, you know, these generations of singers, so it's in the painful Johnson County, Eastern Kentucky area. So you had this generation going back of like, started with Tom T. Hall. And then it's another generation that had like Patti Lovelace and Dwight Yolkham. And then another generation that was like the Judds and all this group and now this new one.

And I think it's just, you know, there's a culture there. Kids grow up playing music at an early age, playing a very distinctive type of music. We're talking to Matt Jones right now from Kentucky Sports Radio, but also a huge country music fan. Talk about your book for a second. Yeah, so I wrote a book that is called Mitch Please. It comes out in a couple weeks, and it is about Mitch McConnell, but it's really about Kentucky. So my pile today is dedicated to Kenny Rogers who passed away over the weekend. And the first story we're going to get into is how Kenny topped both the country and pop singles charts with Lady. Lady, for so many years, I thought I'd never find you. All right, tell me more. Well, Lionel Richie wrote this song,

and it was released by Kenny Rogers in 1980, and he wrote the song, especially for Kenny, who also produced the song, song. And when Motown Records told Kenny Rogers that Lionel Richie wanted to write a song for him, he immediately flew to Vegas to meet him. And then this song came out. It was his eighth country number one and his first song to go number one on the pop charts. I saw a picture that Lionel posted of him and Kenny over the weekend. I know they were friends. I was reaching out to Lionel yesterday to see if he wanted to come on and talk about Kenny. And the only problem is, like,

we're on now and it's like four o'clock in the morning there. So I was like, you know, never mind. Maybe we'll get you on a different day, Lionel. So, yeah, I do know they ended up being super close. All right, what else? So Kenny was a pro-level tennis player, and he loved basketball. Kenny played tennis for 10 years, eight hours a day, every day, and developed a national ranking while he was on the road playing with Wimbledon champs. He said that tennis was a near obsession for him, so much so that he had a couple of tennis

pros travel with him on the road. Some people take their trainer. he would take pro tennis players so that he could play them. And then each city he would go to, he would set up matches and he was really, really good at doubles games. And he would fly from city to city, do the shows and then play, like I said, with the tennis pros while he was there. And he would get in practice before a show each night as well.

So definitely a lot of tennis happening, but also basketball. And he even, like, was held this three-day fundraiser thing in his house called Kenny Rogers Classic Weekend. And like Michael Jordan came by, played him. in basketball and Larry Bird. So, and it was like televised on TV. So that was a special moment of him with basketball. Crazy.

He played for eight hours a day. I don't do anything for eight hours a day. I don't even sleep eight hours a day. And he's playing tennis for eight hours a day. All right, what else? Well, Islands in the stream became the first country song to ever simultaneously top the country, pop, and adult contemporary charts. So it was number one on three different charts at the same time.

Hey, Eddie, does Amy say? that song weird to you or is it only me? No, I heard something a little weird about it. I don't know if it's like Islands in the stream or something. That's what it is. Yeah, she says it like that. Amy, say it again, the name of the song? Islands in the stream?

And he said, really, just keep in mind how you can support the doctors and nurses that are really like, working overtime right now. And then also if you want to find different ways to support people in the community, you can buy gift cards and give them to the doctors and nurses. And then that's like a full circle moment. It helps businesses locally and supports the doctors and nurses. You know, right now, if you want to help somebody, you can almost just yell out the door. A lot of people need it in a lot of different ways. And this is a great story. And it's doctors and nurses, people who are not getting to work as much or at all. It's kids who are trying to learn who don't

have computers. There's just a lot of ways. And the sooner we realize that we should, it's almost like a relationship, us with everyone else. You know, they say in a relationship, you should always be looking out for the other one. And it's almost like that. Now, you should always be looking out for the others. So you guys probably saw Kenny Rogers pass away over the weekend. He was 81 years old. Was lucky enough to meet Kenny in this studio, but actually, you know, become pretty friendly with him afterward for a couple of years. He died Friday night from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family. Now we're talking about six decades where he was doing music. He was inducted into the country music call of fame of 2013. He had 24 number ones. He had 50 million albums just the United States rolling through his songs. Lady Lucille, the gambler, islands in the stream.

I mean, I could keep going. He did stop by here on the show, which is what I wanted to do now is play this for you. He came by September 27th, 2013. And he walked in and we're going to start this interview from even before the interview starts. He walked in. We're just kind of talking a little bit. And it was one of those rare interviews where I have butterflies before the person walks in because you spend your whole life watching them on TV. And for me, it was obviously my grandmother. That's who introduced me to everything that wasn't 90s country. Like, you know, I grew up with the grandma, and she was from Arkansas, and she was big into gospel and country music. And that's what we listened to. And that's how I knew of Kenny Rogers. So this interview we're

going to play, it's about Dolly, it's about Elvis. We talk about Michael Jackson. And it was just a real special time. It was a real cool time for all of us to sit in the room with them. And this interview was going to be just eight minutes long period. He was going to stop by for eight minutes, but it ended up being a half hour. And we'll play this back into two parts. this hour, and if you miss one of the parts, just check it back on the podcast and listen to the whole thing, half hour straight through.

Here we go. All right, Kenny Rogers is here. Hello. Well, I'm kind of here. Do I call you Kenny or Mr. Rogers? Oh, Mr. Rogers will be fine. I'm serious because I was talking to them and I said, what do I call them?

Because it's such a respect thing. You call me Mr. Rogers. I feel like I should be on television with a kid show. That's what I said, too. I said it's like the neighborhood. But so, Kenny? Please, yeah. I prefer that.

Let's clap. Kenny Rogers here in the studio. It's awesome to have you. Oh, you're clapping for yourself. Of course I am. Sounds like more people. I got to say that I, and this is not a lie, I was playing your song. It's been a couple days.

I was just playing it on the air and it wasn't on the playlist or anything like that. And I was just like, man, I really like this song. One, it has kind of this nostalgic piece to it. However, it's also just a really good song. Yeah. It's a great story behind this song. You know, I was in California doing a country fest called Stagecoach. And a guy comes backstage and he said, Kenny, I'm Ryan King.

I was William, I'm William King's son from the Commodores. And he said, I was meeting with some of my friends the other day. And I just realized that some of my best childhood memories are when I used to visit your farm in Athens, Georgia, and ride go-carts with your son, Chris. And he said, I tell them at the time, I just realized, you can't make old friends. You either have them or you don't. So the next day I was in New York with Don Schlitz. He was getting inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

And I told him that story and he said, oh, please let me have a chance at writing this song. And he said, I'll write it for you and Dolly. I said, okay. And the next day, he sent me an email with that song on it. And I just went, wow, how cool is that? Let's listen to just a little bit of here. Because I'm going to play the whole thing in a minute, but I want to listen to it with you. Yeah, look at this.

How often do you and Dolly talk like normal when you're not working? Every year, just like clock. No, it's funny. That's the great thing about our relationship is that we don't have to do that. I can go three years without talking to her. And first of all, you have to know. And this is the honest to God truth. I'm a little bit ashamed of this or embarrassed by this.

I don't know Dolly's phone number. I don't know how to – Dolly faxes. She does an email. So you guys don't text each other. No, she doesn't, I don't, she doesn't like me, I don't think. No, but it's so cute because she'll send me something in a fax. And I say, Dolly, nobody faxes anymore.

And so I said, I just want you to know, I think you really sang great. That's not the expression I used, but I said, I think you really sang great on old friends, and I'm very proud of that. And I said, I would have called you and told you this, or I would have emailed you and told you, but I don't know how to reach you. And she sent me back a fax. It said, it got to me and thanks for her in comments. And of facts.

That's funny. I think that what happens is Dolly and I have to be very careful. Because I think if she, whatever she asks me to do, she knows I'm going to do it. And I think whatever I ask her to do, she'll do it. And I think you have to be careful that you don't abuse that relationship and that friendship. But we are truly, I'm telling you, when she walked into that room to sing that song, first of all, I have worked with her for 30-something years. I've never seen her without full makeup and just dress like Dolly. I mean, she is Dolly.

And when she came in, it was like we had been together all day the day before. So it's so comfortable. And that's what really makes a good relationship. She knows me. She knows what I'm thinking, what I'm trying to accomplish on the song. And she sounds great on anything she sings. And we both talked about we didn't care whether it was a hit song or not. We wanted to have our relationship documented like that.

So Dolly says, Kenny, I want to tell you right now, I could never sing at your funeral. I said, so you're assuming I'm going first. Kenny Rogers in the studio now. So your career, I guess, has spanned over six decades, just doing the math here. Which decade to you, if you were to look back and say, you know, the 70s, the 80s? Which to you was like your decade? Different reasons. You know, the 60s was fun because it was the 60s, you know, and just dropped in to see what condition

my condition was in, was kind of a trendsetter for songs. And I loved the spirit of the music in the 60s. And, you know, I'd been with the new Christian menstruals and I'd learned to sing folk songs that had social comment. And that's where I think what developed my desire as a contemporary artist to do songs like Ruben James about a black man who raised a white child. Ruby, don't take care of love to town, was about a Vietnam War vet who came home. Coward of the County is about a rape.

You know, people are out there saying, they're like, it's a coward, and they go, oh, this is about a right. Probably shouldn't sing so loud. But it's just that that period has a totally different complexion. The 80s is the peak of my success. That's when Lucille was released and everything kind of broke open after that. So you can't not enjoy that. When were you the wildest?

What decade? The 60s. Incidentally, he said that was his most fun decade. Wow. And believe it or not, I wasn't wild compared to everyone else I knew. But for me, I was wild, you know. If TMZ would have been around in the 60s, like TMZ is now and they chronicle everything, they're all over the place, taking pictures of everything.

What would they have had you, who would you be hanging out with? What would they have had you doing? Well, first of all, I think I started the Inquirer. I think they built their bones on me. Oh, they were everywhere I went. They had pictures of me. I'm so glad I'm not out there today. because, you know, the trick is

the photographers get more money the worse the picture is. So there's no way to get anything flattering out of it. But what would they have had on me? When, in the 60s? Yeah, like, who would you have been with? And, you know, you had a picture of Kenny and who.

And they'd been like, uh-oh, your PR person's got to stop this from getting out on Twitter. Well, everybody swore that Dolly and I were having an affair. And it's not true. We just flirted with each other for 30 years, you know. And I think that's where the chemistry came from. But, I mean, there were some photographic availabilities during the 60s. I'll say that.

But not anybody that anyone would know. You know, that's never been my deal. You ever in love with Dolly? I'm always been in love with Dolly in a very safe place, you know. And I think she feels it's hard to really know her and not love her because, you know, she's the most unpretentious person I've ever met. I've said it before, and I'm not sure she likes it when I say this. She has no filter.

If it goes through her mind, it comes out her mouth. And she can say things to people. No one else can say. And somehow it's a compliment. I mean, you just go, oh, thank you. But she's just always been that way. She's always been very straightforward. And people say, as Dolly is sweet in person as she is.

And I always tell them, if you like her on TV, you will love her in person because she's that and more. Kenny Rogers in the studio now. What's your favorite picture? that you have of you of me yeah when i was 19 i was at galveston texas which is the beach and i'm leaning against a 57 Chevrolet in a i don't know what they were called in but it's like a real brief bathing suit and i was real thin at the time so i love that but it's just it's just the history behind that picture when i see myself at that age and i'm drinking a coke you know that's how bad i was man I was off the charts.

But it was, I loved, you know, I came from the projects in Houston. I was born and raised in the projects, and we had nothing, you know. But I managed to pull myself up and then do some things. And by the time I was 19, I was in a jazz group.

I played Upright Basin saying, Avali Garde jazz for 10 years. And I think it was a great foundation musically for me. And it's just been one thing. after another. That's why the autobiography's called luck or something like it. I think I was lucky to be in point A to then move to point B, to be able to get to point C, to then come to Nashville to meet Larry Butler. And Larry Butler is really the guy that's the anchor behind this career. What song gets requested most to you? I think that hands down the gambler. I think it, you know, because I think there's so many,

we did five movies of the week. And I think there's such a. captured with that. And it's such an easy song to sing. And I think everybody loves the philosophy. You know, Don Schlitz is not a gambler, nor my. I found out a long time ago, I can't win enough to excite me, but I can lose enough to depress me. So I just stay away from it. But that song is by far the most requested. If you could tell yourself back at 16, 17 years old in the project's one thing, give yourself a piece of advice now to then. What would you tell yourself? pay your taxes as you go, put 20% aside. That's what I, I don't want to say who it was,

but I watched someone on television the other day, and they said they had 14 buses. I guarantee you they're going to be broke. I can guarantee you they're going to be broke. Did you ever watch like cribs on MTV whenever they would go to like these ravers houses or athletes and it would just be humongous with cars? And you've got to think, okay, you're getting bad advice, right? I've been through that.

I mean, I did all, I made all those mistakes. I've had a great life. I can't deny it. And I don't know that I don't know that. regret it. I think that having come from where I came from, and I think that's what happens. I saw a thing on television that said the average NFL football player is in bankruptcy two years after he retires. It's because you have so much hype you have to live up to to get yourself on top personally as well as physically that you have to have the cars, you have to have the

bling, you have to have all this other stuff. And it's the same thing with country artists. It's not the bling, but it's, you know, you've got to have all the buses, you've got to have all the crew, you got to have all the staging. And it's not wrong, it's just a bad choice, you know. Speaking of bling, what's the most bling you have? Have now? Yeah. Nine-year-old twins. Yeah. Don't I look older, the more you think about it. Wow. So that's crazy. That's like, it is. Chasing them around?

Yeah, well, I don't chase them anymore. They know they can outrun me, so I don't, we don't get into that fight. But they're identical twins. And it's the coolest thing. I'll tell you, they say that at my age, having kids makes your or breaks you, and right now I'm leaning heavily toward break. Do they know how cool you are? Well, I know they know how to use it. Right.

That means anything because I'll hear Justin say to his friends, my dad's very famous, you know. Last year at New Year's Eve, we went on a Disney cruise on the cruise boat. And we go over to this island, Disney Island. And so we're coming back to get in line. And there's 200 people in front of us, and I'm standing in line and we're going along. And Jordan says, hey, dad, I thought we were supposed to be VIPs. Oh, God.

I mean, they can play that. I don't think they really grasp it. But they come on stage with me when they're out. And Jordan will come up and he'll take my microphone. He'll go interview the guy in the front row. Hey, what's your name? You know, and they see me do it. So it's kind of cool, you know.

Kenny Rogers here on the Bobby Bone. show. If I ask you how many albums you've sold in your life, do you know? 120 million. 165 million? I'll go with your number. Yeah, that's what... Sounds better. That's what we just told to us.

Let's say 200 million. 500 million? Yeah, that's it. Most of anybody in the world. Ever? Ever, ever. Okay, so if I were to say how much money is in your checking account, would you know that answer?

Yeah, but I'm not going to tell you. I thought maybe you just spit that out there too. 20 bucks. So what do you carry cash in your wallet then when you're walking around? What's Kenny Rogers walking around money? You know, I carry, believe it or not, I carry about $1,500 because I know it's crazy. But I may need to get my car washed, you know. True.

What do you drive right now? What's your main car? Mine, I have a Lexus, a 1970, no, what am I saying? A 2012 Lexus. That's a big difference, Kenny, in a 1970 and a 2012. Not to me. They're all the same. I don't think Lexus was around in 1970.

Well, we're all huge fans. Oh, that's so nice. It's been so cool to talk to you, and we're going to play the song now. And again, I just honestly saw it on YouTube. I mean, that's where I saw old friends to me was like, hey, I know you like Kenny. I know you like Dolly, so I watched it on YouTube. And I wasn't told to play it on the air or anything. And I was like, you guys have to hear this because the song is so good.

And I played it. And I'm telling you the reaction of the people of all ages. You know, from all the generations, it's been, wow, this song is so good. And yet still so, like, emotionally touching and nostalgic. all combined in one. So I'm just such a big fan of the song. And I appreciate that more than you know. That was the whole idea. You know, it's not whether you've worked together, but I mean, my wife, for instance, called all of her girlfriends from college and said, I just want to say hello to you. I haven't talked to you in a while.

So it's kind of helped reestablish old friendships. And I think that's a great purpose in life. Whether it'll be played on the radio, honestly, I know this sounds terrible. I don't care. What I wanted from Dolly was to be able to document our relationship as to what it really is. And if it's played, it's played. It's a bonus. But there's a lot of good stuff on there that could be played on the radio. But, you know, there's only two ways I can compete. I can do what everybody else is doing and do it better, and I don't like my chances of doing that. Or I can do something nobody else is doing, and you don't invite comparison. So I think that's always been my box, because look at the greatest. No one did anything like the greatest. Buy me a

rose. No one had done anything like that. I can't unlove you. So I've always kind of been outside the because I can't do the things Keith Urban does or Taylor Swift or those guys. And so I just have to do what I do. You know, I want to ask you, because you were on the original We Are the World, right? Like, back in the day, what was Michael Jackson like? Like, really? Well, Michael became good friends of mine. And it's a tragic story.

It's like Elvis. You know, it's a tragic story when you can't live your life. You can't – I used to go backstage to Elvis when we were working at the Hilton Hotel. We were in the lounge and he was in the main room and I'd go watch his show and he'd say, come on back after the show. And I only went to see his show because he'd introduced me as his friend, which I thought was my show. I'd go backstage and talk to him and I'd say, you know, I'm not a hanger on her. I spend a certain amount of time, then I go.

And I said, I'm going to go out and play some blackjack. He said, you have no idea how much I'd love to go out and sit out at the table and play blackjack with you. And I said, well, come on, let's go. And he said, I think that they had him convinced that he would get hurt. And in all fairness and retrospect, he probably would have. I think people would have clamored over him so much that he couldn't do it. But it's the same thing with Michael Jackson. When I took his picture in my book, I did a book called Your Friends and Mine,

as Elizabeth Taylor on the front, Michael Jackson, three presidents, the United States. And I told everybody, I said, you'll be here 15 minutes. I'll do two black and white, two color, and you'll be out. Michael brought bubbles, chimpanzee, stayed eight hours. because he didn't have anything else to do. He was safe and he and I became really close friends. And I love those moments with people, you know, where you can get a chance to break down what you've heard

and find out what's really true. Did you feel like you were able to watch these guys, you know, at their highest of high and then kind of lose touch with them as they kind of spiral out of control for both of them, both Elvis and Michael? Yeah, I mean, I'm not in a position, no matter how, close friends I thought I was. I'm not in a position to, hey, slow down. That's not my role. My role was how are you doing? What's going on in your life? And they told me, they told me.

If they didn't, they didn't. But you hate it. It's like I look at Lindsay Lohan out there. And I just see people that, you know, what happens is the big fear in this business is not being recognized. And I think that's what everybody, look at Miley Cyrus, what she's doing now. Is it going to work? It's going to get her some press. And in L.A., any press, any press, is good press. They're talking about you. Not for me. I don't need that kind of stuff. And I think it's a sad mistake. And I think people have to be careful. You have to live with the thing, more so now than ever before. Anything you do now is going to be around forever. So it's just dangerous. I wish I could have helped both of them. Anyone ever reach out to you and say,

hey, can I get some advice? My ex-wife. Yeah. Not advice. Yeah, right? Just reach a number or something Can I get some more money? She took everything I had. What more did she want? Kenny, it's been an honor. Hey, thank you so much because I heard about what you did yesterday, and I think that was really special. And I'm sorry, I didn't get a chance to talk to you guys and say something.

This kid walks back to me and he says, hey, Kenny, I'm Ryan King. I'm William King of the Commodore's son. And he said, a few months ago, I was sitting talking to all my friends.

And I realized that some of my favorite childhood memories are when we would go to your place in Athens. And I'd ride the golf cart and the go carts with your son, Chris. And he said, I was telling him at the time, you know, you can't make old friends. And I thought, wow, what a great song. When I told Don, he wanted to write it. But they said, we want to give, they wanted to give me a third of it. And I said, don't give it to me. Give it to Ryan.

I was just watching some of the news conference during the break. The U.S. Surgeon General Warren this week it's going to get bad. That's his quote, as hospitals struggle to keep up with these sharply increasing coronavirus cases. I mean, that's really what it is. I see people on Facebook having all their uneducated opinions. It's just about our health care system and our hospitals not being able to keep, have enough beds and spaces.

And again, if the hospitals are full of people with coronavirus and then people come in for car wrecks or anything else, they can't get in. So, you know, as everyone debates, I was watching one of my knucklehead friends talk about his thoughts on the economy versus the virus. And I'm like, dude, you work at a bank. Like, you're not an expert in economy or infectious diseases. So, man, everybody on Facebook, they see something. You just copy and paste it like it's their own new original idea that is absolutely right. And then other people take it.

And then I just unfollow people. immediately. If someone makes me feel weird in any way or I'm like, man, I don't like, I just unfollow them because I don't need that in my space. So, and I'm not even on Facebook that often, but it's like every time I do, I get reminded why I don't get on Facebook that often. But anyways, stay in your house. If you can, stay in your house. This two shall pass. I did see where all of our radio stations are playing the national anthem at noon. Like as a corporate mandate, all IHart radio stations are playing the national. Anthem at noon. That's the kind of mandate I can sign up for. Amy, how was your weekend?

It was really good. I mean, very quiet and calm. My family was gone. They're still gone. We're still trying to figure out their travel schedule, but yeah, it was really good. How about you? It's pretty good. I mean, I think the big surprise was Caitlin brought a basketball hoop, like a whole goal back home. She said it was on sale and I have to set up a goal in the like backyard. somewhere. She loved basketball. She... Oh, y'all have, like, all the sports. She texted me asking,

you know, if, since she knew I was alone, she's like, if you want to come over and play laser tag, I have that too. Oh, yeah, she got a laser tag set. Eddie, did she text you about the basketball goal? She did. She took a picture of it and she said, do you think Bobby would like this or do you think he'd kill me if I brought it home? I'm like, no, I think

you would love it. Well, it's humongous. She dragged this big box out of the back of the truck. and was like, hey, it was raining. And it's raining right now, as a matter of fact. And she's like, hey, we have this big goal. We should go set it up and play. So we haven't set it up yet.

But that happened this weekend. And just watched a bunch of stuff. Again, watch that Tiger King show, watched the Pioneer Woman on Food Network, watched a lot of the news, just trying to keep up with everything, listen to a bunch of podcasts. We did a movie review up on Instagram,

and watched American Idol last night. And so that's on. And it's on again tonight, too, if you guys want to check it out. so American Idol's over there as well. At Mr. Bobby Bones. Eddie's birthday was this weekend. Eddie, your birthday was good?

There's a great one actually, man. For what we're going through right now, I had a blast. I saw a pizza in your lap. I mean, that's all I need, really. So I got two big pan pizzas and I was good to go. And when it comes to pizzas and Eddie's like me, I love a Pizza Hut pizza. And I haven't had one in a long time,

but I love a Pizza Hut pizza. It's time for the good news. With producer Eddie. This toilet paper shortage in grocery stores is a real thing. And so there's a guy in California. His name is Johnny Blue. He says, you know what? I have an idea for this.

So what he did is he got a poster board and he wrote down, share your toilet paper. And he stands on the side of the road asking people to donate a couple of rolls of paper if they have some in their car. And in return, if somebody needs a roll of toilet paper or two, he gives them to them as well. So it's kind of like a makeshift paper exchange there on the side of the road. I can see

Lunchbox doing that bit where he puts a disguise on and goes over and over to get like as many free sonic slushes as he can to this guy, drive around Hey man, let me get that toilet paper. And then at the end of the day you just have like 40 rolls.

And then he puts on a mustache like, hey, my, let me get that toilet paper. And that's what he does. All right, listen, good for him. Toll paper's tough. Was it the grocery store over the weekend? Still nothing. So good for him.

That's awesome. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Let's see. Time for Bobby and Eddie's Music School. Here we go. Kenny Rogers passed away over the weekend, and so I want to talk about Kenny Rogers for a second and why he went by Kenny instead of Kenneth.

So Kenny Rogers had his first gold single at age 20 with a song called That Crazy Feeling under the name Kenneth Rogers. That's Kenneth Rogers. How crazy is that? Turn that up again. But then, early on in his career, Kenneth Rogers was advised by a television talk show host Larry Kane that he should go by Kenny. Now, at that time, Kenneth did not like the idea until Larry introduced him by his new moniker on the show and the girls went wild. Kenny said afterward, well, I could live with that. Also, Kenny was also a jazz bassist and a hippie rocker before he went country.

You know, long before he recorded the country hits that he's known for, he started in music playing stand-up bass in a jazz group, which was called the Bobby Doyle trio in the early 1960s. After they disbanded in 1965, he grew out his hair, pierced his ear, wore pink sunglasses, and was the front man for the rock and roll group The First Edition. And here is a clip of Kenny Rogers and the first edition just dropped in. I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in. How crazy is that? So Kenny Rogers was one of the guys that back in the day, people were going, that ain't country. He came from pop.

That ain't country. He came from a jazz band. So everything that's happening now, as you can see as I try to prove over and over again, is what's been happening for the entire history of music and art, for that matter. So my lesson in music school today is Kenneth Rogers to Keneth Rogers to Kenney. Kenny and Kenny's musical background before he went over and became a country superstar. That's my lesson about Kenny Rogers. Eddie, what's your lesson this morning? So before Garth Brooks, you know, was a big, big superstar, he sold cowboy boots for a living. That's what he did. And one of his coworkers, his name was Ken Melons. He's an artist from the 90s too now, but he looks back at the time. He says, in between customers, when they came into the store, Garth would write songs. And in between customers, one day, Garth Brooks wrote the top five song, Not Counting You.

I also said, you know, he's the co-worker. He said, man, one day he gave me his business card, and I still have it today. And he thought it was pretty cool that one day he was driving down the road. And this was years after Garth left, he's like, man, there he is on the radio right now, a big superstar. and we used to work at a cowboy boot store together. There you go. And I hope you learned something today. Close that up, Ray Moondo.

Class dismissed. That was Bobby and Eddie's music school. You probably spent a lot of time at home over the weekend like we did. And I watched a bunch of stuff. I watched Tiger King on Netflix, the first episode. I watched Pioneer Woman. I watched American Idol last night. By the way, American Idol will be on again tonight, too.

So I watched a bunch of shows. And it's hard for me to even binge watch a TV show. But I'm watching Morgan No. 2's Instagram. story and she binge-watched movies. Morgan, how many Star Wars movies did you watch? Oh, I think it's nine total, I want to say. You watched nine movies in what period of time? Yeah, I started it Friday afternoon and I finished it last night. Well, it's Sunday night. I've never binge-watched movies. So you had never seen Star Wars, which I haven't either, but what is your takeaway from watching nine Star Wars movies? Oh, well, it was a lot of

information to take in honestly, but the first few movies were kind of hard to watch because those are like 40 years old now. So like the after effects or I guess the technology of it was so bad. But I'm glad I watch them because now I get all like the pop culture references. But I definitely like the new ones a lot and I cried in the last one. Are you glad you watch all of them? Yeah, no, I'm really glad because now I get things and now I can, of over Yoda and Baby Yoda like everybody else does. And now I know why people don't like Darth Vader.

So now I understand a lot more things. So I'm really glad I watched them. But honestly, that many movies and how long each one of them were, it was a lot to take in. It was funny to watch her just be fatigued from watching movies because you could see it in her Instagram story. Like movie four, she was still looking pretty fresh. About movie seven, she was starting to hurt a little bit.

But then after the last one, Hey, how'd you feel about the last one without spoilers? Because people were kind of torn on if it was good or not. What'd you think of that one? I mean, I liked it a lot. Again, I liked all the newer ones because they were better technology and they were closer to kind of my age, I guess you could say. But I cried in the last one.

Like, I really liked it. I liked it as much, you know, I binge-watched the Marvel movies. I liked it as much as I liked Avengers endgame. So I think they concluded everything really well. And I think it came down. together great. So I have no complaints about the last one. Over the weekend, she watched nine Star Wars movies. That's a feat. That's amazing. Amy, I saw where you and your dad finally got to talk. Yeah, got him set up with his Amazon show. It took like the manager of his assisted living place

going to his room and helping him figure it out and then, you know, me on the phone with him. But finally got it working and he just stayed on video with me for a long time. So I I highly recommend Amazon show or Echo or whatever it's called. It was awesome. So what do you guys do? Just basically FaceTime. You can just leave it on. Yeah, you just leave it on. Like he sits on the counter and it's good for him because when he uses FaceTime on his phone, he doesn't really know how to put it at his face and it's hard for him to hold it. And most of the time I'm looking at the ceiling. But this just sits on his counter. And then for me, too, like I can continue doing whatever I need to be there with me. I mean, the biggest thing is he feels isolated and loving. only, but when he's got me on video and I've got him there, yeah, we kind of just sat there and did our thing and like watch TV, watch the news, like on the computer, you know, he was just there. But then I, that was the day, like the one day I had Wi-Fi. So now I'm back to no Wi-Fi, so he's already missing me. He's like, when are we going to hang out again?

I'm like, I don't know. And then you don't give him any more. I know, so hopefully you get that back soon. But it's definitely, I ordered one for my sister and sent it to her so that way he can do the same thing with her and her kids. Like if he's done hanging out with me, he can just call and hang out with her. Did you just stay in the house the whole weekend? Pretty much. I went on a long walk yesterday, which was awesome. Ran into lunchbox.

He was out walking. We made sure to stay six feet apart and our dogs too because I was like, oh, you know, I don't want. I've heard that with dogs it can spread too. So yeah, went to the park. But lunchbox were you? I was kind of shocked to see how many people were. Hold on, hold on. What did you hear about dogs?

Hold on, hold on. What did you hear about dogs in it spreading? Oh, well, Bobby, you're the Corona expert. So I guess I should ask you, have you heard that it can like get on a dog and then if the dog touches you, then it can spread through a dog? No, not really.

I mean, I've heard that it could live on the fur. I could live on anything. Yeah. But I haven't heard anything about a dog transmission. Yeah, yeah. Not that the dogs like carry it, but it can like be a carrier, just like a box. Like if you get packages in the mail,

you should wipe it down because if you touch the package. Like, at least that's what I've heard. So I'm just, yeah, I'm not trying to spread false information, but I was trying to stay away from every human and every dog. And some people were not aware of spreading out. And I saw people playing basketball and tennis, like in groups. And I was like, what are you doing? Well, some people just don't care.

right? They feel like if it doesn't affect them personally right now that it's not real. And it's a very selfish way to feel and to live. To go, well, if it's not on me right now personally, I'm just, I'm good. I'm just going to live and continue life. I did see where a lot of spring breakers are getting coronavirus. You know, we played those clips last week. And a lot of people are coming back from spring break with coronavirus because that's where everybody's just so close.

And that's where they were just killing it on the beach. So, yeah, I just don't want people to take. hear the show and go, oh, animal spread coronavirus. Like, I want to be careful of what we say. I agree. But I had something I wanted to ask you about if you had heard it. But that's just something I was aware of at the park, like trying to keep away from humans and dogs.

But be nice and wave and say hi. But I was shocked at how many people weren't trying to keep their distance from me. Like one guy almost like, I almost had to like go over this little fence thingy and hurt myself to get away from him. I just was like trying to just be respectful. but some people are just la la la, la, continuing with their normal lives. Well, the trouble is this was politicized early

and now some people just don't believe it even now. Oh, man. So when this started to happen and be coronavirus, and, you know, it was turned into something political more than it was something medical. And so some people just don't believe it's a real thing at this point even today. And some people are just selfish too.

I think the most important thing that you've said, and that I have leaned into is the only people we should be listening to right now are doctors and scientists. And so that's what I'm doing. And I tell you, because I watch all of these press conferences too from a lot of these governors and president and vice president, the one person who does a really strong press conference with leadership and data and I never met him and I don't live in New York is Governor Cuomo.

Like the guy is money when he talks. He knows the even. answered every question. He's calm. He's collected. He has, he's got a freaking PowerPoint that he's up there walking through with everyone. Like, I'll watch that guy and I tweeted about him. Like, that guy just emits leadership. And I also saw that a lot of women in New York, like, like, watching Tim talk, not only does he know what he's talking about, but apparently he's very handsome and single, maybe. I mean, he's okay. Let's relax a little bit. No, no. I saw girls on, maybe they're just cooped up at their house, but they're very into their governor.

Well, I think, too, he's such a leader. He's so strong. He knows exactly what he's saying when he's saying it. And he's also going, you know what? I may not be right about everything, but this is the direction we're going and we're not coming off this direction until otherwise. You know, a good leader does that. So, yeah, I did Google if he's single or not, though, because Caitlin and I were watching

and she was like, is he single? Because he didn't have a wedding ring on. And I guess he just broke up with his girlfriend like a few months ago who was like some famous chef. I didn't know who she was. But anyway, I hope everybody's good. I hope you guys are washing your hands, staying away from people, being socially responsible, and just hanging in there. We're going to hang in there with you, obviously. You know, we're going to come out of the other side of this and we're going to look back and go, man, how crazy was that? But we got through it. Like, that's what's going to happen. So we just appreciate you guys. We're going to be here with
