Starting point is 00:00:35 The Disneyland resort is everything. We came to play, the Calliway. It felt like I was in the round-up game with Woody at Pixar Pier. Have you been holding out on us? No, just showing you where the real Hollywood stars are. Like Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Oh, there's jazz, right?
Starting point is 00:00:50 And a drop. You'll see. Grab a Mickey Brussels on the way. Girl, you'll read in my mind. We're almost there. Disney California Adventure Park and Disneyland Park. We came to play. Both part tickets and reservations require subject to restrictions change and cancellation without notice.
Starting point is 00:01:03 Visit Disneyland.com for details. And now for a bit of breaking news between your breaking news. With me, the Geico Gecko. Here are some things you ought to know today. People who switch their car insurance to Geico save about $900 a year. Experts are calling that nice to know. Also, plants can hear when bees buzz. My phycus just heard that.
Starting point is 00:01:24 And finally, animal experts have confirmed that goats have regional accents. I'm getting a hint of Irish that. It feels good to get good news. It feels good to Geico. Spring is in the air, and a leaf's long-lasting pain relief is here to keep you moving. The days are longer. The flowers are blooming. The Bobby Bones post show pre-show. We just finished Thursday's show. You'll hear it coming up. You are how far into Trinople?
Starting point is 00:02:15 Episode four. Of six. Those are six? I don't know how many are left. Like one or two are left. And episode four made me actually cry. It was heavy. Like that was hard. And it's so, it's like still bizarre to me. My husband and I were sitting there like, God, we can't believe we were alive when this happened. I know. And then I'm not shocked they did this, but just how they tried to portray it to the rest of the world that like, eh, got this into control.
Starting point is 00:02:41 It ain't no thing. Like, everything's going to be fine. And it's just like not fine. And the things that they were having to do because it was not fine, like, to animals and stuff. Like, that's what made me cry. I mean, they just had to go on and kill every animal because they may have had radiation them. Yeah. And Chernobyl's big nuclear disaster in the 80s that happened.
Starting point is 00:02:59 And you say you can't believe it. That's probably happening right now. Like the government probably knows stuff and they're not letting us know. Oh yes, yes. Yeah. Maybe not to the extent of Trinople. Right. But if you don't think we're not being told everything on cell phone radiation.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Right. Or how much the government's watching everything we're doing all the time. People hacking into our computers, watching through holes, listening on phones, Amazon, listening on our device, all that's happening. Yeah. But I mean, if I'm ever milking my cow and you come up and just shoot it, I'm be mad. That almost shoot you if you're mad. Well, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:28 That's the thing, too. Like, you just, I mean, people were just having to leave their lives. wild. The animal thing. Mike, when you pull the rotten tomatoes on Chernobyl? But it's a great show
Starting point is 00:03:38 and it's like your learning history. That was all happening while we were alive? 1986-ish. Wow. Yeah, dude. The whole world almost ended. Gorbachev was...
Starting point is 00:03:48 Mikhail Gorbachev. Yeah. I don't remember that. Oh, and so also to another crazy aspect that just like sneaks in on you during the episodes because the Chernobyl, the whole nuclear disaster
Starting point is 00:03:59 is crazy enough, but then you learn little things about the KBG. And you're like, that's so crazy. Yeah. That, like, I mean, they would just follow people, spy. The KGB?
Starting point is 00:04:10 So what you said? Yeah. No, she said KBG. I thought so. And I started going KB. I mixed things up sometimes. Yeah, the KGB. KGB.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Kelsey Ballerini gang. Do you know the KBG knock knock joke? Bones. Huh? Is this appropriate? KGB, knock, knock joke, huh? KGB? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:29 What? I'm not going to show you. Knock, knock, Yeah, it's a knock, knock. It's from the office, and he goes, knock, knock. Who's there? The KGB. And then before you can answer, he slaps and goes, the KGB waits for no one?
Starting point is 00:04:39 Yeah. No. I was going to do that to you right now, but I decided probably not. It was crazy. And so this, again, this will still make you want to watch it without giving too much away. But there was people that wanted to do the right thing and, like, had all the information, like scientists that really knew the research and, like, what was happening to people. And the KGB was, like, arresting them for, like, trying to figure out the truth because they didn't want it to get out.
Starting point is 00:05:02 It's like, golly. It is a mini-series. It's 98% positive audience score, 96% critics. It's really one of the highest-rated shows. I'm looking at some of these other shows that are 100%. These all aren't new, and some of them have moved networks, but Brooklyn 9-9 is 100%. You watch that, right?
Starting point is 00:05:21 I do sometimes. I really should watch it more. I watch it on the plane from Seattle to Atlanta to Nashville because they only have like six shows and then one season of 60% and I watched a whole Brooklyn-9 season. It's really fun. better things anyone know what that is
Starting point is 00:05:36 Flea bag I watch that on Amazon it's dirty that's funny I don't recommend it out loud because it's pretty vulgar Amy you would not be into it
Starting point is 00:05:46 noted but it's super funny Barry don't know what that is documentary now I see the previews for that on Netflix where they're like doing a fake documentaries on things but those are all 100%
Starting point is 00:05:57 yeah there you go Veep. Lunchbox, you're watching Veep? Finished it. It's good. 96% positive. Really good. It's so funny. These are just the highest. The OA season 2 is at 92%. I never got into that.
Starting point is 00:06:11 Season 2. I watched part of one episode. So I'm glad you're watching Chernobyl because it's pretty fantastic. Pretty sad, pretty dark, but true. You know, I was reading this story about Sylvester Stallone where he says he doesn't own any part of the Rocky franchise after he created it. Oh, really? And now that's the big thing to go, oh, they created it. How come they don't own it?
Starting point is 00:06:29 Guys, that's not how it works. Sometimes you create something inside of a contract where they go, okay, this is a contract, we're going to sign. Anything you create is ours. We're going to pay you to create it. And sometimes you sell it. Sometimes you go, like the original owners of, you can pick any business ever, the people that created Sonic.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Sure. They may have sold it. They may have went public with it. There are a lot of things. So when you hear this, and this is happening with music right now, where people are like, if I created it, I should own it. That's not how it works. It's usually that first deal that gets you because you're so anxious to get in and you're like, all right, well, whatever.
Starting point is 00:07:04 As long as I get the ball rolling, I'm doing it. I'm the McDonald's brothers. It's sort of like that, how that ended up going for them, the very first one. And then they just ended up getting like pushed to the side because they didn't realize certain times what was being signed. And it's not that anyone's really getting screwed over. It's just I don't own like all of these shows that we do. I don't own them. I've created them.
Starting point is 00:07:26 I don't own them because I signed a deal with. IHartRadio that they pay me to do the shows, then they own the shows. They give me in an environment where I can create and they make it as creative, friendly as possible. And they let me hire people that help me create. But I don't own the tapes. So I think you said something that most people don't know. That Rocky, that Sylvester Stallone created Rocky. Oh, did I bury the headline? Well, no, I mean, you said that, but I don't think a lot of people know that. Like, That's pretty amazing that he created that. So Besters-Salone says he doesn't own 1% of Rocky.
Starting point is 00:08:03 It's given him a nice living, obviously. He admits to being very angry about the deal at one point. It was just before shooting Rocky 4. He went to the studio execs and pointed out that he'd written every word, choreographed it, been loyal, promoted and declined, but didn't have 1% to give my children. What they said was, hey, we paid you. That was a deal.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Like our contract said if you create it, we'll pay you to create it. For the record, there are over 100 merchandising licenses for Rocky. a mistake he attributes to being green in the business at the time. So he's not even saying he got screwed over. Yeah, he just didn't know. But again, just because you create something doesn't mean you always own it. Sometimes you create it under the umbrella of we're going to pay you to create something. And I wish that were the case.
Starting point is 00:08:46 I wish everything I owned. I don't own everything that I create. Later on, you start owning things later on because you understand how it works and you can negotiate a better deal. And you have money to buy it back. Sometimes. Sometimes, yeah. So I saw that about Rocky. I think that's just kind of a topical thing
Starting point is 00:09:03 because we're seeing that happen all over. People go, I created it, I should own it. No, not really. Because sometimes the people that are paying you also create an environment for you to create in that you wouldn't have had otherwise and maybe you wouldn't have created it. Bones, what would you say to people that, like, are creators now?
Starting point is 00:09:19 Because that's a hard pill to swallow. Like if you create music, you create art or whatever, once you sell it and once it becomes a business, people get really, I mean, I guess butt hurt about it. I think that there are two, I was talking to Dave Barnes yesterday, who I'm a big fan of musically, love Dave Barnes, he's a big songwriter in town.
Starting point is 00:09:37 He wrote, you right, God gave me, God gave me, yeah. And then Blake Shelton heard it and then recorded it. But big Dave Barnes guy, we've been friends for a while, and he's starting a podcast. And he came over, we just had a long talk. I guess we'd probably talk for an hour yesterday. And I have a podcast network that is a prophet, share. And so I was like, hey, man, you can do your podcast and you can put it out yourself
Starting point is 00:10:01 and you can really grind with it and start from scratch and you have a good audience. Or you can come out of the network where you have some built-in promotion. Yeah. Where the shows are promoting each other. We promote down on this show. I said the only difference is you don't own as much of it if you get on the network. And so you know that going into it. Like you can own all of it and do it yourself, but it's harder to make money at, or you can own, what's say, half of it, and get on the network where the company owns half and you own half, but you actually can make money faster, and you have a, so it's just a decision you have to make. There are all those decisions. It's like an artist. Some people don't sign record deals because they're like, I can sell
Starting point is 00:10:42 and make my own money. And I'd rather grind it out slowly, but then own it all. As opposed to people, you sign a record deal, they're like, okay, well, they're going to give me and they're going to pay for my record and they're going to give me promotion. So there really isn't a right answer. Now, because I can actually pay my mortgage, I own a lot more things. But early on, are you kidding me? I just need a shot. Like, you own everything.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Right. I'm just trying to. Just give me that shot. I just want to create. Like, you can own it. I don't know what I'm doing. You're going to actually pay me to create. This is amazing.
Starting point is 00:11:15 Sign me up. Yeah. So I think it just kind of falls into where you are as well. Like, if you can support yourself or not, it's where a lot of the decisions are made. but a lot of times when people get upset about, well, they don't own it because they don't create it. Again, you were able to create this awesome stuff because they were able to supplement your income
Starting point is 00:11:31 and you were able to quit your other job while they paid you. And they helped you get exposure. By the way, you can watch the first five Rocky movies on Netflix this August. Yeah, they helped you get exposure and that helped. That drove. So, yeah, all the Rockies will be on Netflix.
Starting point is 00:11:46 But there's not a right answer to that. My way wasn't right. It just isn't a right way. There are some people that come up in music I think Cody Johnson, who is basically an independent artist. He signed with Warner, but he owns a lot of that because he did it forever himself. And was like, yeah, I'll come, but I don't need you. Like we can work together, but I'm still owning this.
Starting point is 00:12:07 Yeah, I wonder if Bieber had that kind of power too since he was like nine. Because he was kind of self-made, right? YouTube style? Just YouTube. I would say no. I would say the answer to that is no. But what do I know? I don't know anything. That's the thing. Creating. Nobody knows anything. I give advice to people, they'll come and say, what do I do? Like, business advice. I'm like, here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:12:25 If anyone ever tells you they know what they're talking about, they're lying, because there is not anything finite to know in the creative space. In the business side, it gets a little different because you have people that work with numbers and money, and they're like, you know, but nobody knows. Artists will be like, what's the next song? Like, these program directors are telling me not, they don't, nobody knows anything. If you could predict every one of them right, if a radio programmer could predict every song right, or even 85% of them, they would be over,
Starting point is 00:12:51 a region of a country or over an entire United Continental, whatever that is. In creativity, there is no right or wrong. There's you've been right a little bit, but it just isn't, there's not a formula. Some people have a knack for it. I feel like you have a knack for things. But I never know, but I don't know.
Starting point is 00:13:10 I know you don't know. And I never claimed to know. I'm not saying you bad a thousand. I do, though. I'm pretty good. Did you like that analogy? Bad a thousand? The baseball analogy?
Starting point is 00:13:19 Yeah, what's up? What's up? Let's play finish the sentence. This is from the news. A rapper attacks his girlfriend with a blank. This is the headline of the news story. And I feel like I just stereotyped in my brain. Okay, but here you go.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Oh my gosh. Rapper accused of attacking girlfriend with blank. This is not good, Amy. Lunchbox? Steak. Oh, you're going funny. Amy? Oh, I was being serious.
Starting point is 00:13:50 What would you say? Uzi. An Uzi. Eddie? I was just going to go Microphone Okay Right
Starting point is 00:13:57 Both rapper like he Got it A rapper was accused of attacking A girlfriend with banana pudding Oh All wrong Young Droo Oh man I saw that new story
Starting point is 00:14:06 I know that's where you're going Oh I did see that story too Amy Yeah like oh now that you say He's not a big rapper is he No I know a young dro song You do Pull up Young Dro's music
Starting point is 00:14:16 And then show me what he's worth TMZ says Young Droo was arrested on July 5th for allegedly throwing a plate of banana pudding and his girlfriend during an argument. Come on, Drew. Officials told TMZ they've been arguing over money
Starting point is 00:14:28 and that's when the food started flying. Oh, man, don't be fron and dro. Do you think his friends are like, come on, oh wait, young dro, award-winning rapper. Oh, award-winning. I wonder what awards he's won. Like local?
Starting point is 00:14:43 Shoulder lean. Yeah, that's a big song. Let me see a shoulder lean. Yeah. Dang, even I know that one. I don't know that. Yeah, you do, Amy. Raymond, can you pull up?
Starting point is 00:14:51 Shoulder lean from Youngdrow. Is it not in there? And then when you dance, you're putting it in here. I got other ones, though. Okay, hit me with the other one. Young Drew. This is We in the City. Oh.
Starting point is 00:15:04 Banana pudding! In your face. Oh, there we go. Turn them up. There you go. The answer is banana pudding. Nobody got it. Speaking of food, they say that a great way to lose weight is to stop eating after 2 p.m.
Starting point is 00:15:38 Cool. So what do you do after 2 p.m. when you're hungry. Chill. He's like water Eddie dot CTFO dude Yeah Like
Starting point is 00:15:48 Gotcha But A new study at the University of Alabama At Birmingham found People only ate Between 8 a.m. And help them burn way
Starting point is 00:15:56 More fat Than people eating 3 meals a day Even though they're the same number of calories So you're actually not eating less That's just your body is Burning through it
Starting point is 00:16:04 So can you just eat A craplode Before two Like whatever you want? I don't Again if you're eating the same calories So I would say Crap load
Starting point is 00:16:11 probably isn't fair, but you could probably do all the meals that we're eating in between that. Yeah, but then you're going the rest of the day still burning things while you're going, going, going,
Starting point is 00:16:20 then you go to sleep and that's even more hours and you're burning, burning, burning, it's probably burn more. The people who stopped eating at 2 p.m. found themselves hungry less often.
Starting point is 00:16:28 I have a lot of friends at intermittent fast. Yeah. I've done it a little bit when I was doing fitness competitions. Shut up. Is that right? No.
Starting point is 00:16:38 I believe you. No, but it, I think it works. Sometimes it's just hard. Yeah, I think there's probably something to it too. Too many smart people are doing it. And it's working for them than it. But everybody's body is different. We're all genetically given different tools.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Yep. And that's why it's so hard sometimes to see people that are just super ripped and go, because I just can't get like that six to eight pack abs. I'm just skinny. I can't. And I work as hard as anybody I know working out. Eight, who has that? Oh, they go down.
Starting point is 00:17:09 They're on. They're more down there. What's his name? Zach Massey? Ephron? Do you say Thoron? Theron? Zach Barron?
Starting point is 00:17:16 Zach Barron. Zach Veron? Thank you. I got to be Zach to my life. Zach Ephron. He's got like 11 abs. Right. I know.
Starting point is 00:17:23 I can't get that. I'm telling you, I'm at it all the time. I hate working out. Wait, phone's 11 abs. It's an odd number. So does it go down the one? He's got one in his neck, dude? He's got like 10.
Starting point is 00:17:32 You got an ab here. The right one hasn't developed. It just. Like I'm looking at them now. Let me see. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. He's got the side. one's 10.
Starting point is 00:17:42 And then the random one down. Yeah. Yeah, he's ripped. Yeah. We know who else ripped Walker A's. Mm-hmm. That dude's ripped too. Okay, into this story, the five most common face and body procedures for men.
Starting point is 00:17:59 A lot of dudes are getting things like Botox. Oh, is that on there? Well, what do you think? I feel like Botox for Men is becoming more common, but I'm thinking procedures, like maybe men go in for liposection, but they'll talk about it. Oh. And number five, on the five most common face and body procedures for men, Botox. Oh.
Starting point is 00:18:26 I've never had Botox. And I would tell you if I have any of this stuff. But, I mean, should I get Botox? Um, I mean, you're, like, guys, y'all have more, y'all can go with, you have a few more years I think, but I think eventually because you do so much TV, well, I know, I don't want it to come across the wrong way because no, you shouldn't.
Starting point is 00:18:49 But because you do TV stuff and you're out there, my face person thinks that you, she likes to like and do that to people. She loves altering. She works a lot of guys in town too, but she's like, oh, I just kind of want to take a little needle to Bobby's forehead. Just a little one.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Just a little. Forehead. Not rude. What on with his forehead? No, for TV. Rude. Okay, see, that's why I didn't want to say anything. It's not rude. Your forehead looks great. Thank you. I think you, right? So what does Botox do? Is that where your face doesn't move? He'll look younger on TV.
Starting point is 00:19:21 Does it make you like your face go up? What is this article you're giving me here, Mike? 35 celebrities who have admitted to plastic surgery? All right, number four is rude, Amy. My favorite thing's asking her question than getting mad at her answer. Right, and I'm like, and I was
Starting point is 00:19:39 stumbling because I really didn't want to say it. It's almost like you asked me to say. Number four, hair transplants. The five most common face and body. I mean, I would have thought that was a little more. I've not done that. I'm pretty good on the hair. Yeah, you're good.
Starting point is 00:19:54 You're going to be good for the rest of your life. Genetically, I got lucky on that one. Apparently, I don't have a good forehead, but. No, nobody said that. Okay. Hair transplants. Yeah. Good talk. Number three, facelifts.
Starting point is 00:20:06 Okay, so that's not Botox. That's like Sylvester Stallone. Jerry Jones. Actually, a new report says that more men are getting facelifts. They cost anywhere from $900 to $3,000. After procedures, guys appear more trustworthy and their faces are more symmetrical. Experts say there's nothing wrong with a facelift. They're totally safe and really do smooth out the face and trim off the age marks.
Starting point is 00:20:27 What are they doing, though? Tightening. Like, I think they cut it and they pull it back. And then they stow it back together. Staple it or something? Staple it. But $900? Like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:38 No, that's behind the waffle house. You get it in Mexico over that. I'm like, hmm, I'm going to question my surgeon, maybe. Number two is liposuction. Oh, that's my guess. I would totally be down with that if, like, Kanye's mom didn't die. Yeah. But she went to another country.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Yeah, she went out of the U.S. Which, why? Was she just already over there and just decided to get it done, or did she go there to get it done? I don't know. Where would you get the lipos done, bones? Like, my love handles. Yeah. I just, and I had surgery all the way down, like, around my scar?
Starting point is 00:21:12 But is that scar tissue? I don't know, but it just doesn't go away all the way. Yeah. I'm trying to be Zach Moore. Massey. Zach Morris. Zach Massey's our photographer. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:21:23 Yeah. You're doing a Zach draft. First overall pick could probably be Zach Morris. Morris. Then Ephron. Yeah. Zach's bees. Zach Brown.
Starting point is 00:21:31 Ooh, Zach Brown, solid answer. Galifanakis. Zach Galapacus. Zach Sprat could eat no fat. Oh, Zach Attack. Now that's Jack Sprat. That's Zach Morris. Zach Morris.
Starting point is 00:21:42 I feel like I'm out of Zax. Um, Zach, pro-Zac. Sure. That's one that counts. No rules. It's in it. Pro Zach.
Starting point is 00:21:53 Zach's in it. Did you say that already? Yeah, I did. Zachary Taylor Thomas. Oh. No, that's John the Taylor Thomas. Oh. Zachary Kinawa.
Starting point is 00:22:02 You know that from, speaking of, oh, but number one's nose jobs for men. Oh. Another Zach. They put out, Bear Girls put out the list of all the celebrities on the show. Mike, do we Google Bear Grills, Bobby Bones, and see, I wonder if they say where I went. If I can share that yet. Because, here you go.
Starting point is 00:22:23 These are all the people. Tell me if you know who these celebrities are on Bear Girls. Okay. Because it's a pretty solid list. Dave Battista. Baseball player? No. Guardians of the Galaxy.
Starting point is 00:22:36 The Big, and the Wrestler. You ever watch Guardians of the Galaxy? No. Avengers? No. Oh, you never seen the movie? movies. I mean, I have seen The Avengers, but I don't remember him.
Starting point is 00:22:44 It's the biggest movie of all time. He's the big guy. He's Drex. No, nothing. He's literally one of the people, the main people. One of the Avengers. Yes, he's literally one of the Guardians of the Galaxy. I just saw Endgame.
Starting point is 00:22:55 He's literally one of the Guardians of the Galaxy. I don't know. All right. Joel McKell? Basketball player. Oh my God, Eddie, you're out. I don't know who that is. Joe McKell did the Soup.
Starting point is 00:23:07 He also did Community on, and he has a, he hosts Card Sharks now. Okay. Channing Tatum. Yeah, no. Okay. Free Solo star Alex Honnold. Yeah, yeah, from the movie. The guy from Free Solo.
Starting point is 00:23:21 What did Channing Tatum have done? Amy, we've moved on to Bear Grills show. Amy, what on earth? This is the whole thing. Amy just goes to a different land. What did he have done? I was going to Google the Galaxy. We're on a different segment completely.
Starting point is 00:23:33 I went back to that. Because I'm still in my head feeling that about the Botox comment, which I didn't say, by the way. And now I remember already telling you that. So I really wish you would remember and not be offended because it wasn't me. It doesn't say Mike where I went, so I shouldn't say yet. These are celebrities on the Bear Grills.
Starting point is 00:23:48 I thought of celebrities. They released the list. Will you show Eddie who Dave Batista is? Yeah. Here, hold on. I'm going to pull you up, Mike. Brie Larson, Eddie. I know her?
Starting point is 00:23:57 Soccer player. Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel, yes. And she was in that movie Room, right? Let me see. Oh, yeah. I know. I know.
Starting point is 00:24:07 Bald guy. Yep. Him and Groot are best friends. Yes. Yeah, well, look at how he is in the movie. I mean, that's, I didn't know who that was. He just looks like a superhero. Yeah, in real life, though.
Starting point is 00:24:21 Yeah. How about do you know, let's see, Alex, do you know Army Hammer? No. Not the box of stuff you pull your refrigerator. The actor. Yeah. Army Hammer, he played both the Winklevoss twins in the social network. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:39 He also, and nobody, I don't think he even, it's all Lone Ranger. But I think he was. was like Lone Ranger and Lone Ranger. What else did he done? Yeah, he was in a big movie too recently. Yeah, I didn't see it, but call me about your name. I guess won, like, Oscars or something. He's one of them.
Starting point is 00:24:56 And then Rob Riggle. Oh, yeah, he's funny. Yes, he is funny. Did you know he was a Marine? No. Yeah, Rob Riggle was a Marine. And Rob Riggle, the comedian, does the sports stuff. And Zachary Kinto, that's what I was thinking about.
Starting point is 00:25:08 He was in Star Trek. He was Eddie Zachary Kinto. Amy's like, what do he have done? I was just, I'm about to Google and see if Channing Tatum has that. Oh, yes, I know him. Who? Jackary, Zachary, Kinto. Jackery Kinto.
Starting point is 00:25:23 And then finally, Kara, how do you say her name? Kara. Kera Knightley? Kara Amy's dog. Amy's dog, that's right. Kara de la Vigny. Do you know how to say her name, Mike? Oh, was she?
Starting point is 00:25:38 No, that's not the idol girl. No, no, no. she is in English I know her from Instagram I said she's an go back to her pera she's an English model singer and actress she's been in things like the Valerian suicide squad
Starting point is 00:25:56 I don't know I recognize her face but maybe she dates famous people I don't really know what she's done anyway that's the list of people they put up the promo yesterday and I'm in it for like one second oh really it's a lot of this Kara and some of Channing Tatum and like I'm the least famous one so briefly you see me
Starting point is 00:26:11 like in Marsh cutting an animal Oh, yeah. And I can't say much else about that. Yes, yes. I do know that story, though. But, yeah. Kind of crazy. Which crazy.
Starting point is 00:26:24 I'm looking at my grocery this year for today. I guess I need to put on some Botox on there. Got some broccoli. Just shut off about, sorry about the Botox. Wait, is that your grocery list? Almond butter. Yeah. Botox.
Starting point is 00:26:35 You can't buy it at the store. Cucumber. Nothing. No of mine. Botox. Botox. There you go. Is there anything else I have on the list I want to talk about?
Starting point is 00:26:45 I don't think so. I think that kind of clears the list today, things we got to. Are you good, by the way? Me? Yeah. Yeah. What times your blump ride?
Starting point is 00:26:57 Like one. Do you have to wear a harness or anything? I don't know. You just get in. I want to wear like a parachute in case. In case the blimp goes down? Case I need to jump out. We talk about that later.
Starting point is 00:27:09 Amy's going on the good year blimp today. Because I haven't read of any accidents with those things. With a blimp? I didn't want to Google. I was curious, but I was. I didn't want to Google like, yeah. You're good. Ever heard of the Hindenburg?
Starting point is 00:27:20 Oh, Bones, that was like the 20s. But then... That was crazy, though. They still have footage of that. That's crazy. Yeah, I don't know. There's always the... If it hasn't happened yet, there's that one time...
Starting point is 00:27:33 Thank you, Eddie. That it could happen, and it's going to be the time. Like, I'm like, well, if this is how I'm going, I guess... Like every golf tournament that I watch on TV, they have a blimp up there, so you're good. The Hindenburg disaster... Bones, come on. I occurred on May 6, 1937. In Manchester Township, New Jersey, United States.
Starting point is 00:27:51 The German passenger L ship, 1.29-Henberg caught fire, was destroyed during its attempt to dock with its mooring mass at Naval Air Station, Lakehurst. It happened in New Jersey. But it says, it was New Jersey. Yeah, it was a flight from Germany to America. America, and they were landing in New Jersey.
Starting point is 00:28:10 Yeah, Amy, this could happen to you today. Yeah. They fit 97 people in a blimp. 97. Probably white crash. 96. People don't go, they don't go in the
Starting point is 00:28:20 blimp part. They go on the very little bottom. Yeah, they don't get in the hot air balloon. That's where all the gases. Yeah. It's in like the little cup.
Starting point is 00:28:27 Yes. I mean, I heard the views are amazing. Well, you know anywhere high. It's going to be awesome to look down. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:34 Have been a hot air balloon? No. More experience in my life. Oh, me too, dude. It's terrible. Terrible. There is no rules
Starting point is 00:28:39 on where you go. So, Amy, basically, you release the hot air and the balloon goes up. And then to But is that harness to the ground? No. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:28:49 This is a lot. Yes. I thought it was like, you know, there was like, cords. So to direct the actual balloon, you put sandbags on one side of the basket, and that makes the balloon go that way. Oh, yeah, that's on the hot air. And then once you're in the air, you're like, all right, shut the hot air down, and we start floating downward, and then we kind of see where the wind takes us. Yeah, and you try to find a spot to land. And you control, you have a walkie-talkie or a cell phone, I guess you call the, you call the,
Starting point is 00:29:15 the guy that's picking you up in the truck, like, all right, well, looks like we're headed towards the farm over there on 64 and Farm Road 71. So. Yeah, it's crazy. And you're in a little basket, and it's all, you're just going, eh, I might like to die today. Yeah, it's nuts. Yeah, well, this might be the last time you all see me. I think the blimp has more control than that, though.
Starting point is 00:29:36 I tell you what, though, Amy, if you die in this today, before your funeral, I will get bowtimes. You'll look good. Oh, I don't look good? You look, no. Never mind. I retract. I erase from the record. Record not erased. Because it wasn't me saying it. Morgan number two, how's the chat room over there.
Starting point is 00:29:58 Everyone's talking about how you need bodocks. See, she doesn't stop. Just kidding. A caller today was like, you're so mean to Amy. No. I'm joking. Go ahead, Morgan number two. It's positive today. I haven't kicked anybody out today. Oh, good. She's like the bouncer. Come to her rope. I am. Now people are saying, please don't block me. That's right.
Starting point is 00:30:17 You scared them. All right. You can watch this whole thing on Facebook too. Around the room quickly before we get started with today's show. Amy, what would you like to say? Oh, today's Thursday. So I have a new Four Things podcast up. And my husband joins me for one of the things.
Starting point is 00:30:31 And I have an interview with Jeremy Cowart, who is like the most inspiring person I think I've ever interviewed. What's he do? He's a famous photographer, like celebrity photographer, but does so many philanthropic things with his gifts and talents. like he's taking some really crazy pictures and the stories behind them like they're you just have to listen to just you'll be inspired like I walked away and I was like okay well I'm doing nothing with my life like you're amazing he has so many ideas and I think after you listen to it you'll
Starting point is 00:30:58 believe like if you're if you have an idea and you want to go after it like maybe after listening to him you'll just go for it and that's the four things with amy brown yeah award winning podcast lunchbox I just want to make sure everybody wishes me a happy birthday reach out to me on social media and say happy birthday because it is my birthday today. That is true. It is. Happy birthday. Yep. Thank you. Eddie? I'll tweet you right now, lunch.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Just do something nice for someone today. Oh, is a good point. You know, maybe hold someone, hold the door open for someone at the store or someone sneezes. Tell them bless you. So nice. Stuff like that. Morgan number two, anything you'd like to say? Yeah, if you're in Nashville, go to a boxing class at Tidal Church Tree.
Starting point is 00:31:39 It's Bobby's. I went yesterday. I'm very sore today. I appreciate that. out that is my gym. I got one in East Nashville and one on Church Street. I'm about to hopefully have another one. I can't say yet. You're doing it in my hood? TBD. Not TBD, but just, you know, I don't want to say
Starting point is 00:31:53 yet because it's not. We don't have it yet. But I had Morgan up on an Instagram store. I was like, you went to my gym and didn't invite me? But you don't like the classes. You do like the hardcore stuff and I get very tired. Some days I can't handle that. Yesterday was one of those days. You've never not handled it. I handle it, but I secretly die. inside a little bit afterwards. So the class is a little bit more tame.
Starting point is 00:32:17 I was thinking, I like to think a theme. Maybe we should do like a boxing and Botox. Because they all, their words are similar to. It looked cool. It's like a boxing glove and a needle. Yeah. Like come and boxing. Do an event.
Starting point is 00:32:28 Yeah. Boxing talks. See? So many things. There you go. Getting creative. Love it. Use an idea.
Starting point is 00:32:34 Chase it. Mm-hmm. Now, look at your forehead a little bit there, bones. I guess you could use a little bit. Yeah. I was looking at your whole face. Fair enough. Getting older is so awesome.
Starting point is 00:32:48 I don't mind it. Yeah, I haven't hated it. The only thing that I don't mind most is that I don't have like kids and stuff. Like once I get kids I'm married, I'm done. I'm getting fat. No, you're not. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:32:59 Yeah, you will. No, you're not. Everything goes. You have jobs you want to get down. I'm done. They'll still hire him for the jobs. They'll just be like, there he is with kids. They'll just shoot me from here up.
Starting point is 00:33:08 I mean, here down. They just shoot me here. This is too old. This is too fat. So I was going to be. collarbone up eyebrows down at least you have a really good jaw line
Starting point is 00:33:18 I do have strong jaw yeah you got that going for you yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah you got strong that jaw is check out the Thomas Rett Bobbycast it's fantastic
Starting point is 00:33:27 it's him and myself for an hour and talking about all things Thomas Rett first time he's ever done an interview like that looking ahead at future Bobbycasts
Starting point is 00:33:35 I have a bobbycasts with John Christ coming up who's the comedian also Lauren Lainis boyfriend, familiar with him. I have Bobbycast with Brett Young. Is that still on the schedule?
Starting point is 00:33:50 Brett Young coming up. Ooh. Here's one with Mark Zuckerberg. Really? Nah. It'd be cool, though, huh? That'd be awesome. Okay, check out Bob. What's his, Elon Musk? That'd be cool.
Starting point is 00:34:04 Or Jack Dorsey? Or Jack Dorsey. Do you know he does? No. Twitter. Oh, yeah, yeah. And Square. He's the CEO of both of those companies. Smart people like that would be amazing to just listen to talk. about how their mind works.
Starting point is 00:34:15 I feel like we do that every day when they get to hear you talk. Yo, guy, go. Like, how does that mind work? There's not much in there. We're going to go, thank you so much for hanging out with the show. You know, I wonder, and you guys can always tweet me and let me know. We do these drafts, these fantasy drafts of things. If you like them, Eddie and I were at the house talking about this.
Starting point is 00:34:33 Like, do people like that? You're at the house talking about that, right? Or maybe Mike and I were doing that. Well, I've been at your house before when we've talked about stuff. Oh, okay. Sorry. I was like, I wonder if people liked this because we have a lot of fun doing it. But if you like to fantasy drafts, let us know.

I'm the host of Earsay, the Audible and I Heart Audiobook Club. This week on the podcast, I am sitting down with Ray Porter, the narrator of Andy Weir's audiobook Project Hail Mary, massive sci-fi adventure about survival and science. And what happens when you wake up alone very far from Earth? I really had to make a decision because I caught myself getting that frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm narrating some of these sections. And it's like, okay, yo, yeah, yo, is this indulgent? And I really thought about it.
Starting point is 00:37:53 I was like, no, at this point it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that deeply emotionally affected me and I left it on the mic. That's great. Because it served the story. People will say like, oh my God, I cried at the end. It's like, yeah, dude, me too. Listen to Earsay, the Audible and IHeart Audio Book Club on the IHeart Radio app or wherever you get your podcasts. Folks, it's your buddy and mine.
Starting point is 00:38:26 Mr. Bobby Bones. Let's go. Transmitting across America. This is the Bobby Bonds. Welcome to Thursday show. Morning studio. Morning. Look at us.
Starting point is 00:38:41 Another day here in the studio. We're going to try to make you laugh today. And I was reading this story, a study finds laugh. tracks really do make bad jokes seem funnier. Maybe we should play the laugh track after Amy's corny's. Really? You're saying they're not good enough? No, I'm just saying it.
Starting point is 00:38:55 It's fun. Like, watch this. You know, today? I walk down the street. Try another one. No, it was seriously, though. When I was walking, I looked down and I saw this dog, you know what he was doing? He was pooping!
Starting point is 00:39:10 Okay. Okay. I mean, maybe. And then I went to bed, and I woke up this morning. My alarm was going off, and I looked at it, and it said, It said, you're not going to believe this. It said, wake up. Okay, I'm laughing now.
Starting point is 00:39:26 Like, there's not a single joke there. Right. But you're hearing laughs. It's amazing. Laughter's contagious. What state has the smallest drinks? Oh, I know. Mini soda.
Starting point is 00:39:39 There's a joke. Got it. What does a dinosaur use to pay the bills? I don't know. Tyrannosaurus checks. Oh. Don't take all my jokes. These aren't yours.
Starting point is 00:39:54 You don't own these. You didn't write these. Then I might need them. What do you call a can opener that doesn't work? A can't opener. Good one. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Researchers found that people find jokes funnier when other people are laughing at them.
Starting point is 00:40:11 That's my whole point of that. Yeah, I like that. So, hey, we're going to have a good show today. It's going to be probably super funny. Man, you're right. Here's the Bobby Bone Show, Highlight segment of the day. Hey, so here's an email.
Starting point is 00:40:28 And the just is, a guy texted his ex-girlfriend the day before his wedding to thank her for being his first love. Like, to be like, hey, thank you. And it's for taking care of him. He said he made it clear that he had his fiance's permission to reach out to her. The ex-girlfriend said she was speechless when she got the text. The fiancé wants to know, is this a sincere thank you? Or is this weird? Or is he up to something?
Starting point is 00:40:52 I don't get why he needed to do it. Let me read you what he wrote to her. Now, this is one of those text messages that you get, and it takes up the whole screen. And you have to, sometimes you send those to me. Come on. I've learned my lesson. Sometimes, like, maybe back, but I mean, it's been a while. Because now I know better.
Starting point is 00:41:12 Here's the text. He writes this to his ex-girlfriend, okay? He's about to get married, but he's writing this to his ex-girlfriend. Okay. I'm getting married tomorrow. I wanted to send you this message. Thank you for being my first love. Thank you for always encouraging me.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Thank you for keeping me out of trouble. And thank you for the times you took care of me when I was sick and depressed. That's the first part of it. Are we okay with that part of it so far? Yeah. It's weird. Oh, it's weird. Very strange.
Starting point is 00:41:40 You think it's weird? Yes. So far, I'm kind of okay with this. Yeah, I'm not. It's okay to share thanks. But okay. On to the rest of the text message. Thank you for loving me.
Starting point is 00:41:50 And if you haven't already, I hope one day you find love. If you love me that much when we were young, I can only imagine how strong and powerful your love is now. What do you think so far? Okay. Getting, getting a hint of weird. 9% weirder, right? I still don't understand the purpose. And I still don't hate it yet.
Starting point is 00:42:09 Right. But a bit bit weirder. Yes, more than men. Yeah. On to the next paragraph. The way your heart is made, it's amazing. Oh. I know we were only kids when we dated, but you taught me what.
Starting point is 00:42:22 love is. To the man who's lucky enough to have you as their wife, I hope he treats you with care. I hope he knows who he has in front of him. I hope he shows you love and loyalty every day. You deserve that and more. My point of all this is, you are the reason why I know how to love someone. You taught me love. You taught me how to deal with my anger, how to deal with my depression, and how to live life to the fullest. And I'm grateful for you. I wish you love and happiness. And that's you. And that's that's the end of the text. So he texts that to his ex-girlfriend as he's about to get married.
Starting point is 00:42:57 It's really kind. Amy, your thoughts. I think it's, I mean, I don't think it's necessary. Like, I think, I'm trying to think of where he's coming from, and I think he's thankful. He's genuinely trying to say, like, you taught me how to love. Clearly he has some, like, stuff going on, and maybe he didn't, like, between, like, the anger and the depression,
Starting point is 00:43:16 maybe he didn't really know how to receive love and give love. I mean, that could be something you, if you, if you like, bring me into this. So. Yeah, yeah. This is Bobby. I know. I know it's not about you, but I mean, he genuinely could be coming from a place of gratitude
Starting point is 00:43:32 of like, I wouldn't, he's not saying I'm in love with you. He's saying. Oh, my God. How do you feel about this tag? I think I'm sort of okay with it. Okay. It is. I don't, I don't know that it's necessary, but I think I understand what he's trying to do.
Starting point is 00:43:48 And he's coming from a sincere place of gratitude of like, thank you for loving me and teaching me how to love so that I can now get married to the woman that I am meant to be with. Let's go to Jessica in New York. Jessica, you're on the Bobby Bone Show. What do you think about this? Hi, Bobby. So I think it's a little weird that he went into so much detail. I think, I don't know, I think he's taking credit away from the woman he's marrying now. I think she definitely had a lot to do with the man he's today. I think he could have just said thank you. But I think that was just not fair to his fiancee to go into that big of a whole spiel. Maybe just a thanks with a thumbs up emoji.
Starting point is 00:44:26 Right. Thanks and a wedding like a wedding emoji. So you think it's a little much. It was definitely much. I just don't think it's fair to his wife now. Let me say this as someone who has trouble at times
Starting point is 00:44:42 expressing openly feelings in a super interpersonal setting. I think it's okay. It's weird. It is weird. But he doesn't say anything like, hey, if you want to go one more round, let me know. He doesn't say anything like that. And it is, I'm agreeing, it's weird to read. But if he struggled with feelings, and listen, I went to this like four day, five day therapy thing once, and I came out of it, like, oh, I need to actually share,
Starting point is 00:45:08 overshare a bit my feelings because I've been undersharing for so long, just to kind of re-discipline myself that it's okay to give real personal, vulnerable thoughts. I'm okay with it, especially if there's closure for him. It's weird. He needs to let us that. She read it his fiancee too. So it's not like he's doing it on the sly. Right. Weird, but okay. Kind.
Starting point is 00:45:31 Very kind. And had it been like one more, LMK? Right. I'd have been like, okay, not good. Or like if you haven't found anybody, like I still have a day. Don't get married. He puts a timer up there. Still time. Morgan number two, you're a girl.
Starting point is 00:45:48 Right? Yeah, I'm a girl. She's a girl. You're 25. What do you think about this? I don't know to me. I just think the door is already closed and probably his ex-girlfriend is like, I already knew these things he's telling me. Like you kind of come to that conclusion yourself when you get over
Starting point is 00:46:02 a breakup. You're like, you know what? I did good and I did bad. I recognize those things on my own so he just validated that for her. So you think it's too much? Yeah, but I don't think it was necessary. Whenever you leave, like I'll use AA for example. I've never been in, but
Starting point is 00:46:18 I had a lot of family that was in and I've spoken to those groups before. They tell you you have to go one of the steps is to go and be like, hey, I'm sorry or like to actually reconcile. Pour your feelings out and say this is how I did this. I wish I wouldn't have and thank you for the. Maybe it's part of that too. Not that he's in a program, but that's one of the steps. And maybe he's just going back.
Starting point is 00:46:43 I can't hate on him. Yeah. I can't hate on him. I wouldn't do it. Right. Okay. Yeah, no. Let's go to Michael in Missouri.
Starting point is 00:46:53 Michael, you're on the Bobby Bone show. How are you, bud? Good, man. What do you want to say? You know, if you want to know if that's right or wrong, but, I mean, obviously you ask the fiancé, but knowing how my wife and I are, absolutely not. That would not fly. And I don't think it would fly with, regardless if she said it was okay for him or not,
Starting point is 00:47:18 you know that that fiance's feeling uneasy about that. I know. If you read the message, to me, there's just never a, you know, a peach and then a phone call, you know, a booty call. You don't, there's not, that's not,
Starting point is 00:47:32 I don't see that in this. You don't see like a future, like, just like an overall feeling of like, no, he's even wishing her happiness. Like he wants her to find what she deserves and what he's probably found. He probably could have weaved some of that in. If anything, he's not giving her enough credit.
Starting point is 00:47:49 he's like, I hope you find this. Without me, I hope you find this. Right, right. She's got it, dude. She's probably all right. She's got it. She probably don't you. Right.
Starting point is 00:47:56 Like to her, it's a little bit insulting. But from him, I don't see an issue. And move on with your life. If we can just express our feelings more, I get the other people. A lot of phone calls are weirded out by this. It is weird. Oh, yeah. It's weird.
Starting point is 00:48:08 Yeah. Let's do one more. Troy in Virginia. Troy, you're on the Bobby Bone show. What do you want to say, Troy? Hey, Tori, go ahead. I just would say, it's bonkers. Because if he's fixing it married to this other girl,
Starting point is 00:48:23 he should not be focused on his thoughts on the ex-grouprant. So it sounds like it's the last-fitch effort to maybe put out feelers. No. That's a, yes, and your opinion's valid. It's so borderline that I don't think anyone's wrong on this. But everything in every relationship is different. And if it works for him and his fiance, then it works, I'm good with it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:48:45 I mean, I guess it could be putting out feelers. Maybe he's saying, like, if you haven't found love, I hope you do. people. I said that to all his exes. See what happens. They all started to come out. They're like, I got this too. Tori, thank you for calling. Where are you listening in Virginia? Where do you listen to the show? Excuse me? Where do you listen to the show?
Starting point is 00:49:02 In Hampton. Oh, cool. Well, shout out. Hampton Road, Virginia Beach. We love that area over there. Yeah. Yeah. I love it over there. All right, thank you for the call. All right. You guys have a great day. All right. See you later. The Bobby Bone Show. Big Three Stories.
Starting point is 00:49:14 Let's go over to our producer, Ramundo. Ramundo, what you got over there? At Atlanta's airport, we're now seeing footage of the two-year-old boy who jumped on the baggage conveyor belt. He was on a conveyor belt for around five minutes and was saved by TSA. The boy's doing fine now. He has minor injuries. In Costa Rica, 20th person has died from tainted alcohol.
Starting point is 00:49:33 If you're traveling to Costa Rica, all the affected brands are listed online. And finally, health officials have rolled out the first anti-ecegarette ads. You're going to start to see them on social media and on TV. Let's go over and take a call from Aaron in Virginia. Aaron, thank you for calling the Bobby Bone Show. What's up? Hey, good morning, Bobby. It's Aaron from Richmond.
Starting point is 00:49:58 I wanted to call and congratulate you guys on having the number one podcast in the country. Hey, thank you very much. We're very excited. We know we couldn't do it without you guys listening to, so thank you very much. Yeah, I started listening to the podcast back when I was deployed to Afghanistan in 2017, and I've been hooked ever since. So I just wanted to thank you for your positivity and just everything you guys do. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:50:21 serving. How is Afghanistan? What's that like? It's hot. And we don't get to listen to the radio, so the podcast is the only way to hear you guys. And luckily, I was able to hear about you from a guy on my team and never stop listening to him. Love him. Love that guy on your team. I don't know who that is. The unknown guy. I love him. Well, listen, thank you for the call. Thanks for listening. And thanks for serving, most importantly. Yep. Yeah, yeah. Thank you guys. And thanks for continuing the positive vibe that you do.
Starting point is 00:50:51 each and every day. We really appreciate it. Thanks, Aaron. See you, bud. There he is. Aaron and Virginia. I do want to bring this up. We had someone reach out to us. A multi-billion dollar corporation reached out upset at Eddie. I don't get it. What do you think you said that we could have upset a multi-billion dollar
Starting point is 00:51:07 corporation? I mean Christmas? I mean, I picked Christmas in my draft. I don't really know what I've said. You didn't pick Christmas. You picked. You just Christ. Right. So, multi-billion dollar corporation? I don't know. This came to me from Morgan number two
Starting point is 00:51:22 They reached out to you Is that what it was? No, they reached out to Hillary. Oh, is it Hillary? So Hillary is kind of falling in one of the roles As our main producer Until we find a new executive producer. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:31 And so this corporation called And they disagree with your statement That Chipotle is overrated Because it's... Oh my goodness. Yeah, I can't believe you said that. Well, I mean, we like to be honest on this show And I was just saying that
Starting point is 00:51:45 I mean, I grew up with Mexican food. I feel like I know Mexican food really well. I am Mexican-American. Chipotle to me is overrated. Let me say this about the term overrated, by the way. You can still be rated super high and still be overrated. Right. Like, overrated things are often things that are really good.
Starting point is 00:52:03 And things that everyone love. For whatever weird reason, you don't love it. Just me personally? I feel like it's overrated. Part of Chipotle's appeal is not only is it great and fresh, but it's also not expensive. Yeah, it's affordable. So don't let that get lost in your wool.
Starting point is 00:52:22 It's not Mexican. Is it supposed to be Mexican food? I didn't even think of it as Mexican food. It's a burrito. Okay, Chipotle wants to prove Eddie wrong. This is a note that are putting up on my screen from Hillary. Hillary said someone from Chappoli reached out because they heard Eddie say it's overrated. Now they want to bring in and cater lunch to the whole show to prove that Eddie was wrong.
Starting point is 00:52:40 Yum. All right. Bring it. Well, then that's good. That's good. I mean, I say something that is wrong to them and then they give you guys free food. I would like to say that, listen, I think Lamborghinis are overrated. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:53 And expensive hotels, they're all in. Cruises, cruises are overrated. Well, yeah, we need to call out specific companies. Like Bobby said Lamborghini. Oh, Adidas. Oh, Royal Caribbean. Chipotle is going to, hey, Hillary, will you walk up to Ramundo's mic in the glass room, please? Is Chipotle going to come in?
Starting point is 00:53:12 They're going to come in and... Yeah, they want to come in. And... Oh, boy. Do we want them to cater like lunch or like the show while we're doing it at like 8.30 or something? Oh, Eddie, you can't eat while we do it. No, Eddie, you can't eat. You get to watch.
Starting point is 00:53:26 No, no. Eddie's the one they're trying to convince. Yeah, so I'll try it again. See, maybe it convinced me otherwise. Oh, I cannot wait. Was this someone from like national Chipotle? Yeah. And they want to know if they can come.
Starting point is 00:53:36 Whatever time, y'all tell me and I'll let her know. Okay, yeah, the answer is yes. We'll figure out of time. What do we got to do to get one of those cards that like Dan and Shea have where you can like get Chipotle all the time whenever you want? Like they have some card. Do you have it, I have a different, I don't have my wallet with me, but I have a different card. Yeah, yeah, you just get.
Starting point is 00:53:52 And I haven't used it. You can go get a Chipotle every day if you want. Mine's not Chipotle. Mine's Outback Steakhouse. Yeah. Which other one? Logan's Steakhouse. Oh, is my mom?
Starting point is 00:54:03 Carrabas. No, Carrabas. That's right. It's a family. And I never used it because I always felt guilty. And I don't know if it works anymore. We can try it. Yeah, you can pass it over.
Starting point is 00:54:12 We'll go. Do you want the card? I would love the card. Yes. I don't know if it works, but you can try it. Give it a shot. We'll start with appetizers, and then we'll pay for that, and then we'll go from there. I'll give you the card.
Starting point is 00:54:22 Okay. All right, so, Chapult Lake can come in. We'll figure out of time. Okay, let me know when. I'll let him know. Okay, you ready? Hey, you guys are welcome. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:29 Gosh, I hate that, though. It's making me so hungry. I know, and I feel like, I was just saying something I felt. Always say what's on your heart. All right. Rika and Austin is on the phone. Rika, welcome to the Bobby Bone Show. Hi, Rika.
Starting point is 00:54:41 There she is. Hi, Rika. Hey. Thank you very much. What's going on? Hey, good morning studio Morning! That's awesome
Starting point is 00:54:52 I just wanted to know what your individual like reason for getting up in the morning and what you love about the show. I have, I wake up and I go, man, I sure like to say a bunch of stuff and I have people hear it and then I'd like to really,
Starting point is 00:55:11 it's like, I used to drive and be in traffic and I'd be like, oh, it stinks. I like to make sure that people driving to work in the morning, hopefully can have like friends to hang out with and listen to that doesn't make the drive so miserable. Like micro. Macro, we can actually do some really cool things to influence and also to help. Like that's the real big reason we do the show.
Starting point is 00:55:27 But the small reason is I just like for people in traffic to not feel lonely or to be so bored they can listen to us. That's why I wake up in the morning. You? Yeah, I think you nail it. Like the philanthropic side, that's the big like picture, which is so amazing. But then I have, I've, I used to listen to this show like 15 years ago sitting in traffic for an hour.
Starting point is 00:55:46 And I loved that it was just, relatable, and we just talked about live, or y'all did, and I would listen. And then now I'm a part of it. So the fact that I get to wake up and just talk with my friends every day, and then, yeah, hopefully entertain somebody driving to work or tell a relatable story
Starting point is 00:56:00 so that they don't feel alone. Like, that's cool. Rika, why do you listen to the show? I listen to the show because you'll do so much good and you all have so much interesting talks and to tell me something. good and all of that I just all comes together to be such a wonderful peace in my life well thank you
Starting point is 00:56:23 very much and thanks for listening and continuing to listen and man makes me feel good appreciate that big compliment there well there we have it we got a lot done in this segment here eddie has insulted chipotle but they would like to come back rika called with a wonderful call uh got in virginia yeah well that was the same segment right yes it was look at us the bobby bone show is is proud to be supported by Grand Canyon University, an affordable, private, non-profit Christian University based in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona. And I really thought about it. I was like, no, at this point, it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that deeply emotionally affected me and I left it on the mic.
Starting point is 00:59:31 That's great. Because it served the story. People will say like, oh my God, I cried at the end. It's like, yeah, dude, me too. Starting point is 01:06:57 Marin Morris stopped by the show yesterday, and she told us that the person she looks up to the most is Dolly Parton. I mean, definitely, like, in everything that she's done in her career, probably Dolly Parton. She still sounds just clear as a bell like she did back in the 70s. And so, yeah, I mean, I've always looked up to her more than just like as a songwriter, but just as a businesswoman. I'm Morgan number two.
Starting point is 01:07:21 That's your skinny. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Get at home. It's something good. If you've ever lost a pet, you know how stressful it is trying to get your family, loved one, back. You know, you post flyers on polls all through the neighborhood. Well, Angelo's pizza in New Jersey is now helping.
Starting point is 01:07:39 people out. Whenever you lose your pet, you send them a picture and they'll stamp a flyer to their pizza boxes as they go out to the neighborhood saying, have you seen this cat? Have you seen this dog? It's lost. Help the family be reunited. Wow. That's pretty cool. Yeah. It's like the on demand milk carton version. Like that was all preprinted and put out there. But this is like minute we get it, we put it on a pizza, take it out. Yeah, pretty good. Pretty progressive thinking there too. Yeah. We can help you out. That's awesome. Thank you lunchbox. That is what it's all about right there. That was tell me something. good.
Starting point is 01:08:10 Bobby Bones show. Bonehead. Norrie of the day. This story comes to us from North Dakota. A guy was driving a semi with 42 tons of beans. He comes to a bridge that says max limit, 14 tons. Oh, wait. Let me do the math here.
Starting point is 01:08:26 42 greater than 14. He says, man, what are the odds the bridge will collapse if I go across it? So he goes across it and down goes the bridge and his semi gets stuck right. there on the bridge. Oh, it did collapse. They say it's going to cost about a million dollars to rebuild the bridge, and he was fined $11,000. Wait, who's paying the money? Well, I don't know, but maybe his trucking company, but he has to pay the $11,000 fine. That's a lot of beans, by the way. How about that?
Starting point is 01:08:57 Holy cow. All right, lunchbox. Thank you. I'm Lunchbox. That's your Bonehead story of the day. We have another fantasy draft coming up this hour. we're going to draft fast food restaurants. Yeah. Yeah. So we'll do our draft. Get your ownership rules.
Starting point is 01:09:23 I don't know if people love this, but I love playing this game. Do people like fantasy drafts in Morgan number two? Oh yeah. They love it. They're all for it. Because fantasy football happens, and we played for years and years and years. But I was like, instead of drafting football players, let's just draft country music songs that are sad, country music songs. So we'll do that coming up in a little bit.
Starting point is 01:09:40 On this day in country music right now, here we go, Ramondo. The Bobby Bones Show. On this day in country music. Today in 1998, which is 21 years ago, Shanaya Twain has the number one country song with From This Moment On, but maybe not the version that you remember, because the original version was a duet with her and Brian White. Here you go.
Starting point is 01:10:06 Remember that? When you first mentioned it, no, but now that I hear it, I'm like, yes, this is what I remember. She co-wrote the song with Muntling, and whenever they wrote it, they thought, let's just get this to Celine Dion. She'll sing it to be her song. So they were going to pitch it to Slane Dion. And then as they developed a song,
Starting point is 01:10:24 they thought, well, let's let Shania keep it and we'll do it as a duet. And their first choice was Elton John. Didn't do it. Their second choice was Brian White. She said Brian White had the best male voice in country music. And so that went out to country radio. And here's the hook.
Starting point is 01:10:42 From This Moment on, from Shania Twain, the number one song of Country Radio 21 years ago. Now, there's more of the story. She didn't release another version of the song without Brian White after the label said he's not going to be able to promote the song alongside her, like it to pop. So he can't go out and do the tour, like promotional tour. So then she had to go in and re-record his parts as her parts. And that was the song that went massive mainstream.
Starting point is 01:11:18 That's her and her. Her and her. Amy, what's happened to your house? I have birds in my chimney. and they're chirping like crazy and it's like they're stuck and I don't know what to do because our fireplaces don't work
Starting point is 01:11:32 they're sealed off. So like I can't access them. They're supposed to be capped off at the top but I mean birds I guess can make their way in but you can tell in the brick there's like this opening and the break like you can hear the noise coming like and the bird is like more than halfway down my chimney.
Starting point is 01:11:49 So here's some audio Amy took with her phone of the birds in her chimney. Go ahead. They're upset. So, like, you, that's not, it sounds like I'm maybe outside with nature. But you can hear my TV. Like, I'm just at home, and that's what it sounds like. You don't want to mute that TV to get that good audio?
Starting point is 01:12:11 I just was, I was just like, oh, he's chirping. I'm going to grab audio. Left night cord on real quick. That's Chernobyl, actually. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's, like, Stevenson's really concerned about the birds. So am I. So I'm like, should we call like a chip?
Starting point is 01:12:25 chim chiminy person. Oh, Dick Van Dyke. Chishimmy. Or like... Chimony. Wildlife, because I feel that like I want the chirping to stop, but then, oh, I kind of don't want it to stop
Starting point is 01:12:37 because that means maybe it died. Oh, you want it to stop on your own terms. Yeah. Yeah. I want it to stop because it's annoying. But then I feel like I'm going to be... We're going to have to have a moment of silence if we hear it stop because I don't know if he got free or if...
Starting point is 01:12:51 Just tell the kids he got free. Yeah. No, I mean, I don't want him to die either. It's sad. Like somehow a bird is in there and is like, help, I'm hungry, or I don't know how to get out, or I'm scared because it's dark in here. It sounds like that circus music that goes, dun-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-do-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d...
Starting point is 01:13:07 Oh, Puey Herman. Play-Deger-Degder-old. This is the birds. Well, poor guy. He, like, fades, and then he comes back up, and then he fades. He'll get it. He'll get out. I sure hope so.
Starting point is 01:13:26 They knew how to get in. They'll get out. I had a cat under my house. Went searching for him. In the middle of winter. Ran right by me. It was fine the whole time. Got out, no problem.
Starting point is 01:13:36 He got in, he got out. There were more than one, just one. I don't know. I'm missing his family, though. No idea. I don't know if that's one bird chirping or... I know. And doesn't it sound like a baby bird, like his chirp as every.
Starting point is 01:13:48 No? Sounds like an old, old bird who's probably time to go and he went there to just live out his final days in his favorite chimney he grew up flying on. And he's singing. about his memories. Yeah, it's kind of, yeah, it's very much like that. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 01:13:59 It's him just kind of his last hurrah. That makes you feel better. But, poor Stevenson talks to him. Hey, birdie. Oh, your son talks to the sad bird? Yeah. It's like, it's okay. I mean, every, even if I'm not in the room, like Stevenson will come get me.
Starting point is 01:14:12 He always talking again. Breaks our heart. Bobby bones. Yeah. We draft our teams, much like a fantasy football league. But it's a fantasy draft today of fast food places. So Eddie will have the first overall pick in the draft And it goes down the line
Starting point is 01:14:30 And then it goes backward, back up the line So the person at the end of the line drops twice in a row Eddie, are you ready? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm ready With the first overall pick In your fast food fantasy draft Come on. What are you going with?
Starting point is 01:14:42 Everyone's going to agree with me on this Chick-fil-A, baby, let's go. Get it off the table now. Chick-fil-A not open on Sunday Dang. Hey, you got the first round pick for a reason I'm going to get the best. Kind of had to go there, right?
Starting point is 01:14:55 Kind of had to go there. Morgan number two. I got to go with my first true love Taco Bell. Oh, I love Taco Bell. Why? Hmm. Okay. It's tough because now you're in that land of,
Starting point is 01:15:13 I'm going to go with the third pick in the first round. I'm going to go with In-N-Out Burger. Wow. Wow. Guatsy. Yeah, gutsy. Yeah, gutsy. Excuse me, Amy?
Starting point is 01:15:24 That's controversial. Yeah. In a bit, I bet I'm pandering to the left side of the country. That's right. He's looking for votes. I love In and Out. I'm looking for votes. I love In & Out.
Starting point is 01:15:33 But I'm going In-N-Out Burger in the first round. Amy? Chipotle first round. Hit me up working for that card. Amy, you're trying to get that Chipotle card. I love you. Lunchbox, first round pick. Last pick of the first round?
Starting point is 01:15:48 Yeah, I'm going to go with a place that is very good. It has many options. You can get soup, salad, sandwiches, panera bread. Interesting. Oof. Okay. Interesting. All right.
Starting point is 01:15:58 You do get the second. pick now. Like a line minute number one. Yep. And then my second pick, I'm going to... You took the line at number one. You got to have a good offense of line to protect your quarterback, and I'm going to, you know, pander to Texas.
Starting point is 01:16:08 Waterburger. Wow, yeah. You, son of... I was going to take it if you did. It was never going to get back to you. Yeah, it wasn't getting back to you. Yeah, it would have been taken. Amy.
Starting point is 01:16:19 Starbucks. Oh, solid pick. Fast food? Yes. Didn't even think about it. You woke up. You get in line. You order your unsweetened green ice tea.
Starting point is 01:16:27 Didn't cross my mind. They hand it to you? I don't eat that. Wow. Solid. Fast food. Here I am. Sitting at the next pick. I'm looking at something that's been taken.
Starting point is 01:16:39 Chick-fil-A-Tac-fil-A-Tac-Vail in and out. Chipotle, Panera, Waterburger, Starbucks, all taken. Like, if I were going to go stop and grab some food, quickly. I just... Your second pick, man. I know. Got to go big. I'm torn between a few.
Starting point is 01:17:00 Because the fries at McDonald's. are so good. Oh my gosh. They're amazing. They're so good. With the second pick, it's going to make a dee's. I'm going to go with McDonald's. I have two. They're so good. I just have to go. And you know when I have kids, they get a happy meal. Yes, it's all good. It's a tough pick, though. Morgan number two, we're down the nitty-gritty. Second pick. Well, they have the best drink deals. It is Sonic. I was considering Sonic. You go there for happy hour. That's a good pick, Morgan number two.
Starting point is 01:17:36 You get your coney on. Eddie. Cherry linemate slushy. I'm trying to go with one that I don't think anyone's going to pick. I can save that for later if I'm convinced of that. Man, I'm going to go. I'm going to go with Pizza Hut. I love Pizza Hut.
Starting point is 01:17:54 I love Pizza Hut. Pan pizza, pepperoni mushroom. Let's go Pizza Hut. Yeah, it's a good one. Lunchbox? No, it goes back. Eddie gets two picks. He has the first pick.
Starting point is 01:18:04 Oh, you were first. Oh, yeah, snake, snake, snake. You got sitting by each other. Eddie, with your last pick. Now you get the first pick of the third round. Go ahead. All right, I'm going to go with a sandwich place. Quiznos.
Starting point is 01:18:14 All right. I love that they toast their buns. Give me Quiznos. Oh. Morgan number two? I love eating a frosty and fries from here. Wendy's. Good.
Starting point is 01:18:26 Wendy's. Good pick. Well, there are only a couple of us left. What are you going to do? Well, we're probably all thinking of the same few here. I'm going to go with. because it's, this is not going to be, this is probably not going to be,
Starting point is 01:18:44 this is probably not going to be the one that wins it for me, but what I'm going to do is I'm going to go with Emma Hart, where a big part of my life is owed to this place. Me too, this was mine. You're taking my draft pick. Where he met Amy? Let me tell my story. You don't have to ruin it.
Starting point is 01:19:01 I met Culvers. Lunchbox around my story, but yes, Culver's. I met Amy there and the end. Yeah, we have our special booth. Oh yeah, we do have a boost dedicated to us. Okay, so you've got that. That's what I had. Now I need to come up with another one.
Starting point is 01:19:18 Okay, I got it. I got it. Dairy queen. Solid. That's a good one. Oh, very good. Blizzard. The blizzard's great.
Starting point is 01:19:26 Yeah. I mean, just... Chocolate dipped cone. So many childhood memories there. And in every, I love that, like, every little small town you go through. There's always a dairy queen. And finally, lunchbox? Guys, you guys missed a...
Starting point is 01:19:39 mother load. You want some fried chicken. You're going to KFC and the original fried chicken is amazing. And that concludes the draft and now you can go and look at all the picks at Facebook and vote for which one you think is the best. I'm not super happy with mine.
Starting point is 01:19:56 Oh yeah? Yeah, I just don't like that I don't have water burger in mine. But you started off so strong. I didn't have Chick-fil-A. I feel like I'm forfeiting the season. Left on the table. Burger King was on the table. Five guys. Subway. Subway. Ooh, sandwiches.
Starting point is 01:20:11 You know what I was thinking about doing with Schlottskys? Oh, that's a good one. They have weird lettuce. Firehouse is delicious. That's the thin one? The real thin lettuce. All right, you can go to Facebook.com
Starting point is 01:20:21 slash Bobby Bone Show and vote for the team that you think is the best. Wow. On my team, I had a Colvers, McDonald's, and in and out. Boy, you're lots of burgers. You're like... You went Burger Central. I went Culvers.
Starting point is 01:20:31 I had this real emotional story. I was going to tell about Jamie to lead into Colvers. Well, you can still tell it. Yes, you can. But I... That's a Midwest pick. All my Midwest people stepping up. I'm plenty of different parts of the country.
Starting point is 01:20:43 I got the Midwest of the Culvers, in and out over to the left. And then I want McDonald's to kind of encapsulate all of them. The whole world. That's the whole world, yeah. Almost one with Duncan for like Boston? Oh. I didn't know. For Boston Market.
Starting point is 01:20:54 Yeah. A nice name catch there because it's Duncan now. That's why I do. Not Duncan donuts. I do. There you go. Thank you. The Bobby Bone Show is proud to be supported by Grand Canyon University,

I'm the host of Earsay, the Audible and I Heart audiobook club. This week on the podcast, I am sitting down with Ray Porter, the narrator of Andy Weir's
Starting point is 01:23:12 audiobook Project Hail Mary, massive sci-fi adventure about survival and science, and what happens when you wake up alone very far from Earth? I really had to make a decision because I caught myself getting that frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm not. narrating some of these sections and it's like, okay, yo, yeah, yo, is this indulgent? And I really thought about it. I was like, no, at this point, it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that deeply emotionally affected me and I left it on the mic.
Starting point is 01:23:49 That's great. Because it served the story. People will say like, oh my God, I cried at the end. It's like, yeah, dude, me too. Organic Valley Protein Plus, salt or filtered milk is pasture raised from cows that might take more steps than most people. That's a plus. Starting point is 01:24:19 And the fact that it didn't make a pun about moving, also a plus. Organic Valley Protein Plus Ultra Filtered Milk Protein plus pasture raised Learn more at Organicvalley.com Here's Amy's pile of stories So Lifetime is making a movie about the college admission scandal Oh, Ann Becky.
Starting point is 01:24:44 Yeah, it's gonna be good too. And you know, she used to be on the Hallmark channel So Lifetime's being like, what they're getting her? So and, okay, so the premise would be It follows two wealthy moms who eventually face the consequences of their crimes. Are they basing it on Aunt Becky? Yeah, Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman. Oh, they're going right after those two, the famous two.
Starting point is 01:25:08 I don't think I've got to watch it. I don't care enough. I think they should go to jail, though. Just because I, let's not let... Lifetime makes great movies, though. Let's not let all these people with all these advantages get off the hook just because they're rich. You know, good call. What else?
Starting point is 01:25:21 Well, you can now buy Cheez-It's and Redd wine together in one box. They partnered. So there's this box wine company called Original House Wine. So one side of this big old box is wine. And then the other side of the box is cheese it. So if you roll up to a party with this, I feel like you would be like, okay, this is pretty amazing. And they are starting to take orders today at Original Housewine.com. And I don't know. I just thought it was kind of hilarious and awesome. And the wine, it's the box holds up to four bottles, which is 20 glasses of wine. Nice.
Starting point is 01:25:56 So, yeah, you can roll in and be like, I brought drinks, I brought snacks, all in one box. A bottle of wine, only five glasses of wine? Four. Yeah, it's not a lot. Typically, it's four-ish, right? It depends on how- Wow. Yeah, it's not a lot.
Starting point is 01:26:10 So don't feel bad if you've killed the bottle yourself. Right. I didn't know that. You're telling me some of these expensive bottles are 100 bucks and it's only four glasses of wine. Correct. Or what the ones we read about, they're like thousands. Right.
Starting point is 01:26:22 Yeah. That's nutty. I saw that Yetie. he makes a wine glass, by the way. Oh. To keep your wine cool. Oh, yeah, like chilled, chilled wine. That's a thing.
Starting point is 01:26:31 Let's check that out. Yeah, D does. All right, what else? The bear also can't get it. What else? So I read this, and I thought a lot of moms out there could just, like, relate to me right about now. Because when it comes to questions from kids, there's like a ton. And this study showed that moms can get asked nearly 300 questions a day.
Starting point is 01:26:53 Mom. Mom. Now you're doing your kid. Now she's doing her kid. Mom. Mom. And the five questions that mothers get asked the most, according to the survey, is, why is water wet?
Starting point is 01:27:03 Where does the sky end? What are shadows made of? Why is the sky blue? And how to fish breathe underwater? Those are like the five. Like where, you know, you just get questions sometimes. And they're tough because it's like, I don't know how to answer these. That's why I don't have kids.
Starting point is 01:27:18 And figure those out yet. Oh, gosh. Well, hey, now Stevenson's in a question-asking phase. So if you ever hang out with him again, like if you all ever do some one-on-one, he's going to ask you everything. And then when you give him an answer, he'd be like, well, we'd be like, why do cars need gas? Well, I need them to run. Well, what will happen if you don't put gas? Okay, well, then, well, we'll break down on the side of the road.
Starting point is 01:27:39 So then what will happen? Oh, my gosh, it goes on and on. Amy's son's eight, by the way. Yeah. About to be nine. Next week. Yeah, he turns nine years old. Crazy.
Starting point is 01:27:49 Speaking of questions, I was reading this, the shortest IQ test. one question. You ready for it? Yeah. Yep. If anyone already knows the answer, please be honest and check yourself out. But here's the question. A bat and a ball cost $1.10 total. The bat costs $1 more than the ball. How much is the ball cost?
Starting point is 01:28:10 Oh, it's easy. Go ahead. 10 cents. Yeah, 10 cents. No. Amy. A bat in the ball costs $1.10 total. The bat costs $1 more than the ball. How much does the ball cost? A dollar more than the ball. It costs a dollar. Because a dollar is 90 cents more than 10 cents.
Starting point is 01:28:26 It's not a dollar more. Oh. Yeah. So we all don't have. You didn't give an answer at all. You're bowing out. It's a dollar. It's five cents and a dollar five.
Starting point is 01:28:39 Because that's a dollar more. Oh, so five cents. Okay. A dollar ten total. Yeah. A dollar five and five cents. And it's that amount more. Did you know that, Bones?
Starting point is 01:28:48 Yeah, of course. Took me a second. I didn't get it. I did not get it immediately. I would have maybe eventually was probably going to take me minutes. but I knew that it wasn't the quick answer. We send Amy home with homework. She got back to the next day.
Starting point is 01:28:59 She goes, well, I decided to, I'm using yen, if that's okay with you guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, there you go. Amy, that's your pile? I'm Amy, that's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With Bobby.
Starting point is 01:29:13 Tell me something good. So 7-Eleven celebrated its birthday on July 11th, which was Jennifer and March 8th, June. 7-11 on the months. So they gave away free slurpees, so a lot of people went and got free slurpees. The convenience store chain found out that a baby girl was born in St. Louis on that day, which was July 11th, at 7.11 p.m., weighing 7.11 ounces. Amazing. Like all of those things happen. Crazy.
Starting point is 01:29:44 And so now they're looking out for Jimmy Brown's future. Quote, after catching wind of the incredible news, 711 decided to pledge 7,1,000. $7.11 to the newborn's college fund on her entry into the world. 7-Eleven explains along with the donation. They're also giving the family free stuff that she needs now, including diapers, 7-Eleven onesies, and other newborn goodies. Oh, wow. So, that was fun.
Starting point is 01:30:07 They didn't have to do that. But how about that? Even if the 7-Eleven, the store is not involved, what a lucky thing to be born at. On 7-Eleven, because they're both lucky numbers. At 7-Eleven. Well, she wasn't born at 7-Eleven. 7-E in the time. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:20 I thought you meant at the store. Yeah. She sure got hooked up in. Yeah, on 7-Eleven, you're right, at 7-Eleven and weighing 7-1-1-1 and weighing 7-1-1-0. Yeah, crazy. Anyway, shout-out to 7-Eleven. That was Tell Me Something Good. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood.
Starting point is 01:30:37 Morgan No. 2, 30-second skinny. Luke Combs says that he likes to listen to his fans when it comes to decisions in his career. He says they are the most critical and honest. Right, here's the clip up Luke Combs. Thank you. Yeah, it's not playing. Here, let me see if I can do it on my screen. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:56 Yeah, dude. Dude, it's dead. It's up there. That's weird. We put the clip up. I guess Lou comes in one talk to us, only his fans. All right, what else, Morgan number two? Country couples teamed up with the dating app Bumble. So you can win a chance to go on a double date with them for charity. You could go and win a date with Scotty McCreary and his wife, Gaby. Gain Brown and Caitlin, Chris Lane and Lauren Bushnell, or Carly Pierce and Michael Ray.
Starting point is 01:31:17 You just have to download the app and swipe to win. Well, let me say something about this. I was, this is, I just need a girlfriend. Because I was going to do this, too, if I had a girlfriend. and it's $25,000 of charity of your choice. And I just didn't have a girlfriend to go on. So a charity did not get rewarded. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:31:35 I know. I feel bad. I didn't know that was going to be one of your stories, but good for them. Good for the couples. Good for Bumble. It's a fantastic thing. But I really could have helped out if I'd only had a girlfriend.
Starting point is 01:31:44 And they wouldn't let allow my dog, me and my dog, to go on a date. Oh. So, I know. That would be cute, though. Yeah. Maybe I'll find one of those puppy apps. All right. Is that it?
Starting point is 01:31:52 And then Johnny Cash's website was relaunch. The site now features a search of, database so you and Eddie can go and watch all his recordings and his concerts and all the things. We are nerds Eddie. Yes, we are. Hey, Ramundo, you want to try that clip one more time? I just got to hear Lou Kumm's talking about his fans. Yeah, you ready? I'll try. Here we go. Three, two, one. No, we got us. All right, thank you. I'm Morgan number two. That's your skinny. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bones.
Starting point is 01:32:17 Let's go. This is the Bobby Bones. Over to Amy with the Morning Corny. Here we go. The morning corny. Where do you find a really good birthday present for a cat? Oh, this is the investigative. Yeah, yeah. Oh. Oh, I forgot too. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:46 I mean, I was ready. Oh, well, then this is a good one for y'all. All right. Let me get my mistake. I'm glad I didn't do this. Another one I was thinking about doing. All right. Let's, by the way, here's the investigative corny.
Starting point is 01:32:56 The music, I got it, Raymondo. Oh, my whole screen's frozen, man. Yeah, major situation. We're falling apart in here. Okay. Code red. How do we improv this? Well, we just do it.
Starting point is 01:33:08 Who cares? Not like people come to us for professionalism anyway. You're not going to do that. And here's Amy. We can all have Ray do that. Well, Ray Mundo, that's his voice. Ray Mundo, do it live Morning Corny, the investigator Corny. This is the morning corny.
Starting point is 01:33:21 Investigative, Corny. Investigative. All right, there we go ahead. Corny. Okay. Where do you find a really good birthday present for a cat? Where do you find a really good birthday present for a cat? Okay, we have 90 seconds, the timer has started.
Starting point is 01:33:34 No. How about like a... It's a what for a cat? A birthday present. Perth day. At the Perth day. Perth day. The birthday store.
Starting point is 01:33:46 Cat nip? Something about litter? Litter. Litter. Litter. Kitty litter. Kitty store. Where do you find a really good birthday present for a cat?
Starting point is 01:33:56 I'm going to say the... Perfect store. Feline. Where would you find birthday presents, though? It's a mall at... Hey, it wouldn't be like... A mouth? It wouldn't be that other word, right?
Starting point is 01:34:11 Spencer's Corner? No, whatever. Okay. A birthday present for a cat? Spencer's gift. Is that what you're thinking about? For a cat, pedco? Oh.
Starting point is 01:34:23 That's not right. That's good, though. I like that idea. For a cat. Paul. Perfect. Where do you find a... really good birthday present. Where? Where do you find it?
Starting point is 01:34:35 At the Persian store. Persian rugs. Persian. The wall. At the kitty. The kitty. It's got to be kitty something, right? The kitty. Kitty Corral.
Starting point is 01:34:49 10 seconds. The kitty. Y'all are going to be like, oh my gosh. Cat nip. Cat. Five seconds. Cats are us. Litter.
Starting point is 01:35:00 I don't know. Time's up. All right. Raymondo, hit us with that imaging again from your voice. Oh. Oh, God, this is the morning corny.
Starting point is 01:35:11 Investigative. Yeah. Investigative. He's the guy I break. He's over there pushing buttons. He's working hard as he can. Okay. Go ahead.
Starting point is 01:35:17 Where do you find a really good birthday present for a cat? Where do you find a really good birthday present for a cat? In a catalog. What? Catalog. I don't think we would have gotten there. It wasn't burly birthday. You know what?
Starting point is 01:35:31 wrong. Guys, we're wrong. We are. We got to accept at times, oh, you put the L-Up for us? Amy's putting the L-UL-Up. We're a loser. There it is. Amy, nice. That's a show. We did not get it. We're the losers. That was morning corny. Thank you, Raymondo.
Starting point is 01:35:47 By the way, today's lunchbox's birthday. He turns 38 years old today. Hey! Old man. Look at this guy. That is. What's happening on the birthday today? I have no idea. That's my wife's job. I mean, it's my birthday, so she's supposed to plan it. But she didn't tell you anything? No, she didn't tell me anything.
Starting point is 01:36:04 She did wake up this morning when I got up for work and she said, Happy birthday. And then she went back to bed. Yeah. I mean, I don't know if she just woke up on purpose or she just heard me getting in the shower. Have you cleared your schedule for what she has planned for you tonight? Oh, yeah. My schedule is clear.
Starting point is 01:36:19 Thursdays are pretty open for me. They're usually relaxation days. And so hopefully she has something awesome plan, maybe some reservations. Maybe she got a babysitter. I mean, maybe we're taking the kid with us. I don't know. But we'll find out when I get home from work. Maybe she's got balloons and stuff and decorates the house.
Starting point is 01:36:34 Hope she does something awesome. Do you feel any different at 38? No, not at 38, but I'm starting to get sad because, man, that 40 is coming in quick. Yeah, it's coming in. And I'm 39. 40's coming in quick. And I got nothing. I got a job.
Starting point is 01:36:49 A good job. But that can go away tomorrow. Yeah, a lot of jobs. Yeah. Yeah, you have a lot of jobs. I got one job. But 40 is just a scary number to me. And it's been a scary number since I was a kid.
Starting point is 01:36:58 Like when my parents turned 40, I was like, oh, my gosh, you guys are ancient. Yeah. And you have the party where everything's all black and it's like the morning. Over the hill. Yeah, over the hill. Oh, 40 is real close. I'm just looking forward to it already happening. I don't want to spend time going, oh, when's 40?
Starting point is 01:37:13 Let's just go. Let's go. Make me 40. I'll be 40 today. I'm good. Like, get it over with. Just get it over with. Because 41 sounds better than 40 does anyway.
Starting point is 01:37:22 Because you just kind of embraced it and you're just like, I am. But 40 is like, oh, he just turned 40. That's tough. Yeah, I mean, I guess last night I felt old too because I was at my soccer game. one of the girls on my team that filled in. She graduated high school in 2015. Yeah. Whoa.
Starting point is 01:37:37 And I was like. On your team. Yeah. I was like, okay. Because we were talking about my birthday day. She was like, how old are you going to be? I was like 38. She goes, oh, I just graduated high school four years ago.
Starting point is 01:37:46 So you're the oldest one on your team. Oh, yeah, by far. Yeah. By far. I'm the captain. The captain is usually the most experienced player. Morgan number two, when did you graduate high school? 2012.
Starting point is 01:37:58 Yeah. I like that. What did you say? It's kind of like that. I thought you said you like that. No. I was like, Eddie, you said that out loud. My inner.
Starting point is 01:38:10 We didn't even know if you heard yourself. Eddie goes, well. I was like. Oh, Eddie likes that. No, I know what he's singing. No. The Bobby Bone Show is proud to be supported by Grand Canyon University, an affordable, private, nonprofit Christian university based in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona.

I'm the host of Ear Sart Audio Book Club. This week on the podcast, I'm sitting down with Ray Porter, the narrator of Andy Weir's audiobook Project Hail Mary, Massive. sci-fi adventure about survival and science. And what happens when you wake up alone very far from earth? I really had to make a decision because I caught myself getting that frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm narrating some of these sections. And it's like, okay, yo, yeah, yeah, yo, is this indulgent? And I really thought about it. I was like, no, at this point,
Starting point is 01:40:52 it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that, that, that, that, that, deeply emotionally affected me, and I left it on the mic. That's great. Because it served the story. People will say like, oh my God, I cried at the end. It's like, yeah, dude, me too. Listen to Earsay, the Audible and IHeart Audio Book Club on the IHart Radio app or wherever you get your podcasts.

Starting point is 01:42:03 Okay. This is the one-hit wonder. It's just a little example. It doesn't count. Here we got, number one. That's all I'm going to play right now, but that is Chenato Connor. She only has one hit. Yeah, basically. Wow.
Starting point is 01:42:18 She's really famous off one hit. Right. Wow. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, I second guessed when my brain went to her. But let's not get into the only have one hit because people will start tracking down weird charts. Oh, right. In Peru is number 63.
Starting point is 01:42:30 And just these, for the lack of a better turn, these are all one hit wonder. Yes. Okay, here we go. Uh, name the artist. By the way, Amy, Lunchbox, video producer Eddie and Morgan number two is playing. Name the artist. There it is hitman. Write it down.
Starting point is 01:42:50 And everybody gets eliminated right now. That is, whoop. There it is. I think I got this. Back again. Party, oh, crap. I was wondering why you did that. I was singing the song, dude.
Starting point is 01:43:07 Like. I got them, I'm not supposed to sing the wrong words. Don't judge me. Bones. I hate singing the wrong song. Sorry. I'm singing the wrong lyrics. Go ahead.
Starting point is 01:43:13 want to change my answer. You didn't say in, so I guess you did. All right, everybody in? In. Yes. I don't want everybody kicked off immediately. Amy, what do you have? Tag team?
Starting point is 01:43:25 Yes, correct. Oh, wow, thanks. Oh, wow. So hard. They're back again. They are back again. Lunchbox? Oh, man, this one was easy.
Starting point is 01:43:33 Tag team, guys. Eddie? Tag team. Did you have it? Yes. That's why he was so frustrated when I was going, Tag team, back again. Morgan number two
Starting point is 01:43:44 I'm gonna be honest I didn't hear you I have Sir Mix a lot Honesty So nice of you By the way You can watch this game live Go to Facebook.com slash Bobby Bone Show

Starting point is 01:44:03 She would have said Eddie And if he would have just kept seeing it I wouldn't have known Well Eddie called it out Yeah Eddie you did You didn't call it out They wouldn't have known
Starting point is 01:44:09 That's my fault now Well actually you did Did because I had Shaka. If you had you not called it out, you would have won in the first round. Okay. Name that one hit wonder. Are you ready? Ready.
Starting point is 01:44:23 How about this one? Jump around. Come back again. Oh. All right. That's jump around. Can you name that artist? Oh.
Starting point is 01:44:42 I'm in. One hit wonder. Name that artist. Jump around. I'm in for the win. Oh my gosh. I hope this is right. Everybody's in?
Starting point is 01:44:54 We're in. Okay. Amy? Jump Masters. Oh, the Jump Masters. Solid question. Oh, okay. Lunchbox.
Starting point is 01:45:01 I changed it to this. House of Pain? Oh, House of Pain? Is that it? Yes! Oh, what a change! What a change! What a change!
Starting point is 01:45:09 Did you have the Jump Masters? I had Chris Cross. Oh, no. MacD out. That'll make you. Okay. Eddie. House of Pain.
Starting point is 01:45:15 House of Pain. Who-hoo. Lunchbox is still in? Eddie's still in. All right. Mark that one out. Like that one out. Okay.
Starting point is 01:45:25 Name this one hit wonder. That one's too tough. Let's do this one. I got it. I have no idea. I got it for the win then. I got the movie. Does that count?
Starting point is 01:45:45 The movie? It's not named the movie the one hit wonder. It's from. I want to know what the hard one was. Yeah. Lunchbox do you in? Not yet, not yet. All right.
Starting point is 01:46:00 I mean, the movie is a night at the Roxbury. Need to answer lunchbox? Yeah, I'm in. Go with the Jump Masters. No, I'm in. Go ahead. Chris Catan. Eddie, for the win.
Starting point is 01:46:14 For the win, I know it 100%. Go ahead. Hadaway. Yeah! Eddie's a big one. Come on, Amy. I love ta-ta-ta-ta. To-da-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-tta-tow.
Starting point is 01:46:46 Tunch-ppuzz. He doesn't. Lach-Bunds never play anyone else's song. He gets mad when nobody else. It is. Right, I know. By the way, Eddie, they just passed me the results of yesterday's Chris draft. Yes.
Starting point is 01:47:01 You won the Chris draft. Yeah. With Christ. With Jesus. Chris Kringle and Christopher Columbus. Even with Christopher Columbus. Yeah, but you had Jesus. You were the winner. Eddie.
Starting point is 01:47:10 Awesome. Eddie dominated. Do you want to know who came in last or no? We did leave that off the board. Just say. Oh, last. Yeah. Oh, Amy, it was not you.
Starting point is 01:47:21 Oh, good. It was lunchbox. Who did he have? I forget. Lunchbox had. Chris Rock, Chris Martin, and Chris Cornell. I didn't do wonderful either. But we missed Chris Stapleton.
Starting point is 01:47:31 If you had Stapleton, probably, everybody would have done. a lot better. Eddie, congratulations. Thanks, Bones. You got a point on that. Thank you. Yeah, you're welcome. I win the Super Bowl. Of Chris's. Yes. You win the Chris Bowl. Are you a J-Lo fan?
Starting point is 01:47:45 Yes, I do. Not so much of her acting sometimes, but then when I go back and think about it, I really like the movie she's in, so I'm like, why am I hating on her acting? But yeah, her dancing. I just like that she can do it all. Well, she turned 50 yesterday. And Matt. I mean, that's goals.
Starting point is 01:48:02 Like, she does not live 50. She works out. She like takes care of her body. I love all her curves. Yeah, I think I have a crush on J-Lo. I was watching Cassie Ashton's Insta story yesterday and she was doing a whole like three-minute monologue and just how hot J-Lo is at 50.
Starting point is 01:48:18 Tribute. Yeah, it was pretty funny. She has a funny Instagram. The two people I like following Instagram, Cassie Ashton's funny. And Lainey Wilson, who's a new artist. They're both so funny on Instagram. Jennifer Lopez is rumored to be playing the 2020 halftime show in Miami.
Starting point is 01:48:32 and so that's one. Two, she turned 50 yesterday. And three, Alex Rodriguez bought her a $140,000 Porsche for her birthday. Oh, wow. Look at that. Arod gave J-Lo a red Porsche 9-11 GTS convertible for her birthday. It's safe to say the... Does she sing a song called Medicine?
Starting point is 01:48:49 Is that a new J-Lo song? The medicine singer is over the moon with her present. And the source revealed she's already put some miles on her baby. There you go. Wow. I follow A-Rod on Instagram. But I don't know. his past. I know y'all say like he was mean as a baseball player or something. He was known as a slime ball.
Starting point is 01:49:08 Slime ball. But people can change. Yeah. I'm also in the camp of I think you can actually learn and grow. I only know what he has to offer right now. Okay. There you go. It's entertaining.
Starting point is 01:49:18 He's like he. And then J-Lo, of course, she makes appearances. So that's how I feel like I've gotten to keep up with her too. Are you more of a J-Lo or Beyonce fan? J-Lo. I think I'd probably pick Beyonce. I guess I don't know. I don't have a Beyonce.
Starting point is 01:49:33 She doesn't do all the things J-Lo does. Oh, but she does things J-Lo does better than what J-Lo does. Oh, really? But again. Yeah, I don't know. Morgan number two, where do you fall on that? J-Lo or Beyonce? Definitely, Beyonce.
Starting point is 01:49:45 It's close to me because they're both pretty awesome. Mm-hmm. But I would go Beyonce. We have Lauren in Arkansas. Hey, Lauren, welcome to the Bobby Bone Show. How are you? I'm good. How are you?
Starting point is 01:49:57 Real good. What would you like to say? I just wanted to say, I just finished your first book. I'm not lonely if you're reading this. Oh, yes. Bare bones. I'm not lonely if you're reading this book. What a nutty title.
Starting point is 01:50:09 Yes, go ahead. Loved that book. It opened my eyes to the dynamics on the show and really who you were. And I have the next book on order, the fight, grind, repeat. Oh, yeah. Well, thank you. So I can't wait to get my hands on that and read it. But I just wanted to let you know that after reading that book, I think every listener should read that book.
Starting point is 01:50:30 that you be a requirement. I'm not going to argue with you, but what would you say you learned about me from reading that book that you didn't know? Mainly your personality. You seem a little sometimes harsh on the show towards other members
Starting point is 01:50:51 of the show and callers. You know, like the whole don't talk over the music. You run your show the way you run it. And I think you've always been that way. You have to have control over the situation because of just the way your mind works. And I can relate to you a lot in that aspect.
Starting point is 01:51:10 I'm done with you talking now. I'm just kidding. Like, I wish you were still here in Arkansas. I wish you were just a 30-minute drive away and then we can hang out. Well, I will be back in Arkansas one day. I will be the governor of that fine state, my home state, that is. Well, listen. If I ever see your name on the ballot, my vote's going to you.
Starting point is 01:51:27 You know, on the ballot, what would you be at? That's a great question. because my real last name is Estelle. And so I will have to legally change my middle name to Bones. By the way, for everybody that's new to the show, and that's not a secret, it's written everywhere. I've said it before.
Starting point is 01:51:42 When I was 17, I was forced to name Bones. He was like, okay, you need a radio name. You can be Bobby Z or Bobby Bones. And I was like, well, they're both kind of stupid. All right, I'll go with Bobby Bones. At least this is like a pirate. At least it sounds like a person. And so I picked Bobby Bones,
Starting point is 01:51:55 and it's just stuck with me everywhere that I've been. And that was in Arkansas. And so because people wouldn't know me about my my real last name, even though you could search it, it's there. I would put, I would legally change my middle name to Bones. And on the ballot, it would be Bobby, that would be a middle name. Right. That's what I would do. Okay.
Starting point is 01:52:11 Because I was like, ooh, you don't want people to get confused. I know. Because what if there's another Bobby? Maybe I would change my last name. I don't know. Like, I'm not particularly attached to my real last name. Governor Bones. I don't hate that.
Starting point is 01:52:22 Just because my, like my real last name, I don't have a relationship with really my biological father so it's not like I'm trying to you know keep that name alive. So maybe I just make up a new last name. Or maybe I get married and take her name. And all of a sudden I'm Bobby Beckinsale, you know? Ridiculous. Yeah. Lauren, are you still there? Yes.
Starting point is 01:52:45 You would vote for me though. Listen, here's my platform. Are you ready? This is me running for office. Being serious. Like everybody goes in for a singular reason and then you kind of spread that reason. I feel like a lot of politicians, they're able to be politicians. they're able to be politicians because they grew up rich
Starting point is 01:52:58 and not all of them but most of them almost all of them they grew up rich they didn't have to have a real job so they could actually get into politics rich people I don't resonate with rich people growing up with privilege I grew up very poor and I feel like I can speak for those people I'd be honest with you I'm not poor anymore but I'm always like poor inside of me
Starting point is 01:53:14 I was talking to Amy this morning about stuff and I was like I don't even understand what's happening here but I've been through those hardships and those times and I feel like I represent people that come from small towns and they grew up with that a lot and so that's why I would get in. Education is a big deal to me
Starting point is 01:53:30 because I did not have a good one. And you don't have a chance. You just don't have a chance unless you're given the resources to have a chance. So that would be my central theme. Those two things. Helping my people, the Po people.
Starting point is 01:53:45 And then helping my people, people that aren't getting an education. And then from there, we'll just see what else happens. I'll just kind of throw a dartboard and see what other things I'll land on. I like it. Taxes. We'll see.
Starting point is 01:53:56 Boom. Ah, no taxes. Lauren, how do you feel about that? Trust me, anybody that has done research on Arkansas, we need some help on the education department. I love the current governor there. I'll be honest with you. I'm a big fan of Governor Hutchison. However, one day that'll be my thing.
Starting point is 01:54:15 And then who knows? Maybe a shot at the old Oval. 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. You know what, then maybe I'll just create a world office. How do I do that? Just go up to the moon, building an office, and look down on the hall. be like, all right, everybody. I got some good plans.
Starting point is 01:54:28 All right, thank you. I hate that Lauren thinks I'm harsh to callers. I don't feel like I'm harsh to callers, do you? Yeah, I didn't know really what, or she also says you're harsh to us. Yeah, but sometimes you guys deserve it, though. Yeah, you guys deserve that, though. Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 01:54:39 But she didn't mention you guys are harsh to me. Lauren? No, because Amy's an angel. Oh, come on. Listen to that devil laugh over there. Yeah. Although, you're right. Amy is an angel, though.
Starting point is 01:54:52 But hey, are you thinking that times maybe he's yelled at me? Yes. And I think at times he didn't defend you when he should have. Don't lead the witness on. Oh, wow. I object. Overruled. Oh, come on.
Starting point is 01:55:04 You should have my back. You're so rude. I have your back all the time. I know, just kidding. And I'm not an angel over here. Yeah, you are. You kind of are, though. I tell people all the time about Amy Lauren.
Starting point is 01:55:14 They'll say, is Amy like as cool as she seems on the radio? And I'll say no. And they'll go, really? I'll go she's much, much cooler. Less. Like she. Stop. No, no.
Starting point is 01:55:24 Let me. No. I'm not even just saying this now. I've said it before multiple times. Amy is so much of a better person than even she allows on the radio. And maybe that's why sometimes I can look harsh because I'm kind of an angel myself. But next to you, I'm a dirt bag. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:55:39 How do you feel about that? There you go. That explains it. All right. Lauren, thank you for the call. By the way, Eddie and I will be playing in Lurrock. Speaking of angels? No, no.
Starting point is 01:55:49 Oh, no. Speaking the opposite of angels. Whatever. Eddie's so nice. Eddie is really nice. Thank you guys. Our comedy duo. Yeah, my husband is actually, I'm surprising him with tickets for that show.
Starting point is 01:55:58 Oh, you're coming. Oh, cool. Yeah. I'm the only one clapping. All right. Love it. Well, Lauren, thank you for calling. All right.
Starting point is 01:56:05 Have a good day. Bye-bye. Well, listen, we had a whole couple of segments planned there, but we didn't get into it because I like that. I like when callers call in and kind of throw us a curd ball. By the way, next Friday in Chicago and then September 14th and Loder Rock, Raging Idiots.com. That's our comedy duo.
Starting point is 01:56:22 I do feel like we can want a CMA in the next three or four. Oh gosh, that'd be so nice. I got big plans for Dan and Shay. Maybe a little snip, snip. Yeah. Under their hood. What do you mean? Like, no, not.
Starting point is 01:56:33 You want to break them up? Not. Yeah, what? Cut the brakes. Oh, cut up. Oh, yes. Not a snip, snip, like, they can't have babies. I was like, wow, it's going hard.
Starting point is 01:56:42 Okay. No. It's like, wow. Are we doing Amy's, tell me something good next. Is that what's up? Amy's got to tell me something good. They say dogs are a man's best friend. But in this case, they are one man's hero.
Starting point is 01:56:54 Literally. Oh, I love a good dog story. This morning, you know how to wake me up faster than anything, not an alarm. My dog going, bleh, like throwing up. Oh. I woke up early, early. Took my dog, walked him around the front. And I was like, I don't mind him hanging out in the bedroom because it's not, he doesn't sleep with me.
Starting point is 01:57:12 And he can hop up in the bed like every few days, just hang out. And I'm like, all right, just hang out. And he's a puppy. He's 11 weeks old or so. I lay my head down and I hear, bleh. And I'm like, whoa. He's puked in the bed. Because I fed him and then I took him outside too quick.
Starting point is 01:57:27 Yeah. Then I was up. I was up and at him. That's funny because that will wake up real quick. It's like, ooh. Because you're not even the sound that you worry about your dog. You're worried about your covers. Right.
Starting point is 01:57:37 You're like, oh my goodness. Now my comforter is going to be stained. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So there's this 87-year-old guy. He decides to go hiking, lives in Maryland, and he tried to grab a stick for his dogs to play with.
Starting point is 01:57:55 and he got stuck in the mud. But then he started to sink. He, like, walked out a little too far. In the mud. Yeah, and he gets, like, knee deep, and he cannot move, and he's continuing to sink. So his dogs are like, hey, what's happening? They decided to run off to a nearby trail where people were running and biking, and they just barked until somebody would listen to them and follow them.
Starting point is 01:58:18 And finally, some guy riding his bike was like, okay, these dogs are acting too crazy. Like, I'm going to go see what this is about. and they led the guy to their 87-year-old owner and saved his life. He was stuck in the mud for like over an hour. I know some of you kids may not get this reference, but that's for real modern day lassie type stuff. Yes, it is.
Starting point is 01:58:39 Like Timmy's in the well, except that's probably Timmy. Yeah, 87 now. Firefighters were called. They were able to set him free. And I'm going to be honest, if I'm riding by on my bike and dogs are just barking, I'm probably like, why that somebody has those dogs on lease?
Starting point is 01:58:53 Right, I know. So good for that. cyclists too for seeing the dogs and following them. This is good all around. That's what I say about dogs. People, I think I invented the saying, but dogs are a man's best friend. Did I invent that? I've never heard that before. Oh, it's not, that's new. All right, Amy, thank you. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Starting point is 02:02:53 or like yesterday, a lot of people were sharing the Thomas Rep. Bobbycast, they were tagging me. It's such a good podcast, and not because of me, but because of Thomas Red. And it was really his first time to sit down for an hour with anyone and just talk. And so, and I hope you check it out. Podcasts are free. A lot of first-time podcasters were tagging me yesterday. All you have to do is pull up IHartRadio, which is free and search Bobbycast. And you can get this episode for free. All episodes are free. But Thomas Wrett talked about no matter what he posts on Instagram, somebody always has to comment with something ridiculous. It doesn't matter what you or I post. There's going to be something ridiculous on there. I posted a picture yesterday. The first comment was shave your beard. You know what I'm saying? I'm like, first of all, what are you doing in your life that you have time to just say that to me? You're I'm saying like or like hey bend the bill of your hat but okay let me play devil's advocate because I agree what a dumb thing but you remember that like right now that's what I'm saying I'm giving that person a thing
Starting point is 02:03:51 he also talked about how him and Chris Stapleton used to write all the time together I mean Stapleton used to write like two times a week back when I was maybe like 20 years old 2010 2011 we used to write all the time man I was digging through my drop box other day of songs written before 2015 and there's so many Stapleton work tapes and songs that I still think could be, could be, you know, viable to record on a record of mine today. It means they won't have written once, maybe in four years, but that's just because that dude is so busy now. We're both so busy, but he used to love writing on Stapleton. You know, when he came over to the house where I do this podcast, it's in my upstairs,
Starting point is 02:04:24 and it was the day before he announced he was having a baby. And so he was like, I'll talk about it. And I was like, well, we'll hold it off until he can do the announcement. But we talk all about that and how his wife's pregnant again. And he said he's happy he's having a girl, but he does. want to have a boy one day. I think before we had kids, I always thought that I was meant to be kind of the dad that had boys.
Starting point is 02:04:42 But now that I've had girls, my heart has softened so much. And I've never looked at anybody like I look at my girls. Like, it is nuts. The emotion that you feel, I'm beyond excited to have a girl. But I do look forward to hopefully
Starting point is 02:04:53 having a boy one day. If you're a Thomas Wrett fan, let me encourage you to check out the newest episode of the Bobbycast. Number 189, episode 189. Check it out. Good dude. Like, that's real of the superstars.
Starting point is 02:05:05 Like he's a real dude. Yeah. And a lot of them are in country music. Most of them are. But yeah, he's a real dude. So what are you doing today, Amy? I'm riding in the good year blimp. How'd you manage that?
Starting point is 02:05:17 Well, so I go to Moody's Tires. It's like a local business here. And then that's where I take my car. They have Goodyear tires. I also endorse for them. And they are celebrating like a big anniversary. And they have the Goodyear Blimp. And at first I was like scared.
Starting point is 02:05:34 And I was like, well, I'll come. I'm not getting in the blimp. Like, I don't understand how blimp works. And then... Like the real one or like a fake one? Like a little one? No, I think this is the real good year blimp. I don't know if they have like, you know, smaller...
Starting point is 02:05:47 I don't know. I mean, I'm assuming it's a legit one because it's good year. Good year tires. Good year. Moody tires. Like, it all makes sense to me that I feel like I'm with like really safe, legit people. But I don't... Nobody I know has ever been in a blimp.
Starting point is 02:06:02 So I'm a little nervous. Your husband's a pilot. What does he say? He said, if he said, if he said, it's the Goodyear blimp, he's fine with it. Yeah. He's like, if it's a good year. What if it's like the good fear blimp?
Starting point is 02:06:11 It's a secondary time. It's like good year. No, if I, honestly, I'm getting nervous like to where like if I show up and it's not a good year, like legit, then I might be like, oh, I'm not feeling so well. Where do they take you? Up. I don't know. Just up.
Starting point is 02:06:26 I don't know. And that's the thing. Trust us. Where are we going? Up. So, listen. Do you know that it's called a lighter than air air air ship? That's what a blimp is.
Starting point is 02:06:35 because I've been Googling because I just don't even understand how it stays up there. It's sort of like a hot air balloon but they can move forward with their own power. So we're gonna be like, I feel like I'm like in the Jetsons.
Starting point is 02:06:47 That's a pretty big deal. Listen, the Goodyear Blimps everywhere famous. That would be cool. I would probably do it just because how often do you get to be in the Goodyear Blimp, the Wiener Mobile. There are only a few times you would ever even see these things,
Starting point is 02:06:58 much less get to be in one. Right. They can travel like helicopters and in all kinds of weather. I saw where you can Airbnb, be the Oscar Meyer Weiner mobile. Oh, really? Like sleep in it. It's like $100 a night or something in some town and you can
Starting point is 02:07:10 Airbnb it and just take it and stay in it. I would do that, I think, just for a night to be able to stay. I'm sure it's not the most comfortable. But yeah, I saw that. I do get a bunch of emails from you guys and sometimes we just kind of knock them out all at once. Ramundo has the pile of emails. Ramundo works in the glass room
Starting point is 02:07:27 and actually runs all the sound. Ramundo, how you, bud? Good. Everything good in your life? Yeah. How's your girlfriend? Oh, she's doing real good. Yeah? Yeah. She went I believe she was at some restaurant bar last night just living it up. I was like, I got to go to bed. So yeah, she's living life. This is the summer of love for you, as you've said. You expect to be engaged
Starting point is 02:07:42 this summer? Yes, still on schedule right now. It's still the summer of love. You're telling that. Absolutely. All right. Email number one, Ramundo. Who would Bobby take on family feud if they go back? Well, first of all, I don't know that I'm going to be able to go back. We did get invited back. I was thinking about
Starting point is 02:07:59 I had Arkansas Keith on yesterday. I think if I go, I'll take legit family if I can. for once. So I think I would take Arkansas Keith. Eddie will go. Yeah, family. If I have a girlfriend, she'll go. Oh. So we'll see. Again, we're so far out. I like to get everybody involved, just like I did on that show. So I don't know. I don't even know Raymondo that we're going to go back because it could conflict with idle taping. Yeah. But I think Arkansas Keith would be funny on that show. It should be awesome. So I don't know. We're probably four or five months away from taping another
Starting point is 02:08:30 episode. But that's kind of the thought process on that right now. All right, next email. What's everyone's drink at dinner or at the bar? Everyone's drink. What is your drink? Like at a dinner bar out. Tequila, blanco. That girl. Meat with lemons on the side.
Starting point is 02:08:48 Lunchbox? I love a shot of tequila. I'll take a beer. I'll take anything you want to give me. Eddie? Beer. Straight up beer. I'm a big, do you know my name?
Starting point is 02:08:58 Well, sometimes it's a Shirley Temple. Yeah, I would lead Charlie Temple. Yeah. Really? Over the Virgin Pinoa. lot of? Not all places always have that though. Yeah, that's like treat. Okay. That's vacation. Summer. And heavy. And heavy. It's like br, right. He's cannot be on TV. I got to skip like five mills if I'm going to have one of those. Another email, Ray. What does Bobby talk with artists about during
Starting point is 02:09:17 commercials? Ooh. Oh, because you can watch that now and you see it sitting here. It's different every time. I'm not a big fan of small talk, which is why sometimes we bring them in live during the show because I don't want to be like, one, I don't want to talk about anything substantial because we'll miss it on the air. And then two, I just am not good at saying words that are just floaters. Yeah. Marin Morris was there yesterday. And I know Marin a bit off the air too.
Starting point is 02:09:41 So we were talking about our dogs and Ryan. And I was just asking her how it was going with the... Like if you have mutual friends with somebody, that will come up. Yes. It's awkward, though, sometimes if someone's in here and I'm not close to them. Because then what do you say? Sometimes it's like, hey, you should go cut your liners for all. for the network right on the hallway out there
Starting point is 02:10:02 and come back in three minutes. But it's more of an issue now with the new studio where we have to sit here and talk. I had a decent talk with Billy Ray Cyrus during commercials. I like him a lot. We were just like, hey man, you should come out, come out to the, he was inviting me out to his house.
Starting point is 02:10:15 Come right four-wheelers and stuff. And I'll never take him up on it. But it's very kind of him to do it. I would feel so ridiculous. That's like that time Billy Curington was like, come to Hawaii. He was my number. He was dead serious.
Starting point is 02:10:26 And I love them for that. It's very kind. And they meant it. They absolutely mean it. I just would feel ridiculous. Walking up to Billy Ray's house. Hey, Billy Ray, remember that time he told me I could come? I'm here.
Starting point is 02:10:38 Remember that time? Four-wheelers? Remember that time you said I'd come right, Fort Willers? But you and Miley? I'm here. You said we could do whatever. Let's do some whatever. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:10:51 Yeah. It's different every time, but I try not to make it awkward. Raymond Do you have another question? Yeah, if your rap name is young and the last thing that made you happy, What's your rap name? Okay. Young plus the last thing that made you happy. Amy, what's your rap name?
Starting point is 02:11:07 Young macha. Young macha. I literally just poured this and I took my first sip a minute ago and it made me so happy. So yeah, young macha. I took my dog out this morning and he is using the bathroom outside the house perfectly. I think I'd be young puppy poop. That'd be my rapper name. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:11:25 Because he goes out. He's house trained. We are so hardcore. Young macho latte and young puberty. Pupy poop. Yo, yo, yo, young puppy poop. You, you. Lunchbox, what would be your rap name?
Starting point is 02:11:36 Ooh, I don't know. I won't say that one on air. I don't know if I'm allowed to say that. So I'll say Young Cinnamon Roll. Oh, young cinnamon roll. That made you happy. He's hardcore. Eddie?
Starting point is 02:11:44 We just got a cookie cake from the store, and we ate it all last night. So I would be Young Cookie Cake. That's pretty tough. Yeah, where did you get the cookie cake? Kroger. The grocery store. Dude, you could be Young Kroger cookie cake. Get all that literation.
Starting point is 02:11:58 What? Young Kroger cookie cake. All cake. Oh, KKKK. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, I can't do that. No, no, no, no, no, that doesn't sound right. Never mind.
Starting point is 02:12:06 Bad, bad. Abort. Back up. Maybe you do all C's. Yeah, okay. Young Crokech Kroger would see. C, C, C, C, C, but Krober would be C. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You can tell we don't go with these bits before.
Starting point is 02:12:18 No, we don't. We can get on the air. Morgan number two, by the way, head of digital, what would be your, your rapper name Young, plus the last thing that made you happy? Probably be Young, Taco Bell. Oh. That's funny. We're the lamest rap group in the history of hip-hop.
Starting point is 02:12:34 All right. Raymondo, is that it? Yeah, that's all I got. All right, those are the emails. Keep sending them. So yesterday I talked about how we were blocked by Team Lil Nas X
Starting point is 02:12:45 of putting up old folks home. So we could not put it up on the streaming platforms. Iheart radio or Spotify or Apple or Amazon. They said, no. I was like, man, what a Weird Al got all this hate? Because Weird Al lived off parodies.
Starting point is 02:12:58 And so I said, well, you can still watch it on YouTube. Well, then they pulled it off YouTube. I thought for a minute we had a place that were going to let us do it. It ended up not going so well. So you can't find it anywhere, actually, except here on the radio. Yeah. So here is, we're still going to play it.
Starting point is 02:13:11 We're going to play it at the Opry Friday night. I think you should. And we're going to play in Chicago. We're going to play it every show. And the crowd's going to go wild because that's the only place they can hear it. We're trying to be censored right now. Here is, this is called Old Folks Home, a parody of Old Town Road by the Raging idiots enjoy my friends sometimes you gotta make tough decisions for me ma'am this is that song
Starting point is 02:13:42 shout out to me ma yeah i'm gonna take me ma to the other folks home she gonna so just she can no more she can't no more she's wear grew up in the south she's walking with the cane she broke her hip but she's okay yeah you two o'clock you'll meet us but she's got diabetes bingo in the evening her nurse is name is Stephen. Can't nobody tell her nothing? Because she can't hear nothing. Can't nobody? She can't hear no more. I don't she can't know more. Stand back, watch out. Here comes me ma. Got a new inhaler for her if a Zma. Riding down the freeway but her blinker is broken. Gonna make it do the mall to power walk before
Starting point is 02:14:55 it opens. She can't get back up She's got a little bit of insured In her cup I gotta take me mock to the old folks home Where she can sewed till she can't know more There you go Old folks home by the raging idiots
Starting point is 02:15:13 Which by the way I posted it and Volnazzex posted it on the back And I'm gonna tell you I didn't wasn't bothered at all by the trolls I never clicked out reply once I never looked at one single person writing Meen and I
Starting point is 02:15:27 That's a metaphor for how I live my life now. You don't want to feel bad. Don't be around bad people. And so I posted, oh, we got blocked. And then Lola-Nazex was like, why are you going to say that? And then all his people were coming at me, but I never looked at them.
Starting point is 02:15:40 So let's take away from that situation. I think in general, if we just remove ourselves from toxic situations, we just feel better. I never once clicked that reply yesterday. And I'm sure I was getting hammered. But you know what? Life goes on.
Starting point is 02:15:53 Today, there's some other dumb scandal, although I do love scandals. I love a scandal where nobody's doing anything illegal or getting hurt. Good for business. And nobody was getting hurt. Yeah. But never clicked out reply. It felt pretty good about the whole situation. I read some of them for you. Oh yeah. But I'm not going to bring that toxicity into your life. Thank you. But I never clicked at reply. And I felt pretty good about it. I don't even know. Actually, I didn't like go seek it out. Somehow I was being, I guess, added on because maybe they thought you'd have more of a chance of seeing it if they tagged all your friends.
Starting point is 02:16:25 Oh, yeah. So just you and Eddie. That's it. Okay, so that happened yesterday. Although I still think Lil Nas X is awesome. I was just a little frustrated with the whole situation. By the way, you can see Lil Nas X. This is my pivot. Nice. Yeah, thank you. Watch CMA Fest Sunday, August 4th at 87 Central on ABC.
Starting point is 02:16:43 It's a three-hour special, hosted by Thomas Rec, Kelsey Ballerini, and myself. Special collaborations, including Lil Nas X, joined by Billy Ray Cyrus and Keith Urban. I wonder if Eddie and I come out and do our part in this. You should watch and see if we come out and do it. Just in case. Yeah, yeah, just in case. Kelsey Ballerini and the chain smokers, Marin Morris and Brandy Carlis and Tim McGraw and Luke Combs.
Starting point is 02:17:01 It's going to be awesome. CMAFest, 8-7 Central, August 4th on ABC. CMAFest.com for more to tell us. August 4th. If today's the 25th, so it's in like a little over two weeks. Or a little over a week? Let me look at my calendar here. Dots.
Starting point is 02:17:17 25th, that's today. One week is August 1st. Oh, it's in like a week in a few days. Yeah. Look at that. Like this Sunday, it'll be exactly a week. Thank you. Boom.
Starting point is 02:17:26 I can always count on Amy to guide me through it. So I know that you and your daughter, who's 12, have been watching Friends. Yes. And for the most part, that's been good. Yeah. I mean, so far, I've been worried sometimes about the content, but some of it is just so over her head. Well, honestly, Stevenson's watching too. So it's over.
Starting point is 02:17:48 I know. Over their head that we all just get to watch it together and laugh. And it's so fun because it's actually, I mean, for me, honestly, friends is a way better than like the 13th time of seeing Supergirl. Okay, so you're watching it, but now something has come up. Yeah. So Shira comes to me and says, and I guess she was watching it with him out of me at this point. And she was like, hey, mom, can a girl get pregnant if she's not married?
Starting point is 02:18:13 It's almost like she thought in order for the pregnancy thing to magically happen, you had to be married or it wouldn't work. And so I was like, oh, well, yeah, actually, you know, no, you don't have to be married to get pregnant, you can get pregnant. And so, but then I'm like, where is this coming from? Like school, maybe. No, I mean, well, she's at summer. Like, I don't know. I don't know where she, maybe volleyball camp. Yeah, did it come up? It's one of the, I don't know. But I say, why, why? Why are you asking this?
Starting point is 02:18:41 And she's like, well, Rachel is pregnant and she is not married. On friends. Mm-hmm. And so I guess she just got to the episode where Chandler and Monica are getting married and Phoebe finds the pregnancy test in the trash and then it turns out to be Rachel's. And they, I don't know if it's revealed like who the dad is yet, but she's really, she just was like, she didn't know how that happened? Because if Rachel's not married, how in the world would she get pregnant? I had the same question when I was younger. And I remember going to my mom watching family ties and a girl was pregnant on there. And I was like, wait, how does this happen? I don't
Starting point is 02:19:14 understand. I remember her going, when you're 12, I'll tell you. And then she never told me. Yeah. I still don't know. If anyone would like to volunteer that information off the year. Yeah. Tell them, Amy. Okay. Well, no, because I barely, I started to go into that conversation with Stashear because I haven't, we haven't explained exactly how it works. When I got there, I was like, you know what? We'll just talk about it later.
Starting point is 02:19:36 When you're 13. Yeah, it was fine. You're going to have to have that conversation. Oh, I know. Believe me. You want to update on the school lunch that. Yes. So this is what happened.
Starting point is 02:19:47 Two days ago, there's a school in Pennsylvania. They're like, these kids can't afford their lunches. or they're not paying for them. We're $22,000 owed. Right. And we're sending out notes to the parents. Like, you've got to pay your school lunches. Some of the parents owed $10 or kids and some of them owed, what, $450, no matter what?
Starting point is 02:20:04 So then this guy goes, hey, I got some money and I'd like to help. The CEO of La Columbia Coffee says, I'll give you all $22,000 to pay for all these kids lunches and breakfasts. Amazing. And the school refuses. So now more backlash. finally the school district said, okay, we'll now accept the offer,
Starting point is 02:20:24 calling it a generous donation. It so happens, the school district now qualifies for the community eligibility program, meaning all students in the district will receive free breakfast and lunches for the next five years. Wow.
Starting point is 02:20:36 Which is great. Yes. How do they not know that already? Oh, wow. That whole, like, we're taking your kids away from you or calling... We're going to call CPS.
Starting point is 02:20:45 Yeah, CPS for your $10 lunch bill or whatever. And then someone comes to swoop. and save the day and you're like, nah, we're good. We do have the kids taken away. You know, and now that they're saying that they want it, what if that guy's like, sorry, snooosh-lose. Should have taken it to want you to have a chance. A 26-year-old guy was sentenced to six years probation.
Starting point is 02:21:06 He posed as a high school kid in Texas to play basketball. Oh, man. Which that part of is pretty cool. I guess so. Yeah, it'd be cool to be 26 and play, like in a lower league. Domination. Single A and be good. As long as it's just to play basketball.
Starting point is 02:21:19 What it wasn't? Did he get a girlfriend? That's what happened. He really got him in trouble. Okay. He dated a 14-year-old and got probation. Oh. He received five years probation for tampering with the government record.
Starting point is 02:21:30 And then also he got indecency with a child because he's 26 and she's 14. That part is not good. No. But really, if you could be right now, if I could go and play junior high basketball. Yeah, man. And not even on a good team because I'd probably not be good even then like to ninth or tenth or tenth graders. And I need to see what this guy looks like. How in the world are you that basketball coach or whomever at that school?
Starting point is 02:21:50 He just dominates. No. A 26-year-old, like, I feel like a 26-year-old and a 14-year-old is very different. Yeah. To date, yes. To play basketball? You know. Doesn't matter?
Starting point is 02:22:03 Just show me buckets. That's all I care about. Let's see. What's happening? Amy, what's going on today? I'm riding in a blimp today. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:22:10 So I get a little, you know, nervous about that. But that's going to take up a chunk of my day. How long is that going to take? I got to drive to Smyrna. and then... Smyrna. Smyrna? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:22:22 I say Smyrna. No, you don't. Yeah, I do. Yeah, when I talk about it, I do because my husband likes the airport out there. Go ahead. Smyrna? I don't know, but like a chunk of my afternoon, I'm trying to decide if I should take my son out of camp to go right in the Goodyear Blimp. Why would you know?
Starting point is 02:22:39 It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I know. But he really likes camp. And so, I don't know. That's the debate right now. But we'll figure it out before I leave work. I vote take him out. Really?
Starting point is 02:22:48 Yeah, I vote to take him out. All right, so that, what about you? I have a friend in town for like three hours. So I'm going to lunch. Then I have an interview. I'm looking at my schedule with TV Insider today. Oh, about what? I don't know.
Starting point is 02:23:01 Let me see. Oh, to promote CMA Fest on ABC coming up August 4th. Cool. And then I have a haircut at three. I have a workout at four. I have a conference call at 5.30. Then I have my night from like 6 to 8.30. and I work on the show again.
Starting point is 02:23:20 Yeah. Have it two and a half hours of Bobby time today. That's the deal. Lunchbox, have birthday. Thank you. I hope you guys go do something fun. Yeah. Don't know what it is yet.
Starting point is 02:23:28 You should tell us tomorrow. Yeah. I mean, I hope we do something fun too. She better. You know what I'm saying. Oh, that's what you're hoping. Oh. No, I'm saying like a good time with my wife.
Starting point is 02:23:38 Yeah. No, I'm saying. Thank you guys. We will see you tomorrow. Chris Lane and Lauren Bushnell will be in tomorrow on the Friday morning conversation. Obviously, he's got some big songs. and she won the Bachelor. Am I right?
Starting point is 02:23:52 She won? Did she win? I think she... Wasn't she engaged to Ben Higgins? Yeah, she was engaged to Ben Higgins, so I guess you... Oh, yeah. We met them in Vegas. They were shooting their reality show at the time.
Starting point is 02:24:06 Yes. So she won the Bachelor, and they're not together anymore. Now she's engaged to Chris Lane, who's a friend of ours, country music artist. Do you have a clip of Chris Lane's song Fix, Raimundo? Or is our computer still down? Let's see. Three. Our computer's been down all day.
Starting point is 02:24:21 Two, one. Moment of truth. No, no, nothing. It's still broke. Wow. Maybe it's not broke. Maybe I just don't have a clip. I got you fixed.
Starting point is 02:24:29 We'll just go with it's broke. All right, listen, we'll see you tomorrow. Thank you very much. Friday show is going to have the dance party.
