The Bobby Bones Post-Show Pre-show. I just got invited to play basketball tonight, but I never get invited to play basketball.
Starting point is 00:02:14 With like a bunch of guys? Who? And then I got to go play the opera. Oh, right. Who invited you to play basketball? That sounds fun. I know. It's somebody I really like.
Starting point is 00:02:25 He's a singer. But I don't want to say his business. Guard Brooks. Garbrew. Oh. Dang. I don't want to say what it is because in case he's like trying to play Incognito.
Starting point is 00:02:34 Okay. But that had been fun, huh? Yeah. Yeah. But you do always worry about getting hurt when you... Yeah, but I... Because you play hard. But I don't play well.
Starting point is 00:02:43 And I guess that's a bad mix. If you don't play well and you play hard, you probably get hurt. But yeah. Let me start with some stuff. Number one, I read that Liam Hemsworth did not know about Miley Cyrus splitting up with him until he saw it on social media. Yeah, he learned when we did. That's why I saw online.
Starting point is 00:02:58 Amy? I don't know. That's crazy. That would be a weird way to live your life. Find out that on, you know, the tabloids. Sources tell page six that Liam was blindsided when Miley's people sent out a statement saying they had agreed to separate. And he's like, wait, what? He was in Australia at the time.
Starting point is 00:03:18 Had no idea his wife of eight months was dumping him. Wow. And then he saw the pictures of him kissing that other girl. Her kissing that other girl. Yeah, her, yeah. right? But really? I don't know. No, I don't, but I mean... My question is, do you believe that?
Starting point is 00:03:35 Maybe there's some truth to it. Like, maybe they discuss the separation, but we're going to keep this private for now. And then he learned that the whole world was going to know. Maybe that's a good. He didn't get a heads up like, hey, we're putting this out. Maybe that. But I find it hard to believe that that's how she delivers the news, you know?
Starting point is 00:03:52 I feel like Miley's better than that. Do you? Yeah. From your experience with her? Yes. but which Miley's playing iHeart radio festival this weekend Amy's not going anymore her dad because her dad really she's gonna stay with him he just moved here she got
Starting point is 00:04:07 yeah I just had to make that decision but it's the right one yeah I completely agree yeah she called she said I need to talk and I'm like what's happening what's wrong I was in Los Angeles and she was like when you get a few minutes if you could dedicate some time I don't think I was that dramatic and I called her in like 30 seconds and so I'm like let's talk right now And she's like, I don't, like my dad, I don't feel like, and I'm like, cool, don't worry about it, done. No problem, I'll cover you.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Whatever we're supposed to do, I'll go do it. And if I can't, somebody else will. And so, but then she's like, but I already bought clothes. And then she's trying to convince herself to go in. Well, there's a lot that goes into it. I just want to make sure that the company was good. And then Bobby's like, you'll have other things you can wear stuff too. Yeah, like we have other events.
Starting point is 00:04:50 I know. It wasn't even about that. I was just like thinking of all the reasons. Like, I just felt so prepared to go. and then everything in me was like, this is not the right time to go, so you need to talk to Bobby. One of the top reasons you're getting sick
Starting point is 00:05:02 is your TB's remote control. Yeah. Because it's a great place for bacteria to multiply since it's never cleaned. This is in your home. Imagine a hotel, which I'm in frequently. You also touch you five or two times a day while you're eating and putting your hands to your face.
Starting point is 00:05:17 So you're putting stuff on, but never cleaning it off. Pets are also playing with it or laying on it or sense putting in their mouths. A recent study, that remote controls were among the dirtiest surfaces in your home. E. coli, fecal matter, actual dirt, saliva, all of that. All of that's there. So I did see that.
Starting point is 00:05:35 But you know what, doorknoves on the insides of hotel rooms and remotes, I try to stay away from. If I have to grab it, I always grab it with a shirt or something. Because they don't clean that. I love when public restrooms have those little foot thingies where you can open the door with your foot. Yeah. Genius. Like on the bottom of the door. Yes.
Starting point is 00:05:55 The age old question, how much better is organic than conventional? I know you're about to tell me that it's... No, no, you don't know what I'm about to tell you. Yeah, I know I read it. Oh, you had read the story? Yeah. Well, then you know. And I read it and I was like...
Starting point is 00:06:07 Don't do it like that. Like, I'm going to... I assume you... No, you don't assume I'm going to tell you, you read the story. Okay, yes. Yeah. So there's no difference? Experts say to stop buying organic produce.
Starting point is 00:06:17 Really? Here's what I have to say about that. Let me finish the story of what I have to say first. Organic produce is generally almost 50% higher, but is not worth the cost. Quote, we've been pushed by celebrities to put organic on a pedestal. But all health experts all admit organic
Starting point is 00:06:33 is more popular, but not necessarily any more healthy. In fact, scientists found there isn't even statistically a small nutritional difference in organic versus conventional. After various diets for weight loss, endurance, and blood pressure were conducted, they're like, there's no difference. They found that organic vegetables
Starting point is 00:06:49 also aren't any tastier than conventional vegetables. Amy, you're up. Oh, well, I try to go with the whole clean 15 dirty dozen. That is how I buy my fruits and vegetables now. Clean 15 dirty dozen. The clean 15 are the ones that you're safe to buy conventional. Buy them organic if you want to.
Starting point is 00:07:10 If you can't, they're too expensive, whatever. Buy conventional. The dirty dozen, you should because like pesticides and stuff seep into those and it's really hard to even wash it off. The clean 15 is what? The clean 15. They're cleaner. Like an avocado has a really thick, like.
Starting point is 00:07:26 But what am I missing? 15 what? 15. Fruits and vegetables. Produce. Produce. So I had Dr. Oz on my podcast, and I've heard about the clean 15 and the dirty dozen. Do I have to know what those 15 are?
Starting point is 00:07:37 You can Google it. It's right there on your phone. You're always got your phone with you. If you're at the grocery store, if you're at the grocery store and you're like, oh, man, should I buy strawberries? Is they part of the dirty dozen or the clean 15? Dirty dozen. Okay, so then what I do for a dirty dozen?
Starting point is 00:07:51 Well, dirty dozen. You should try to invest in organic if you can. can. If not, wash them like three times. Okay, here's the dirty dozen. So we're saying spinach, strawberries, kale, nectarines, apples, peaches, cherries, pears, tomatoes, all of those in the dirty dozen, you're supposed to get organic? If you can. Because of pesticide absorption, like being able to clean them and I don't know other reasons. They clean 15. These are the ones that are super okay to buy organic. Avocados, pineapples, and it's because they're outer layers are so thick. It's okay to buy them not organic. Call the flower, broccoli,
Starting point is 00:08:25 mushrooms, honeydew melons. Forever the reason, the way that they are harvested or the outer part that they have, like, they are considered part of the clean list and go ahead and save your money. I'm never going to remember that. Well, she just told me, get your phone. She just lectured me. You don't have your phone. You don't have to remember, just pull it up
Starting point is 00:08:41 on your phone. Yeah. I don't know. That's what I buy. I don't know. And that's just me because I'm that freak about, I'm scared about cancer and all the things. That doesn't make you a freak? I know. I have a ton of cancer on my family as well. And I also. I also. I'm worried about it. I just don't want people to ever come off that I'm trying to be, it's not like a better than anybody thing or I'm doing it because a celebrity told me so.
Starting point is 00:09:00 You do do stuff because celebrities told you. Well, if I see them doing it on Instagram sometimes, yeah? Miriam Webster, Miriam Webster, Miriam Webster announced the 533 new words are adding to the dictionary. Let's do them all in order. Here we go. Number one. No, I give you some of them. Amy, tell me if you know what they mean. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:21 A dad joke. has been added this year. What's a dad joke? It's like my morning corny. It's a wholesome joke told by fathers with a punchline that it's often an obvious or predictable pun. Sometimes it's too obvious. Y'all think my joke is not good. Vacay. Vacation. Correct. Deep state. What's deep state? Deep. Happens to politics a bit where they talk about the deep state?
Starting point is 00:09:46 I don't know. It's an alleged secret network of especially government officials operating extra legally to influence and enact government policy. Oh, wow. So, like, people working underneath the covers to make the bed work. Like, secretly work under the covers and make the bed work.
Starting point is 00:10:02 Got it. Inspo. Inspiration. Boom, good. Escape room. The place you go to try to escape for fun. Like, yeah. You would go to your closet,
Starting point is 00:10:13 but that's not an escape room. Escape room was like the game. Yeah. A game which participants can find to it. Yeah. Those are just four of them. Tall boy made the list, too, I thought. Oh, nice.
Starting point is 00:10:23 The beer? Just now? I don't know. I just read a headline earlier. I assume it was for you know what that is, Bones? Yeah, it's a tall beer. How many ounces? 44?
Starting point is 00:10:32 No. That would be a lot. A 40. Probably 32, I would think, is a tall boy. And then 40s are like big glasses. Wait, Mike's looking at you like you're not right. Really? I thought Tall boy was 16.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Mike D, look at me. Who drinks beer? Yeah, but Tallboy is 16. I saw a video of him drinking lots of beers one time on YouTube. Tallboy is what? 16? Oh. So it's like a bottle.
Starting point is 00:10:53 now where I come from Oh shut up You can't do that Change of fact Because where you come from That wasn't the fact Come on Where I come from
Starting point is 00:11:00 It's 40 Right That's a 40 That's a 40 Right Bones You went like Trenta
Starting point is 00:11:06 Dahl boy That's the biggest one At Starbucks right Trenta Yeah Vinti I don't know Trenta doesn't come out of my mouth
Starting point is 00:11:14 Ever Well no It should Because you It's the biggest One And sometimes I forget So I just
Starting point is 00:11:20 When I'm ordering I say That biggest one you have Ramundo says a country song that we listen to every day is completely inaccurate. This is a note I have. I'm not sure what this is about. So I'm calling out my boy Chris Lane. He wrote, it's his new hit.
Starting point is 00:11:33 I think it's about to go number one that I don't know about you song. Yeah, hey, what's your birthday? And it's him meeting a girl for the first time. And the first three things he asked her, maybe he'll ask what a girl's name is. Do you have the clip? You ready for that? Oh, is it when he says what kind of beard do you like? Here.
Starting point is 00:11:50 What's your name? What's your sign? What's your name? That's fine. What's your sign? Okay, go ahead. Who gives a rip what a girl? I still don't know what my girlfriend's sign is.
Starting point is 00:12:00 I know I'm a Virgo. Maybe that includes her and she's a Virgo too. I don't even know her sign. Okay. No dude asks the chick or sign and then when's your birthday? I learned her birthday as late as possible. You're not learning that on the first time you meet somebody. But also if you know her birthday, you should be able to figure out her sign.
Starting point is 00:12:17 What's your name? What's your... And he keeps going off and does other ones too that are just just as corny. Do you have the line? This is the line that I don't understand when I hear. And I love this song. I think it's a great song. It's stuck in my head.
Starting point is 00:12:27 I sing it a lot. But there is a part where he's like, I bought the beer that you like and I know you like it because I asked you or something. No, he goes, I bought the beer that you like because you told me. Right. Okay. He's just trying to rhyme stuff. It was like I, after I was in my car one day and I heard that line and I'm like,
Starting point is 00:12:45 huh, that's interesting. It just is one of those where I just didn't really know how flowed. But great song. My point was this. If guys are out there at a bar wherever trying to hit on chicks, do not ask them their birthday, their sign. You got to get deeper than that. Go some other route.
Starting point is 00:13:01 And I'm hoping Bones ain't listening to this song either for advice. Well, I was on a day this weekend and I was like, What's your name? What's your sign? I was using that as my guide. Usually, I already know her name, right? If I go out with a girl for the first time. Usually it's like.
Starting point is 00:13:13 Her real name or her Instagram handle? Real. Well, depends. I know. I don't know. Amy just sub-talked me there. Okay. I would go, hey, where are you from?
Starting point is 00:13:28 Where'd you grow up? That's one. Where'd you grow up? Thank you. Well, no, that's not a right answer. This is my right answer. I appreciate that, though. I'd be like, where are you from?
Starting point is 00:13:36 No, no, no. If I don't know what, I want to know more about her job first, something she can talk about. Like, what do you, like, tell me about your job. That's one. Where are you from? Tell me about that, two. What's your name?
Starting point is 00:13:45 What's your name? I'd be like. Where are you from? Okay, ready? This is my version of it. Come on. I'd be like, what's your job? Well, you're from DTF.
Starting point is 00:13:58 No. What? In that order? Just kidding. Go third. What's your name? What's your job? DTF.
Starting point is 00:14:08 I definitely, that's not it. I don't ever do that. I'm just kidding. This is a joke. It's a joke. Jokey, Joky Jokker. Jokk. Don't email.
Starting point is 00:14:18 My name is Joky Jokersen. I was had a problem with Luke Holmes songs, like, like the Hooters part, like the Hooters thing, like, no Hooters waitress is going to write her number on a receipt. Not true. I've had one before. Stop it. Stop it. Now you're just lying.
Starting point is 00:14:32 No, I believe it. So she signed the receipt with her number. And did you get a scratch-off? This has been years ago. Tell me what happened. Years ago. In Austin. She wrote her number on the back of the receipt? Yeah, that's exactly what happened. Really? Yeah. Was that the last parking spot in the parking lot? I didn't say I lived by Loop when it comes to songs.
Starting point is 00:14:49 Did you go get a hole in three? No. The line about that that really, the Luke Combs song is the radio station. Whatever caller he was in that song, that's not a thing radio station to do. And then he said that he won a raffle. What number is he in that song? Yeah, he won a round of golf for three. Which you don't win.
Starting point is 00:15:06 It's a four-s-send of you run. Right. Fairly. Oh, really? You have to rhyme. Okay. But it's like, I was calling number. Number nine.
Starting point is 00:15:13 Oh, maybe they do do nine then. We do call her nine. They do nine then. Maybe it's around a three. It's what he won. You're right. We've talked about it before. And Bones and I talked too about.
Starting point is 00:15:20 about it goes okay I was caller number five on a radio station I don't hear a lot of it but okay I only got a fight with caller five that's fine yeah I can be the wolf won a four day three night beach vacation deep sea seorita fishing out of Panama that's fine yeah I bought two 12 from the beginning I won 100 bucks on a scratch off ticket bought two 12 packs and a tank of gas with it great that can happen was caller number five on a radio station it's a big trip to be calling number five usually you get in and they draw but you know what dissecting too high there.
Starting point is 00:15:52 Yeah. It's all good. Yeah. And then we also broke down, too, what was the... Oh, the long-neck ice-cold beer? He says he broke a... He's had a bass bust his line. I've never had a bass bust my line. Well, some strippers are called...
Starting point is 00:16:08 They're called striped bass, actually. Oh, I never got a striper. Okay. They're really big. Well... But he said large mouth, to be fair. Did he? Yeah. Okay. Maybe he's using a two-pound test. Maybe... Maybe... No, really? He got the line that came with in store?
Starting point is 00:16:21 He could be, you know, perch jerkin. Okay, okay. And all of a sudden, he's got a, you know, two or three pound test on. All right. Gets an eight or nine pound bass, a little fight, and it pops it. Okay. Again. And I haven't had a big problem with the songs.
Starting point is 00:16:35 It's just sometimes factually incorrect. The whole round of three at golf. Yeah. Because you get a four or some. You never get a threesome. But anyway, he has the hits. That's why we don't write songs we can't do that. All right, cool.
Starting point is 00:16:47 I think we're done. Do you have a good weekend, by the way? What's your name? What is today? No. It's Wednesday. It was like it's a week. Because I was in California, it was like a weekend.
Starting point is 00:16:55 I did, what are you pointing at? Oh, what, what? What, what is your name? Oh, we gotta get to that. That's right, we teased it. Hold on, we'll come to you. What'd you do yet? What'd you do yesterday?
Starting point is 00:17:10 I went over to my dad's, hung out with my kids. Yeah. That's it, really. Did I have anything? No. I guess being on a plane all day yesterday night, it feels like it was a Sunday. Mm-hmm. throws you off a little bit.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Long flight. Yeah, I went over and met Kavino and Rich. I went over to the satellite, the serious building when I was in L.A. and I did Nikki Glazer's show on Comedy Central Radio. I was there for an hour. She kept me for an hour. It's great.
Starting point is 00:17:34 And then I met those guys. I'm big fans of. And I got a couple meetings and got out of plane. I guess that's why it feels like the weekend. Yeah. I'm tired right now. You're so tired. You thought it was the weekend.
Starting point is 00:17:45 I'm so tired. I thought it was Monday. Some people want to know why Amy has a pill bottle on her desk. I'm glad you asked. Amy is something you want to admit to? So I survived the show. So you get through it? Why are they small and blue?
Starting point is 00:17:59 It's empty. It's something I need to refill for my dad. Oh, okay. But it's my reminder to do it. Morgan number two, tell us about the Postmates story. So Lizzo, awesome artist, but... Go ahead. She posted on Twitter accusing a postmate's girl of stealing her food and called her out by name.
Starting point is 00:18:22 and tagged postmates, and basically they're like personally DMS, like, we'll take care of this if that's what you think. She even was like, she lucky I don't fight anymore kind of thing. She lucky I don't fight anymore? Yeah, this postmate's girl. I'm glad she gave that up. But her fans shamed her so hard for naming the girl because she doesn't even know that it's true or not.
Starting point is 00:18:45 And so she had to take down the tweet and then publicly apologize and be like, sorry, like, I should have thought through that. a little bit better. She should have. Definitely should have. Yeah, that's not cool. Even if she would have stolen it, you don't name check her because you really don't know. Someone at the restaurant could have stolen it. Much like when I used to weigh tables. People blame me for stuff being wrong when it was the kitchen's fault. Hey, Ray, is there somebody online too? We can check it out if you want to do it live. Well, no. Oh, you just want to put up a call. No, I don't want to do that. But it's not the hotline. Yeah, it might be for the other show.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Okay. Middays. All right, we're done. Hey, thank you guys. Have a great day. We'll see you guys show, but here is Wednesday's Bobby Bones show. Enjoy. I'm the host of Earsay, the Audible and I Heart Audio Book Club. This week on the podcast, I am sitting down with Ray Porter,
Starting point is 00:22:06 the narrator of Andy Weir's audiobook Project Hail Mary, massive sci-fi adventure about survival and science, and what happens when you wake up alone very far from Earth? I really had to make a decision because I caught myself, getting that frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm narrating some of these sections. And it's like, okay, yo, yeah, yo, is this indulgent? And I really thought about it. I was like, no, at this point, it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it.
Starting point is 00:22:39 But there's places in this book that deeply emotionally affected me and I left it on the mic. That's great. Because it served the story. People will say like, oh my God, I cried at the end. It's like, yeah, dude, me too. Listen to Earsay, the Audible and IHeart Audio Club on the IHeart Radio app or wherever you get your podcasts. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bones.
Starting point is 00:23:04 Let me go. I'm translating across. This is the Bobby Boll. And welcome to Wednesday show. Good morning, studio. Morning. Do you get these messages all the time? I go, you're out of data.
Starting point is 00:23:19 You've been charged overage data for this month at $15 per 1GB. Oh, wow. I get them all the time. I've gotten them before, but not late. Or is there something you downloaded that's eating up your data? Well, I just watch movies all time. I don't get it. I'm like, well, that could be it.
Starting point is 00:23:37 You know what I do a lot, though, is I have to connect to my phone for Wi-Fi. Like a hot spot. But I just get crushed for overage. It's not a commercial. I'm not even going to tell you what service I use or don't you use. But nutty, huh? Yeah. And then I get my bill and it's all over the place.
Starting point is 00:23:53 Back in the day, they should send you your bill with every number you would call. Yeah, in a manila envelope if you had a heavy month. Yeah, heavy month. That sounds like something else. Yeah. It does. Welcome to Wednesday show. Amy, you good? Yeah. Lunchbox are good. Good, good. Good, man. Morgan number two.
Starting point is 00:24:08 Yeah, good. Raymondo. Yeah, good. All right. He wasn't expecting that. You went around the room, right? Yeah, went all the way around. All right. Let's do On This Day in Country Music to start us off here. The Bobby Bonds show. On This Day in Country Music. On this day in 1993 years ago, Garth Brooks has the number one country song with, Ain't Going Down until the Sun comes up.
Starting point is 00:24:28 down till the sun comes up. It's the first single from Gart's album. In Pieces. Correct. It was co-written. Garth, Kent Blazy, and Kim Williams. The three were sitting out on the back porch of Kent Blazy's house. They came up with the story of a teenage boy and girl going against their parents and escaped their houses to stay out one night. The songwriter said that Garth came and said, I want to write the first single off the new record and I wanted to be shotgun lyrics, which is,
Starting point is 00:24:56 Bap-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-a, you know, other shotgun lyrics. We didn't start the fire. Come on my seat there. Oh, yeah. Maybe John Michael Montgomery. Could you, would you, ain't you? Yeah, those are shotgunny. Bear naked ladies.
Starting point is 00:25:11 It's chicken to China to Chinese chicken. You got a drumstick. So they sat on the porch. They got sunburned. They finished a song in one day. And ain't going down. If the sun comes up goes number one on this day 26 years ago. Fun fact.
Starting point is 00:25:23 And you'll hear this when Raymondo plays the clip again. Tricia Yearwood sings the harmonies on the song. She's the girl voice. Here you go. Hey, going down till the sun comes out, I ain't getting in till they get a good. That's Trisha. Wow. Pretty cool, huh?
Starting point is 00:25:37 Yeah. Here's the Bobby Bones show podcast, highlight segment of the day. Some of our listeners got at me a little bit because I didn't talk enough about going to Dancing with Stars. I didn't want to wear them out on it, but I had a good time. So I went to the premiere of Dancing with the Stars, which I looked at the ratings, too, of the premiere. And I root for that show.
Starting point is 00:25:53 I love that show. Love the people at that show. And it did what our premiere did. It wasn't a big jump up, but didn't fall. We did about right. Listen, our listeners bumped that show up last season. You know, and some of the real hardcore fans of that show don't like me and us, meaning our people,
Starting point is 00:26:13 because we went and just kind of rocked the system. But we kept that show pretty highly rated last year. I was excited to see it do well. I was excited to be there. I do have my top five moments now from the Dancing with the Stars premiere because I really had a great time. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:28 It was just so good to be back. I went into the makeup room, and it was just such a loving feeling. They were like, Bobby! I think I bonded with the crew better than I did the stars. I think those are more like my people. So, okay, number five. Meeting Karamo from Queer Eye.
Starting point is 00:26:47 Oh, yeah. Who I didn't know. I've seen an episode of Queer Eye, one, and I thought it was good, but I don't know the people on the show that well. But Karamo came up to me, and he's the ball of black dude. And he was like, hey man, how do you win this show?
Starting point is 00:27:03 Oh, wow. Yeah, yeah. And he was super nice. So we talked before the show and then we talked again after the show. And I just had a great time meeting Karamo. And people loved it. People love that guy. And so some friends would text me and be like, I can't believe you met Karamo.
Starting point is 00:27:16 That was the person I was talking about that people were freaking out that I had spent time with. And more than just a meeting. Like we spent some time together. Loved him. Like such a, I don't know what his deal is on that show. So now you all are like friends. We don't follow each other on Instagram yet. That's not the person I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:27:31 Oh. But I would say that could probably hit him up. Sure. Okay. What's his deal? Is he like super positive guy? I don't know his exact thing. I'll have to look at that.
Starting point is 00:27:42 Have you not seen Queer Eye? Not in a minute. I haven't watched the latest season. And I only started watching it when it came to Netflix. And man, but you have to be prepared for that. Like you cry. Yeah, the one episode I saw was really touching. Number four in my best of going to the Dancing with the Stars premiere.
Starting point is 00:27:57 not having to dance I got to go see all my friends because I'm friends with a lot of those dancers on that show and I didn't have to dance it was amazing and I became friends with the dancers through the show but also I did the tour a little bit and some of them like Emma and Sasha I just talked to all the time
Starting point is 00:28:15 and so it was great and before Emma went on and she's dancing I forget who she's dancing with but before she went out she was like she leaned her head over and she was like okay kiss me on the cheek and slap me in the face so I'm ready to go. And so her and Sasha are married.
Starting point is 00:28:29 So I went and then pop. And then she ran out and did the dance. So that was pretty good. Who is Emma? Mike, we look up who Emma's dancing with. Oh, James Vanderbeek. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:28:39 By the way, as a also almost made it, James Vanderbik, I talked to him for a while. Pretty serious guy, but very humble and has a little bit of dance experience. And it was just happy to be there. Who knew? What's his dance experience? He's an actor.
Starting point is 00:28:53 You can watch him and see that he'd been, you know, trained a little bit. Most of those performers have done some sort of dance in their life. Sure. But yeah, he was real nice. They could win it. They could win it. Lauren can win it. Hannah can win it.
Starting point is 00:29:06 Number three. I would say I saw Sharna that night because she was doing press, I think, for extra. And I didn't know she was going to be there because we had talked about going up to the show. And then the next morning we had coffee before I flew out, like after the show and before flight. So it was good to catch up with her because she had been in Australia for a long time. and I hadn't been to California since Ida ended. That was number three. Number two was getting to hang out with Kate Flannery, Meredith from the office.
Starting point is 00:29:34 Yeah. Is so cool. And that's the person that we follow each other on Instagram now. So she plays Meredith on the office, which is by far my favorite show in my whole life. And a little bit, I was intimidated to go up and talk to her. Because I just, I like the people that I like in that capacity. And I didn't want it to spoil whenever if she wasn't cool or she was so focused on I also don't want to interrupt her.
Starting point is 00:29:57 First day. Some people don't do well with first day dancing. You handle your nerves differently. And I'm in the makeup trailer and she's in the makeup trailer. I'm like, say, hey, and I almost called her Meredith, which isn't her name. It's Kate. And I was like, hey, Kate, I'm Bobby Bone. She was like, oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:30:14 I've watched. And so a lot of them have watched, and I've been using an example of how to win the show without having any dance experience. She was like, I've been watching. She's like, oh, my goodness. She goes, you're an office fan. I was like, yeah. she goes, Angela's coming too. You should meet her.
Starting point is 00:30:28 Oh, wow. And so, spent time with Kate. We talked. Talked before the show, after the show. She danced from my table on the show. Like, she started where I was. And then I went and sat with Angela and talked to her for a little bit, who plays Angela on the office. And I was like, hey, Kate said that you were nice.
Starting point is 00:30:44 I set it up. And I should talk to you. And she was like, oh, I am nice. And then we talked for a little bit. It was great. It was great. It was so cool to meet two people from the office. Like, that's, like, going to Arkansas. I'll razorback games and being able to do behind the scene stuff, like going and throwing the first pitch out at the Cubs game,
Starting point is 00:31:00 meeting people from the office, like that's stuff that I really love. Ranks up there. Yeah, that's the stuff that like feels good in my heart, in my soul. That's like the stuff I really, really love. And then number one from Dancing with the Stars was watching Lauren, Lauren and Lina, and watching her go out and do great. And I went to her trailer afterward and she was like, okay, what did I? What can I?
Starting point is 00:31:20 I was, she was such a good dancer. Right. Week one. I'm like, Lauren, you can win this thing. I gave her a little bit of advice on how to do the rest of the show. But I was like, Lauren, you can win this thing. Week one. And she was so pumped and I was so happy that she's pumped because I'm the one that kind of got her into this thing.
Starting point is 00:31:35 And so when she started dancing and she had like lines and distinct movement, I was like, oh, she's going to be good by week five or six. Because she's an athlete. I know. Because if that was week one, I was like, whoa, it can only go up from here. Like she has a good groundwork. And she had fun. Yeah. And it's such an intense and.
Starting point is 00:31:55 environment, the live show, and it was just so good. And so, and they had me do some behind the scene stuff for, they're going to use through the season about Lauren. And I was like, well, Lauren's an athlete. And I told the story, we were playing a charity softball game once, because Lauren's very competitive. And I had Lauren come out and play on our charity softball team. And so Lauren comes out and we're up by seven runs. And it's a charity game. So it's not hyper competitive. And there's no reason to really risk your health while playing a charity game that's already not that close. And Lauren comes barreling into home plate
Starting point is 00:32:28 and like freaking head first slides. And I was like, Lauren, why are you trying to kill yourself? You go, we got to get that run. It was going to be a close play. And I was like, that's what I'm talking about. So it was great to see Lauren and see her do well. I'll go back out probably later on in the season and see her because I'll be out there working anyway.
Starting point is 00:32:48 But it's fantastic. It was great. And the fact that I got to watch it without dancing was amazing. But it's cool. They changed that a little bit. Not anything crazy. Lamar Odom's terrible. He'll go home first.
Starting point is 00:33:00 Yeah. Yeah. I met Sean Spicer. I found it would be a really nice guy. You know, I did. I found him to be pretty kind. His dance was interesting. He has to be interesting there because he can't dance.
Starting point is 00:33:11 I say that lovingly. But yes, he'll go home probably third, second or third. But it's going to be Hannah, who, by the way, wasn't that warm to me. Really? Really? She's your friend. Wasn't not, maybe, listen. I thought that y'all talked before and she was super warm.
Starting point is 00:33:28 We had, and I don't know, but again, everybody handles themselves differently on first nights of shows. Oh yeah, she could have been so. I didn't say she was absolutely. Yeah. So, but wasn't that warm to me, and we had spent, you know, spent the time together. We said hi at the very end of the night and we just happened to be walking next to each other. But it'll be Hannah, Lauren, Vanderbeek, and then Karamo Strong and maybe Kel from. Keenan and Kale if he gets a little better.
Starting point is 00:33:57 But the pop star girl won't win. She's not a good enough to answer for where she should be. She's from a pussycat dolls, five seconds of summer? Oh, Fifth Harmony. Fifth Harmony. Okay, one of those three. Five seconds of summer. Fifth Harmony.
Starting point is 00:34:08 That's guys. Yeah. Whatever. But it was great. It's fantastic. I really had a great time. Like a really great time. And Tom was nice.
Starting point is 00:34:17 Everybody was, and Bruno, I talked to Bruno. Bruno was sitting, one of the judges. He's like, you know, you have to put your hair. Hips in the dance, is that really flamboyant guy? Yeah. Talk to him the whole time. It's super nice.
Starting point is 00:34:29 So, even though they had a rate, that changed the scoring, they had to rate people low now because they were coming out in our season and just giving everybody sevens and eight. It's like me. I didn't need a seven or eight. So now they're giving people three.
Starting point is 00:34:40 Oh, wow. Lamar, I'm got threes. And I was like, oh. Dang. And Bruno looks over at me as the scoring on the, he goes, this is your fault. It is your fault. It is your fault. We have to give threes.
Starting point is 00:34:50 So I love that people. Love those people, love that show. I want to talk to Kyle in Pennsylvania who's on the phone right now. Hey, Kyle. Hey. What's up, dude? What's going on? It says that she listens on the podcast.
Starting point is 00:35:04 Now, are you a girl with the deepest voice I've ever heard, Kyle? No. Okay, you're a dude. Got it. Where do you live in Pennsylvania? I live in the northeast corner. I'm actually working in New York right now, but I live in the northeast corner of Pennsylvania. That's our favorite corner.
Starting point is 00:35:19 Yeah. We love these. Yeah. A lot of here. Yeah. What would you like to say? I just been listening on the podcast for four years, not on the radio room. I stumbled upon you guys on a podcast.
Starting point is 00:35:32 And I love you guys. I listen every day. I listen my sore loser podcast every day. I just think you guys are great. Appreciate that, man. Appreciate you listening and telling your friends and calling us. Yeah. Well, I don't talk to too many people.
Starting point is 00:35:47 I work by myself, which is nice. That'd be nice. I'd be nice. I'd be nice. Anything you want to say to yourself when you listen to the podcast back? Give yourself a little motivational talk here, Kyle. Talk to you right now. I talk to myself all day, man.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Yeah, but I need you to hear yourself back, though. Like, you're in your ears right now. You're listening later because you can't hear the whole show live. So you go to IHard Radio, you listen to Bobby Bone Show, you type it in, and now you're on, and what do you want to say back to yourself that you hear later today? You're putting me off spot here, man. I don't know. I just want to, I didn't even think I'd get through to you.
Starting point is 00:36:27 guys. I'm nervous as heck right now. And I'm really blowing it, though, Tom. Just say hi to yourself and be like, you did it. Be like, you did it. Yeah, you finally got on the show, dude. I'm so proud of you. Go ahead, Kyle. Yeah, I'm so proud of you, man. You're doing great. You probably sound like an idiot right now. But that's okay.
Starting point is 00:36:44 But that's okay. Everybody sounds like an idiot. Nobody even judges. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Well, you know how you felt when you interviewed Darius for the first time? That's kind of how I feel right now. Oh, yeah? And, yeah, I'm shaking. I'm a pretty tough guy.
Starting point is 00:37:03 This is not like me. Well, Kyle, then we're going to hang up, and you're going to be like, that was fun. And call us back. North East Corner, Kyle. We'll never forget you. Yeah. All right, bud. Oh, lumberjack, because that helps.
Starting point is 00:37:16 Oh, a lumberjack, that's an even better name. Lumberjack, Kyle? Yeah. But you got to have lumberjack stories. Like, what do you do all day as a lumberjack? Cut tree, man. Well, I know that. I know what a lumberjack does, Kyle.
Starting point is 00:37:27 And alone, too. Do you wear plaid? Do you wear flannel? I want you wearing a plaid flannel right now. There's a little chilly, yeah. Yeah. That's amazing. Do you have a beard?
Starting point is 00:37:36 I do. What? Do you have an ox? I don't have an ox, but I'm 6'6 if that helps. Holy wow. Do you sell paper towels? Brony. What size shoe do you wear, dude?
Starting point is 00:37:50 15 and 16, depending on the boot dig. What honor? How do you get shoes that big? You have to order them. It's paint. So you're 6'6 with a size 15 shoe. You're a lumberjack. Are you married?
Starting point is 00:38:03 I am. And how did you meet your wife? Well, back in high school, I worked at a feed store called Agway, and she worked at a different Agway. We're rednecks, man. I delivered feed to her store, and it was a love at first night, I guess. You have any kids? They do.
Starting point is 00:38:21 Yep. And are they large? Actually, they're kind of... My wife's only five foot. Holy cow, are you kidding me? She's like at your ribcage, bro. Yeah, sometimes it works out. Sometimes, I bet.
Starting point is 00:38:39 All right, well, listen, we'd love to talk to you again. Call us back sometime, man. It's Kyle, lumberjack, Kyle. Call us back in a week or so with a lumberjack story. I will, we'll do. All right, boy, see you later. I appreciate it. All right, there you go.

Starting point is 00:40:57 book club. This week on the podcast, I'm sitting down with Ray Porter, the narrator of Andy Weir's audiobook Project Hail Mary, massive sci-fi adventure about survival and science. And what happens when you wake up alone very far from Earth? I really had to make a decision because I caught myself getting that frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm narrating some of these sections. And it's like, okay, yo, yeah, yo, is this indulgent? And I really thought about it. I was like, no, at this point, it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that deeply emotionally affected me and I left it on the mic. That's great. Because it served the story. People will say like,

Starting point is 00:42:24 The Bobby Bones show. Big three stories. Let's go over to our producer, Ramundo. Ramundo, what you got over there? Jeopardy host Alex Trebek, he's undergoing another round of chemotherapy to fight his stage four cancer. In New York, they banned the sale of flavored e-cigarettes
Starting point is 00:42:39 after the seventh vaping death. Retailers have two weeks to remove them from store shelves. And finally, you can still get tickets to our IHeart Radio Music Festival this weekend in Vegas. Just go to iHeart.com slash music festival. Let's go over to Chris in Arkansas, who's on the phone right now. Chris. Hey, how's going?
Starting point is 00:42:59 What's up, bud? What do you want to know? Hey, not much. Morning, studio. Morning, morning. What, snuck that one in this. Hey, I wanted to get some financial advice from lunchbox. All right, what's your question for lunchbox?
Starting point is 00:43:12 This morning, I woke up, checked your bank account, and my wife's company direct deposited her check twice. Oh, yes. What would you do, lunchbox? I'll withdraw it immediately. I mean, absolutely. That money is yours and you just withdraw it. And then it is yours. Then they can't take it back because, hey, the money's gone.
Starting point is 00:43:32 Sorry. All I got to say is sometimes companies mess up. That is the one advantage, I guess, of direct deposit. They did it twice. They will never notice their error. It's probably a big company and they have so much money coming in and out. They won't notice that. That is your money.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Enjoy it. Maybe even book a vacation if you want. How you feel about that, Chris? I mean, I was thinking Vegas. I don't know. Can I interject? He was asking luncheux. He wants affirmation that it's okay for him to take it.
Starting point is 00:44:01 Head to Vegas, man. Chris, would you like me to hop in or you just go without a device? Well, what I was going to say is, of course, we're not going to keep it. We're going to reach out to HR and the bank and correct the problem. Because we don't want to have a letter coming to mail later on and tell us that we're going to have so much money taken out of our account. the 12th of that month. It's happened to me a few times here where they've put too much money in my account and they go, ooh, we paid you a little too much.
Starting point is 00:44:34 They never miss it. Big companies have really good people. They're always chasing down the numbers. That's why they get to be successful as a big company. So if they double deposited, they're going to take it back. And if you go and spend it on something that you really don't need to spend it on, eventually you have to pay for that thing that you really didn't need to pay for. So it's going to come out.
Starting point is 00:44:53 You know what to do, Chris. Yeah, we had no doubt it was tough. You just want a lunchbox to say that? Yeah, I just wanted to see what lunchbox would take with me on it. All right, there you go ahead. Can I ask you one quick question? Go ahead, bud. When can you go on the Sword Losers podcast
Starting point is 00:45:10 so we can get a good conversation about the Razorbacks? Nobody wants talking about the Razorbacks anywhere but me. I'm the only one that talks about the Razorbacks or in Arkansas. So I guess until we get good. So whenever we get good. We'll bring you in. Yeah. When we get good.
Starting point is 00:45:25 So I probably be a while. Yeah. I appreciate that call, Chris. Sounds good. See you, man. Yeah, thanks guys. Have a good day. See you.
Starting point is 00:45:31 Let's go to Ryan in Idaho who's on. Hey, Ryan. Hey, how you doing, guys? Pretty good. What do you want to say? Oh, I just want to say I've been following you guys for about two years now. And I love hearing your stories and your talks. And I appreciate everything you guys say.
Starting point is 00:45:45 And thank you. Oh, I appreciate that. Well, thanks. I appreciate the call. Where are you living in Idaho? I've never been to Idaho. Idaho Falls. And that's the one place I've been trying to go.
Starting point is 00:45:58 What's the thing in Idaho Falls? When someone comes to Idaho Falls, where do you take them? Like, what do you show them? We take them down to the falls and walk around the river. Our town's been growing a lot. There used to not be much here. I wonder if we go around the road. If you brought someone to your town, like where you grew up, what would you show them?
Starting point is 00:46:19 Amy, where'd you grow up and what would you show them? Austin, Texas, I would take them to Town Lake. We'd walk the trail. It's now called Lady Bird Lake. Okay, okay. Well, growing up, we just called it Town Lake. And from there, we could walk over. You can see a lot of things from the city there.
Starting point is 00:46:34 You got some good views. You see the lake. You feed the ducks. It's peaceful. Morgan, number two, you're from Wichita, Kansas. Where would you take someone if they came to town? Probably to the old site of Joyland. It's now abandoned, but it used to be an amusement park.
Starting point is 00:46:47 And it was bumping back in the day. Now it's abandoned and nobody owns it. Back in the day for you or back in like the 50s? For me, yeah. Like I used to go there for my like PTO nights at school and we'd ride the really janky roller coaster and that was like my best memories growing up. Ramundo, you're from Michigan
Starting point is 00:47:05 and you're from the Upper Peninsula or lower? Upper Peninsula. What's your hometown? It's Gwynn. It's so small we'd have to drive to the city over. But what would you show them in Gwyn? In Gwynn, right outside of it is it's on Indian reservations so they're allowed to have a casino.
Starting point is 00:47:20 so I'd take into the casino. Okay. Yeah, there's craps, blackjack, everything. It's a blast as long as you're 18. I'm from a town called Mountain Pine, Arkansas, population 700. And a couple things. One, we just built a cell phone tower recently in the past a year and a half. Because you used to, you wouldn't get any cell service at all.
Starting point is 00:47:37 So I'll be like, this is new Mountain Pine. I show them the cell service. And then I'll probably go to the Yum Yum shop, which has been, you know, off and on a little restaurant near the school for the past 25 years. And it'd be like, this is where it all happened. This is where we would play pool on football Fridays before we leave the field house and go play pool a little bit and then go back up to the...
Starting point is 00:48:00 Because we don't get to go home. I'd probably take them to the Yum Yum shop. That's probably. Or I guess there's a sign now. This is boy at home of Bobby Bones in my town. Yeah, probably go there. But you see that coming in. True.
Starting point is 00:48:10 Yeah. Lunchbox? Oh, it's easy. We'd hit Lake Travis during the day. Then we'd go change clothes. And you know, we're going to 6th Street. And I'm going to show you every single bar. And if you can't hang, that's too.
Starting point is 00:48:20 bad. We're going to have a good old time. That's Austin, Texas, too. Eddie? Oh, I'm South Texas. McAllen. Seven miles north of Mexico. So I'd have to take him to Mexico. Oh, you would. Oh, yeah. Taking to Mexico. Even these days? Yes. Go get a nice dinner and a little mechalada beer and then get back quick. Yeah, before it gets dark. Yeah. Hurry. Hurry back. Hey, Ryan, appreciate you, bud. Thanks for a call on the show. Yeah, thank you guys. Have a good day. See you Later. Take care. Bye. I want to put Ashley on in California. Ashley, what's happening?
Starting point is 00:48:52 Hey, Bobby. How are you doing? Pretty good. How are you doing? Good. So I'm just diving to work. And I was wondering, I'm so glad that you took my call, I'm wondering how you feel about giving up control of the board over to Ray with the new studio. Well, so now we're in a studio that's basically built for visual. And until six months ago, I ran all the buttons. pushed all the buttons. I everything. And so now
Starting point is 00:49:20 I just sit here and twid on my thumbs and try to say funny things. And Ramundo is running it and it has been a bit of a change. But I tell you, for me, the biggest shift was when I had to go to Dancing with the Stars because for months I just had to work from a different studio and not push buttons because I was working out of California. Yeah. So it was, that was really weird.
Starting point is 00:49:38 So the transition was easier here. So it's okay. I'm actually okay. Is it weird to you? I thought it's... Sometimes? Oh. Oh, go ahead. You were asking Amy. Oh, yeah. Because, well, I mean, I have to look at him and for as long as I've known Bobby doing this.
Starting point is 00:49:52 He's always been running the words. So, yes, it was weird at first, but we've gotten over it quickly. Yeah. Ashley, is it weird for you? Well, honestly, sometimes I'm like, oh, no, did Ray push it when he was supposed to do? Do you start the song too late? And I get worried kind of for you. Yeah, me too.
Starting point is 00:50:09 So I just wanted to know how you felt about it. And Ray does well. You know, sometimes we have code words to get out. I'd be like, thank you. Ray knows to hit the button on thank you. We look at each other in the eyes and sometimes I'll knock. We have a little hand signals now for turn the music up, which is I'll just put my finger up and lower the music. I give him a little nod. Just a very slight nod.
Starting point is 00:50:29 To cut a song or something, I give him the old throat slit. What else? Raymond, do we got any other things working over there? It's really nods and slits and thumbs up and thumbs downs. Yeah. And then we have a button I can push and talk in only raise ears. where you guys can't, for example, if I push this button here, you can't hear me
Starting point is 00:50:48 on my mic, but you can hear me over the mic, but my mic will shut off and only Ray could hear me. It's a little system that we have here. But yeah, hey, you want to play a game while we have you, Ashley? Oh, I would love to play a game. Try to win some money.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Yeah, let's do it. All right, we're going to do the 60 second showdown. We have one category left of history. We've been playing this last couple days. If you can get 10 questions in 60 seconds, you want 100 bucks, okay? Okay. By the way, nobody's who ever won this game.
Starting point is 00:51:15 With us anyway. Are you ready? These are all easy history questions. Are you good at history, Ashley? We'll see. Okay, we will see. She's got a great point. We're about to see. Question number one, the clock starts as soon as we finish the first question.
Starting point is 00:51:31 My timer up, please. All right, here we go. And question number one. How many branches of government are there? Three. Correct. Who did the U.S. win their independence from? Britain.
Starting point is 00:51:43 Correct. What does D.C. stand there? for with Washington, D.C.? District of Columbia? Correct. Which document governs the United States? The Constitution.
Starting point is 00:51:55 Correct. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from what country? Oh my gosh. Pass. What two explorers had a famous expedition to map the Louisiana purchase?
Starting point is 00:52:07 Who was the first lady of the United States? The very first, first lady. What's George's wife's name? Barbara? Bush. Oh, you know, Washington's wise.
Starting point is 00:52:20 Shoot, I don't know. Who wrote the Declaration of Independence? Franklin. Incorrect. Who was on the $100 bill? Franklin. Correct. Who was known as the conductor of the Underground Railroad?
Starting point is 00:52:37 Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. That would have been Harriet Tubman. You were on fire for a minute. Yeah, for a little bit. And then I... And then Barbara Bush. Well, you got throwing off first that the Statue of Liberty was from France.
Starting point is 00:52:52 Lewis and Clark did the Louisiana purchase. Martha Washington was the first, first lady. And Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration Independence and Benjamin Franklin got that one, Harry Tubman. Well, listen, you did all right. You got five right. That's the most we've ever had here. That's a good one. Yeah, it's really good.
Starting point is 00:53:05 You get no prize, but we appreciate you coming on the show. Yeah, thank you so much. That was really fun. All right, Ashley, have a good day. Okay, you too. All right, bye-bye, there she is. So they have to get every single one right. All 10. 10 and 60s. One every six seconds.
Starting point is 00:53:19 Not to crazy. Just if you know what, you'll get them all. Seems pretty easy. Very easy. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan number two, 30 seconds skinny. A group of 10 teachers at Pardt. Harlan Junior High School in Everett, Massachusetts were surprised by some of their sixth graders. These sixth graders walked in and brought the teachers enough teacher school supplies to last them the entire year.
Starting point is 00:54:31 Because what happens is a lot of teachers, first of all, they don't get paid enough anyway, and they're spending a lot of that money to keep the classroom going on markers or any of the school supplies they have to use to teach the kids. The kids brought them in and said, hey, it's for you guys. Appreciate what you do. Yeah, that's awesome. That's a pretty good thing, right? And they talk about Caitlin Crossley, who works at the school, and she has spent a lot of her own money to make sure the students have what they need. And again, teachers don't even get paid enough.
Starting point is 00:54:57 Yeah, well, the teachers want their classroom and their students to be successful. So sometimes they have to make an investment each year in order to create the success. Shout out to those kids. That's what it's all about right there. That was Tell Me Something Good. Bobid Bones Show. Bonehead. Norrie up the day. This story comes with us from New York.
Starting point is 00:55:15 A cop was driving down the road about 1 a.m. And he comes to an intersection and he sees something he thinks. thinks is suspicious, gets out of the car, goes to investigate, leaves his car idling while a 24-year-old's walking with his friends like, oh my gosh. Oh, no. Oh, yeah, cop car running. Doors open. He gets in it and drives it up and down the street.
Starting point is 00:55:34 That's crazy. Would you ever think that a car, not even a cop car, would you ever jump in a normal car running? No. Much less a cop car? I mean, lunchbox, you're trouble. Would you do that? No, no, no, no. As a kid, though, at 19, 16.
Starting point is 00:55:48 A car? No, a cop car. No, cop car, no. But a regular car? Yeah, maybe. What did the car have to be? What would it have to be for you to jump in? Probably like a Lambo, Corvette, Ferrari, something nice.
Starting point is 00:55:58 Not just like an old beat-up minivan or anything. That's not cool to do. But if it's a... Man, just think, if a Lambo's sitting there idling on the street and there's no one around... You would get in it and drive it? Oh, right now, I'm thinking about it. I'm like, I'd probably have to do it right now. Even at 38 years old.
Starting point is 00:56:13 What happened to the kid or the dude? So the cop turns around, sees it, walks over, and he's like, I was just joking. I was just joking. I got arrested. He got arrested facing multiple charges. There you go. I'm Lunchbox at your Bonehead story of the day. Starting point is 01:01:48 No. Do you know what? That's a clownfish. Yeah, it's a clownfish. Oh, yeah. That's not easy. Yeah. That's pretty easy. No.
Starting point is 01:01:55 Lunchbox is eliminated. Eddie, over to you. Come on. What does the Roman numeral V. represent. You know how I know this? Rocky 5. The movie? Five. Easy. Easy. That's how I know that. That was easy. Morgan number two. The category is geography. Lovely.
Starting point is 01:02:18 What's the capital of Hawaii? I have two options right now. Talk them out. Oh great. Talk them out. It's either, I think, it's either Oahu or Maui. I'm going to go with Oahu. No! No, Honolulu! I mean, she kind of answered, right? She answered, you gave the buzzard. Chris Martin rule. Yeah, Chris Martin rule. Is it Honolulu though?
Starting point is 01:02:49 Dang it! Sorry, you've been eliminated. There are two players left. Amy, Eddie. Amy, it's always us too, look. It's so easy. All right. We always battle it out.
Starting point is 01:03:01 Amy. What? What? Did these get a little harder? These are just pretty easy. Oh, okay. Okay, okay. Pretty easy trivia. All right.
Starting point is 01:03:09 What's the largest bone in the human body? I know this. The femur. Is that your answer? Yes. Wow. How did you get that? Easy trivia.
Starting point is 01:03:26 Eddie, yours is also pretty tough. Okay. At what temperature Fahrenheit does water boil? That's tough. I know freezing. At what temperature Fahrenheit does water boil? It's over 100. If you miss it, Amy wins another game.
Starting point is 01:03:43 And I know it. I mean, I don't know it, really 100%. So I'm going to go 120. Hit that bell. No! Just for fun. Hey, just for ships and giggles. Okay.
Starting point is 01:03:57 That would be 212 degrees. It's that high? Yeah. Wow. And there's your winner. It's so easy, Amy. Play that beautiful song. There she goes.
Starting point is 01:04:10 What would you like to say, Amy? Man, it just feels so good to not get them wrong. Because, I mean, you never know. No. You never know one day you're going to come out looking dumb and I can appreciate these days. That's true. That's true. There she is. Our big winner, clap your hands for Amy, everybody. It's a Bobby Bones show. So what happened? Well, we got a suspicious package on our front porch. It's your house. Yes. Why was it suspicious? Well, because we have a mailbox, first of all, that we send stuff to. So it's rare that we get packages. So that was odd thing number one. second was it was from the Netherlands
Starting point is 01:04:53 addressed to me and it had just this weird stuff because it was coming from another country so there was you know it went through customs there was like weird tags and writing on it and stickers that said fragile open carefully
Starting point is 01:05:05 and I was like I don't know what this could be I didn't order anything from the Netherlands it also looked sort of fake like did it really go through customs or did somebody create this and put it on our porch you know and it was about the size of a shoe box
Starting point is 01:05:19 I can show you a picture. And I'm concerned, so I call my husband to come out. And then because I'm creating hype around it, because I'm really freaked out, he's then like, well, we're not opening it. If you think first, if you have no clue where this came from, then, yeah, we're not opening it. And there was, we've read on the show tons of stories
Starting point is 01:05:38 where crazy stuff is happening. I mean, just in Austin, what was that last year? People were opening packages and things were blowing up. Right. So I had convinced myself it was an explosive. And- You don't overreact, though.
Starting point is 01:05:48 not really in character. It's a point. I thought, then I calmed down, and I was like, fine. Well, we have to open it. And my husband just said, no, we're just going to throw it in the trash. Wow. And I said, no, you can't throw it in the trash, because for one. Because you probably ordered some off Instagram and forgot.
Starting point is 01:06:06 No, no, I was thinking to you guys. I said, look, what if there's something and they're doing something like to the show? And I was the first stop. What if Bobby may get one of these on his porch? I mean, this whole thing blew out. Well, you really took this. the next level in your mind. I've been watching too much TV.
Starting point is 01:06:22 Holy cow. But I really, what if, guys? Go ahead. So I thought, I said, if you just throw it away and we never know, then we're not going to know if it was an explosive and if we need to be careful and everybody needs to keep their watch out. And then next thing you know, Bobby's going to get a package from Greenland and then it's going to Two of our enemies, by the way, Netherlands and Greenland.
Starting point is 01:06:42 Go ahead. So then who do you call? What do you do? So then my husband starts taking pictures of it, try to send it. So he sends it to some of his military buddies that are still in. and they said, yeah, dude, if y'all feel weird about it, don't open that. So then I was like, we're going to have to go to the local police department, and then this is going to be really embarrassing if it's nothing.
Starting point is 01:07:01 So then we call our friend Tim, who used to be a DEA agent. I don't know what he had to do with the explosives, but it felt like he would know what to do. He'd have a badge. Right. He's like a big, tough guy. So my husband drives the package, and then I kid you not, this is how lame I am. I hear my husband leaves and five minutes later I hear sirens and I thought oh my gosh his car blew up and like the ambulance is coming. What have I done?
Starting point is 01:07:29 Then I get a phone call from my husband like 10 minutes later and he had met Tim in an abandoned parking lot just to be safe and Tim is a man. And so is my husband and they opened it together. How'd they open it? I don't know. I guess just like they just went for it. I think they were like. Rock paper scissors. They were like.
Starting point is 01:07:47 I guess Amy will feel good. They do not it. All right. Let's say they put their hand up on their hand. Not it. This is out of control, though. I am freaking out at home. So they open it.
Starting point is 01:07:58 I think they ultimately decided things were probably fine. And I was overreacting and they were just peasing me. And they opened it. And I guess my friend, shout out Brittany, had ordered me this really super cute on air sign from a new podcast room at my house. It's really cute.
Starting point is 01:08:16 It lights up in everything. everything. But I didn't know she got it for me. From the Netherlands. Did you tell her? Yeah. Oh, yeah. She knows.
Starting point is 01:08:27 This caused like this whole thing, yes. And I was a little embarrassed and she felt really bad that she caused all this drama. But I mean, we were Googling the address that was on there, the return address. And it said it was quote unquote. A bomb shop. No. It was just some building things that looked like an Airbnb or something. Why do you keep doing finger quotes?
Starting point is 01:08:44 Nobody can see it but me. Okay. But think about it. This is where my brain went. Oh my gosh, this is a house that terrorist rent or something. Well, you are really escalating every element of this entire store. Airbnb? She hears cops in her neighborhood, which, by the way, there's a lot of crime in her neighborhood.
Starting point is 01:08:58 And she just assumes her husband blew up. It was a rough night. I did not. I was, for about two hours, I was in freak out mode. And it was a cute sign. I'm about to hang it up. Thank you, Brittany. But next time, tell me if you're sending me something to my house from another country that looks suspicious.
Starting point is 01:09:15 It was bad. It's bad. But everything's okay. We're okay. Okay. And I'm going to lay off Netflix. Here's Amy's pile of stories. So the CDC wants people to stop kissing and snuggling their chickens.
Starting point is 01:09:34 If you happen to be a backyard flock owner or maybe one of your neighbors is, because that was the case with me. My neighbors had chickens and they were so cute. And I would like to hold them because they were fluffy. Sometimes give them little snuggles. and kisses. So it's not a bedtime thing. No. It's just like if you're ever around a chicken,
Starting point is 01:09:51 make sure you know that you can spread salmonella that way too. I'd never have grabbed an adult chicken and tried to cuddle. Chicks, yes. Well, maybe I think they can still spread it even if they're babies or adults. Okay.
Starting point is 01:10:05 But if you've been anywhere near chicken, just remember if you touch them, the CDC is saying like wash your hands. Chicken or raw chicken? Like, you're talking about literal, alive chickens? You can get salmonella from. live chickens? Yes.
Starting point is 01:10:16 Because I know raw chicken you can't. Are you sure you're reading that right? I am reading it right. Right. It says here. Because I snuggle my raw chicken. Like I'll get it from the grocery store. I usually lay with it at the night.
Starting point is 01:10:26 Yes. It says they recommend against snuggling chickens or touching your face or mouth to the chicken. Or if your hand touches the chicken and then your hand touches your face or mouth. And that's not raw chicken. This is. Okay. They call it backyard flock owners. They give them a long list of things because they become your pets and you name them.
Starting point is 01:10:45 and they lay your eggs, and it's so cute. All right. Thank you for that heads up. The more you know, thank you. Yeah. So ABC has the next Bachelor. They announced it last night during Bachelor in Paradise and or the reunion special or whatever. And it's Pilot Pete.
Starting point is 01:10:59 Yeah. I don't know Pilot Pete, meaning I don't know who that is. But did anyone watch and know who Pilot Pete is? Oh, yeah. He's the one that hooked up in the windmill with Hannah B. Oh. And he seems like a real nice guy and America loves him. Really nice dude.
Starting point is 01:11:12 Just chill. It'll be a good season. Good for him. I didn't know if I was going to open up this article and say, The New Bachelor, Bobby Bones. Well, no. Here's how far that got. No, sometimes, yeah, I'm curious what the update is.
Starting point is 01:11:25 Well, it's not an update, but it was, yeah, there were definitely conversations. And then it was what I want to do, American Idol, where I built a skill set and, or go be the guy that's single and always known as the Bachelor. That was my mindset in the conversation we had. I just didn't want to go be, not, they didn't even offer it, offer it to me. We just had talks. But early on, even my team was like, no, you can't do that. Like, people that do The Bachelor, that's not for you.
Starting point is 01:11:53 And I was like, but the girls, that would be fun. They were like, yeah, like you have worked your whole life to build a skill set. And you get to go and work with American Idol contestants on songs and stage presidents and television. And that's what you're going to do. And I was like, all right. So that's what happened. So I was wondering there were talks, but nothing super, super serious. I'd say level 6.5 out of 10.
Starting point is 01:12:14 Oh. and it was mostly I've worked too hard to go backward Okay But I would have, listen If it would just have to me I'd have done it But I was just advice I was given
Starting point is 01:12:23 That's it Yeah, yeah, okay Well, we'll see No, we won't see There's nothing Oh, about him, yes But I made me no seeing Yeah, yeah, yeah
Starting point is 01:12:31 We won't see you But we'll see Pilot Pete Yes And I was, I mean, I haven't even been watching that show But I feel like now I'll watch, I'm into him You won't watch
Starting point is 01:12:38 You'll say that now Because it's interesting But you won't watch There's too much good stuff To watch That you will like to watch Some people love that show Is their A1 number one
Starting point is 01:12:44 good for them. That's not an A number one for you. Okay. What else? So there's this woman with PTSD and she's having to fight to keep her three support monkeys. And I guess her neighbors, they're kind of annoyed by the monkeys, but her doctor is like, no, no, she needs these
Starting point is 01:13:00 emotional support monkeys by her side for her mental well-being. And so now there's like this big fight. And it made me think like, yeah, if she needs three monkeys for her support, I guess, but if they're loud and like throwing things. This is what it comes down to. What? does the doctor say that she really needs them, right? If the answer is yes, she should be able to keep them.
Starting point is 01:13:20 However, if she is causing a disturbance and the neighbors are upset and it really is hurting their quality of life, she gets to keep them, but she has to move. You can't be in your house. If you had a barking dog all the time, you would get in trouble for a barking dog all the time, even if you get to have the dog. So she gets to keep the monkeys.
Starting point is 01:13:41 This is the judge ruling right here. Well, the ruling is in November. Okay, let me go ahead and cut it off for you. Let's listen to go. Keep the monkeys, but if they're allowed and your neighbors keep complaining about them, you have got to fix that, or we're going to find you all the time. You're constantly going to be fined. So calm your monkeys down.
Starting point is 01:13:56 Sometimes, like, a monkey will be outside on the loose or whatever, and they're just worried that the monkey could attack. Well, if they're just worried and there's been no reason to think that, then stop it. The monkey's bad. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Spank it. There you go.
Starting point is 01:14:13 Okay. I mean, that's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. I'm the host of Earsay, the Audible and I Heart Audio Book Club. This week on the podcast, I'm sitting down with Ray Porter, the narrator of Andy Weir's audiobook Project Hail Mary, massive sci-fi adventure about survival and science.
Starting point is 01:16:07 And what happens when you wake up alone very far from Earth? I really had to make a decision because I caught myself getting that frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm narrating some of these sections. And it's like, okay, yo, yeah, yo, is this indulgent? And I really thought about it. I was like, no, at this point it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that deeply emotionally affected me and I left it on the mic. That's great. Because it served the story.
Starting point is 01:16:40 People will say like, oh my God, I cried at the end. It's like, yeah, dude, me too. Starting point is 01:17:17 That's paycourt.com slash leaders. It's time for the good news with Amy. Tell me something good. So there's this little fourth grader named Kenley and she has autism and she got really overwhelmed one day in the school cafeteria like the noise just really got to her. So she went to lay down on the stage that's in there and then covered up with with a blanket. Well, Miss Esther, who's a custodian at the school, she saw this go down and was like, oh, man, she's having a bad day. So she went and laid down by her side to help calm her down.
Starting point is 01:17:52 Kinley's mom works at the school, so she was able to snap a picture of this, shared it on Facebook, had everyone talking about it, and she said that all schools should be so lucky to have their own angel on campus. That's good. That's a good story. I mean, that kind of story right there is what this is all about. Nice. That was Tell Me Something Good. from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan number two, 30-second skinny. CMT announced their artist of the year honorary class. It includes Carrie Underwood, Dan and Shea,
Starting point is 01:18:21 Kane Brown, Luke Holmes, and Thomas Wrett, and that show will air on CMT on October 16th. I think it's a good pick of people. I mean, they're not the biggest stars, but I think they had one of the best, they had the best year last year. Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Dan and Shea, I mean, they're killing it,
Starting point is 01:18:37 and they're not really getting the recognition by the establishment. So I think great look by CMT to recognize those three. Thomas Rett already gets recognition. Maybe he doesn't get enough as he should, but good for him. And then Kerry. That's a good pick. I like that top five there.
Starting point is 01:18:53 What else? Kelsey Ballerini fan-girl after being on the Kelly Clarkson show and Kelly covered Kelsey's song, Miss Me More. I guess Kelly Clarkson comes out and sings a song every day. Like Kelly Oaky. It's one of her bits every single day. Kind of like Ellen comes out. dancing. Kelly comes out singing.
Starting point is 01:19:14 Yeah, but Ellen's not a professional dancer. Oh, true. Like if I went somewhere and Kelly didn't sing, I'd be like, oh, man, I know what she would have sang. But this solves that problem. She sings on her TV show. All right, what else, Ramundo? Sorry, what else?
Starting point is 01:19:25 Morgan number two? There's a Dolly Parton podcast coming soon. It's called Dolly Parton's America, and it will explore her popularity through interviews with friends, collaborators, and even Dolly herself. And it will start streaming next month. All right, there you have it. Thank you very much. I'm Morgan number two.
Starting point is 01:19:40 That's your skinny. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bones. Let's ask America. Okay, Amy, coming to you with the Morning Corny. The Morning Corny. What do you call it when a pig loses its memory? What do you call it when a pig loses its memory?
Starting point is 01:20:09 Hamnesia. That's pretty good. I was expecting a solid truck like that. That's good, hamneed. Oh, you were. That's good. Yeah. That was the morning.
Starting point is 01:20:18 Morning, Corny! I want to go over to Cheyenne in Georgia, who has called the show. Cheyenne, welcome to the Bobby Bone Show. Hey, how are y'all? Pretty good. What's going on with you? Well, my husband and I are about to become first-time parents in a few weeks. We're really excited, and he doesn't show it as much as I do, but I'm kind of nervous. And I was wondering if y'all had any advice for us.
Starting point is 01:20:43 Well, Amy, I'll go to you first. Now, you had a different... But again, it's a big life change. Yeah. Go ahead. Ooh, I mean, yeah, your life suddenly, just like that, and while it's amazing and awesome, definitely you have no control over your day really more. Everything sort of starts to revolve around your kids, which is great, but you have to be prepared
Starting point is 01:21:04 for that. Like the freedom that you once had, you don't have anymore. And I don't know how tough it's going to be, like if you're going to have a cry or anything, but you're probably, or a baby that doesn't sleep that much, but you're going to be lacking sleep for quite some time. Are you so very pregnant, Cheyenne? I'm almost 35 weeks. So very pregnant.
Starting point is 01:21:25 Yeah, that's very. Eddie, you got like four kids? I do. What's the deal? I think the best advice I can give someone is that just take it day by day, you know? Like, it's one of those things where I don't remember every day of having my kids. Like, there were stressful days. There were great days, bad days, good days.
Starting point is 01:21:44 But at the end of, like now I look at him like, wow, we have four kids. and we did it. Like, we're doing it. And you still have two foster kids. Yeah. They're still at the house. They're still at the house. Will they be there when the year ends, do you think?
Starting point is 01:21:56 I think so. Yeah. I had a crystal ball and kind of just see the way things are working out now with their parents and the system. Interesting. You use the crystal ball reference from about the 20s, but fair enough. If I can look into the future, yeah, I would say, yeah, we're going to have them by then. Yeah. So it's because their parents still haven't met the requirements to get them back.
Starting point is 01:22:14 Right. There's kind of a checklist that their parents have to go through. And if the judge or anyone sees kind of progress going in their way, then they give them time to do it. Eddie has two kids of his own and two foster children, a baby and another kid. And so he's got four kids. Yeah. But don't worry about it. Like, the kids are going to grow up, be a good parent, and you're going to get through it.
Starting point is 01:22:37 Do you ever have it figured out? No. No. But again, isn't that the best advice is that it's okay to not have it figured out? Yeah. Right. Which would also, like, to pile on top of that. would be like don't beat yourself up, beat yourself up over certain things, like not knowing or
Starting point is 01:22:52 trying to figure it out. Like, no, everyone is going with the flow and figuring it out. So take the pressure off of yourself. Shian? Yeah. How you feel about that? Um, that feels good. I mean, I kind of knew we were just going to wing it and learn as we go. So that's what we're going to do. Far less qualified people have had successful babies and raised good kids than you. You sound like a good. And I mean that in the best way. So you're going to kill it. You don't even sound that pregnant. I'll be honest with you. Oh, I don't sound. I look it. You look at what? Go ahead. Oh, you look it. Got it. I thought she was going to say. Yes, I look pregnant. Well, I bet. Well, whatever. Shian, listen. You do you and I will
Starting point is 01:23:41 let us know after you have the baby. Okay. Call us when he's, or she's 18 and we'll see how you did. Okay, y'all have a good day All right, bye bye This girl named Jenna She said she was sleeping and was dreaming very vividly And she had her engagement ring on her finger And then she woke up and it wasn't on her finger Because she swallowed it
Starting point is 01:24:00 She swallowed her engagement ring But why I mean, I don't know that she knows why I don't think we know why we do things while we sleep Yeah Well in her dream she was being chased And her fiance said you got to protect the ring by swallowing it And so she swallowed it
Starting point is 01:24:14 And she woke up and she had really swallowed it. Oh, wow. But it's like, why do we, like, how do you take it off? How do you, all that when we sleep? It's like when I dated a girl once and I was saying another girl's name, I was asleep, we can't really control what we're doing. Oh, that was a trouble too. I remember that.
Starting point is 01:24:30 You told me about that. Oh, gosh. And I couldn't control it. Right. I would apologize. Be like, I'm so sorry. For a while, I'd be like, I don't think I did that. You're crazy.
Starting point is 01:24:41 And the one time I woke up doing it is not good. Anyway, 29 years old from San Diego, she realized she woke up and had unknowingly had a 2.4-carat diamond. Oh, my gosh. Is that big? Yes. Yeah. It's big. How big? Like 2.4 carrots. Is that like Miley Cyrus big? Oh, I don't know if it's like Celebrity Beyonce, but for a normal person, yes, that's big.
Starting point is 01:25:06 That's big. I mean, you would see a 2-carat and be like, whoa, that's big. And that's 2.5? You ever do anything in your sleep where you wake up and you're like, I can't believe I did that. Not that I know of. She wrote the whole ordeal on Facebook and yeah, she swallowed it trying to protect the ring. She took a trip to urgent care where a doctor said, hey, x-ray and right in the middle of her stomach, the shiny rock.
Starting point is 01:25:28 I saw my rib cage in my spine and my engagement ring just sitting there waiting to be found. Does she pass that? I guess she has to pass it, right? Rather than them going in after it? Yeah. But do you, and then when you wear it, Again, after that, that's kind of be weird, huh? Because you have to wear it.
Starting point is 01:25:45 That's not a changeover. It's not like dropping your phone in the toilet and you have to make a decision. No. This is one. Yeah, you just have to do it again. I'm looking at the, I'm looking at the x-ray right now. But yeah, that's nutty. And that would hurt, passing it.
Starting point is 01:26:01 Yeah, I guess depending on the cut. The teardrop. Wait. Stop it, Amy. I did see where Netflix paid half a billion bucks for sign. And I think they're going after, you know, some of that sitcom-ishy audience that has friends in the office. And I watch The Office all the time. The Office is the most stream show in the history of television.
Starting point is 01:26:24 And so Netflix bought Seinfeld for a half a billion bucks. And people are like, yay, look at that. But is Seinfeld today anywhere near Friends or the Office? Because young people watch the office. Young people watch Friends. I don't know that Seinfeld has that. That, it's missing something.
Starting point is 01:26:44 It's like that, it's like that's, like that's, like right before. That's it? Yeah. It's like right before. Yes. I agree. I,
Starting point is 01:26:51 I, if it's on, for whatever random reason, I'll watch it and maybe like, huh, but I mean, I don't binge it like I do friends over and over. I don't either.
Starting point is 01:27:02 If it's on TBS, I'll stop and maybe watch an episode. You know what I watched? I watched Big Bang Theory. That's a good show. I hated it while it was on. I didn't even hate it. I was just a hater
Starting point is 01:27:11 because it was so big. And I was like, man, let's do it. I like it. And HBO Max, I think, paid a ton of money for Big Bang Theory. But I like that show, and I can watch multiple episodes of that. I watched some on the plane yesterday. I watched the one where, and here I go, I go into it. We don't even know.
Starting point is 01:27:28 I know, I know. But Sheldon's playing Conan the Barbarian on his computer. And then she comes over, and she's like, this is a game so stupid. She gets locked out of her place. And then she starts playing and then she becomes addicted to the game. Pretty funny episode. Yeah. Big Bang Theory is funny.
Starting point is 01:27:42 I would put Big Bang, not in life of TV shows, but right now, what I'd rather watch? Big Bang Theory over Seinfeld. Wow. As a show I would rather watch right now. If I'm ranking shows, Seinfeld is obviously bigger. It's a bigger show, more of a cultural phenomenon. But Big Bang Theory, right, if I'm watching, I put that over Seinfeld. You?
Starting point is 01:28:01 I'd watch Seinfeld first. Do you like Big Bank Theory? I don't not like it, but I don't watch it. I mean, I've maybe seen, I've dabbled. So maybe the more. you give it a try, the more you like it. That was for me. So I gave it a try.
Starting point is 01:28:16 I liked it. I watched some more Barry on the plane. It was on the back of my seat. And I'd seen season one of Barry on HBO, but I had started season two and I watched the first episode of season two. That's a funny show. What is it?
Starting point is 01:28:26 I don't know anything about that. Barry is Bill Hater. You familiar with Bill Hater? Yeah. And so he is, he was in the military, and then he comes back and he's kind of out of options. And he is like a hired killer. What do you call those people?
Starting point is 01:28:39 Hit Man. Like a hitman, sure. And so he's a hitman and he goes to do a hit in L.A. And he ends up in this acting class trying to find where he's going to do the hit, this guy. Then he's like, oh, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:28:48 He starts doing the act. Now he's an actor. Okay. It's funny. It's a comedy. Okay, comedy. It's pretty good. The Office reboot is a goal
Starting point is 01:28:56 for the NBC streaming platform. I saw a big story about this where they're wanting to reboot the office. They don't think Steve Krell will come back, but they do think they can get some of the people back. Because you know what else is coming back is saved by the bell. Oh, it is? Well, saved by the bell.
Starting point is 01:29:10 where Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkeley are coming back. And obviously there are going to be younger kids on it. Is that right? Like it's going to be back at school? Oh. Or is it just their lives. Because it can't be saved by the bellfish as adults, right? Yeah, no, it can't be.
Starting point is 01:29:26 Well, they could be teachers. Right, but there are still kids involved. But let's see. NBC announced that, by the way, their new service is called the peacock, which I like. If people are like, I don't like the name of the tree. I like the peacock. It's funny.
Starting point is 01:29:38 It's a good name. And it's their animal. It's literally a peacock. Yeah. And so it'll launch in April, and they've revealed that it'll feature a Save by the Bell revival
Starting point is 01:29:46 with Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkeley. More cast members might be back. Okay, you ready for this? Here's the premise. Zach Morris is the governor of California. Wow. He gets into hot water for closing too many low-income schools,
Starting point is 01:29:59 and so he suggests that the affected students be sent to the highest performing schools in the state, including his alma mater, Bayside. Influx of new students gives the over-privileged Bayside, kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality.
Starting point is 01:30:13 Mario and Elizabeth are back as A.C. Slater and Jesse Spano, but they're parents of the kids at school. Got you. So you knew there had to be kids in the school and there somehow? Yeah. That's interesting that Zach Morris becomes the governor of California, though. And is Belding back? Oh, yeah. It doesn't say, but I would bet he's probably available. I like Mr. Belding as a person. He's been a nice guy.
Starting point is 01:30:34 I want to talk to let's go to Jessica in Arkansas who wants to share a story about being asleep and doing something nutty Hey Jessica, thanks for calling the show Hey, how are you? Pretty good, what do you want to say?
Starting point is 01:30:50 So one night I was having a bad dream Someone was chasing me And apparently I got up from my bed Ran across the room And my husband had left a drawer open On a tall dresser And I clothes lined myself On that dresser drawer
Starting point is 01:31:05 Cut my chin open knocked myself out, dislocated my toe, and had to be taken to the hospital. It's crazy that you did that while sleeping. Like you got out of bed and did an awake thing while sleeping. Yes, and had no idea that I did. It took me a little while to remember that I was having a bad dream. But have you had this in your life before where you've gotten up and done something that you shouldn't have while sleeping? I slept walk a few times throughout my life.
Starting point is 01:31:35 Okay, so this wasn't the first time. But, yeah, but nothing like this where I'm, like, running and, like, you know, have to go to the hospital. Yeah, that stinks. Did you feel it? Like, do you remember that when you hit your chin? No, no. I just remember being in the floor and my husband talking to me and my toe was the worst thing because it was gnarly. It was bad.
Starting point is 01:32:01 Wow. That's wild. I remember once. Well, and I guess drinking's different than just sleeping because Eddie came over. to the house and we had played this big poker game and he you were asleep yeah but you woke up and you started peeing in the corner of your bedroom i do remember dreaming that i was going to the restroom and then i suddenly woke up by my wife's voice going eddie what are you doing and i was using the restroom in the corner of the room yeah it was just like i wouldn't even drinking that
Starting point is 01:32:30 much was it was that sleeping so hard or drinking so hard maybe a little bit of both a little bit of both but Yeah, I mean, talk about waking up and be like, what? Oh my gosh, what am I doing? Oh, oh, sorry. Can you like stop? I don't know. For guys, can you just stop? You wake up and go, well, might as well keep going.
Starting point is 01:32:45 Right. You probably stop. You stop quickly. It's not comfortable. But yeah, you stop. Oh, okay. Sometimes I'll yell myself awake. Because if I rarely get dream sleep, which is hardcore rim, right?
Starting point is 01:33:01 But I do sometimes. Sometimes I'll dream. I'll talk. I just know, I'll wake myself up talking. But sometimes I be like, oh, gee! And I'll be like, whoa, and wake myself up. And I sleep alone. So, you know, there's no one to tell me how much I sleep or kick or do any of there.
Starting point is 01:33:13 Or spit. Who knows what I'm doing while I'm sleeping? But sometimes I'll yell myself awake. What? And I'm like, whoa, it scares me. I think someone's yelling at me. Yeah. So I wake up to the middle of the night and, like, check alarms.
Starting point is 01:33:25 And do you do that? Are you weird at all about that? No. My daughter came, no. And I've been so tired lately. My daughter even came into my room one night. And it was late. Like I was asleep.
Starting point is 01:33:38 And I thought, I don't know what this is. And my husband was gone. I didn't know if it was an intruder. But I was so tired that honestly I was like, seriously, tonight? You know what have it. Of all nights. Like, I don't know what you want. Take whatever.
Starting point is 01:33:49 And then she turns out of the light, mom. And I'm like, oh, okay, it's just you. Thank goodness. I thought. So you were so tired. You were like, intruder. I guess. I had this thought.
Starting point is 01:33:59 I was laying there so exhausted. And I thought, why did I just hear my door open? And part of me was scared. but then part of me is just too tired to even figure it out. I was like, you know what? Whatever.
Starting point is 01:34:10 Take it all. Yeah. Just don't mess with the kids with me but you can have whatever you want. It's fine. The Bobby Bone Show is proud to be supported by Grand Canyon University an affordable, private,

Starting point is 01:37:57 and he's at Iowa State University football game this weekend and college game day from ESPN is there. And they have a morning show where people hold up signs and he holds up a sign that says, Bush Light Supply needs to be replenished, puts his Venmo name and donations start pouring in, pouring in, pouring in. He's like, oh my gosh. So he's at $600.
Starting point is 01:38:16 He goes, you know what? I'm going to donate this money to the children's hospital at the University of Iowa because Iowa State was playing Iowa. Now he's up to like $29,000. Oh, wow. Yeah, so he's money. He said he did go buy him a six pack of beer. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:30 And then he, Venmo and somebody else. Bush Light. Yeah, all said that we're going to match it. So it's at like over $60,000 right now. As of this morning, it was like over $60,000 when I saw it. Wow. Yeah, pretty cool. That's what's all about right there.
Starting point is 01:38:42 That was Tell Me Something Good. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bones. Let's go. Transmating. Rose and Virginia is on. We talked earlier about a woman who swallowed her engagement ring while sleeping. And then we had another caller called in it said she was running in her dream,
Starting point is 01:39:07 and then she woke up and she had run into her dresser, busted her chin or toe. Rose is on, and what happened to you, Rose? About a year ago, I was having trouble sleeping and I took Ambien, and my husband, I guess, at 2 o'clock in the morning, caught me push mowing our lawn, and I woke up, and I was like, no way. And I was totally covered in grass clippings and everything, and my lawn was mowed when I looked outside. That is so weird.
Starting point is 01:39:35 Crazy, huh? I tell you, Rose, I was taking sleeping pills for a bit. It's right when I had been diagnosed with having PTSD from a couple incidents. And I was like, okay, I'll take sleeping pills. And I was so out of my head that I remember driving home from work and getting home and not being able to remember how I got home. I was awake, though, wasn't asleep. And also, I drove off with the gas thing in the nozzle.
Starting point is 01:39:58 I just went out and pumped the gas, swept the car, and just drove off. I was so checked out. And I now would wake up some mornings and look at my FaceTime. And I had FaceTime like eight people. And I don't remember the conversation. That's the closest thing I've ever had to drunk dialing was doing having sleeping pills. I haven't touched one in forever. I haven't touched anything in month, which is great for me.
Starting point is 01:40:20 No, just sleep. I tell you what I was taking, those things from my stomach. I don't know if the gut health is helping me. You mean the probiotics? Yeah. I don't know if that's helping me a bit. Maybe. Our body is so many tiny things
Starting point is 01:40:34 And if we can just affect the right things At the right time I believe you just live a healthier life And I've kind of fixed my gut a little bit And I've been sleeping better because of it I still have nightmares Really vivid when sometimes People holding guns to me
Starting point is 01:40:50 That's what happened But they're fewer and far between But I'll wake up still Maybe once every two weeks now Instead of three times a week Or my heart's going Like that Because I feel like someone's breaking into my house
Starting point is 01:41:01 because all my nightmares are exactly where I am, regardless if I'm in a hotel on the road or at my house. In my nightmare, it's happening in that exact spot. So when I wake up and look around, it's the same place I was just in my nightmare, so I can't really differentiate what's real and what isn't. For about 30, 45 seconds. I have to get out of bed the middle of the night
Starting point is 01:41:19 and walk around and touch things. I've told you that, right? Yeah. I have to go and touch the counter, touch a door, look out, and it takes me a while. And then I can't sleep for mostly the whole night because my heart is beating so hard.
Starting point is 01:41:30 and it's hard to obviously get back to sleep if your heart's, you know, popping. But I've not taken anything. Zanax, sleeping pills for years, any sort of medication or Xanax for months. So it's pretty exciting. Yeah, that is good stuff. For me, it's kind of a big deal. Rose, thank you for sharing that story. That's why, lucky you weren't hurt.
Starting point is 01:41:52 Yeah, no, seriously. Yeah, lucky you weren't hurt. Hey, thank you. Have a nice day. Yeah, you too. All right, see you later. I've got a lot to do here. You want to hear Lunchbox? Go out and talk to people about the U.S. citizenship test.
Starting point is 01:42:04 Yeah. So what's the deal? Yesterday was National Citizenship Day. Got it. And so I figure Americans should know what is on a citizenship test. They should be able to answer the questions if they love America like they claim they do. Now, are these into two parts? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:42:20 Okay, let's hear the question. Do you celebrate the Fourth of July like, woo-hoo, let freedom ring? I celebrate like, oh my God! It's Fourth of July. I'm so happy to be in America. How old do you have to be to run for the president of the United States? Okay, how old do you have to be to run for President of the United States? You're asking me?
Starting point is 01:42:41 35? Okay. Is that what you would guess? That's what I would guess. Okay. Here she is. 45. And the answer is?
Starting point is 01:42:49 35. You got it. She's not drunk, by the way. He usually goes out and does drunk trivia. Oh, I just assumed. But we're being respectful to America. We're asking American questions for sober people. Because if you get, don't get them drunk, you're like, they were just drunk.
Starting point is 01:43:01 But if you miss it sober, it's like, come on, where's your American pride? Right. All right, all right. Go ahead. Next up. USA. USA. It's national citizenship day.
Starting point is 01:43:09 You're a U.S. citizen. Correct. And you love America. America. You know how to spell USA? USA. USA. USA.
Starting point is 01:43:17 U.S. When was the Declaration of Independence adopted? The Declaration of Independence. Now, let's talk through some years here. Supposedly when Columbus got to America. the year? 1492. Right.
Starting point is 01:43:32 The Constitution? 1776. Okay, so where would that put the Declaration of Independence? Oh, the Constitution. I was putting the Declaration of Independence at 1776. That's the answer to lunchboxes this question. Your answer is 1776. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:43:48 What's their answer? July 4th, 1776. Bam. And the answer is July 4th, 1776. Boom. So far, you've got them both right. I love America. Keep your citizenship.
Starting point is 01:44:02 Probably going to miss the next one. All right. Next one. Margie from Boston and you love what, what do you love? I love Bobby Bones. But what do you love about the United States of America? We have freedom. And what else?
Starting point is 01:44:13 Freedom. The first ten amendments to the Constitution are called what? What you got? Um. You got this. The first ten amendments to the Constitution. Right. The preamble?
Starting point is 01:44:26 No. That's the first part of the Constitution. We the people, no? That's the first part of the Constitution. I know this. It's so easy. Give me a hint. Just give me a little hint.
Starting point is 01:44:36 Three words. I don't have the answer in front of me. So if I miss it, just correct me. But it's three words. I need more than that. You already said one of the words. The blank of blank. I did?
Starting point is 01:44:44 The blank of blank. Yeah. I'm right, right. Yeah. Okay. Blank of blank. We. We have people.
Starting point is 01:44:53 Right. Right. The bill of rights. Bill of rights. The bill rights. I knew that was going to be. easy. The bill of rights, yeah. There she goes. Let's do one more. What is it
Starting point is 01:45:02 that you love about America? I love the people and the freedom and... So you consider yourself an American? I absolutely do. Who is the father of our country? Why are you doing a mall walking gesture?
Starting point is 01:45:18 This is the right bit in my head. My first thought in my brain was a church father Abraham had many sons. Well, Abraham from the Bible was not the father of the United States. Father Abraham, I am aware of that. That's why I didn't say anything.
Starting point is 01:45:33 Yeah. Who's the father of our country? The father of our country? George Washington. How confident do you feel on that? Not very. It is George Washington. Yes.
Starting point is 01:45:48 And George Washington could have been king, decided against it. Yeah. Could have stayed as president. For a never. Yeah. Yeah, interesting. And her answer was. George Washington.
Starting point is 01:45:58 There you go, the president number one. Abraham Lincoln, probably close second. He's like the uncle of our country. Father Abraham Lincoln. Oh, my gosh. On the Velvet's Edge podcast, Caroline Bryan went on. Pretty interesting. So she talks about how her and Luke always have a TV show they watch together
Starting point is 01:46:18 and what happened the one time Luke TV cheated. Here's that clip. If we're into a show together, like the other person cannot TV cheat and watch without the other. That's a big thing, the TV cheat. No, he TV cheated once. Oh, wow. What happened? I threw the remote at him.
Starting point is 01:46:34 As you should. I fully support that. Because he said, self, and I said, you watch this without me, didn't you? He said, it was just one episode. It was just one time. Well, he had to rewatch it with me. Well, there you go. This is the, again, the Velvet's Edge podcast.
Starting point is 01:46:53 Carolyn Bryan talks about her first impression of Luke after someone introduced the two of them. All I saw was this guy with these big teeth smiling and waving. He looked like the biggest goober. But it was Luke and we talked briefly. And then we just kind of hung out and we're friends. I say that with air quotations for about a month. And then we started dating.
Starting point is 01:47:19 Yeah, there you have it. And then finally I'll do this. They talk about the best marriage advice she's got and how her and Luke try to go to therapy once a month. Some of the best advice I ever got was do not let small problems become a big problem. He and I haven't been to our counselor in a couple months because it's been so busy. We do try during the year to go at least once a month and just sit down. We'll just talk it out.
Starting point is 01:47:42 So that has helped us. And I do. I believe in that a lot. I really like Caroline Bryan. I've become friends with her over the last couple years. And this podcast is really good. Check out Velvet's Edge with Kelly Henderson. And the latest episode has Caroline Brian on it.
Starting point is 01:47:57 Check it out on IHeartRadio. How about that KFC chicken and donuts sandwich? Yeah. Holy moly. Have you seen it, Amy? No. I saw page 6 talking about it yesterday on Twitter, and I thought it was a joke. But KFC is putting out the chicken and donuts sandwich.
Starting point is 01:48:20 It's a chicken filet between two glazed donuts for $5.99. Wow, it's not even a donut cut in half. It's just two donuts. Don't be crazy. Oh, yeah. Of course it's two donuts. I save on calories. I can't eat it right now because I'm full in the keto.
Starting point is 01:48:37 Oh, that's my keto? No, sugar. That's sugar in the donut. And carbs and the donut. And bread, gluten. All of it. It's just the opposite of what keto is. But look at this.
Starting point is 01:48:49 That looks so good. What? Does it say what sauce they use? Yeah, glaze. Okay. Yeah. From the donut. I thought the same thing because I was like,
Starting point is 01:48:59 wonder what the sauce is right there, but it's glazed. I love chicken. I love donuts. I mean, would you let yourself just have a bite? I mean, even though, right? Not on keto, though, right? No, just one bite.
Starting point is 01:49:11 What if you take a bite, but you don't swallow? Oh, yeah, you can do that. No, I'm a swallower. Just taste it and like spit it out. Nah, I don't want to do that. Yeah, that's who would do that. Yeah, no. And the other thing is they have a pizza.
Starting point is 01:49:26 Pizza, it's doing a cheese-it stuffed pizza. Yes. Okay, which is better to you. The cheese-it-stuffed pizza or the donut chicken. Okay, so the pizza is stuffed with cheez-its? Mm-hmm. It's, here it is. It's a combination of its pizza and cheese-it snacks.
Starting point is 01:49:45 It's called stuffed cheese-it pizza, and the squares are stuffed with cheese or pepperoni. So it's, it looks like a humongous cheese-it. Oh, got you now. Okay. But it's like pizza in the cheese that instead of... Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:49:59 Now I know my answer. Which would you rather have? I'm going with the chicken nut. Donut chicken. Does it have a nickname? You gave two terrible ones. Chicken nut. My nickname in college.
Starting point is 01:50:12 Eddie? Oh, I'm going to have to go with the donut chicken. Yeah. Lunchbox. Oh, easy. Donut chicken. Cheez-It's are disgusting. We're going four for four on the donut chicken.
Starting point is 01:50:21 You too? I'm also not a chees-it guy. Oh, I actually like cheese-it, so it wasn't an easy decision. but I love salty sweet. Yeah, me too. So. Yeah, too. I thought those were two interesting food combinations.
Starting point is 01:50:31 Like, really, we're just all going to die, right? We see this. We've been going down this path for a while. They should just give us a block of sugar. It's just like. Fry it. Yeah, come by, have a block of sugar with a pepperoni on it. Like, I'm there.
Starting point is 01:50:44 The end. Okay, well, I'll give it a shot. All right. You know who really nails some of this stuff, though? It's Taco Bell when they do some of this. Oh, they do it right at Taco Bell. By the way, not a commercial. Like,
Starting point is 01:50:56 I still love cinnamon twists. Again, not a crazy concoction, but I have a old joke in my comedy act where it's, I act like, whatever. But I talk about cinnamon twist. And every time I do this joke, I'm like, man, I should go buy Taco Bell and just get them cinnamon twist. Because they still make them, right? Yeah. Yeah. That reminds me at college so much, like that age of my life.
Starting point is 01:51:13 When, and most of my, because for most of my college life, I was, I go to 8 o'clock class until about one. Work at the college radio station until about three. drive an hour and a half to the radio station KLAZ in Hot Springs work until midnight or so 1 a.m. Drive backstop at Waffle House and then go to class. And it was a cycle. I study all night, get about four or five hours sleep. But at some nights I would stop at Taco Bell
Starting point is 01:51:39 or if I got out in time. Because I would usually close at one in Arkansas. But I would get Mountain Dew a big one, not even a medium or a large. I would get that like the bucket. And Mountain Dew and like four crunchy tacos. and I would get cinnamon twists. Sometimes like four bag cinnamon twists.
Starting point is 01:51:58 It was so good. Give me a break. You changed so much. I love it though, man. And we'll still stop a toggle bell on the road. Oh yeah, we still do. Because again, if we're in a bus, we're traveling, we'll wake up in the middle of the night and we'll stop.
Starting point is 01:52:12 But Taco Blonde has healthy options too, which you can get. So like one of those bowls. Salad bowl. Yeah. Like they have like a protein bowl. It's good. So anyway, I just saw that. I wanted to bring that up.
Starting point is 01:52:21 I do have some people we were like, hey, I'm so tired that blank. Remember that before we went away? All right, so tired that blank. Amy, you go up first. So tired that I got into the shower with my socks on. Did you turn the water on? Yeah, I always turn the water on and let it heat up. Then I get in.
Starting point is 01:52:39 I'm ready to go. But like, everything was off except for my socks. And I was like, what? It's just one of those moments where I knew I needed sleep. For me, and I've done this a few times, I get in with my glasses on. And I'm like, why can't I see? Why is the water in my eyes? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:52:54 Because I'm just whooped, and I'm like, oh, I'm an idiot. I love my glasses on in the shower. So it's kind of the same thing. You forget about one of your accessories. Yeah, which is wet socks. Yeah. Let's do Kimba in Delaware. Hey, Kimba.
Starting point is 01:53:08 How are you? Welcome to the show. You're so tired that blank. I was so tired once that I fell asleep against the beam pole at my work. Yeah, that falling asleep standing up is tough. Yeah. Yeah, that's one when you know you have trouble. By the way, Eddie and I are giving me in Delaware next weekend.
Starting point is 01:53:27 Not this weekend. I believe our first time ever in Delaware. Yep, for sure, mine. I've never been in Delaware. The Raging Idiots. We're doing Richmond. A Richmond sold out. I think Delaware that's a few tickets left.
Starting point is 01:53:37 But I've never been in Delaware. I'm excited. Me too. I've only like four states I've never been to, and Delaware is one of them. Oh, yeah. Cross them off. Yeah, if you want to come to the show, Raging Idiots.com, would love to see you. Let's do AJ in Indiana.
Starting point is 01:53:50 Hey, AJ. Morning. Morning. What you think? You're so tired. the blank. I was so tired that I told my now current wife when we were dating that I loved her for the first time. Oh, that's how, wait, did, Ned, are you happy you did?
Starting point is 01:54:07 You told her you loved her? I'm happy now, but she woke me up and she goes, what did you say? And I go, what did you say? She goes, you just told me you love me. And I go, uh, I do love you. That's a good play, because that's good. Did you start saying it pretty regularly after that? Yeah, it kind of worked out that way.
Starting point is 01:54:28 That's good. I like that play. Yeah. And you could say it too, and if she doesn't say it back, he was like, sorry, I was sleeping. Like, I like that. It kind of put you in that spot of, then she's got to commit because you're only half committed. Put the ball in her court. Now I'm fully committed.
Starting point is 01:54:42 We have twins on the way next week. Look at this. Come on. Come on. Nice job. Hey, appreciate that call, AJ. Thank you, guys. Have a great day.
Starting point is 01:54:51 See you later, buddy. My ex-girlfriend's in town. who we were together for like four or five years, speaking to that. Mm-hmm. Who, I never said that. I guess I've never said to any girl. I love you.
Starting point is 01:55:04 Yeah, but that was the one that Amy still holds on. And I can't believe you didn't say it. You were together four or half years. Because you loved her. But I'm, but I never said that. I know. But I didn't say that. I've never said to anyone.
Starting point is 01:55:14 I know. But did you love? Now I'm just going to wait until like. I think he did, don't you? Now I'm just going to wait until like five years into my first marriage and make it a thing. He's avoiding it, but he did. It's fine. Did you both?
Starting point is 01:55:25 I'm going to therapy today. Oh, you're going therapy the same day that she's all spent time. That's good. It all happens to fall together at the same time. This is the only day that I'm in town. And I'm going to therapy at 215, my new therapist. Yeah. And I'm going to go.
Starting point is 01:55:40 Second visit? Second visit? Second. To the new therapist. And we'll work some stuff out. And then that's it. You all going to talk about her? No, I mean, I don't.
Starting point is 01:55:51 If it comes up. It's not the plan. Okay. I didn't bring her to town. She happened to be in 10. No. This is all a happenstance. So I'm down with this conversation.
Starting point is 01:55:59 I don't like how I feel right now. I feel attacked by you guys' eyes and your emotions right now. Hey, what's the hat? What's the haps, Amy? So ABC canceled designated Survivor. Do you know that? There's no longer on there. It's on Netflix now, right?
Starting point is 01:56:16 Netflix picked it back up, so I started watching it. And I'm on episode two. I guess it's of the third season. But there's more allowed on Netflix that wasn't allowed on like, The network? Did they cancel it on Netflix, though, too? Well, I'm still watching it. They recorded the season, I guess.
Starting point is 01:56:34 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know they have a third season. It seems like that was in the news again. Oh, well, I literally just discovered it was even on Netflix and that they had picked. I even had to Google, what happened to designated Survivor on the network? And then it reminded me it canceled it and Netflix picked it up. So now, hey, I don't know if they're going to make any more, but the third season's up there and I'm watching it. Let's go to Mike D.R. Stat guy.
Starting point is 01:56:55 designated survivor canceled again. They canceled it again. This show just can't survive. Well, here's the problem. My husband's struggling with it because he sees Kiefer Sutherland as the 24 dude. He's Jack Bauer. I love this show first season. I just never got into it.
Starting point is 01:57:13 I don't know why. No reason because I liked it. And it's based on the true premise. And I guess what they really do, they take someone and they put them away from whenever. Anything. Yeah. So if a bomb blows up, there's one person left. And once that show became big on ABC, they started saying who the designated survivor was every time they would have like a meeting at the house.
Starting point is 01:57:32 But the streaming service said all 50 plus episodes of the program will remain available on Netflix despite his cancellation. It is a good show. I liked it. I like it too. Yeah. Hey, thanks. That's what's. Hey.
Starting point is 01:57:44 Hey, what's the hats? Okay, what's the haps with you? Tonight, I'm playing the grand old opery. And for comedians, they do walkout music. They're like, hey, what song do you want to play? Because I go and do stand-up at the Opry. And like, what music do you want to come out to? What song do you think I picked?
Starting point is 01:58:04 It's going around the room. Interesting. Because I'll play it for you. At the Opry? But is it? Well, I mean, they're like, what's your walk-out music? And so I picked this song to walk out to. Don't play it yet, right. What do you think I chose to walk out to?
Starting point is 01:58:18 I mean, look at me in the eyes. You know me. I know I know you. Well, I mean, I'm trying to think if it would either be, like a John Mayer song or a Weezer song. I'm trying to look at you to channel what you would have done. Are you disappointed in me right now? I haven't done anything except looking.
Starting point is 01:58:38 Is it John Mayer? I've just looked in your eyes. But why would you want to walk out to stop this train? Go ahead. Stop this train. Or Nirvana. Why would I go out to Nirvana? I like Nirvana as a kid.
Starting point is 01:58:54 Go ahead. What do you got? I'm going to say you walk out to John Mayer. Okay. Eddie. I'm going to guess, I don't know why, but the Price is Right. Thee music came to my head. I don't think you're doing that, though.
Starting point is 01:59:05 It just popped in my head. I think you're going to do 90s hip-hop, Humpty Dance. At the Opry. At the Opry. Okay. Lunchbox. It's easy. Man, I feel like a woman.
Starting point is 01:59:14 Because you're going out to tell jokes, so it's kind of funny. The crowd laughs when Bobby Bones walks out to a chick song. That's how you get the crowd going, started for your set. Man, I feel like a woman. You do listen to Merrin Morris before you go on stage. Oh, wow. to perform like at your comedy shows.
Starting point is 01:59:30 Go ahead. That's your pregame music. You've already guessed. Okay, okay, fine. And it's not Marin though. Morgan number two, would you like to take a guess? Maybe that Bill Withers song? Oh, ain't no sunshine?
Starting point is 01:59:40 Yeah. Solid, but not really to walk out to. First of all, I wouldn't walk out to 90s hip-hop at the opera. You wouldn't? No. Interesting. It's not ain't no sunshine. It's not, man.
Starting point is 01:59:50 I feel like a woman. Oh, Johnny Cash. Now you're, I was going to walk out to, like, boy named Sue. or I walked the line. Yeah. But I didn't. I didn't. You ready for the answer?
Starting point is 02:00:03 Well, so it wasn't right. No. No one's right. When I play it, you're going to go, oh, how do we not get that right? Three, two, one, hit it. Right. And man, they're going to love it, too.
Starting point is 02:00:16 Love it. Golden Girls' team song. Know your audience. No, I'm the audience. I love this song. Me too. The raging edits even in the cover. Boom, bum, bum,
Starting point is 02:00:26 and if you threw a one. Thank you very much, everybody. Yeah. So does the band play this, or do you play, like, just this version over the speaker? Well, I asked them, because this is the TV show version, but I haven't played the Andrew Gold version. Okay. The original version of the song. So I'm assuming Andrew Gold is not going to show up.
Starting point is 02:00:44 Right. So they'll probably just play it over a speaker. Okay. So that's what I'm walking out to tonight at the Grand Ole Opry. You want to come here in town, come to the Opry. I mean, it's me, Chris Jansen, Michael Ray, and High Valley that I know of. So it's a good lineup. So there you go.
Starting point is 02:00:57 That's what's the haves. Hey! What's the hat? Lunchbox? Oh, today I go back to the foot doctor to get my foot looked at, get some x-rays, see if everything's healing properly, maybe be able to get the boot off. So yeah, everybody say a prayer for me if you can,
Starting point is 02:01:12 you know, like to the foot gods and hope my foot's okay. What about just the one god? Right. Why the foot gods? Just the one guy. Let's just, you know, stay streamlined, straight up, you know, go right up to the one god. But whatever you want.
Starting point is 02:01:24 It doesn't get lost. Yeah, just say some positive words. Right to the CEO is where I like to go. The main boss. Hey. Hey. Hey. What's the hat?
Starting point is 02:01:35 Eddie, last one. My foster kid is starting to crawl now, the baby. And we didn't really expect that to come that quick. He's crawling all over the house, stressing me out. And apparently his older brother started walking when he was 10 months old. So I'm expecting him to start walking here in the next month or so. I mean, like the stairs aren't really guarded. So now we caught him trying to.
Starting point is 02:01:57 crawl up the stairs. It's really freaking us out a little bit. You gotta build the house now to baby proof it again. Yeah. Which we hadn't done that in like five years. Good luck. Thank you, man. That's what's the haps. Hey, what's the hat? Oh yeah. What's up for your podcast? What do you have up? What was your last episode? Oh, my last episode is my, where I talk about rolling your face with ice. I was watching your Instagram story and you had the ice roller because I didn't know.
Starting point is 02:02:26 when you talk about it, it sounds like you grab ice and you put it on your face. Right. What it is, it's like a, it's like a steamroller. I would compare the look of that thing to a slingshot, but in the slingshot part it's like a cold thing. Yeah, that freezes. And you rub this thing on your face. And I was like, oh, that makes total sense.
Starting point is 02:02:43 Yeah. Check out Amy's podcast called Four Things with Amy Brown. I even was into it. I was like, I should get one of these. I think I told you that. And you're like, yeah, I'm good. But yeah, it's tempting. And it feels so.
Starting point is 02:02:56 Nice. Well, and I gotta go find a place to get Botox because you've been telling me to do that for a while. No, I haven't been telling you that. So I gotta go and hit that up. Do you have anyone you recommend? I do. Oh, you really do? I do.
Starting point is 02:03:08 I know nothing about that. I didn't tell you that. The person, actually, I would recommend you, said she saw your face as a canvas. That's a good. She's an artist. Yeah, good. All right, what's happening tonight? Let's go.
Starting point is 02:03:23 Tonight, let's see. You know what I bought? I bought two of those presidential teleprompters. Oh. The clear ones. Yeah? Because I'm doing a lot of speaking in the next six months. Where do you get those? Amazon?
Starting point is 02:03:36 Yeah, they have companies to make them. Oh, okay. Like real. I mean, I bought the real deals because, and then I've been working for the past three months on like this 45-minute big speech. And so I'm going to go around and deliver it for it. But I have to go today and make sure that all the equipment works out. Okay.
Starting point is 02:03:52 I know. I have to go test it out. It's going to be pretty cool. I'm pretty excited about those problems. Set that up in your room or how old? No, I've been set up in an office. Oh, okay. So I'm going to go, my tour manager from my comedy shows and Regging Idiot shows is the one that put them together and got them is going to, like, we're going to practice it today.
Starting point is 02:04:07 Oh, because I was like, are you nervous to travel with those? Because it seems like they might break. Well, she'll travel with them. Okay. And if they break, it'd be her fault. Boom. Yeah. So, no, but they're in case.
Starting point is 02:04:16 They're a travel case. It's like we travel with, you know, our stuff for our stage show, even guitars. It's all fine. They don't break. So I want to go do that. I have therapy today at two. 215. I got to get on the bike
Starting point is 02:04:28 because I have a street going of like 40 weeks on this bike. This is the only day that I'm home to do this. I got to ride my bike to keep my street going. Oh yeah, because you haven't missed
Starting point is 02:04:36 a full week? No. Okay. I love streaks. Even when you went to... No, I got to go. Well, because they had bikes in the hotel I was staying
Starting point is 02:04:43 when I do American Idol. Yeah. They have those bikes in the lobby, in the room. So I log in. Perfect. I'm going to play the opera
Starting point is 02:04:50 tonight. So come out to the Grand Ole Opry. It's me, Chris Jansen. High Valley, Michael Ray. So that would be a pretty good opera show. Lots of dots. Lots of dots today.
Starting point is 02:05:02 It's the fall of dots is what I'm calling this fall. So that's what I'm doing. What are you doing? I have a workout today.
