Broadcasting from the 56th annual CMA Awards. It's the Bobby Ball Show. Hey, it's Lunchbox.
And Amy. And we are here with Lainie Wilson. I feel as though the woman now that needs no
introduction. Oh my gosh. Well, I'll take that. Well, she needs introduction because we're on a
podcast and so they can't really see us so they have no idea so it's like wow you don't know who it is
you know honestly you can listen to me talk until immediately yes that is a good point sometimes
we do play uh voices on the bobby bone show like it will play a quick artist saying one thing
and you have to guess who it is you'd be able to do yes we would know you right away this is now
when you're in public like let's say you go to target i don't know if you go to target maybe you're
more of a walmart girl i don't know you know or dollar general you know i like a lot of people
recognize you because of your voices. I'm going to tell you when I go out in public,
people hear my voice. Like, oh my gosh, you know what I mean? Because I got the thick accent.
Yeah. Or I sound like a man.
Honestly, I feel like a lot of the places I've been going lately. I hadn't been doing a whole
lot of talking. Like I just get in. I get out. I go to Walmart. I get my stuff. I get out.
But today I did have some folks at the airport at 7 a.m. this morning. And when I tell you,
I was looking rough. They're like, can I get my picture? I'm like, can you put a filter on
it, please? Do you feel like when you do look rough?
and they want to take a picture?
Do you ever feel like saying, you know what?
I'm not looking my best, so let's not do pictures.
I say, you know what?
At the end of the day, it is what it is.
I'm not always glammed up and, you know.
Yeah, me either.
I feel you on that, Laney.
We're real.
I know, I know.
I feel like Laney's the type that I'll always take it no matter what,
because you are very much.
I think that's part of what people love about you
and what's so endearing is just you are who you are and you keep it real.
I try to.
I got a lot of people in my life, though,
that make sure I keep it real.
Okay, good.
Like my family back home and even my family here in Nashville, I feel like they just, yeah,
if I ever start acting like not myself, they're going to let me know.
But it's hard to when we become big celebrities that, you know, we start losing a little
of that a reality because, you know, we do get treated a little bit different.
Have you noticed that the more fame you get, the better you're getting treated, the more free stuff you're getting?
I'm not going to lie.
I'm like, well, now that I can afford stuff, I'm getting free stuff.
Isn't that right?
I'm like, what in the world?
for sure, you know, and I've noticed a few people treating me different that weren't real nice to me a few years ago that I'm like, I got your number.
I'm going to be nice to you too, but I got your number.
Yeah.
But that's how it goes.
And I got a question.
Do you make all your pants?
Do you get your pants for free?
Is it a combo of the both?
Because now that you're famous, do everybody want, hey, we got bell bottoms.
I guess they're called bell bottoms, right?
That is correct.
We're going to get you a bear too long.
No, I don't need bell bottoms.
But I watch America's Next Top Model or runway, whatever, where they do the clothes.
Oh, yeah.
Project Runway.
Runway. That's it. And making the cut is another one with Heidi Klum. So do you get those for free now?
No. These I got a lady makes them. They're called Cat 09s. You can find them on Etsy.
These are some of my favorites just because they're stretchy. They're like, they're like swimsuit material.
I mean, they're so comfy. But I do have a lot of like boutiques send me stuff.
That's what I'm talking about. Yeah, tag. We'll get that little tag. We all like that. Pretty stuff. Hit me up on Instagram, radio lunchbox.
That's right. Now, my question. So you.
saw Bobby's little
CMA bit. You commented on TikTok
the video. Yeah.
Can Bobby get in trouble for that or do you think
people... Oh my Lord, don't
even get me started on that. Because people are threatening to beat them up
to cancel him and so what
do you think about this whole drama? Lord,
have mercy. I'm just like, how are you
going to try to cancel Bobby Bones? I mean,
for real. And also
what he said about me on his thing, I thought it was funny.
I'm like, the
digger, you know, the deeper they dig.
Like, I think it's hilarious. What he said is actually kind of
true about my hotel. What did he say? He said, Lainey's got six nominations, and that's more than her town
could count to. I was like, well, I mean, a few of them, you're probably right. Not my family,
but. People want to end Bobby for that, right? Which is crazy. So, but I want to talk about, like,
if you know that you're in hospice care and your life's about to end, Lainey, what is the last
meal you're going to have on earth? Why, why does it have to be hospice? It's going to be, yeah, why
hospice. Why are you going to put me in hospice?
Well, that way you know your life's going to end, so you know you get to order your last meal.
I would rather like death row or something.
Okay, death row. All right, death row. You're on death row.
Let's imagine you're receiving palliative care.
Yes, Lord have mercy. You ain't right.
I would say Johnny's pizza in northeast Louisiana.
What do you get on your pizza?
I just like it, just pepperoni.
I'm pretty basic.
I mean, I will branch out a little bit here and there, but every now and then there's nothing just like a good pepperoni pizza.
I agree with that.
And now I want to know, now that you become more famous,
your cell phone is starting to fill up with cool numbers.
Because famous people get famous people's number.
What's the coolest number you got on your cell phone?
Oh, my gosh.
What is the coolest number I have?
I need some help with this one.
I mean, probably one of the, like Morgan Wallen,
I've got Luke Combs, but I've known those dudes for years.
So whenever I got their phone number, I didn't think it was that cool.
Right, right, right.
They were just normal dudes then.
They were just normal dudes.
But I think it's pretty cool to have like Tracy Lawrence and, you know, heroes like that.
Okay.
And before, you know, we go, I know everybody, they're giving us the wrap-up signal.
I see the fingers.
I saw it.
I know you had to go to rehearsal and I'm sorry, but I feel like this is very important.
In your head right now, what's the first Christmas song?
Sing me the first Christmas song that you always think of when it's Christmas time.
I sure do like those Christmas cookies, sugar.
George Strait.
I sure do like those Christmas cookies, babe.
That's a good one.
Come on, you got it.
You're next.
Tag you with.
I don't know.
Jingle bells, jingle all the way.
We're doing a medley.
Oh, what fun it is to hang out with Laney Wilson.
Goodbye.
The CMAs are live tonight.
At 8.7 Central on ABC.
Lunchbox here with Dylan Scott.
What's up?
What's up?
Now, do you talk like this all the time or is that just when you're...
It's my allergies, man.
Is that what it is?
Yeah.
No, but every time I get talking, you got this deep boys.
Like, I feel like I have a deep boy.
And you think you have a deep voice?
Oh, heck yeah.
Oh, yeah.
You don't think I...
It's pretty good.
I sound like a man.
You do sound like a man.
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.
Yeah, it's that rass.
Yeah.
And you being a manly man, you know what I mean?
Got that deep voice, Dylan Scott.
When you get dressed in the morning, I don't want to know about the whole process.
I'll give it to you.
I mean, you can give it to me.
Do you brush your teeth first?
No, I don't actually.
No, I'll wake up, check my phone, and I go straight to coffee before I brush.
my teeth because it just tastes better.
You don't want to brush your teeth and then drink coffee.
I've never had coffee, so I don't know.
Okay, well, you don't want to do it.
It tastes gross.
It's just gross, yeah.
Drink your coffee and then go brush your teeth, shower, what you got to do, get dressed.
So when you're getting dressed, and you're putting your nice cowboy boots on or your tennis shoes, whatever you're putting on, do you go sock, shoe, shoe, or do you go sock, sock, shoe?
man i just go i go jeans no underwear sock shoe and then sock shoe what does what do you mean
because no no because you got to put two socks on two shoes so i don't know some people put on
their socks and then they put on their shoes but oh i see what you're saying yeah you're throwing me
over here so i go sock sock sock
shoe shoe man it took you while to think about that you you you really contemplated
i had no idea what you were talking about way over my head i was thinking you meant sock shoe
and then put a sock over my shoe and then a shoe you know what i'm saying yeah no no i wasn't trying
to make it too i was trying to be nice and easy like it was just a simple how do you get dressed
question yeah like you went full oh i don't wear you don't wear underwear and jeans
well i thought you were trying to give me a trick question no no i was trying to trick question you
No, I literally was not.
I was literally just...
We could talk about it, though.
I do wear underwear.
See, now I'm very good.
You have to.
Yeah, I don't understand how you...
Because when you said, I put my jeans on, no underwear, like, that seems like a disaster.
It's a disaster.
Don't ever do it.
But yeah, sock, sock, shoe.
That's it.
What do you do?
I do sock shoe, sock shoe.
Super weird.
No, why?
Because here's why.
I'm going to tell you why?
Because you're on your left foot, right?
Yeah.
So why would you waste time by going to your right foot?
You do this standing up?
No, I sit down.
Okay.
Yeah, oh, no, I'm so unflexible.
I can't even touch my toes, so I got to sit down.
But I'm saying I'm on my left foot.
So why would I go from my left foot to my right foot, back to my left foot?
It seems very inconvenient with your time.
So I'll tell you why I do socks, sock, sock, shoe,
because when you grab your socks out of the drawer and they're together and you undo them,
you've got both of them in your hand, right?
Yeah, you set one down.
Set one down, put it on.
Yeah, toilet paper over or under, you know.
Which do you do?
I'm under.
Wow.
You're not.
No, I do toilet paper over where you pull it down and you pull it up.
Oh, no, no.
It still goes down.
Oh, it still goes down, but it's on the backside.
It's on the backside.
That is so weird.
I don't know why that is.
I don't know why I find that weird.
And like, how do we get in these little routines?
Do you have other weird routines that you have to follow?
Like, are you a superstitious person?
I can be a little superstitious.
Nothing at the moment I don't feel like.
But, yeah, I fix my hair for I put my hat on.
why is that because you want it to can you see it right here i do see it's always oh so you wanted to
look good in that little bitty hole right there you know like before you go on stage is there
something that you always do a song you listen to a phone call you make like um no there's a lot of
times when i go on stage like 15 minutes for i walk on i'll still be in like jim shorts and stuff
yeah like when you watch a sports team like if you're if you're watching someone and you're like
see see like what i knew is if i'm watching i'm a big kansas jahawk bass
basketball fan. So if they win the game, that next game, I wear the same shirt. Oh, yeah, no.
And I don't wear anything different. No. It's really weird. And it's sort of like when the
Giants were playing the Angels in the World Series way back when, and I think it was like 2002 maybe,
and I wanted the Angels to win. I didn't want the Giants to win. And my roommate, my brother and I were
all watching it. And the Angels came back in one, game six. So they were going to Game 7. The next night,
my roommate couldn't be there. So we laid out his clothes in the exact spot in the
house and the angels won.
That explains your socks shoe, sock shoe.
I'm a weird, dude.
I get it, 100%.
I'm a weird individual.
It's okay to be weird.
And it's okay to be weird.
And, you know, we're about to wrap this up because they gave me a rap signal.
Yeah.
So before you go, though, I mean, before you go here and before you go in this life, like,
before you leave this earth, what would be your last meal?
My last meal?
You know what?
Probably just a good old pepperoni pizza with extra cheese.
Nothing special.
I love it.
That's it?
Yeah.
Nothing fancy, just nice cheese pepper.
Pepperoni pizza.
pizza, all up in the mouth.
It's just great comfort food.
If I leave this war, I want to go comfortable.
And before you leave and you have your cell phone there, and you're like, man, I'm going
to call the coolest celebrity in my phone before I leave.
Who is that celebrity in your phone?
The coolest celebrity in my phone is probably just Luke Brian.
That's cool.
Why is it just Luke Brian, though?
You say just Luke Brian?
Like, that's no big deal.
Because we're buddies.
You know what I know.
I know, but you were like, it's just Luke Brian.
It's Luke Brian.
It is Luke Brian.
I guess because you kind of get, once you become friends and you talk.
and text and do crazy stuff.
It's not like, it's, you know what I mean.
Yeah, I know what you're saying.
Yeah, I know what you mean.
When I hang around the other celebrities, it's like, oh, no big deal because we're all
celebrities, so it's not that big.
Yeah, we all either do socks, shoe, socks, sue, or.
Yeah, like, when I'm at the club in Vegas and LeBron's in the same club, I'm like,
that's no big deal.
Celebrity, celebrity, not a big deal.
And then Christmas time.
Yep.
First Christmas song that pops in your head.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
There you go
Just like the one I used to know
And when he's singing that, just imagine
He has jeans on but no underwear
And he goes sock sock, shoe, shoe
And I will see you later, Dylan Scott.
Thank you very much.
Don't miss the 56 annual CMAs
Live on ABC
Tonight
At 87 Central
What's going on?
Yeah, yeah
Come on
Why did that very read when she does it?
Well, it's because she matched my pitch.
I don't know what that means.
radio for all these years.
Oh, boy.
Oh, we're good.
It's Lunchbox.
And Amy.
And we're here with Breeland.
What's up?
Breeland, I just want to say this interview.
I got the first question is going to set the stage for how this is going to go, okay?
And speaking of being on stage, you're going to be on stage at Geotis Park next summer with Kelsey Ballerini and Shania Twain.
Indeed.
And so I know you get free tickets, so I need two tickets to that show.
Can I be on your guest list so I can take my wife?
This is so awkward
Yeah
I think
Why is that awkward
I have to look
I've been thumbsed up
Yes that's what I'm talking about
I can't
I can't make all those decisions myself
Because I got to make sure
That my team is able to be there
First and foremost
But then beyond that bro
That is what I'm talking about
You and the misses
Now if you had said that it was like
You and a homie I would have been like nah
No no
But it's family
It's my wife
And so it's gonna be a little
Anniversary surprise for her
I love that
So I was like man this is perfect
I'm gonna have Breeland here
I'm gonna corner him
And I'm going to ask him.
And now that you said yes, I just want to tell you.
You also got the lunchbox stamp of approval.
There you go.
Because you came in the studio and you performed.
And let me tell you, I don't care about music.
Like, I don't listen to music that much.
Okay.
And after you left our studio, I went home and listened to your EP.
Oh, man.
And I was like, this dude's jams.
Like the vibe is fun.
And I was like, I came back and I said, guys, Breeland, lunchbox stamp of approval.
That's right.
Okay.
We got Amy here with us, the most stylish, most beautiful woman in country radio.
What?
Okay.
Okay.
I mean, what?
Okay.
Well, we're interviewing.
you and complimenting you and your awesomeness. But I got to say, I follow you on Instagram.
And fun fact, I actually saw you on a flight last night. We were on the same airplane.
Indeed, we were on the same flight. Flying back into Nashville, which was super fun. But speaking of
airplanes and flights and your Instagram, you had posted a couple of weeks ago that some woman
went into labor on your flight and you'll have to do an emergency landing. Do you know if she had her
baby? Well, they couldn't tell us that. Unfortunately, HIPAA reasons. I'm hoping she's okay.
She was very early
So it wasn't like an ideal timing situation
We landed in Iceland
And we sat there for a couple hours
And then they had to like redo all of the like
Engine checks and you know
Make sure that the plane was ready to go back out onto the ocean
So I've been to Iceland now
So they come over the PA and say someone's in labor?
Yes
Oh wow
Yeah and
But you're over the ocean
But so like initially I had this road of myself
and this is like just goes to show you how quickly a story can turn.
I had this, I was sitting, I had a window seat,
and the two people next to me never showed up.
So it was totally by myself.
I'm like, this is great.
I'm kicking my feet out.
I'm like sleeping like I'm on like a chaise.
And then this dude comes over and taps me.
He was like, hey, I got to sit here now.
And I was like, dang, like, what's going on?
And he was like, oh, like, the woman next to me is going into labor.
And she, like, threw up everywhere.
And I was like, oh, what?
And I was like, okay, well, hopefully she's all right.
I'm like, kind of like, do we have to land for that?
And then 10 minutes later, they're like, oh, yeah, like, this is a real situation.
So I'm hoping she's all right.
Wow, because I've been on a plane when we were going into Houston and they come on, they say,
do we have any doctors on the plane?
There's somebody having a medical.
There should always be a doctor on the plane.
And I'm like, and I always put doctor on my airline ticket because it's,
because Breedlin, this is why, let me tell you.
Oh, my gosh.
I believe that the flight attendants are going to treat you nicer if they see doctor like,
oh, Dr. Box is getting on the plane.
Oh, how you doing?
Would you like it?
You know, so I always think I put doctors.
I'm like, oh, man, they're going to think I'm a doctor and they're going to come ask me for help.
So I did this.
And like, I'm asleep.
Goodness gracious.
That's the plan.
Okay, Breeland.
We are going to do some rapid fire questions with you really quick.
So we got to know, it's your last day on earth, sadly.
Okay.
But it's been a good run.
Yeah.
Okay.
You've crushed life.
Not presently.
Yeah, no.
But, yeah.
Way down.
Right.
Not today.
No, no, no.
We're talking like you have so.
Hypothetically, we are about to mourn the loss of you.
Yep.
What is your last meal?
My last meal is scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes with fruit.
Nice.
He's the first person that's gone breakfast.
Yes, everybody goes steak, potatoes.
Yeah, I'm like, why would I do that, man?
I love breakfast.
Okay, yeah.
Love it.
And now that you, you know, your phone is starting to fill up with really cool people.
Okay.
More famous you get.
Who's the coolest celebrity in that cell?
phone?
Garth Brooks.
Not bad.
Not bad. He's up there.
Not bad. That's really cool.
So how does that go? Are you like, you
did you ask for their digits?
No, he's,
Garth is probably like, hey, let me give me my number.
Oh, he doesn't say, hey, Garth can I get your number?
You tell us.
Yeah, well, he actually just like reached out.
So I got his number because he sent me a text and was like,
hey, would love to like connect with you.
And we went and I went to his house and we chatted for a little bit.
And he's a great, a great mentor figure.
Wait, wait, you went to Garz Brooks's house?
Well, that is legit.
I went to Tricia Yearwood's house.
Yeah, that's right.
That's right.
He would probably tell you that himself.
That is awesome.
He says he's Mr.
Ewerks.
I know, but he's still so cool.
I mean, he was in their house.
That's so cool.
That's so cool.
He also said mentor of sorts,
which I think is super cool that someone,
I'm sure you have many that have taken that role in your life.
And aren't mentors just the coolest.
Yeah, a good mentor is really hard to come by.
Yeah.
So anytime I find a good one, you got to hold on to them tight.
I feel like how much we love Breeland, I want you to be my mentor.
Oh my gosh, we're buddies.
So you don't even got to do that.
Final question.
We're getting raffed.
We're getting raffed.
I know you've got to go and you're really busy.
Yes.
And I'm going to see you next summer at Geotas Park.
Indeed.
Christmas time.
What's the first Christmas song that gets stuck in your head?
What popped in your head when I say Christmas songs?
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
Just like the ones we use.
to know. Beautiful. Thank you, Breeland. Indeed. Appreciate it. Yay.

What's up, y'all?
Morgan here with Matt Stell.
How are you?
I'm doing great.
How are you?
I'm good.
You are one of Bobby's good friends
and also fellow Arkansas.
I believe that's how you say that.
That's exactly how you said it.
And you just told me that you guys are in a big league
and there's bets going down and Bobby's not doing too hot.
Yeah, we're in this thing that my buddy kind of came up with
that I'm trying to spread the gospel of it.
It's called Skins League.
You pick these teams at the beginning of the year.
them all year. If they win, you win money. If they don't, whatever, you don't make money.
And right now, Bobby, Bobby's team is not making a lot of money at the moment.
Okay. When you say, listen, break it down for me, like, I don't know any sports at all, Matt.
Okay.
He's not making a lot of money, meaning like he's not making $500 or he's not making $500?
He's not making several $500. Or a few $500. Yeah, I guess I'm spilling a little tea, but he'll be fine.
Yeah. Okay. So are you?
you doing really well right now?
I actually am doing
the best I've ever done in one of these leagues.
I feel a little guilty because it was my idea
to start the league.
And so it's like me, Bobby,
my buddy Scott Chandler played football
forever for the bills.
My buddy Pat Maroon plays for the Lightning.
Some guys from Ring of Podcast,
my manager, and
like my buddy and I
own this team together and we're just
beating everyone really badly.
And it was the first year,
but anyone's done it besides us.
So it kind of looks like I set them up a little.
I didn't.
I mean, maybe I would have if I could have, but I didn't.
So I'm just worried that's going to be the fallout.
It's going to be like, you know, you hood winked us, but we'll see.
You did.
It kind of sounds like you did a little bit.
Hey, I'm telling you, if I could have, I would have, but I just, there was no way to do it.
We just ended up being really lucky with who's winning football games.
Well, Matt, if I remember correctly in some of these interviews,
I have heard that you are pretty intelligent.
And if that's the case, then you totally are hoodwink it a little bit.
No, it depends on who you ask.
Bobby's a smart guy.
He, don't let him fool you.
That's one of the smarter guys you're ever going to meet.
So it feels good to put a little of his money in your pocket, you know.
Yes.
Hey, it probably does feel good.
And what are some of those?
You know, you're talking about this is one of your hobbies,
betting and sports.
What other hobbies you got outside of music?
Love to play golf when we're off when we're not touring.
I haven't got to play in about a month or so, but I love to do that.
I still love to hoop, you know, go over to Bobby some and play basketball and play knockout
and stuff like that and getting a pickup game here and there is always fun.
I get in the Deer Woods.
I'm going to head after CMAs just that next morning.
I'm going to head down to Mississippi and go hunt.
So just those kind of things.
It's pretty like basic bro stuff, but I like it, you know.
Yeah, you know, hey, you got the basic dude stuff going on, but it's not a bad thing.
thing, Matt? No, yeah. I feel like that that's fine. I just like what I like, you know.
You also got a mustache going on right now. Is that Top Gun inspired?
You know, yeah, it's inspired. I thought that, yeah, I could just fly a plane if I grew it.
Yeah. Do you think you're going to go fly some planes? Is that going to be a new hobby?
Yeah, I'm going to go fight terrorism in an F-16, probably because of this mustache.
All right, I see that. Yeah, yeah. You won't be up there.
That wouldn't be that basic then, Matt.
That's very true. That's very true.
It's very true. It's like magical powers, you know?
Exactly. You were talking about Bobby and playing basketball while.
He's talking about going to this adult basketball camp.
And if he goes, he's thinking he needs to take some lessons beforehand.
Do you think he should take lessons?
I mean, Bobby's got a nice little, you got a nice smooth, you know, jump shot.
I mean, I'm sure he could benefit.
Who couldn't benefit from a little guided instruction?
But he'd be all right.
Bobby can play a little bit.
Okay.
All right.
We got the lessons covered.
Now I have some quick rapid fire questions for you.
Awesome.
sing to me the Christmas song that's in your head right now.
Parumpa pump pump.
And I don't know why that's in my head, but it just always is.
What an odd song.
Always?
Just all year?
Yeah, like the little drummer boy.
I don't even know the words.
I was going to say, I just know that my gifts for.
Pop-b-b-bub-b-b-b-b-b-b.
Yeah.
You got like the little beat in there.
Yeah, it's like, how is that a Christmas song?
Like, I don't know.
It is.
It's a really famous Christmas song.
We should, we should Google the word.
and maybe it talks about Christmas and the words.
I just know the Ruppapult.
I just know it's a little drummer boy.
That's all I know.
Yeah.
But that's also the title, so that's not very helpful.
Last meal on earth, what are you having?
Oh, I'm going to have my, what am I going to have?
I'm going to have something just rolled in flour and thrown in hot grease.
You name the, like, maybe a chicken or maybe a catfish or maybe, you know, like a deer that I shot or something.
Are you just going to throw a whole deer in the friar?
That last meal, we might get a little out.
there.
Okay.
You know?
I never seen one of those big fires, but hey, I believe you.
Yeah, yeah.
Or maybe like a crawfish bowl or something like that, you know, something, something that
feels like home.
Okay.
Make sure you feel all the good comfort foods before you die.
Right, before I go ride the lightning or whatever it is.
Yeah, you're going to light.
And what's the coolest phone number you have in your phone right now?
Bobby's probably.
Yeah, that's a pretty cool one.
Everybody knows Bobby Bones.
So I've got him.
Robert Bones.
I have it saved in my phone as.
Robert Bones.
Not Bobby Bones, but Robert Bones.
Exactly. You know that's not his real name, though, right?
Yes, I do, but I enjoy it a lot.
All right. Matt, it's so good to see you. Thanks for now.
Absolutely.
Don't miss the 56 annual CMAs live on ABC.
Tonight.
At 87 Central.
What's up, big slick?
Hey, man, Jordan Davis.
LaCost shoes?
Come on, man.
I have no idea where I got these.
Hey.
You know where actually I got them?
Probably Norseum Rack.
Northsome Rack, baby.
Yeah, I don't know anything.
Can't hide money over here, you know what I'm saying?
Hey, yeah, you know what I'm saying?
I'm big balder, you know what I mean?
and I got the Psycho Bunny.
I love it.
Yeah.
Let's talk about expensive.
How much of your shoes?
I don't know.
Those are some nice boots.
They are nice boots.
Exactly.
I mean, listen, I don't know anything.
Lacost is a nice brand in it.
I think so.
I never, I have never purchased.
I feel like it was.
I remember like in high school.
Like, I always thought their shirts were like really sharp.
Oh, yeah.
And you know what was sharp was Jerbo.
Oh, dude.
I don't know how old you are, but Joe was.
Yeah.
And then it went into like polos and LaCost.
We were like, if you wore that, you were.
Yeah.
You probably had a little bit of scratch.
Yeah.
Let me say again, I never had Jerbos.
And so the kid across the street from me, he had some.
So for the seventh grade dance, he let me borrow some of his shirt and shirt and short.
What a homie, man.
Yeah, so Ryan Cheney, shout out if you're listening.
Dude, Ryan, you're a good dude, man.
Yeah, Ryan, Rocket Chocolate.
If you want to go buy Rocket Chocolate, he's the one that invented that.
Wow.
Yeah, it's like a, I don't know, it's a terrible chocolate.
I should edit that out.
Great plug.
There you go.
But it's like, it's like all natural,
Like it's like good.
It's like you can get in whole foods.
Oh yeah.
Oh,
we need like the sugar infused chocolate.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's what I mean.
Like he, yes.
Oh man.
I'm sorry, Ryan.
I love your chocolate.
And good luck at business school.
He's getting his MBA at the University of Texas right now.
So yeah.
But anyway, how are you, man?
I'm great.
Did I say,
I'm with Jordan Davis.
I say that already?
Yeah.
I did say that.
Yeah, it's great.
Great week.
Love being here for the whole week.
No, shut up.
You know, it's boring.
I do.
No, no, no.
Like, I love being at home.
That's what I'm saying.
I get to sleep in my bed, man.
It's awesome.
Now, when you're at home, do you sleep into like 11 or do you...
I wish.
I got two kids.
I know.
You know the game.
I know, but I didn't...
Okay, daylight savings.
How bad was it for your kids?
So I was actually gone.
I was on the road.
My wife had to deal with that.
My kids, 5 a.m.
Oh, that's brutal.
Because it's usually 6.
They get up at 6.
My kids get up at 7, so that's like...
Okay.
And while my 2-year-old all of a sudden is now getting up earlier and earlier.
Yikes.
And it was 5 a.
Dada, I'm awake.
And I'm like, God, and what's crazy is he's still in a crib, but now I guess he can climb out because I have a hell idea.
We found out.
We found out of daylight savings.
I woke up with him next to my face going, Dad-da, I'm away.
Let's go.
Oh, my gosh.
That's awesome.
It's cool.
So what is it that?
What's the hardest part about being a dad?
The hardest part?
Yes.
Because everybody hears about the good stuff.
Like, oh, it's so fun, but what is the hardest part?
Can I be honest?
You know what?
I don't like.
bath time.
Battime.
I know people
they're like,
oh, dude,
I love bat time,
man,
they play,
it's great.
Bat time is a disaster
for me.
I actually give my wife
bat time all the time.
Explain.
That sounded weird.
I get my wife bat time.
She does bat time.
I just like,
I don't know,
like,
I'm always uncomfortable.
I'm sitting on the floor.
It's uncomfortable.
Oh,
it's so bad because you have to kneel down.
Yeah.
This is really old.
I bought a little pat
that I kneel on,
but still,
bending over the bathtub, they're splashing water all over the floor, you get drenched.
They're playing with the dumbest toys that they just think is awesome.
I'm like, what are you doing?
And then they think it's funny to drink the water, and I'm disgusted by it.
And I'm like, would you please stop that?
And when you tell them to stop to do something, what do they do it more?
They do it more.
And they laugh in your face.
Yes.
And then they pour water on your head, and it's like, okay, bat time is terrible because then you have a puddle of water all over the ground.
And then, all right, let's sign to get out.
No, dad.
I'm swimming.
Oh, my gosh.
Yeah, the water's cold.
Like, you're like, how are you in there?
This water's terrible.
And why are you taking a bath for 20 minutes?
Get out of the tub.
Jeez.
It's so difficult.
It's like getting dressed in the morning.
It's really difficult, right?
And so when you get dressed in the morning, when you're putting your clothes on, do you do sock, sock, shoe, shoe, or do you go sock shoe, sock shoe?
Sox, sock, shoe, shoe.
Yeah, sock, sock, shoe, shoe.
Oh, man, why?
Do you do that?
You do a sock and so you're, for a split second of your day, you're walking on one shoe on.
No, no, not even a split second because I'm sitting there.
I don't really walk.
I'm sitting there with one shoe on.
I don't know.
I just think, yeah.
I mean, I guess both techniques get it done.
Yes.
They accomplish the end gold.
Do you have a reason why you do it, or is it just a thing you just started doing it?
I think I just started doing it.
I can tell you this.
I've never really thought that much about it until right now in lunchbox.
Right.
It's something that you do that you don't think about.
Yeah.
It's wild.
Like when you take a shower.
Yeah.
Do you start with washing your hair or do you do your body with soap, then
face then hair.
Top down.
Top down.
Okay.
Do you not do that?
No, I do soap, face, hair.
My wife thinks that's weird because she's like, you're just taking all the dirtiness
from your hair and it's going all over your body and you've already washed your body.
Just two guys talking about how they bathe their bodies.
And how we bathe our kids.
And I mean, we're going to go really weird.
Let's just talk about dying.
Okay.
Yeah, let's talk about dying.
Why not, dude?
Yeah, you're about to die, right?
Jordan Davis is about to die.
What are you guys?
going to have for your last meal?
Fried fish, white onion, cheddar cheese, coleslaw.
That sounds like a pretty good meal.
What about you?
I'm doing fajitas and chips and salsa and queso and then I want some...
No guac.
Well, I want guacamole too.
I forgot about...
Did I not say guac?
No.
I want guac.
And then I want some...
You want a trio.
And then I want some et tufei.
Whoa, bro.
Like I love like New Orleans.
like I love the gumbo.
I mean, no, I do too.
I just did not expect you to go fajitas, guas.
Well, that's what I'm saying.
I'm so torn because I love them both.
And so if I'm going to be dying, I want to have all of them.
Yeah, okay.
Well, I didn't know that was the parameters.
I would have chosen a definitely a different meal.
I thought we were just like a...
No, no, I was saying anything you want, like your favorite meal if you're about to die.
Okay.
I mean, I still do fried fish.
I probably would have left off the onion.
Fried fish, gumbo.
I'm a big gumbo fan.
There you go.
Jimmy John sandwiches, big Jimmy John.
sandwiches big jimmy john okay i'm more jersey mics more like a buff you know like a buffet style
you know before i check out yeah and before you check out before you leave here because they're giving
us a wrap-up and you got to go in your cell phone who is the coolest celebrity you have
paid manning dang how'd you get peymanning we're buddies dude no we went a hunt together
how does that come together though i think he was a fan about dirt really and he hit you up on dms or
No.
Because I mean, is it if Peyton Manning slid into your DMs, you'd be like, that ain't really
Peyton.
I don't even think he has social media.
Oh.
He threw the label.
That's legit.
Yeah.
And I went to the Manning Passing Academy.
So it's like a long, you know, Louisiana, Saints fan, Archie Manning fan.
So I went to the Manning pasting academy as a kid.
He found out about that.
So like if you wanted to right now, you could face down Peyton Manning?
I mean, he's probably busy, but I have the, yes.
You have the option.
I have the option to do it.
That's pretty freaking cool.
Yeah, yeah.
And with Christmas Rider.
around the corner.
Yeah.
Okay.
Christmas.
Yeah.
First Christmas song that pops in your head.
Let me hear it.
I'll have a blue Christmas without you.
Elvis.
Blue Christmas.
And we're going to have a blue day without you because you got to go and I got to stay here
and interview more people.
So Jordan Davis, thank you for stopping by.
Appreciate it.
Thank you.
Remember, guys, he has sock, sock, shoe, shoe.
He's a weirdo.
Top down in the shower.
Top down the shower.

I'm here right now with Jason Aldeen at the pre-C-M-A Awards interviews.
Jason, how are you?
I'm good, I'm good.
How are you?
It's good to see you out in the wild,
but I say that you are always out in the wild.
Chuckie cheese.
We heard Bobby saw you shopping at the mall.
Yeah, saw Bobby yesterday, actually.
We were actually eating lunch.
and then my wife was Christmas shopping, so we went around, and then Bobby and I ended up in the same store.
Bobby was getting ready for CMAs.
I think he was buying some shoes, pretty fly shoes I saw.
So, yeah, but yeah, we're out and about some for sure.
You are always out and about.
Why is it so important for you to make sure you continue to have, I guess, the best way to say it,
a normal life outside of being a mega superstar?
Well, I mean, to me, I don't know.
I mean, I just feel like I never want to get too far.
far removed from like being able to do whatever I want to do you know and and ultimately like when we go
out and you're going to have people that come up and do all those things um and there there's two ways
to look at it you look at it like it's you know they're bothering you or you look at it like man this is
this is why I'm here is I love that people care you know what I mean and and so um it's fun you know
we we love to go out and go to movies or go to the mall go to dinner all those chucky
cheese whatever it is you know and um it's just uh we yeah yeah
We just kind of always been like that.
We just, if we want to go do something, we just went to Disney World, you know, did that whole deal.
So it doesn't get much crazier than Disney World.
If we can handle that, we can handle anything.
That's true.
Now, is there any situation where you hope a fan doesn't come up to you?
Because there is always the chance that you're like, okay, I really just don't want it to happen right now.
Usually, like, eating.
That's really my main thing is like if you're sitting down eating, you got a mouth full of food and somebody comes up to talk and you're like, hold on, let me chew this.
And, you know, that gets kind of weird to me sometimes.
I'm always like just, you know, as long as they wait until we're done and we're getting up or whatever and come over, that's completely fine.
But that's really my main one, I think, for me is eating or filming me why I'm eating because I'm like, okay, well, that's going to be an awesome picture that's going to end up on Instagram later.
And it's going to be on TikTok.
Here's Jason Aldine eating.
Yeah.
Yes.
Okay.
Spaghetti.
It's like hanging out, you know.
Yeah.
All right.
No eating.
Got that.
Now, I also want to know you're nominated again.
Like you're just so big that all of the.
these things at some point have to get where you're like okay cool I'm nominated when is it going to be
like oh wow this is so exciting what's something that could happen for you now that you'd be like
this is really exciting because it's almost never happened before um I don't know I mean to be honest
I mean CMAs my whole career I've won two awards here ever and they were in the same year I think in
2011 so it you know I haven't won a lot here we've been nominated quite a few times and so you know
these are still exciting for me.
CMA's are and Grammy is one that I've been nominated a few times and never won a Grammy.
So I'm like, that would be pretty neat.
So there's still some things like that that, you know, we've almost gotten there, but not really.
America Music Awards is another one.
I've never won one of those before.
So there's still things like that.
And, you know, it's still exciting for me.
All this stuff is.
So the winning is definitely could be the next fun part of it.
Yeah, I mean, that's always fun.
Yeah.
You know, the perennial nominee, it's cool to actually win.
in sometimes too. And we have over the years. I mean, we just won a couple of CMTs and ACMs and those
kind of things. I mean, we've won a lot. But, you know, some of them are just a little bit more elusive
for whatever reason. And, you know, so you kind of get your hopes up and, you know, it's still
fun for me. I love this stuff. Yeah, that's awesome. And what about doing any acting? Do you
foresee yourself going and doing some TV shows or movies anytime soon? Well, you know, I did do a movie.
You probably didn't see it because, let's face it, nobody else did.
So, but I don't know.
You know, I never say never.
The movie thing was, it was cool.
It was cool to say I did it.
I learned pretty quick that I'm a musician and that's what I really enjoy doing.
You know, I think TV might be fun just because it's not as time consuming.
You can kind of go in, knock a episode or something out.
You know, the movie was a little more time consuming.
It was, you were on, you know, you were having to be out there for a while for that.
But so I don't know.
You know, I never say never.
I'm always open to anything as long as I feel like it's cool and something that I'm into and want to do.
No plans at the moment to do anything like that.
But we have had things that have come in that were kind of interesting before.
And, you know, it's always stuff that I kind of look at and kind of play it out when I get it.
Yeah, I love that.
Well, I have some quick rapid fire questions for you.
You did just release your first ever Christmas song.
So I want to know what is the, if I say, sing the Christmas.
song that comes to your head right now, what are you singing?
All I want for Christmas is you.
I think the Mariah Carey thing, I think that's everybody's Christmas song.
I don't know who is in charge of making that, like the new go-to Christmas jam for like
the last 15 years, but I feel like every commercial, everything has that on there.
So when I think of Christmas songs, that's the first one that pops up my head.
You're right.
It was in my head.
Didn't you just say it?
Now it's going to stay in my head.
If you can only have one meal, it's going to be your last meal,
earth what's it going to be oh uh probably like a like a steak and potatoes and macaroni and
i want some bad stuff too like macaroni like good southern cooking you know my mom's a great
southern cook so probably just have her come and cook for me yeah that sounds great okay and what's the
coolest phone number you have in your phone right now hmm probably donald trump
well a former president that is a pretty big one yeah so that's a
It's kind of hard to top that one.
Yeah, that's pretty big.
All right.
Well, Jason, thank you so much for joining me.
It's great to see you.
Thank you so much.
Broadcasting from the 56th annual CMA Awards.
It's the Bobby Bonds show.
All right, it's Lunchbox.
I'm here with Dirk's Bill.
Yeah, how you doing?
Man, I'm doing great.
Are you recovering from that celebrity encounter you had on the cruise ship?
Yes, it is.
It's really a tough life, you know.
People recognize the A-plus celebrities out there, yeah.
I can relate to that feeling.
Do you ever get tired of being a celebrity?
Well, I'm an A-plus-plus.
You're going to get through one day.
You're still just a plus.
I'm working my way up.
Yeah, you get the plus plus status.
It's like a verified kind of thing.
You're not quite there with the verification.
But I did get verified on Instagram.
Oh, very good.
Elon's selling those now, right?
Well, no, he's all doing Twitter.
Yeah, I know you bought yours anyway.
But that's good for you.
You weren't pre-buying them, but that's okay.
No, I know it's like to recognize this stuff sometimes.
Anyway, how you've been?
Congratulations hosting the show now?
Thank you.
Yeah, it's been good.
I've been taking over for Bobby lately because he's just so busy.
Yeah, busy slash.
kind of not really.
Yeah, yeah.
He needed a relaxation time.
He said, hey, lunch, go interview Dirk.
So I mean, you're a pretty big celebrity.
You're like the really pitcher coming in, kind of taking, he's kind of dropping the ball a little bit.
I agree.
But you're a pretty normal dude for, like, being such a big star.
So I need to know something.
When you get dressed in the morning, okay, and you sit down.
This leg first and then that one, yeah.
Okay, you go left leg first and the jeans and the right leg.
Yeah, yeah.
But then when you're putting your shoes and socks on, do you go sock shoe, sock, shoe, or do you
go sock sock shoe shoe that's so interesting it's going to be a sock sock sock shoe for me yeah it's
a sock sock shoe what do you do i do sock shoe really sock shoe because i believe that i'm already
on that foot why am i going to waste time going over to the other foot right coming back to the other foot
that's interesting you know i i i've been no sock no sock no shoe no shoe for a long time i take
my kids to school barefoot and i walk him into the school barefoot because i'm on this big
barefoot kind of like health kick thing and all the kids they go can your dad not afford shoes
he's like they try to explain to him no he's doing like there's no barefoot kind of walking
thing right now it goes along with the biking can you explain to me the no what is the health
benefit of no shoes well just the thing that you had gloves on your hands the whole time and you're
like trying to you get no sensory feeling because you're just wearing mits or your fingers aren't
speaking to your brain because they're just in this big like pad did you learn this in like a yoga
class you know i'm always reading this kind of thing by your feet your feet have just as many sensors
as your hands yet they're just as many sensors as your hands yet they're
They spend their whole day in this glove.
So you're not getting any sensations.
You know, no messages are being sent to your brain for your feet.
We should all be barefoot all the time.
It's not a good look.
But it hurts.
So you're dropping your kids off in middle school and they're like,
your dad's the dad that wears cut off shorts and jeans and no shoes.
I thought he was like a, didn't he,
isn't he successful?
Apparently not.
It's funny, though, that you say that about your feet because I wouldn't got a massage for the first time.
Yeah.
Maybe I've had them two or three now.
Yeah.
And they were like, oh, do you want me to rub your foot?
And I was like, no, I mean, go ahead.
Code, rub your foot.
The code, yeah, yeah, I know.
And I did not realize how many, like, how tension filled my foot was because they're rubbing those knots out.
And I'm like, oh, my God.
A lot of tension and rubbing, yeah.
So, yeah, it's amazing.
You're a barefoot more often.
It's definitely what to go.
So why are you wearing shoes here?
Because it's not socially acceptable, you know what I mean?
But why do you care about what's socially acceptable?
Why don't you just do you, Dirk's?
Well, I want to.
Because that's what you do in life.
You live life like Dirk's likes to live life.
So why would you wear shoes here?
risk of not being able to get back here and have an interview with Bobby Bones slash you.
It was just too great that I had to conform.
I know, I'm a sellout.
I'm sorry.
That's really funny.
It's disappointing.
But doesn't, don't your feet hurt when you're like walking?
You hit gravel?
Yeah, you got to toughen them up.
Because I mean, as a kid, I used to run around with no shoes.
You have your summer feet.
Yes.
And then you go back to being a wimp.
Right.
You got to just make the choice of, you know, get a mile on every day without your
shoes on.
I want you to start doing it.
You're still riding that bike?
Yes.
Now add those no shoes to it and you'll be, you'll get that, you'll get that.
extra plus on your A plus. You'll get there.
Now, three rapid fire questions before we go.
Okay.
Dirk's Bentley, you've had a good time on this earth.
Yes.
And you're about to pass away.
Yes.
And you know you're about to pass away.
Yeah. Hospice is all around you.
What's your last meal?
Hopefully it's just like skiing off something.
Okay. Oh, you're about to ski off the end?
My last meal is going to be, it's definitely a bean burrito.
Probably from West Coast Taco over there by the airport.
It's amazing.
They make an Arizona-style burrito.
Just beans and cheese and guacamcabola and the side and some hot sauce.
Wow.
Yeah.
Okay.
And when you pull out your cell phone, when you pull out your cell phone,
you scroll through it, you see a lot of cool numbers in there.
Like, oh, that's a cool celebrity.
That's a cool celebrity.
What's the coolest celebrity that we would think, like, oh, like all genres of life.
We're not talking just country.
Well, when I found out Taylor was coming to the stadium, you know, she's playing two shows here at the stadium.
I want to make sure I got a good ticket.
So I text Taylor.
Just make sure everything was all set to go.
So you're good to go?
Yeah, I'm going.
Yeah, I can't wait.
Oh, man, because I need, like, the tickets going to sell.
You want to give you Taylor's number?
I would love that.
You want to write?
Yeah.
6.155.
555-1-1-1-2.
Give her shout.
Yeah, she'd love to hear from you.
I'm sure she's waiting.
Yeah, she knows I'm a big deal.
National's not going to be.
Lunchbox is not there.
She's going to cancel the show.
I agree with you.
Now, when you think of Christmas songs, what's the first song that popped in your head, sing it to me?
I just watched The Grinch two days ago.
So, I watched that one all the time.
I love it.
We're already doing Christmas.
All the music's up.
It's, I mean, for some reason, it was going to be a Frank Sinatra song,
but looking at you, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer comes to mind.
So Rudolph the Red Nose Raneer had a very shiny toe.
And if you ever saw it.
Is it toe?
Nose.
It's nose, yeah.
All right.
I'm going to get this guy.
I'm on a foot thing.
I'm on a foot thing right now.
You're not getting her toes rubbed a lot.
This guy, he needs some shoes.
He needs some help.
And I feel bad for his kids.
All the middle schoolers making fun of him.
Dirk Bentley.
Thank you.
appreciate it.
Yeah.
Everybody out there, try the
no-shoe thing and tweet Dirks your pictures.
And try to get him that extra plus. Get him verified.
A-plus-plus celebrity. That's what we want him to be.
Up on this level. Bye.
The CMAs are live.
Tonight.
At 8-7 Central on ABC.
Lunchbox here with Chris Jansen.
I mean, he just went right into it.
I'm doing great.
We're jumping into this thing.
And I mean, I have not seen you in a long time.
And I just want to say.
Well, you look great too.
I need a haircut. I need to shave.
So do I.
That's okay.
I wanted to say thank you for the Ruth Chris Steakhouse gift card.
Oh.
Yeah, like it's very awesome.
The only problem is I haven't been able to get a babysitter to go yet.
So I mean, if you want to volunteer to babysit or get me a babysitter that way,
I can take my wife to Ruth, Chris, it would be amazing.
If you even think I'm kidding when I say drop your kids off, I'm not.
I would gladly watch your kids.
I have three of them.
You know what?
Well, with you included, it's four.
I'm kidding.
Same with me.
No, hey, look, I would do that because you were.
there for me, lest the fans
forget, he was there for me
in the very beginning on Better I Don't.
I said, I need to put
an all-star cast together for my video.
You know who showed up? Naked
Lunchbox. It was one of my second acting
roles. I mean, I was on Friday Night Lights
than that, and then I was just in a recently
in a play in Los Vegas. And then Yellowstone called
and you were like, I'm busy. No, Yellowstone
hadn't called. See, that's the problem. I was in a
musical out of Las Vegas, bad out of hell.
Got it. And I show up, and
they cut my lines. Is it Ozzy Osbourne musical?
No, it's about meatloaf. It's meatloaf's music.
Well, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, okay, that's a big story. Those are big shoes to fill.
Yeah, but I got there and they cut my lines.
Did they? Are you serious? Are you kidding?
No, I'm not joking.
Oh, my God.
I went to perform. He did a new agent.
And they cut my lines. So literally, I stood on stage and did a rock and roll like signal.
That's all?
And rode on a motorcycle. Do you wear a cape?
Nope, but I got to ride on a motorcycle back and forth across the stage a couple times, but I didn't get to say anything.
This dude looked like he's larking out there.
He just out there just wearing a cape.
and doing his deal. Have you ever larked?
No, dude, but I...
Okay, because I've seen these people in the park, larping.
I'm going to be straight honest with you.
Go ahead.
As a self-reclame what people call a redneck, I think that is...
I love ASMR videos.
I love chiropractic videos on YouTube and stuff.
Do what?
What is ASMR video?
Oh, that's the noise thing.
You know, it's a weird stuff.
Yeah, yeah.
But here's the weirdest part.
It's like, if you ever do an ASMR video, which you should somehow...
I tried.
Well, you should.
Because it would be great, because you read the comment section,
you get some real creepers in there, like, I love the wigs.
I like to watch you eat.
And it's like, oh, never mind.
I don't want to do this anymore.
Do you get creepers?
Do you go look at your comments and see creepers?
No, man, I don't read comments because, like, I just don't read comments.
I just don't read comments. I don't think, and plus I don't really care.
You know, I'm just hoping somebody says something nice because I like to be treated how I want to treat people.
But the bottom line is this.
I do, I am the guy who leaves comments sometimes.
Okay, do you use, do you leave Yelp reviews?
Like, if you go to a restaurant and will you go on there and Yelp review it for people?
Yeah, yeah.
Actually, yes.
I have done that before.
I have left some...
And do you sign Chris Jansen?
No, no, no.
I sign happy customer.
So you never leave a negative review.
No, what's the point?
What is the point?
If you didn't like it, don't go back.
Right.
I try to leave nice things.
Truly, I try to leave nice things about people because, man, it counts.
It counts.
And it might help, especially the economy we're living in.
And like the last two years have been so...
People got drug through the mud so bad.
It's like, let's try to help somebody out instead.
You know what I mean?
Like, if lunchbox, if you owned Ruth Chris...
Yes.
And I know that I love it or I didn't like it.
I would be like, you know what, let's give another shot.
Let's just cook that steak a little bit.
Let's get a playpin.
Right, but you also got to think about this.
I'm going to tell you, I'm going to give you a tip about leaving a negative review.
Can't wait.
You're a negative review guy.
And then they contact you and they invite you to come back on their dime.
That way you get another meal for free.
Like, have you ever, like back in your younger days, let's just say younger days.
Oh, thanks.
Did you?
No, I'm saying, I'm saying I use.
to.
I would eat food and then take a hair and stick it in there.
Oh, you would?
Like a birthday candle.
And be like, oh, there was a hair in my food.
Like, especially like in high school cafeteria, you know what I mean?
I'd eat.
I'm going to stop here right there.
I don't know what you mean.
Oh.
I don't.
I've never been one to falsify my food.
Yeah, me neither.
Especially when it's.
How dare you people?
Yeah, man.
I'm not a scam artist.
Liz, Liz.
AMS, ASMR, loving, falsified pizza loving guy.
But yes, that's, I mean...
You legitimately crack me up.
I mean, the things you say are funny.
They're funny.
Well, thank you.
You're welcome.
I'm just telling you that that's how I...
Because, like, in high school, I'd like, man, I'm still hungry and I want more food.
So I would eat three-fourths of it and then stick a hair in it.
Oh, they'd give me a new enchilada.
They will give you a new enchilada anyway.
All you got to be is like, hey, could I have an enchilada?
Yeah.
I mean, your name is lunchbox, man.
They will give you an enchilada.
Do you ever feel the pressure, being a...
celebrity when we go to eat right yes no no and you have a waiter or waitress do you feel the
pressure to tip extra because you're chris jansen let me tell you something straight up if you
ain't tipping good for good service you ain't a good person that's like honest truth this woman right
here kelly jansen tips better than anybody i ever seen and she let me tell you something man this
on a serious note this is a single mom right here before me so like she remembers a time i
I remember a time when it was kids meals only and we were just proud to be there.
So we tip as good as we can wherever we can.
And I'll tell you what, I like to see, I don't care what job you're in, whether it be food service, whether it be music business, whether it be anything.
I like to see people working hard and earn it.
I had to earn it.
I had to work hard to get to where I'm at.
You've got to give back because, man, blessing people by blessing others in a serious note is the biggest blessing of all time, period.
I understand, Christianson, but I have a question.
I have a question for you.
Let's hear to the serious notes.
No, no, no, I have a question, though, about tipping.
I want to ask you two questions about tippening.
I'm listening.
I'm listening.
Yes, tippening.
Tippening.
Tipping.
Tipping.
Do you automatically get 20%?
Can they ever get below that if they do a bad job?
Absolutely not.
Really?
No.
So you think you should, even if they're doing a bad job, if they're rude, they're, you know, very, like on their phone.
And you think it's okay.
You still give them 20% at least.
Have you legitimately seen somebody on their phone?
Yes.
Are you serious?
Yes.
Like the other day, I went to get to go food, right?
and I go order and I'm like I want a place in order to go and like girls like okay it'll be about 10 to 15 minutes I'm like cool I go sit down I'm just sitting there drinking a cup of water she goes next door gets a smoothie comes back for real yes for real and I'm like that's unbelievable that's to go food but that's not my waiter it was to go food now do you tip on to go food absolutely oh my gosh Chris Jansen
I do I look do you go to McDonald's and tip when you go through the drive-thru I mean I do round up you know what I love like you are going to go broke
No. Well, I mean, whatever. At least I went broke helping somebody. Hey, listen, it will be the first time.
So, it ain't no big deal. Let me tell you something that I don't like. I don't carry a lot of cash often. So, like, I used to go to Sonic to get a hot dog and some cheddar peppers or whatever.
So I pull in there and just say, for instance, I'm like, crap, I don't have any cash. Then you look like that guy.
So I'm so glad they got this feature now where you can, like, add a tip if you want to. So I'm like adding the tip.
And let me tell you something, man. When you're getting Uber Eats late at night and I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm.
I just got home from the road, and we just got home, and we're freaking starving.
No, you better tip your delivery driver because I used to be a delivery driver.
I do.
And all those stupid pharmaceutical reps that I would carry all the food across the hospital,
and you wouldn't tip me?
I hate you.
Just so you know, because it's not even your money, and you wouldn't tip me.
Check it out.
I get that stuff all the time because we get home late.
So 2 o'clock in the morning or whatever, I find the latest thing I can get.
They'll bring it in there.
I tip good for that because.
Now, that I understand.
But if I go through the drive-thru, I, I,
I don't tip.
If I go to Starbucks and get a hot chocolate and they want a tip, for what?
You just poured me a drink.
I'm not giving you a tip.
He's like Dwight Shrewd.
Tipping has gotten out of control.
Okay, I don't disagree on certain levels, but I will say this.
Let's just say this.
Most of it of what you're talking about in reference to like drive-thru would be like rounding up at the register.
Okay.
So let me tell you this.
You see this hat?
Yeah.
Okay.
Conservation.
We give back proceeds to this.
to clean up the rivers and streams.
Now, this is off the base of what we're talking about.
But let me say.
I understand.
That with VASPro, last year, for instance,
we did a roundup at the register for folds of honor,
for America's heroes, for veterans who need homes, who need to help their families.
If it weren't for people going, sure, I'll round up 10 cents,
or I'll round up $0.32 in pennies.
It wouldn't have raised over $300,000 at the end of the week.
So I think that there's more, I always take it so serious.
I think there's more into play here.
I think that if we look at it like that,
if we look at maybe that dollar is helping somebody
or it actually is going to fill somebody's gas tank,
which is virtually impossible now for the normal person, right?
Yeah.
I mean, maybe you're helping somebody.
So I always just look at it in the good way
because I will tell you this man, in all transparency,
the more you give, you don't do it for this reason,
but the more you give, the more you get back.
I don't know if I believe that because I've been playing the $1.9 billion dollar lottery
and I did not win.
Yeah, well, I never won the lottery either, but I don't gamble.
See, I'm not an addict.
Well, I'm not an addict either.
I mean, sort of I am.
I'm, sort of I am.
You're an addict to fun and prosperity and life, and that's why I love you.
And I'll tell you that I learned a lot about, I'm going to shout it out, because we're on the Bobby Bones show here.
I'm going to shout out to Bobby because, and the fans will appreciate this.
You will too.
Everybody here will.
I learned about the-old.
Well, there's only like five people here, but listen to the podcast.
I learned about pimping joy and giving back in a large way through.
Bobby Bones. Had he not given to me, had he not given from his heart, played my song, I would not be in a
place where I can tip. I would not be in a place where I could give a little extra. I would not be in a
place where it's not a big deal to just go, here, take this or here, take that. I'm proud to do it.
I want to make that clear. He's not sitting here with us, but I appreciate you, Bobby Bones. You're a good
man. You've given to a lot of people. Lunchbox is given to a lot of people, this whole crew, this whole
show. I don't think people really realize how much you guys give to people all the time.
Yeah, and people listening, you can give to us too. We take donations. We take tips. If you're
going to tip your person in the drive-through, you can send us tips. Like, we entertain you every morning.
I never, listen, I never seen a, I never seen a show give back to St. Jude like you do.
You guys give more to St. Jude, and you make it so clearly evident of what the mission is.
It's important, brother. It's important. And that, hey, you know what?
that all rolls into tipping, taking care of each other.
And you know what they always say?
You can't take it with you, right?
You can't take it with you.
So you're about to die, right?
And I would give it to you.
No, no, I'm not talking about your money.
I would.
What would be your last meal?
My last meal.
If I could really pick?
If you could really pick your last meal, like you knew the clock.
There's a clock above your bed that says you got an hour until you're going to die.
What is your last meal?
64 day dry-aged tomahawk ribye.
Oh my God.
That sounds good.
Bad and boozy.
Now, you're about to die, right?
I hope not.
You had your big steak.
Yeah, yeah.
You're going through your cell phone.
Yeah.
The coolest celebrity in your cell phone that you're going to call.
I wouldn't call a celebrity.
No, no, but who's the coolest celebrity you have in your phone?
Luke Brian, nicest guy, I think I know.
I got a lot of cool.
Well, you're on a different level.
Okay, got it.
Which is like above celebrity.
Got it.
Thank you.
I'm glad you acknowledged that because the people in the studio say I'm not a celebrity.
I'm like, guys, we're celebrities.
Listen, people know you by your student in Lunchbox.
I say it's pretty celebrity to me.
Boom!
Mark the tape.
Here's the deal.
I got a lot of celebrity friends.
I will say Luke Bryan has done a lot for people too.
He's a great guy.
I tell you one person who I know has been on y'all's show too, who is an unbelievable human
and probably one of my closest friends in this business, Kid Rock.
Oh.
Bob Ritchie, one of the greatest Americans.
ever met in my life. I love it. Hands down. And you know who else is a wonderful human? Chris Kringle
with Christmas? Okay. So when you think about Christmas. Chris Christopherson? Yes. What is the first
Christmas song? Christmas song that pops in your head. Oh, rocking around the Christmas tree
in the Christmas home. I also like a oh some some some some no I also like Chuck Barry man. Who doesn't like who doesn't like that? Chuck Barry Christmas is like Christmas.
this to me. Chris Jansen,
thank you so much. A tip for everyone out
there. Don't give your money away like Jansen.
A little bit maybe, but not all of it.
Or send it to me. Thank you, Chris Jansen.
I love you, lunch, gosh. I love the Bobby Bones show to.

Lunchbox here with the one and only Mr. Zach Brown.
Yes, sir.
My question for you,
Does it ever get old to walk out to a full arena or stadium, like with all those people screaming and yelling?
Never.
Never.
And I always, because when I'm at home, I'm everybody's.
Like, I'm a dad five times.
Right.
You know what I mean?
So I'm driving everyone, moving everybody, doing everything they're doing.
So I go from at home just like being at everybody's service and then we come out.
And every time that I go out on stage, I'm like, this is what we do.
I never get used to it.
I never take it for granted, especially after a pandemic world where everything was snatched away.
And then all of a sudden, you can't stand next to someone, you can't perform, you can't go anywhere.
Especially now, since everybody's back together again and seeing the America that I know,
rather than what they portrayed America as on the news for two years, with it's incredible.
Like every single night that I go out, I'm like, I can't believe this is our job.
Because you're super famous.
I mean, you're huge, right?
So you going places has to be hard for, like, when you go places, Zach, Zach, can't get a picture?
Zach, Zach, can, oh, Zach, can you call my mom and tell her you love her?
Like, do you ever wish you could go back to when you were just like at the dirty bird cafe?
And it was just like you and your French jamming?
You know, if I just have a baseball cap on, I can just sneak right under the radar, man.
Even with your beard?
Yeah, I pretty much.
I can just about go anywhere, especially where I live, you know.
I'm not ever really bothered.
It's when you go to like New York and L.A.
around stuff like that where there's paparazzi and stuff like that.
If there's anybody or playing a late night show,
that's when they'll camp out and they try to get you to sign
nine guitar, you know, pick your guitar, pick guards so they can go sell everything.
But, no, it's really not that bad, man.
People are usually pretty cool.
Does it bother you?
Like, how do you handle the people that you know are going to go sell your autograph?
Is it, do you still sign?
I'll sign it for kids.
So adults.
Unless it's somebody that's like in our fan club or somebody that I know is not out selling stuff.
Because I've signed lots of things and then see it for sale the next day on eBay or whatever.
And, you know, people are hustling and doing whatever they're doing.
But, you know, if it's for a kid, I'll sign it and talk to them and hang out.
But otherwise, you know, if there's a dude trying to get me to sign eight things, I know what's going on.
and it's a little weird
like okay like at your show
when you're gonna like
throwing something to someone in the crowd
I don't know if you threw
oh I don't mind if they're a show
and I'm walking out
I'll sign stuff for them there
no but I'm saying like when you're throwing
like your guitar throws the pick
and an adult runs over
and takes it from a kid like
what is wrong with these dang people
you know what I'm saying like do you
is that weird
that grownups like yeah I'll usually get them another one
I'll get somebody to go hand it to them
if they get intercepted
and let's get a little personal
so when you're getting dressed like
before a show
or in the morning and you're putting on your shoes and socks.
Do you go sock, sock, shoe, shoe, or sock shoe, sock shoe?
Today it was sock shoe, sock shoe.
And there's no like rhyme or reason to it.
Usually my ADD is pretty awesome.
So I'm like trying to figure out what I'm doing and where I'm going or whatever.
So it's whatever I can find kind of, you know.
I don't know.
I mean, I'm just, I'm just an ordinary dude.
Without my team and everybody, I would be.
be lost. Yeah, because everybody thinks
I'm weird because I go sock, shoe,
sock, shoe, and I say it's a
time saving thing because if you go sock,
sock, sock, shoe, you're wasting
time going from your left foot to your right foot, back to your
left foot, back to your right foot. When you can just stay
on the left foot and then move to the right foot,
you're going to save two points. Well, you should have a race
with them. Two seconds every day of your life
and just think if you're going to live, let's see,
72 years, time that seconds. I don't know
how many months do you spend of your
life putting his shoes on? Yes. And I
you might get an extra, what are you going to do with that extra week that you're
and lunchbox. Probably take a nap, chase my kids around, clean up toys, fold laundry. I don't really
fold laundries, so never mind. I don't know, because eventually we're all going to die, right?
Yeah, definitely. And before we go, we want to take advantage of everything, right? So before we die,
though, Zach, what is the last meal you would have? Man, I know this probably is pretty cliche,
but probably some really good fried chicken and cream corn greens, definitely like turnip green.
man, maybe a sweet potato, maybe some peach cobbler.
Oh, peach cobbler is so good.
Don't have the peach cobbler that's out here.
It was terrible.
Like they have it in the catering.
It was awful.
It tasted like crap.
Like I took one bite and I was, oh my gosh.
Like they obviously just poured this out of, I don't know what, but it was terrible.
So if you're walking out and you see the peach cobbler, walk right past it.
I'm learning all kinds of things.
I'm trying to save you because I want to save your taste buds.
And one more thing.
Actually, two more things.
Your cell phone, full of celebrity's phone numbers.
who's the coolest celebrity you have in that phone?
Dave Girl.
Dang.
Do you just text?
Like, hey, what's up, man?
Yeah, just because he's the greatest guy.
Like, he's everything you'd want him to be and more.
And sometimes you look behind that curtain of people that you really love their music,
and then it ends up being weird,
and then it kind of changes maybe the way you think about it a little bit.
Yeah, that's like when I...
Some people that aren't just, he's just an incredible human being
and a great guy, just super down to earth and normal.
Because a lot of times they say you don't want to meet your heroes
because they'll let you down.
Like, I met me.
Macy from Teen Mom on MTV.
And like she was amazing.
Like she was so cool just like she was on TV.
I was like, oh my gosh.
I hope she's not like really weird and it's going to be awkward.
But I waited in line at her book signing for an hour and I met her and she was so freaking
cool.
And I was like, yes.
I watched you on 16 and Preting and Teen Mom and you really are as cool as I thought.
Everybody's got their heroes, man.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right, Zach, before we go, what is the first Christmas song that gets stuck in your head?
Um, that's a good question.
Man, it's probably whatever that Mariah Carey song, the, with the slave.
Yeah, all I won for Christmas is probably the one that I hear the most.
But Seelow Green has probably my favorite Christmas record.
Let me hear a little bit of it.
Yeah, he sings River by Joni Mitchell actually on there, which is gorgeous.
Okay.
All right.
Zach Brown, thank you so much.
And hopefully, you know, you're not going to die anything to him soon, so you don't have to have that meal.
We really appreciate you.
Appreciate it.
And, hey, Dirty Bird Cafe, if you ever want to go back and do it,
play a show. I mean, I think you should surprise everybody.
Thank you, my man. Yes, sir. Thank you. Have a good one.
Don't miss the 56 annual
CMAs live on ABC
at 8-7 Central. Hey, it's
Lunchbox, and I'm here with the one and only
he doesn't need an introduction. It's Luke Combs.
What's up? Like, he can see who it...
Oh, the audio, yeah. It's Luke Combs.
True. True. What up? I got a pressing
question for you. Okay, let's hear. So,
now that you're super rich,
do you still look at price tags?
Oh, gosh. What's that? What's a price tag?
No, like for real, though, because, like, are you at that level where you're like, you can just walk, you don't have to look at price tags?
I don't know.
I would say yes, but I'm not, like, much of a shopper.
I mean, anything, like, even a car, like, if there's a cool car you want, do you just like, I can get it no matter what?
I guess I could, but I'm just, I'm not a huge, like, stuff guy, you know?
Okay.
And, like, I do have some cool cars, but they're just, like, old, like, my, a 96 Bronco.
I don't have, like, a Lamborghini or anything, you know?
Yeah.
It's like a cool car to a redneck.
Okay.
Like a car you wish you could have had when you were 16, but you couldn't afford it.
Yeah.
It wasn't like.
I can get it and you restore it.
It's really awesome.
You're just like, yeah.
It's sort of like my 05 Ultima.
You know what I mean?
Absolutely.
Same deal.
I like it.
I like it.
You know what I mean?
Hey, my Broncos got 180,000 on it.
And it's awesome.
Everybody's like, oh, you should get rid of it.
And I'm like, man, it still has one door handle.
Why would I get rid of it?
Nostalgia factor.
And so do you get tired, like, being famous?
Do you get tired of being famous?
Um, because I don't, I would tell you this, I don't, it used to bother me a lot because like,
there's no, there's no like work up to like getting used to it.
Really it just, it kind of happens like, like, at least for me it happened really fast.
I mean, I've been playing gigs forever, but all of a sudden it was like the songs were going and
it was like, I didn't know how to like process it.
And I've always tried to be super nice to everybody.
And, but the thing for me is now I just don't have time.
to like notice it anymore because I've got so much going on I've got a kid now and so it's like
I think it's it just doesn't bother me anymore because I'm just like well I'm just used to it I guess at
this point yeah because I watched like old documentaries of the bowls like the last dance and when
Michael Jordan would go places and it's just like bananas right that's the kind of fame I want
and I see you don't I promise you know and so you're getting to the level where you can't go places
so I want to know what's the worst part about being super famous
Because I always talk about the best part is the money, you get free stuff, you get in everywhere you want.
But what is the worst part?
I would say when it like inconveniences like your friends or family in a way.
So let's say, for example, let's say we were best friends and it was your birthday.
Yes.
We were going out to celebrate your birthday.
Got it.
Everything quickly turns into being about me, even though it's your night.
Right. Like if you were like, hey, I wanted you to come to my dinner and we go and then it's your
birthday. We're all there celebrating you. But then it turns into the whole night is about me being there.
Because people come up. Oh my gosh. It's Luke Holmes. And it's fine. I'm always nice to people. But
I just try to not put myself in those situations because I don't like making somebody else's special
day end up having to be about me even though I don't want it to. Yeah, because like I went to my cousin's
wedding a couple weeks ago. And I felt like I was, since I was a celebrity there, I felt like I
had to give a speech.
Sure.
You know what I mean?
And I was like, man, I'm supposed to grab the mic and give a speech because everybody here is expecting to hear from a celebrity.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Like, do you feel that pressure?
No.
Not at all.
Oh.
Yeah.
Okay.
Maybe it's just me.
But, all right.
And before we go, Luke Combs, I need to know the first, I need you to sing the first Christmas
song that pops in your head.
Oh, Christmas tree.
Oh, Christmas tree.
I don't know the rest of the words here, but I know the melody.
Right.
And it goes something like that.
Absolutely. That's a good one.
I know the title. I think it's O Christmas Street.
That's a good one. And then, Morgan, what else do you want me to ask him?
Oh, if you were going to die or you're going to go to the electric chair.
Okay.
Okay.
I like it. The last meal on earth.
Like, you know how prisoners get their last meal.
What would Luke Combs have?
Not that you're going to go to the lecture.
I would have my mom's mother's hamburgers and my dad's mother's macaroni and cheese.
What to drink?
whiskey probably if i was going to if i was going to get electrocuted probably want to be drunk at least
that's right i mean i had the option i would be really drunk probably for that i don't know if
that's on if you can do that but i would definitely do that and what who is the coolest phone number
you have in your phone oh there's a lot depends what do you like you sports guys sports let's go sports
um i can Peyton manning probably it's pretty cool that's freaking he's also he's hosting yeah he's hosting
So you can just text them on saying, hey, that sucks.
And be like, brutal.
Like, yeah, I'll just text him brutal every time.
Yeah.
Every time a joke misses, I'm just going to be like, miss.
Interception.
Intercepted.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right, Luke Collins, everybody.
Thanks for stopping by.
Appreciate it, man.
Thank you.
