As most of you know, we take a walk the majority of the time in person, but opportunities open up that we just don't want to pass up. Our guest is comedian Tom Papa, the brilliant creator of the new Netflix special, Tom Papa, What a Day, which he filmed at the iconic Wilbur Theater in Boston. His other critically acclaimed specials include Human Mule,

freaked out and Tom Papa live in New York City, two of which were directed by musician Rob Zombie. Let's welcome Tom Papa to taking a walk. Tom, how are you? Good, how are you? Excellent. Congratulations on the outstanding new Netflix special. It's awesome. You got me in some hot water with my wife, though. Well, we were watching it, and you brought up in your own lovely, style, how snoring of a spouse can be problematic and disrupt your sleep. And apparently, I laughed way too hard. All right.

Well, look, I got in trouble. Yeah. When did you first meet your wife? I met my wife, Twirk. But the funny thing was, we met in New York. She was a comedian. And we met giving him. I said, what town are you going?

Where do you go? Where do you live? She says, you don't know. Did you have Ms. Conway for kindergarten? Well, you had that slick opening line, right? Yeah, I mean, come on. When are you ever going to use that line? Who did you have in kindergarten?

Now, the fact that she is a comedian, that probably gives you a little latitude with some of the comments that you probably make around the house, doesn't it? He knows there's our real life and that there's a... So you worked on some of your past specials with one Rob Zombie. How did the meeting of that mind occur? Yeah, a lot of people are surprised at Rob Zombie and I work together, but he's a lot of, you know, whenever you go to a desk, it's money, let's enjoy a big event.

But back to Rob, I'm thinking you are a born headbanger, though, is that true? I call music, I think, but I did grow up in New Jersey. Now, being from New Jersey, does that foster the ability to be a comic just naturally, just because you're from New Jersey? Yes, it does. Everybody was making jokes about New Jersey. I was like, why? Why are we, for one, to have a good sense of humor about yourself being a comedian, for sure. Hey, it is the best pizza in the world, though, don't you think? I mean, I'm in New York right now. I think there's one, Pete and Elders. Does that sound familiar? No, I don't know that one. Do you know where it is? There's so many. There's so many. It's just unbelievable.

You've had the opportunity to work with Jerry Seinfeld. What was the first time that you ever met up with Jerry? Jerry came back to the stand-up clubs after his show was done, like in 99, 2000. When he came into... What's it like working closely with him? I mean, do you just by osmosis kind of take in his work ethic? Yeah, that's a great observation. That's exactly what happened.

I've been people ask you about that reason. I just learned he's something that you could work at and write and get better at and that's the way that's in it. It was in them and let's and do you write every day? Are you so disciplined about your comedy?

Are you writing every day? Yeah, I'm always writing something. Some days are longer than others but there's with an idea. And you have a book coming out. We're all in this together, right? Yeah, it's my third book. We're all in this together, so make some room out in June, I believe.

That's outstanding. I can't wait for that. How about some of the other folks along the way besides Jerry that have influenced you there, Tom? Oh, wow. There's so many. You know, it's funny about comedy is that these people that influence you really become your friend. People, they're just interested, and they really want Steve Martin.
