Chris Stapleton will be on later. Friday morning dance parties, obviously. Love all of that. Love all that's happening today. On the phone right now is Kelsey in Kansas.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Let's talk to her. Hey, Kelsey, good morning. Welcome to the show. Hi, good morning, studio. Morning. Morning. Hey, I was calling because I've been having a rough week. And I am a school teacher.
Starting point is 00:03:36 in Hutchinson, Kansas, and I told my principal about it, and she put the Bobby Bones show studio on the background of her video. Just was like a shout out to me and a shout out to you guys. So her background in Zoom, which you can make anything, was our studio? That's cool. Yes, it was. It was so awesome to see that because she knows how much I love the show. I'm an avid listener.
Starting point is 00:03:56 I listen to the podcast every single day, and it was super awesome. That is pretty cool. How is school going now? Are you back in? You're talking about Zoom. Are you full Zoom? Are you real life at all? No, we're back full time, but her like squad startup video every morning is a Zoom video thing that she records and sends out to us.
Starting point is 00:04:17 And how's school going this year? It kind of sucks because we have to wear masks all the time, but besides that, it's okay. I would think it would be hard to hear the teacher talking muffled. Yeah, it's like a real life version of Charlie Brown. Our kids ever like, Miss Kelsey, we can't hear you? Yeah, they are a lot. I have to like pull my mask out a little bit to talk to them, but I mean, it's okay. I have to remind kids all the time, too, to, like, make sure their mask is over their nose,
Starting point is 00:04:44 but it's okay. During, like, the NCAA basketball tournament, coaches pulled their mask down to health their players. Sometimes they just leave it down the whole game. Sometimes, yeah, just keep it on their chin. Well, listen, first of all, let me say, thanks for being a teacher. That's pretty cool. It's really great what you're doing for kids. I know that is a thankless job at times, so appreciate you doing that.
Starting point is 00:05:03 And then also shout out to your principal. like any little thing like that that helps morale. That's great. It's a tell me something good right there. Well, Kelsey, I appreciate you calling. I hear a kid in the background now. Are you in class or is that your kid? I'm at home right now.
Starting point is 00:05:18 That's my kid. Well, tell that kid we said hello. I will. He's one and a half, so he probably won't understand. But I'll tell him. Tell him. He'll know what that means. He just wants food.
Starting point is 00:05:28 It's a kid language, yeah. All right, Kelsey, see you later. I will for sure. Thank you. Bye. Hey, you said your kid got in trouble. a hockey game? Yes.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Which one? So my seven-year-old. Yeah, so we went to go see the Predators. And it's just been a thing where they've gone to a few games and they're very shy in these like, you know, crowd settings or whatever. And my son for the first time really got into the hockey game where he was yelling at players and go, Prads go. And then he would stand up on the seat.
Starting point is 00:05:56 He's little. So his kind of thing was like, well, let me get on the seat and celebrate and get up there. And then he was told a couple times to get down. and then finally the third time the lady was like dead serious like get down or we're going to be in trouble and she'd look at me and I'm just like hey talk to him not me and then I know in her eyes she's like well you're the dad you should probably talk to him he's seven and part of me was like this is cool to me because that's cool to games yelling at players and so it was pretty cool to see him do that and I was proud of him because he doesn't come out of that that shell a lot because he really doesn't and none of them do they just kind of sit there and like watch the game or whatever and it was cool to see him getting into the game. Your oldest son is pretty shy. She's so shy. And the struggle with him is I have to remind him over and over. It's like, do people don't care about what you do. He's very like worries about what is someone going to think when they see me, you know, like, is my
Starting point is 00:06:49 shirt tucked in right or whatever? And I'm like, no one cares. Like, people look at you and they may think about you for 10 seconds and then they're on with their lives. No one's going to care about you at all. But that's something that just consumes his mind. 13? 13. It should. That's what we were all liked at 13. Yeah, I know. I just feel like I have to tell him over and over. But hey, if that little camera, because he was there too, if that Jumbotron camera comes on, he'll start dancing. So I'm like, I don't get you.
Starting point is 00:07:13 He's like, that's TV, Dad, it's different. You're playing a character. Yeah, maybe. Before we get into the mailbag, I was just talking with Mike off the air. Mike, you're the one who checks this? Yeah, I check the mail. What happens in this mailbag? There's a lot.
Starting point is 00:07:27 We get a lot of advice, but we also get hate. So what's a hateful? People will find any way to hate on me. They will. They'll find, this isn't even used for that. I'm curious now when all the hate is not. What kind of hate comes in? I mean, it could just be something you said on the show and they're like, hey, I don't agree with that.
Starting point is 00:07:43 You suck. A lot of those. And I'm fine with, they don't agree with it, but why do they have to add that you suck? That's nothing to do with it. I'm pretty good at this job. It's usually you suck and I'm not going to listen anymore. But then I'll email later. Like, you kept listening.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Yeah. So there's hate. What else is there in there? There's a lot of people trying to get family members played on the radio. They'll send in like, hey, here's my cousin. This is a new. song play it yeah we're gonna do that and that's gutsy of them too like if my cousin said hey man you you know you help me out i would never like be like yeah man let me throw you on the radio like that
Starting point is 00:08:13 that's gutsy of them to think that they could stick up for their their cousin and try to get them on the radio i mean good for them but we don't go into the mailbag looking for that we don't even listen to anything the mailbag is strictly for if you need advice or help or have a question for us so there's music there's hate what else and there's also hey i'm getting married in a couple months could you get george straight to play my way So three things that we're not messing with. Yeah. And then there's advice.
Starting point is 00:08:39 Yes. That's what we look for. So if you need help and we can help you on the air, let us know. Okay. Have you seen, since we've started doing this every day, have you seen the amount of emails coming and go up? Yeah. There's a flood every day, so I go through all of them.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Morgan, if people want to email us, what do they do? Bobby bones at mailbag.com. Bobby bones. At mailbag. That's not right. Mailbag at bobbybones. That's it. I was like, we own mailbag.com?
Starting point is 00:09:06 Every time. So it's mailbag at bobbybones.com. Correct. Let's open it up for today. You send an email and we read it all the air. It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Yeah. Hello, Bobby Bones.
Starting point is 00:09:19 My fiance and I are getting married on May 22nd. She is a third grade teacher at a local elementary school. After the wedding, she will have about two weeks of school left for this year. She is insistent on keeping her maiden name for school purposes. However, she will be taking my last name in real life. I can understand her not changing her name this school year as there's only a few weeks left. It could be confusing for the young kids,
Starting point is 00:09:40 but she's wanting to keep her maiden name at school forever. Being, quote, old-fashioned and having her take my name is important to me, and I would like her to use her married name starting next school year. In my opinion, she has not given a valid reason as to why she doesn't want to use our name. Am I making a bigger deal out of this? Or do you think she should use a married name? What do you think? Thanks in advance.
Starting point is 00:10:03 Christopher. It's a solid question. That's a solid email. You didn't even hate on me in this. I like that. They didn't say you suck at the end of it? They did not. I'll start with you, Eddie. What would this be like in your life? I mean, first off, I think it's sad that the females have to lose their last name.
Starting point is 00:10:24 I do too. You know, like my wife, she has three sisters, so her father we talk about, he's like, yeah, that's rough, man. I knew as soon as I had three girls, like, my last name's done. It's no longer. going to be passed on. And so thinking about that, I just don't think it's important to have your last name and everything she does.
Starting point is 00:10:41 If she's known as Mrs. whatever, Collins, then she should be Mrs. Collins forever. That's her teacher career. It's like you, Bobby Bones. You got married and you had to change your last name. That would stink. I'm going to change to Bobby Carter because I got married. I think it's okay that she leaves it.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Lunchbikes? She is changing the name. Listen, if she's okay with taking your last name, if she wants to take your hand in marriage. She is taking it across all platforms. That's it. If she wants to hold on to it for last two weeks for sentimental reasons for this going out class, there'll be the last class that knows her as Mrs. Whatever her last name is, Cooper. And now she's Mrs. Jones next year. That's it. There's no questions asked. That's the rules. The rules? I know a lot of people who are married took their husband's name, but their stage name or working name is different.
Starting point is 00:11:30 They've kept it the same just for continuity reasons. And that seems like what they're doing here. But a teacher? Come on, she's an elementary school teacher. Listen, I'm not saying that's any less than anything else. I think if you want to keep your name, it's tough for him. It's an ego thing. First of all, I wouldn't care.
Starting point is 00:11:46 I told Kalen, she could keep her last name if we got married. She doesn't want to. But I said, hey, if you want to keep your last name, go for it. I haven't floated. Heck, we could hyphenate both of ours. That's the first time in history. You'd be hyphenated. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:11:58 Not as important to me. But she's like, no, I'm going to take your last name. I think you let her win this one, bro. I think eventually she'll want to change it anyway. But let her come to that. You don't want her to resent you. You just don't want her to resent you. I think she'll be whatever her name is for a few years and decide, you know, we have a kid.
Starting point is 00:12:16 I want the kid to have the same name as to be known as my kid. I think she'll come around to it. And if she doesn't, okay. But I think it's okay to let her live her life. And then next year, when she asked you to go help her decorate her classroom, accidentally just put your name up there accidentally yeah Mrs. Jones is now up there oh sorry honey I thought you wanted me to the board like that
Starting point is 00:12:36 boom I think she'll come around to it eventually especially if you have a kid and you're all sharing the same last name so give her some time I think it's a big deal having to lose your last name it's part of your identity being gone it's terrible so let her deal with that let her have it all right there you go that's the mailback close it up we got your email and we read it on the air
Starting point is 00:12:54 now it's about to close Bobby's mailback yeah I will say I understand point, though. Who? Lunchboxes? No. Oh, God. Like, I get it. I'm not saying he's wrong and feeling that way. I'm just trying to add some perspective to someone who's not involved in that situation. All right, thank you very much. Starting point is 00:17:20 Fun fact Friday. Okay, I'm doing Fun Fact Friday, and here's what's going to happen, is that I'm doing all music-related fun facts. You know, Amy comes in normally and does these, but I have found five music-related fun facts that I think you're going to like. Let's go with number five. Number five. Who sings Red Solo Cup?
Starting point is 00:17:40 Toby Keith. That is correct. Did you know that Red Solo Cups are popular for European people to come to America, to take home with them as souvenirs? Really? That's weird. Whenever a lot of tourists come to America Like, what can we take that really
Starting point is 00:17:54 Screams America? And what a lot of them take back is red solo Cups. That's funny. Nothing's more American than a red solo cup. That's pretty rare to them, huh? I guess so. Heck, I don't know what is or not. Is it? Here we go. Number four.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Mattel once tried to sue the band Aqua over this song, Barbie Girl. Because they own Barbie, right? Did they win? The judge said, quote, chill. Chill. It's a jam. Leave it alone.
Starting point is 00:18:25 Chill. Arrowsmith made more money and royalties off the video game guitar hero Aerosmith than they did from any of their actual albums. Wow. And in case you've been living in a cave and don't know Aerosmith, here's a clip. And that's from the movie. Armageddon. That is correct. Number two.
Starting point is 00:18:53 Biz Marquis never planned to sing on the chorus of just a friend. But none of the people he asked showed up to the studio that day. Like, I'll do it. This is it. I feel like that would happen to us. But you say he just a friend. Because he was doing the rap part, someone else supposed to sing it.
Starting point is 00:19:12 But nobody came. And this is what this song is known for. Yeah. Him just singing badly. That's screaming this out. And here we go. Your number one musical fun fact. Number one.
Starting point is 00:19:23 You guys know the song. Hey. Oh, yeah. Andre 3000 says the word, All right. In that one clip. You know, all right, all right. How many times do you think?
Starting point is 00:19:30 Okay, hold on. I got it kind of. All right, all right. All right, all right, all right, all right, all right. Now, ladies. Okay, so that's going to be eight. You're going eight, lunchbox? I think it's like 11.
Starting point is 00:19:38 You go 11. Yes. Here is, and this is just a fun fact. Here is, hey, y'all, let's count the all rights. Oh, it's in the teens. It's 14 times. Wow. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:19:56 He says, all right, 14 times. All right, all right, all right. Hey, that's fun. That's a lot of all rights. And that is Fun Fact Friday. Fun fact Friday. I know you guys are used to Amy doing it. And maybe I didn't do as good a job as she does.
Starting point is 00:20:11 But what I'm going to do is give you two guys a chance coming up next to out. Bring your fun facts too. We'll have a fun fact off. The finest of the facts? Yeah, yeah. I'm a better fun factor. We'll match them up. You do your five versus your five.
Starting point is 00:20:22 Oh, that's what I'm talking about. It's like a battle. All right, thank you guys. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan number two's 30 seconds skinny. Lots of new music out today. Walker Hayes released a new song called Make You Cry. James and Rogers released a new song called Good Dogs.
Starting point is 00:20:51 And then new albums out today, she'll stick with you for the rest of your life. Good buddies and law always come running, got you back no matter what. But good dogs don't live along you. And then new albums out today, Luke Bryan released the deluxe version of his album, Born Here, Live Here, Die Here. Here's one of the new songs called Waves. Don't let it go, baby, let this summer just keep all coming in waves, keep coming in waves.
Starting point is 00:21:28 Taylor Swift re-released her fearless album. It's called Fearless Taylor's Version. And it features a collaboration with Keith Urban called That's When. That's when, when I wake up in the morning, that's when, when it's sunny, you're storming laughing. When I'm crying. Yeah. And I see your face. I'll let you in.
Starting point is 00:21:55 I'm Morgan number two. That's your skinny. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Tell me something good. A family in Texas was upstairs, getting ready for bed. The daughters are asleep. Mom and Dad about to lay down when they hear the dog going crazy downstairs.
Starting point is 00:22:13 Like, what's going on? And they go, they turn on the kitchen light. And there's a guy in their kitchen and the dog has him cornered. Like going at him, rah, rah, rah. Guy had a knife. It had broken in. He ran away, but Marley protected the family. Did get slashed.
Starting point is 00:22:27 So the dog kind of shielded the family from the guy. The guy wasn't able to go upstairs or anything because Marley... What was he trying to do? He was slashed. He had a knife with him? He had a knife. I mean, I guess that was what he cut the screen or whatever, but he did stab the dog. But the dog is okay, and I can see it now coming soon to a movie theater near you.
Starting point is 00:22:45 Oh, Rale and me, too. I mean... Maybe. It had to be a little side plot there because something else needs to happen. That's cool. That's a good story. You wonder what that dog was up to? Did he know? Was he trying to save the family? Of course, the dogs always know.
Starting point is 00:23:00 And then what was the robber trying to do? Was he trying to kill the family? Did they ever catch the guy? Yeah, he caught him a couple blocks away. Dang, that's an awesome story. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Last hour I filled in for Amy and did Fun Fack Friday.
Starting point is 00:23:14 It's a pretty good one. I did musical fun facts. But it's not my job to host that segment. It's all of our jobs as we fill in for Amy. So I'm about to have a fun. fun fact off between lunchbox and Eddie. Okay, you each have five facts a share. We got it.
Starting point is 00:23:28 Here we go. Hit that. Fun fact Friday. All right, let's start with fun fact number five. Number five. Lunchbox. Did you know that the moon, we have earthquakes, but they have moonquakes on the earth? No, start over.
Starting point is 00:23:46 We're rolling here. Start over. We hit number five again for our guy. We're rolling, though. Go ahead. 5. You know, on Earth, we have earthquakes,
Starting point is 00:23:59 but you'll be shocked to learn that the moon has moon quakes. And they say it's because of the tidal waves, the stresses between the distance between Earth and the moon, cause it to shake. Okay. And Eddie, you're number 5. Okay, here we go. Do we hit it?
Starting point is 00:24:15 No, you're both inside a 5. Did you know, men? That in Japan, you can get strawberry Cheetos. So apparently they're just regular Cheetos but dipped in strawberry. Also, if it's your thing to have chocolate, you can get chocolate covered Cheetos as well.
Starting point is 00:24:31 You went to Japan and you brought back the one thing I remember is a bunch of Kit Katz with crazy flavors. So maybe that's just their thing. Ramundo, Mike, will vote here. Raise your hand for lunchbox. Raise your hand for Eddie. Two to one, Eddie wins that one. Yeah!
Starting point is 00:24:45 Eddie one points. Let's go. Strawberry Titos. Strawberry Chitos? Who knew there was moonquakes? On Earth. Number four. Eddie, you're leading this one off.
Starting point is 00:24:57 What do you have for number four? Number four, the average dog creates how many pounds of poop a year? 274. That's a lot of crap. It's disgusting. Lunchbox? The wood frog. The wood frog.
Starting point is 00:25:11 It's the color of wood. You find them in Alaska. They can hold their pee for up to eight months. That's right. You guys met pee and poop the same funny. That day. Did you plan that? Did we plan that?
Starting point is 00:25:25 No, we didn't plan that. But literally, they hold it all winter and when the temperature warms up, that's when they relieve themselves. Okay. Who votes for Eddie? Raise your hand. Who votes for lunchbox? Three votes, lunchbox. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:39 The key frog. One to one. Go ahead. Number three. Lunchbox. Did you know when you're up in the sky flying inside an airplane, you lose up to 30% of your taste Buds. Huh.
Starting point is 00:25:54 Yeah. The cabin pressure and the elevation caused you to lose up to 30% of your taste buds. Okay, I did not know that. Thank you for sharing that. That's fun. Is it,
Starting point is 00:26:04 is though? Eddie? All right, you know what paranoia is, right, Bones? Yeah, I'm like, freaking out because everything's bad is going to happen to me.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Did you know the opposite of paranoia is pro-noia? And that's the belief that everyone is involved in a secret conspiracy to help you, not against you. So you're walking around being like,
Starting point is 00:26:21 is that person going to help me? No, that person's gonna help me. That makes me smile. Right? That's fun, is what that is. It's called what? Pro-noia. Pro-noia. Yeah, not paranoia.
Starting point is 00:26:31 That's the opposite. Pro-noia. Okay, this one basically is taste buds versus noia. This is an easy one. Who votes for lunchbox? Oh, boy. Who votes for Eddie? Two votes Eddie.
Starting point is 00:26:41 Hey! Pro-noia. Let's go. I got that one, Eddie. No. No, it's two to one, Eddie. Yeah, sorry. That was the dumbest fact we've ever heard no one.
Starting point is 00:26:51 I didn't know about it. that. You didn't know about the taste bucks either. I know, but I had more fun than that one. All right. Two to one. Number two. Lunchbox? No, Eddie won the one. Oh, Eddie. Eddie. Eddie's all right. Did you know, Bo? That the U.S. Forest Service created Smokey the Bear in 1944 because their deal with Disney ran out. Before Smokey, it was Bambi that would say, Don't Start Forest fires. That's interesting. I did know that. Oh, you did? That's very interesting.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Oh, you already knew that. It's fun. It's fun. But maybe other people didn't. But you asked me if I knew it. Yeah. And lunchbox, you're number two. Bobby. Oh my God. They're just trying to make their delivery more fun. They're going to start juggling, riding on unicycles. Go ahead. Did you know riding a roller coaster can help you pass a kidney stone?
Starting point is 00:27:36 Wow. That's right. A lot of people were riding Walt Disney's World's Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride, and they were saying, man, I passed a kidney stone. So Michigan State University did a study, and they said, 64% of people with kidney stones passed it. If they sat in the backseat on that roller coaster. Two Disney stories.
Starting point is 00:27:57 Right. You're getting to poop pee, Disney Disney? Yes. That's crazy. Who votes for Lunchbox? Yeah, me too. Mike, Eddie. All right, Lunchbox, you won that one, too.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Yeah. Yeah. Guys, so if you have to get rid of a kidney stone, head to Disney. We're going down to the final fun fact. It's all coming down to this. I don't know mine's that fun now. Dang it. Oh, Eddie.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Eddie. Eddie. Here we go. Number one. In the final fun fact. lunchbox deliver it. Bobby! Oh boy.
Starting point is 00:28:24 Mike D. And Raimundo. Did you know that Superman couldn't always fly? What? That's right. In the beginning, Superman could only leap. And so he could leap to the top of a building, but he had to come right back down because he couldn't fly.
Starting point is 00:28:42 And then the 1940s, they gave him the superpower of flying. They added to his arsenal. Now, that is what I call super fun. Number one. Eddie? I mean, for sure, wins that one. Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos, did you know that he owns a mountain? And inside that mountain in West Texas, it's a 200-foot tall clock designed to last 10,000 years.
Starting point is 00:29:06 This is fact. So he bought a mountain. In West Texas. And is building inside of that mountain? A clock. What's the clock? Is this about space travel or something? I don't know, but this clock is supposed to run for 10,000 years.
Starting point is 00:29:16 Wow. Isn't that fun? That's pretty fun. I don't even think it's that fun. I'll be honest with you. Are you tapping? I mean, this was really good, really, really good. Does Eddie get any votes?
Starting point is 00:29:28 And I think so. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I knew it as soon as I said it. And for lunchbox, it was voting for lunchbox, three votes, lunchbox. Lunchbox is our Fun Friday champion today. Nice job. And that is Fun Fact Friday. Fun fact Friday. The Bobby Bone Show is proud to be supported by Grand Canyon University,

Here's Amy's pile of stories. Me, filling in for Amy one more week. A Washington state couple collected their second lottery jackpot from a ticket they got at the same store
Starting point is 00:33:24 when they won their first lottery payout. They went back, this is a couple years ago. They get a ticket, they win $20,000. Scratch off. Boom. Must be nice. Cash. Gosh.
Starting point is 00:33:36 They go back again. It's called the High Five game. They recently won $100,000. Oh, same store. Why do you think that is lunchbox? I don't know. That's what confuses me. Like, why do the lottery gods shine on
Starting point is 00:33:51 people multiple times and they can't shine on me once. Are you disappointed every single time you lose? Every time. Or are you more like, ah, that's another one. I'll get them next time. No. Disappointed every time I get a ticket, whether it be the power ball, mega millions, or a scratch off, I have visions of this is the ticket that is going to change my life.
Starting point is 00:34:10 And for those three, four minutes, when I'm scratching or when I'm watching the balls come out, dang it. And then defeat for about five minutes. A Walmart worker in West Virginia has been accused of stealing a hundred. $124,000 in gift cards over a five-month period. Kenneth Workow of Clarington, Ohio was indicted Wednesday in federal court on three counts of wire fraud. Prosecutors say the guy 63 was employed at Walmart.
Starting point is 00:34:33 He's accused of stealing and activating the gift cards from September 2019 through January 2020. He could face up 20 years in prison, $250,000 for each count. It's just so much money. I would assume he's getting away with it thinking, well, I'm never going to get caught. And you probably start slow and small. Yeah, like very, like one-in-time. And again, he did it through September 2019 through January 20th.
Starting point is 00:34:55 That's not a lot of months. But I'm sure the first couple times you don't get caught, you probably go hard. When I worked at Sam's Club, there was a guy, a cashier. He had stolen some keys from one of the managers and made a replica. And he was ringing up gift cards on his cash register and then voiding the transaction, but not voiding the gift cards. And he would have got away with it because he was spending money all over the city at different Walmarts and Sam's. But then he got cocky and started using the gift cards.
Starting point is 00:35:21 gift cards at our own store. That's how he got caught. Like he bought, like, one time I was a cashier and he bought a camcorder like $500. And I was like, does this dude put his whole paycheck on a gift card? What's going on? And a week later, cops were there. He was cuffed and stuff. They were taking all the merchandise out of his car. He bought it at his own place. Yes. He had been going all over San Antonio and he would have got away with it because no one knew him at those other stores that he worked at a Sam's. So why wouldn't he have a buddy go and use that card in the store? I don't know. You're asking all the same questions that, like, why? If you're getting away with it, just going to another Walmart,
Starting point is 00:35:55 there's one five minutes from our store. Just go over there and buy it. Yeah, don't do it, first of all. Yeah, that too. Secondly, be smarter about something that you're doing that's kind of smart. Like, dumb guy doing smart things always ends up with dumb guy losing. Good one. Good one. Smart guy doing smart things.
Starting point is 00:36:11 Sometimes they get away with it. Sometimes they do. But if you don't activate those cars, it's trash, right? Yes. Okay. So like all those cars hang in there by the aisle, it's trash. until they get activated. It was 20 years ago
Starting point is 00:36:22 when this song from Blake Shelton Austin became his first number one. He was recently asked what advice he'd give to his younger self and he said, uh, don't get a mullet. Nice.
Starting point is 00:36:37 Yeah, but dude, that's what you were known for though. He said the mullet's not as cool as you think it is. Is this your favorite song of Blake Shelton? No. Is this your favorite song of Blake Shelton? That's pretty darn good. What is your favorite?
Starting point is 00:36:48 I like the fajitas. We love and want to bring home fresh fajitas And pictures of margaritas What's that song? The way you are or something You don't even know the song you just like fajitas so much But when that comes on it's my jam I think boys around here is another going
Starting point is 00:37:02 Chew Tabaka, Chew it back a chewed it back A Chewterback and Chewterback a spit Is this your favorite ones? I don't know I like Blake a lot and I like his I like his songs I don't know that I'm a musical Blake Shelton lover I like a lot of them
Starting point is 00:37:16 But this is a jam This is a jam I just like more of the Like this is my This is my vibe So maybe this one Like there's also another slow one What about some beach?
Starting point is 00:37:27 You like some beach? That's not my vibe Oh that's not your vibe I like some vibe. The one with him and Ashley Monroe The slow one? Yeah what's that called? That was a good one
Starting point is 00:37:34 Not Ashley Bride Ashley Monroe That was a good one too Oh Lonely tonight Oh that's a good one That's a good one I guess I just like the heartfelt stuff
Starting point is 00:37:44 And not the mid tempo Or the fast stuff Like give me a Jake Owen made for you Any day That is your vibe across the board. Trisha Yerwood shared a no-glam selfie, and her fans are loving it.
Starting point is 00:37:54 She posted one at first. You get big things coming, but she was all made up. And then she was like, you know what? This is not me. She posted another one. She was like, this is what I really look like. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:38:00 Yeah, it's really cool. Trish is for real. Starbucks is testing a borrow-a-cup program with reusable cups ahead of Earth Day. The two-month program will run at five stores in Seattle, and if it works well, it'll kind of transition out everywhere. Once they finish, customers can scan back cups at one of the participating shops, contactless return kiosks and get a $1 credit and 10 bonus stars.
Starting point is 00:38:23 The chain says one reusable cup replaces 30 disposable ones. So it's not a paper reusable one. It's just a nice one. You pay for it. I'm down with that. And then you take it back. I would just forget to take it back and have a whole house full of Starbucks. That's usually what happens.
Starting point is 00:38:37 Yeah. And then finally, the question is, how long do you hold a grudge, Eddie? Depends. But if it's a bad one, I mean, I can hold it for about a year. Oh, wow. Yeah, for a long time. Good for you. My brother and I, we've done that before.
Starting point is 00:38:48 A year. You and your brother. About a year. I would say I can do a lifetime pretty easily. You walk me into the year being a long time. A lifetime? I can easily dig into a lifetime. Especially if it's one that, I mean, I have one or two going right now.
Starting point is 00:39:04 Oh, for sure, that of about 10 years. Maybe a little less than 10 years I can think of. Yeah, like I... And it's going strong. And I'm firmly dug in. But why, though? Why? Why? What's the whole point?
Starting point is 00:39:15 Mostly I don't. Mostly I get over them. And I'm like, I don't want someone to have the effect on me. But there are a couple I just remind me where I come from, right? I feel like the grudges would be shorter for you that you saw that person every day. But out of sight, out of mind for you, you can probably do that your whole life, huh? Yeah. If it's someone you don't see very often or maybe never, never see them, you can hold on to that for your whole life.
Starting point is 00:39:38 All right, that's Amy's pile of stories. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With producer Eddie. It's 2 a.m. And these two state troopers, Michael Allen and Pete Christie, are sitting in their patrol car, and an SUV goes, uh-oh, let's get them. Turn the lights on, boys. They follow the SUV.
Starting point is 00:40:02 They quickly realized there's a guy putting his hand outside the window. Like, I can't stop. I can't stop. Oh, no. So they finally get by him. They say, you have to pull over. So they got him to pull over. Well, it was a dad taking his wife to the hospital because she was going in labor.
Starting point is 00:40:16 So they're like, well, all right, scoot over, dad. Let's see what we got here. They see the baby's head coming out. They spring into action. They deliver the baby on the spot, hand it to the father, and now the baby is healthy, and the mom is healthy,
Starting point is 00:40:28 and they did it all there on the side of the road. That's wild, because you know at first they're like, we got somebody drunk running from the cops. Uh-huh. 2 a.m. You're thinking, like, of course. This guy's definitely drunk, but no.
Starting point is 00:40:39 What I think about when these people have babies in places that aren't a hospital, how do they know where to cut the umbilical cord? I think they train. I think they train. But, like, what am I'm a, somebody random. Do they just take the baby and the mom in courted together? I mean, it seems like when they see like the head coming out, it's pretty obvious.
Starting point is 00:40:56 You just almost like a quarterback takes the snap. I get that, but I'm saying there's an umbilical cord. Well, they call the ambulance bones. Ambulance shows up and then does everything, you know, the way they're supposed to. But I think in the moment, they just catch the baby. Yeah, that's awesome. Good, good for those cops. That's what it's all about right there. That was tell me something good.
Starting point is 00:41:15 I appreciate you guys leaving me morning corny's. because Amy is still not here. And so I'm trying my best to cover for her. This is a morning corny we got last night. I have something for Amy's morning corny. You know, today, not many people are named Lance, but back in the medieval times, there were a lot of people named Lance.
Starting point is 00:41:38 Probably a lot. Lance a lot. Oh, that was a joke. I thought he had a real story. All right, here's the next one. Hi Bobby, I have a morning corny for you. Let go. Woof, wolf, wif, TikTok.
Starting point is 00:41:53 A watchdog. Have a great day. Woof, woof, ticot. Tick-tok, woof, watchdog. Okay. See, look. It's hard for all of us. It is hard for everyone.
Starting point is 00:42:06 All right, let me give it a shot. The morning corny. Why do dogs float in water? Why do dogs float in water? Because they're good buoys. is a good booy I like that one You do?
Starting point is 00:42:22 That's a good one That was the morning corny I was torn Because I had three One of them I think you already knew What concert cost just 45 cents 50 cent and nickel bag No
Starting point is 00:42:36 No I didn't know that That's good I like that You didn't know that one? I never heard that one Oh dang I should have used that one Okay and this was the other one I ordered a chicken
Starting point is 00:42:46 And a egg from Amazon You ordered a chicken chicken and egg from Amazon. I'll let you know. I don't get it. Which came first? The chicken or the egg? Oh. See, that's too, hard. That's too hard. That's too hard. Did you get that lunchbox? No, I didn't. I thought he was going to say, do you want to know which one came first or something? But I didn't, I mean, yeah, it was a rough one. Good thing you skipped that one,
Starting point is 00:43:06 but that was third in the power rankings. Yeah, it was going to be the one I did. 50 cent one and then that one. Yeah, good. All right. Thank you. That's the morning, corny. Close it again, Raymond Doe. That was the morning corny. Hey, let me talk to Dominic in New York, who was on the phone. Dominic, welcome to the show. What's going on? Hey, how's it going?
Starting point is 00:43:28 Pretty good, man. Good morning. No, I just, I'm calling because I want to say about a month or so ago, you guys were talking about prison. Somehow it got brought up. And I happen to work in a prison. I'm a correction officer at a prison. and you guys were saying like, I wonder if they made, you know, listen to the show
Starting point is 00:43:50 or if they were able to get cell phones or if they call the show. They do have cell phones, not that they're supposed to have cell phones, but, you know, they get snuck in from time to time one way or another. So I thought it was just kind of funny. I wanted to weigh in on it.
Starting point is 00:44:06 And we do listen to your show. I mean, I listen to your show as often as I can. So I just thought it was, I can never call at work, you know, because we're not supposed. have our cell phones and, you know, I don't bring it in. But they have theirs. Are they getting in their cell phones? Are they take, are these cell phones getting in through a term known as keystering?
Starting point is 00:44:29 Keystering, yeah, yeah, we'll say, yeah, pretty much. Either that or through a package or some type of, like, food that was, you know, delivered or whatnot. And so if you find out, if you have a, they have a cell phone and you know it, do you go give me the cell phone back? I'm having for like a day if they've been good? No, no. If we happen to find out that they have it and we usually pretty much take it right away. I mean, they've usually had it for a little while at that point anyways. Is it like at school, though, when you get something taken away from you and you have to get it back at the end of the day?
Starting point is 00:45:04 You're like, all right, I'm going to put this away. And at the end of your sentence, you get to get your cell phone back. You could get this back. No. No, it's usually they take it and they'll catch a ticket or, or, you know, getting some type of disciplinary. That's pretty much it. Are people just doing push-ups all the time if you're walking around?
Starting point is 00:45:23 They are, the ones that take advantage of being able to work out, they constantly work out. Constantly work out. Then there's all the ones that sleep all day. I'd probably be torn. Half the year I'd be sleeping. I wouldn't know. I'd be confused. I'd be the sleep all day for sure.
Starting point is 00:45:37 And so what's the rule on food? Like if I wanted to send up a German chocolate cake to a buddy of mine, could I just do that? Um, it really depends on the facility. It depends on what their limitations are as far as like what type of food. Usually, uh, they prefer something that's sealed. Like a lot of homemade stuff. Again, it really depends on the facility. I know my facility is whatever sealed.
Starting point is 00:46:02 It has to be sealed. It has to be brain new. All right. Well, I have about 15 seconds left here before I have to get off. And thanks for your call. I guess my final question is, do you ever become like good buds with somebody who's in jail? I've actually, I've been on my same unit for about three years, and I've built a great rapport with a lot of my guys. One of my longtime inmates I had, he was recently released.
Starting point is 00:46:26 He was down for about 20 years. And we built a great report. And he was best man at his wedding. He's doing really well. Starting point is 00:50:00 The Friday morning conversation with Chris Stapleton. I love when Chris comes on. Hey, Chris. How are you? Hey, brother, Bobby. How are you? I am good. You know, I was listening to starting over as I was driving into work this morning. morning, and I always love to talk to the songwriter, and that is, that is you. You wrote this with Mike Henderson. That's true. In the process of this record, what point did starting over
Starting point is 00:50:21 get written, you know, when you're putting songs? And then what was, and you're in the room thinking about concepts, like, how did starting over, how did that come about? Well, I mean, starting over, um, as a, where it was written in the course of the record. We took about two years doing this record, so I'm trying to think, I don't think that we had this when we started the record. So we started the record in 2018. So I think this song came in the middle of us kind of shutting down and touring for a year. And then we go on to the room part of it when we got in the room. In my process with Mike, as I show up about 8 o'clock in the evening at his house, we have a few cocktails and talk about life. And this particular evening we were talking about
Starting point is 00:51:07 times in life when you have to kind of start over either by choice or you know kind of life kind of presents that to you and but also the fact that there's hope in that you know there's a hope in a new beginning and a hope and
Starting point is 00:51:23 getting to travel down the road you know hopefully to something better even if you don't know what that is and so the song kind of was born from there and kind of started from line one and and went to the end.
Starting point is 00:51:39 When you have a song with a concept, do you write the hook, like the chorus first? Do sometimes you start with the, you're like, this is the first line of the song and you work from there? What's the writing process like for you? It just depends. It can be in any different way.
Starting point is 00:51:54 You know, like, yeah, sometimes I do have a title and you write from a concept that way. But I think we were just kind of thinking about starting over as a general concept, maybe not as a title. when this particular song was getting written. But sometimes, you know, sometimes you start, like I said, you start, I'm a strum and hum kind of guy, you know, most of the time,
Starting point is 00:52:17 and then you hum a melody and what's that feel like, and it gives you kind of direct. You find some words and some mumbling, and those words lead to other words, and before you know it, you have a song. And that's generally the way that that works for me, but I've done it in many different ways. I've written entire songs over top of lyrics that were already there.
Starting point is 00:52:39 I've written songs from I dreamed a chorus and, you know, walked into a writing room with a chorus, you know. So those kind of things, you just kind of have to walk through the doors. Chris Stapleton on with us. I know you have your guitar with you. I do. Before we talk a little bit more, would you mind playing starting over for us? Not at all.
Starting point is 00:53:01 I'm going to do that right now. Oh, here we go. Chris Ableton. place than the one we're right and I ain't got no kind of plan but I've had all this town I can stand and I got friends out on the cold you can jump in the water and see what flows we've been saving for rainy day let's beat the storm and be on our way it don't matter to me We all's where I want to be And honey for once in our lives
Starting point is 00:54:08 Take our chances and roll the dice And I can be your lucky penny You can be my four-leaf clover Starting over Starting over Chris Stapleton right here By the way that is up for song of the year Starting over as both artist and songwriter
Starting point is 00:55:02 And if this song does not hit number one I quit my show You've heard me say it now Whoa, easy now. Easy now. Now listen, Bobby. People will stop playing it just to get me to quit. Okay, I take that back, Chris. Well, I wasn't going to say that.
Starting point is 00:55:16 I was just going to say, I think it's pretty tight. So, I mean, you don't want to make a promise you can't keep there. And if I were you, I'd hang on to that job. Yeah, I'll rescind that. I'd take that back. I'd take that comment back. But listen, we got to make this song number one. It's the greatest song.
Starting point is 00:55:32 It's the greatest album. I love it so much. Chris Stapleton's on with us. You know, just around town, I'd see you'd come to events and you, you know, you drove this old truck and you'd park it outside the venue at the Ryman once you came and I was very lucky to have you come play a show with us. And you drove your old truck and you parked it there. Do you still drive that old truck? Well, I don't know what I was driving at the time. I do have an old Jeep that I drive around sometimes. It just got back from getting restored. So, yeah, I'll drive it around whenever I can. It's one of my favorite things to drive. Are you like an old school guy where you like to drive the old truck because of what it means to you?
Starting point is 00:56:04 or are you a guy? Do you have a big jacked-up F-150 with all the bells and whistles, too? No, I don't have anything like that. I like cars, though. I like all kinds of cars and trucks and things like that. But, you know, we have farm trucks at the farm and, you know, things that do work. But, no, I don't have like a super fancy truck necessarily. What happens at the Stapleton farm? What happens at the Stableton Farm? We take care of babies. it's a baby time. Is Morgan there with you?
Starting point is 00:56:41 She's right here, yeah. Oh, tell her I said hello and I love her. I always want to acknowledge when she's with you because she is so good. Yeah, she's right here. He says you're so good. And he wants to acknowledge that you're with me. Hey, Bobby. I feel like people miss out sometimes when I're talking to Chris because Morgan's right
Starting point is 00:56:55 there and I love Chris, but I love Morgan. Like equally her own powerhouse of an artist and singer and they'll sit there and people just like they'll look at Morgan, but it's like, you're missing out on the whole package here. They're both right here in front of you. They're both amazing. So yeah, I want to acknowledge her being with you, of course. I watch your career and, you know, I look at the lyrics of your songs and I don't do that with many people. I have trouble remembering things. You know, when you write songs, have you ever written a line in a song and you go, wait, I already wrote that line in a different song because you have, has that ever
Starting point is 00:57:27 happened to you where you double up at all? Well, sure. There's only so many words in the English language and just like there are only so many notes on a guitar you know you you probably borrow from yourself more than you try not to you try not to recycle too much but you know you can if you want to there's some good things that there's good images that are worth using over and over that's the reason there's so many songs with angels in them you know like it's not it's not a it's not something to necessarily shy away from borrowing from yourself although I think you know one time john Fogarty got sued by his own song one time. So you've got to watch that kind of stuff. But it's kind of weird to think about. But yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I've definitely probably
Starting point is 00:58:12 borrowed for myself both intentionally and unintentionally. It's just trying to find different ways to say similar things or express similar feelings. Am I right about that? Sure. Or you're looking for, you know, maybe a common feeling that you haven't heard a lot about. You know, that's the other quest is to, you know, put the human condition into a song that we all have these shared experiences and, you know, love and heartbreak are the common ones, but there's many, many other ones, small ones, that are worth examining and certainly worth connecting with people over. You were valedictorian of your high school class. When you were graduating high school, what was the goal,
Starting point is 00:58:56 as valedictorian as the smart guy, what did you want to go do? I went to school briefly to be a biomedical engineer. Why is she laughing, Chris? I don't know. I think she, I don't know why she's laughing. But that's what I did briefly.
Starting point is 00:59:17 I like that. I don't know why she's laughing either. Then I went to business school for a minute. Clearly neither one of those things took. But yeah, I like it. Okay. All these Grammys you have. Do you put them on display in your house, or are they somewhere in like a storage unit?
Starting point is 00:59:31 I haven't seen some of them. I put them, we take them on, when we're touring, we put them on the road. And there's a ticket you can buy that has like a walk-through kind of VIP thing that is for the people. Those belong to the people to me. So I haven't seen them directly myself. But all those awards, I think, belong to the fans, and I want them to see them. I don't make a trophy room to myself at my house or anything. So is it weird that I have a shrine to you at my house?
Starting point is 01:00:01 No, not at all. Okay, good, good. You're allowed to do that. Good, good, good, good. That's totally cool. And I have a shrine to you at mine. So that's okay. Okay, good, good, good, good. Live music.
Starting point is 01:00:11 Where in your, what's happening with you, anything, where you're like, all right, we're getting close. What's going on? Oh, well, you know, we're all hopeful. That's what's going on. You know, the closer we can get, you know, to, you know, to, everybody, you know, getting these coronavirus things knocked out vaccines and whatnot, you know, we can make public gatherings okay. That's all, you know, we're hopeful for the fall. You know, we're hopeful. But, you know, fingers crossed. We'll see what's going on. And a lot of it depends on all
Starting point is 01:00:46 of us out in the world. And so there's a lot of, you know, mutual trust in the world that has to happen in order for everybody to get back to some kind of normal and get some shots and some arms, you know. I got both of my shots, and I'm feeling good about it. Yeah, I got my second one yesterday. Yeah, how you feeling? Are you good? I was a little slow last night, but this morning I feel, you know,
Starting point is 01:01:09 it's just normal old man feeling bad, not any kind of reaction to anything. Well, I got my second one. I yelled at, Chris Tableton, because that's why I want to go see Chris play live again. I dedicated it to you, right when they chat. You dedicated it to me. Well, I appreciate that. I appreciate that.
Starting point is 01:01:26 Chris Stapleton's on with us. You dreamed a chorus. What song was that? And do they think you're nutty when you walk in? And I go, guys, you're not going to believe this. Yeah, Parachute was actually a chorus that I dreamed. I woke up from a dream and had dreamed the entire chorus to Parachute. And I walked into a writing appointment with Jim Beberts and said,
Starting point is 01:01:47 you're going to think I'm crazy. But I dreamed this chorus last night. We should write this song. And so, and that's what that song is. Do you wake up after you dream it and in the middle of the night kind of jot down? Or can you just hold on to it? Because half my dreams, I don't even remember when I wake up. I have very few dreams.
Starting point is 01:02:02 I can count them on one hand that I remember. And that's one of them. So I don't remember dreams, hardly ever. Yeah, do you think it's like God reaching out while you're sleeping and going, hey, I know you don't dream much, but let me give you the gift of this song? Well, maybe. I read an article that says you don't sleep very good if you don't remember your dreams. So I think there's probably some kind of a sleep deprivation that prevents me from remembering dreams.
Starting point is 01:02:26 There he is, my friend and yours, our musical hero, Chris Stable. Chris, thank you so much for the time. We love you, buddy. Yeah, man. Let's get that number one song. Thank you, brother. All right. I appreciate it, Chris.

Starting point is 01:06:06 Tell me something good. A pair of newlywed deputies in Florida put their wedding photos on hold to save a man who was hit by a car. The bride, detention deputy Taylor Rafferty with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, and the groom, Deputy Chris Rafferty were posing for pictures when the man was hit in downtown Ocala.
Starting point is 01:06:28 The entire wedding party stopped what they were doing, and they rushed to help the injured man. They're all fully dressed in wedding attire. The bride even directed traffic in her wedding dress and bouquet in hand. That's awesome. Luckily, the man wasn't severely injured after he was treated by medics.
Starting point is 01:06:42 The wedding party then went back, finish taking pictures and celebrated. You know, cops, even when they're off duty, they're still cops. They say when you choose a career in law enforcement, you choose to never truly be off duty because anything can happen at any moment. That's pretty cool. That's awesome. That's what it's all about.
Starting point is 01:06:59 That was Tell Me Something Good. Lunchbox gets so fired up about these really cool, nice stories. And I'll read you the story first. Shaq surprised a stranger at a jewelry store by walking up and offering to pay for an engagement. engagement ring that the guy had on Layway. How cool is that? That's so cool. He said the guy didn't want to accept it first, but Shaq talked him into it.
Starting point is 01:07:21 Shaq was in an Atlanta Zales jewelry store looking to buy some new earrings, and he saw a guy saying, hey, how much to pay on this engagement ring? Like, how much is left? So Shaq heard it and walked up. It's like, let me get this. The guy's like, no. And supposedly Shaq didn't want the story to get out, but someone was filming him at the store because it's Shaq.
Starting point is 01:07:41 I have to imagine if you're Shaq. You know it's Shaq. having phones out. And so they put it up on social media. It went viral. Here he is talking about it during the NBA after show on TNT. This was on Tuesday this week. And I seen a guy come in. He was just so shy. He was saying, hey, how much do I owe to pay off my ring? It was just, and I was like, my man, how much is the ring? And this is something that I do every day. The other day, me and my mom went furniture shopping. And this lady, she had an autistic daughter. and she was also looking to pay for some furniture
Starting point is 01:08:14 and I just took care of her so I meant to making people happy so whenever I leave the house I just try to do a good deed Isn't that great? That's awesome. Love that story. Now I say that and I watch Lunchbox's Dauber start hanging
Starting point is 01:08:26 That's his head And why are you bothered by this? Like why does this make the news? It's so frustrating to me I go into a local sub shop And I buy everyone lunch I do a good deed You're still holding on to that sub story, huh?
Starting point is 01:08:39 Nobody makes the news Shaq does it Oh you know what I mean Here let me put it all over the place Then it also looks bad for that dude Because now the girl knows she's about to get proposed to Because this video is all over the web So Shaq ruined someone's special moment
Starting point is 01:08:57 Well Shaq didn't post it And I don't think the girl Oh you don't think she saw her dude in a video with Shaq No but I don't think she would care Like he was genuinely there trying to pay off that ring Right but if it's a surprise It's like, are the engagements coming this weekend? Oh, too late.
Starting point is 01:09:12 So now you've turned the story into her. Now it's ruined. Then, oh, you know what? You couldn't afford my ring. You had to have shack by it. Come on. Like, get out of you. Hold on.
Starting point is 01:09:20 Let me ask Morgan. Morgan, if you're a girl and you see your guy who's trying to work hard and pay off that ring on Layaway. And somebody comes in and buys it for him. Do you think less of your man? No, you know why? Because now we don't have any debt for the ring that he got me. And then we can go do all these other things. To me, I'd be like, yes, you get that ring.
Starting point is 01:09:39 paid for. And maybe you ask, how much a Shaq pay off? And then you hold that against him to go on a little Trump or something. Forever. But that's cool. It's just crazy to me that you would be upset about this story. I'm so frustrated. I just don't understand why Shaq gets the love when Because he's Shaq. He's Shack. Yeah, but I do stuff and I don't get the love. Name another thing you
Starting point is 01:09:55 did. You went about people's subs and I think that's great. Yeah, exactly. That's huge, right? It's nice. I want to say it's huge, but go ahead. What else do you do? I mean, I donate every time I go to Petsmore. But you say that every I was saying. Is that supposed to But it's like a dollar and you put...
Starting point is 01:10:10 It's $2. Okay, but do you want the canoos cameras to show up? Like, what, that could have been a $2 ring? We don't know how much the guy owed left. It was on layaway, so he's been making... A $2 ring. Doubt it. I mean, I just want to say, when I do something,
Starting point is 01:10:21 why don't people pull out their cameras and film me? I don't understand Shaq walks in, feel like it was all set up. Shack says he does this every day, so maybe you should start doing it every day. And maybe this is the one of 10,000 of Shacks that gets covered. Maybe you should do 10,000. And did you notice this little humble brag there? Well, I'd do this every day.
Starting point is 01:10:38 I mean, I bought furniture the other day. I mean, he wanted to point out that he did something else nice. I don't know why you hate Shaq so much. I like Shaq. I think Shaq's a funny dude. But I just don't get why it makes the news. It's such a big deal when he does it. I think it's great.
Starting point is 01:10:50 I wanted to share it. Andy, ruined the surprise. I love the story. I also love that lunchbox is so affected by it. On the phone right now is Ann in Florida. Hey, Ann, where do you live in Florida? In Jacksonville. Well, appreciate that.
Starting point is 01:11:04 Thank you for calling. We're actually going on at night in Jacksonville. I know, because we're not on live in the morning, but we're going on it. Just keep listening to us here. But anyway, Anne, what can I do for you? Well, I just thought I'd tell you guys a funny story. So my kids and I, we love to listen. And on Fridays, I think I played on Fridays, the Izzy trivia game.
Starting point is 01:11:24 You know, when someone loses, you play, you've been born. And so my 8-year-old and my 5-year-old, the other day, I heard them going around going, You've been born. Dang it, Bones. Stories I had to say, you guys can't say that. And they were like, well, why? Because, of course, the 8-year-old is a girl. She's very, you know, inquisitive.
Starting point is 01:11:49 And I was like, you're too young. I can't explain to you, but you can't go around saying that. So I just wanted to thank you. I'm kind of on their team. Because all it means is, like, my name is Bobby Bones. And when you get cut, I bone you. Yeah. It sounds different, though.
Starting point is 01:12:03 And I know. And I explain that to them. So that's why they were like, well, why can't we say it? Exactly. Because my fear is that they'll go to school and go, you've been born. Well, I appreciate that story. It sounds like you have some great kids. You got good influences?
Starting point is 01:12:18 They're saying funny stuff? Yes, I guess so. I guess so. Well, we listen to funny things on the radio. Thank you, Ann. I appreciate that call. Have a good day. You too.
Starting point is 01:12:27 Bye-bye. Should I not do that anymore? No, no, no, no. It's one of the funniest things we do for sure. Okay, because we're about to play right now. Because, as she said, it is Friday. We're going to do easy trivia. We're playing for the tiara.
Starting point is 01:12:39 Oh, is it? it here? Do we have the tiara here? No, but maybe next week or the week after I'll finally bring it in. You're competing for the tiara. First one to five and you don't want to hear this sound. You've been bowed. Amy's not here. So playing in her place will be Ramundo. So any win that... Oh, any win he gets. Okay, perfect. The score is Eddie 2, Amy won, Morgan 1, everybody else. I guess lunchbox is everybody else? Yeah, I'm everybody else. That's it. And you have zero.
Starting point is 01:13:06 I have zero. It's all right. Let's play. Easy. You don't want to hear this sound. You've been boned. The first round, nobody goes home. They're so easy and easy trivia. Lunchbox, Ola, is hello in what language? Spanish.

Starting point is 01:14:23 Wow, I never realized that either. Me either. Really, guys? Well, you drew it the wrong. Eddie drew it like a home. He didn't draw it the way up. Well, they do that and then they put it backwards, like face in the field. No, no, I get it.
Starting point is 01:14:34 I never thought about it being a home. I mean, I thought about that day one when they were like home plate. Sure, it looks like a home. Okay. Morgan, what's the 1993 movie about dinosaurs? Land before time? Is this too wide open, Mike? That's pretty... Mike says he's going to take that question back.
Starting point is 01:14:57 What is the name of the 1993 real-life movie? Oh, Jurassic Park. There you go. Ramundo, what sport does Cristiano Ronaldo play? Soccer. That is correct. Good. All right. Let's go to round three. The United States is a part of which continent lunchbox?
Starting point is 01:15:15 North America. Correct. Who played Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean, Eddie? That's Johnny Depp. Correct. Morgan. Bree and Ricotta are types of which food? Cheese.
Starting point is 01:15:29 Correct. We'll do a couple state questions here. Ray, what U.S. state is known as America's Dairyland? What? You don't know this? Come on. It's easy. What?
Starting point is 01:15:41 America's Dairyland. I know Missouri's a show me state. I guess we're going with those type of catchphrase slogans. I mean, America's Dairyland? You kidding me? Iowa's corn. Dairyland? This isn't known at all.
Starting point is 01:16:00 No way. Sure it is. Right. I have no idea. Morgan, would you know this? I think so. I think so, exactly. America's Dairyland.
Starting point is 01:16:09 It's got to be the Midwest, one of them. that is terrible. I'm going to go with Kansas? I have no idea. America's Dayland would also be cheese. She's dairy.
Starting point is 01:16:23 Yeah. So, say what you think the answer is. One, two, three. Wisconsin. Yeah. I'm sorry, Ray. Play that button for yourself. You've been bowed.
Starting point is 01:16:33 Just bone yourself. I was thinking milk. Yeah, same thing, but, I mean... Mm-hmm. I would have never got that. Maybe we've just, to Wisconsin a lot. Yeah, maybe.
Starting point is 01:16:45 When we go to Wisconsin, we'll tour Wisconsin, and they will bring us cheese curds at every stop. And we love it. And it is the best. Shout out Madison, Milwaukee. You guys are amazing. Okay, Lunchbox, you have a state question here. Great.
Starting point is 01:16:58 I know. Which U.S. state has its nickname as the Garden State? New Jersey. How did you know that one, but not the other one? I thought them was slightly harder. Next round. I have no idea how I knew that. But somewhere I've seen it.

Starting point is 01:17:35 English language. There's Spanish. There's Chinese. Are we going to go to a lot? all the languages? Yeah, maybe. English? I just feel like that's wrong.
Starting point is 01:17:51 English. That your answer? Yeah. Oh. You've been bow. What would you guys have said? English? I guess Spanish.
Starting point is 01:18:02 Chinese, Mandarin. Oh, wow. Oh, man. Yeah. That would have been third on my list. Sorry, Morgan. And then there were two. Lunchbox's buying for his first victory.
Starting point is 01:18:11 Come on, here we go. Or Eddie trying to get win number three. Easy trivia. Lunchbox, what was Harriet Tubman known for? Oh, that's my girl. The Underground Railroad. Nice job. Would you have got that, Eddie?

Starting point is 01:19:34 Let's go! You hit the wrong button. Let's go! You're thinking of Roswell. Area 51, Roswell, New Mexico. Okay, all right, I need to hear it twice. Double bone.
Starting point is 01:19:46 If you keep talking, you keep getting bone, buddy. Okay. The answer is Nevada. What? No, Vegas is in Nevada. You can have more things in Nevada. Rino's in Nevada. I need to get off of you, Eddie.
Starting point is 01:20:02 But let me read this for you. Area 51 is the common name of a highly classified United States Air Force facility located within the Nevada test and training range. A remote detachment administered by Edwards Air Force Base. The facility is officially called Homey Airport or Groom Lake. Oh, if you all would have said Homey Airport, I would have
Starting point is 01:20:22 Yeah, Nevada for sure. One more time, just for all time, take. You've been Bowen. That means with his first victory. Winning Easy Trivia, Lunchbox. Yeah. And they stay, they, and they stay there.
