The Bobby Bones Show - FEELING THINGS - 3 Signs You're Annoying, the Most Millennial Things We Do, & Amy Confronted a Rude Passenger on a Plane

Episode Date: July 10, 2026

Amy is feeling refreshed and Kat is feeling, well, out of breath (because of the baby!) Amy & Kat are fresh off their girls trip to Canyon Ranch ad they have stories. Kat calls out Amy for printin...g her boarding pass at home before the airport and this leads to a conversation about the most millennial things we do (i.e. peace signs in photos and doing things on our computer vs our phones, etc…) Do you know the rules of getting off a plane? Kat shares how Amy stood up for her to a man on their flight (he happened to be doing Amy's pet peeve!!!!) and if you didn't know Amy's feelings about deplaning properly, you're about to find out. Speaking of annoying things, Amy breaks down 3 signs you might actually be annoying. Plus, a voicemail from Linda in Kansas reminding Kat that motherhood is going to turn her into an even bigger crier!! Spoiler: Kat gets emotional.  They also go over the difference between being electrocuted and being shocked. This is an important distinction because Kat thought Amy electrocuted her and harmed her baby. Thankfully all is well and the baby is healthy. Get some Feeling Things merch by clicking HERE! Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. I'm Munges Chatekular, and I'm back with a new season of my podcast, Skyline Drive. This time I talked to scientists, biopunks, curmudgins, blues owners, super seniors, and Goa's top cryotherapy lab to try to understand this obsession with living forever and what it means for all of us. And I get into a bit of trouble along the way. I'd say probably start bone smashing.
Starting point is 00:00:25 That doesn't work. To make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know. Listen to Skyline Drive How to Live Forever on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Paul Verze here, and I want to talk to you about Paul's best podcast.
Starting point is 00:00:39 Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network and IHeart Radio. I sit down each week with a special guest and we discuss the absolute best of things. It's that and then there's everything else. Dude, his whole life has sounded like the first drop of a roller coaster. I mean, I can't even tell you, Paul, how crazy he was. It was insane. Listen to Paul's best podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:06 The World Cup is underway and it's been incredible. On our podcast, The O-A-N, with Daniel Alarcon and John Green, we're talking about the games that have delighted us, the teams that have inspired us, what we're loving and what surprised us, all through the lens of being massive fans of the world's most beautiful game. Daniel, this tournament has been magical so far. There's so much to love that I can hardly believe the drama that the group stage brought us, And now it's time for us to talk about the teams that are left as the field is whittled down to one World Cup champion on July 19th.
Starting point is 00:01:34 Listen to the away end with Danielle Alarcon and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is Chelsea Hanler from Dear Chelsea. Every week, the news gets worse. The world gets crazier. And Yamanika is here to tell whoever's responsible, you're the problem. Do you know I just found out who Sidney Sweeney was? If he got a bunch of women, then I should have a bunch of men.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Do better or do less so I don't have to do so much. I'm Yamanika, and I'm out. Listen to you're the problem with Yamanika starting on July 15th on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. One, two, three. In the spirit where it tells us to the chill stuff and the in between. Sometimes the best thing you can do it just out. This is feeling things with Amy and.
Starting point is 00:02:41 Happy Tuesday. Welcome to Feeling Things. I'm Amy. And I'm Kat. And Kat and I are back from our retreat. So my feeling of the day is refreshed from our time at Canyon Ranch. After Kat and I wrote Canyon Ranch, I flew to Colorado. And while that was amazing and I was there with family and it filled up my cup and my niece got engaged and all the good things, wasn't as refreshing. But Canyon Ranch legit was so nice. Was the chaos, like the not refreshing of chaos of just like going somewhere else or Well, we were just a lot happening. There was a lot happening. There's a lot of people at my sister's house staying at her house.
Starting point is 00:03:20 So I slept in this little loft, which is open over the living room. Kind of. I mean, you, from the living room, we can't see it. But I could see down. And there's like railing. So if people didn't go to bed as early as I did, I could hear them. And whenever they woke up, I could hear them. Speaking of going to bed as early.
Starting point is 00:03:39 We went to bed so early on our trip. Like, Kat and I were grandmalls. It was epic. The first night we went to bed at 7 o'clock. Well, but that was 9 o'clock, our body clock. Right. So. And we woke up at 4 in the morning to travel that day.
Starting point is 00:03:55 That's true. But every night, we would get in bed by no later than 8, if not earlier. You would do a little reading and I would go straight to sleep. Yeah. I mean, Kat was like, she was out i'd be like hey cat and i'm like at some point you got up to do like drink water and i thought you were awake and i started talking to you and then you just rolled back over and started snoring again we weren't even sharing a bed well a little bit i don't usually snore i think it's a pregnancy thing
Starting point is 00:04:26 it's the baby yeah it's the baby i do remember that i was like in and out of it but you said you said oh dang it cat i forgot to do the show notes And like the nice thing to do would be like, oh, let me help you. I think I said like, oh, no. You look to me and you're like, that's your problem. At dinner that night, we got a text from Houston and I was like, oh, yeah, I need to do the show notes when we get back to the room. I forgot for the couch talks that day. And I was like, yeah, yeah, we'll remember.
Starting point is 00:04:58 And then I was having trouble falling asleep. So I was reading more. And it was getting later and later. And it was like 9.45, almost 10. And you'd already been asleep for hours. And I was still reading, but really hoping to just go to sleep. And then I looked at the clock. I was like, oh, shoot, show notes.
Starting point is 00:05:15 So anyway, that was fun. Sorry I didn't help you. That's okay. That's my responsibility. But we did get up at like 5 to 5.30 every morning. And we went hiking, which was awesome. That's when the weather is really the best. The best in Arizona.
Starting point is 00:05:31 It did get hot. But I loved that there was no humidity. So if you live in that part of the country, what a gift. You got to get up at 6 a.m. though, to really enjoy it. That's fine. They're probably also used to the heat. When you're in the shade, it's really not that bad. Just the humidity is what kills me and my hair.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Yeah, that's true. Speaking of our hike, I will say today my feeling is just out of breath because I feel like I'm really starting to feel that like pregnancy feeling of walking up the stairs or just to the bathroom gets me. And you were so kind on our hikes, pretending to also be out of breath with me. Well, you asked me to. But you obliged.
Starting point is 00:06:21 You were like, could you just huff and puff or something? Because I'm feeling really out of shape. And it's not. It's just that you're carrying a baby. And so I said, sure, no problem. And so I started just breathing heavily for you. And then we were walking up a hill and you were like, look, if I walk backwards, then we walk at the same pace as you walking forward. So I appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:06:46 I worked on my, I did some agility training. Yeah. I walked sideways and backwards. You did. We made it work. Yeah. So thank you. And we got our spa treatments.
Starting point is 00:06:56 And Kat and I were both shocked at the amount of women that get into the whirlpool and the, cold plunge and all of that in the women's locker room naked. Shocked. Shocked. But what I came to after day two is we're the weird ones, though. Yeah, it was more normal to be naked in that stuff than not. And I thought, well, did they just not want to pack a swimsuit or they don't feel like they have to or just did we grow up differently?
Starting point is 00:07:25 I could not. I've only ever been to like a hydrotherapy circuit thing like. that at a resort, like a all-inclusive type resort where you are there with other people and they tell you to bring a swimsuit. So I've never gone to like a spa spa and gone into a sauna or steam room or hot tub. So I've never had the opportunity to see this, I guess, before. I do not think that I would ever feel comfortable. Even if I would never.
Starting point is 00:07:58 I mean, and there was that one woman. Like, I'm going, she kept going back and forth from the cold plunge to the hot tub, from the cold plunge to the hot tub. And she was naked. And I was like, why? My eyes. My eyes, I don't want to see you do that naked anymore. And then we would see her at dinner. And right now, I'm like, because it's like, always one place to eat dinner.
Starting point is 00:08:23 You were like, that's her? And I was like, that's naked lady number one. And there's like, naked lady number two. And like right now I know in my mind what they look like naked. And I shouldn't. But I do. And now I'm picturing them. But nobody else thought it was, well, I guess if it was not supposed to happen.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Yeah, I don't think. I think that's fine. That's what they do. Totally fine. Other than that, we had a, I mean, that wasn't even that bad. But we had a fabulous experience. It was just culture shock. It was so nice and kind.
Starting point is 00:08:50 Like we were asking the people at Kenya Ranch, you were like, so is it a requirement to just be really, really nice to work here? And they said, well, people work here for so. long that it's hard to get your foot in the door with so if you get in with an opening you want to keep your job so yeah you turn on the kindness because we met people that have worked there 35 25 25 20 years and one girl gave you a massage she was like I've only been here five years and I'm a newbie yeah so it just speaks to the the culture there and I loved it so much so if you're ever in Arizona,
Starting point is 00:09:27 Canyon Ranch. They're opening a new one in Austin, which I think we're maybe going to have to try because it seems like it's going to be really,
Starting point is 00:09:35 really nice. But we can't probably go the same time of the year, because isn't Austin not, they would have the humidity, right? Austin would have the humidity,
Starting point is 00:09:43 so that would be not as enjoyable. Yeah. Well, apparently we were there in Arizona during the, the, what are they called, low season? Or it wasn't hot? Off, there you go.
Starting point is 00:09:54 Low off. But honestly, Honestly, I think that's the play to go to a resort or anything like that, any vacation in off-season because it's more enjoyable when it's, nothing was crowded. Yeah. Imagine if it was like full, what it would be. You'd have to like fight to get a chair at the pool. You could have any chair you wanted.
Starting point is 00:10:13 Yeah. Well, that one pool, aerobics class was pretty full, though. I'm not going to lie. We were, I feel like we missed out on the pool aerobics. I wish we would have signed up for that. Because we went to the pool that one day and I was like, oh my gosh, look at all these people taking this class and it looked so fun. I think a lot of them were family. People were on family vacations.
Starting point is 00:10:29 Yeah, there was a lot of like groups doing things. Kat was making fun of me on our flight because I printed out my boarding pass at home and brought it with me. And I thought, this just makes me feel comfortable. This is like, maybe that's a millennial thing that I do. But I really like having it. Even though I know I have access to it on my phone, I just like having my paper copy. I think it is very normal. Because usually I do too is print my boarding pass when I get to the airport.
Starting point is 00:11:00 What threw me off is that you printed it at your house with your at-home printer, which most people don't even have printers anymore because nobody prints things anymore. I print a lot of things. Well, we're waiting until you have that baby. What am I going to be printing? Paperwork. Kids. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:20 But like homework and stuff, don't they just like do things online or do things online now? You just, there's all, there's documents and things that you're going to need to print. Yeah, but Amy pulled out her computer paper with her ticket and I was like, that is so adorable. Okay, I'm going to go sidebar and then we can go back to some millennial things, but I just thought of a tip that I saw online and it's genius. And it's about documents. And when you move into a house, you create an email address with your address. So say you move into 555 Star Avenue. you create 555 star avenue at gmail.com and everything associated with that house all the documents
Starting point is 00:12:01 the warranties anything you buy everything goes to that email address and then when it comes time to sell your house and you're looking for certain documents or you want to transfer them to the new owner it's like a gift you're giving them in fact if i was considering buying your house you can be like you know what? I have 555 star avenue at gmail.com and I have everything in there that you're going to need that's going to make your life easier. And they're going to be like, I want to, I want it sold. I'll buy this house. Wait. Asking price. Over asking. Over asking. Over asking. You got 555 star avenue at gmail.com. Sold. But I thought that that was so brilliant. And it's just a little tip in case you, anybody listening.
Starting point is 00:12:47 I know this is random. But paperwork and document. You have to keep up with a lot of that, and you have it printed in a different folder scattered about. Imagine having it all in one place in that email. That is nice. You, I feel like, would just print it all out and put it in a folder. Well, this was my tip to make me cooler. Because this is a way to have everything, so you don't have to have it all printed. But in email, you can search.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Yeah. Well, what are you looking for? Oh, the dishwasher warranty. Dish washer warranty. Bam, it pops up. You get that via email? No, Kat, are you tracking with what I'm saying? Yes.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Okay. Some stuff you might have to scan in. Yeah, okay. Some stuff you might have to scan in. But also, yes, I think you can get digital copies of things and you transfer it to the email or if you're at Best Buy, for example, and they're like, where do you want all your paperwork to go? 555 store avenue for the new washer and dryer.
Starting point is 00:13:49 Or you're at Home Depot. and you get a new refrigerator. You're like 555 Star Avenue and it all just lives there. Yeah. And then you don't use it for anything else. I feel like you're a printer hater. I am not a printer hater. We have a home printer.
Starting point is 00:14:04 You know what I'm getting you for your baby? A printer. We have a printer. Oh, you have a home printer? I just don't use it that. Oh, I thought you said people don't have home printers anymore. Well, to be fair, it's Patrick's. He brought it because he uses it for work.
Starting point is 00:14:18 I don't think I use it for anything. other than I've had to like print out something for my taxes. Yeah. You'll probably use it a little more. What's the most millennial thing you think you do? If I print out my boarding pass, while you think about it, I can share with you one that I know that I do, and it's when I call places and I leave a voicemail,
Starting point is 00:14:37 and I leave my phone number twice. What do you mean? Well, I might be calling somewhere, like my doctor's office, and they have caller ID, or they've got my name on file. Right. But I'll be like, this is Amy Brown, and then I'll give my phone number, and then I'll say like while I'm calling and I'll say again my number is and I give it again
Starting point is 00:14:55 if you want to grab a pen my number is wait but I actually think about that because I always give my number two I don't know if I do it twice um I do it twice just in case twice is crazy but I do it too even though I know caller idea is a thing but my thought is I don't know how to end this like the normal like flow is again this is katherine van buren you can reach me at blank by blank thank you bye it feels awkward not saying that to me you know how how would you end it this is this again this is katherine thanks thank you i'm not going to give you my number because i know you have it start saying have that you need to have that's a good idea do you have a voice message on your voicemount and you neither and i should i should because i use my number for
Starting point is 00:15:45 work but you don't whoa you use it for a professional thing and you don't have a hey this is katherine van buren with three cords therapy i had this is an emergency call 911 no i don't have that i had it when i had a google voice number because you know how those work yeah they like still call your phone and then i like you know i've ADHD and something went on with that and i lost that phone number so the phone number on the front of our building. So if you call that phone number, I don't know who you're getting. So you're not trying to get new business, are you? I think you've got the clients that you...
Starting point is 00:16:26 I just hope that they mosey their way to the website. Yeah. But I should. I just hate... I know. Do you? No, I don't have it. My sister and I were talking on my trip in Colorado.
Starting point is 00:16:42 we were walking home from dinner at night and telling our kids how how it started was we started singing the entire theme song to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air and how we don't know like what we did yesterday but we'll sing you every line to that TV theme song
Starting point is 00:16:58 and we were talking about how kids these days don't have TV theme songs that they memorize and know where we had so many that we watched and knew especially on TGIF like all full house, family matters and then for sure fresh friends was just a very popular one and then my home answering machine I took that
Starting point is 00:17:19 beat and I had put it on the answering machine and my sister was talking about how she was so embarrassed anytime her friends would call because it would be me and she was telling my daughter like that I didn't even have friends calling me it was her friends that were calling but then it was me being like hello we're the muffets with the story to tell we're not home at the moment so don't have a cow just leave a little message at the sound of the tone and we'll call back as soon as spot when we get home. Beep. Listen.
Starting point is 00:17:58 And you're there. For heart-wrenching knockouts. The world's biggest stage. And breathtaking triumph. In 2026 FIFA World Cup. The knockout stage. Every match. Every moment. Listen on TSN radio.
Starting point is 00:18:16 Join the globe. On the road to the July 19th final. 9.26 FIFA World Cup. Stream it all live on TSN Radio. Available on IHeard Radio. And she hated it. Well, your sister could have deleted it or that caused a fight. I think she did eventually.
Starting point is 00:18:32 Okay. What if I think a cute boy called in? Do you know, I used to call my sister's boyfriend to pretend I was my sister. And I would say I love you. That you didn't. Yeah, yeah, I would call and I would impersonate her. Because you were mad at her? No, but I was bored.
Starting point is 00:18:50 And I would call him and I would, I could sound just like her. You could do it. And well, we were little. I don't know. Even now we still, we did that. Actually, on this trip, her son South was yelling up, mom, mom. And I was like, yeah. And he was like, when are we having grapes?
Starting point is 00:19:08 And she, she knew what he was talking about. I didn't. And I was like, grapes. And she was looking at me like trying to mouth because she was up there with me while he was yelling. And she was like, tomorrow, tomorrow. I said, we're having grapes tomorrow. And she's like, no, crepes. He was saying crapes, but I was hearing grapes.
Starting point is 00:19:26 So then he knew. He's like, this isn't mom. Because we're not having grapes. We're having crapes. And so I messed it up. But we still will play that game with, like, her kids and try to act like we're each other. But I used to do it to her boyfriends. And I would profess her love to them.
Starting point is 00:19:43 Then they thought it was her? Yeah. And so did she want to murder you? Yes, murder. She did not like me. we're best friends now but Amy that is mean wait but also really funny how did she find out was did her boyfriend call back later and was like so now that we're in love yeah or I know that one time she didn't know how many times I had done it it was like a running thing that I would do and I think
Starting point is 00:20:08 it was with this um Brad I won't say his last name but I know for sure in Brad she walked in on me and yelled and she was like Amy and I was like Oh, Brad called. But that's what would happen. I don't even think I was actually calling them. I mean, they were calling the house, and then I would pick up, like, hello? Did Brad say, I love you back? Well, of course.
Starting point is 00:20:34 Did she love Brad? I think so. Okay. She got busted sneaking out to see Brad. Well, so maybe you did her a favor because she was, like, scared to tell him, and then you did it for her. She didn't not like that. Oh, my gosh. That's funny.
Starting point is 00:20:48 I was not the perfect sister, but I. I don't think I'd be alive today if I did that to my sister, to be honest. So thank God I never thought of that. Anyway, what's the most millennial thing you do? I feel like I do a lot of millennial things that I don't actually, I'm like fine with doing. The one that I think is my like, other than the fact that I look like I'm in my 30s, that makes me look like a millennial is the laws, which we've talked. about before. I cannot, for the longest time, I never used L-O-L-O. And then I started using it. And I can't
Starting point is 00:21:28 stop. Like, I cannot stop. After every sentence, sometimes when I'm like, I'll have the thought to read this text before I send it. And I'm like, oh my gosh, I said lull multiple times in these three sentences. I was thrown off by you saying lull. Do you not read it as lull? I read it as L-O-L. Maybe that's millennial. Well. Just now you said
Starting point is 00:21:51 it's the lulls. And I thought you were saying like lull, like the lull. I'm wondering why you were looking at me weird. Or like laws? I'm like, you don't following the law.
Starting point is 00:22:02 L-O-L-L-L-L-L-L. I like in my head read it as law. Like, huh-h-l. I can't stop. But that I've learned is a very millennial thing. It is.
Starting point is 00:22:13 It is, which is crazy because I started doing that in the last couple of years in my life. I didn't grow up lolling. But I do it too. So it's like if older people are doing it, it still makes it millennial. Yeah. So I've been working on doing it a little less, but not totally getting rid of it because it is part of who I am. So I've seen that millennials are love wearing their yoga pants everywhere or like a legging? Like, yes, but the straight leg kind, that's what I love. but apparently the younger people wear more of the flared.
Starting point is 00:22:49 Okay. I will argue with that. Okay. Because I feel like millennials, we grew up wearing the leggings, the tights. And I feel like straight legs are a newer thing. I don't know. I don't have any straight leg yoga pants. You don't?
Starting point is 00:23:07 What do you mean? That's all I have. You don't have leggings. Yeah. I only have leggings. I don't have. But straight leg, do you mean the kind that flare out at the bottom? Maybe that's just the most millennial conversation we've ever had because we don't understand each other.
Starting point is 00:23:26 I have sweatpants. Yeah. And then you have leggings. Which would be like yoga pants. Like when you see me come down and I'm going to Pilates. I'm assuming you're going to wear leggings. Which are yoga pants. Right?
Starting point is 00:23:41 That's what I like when I went to the airport. I actually have no idea what we're talking about now. confusing myself. Yoga pants. Yoga pants are leggings. Okay. They are. Same thing.
Starting point is 00:23:52 Right? Yeah. All yoga pants are leggings, but not all leggings are yoga pants. Yes. Or maybe it's the roof. Anyway, I don't have any flares. I will tell you that. So I'm definitely not a Gen Z.
Starting point is 00:24:07 I did find, though, a list of things that make you look like a millennial. And I agree with some of them and disagree with some of them. What are they? joggers? Like are we not, are we not wearing joggers anymore? I love joggers. I love a jogger. I have more joggers than I have straight leg yoga pants. Skinny jeans, which like, yeah, we know. I do hear they're coming back. So don't get rid of them. I've heard that a lot though. And then I still have yet to see them. I also don't know if I want to go back there. Yeah. I think I'm fine. I feel like I thought it looked good at the time and looking back. I'm like, I don't know if that was the best look for my shape. I like the jeans that I have on right now, which are more of like a Straight leg cigarette. Can we call it a cigarette cut? Like a straight leg.
Starting point is 00:24:52 Little baggie, though? They're a little... They're not like super tight. Skinny jeans are skinny at the ankle. They just go like straight down. But they're not boot cut. They're more just cigarette. Got it.
Starting point is 00:25:09 Okay. Got it. Leggings. Next. Yeah. Leggings. Okay. Side part, which like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:17 Okay. I've been toying with the idea of going back to a side part. Probably because you're pregnant. You're going to be a mom. But what's crazy is I'm scared to go back to the side part, but for a while I was scared to do a semi-middle part. So I just got to get the courage. Sorry, did you say semi-middle? I feel like sometimes it's off-centered.
Starting point is 00:25:39 Is that what you call it? Your goal is center though, right? Yeah, but I can never really get it quite right. You know what I do is I get a bobby pin and I put it right in the center of my nose and then I take the bobby pin and I draw a line and then that makes it perfectly centered. It's not semi-centered. I do that with like I have a comb at the end that's just like. Ooh, fancy.
Starting point is 00:26:02 It's like a. I know what you're talking about. I know what I do that too, but then I always feel like I get off a little bit. So semi-sense. So I, okay. Peace signs and photos. totally and I can't stop. I won't ever stop.
Starting point is 00:26:16 Yeah, it just is what it is. And I think Gen Z's do that too. I see little kids doing those poses in their Snapchats. Little kids. I don't see their Snapchat because I don't have Snapchat. That's like all the little kids I snap with. They do peace sign. I take that back.
Starting point is 00:26:39 That was weird. Okay. Downloading physical copies of things. Yes, and printing them out. Doing things on a computer versus a phone, like shopping or booking a flight or speaking of being out of breath. Because I can't see on my phone. It's just, and like you can have the windows and like you can have multiple things if you're comparing. I just, I like that.
Starting point is 00:27:04 Have you ever done a, I did a thing post? You like post a picture and you're like, I did a thing. I see other people do it and I think it's cute, but I've never done it. I don't know that I've ever done it, but I might have. Like if I get a haircut, I'd be like, so I did a thing. But if you like chopped your hair off. Or if you like, I don't know, bought a new car and wanted to post it. Which speaking of, you're probably going to be like Amy now.
Starting point is 00:27:27 Don't. I know. I know. I'm not going to chop my hair, but I want to. And I also really, really, really, really, really want bangs. You'll get your clip-ins. No, I tried that. They don't stay in.
Starting point is 00:27:39 My bang clippins. They don't stay in. And Ella Langley said bangs changed her life. Her whole career. Are you trying to change your career? No, but I mean. No. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:52 This is my thing with you. I think you look so cute with short hair. You're somebody who really can pull long, medium short off. I'm not trying to just butter you up. Yes. But every time you do it, you've done it multiple times since I've known you, you get annoyed immediately. Like two weeks later, you're like, oh, I want my hair back. So I wish there was a way, like, you know, how if you have short hair, you can get extensions.
Starting point is 00:28:20 I wish that if you had long hair, you could get invincible tape or something. I don't know. Because you just want it for like a week. I guess I could get a wig and you pull your hair back. You have a lot of hair to fit into a short way. Well, people will do it. I see. I mean, I think like if I was acting or maybe I just do it for whimsy.
Starting point is 00:28:44 I get a wig. Or is there a way for you to get extensions that cut into bangs versus your actual hair? Oh, interesting. Because I just don't. So, what do you mean? I don't know. I don't know. I could still have to cut your actual hair.
Starting point is 00:28:58 I don't know. I'll ask my hair person, but I don't. It's a good question. And then I feel like you would see the little extension beads coming down. It would look like. It wouldn't look very. It could be like a decoration thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:12 I don't know. If you really want to do it, go for it. But I'm just telling you the pattern that I've seen. Okay. Calling your husband hubby. Did you ever do that? No. I have never done that.
Starting point is 00:29:26 That feels more boomer? Not boomer, but not elder millennial because I think we're elder millennials, but we're 10 years apart. I'm elder millennial. I was just trying to make you feel better. Thank you. It feels not. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:49 This one I do relate to. Looking at your phone when it rings and not answering. Hey, I'm Ruby Carr, the host of the podcast, Encore. Check out our brand new episodes featuring music from the show that everyone is reheating as we speak. Heated rivalry. Join me as I go behind the songs that brought Shane and Elia together. I'll tell you the stories of Fice, My Moon, My Man, Wolf Parades, I'll Believe in Anything, and tattoos all the things she said, and how they all became a part of this global phenomenon.
Starting point is 00:30:25 Stream encore on IHeart Radio, Crave, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Munga Shat Together, and I'm back with a new season of the podcast, Skyline Drive. This time I'm diving into a rabbit hole of peptides, organoids, blood boys, blue zones, and brain replacement to try to understand what this longevity obsession is all. all about, and what it really means to live forever, for all of us. I learned about some rad science. I can make a brain for you, and then we can test what draw is the best for your brain, as opposed to his brain. Here are some hard truths.
Starting point is 00:31:04 I would expect Indians to age faster, but I did not expect it to be almost a four-to-five-year acceleration. And get myself into a world of trial. I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work. To make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Listen to Skyline Drive, How to Live Forever, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey guys, Paul Verze here, and I want to talk to you about Paul's best podcast. Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network and IHart Radio. I sit down each week with a special guest and we discuss the absolute best of things. It's that and then there's everything else. He would just shout one line. And it wouldn't murder. Marie, lunch.
Starting point is 00:31:48 No, burn. Let's talk about the best moments that we had on the road. I would love a cocktail. Dude, Joe could get last row, middle seat on a Southwest Airlines flight. Joe, how was your flight? It was great. The guy on Penn State, we were on the field, and the player thought Joe is his former coach. And he hugged him.
Starting point is 00:32:06 He hugged him, and Joe just went with it. And the guy goes, what are you doing here, coach? And Joe just goes, man. And you walk in, and it is bananas. I mean, it's a feast for the eyes. And I was like, it's not my thing either, but we're here. When in Rome? Top athletes, chefs, musicians, everybody.
Starting point is 00:32:24 Listen to Paul's best podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The World Cup is underway and it's been incredible. On our podcast, The Away End with Danielle Alarcon and John Green, we're talking about the games that have delighted us, the teams that have inspired us, what we're loving and what surprised us, all to the lens of being massive fans of the world's most beautiful game. Daniel, this tournament has been magical so far. The expanded field of teams has created some incredible matchups that have already made this World Cup one to remember. And now things get even more exciting with the intensity of the knockout rounds as the field is whittled down to one World Cup champion on July 19th. When you say it like that, I get a pain in my heart that the tournament is over. But there's a lot of soccer yet to go.
Starting point is 00:33:10 And if the first few games of the round of 32 are any indication, anything is possible in the lead up to the final. We've got it covered from an ultra's perspective here on The Away End. So listen to The Away End with Daniel Alricone and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Well, what do you mean? Holding your phone. Someone who's calling me and being like, oh, not going to answer that one. Is that a millennial thing or just like a bandwidth thing or like a... They say millennials are like afraid of phone calls.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Oh, I think it's the younger people than us that are afraid of the phone. I don't mind the phone. It's just sometimes if I'm over-stimulated, I can't. Yeah. I may not be able to answer. You semi-relate. Drinking out of a mason jar. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:34:01 Do you have, that's what you do, don't you? I used to, and I ordered new. They were too little. Everyone was complaining that they're like every time. Amy's like, do you want a glass of water? And it's literally like, literally a shot of water. I love those little tiny mason jars that are like the, diamond shape. Yeah, I remember. And I still have them in my cabinet, but so many people were like,
Starting point is 00:34:25 okay, four ounces of water. So then I ordered glasses that are at least like 12 ounces. And that's why you drink out of a measuring cup. Yes. I want to order a, my measuring cup right now is eight ounces, but I had an idea the other day. And now I'm glad I'm reminding myself of it. I need to go order it. I want to order my exact measuring cup, but double. So the 16 ounce version. I hope they make it where the rim is the same. That feels like a large. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:00 But I want to start drinking 16 ounces at a time. It's my new thing. Okay. Because I used to just like throw back 8 ounces, but I'm like, you know, if this were double, I would get more water. Look what you're doing. You're scaffolding yourself because you started with a 4 ounce cup, then you move to the 8 ounce measuring cup,
Starting point is 00:35:17 and now you're going to go to a 16 ounce. What I also learned about you on our trip, which I don't know if I knew this about you before, but I guess it makes sense now that I'm thinking about it. You like warm water. I do not like cold. I love room temperature. It's not warm.
Starting point is 00:35:34 It's room temp. That can feel warm sometimes to be on what temperature the room is. Oh. Yeah, I don't ever want it out of the... She never wants ice, and you don't put ice in your... Like, every night we would go to bed and we would fill up water cups,
Starting point is 00:35:47 would fill up one full with ice and you just water straight tap or room time. It's not as refreshing maybe okay here's a thought maybe that's why I don't drink as much water because it's not as like like I love a good cold crisp especially in the middle of the night when you just chug some cold water. At least I don't want to get up and have to pee. I don't know I've just never really liked it cold. I mean yeah if it's a really hot day then I'll you'll want it was a hundred 5 degrees in Arizona and not once did you drink a cold drink. You drank your coffee hot in the morning when we were outside hiking. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:27 You're like, you know how we're warm-blooded? I feel like you're maybe cold-blooded and that's why you don't need. But when we would get back, I would have my iced. It was cooler in the mornings there. And I just, I was having a little hot cappuccino. And then I was having. I'm like and iced
Starting point is 00:36:47 huffing and puffing. Latte after. You know what else I do? I am standing up for people on airplanes that Yes you are. Or standing up to people that are cutting the line
Starting point is 00:37:02 because it's always been one of my biggest pet peeves and I don't know that I ever speak up and maybe it was traveling with you being pregnant and I was protective of you but there were people when we landed trying to get up
Starting point is 00:37:15 and exit the plane when it wasn't their turn, there's a process to de-planning. You get off the plane in the order of which it trinkles back to you, except for some people in the back, the plane parks and they get up and immediately start walking forward, and then they cause all these little traffic jams without realizing it. It's like, do they have no self-awareness at all?
Starting point is 00:37:39 I try to give them the benefit of the doubt and maybe assume this is the first time they've traveled. Maybe they don't know the rules. or if you have a flight to catch, that is the only exception to the rule. If you have somewhere to be, then you make that known. Hey, I have a connection to catch. We're a little behind. I'm cutting it close.
Starting point is 00:37:58 Do you mind if I go? And yes. And you ask politely. People are going to let you go. Who wouldn't? If they don't, then kick them in the shit and go. Like, that's weird. It would be weird.
Starting point is 00:38:12 But don't kick them because you could get like on. No fly list. Like, don't kick them, but what? That's wild. Who doesn't do that? Who doesn't let somebody go if they have a fly to catch? But if you have nowhere to be and you're just marching your little butt down the plane to get off before everybody else, no. And there was someone that was trying to actually multiple people are trying to pass you.
Starting point is 00:38:35 And these two women I could barely even deal with that were trying to do it. And then comes this man. Well, a big old man. I was already standing up because I was trying to stretch my legs because I was trying to stretch my legs. because I was sitting for so long. I'm afraid of getting blood clots. So I'm standing up kind of in the aisle, kind of in my seat halfway. Then all these people show up and take it away because you did all the talking.
Starting point is 00:38:58 Well, and then the women were so annoyed you were blocking. But then the other people around us were annoyed at those women too for coming up. And so, of course, everyone was exchanging looks. And I was just being protective of you and they were not going to be able to get by. And then I think they weaseled their way through. No, you asked them. You said, do you have a flight to catch? And they said yes.
Starting point is 00:39:20 And so you go really nicely. You said, okay, well, then go ahead. And as soon as that happened. Okay, you're right. They didn't weasel the way through. I let them through, which saw them in the airport later. They did not have a flight to catch. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:39:34 But they got through. Then here comes big old man. And he's walking down the aisle. And I put my hand up and I was like, You literally go, no, no, no, no, no. And I was like, who am I? I don't know why I just had enough. And it is a peep of mine.
Starting point is 00:39:54 But again, I normally don't speak up. But I held my ground with that man and I did not let him pass. Well, I just thought it was crazy. I think that's crazy when people did that in general. What was crazy is after those two women went, like two other people then rushed past. And then that guy was coming to. and I'm visibly pregnant. That's what I think blows my mind.
Starting point is 00:40:15 I was talking to Shannon about this earlier today that I thought when you're pregnant, people will treat you differently. Like you wouldn't let me lift my suitcase. And that was really nice. If I had to do it, I would have been able to do it. But it was nice that you don't need to. So I'm just thinking like I'm standing up.
Starting point is 00:40:34 I'm pregnant. You think this guy would just be like, go ahead. Instead, he tried to push me back into. to my seat. And that's when you put the hand up. And I was like, I feel like you're like my mother bear right now. It was really sweet. Oh, you're welcome.
Starting point is 00:40:50 Yeah. Well, he annoyed me. And then I saw him wandering through the airport later. He had nowhere to be. I mean, I got off the plane. You were in the bathroom and these other people that were near us, they came up and they were like, that was awesome. Good job.
Starting point is 00:41:03 And I was like, yeah. You're like a small hero. I was like, any time, no problem. I got you. But I just couldn't believe it. I can't. So if you're listening, and maybe you just don't have this knowledge yet,
Starting point is 00:41:19 you need to wait your turn to deplane. I really just like to assume people don't know. But then I'm like, do they not have any self-awareness? Remember that guy that was on the tram at ATL and the Atlanta airport? And it was abruptly starting and stopping because we had already been on the tram.
Starting point is 00:41:37 And he got on with his kids. And I tried to tell the little kid, I'm like, hold on hold on hold on and the guy like looked at me like weird like stop talking to my kid and then the tram took off and they all fall over and I was like oh my gosh I was just trying to help the kid looked at you like dad she's trying to steal me like it was like stranger danger but that that blew my mind maybe they had never been to that airport or something before have they never been on a tram before because if that was me I'd be like everybody hold on kids yeah the
Starting point is 00:42:10 The guy did a little tumbling. Yeah, and I was like, well, sorry, I can only help you so far. You can only help people that want to be helped. I can only have people that want to be helped, yeah. I do have three signs that you're annoying. It's one of them you run up to the front of the airplane. Yeah, you deplane before it's your turn. Sign number one.
Starting point is 00:42:30 No, three signs that you're annoying and no one's going to tell you about it. Okay. So if you do any of these three things, like you might be. annoying. However, I wonder if people even have the self-awareness that they're doing stuff like this. Like sign number one would be you complain all the time. Nothing is ever good enough. Do you think the complainers know? No. I think, I mean, I become aware when I complain, but I think that people that are doing it like this, just like their baseline, they're never satisfied. I think that's how they know. What about if you say whatever comes to your mind
Starting point is 00:43:06 and you think you're just being honest, but really you're being inconsiderate because you're not really thinking through before you say something that could potentially be hurtful. But you, those people might actually see it as like a quality they have to speak their mind. That reminds me when people are like, I'm not a bad word. I'm just being honest. Or I just say what's on my mind or I just tell people the truth. And I'm like, that's not an, that doesn't work that way. Like, you don't always have to say everything. I think people that, like, do that a lot, yeah, you're right.
Starting point is 00:43:43 Think that it's okay. They think that, like, oh, this is just a quality of mind. I think it is good to speak your mind at times and be one of those people just tell it like it is. But then you have to have. Don't it be mean. Awareness. Yeah. Sort of like the plain people.
Starting point is 00:44:01 Like you, there are appropriate times to. deep plane early but you have to have awareness of when that is you don't have a flight to catch then you don't do it i tie everything back to getting off the plane early i wish i could find that man and just send this episode to him and give a little lesson the third and final sign is you make every conversation about you so matter no matter what someone else is saying you have this beautiful skill of turning the entire conversation to something about you. Here's a thought I'm having. I do all of these things at times.
Starting point is 00:44:44 So would you like to tell me something? No. You don't complain about everything. But you know that I did talk to you recently about how I'm going to try to be more positive about things? Because I can get... I can complain too. You complain about most everything. And I don't put you in that category.
Starting point is 00:45:04 Okay. Are you, I'm just checking in. I know. Well, I would check in on the one. Like, I feel like a lot of times something's all. I love how I'm like a lot of times sometimes maybe just a little bit can actually talk about myself. Well, I do that too.
Starting point is 00:45:20 And some of that is our, with our, we always have a story to tell. Yeah. You know, with our, they say that. That's an ADHD thing. But I also think that's part of, that's a finesse too. Like, that's a, that's a, that's a, that's a, that's a, that's a, that's a, that's part of conversation is, okay, if you relate to it, you can share your story, but let's make sure that this person is done with their, like, or I'm going to share my story and then
Starting point is 00:45:42 come back. I do think that you do that a lot of times. You'll share your thing, but then you do come back and like check in. Oh, good. Well, because I think I'm actively trying because I'm like, oh, shoot. I just say that about me. I better go circle back. But that's also how conversation works sometimes.
Starting point is 00:45:59 It's like, I say something and you're like, oh, yeah, this happened to me. I've been doing that finger cross thing. Like, I'll either move my ring to another finger or I'll cross my finger if I'm like, okay, I do have something to say. And I don't want to forget. But I want to let this person finish talking. I don't want to interrupt. So then, and then by the time they get them talking, I'm like, why did I cross my finger?
Starting point is 00:46:22 And I don't remember. And then if I don't remember, then, oh, well, it wasn't meant to be. I don't see you as somebody who does, like, says, like, whatever comes to mind in And it's just like, I'm just honest. I don't get that, you don't do that. But sometimes I don't. Okay. No, I don't.
Starting point is 00:46:38 No, I know what this is like. My daughter has this. Okay. She speaks her mind. Like very, what's the word? Blunt. Blunt. Yes.
Starting point is 00:46:46 And we're working on that because she, you know, and she'll be like, what? I tell it like it is. Like, well. We don't always have to do that. We need to look at our company who we're with. And while I don't want to rob her of that, trait like because I do think there is it can be good yes and there can be some courage in there and it could be brave at some points like you you know to speak up where others may not uh and
Starting point is 00:47:16 there are also times where it's just not appropriate like we were at dinner the other night with a group of people and she said something and I don't want to say it because it's she could say it if she wanted to but involves other people and I was like when we got in the car I had to say like I love that you speak your mind, and that's great. I just think that comment in particular could be hurtful, even though that other person wasn't there. And I know you didn't mean anything bad. It's just not your cup of tea.
Starting point is 00:47:45 And that's okay. But not everybody at the table needs to know it's not your cup of tea. Because then it made somebody else uncomfortable because maybe it's a little bit of their cup of tea. Yeah. You know? And she's like, well, what? I don't.
Starting point is 00:47:58 It was about this one particular person. She's just like, what? I don't like that person. I'm like, well, the other people at the table did. And now it's like you have every right to not vibe with that person. That's totally great. But do we need to announce to the whole table? No.
Starting point is 00:48:14 No. And I think, yeah, you can talk to me about it all day long. Tell me more. Why don't you like that? Now that we're in the car. Let's go. What's up? What happened?
Starting point is 00:48:21 Who is it? You know, what they do? So, yeah, there's that. Something else that happened on our trip was, Cat was very emotional leading up to our trip and then on the trip and maybe even still. And I don't want to bring it up right now if you're going to cry. But you cried a lot. I think I did pretty good.
Starting point is 00:48:48 Like there was a baby crying on the plane and that was making you cry. Yes. And then there was a mom that maybe we were guessing this is what happened. We don't know for a fact. but a mom was in on the flight deck with the pilots, also known as cockpit. And they were coming out. We have no idea if he was just getting a little tour or if you decided, oh, that kid must be anxious and he's nervous about flying. So the pilots let him go back there.
Starting point is 00:49:17 I don't know if that's exactly what happened, but that was making you emotional. I think that is what I think I heard that. Okay, you did. I think I heard the kid being like where they were walking out of it. And I think that he was like being calmed down. Like he got to see what was going on up there. They got to meet the pilots, know who's flying the plane. And that got me.
Starting point is 00:49:37 Like that is so, I think that got me because that is so sweet that the pilots would do that. Well, you were definitely. Oh, you're going to cry right now. Oh my gosh. Am I making you cry? It just, there's something about flying in kids. And maybe it's because I have like future anxiety about. like what's it going to be like and i and i imagine taking kids on a flight you don't want to
Starting point is 00:50:05 like annoy people or and you can't control a little kid or a baby you can't you just can't control if they have anxiety they have anxiety if they have are crying they're crying like babies ear pressure i don't know and so i think i make up that parents have more anxiety maybe than they do and then so i feel that for them does that make sense yeah totally I didn't tell you this, but on my flight home, this was kind of crazy. There was two babies on the plane and then one pregnant lady. We all sat in the line. I'm like, did they put us together for a reason?
Starting point is 00:50:41 Because they knew I'm not going to be annoyed if the baby's crying. But it was, oh, that was so sweet. It was a, it was like a young mom. Cats crying. She was with her sister. It was not sad. but she was like it was really sweet because she had her baby like what was wearing her and then she was like trying to I've got to go back to therapy and talk about this um but she was trying to like get a couple things out of her bag before
Starting point is 00:51:20 she sat down in her seat and she was like holding up the line and then the sister had all the stuff in her hand so she couldn't help her and so like all the people around her was like trying to help her get her And you were like, nobody's self to me. I'm pregnant. I was just like, screw this. It was just really sweet. And you could tell that the girl was like, felt bad for holding up the line. But I was like, don't worry about it.
Starting point is 00:51:50 Like, these people can wait. And then she had to sit by the window. And I know she didn't want to sit by the window. Why did she? Because she asked the lady that. was sitting in the aisle. Oh my God. She asked the lady that was sitting in the aisle on her row, like, would it make you more comfortable to sit by the window so I can say, because, you know, if the baby had to go to the bathroom, something's easier for her to get up. And the woman said,
Starting point is 00:52:18 no. That I was like, oh, shoot, you could tell that lady was like, I don't want to be in this row. Everybody else had a baby or was pregnant or was the sister of the. And I was sitting next to a woman with like a more, like she was probably like three months old and a car seat. So, there's only two people in her row. And I almost offered my aisle seat, but I knew I was going to have to pee like four or five times, and I knew that would be more annoying for her. So I didn't.
Starting point is 00:52:47 But that I felt like really bad for her when she had the courage to ask, like, do you want to sit by the window? And the woman just said, no, like straight face. So anyway, I did cry on that flight because the way, the woman next to me, the baby cried a lot. I felt really bad for her. She was so calm the whole time. This is great content, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:53:17 Well, we did get her voicemail from Linda in Kansas, who was listening to our episode last week, and she sent in a voicemail talking about how emotional she would get as well. So this is a voicemail about mom's crying a lot, so get used to it. I'm Ruby Carr, the host of the podcast, Encore.

Starting point is 00:55:51 And he hugged him. He hugged him, and Joe just went with it. And the guy goes, what are you doing here, coach? And Joe just goes, man. And you walk in, and it is bananas. I mean, it's a feast for the eyes. And I was like, it's not my thing either, but we're here. When in Rome?
Starting point is 00:56:07 Top athletes, chefs. musicians, everybody. Listen to Paul's best podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The World Cup is underway and it's been incredible. On our podcast, The Away End with Daniel Alarcon and John Green, we're talking about the games that have delighted us, the teams that have inspired us, what we're loving and what's surprised us, all to the lens of being massive fans of the world's most beautiful game.
Starting point is 00:56:32 Daniel, this tournament has been magical so far. The expanded field of teams has created some incredible matchups that have already made this World Cup 1 to remember. And now things get even more exciting with the intensity of the knockout rounds as the field is whittled down to one World Cup champion on July 19th. When you say it like that, I get a pain in my heart that the tournament is over. But there's a lot of soccer yet to go. And if the first few games of the round of 32 are any indication, anything is possible in the lead up to the final. We've got it covered from an ultra's perspective here on the away end. So listen to the away end with Daniel Alricone and John Green on the IHeart
Starting point is 00:57:09 radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is Linda from Kansas. I'm 34. Love the show. I was listening to the show, the podcast, and Kat gets emotional about the video on TikTok about what to pack, and it's not even supposed to be emotional. And she already said that she is an emotional person. I'm just thinking, oh, my gosh, like, becoming a mother, like, makes you that much more emotional about everything. Like, I was never this much of a cryer before I became mom four years ago. And I just, like, I cry at everything and the drop of the hat.
Starting point is 00:57:46 And it's just like, what is wrong with me? So good luck, Kat. I know you're going to be an amazing mother. But you're going to cry a lot more even more than what you do now. So, all right, love the show. Keep it up. There you go. Good luck.
Starting point is 00:58:01 Yeah. Good luck. You're not alone. I did think that you were going to cry and then murder me. Oh, yeah. Uh-huh. after that brief moment where you thought I killed your baby? I did not think you killed my baby.
Starting point is 00:58:14 Well. No, no, no. Part of my anxiety was fearing that you would feel like you did. And I didn't want you to take that responsibility. So do you want to share what had happened? Well, so at Canyon Ranch, they had this immortal chamber is what it was called. And it's a red light bed, but it does other things. Like there's oxygen, there's electronic.
Starting point is 00:58:37 like sound, someone's talking to you like a robot, and it's this whole situation. Like, I don't know. They're like, now relax into your, and then it's like, chirp, trip, trip, trip. And I don't know if there's other things happening. I think there's like, like currents putting, being put in your body, too. It was amazing. I loved it a lot. Well, Cat was in there, and I was like, oh, here, I'm going to give my phone. Either I was giving you my phone or you were giving the phone to me, but I was already laying in there and we shocked each other. We got shocked. Kat said she got electrocuted, but I was like, no, it's like a shock. Like when you pull stuff out of the dryer or you shuck, like it was a shock and it was, it was a jolt, but it was, you weren't electrocuted. It was a,
Starting point is 00:59:26 it was that, it was, it was. You're acting like your hair was like, oh, you're stuck. But it wasn't just like a static electricity, like a, it was long. It was a, it was a, it was long. Okay, it was a, Yes. It wasn't, it wasn't zzz. It was. But in my head, it was zizzizz, zz, z. But it was zZZZZZZZ. You keep going, but I thought, I was like, okay, everything's okay.
Starting point is 00:59:50 And I wanted you to be okay. But then later you admitted to me that you were very worried that I was going to be worried. Because you were getting a massage and you said you couldn't feel the baby move. So when I got my massage, the baby moved a lot. I was getting a facial after this happened And the baby didn't She didn't move the whole time So
Starting point is 01:00:13 And that's kind of weird I'm at the point now where she is Like she's kicking this whole time I can feel her And so If time goes by If like 30 minutes go by it I don't feel her
Starting point is 01:00:23 I do get a little bit like Oh what you're doing So I was worried And what my anxiety said During this facial Was Well that might have shocked her heart and she's a fragile heart
Starting point is 01:00:38 she's probably just laying in your belly now and I'm laughing now because you know she's fine she's fine I just had a doctor's toyman today she's totally fine yeah the baby is fine my fear was my fear was this what is this going to do to Amy and I's friendship because
Starting point is 01:00:54 cat had already ended our friendship no no no I didn't want it to be ended though because I you you were thinking I wouldn't be able to handle that I killed your baby No, no. That's what my anxiety told me. So what I was worried about, I was like, Amy's going to, I know Amy, and she's going to feel responsible, but it's not her fault. Like, she didn't know that was going to happen.
Starting point is 01:01:17 And I don't know how we would move on from this because I think it would just be too big of a thing. I don't know. And so then I just felt really bad. And then I was like, oh, no. And then the last five minutes of this facial, I got a little tap tap on my belly. So she was okay. But it did impact the enjoyment. I mean, the facial was awesome, but it did.
Starting point is 01:01:40 I wish I wasn't thinking that during it. You know? Yeah. So luckily, I did get an ultrasound today. Her heartbeat is right on track. Did you tell the doctor what happened? He was like, do you have any questions? I was like, nope, not at all.
Starting point is 01:01:54 Everything's fine. And we've been fine this whole time. Yeah, no, no, no. So I'm glad that you didn't. But also I googled can. getting electrocuted hurt a baby. But you didn't get electrocuted. You got shocked.
Starting point is 01:02:09 I do feel like that's different. But it can. But I just want people to know, don't electrocate yourself. It can. Shocking. It said if it's like a shock, like what you're saying it was.
Starting point is 01:02:20 Like static electricity. Which you would. Then it's probably fine if it's just like skin to skin like, but if it enters into your body, it can affect the baby. So just don't get struck by lightning or they said it was talking about like plugs. Outlets. Like that kind of stuff.
Starting point is 01:02:40 Don't stick your finger in an outlet. Don't do it if you're pregnant. Shannon says an electric shock is simply a non-fatal contact with the electricity that causes a physical reaction or injury. While electrocution specifically refers to an electrical shock that results in severe injury. or death. Cat's like, I just got electrocuted. We went to bed that night and Cat would FaceTime with Patrick before we would go to bed
Starting point is 01:03:09 and she was like explaining to him that night that she got electrocuted and I just was like, she got shocked. And so did I. So Patrick's like, yeah, I don't. Well, oh yeah, tell him what at the beginning of the trip. I was like, cat's anxiety is so cute.
Starting point is 01:03:26 And her husband was like, oh yeah, just wait. And then by the end of the trip, I By the end of the trip, I was like, it's not cute anymore. It's because when we remember we sat down on the plane, I was like, phew, the back of our, this was so cool to me. The back of the seat, the TV, where your TV is. Where you're sitting would say, said our name. So it said like Catherine, it said D because I used my maiden name.
Starting point is 01:03:56 And I was like, oh, it feels so nice out to know we're in the right seat. And Amy was like, why wouldn't we be in the right seat? I was like, I don't know. Sometimes it's confusing, like, the way that it's written. It can be confusing. On my flight home from Colorado, there was a woman in my seat. And I was like, oh, are you 12D or whatever I was? And she was like, no, I'm 11D.
Starting point is 01:04:20 I said, oh, well, you're in 12D because that's 11D. But then there was someone in 11D. So somebody along the, like, who knows where it started, but there was a mistake. And somehow there was an empty seat near me that somebody, else was just to be and they're like oh shoot I think I'm supposed to be over there on that one and I was like everybody stay everybody stay I'm just going to take this empty seat because I was that just seemed simple and when I sat down this woman next to me she goes well that was refreshing and I was like what and she was like just that you just took her seat and it didn't cause this chaos and nobody got
Starting point is 01:04:57 mad but I do understand people if they want a specific like I didn't care if I was I was I window middle. If you had to end up in a middle seat, would you have done the same thing? It wasn't. I think I was in the middle. It wasn't my, it wasn't the seat that I had. It just that made it simple. And of course I would prefer an aisle. I used to love a window in my younger days, but now that if in case I have to use the restroom, I want that access. And I just thought, well, okay, she found this refreshing, like most people, like you were saying that story earlier, that mom that was like oh i'd like the aisle and that one was like no which everybody has the right to the aisle if maybe she has her own health issues that we don't know about so totally
Starting point is 01:05:44 fine it's just yeah i guess more times than not sometimes people are i i don't think i would have done that if i were if it was a if it was a aisle or a i know but do you know many people it was like a musical chairs like everybody's trying to figure out where they were supposed to be and it was just like let's just it was a 45 minute flight. Okay. I thought it was from Colorado to Nashville. No. I mean, it was maybe Durango to Fina. I can't remember where I was fine. Then that is, okay, then I'm not, I might do that. Yeah, it wasn't bad. So anyway. So Amy doesn't think my anxiety is cute anymore and the baby's okay. I still think it's a little bit cute. I just thought it was funny that I told Patrick,
Starting point is 01:06:25 I thought it was cute. And he was like, yeah, just wait. And I was like, no, I'm never going to get sick of it and then like three days three days later i'm like okay can we wrap this up because i've traveled with you before it's not like and i had anxiety i know but i've never traveled with you pregnant yeah it's different but not bad i think there's just new anxieties and i think that they're cute sometimes unless you think i electrocuted your baby Anyway, it was good times. Kat and I, overall, let's rate our trip. I give it 10 out of 10.
Starting point is 01:07:09 Well, I have to give it a 10 out of 10 now. I'm going to do it. Speak your mind. I'm going to give it a 9.5 just because I had an hour of thinking my baby died. Okay, I'll give it a 9.5 because we had to see naked people. Yeah. And then, oh, I'll give it. This is nothing to do.
Starting point is 01:07:28 Can you a Ranch, I give 10 out of 10. but travel home, my TSA expired. That's what it was. Uh-huh. And I didn't know it had expired because I traveled there with my TSA pre-check working. And then when we got to the airport, which we didn't have a lot of time to spare, I went through the TSA pre-check. And by the time I got up to him, he was like, you don't have TSA pre on your ticket. And I'm like, sure I do.
Starting point is 01:07:50 It's in the fine print. And he's like, no, it's not on there. And I was like, what? Yes. I don't know if I've gotten to update you on this because you have. had to go catch your flight because you were going to Nashville and I was going to Colorado. I was in a little bit of a pickle because then I had to go get into the standard line and it was long.
Starting point is 01:08:11 I was worried. And I was so nervous I was going to miss my flight. So while I'm in line, I'm trying to figure out what in the world has happened. Turns out my TSA precheck expired while we were a Canyon Ranch. That is nuts. What are the odds? It's good for five years and it expired. So I had to renew it.
Starting point is 01:08:30 And heads up, if you want to renew, you have to, you can either renew it right away. If it's before it expires, you're good to go. If it is expired, you have to wait three business days. Do you have to go in? No, you can do it online. Because that would be like when your driver's license expired. Yeah, that wasn't good. But heads up, if you have TSA pre-check and you think you're nearing your expiration,
Starting point is 01:08:55 just go ahead and give it a look see. And Amy, that is just a piece of why I like to get to the airport extra early, because you never know what kind of thing you're going to run into. Yeah, but guess what? I've made my flight. By the skinnier teeth. Is that the phrase? I was talking to Patrick being like, I don't know if Amy's going to make it. I was the last person aboard the flight.
Starting point is 01:09:17 For sure. You did make it. You know. Live and learn. Live and learn. You live and you learn. All right. Well, I hope you all had a good week.
Starting point is 01:09:29 Not everybody who's on vacation like us. I get that. But I hope you had a good 4th of July. Yeah. And that, gosh, can you believe it's already July? We're already going to be almost, think about it. And just seven more days, it's going to be halfway through July. And then seven more days after that, three quarters.
Starting point is 01:09:49 And then seven more days after that. It'll be over. I know. And then your baby shower is going to be August. It's August 1st. And then the baby's going to be here. Kat was having a lot of anxiety about her baby shower, but that's her story to tell. We're going to talk about that another day.
Starting point is 01:10:07 That's probably also why my anxiety wasn't cute anymore because that was annoying. I talked about it a lot. But we solved it. Don't you think it was good because we solved it? Didn't we come up with a, we came up with a plan? Like it was good that we had, we had, we had, we had, time to talk it out. Talk through it.
Starting point is 01:10:29 I didn't sleep over this. Yeah. Yeah. So. But then. I think you're, um, you not being part of my family and saying what you said made me feel better. You know?
Starting point is 01:10:43 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So thank you for that. Are you sure you felt refreshed after your trip? 100%.
Starting point is 01:10:54 I still have fun with you no matter what. I'm sure I. did things that were, I mean, your stuff wasn't even bad. It was just your cute little anxiety that got a little out of control. But we got it all resolved. Yeah. And you're aware of it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:12 For the most part. Yeah. I can't think of one thing you weren't aware of. Yeah. I knew I was being annoying with the baby shower, but I couldn't stop at the same time. Right. So then that's why we paused and I think we figured it out. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:25 And then, ta-da. It's happening. Okay. Okay. All right. Have the baby shower you need to have. And have the day you need to have. Bye.
Starting point is 01:11:36 Bye. I'm Munga Shatikula and I'm back with a new season of my podcast, Skyline Drive.
