Episode Date: May 15, 2026

Amy and Kat are feeling wow'd, worried, and relieved. Amy’s Aura Ring is flagging mild stress and Kat has a new scary TV show rec: Widows Bay. Amy wants to know: What are you loving right now? E...mail or call…we want to know what you’re loving!! Her current obsession is green peas, so the bar is low. Surprisingly, peas have impressive health benefits. Kat shares that she’s loving frozen mango cubes. Pro Tip: Let them sit out of the freezer for about 5 minutes and then eat. A caller from Spicewood, Texas checks in with her home defense strategy…which includes a .38 caliber, bear spray, and as a child, a stick she called a weenie stick for reasons that are exactly what you think. Naturally, now we all need a weenie stick by our beds at night. They also get into signs you’re spiraling, the origin story of the bendy straw, a voicemail about the Chick-fil-A protein hack and another voicemail that reminds us that childhood trauma is more universal than we think.  Have the day you need to have!   Get some Feeling Things merch by clicking HERE! Starting point is 00:02:44 Sometimes the best thing you can do is just out and feel things. This is Feeling Things with Amy and Kat. Happy Tuesday. Welcome to Feeling Things. I'm Amy. And I'm Kat. And I'm feeling loud and worried. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:02:59 You know, some alliteration. Yeah. And before we came on air, just so now Kat and I were singing a song, Energy, Energy. We need energy. E, N-E-G. are you just added some to the song. I don't even know if I spelled that correctly. No, I'd be spelling it. Oh, I was saying give Amy energy. Oh, I thought we both needed it. Do you feel good? I feel pretty good. I feel like, yeah, I've been getting out of breath, but I have plenty of
Starting point is 00:03:26 energy right now. Okay. But if you want me to be in that with you, I will. Well, I have a little afternoon pick me up my coffee, but I brought this because part of the reason why I'm wowed. Okay. Did you know that straws are just to go like this? No, they're not. Yes, they are. Yes, they are. Yes, they are. Because when you get to the bottom, it's easier to slurp up what's left at the bottom. You know how if you're on this end, you have to like maneuver it. No, I told you this. I saw so many posts about it. I don't think that's right. No, it's right. It is right. I know. I know it seems crazy. But you've been drink using your straws all wrong. Isn't it easy to slurp up the bottom with the other side too? No.
Starting point is 00:04:10 What makes that better? It's already been. You don't have to maneuver your cup. You just, you're ready to go. You don't, I saw this and it made sense to me. Does it not? I don't think that's correct. Because I've always done my straw the other way, but especially the kind from
Starting point is 00:04:26 to go restaurants that are bendy, you bend it and it. Those definitely are not supposed to go upside down. That's what they said, even in a juice box. So like in a capri, like a, not a caprice sun because those straws are straight, But an apple juice box that has the bend. When you're drinking an apple juice box, you're trying to slur off every last thing. But when you put the bend in first, you can get the end. You can get all the apple juice in the box.
Starting point is 00:04:54 Does this not make sense to you? Because I saw it. I don't think it's right. I think this is what I think. I think you can do that. I think we should look up the original invention of the straw. Because when I saw it, I was loud. But I thought the straw.
Starting point is 00:05:09 it goes like that so it can come into your mouth. Like when you hold a juice box, did your mom used to flip up the end of the juice box so it has little two holders on the side? Uh, no. But I did see later in life that that's what those are for. Okay. So when you're holding it, it's so you just have to like, yeah. But imagine if you had the bendy down, you get, anyway, it doesn't matter. I was loud by it. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm, this is stupid. But if it, if it makes you feel good and you enjoy it makes drinking that more fun? Well, I don't know. I just was wowed by it, but maybe not. I'm also worried. Okay. What do you worry about? I'm worried that I was wowed by that. Maybe you should be. A little worried. Here, I'll show you. Let me pull this up
Starting point is 00:05:54 on my phone. I took a screenshot of it. I woke up this morning and my aura ring. I check my app. and it had this sort of red cloud situation, orange, almost like ominous. Aminous. Is that what that fit? Feels ominous. Yeah. And it says, symptom radar. Minor signs. Your biometric show. Minor signs of something straining your body. Pay attention to how you're feeling today and give yourself time to rest if needed. Okay, symptom radar. It's the first time I've gotten a Yeah. It's probably because it's getting to know my biometrics because I've now had my ring for a few weeks now. And it takes a minute for it to build up your body's normal heart rate and temperature and something's off. And you were just complaining about your back hurting and being stressed. Yeah. So it's. I think I know what it is. Yeah. That freaks me out that. Isn't that crazy? Well, when I first saw you put that in the dock, my first thought was like, is your aura ring good for you? Because, you know,
Starting point is 00:07:01 when you have that kind of stuff, sometimes you can like become like obsessed with it and work like worried. But I see where your worry is coming. As long as you don't feel. Well, I just, if, if you think my body is reacting to some things that are going on in my life right now,
Starting point is 00:07:19 fine. That's just information. I'm like, oh, wow, that tracks. But if I'm having other ailments, I mean,
Starting point is 00:07:27 I don't know, is it telling me of something else? We'll see. When I wake up tomorrow, I'm not going to add more stress by stressing about it, even though I just said I was feeling worried. I think I know that I'm worried. I already know I'm worried about something. And in a few days, there will be resolved to that.
Starting point is 00:07:45 And I won't need to be worried anymore. And it will be fine. But what's crazy is I know I'm worried and my ring picked up on my worry. Yeah. That is kind of, I would say freaking me out, but it's worried. me that how well it knows you yeah yeah because you know I went on a stint trying to wear a ring like that but I got the off-brand one right and the battery kept dying and that was stressing me out and so I was like this isn't worth it I got a request for obviously we do endorsements for different
Starting point is 00:08:19 things and I got a request for I guess an off-brand ring I wonder if it's the one that I use I don't know but I just got it this morning and I replied back And I was like, I just got an aura ring like three weeks ago. And if I start promoting this, it just will not be in alignment. Because I've been screaming from the rooftops about my aura ring. And I paid the full. Oh, you pay the membership and everything. Yeah, it's like five bucks.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Well, I got this other ring because I didn't have a membership. And then I'm like, the membership was probably worth it. Because isn't that how you get the data? Yeah, but the one I got, you got the data, but you didn't have to pay for the membership. Oh. But I think that just had lower quality. Yeah. Anywho, I'm sorry that you're feeling worried.
Starting point is 00:09:06 It's okay. We do have some information about the bendy straw. Oh, shall, do I might, do I not want to look? Oh, no. The bendy straw was invented in 1937 by Joseph Friedman shout out. He patented the first flexible straw, which, speaking of patents, did you know I'm working on a patent? Yeah, but you haven't told me what it's for. Yeah, it's top secret.
Starting point is 00:09:27 using dental floss and a screw to create an accordion-like joint after watching his daughter struggled to reach her milkshake. Oh. So it was invented for that. Well, I got got it. I got caught. You did get got. But I thought it was really adorable.
Starting point is 00:09:45 How excited you were about that. And if it works, let it work for you. I really thought that it was to get it out of the bottom. You were like every human on earth has been using their straws wrong. No, I was like, well, this is about the, the bendy straw. What about the metal straw with, what about the metal straw with a bend? I think that is a reusable bendy straw. The, the, we haven't talked about the metal straw with a bend.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Google that. See what comes up. I mean, he's like, I will make this work for me. What are your, what's your feelings of the day? Okay. I'm feeling quite relieved. because I've been talking about this for probably a month now, and I'm even sick of talking about it, the baby stroller.
Starting point is 00:10:38 Oh, yeah. Patrick, my husband, you know he doesn't. He's the most easygoing guy in the world, doesn't get annoyed. He was annoyed with me. Wow. So we opened, we bought a stroller like two weeks ago, and I still couldn't stop researching and overthinking and, well, do I need this? and blah, blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:11:00 We opened the box last night and we can't return it. Because you opened it? Once you open it, it's not. This is actually really interesting. And I thought, I really liked this. Because I was like, why can't we open it and look at it and, you know, roll it around the house and then decide if we want it. But they don't, you can't return a stroller because you've touched it and contaminated it. So they don't want to package that backup and sell it to another family because of the germs.
Starting point is 00:11:24 Like what? Yeah. I thought that was cool. Okay, but there's so many items. other baby items. It's home. That's fair. There's other baby items
Starting point is 00:11:31 that you can do that with. But that's what I was told. Maybe it's the same as the bendy straw. Spray it down. But yeah, you can't return the stroller. And Patrick was like,
Starting point is 00:11:42 we could just like tape the box pack really good. But it's one of those boxes where it like the, there's like preferated cardboard. It's not just not even taped. So you couldn't. But we opened it.
Starting point is 00:11:53 I really liked it. And he made the deal that if I hate it, he'll buy me a new one. So I think we're in a win one. But mark my words, I will never talk about a stroller again on here. Or I probably didn't talk about it to you much. What?
Starting point is 00:12:07 I was with you in downtown Franklin on Saturday. And every time you saw a stroller, you were like, there's, check out that stroller. What kind is it? There's that same stroller. We saw like three different ones. And I said, if we see a fourth one, then that's a sign that that's the brand you need. And it was the brand you had. Yeah, it was.
Starting point is 00:12:23 And we saw a fourth one. You did. Like right after I said that. So it's obviously a popular one. Yeah. So yeah, you got a little taste of that. Imagine being with me for a whole day. It would not be fun.
Starting point is 00:12:34 If you decided you don't like it, you could sell it on Facebook marketplace. Well, that's going to be my plan. But imagine the germs. Okay. When I heard that, it made sense just like the vending straws. Now that I'm talking about it, I'm like, maybe this is just a scam so that you can't return a stroller. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Or like a crib. Can you not return a crib? I have no idea. I don't know. I've never bought baby things. I haven't either. This is the first baby thing. Well, I don't think so because, well, not the car seat.
Starting point is 00:13:03 We're getting because it's the same brand. Maybe that's what it is. More safety, not germs. But whatever. It's a lady at the store. But let. Okay. Shannon said it was safety.
Starting point is 00:13:13 Well, germs are part of safety. That's okay. It's okay. Vindy straws, germs. Okay. It's fine. We see things. We think things.
Starting point is 00:13:23 We believe things. I also have a warning for people. You're looking at me scared. Because what's the warning? Well, so we started a new show called Widows Bay or Widows. I think it's Widows Bay. I wanted to say Widows Peak, but that's the hairline. It's the same guy from The Beast in Me.
Starting point is 00:13:40 You liked that show. Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, with Claire Danes. Yes, yes, yes. That creepy guy, he's in this show too. And so we started this show. It's coming out week by weeks. You can't binge it, which is kind of a bummer. Also, I kind of like it because you have something to look forward to.
Starting point is 00:13:57 The first episode, I'm not. not giving anything away, don't worry. The first episode is not scary. It's almost like you don't know if it's going to be a little like cheesy or scary as it keeps going. Can confirm it is terrifying. So if anybody does not like scary movies or scary shows or doesn't like watching these things by themselves, watch with caution. However, it is good. Okay. So something to look forward to. Well, yeah. If you like. Yes. but if you like it, but just know that it is, I've had nightmares and I had to close my eyes a lot. Wouldn't watch it alone.
Starting point is 00:14:36 Okay. So watch with caution or with someone. Yeah. Can you watch a scary movie? It's not my favorite. Okay. It's not my favorite. But it just depends on the overall.
Starting point is 00:14:45 You could do like a thriller. You could do beast any by yourself. Yeah. Yeah. Which I did. That's a little scary. Yeah. I guess students don't have to find scary.
Starting point is 00:14:55 Yeah. Yeah. I have a question that that doesn't come up. Okay. I'm just curious if there's anything you're loving right now. And I can go first if you want to think about it because I have something that I'm loving right now that's just really random. I think you want to go first. I want to hear this. Well, I don't have to go first. Go first. Green peas.
Starting point is 00:15:14 If you were to say, Amy, what are you loving right now? I would say green peas. Frozen green peas. Is this because Courtney cook? No. What'd she do? I saw her cook dinner and she made green peas. No. This isn't because of Courtney cook. I saw a thing, just like I felt, I saw a video projecting, a future telling. Like, they don't know for sure, but they're like, green peas are the next cottage cheese. Why?
Starting point is 00:15:46 Because they are higher in protein than any other vegetable. They're also high in fiber. And they're very filling and they fill out a meal. Well, here's the thing. I have a 15-year-old son. And he loves things that are green. He loves lettuce. He loves avocado.
Starting point is 00:16:02 He loves green. Broccoli? He'll eat anything green. He'll go and open up the lettuce box in the refrigerator and just eat lettuce out like a rabbit. I know. It's interesting. For sure, especially for a teenager. And he likes the peas.
Starting point is 00:16:20 So I've been using peas as a filler. That's how I got onto it. Not only did I see that video projecting that they're the new cottage cheese. like green pea pancakes and green pea probably not okay so it's not exactly the new but whatever marketing team cottage cheese has they're like if green peas could get that marketing they would be up there oh because what are you putting them in i don't like a pea i love a pea i'll eat a pea in a pot pie because it's just like in there but i'm not eating a spoonful of peas in a pot pie no no i'm adding them to things so i'm adding them to ground beef
Starting point is 00:16:58 with rice. Add the peas. A chicken, curry chicken with rice and peas. So I am stretching out meals with the peas. And it's helping because my son is eating so much that if I add a bag of frozen peas to the pound of ground meat and then thing full of rice, I've stretched the meal out. And it's got protein. It has fiber.
Starting point is 00:17:32 So it has other, it's not just this filler. Filler. Like it actually is doing something. I think also they contain polyphenols, which provide protective health benefits. Rich in antioxidants. Who knew? Green peas just need new marketing. If green peas had better marketing.
Starting point is 00:17:49 Peas are like the, that's like the one food that children hate. Like I feel like peas that have ever. They're universally hated veterans. It's such a nice little surprise. Like when you bite down on it. I like a pee when you can't taste it. What? I think the taste.
Starting point is 00:18:07 It's like a sweet little... But pee is what I was going to call it. But that's because it is. It's a pee. Pride month Toronto. Pride is an opportunity for you to create your own space. To celebrate your existence. IHartRadio is proud to be an official sponsor of Pride Toronto Festival and we won't stop.

Pride is so great because it gives a whole bunch of people this visibility that they've never had before. We have a ton to celebrate Toronto. Happy Pride, Iheart Radio. In the moment, it felt like it was going on forever. I didn't think I was going to live. I was terrified. There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. That was your first murder case?
Starting point is 00:19:14 Yes, sir. Fear to say this was the biggest case of your career? Yes, sir. Rape a murder for a child. Just as bad as it gets. I would think so. People, wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder take place by Crevette and DePippo.
Starting point is 00:19:29 Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse, appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum. I said, I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grave. Starting point is 00:20:05 Hey, I'm Hoda Kotby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby. Together, we're going to have meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people, like when actress Olivia Munn shared how she overcame fierce health challenges. I've gone through breast cancer and then helped my mom. mother through breast cancer, and that was more difficult. There's a lot of people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:20:35 All right, listen up. The Jonas Brothers here. Our podcast is called, Hey Jonas. We've here since everyone has a podcast, we want it to as well. And we've had some incredible guests so far. And now our good friend, Nile Horn is joining the show. How's it going, boys? Hey, Niall.
Starting point is 00:20:46 It was the same thing with Slow Hands. Slow Hands is not about anything else, really, is it? You know, or taste so good can't be about food. You do the same, Nick, with some of the stuff that you've done. You too, Joe. Drop what you're doing and listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your podcasts. That made me think of when you were talking about you have a teenager
Starting point is 00:21:11 and he, like, eats a lot. A lot. I saw this thing, this like a quick little meme on Instagram that said, imagine what would be different with girls growing up if we looked at them and said they're just a growing girl just like we look at boys and say he's just a growing boy like we're eating it's a lot but it's like imagine how we'd feel like better like feeding ourselves and eating the peas if we wanted to eat the peas so just food for thought of how we you know talk about the differences between girls and boys I have they're all they're both growing we're both we're both we're both
Starting point is 00:21:50 growing. But with girls, it's more like, are you sure you're going to eat more of that? Yeah. And they're going through puberty too. It's more like, oh, she's going through puberty, you know, she's, she won't stop eating. Shannon found some fun and vibrant recipes with green peas. Okay. Creamy pea pesto, fresh spring pasta with barata, pea hummus with mint. No, she put savory pea pancakes. No, we're not. We are not doing this. They're savory. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:22:24 I feel like that could be an appetizer at a restaurant or like the. Like a delicacy, but not like instead of. It could be a pancake like not that you just eat by itself, but sort of like a tortilla that you put food on top of. Like you could put meat on top of your savory pea pancake. Okay. That sounds. But we're not doing pea pancake instead of just eating pancakes. It says savory.
Starting point is 00:22:47 Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I do love a salty sweet. so a savory pea pancake with some maple serve on top might be nice. All of these recipes use frozen peas to add instant sweetness and bright color to meals. I think you should get on the PR team. Pea marketing. Yeah. They should hire you.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Green pea growers. Well, that's what I'm loving right now. What are you loving right now? Okay, I'm going to do two things because when you first asked me, for some reason I couldn't get my brain off of a food. And I actually have been eating something that I used to eat all the time. Do you ever just snack on frozen mango? No. Are you open to it? Seems a little like my sensitive teeth. I don't know. That feels... Well, if you get frozen, you can, at Trader Joe's, you can buy a bag of frozen mango. Mangos are expensive and they're hard to cut. So that's... Frozen mango is where it's at.
Starting point is 00:23:48 They're already chopped up in little cubes. So you take the frozen mango, you put it in a little serving of it or however much you want in a little bowl. You wait like five, ten minutes, let it thaw a little bit. And then you eat it and it's almost like a popsicle or like mini like sorbet bites. Oh, okay. I can get down with that. So good.
Starting point is 00:24:06 And I've been craving a lot of fruit lately. Ooh, throw some green peas in there. Some frozen green peas in mango. I'm just kidding. Okay. And then the other thing I've been. loving. This kind of matches with your aura ring. I don't know if you've noticed that I've been wearing a watch the last two weeks. I have. Why haven't you asked me about my new watch?
Starting point is 00:24:28 You're right. I almost said something about it on Saturday when we were in Franklin. Because I've never worn a watch before. I got distracted by, I don't know what. Probably a stroller. I know why you got distracted by a caramel apple because you have never eaten a caramel apple before. No. I mean, not that I can't remember. I've never bought one or ordered. one like as an adult. I don't know if I tried one as a kid. It's just never been my thing. I don't think it's my thing, but it's like an American thing. Yeah, no, it was yummy. People were shocked that you had never eaten a caramel apple before. Anyway, I've been wearing my watch every day. So yeah, you saw it on Saturday. You probably saw it last week. And it counts my steps. Oh, okay. Are you
Starting point is 00:25:13 sure that that's? It's probably not accurate. Is that healthy for you? Well, I have been my job, I sit down all the time. And I also don't like, you know how your phone tracks your steps? I don't like carry my phone. You're missing out on valuable steps when you get up to go to the bathroom or something. Well, I more so was like at the end of the day, I'd look and I'm like, I have 500 steps. And I'm like, well, that's not healthy because I'm sitting for five hours. I can't walk when I'm working.
Starting point is 00:25:42 And so I wanted to know like accurately, like how much am I really? walking and moving because when I get home from work, I've also been, you know, pregnancy. I'll give myself a lot of grace for the first, why are you laughing? I just, well, I was curious, you want to know why I'm laughing? Okay, and here's my brain. While you're talking, I'm like, oh, I wonder, what is the brand? Ooh, should you put that in the next newsletter as like the item that you're obsessed with at the moment?
Starting point is 00:26:09 And I was like picturing you having your cute little watch, like tap here if you want to get one. And then over it's like, what is under my picture and it's green bees? So then I was like, okay. You want me to link fees? I probably think I probably need to find something else that I would link. But what brand is it? Because I've never seen it. So I found this from a friend who saw an influencer post about it.
Starting point is 00:26:35 My friend was like, she swears by this watch. And I'm like, she probably doesn't wear that watch. Because if she posts an aura ring, less people are going to buy that than if she posts, this $27 watch. So I was skeptical of it. It was $27. It's like nice looking. It's time you. Timur. Time year. Time year. Timur. Timur. But it was $27. So I was like if it's, if it doesn't work, whatever, I've loved having like the time on my hand though. And like it has the day of the week. And the date. And it has, I can set an alarm. It's like I've never had a watch before. I'm like. Old do we sound.
Starting point is 00:27:18 I'm like, guys. This is the most riveted episode. Green peas. Have you ever wanted to watch? You ask what I'm loving. But it is really cute. It is like, it's like a gold. It's different.
Starting point is 00:27:35 And it's not one you see every day. And for $27. Well, and like I used to have, I did have a watch at one point. I had an Apple Watch back in the day. And I had like a Garmin. I use those when I would run to like track my distance and like my pace and stuff. But I don't want to know all of that. Like I just want to know like, am I like getting around?
Starting point is 00:27:55 I want to be like seven to eight thousand steps a day. I'm fine with. I was getting like 500. You know, obviously the standard that we've heard forever is like 10,000, blah, blah, but that's not totally necessary. Although it's a good goal to have. I think if you're able, but I wouldn't, I used to beat myself up about it if I didn't make it to 10.
Starting point is 00:28:13 But now I at least try to make it to 4,000. because I saw, like, for our mental health, $4,000 is the goal for your brain. So I'm like, okay, I'd rather approach this for brain health than... Right. And then as long as I'm between 4 and 10, I feel good about it. Well, and like the other day, like I said, I was like, back first trimester, I was on the couch all day long.
Starting point is 00:28:34 I'm allowed to do that. But then I got in this habit of like getting home from work and just sitting on the couch. And it's so nice out. And when I looked at my watch and I was like, you've had 1,600. steps and it's three o'clock in the afternoon. It was so motivating to get me to go outside. Right.
Starting point is 00:28:50 You know? Not even because I'm like, oh, I have to burn these colors. It was like, I probably need some fresh air. Like, it's really nice and it's fashionable. So, yeah. So shout out to the influencer that your friends saw. Yeah, and it made me think of how you were like, six months ago we talked about this. Like, do influencers really use the stuff that they sell?
Starting point is 00:29:11 I did think about that when she told me. But then honestly, I'm like, well, if it's a good wreck, I don't really care if she really uses it. Yeah. She probably has a nicer watch. But if that's when you can throw on or you really like it, then, yeah, who cares? And if I break it, if something happens to it, you're not worried about it. I'll lose it eventually.
Starting point is 00:29:28 Yeah. Money or thing? $27. So people really resonated with your glasses story from last week. Which made me feel so seen. I was bumping on social media, like tons of shares. Sorry, I eat green peas now. Bump in.
Starting point is 00:29:52 I mean popping. It was popping off. It was popping off. That's what the kids say. No, it was popping off. It got shared like, what, like a thousand times or something or almost? Last time I checked it was around 800. But like, let's shoot for a thousand.
Starting point is 00:30:08 Okay. Let's see where it is now. Okay. I'll look it up because it's been a couple days since I looked. Yours popped off too. Well, yeah, but when something gets shared, Yes, mine might have more views of my parents doing it. You're walking in on that.
Starting point is 00:30:21 But I don't know if people, I think people are just like, oh, that's crazy. Like so many people. I mean, there were people in the comments. They're like, oh, my gosh, that happened to me too, scarred for life. Which we have a voicemail coming up. We'll play probably, I think, towards the end of the show, we have a funny voicemail that we got from a listener regarding that. But I think with yours, people were resonating.
Starting point is 00:30:42 Like, I had that. This is me. anxiety as a kid or I would sleep with my glasses. And okay, let's see. Let's go to the shares. Is it popping? Is it 917? Oh my goodness.
Starting point is 00:30:54 Yeah. Okay, so it's still going. Mm-hmm. Huh. Yeah. Who knew? Social media. It's weird how it works because you would think like that many shares.
Starting point is 00:31:03 Anyway, views and videos. That would be viral. I don't know what makes something viral. You never know. I think sometimes it's random. It's totally random. We know that for us, if we talk about. about giving cussing, giving people permission to cuss for their mental health.
Starting point is 00:31:20 That worked really well. Well, and because remember, not remember, but you posted that same video to TikTok and I looked and it had like a thousand views. Well, Instagram loved it. Yes. Well, it's just weird how that works. Like one can pop off in the other. It's two different worlds.
Starting point is 00:31:39 Kane Brown was talking about how he's got Instagram or meta, like meta things like Facebook. and Instagram down. He's got those on lock. He said as an artist, he cannot pop off on TikTok. Which you would think he's really famous. He could. He is.
Starting point is 00:31:54 I interviewed him at IHurt Country Festival, and that's one of the things. He said that his team just had this whole meeting about how he can't freaking figure out TikTok. And it's not for lack of trying. He's like out there trying to figure it out. And he's just like, I don't know. He's like, I feel like if you're already established,
Starting point is 00:32:10 TikTok is great for new people getting exposure. Okay. We're not established yet. But for him, like as an artist, like, he's got so many popular things going on that he would think it would happen for him. But it was interesting to hear someone with a lot of success talk about how they're struggling with certain areas. Well, thanks, Kimbrough. That makes us feel better. Oh, well, so we did, we got an email that I wanted to share.
Starting point is 00:32:36 Okay. And shout out to Angie who listens from Georgia and she's 61. All right, Angie. Hey, Amy and Kat, I've been listening to y'all since before feeling things and just love your conversations and friendship. Now that I'm thinking she's 61, she probably loves our watching P-Tog. Right, demographic. Angie, shout out, Greenpeace. After listening this week, I just wanted to let Kat know that she wasn't the only one who was so fearful as a child.
Starting point is 00:33:03 I was always worried I was going to get kidnapped too. I had a lot of irrational fears, and I'm so glad I finally outgrew them. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Have the day you need to have. Thanks, Angie. I was reading a lot of those comments. And honestly, I felt like, because nobody's ever, I've told that story to a million people, nobody's ever been like, me too. They're just kind of how you were like, oh, I feel so bad for you. A lot of the people were saying like what they did. And Elizabeth Fosio, Elizabeth, Rosio, wrote on there that she would do that because she was afraid of a zombie
Starting point is 00:33:40 Apocalypse. And so now I'm like, I have to rethink my outgrowing this fear. I should be wearing my glass. What do I do if something happens? I wear contacts. You don't wear contacts. No. What happens if there's like, I don't know. Let's, okay, zombie apocalypse probably is not going to happen. But the world, I mean, some crazy stuff could happen. And we could be like, what happened in bird box that movie. Well, they couldn't see anyways, so you'd be fine. They couldn't. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:15 Okay, okay, you're right. I was just thinking, like, if we get, like, stranded somewhere or something like that, like, you can only wear contacts for so long. You can't sleep in them, like, my eyes get, I'd have to take my contacts out. We'll just have a go bag. Like, you need, like, a go bag. With multiple glasses. With glasses, other necessities.
Starting point is 00:34:33 Yeah. That's what they call it in the military. If they have to deploy quickly somewhere, like, When I was married to Ben and he was in the Air Force with his particular line of where he had a go bag ready at all times. What do people, this is, you might not know the answer, but you might because of that. If you're in the military and you wear glasses or contacts, do you carry, can you wear glasses? I don't know. Ben couldn't have any vision problems as a pilot. In fact, wait, you have to have no, you can't wear contacts and be in the Army. I don't know. Well, Ben. He was maybe different. I don't know. His stuff was different. I just know he was
Starting point is 00:35:09 always like trying to, he's always nervous anytime he had to go to the eye doctor. He had to do physicals. And he doesn't wear contacts or glasses. I guess you could get lazy. He does now. He has like reading glasses, but they're not, it's only if he's on the computer. Okay. But I don't know if to fly an airplane he needs the glasses because he can. Well, that makes sense that you wouldn't be able to wear contacts and be in like special forces or something like that. Well, we need to go to go to that. I'm not. Okay. Shannon said, yes, you can wear contact. in the Army, but not during basic combat training or field deployment environments. While allowed on normal duty, they must be clear.
Starting point is 00:35:48 Oh, so you can't, you can't wear colored contacts. You can't wear your bright blue. I had purple contacts in high school. Yeah. Yeah. So what about, Sheena, will you look up for pilots? Because now I'm curious, like Air Force pilots, if they can, I just remember Ben always being like, I'm nervous to go to his, and then he would end up doing fine, but he, would be nervous anytime because he had to do these eye drops well I'm probably saying too much now
Starting point is 00:36:15 I don't want to get him in he's out now but his best friend was a doctor and he got these eyedrops but he never wanted to be on his record that he used the eyedrops so his friend would just be like here's some samples um I I guess you could get Lasic eye surgery honestly the government should pay for that it says to wear contacts while flying you must be enrolled in the Air Force's contact Lynn's program. So I guess you can. I don't really know. Ben did not.
Starting point is 00:36:45 That's just something to think about. Avoided it at all costs. Like he didn't want to ever have how Ben liked to be at his job was under the radar. He wanted no asterisks next to his name. I didn't want to be special. He didn't want to be special. He wanted to be noticed. He didn't want awards.
Starting point is 00:37:01 He did. And he did win awards. He didn't want that. He actually excelled. Like he was always top of his unit. Like people highly revered him. Does that sound military? You know, with our daughter, he has a medal that he got from one of the wars,
Starting point is 00:37:21 not a purple heart because he's never been shot at or in combat or anything, but he has a bronze star maybe or something. And you can put that on your license plate. Now, he would never for himself, he doesn't want that kind of attention. But when our daughter started driving, he put it on a, her car. What does she get from? Well, she's black. And his thinking, when we went through adoption training, they said, as white people, you aren't going to understand what your child may go through of a different race when they're pulled over. And this isn't anything again. I mean, it's just
Starting point is 00:37:57 there's stories out there. So you can't be too careful. It's not like we're, I know law enforcement that respects all races. I'm not pinpointing anything. I guess I just feel weird. saying it because I don't want anybody to think I'm calling them out. But obviously we know of circumstances in which people have been treated unfairly. And so we thought for her, it's just like an extra protection that we won't ever understand, but they may see, oh, Air Force, oh, a medal, oh, tell me. And she could say, oh, my dad served in the Air Force. And it's more of a conversation starter of like, oh, fellow first responder type or, you know, police, military, Firefighter.
Starting point is 00:38:40 That was like our one thing we could do for her that we won't ever understand as white people. Pride is like love. You feel it in your heart. IR. Radio. Canada's number one streaming app for radio and podcasts, including IHart Pride Canada,

Starting point is 00:39:41 That was your first murder case? Yes, sir. Fear to say this was the biggest case of your career? Yes, sir. Rape a murder for a child. Just as bad as it gets. I would think so. Evil, wake up.
Starting point is 00:39:53 I'm the woman that saw the murder take place by Krivac and DePippo. Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse, appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum. I said I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grief. Listen to the devil's quarry on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Starting point is 00:40:23 Subscribe to Love for Good Plus on Apple Podcasts. Hey, I'm Hoda Kotby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby. Together, we're going to have meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people. Like when actress Olivia Munn shared how she overcame fierce health challenges. I've gone through breast cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer, and that was more difficult. There's a lot of people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:41:03 All right, listen up. The Jonas Brothers here. Our podcast is called, Hey Jonas. We've here, since everyone has a podcast, we want it to as well. And we've had some incredible guests so far. And now our good friend, Niall Horn, is joining the show. How's it going, boys? Hey, Niall.
Starting point is 00:41:15 It's the same thing with Slow Hands. Who's the guy that was in the family movie with the family show? I was about to tell you the story.
Starting point is 00:41:43 Oh, you know it. Sterling Kay Brown? Yeah, Sterling Kay Brown. I only know this loosely. Well, I couldn't remember I talked to you about this, but. No, I think Bobby talked to me about it. So I never heard it from you. So he was on Armchair Expert before Paradise came out, the second season.
Starting point is 00:41:59 He also was in, what is that called? The Mandy Moore one. What is that? This is us. Thanks, Kat. This is a really interesting perspective. So Dax Shepherd, the host of Armchair, they do not post their kids on social media. And I think if they do that they put a thing over their face or something.
Starting point is 00:42:18 And they were talking about how they raised Dax and Sterling K. Brown were talking about how, I feel like I can't call Sterling K. Brown by his first name, but I can call Dax by his first name. Like I don't feel like I needed to. Yeah. I didn't feel the need to say Dax Shepherd, but I felt the need to say Sterling. I'm not on that level with him yet. So he was talking to him about like how they protect their children or how they raise their children being so famous. And Dax was like, well, we hide.
Starting point is 00:42:47 We don't like want them to be on the internet. And then we want them to be able to like go out and be normal people and all that. And then Sterling K. Brown was like, oh, that's so interesting because we do the exact opposite. it because we want people to know who they are to protect them because sterling k brown is black dach shepherd is white and it was it was actually a really cool conversation for them to talk about that and to be able to see the others perspective and for dax to be like because i think a lot of people this is a judgment of a judgment but i think a lot of people see people that put their kids on the internet and are like you shouldn't do that but sterling k brown is like no we want people to know
Starting point is 00:43:26 who our kids are. So they have more, not visibility, so they get things, but so they're protected and they don't get misjudged or hurt or whatever, wrongly accused of something. And I just thought that was, I mean, it was eye-opening for me. I've never had to think about that. Yeah. And that's what we learned in the adoption training, adoption training, if you're going to have a adopt a different race.
Starting point is 00:43:53 Like you're not going to. Yeah. understand what they may go through. And we were like, oh, well, can't hurt. Yeah. So Ben decided to put that on her license plate. And I do recommend, have you listened to that episode yet? Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:08 Even if you don't listen to Armchair Expert, I would listen to that episode because it was very, they talk about all kinds of stuff. His life is so interesting. Like, so interesting. And he is the most, like, energetic human who has, I've ever heard tell. a traumatic story. Like he has some hard things in his life, but his attitude is like,
Starting point is 00:44:32 you just want to like bottle it up. Oh, okay. I'll go check it out. And then when you were telling the story, again, I know I heard Bobby and Caitlin told me about it. But then when you were telling it just now, I was like, did we talk about it?
Starting point is 00:44:45 I don't know. Like, did we talk about it on the podcast? No. I don't know. If we did, sorry. We can't remember. We can't remember. Maybe you don't remember.
Starting point is 00:44:55 Yeah. And you're like, oh, wow. Yeah, no big deal. Something that we did talk about last week, we shared the email relating to your fear of being kidnapped. And now we have a voicemail that is talking about keeping a gun under your bed. This is from a listener whose dad has had her around guns her whole life. So it's very different. I think if you're more comfortable being around guns. And here's what she had to say. Okay, ladies, I'm listening to your show from Spicewood, Texas, and I am feeling protective because I totally agree with a serial killer. My dad has had me around guns. My whole wife, I've done female defense courses where our police train and all kinds of stuff. So I feel very comfortable, and I think that that is a very big part about having guns. But I, too, have a 38-special, excuse me, a 38 caliber, as you were saying, by my bed. and it is, and my dad built something, it's a piece of metal, and the holster is welded to it.
Starting point is 00:45:57 So it's in between your box springs and mattress, so it's there ready to go. And I heard you mention safety. There's no safety on that gun, and that's why it's a great home defense gun, because when you wake up, whatever the case may be, you just pull the trigger. So I highly recommend that. I understand with kids in the house, having one of those fingerprint boxes, but I would have it ready to go right on my bedside table. I also carry bear spray.
Starting point is 00:46:23 Bear spray shoots a lot farther than Mace. Just a suggestion. Okay, so that's good to know about the bear spray. Yeah, I never. Because I think I'm more likely to have bear spray than a 38. Well, what's a fingerprint box? Oh, well, it locks it and you, you your fingerprint. That way it's safe for kids, like a gun box that's locked.
Starting point is 00:46:43 Okay. But it can only unlock with your fingerprints. Yeah, I don't think I'm going to have. I'll keep the bear spray under my bed for sure. Yeah, that's what I'm more likely to have the bear spray. Yeah. Also, because I mean, I think I said this last week, Patrick sometimes does weird sleep things.
Starting point is 00:47:00 So I could see him. You don't want an unlocked gun near him if he's sleepwalking or something. No. We would end up on the news. Or maybe even bear spray. I'm nervous about that now for you too. That's when his safety on the bear spray. Could he use that as a defense?
Starting point is 00:47:17 Like if something were to happen, just did people get off? if they have sleepwalking in their past. I'm sure that, well, if he, like, murdered me in my sleep. Yeah, but it was an accident. I don't know. I wonder. Because we know he has episodes, like, for sure. Not like that, but he's sleep walks.
Starting point is 00:47:38 He's never, well, he's only, since I've been with him, he's only gotten out of the bed twice. But he does, he'll talk, and sometimes he does interesting movements. Right. Okay. That's interesting. I don't know. I don't know either. That was from Lindsay, by the way, and she called back and left another message because she had more to say. And boy, am I glad she called back? Because this is a really good tip. Okay. I forgot this part. Two cats sleeping in her glasses. When I was a little kid, this is Lindsay, the friend Spicewood that just called. I forgot to put this part on this. I used to sleep when I was a kid with a big stick and I called it a weenie stick. So if anybody broke in, I'd hit them in the wee. I hope that serial killers are having the day they need to have. Bye.
Starting point is 00:48:25 A weenie stick. So I could do a ween stick in bear spray. Yeah. For sure. I wonder if it was like an actual stick outside or do you have like a baton or something. Oh, I was picturing like a metal rod. I mean, baseball bat. Good point.
Starting point is 00:48:40 That's interesting. You were maybe picturing a stick outside. I was picturing like one of those sticks that police use, like a night stick. The baton thing. Isn't that called a nightstick? Oh. I don't know. Sure.
Starting point is 00:48:51 I think it's called a baton too. Okay. But not like a baton you would twirl. Did you ever have a baton as a child? Well, I, we did because my mom was a majorette in high school. She could twill fire. Wow. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:03 That's awesome. Yeah. She still has like her like outfits and she still has her batons from when she was in high school. We played with them when we were kids. But I could be like, mom, I need your baton to put under my bed. To be your ween stick. Yes.
Starting point is 00:49:17 It's made out of metal. It would hurt. We got another voicemail about our Chick-fil-A protein bar discussion. This is from Tony. Hi, this is Tony, and I am in Lebanon, and I'm 42 years old, and I just wanted to let y'all know that at Chick-fil-A, you can order just the chicken filet. It's in the app, and it's $4.70 if you order just the chicken filet. if you order just the fried fillet.
Starting point is 00:49:51 Just thought y'all might find that interesting. Thank you and have the day you need to have. So you know you don't even have to get the bun. You don't have to have food waste. I wasted the bun the other day. I went after we talked about it. Yeah. I was craving it.
Starting point is 00:50:04 So I went and I tried it and I just ate the fried filet. And it was like, it was okay. Then I went back a couple days later. And I was with the kids and I got nuggets. and I was like, this is where it's at. If I'm just going to eat fried protein meat, I might as well eat the nuggets. Like, to me, it was better.
Starting point is 00:50:22 It was eating the filet felt weird. What is the science hack behind doing the filet versus why weren't people just like go get chicken nuggets? I think it was just more of like if you're going to get a protein bar, like get the filet. Because it's a bar. Like, just take a bite out of this instead of a protein bar. And honestly, there might be more protein in the filet than nuggets unless you get a 12
Starting point is 00:50:45 count. Maybe. I don't know how many nuggets. You have to get to equal the chicken filet. Chicken filet. But I just thought it was meh. And when I got the nuggets, I was like, okay, this is where it's at. Because the fillet, I wanted like the bread.
Starting point is 00:51:00 And the pickles. I know you don't like the pickles. That's fine. And you ate it plain no ketchup. No, I dipped it in stuff. I dipped it. I dipped my protein bar in stuff. Shannon said that the standard fried chicken filet has around 23 grams,
Starting point is 00:51:14 while a 12 count nugget can take a 40s. You're already getting more protein if you get the 12 count. Oh, go for the 12 count, guys. Let's go. I did see that if you're a nurse at Chick-fil-A, today's the final day, though. Today's the final day of Nurses' Week. So I guess Nurses Week started last week, and it goes until today. When people are listening to this, it's going to be Tuesday the 12th.
Starting point is 00:51:34 And that's the final day of Nurses Week. And the final day you can get like a free Chick-fil-A sandwich or chicken biscuit. Now that's where it's at, the chicken biscuit from Chick-fil-A, but you have to have it on the biscuit. It would never take the filet off of the biscuit. That's too good and precious of carbs. So good. With a little jelly.
Starting point is 00:51:53 Do you eat it with jelly? No, but get this. I eat it plain. Okay. I don't like jelly. It's not my. Okay. It's fine.
Starting point is 00:52:01 My husband eats his chicken biscuit with ketchup on it. Okay. Is that not? I love ketchup and I don't. I love the idea of that. On a biscuit? It feels like not correct. No.
Starting point is 00:52:12 So I'd rather have jelly than the question. Yeah. So if you are a nurse, I saw you could go by. You just have to show a valid ID that you're a nurse. Which you should have. Here's my hospital identification card. So you can't go be like, I'm a nurse. I'm definitely not a nurse.
Starting point is 00:52:29 But fun fact, May 12th is nurse's day because that's Florence Nightingale's birthday. And Florence Nightingale is the founder of modern nursing or something like that. So shout out to any of our listeners that are nurses. I feel like we probably have a lot. My sister, Kim, my half-sister Kim, she's a nurse. Go get your chick-fil-A. Go get your free Chick-fil-A today, girl. Do you know what, like, Florence Nightingale?
Starting point is 00:52:57 Like, what time period is she from? Like when you said that, like, what is modern nursing? Is she, like, from 19-19-did. Was she a nurse in, like, 1930 or 1940? 1820 to 19-10. Oh, so modern nursing was... I was thinking it was like around, I don't know, the Great Depression. We had to have nurses before that.
Starting point is 00:53:20 I'm modern nursing. What's a modern nurse? I don't know. So she died in 1910. So she wasn't even alive when the Titanic sank. She was 90 years old, though. Wow. Good for her.
Starting point is 00:53:33 Shout out to her. That was way late on that. Yeah. Well, happy birthday Florence. Wait, when did the Titanic sink? 1912. You didn't know that? How did you know that?
Starting point is 00:53:45 I would have said 1920 for some reason. Pride is like love. You feel it in your heart. IR. Radio. Starting point is 00:54:38 They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. That was your first murder case? Yes, sir. Fear to say this was the biggest case of your career? Yes, sir. Rape and murder for a child. She's as bad as it gets.
Starting point is 00:54:52 I would think so. evil wake up i'm the woman saw the murder take place by crevette and de pippo anthony de pippo showed no signs of remorse appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum i said i'm not guilty i'll take it to the grief listen to the devil's quarry on the i heart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts and to hear the devil's quarry ad free with exclusive content Subscribe to Love for Good Plus on Apple Podcasts. Hey, I'm Hoda Kotby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby. Together, we're going to have meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people,
Starting point is 00:55:46 like when actress Olivia Munn shared how she overcame fierce health challenges. All right, listen up. The Jonas Brothers here.
Starting point is 00:56:09 Our podcast is called, Hey Jonas. We're here, since everyone has a podcast, we want it to as well. And we've had some incredible guests so far. And now our good friend, Nile Horn, is joining the show. How's it going, boys? Hey, Niall. It's the same thing with Slow Hands. Slow Hands is not about anything else, really, is it?
Starting point is 00:56:21 You know, or taste so good can't be about food. You do the same, Nick, with some of the stuff that you've done. You too, Joe. Drop what you're doing and listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your podcasts. You didn't know that? How did you know that? I would have said 1920 for some reason. No, 1912.
Starting point is 00:56:47 And then the movie Titanic came out in 1997. 1997. Because I saw it Valentine's Day, 1998, and it had already been out a couple of months. Were you on a date? I was. And I remember my boyfriend at the time. And I know when we dated, so I know that's what we went to see. Cute.
Starting point is 00:57:08 Did you see Titanic in theaters or you were too little? This is the thing about that. I remember, this is what's weird. I remember being at my friend Katie's house and us being like, we're going to go see Titanic in theaters. But I would have been eight years old. Well, that's okay. I saw a pretty woman at nine.
Starting point is 00:57:27 You said 1997? Yeah. I was seven years old. But it was still in theaters in 1998 because I'm saying I went in 1998. I went Valentine's Day in 1998. Well, I would have been seven at that time. Okay. But I can't imagine going, why do I have the memory that I did that?
Starting point is 00:57:46 But there's no way I did that. Do you have any of those? Like I have this distinct memory. Maybe I had a dream. Maybe I dream this happened and now I'm confusing like this dream I had as an adult with like an actual memory as a child. I do that with pictures from childhood as like I, or videos that I've seen where I think I was there. And then our brain, when we remember something, we remember the latest version of what we remember. And so then does our brain then start to think that we were actually there?
Starting point is 00:58:17 And that's what it's registering. Yeah. This is so meta in my, you know. So I don't think I saw it in theater. But I might have had a dream that I did. I have subtle signs that you're spiraling. Are you spiraling right now? My brain just like, it's like that meme of all the math equations.
Starting point is 00:58:41 That's what just happened to me when you were talking. Okay. Well, before we go into the subtle signs that you might be spiraling, we can honor Florence Nightingale and all the nurses out there. Okay. She is considered the founder of modern nursing and a pioneer in hospital sanitation. Thank you for that, Florence Nightingale. evidence-based care and statistical analysis and medicine.
Starting point is 00:59:05 Her work during the, I don't even know this war, do you? No. Crimean, crime, crime, crimen war established the fundamental principles of infection control. In 1860, she founded the Nightingale Training School for nurses at St. Thomas Hospital in London, elevating nurses from a non-educated domestic role to respectable train that's scientific profession. That's the modern of it. officially this is a profession, not just a woman. Taking care of somebody.
Starting point is 00:59:35 I was going to say, as you were reading this, like, doing all this in like 1860, women didn't have a lot of jobs. Jobs or rights or like say. So it's kind of crazy that she was able to do all this. Like, it's crazy that people were listening to her even, you know? So there needs to be a movie on her if there's not. Maybe there is. Surely there is.
Starting point is 00:59:58 Or at least there's a book or something. I'm sure there's a lot. I want it to be a, I don't want a documentary on her. I want to watch like a, I want a true story, but it be a movie, movie. Yeah. I'm also thinking of all the nurses. I am Mercy Ships ambassador. I'm thinking all the nurses aboard the mercy ships.
Starting point is 01:00:15 They're all volunteers. No way. They show up. They get, go aboard and they're volunteering their time. They're not paid staff. So shout out to nurses. And sometimes when I post about them, I'll get comments from people. They're like, oh my gosh, my mom was a nurse on mercy ships.
Starting point is 01:00:34 Or my mom, not even a nurse, maybe they worked in the cafeteria. And I'm always like, oh, small world. Because those ships are far away. They're not. In her backyard? No. They're like in Sierra Leone or something. So all nurses, those that have, even when I think of my parents when they were in the hospital,
Starting point is 01:00:53 like the nurses had to do some tough stuff. And you spend more time with the nurses than you were a doctor. ever. Yeah. And they really have to care for you on such a deeper level. And then they have to go home to their normal lives after seeing everything that they see every day. So shout out. Settle signs, you're actually spiraling. This is from Carrie Howard. She's a therapist for anxious overthinkers. I'm going to relate to everything you say. And it's going to remind me of stroller gate. Okay. I'll just run through them real quick. Settle signs you should look out for that might equal, you are spiraling. You feel a sense of urgency to figure it out right now. Your thoughts are
Starting point is 01:01:33 circling, not solving. You keep looking for reassurance, but it's not sticking. Your body feels tense, restless, and on high alert. You're procrastinating, zoning out or avoiding something. You're thinking in absolutes like always, never, worse case. You keep over analyzing and second guessing yourself. And you're trying to think your way out instead of feeling what's there. Just subtle signs. Yeah. Settles signs. Like, I think you're good on the zombie apocalypse.
Starting point is 01:02:00 Like, I don't think you need to wear glasses or worry about. I think I can be, I'll always have a pair of glasses in reach. I can grab them. I don't have to keep them on my face. Yeah. Just your little go bag. But you don't need to worry about it. And I'll put the bear spray in the go bag.
Starting point is 01:02:14 I went the bear spray on my nightstand. Well, the go bag will be wherever I am. I saw a funny video. Kat, who's the funny girl on Instagram? Kat Ziegler. cat, you know, she was rumored to be dating John Mayer for a little bit. She's got brown hair. She's so funny. I don't know her. Sikler. Sickler. Oh, oh, oh. Yeah. Cat, Stickler. Stickler. She's so funny. She's Is it curly hair? No, black.
Starting point is 01:02:41 Oh, okay. I heard you say curly. Are you spiraling? Yeah. So she did a funny video of she got her cute little purse and how she's like, they say keep mace in your purse in case you get attacked. And then she starts digging through her bag and she pulls out like her sunglasses and like gum and then like lipstick. And then she's like, hold one second. Like she's talking to the attacker because she's digging in her bag for the mace.
Starting point is 01:03:04 And I'm like, oh yeah, that's such a good point. Will we even be able to find it? Yes. Like we're going to have the bear. spray in our bag, but yeah, I think bear spray would be easier to find because it's like a bigger can. Sure. That's like a can. Okay. All right. Let's close with a funny voice smell that we got about walking in on your parents just to put a bow on this week's episode and tie it back to last weeks as well. We love hearing how you all relate to stuff that we talk about. This is from Elda,
Starting point is 01:03:33 from Huddo, Texas. Here it is. Hi there. My name is Elda and I'm calling from Huddo, Texas. I wanted just to call because you all had me cracking up when Amy was sharing her little parents' extracurricular activities. Basically, I have that same vision in my head that has been with me since I was 10. But the funny part for me is that I walked up to my parents' room and the door was closed, but the door was not locked, walked in, saw the same thing, same position, unfortunately, and was so shocked that I just turned around and walked away and I can still see my brother coming towards me, going towards the door as well, and I did not say a word to him. So we share that terrifying sight, childhood trauma, and we joke about it now. But anyway, I wanted to share because you are not alone, Amy.
Starting point is 01:04:31 I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. Love you guys. Love hearing you all. Thank you for all the inspiration and amazing that you both are. I appreciate you all. Thank you. Have a great day. Bye-bye. Thank you, Elda.
Starting point is 01:04:47 Yeah. I mean, she didn't even, she didn't even warn her brother. Was she shocked or is she like, if I had to see it, you have to see it. Right. If I go down, you go down. We're having this memory together, this nightmare. I mean, I would, maybe it would be a little bit of. both. I think at that age, though, she probably was just like, I don't even know how to tell you
Starting point is 01:05:05 what you're about to witness. Like, I don't want to talk about it. Right. So I'm just going to keep walking. Like that's your problem now. Like I've, what time of day was it that both the kids are going to the parents? It can be morning. Morning. I would imagine morning. Yeah. Or night. I don't know. This is something as a parent I really have to figure out. No, we know. Yeah. We're definitely not alone. And I love how she ended it. She was like, thanks for all the inspiration or like green peas and watches. Have you heard of them? So thank you all for the emails. We have more regarding these subjects.
Starting point is 01:05:44 So that's how we know the glasses and the extracurricular activities resonated with y'all. So we love hearing from you. You can email us, hey there at feeling thingspodcast.com. And you can also call us 877-207-2077. You can send in relatable stories. You can send in your own insight thoughts, a different perspective. We love seeing things differently if you have different thoughts on green peas. We'll entertain it.
Starting point is 01:06:11 Also, if you have questions for us, we can answer questions giving me from a layman's place. Kat is an actual licensed therapist, although there's a caveat there. We don't know everything that's going on in your life. So take it with a grain of salt. still she's legit like she has letters after her name what are your letters by the way LPC M H nope LPC LPC LPC are you forgetting spirally cat's a licensed therapist you can do it LPC MHSP okay LPC MHSP I had a dyslexic moment I was like is it the S or the H we got there she's legit though trust me she went to
Starting point is 01:06:58 belt. Trust me. I know what my letters are. Well, also, yeah, I mean, I've seen, I've seen your office. You're legit. You have actual patience. I have a job. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So wherever you are, whatever you're doing today, we hope you have the day. You need to have. Bye. Bye. There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. People wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder take place by Crevette and DePippo. Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse, appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum. I said, I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grief.
