Starting point is 00:03:18 We're super excited. The Raging Idiots opening for Garth. There's never been a bill like that in history of music. Literally, it'll never be another one because it'll never allow us to open again. But what we're going to do is heading into this. A couple questions, do you think Garth comes out during the Raging Idiots set? Okay. Yes or no?
Starting point is 00:03:36 Yes. Oh, I hope so. I say yes. I say no. Yeah, but you don't like to get your hopes up. And I don't want the pressure. Of what? The goat standing next to you?
Starting point is 00:03:47 Well, we've sang with them before, but we're saying his song. If he comes out during one of our songs, he used to know the words. Otherwise, he's just coming out to be applauded. How hard is it? Hobby, Lobby, Bobby. I agree. Hopefully he's been studying up. So, yes.
Starting point is 00:04:00 Yes. Yes. No. No chance, guys. When he goes out, like Bobby said, these are real artists that have real songs that people can sing to. If he went out there, he would know nothing about your music. Okay, will the raging idiots be brought out during Garth's
Starting point is 00:04:15 show? No. No. That'd be nice. Dream on. Dream on. You'd say yes. Yes. Yeah, I'm going to go a no again. I'm going to play one second of a Garthbrook song. Oh, goodness. See if you can name it. We'll go down the line. Amy, are you ready? Ready. Name it with one second. Thunder rolls. Thunder rolls is correct.
Starting point is 00:04:35 Good. Lunchbox. Ready. Name this one second of a Garth Brook song. Oh, we're not complaining him? Um, the dance. Correct. Good job, man. I'll give it to you three times.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Thank you. I was like, uh. I was letting you think about it first. Okay. Eddie, name one second of a Garth Brooks song. If tomorrow never comes. I don't need it again. You get three points if you don't need it again.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Oh, wow. I didn't need it again. I know you all get three points there. Yeah, we've got three points. We're making this super complicated. Who cares? Okay. It's Friday, baby.
Starting point is 00:05:07 Amy, name this Garthbrook song. Putting out through us. Colin Baton Rouge. Correct, three points. Lunchbox, name this Garthbrook's song. Want it again? No. Friends and love places.
Starting point is 00:05:23 Incorrect. Dang it! I wouldn't risk it. I would take the shot and get it again. Wait, can I get a second time? Yeah, one more time. Anybody know it? Yeah. That's summer, correct.
Starting point is 00:05:32 That summer. Take it. Teenage boy. See, I'm ready to go. So, fuck home. You're ready, dude. Y'all are gonna have so much fun! She was a lonely little woman.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Helmet to make it on her own. Okay. There was a difference in her laughter. We stop. We're like a softness in her touch. Here we go. Next up, Eddie, name this Garth Brooks song by one second of it. Rodeo.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Correct. Three points. Rodeo. Amy, name this Garth Brooks song. Just the other night at our hometown football game. Unanswer purse. Correct. Three points.
Starting point is 00:06:11 Wow. Who's keeping track? Because multiples of three. It's really hard. My idea is. Okay, good. Got it. No, you don't got it.
Starting point is 00:06:17 Yeah, they all have, you want me to tell you? Amy has nine. No, but I'm going to have the rest. I have three. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Lunchbox. Name this. Yeah, Papa Love Mama.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Incorrect. What? Why don't you ask for it again? Because I won three points. But again, you would have got two instead of zero. Give me two. No. Probably one more time.
Starting point is 00:06:37 No. I play it, but you can't get it. Anybody know it? Yes. Don't say it. Ain't going down if the sun comes up. Oh, I was thinking. Roll over nature.
Starting point is 00:06:43 Not a garb song, I like it. I know. All right? Amy, go. Wait, is it Eddie sure? I'll tell you. Eddie, go. Standing outside the fire.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Correct. Nine. Nine. Nine. Nine three. Good one. Amy, name this one. What's the name of this song?
Starting point is 00:07:07 Yeah, you got to say that. Yeah, I don't even know that I want to hear it again because I know it. Two is better than three. I mean zero. Okay, one more time. All right, here you. Shameless. Correct, two points.
Starting point is 00:07:21 See, lunchbox, that's what you could do. That's good. Yeah. Lunchbox, name this one. Yeah, here comes my comeback. I don't even hear it. What? You didn't hear it?
Starting point is 00:07:32 No. I'm too busy talking. Okay, let's play it again as the fresh and new. You hear that one? Yeah, I don't think that's a Garst Brooks song. What do you think it is? I don't know. That's a trick.
Starting point is 00:07:44 You guys are tricking me. I'm going to hear it the second time because I have no idea. Uh One more time Oh I meant Is this question But anyway Go ahead
Starting point is 00:07:56 Yeah that's three What is that negative one point I mean I did that That's not Left and right That's a freebie Yeah
Starting point is 00:08:01 The good life The good life No that's Kanye Hey Can you play the The whole intro up there From Hot Flux To make you feel my love
Starting point is 00:08:12 Yeah All right Eddie Name this one I'm gonna need to hear One more time This is just a guess Beaches of Cheyenne
Starting point is 00:08:22 Correct Oh, let's go. You guys are tied up. 1111. Lunchbox, you can't win. I'm going to kick you out of this. No, no, no, no. Because only have a couple left please to win.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Yeah. Okay. All right, guys. Here we go. There is one, two. There's four left. Come on. 12 through 16, Ray.
Starting point is 00:08:38 12, 13, 14. Yeah, and 16. They're getting harder, Amy. So you both get it. Ready? Write your answers down. Oh, you got it. You got it.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Here we go, Ray. Hit this one. One more time. Worth one point. I'm in. Amy? Black and white. Incorrect, Eddie?
Starting point is 00:09:00 Much too young. Correct. Here's that. Dang. I don't know. Yes. All right, next up, can you name this Garth song in one second? In. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Okay, Eddie's going to win this one. Dang, I don't. Eddie? What she's doing now. Correct. Eddie, next one. She's got real hard. Name this next one, Eddie.
Starting point is 00:09:28 Come on. Two of a kind. Working on a full house. Correct. And finally? Papa love. Mama. Let's go! You want to get him? He ran it.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Who is ready for Gar? You ready. You ready to go to the show. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nice job. All right, let's go. Let's start today's show. Let's go over and open up the mailbag. You send an email and we read it all the air. It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:56 Hello, Bobby Bones. I'll be attending the Garth Brooks show this weekend at Razorback Stadium. Cannot wait to watch you guys open up for Garth. I haven't been to a concert in almost four years, so I'm super excited. I love Garth Brooks. But my husband and I are having a debate that I was hoping you could settle. I want my husband to wear a matching Garth Brooks T-shirt to the show. Not only does he hate the idea of matching shirts, he says wearing the shirt of the artist who is playing is redundant. He says it's lame because, obviously, everyone knows we're there to see that artist.
Starting point is 00:10:28 But I think it'll be fun to have pictures and matching T-shirts from the concert. Are you team Matching Garth shirts Or team pick a new outfit From Kimberly M That's an interesting question you ask Because Caitlin and I are wearing Garth shirts, both of us
Starting point is 00:10:44 To the show on Saturday? Yeah We're obviously going to be wearing our stuff on stage But matching or just both Garth If we had matching We'd probably do that But I think for me it's not as much about matching It's wearing the artist to the show
Starting point is 00:10:58 Sure Matching is just a couple's thing You can decide if you want to do that because some couples don't want to match. I love matching. Caitlin doesn't sometimes. It's funny that you guys are going to wear those shirts on Saturday. So, can you wear the artist to the concert?
Starting point is 00:11:13 The answer, the easy answer is yes. It's absolutely yes, yes. Yes, yes. There's nothing wrong with it. You probably went forever to wear this shirt and actually feel like part of the crew. So yes, you can wear it. And if you want to match, absolutely. I'm on that team.
Starting point is 00:11:26 Amy? Yes, team matching shirts all the way. You can wear it. I know what I'm walking into, but I'm going to wait. Eddie, go ahead. Yeah, it's like wearing a jersey to the team that you're going to support at a football game. So, yes, absolutely, it's fine. Yeah, it's like, that's a great analogy because if you're at a home game for Arkansas,
Starting point is 00:11:45 and I wear an Arkansas gym, well, people know why I'm there. Right. No, they don't. Unless you're sitting in the other section, yeah. No, because there's people that buy tickets everywhere in arena. There's two teams there, so you've got to show which team you're there for. Everybody knows you're there for Garth. If you want to be team loser, team door.
Starting point is 00:11:57 This is what I knew we were getting into. Go ahead. be team made fun of. Wear the matching shirts. You, A, you shouldn't wear a Garth shirt to a Garth concert. Sit on that first. That is just dorky in its own right. You're right.
Starting point is 00:12:09 The husband is right. Everybody knows you are there to see Garth. What if they're going to see the raging idiots? That's not true either. No chance of that. No, that's not happening. So they know you're going to see Garth because people go to see the main act. So you don't need to wear a shirt saying, hey, I like Garth.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Everybody there likes Garth. then the fact that you're going to wear matching shirts absolutely not embarrassing get made fun of I love it wear what you want to wear whatever makes you feel's good feel good feels good whatever yeah exactly and the husband doesn't feel good matching he doesn't feel good wearing Garso so team new outfit
Starting point is 00:12:41 boom team if you make the wife happy life's gonna be easier too that's very true so I but I'm going to wear a Garth shirt and so is Caitlin for the actual show why that's embarrassing why because you can't I have some great Garth shirts Oh my gosh I mean I have some A plus
Starting point is 00:12:56 Garth shirts So there's three versus one. His opinion matters. Do you understand you're probably going to talk to Garth? And if you're wearing a Garth shirt when you're talking to Garth, how awkward that is? Like how much of a tool you look like? But I'm going to be that anyway. And I am who I am.
Starting point is 00:13:10 That's like Trisha Yearwood showing up to a Garth show in a gar shirt. She doesn't do that. That'd be cute. Yeah, and I bet Garth would wear a Trisha shirt. And I'm not denying him a tool. All right, well, as long as you're okay with that. Anybody, a tool? I'm as tool as it gets.
Starting point is 00:13:23 Let's be honest. Okay, wear your Garth shirts. Hope you have fun. We'll see you. We'll see you Saturday. Or tomorrow. Eddie and I are playing. We're very nervous.
Starting point is 00:13:29 And we hope people understand our jokes. Okay. That's the deal. And that's the mailbag. We've got your email and we've read it on your air. Now it's about to close Bobby's mail back. Yeah. Hey, it's Bobby Bones.
Starting point is 00:13:43 You can save over $500 on your car insurance with the general insurance. Take a closer look at The General and get quality insurance for less. Call 800 General or visit the General.com. The General Auto Insurance. Services Inc. and Insurance Agency, Nashville, Tennessee. Some restrictions apply. Fun Fact Friday. Our fun fact this week is from Skyler from Colorado. Here you go. If a statue of a person in the park on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle.
Starting point is 00:14:13 If the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle. If the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes. Thought it was a fun fact to share. Bye. My mind's blown. That's a really good one. Really cool.
Starting point is 00:14:29 No idea. Call us with your fun facts. 877-77 Bobby. Here's Amy's now. Number five. Take note, ladies. When a male llama tries to make a move on a female llama,
Starting point is 00:14:44 she'll spit on him if she's not feeling it. Same with Caitlin the first couple times. She spits on you? Yeah, right. I'm going to. Get out of here. Number four. This one I want to try.
Starting point is 00:14:53 Putting salt on pineapple will make it taste sweeter. The salt reduces the pineapple's acidity, decreasing the sourness, so it tastes sweeter. Oh, it's a bit counterintuitive. Yeah. I feel like salt makes it salty, savory. I want to try that. I like salt on a watermelon, but it doesn't make it sweeter. It just kind of gives it like a full flavor.
Starting point is 00:15:12 But salt on a pineapple, that's interesting. Number three. Shaquille O'Neal, he only made one three-point shot during his entire NBA career. Only one? just one. I mean, he never He was terrible. He never shot him.
Starting point is 00:15:27 He couldn't make a free throw either. Well, he attempted a total of 22 in his career. What's that one year? I only made one, which is kind of crazy. It was against the Milwaukee Bucks. He probably flipped out too.
Starting point is 00:15:40 It was a turnaround jumper and a buzzer beater. So I actually have a clip of the buzzer beater. Check the catch. He's going to fire a three. A three is a buzzer. That's nice.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Number two. Dang, the Chinese government owns nearly all the giant pandas in American zoos. We rent them for like a million dollars a year. Per panda? Yeah, we rent them from China so that we can have them here. There aren't that many. I think there's like a handful of zoos that have pandas. A million bucks of panda.
Starting point is 00:16:14 That's the business we need to get into right there. It's a million dollars a year to rent the pandas. So every year that adds up. It's really a business we need to get into. Number one. This story is going to make you want to read the fine print on things. because in 2019, a Georgia teacher purchased a $400 travel insurance policy, and she was rewarded $10,000 simply because she read the fine print on page 7 that said,
Starting point is 00:16:38 hey, we got a Pays to Read contest going on. If you're reading this right now and you're the first person to contact us and let us know, you win $10,000. She was the first person to catch it, so she actually won. Like, they just realized no one was reading their contracts. I would not want anyone to read my contract if I was making. in a contractor, a fine print. I'd be fine for a reason, actually.
Starting point is 00:16:59 Yeah, but hey, you never know what you could be missing out on. Yeah, I'm not reading the fine print, though, still. Do you read all, like, when you're buying a house? Do you read any of that? I was like, say yes, say yes. I don't need that. In case people are listening. I read everything.
Starting point is 00:17:10 I don't read dang things. Just point out of the line. I'll sign it. So true. Just point out the line. Fun fact Friday. Bobby Bonsh! The latest from Nashville and Hollywood.
Starting point is 00:17:20 Morgan number two's 32nd Skinny. The Colmes announced a new album coming out on June 24th called Growing Up. Today, he released a new song called Tomorrow Me. So maybe we should let yesterday be, because I got to live with. Brett Eldridge released a new song called Songs About You. I'm just trying to get through these songs about me. Carrie Underwood released a new song called Crazy Angels from her upcoming album,
Starting point is 00:18:00 Denham and Rhinestones. And Jason Aldine's Georgia album is out today. I'm Morgan number two. That's your skinny. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So this girl, Riley, her dog Rip, disappeared from her yard last week.
Starting point is 00:18:27 She couldn't find him anywhere. So she started posting on social media, spreading the word throughout the community. And then this local bartender, Riley, was like, huh, I've seen a black German shepherd. Actually, just last night. At the bar. A couple brought the dog into the bar. So he contacted local police. They pulled surveillance footage from the bar that night. They started to investigate and spread word to try to figure out who this couple was. They found them. The police went, got the German Shepherd back.
Starting point is 00:18:59 At the bar. Yeah, they say it took a lot to make this happen. First, social media, then the community. It took a village. The police, just everybody rallying together to find out the couple that had the dog. You steal it and you just take it out like that? Yeah, I don't know if it was, like, stolen. I mean, I like to think that maybe the dog got out and this couple found the dog. Can you take it to the bar, though? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:19:20 Risky. A dog walks into a bar. Okay. Just write this? The dog says, give me a beer. The bartender says, wow, you can talk? You should get a job at the circus. The dog says, nah, they're not comedians at the circus.
Starting point is 00:19:33 What? I don't know. Did you just write that? No. I just look at a dog in bar jokes. Okay. A dog walks into a bar. bar. The bartender nods and says,
Starting point is 00:19:43 Hey dog, haven't seen you in a while. How are things going? The dog looks at him sadly and replies, rough. Okay, okay. That one worse. Yeah. A dog walks into a bar and says, bartender, give me a jack and coke. Sure thing, but what's
Starting point is 00:19:59 with the small paws? Asked the bartender. Oh, got it. Pause. A pause. Ah, pause. No, I didn't write those. There you go. Amy, good story. Glad the dog is back. That's what it's all about.

Your daughter's birthday is this weekend? Yes. And so what are you guys doing?
Starting point is 00:25:29 Technically, it's Monday, but we're having the party this weekend and she wants an all-girl's swim party. So no boys. What does a 15-year-old want as a gift? Oh, she wants an Apple Watch, but she's not getting her that. What about because back in the day she wanted the mini-fridge and you also didn't get her that? It seems like every year she wants something and doesn't get it. Oh, that has reappeared on the list, mini-fridge.
Starting point is 00:25:52 Why can't she have a mini-fridge in her room? She's 15. Because there's a refrigerator right downstairs, and if she has a fridge in her room, we won't see her. Well, there's also a sink downstairs, and there's also probably a bathroom near her room. Yeah. But what does she need in her mini fridge? Like what? Dr. Water, just the ability to have one.
Starting point is 00:26:12 Okay. Like have your own space. Are you saying I should reconsider? I just don't think there's anything wrong with a mini fridge for a 15 year old. It's not like if someone struggles with giving someone social media. Nobody can contact her through the mini fridge. Right. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:26:26 I mean, maybe I need to loosen up about this. But like she just got the iPhone for Christmas. And now that she has a phone, she's able to take pictures. and every teenager she sees with an Apple Watch, she takes a picture of their wrist and sends it to me. And you're not getting her an Apple Watch? No, I just feel like you just got a phone a few months ago. Then you have to give her the mini fridge
Starting point is 00:26:45 if you're not giving her the Apple Watch. You have to, because they're not even in the same category. A mini fridge is, you don't want her to have the Apple Watch, why? Because she can communicate openly with folks. I just feel like it's another, Sharedi has the phone. Like, why do you need all these different ways to communicate with people? Do you have an Apple Watch? I have one, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:00 Yeah, why you started it there? Do you have a fridge? Do you need all these ways to communicate with people? So I'm, it tracks my stuff. Yeah, she's struggling. I'm 41 and I bought it for myself. You don't have to get her one. You don't have to get a one.
Starting point is 00:27:11 I just feel like your logic's a little flawed on why she can't have it. Because she doesn't want it for, to tell time. She wants to. And you do. You want it to tell time. Yeah. Yeah. You already have her, don't say what it is.
Starting point is 00:27:23 Do you have her gift? Yeah. Okay. And it's even more special. I'm making her birthday cake from scratch. Okay. That's cool, but it ain't a many. fridge and it definitely and an Apple Watch.
Starting point is 00:27:35 Get her the mini fridge. That's what I say. I beg of you. You say what you say? You say what you say? I will get her the mini fridge. If she can have it. Don't do that, but I'm asking first. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Say no to me. If anyone gets her the fridge, it's going to be me. Okay. She's already been asking other people for the fridge. Then get her mini fridge. I think that's the move. Then she'll not be hurt by not getting the Apple Watch, which is understandable. True. Okay. I can't avoid a lot of, yeah, You're right.
Starting point is 00:28:04 She's 15. Leave it there. Let us know what happens. Abby, by the way, has a question. She's our phone screener. Brett Eldridge is going to be on a Monday show. Abby, what do you think? You want to ask Brett a question when he comes in.
Starting point is 00:28:15 What do you want to know? I want to know how he is still single. I feel like everybody wants to know that. Have you seen him? Okay. So he's going to say this to him? Yes. I'm embarrassed.
Starting point is 00:28:26 I'm not going to say it. You have to say it to him Monday. Okay. Lunchbox, yes. You're going to let her hit on an artist. I think it's a question Did you hear her? Are you gonna present it like you're in heat
Starting point is 00:28:38 Like you are now? No Exactly That's what I made you hear her She was like Oh my God Have you seen him? Have you seen him?
Starting point is 00:28:48 Don't listen to them Hey though you know what Have you let her answer Ask that question though You might have to let Lunchbox ask Any female artists a question like that No I don't Because I think most people ask Brett
Starting point is 00:28:59 That same question They just don't know how to get it to him Okay. So I will let you ask that question, but you can't be breathy and over the top. I will not be weird. Okay. I'll be fine. Monday, I'll give you that.
Starting point is 00:29:11 This is Ashley from Missouri. I just wanted to call and say that was so nice of you to let Garth Brooks open up for you on Saturday night. We're coming. I was just calling to see if you knew what time that you all would be going on Saturday night. I think that would be a funny joke if Garth was actually playing before us. Yeah. I mean, we're opening for Garth. tomorrow night and we go on before him
Starting point is 00:29:33 and I don't know what time we go on. I was told somewhere between... I was told somewhere around 7.7.30. So 7. We'll just say 7. 7's good. Okay. Seven sounds like it's the deal. I appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:29:48 We'll see you tomorrow night. All right, here is Rowan. I just wanted to ask how Amy's fish is doing. Is your fish still alive? Alive and well. Okay. I was waiting for Ann Well. All right. Next up, here is
Starting point is 00:30:02 Peyton from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. I have a morning corny for Amy. What do you call a crow wearing a cowboy hat? A yee car. A yee car. Ca. Spring is here, which means it's time to take advantage of the Home Depot low price guarantee. If you find a lower price on the same product from one of our competitors, we'll match it.
Starting point is 00:30:27 The Home Depot. How Doers Get More Done. Here's Amy's pile of stories. This year's brand intimacy study was released, which is a study that ranks brands based on strictly emotion. Like if we feel like we love them. Yes, like what are you just emotionally tied to? Yeah, it makes sweet love to apple.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Sweet love. That's number three. Oh, really? Yeah. Okay, okay, okay. What would I do even worse than with what product? Hershey. Hersch. You know what? Good point.
Starting point is 00:31:02 All right, what else you got? Okay, I'll go over the top five. YouTube is five, Sony at four. That must be because of the... PlayStation? Yeah, I'm thinking. Oh, yeah, maybe. I would have said that's five and yep, I'm doing wild stuff right now. Then Apple. I'm bound in leather.
Starting point is 00:31:20 Tesla at two. And Disney at number one. Too old and not kids. No kids. I feel like Disney makes sense, though. It's emotion. This is what it's all about. Again, I never watched Disney movies as a kid. Where my emotion is what Disney is, they own ABC and they've paid me a lot. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:37 So that's nice. But there's also Disney the Parks. I've done some stuff for some money. And all kinds of things. And then Netflix cracked into the top 10 this year. They weren't even in it last year. I have a bit of bad news. This is like telling me something bad.
Starting point is 00:31:52 A guy was at the dentist and he already had anxiety going into it. He's 60s. years old. He was getting something removed so the dentist had a drill bit and he took a breath when it happened and a piece of the drill bit he inhaled it. So it's not that he swallowed it. He inhaled it
Starting point is 00:32:10 so that means it ended up in his lungs. They were able to retrieve it but this is just a reminder to floss and brush your teeth so you don't want to have extreme dental work done and this doesn't happen. That's an interesting. No no no. We're not putting this on him for not flossing. I can't.
Starting point is 00:32:26 I can't put it on him for not flossing. It's not his fault. I think it was a cavity situation. Okay, again, this is not his. Bits just don't fall in people's lungs. The cavity is his fault. Yeah. The metal in his lung is not.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Right. So, you sue or not sue? Well. It's accidental. I think it's handled to where I don't have to sue. Free dental care for the rest of your lives. Possibly. You're already 60.
Starting point is 00:32:51 Oh, wow. Probably need it more than. And there's a difference too in swallowing and inhaling because it goes into different parts, which is crazy. All right, go ahead. And lastly, Dolly Parton shared the worst advice that she ever got. And that was to stop dressing like trash. And she said, no, this is who I am.
Starting point is 00:33:08 I'm going to do it. I love going over the top. It represents me and who I am. So she didn't listen to the advice, thank goodness. You like the trash? No. She's like dolly's. Dolly's style.
Starting point is 00:33:18 It's her signature. I don't even think she dresses like trash. Oh, me back then. Yeah, me neither. It was her words. I'm Amy. That's my pile. That was Amy's pile of.
Starting point is 00:33:27 stories. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Tell me something good. Welcome to Jackie's quest. One woman, one leg, 102 marathons, and 102 days. That's right. Jackie lost her left leg to cancer below the knee. So she got a prosthetic. She started running and wanted to inspire others. And so she has run 92 marathons in 92 days on her way to 102 and 102 to set a world record. I think I would be inspired by anyone doing that many marathon.
Starting point is 00:34:01 Let me be honest. One marathon. I'm inspired. Amy's done a marathon. Yes, just one. Just one. You know what? I'm inspired.
Starting point is 00:34:08 Okay, thanks. She has two legs. I'll never do it again. However, she went through cancer, a prosthetic leg, and she's done 92. In 92 days. How does your body mean, I don't even know how your body doesn't break down? I don't know. Without a day.
Starting point is 00:34:21 I mean, if I work out three days in a row period, I'm like, oh, doctor's this shouldn't go. My muscle fibers are breaking down. But she's done 92 and 92 days. Great. That's inspiration. That is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Let's do an update. There's a car parked in front of Lunchbox's house on the street. It's been broken down.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Lunchbox went to the neighbor and said, hey, would you mind moving your car? He said, I'll do it right away. Yeah, I'll come knock on your door tomorrow. He didn't do it. No. So, listener was like, why didn't Lunchbox have the car to be? then. Is he a sissy boy? I think is what they called you.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Sissy boy is exactly what he called me and I'm not a sissy boy. That's one thing we know. So you asked him, then he didn't do it. And so it just sits there. Sits there. What's the update? So I'm out walking the dog, right? And we're in this area where there's restaurants and bars and he comes walking out with a girl. And so just boom, happenstance because he'd been dodging me because I'd been knocking on the door and he wouldn't answer. And I'm like, hey man, how's it going? Oh, good, good. And I'm like, hey, you know, you said you were going to come knock on my door and we were going to move it the next day. That's been weeks ago.
Starting point is 00:35:28 What's going on? And you guys will never believe what he told me. What his excuse was? What? He said, man, I know this is going to sound crazy, but the very next day, my key fell off my key ring. I can't find it. Yeah, that's ridiculous. So the very next day, the key happened to somehow, I mean, how many times has your key ever fallen off your key ring? None. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:35:51 So did you accept that? I said, really? Many. He goes, I know, I know. It's so. so hard to believe that that's happened, but I promise you that's what happened. I was like, dude, there's no way that happened, but, okay, so when are you getting a new key? Oh man, I'm working on it. I'm working on. I'll get a new key within the next week. Did you get him a deadline? He said a week. So we got one week. Okay, one week from today. Today is Friday. By next Friday, if the car is not moved, what are you going to do? Oh, we're going to just get a towed. You're going to tow it. Yeah. There's no more this messing around. Oh, the key fell
Starting point is 00:36:21 off the key ring? Like, you have to come up with a better excuse than that. He's on the clock seven days. Or will lunchbox be a sissy boy again? Well, I think it's convenient that the first time we heard about this, there was audio and lunchbox sounded like a sissy boy. But he ran into him. But now in public. I didn't have your phone with you, which you recorded the first audio. Right, right. So happened to not have your phone. I literally knocked on his door the first time. This time, I just happened to see him in public. I had my phone every time I go knock on the door and he doesn't answer. But I'm out walking the dog. I don't know I'm going to run into him. Maybe before you tell him you knock and
Starting point is 00:36:51 You tell him you're going to tell him. And then you record it. And then run. And see if a cissy boy comes back out again. Okay, so you have one week. One week. Thank you for the update. Now, do you believe him that it's key for him?
Starting point is 00:37:01 No, but whatever. No, but if I were you, I'd be so scared to tell him because he's going to know it's you, and I just don't want to do that. He's not. I'm not a cissy boy. That's right. I'm a man. You know what it is not.
Starting point is 00:37:11 That's right. So, Al Dean's coming in just a few minutes, but first, the morning corny. The morning corny. I had a date last night. It was perfect. Okay. Tonight, I'll try a grape. What?
Starting point is 00:37:28 Oh, a date. No, it took me a second. It took you a second because it's... That was the morning corny. Got you. Can you explain it to me? I don't know. A date.
Starting point is 00:37:39 Did you eat a date? It's a fruit. Last night I had a date. It was perfect. Right. It's not... Oh, it was perfect. And then tonight I'll try a grape.
Starting point is 00:37:47 Yeah, I thought the perfect was the punchline. Anyway, Al Dane's coming in next. Okay. The Friday morning conversation with Jason L. Dean. How you doing, buddy? Good, man. How are you? I'm doing pretty good. You know, you've been the subject of a couple of conversations lately,
Starting point is 00:38:01 mostly because Eddie saw you in Chuckie Cheese. And he was like, I didn't think Jason would be in Chuckie Cheese, but you were. Yeah, well, when the kids are screaming in the back seat, when you pass by and they're like screaming telling you to pull over, sometimes you just got to make a pit stop, you know what I mean? So is Chuckie Cheese a pit stop place or is Chuckie Cheese a destination for a Saturday? I don't know. I think it's just kind of like something we do for them every now and then, like just to, you know, get them out and have fun. I mean, there's some different stuff we do.
Starting point is 00:38:29 We tend to the trampoline park, the zoo, sometimes Chuck each, whatever it is, you know, just to kind of get them out and have some fun. Do you feel like in places like that people are just confused where they're like, that probably is Jason out there? But there's no way he would be at the trampoline park. I don't know, man. I mean, you know. Even Eddie was confused. I was. And we were like, Eddie, you know him.
Starting point is 00:38:48 I had asked my wife. I'm like, help me out here. Is that Jason Aldeen? Because I'm pretty sure it is. She's like, yeah. Man, you know, we got kids. We got to do kids stuff. Right.
Starting point is 00:38:56 When you walk into a place and you buy tokens or you give somebody a credit card normally, I just wonder what it's like being like a real life celebrity where does your credit card have your name on it? You know, my last name is actually not. Al Dean's my middle name. But Jason's on there. Yeah, Jason's on there. Is Al Dean, is your middle name on there as part of that? No.
Starting point is 00:39:13 And do they go, Jason? Dang, that looks like it. Because I would just think you have such a dynamic stage look. and then you're kind of one of us when you're not on stage, except for that really expensive watch. Other than that, you're like us right now. You know, you're just a dude. I would think people would just be confused.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Like, I think that's, but I'm not sure. I mean, I think because I look a little different than I do on stage, you know, typically if I'm not on stage, I got a baseball cap on or whatever. So I think a lot of times people kind of do a little bit of a double take. But I think my wife is one that kind of a lot of times they'll look at me and then, I think that's him. And then they'll look at Britt and go, well, that's definitely her. That's, yeah, that's who that is, you know.
Starting point is 00:39:51 And I think she's kind of, she kind of blows my cover a little bit. That happens now with Caitlin, because I'm such a generic white dude. Except for the glasses, you don't get any more generic than me. And they're like, oh, the guy that's really dorky who shouldn't have a wife that's that pretty and that's her. Same. They're like, that's the association. Yeah, and then they're like, oh, yeah. So, hey, congrats.
Starting point is 00:40:12 Another, another album, but this is a double album situation. So why put out so much music based? in the same period. Man, you know what? For me, this being the 10th studio album, we just kind of wanted to do something different that we haven't done before. And, you know, for the previous nine albums,
Starting point is 00:40:30 I feel like we've kind of covered a lot of the bases, you know. So it was trying to find something that we haven't done. And for me, that was a double album, a live album, or Greatest Hits. We've never done any of those things. So to me, being the 10th album, we just kind of want to do something different. and we figured that was kind of a way to
Starting point is 00:40:50 to sort of combine all those things. And anymore, I mean, the way people, you know, fans consume music, it's, you know, they want more music more often anymore. Used to, we put an album out and you drop another album a year, year and a half later. And now it's just like you drop an album, they're ready for something new in a few months. And so we decided to kind of stagger it out,
Starting point is 00:41:09 drop part of it a few months ago, and then wait and drop the other half now. And just to kind of help extend the life of the album. You know, the backside of the Georgia track list is live. You mentioned that I was going to get to that. And I want to play one of the live tracks in its entirety in just a second. But after you record it live, do you go back and go, man, I did that live? Dang.
Starting point is 00:41:31 I wish I wouldn't have done that. Or do you go, man, that's perfect, and just let it roll? Well, we didn't record these for the record. These were just things that, you know, we record basically all of our shows. So it wasn't recorded with the intention of being on the record. It was just kind of like, this is the way it went down, and this is what you're going to get. I think I'd go back in and re-sing them, though, with everything live, but everything else live, I'd like, pill me off.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Let me do this again in the studio. No, no, no, no. But that's why you're you and that's the beauty of it. I think that's the beauty of it. People that maybe haven't been to a show, it's like, you know, they're getting a real performance of what a real show's like. Well, what people don't know is this is actually a re-recorded version of me doing this interview with you. I came back in afterward and then layered me over it, so it sound perfect. Well, actually, it's not that far off.

The Friday morning conversation with Jason L. Dean. You know, you and Carrie put out if I didn't love you, and you hear the song, you're like, oh, cool, good song, get to be a number one. But did you, I mean, it is such a smash and is now up for every award. Was that the expectation when you guys got together to do the song?
Starting point is 00:47:04 Is that ever an expectation? Well, I mean, I don't know. I don't know that you can ever kind of predict what a song's going to do. But, you know, I think with this song, when I heard it, It was written by a couple of guys of my band, and then a new artist that were working with named John Morgan. And so when I heard it and decided to get her on it or try to get her on it, you know, I felt like if we could get her on it, it was, the song was already good. That would just kind of be kind of a cherry on top. And so, but again, I mean, you don't know until you get in the studio.
Starting point is 00:47:34 You start to see, like, how it all kind of meshes together. And I think once she started singing on it, we knew there was something pretty special about it. But again, I mean, you don't know until it gets out and people are listening to it, and you just never know what those songs are going to be, really. You may think you've got a big hit that's not. In some cases with me, that was something I thought was just okay that turned out to be a huge hit. But, yeah, this was a huge one. I think I got a text message from one of my reps the other day saying,
Starting point is 00:48:05 I think it had been in the top 10 for like 26 weeks or something, which is crazy. I've never had a song to do that. So it's been a big one. Yeah, and any award show that comes out now, I was like, and nominated for 72 awards, Jason and Kerry. And so, yeah, congratulations. Thank you, ma'am. So with, I indulge me for a second, because you bring up something interesting of all of the hits that you've had.
Starting point is 00:48:25 Which one, I'm going to do both. Which one did you hear or record and go, yeah, this one's going to be massive, and it was. And which one did you go, you want that as a single? I don't know if it's going to work. And then it was, and it did. Well, the one that I thought would be a big hit, I mean, we've had a couple. This was one of them, though. The duet was one that I really felt like was going to be something special.
Starting point is 00:48:49 So the one that I thought was kind of a head scratcher to me that I was like, really, we're going to go with that? And this was kind of early in my career where, you know, I was still kind of getting my legs under me as far as like, you know, what songs I was putting out. And a lot of times I would let a lot of the outside influence kind of help pick those singles. and it was Big Green Tractor was one that I just thought, man, this is kind of corny and cheese. It's not typically what I would do, but my producer kept saying, man, I'm telling you, this is big. David Lee Murphy was one of the writers on it.
Starting point is 00:49:25 And so I was just kind of like, all right, maybe I'm missing it, put it out. And to this day, it's like the longest number one that I've ever had. It was number one for four weeks, and I've never had another song to do that. So that's what I mean. Sometimes you may not think something's going to be big, but it turns out to be huge. you just never know. Do you play that song every night still?
Starting point is 00:49:43 Every night, Bobby. I feel like that is every night, but I wish it wasn't every night. Every night for the last 15 years. Because you got to give it to the people, and what's cool is you understand that, even though you would probably rather not. You do understand your fans are the reason that you're on that stage. Well, I love the song.
Starting point is 00:49:58 I mean, don't get me wrong. But you played it so many times. Right. I mean, I hear these songs in my sleep, I'm telling you. But, you know, on the other hand, it's like all those songs really were like a stepping stone for my career. They were all important at that particular point in time to kind of get us here. And so I always try to keep in mind like when I'm going to play a show, man,
Starting point is 00:50:19 maybe it's the first time these people are ever hearing this thing live. And you try to put yourself in that frame of mind. But that's the thing. If you're going to put a song out as a single and, you know, it becomes a hit. You better really like it because you're going to play it a lot. How do you play all 26 or maybe off by one or two, number one songs in a set? I don't know how you would do that. We don't.
Starting point is 00:50:38 You know, and that's the thing tricky. I'm actually in the middle of it right now is kind of putting the set list together for the new tour. And, you know, you try to put in maybe some things that we haven't played in the last year or two. And you try to incorporate those in. And now trying to incorporate some of the things off the double album, you know, the new album putting those songs in too. So it gets a little tricky. And ultimately, you just go in and try and put together a show you feel like is going to entertain people. And mainly the songs they want to, you know, they want to hear that you feel like they feel like they're.
Starting point is 00:51:09 want to hear and kind of go from there. You know, I mentioned all the number ones and all the success and awards, but I think, and if someone just was introduced to you, you are Jason Aldine, the country superstar, but, you know, I talk a lot and have written an entire book on failure and how important it is to learn. Like, if you look at your professional career and you look back at a failure that actually made you a better entertainer, a better performer, any of that. Like, what was that thing that didn't work out, or you're like, man, I'm going to,
Starting point is 00:51:39 I'm kind of glad they didn't work out because I learned from it. I would say when I got dropped from Capitol Records early on, I got signed to Capitol Records in about 2000, I think it was. And I was on the label for a year, never even recorded one song for them, and got dropped from the label. And so that was tough, man. It was like I'd spent, you know, I mean, that was the brass ring. That's what I was after, and to finally get that,
Starting point is 00:52:07 and to not even really get a chance to prove myself before I got dropped was just, I don't know, it did a lot. It was like it was sad, but it also kind of pissed me off a little bit. And to me, that was the thing that made me like really want to go out and kind of prove myself. And that's why when I got my next record deal offer, it was from Broken Bow Records, which was a little independent label. Really didn't even have any superstars. I mean, Craig Morgan was over there and was having some just starting to have a couple hits. I think Cherie Austin was over there at the time and had a hit or two, but they really didn't have a whole lot going on. And so, you know, I signed over there with no clue how that was going to work out,
Starting point is 00:52:51 but at least it was somebody willing to give me an opportunity. And I think for a long time, I sort of carried that chip on my shoulder to go out and really want to prove myself. So I would say that was the main thing. Why would you be signed? and I understand why you would get dropped if you had put out a single that didn't do well or you, but why would they sign you and then drop you before giving you a legitimate chance? Well, so I signed over there. The head of the label was a guy named Pat Quigley.
Starting point is 00:53:22 And so when they signed me. And so literally before I could sign my deal, the new president came in, which is Mike Dungan, who was there now. and I've since talked to Mike, and we were great. Like, I love Mike. But he came in, and I just don't really think he got it. I don't think he was a believer in what I was doing at that time. And so I think he went ahead and signed the deal, but I don't think he was ever really a believer in it.
Starting point is 00:53:52 And so ultimately it just kind of fizzled out and went away. When you came to town, though, that was a bit of a jolt to the system. And, you know, on a much small level, like I understand. that because when I came here, people were like, what is this? I don't understand it. It ain't going to. And I kind of had to beat it into submission. And here you were, you look different, you sounded different. There was a little more of an edge. Did you get a lot of that? Like, I just don't get it. Yeah, I mean, I go back and listen to some of the stuff we were doing early on and as edgy as I thought it was at the time, I listened to it now and I'm like, it really wasn't.
Starting point is 00:54:27 But at the time it was. And so, you know, I think there was a little bit of that. I mean, we were we were different than anything else that was out at the time. And so, but I think the best thing could happen to me was like, I didn't, I didn't really know the rules. Like, you know, I didn't know there were rules. I didn't know you couldn't. I remember having earrings and that being a huge thing, earrings and a cowboy hat. And I'm like, really, I've had these since I was 17 years old. Like, it was that big a deal for me. But, um, if you don't know the rules, you don't play behind them. Yeah. And so, to me, it was just like, you know, you just kind of went along business as usual. and I don't think we really knew at the time that what we were doing was kind of, you know, changing the game a little bit.
Starting point is 00:55:07 With you having your own label now on Night Train Records, I would assume all of that that you've learned along the way, both failures and successes, like has made you a better head of a label? Yeah, I mean, I think so. I mean, I think it's just experience, you know? I mean, it's guys, I mean, with other artists that we have. just having them be prepared for things or if something pops up, it's like, you know, I'm sure that I've either gone through it or, you know, have witnessed it. So, you know, it's, I can talk to those guys on a level of like, okay, I've seen this before. I've been through this. This is what's going to happen. This is how you deal with it. You're not just an executive. Like you've actually, you are, but now you've done all of what they're doing. You've been through every single step up. So you can empathize more than just sympathize.
Starting point is 00:55:55 Yeah, absolutely, man. I mean, and, you know, I try to. be, you know, not only like kind of run the label, but label, but also, you know, produce those guys. And like, you know, a guy we're working with John Morgan, he's on this new America's songwriter contest show that's out right now, you know, he's representing North Carolina. And so, you know, having a talk with him, he's like, you know, I don't know, this is an opportunity we have, you know, what do you think and sitting down and talking to him about those kind of things. And, you know, it's just kind of been there, done that and can at least give some. You know, insight into whatever it is they got going on.
Starting point is 00:56:30 They got any good? He's great. I can't wait for you guys to hear him. Have we not? It's nothing now. He's got a song out. We released something last year just because we took him out on tour with us. It's called Coldest Beer in Town.
Starting point is 00:56:42 And we just wanted to have something out on him while he was out on tour with us for people to go get. But his big launch is coming this year. So he was a writer on the Carrie duet, and he's also a writer on the new song. We Got Trouble with a Heartbreak. Wow, look at this. You're in Everett.
Starting point is 00:56:58 thing, you know. I saw you. Trying to keep up with you, man. I'll see you everywhere. Hey, what do you think about my idea? Because I know you heard it. The award show, we got to change it up because writing's going down all the time everywhere. We got to do something to move people from, and don't you think if you're playing ski ball, it's just a terrible reference. But you're, and you're, if you, the more you win, the random fan or listener or gets money and the pressure's on you, I'm dialed into that as part of an award show. Don't you think people would be like, wow, Al Dene's going to play ski ball to somebody $5,000? I'm going to watch that in 15 minutes. Yeah, I mean, I don't know if that's the
Starting point is 00:57:32 ticket. It is. Trust me. It is. But I'm with you. Like, I think, obviously. We got to shake it up a little Yeah, I mean, award shows are kind of, you know, they're run the way they are. And it's present an award, a couple of performances. Another award. It's, you know, same old kind of thing. So I'm down to like change it up and do something different. I mean, I don't know if ski ball is the answer. But I'm open to it. How about? We put all these. games on a will, you land on it, then you got a skeet shoot, and every time you hit a skeet, they get money. Every time you miss, we hit you in the face with the pie. On TV, come on. Wow. Or you could spin a will, have a bunch of karaoke songs, spend a wheel, and the fan gets to
Starting point is 00:58:14 come up and sing with the artist? I've changed it. I've already changed your show. Your version, I've gone to the next channel. That's why you're on TV and I'm on radio, buddy. Do you ever go, I'm not assuming you go to a karaoke place, but will you get up and sing if the situation is right and be like yeah i'll do i'll do a little number yeah of course but i never sing my songs i think that's like super corny i agree yeah if you were to sing i feel like that's like the oh do you ever see someone sing your songs and they don't know you're there legit yeah i mean i've walked into clubs before and you know Broadway downtown and there's guys in there playing our songs and stuff and i think that's flattering honestly i think that you go
Starting point is 00:58:55 up? I'll talk to it maybe when they come off stage, but I'm not going to go jump on stage. I just would imagine if I was singing your song and you walked in, I would urinate. Right there, right in that moment, it'd be like, oh, no. The new album is out today. It's the second version of the album. This one is called Georgia. Obviously, your hometown and your home state are super important to you. Why has that remained such an integral part of your life? I just think for me, I mean, that's kind of where it all started for me. That's where I learned to play music. I mean, where I'm from is so rich in music history, the Alman brothers, Otis Redding, Little Richard, all those guys from there. And so, you know, it's where I learned to be a musician. I mean,
Starting point is 00:59:37 when I was 16 years old, there was a guy named Ronnie Hammond that used to be part of a band called Atlanta Rhythm Section. And he had an after-hours bar. And so when I was 16, all these guys would invite me to this after-hours bar to have a jam session. And, like, I mean, I learned how to be a musician. around all those guys. And so it was just a really important part of my career and how I learned to kind of do all this stuff. And it all kind of goes back to my hometown. I've been thinking about it. I think your idea is pretty good now. The karaoke. Yeah, I'm into it. Cool. We'll talk about it. It took me about four minutes to turn it. I think that's pretty good. I don't want the people to be a good singer, though. No. Right? It has to be somebody who... Well, some of us in the business
Starting point is 01:00:18 aren't even good singer, so it's going to work out great. Me included. No, that's not true at all. Jason Aldine is here right now He's got the new record The second version again is out today And when I talk about you in Brantley I saw the picture A redneck and a Rolex Rolex on a redneck
Starting point is 01:00:34 Which way is it? Rolex on a Redneck Yeah Is that a Rolex now? Yeah Thanks for bringing that up Come on You can't have a song
Starting point is 01:00:42 I normally wouldn't address it You come in You know who You wear cool stuff You know where this one came from actually Oh here we go Name Drop I love the name drop
Starting point is 01:00:50 I'm about to name drop Let me read on the back Let me read it so we know you're not messing with this. Okay, here we go. Is it Luke? Can I touch it? No, it's not Luke. Luke's too cheap.
Starting point is 01:00:58 Here we go. It says, To Jason from John F. Kennedy. Wow! No, it doesn't say, I'm kidding. It doesn't say that. He's dead for a while. It says Jason, Diamond, is that Garth?
Starting point is 01:01:11 Yeah. That's awesome. Yeah. Garth got you a Rolex? For what? Bones, keep it. Just so. So, Garth was, he was playing a show down, I think it was at Ascend,
Starting point is 01:01:21 downtown at the amphitheater and asked me to come out and just jump on stage with them to do a song and so I was like, okay, it's Garth. Hell yeah, I'm in. So I went down and then in the dressing room when I got there, there was this box of like a thank you
Starting point is 01:01:37 card for coming out. For one song? Yeah, dude. Garth is the best gift giver ever. Well, let me say this. I'd like to say a little something here, Jason. Tomorrow night, Garth is playing a stadium show in Fayville, Arkansas, Razorback Stadium. and Garth called me a few weeks ago
Starting point is 01:01:53 and was like, hey, would you come in open for the show? So we're opening tomorrow night for the stadium. And if there's not a Rolex, I'll be a little bit disappointed. See? You got to hold him to it.
Starting point is 01:02:03 I don't have Diamond celebration. He's got, he might have you a Rolex. A swat-watch. Well, I mean, yeah, it's true. You are opening on this. Oh, my gosh. They tour gifts, like different things
Starting point is 01:02:16 they give their opening acts. What are y'all going to get? Now there's an really unfair expectation that Jason has given us if we're playing for guard tomorrow. Hey, you're welcome. If you show up and there's one in there, though. I'm going to end with this here. At this point in your life and career, like what makes you happy now? You know, I think the fact that I've gotten to a point where I can still go out, I can make records, I can still go tour. but I've gotten to a point where I don't have to be on the road for, you know, 250, 200 days a year.
Starting point is 01:02:53 You know, I can kind of like tour for six months. And then I get to come home and be at home with my family and hang out and kind of find that balance that I don't think I ever really found early on or that was kind of impossible to find. You know, when you're out early on and you're trying to get your career going, it's like you're never home. So I think the fact that I'm at a point now where I can still do all the stuff. that I want to do professionally and really enjoy that stuff, but also bounce it out and have time at home to kind of be a dad and husband and all those things and make it all work together.
Starting point is 01:03:27 To me is a cool place to be that's nice for a change. Did you think you would enjoy balance when you were younger? I didn't know what balance was when I was younger. I had one speed and it was all out, you know. And then especially once, you know, the music thing happened, And then I finally had an opportunity to go out. It was like I wanted to, I was so scared of it going away that I just sort of like, you know, it was kind of all or nothing for me.
Starting point is 01:03:55 And so finally, I think over the last few years I've gotten to a point of like being able to kind of sit back and go, okay. You know, if I never had another hit tomorrow, I can still go play my shows forever. So it's, I think it finally clicked with me of like, you know, you're in a good spot and just, you know, enjoy it. The Rock and Roll Cowboy Tour, 34 Cities, Jason Aldine.com to get tickets. It's from July all the way to the end of October. But the reason he's here today is the new album is out. So it's there. The full release, going to do a three, like a three vinyl situation?
Starting point is 01:04:30 Yes, so after the second half drops, we're going to do a... Which is today? A vinyl set. Today, yeah, yeah, today. Sorry, I've been talking about it for weeks. But yeah, the vinyl is coming out. it's a, you know, three album vinyl set and really cool. And, you know, I love the fact that people are going back and listening to vinyl these days.
Starting point is 01:04:53 I think there's like a limited run of those, though. But it's really cool. I still love going back and listening to old vinyl records. And my dad's got a record player at his house still. I think it was the one from when I was a kid, actually. But, you know, the cracks and the pops to me, that's still the coolest way to listen to music. Well, I'm going to end on this note here, and I was saving it for the end in case it got awkward, but I'm pretty annoyed with you. Shocker.
Starting point is 01:05:21 Well, here's the situation. I just think you've had too much. You've had too much winning. The Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, it's enough. It's enough. Well. It's enough. I mean, I'm tired of it.
Starting point is 01:05:35 I'm tired of looking at your Instagram. It was one year. Yeah. It's a little too much too quick. It's been 40 years since Georgia's. one. Hey, come from Arkansas. So all I'm saying is, we waited. We had to wait for it too. It's a little too much.
Starting point is 01:05:48 Maybe you need a new team. Let's scale back to celebrate. Maybe you need a new team. Let's scale back to celebration. Listen, congratulations, man. Thank you. Just killing it. I'm going to play the new single now. But you guys, stream the crap out of it. Jason, you know, doesn't make a bad record. And we're going to do now, trouble with a heartbreak from Jason Ledy. And Jason, thanks for the time, man. Appreciate it, him.

Starting point is 01:10:17 His name is Lonnie Brown. And he's talking about how his property insurance has gone up, $2,000 a year. And you know why it goes up? Because they say the land you live on is worth more. And so with nothing happening, because there may have been a development in where you live, it just goes up. Like, you can literally do nothing, and all of a sudden your property insurance goes up. Which is a weird thing. And sometimes people have to move because of this.
Starting point is 01:10:40 And so Lonnie, again, elderly, not really able to work. He's like, I cannot afford this. The news is doing a story on this. And the story's on and people are calling going, wow, this is crazy. How do we help? Two people in particular reached out. And so here is the station's investigative reporter, meeting up with him and another guy who had the same problem
Starting point is 01:11:00 and presenting each of them with a check from these viewers who saw the story and sent it in. I am without words like just this dropping in my lap. is overwhelming. And I thank you, and I thank them. They're truly angels on earth. So Lonnie's going to be able to stay at his house. Wow, that's cool.
Starting point is 01:11:20 Which is pretty cool. Yeah, there you go. That is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. I want to go on the record and say before he shares this, I don't agree with why lunchbox is upset at a certain country artist. Okay. Don't say who it is first, but what happened?
Starting point is 01:11:36 Well, they were having an album release party, and so it said R-SVP. So I replied to the email, said, yeah, me plus four, I'll be there. Plus four. Who plus, who fives? You taking your kids? An exclusive, like, intimate RSVP party.
Starting point is 01:11:52 Right. My wife, my three kids. That's my plus four. And I said, is it plus four a thing, though, honestly? No. I've never heard of it. Okay, go ahead. Because it says there's going to be light bites
Starting point is 01:12:02 and beverages will be available. Bring, you know. Don't say you know. What does it say? It doesn't say bring. bring anything. It just says RSVP, join us as we take the journey through this new album that's releasing
Starting point is 01:12:15 on this certain date. I was like, great. Family affair, let's go. Got rejected. So I am now boycotting this artist. So, do they respond to you? Yeah, I said, sorry, we can't accommodate plus four. Which I think is completely
Starting point is 01:12:31 understandable. No. Now do you want me to get to the nitty-gritty of it? Yes. What's that? The reason is the title of the album is All In. Obviously it's not All In because they all couldn't get in. So it's like Some of you can get... You think he named
Starting point is 01:12:47 the album about how many people can get into his release party? Do you guys know what artist it is? No. By all in, I think I know who it is. Who is it? Jansen. Chris Jansen, yes. The song you may know from Chris. He's Okay, so what happens now? So now I just am not supporting Chris Jansen. I can't listen to his music. We have a beef because when you say
Starting point is 01:13:07 all in, that means everybody can get in. I email and it says, no, sorry, only some people can get in, obviously. Well, I said your album's called All In. We got no response. You're holding his album title against this? Well, it says, we're going all in. So what would you like me to do with this boycott? So I would like you to join with me. We don't play his music. We can't talk about Chris Jansen until we get an apology. And what would you like that apology to be in the form of?
Starting point is 01:13:31 Just be like, maybe we should have been more clear and saying when we titled our album All In, we didn't mean. everybody could come to the party. What if someone wants to go to his concert and like, it's sold out. And like, well, no, no, no. You said it all in. Exactly. That's why it's a misleading album title.
Starting point is 01:13:47 Do you want him to call or call you personally? I mean, he could call and just leave a voicemail. You don't want to talk to him because you're scared. Yeah, because I'm boycott. Well, he can call me anytime. Oh. And just, you know, explain, you know, his... How about this?
Starting point is 01:14:01 I'll bring him into the studio. Okay. And he can perform. Well, no, no, no. Say it to his family. will promote his album. No, no, no, no. He can't perform until he apologizes.
Starting point is 01:14:10 Scoobick, is he coming in anytime soon? Yes, I think I have him scheduled towards the end of the month. Okay. And if he doesn't apologize before then? Then he can't perform. So what if he comes in, apologizes, then performs immediately after that.
Starting point is 01:14:24 I don't think he needs to apologize, guys. I don't need an apology. I know. I'm not joining this boycott. I'm going to bring him in. So if he comes in and he's in your mind, boycott, are you leaving? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:33 Okay, bring him in tomorrow. Bring him in. But don't you think it was because... Did you specify that some of your four were, like, children? Yeah, I said me, my wife, and three kids. That's even worse. Your kids are how old? Three, two, and six months.
Starting point is 01:14:48 They don't want that there? Exactly. Like, I think he had just said four, and it was like four of us from the show or four adults, it'd be fine. I'm not joining your boycott. Anyone want to join him his boycott? No, no. He's trying to take it and, like, feed his kids dinner there. That's the only reason he's going.
Starting point is 01:15:04 Thank you for small bites for small kids. Exactly. Yes. Thank you, Lunchbox. That's so dumb. The easiest trivia game in the whole wide world. Question number one, Amy. What actor plays Iron Man?
Starting point is 01:15:21 That's Robert Downey Jr. Yes. You don't have to get the first one right. I don't know why I couldn't think of it. You have your crown on, by the way. She's the champion. I was putting my crown on. The first time she's ever worn the easy.
Starting point is 01:15:31 Didn't start out too well with the defense of the crown. I would have thought of him. Lunchbox, what color is the Incredible Hulk? Green. Correct. Chadwick Bozeman. And rest in peace, played what Marvel superhero, Eddie? Black Panther?
Starting point is 01:15:43 Correct. Morgan, what streaming service is home of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Disney Plus. That's correct. That's the first round. Pretty easy. Cool. Nobody goes home. By the way, Vegas put out their odds for this season.
Starting point is 01:15:56 Eddie is the overwhelming favorite to get the crown back. Amy second, lunchbox at 8 to 1 odds, and Morgan at 40 to 1 odds. Oh, no. Meaning if you bet $1 and Morgan wins the whole thing, you win $40. Yeah, you're a major underdog. I love it. Go Morgan. We love the underdogs. Yeah?

Starting point is 01:22:37 She gets everything. Crazy. That's it right there. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Congratulations. On the phone is Allison in Iowa.
Starting point is 01:22:48 Alison, what's going on? I think it was a couple of weeks ago. I heard a segment about Chris Stapleton wrote a lot of these songs for other artists and you played a clip of, I think, him playing Your Man by Josh Turner. And I was just curious how that works with artists, like when they decide to sing a song themselves
Starting point is 01:23:12 because I thought he was awesome on that song. Or I think Morgan Wallen does the same thing. When do they decide what songs they sing or they give to other artists and then they become huge hit? I think so everybody's different, but here's generally how it works. Like Chris Stapleton at the time when he wrote those songs, he was in what they call a publishing deal where he gets paid to write songs. So he was writing songs for the people because that was his everyday job, just writing songs. Now, some artists who are also really good songwriters will write songs pretty much all year long. but then when it comes to doing their project, they'll kind of go then, okay, I have to start writing for me and here's what I want to do and here's my.
Starting point is 01:23:52 And so they'll just dedicate that time now to writing for them. They could also occasionally save a song in the process, but mostly it's timing and it's if they write all the time, like a Tyler Hubbard from FGL. He writes on a lot of people's songs. I'd say he writes more songs for other people than he does for himself. But someone like a Dustin Lynch, if he's writing, you know, he's writing. you know he's writing for himself. So it depends on the artist, but mostly it's a time thing
Starting point is 01:24:16 and it's, you know, do I feel like this song represents me? If so, I'll keep it. If I just think it's a good song and could be for anybody, I'll ship it away and let somebody else have it. Interesting.
Starting point is 01:24:27 Am I happy with that answer or what? Yeah, make sense. I just thought he sounded so good on, I mean, I love Josh Turner, but I thought he sounded so good on that clip that you sent. And so I would love to hear him sing all those other songs
Starting point is 01:24:41 you mentioned that he wrote. At the time, I don't believe he had a record deal. So he could have kept a song, but he wouldn't have been able to put groceries on the table. So, you know, he was paid to be a songwriter. He didn't have a record deal. He was never going to cut the song. Josh Turner was killing it, so he gave him the song. You know, so, again, it's all timing.
Starting point is 01:25:01 Okay. All right. Well, she is so underwhelmed by. She didn't like that answer. All right, Allison, have a good day. Okay, thank you, guys. Bring us here, savor every moment with HelloFresh. HelloFresh's delicious options.
