Starting point is 00:01:52 dot edu slash military. It's a big show because Riba will be on later today. but let me say to all my friends here. Morning studio. Morning. All right, let's start with this. Lunchbox is bringing this and it has to do with three-year-olds
Starting point is 00:02:17 and a trophy. What happened? So my son played soccer for the first time and I was the coach and at the end of the season they gave us the option to order trophies.
Starting point is 00:02:25 I didn't even ask the other parents. I just said, no, we don't want the trophies. You know, I said, no. We only won one game. We don't need to have trophies. They're three years old. How many games you play?
Starting point is 00:02:35 Seven. And we got, we were terrible. We got beat all. But the three, right? Yeah, yeah, we got crushed every game. I mean, like 25 to nothing. Oh, wow. It was bad.
Starting point is 00:02:44 Is that a coaching issue, you think? No, it was a kid issue because, I mean, sometimes you're supposed to have five kids on the field. We'd have two. But why would you only have two? They'd just run off. They just run off. But the other team's kids wouldn't run off? Nah, they had good coaches.
Starting point is 00:02:59 Yeah, that tells us in the field. Couldn't understand how they kept the kids on the field, but they did. So the season's been over for a few weeks now, and all of a sudden, the group text blows up. and I get, can you explain why our kids didn't receive trophies when the season ended? Next parents. There were trophies available? Who decided not to give our kids trophies?
Starting point is 00:03:21 So I guess they had talked to a parent from another team. I guess they're friends with them and they were over at their house and they saw the trophy. And it got it going. And I'm like, guys, is it really that big a deal that three-year-olds didn't get trophies? What was your response though, really? I said, hey, I didn't think three-year-olds needed trophies. That was it. Got them.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Did you say we only won one game? I said we won one game. They're not going to remember this season. Like it was a bad season. Do you really want a trophy for a bad season? And people were like, well, I think we should have taken a team vote. And I'm just like, really? It's three-year-olds.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Do they really need trophies? Did anyone side with you? A couple parents. What do you think the number was if you were breaking it down? It was probably seven for the trophies, three for not. Trophies. The 30% approval rating for your coaching, basically. Okay, yeah, there you go.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Yeah, yeah. How do we feel about this? Three-year-olds and trophies? I don't think this is a participation trophy because I don't think they're going to remember participating in this, nor will they even understand. Like, I think it'll be shiny. I think it's for the parent.
Starting point is 00:04:20 I think the parents want a trophy for them. I think this is a parent thing. Like, the parents want that trophy. Should you get on the trophies? Probably if their teams are. Well, I didn't. And I don't think, I think that's why it's not a participation trophy. I think that's just the parents and the kids
Starting point is 00:04:34 want a souvenir from the season more than a trophy to be, rewarded for the games played. Right. And I don't think every team deserve the same trophy. The team that won first place probably should have got a trophy. We could have probably got ribbons, maybe. Don't look at it as a trophy for an accomplishment. Look at it as a souvenir.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Like you wanted a vacation and you got a little knick-nag and you took it with you to remember it. Yeah. I think if you look at it like that, that's probably the reason you should have got the trophies to say we played. We competed. We showed up. And I don't think they're learning that you get a trophy for participating so much at three. I think they're just like, wow, this is what I got playing. Because I think at every year then they're going to be like, oh, we need a trophy.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Where's our trophy? Well, I mean, that's a problem with culture now, yes. Right. But I don't have a problem with participation trophies up until like nine or 10. Like five and six, who cares? You don't even really playing anyway. Like everybody wins. Everybody wins at five or six.
Starting point is 00:05:33 I guess, unless it's your soccer team, then they go. Oh, man. Team stacks. It was bad. Yeah, I think probably, it's just a perspective thing. I think you should have got a participation souvenir so everybody could remember their first ever soccer season. So are you going to go back now in order to them? No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:05:49 Oh, so it's over. It's over. Like, if you want to go to the store and go to Goodwill and buy a trophy, go ahead. But I'm not going to go buy trophies now. Yeah, I don't think the trophy is awarding them for a winning season or for awarding them for anything, but it's a souvenir of a season, your first ever soccer season. That's what I think. Eddie, your thoughts?
Starting point is 00:06:05 Let me tell you, my three-year-old was on the same league. And we got the trophy. And when he got the trophy, he was gleaming. He was so proud of what he got. I don't think he knew what the trophy was or why he got it. What a representative. And guess where it's sitting right by his bed. And he put it there and it's never left there.
Starting point is 00:06:22 And to me, I'm thinking this is going to be his first trophy of many trophies. And I think this is what's going to set him up in his life to be like, that's what I want every season. I want a trophy just like that. So when it does become real competition, he's like, I'm going to fight for a trophy. Did they win any games? Their team? They probably went about half and half, 500. Oh, so you better?
Starting point is 00:06:42 Oh, they were way better than Lunchbox's team. Yeah, did you ever see him like coaching? We would pass each other. We never had games at the same time and our team's never played, but I would see his team come in while our team was leaving. And were you guys like the ones when they got off the bus. You're like, dang, they're big and fast. And his were like.
Starting point is 00:06:57 I always saw Lunchbox just kind of saying, like, no, no, no, guys, come over here, guys. No, no, no. Jimmy, over here. Come on. Come this way. A lot of that and not a lot of good coaching. Hurting cats. It was hurting cats.
Starting point is 00:07:08 I mean, one goes one way. I mean, two of them are playing chase on the field. And I'm like, guys. I mean, it was so frustrating. Is that your rec team or is it your coaching kids? That's my coaching kids team. No, my rec team, we're getting crushed. We're 0 and 3 this season.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Amy, quickly, your thoughts from home? By the way, it's at home again today. Amy, your thoughts? Yeah, I mean, I don't really think that a three-year-old cares about a trophy, but Eddie is winning me over with his kid thinking that it's so awesome. It's a souvenir for the season more than, it's a trophy for a great season or exemplary play.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Like I said, he doesn't know if he really won the championship or not. So I side with the parents, but not for the same reason, probably. I think he should have done trophies. But now you know, are you going to coach next year? Yeah, I think I'm signing up again. Try to win one. Hey, just a reminder, you can send us an email at any time, ask for our advice, ask us a question. It's how we get our emails for the mailbag.
Starting point is 00:08:01 Morgan, what's the email address? Mailbag at bobbybones.com. All right, let's open it up. and we read it on the air. It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Yeah. Bobby, help. Am I the Karen of the neighborhood?
Starting point is 00:08:15 My husband and I just moved into our new home. We love our pool, but it's also a point of contention with my neighbors. Apparently, the previous owners had an open pool policy. The other night, we woke up to find five kids having a blast in our pool. When my husband asked them what they were doing, they told us their parents, told them they could come swim. He asked them to leave nicely. But then another day, they came back with their mom. At this point, I've run out of a night.
Starting point is 00:08:37 things to say and I said hey I'm sorry I've asked politely I need you to leave this is private property you're not welcome without an invitation from myself or my husband she then proceeds to tell her kids that miss Karen does not want to be a nice neighbor that day my husband and I changed the locks on our gates and with that we don't have any more unwanted guests or so we thought one of the teenagers jumps the fence and opens the game from the inside and there are adults with them am I being a Karen are we being unreasonable is it too much to ask to know who is at our and when? What can I do? Signed, the possible Karen. You are in no way of Karen. It is your house. I cannot believe people would have the nads for all, women and men.
Starting point is 00:09:20 Crazy. To come over and get in a pool at somebody's house that ain't their house. And if the last neighbors had an open pool policy, you know what? Those are the last neighbors. That ain't you. That blows my mind that they think they can come over to a new homeowner. and just hop in their pool. And the parents, like, I would understand. If kids came over and they're used to it, and they're like, let's just do it until we're told no. And the mom is there.
Starting point is 00:09:46 And then she calls you Ms. Karen when you're like, hey, it's also a privacy thing and a security thing. Yeah, definitely. Hey, if something bad were to happen in that pool, guess who's liable? Yes, and an insurance thing. I'm just talking about them seeing the house. Maybe if you're not home, the door's unlocked, or they figure out a way to get,
Starting point is 00:10:02 it's just not a safe situation for anyone involved. You are not a Karen. You should change the locks on the gates. It's an unfortunate situation because now there's not a good relationship between the neighbors. But that's because of them. That is their fault. You're fine and dandy in my book, and I would have done the same thing. Or I'd let Stanley out.
Starting point is 00:10:21 And he's not mean, but he will run. He's like, Kool-Aid man. He runs through things because he's so loving. Those kids would have been bowling pens, and he'd have been like straight. You're all good. So I agree with you. I would have done that too. I appreciate your emailing, but this is open and shut.
Starting point is 00:10:36 You are right. They are wrong. They are bad neighbors. That's it. End of this segment. All right. Thank you for emailing. Let's close up to mailbag. We've got your email and we read it on the air. Now it's about to close Bobby's mailbag. It's fun fact Friday and with a fun fact, our listener John from Brisbane, Australia. Morning Bobby. I had an interesting fact for you today. Did you know why they invented the baby on board sign? for cars. He's actually invented so the rescue team knew to look for a baby
Starting point is 00:11:12 before they gave aid to the driver. Enjoy your Friday. It's pretty good. I didn't know that. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Fun fact Friday Right around the room We got five fun facts for you This is not a competition But I heard lunchbox kind of mumbled to himself
Starting point is 00:11:28 I'm going to kill him Yeah This is not a game It's fun facts Friday It's supposed to be fun My bad I love competition Why don't you lead
Starting point is 00:11:35 And you can set the stage for the rest of us It'll be your standard We have to live up to Go ahead Did you know Dragonflies Are the most brutal killers on the planet That's right
Starting point is 00:11:46 You know you think Oh lion kills their prey the most No They hunt prey only successful 25% of the time. Dragonflies, they see their prey. They kill it 95% of the time. Boom. So next time you see a dragonfly, no.
Starting point is 00:11:59 But they're not going to kill you. That's the most... If I kill other bugs. But when you see a dragonfly, you know that's the most lethal killer on the planet. Hey, can we make this a competition? No. Now I want to play. I know, because anything would beat him.
Starting point is 00:12:11 But I liked it. There's not a competition. What do you mean? That's interesting. It's mildly interesting. I don't care about dragonflies. You had no idea. they were the most lethal killers on the planet.
Starting point is 00:12:23 Let's go to Eddie. Eddie, your fun fact. Hey, mine's along the same realm here. Did you know that when you get bit by a mosquito, it is a female mosquito. It's never a male mosquito. Male mosquitoes can't even bite. So when you get bit and, oh, man, they're biting me. That's a female because they need your blood to create their eggs in their body.
Starting point is 00:12:42 A little more interesting because it actually does affect me. So now you know when it bites you, you're like, hey, girl, get off me. Lady, stop it. Oh, that was so dumb. That was that? That's pretty good. Pretty good, man. All right, let's go to Amy. Amy, what is your fun fact?
Starting point is 00:12:54 The University of Alabama's football practice fields are near a few apartment complexes, but people that live there have it in their leases that they cannot watch any practices. That's funny. You can't enforce that. I mean, I guess they could say you can't. I mean, I guess you could say either watching. Would you send the manager over to say you can't watch? And they could say, you sign this, you can't watch.
Starting point is 00:13:18 it'd be hard to actually enforce that all the time because you have to catch them. Man, why wouldn't the competitor just rent a room there and just watch? You see a guy walk in an LSU hat. I'd like to rent three of these apartments right above the field, please. Wait a second. Morgan, Fun Fact Friday, what do you have? Kim Kardashian has a glam clause in her will. It states that if she's ever in a position where she can't get ready herself,
Starting point is 00:13:41 can't communicate, or she's unconscious, someone has to make sure her hair, nails, and makeup are perfect. Well, that's funny. I thought I was going to say, if I can't get ready, kill me. Hold the plug. But that's good. All right. And finally, here's my fun fact. The stickers on fruits and vegetables are edible. Not only that, the glue used for them is regulated by the FDA. So you can eat them.
Starting point is 00:14:05 No one's eating those. Accidentally, I've eaten a mini. Really? On a peach, mostly. Wow. You just didn't know it was there. He just kept eating? Correct. I never see it and go.
Starting point is 00:14:14 That's the part I'm going to say for the end. But people do it a lot. So that glue is regulated by the FDA And the sticker is edible They have to make sure that Because people do eat them all the time Fun fact Friday The latest from Nashville and Hollywood
Starting point is 00:14:28 Morgan number two's 30 second skinny Kelsey Ballerini released a new song from her upcoming album Here is Love is a Cowboy And when I'm with him It's like rope in the wind Love is a cowper Walker
Starting point is 00:14:46 Walker Walker Tyler Hubbard from Florida Georgia Line released a new solo song called Way Home. I'm God Found. Oh, and now that it's well with my soul, I just ride in the seat next to Jesus. I know he knows the way home. I'm Morgan. That's your skinny. It's time for the good news.
Starting point is 00:15:28 With producer Eddie. Yeah, home there's something good. Guys, there's a hero in Mississippi, and his name is Corian Evans. He is 16 years old. He was hanging out by the river with a buddy of his, and a car comes crashing down from the road, rolls down into the river, and there's three girls in there. And he takes his shirt off, throws his phone out of his pants. He's like, I'm going to go save these girls. He jumps in, pulls the girls out.
Starting point is 00:15:52 A cop sees them. I'll help too, guys. Cop jumps in. The cop starts drowning as well. So this guy, Corian and his buddy, saved the three girls out. of the car and the cop. So if you're, by the way, Corey, that's awesome. If you are that police unit, what would you call him?
Starting point is 00:16:10 Officer. That group of police, the unit, right? Yeah, unit. You probably give him like a squad. You probably give him like a packet of get out of speeding ticket for free. Get out of, like you then have, you saved an officer. You saved other lives. So you deserve one free bank robbery.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Like you have all of that. That's a big one. But that kid arrested his life. Like to jump in to the water. And you know, Eddie, with a few saves yourself as a lifeguard. Dude, I was reading this story and thinking that that is huge. I mean, the best I did was a double save, two people at the same time. This guy got three girls and the police officer.
Starting point is 00:16:44 I mean, my favorite part is he took time to throw his cell phone out and take his shirt off before he got in. That's somebody that knows. It's tough to get water out of a cell phone. That's right. It's tough to get water out of cell phone. And that's probably why the cop was struggling, too, with all his uniform and everything on there, too. So he would assume he took the belt off, though, of stuff. stuff.
Starting point is 00:17:02 Right? Oh, has to. Don't go in with a baton and the gun and all that. But even going in fully clothed. Yeah, man,
Starting point is 00:17:07 it gets heavy. Yeah, that's a good story. All kidding aside, he could have been trapped under there trying to save him in the car. He could have had them kick and pull him down. And he continued to save folks.
Starting point is 00:17:19 So that's an awesome story. Great job. You are a hero. And that is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Starting point is 00:21:40 What musical competition does Ryan Seacrest host? American Idol. Correct. Lunchbox. What former TRL host is now the host of the voice? Carson Daly. Good. Eddie, who's the current host of
Starting point is 00:21:54 The Tonight Show. The Tonight Show? The Tonight Show. Is that Jimmy Kimmel? Or is that Fallon? The Tonight Show is NBC. That's a... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:11 Eddie could go home right now. The Tonight Show. I like it. Give me... Jimmy Kimmel. That's on NBC. No! No! I meant Jimmy Fallon. I can't believe Eddie went home.
Starting point is 00:22:23 I meant Jimmy Fallon. You said what you said. You've been boned. I know what you meant. Yeah, take that. Is it Fallon? Duh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:30 It's so easy. You shouldn't miss it yet. What's the name of Kimmel's? Jimmy Kimmel Live? Oh my God. They don't have a long history with ABC. That was terrible. That was so dumb.
Starting point is 00:22:40 Down goes Eddie. Down goes Eddie. In my head, I saw Fallon. Morgan. Yes. It's wide open for you to win now. I mean, I hope so, yeah. Jeff Probst is the host of what reality competition?
Starting point is 00:22:52 He went to school with my dad, so the Survivor. And that's why. Why is the host of it? Yes. Yeah, I have no idea. Just a fun fact. It's the only reason I knew that. He's from Kansas?
Starting point is 00:23:01 Yeah. Oh, cool. U.S. presidents is the next category. Only three people remain. I mean, I'm embarrassed at Eddie's performance today. Get out. Just keep going. The Gettysburg Address, Amy, was a speech delivered by what president?
Starting point is 00:23:15 Lincoln. Correct. Lunchbox, who's the oldest president ever elected at 78 years old when elected? I'll just go Dang it I have to go Joe Biden But I have no idea What is your answer?
Starting point is 00:23:42 Joe Biden Correct Oh wow What city was JFK shot Morgan Oh my gosh Los Angeles or St. Louis I don't know there's nothing in my brain
Starting point is 00:23:58 So your answer is St. Louis You've been bone I want you know that one I'm gonna guess Dallas Dallas. It wasn't a parade, actually. Wasn't it a parade?
Starting point is 00:24:12 He was driving. He was a parade. He was driving. With the floats and stuff? No, but you don't have to have floats from. Motorcade is what it's called. No, motorcade is when they're just driving somewhere. You lost, and then you insulted Morgan.
Starting point is 00:24:24 And then you were wrong. He boned again. Bone him again. Give him the double bone. No. Dang it. Wow. Only to remain.
Starting point is 00:24:35 Man, how many wins we got on the season here? I want one. got one, Eddie's got one. So lunchbox, if you win this, you can pull up and be in first place. The category is capitals. Oh gosh. I love capitals. Amy, what country is Madrid the capital of?
Starting point is 00:24:51 Same. Correct. Lunchbox, what's the capital of France? Well, there's only one city in France. Well, that would be an inaccurate statement, but... Paris. One city. That's correct.
Starting point is 00:25:09 But there's not just one city in France. Amy, in capitals. Ottawa is the capital of what country? Ottawa, Canada. Correct. Lunchbox, Beijing is the capital of what country? China. Correct.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Good. Nobody got bones. Okay. The category is geometry. Amy, what object is a solid shape that is perfectly round, like a ball? What geometric object is solid shape? Go ahead. It's a circle?
Starting point is 00:25:40 No, it's incorrect. What? A sphere? You've been bow. Like a ball. Yes, sphere. No, a circle and a sphere are not the same thing. Lunchbox, how many sides does a baseball home plate have?
Starting point is 00:25:52 Well, let's see. I'm going to have to draw it because I failed geometry. I don't even know how to draw. Yeah, you can't draw. I don't know how to draw. That looks terrible. It has to be five. Is that your answer?
Starting point is 00:26:07 Yeah. The answer is five. Yeah. There he is. That's why you wear it, baby. You're not on TV. Lunch is like looking at a camera like a play, like a wrestler or like in a, you're good. Hey, good win though.
Starting point is 00:26:37 You are now on Type for First Night. Thank you. Let's go. Wow. Easy trivia. Lunchbox, big winner. A voicemail from Amber in Phoenix, Arizona. I just wanted to call and say, thank you.
Starting point is 00:26:48 I've been listening forever, it feels like. And I just landed my first 911 job on a fire truck. and I have you guys to thank for. Thank you so much. I don't know how or what we did, but we probably didn't do it. You probably did all of it, but we appreciate that very nice message
Starting point is 00:27:09 and congratulations, Amber. That's awesome. Here is Sunny from Chicago. Morning Studio. I just finished listening to the podcast, and I got to thinking with Lunchbox's tax returns to get such big tax returns every year.
Starting point is 00:27:23 I'm thinking he did that SPF bit on vacation. lunchbox, are you writing off the cost of that vacation on your taxes as a work expense? Curious minds want to know how you get it done. Lunchbox went on vacation. I went to people and said, I work for the SPF, the Sun Protection Foundation. Sunburn Protection Foundation. And that was a bit for the show that you came up with.
Starting point is 00:27:45 So your answer is? Yes, absolutely. It's a tax write off. And I meant to tell you guys all this. We all talked about our vacation. So you're allowed to write off your vacation. The whole vacation? Yes, it's absolutely a work expense.
Starting point is 00:27:56 Do you know that actually, if you're going to tell you? Actually, if you're doing something for this show, this show, and you are not a something, you can't write it off for this show. Like a sole proprietor or whatever? It's something, yeah, where if you're doing it for this show, you can't write off most things. Yes, Amy. What about if he did it for sore losers? Different. That's oddly different, different contract.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Like, oddly different legal? Like, if you buy clothes for this job, like you're going to the IHeart Festival or whatever? It's different than on your radio. Absolutely write it off. Yes, festival's different than radio. That's live stage. Buy a plane ticket and you talk about it? I ain't ride it off.
Starting point is 00:28:34 No, that's not how it works. You talked about it on the show. Anyway, here is an independent contractor type thing. You're not that, so you can't for most things in the show. Next up, go ahead. Bobby, you mentioned your book, which we have recently received and read every single night since we've received it, and he has been bugging me all day to call Bobby Bones.
Starting point is 00:28:54 His name is Gabriel. He's six years old. Gabriel, what did you want to tell Bobby Jones? You made more books of the dog books? So there it is. Bobby, can you make more books about Stanley, please? Thank you. I appreciate that compliment.
Starting point is 00:29:09 Right now, no. But hopefully sometime soon. My kid's book, perfect for kids going back to school, especially ages four, five, six years old. Stanley the dog in his first day of school, get it on Amazon, get it wherever for like 15, 16 bucks. But very proud of it. And thank you for the message.
Starting point is 00:29:25 That is really cool. Here's Amy's pile of stories. All right, question for you, Bobby. Is a child entitled to the money that their parents save for college if they don't end up going to college? No. No, no, no, it's not a fund. It's not a slush fund. You don't get it just because you decided to not go to school.
Starting point is 00:29:44 You know, if you put money aside for something specific and that's something, it's just not, all right, free. No. Now you could talk to your parents and go, hey, college isn't for me. Maybe I want to go to a technical school. Maybe I want to start in this job. I have some friends who, like, they're like, a plumber makes good money. I'm going to be a plumber, so I'm going to go learn to do that, like trade school or trade. And so I think it could go there, but I don't think you can go buy like a PS5 with this.
Starting point is 00:30:08 Yeah, why? Oh, it's just a debate. A dad put online because they'd saved a bunch of money for their son and then he didn't go to college and now the son just wants the money. No, good luck. Well, the son probably wants a lot of crap. And you put what you want in one hand, what you deserve and another. And you got nothing in either hand probably. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:24 You're just empty-handed. So, yeah, it sucks for you. I hope the dad goes on our vacation. The dad and mom go and live their life. Maybe break them off something, but no, he's not owed it. I've seen the same debate come up with parents that save for weddings and then their child elopes or doesn't get married. They ask, can I still have that money you save for me? And probably parents most of the times will go, yes, or some.
Starting point is 00:30:44 But no, if it was made for college, you didn't go to college, that ain't, that's money the parents now just have in their own account. What else? A lawyer is warning us to not use. self-checkouts because we could be accused of theft. Well, if you steal, even what, accidentally because it breaks or what, right? You don't know how to use it? Well, it's a lawyer that has like over a million followers on TikTok and she always gives little tips and she said, listen, I've dealt with this too much.
Starting point is 00:31:10 Stay away from self-checkout because you could accidentally steal something, you know, if it doesn't scam right, and then it ends up in your bag and then you get accused of theft and it doesn't happen right away. It's normally when inventory shows up short and they go and they check the video camera and then they come and find you after that. Okay, I don't think the cops are going to bust down your door because you took a head of lettuce. And you didn't know how to ring it up because it's odd
Starting point is 00:31:31 and it's a vegetable. And you're like, how do I do a vegetable? There's no barcode on it. Well, but let's say you have a warrant. Don't do self-checkout. Okay, well, they don't get the warrant. Maybe that's what the lawyer should say. Hey, don't have a warrant for your arrest
Starting point is 00:31:42 before you go to the grocery store. All right, what else? So Carrie Underwood said she likes to check her Twitter feed after every single show because it helps her become a part of the concert and experience what other fans are saying, Also get some feedback. Here's the clip.
Starting point is 00:31:55 When you put on a concert and then you go to the next place to put on the next show, with Twitter, it kind of allows you to experience some of the aftermath, I guess, of being someplace, which is really cool. Aftermath is a good word for Twitter. It's just aftermath all the time. Nothing good. I mean, I like Twitter.
Starting point is 00:32:14 I like to read it, but it isn't a great place to live because I like Instagram stories to say stuff mostly because people can't really reply publicly. They just can go, yeah, or n'n, and they can't do anything. I love Twitter. You'll see me just putting very generic, fun stuff up there, not really any big opinions. Because no matter what you put, people are just going to yell at you. Also, when Kerry finishes a show at some city, even if I'm not in it, I'm going to start tweeting, I'm like I was there.
Starting point is 00:32:38 It's so good. She looks at it, all right? Where do you go for feedback, though, after your shows? You go to bed, huh? Yeah, just sleep. Your dreams. It's a good one, yeah. Just sleep.
Starting point is 00:32:49 All right, Amy. I'm Amy. That's my pile. was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Tell me something good. Kevin was at Waffle House in Midway, Florida, when he looked over and he saw a guy
Starting point is 00:33:05 sitting at a table and he had $5 bills, $1 bills all spread out on the table. And he walked up, he said, hey man, what's up with all the dollar bills on your table? He's like, when my mom was passing away, her last words to me were love everybody. So for the last eight years, I come to Waffle House and I give dollar bills and five dollar bills just to strangers. Just hand them out. That's pretty cool. And with every dollar bill that he hands out, and they have the words written, love everybody. He wrote on the money?
Starting point is 00:33:32 No, no, he wrote a little note and attached it to the dollar bills. Why? That's defacing government property. Federal time. And over the last eight years, he's giving away $13,000 to strangers. That's crazy. That's a lot of money. I was going to sit down to arrest him.
Starting point is 00:33:47 You cannot write on that money, sir. No, that's a great story. And it's really cool that he is honoring what he feels was his mom's message. I think that's really great. By the way, the question is. So is it illegal to write or draw in money. It is. In fact, it's illegal to deface money.
Starting point is 00:34:02 And in this case, U.S. dollars, if they are unusable, it is then illegal. As quoted from the Secret Service official website, defacement of currency is a violation of Title 18, Section 333 of the United States Code. It doesn't say if you will go to jail. And also, did you know the secret. service is what's over money. They're the money, money crime. They're the money cops? Basically, yes.
Starting point is 00:34:24 We think them as just... President's security. But they also... That's their job as well. Did you also know that if you rip a dollar or any kind of bill, like a $100 bill, you can take it to the bank and they'll give you a new one? Yes, that's awesome. Only if it's over 50, I think only like 60%,
Starting point is 00:34:39 because if you did it exactly 50, you go get two. Oh. So, again, not completely accurate. Okay. Like, there's something to it. Oh, I see what you're saying. Like, if you cut it right down in the middle of the middle of it. I can take it.
Starting point is 00:34:50 Penalties if you're convicted of defacing U.S. bills, you can face fines, jail time, or both. For bills, the maximum fine is $100 and the maximum jail sentence is six months. Can you imagine you're in prison? What are you in for, buddy? I drew a smiley face on a 10. That's a great story, though. I like that. That is what it's all about.
Starting point is 00:35:10 That was Tell Me Something Good. Starting point is 00:37:25 APUS. Dot E.D.U. On the phone, Zach in Louisville, Kentucky. Hey, Zach, I appreciate your calling. What can I do for you? My wife just found out she was pregnant. And I was seeing it. if it's true about a pregnancy present.
Starting point is 00:37:45 I don't think it's a law. I think they call that a push present. Really? And I think it's something that's newer, and I think probably pregnant when made this rule. I think it's like the card companies on Valentine's Day. They made that out so you buy more. But I also think it's pretty cool because,
Starting point is 00:38:01 listen, I would imagine if your wife is pregnant, you're doing everything possible to make her as comfortable as possible. And you know what makes me comfortable? A present? Oh, yeah. I mean, it doesn't matter where I am. If I'm uncomfortable, somebody gives me a present, I'm a little more comfortable immediately. So, you know, I don't think you're going to go to prison.
Starting point is 00:38:17 I don't think you're forgetting a birthday or an anniversary, Zach. But a push present is something now that people are doing. Listen, she's not hitting you up for a baby moon, is she? No, it's more like just like a, I guess, a final date night or something. She was like tickets to a concert or, you know, stuff like that. And I'm like, okay. But why not? Why don't you want to take her and do something, Zach?
Starting point is 00:38:44 She's having your baby. Right. I mean, I guess I'm just trying to come up with something that we both like because she's more Justin Bieber and I'm more like, you know, raging idiots. Yeah, there we go. That's my favorite band too. In my profile, like what music do you listen to? I write The Raging Idiots. Your own band.
Starting point is 00:39:05 You guys should just make the two-hour drive down to Nashville and bring. When you having that baby, Zach? I think her due dates in January, I do believe. Oh, you got plenty of time. August 12 and 13th, I'm doing a couple shows in Nashville. You should come down to those shows. Bring your wife. Tickets are going on sale today.
Starting point is 00:39:24 Go get them and come to the show. I'd love to see you and your pregnant wife and you're about to be child. Does she like the show at all that? I am about. Yeah, she does love Bobby Bones, man. Bobby Bones is her favorite. He's a good guy. She loves you on, she watches you on Dancing with Stars.
Starting point is 00:39:39 Well, if she liked me then, that's awesome. She must have probably love me then. No, she likes you too, and she's talked me into trying to get tickets to your show. Well, get you tickets. 10 o'clock Central, you're Eastern, so 11 o'clock Eastern. I think that would be a nice push present. And if you come, message me, I would love to meet you guys, all right? All right, yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:40:01 Thank you so much. Thank you, buddy. All right, there is Zach in Louisville, getting a push present for a life. That worked out. Yeah, it worked out pretty good. Thank you guys for listening. By the way, tickets on sale today at bobbybones.com, 10 Central. Would love to see everybody.
Starting point is 00:40:14 All right, let's go over to Amy now and get in The Morning Corny. The Morning Corny! I would love to get paid to sleep. Yeah? Yeah, that's what I would call my dream job. That's dumb. That was the Morning Corny. I don't know. It's kind of funny.
Starting point is 00:40:37 It's kind of fun. It's pretty good. The Friday morning conversation with Reba McIntyre. Reba, good to talk to you. How are you today? I'm doing good. I'm doing good. I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:40:49 You're going back on the road. I can't get enough Reba in my life. I'll be honest with you. Well, I hope everybody feels that way about it. Do you have, because I know a lot of your life you've spent on the road, but do you still have that drive to get on the road to perform these songs live? Oh, yeah, definitely. Or I wouldn't be doing it.
Starting point is 00:41:09 I enjoy being on stage. I love getting in front of an audience. I always have loved touring. You know, of course everybody gets tired, ready to go do something else. But Turing's been very good for me and my family and all my organization. And we absolutely crave it. Have I told you, Reba, about the story where I thought you were inducting me into the Grand Ole Opry or inviting me to the Opry? Have I told you this in person?
Starting point is 00:41:32 Yeah. Okay, good. Yeah, Reva was coming out because she – and I was like covering for a few minutes in a comedy. She comes out and she goes, bye-de-bye. And I was like, what's that? I'm about to be invited to the opera. And she goes, hey, thanks for covering for me. And I was like, I was not invited to the opera right then.
Starting point is 00:41:47 So that's my best Reba story. Riba Live in Concert, the 17th City Run, will have Terry Clark. Tickets are on sale today. That's why Reba's on today, because they are on sale today. Now, when you're putting a set list together, are you balancing any of the new stuff? And do you keep, like, super massive hits, like strategically in the set list? Bobby, basically, I treat my fans the way I want to be treated. When I go see a concert, I want to hear the songs that I can sing along to,
Starting point is 00:42:16 songs that I'm familiar with. And so that's what we try to hang on to on a set list. We might put in one that something, a reason for putting it on, but basically it's the songs that have been popular for a while, that the fans and everybody's been really nice for them to be hit records. And that's what we go for on our set list. Will you do an encore regardless of how good or bad the crowd is? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:50 And what is your strategy with what songs to put in that encore section? Because you know there are some people going, well, crap, she didn't even play Little Rock, you know? There you go. Why would you put those songs there? What's happening there? Well, the encore's always fancy. We don't leave until fancy is the last.
Starting point is 00:43:08 song. Everybody loves it. It's spectacular. And visually, it's a great song. Bobby Gentry had a number one record with it in the 60s, and I recorded it in 90 with Tony Brown. It wasn't a number one record, but it's the song everybody wants to hear. And when I sing fancy, everybody says, okay, she's over, but it's done, the show's over, we can go home. Do you ever, and I think this happens to everybody at some point, you're on stage and you can't hear a guitar or your inner ears are out. and you just have to kind of keep going
Starting point is 00:43:40 and just hope everything is working the way that you thought it was. Has that happened to you recently where you're just like, all right, I'm going to keep pushing through and just hope when this song is over, they go, hey, we're all good. Yeah, that's happened quite a few times,
Starting point is 00:43:52 especially because, you know, we change clothes, we do different outfit, costume changes, and one time we forgot to turn the pack on when I got into my fancy outfit and I'm going up either onto the stage or up in the elevator and I don't hear anything. and so you just have to pull the ear monitor out of your ear and fake it and act like nothing's wrong
Starting point is 00:44:16 and you know that you'll see the band kind of look over like what's going on she doesn't have her ears in and you know you just smile with grin and bear it and go on at this point do you ever forget the lyrics to your most famous songs oh shoot yeah all the time i look at the audience and i say heck y'all know these songs better than i do y'all sing it or I'll kind of look at people in the front row and they'll be singing along. I can greet their lips and kind of get back on track. Reba is on tour starting October 13th, but tickets are on sale today. So I hope you guys get your tickets to see Reba. Not only is she touring, but I was just looking at some of the stuff you're doing either on TV or it's a movie, but it's a lifetime movie.
Starting point is 00:44:57 So let's talk about The Hammer for a second. So it's actually called Reba McIntyre's The Hammer. What is this, what's this lifetime project? Well, it's the second movie, second movie deal that I've done with Lifetime. The first one was the Christmas movie that we shot last year. And then this, The Hammer, I've really fell in love with the script because it's about a real-life circuit judge who travels 25,000 miles in a 25,000-mile area, and covers three courthouses in Nevada. So it's interesting. It's creative.
Starting point is 00:45:33 It's up to speed, up to date. And she's quite the character, Judge Kim Wanker. And they changed my name to Judge Wheeler, but I get to play her, and it's been a lot of fun. Rexland, my boyfriend's in the movie. Melissa Peterman's in the movie also. And we shot it in Canada and just had a blast. So it'll be out, I'm thinking next year, January sometime. And I'm just now seeing the editing of trying to get to the final stages of the movie.
Starting point is 00:46:05 but we had a blast shooting. Did they change Wanker because it was like a U.K. bad word? Like, you know, in the English? I hope they did. Yeah. I think that was a good idea, yes. Yeah, I guess if they're in the U.K. and they're using the F word of the last name or something,
Starting point is 00:46:16 and Americans would be like, well, that ain't a good last name for that. Well, I didn't know that until I was watching Ted Lassow. And they're calling people Wankers. And also Reba didn't know she was going to be referenced in Ted Lassow because he goes to the ticket counter and he's like, two tickets for Reba McIntyre. Right, you didn't know that until you saw it yourself. I did not. I was shocked and thrilled a piece because I love that show.
Starting point is 00:46:40 Wouldn't that be weird you're watching one of your favorite shows and they'd reference me? Like a couple times on Nashville when that show was on, I would watch and then it would be like, yeah, but it's a song going to get on the Bobby Bone show. And I was like, I pointed at the TV. Like anybody knows, I just pointed at it. I'm like, oh, that's crazy. Reba's out on tour. You guys go watch. And if you're in Oklahoma, Reba, what's up at this restaurant you're opening? Are you involved in actually picking like the food and stuff? Food, silverware, plates. the color of the material of the drapes that are at the booth, everything.
Starting point is 00:47:09 Absolutely. We've been working on it for a long time and really excited about it. It's just a dream come true to get to do something in close to your hometown. I grew up in Chucky, Oklahoma, which is probably 12 miles north of Atoka. So just to be able to get back home and you got another excuse to go back home, in other words. Will you ever show up randomly at the restaurant? Let's say if folks are there, there's always like a 1% chance Reba could show up. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:47:39 And, you know, it's not only a fun thing to get to do, but it's kind of check in on see how things are doing. And then make scheduled stop so people can come to the restaurant. And, you know, you might get up on the stage and do a few songs. You never know what's going to happen. How crazy would that be if you go to Reba's restaurant and Reba comes down? I just wouldn't believe it was her. I believe there was some sort of joke or some sort of someone impersonating. her. We have two questions left, and Reba's on with us right now. My first questions, we're talking
Starting point is 00:48:09 about reservations or restaurants. If you have to make a reservation, whose name will you make it under, or do you have a whole fake name you don't want to share? Oh, no. I use my name, especially if it's a restaurant that's hard to get into. It's so funny, sometimes we'll say, I'll say, hey, Leslie, would you please get us a reservation at 6.30 tonight at so-and-so for five people? She'll come back, said, can't get in. I said, you use my name? No. I said, okay, try that. Then she'll try that. She can come back and said, still couldn't get in. I said, okay, that's funny. I was not expecting that, but that is funny. And then I'm going to ask, I have to ask this question every single time, because the last episode of Reba had more than 8 million people watched. I mean, like, what's up?
Starting point is 00:48:56 What's up, Reba? I'm just going to ask you that. What's up? Well, it's, you know, things, we've been really trying hard to do a reboot on the Riba show, because I really want to work with the people that I got to work with during that six and a half years. It was fun, the cast, the crew, everybody we got to work with and play with. They were wonderful people, and we wanted to get back together like a reunion and have fun. So hopefully that'll happen one day. All right, I'm going to end with this. Reba.com is where you go today.
Starting point is 00:49:26 10 a.m. local time. Tickets to see Riba in her arena tour. I saw Riba a couple years ago do a whole show in Vegas with Brooke. I mean, as good as she's ever been. Now, that being said, I've only seen her like twice, and she's always been awesome. So she's always a great A-plus show. I've seen her three times. The time she invited me to the Opry to be a member of the Opry. I forgot about that time. Yeah, it was a good night, too. Go get tickets to the show. Reba.com on sale today, 10 a.m. Local time. Reba, always a pleasure. Hope you have a great weekend. We'll talk to you soon. you, Bobby. And don't forget, Terry Clark's on that show, too. So if you're kind of tired of hearing me, come here, Terry. She puts on a wonderful show. All right, Reba. Thank you. Bye. Thanks, Bobby. Bye. Bye. Starting point is 00:52:34 Yeah, yeah. So, I'll say, who's the most famous country singer from Alaska? If you know it, you raise your hand. Write your answer down. You get it right, you get a point. Oh, the most famous. Is that a real one?
Starting point is 00:52:46 Yeah. So if you get it right, you get a point. and you stay in. If you don't write anything down, you stay in. Got it. All right. I probably won't write long now. Okay. Any of them down? And then whoever finished with most points wins. Okay? I like it. That's tough. All right, here we go. And we're gonna do that. If you don't know, just say don't know pass, you're still in the game, but you will not get a point.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Okay. Lunchbox, Eddie, Amy. Who is the most famous country artist from Alaska? Oh gosh. And I'll give you a hint on this one. I don't really consider I'm a country artist, although they did a small country project. Got it. You got it?
Starting point is 00:53:23 He's going to guess. You're in, and if you miss this, you're out, but you can go for the point? No, I didn't write anything down. Oh, you said you got it. Like, I'm not, like, yeah, I got it. Like, I'm passing. No, no, just sit.
Starting point is 00:53:34 No, so you got it. Say, I pass. I pass. I pass. You pass? I pass. Eddie? I pass.
Starting point is 00:53:41 Amy. Oh, okay, I'm in. Okay, Amy's going for the point. There are only 10 of these. Amy's going for the point. Amy, who is the most famous country, singer from Alaska. Go. Little Nazegs.
Starting point is 00:53:55 Alaska? He's from Alaska. What a terrible guess. Amy's out. Oh, that was so fun. Why would she guess that? That was great. I love this game. What, Mike? He's in Georgia, yeah. Oh. No, the answer is Jewel and Amy's been eliminated. Wow. All right. That's the weirdest. That tasted bad.
Starting point is 00:54:16 All right, next up, between you two. Interesting. Hey, Eddie, let's go. Yeah, man, I'm passing. Good luck. I'm a pastellate misses. Amy's still not here. She should be back in tomorrow. So that leads me.
Starting point is 00:54:25 Did you have a lot of NyQuil last night, Amy? That was so random. I just, I don't know. Okay, next up. Yeah, she's drunk. All right, next up. Best country singer from Arkansas. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:54:41 The best country singer? The most famous. That's tough. The most famous country singer from Arkansas. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm in for a guess. Oh, Eddie's in for a guest. guess. Lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:54:52 Man, I don't know if he's from there, though. You know, I think I should probably pass. You're going to pass this one? Well, I don't know. I don't know. There's one I got to guess, but I don't know if he's from Arkansas. Can I ask you if he's from there? No. No. You can't pass? Yeah, I'll have to pass. Okay, so lunchbox passes. Eddie, your answer is? For one point bones, give me Johnny Cash. That's correct.
Starting point is 00:55:14 Dang it. That's who I had. All right, Eddie's up one zero. Yeah, let's go. Eddie's up one zero. Gosh, I should have guessed. Next up. Can you name the best country singer from, most famous, from Kansas. Kansas. Kansas. Most famous country singer from Kansas.
Starting point is 00:55:40 You said Little Nazex is in Georgia? You know, I don't understand what just happened there. That's this bizarre part of our show's history that I will probably just forget. Oh, man. I'm going to pass. You going to pass, Eddie? Yeah, I'll pass on that one. Morgan here from Kansas?
Starting point is 00:55:54 Who's famous from Kansas? I don't know, honestly. Like, nothing comes to mind for me. There's a band that has a Kansas song, but... There's also a band named Kansas. Yeah. So, who didn't win was Jared Neiman and Shelley Ride, both from Kansas. The winner is Martina McBride.
Starting point is 00:56:09 Oh, wow. What's the name? All right, that's three. Next up. Most famous singer from Kentucky. Most famous country singer from Kentucky. Oh, my gosh. Remember, if you miss it, you're out.
Starting point is 00:56:24 Now, Kentucky has a pretty good little list of country singers here. Oh, it has a big... I know a few singers from Kentucky, but I don't know if they're the most famous. Man, I don't know that. Like, I'm so confused on how we're determining who's the biggest. Most famous country singer from Kentucky. You guys, are in or out? Yeah, I'm going to pass on that one.
Starting point is 00:56:44 Well, now that Eddie said there's more singers, I only know one, so I'm going to pass. Oh, but maybe you know the one. Who'd you have? I had Chris Stapleton, but I don't know who the most, I don't know how you consider him if he's the most famous. Eddie? Oh, I have Billy Ray Cyrus, John Michael Montgomery. Loretta Lynn would have been the answer. Yeah, that's all my head.
Starting point is 00:57:01 Hey, Eddie, thank you for opening your mouth, say there was multiple people from Kentucky. Well, there's a lot. I didn't know that. Next up, most famous country singer from Louisiana. Oh, I'm in. For a point. Eddie's in for a guess.
Starting point is 00:57:17 I'm in for a point. And if he misses it, he's out with one point and lunchbox can still try to get some points. Yeah. No, I just win, right? No, no. He ends up with one. Man, how many more we got?
Starting point is 00:57:28 This is number five. Okay. Dude, you need a guess. Three seconds left. In or out, lunchbox. He's in. Oh, my gosh. He's in.
Starting point is 00:57:41 From Louisiana. Eddie, who do you have? I have Tim McGraw for the win. Lunchbox, do you have? That's Tim McGraw. The answer is Tim McGraw. Yeah. It wasn't for the win, Eddie.
Starting point is 00:57:51 I had Tim McGraw. That's okay. Well, I didn't know you did. Delaware. Pass. No. Most famous country singer from Delaware. Did it count that he said pass already?
Starting point is 00:58:02 No. Well, he yelled no right after. So I guess that's a problem. Golly. Is he really the most famous from Delaware? Yeah, I'm in. He ain't even that famous. I'm going to go for three points, lunch.
Starting point is 00:58:17 All right. Lunchbox, in or out? I'm in. Eddie? Jimmy Allen. Lunchbox? Jimmy Allen. Correct. Boom!
Starting point is 00:58:24 Is he the only one from Delaware? Chuck Wicks. Oh, I didn't know that. All right. Three left? All right. Best country singer from Michigan. The most famous, not best.
Starting point is 00:58:36 Whatever. Same difference. It's different. You know what the game is. Michigan. Michigan. Susan Raimundo. Yeah, Sizzons from Michigan.
Starting point is 00:58:44 Who else is from Michigan? Does vacation. Five seconds? Yeah, he's not a country. I'll pass. I'm passing. All right, the answer would have been Kid Rock. Thought about that.
Starting point is 00:58:57 I believe we have two left. I'll stop counting. I don't know where we are, but we're going to get two left. This is a pilot of a game. I like it, though. All right. Most famous country singer from Mississippi. Now, Lipsbox, you're going to have to get something right.
Starting point is 00:59:10 I understand what I'm going to have to do. Yeah. Mississippi. Who doesn't want a Mississippi? A sip of me. Mississippi. Who could be from Mississippi? Oh.
Starting point is 00:59:24 Is he from Mississippi? I don't know. Anybody from Mississippi. I'm a pass. Yeah, I have a guess, but I'm going to pass. It's not worth it. Okay, the answer was Elvis. Of course.
Starting point is 00:59:37 I thought he's from Memphis. No. And why is this thing in Memphis? Because he moved to Memphis. That's so dumb. He's from Tupelo. All right, we have how many left? Two? One.
Starting point is 00:59:45 Two. All right. Best country singer, most famous country singer from North Carolina. Oh. Oh. Ooh. There's a lot of them. There's got to be a lot of them.
Starting point is 00:59:59 Lunchbox, you can't win unless you get this one and the next one. I understand. You know. Eddie, if you get this, you clinch. Yeah, I know. Most famous country singer from North Carolina. Eddie's going to step out. You're not in this one?
Starting point is 01:00:12 I have a guess, but I don't think it's worth it again. So you're not going to guess? So I'm skipping. He's skipping. Lunchbox. Come on. You got it. He's leaving the door open for you.
Starting point is 01:00:20 Pass. I'm going for the time. Do it. Oh, my good. What a loser. Okay. No, I got it. I got it. No, you said pass. No, I got it. The answer's Eric Church.
Starting point is 01:00:28 Oh, I would have missed that. I'd have missed it. I had Scottie McCreary. Me too. I had McCreary. Luke Combs? No, yeah, see, didn't think about him. He's from North Carolina? See, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:00:37 Last one. Yeah, I got this. Most famous from Ohio. Worth three points. Ohio. Ohio. It would be Cleveland. It'll be Cincinnati.
Starting point is 01:00:47 Who is from Columbia? Could be Columbus. Could be a little nice. Chill of coffee. Who is from Ohio? When I talked to him, they talk about Ohio. No one. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:02 Who's a Buckeye fan? Eddie? No, I pass. You're passing? There's no reason to pass. No, no, he passed. He already said it. He already said it.
Starting point is 01:01:10 He's a loser. Even if you guess nothing, you're fine. Lunchbox? Karen Fairchild. No. The answer is Rascal Flats. Okay. They're all from Ohio?
Starting point is 01:01:18 Dang it. That was my... No, it was not your game. The game's pretty good. It's not great yet. Amy flamed out early. I don't know why. You too. We're getting there. It's slow.
Starting point is 01:01:28 So who won that one? Eddie is our winner. Okay. Three. With three. Yeah. All right. Good job, Eddie.
Starting point is 01:01:33 Thank you. David on the phone in North Carolina right now. Hey, David, what's up, buddy? Hey, how's it going, Bobby? Hey, pretty good. So your wife message me. Do you know about this? Yes.
Starting point is 01:01:44 Mention something, potentially, yeah. So she messaged me on Instagram and said, hey, I'd love to come to Nashville because I'm doing a couple shows in August, the 12th and 13th. She goes, we'd love to come, but my husband, like he won't commit to bringing me. What's the situation here? Two little kids.
Starting point is 01:02:02 I'm trying to figure out the babysitting stuff. I guess just scared of committing weeks out. She's crazy about you. She's been listening to your show since I've been married seven years ago. Is there any resentment there about that? Not at all. Like, does she ever bring me up and you're like, okay, get over it? Like, or bring up any, or just the show in general, like, okay, get over it.
Starting point is 01:02:27 Does it ever come up in a fight? Anything like that? No. Oh. No. I hold no ill will towards you. Okay. I like that.
Starting point is 01:02:35 I'm looking at their family's Instagram, looking at his wife's Instagram. Hey, great looking family here. Yeah? Yeah. Yeah. We got two little boys, both under three, so. This guy did a good job all the way around. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:02:48 You did one of those things, too, where your wife was way prettier than you are. So, hey, I felt you on that one, buddy. I'm pretty blessed. Yeah, well, here's the thing. Your wife did reach out, and I said, I will call him, and if you can find babysitters, if you come to the show, I'd love to meet you guys when you do come to town.
Starting point is 01:03:06 So that's the deal. If you do come and you're at the show, have her message me, and I'd love to meet you guys before a show if you do come, okay? I will do my best to make it happen. She would be crazy about that, at the once-in-a-lif-lif-lif-and-a-lif-life time. And if you want me to take her for a while,
Starting point is 01:03:21 just one-on-one, Hang it. Give you a break. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You can go look at the city, do Broadway. No, I'm just kidding. Well, listen, David. What do you do for a living?
Starting point is 01:03:31 What kind of job you got? I'm a nurse. Oh, that's awesome. Do you ever have to stick needles in people's hands? Mainly elbows. Sometimes hands. Blasses or inside of the elbow. Well, I ask that about the hands because I have a cousin who's a nurse
Starting point is 01:03:49 and she had to practice on people. when she was learning to be a nurse by sticking needles in their hands and taking blood. I guess it's the last resort. I don't know, but I always said no. And I always thought it was really weird that they would have to take blood from hands. So why would you take blood from a hand, David?
Starting point is 01:04:04 Well, I mean, usually we have to get basic labs to just see, like, electrolytes, what their blood counts are, things like that. It's usually a little bit more painful, so that's why I don't necessarily like to go there first at a comfort for the patient. I mean, obviously it's not ever comfortable having a needle inside you. So you go to the hand if you can't get in a vein on the arm or something?
Starting point is 01:04:26 Yeah. You ever do one of those things? We rub it together and go, Claire! Haven't done that, no. Yeah, shocking if someone's having a heart attack or whatever. Yeah. What about medicine just laying around? You ever see medicine laying around somewhere and be like, well, I'll take that myself and swipe that and do it like your bag or anything?
Starting point is 01:04:44 No. Anybody have a question? Because I like this. We have David on who's a nurse. I think nurses are like the backbone, nurses and teachers, right? The most underappreciative folks out there. Whenever I get to the doctor, David, and I have to sit in a room for 50 minutes, wait for my doctor to show up, and I know he's there.
Starting point is 01:05:00 Why am I in a waiting room for 50 minutes? You'll be waiting so that the doctor can look up like your chart, check, you know, if there's medicines, they can look at other notes like for other facilities to see if, you know, there's any emergent needs or, like, you know, clues, maybe there's a history of something. And so they want to walk in as informed as they can and then ask the questions that are most pertinent. But shouldn't they do that at home the night before? Isn't it like research? You know, I'm coming in, Doc.
Starting point is 01:05:31 You know, look it up at home, so I have to sit there for an hour. Yeah, you made the appointment a month ago. Yeah, I just, by the time, I'm in there for an hour. I'm putting rubber gloves on my hand. I'm doing all the stuff. Like, I'm playing with little sticks, the whole thing. So let's speed that up a little bit. So that's, okay, that's like, lunchbox you have a question? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:46 Do you ever get to deal with, like, criminals that are handcuffed to the bed, like they get brought in and you're the nurse that has to go check them out? That sounds like a fantasy more than it does. No, because I mean, I'd be terrified to go in there and they're going to beat you up. Yeah, criminals. I think that happened once. I don't remember a whole lot about it. But yeah, sometimes we do get people from like Sheriff's Department,
Starting point is 01:06:07 needing tests, things like that. Okay, what about, do you ever have people come in and you know they're lying? You're like, you're not sick with this. and you know they've read it online or something and they're just completely faking it. Dr. Google, they like to look up things and yeah. Yeah, I'd say that's pretty accurate sometimes, yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:28 Do you get annoyed when people are sick and they Google it and come in with the answers? They're like, well, I googled and it said this. So I go, I need this. I wouldn't say annoyed. I mean, I'm not the one prescribing, so I'm kind of the middleman. So that makes it a little bit easier.
Starting point is 01:06:43 I think that, you know, like, it's hard if anyone, walks in and tells you how to do your job. A lot of people tell me every day, though. Look online. Everybody tells me I do my job every single day, like 10,000 times a day, so I felt that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Amy, you have any questions while we have David on?
Starting point is 01:06:59 Yeah, so I'm really into Gray's Anatomy right now. Are there really that many office romances in, like, hospital settings with nurses and doctors? Good question. I'd say it's probably more of, like, nurses and nurses. Sometimes I've seen where it was like a nurse became a nurse practitioner or something, and now they work in the same office type thing. Not nearly as much as Gray's Anatomy would have you believe, though, I would say.
Starting point is 01:07:26 Well, listen, this turned into actually a pretty good segment, just talking about what nurses do. And, again, nurses are so valuable. Nurses and teachers, they just do not get the appreciation they deserve. Well, listen, David, if you guys decide you're coming to Nashville, I'm coming to the show, I would love to meet you guys. And if you decide not to come, well, I forgot you forever. Oh, there you know.
Starting point is 01:07:46 That's how it goes here. It's very hot and cold here. All right. You said got it. Dave, good to talk to you. Thank you for answering the phone and tell your lovely wife that I said hello, and we all said hello, and thank you for listening. Thank you. You guys, have a great day.
Starting point is 01:07:59 All right, there he is, David. Uh, by the way, I'll say this. If you want to come to the show, which is happening in Nashville, August 12th and 13th, tickets go on sale today. Today's Friday. They go on sale today at 10 a.m. Just go to Bobbybones.com. and get tickets. Bobby Bones.com and get your tickets there.
Starting point is 01:08:18 Big thanks to David, who's a nurse, for sharing all that with us. Bobby Bones Show. Bonehead. Story of the day. This story comes us from Mestero, Florida. A 49-year-old man was out to dinner sitting at a table when the table next to him,
Starting point is 01:08:32 a wife, husband, two kids. The kids start making a little bit too much noise, interrupting his dinner. Turns around and tells the dad, shut those kids up. Oh, whoa. And the dad's like, oh, and they get in an argument, guy pulls out a fork, says,
Starting point is 01:08:45 If you don't get those kids to be quiet, I'm going to stab you in the neck. All caught on video. Did he stab him? Yeah, did he do it? No, he didn't stab him, but he was arrested for threatening. It's weird to go to a weapon that the other person also has. Yeah, yeah. Equal fight.
Starting point is 01:08:59 Yeah, meaning if you pull a gun on someone and they don't have a gun, you're winning. But if you pull a fork and he's got a knife. Uh-huh, and a spoon. He's got all the weapons you got. Doesn't seem like that bright of a decision. That would be tough, though, if someone's a thing. shut your kids up. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:17 Regardless of all the other stuff. It's pretty much impossible. And, I mean, they're at a restaurant. Kids are going to talk. Maybe ask to move tables. What would you do, lunchbox, if some guy looked over at you and said, hey, guy, shut your kids up. I mean, how about you shut up? Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:09:32 Or I'll shut you up. Oh. Okay, but what it? And then. Escalate? It could escalate. Because if you said that, he would get up. Then he gets up, and I'd get up.
Starting point is 01:09:40 And then what? Hey. Not hey. No, like, no. It takes two to tango. Yeah. You're saying a lot of cliche things. What would happen?
Starting point is 01:09:47 Would you hit him first? No, I mean, I would sit there so my kids don't see him. He swings at me, then it's on. So you would wait for him to swing. Yeah, he dodged, hit him with a short elbow, upper cut, it's over. Oh, wow, counter punch. Yeah. But you dodge.
Starting point is 01:10:01 Yeah. Just a little bobbing weed. Like that? Like a butterfly? Yeah. Do you probably get in a little box of shuffle? Yeah. Feet back and forth.
Starting point is 01:10:09 Do a little taunting at first, and you know, oh, oh, oh, miss me. Oh, where'd I go? Oh! And then. All that. All that. Wow. Okay.
Starting point is 01:10:17 Yeah. Good for you. I like it. And then when he's down on the ground, I'll lay my napkin on him. Oh, but you're going to knock him out. You're going to knock him out with him. And rarely in fights, do you see someone get hit so hard with a singular punch they get knocked out? Usually people wrap up.
Starting point is 01:10:31 It's ugly, kicking, spitting. But never is it just like, boom, out. But you would go boom out. Yeah. He'd be laid out. Well, it would probably be boom, boom out. But then, yes, he'd be out. And then lay the napkin.
Starting point is 01:10:42 I'm like, here you go, man. Don't want you to get anything on your shirt. ever punched a man in the face? A man? Okay, don't I do that where you ask yourself. Ever punched a man in the face? Well. No, no, no, yes or no.
Starting point is 01:10:55 I'm going to explain. In soccer, some dude, I guess I didn't punch, but it was more of a backhand. But you're in the middle of a match. Yeah, yeah. We were playing indoor and he knocked me into the wall. I'm talking about like a real fight.
Starting point is 01:11:08 Like a bar and you're just like, oh, you want to play? Whack. No, I haven't had to. No one's messed with me. So you've never been in a fight? No, I've been in a fight, but not with a man. With a kid? Yeah, when I was a kid.
Starting point is 01:11:18 Oh, when you were a kid. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was scary. Did you put a napkin on him? No, I didn't have a napkin on me. All right. I got a feeling all that you just said, and none of that would happen. All right, thank you.
Starting point is 01:11:27 Go ahead and close it up. I'm lunchbox. That's your bonehead story of the day. So, Eddie, you did something, and you know lunchbox is going to hate what you did. Oh, 100%. Is he going to be offended by it? No, he's just going to be like, you're an idiot. Anoyed?
Starting point is 01:11:41 annoyed, definitely. What did you do? So it's our time of year to vote people into the CMA Awards. Like this is an open ballot. No, there are no nominees. This is just you can nominate anyone. Bobby Jones is the rage idiots. At the beginning, you can nominate anybody, right?
Starting point is 01:11:55 Absolutely. This is the first stage. So for new artist of the year, I did Abby Lee Anderson. Oh, come on. Yes. She's not even, guys. Abby, her national anthem gets played. That's not an original song.
Starting point is 01:12:08 She's an artist. People do covers all the time. Stop. No artist gets nominated. as new artist for a cover song. She is not a new artist. Oh my gosh. Eddie, you are an idiot. Wasn't achy breaky cover song?
Starting point is 01:12:21 Boom, look at that. Alien ant farm, smooth criminal. Michael Jackson. Cover. Yeah, so that's not true exactly, but okay. You guys, Eddie, you are, they're going to disbar you from the CMAs. Disbar you? Yeah, I don't know if that's possible.
Starting point is 01:12:37 So, hey, Abby, let me ask you this, because you know, we're moments away, central time for tickets going on sale to my show. in August. And on Friday night, Eric Dodd is the opening musical act. Don't do that. Don't. Don't. Stop. Let them talk. Bobby. Quit. You guys, charity at some point has to run out. No, it doesn't. No, it doesn't. And I pray that it doesn't. That would be terrible. You need the opposite to that. Terrible way to live.
Starting point is 01:13:00 He says charity. Has there been any conversation about you guys doing Vacation Part 2, all three together? Abby, have you heard that at all? Yeah. Oh, there has been. I mean, Ray just kind of ran it by me. He's like, would you be but I haven't really heard anything final. Now Ray, you're asking her that because Dodd has asked you? Yeah. He said, would you and Abby be down to do it? And I said, yeah, and I mean, she's a major part
Starting point is 01:13:22 of the song. So she has the background vocals. Exactly. And yeah, I mean, those are backing vocals pretty much? Okay, so are you guys announcing it now before the tickets go on sale that Eric Dodd, Cizan Raimondo, and Abby Leigh Anderson are going to go and they're going to play this song together in the opening part of the show.
Starting point is 01:13:39 Yeah! Okay, okay, okay. That's Abby. Yeah. Ray's your rap part coming up. Oh, yeah. All right. Beas in here, you're so Gucci, you sizzle. Shooting right out of Charlie Daniels.
Starting point is 01:14:25 Oh, Phil. My sunny side up. Hit creaking on my make, great. He did that with the song, too. Hey. You remember right now? Yeah, I got it. I got it.
Starting point is 01:14:42 Should we nominate Ray for maybe entertainer? Oh, my gosh. Entertainer of the Year? That's pretty good. I like it. Okay, so the Friday night show, Dodd, Raym, Abed. They're going to play together.
Starting point is 01:14:55 I was giving them all little nicknames, you know? Okay, so, by the way, tickets go on still 10 o'clock Central, depending on where you are. Maybe that's already happened. But here, momentarily, go to Bobbybones.com or CMATheater.com to get tickets. Friday night's Eric Dodd and gang. And then Saturday night, it's Steve Mokler opening up.
Starting point is 01:15:13 All right, we're out. We'll see you guys Monday. Bye, everybody. Air Tasker helps you get your weekends back.
