Starting point is 00:03:07 Welcome to Friday show. Morning studio. Morning. All right, A-plus show today. I love a Friday show. Scotty McCree will be on a little bit. Fun fact, Friday, the dance party. Easy trivia, all that.
Starting point is 00:03:16 La, la, la. You know it's going to be good if I'm moving off of it that quickly. I have something interesting to talk about. It has to do with Eddie. Let's be honest. Let's have a moment here. We're in Circle of Trust.
Starting point is 00:03:26 Everybody good? Yeah, good. We live in Nashville, and we're not from Nashville, but they moved us here to do this show on a big platform. And with that platform, we get to meet really cool people.
Starting point is 00:03:37 I got to meet Dolly Parton. know her a little bit. It's awesome. It's crazy. I can't believe my life. Garth Brooks, I consider myself kind of buddies with them. It's crazy. It's like growing up, my hero. It's amazing. And then the new artists come in and we get to see them grow from being like somebody who's never had a song to be in superstars. One of them would be Morgan Wallin.
Starting point is 00:03:53 And so Morgan Wallin, killing it. Him and Luke Combs are probably leading the charge right now. So, this is what happened with Eddie and Morgan Wallen. Take it away, Eddie. Yeah, man. I'm at NASCAR and we're in the pits and I'm walking towards the pits and Morgan Wallen is walking away from the pits. We pass each other and we connect eyes. I go,
Starting point is 00:04:14 so, dude. And I put my hand out. He goes, hey, man, what's up? You doing all right? And we do daps to each other and then we keep walking. And I was like, that's pretty cool. I tell my wife, that's pretty cool. Morgan Wallen, like, recognize me and knows who I am.
Starting point is 00:04:27 She goes, he didn't recognize you? Like, you just thought you were probably a fan or something. Like, no, no, no. The look in his eyes was like, dude, it's Eddie. What's up? Like, good to see you. You saw it looking in his eye.
Starting point is 00:04:37 He goes, Dude, it's Eddie? Absolutely. There's a different look between like, oh, hey, you're a fan. Thanks for listening to my music. And, hey, I know you. So good to see you. So you think in that brief moment, Morgan Wallen recognized you for you, the Eddie from this show.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Absolutely. But did you call to him first or did he call to you first? We locked eyes, like I said. I'm not worried about locking eyes. Okay. Who said what's up first? Yes. Because that matters.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Okay. So the eyes locked. It's very important. Eyes locked and then we both spot. Stop saying eyes locked. We both smiled. You know, like, oh, it's you. Even I was like, oh, it's Morgan Wallet.
Starting point is 00:05:13 It's Eddie from the Bobby Bone Show. And then I put my hand out first to give him the doubt. So you led in every way. You initiated every part of this. If you want to get technical with it, maybe I let it by split second. Okay. And then we did our little daps. And he said, good to see you, man.
Starting point is 00:05:28 And then he walked up. Good to see you means he's seen me before in my eyes. What it means is, and I have to do this too, I never say nice to meet you, ever. because I may have met them and don't remember. So I say, it's really good to see you. Because that covers you on all basis. And you learn that after you screw up a few times. And you're like, great, nice to meet you.
Starting point is 00:05:45 And they're like, no, no, we met before at this event. You're like, oh, I'm an idiot. So that isn't generally the thing you say when you meet a lot of people is good to see you. And you don't even say good to see you again. That's a bad one too because they're like, we've never seen each other. Yeah, that's right. Good to see you. Good to see you.
Starting point is 00:06:02 But I took it as like, of course, we've seen each other many times. So yeah, good to see you too, man. Okay, Eddie thinks Morgan Wallen recognized him in that brief minute. Is there any chance Morgan Wallen recognized Eddie? I'm leaning towards no. I'm not leaning. I'm falling towards no. Yeah, I'm not on the ground.
Starting point is 00:06:17 I'm falling. It's no. How many times has Morgan been in the studio, guys? Zero. That's not true. Yeah, he's been in here. He's played in here. Yeah, like we've seen him many times.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Lunchbox, do you know what Morgan Wallen looks like? Probably not. You'd think he's been in this studio. Yes, he has. Absolutely. He also played on the St. Jude show he did. he did um what's the slow song that I like
Starting point is 00:06:38 Jason you yeah he did that one he sat right through dude he's been here many times I mean and also you sat with Morgan Wallin at No no I at the yes I know that He would know who I am because I had a great interview No he would have right here we go
Starting point is 00:06:51 Yes he's been in studio I'm looking at pictures of him now in the studio Really? Yes Okay so Anyhoozy The question is Hey guys be truthful Okay
Starting point is 00:07:00 I am truthful did Morgan Wallen recognize Eddie No lunchbox Zero percent chance. What happened is Eddie looked at him in the eyes. He's like, oh, great, I'm about to have an awkward encounter with someone that recognizes me. Cool. Because that's when they locked eyes. He knew that I'm going to have a little interaction.
Starting point is 00:07:15 I'll give him daps, move on, whoever that guy was. No idea who you are. You know, he could have known who you were if it was a small industry event, and he's putting people in places. And you were in the room next to Eddie. Oh, Bobby had to have been there? Well, I don't know. Or his people, probably, but I'm saying. I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:07:33 He could have in a small room where it's like about music and other people are from radio or records. He recognized you. But he's at a NASCAR with 100,000 people. He just sees a random dude coming at him. I'm sure people the whole time are like, Morgan, what's up, buddy? There are times where people will come up to me and be like, Bobby, what's up? Man, just how you been? And I'm like, oh, I must know them.
Starting point is 00:07:52 I'm just going to play like a gnome. And like, I've been good, man. What's happening with you? In reality, they didn't know me. They just knew they came and approached me like a normal person. I would just talk back like, I forgot who they were. but I had no history with him at all. So you don't think he...
Starting point is 00:08:05 No chance. Okay. No chance. So all you guys don't think that he knew who I was. I think he could have in a smaller situation, but at 100,000 people event like NASCAR and you just walking right by him and you going, hey, good to see you. He's just as like, well, I don't want to spend it right on the internet that I'm a bad guy. Hey, man, good to see you too.
Starting point is 00:08:21 I can keep walking. Well, I feel stupid for bringing this up. No, don't. No, I do. Because in my mind, I was like, oh my gosh, this is so cool. Our life really is cool. The fact that Morgan Wall is at a NASCAR race, he sees. me, he's like, oh, it's Eddie, what's up?
Starting point is 00:08:33 He didn't. No, no, you're missing this. I think your life's a little less cool than you think, because that didn't... That's what I thought happened. So you guys are making me feel like it didn't happen. I don't think it happened in the way you think. It's a very romantic version. Locking eyes. You do, we locked eyes for sure.
Starting point is 00:08:46 Morgan, any chance at Morgan Wallen recognized Eddie? No, I don't think so. I think if he recognized you, he'd been like, oh, hey, and ask you specific things about your life. It was fast, guys. We were trying to get somewhere. I was trying to get to the pit. He was trying to get out of it.
Starting point is 00:08:57 So it was very quick. I would even, if I saw Morgan, nah, but even then I would go, if it's quick, maybe he didn't even know who. But no, I think we'd be fine. Okay. He'd come up to an Instagram story sometimes. He does?
Starting point is 00:09:11 Yeah, like, he'll send me messages. But even then, I would be like, if it's a packed event, and he's got so many people talking to him, he's probably not looking at people on the face. He's just trying to get through a crowd. That's what I was thinking, but the fact that he spotted me made him look up and, oh, it's Eddie. He never said it's Eddie.
Starting point is 00:09:25 You've said that four times. That's not a quote. You're right. He already heard in his head. Yeah, that's the other part never happened. Yeah. All right, fine. So everybody goes, no?
Starting point is 00:09:33 No. Ray? No, he was prepped. They said, hey, there's 20 radio people, 20 TV people. No, no, he wasn't prepped. Morgan Wallen was told, hey, just smile. A lot of radio people are going to be in there and they think their germs, they think they know you. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:46 But you weren't in anywhere, right? It doesn't matter. No, the answer's no. We're done. Anybody on this show, what, which define a germ for people? Like a germ? Or is it a germ? What is that?
Starting point is 00:09:56 It's like a super fan who wants to be around him and it's like, oh, yeah, sign this, sign this, get a picture, can I get a good, I'm not a germ. Anybody on this show is. Yeah. All right, there you go. Whatever, guys. Sorry, Eddie, sorry to break your heart for a segment of the day. Good morning, everybody. It's time to check in with the mailbag.
Starting point is 00:10:14 You send an email and we read it on the air. It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Hello, Bobby Bones. We recently moved into our new home in Durham, North Carolina. We love it. but we aren't sure what to do about one issue. The previous owner buried their dog in the middle of our backyard. There's a ring about four feet in diameter filled with wood chips in the center of the lawn.
Starting point is 00:10:37 They left behind a statue memorializing their pet. We love our pets too. We understand why they did this, but wish they had chosen a spot in the woods behind the property. What should we do? Do we dig the pet up? If we dig it up, do we rebary it? Do we pretend that it's just not there? We're thinking the ring would make a nice fire pit or a garden or we could just plant grass.
Starting point is 00:11:00 It all feels pretty weird knowing how sacred of a spot this seemed to be for the previous family. Warm regards, Chris and Durham. That's interesting. You don't owe that family keeping the dog in that backyard. It's weird to think about digging something up. You could probably hire somebody to do it for a hundred bucks. But you don't have to leave a dead dog that's buried back through the statue in your yard. It wasn't your dog.
Starting point is 00:11:21 Could you just leave it buried but cover it up? You could, but I... You could, but it sounds like it's actually something that you can see. It's probably wouldn't bury deep enough to just go move on with our life. You could dig it deeper and push it down, I guess. But don't feel bad. If you want to pull the dog up or have somebody pull the dog up, pull the dog up. Go bury it in the woods behind the house.
Starting point is 00:11:42 Can you contact the realtor to get the family so they can get their dog? You can do any of that. Why wouldn't they take it? My only point is you do not have to leave that dog in the backyard if it looks like something. You don't have to do anything in the backyard. It's your backyard. Yeah. Wasn't your dog?
Starting point is 00:11:55 So it's a weird situation. Never thought about that. But if you want to dig it up, if you want to leave it, if you want to have somebody move it, it's all good because it's your yard. It wasn't your dog. Now, if somebody's me as mall is buried back there, it's a little different. Probably a little bit different. I wouldn't dig that thing up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:15 But I'm totally cool with you making your backyard your backyard. And weird to bury a dog right in the middle of a backyard, even if it is your dog. Maybe in the back corner. but you're in the middle. Yeah, I think we typically did corners. Like, I'm trying to think of how many pets are buried in my child at home. There's cats and hamsters and all kinds of things. I remember when my dog, Dusty died, and I had Dusty.
Starting point is 00:12:35 I got him in Austin. And most of his life he lived in Austin until we came to Nashville. And that was my best friend. And so when he died, I was like, dang, I want to do something with his ashes because he meant so much to me, all in my 20s and early 30s. That dog was to me wherever I went through the good times, the bad. And I went and I snuck into the backyard of a house. used to live in in Austin and dumped the ashes in the backyard
Starting point is 00:12:55 in the middle of the day when people are home. And I was like, I felt like I was like a burglar. And I snuck in and dumped the ash and jumped the fence and got back out. So, like, I get it. I get the dog and respecting that, but you can move it. Anybody think you can't move it, by the way? Yeah, I think we're all pretty good. It's just weird.
Starting point is 00:13:10 It'll feel weird. And I wonder if the body's even there. I wouldn't even move it. Like decomposed. Yeah. We just grass over it or build that fire pit. If you can, it sounds though, like the wood, like, again, is there's just something. If you can make it go away anyway, you want to cover it great.
Starting point is 00:13:23 Unless it's like the hum's too high now. Like if you cover it, they didn't go low enough. I get that. Yeah, that'd be weird. But don't feel weird. The statue also pretty funky in the middle of a backyard. You can't even play flag football. They're going to trip over a statue.
Starting point is 00:13:37 Chris, do your thing. Your backyard. Thank you for emailing. Close it out. We got your email and we read it on the air. Now it's about to close Bobby's mail back. Yeah. We're about to get into Fun Fact Friday.
Starting point is 00:13:51 But first, a listener fun fact. from Bree in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. For anyone who watches golf, they might know that Phil Mickelson is known as lefty for golfing left-handed, but did you know that in real life he is actually right-handed? So if you asked him for an autograph or something,
Starting point is 00:14:08 he would grab a pen with his right hand. He is only a lefty golfer because he was watching his dad chip away and was just mirroring him what he was doing. So that's the story. Love the show. It's pretty cool. That's really cool.
Starting point is 00:14:21 It's awesome. Like if you played guitar, like I'm left-handed when I play guitar, if I'd have had a dad and he would have played guitar, I could have watched him play guitar and learned. Yes. But instead, I had night, so he didn't play guitar and he wasn't there. Oh, gosh. So I mirror him by always leaving. Okay. Got to go.
Starting point is 00:14:41 See you later. Thank you for that. That's pretty fun fact. I liked it. That's how he learned. That's a pretty cool thing to do. Fun fact Friday. All right, five to one.
Starting point is 00:14:50 Amy has scoured. the internet. These are the five most fun facts she has found. Let's go. Number five. Until the 1960s, the most reliable pregnancy test was injecting a woman's pee into a frog. What? Yeah. Until the 60s? And what does the frog do? That sounds like some 1722. I know. That's a good part. Yeah. Does the frog rib it or something? There's two things that I was able to find. They'll break out in this little like fungus, these little black and white spots on their back if it's a positive. or they lay eggs the next day. That's wild to think that's a real story?
Starting point is 00:15:28 That is a real story. Yes. Fact checked it. Frog's chilling. He's like, great, here comes the doctor again. Poor frog. He's like, I'm either about to have babies, I'm going to break out. I know.
Starting point is 00:15:37 That's crazy until the 60s. That is why. Yeah, it was the most reliable way to do it. Wow. I don't want to the second most reliable way. Dang. All right, four, let's go. Number four.
Starting point is 00:15:47 The word selfie was used for the first time in an online message. board in 2002. A guy in Australia posted a photo of his lip after he cut it drinking at a friend's 21st birthday party. Selfie. It's interesting. You know, people will claim they've invented the selfie. I think Paris Hilton claims that she invented it. I saw an old picture, though, of maybe like, I don't know, was somebody in like the 60s that took a picture of themselves in the mirror and they were like, no, this is the first selfie. But I don't think a mirror picture is a selfie. I think a selfie's got to be turned at you that way, right?
Starting point is 00:16:22 Yeah, and we did it a lot when we had those disposable cameras, remember? And then you would wait to get it developed and you're like, well, we didn't, none of us are in the picture. We did that wrong. But I guess we just didn't, like, term it. Yeah, we didn't call it a selfie. That's interesting that we used to do that, and they always sucked. All of them did. And you have to wait, like, days to find out.
Starting point is 00:16:41 Kids don't even know, you didn't get pictures back then. You had to go and take them to a store, take a camera to a store, and leave it. And then you get them back and almost all the pictures sucked. Dude, it was groundbreaking when they said you can come back in an hour and get it. We're like an hour. Yeah. Just yesterday we were injecting frogs with pee. Now we get it back in an hour?
Starting point is 00:16:59 Yeah. All right. Let's do another one. Number three. Strict parents may turn their kids into better liars because children who are afraid of telling the truth may learn deceptive behaviors to avoid getting in trouble. Who will say they had strict parents? I did. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:14 Very strict parents. Do you feel like you're a pretty good liar? No, and I'm not a good liar. Sometimes lie, but not a good liar. Yeah, you lie all the time. You say you're working until 3 o'clock. No, that's not lying. I'm at work till 3 o'clock. Well, okay. You're here. Therefore, I am working until 3 o'clock. Amy, your parents?
Starting point is 00:17:32 My dad was not strict at all. I had no rules, no curfew, could do whatever I wanted, had a bunch of parties at his house. My mom was the stricter of the two, but I wouldn't define her as super, super strict. But I definitely had rules with her. Yeah, similarly, my dad had no rules for me either. Oh, gosh. He wasn't. Oh, boy. Go ahead, because he wasn't.
Starting point is 00:17:52 He never gave me a single rule. But why? I don't know. Maybe I just never heard him. Because he wasn't. Wasn't there. I had no rules. My mom even.
Starting point is 00:18:02 I mean, I ran carefree. Never got in trouble, really. But you didn't break rules, though, either. You don't have them. You can't break them, though, I always say. Like, I could run free. Like, I had no rules, but I still broke rules. like had underage parties.
Starting point is 00:18:16 And like, my friend Scott got arrested from my dad's house once when I wasn't even there because I had a curfew at my mom's house. It was not good. It was not good. All right, next one. Number two. Tupac auditioned for the role of Bubba in Forrest Gump. He obviously didn't get it.
Starting point is 00:18:34 The role went to Michael T. Williamson. But other people that the role was offered to and they straight up turned it down, Ice Cube and Dave Chappelle. I wonder if they regret. I read it after Forrest Scum became a major hit. It had just been played differently. Very different. Dave Chappelle would have...
Starting point is 00:18:50 They both have been very different. Ice Cube's like, no, Forrest, chich. At Tupac too. All right, next. Number one. Teddy Roosevelt once delivered an 84-minute speech after being shot in the chest by an assassin. And he had a little thing in his pocket, like hit it,
Starting point is 00:19:09 and he stayed up and gave speech. So he wasn't hurt when he got shot? He was hurt. He was. But he kind of checked to see if he was coughing, He was like, okay, I'm all good, kept talking. And he said, ladies and gentlemen, I don't know whether you fully understand that I've been shot. But it takes more than that to kill a bull moose, end quote.
Starting point is 00:19:25 He was a bull moose? He's a man's, man. Back in the day. This is a tough dude. You know, right? Men would cut a little different back then. That's right. All right, that's your five fun facts.
Starting point is 00:19:36 Amy, thank you. Fun fact Friday. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan number two's 30 Second Skinny. Luke Bryan released a new song. It's called Country On. Hey, hey, USA. We ain't seen our bad days.
Starting point is 00:19:55 Hey, y'all. Country on. Little Big Town dropped a new song called All Summer. Dustin Lynch has a new song out today. It's called Fish in the Sea. And Kylie in the sky, all the bangs, just a wave of my world is goodbye. Light of fish and sea. Look at that one's kissing on me.
Starting point is 00:20:38 And Kylie Morgan's new album, PS, is out today. I'm Morgan. That's her skinny. Come on. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So I got to give a shout out to this guy, Charlie Houser out in California.
Starting point is 00:20:53 He owns an athletic club. and when he learned of a nearby veteran housing facility that needed, like, gym equipment, and he's like, whoa, I actually have some equipment I could donate. This is a place that houses, like, 600 homeless veterans. And part, like, working out is part of keeping your brain and your body healthy. Well, he was able to pack up 15,000 pounds worth of gym equipment in a loading truck, drove it down there, and donated it to these veterans. All the veterans are jacked now walking around.
Starting point is 00:21:25 It's completely yoked out of their minds. Yeah. It's funny they say 15,000 pounds. Like it's meat or something. Yeah. But I do think they're just like trying to emphasize it as some heavy equipment. Yeah. Because those weights, they get pretty heavy.
Starting point is 00:21:38 No, no, no, you're right. Whenever I had to order some weights for our house, they get like little plates and stuff so I can lift it home if, you know, it's, I don't know. I just have them. Okay. I don't know why. But they mail them to you. And it's extremely heavy.
Starting point is 00:21:51 Yeah. Like they sent, they have to send the 45 pound weights individually. and they come in a box it's 45 pounds. Who knew? Well, yeah. I don't know. I just like, I was like, this thing's so heavy. How do they mail this? And Caitlin's like, well,
Starting point is 00:22:05 you ordered a 45 pound weight, what did you want? I was like, I don't know. I don't know. I didn't think about it. That's a good story. What's his name again? Charlie Hauser. All right, Charlie Hauser, good for you. It's awesome. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Starting point is 00:29:04 That's from the voice. You've been boo. Wow, the champ goes down. Wow. I'm not clapping. That's Amy. Well, hey, we got to celebrate. Hey, Morgan, what's the answer?

Starting point is 00:29:25 Somebody's going to get a point. Which, by the way, Well, what are you doing? Eddie's got one point this season and new season. You guys all together have zero. U.S. trivia, Amy. Next category. U.S. trivia.
Starting point is 00:29:40 How many states did the U.S. start with? It started with 13. Is that your answer? Why are you looking at me like wrong? Because you say your sentence is weird. It started with 13. Your answer is? Thirteen.
Starting point is 00:29:57 Correct. Lunchbox, what was the first name of John F. Kennedy's wife? What? What was the first name of John F. Kennedy's wife? Why would I know that? She's not... Who cares about her? What does she do? That's not nice.
Starting point is 00:30:20 I love the United States of America. We think it is. Like, list out a few names you think it could possibly be. I mean, the only one of them... I mean, it doesn't sound right, but... I'm thinking Mary, but that doesn't sound right. John F. Kennedy's wife. I have no idea.
Starting point is 00:30:40 I mean, I've never seen this woman in my life. We'll go with Mary. I have no idea. You've been bowed. Jackie Kennedy. Jackie O'Nastis. Pink dress. I don't know who she is. Very famous.
Starting point is 00:30:54 I've heard the name, but I don't know her. I'm iconic look. Morgan, if you get this, you're still in it. Okay, hopefully. If you miss it, Amy wins. Come on, Morgan. I know. Wait.
Starting point is 00:31:03 That was impossible. Just for the game. Mine was hard. Make it interesting. Morgan, what was the last state to join the United States? Great question, Bobby. What then I don't know? What was the last? What do you think? I'm like, you're not committed to anything.
Starting point is 00:31:19 What was the last state to join the United States? I mean, maybe Hawaii or Alaska because they're all the way out there and it started in the Northeast. It moved in that direction. One of them. I'm going to go. I'm going to go with a. Alaska. Alaska joined January 3rd, 1959. Hawaii joined in 1959, but August 21st.
Starting point is 00:31:47 Dang it! I did have the two correct ones, though. The answer was in Hawaii, but Amy is your winner. Wow. Just like that. It's a quick game, guys. That was weird. That's a quick one.
Starting point is 00:32:00 I don't even know that I feel like I can properly celebrate. You can't because you won. No doubt about it. You just happen to be first. That's like when the opposing team, they all get hurt. And it was like, well, I guess. I guess the other team's going to win. No, no, you missed questions.
Starting point is 00:32:11 You didn't get injured, guys. I didn't miss my. There was nothing that kept you from performing at your best. You just didn't. Like, everyone broke their legs. No, no, that's not a good one. No, I want to go with that. Okay, I'll take it.
Starting point is 00:32:20 Amy, congratulations. Thank you. Truck driver bought a scratch-off lottery ticket in Michigan. He won $2,000. He's freaking out because I'd have been freaking out, too. Screw up, $500. I'd have been freaking out if I won that money. And so he goes in with a $2,000 winner, but he won a million dollars.
Starting point is 00:32:37 Huh? He bought his mystery, multiple. player scratch off ticket. He goes, I'm a truck driver. I buy lottery tickets. I scratch the barcode and scan the ticket when I got the message. I assumed I'd won one of the $2,000 prizes because I was like the big prize that you could win right then. He said, but when I got back to my truck, I said something about a million, so I kept scratching. He won $1 million. He called the lottery office. He got a million bucks. That's wild. I mean, I'd have been on Cloud 9, but $2,000. Like, you just seen me high on the hog, $2,000. And then to be told me, he told me,
Starting point is 00:33:08 it was a million bucks, that is crazy. Buy your own truck. I think you missed the point there. He's a former truck driver probably. He didn't quit. He didn't say a former truck driver. I mean, not everybody's going to quit their job. And he's probably going to get $570,000.
Starting point is 00:33:25 I mean, you probably live off that for 10 years, right? You can pay off your house and maybe you get a car, but then you got to keep working. They take that many taxes out? Yeah. It's almost 50%. Exactly. Isn't that terrible? We talk about that all the time.
Starting point is 00:33:36 I know, but when he broke it down like that, I'm like, dang, that's a lot of money. Showbiz, baby. It is. The Bible Ball Show. Here's Amy's pile of stories. Before I get into day drinking tips, if you are hosting a Fourth or July party, you're looking at about $7 per person.
Starting point is 00:33:52 $7 a head if you're going to be grilling out. That doesn't include alcohol. No. This is like food. That's just cheap hot dogs. You should have it. Yeah, but some people are going to want burgers and somebody's going to want steak. Well, no.
Starting point is 00:34:02 There's no menu at the party. I think that's a low. I think that's low. That's shooting it low. What about gas? What about propane for the tank? Oh, yeah. You know what stinks?
Starting point is 00:34:11 And you're like, all right, let's grill. And you go and there's no propane in the tank. The flame just gets smaller and smaller. So then you have to go to the store right then. Yeah. Oh, that's difficult. However, I'll say this. At tractor supply on the app, it's not a commercial.
Starting point is 00:34:24 You just go, boom, push it, propane tank, go up, switch it out, boom, done. Let's go. It's awesome. Yeah, it's awesome. All right, go ahead with the day drinking stuff. So, first of all, don't start the day with a hangover. So if you know you're going to be having a party. That's always the goal, right?
Starting point is 00:34:34 No. Don't drink the day before. Just save it for the day of. Is that like Thanksgiving? Like if you want to eat plenty of food, don't eat the day before. Also, eat a lot throughout the day. Continuing to eat food will help your body absorb the alcohol that way you don't get too tipsy. Pace yourself, don't do shots or jello shots, stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:34:54 That's going to be tough. That sounds boring. What kind of party is this? Go ahead. You can just have a good time. And then also remember, water is your friend. Drink it often. One glass of water for every two drinks.
Starting point is 00:35:05 is the perfect ratio. Okay, got it. Not for me, but I'll pass it along in case any of my friends need it. All right, what else? Team Toby had to hit up social media warning Toby Keith fans that he will never personally contact you
Starting point is 00:35:18 or request money, and you should report any accounts that are doing this. Because he's not asking for money. I grab my phone real quick. Crap. There's been several posts lately, especially regarding Toby's health
Starting point is 00:35:30 and saying that he's asking for money to help him out there. That's a good way for the scammers to get them. I know. He said he had cancer. If I was a scammer, I'd be like, oh, let's say, oh. But there's not a blue check mark. They ain't, don't give them anything.
Starting point is 00:35:43 And the only blue check mark that's going to ask for anything is Cole Swindell. Right. Because he's constantly like, hey, man, can I get a gift card to Apple? So other than that, I'll get, but yes, don't give any. An artist is not going to ask you for money ever. They're not going to say, hey, I want to be your secret boyfriend. That happens to. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Just if, unless they have a blue check mark, don't talk with them. Period. All right, what else? Well, speaking of Toby Keith, I'm giving him the, most patriotic song in America with red, white, and blue. Ooh. Hold on, that's all right.
Starting point is 00:36:11 Pertacy. Yeah. Okay. Well, speaking of Toby Keith, we're going to give him the most patriotic country song with courtesy of the red, white, and blue. Okay, fine.
Starting point is 00:36:25 If we're taking Lee Greenwood, God bless the USA. We are. Out of the mix. That's the only way it would win. Yeah. What else you got there? You got a list or just that one?
Starting point is 00:36:34 What about only in America from Brooks and Dunn? That's a good one. To America. I forgot about that one. And I like that this song doesn't even feel like it's just made to be a patriotic song. Like Toby Keats feels like he was trying to make a patriotic song to get people to go, yeah. This just sounds like a really good song that's about America.
Starting point is 00:36:51 You know? What else? Independence Day, Martina McRae. Oh, yeah. Independence Day. This one's not patriotic to me. It's about a woman bringing herself of abuse. It's not about the Fourth of July.
Starting point is 00:37:04 And mom, maybe the music video makes me think. otherwise. It was. It seems like about a relationship. I know Concrete Angels, maybe she has a couple of these. Apparently after 9-11, it came back because it was a hit in the 90s, and then after 9-11, people started playing it again after that.
Starting point is 00:37:20 Okay. All right, well, I don't really hear this as a song about Independence Day the holiday. It's about a human and a woman, and it's Independence Day for me. Yeah. But what do I know? Yeah, I don't really listen to the lyrics, so I always thought it was about Fourth of July. Wow. That was Amy's pile of
Starting point is 00:37:36 stories. Come on. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Stay home, it's something good. When Bo Dowling was just a toddler, he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and he's been battling it for years. He's seven years old now.
Starting point is 00:37:51 And he got a dream come true. He's a big Chicago White Sox fan. So before the White Sox and Orioles game, he got to go down on the field, swing the bat at home plate, run the bases. And the Orioles and the White Sox lined up along the base path and just gave him a high fives as he went down the line. That's awesome. Pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:38:09 That's really cool. Listen, I'd like to do that. I know he's seven. Today, you like to do that. Like, I would like to do that. When we went to watch Oklahoma playing the national championship game in softball, and they win the national championship, I told Kayla's like, hey, you think we'll go on the field?
Starting point is 00:38:23 Because we know the Oklahoma coach really well. And so she's like, you probably, why? I don't know. I want to run the bases. I just want to, like, okay. So did you get on the field? Oh, yeah. Yeah, we were right down.
Starting point is 00:38:35 Did you run the bases? Well, they wouldn't let us down at first because, right, it's a national championship. There's dog piling and holding the trophy up. And I'm like, I want to go on the field. And there's security everywhere to keep people from going on the field, idiots like me. And so we had to get the coach to come up and be like, they can come down. And so she did. Now I got out there.
Starting point is 00:38:52 And I was like, this is awesome. Did you touch the trophy? Yeah. That's cool. Yeah, we got a touch the trophy. We got a picture of us. I didn't want to hold the national championship trophy because I didn't deserve it. Not my team.
Starting point is 00:39:01 Caitlin's team, Oklahoma. Does she hold it? Patty Gassow, the head coach of Oklahoma. family-in-law, right? But we had a picture with Patty holding the trophy. I was like, I will not allow myself to touch this, not my trophy. I don't deserve it. If Arkansas won it, I'd be butt-necked on that thing.
Starting point is 00:39:17 Yeah. Yes. But that is a great story. Thank you, Lunchbox. Good for that kid. Good for those teams. That is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good.
Starting point is 00:39:27 This is Nicole from Henderson, Texas. I always have been here as a show. It's my favorite part of my morning. guys always brighten up my morning. But that's all I want to say, okay, thank you. I appreciate that. Here's Mike from the Woodlands. Morning Studio, have a morning corny and my wife.
Starting point is 00:39:49 A fun and fine. Fawn. Okay. That's funny. That's pretty good, Mike. All right, let's go over to Amy and get in that morning corny. The morning corny. What's worse than raining cats and dogs?
Starting point is 00:40:04 What's worse than raining cats and dogs? Hailing taxis. Oh, like if they're falling in. We'd all done. That was the morning corny. Coming up in the mailbag, a couple bought a new home, but the previous owner buried their dog in the backyard, and they're like, what do we do?
Starting point is 00:40:21 Because we can see the hump. There's something there. Do we remove the dog? I'll read you the email. We'll talk about that. And then Scotty McCurry comes in, and I got to have the conversation. Well, two of them, one, I can't say the title of a song.
Starting point is 00:40:33 So I'm going to pitch an idea at him. And then two, I was with them. And something really awkward happened when I was with them. them and I want to bring it up and see if even remembers it. Top shelf countrycrues.com On the Bobby Bones show now Scotty McCreary Scottie, what's up, buddy?
Starting point is 00:44:16 What's going on, man, how you doing? Hey, pretty good. You know what I was thinking about because, and I'll talk to you in a minute about, you're about to have a baby, but what if that baby comes out and you're in the room and it cries like this?
Starting point is 00:44:25 Whir. I think that would scare everybody in there. That'd be hilarious. Like, it comes out with his voice already. They're like, something's wrong. Ugh. No, that's just how it cries, man. I don't know. Good to talk to you. Scotty. How's everything been?
Starting point is 00:44:41 It's great. It's been an exciting few weeks for us, so we're flying high. Yeah, and let's get back to that baby in a second. Question for you, do you and your wife could be, do you guys have a song? Like when you think about being a couple, do you have a single song that's like, that's our song? I mean, in my mind, like our first dance with Elvis can't help fall in love. That would be my pick. What would she say, though? She'd probably pick like a Chesney song or something.
Starting point is 00:45:06 So you don't have a single song that you're like, this is our song. You each have your own version of that. Probably. I'm not sure if we played the couples game that we would pick the same song. I don't think so. Have you seen the Elvis movie? I know at least you were a big Elvis guy. Dude, I just watched it last night.
Starting point is 00:45:24 It was incredible. Now, they were telling me it's shot kind of funny, not a straight biopic. Give me your review of the Elvis movie and why it was a little different. See, I don't think you can shoot, if you really, really want to do Elvis, I don't think it can be just so straightforward, like a walk-to-line or something. I mean, Elvis was, in my mind, one of the most unique characters to ever come through Planet Earth. So I think it did the great job. I think Austin Butler came about as close as you can to really portraying Elvis. I was, you see, she said she just looked over at me the whole
Starting point is 00:45:57 time, and I just had to screen on my face the whole movie. So it was, I thought it was awesome. If you were to Mount Rushmore Elvis songs, meaning you got four, you're going to carve them in stone, they're going to be there forever. What are the four, Scotty McCurry, favorite Elvis songs? I think you have to start with that's all right, mama, kind of the one that got him going. Suspicious Minds, got it to be up there. Blue Swede Shoes, probably Hound Dog. I mean, there's so many.
Starting point is 00:46:23 Those are the first one of the couple of times. Terrible, terrible four. Because you totally forgot about, yeah, terrible four. I've heard way better. You're like Teddy Bear, oh, let me be, bop, bam, bum. Your teddy bear. Come on. That's prime.
Starting point is 00:46:36 I'm not sure if you just ask the random guy on the street, Teddy Bear would be in their top four, but I like it. I like it. Yeah, I'm done with this interview. I have no more space for this guy. Scotty McCreary is on with us. Hey, did you know, and you probably don't, but I will not say the name of your song. I did hear that. No, I did. I listen to y'all show. Protest, protest. I appreciate, I understand. I appreciate Amy giving the love. No problem. That's true. So even when we do the countdown, You know, and I used to say a lot of curse words or bad words. And some people don't even consider it a bad word.
Starting point is 00:47:12 But when I write and when I do comedy, I don't want to think bad words. So I just don't say them, not because I think I'm better than them. So I don't say it. And it's weird for me. And I'll go, all right, here we go to number 16 on the countdown. And Amy will go. Damn straight. No, no.
Starting point is 00:47:28 So. I love it. It sounds better when Amy says it anyway. But no, I get it. I even try to, I try to really be clean as far as the curse words until I get a the golf course, and then I just really can't help myself. But other than that, I'm right there with you. Is there any way, and I'm going to ask a big favor, I didn't think about this until now,
Starting point is 00:47:44 is there any way next time you're playing guitar, you know, and there's a microphone around, maybe you cut me a version of Dang Straight. Dang Straight. Dang straight. I'm in the studio right now, so I can cut you that really. See? This is a little something we can play. I'll be like, all right, guys, you know me, I want to hear of a little version of Dang
Starting point is 00:47:59 Strait from Scott and McCurry. And then people be like, what the heck is this? I think Dang Straight is. Yeah. Play that on Disney Radio, too. It's like there's explicit and then clean. Explicit's hilarious. Scotty McCreery explicit song.
Starting point is 00:48:10 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Scotty McCreary is on with us. And I'm going to play the song in a second because it's massive and, you know, it's probably going to be your fifth number one, I think. So we're going to get to that. But it brings me to a point, an awkward conversation. And I like Scotty a lot. Like if I see Scotty out, love to have a good conversation with Scottie outside
Starting point is 00:48:28 of work. And we were in Austin and it was me and Scotty and Thomas Rett. And we're talking about golf. and, you know, sometimes I don't fit in the group. I'm just standing there and we're all talking a little bit, and Scottie and T.R. is talking like, hey, Scott is like, you ever come to North Carolina? T.R. I won't you come? I'll take you over the course. You're touring through.
Starting point is 00:48:46 And I was like, you know, I'm just kind of waiting. I'm like, well, I try. I tore a lot. And I'm just sitting. I'm waiting. I'm like, yeah, I like, I like, I like, all right, I guess we got to go. He invited TR five feet from me. And Scott, he never said, hey, Bobby, if you come through North Carolina, I'll take you to my club or course. Right in front of my face, he didn't invite me.
Starting point is 00:49:05 Oh, man. I had no idea. I made you feel that with Bobby, but I do apologize. Do you remember that conversation? I was mainly thinking like the sheds and stuff, like the amphitheaters that TR's playing. It's really close to where I play golf. Yes or no. Do you remember the conversation, Scotty McCrory? Oh, I do. It was right before we all kind of went on stage when we were taking that picture. Do you see how sad my face was? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:26 Think back. You see how sad my face was not being invited, feeling junior high again? Not at all, man. I didn't even think of that. I apologize about it. That's all. You're more than welcome. I don't even want your pity. You're more than welcome. That's what you say to people when they've pitied you. All right.
Starting point is 00:49:43 So, we're going to talk in a second about this baby. Scotty McCurry is on. All joking aside, I really do like Scotty. But I'm going to play the song here that's about to be a number one. Amy, do you want to set it up for me?
Starting point is 00:49:53 Sure. The whole thing, you don't want to say, you normally say his name and then I say the song. You know what? My mouth won't even say his name right now. I'm so, I'm so disappointed.
Starting point is 00:50:01 That's a bad word to me too. Go ahead, Amy. All right, well, here we're going to play a song about one of my favorites in country music, which would be George Strait, and it's just genius work. Scottie McCreary, Damn Straight. On the Bobby Bone Show now. Scotty McCreary. Scott, you're doing a lot of shows this summer and this fall.
Starting point is 00:50:22 Whenever you play your set, what song do they sing back the loudest? Damn straight is definitely leading the pack with that right now just because it's fresh. But I think my favorite one is when we do this is it, and I kind of let them take the bridge and it's always very loud and very special especially when good these out there yeah that's a good one what's the bridge like what's of this is it give me the first couple words let me see if i know it it's like the now you're walking out of the aisle i can't help the smile and then it goes into the the part that they really take is when i go back into it and say take my hand and then uh you go into the last chorus from there but that's a good one's a cool part of the
Starting point is 00:50:57 show whenever you write a song or you start to sing a song that that you're you record and it does touch an emotional place, especially early when you do it. Do you ever get emotional the first couple times you have to play something new that when you wrote it was an emotional thing? I mean, I still get emotional with five more minutes, and I wrote that song seven years ago. Like a few nights ago, we were playing a show at Brooks and Dunn in West Virginia, and my granddaddy who I wrote the song for us from West Virginia. And the whole time I'm singing it, I'm thinking, man, granddaddy would totally be here right now wearing his mountaineer sweatshirt. I just kind of get lost in the lights up above.
Starting point is 00:51:33 It kind of got me. So, yeah, I get probably emotional all the time. I bet you that song could make you emotional for a lot of different reasons because that song kind of covers a lot of emotional ground, like different subjects. So I could definitely see where if you're in a place that your grandfather would love and you're singing that five, you know, and the song, you know, alludes to that. I can see where you'd get emotional at that. You ever gotten so emotional, you have to stop?
Starting point is 00:51:58 For sure. With that song a few different times. Because, again, it doesn't hit you every night. Every night you know it's special, and you can look at it in the crowd, and there's somebody, you know, tearing up. And that song means a lot to them. But for me, whether it's Granddaddy or when I've lost a couple buddies from high school and, you know, that song just kind of takes you back to memories with them.
Starting point is 00:52:20 I'm thinking of good times, you know, I'm missing them, but I think when I'm singing it, I'm reminiscing on the good times, and that's kind of what gets me. Scottie McCurry announced pretty recently that they're going to have a baby. It's the first baby. What was that conversation with your wife on when you tell the public and how you tell the public? What was that like? Luckily, me and me and me are normally pretty on the same page when it comes to public stuff and the limelight.
Starting point is 00:52:44 I kind of stray away from it, and she's kind of totally fine, staying away from it. So we were like, let's milk this thing as long as we can without telling anybody, just family and friends. And then, I mean, kind of when we have to tell, we'll tell. and she's starting to show pretty good. So we were on the same page there, and it went really well. And it's been a very heartwarming week, I would say, just all the texts and people reaching out. It's been very, very sweet. How did you guys find out it was going to be a boy?
Starting point is 00:53:14 Did you do any sort of, like, gender reveal cake or light a forest on fire blue or anything like that? No, we didn't do any of that. We both wanted to wait until our 20-week ultrasound and just kind of have a little bit of suspense. So we both found out in the room. And I was 100% it was going to be a girl. Like I'm the only boy on both sides of my family. Gavis, one of two sisters. I just knew it was going to be a boy.
Starting point is 00:53:40 And my uncles were going to tell me, well, it doesn't matter if you're on 10 or 11. You've got to keep trying because you're the last McCreary. But yeah, right out of the gate with the boy. It's crazy. When it comes to picking a name, I'm not going to ask you what you guys are talking about. I think that's a private thing you'll share when you're ready. But who has – are you guys pretty much on the same page? who kind of has taken the lead and picking the name?
Starting point is 00:54:00 Yeah, I think we just go off each other, and she'll throw a name out, I'll throw a name out. And it just kind of comes out randomly, too. Like, I don't think we've sat down and, like, gone over a list or really tried to hammer down a name. And we're not, we haven't picked one out yet, but it'll just be like over dinner and we'll be eating chips and salsa. And all of a sudden, it's like, what about this name? What about salsa? Oh, wow. Or chip.
Starting point is 00:54:21 Yeah, salsa. Do you guys get to veto? If someone goes veto, it never gets brought up again? I don't think anything. been vetoed yet, but there's definitely just been the ones where I don't, I don't like that one more. I don't like this one. But we're pretty on the same page of things. So I think we'll land on something good. Do you have a no touching policy in pictures? I don't think so. I mean, I've given plenty of hugs and stuff. Well, listen, I try to touch people in pictures. So I keep
Starting point is 00:54:48 my hands to my side for the most part. I guess, Amy, you took a picture with him? Well, yeah, when we were at IHeart Country after our interview, we took a picture and we had a standby side. side by side, and we put our arms around each other, but your arm stayed five inches from my back, like you were hovering it in the air to be... I think I've always kind of done that just as a respect thing, just in the meat grease and stuff, especially with ladies. I think I've always kind of done that.
Starting point is 00:55:14 But as far as no touching, like I've given hugs and stuff in pictures and things. I act like I'm on a roller coaster in pictures. I hold my hands in the air. I'm like, ah, I never want anybody to say I was doing anything fishy. So, oh, listen, Scotty, congratulations, man. you have another monster song. It's really cool to see, you know, all of your success.
Starting point is 00:55:31 And you always love when a good guy keeps winning. So super proud for you. Scotty's going to be out on the road. I mean, he's got a lot of shows. You can go over to his website, Scotty McCurry.com. Shows all the way until December 9th. And here's what I know. Cribs ain't cheap.
Starting point is 00:55:44 You know what I mean? So go to a show, buy some merch, help the guy get him a crib, you know? So he's on the road. That's awesome. Well, good to talk to you, my friend. And congratulations. and we'll talk to you soon. Appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:55:57 Good chatting with y'all. We'll see you soon. All right. See, Scottie. All right. A little later, but let's get to the most important segment of the day. It's the big stories. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:56:12 Stories. All right, Scooby, you can do it, buddy. Hold on. Shut it down. Shut it down. Shut it down. Shut it down. Scooba is in running the board today. Oh, boy. It's been tough, right? Yeah, well, then now a rookie.
Starting point is 00:56:28 Rookie today. Ray usually does it. No, you're a rookie. I've been doing it or I haven't done it in eight years, but I would. But you're like a peepaaw who comes back and it's like, no, back in our day, we played baseball with the milk carton. It's not the same game, Grandpa. It's not, but it's like you go to someone's house and you go to the kitchen, you're like, where are your cups and straws and all those things? I know how to use them, but I don't know where the heck they're at.
Starting point is 00:56:46 Okay, that's not a cup and a straw. So there's a button. Yes, yeah. What's going to happen is you hit that button. Yes, I haven't now. And there's a voice that goes, it's big stories. And then you have to turn the music down a little bit. So I can talk over it, but you want to keep it at an appropriate level.
Starting point is 00:57:02 So they can still hear it, but it not, like, be over the top of me. Okay. Yeah, and you found the straws, but you kept stopping it in the middle of, like, pulling straw. You're trying to drink out of the handle of the cup. That's what it is. That's not a straw. That's the handle of the cup. Okay.
Starting point is 00:57:13 Can I try it now and see if it works? Go. All right, here we go. All right, here we go. An Austin woman suspected of killing a cyclist is captured by authorities in Costa Rica. Caitlin Marie Armstrong, the Austin woman suspected of killing rising cyclist star Mariah Wilson May has been captured. U.S. Marshals have confirmed this. Apparently it happened on Thursday.
Starting point is 00:57:39 The Marshall's office and Homeland Security went down, located her, and arrested her. Investigators had discovered that she, using a fake passport or fraudulent, whatever that means, had boarded a flight and went down to San Jose Costa Rica. They also found she'd been practicing yoga, which is a big hobby of hers. that's the first thing you got to do. If you're going to run for the law, don't do your old hobbies anymore. Yeah, change your life.
Starting point is 00:57:59 Yeah, but if she just killed someone, she needs to calm her. There's something else. She needs to calm. Yeah, she needs to not do what she used to do at all.
Starting point is 00:58:06 Yeah. So she signed up for classes using the same alias that she used to book the flight to Costa Rica. Oh. Yeah, she's not very thorough. But I'm glad they got her.
Starting point is 00:58:15 Yeah, that's terrible. Oh, that's from Cave View. Costa Rica, though. Pretty cool. Pretty nice. Yeah. Yeah, spent over a month there. Doing Snake in the grass.
Starting point is 00:58:24 Also on the news, and this thing frightening looking but also super cute it is a giant African snail they found them in Florida and if I were to compare this snail to a basketball
Starting point is 00:58:37 think about holding a basketball and you're like do your arm like you're holding a baby and you put a basketball in that elbow that little hook in your elbow on the inside a basketball that's the size of the snail
Starting point is 00:58:49 it is wild that's crazy so the reappearance of an invasive of snail species forced state officials to enact a quarantine order last week for residents of Pascoe County, an area north of Tampa along the Gulf Coast. We got a lot of listeners there. It's known as the giant African land snail. Do you see a picture of a lunchbox?
Starting point is 00:59:09 Yes. That is crazy. Huge. And so what do you mean quarantine? Because they're going to attack them? What's going on? So a division of Florida's Department of Agriculture that manages pest control surveyed the region for additional snail sightings once the mandate was in place, giant African
Starting point is 00:59:24 snails wreak havoc on parts of Florida. They are not native of the state. Out of boy, scuba. Scuba's like listen to the dance mix back there behind me or something. You got it. Turn it up. And so in 1960s, apparently, some of them escaped and like people had them.
Starting point is 00:59:40 And they get into different parts and like they are infestation. That is massive. And I believe the quarantine is everyone hide for a little bit because they're going to throw pesticide everywhere and try to get rid of them. Yeah, quarantine, not like COVID, like, mostly like we're going to
Starting point is 00:59:56 bug bomb your house. Yes. Don't be in the house. If they're going to bug bomb everything but inside your house, don't be out of your house. That's it. Yes. Hey, Scooby, turn the music down a little bit, buddy?
Starting point is 01:00:06 It won't work. I can't get it to go down. I'm literally pushing down and won't go down. You're like a dad right there. That sounds like me age 11. Hey, turn it down, son. Turn it down. There you go.
Starting point is 01:00:16 Literally, I was pushing down. I wouldn't go down. Yeah. I'd go to the next pot. Okay. Sorry, Dad. Oh, my goodness. Poor Scuba.
Starting point is 01:00:24 Okay, you feel good now? Turn it up just a little bit. Okay. That's a lot of it. Now, there it is. Okay, we're going to go to the next one. You cool? Yeah, I'm really.
Starting point is 01:00:32 All right. A coffee shop in Michigan tried to get Def Leopard to show up and help them promote their brown sugar latte. The response was a letter from Def Leppar's reps saying the appearance fees $500,000. Oh, my gosh. Now, here's the real story. A coffee shop was being funny. And they're like, hey, we have this new drink. The brown sugar latte.
Starting point is 01:00:49 Death Leopard, will you come? They just kept going, will you come? And then finally, Def Leopard's manager was like, we're on a stadium tour right now. Thank you for asking. And I actually have the note. Thank you for the inquiry. However, we regret to inform you
Starting point is 01:01:00 that Def Leppard will not be able to perform. Pour some sugar on me at your coffee shop to promote brown sugar latte. The band is currently on their stadium tour. While your offer of unlimited bagels and lattes is generous, appearance fees for the band start at $500,000. If this meets your budget, we may be able to arrange
Starting point is 01:01:15 an appearance in the future. We ask for 12 months notice. It's funny. Yes, and people are like, oh, Def Lepper, come on, man. they were working. Yeah. And they get paid.
Starting point is 01:01:25 If they were in the area and they were already in the town and it was happening and they wanted to swing by and do something and obviously go viral for it, yes. But you can't shame somebody
Starting point is 01:01:35 for not coming to help promote a coffee drink at a coffee shop. But 500,000 bucks pretty awesome. And I bet that's not even with anything other than just the guys in acoustic instruments. Dude, that's a lot of money. They're worth that much?
Starting point is 01:01:47 Yeah, they're one of the, if not, they're one of the top three biggest groups of the 80s. Oh, color me surprised. I will. Color you surprised. All right. When you start saying that?
Starting point is 01:02:01 Color me something? Isn't that what they said? No, it's a thing, but you just have never said it. I may have heard it yesterday. Where? I don't know. Someone must have said it, and I was like, that's funny. I'm going to use that.
Starting point is 01:02:10 I like that. You saved it in your back pocket? Yeah. I don't know what's happening today, guys. Getting enough sleep is now officially a marker of good health. It's long been said that getting a good night sleep will help you live longer. it has now been signed off as a key marker to maintaining good health by a panel of cardiologists that add sleep duration to their list of essential steps to maintain a healthy heart.
Starting point is 01:02:32 Now it's not just like, maybe probably you should get sleep. It's like you have to get sleep if you want to be healthy and have a healthy heart. So seven to nine hours. People are different. It's not eight. Some people can do close to seven. Some people need literally need nine plus. All our bodies are different.
Starting point is 01:02:48 Our cycles are all different. Some of us wake up and feel better if we wake up. at 4 a.m. I know people who are like that, I'm not convinced they're not psycho killers. But, and then some people, like myself, like I am best if I wake up at noon. Noon? Yes. Because my natural body, if I have four or five days to just fall into what's natural, I'll start going to sleep at 4 a.m. Like, I'm going to sleep right as the sun's coming up. And then I wake up at 11 or noon. You were meant to be a rock star. Yeah. Wow. Sounds like it. I like that, yeah. Or just the overnight shift.
Starting point is 01:03:19 Yeah, it's true. You know? A stalker. Yep. And I, and I, You know, I've done it just in the daytime. Maybe I would have been so much better at Hobby Lobby if they'd have been open all night. And I could have worked then. A 4th of July poll found one of eight Americans cannot name our first president. Our first president.
Starting point is 01:03:35 Number one, which should be the easiest one. Hey, Morgan, who's the first president? George Washington. Nice. Amy, who's second president? John Adams. Good. Don't go to the president.
Starting point is 01:03:45 Do not. Go for it. So here's what we're going to do. What's good? Can you find a timer button? Oh, boy. Oh, gosh. I can, over the brick, I can find it, yes.
Starting point is 01:03:57 Not right now. We're not doing an Easter egg hunt all afternoon. Did he not tell you where stuff was? I mean, it's all, it's his organization, so it's not mine. So everything's weird and different. He gave me the basics, but nothing extra. So Scoobo Steve is running the board. If you're just tuning in, Ray usually does.
Starting point is 01:04:13 And you've been doing an adequate job. We did get on the air. Yeah, we did, yes. Yeah, I got something for you here in the theme of Fourth of July. He set up a bed. But he means a timer. Okay, okay. This is something, right?
Starting point is 01:04:27 It's going to be. It's something. You're moving in the right direction. I can't get you a timer. Yes. Some fireworks? This is like if I could, oh, wow. Is that a different clip that you're playing on top of that?
Starting point is 01:04:37 On top of it? Yes, I can layer clips. Wow. So this is an analogy here. It's like somebody who owns a chain of 15 McDonald's having to walk in and cook for an afternoon. Did it a long time ago. Knows how important it was, but has been away for so long.
Starting point is 01:04:51 And he's like, don't put my hand in the car. grease or do I do I yeah that's what scuba Steve is doing right now our executive producer so here's what we're gonna do to the team here Amy yeah lunchbox yeah Eddie mm-hmm let me see if I have any money because that motivates you guys yeah I like it we're up which it shouldn't just do it for your paycheck oh but it helps it does I'm 70 love it love it love it here's the game and we'll do it during this quick break here oh gosh five minutes on the clock the break will be far less than five minutes I need you to write down as many presidents as you possibly can.
Starting point is 01:05:24 Oh my gosh. And if you write down someone that's not a president, it'll be negative one. Oh my. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. So, yes. So if you write down, uh, Clark Gable. He's not a president. Not a president, an old actor.
Starting point is 01:05:36 Yeah. So that will be if you have 13 right, that's minus one. You have 12 right. Do you have first and last name or can I just write their last name? First and last name. Gosh, that's going to take me forever. First and last. So I'm going to give you.
Starting point is 01:05:48 Don't start yet. The winner gets 20 bucks, but you have to get over 20. presidents right to get $20. Oh, I'm not going to get there. I can't get $20. Okay. I want to get $20. So we'll break real quick. Do you know what you're doing? Scooby? You know how to get out of here? Yes, I do. Yeah. Yeah. The board's a little different. Usually you press the on button to go, but I'm going to put it in auto and I believe it'll be okay. Uh-oh. I believe it's auto. Okay. Mike, we, okay. And you guys are sit at your desk. I'm going to start them on the timer now. Okay. Don't, don't leave the, don't go on to break yet. All right, and start now.
Starting point is 01:06:17 Eddie, Lunchbox and Amy are writing down every president they can. Oh, one second. Who are you talking to? He's talking to him. Why are you talking to somebody in the hall? Scuba. Sorry. Scooper's on the air having a conversation with somebody in the hall. Okay, we're going to go to a break, hit a button.
Starting point is 01:06:37 I'm going to count you down. Okay? All right, let's do it. Three, two, one, go. Starting point is 01:10:59 Don't think so. 19, 19? I got 17. But even on your list, even if you're wrong. No, no, 17. You have 17. What do you have, Eddie? I guarantee you, I don't know what I have, but I guarantee you what I have is not wrong.
Starting point is 01:11:09 All of those are correct. Okay, let's go first with Lunchbox. I'm going to have your readers out. How many do you have? I think 17. What do you think? No, I didn't list them. Okay. All right. Number, go. And I'll tell you.
Starting point is 01:11:21 Oh, I know I'm right. Hey, Scooby, do you have a ding? Oh, I got those. Oh, get ready. Yeah, I got my... Go, go, one. Joe Biden. Okay.
Starting point is 01:11:29 That's interesting. I like how you're going backward from now. I would have gone one up, but that's a nice strategy. Donald Trump. Go ahead. Barack Obama. Bill Clinton. George Bush. George Bush.
Starting point is 01:11:45 Yeah. Richard... Hold on. Yeah. That works. We'll give it to you. We'll give it to you. George H.W. Bush.
Starting point is 01:11:51 Yeah, I mean, I didn't have to do initials. I wrote the initials. Okay. Extra credit. Get out of here. Okay. See, go ahead. Richard Nixon.
Starting point is 01:11:59 Yeah. Jimmy Carter. Yeah. John F. Kennedy. Yeah. George Washington. Ten. That's when he gave up on going back.
Starting point is 01:12:07 You see that moment where he gave up. It is where I just struggling. John Adams. Yeah. Second. Abraham Lincoln. 16. Herbert.
Starting point is 01:12:15 That's good. Good for you. Wow. You got Hoover? I mean, I've heard that name. this one I don't know Robert Taft it's William Taft Dang it just came to me
Starting point is 01:12:24 What Robert Yeah not not William Dang it So you're back to 12 because you missed one Okay go ahead Grover Cleveland Nice back to 13 Now this one I think is an actor
Starting point is 01:12:35 Go ahead Andrew Garfield Okay There's a president named Garfield There's the James A Garfield But there's not an Andrew That's Spider-Man Dang it
Starting point is 01:12:45 That's really funny Garfield yeah Go ahead Anything else Yeah, very end came to me. Ronald Reagan. Nice. Yeah. Lunchbox with a grand total. Is that your final one? That's it. I didn't have anything else because I wasn't trying to miss any. I knew that I didn't know any, so I wasn't going to... It's like not going in on Jeopardy, not ringing in because you'll go backward if you do ring and miss. I like I had U.S. Listlesslessless list Grant, but I didn't think he was a president.
Starting point is 01:13:07 Oh, dang, that's good. Yeah. But he's not a president. Yes, he is. Yeah. He was a president? Say his first name. What's saying? You lessees S. Grant. He was a president, but one more time. You get it from the top. UL-S-E-S-G-S-G-S. Right. U-L-Y-S. Does he get it?
Starting point is 01:13:21 No. I didn't write it down because I thought he was wrong. Grant was who? He was a president. Yeah. How do you get to be president, you think? Probably elected. That's true.
Starting point is 01:13:31 I mean, that's probably how he got. How was his job before president, you think? He was in the war. Correct. Which war? Civil war. Correct. Which side?
Starting point is 01:13:39 The side that didn't win. And why would the losing side have somebody elected president? Yeah, probably not. He's probably on the other side. And what side won? The north. Correct. So is he the 17th?
Starting point is 01:13:48 Ulysses S. Grant was the 18th president. Oh, 18th. How many presidents there have been? 40, because that makes... Oh, 46, yeah. You expected us to get 20 out of 46? That is important. I mean, that's going back.
Starting point is 01:14:00 It's not impossible. You're pretty darn close. Okay, lunchboxes with the final score of 13. Ooh. Amy, ready. Okay, similar strategy. We can go a little faster, but go ahead. Joe Biden, Donald Trump.
Starting point is 01:14:13 It's a little slower than that, though. Yes. Okay. Let's find a middle ground. Joe Biden, good. Donald Trump. Barack Obama. Okay.
Starting point is 01:14:21 George W. Bush. Bill Clinton. Yep. George H. W. Bush. Go ahead. Ronald Reagan. Yep. Jimmy Carter.
Starting point is 01:14:27 Yep. Richard Nixon. Uh-huh. All right. We're going to go. You're at nine right now. Lyndon B. Johnson. Correct.
Starting point is 01:14:33 10. Wow. Shout out LBJ High School. Thank you for that one. Is that what you did? Yes. What? I started thinking of high schools and colleges.
Starting point is 01:14:40 Like what is named after people? Uh-huh. Okay. Ten? Okay. All right. Now we're going to go. George Washington.
Starting point is 01:14:46 11. John Adams 12 JFK 13 okay so anything more than this you will
Starting point is 01:14:53 overtake lunchbox as long as you don't miss any Andrew Garfield you got Andrew too back to 12 Spider Man did not
Starting point is 01:15:00 make the list okay okay here we go same bags though yep yep Robert Taft wow
Starting point is 01:15:06 I know back to 11 yeah yeah yeah what was his name William she's missed two she's going backward
Starting point is 01:15:12 yeah I missed Andrew Garfield and Robert Taft unfortunately did she just cheat off each other That is crazy. We can't even see each other.
Starting point is 01:15:20 Go ahead. Teddy Roosevelt. Good. Back to 12. What? How many more do you have? Who is that? Abraham Lincoln.
Starting point is 01:15:26 Okay, 13. You're tied with lunchbox. Huh? You're tied with lunchbox. Okay. Okay. No. I don't want to miss a point.
Starting point is 01:15:33 No, you got to say what you wrote down. Go ahead. What are you? What do you have? Wasn't there another John Adams? Go ahead. John Adams. Again.
Starting point is 01:15:41 No. The other one, the brother or son or son. There was a father and a son. In the beginning. You would need the middle name. No, you didn't even make him say middle name. Quincy. But what do you have written down?
Starting point is 01:15:54 But I didn't think I needed the initials. But you have initials. You just yelled out, I have all the initials. Remember what you said that? For George H.W. You know, Bones, if she, yeah, if two George Bushes count. But George W and George H.W, that's not a full middle name. There's a letter.
Starting point is 01:16:08 John Quincy Adams. That's a name. Well, this is a little teeny tiny technicality. I'm going to go to Mike. I have father's son. Yes or no. I've got it. No, the other ones are just letters.
Starting point is 01:16:19 It's a name. It's a full name. Yes. Dang. Yes. That's ridiculous. And it was the son. Okay.
Starting point is 01:16:24 And I, okay. You're tied at 13. I didn't write it. Amy, it's okay. Hey, Amy. You know it, but you didn't write it. No, because now we're tied. They never work in school.
Starting point is 01:16:31 Now I teach. I knew it. I didn't write it. I knew it, though. But I just said it. And I explained they were father's son. 13, 13, 13. You guys are tied.
Starting point is 01:16:37 Wow, wow, wow. Eddie for the win. All right, suckas. Let's go. Give me the first five you're for sure about it. My first five are John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, George Bush, senior. Okay. Bill Clinton.
Starting point is 01:16:51 Five. Good. Go again. Let's go. Barack Obama. Go ahead. Joe Biden. Seven. Jimmy Carter. Eight. Lyndon B. Johnson. Nine. Gerald. Ford. Ten.
Starting point is 01:16:59 Let's go. I don't know who it is. Yeah. Let's go. And go ahead. Richard Nixon. 11. Now let's go back.
Starting point is 01:17:06 George Washington. 12. So if you guys are listening now, what's happening is I gave them five. five minutes list as many presidents as they possibly could. And lunchmarks has 13 points. Amy has 13 points. Eddie right now has 12. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:17:19 Okay, next. George Washington. John Adams. He said George Washington. Yeah. Okay. So John Adams. Go ahead.
Starting point is 01:17:25 Abraham Lincoln. Now you're tied to 13. Franklin D. Roosevelt. Theodore Roosevelt. James Polk. Oh, yeah. FDR. Andrew Jackson.
Starting point is 01:17:38 Yeah. James Garfield. And the one that doesn't count because I was still writing when it was out, Dwight Eisenhower. Yeah, what'd you write? Oh, you were, you were, I was writing Eisenhower. Yes.
Starting point is 01:17:49 There's two Roosevelt's. Were they related? Yeah, no. No, Eddie, you think the two Roosevelt's were just randomly Roosevelt? Could have been. Eddie got 18 points. Dang!
Starting point is 01:17:58 You're the big winner here. Wow, the fireworks for me. Theodore Roosevelt was like 1900 or so, 19, so he was in that spot. He was the Army. Franklin D. Roosevelt was like in the 30s. Yeah, he was in a wheelchair. So, yes.
Starting point is 01:18:14 Both very important. Probably 40s because he did the whole infamy, a day in infamy. Which one? FDR. Mike, we used to when did he was president. 1930. When did the end? Yeah, so he was World War II.
Starting point is 01:18:30 World War. So 33 to 45. Wow. All right. Well, Eddie, you won, buddy. Thank you. I feel good. Fourth of July.
Starting point is 01:18:37 You are a 14th of July. But you don't get to holler. So what did I get to? 19? Yeah, you don't get to holler. You got 18. Dang, dude. I think it's hilarious.
Starting point is 01:18:46 You guys both had Andrew Garfield as a president. I'm surprised nobody hit Garfield the cat. Yeah. At first I just wrote Garfield don't know his first name. Then Andrew came to me. Yeah. Dang. He's an actor.
Starting point is 01:18:56 And it's like 24 or so. That's rough, man. Well, everybody has awesome Fourth of July, right? Yeah. Any other presidents we missed? Yeah, like 25. More than half. Oh.
Starting point is 01:19:08 Is like Warren G. G. Harding. Ever heard of him? Oh, yes. Calvin Coolidge. Oh, yeah. Franklin Pierce. No, I never heard of that guy.
Starting point is 01:19:17 Who, Franklin Pierce? Yeah. Can't say that I have. William Henry Harrison. No. Died in office quickly, same year. Really? Oh, that's terrible.
Starting point is 01:19:25 Have a good 4th of July. We'll not be doing a live show on a 4th of July. We'll keep it real with you. On that show, it'll just be Scoobes Steve running the board. All show long. And we don't know what's going to happen. It's a grab bag. All right.
Starting point is 01:19:35 Thank you, guys. If you want to call us, you can. 877, 77, Bobby. I should mention something I didn't mention in the news that Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess had their baby. Yeah. Saw it on Instagram. I haven't been in touch with Sharnah in the past, I guess pretty much she's been pregnant. So, you know, just except for on Instagram a little bit.
Starting point is 01:19:54 So I saw it with everybody else and just saw like a baby arm or something. And I was like, oh, oh, she had her baby. So congratulations to them. That's really, really awesome. I'm super excited for her. All right, that's all she wrote. Bobby Bones Show. Boney of the day.
Starting point is 01:20:08 This story comes from us from Ashville. Alabama. A man was acting suspicious and police said, hey, come over here. We want to talk to you. And he said, what, what's going on? They said, you got anything on you? He said, no, man, look at my shirt. His shirt said, I'm too good for drugs. So they searched his pockets. Meth. It wasn't too good for drugs. They arrested him for lying, too. Can they, did he have to go over to them if he just says, hey, come over? I think he does. If he says, hey, man, just come over and say, what's up to us? He was acting suspicious
Starting point is 01:20:40 Don't you have the right to deny to come over? I don't know, I'd call my attorney. Give me a second. I don't want to walk right over there yet, Officer, because I've met them on my pocket and I don't feel like it's in my best interest. All right. I'm Lunchbox, that's your bonehead story of the day.
Starting point is 01:20:55 On yesterday's show, there was a story about a woman and she thought something fishy was happening, so she takes a picture of a guy in a car next to her. That dude killed her. And so they went through her phone and found a picture of some sketchy dude, and they were like, wonder who this guy is.
Starting point is 01:21:08 It was him. She thought something was about to happen, so she took a picture with the guy, and that's how they solved the murder. Really sad story, bizarre story, that she took a picture of him. Glad she did. But Emily is called, because it's a similar-ish story. What is your version? What's your story? So my grandmother, her house was getting painted.
Starting point is 01:21:26 This was over 30 years ago, and the painters broke in her house in the middle of the night, and they woke her up and said, give us all your money. And she said, well, turn around, because I'm in my pajamas. let me get my robe on. And so they turned around, and then she went to find her pocketbook, and she found it, and then they beat her up pretty badly. She lived through it, which was great. So she not only lived through it, but she was an artist.
Starting point is 01:21:55 And so when the police officers came to her house, she said, give me just a minute, and I'll draw them. So she drew sketches of the two men that beat her up, and then handed them to the police. officers and the next day those two men got arrested. That's crazy. Wow. Isn't that great? Yeah, that is, that is wild. And also, I guess, did she know what they look like from painting her house?
Starting point is 01:22:18 Like, did she recognize them at night when they came to robber? You know, I would think she did. I would think that, I mean, as, you know, she was living by herself. She was probably out there making them some into cheese sandwiches and handing them co-cola. Yeah, that's crazy. So I'm sure she got to know them. You know, if someone came to me and said, I'm with a gun to my head.
Starting point is 01:22:37 They said, I have a gun to your head. I need you to draw Eddie. You wouldn't be able to do it. No chance. I mean, I've studied every nook and cranny in your face and your body for years. I'm sure you've stared at me for years. Yes, can't stop. I'm in love with you.
Starting point is 01:22:51 But I still, I can't draw at all. And so luckily she had the skill to not only draw paint, but like remember. Amazing. Exactly things. That is really cool. Emily, you live in Charleston, South Carolina. I do, yes. How is that?
Starting point is 01:23:06 Yes. It's human. but it's awesome. No good hair days, but it's awesome. Yeah, that's interesting. It'd be tough to have curly hair there. Are you married? Yes. I am married. I actually am 22 blissful years. Wow. What's the last thing about it this morning? About the 22 years?
Starting point is 01:23:21 Yeah, because we have teenagers. It's hard. This marriage thing, if you don't laugh, you'll cry. You know, I don't know if I'm inspired right now. I mean, either. Yeah, yeah. So your husband was in the Air Force for a bunch of years? Is that true? Yes, he was. My husband and Amy, listen up. My husband graduated from the Air Force Academy in 94. And my brother and his wife graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1988.
Starting point is 01:23:49 And then my father graduated from West Point in 51. And my grandfather graduated from West Point in 36. Wow. Military family. A lot of history. It's not easy to get into all those schools, that many people in your family. Well, here's what I'm going to do for. you because the Home Depot's red, white, and blue event is happening. I'm going to give you and your husband a $500 gift card to the Home Depot. Wow. Yeah, pretty awesome. 500 bucks gets you a lot of
Starting point is 01:24:16 stuff. So more than 35,000 Home Depot associates are military, either veterans or military spouses. So it's their job and they feel like it's their goal to give back at the Home Depot. So what we're going to do is we're partnering with them as we're going to give you and your husband $500. And just a thank you for your husband. Thank you for you. I thank you for the, you know, inspiration for 22 years. Yeah. And a thank you for calling. I thank you for calling.
Starting point is 01:24:42 Yeah, I know. I love y'all. I just bought my every year, Fourth of July, I love America and I love our service men and women. And every year, Fourth of July, we get our picture taken in front of this giant flag in the neighborhood. And this year,
Starting point is 01:24:55 I bought my first Pimpinjoy t-shirt for it. Oh, wow. Because I feel really strongly about our military and being able to sleep at night. And they're a big part. part of that. So gosh, y'all, I really appreciate it. I do. I appreciate all y'all do for our military, and that's really nice. We're actually having some work in the house. This is going to help a lot. Well, be careful about the painters. I'm just going to say it. I'm just going to say it. You never know.
Starting point is 01:25:22 My daughter's an artist. She can see them. She's drawing them all now, just in case. They have to sit for 10 minutes and be drawn before they can work on the property. Emily, thank you. Stay on hold. We're going to get you this. Hope you have an awesome weekend, and we appreciate you being a listener and a caller, okay? No, I appreciate y'all. Y'all are great. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Do not hang up, Emily. All right, thank you.
