Starting point is 00:03:23 But he wanted to downgrade the flight attendant that gave him that upgrade. And guess what? Little head with the big dope of ears, you're ugly. So don't even sit there and think that you are up there in the top ten. You are about a three. So don't sit here and think that you're something, all that in a bag of chips, because you are not. That's powerful. Powerful messaging there. I will say that what happened was, lunchbox was like, I'm bizman. He gave me business upgrade. And I was like, that's cool.
Starting point is 00:03:52 He was like, she's a big listener of the show. I was like, well, that's cool. I said if she walked in the room, would you be able to recognize her? Or something like that. He goes, yeah, she's about a six. I was just trying to describe it. Out of nowhere. I was just yell, she's a six.
Starting point is 00:04:05 I was describing her. Big head, big ears. No, he said, she said, did she say big head or little head? I don't know what she said. Little head with big ears. You figure out of whatever this and that, blah, blah, blah, blah. I like to hear that again. Are we okay?

Starting point is 00:04:48 There's a woman that wants me. Oh, that's what you heard. Yeah, she was just bad as you can't have me. Okay. There is a new study that's uncovered the truth about how physical attractiveness is perceived. It's, and we probably all, give yourself the number you think you probably really are in real life, one through 10. What?
Starting point is 00:05:04 We can do this. Yeah. It's easy. I would go six and six. and a half for me. Oh, you? Six and a half. Okay. Ten. You? Seven and a half. Okay. So that's the number
Starting point is 00:05:15 we would all give ourselves. According to the study, the median man, not that rates themselves, but the median man is rated by everybody else. It's a 5.9 out of 10. Like, that's average. 5.9. Oh, yeah. That sucks to be average. While the median woman scores, if they held up a bunch of pictures, at 6.5.
Starting point is 00:05:34 So. I don't know about that. What's up? There are some barkers out there. But they're also, guys are ugly, too. Yeah. Yeah, more than women. If it looks as a relative.
Starting point is 00:05:45 No. Look. We all pretty much agree what's hot. That's not true. Generally, yeah, there's a cultural definition of what we find attractive, yes. We've been conditioned to think it's attractive. Okay, we've been conditioned to think everything. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:59 There are about 15% of people in the world, though, that find you extremely attractive. 15%? Uh-huh. Regardless of what you are, because whatever the little things, are about you, your little quirks? Like a little head and big ears? Maybe that dope ears. Yes.
Starting point is 00:06:14 But this is everybody, like everyone, no matter what you look like, you have 15% of the average person, between 15% to 20% of people will rate them in the top 20% of most attractive. Wow. There's even 5% that would put you in the top 5 because of something about what you have is exactly what somebody else is looking for physically without even knowing you. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:06:32 So that means hang in there. Basically, what I hear. Like, hang in there because somebody. is going to like you for your big dopey head and little ears. Dude, she came hard. Yeah, that's what women do when they want me. They come hard. They come hard.
Starting point is 00:06:46 Yeah, they get aggressive. Yeah, they get aggressive. I'm like, oh, man, that man, I can't have them. I'm going to put him down because it's something I want. It'll make me feel better not having it. No, no, no. She was just upset because you put down somebody for no reason. I didn't put anybody down. It's the anonymous inbox.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Anonymous inbox to be had. Bobby Bones. I had a really great first date with a woman. Met her on a dating app. We hit it off. I asked her if she'd like to go out again. She said she'd love to, but she wants to bring her 12-year-old daughter along. I said we could schedule the date for another time if she needs to be with her daughter, but she said she wants her daughter to meet me because how well I got along with her daughter is important to her as well.
Starting point is 00:07:33 Is this weird? It makes me feel a little uncomfortable. Should I agree and just see how it goes? Or risk upsetting her by telling her I'm not comfortable with meeting her daughter yet. signed man in a family affair so there's a difference in weird and wrong and sometimes weird can be wrong but weird doesn't always have to be wrong so is it weird yes doesn't have to be wrong second date i'm going to bring my kid on a date that is weird that is abnormal very weird yeah i'm going to say again if you're going to date and have these extremely rigid rules about who you are and only what you'll date it's not going to go well if it's something
Starting point is 00:08:11 something that you don't mind doing other than it feels weird because traditionally you wait to meet the person's daughter. If like that idea is there and that's always been, I think you go, don't let that keep you back. If you just don't because you're like, I don't want the daughter on the second day. It's not good for me. It's not good for I don't like that as a daughter. Yeah. That's what I'm thinking about. So maybe the daughter just wants to go to a nice restaurant.
Starting point is 00:08:37 I really don't know the reasoning. So you have to pay for the daughter? I would think so, yes. Yeah, and that's a great question, and I think it could possibly be the mom being smart too, being like, I don't even like this guy. But you want to go out back? If you like this woman over a 7.5
Starting point is 00:08:55 and you're not completely against it, I would be open to allowing your boundaries to be unboundaryed a bit. So if you really like her, I would say, sure, not really something I've ever done. Not something that feels I just say it. It's a little weird, but absolutely. Let's give it a try. I think when you date and you're older
Starting point is 00:09:20 and she has reasons probably that she wants her daughter. I don't know. I don't know the reasons. And you don't know the reasons either. So if you like her, I say do it even though it's weird. Weird doesn't mean wrong. Weird can be wrong, but weird doesn't mean wrong all the time. Is it weird? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:33 It's so bizarre. It's not awesome. That's weird. I'd probably be like, I'm good. But he also just asked, too, like, is it, should I risk upsetting her by sharing with her how I feel about this? And I think that this is a good opportunity to share something like this with her. And see how she reacts. For every reason, 12 year old and sharing super emotions.
Starting point is 00:09:53 But if she gets mad at that, that's a psychotic sign. Go on the date. Oh, no. I've not got to this point. Just go on the date because you're going to go and it's probably going to be weird. And then at least you'll know you messed up anyway. It's one date. It's two hours of your time.
Starting point is 00:10:07 Oh, gosh. It's two hours of your time. No. Dating's exhausting. Yeah, you act like I didn't do it for 100 years. Yeah, well, dating is older. I'm dating older with kids. And I like that you said the weird or right.
Starting point is 00:10:19 Like sometimes I'll ask myself the question of like right wrong, wise. And with this, there is no right or wrong because every kid, every parent, every relationship is different. However, I don't think it's wise. I think it's weird. Yeah. But I think if you like her a lot and you see that possibly this could be a fourth or fifth date or six date, Now you're not saying anything serious. Do it and have an experience from it and have a story because when it doesn't go well,
Starting point is 00:10:42 at least you'll know and you can tell your friends. This freaking lady brought a 12 year old. How many guys is this 12 year old meeting? I don't know. I don't know the answer. And it's probably not going to work out. The truth is it's probably not going to work out. It's probably not.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Okay. But go anyway. But there's a chance. If you really were excited about it and you like her, this mom may have a different reason that you have no idea about bringing the 12 year old. Like she could be in trouble. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:11:07 So it's weird. I probably wouldn't do it, but I'm going to encourage you to stretch your boundary a little bit if you really liked the person from the first date. If you're admitted about it, don't worry about it. Don't do it at all. That Friday. I got a lot of fun facts. They're so fun. I've been holed this for like two days.
Starting point is 00:11:24 James Cameron, when he made Titanic, like, you know, why I wanted to make Titanic? He's very selfish because he was like, I just want to go down and look at the wreckage. That's the reason. Oh, that's the reason. Yeah. So he wanted to get the studio to pay him to dive down. and so he was like well and it wasn't even about
Starting point is 00:11:40 really making the movie he was like I didn't really particularly care to make a movie but he had to make a movie since he wanted and that is how Titanic came about I recently saw a study that the scientists went down there and like stuff's really deteriorating like there's not a lot left well yeah it's a water old duty that's what happens is it when did that sink
Starting point is 00:11:56 I don't know 20s? Probably 20s yeah something like that if you see a picture of the Titanic now versus what a cruise ship looks like the Titanic looks like a flat bottom fish of boat yeah it's tiny really well at the time I mean it was Titanic. But yeah, now it would be really small. Fun fact, Friday, Amy.
Starting point is 00:12:12 Mine's from the ocean, too. You can hear a blue whale's heartbeat or it can be detected two miles away. Meaning with some sort of radar, like stone. Yeah, you can measure it. Oh, not like you can hear it. Not like, do you guys hear that? Oh, crap, he's two miles. Titanic's like April 14th and 1912.

Starting point is 00:13:35 Go ahead, Eddie. So according to scientists, this is crazy. But crows, the bird, crows can remember human faces associated with stressful situations for up to five years. So if you're stressed out because of a bird, the bird knows your face and it remembers it for five years. Not only that, it warns their friends about you. Like don't go near or their stress go get their food.
Starting point is 00:13:55 No, you're like, don't get near that person. Don't get near the stress person. But how do they know this? I don't know. Like what? I think you can't prove he's wrong. Try it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:03 Okay. Good luck. Okay, Morgan. So, Bobby, you're allergic to dogs. But did you know that your dogs can also be allergic to you? They can be allergic to our dead skin cells, like dander, just like we would have the same allergic reactions. They also get itchy skin and have difficulty breathing. There's human dander.
Starting point is 00:14:21 I believe it. I never thought about it, though. Yeah. There is human dander. When Disneyland first opened, it had a lingerie shop on Main Street. Nuh. What did it sell? Lajuree.
Starting point is 00:14:32 I know, but when it first opened, what year was this? Because, like, was that like a long nightgown back then? It lasted less than six months, so it wasn't really a hit. And finally, the Wright brothers had two older brothers, Roy Klin and Lauren. They were not invited to be part of the whole flying thing. Oh. They also had a sister named Catherine. You're dying and you need me to know that you're dying. If you call me, I know something is wrong. Because nobody calls me because I don't answer the phone.
Starting point is 00:29:19 Yeah. You kind of fall into the category of like 35 and under that age range. They do not answer the phone for any reason. And even though you're 44 or whatever, like you, you're like them. If you FaceTime me, I think it's an important thing. You like to have a discussion about it. I would prefer a text, but I'll take a FaceTime. Don't call me unless you're dying.
Starting point is 00:29:40 Because I won't answer. If it's somebody I know when they're calling me, I know something's wrong. Yeah, so I don't mind if people call me, but apparently a lot of people in the world Here's why. Here's why, Amy. People get distracted. They're on the phone and they start talking and then I start talking back and they're not even listening because they're doing three other things at once.
Starting point is 00:29:57 And I'm like, why are we doing this? That's why I want FaceTime because I can see that you're focused and we can get off of this thing. Oh, okay. Phone calls, again, they don't bother me, but these are the acceptable reasons for a phone call. Go ahead. To inform someone of a death. There we go. Okay, I'll accept it.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Yeah, like if someone dies. Okay. To show support when someone's going through a tough time, you want to do a check-in. Okay. I'm fine. with it? To wish them a happy birthday? Nope. No call for birthday? That's a text. And then, or a FaceTime. Okay. If you're running late, like, hey, I'm going to be there and... No, I wouldn't call for that. How do you have time to call me if you're running late? Won't you take that time and you actually get
Starting point is 00:30:36 here faster? When you're lost and trying to find something. Like, hey, I can't find you. I can understand that. Because the text, they may not see it. That one I'll co-sign. And then when it comes to health updates, positive or negative, the positive would be, we're pregnant. Negative would be like... We're not pregnant. Yeah. Oh, that's real negative, man. Cancer. Cancer.
Starting point is 00:30:56 Oh, gosh. Oh, gosh. Well, I don't know. I don't know. I think the cancer was out in person. I don't. Yeah. You'd be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:31:03 If you just call me to say, hey, man, get cancer. I'll be like, why. That's true. Well, unless you don't live in the same town. Yeah, you don't live in. It's good point. Then you need to FaceTime. Okay.

Starting point is 00:31:41 Oh, yeah. Yeah, same. My kids don't know how to talk on the phone at all. Yeah, it's weird. My kids do not know how to talk on the phone. I need to send them to phone call. And they need to learn patience, too. Like if they can't get a hold of me, they call me 100 times.

I think we just were used to not being able to get a hold of our parents, so we're not like that. The really funny thing is when people younger than us to do the hand to sign for a phone because there isn't one. Like hold it up to your ear? Yeah, when you do.
Starting point is 00:32:08 When you do the, it looks like hang loose Hawaii. Yeah, yeah. That's also the phone. But nobody holds the phone up to it. That's not a thing. It's especially not a cell phone. So no one really does. That's true, too.
Starting point is 00:32:18 My kids don't hold it up to the. They always do speaker. All right. What else? A study found that one major thing can make men live longer. And that one thing is... Yep, yep, yep. You're right.
Starting point is 00:32:30 Marriage. Oh, no. That's not what I was thinking either. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because what happens is when y'all get a wife, you are in better physical, mental, and emotional shape. And because the wife... Much of my buddies are not in better physical shape because they're married. It's gone the opposite way.
Starting point is 00:32:44 Yeah, physical, not so much. Maybe mental and emotional. I don't know about mental either. Speaking of emotional, I don't know about that. Yeah. Okay, this is a whole study that showed that men age oftenally. We're Joshing you. The funny part is women who get married, there's no real improvements, but there's also not a decline.

Starting point is 00:34:13 But Jelly Roll wouldn't be a country music artist doing the halftime show. He would be an artist that has country music hits because we consider him one of us. Starting point is 00:34:52 With lunchbox. Stay home, it's something good. A mom, a seven-year-old child, a pet tortoise, and a pet cat. Out on a sailboat off of Hawaii. A thousand miles from Hawaii. And they have to hit the alert beacon. Send in a message to the Coast Guard. The captain of the ship died.
Starting point is 00:35:15 Oh my gosh. So they are stranded. And they're a thousand miles away? And the tortoise is there too? Yes. Is that a May Day? This is a lot. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:23 I'm still in, but we're layering up here. Go ahead. And there was a hurricane out there at the same. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. So we are talking 20. A tortoise?
Starting point is 00:35:32 A hurricane? A dead captain? This sounds like a Bible story. It sounds like at the beginning a tortoise cat and man walking to a bar. And we were talking 25 foot waves, folks. Oh, man. And they don't have anybody to drive the boat. So they got to send the Coast Guard,
Starting point is 00:35:45 and they got to get out there and rescue these people and they get out there and it's too dangerous. So they have to wait overnight until they can get them off the ship. But they found them a thousand miles out. Thousand miles away. There's a song about that. A thousand miles. Time matter of me.
Starting point is 00:36:02 Yeah. All right, good for them. I mean, I guess the sailboat, you need to know how to sail, not just drive a boat, but also need to know how to use a compass and I don't want to do it either. Right. And the captain's gone. Yeah, my question is. They have bodies in the boat.
Starting point is 00:36:12 Do they get the captain off? They don't. Do they let them go down with the ship? The ship probably doesn't go down. They probably get them off. They tow it. Well, what do they do with the ship? They tow it in.

Starting point is 00:41:43 Where are you been? Like, you're on the road a lot yet or no? Yeah, we've been on the road. We had a long stretch of shows. We did like seven shows. on like 10 days or something crazy, but it was like shorter sets and longer sets and a day off. And then we got a week off.
Starting point is 00:41:59 And I got a couple weeks off. But we played with Brooks and Dunn on Friday. That was fun. Isn't that cool? Like you get to do stuff with like heroes? Yeah, no. And it was really fun. And we played a 90-minute set.
Starting point is 00:42:11 They played a 90-minute set. Kind of got to hang with Ronnie and kicks and was just like, and the bands hung out. I don't know. It was fun. Do you feel that there is, And it makes sense, but you being the singer, and if you can't sing, the show can't go on, like, you have to actually take care of yourself and, like, go to bed at a normal time.
Starting point is 00:42:29 You can't really go as hard anymore because if you do get sick, blow your voice out, party too hard. Well, that's irresponsible. Like, there's a new responsibility you have to have as, like, CEO of John Party Industries. I feel like, and it's hard when you get sick, that's the worst. I mean, but you got to be there for the people paying for the tickets, you know. Even that night when we played Brooks and Dunn, I was in, I was in mid like 1130 and Ronnie and kicks, they started late. So they were like asking where I was.
Starting point is 00:43:03 I was like, how's baby number two? Baby number two is beautiful and healthy and she's very new, like fresh. with baby number two is there a difference in oh we've been through this once so we can kind of figure this out again more than the first one summer's way more chill with the second baby because now she's been through it but i describe it as like a baby in one arm and then chasing presley because she's like all into discovering things she likes to climb um she's just getting we got her a dryer waste a little whiteboard and she's just coloring and so she's just learning all because of the stuff says all kinds of stuff so the name Siena Grace Party where do that come from well Summer love Sienna
Starting point is 00:43:56 I was like it's a minivan she didn't care I liked Grace Sienna Grace sounded good together it gets the minivan out a great minivan that's a great minivan it's a Toyota okay but it just kind of flows together
Starting point is 00:44:13 I thought Grace Party was a pretty name kind of it sounded cool but seeing it gray so you know just just keeping summer happy whatever she wants. How is a day in the life of John Party changed since two children are now in your life?
Starting point is 00:44:29 I don't go I don't you know I do stuff but we stay home quite a bit and it's like I don't know I mean you gotta I thought I had a lot of stuff but these kids like if we go anywhere it is like
Starting point is 00:44:43 we gotta pack all kinds of stuff and it literally like takes us at least a half an hour just to get everything back and ready to get in the car to go anywhere with the kids and that's like a new thing we used to be like let's go yeah you know now it's like oh man is it double time with a second kid or is it like time and a half since you kind of already have it down i don't know we haven't really gone anywhere with cina but it's it's hard because if you're by herself it's you got to wrangle presley and presley's still like she's She just does what she wants. She's still learning communication. And like, I mean, you can't be like, Presley, get in the car. She's not going to be walking down the driveway, you know. So it's good, but we got help. You know, we got great nannies.
Starting point is 00:45:31 So everybody's taking care of it. And it's nice. But we're staying home quite a bit. I'm gone. We stay home. What about the leashes on kids? You know, they have this little back and we're a little leash. Would you ever do that?
Starting point is 00:45:42 I mean, it's not a bad idea, but I don't, I don't. think it looks great. It's not on their neck, by the way. It's just on the back pack. They got a harness. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a hard, they're harnessed. Yeah, I mean.
Starting point is 00:45:52 But do you understand why that would be needed if you had a kid that really wanted to fly out? It's a safety thing, you know, but, um, hey, look, I can't guarantee you, you know, I don't know if I don't know if I put the kid in there. He didn't want to not guarantee. Yeah, yeah. I can't guarantee one day you might see a release on Freshly when I'm seeing them when they're running around. But, um, no, I don't know. I think it's just a full-time watch right now.
Starting point is 00:46:18 We're going to play the new one Friday Night Heartbreaker. I don't know. Talk about why you picked this song. It's a hot girl warning song. It's always been good, you know. Make sure people get their heartbreaker, man. Oh, because she's like Friday night, she goes out and breaks hearts? It's just a fun song.
Starting point is 00:46:36 It's a hot girl warning. Hot girl warning, look out. Do you feel like people know what kind of songs you like if they write one and like, oh, this is a jump party song? we should send this to him. I don't know. I don't know that they wrote, this one's,
Starting point is 00:46:50 it's, it's, it's, it's, it's just cool. It's got a spooky vibe to it. And it's got, it's got, it's kind of a thing to it,
Starting point is 00:46:58 that I gravitated to. And, um, it's just cool. And it's, it's a different song for me. And it's just fun, you know,
Starting point is 00:47:07 and it's got, I don't know, it's, it's, it's got that spooky minor chord to it. And, uh, it's just a fun song.
Starting point is 00:47:14 And, And we still got fiddle and still all over it. But for this new chapter of music, I mean, I work with Jay Joyce. And we hit it off. Love to work with Jay. And it was just like a really cool different sound. I mean, I feel like, you know, you can't just do the same thing in music. You got to change it up.
Starting point is 00:47:34 And it was nice to come in with a fresh, you know, chapter of a new music. And I thought Friday Night Heartbreaker is a cool song. And I thought it was a great lead off to the new project. because it screams like, listen to me. I was doing a bunch of shows. I mean, you're all the way to the end of the year, pretty much, right? Yeah, we got the Christmas thing now. But I love the Christmas show.
Starting point is 00:47:54 Building that up. Yeah, I got the horn section booked. Yeah, that's going to be awesome. We got a horn bus. You don't want to ride on that bus. The horn section rides with the horn section. I would imagine that is the least smelly of the buses. Probably the cleanest.
Starting point is 00:48:06 The cleanest of the buses would be the horn buses. And so you're doing your, Mr. Saturday night, you're doing the Christmas show. How did that go last year? I know you did a couple shows in New York, right? We did one in New York, and it was great. Yeah. And it was so much fun.
Starting point is 00:48:23 The fans in New York are being bummed that we're not back in New York City, but maybe next year. Now we're going to the West Coast, and we've got some shows in New Mexico and Texas. I chose casinos for the Christmas show because I feel like you always get a good theater that can...
Starting point is 00:48:40 I mean, it's all about having a 15-piece band. That's the realist. There's a room. Yeah, there's always room in casinos and people can travel. They can always get a nice hotel. And so I wanted to keep it that way for that. But in the midst of Saturday nights, all amphitheaters and arenas. And so we're excited.
Starting point is 00:48:57 We're busy, but it's fun. How do you warm up your voice? Do you have a specific thing you do before a show to warm up your voice? Hot water. And then, like, I'll have pre-recorded vocal lessons. And I'll probably do that for like 10 minutes. Like the gigi-gee, gee-gee, gee-gee. and you just try to match the pitch
Starting point is 00:49:16 or do you just do I do the vocal runs It's okay Sometimes it's like That's a good one And then the Gee Gee Geekee Geekee or
Starting point is 00:49:28 Um Key key key I mean it's it's It's so strange to people But it really does help If you were to go on stage Without doing any sort of vocal warm up at all And have to do a 90 minute set
Starting point is 00:49:39 I'm good to go by the third song It takes a couple songs Yeah, by the second, the second song, the good. And sometimes, like, we've got this song called Paycheck, and it's like a hardworking, working, man song and girls, too. But we start with just me and an electric and then rocking, and the band comes back in, and that kind of helps, it helps because it's just me in a guitar.
Starting point is 00:50:04 And it's really just singing with the band. It gets louder and more energizing. But, yeah, no, you definitely got to warm up. Do you have any music you listen to it to get yourself fired up before a show? or a specific playlist that you would listen to? No, I mean, honestly, like, I play, like, a lot of lo-fi on the road. Just, just, because we've been in new music land,
Starting point is 00:50:27 and sometimes it's just nice to hear music with no lyrics. Just, like, you don't have to think about it. That's what lo-fi is? Yeah, it's, like, it's, like, very, like, funky. Like, it's cool. Like, if you were studying, you'd put lo-fi on, or if you just want to chill. And, because sometimes, you know,
Starting point is 00:50:42 you guys got to listen to music all time and, you know, lyrics, they give a motion to make you think and see your songwriter, you do this, blah, blah, and lo-fi is just like chilling. So. Do you get recognized without the hat? Yes. And I was,
Starting point is 00:50:59 my favorite one that's happened that I never thought of it. I just had shorts, like a polo shirt, and we were at Top Golf, somewhere, like outside of Philadelphia. And I was like, nobody's going to know me here.
Starting point is 00:51:16 And these two cute teenage girls in their mom came, like, follow me. And they're like, can we get a picture? I was like, wow, you got, it just blew me away because I was just like in backwards hat, playing top golf. And I don't know. So yeah. How tall are you? Six four.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Yeah. Yeah, it's hard to miss. Yeah, I mean, I. Jealous. I do, you know, in summer, if they follow summer, summer, is always posting pictures of me, like just wearing. athletic gear outside. Are you a good golfer?
Starting point is 00:51:46 I'm getting better. I'm getting better. I can par and then definitely a lot of snowmands. But I can hit the par. That would be an eight. Because it looks like a snowman. Oh, okay, gotcha.
Starting point is 00:51:58 You pick up after snowmen. If you're playing after snowmen's, it's your wrong game. You play pickleball at all? I do not play pickleball. Because there's like two groups of like the artisty clubs around here, you know, that everybody plays golf.
Starting point is 00:52:12 or pickleball, some do both. But like, you know, Dirk's is a big pickleball guy. Yeah. Dirk's, he's like, what, 31 flavors, whatever, remember when Dirk's was into curling?
Starting point is 00:52:24 Mountain bike, in the curling. Like he was like, the little sweeper guys. Yes, yes, yes. They were like trying to go to the Olympics. Like, him and his band around curling. I was so funny. Like, where do you even find that in Nashville?
Starting point is 00:52:39 But it's hockey. So, very much. What is your favorite song of yours of all time? Of all time? It's a tough one. I mean, honestly, I think head over boots is one of my favorites because... One favorite. I got a lot of favorite.
Starting point is 00:52:55 They're like, we're going to celebrate John Party today. We're going to play one song. And it can always change, but today... Head over boots. Head over boots. It's just you can dance to it. It's happy. It's about falling in love.
Starting point is 00:53:09 And that's why I wrote it. When I wrote Head of Her Boots, I went to a Texas dance hall, and everybody was dancing the sad music. Because it had the dance beat to it, but it was like, she left me. And like dancing. You know, and so I was like, man, we could really use like a dancing song. It's about falling in love. And like I'm Head of Her Boots for you. And that's how I came up.
Starting point is 00:53:33 And when you write music, and I feel like when we make music, we make music to hit people's emotions. and like, you know, make them feel stuff. And for that, for like my first number one and having that idea and I wanted to make people happier while they're dancing, it's like, it's just a good moment. And we play that last song we play every night. What is your favorite song of all time?
Starting point is 00:53:58 All these questions. It's like for you're on the island, what one album would you bring? Or it's like an interview. I know. Favorite song of all time. Mm-hmm. It's tough.
Starting point is 00:54:15 That's very hard. Okay, let's do this. Your Mount Rushmore of songs. Do you need me to vamp while you think? That takes time. We have all of it. But you've never been asked, what's your favorite song? Like, if you were to come to me and go, what is your favorite song?
Starting point is 00:54:28 I can easily go, John Mayer stop this train. I can go Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain. Willie Nelson. I can go, Ain't No Sunshine. Bill Withers. Like, those are like my favorite songs of all time. And do I commit to those forever? I don't know, but right now, those are my favorite songs of all time.
Starting point is 00:54:44 Okay. So we can switch it. Well, during this interview, you will not switch it, but the next time you come in, I will not hold you personally responsible for anything you say here. On the road again, Willie Nelson, a solid song. Got a great story behind it, too. He wrote it for his movie, and the movie was done when they didn't have a song. And I think he, like, last minute was like,
Starting point is 00:55:04 needs to be a song about being on the road. And it's on the road again. Road on the back of a paper bag on an airplane. And it was such a legendary song And I love that, you know On the road again Starts with the chorus too Which is super interesting

Starting point is 00:56:12 There's a father-daughter song called She Drives Away. It's beautiful. This new record is very, it's personal, but it's also, you still want to go dance at Billy Bob's. You know, you still want to go downtown Nashville dance around. And it's rocking. The new song is out.
Starting point is 00:56:29 We played it Friday in a Heartbreaker. I don't know anything about an album yet. So we're waiting on. That's coming at some point. The album is done. And we're just going to say it's going to be at the top of next year, like the first. One time he's. take like nine years for a new album so i don't know remember that time
Starting point is 00:56:42 it went to like nine years for an album i was like hey by the time this record come out zach brown probably put two records out uh the the tour september fifth starts in baltimore um 16 more shows on the mr saturday night world tour everywhere is doing the christmas shows again and i don't know man it's it's really good to see you congrats on everything and can't wait to hear all the new music thank you know i can't wait i can't wait i can't wait wait guys did you get to four because mount russell's four he didn't i said three and i think he just my three, and I don't want to put him under any more pressure. He already was like, you're putting too much on me.
Starting point is 00:57:14 What is this? I said, it's an interview. I wanted to clarify, because I didn't know if he knew how many people were on Mount Rushmore. Another one is New York, New York by Frank Sinatra. Like, you hear that. It's like, dun, da, ba, na, na, nah, nah. And we played it at the Christmas show last year. And it was with the band, like the horns.
Starting point is 00:57:33 I was like, start spreading the news. It was so. Is that so fun to do something that's not that you don't do traditionally, that you love to do on stage? Yeah, and the crowd didn't see it coming. They were like Christmas show. And we also did some of the singles, like with the horn section, because that's what we do.
Starting point is 00:57:52 We'll play like, play night shift, and the horns are going, bon-da-boom, and the ones are going like, gur. It's like, this is so cool. And it gives, like, you know, he kind of get away from the Christmas, go back to the Christmas,
Starting point is 00:58:07 and then we hit him with New York, New York, and like the crowd lit up and we're in New York City at the beacon in the heart of the city and it was just like the audience lit up and they sang the whole song and was a really special moment. I'm happy you came in buddy.

Starting point is 00:59:12 And so I've already read over them. I'm happy to be honest about mine. I'm not going to tell you the actual secret, but I can tell you if I do it or not. Okay. Let's go, husbands keep from wives. Number one, their fears.
Starting point is 00:59:27 No. Yeah. My wife knows my fears. Every one of my fears. But they're all professional, just about. Like how? Like insecurity. Just a general insecurity.
Starting point is 00:59:39 it took a long time for me to open up about those. But that one was it. My fears aren't super personal, though. So my, but. But is there a fear of abandonment? Oh, but she knows that already. Went to therapy. Right.
Starting point is 00:59:51 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's very personal. But I didn't like, hey, how about this fear? That was just kind of taken, pulled out. But then there's a fear of like. Yeah, and there's not anything to this. I'm going to give me crying. I mean, you keep going.
Starting point is 01:00:01 Oh, no, this was more work. I think an example, just to people understand. You can correct me if I'm wrong. But, like, if you put up tickets, is there a fear? You might not sell them. Every time. And I have friends that I talk with that also put up tickets. And we call each.
Starting point is 01:00:16 I have two. And I'll name drop just because we are like the most anxiety-filled people. When it comes to us, we always feel like every time we list a show, no one's ever going to come again. It's me, Brett Eldridge and Ben Rector, and we are the anxiety brothers. And we call. And every time we're like, I'm afraid no one's ever going to come to a show. But all three of you guys, people show up. Isn't that crazy?
Starting point is 01:00:38 so far, but the next time, for them, people are always going to come. For me, I think every time's the last time. That's a fear, though, but I do talk about with my wife that. Wishing their wives are more like their mothers. No. No. No, that's not a, no. That's not a secret.
Starting point is 01:00:53 You don't want that? No. I would wish their wives are more like their mothers. I don't know. My wife's mom's pretty awesome. But I see a lot of similarities. Oh, I didn't mean your own mom. Your own mom.
Starting point is 01:01:03 It says your mom. Oh, is that, oh, their mother's. I don't want to be like my mom. I'm not trying to make all my mom. I miss right that. I didn't marry me. my mom. No, I think it's, I'm cool. You guys are thinking about physical, but you're, we're talking about nurture. Nurturing characteristics. Oh. Like, oh, my mom used to do this for me. My mom was this
Starting point is 01:01:20 way with my dad. Okay, I can see that. So then you have this expectation. The fact that your mind went to doing it with your mom. Yeah, I don't have this one because my mom was an addict and loved her, but we didn't have that relationship. So I don't have that at all. And I thought, That's why I automatically thought she'd be more like her mom. And I'm like, oh, they're both pretty awesome. Yeah. What about, do you wish your wives are more like your moms? Because your mom's raised you.
Starting point is 01:01:47 You had good relationships with them. Now, I do wish my wife was, like, more creative, like, with Halloween stuff and, like, project. Was your mom like that? My mom was. Okay. Like, when you say that, I'm like, my wife would rather just go buy the costume. My mom would rather make it or go to goodwill and piece it together. That's fun.
Starting point is 01:02:03 And that was more, made it more fun to me. But my wife didn't like that. I like, do you tell your wife that? Yeah. Do you say, why don't you do this more like my mom? Well, we used to make them because, yeah, we just don't have time. I'm not your mom. Eddie, you?
Starting point is 01:02:16 How's that going to? Yeah, so my mom was a great cook. So what I had, I had my wife learn from my mom how to cook. Oh, your mom taught her? That's right. And your wife actually was like, I'm happy to learn? My wife cooks exactly what my mom used to cook. High five, dude.
Starting point is 01:02:29 How cool is that. Now, my mom didn't cook, so that's the problem. But you guys are both in love with your moms. No, no. Then we have it. Criticisms about their wife's current look. Oh, like, y'all wouldn't say that. That's a secret.
Starting point is 01:02:41 You keep it to yourself. You're not going to be like, I don't like your new haircut. Here's what I'm going to say. I think there may be a time where I probably will not be honest. I haven't had to do that yet. Yeah. But I think there could be, I'm sure she does it with me all the time. I'll say we're running late, you know, and she's like, how does this look?
Starting point is 01:02:57 I'll be like, it's fine. Let's go. We got to go. We got to go. But that's not the truth. Even though it doesn't look good. Like you're like, I wish you wouldn't wear that? But I wouldn't think that, but like, yeah, that doesn't look great.
Starting point is 01:03:06 but we got to go. That's a good point. You know what I mean? I don't like that outfit, but just wear it. Let's go. You ever say that? She changed his outfits three times. That one's fine.
Starting point is 01:03:15 Let's just go. Okay, let's say y'all do have time. Are you going to say, no, I don't like that? Yeah, I'm like, that shirt, that's the bad mood. I'm like, you're always in a bad mood. I will be honest. If it's like, I don't like that. I'm not a fan.
Starting point is 01:03:26 I'll say that. But then I also realize that she knows more than I do. It's like me arguing astrology with an astrologist. I'm like, you're stupid. and they're like, but I do astrology and I'm like, astrology is not real
Starting point is 01:03:38 and then I win. Yeah. Oh. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I said nothing there. I mean. But no, very rare.
Starting point is 01:03:45 Very rare. How about this? Trouble at work. What do you mean? Nah, I tell her. What trouble do you get in at work? If there is any trouble, I tell her,
Starting point is 01:03:54 I tell her trouble at work all the time. You're lying then. No. And then lustful thoughts. Of other women? Why would you tell them with that? You would never tell them that? Why would you tell her that?
Starting point is 01:04:04 The five most common secrets husbands keep from their wives' lustful thoughts. I don't have them. You have them on air. Like, what are you talking about? That's true. He has his public. That's a great point. He can't even say Hallibir is without being like, Hallibur.
Starting point is 01:04:21 We have video of him having the thoughts. Hallibur. Okay, I'm going to do the opposite side in a second. We're going to do wives from their husbands coming up in a second. We're going to do most common secrets now that wives keep from their husbands. Here we go. Old Flames. What about them?
Starting point is 01:04:38 I don't know who they are. Oh, like they just don't act like they never existed. Yeah, or like. How much you really loved them? Maybe. I don't know. I mean, that's why I'm asking. Old Flames. Like, maybe you lie about getting you being the dumper when you were the dumpee.
Starting point is 01:04:54 You're still. Yeah. You're my only love. Well, you came out with that one strong. Wow. I mean, we weren't really in that way. Why should you take a shot? So what do you think?
Starting point is 01:05:06 Because again, you're not married now, but you were for a long time. Yeah, I was married for a really long time. Oh, what are your old flames? Was there anything that? Because I honestly, I don't think that you have, if there's no benefit and there's only pain, I don't feel like you should always have to say it. The details.
Starting point is 01:05:21 Yeah, I don't feel like that's not telling the truth. If there's no benefit at all. I think there has benefit with pain and authenticity if there's a greater goal, if it can get you somewhere. But I don't think this is one of those things where it's like, yeah, man. He was hung like a horse. Oh.
Starting point is 01:05:37 You know what I mean? Yeah. It just doesn't help. Yeah, yeah. I don't say that. I know. That doesn't help. That's, you're going to wish that didn't have it.
Starting point is 01:05:43 A hidden nest egg. Oh, money? Yeah. Yeah. Interesting. She's not saying a lot. She's nodding and thinking. I think, yeah, they may have a little to the side.
Starting point is 01:05:55 Women may have a little to the side. Are you hypothetically speaking? Hypothetically speaking, depending on, I didn't. But depending. on what your circumstances, like if you work or maybe don't work, if you have a way to say. No, no, we know all the reasons, but it just felt like that was a very personal tone. Okay. They have a staff.
Starting point is 01:06:14 No, but she, everything she says, it's just like, yeah. But moving on. I want to respect it. This one is not even a real thing. This next one's not a real thing. How much they spent when they went shopping? I know, actually, but that's funny. Her real weight.
Starting point is 01:06:27 Because here's the thing about guys. We can be attracted, we can be not attracted, we can be mid-attracted, we can be mid-attracted, whatever, we don't actually care about a number. We don't care. There's not a single guy I know that's like, I like on best at 151 or 118. It's just a visual thing. And guys like different curves and thin and not,
Starting point is 01:06:48 but it's never a number thing. So there's no need to hide a real weight number. You can do things like we're different clothes. Guys, would you agree that there's not like actual number? I don't know my wife's weight. Me either. And I don't even care about a number. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:02 The number thing is not true. I would disagree with this because the guys don't care about a number. They just want to be attracted. Right. This is the thing of stuff that y'all might say, too, though. Like, y'all, like how tall you are and your shoe size. You want to see my driver's license? Is it, is it, is it lie?
Starting point is 01:07:18 No. It says 6-1. I am 6-1 when I wear shoes. That's not being real on your license. Okay, but when he took his driver's license picture, he had shoes on. Yeah, a tall shoes. What kind of shoes? I had to measure there.
Starting point is 01:07:28 Oh, dude, I wore my tallest one. I wore what they called Chunkies. Yes, chunkies. but they uh i'm six one of my driver license um another one that wives keep from their husbands getting hit on by other men my wife doesn't like i'm volunteering it but sometimes i'll just not be like we'll be at the airport or something and i'll see a guy walk up to talk up to her you know what do you say they do you say like what do you say no i i'm honestly up and they're probably like who's this guy about bobby why why i try to do i just i'm i'm i don't take any shots of you that was just funny i know it's just funny funny,
Starting point is 01:08:04 sad. It's kind of a compliment in a weird way. If your wife gets in on it? Yeah. Like I don't take any, I'm not insecure about that at all. I kind of like it.
Starting point is 01:08:15 She didn't do anything. She didn't do nothing and someone else found her attractive and wanted to go up and say hi. Is that a compliment to you guys or do you get like jealous? I don't get jealous. I know who's just coming home to.
Starting point is 01:08:25 I'd rather it not happen. What? That lets you know your wife's hot. I'd rather, like I'm good. I don't know that I'm holding up a sign. please hit on my wife. But it makes you feel good. Okay.
Starting point is 01:08:36 And then finally, secret snacking before or after meals. I can see that on both sides. So if the person's saying they're on some sort of plan, like I'm trying to lose weight or I'm trying and then they don't. I don't know. That's definitely a woman thing. But those are secrets that wives keep from husbands. Secret snacking.
Starting point is 01:08:53 Secret drinking. That's a cool band name. What is it? Hi, guys. We're secret snacking. Thanks for coming to the show tonight. This story comes to us from Chicago, Illinois. There's a 17-year-old.
Starting point is 01:09:09 He wants to go to the mall. So he says, hey, let me call an Uber. Gets an Uber ride and says, hey, man, if you'll just go straight down the highway, be better than it. Uber driver's like, nah, takes the side roads, take a longer route, drops him off at the mall. 17-year-old goes, one star. Yeah, if he went long to make more money, I get it, one.
Starting point is 01:09:27 Yeah, you know what, that's one-starable. If that's the case, yeah. So the Uber driver got his rating. It's like, huh, you gave me one star, huh? Uh-huh. Next day, shows back up at the house and throws a brick through the front door. What? Over one star? Okay. Not get it. I mean, that's one star, but he deserved the one star.
Starting point is 01:09:43 This is my fear of retaliation. It happens. But what happened, though, in the retaliation, the one star was deserved. I know, but I'm not going to give it. So your fear of retaliation will actually keep you for doing the right thing. Yeah, I'll just say, no, I won't rate it. No, we're rating. Ooh. But then other people could be subject to abuse to be taken advantage of because you didn't speak out. But you'd rather them get the abuse.
Starting point is 01:10:10 But you would rather not have retaliation than other people. I mean, I felt that. That sounds like a their problem. Exactly. There we go. All right, good job. I'm Lunchbox. That's your Bonehead Story of the Day.
Starting point is 01:10:22 We're going to go talk to Debbie, who's on the phone. Debbie, good morning. I just wanted to share that Abby and they both inspired me. I went skydiving last Sunday. And I had never thought of doing that until I heard that they did that. Oh, that's really cool. And how was your experience? It was great talking to everybody, getting to know everybody,
Starting point is 01:10:47 hearing everybody's story, the whole process. And then as soon as I got out of the airplane, I got so sick. Like when you were actually falling, you got sick? Oh, yeah. I was trying really hard to not let anything out because I didn't want it to get on the person. I was going to say that would be terrible. All of a sudden you go, whoa, and it just goes to that face. I know.
Starting point is 01:11:15 That's what I was concentrating on the whole time. No, you can't throw up. You can't throw up. You can't throw up. And then, but I would not change the thing. I'm so glad I did it. Did you throw up? Not until on the way home.
Starting point is 01:11:31 Oh. Good for you. But it was, you know, now that a few days have passed, I can say it was really great. And I'm glad I did it. Just to be able to do it to have that experience. Yeah, and like face of fear. Thank you for inspiring me. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:51 Eddie and Abby, great job for inspiring her. Anytime it doesn't have to be skydiving. Anytime you kind of do something that makes you uncomfortable and you get through it, you're like, dang, kind of proud of myself for doing it. And it also allows you to go, I could probably do other things that make me uncomfortable too. So I hope this opens a little door for you. Yeah. And that's kind of why I did it.
Starting point is 01:12:09 Well, if I can do this, then I can do anything else. Do anything. Anything. Take a look. It's in a book. Reading Rainbow. I can do anything. I think at one point in our life, most of us all here have been skydiving.
Starting point is 01:12:26 I hated it. I did it by myself. Went up, got another group. just jumped, hated it, miserable. Worst thing ever. Glad I did it because I tend to enjoy doing things I don't enjoy doing, but only when it's over because I'm like, cool, still got it. Hated it.
Starting point is 01:12:41 And my attachee was so much smaller than me. It was a female. Or tandem. Yeah, the technical term of attachee, I think. Yeah, the tandem person. She was like 5'2 and she did backflips out of the plane. Whoa. It sucked.
Starting point is 01:12:56 And I got it all on video or did until my house got robbed and they took the video. That's not good. I know. So now I can claim anything. We actually jumped out of parachute. We'll never know. We caught one in mid-air. But I remember the worst part about it for me was when they pulled that and you get sucked up.
Starting point is 01:13:11 Yeah. That's bad. That's bad. It's your general store, we'll call it that. Your general store gets tugged hard. But, yeah, I'm glad I did it. I would never do it again. Did you like it?
Starting point is 01:13:24 Yeah, I would never do it again, though. Lunchwarks and I went together, and I did not want to. If someone wasn't attached to me, I think I was going to change my mind. Like, I did not want to, like, go forward. Well, yeah, you wouldn't, you should have changed your mind if no one was attached to you. Well, I know, but I mean, if I had trained and done all that, I'd just, I'd just probably been like, never mind. You like at lunch?
Starting point is 01:13:43 I loved it. Loved it. Every part of it. Every part. I mean, not the general store part, but the free fall was amazing. Yeah. The free fall, though, just feels like your head's out of the window. That's crazy, man.
Starting point is 01:13:54 I didn't get motion sick doing it. I get motion sick doing everything. I didn't get motion sick doing it. And I remember as I was falling, I was like, well, if I die, I just die. I had that brief moment where I was like, there's nothing I can do. I'm probably just dead. Yeah. But the scariest part was to float down because something goes wrong there.
