Starting point is 00:03:20 Morning. Miranda Lambert in a little bit. I don't want our listeners to be taken advantage of. I don't care so much about people that aren't our listeners. Let's be honest. That's a good point. Yeah. We don't want our listeners to be taken advantage of.
Starting point is 00:03:34 So we do scam alerts all the time, meaning like these are little things that almost tricked us or things we'd read in the news. news that trick people. So we go scam alert, scam alert. And then we share things. Now, this one's a very, very personal one to me, but it can happen to anybody. And so I want to walk through some of this. A couple of these are voicemails. Now, these are not true. This is not me. But Ray, give me the first voicemail there. Hello, this is Ari's calling again from Lindsay Fonseca's management office. It turns out that someone is using the name of your podcast to try to scam her. And Iheart Radio confirmed that the email used to reach out to her isn't the one that they have on files.
Starting point is 00:04:14 So I just want to confirm that she actually isn't booked to tape on Thursday. So I'm book anybody. I, at this moment, maybe I will eventually, am not familiar with Lindsay Fonseca or her management office. So people act like me. And we've had issues where people have scammed people out of money saying they're me. And now they're trying to like book them for stuff to get them to pay. This happens all the time. Ray, please give me the next one.
Starting point is 00:04:38 I received an email from the Bobby Bones show asking me to be on an online podcast. I wanted to confirm that this was legit and not a scam. If you could possibly call me back, that would be great. Again, I got an email from Jeff Martin at online podcast with the Bivebones at gmail.com requesting me to participate in a podcast regarding my journey. She may have a cool journey. Didn't reach out to her. And again, this is not just to me.
Starting point is 00:05:08 This happens with a lot of known folks on Cole Swindale. I'd like some gift cards. Well, sometimes it could really be cool. But if they don't have a blue checkmark, it is not them. Well, but on email, there's no checkmarks. If it's a Gmail, it's probably not them. That's tough. If you get a text, it only has the five digits on it.
Starting point is 00:05:30 It's like, this is FedEx. This is Home Depot. That's real because you have to register for that five digit thing. If it's another, what I get all the time, I get the, hey, your verification is going to be lost on X, which is Twitter. And I'm like, oh, I am verified, but that's all a scam too. Go look at the person sending it, like click into the email address and then it's like one, two, three, nine, four, further the relay at java.com. So here's another Ashley Monroe, who I love as a person and an artist. So they sent this to Ashley Monroe.
Starting point is 00:06:01 Hey, this is Bobby's manager, Jeff Martin. Jeff Martin's not my manager. I think he's a race car driver? Mark Martin. Mark Martin was the all race car driver. Yeah, yeah. I'm looking for artists online for a multinational brand. We're excited to offer a $3,000 compensation.
Starting point is 00:06:17 And so they sent it over and they're like, is this a lot? No. Oh, wow. So artists are getting emails from quote unquote you. Yes, my point is, I'm not even famous. Imagine when they pick real famous people and that they attack and just send this out in thousands and the money they're making. And so many people fall for it.
Starting point is 00:06:33 But after looking up Lindsay Fonseca, we should book her. She's pretty good? She's hot. Oh, you didn't listen to her music? She's an actress. Oh, got it. Yeah, she's not even a singer that I know of. What has she been in?
Starting point is 00:06:46 She was in Young and the Restless. Their big character wasn't how I met your mother. She was there, I think, for a few seasons. Oh. Yeah. She's also in kick ass in a lot of other movies. Oh. Okay, look, guys, it's a very, if anybody is offering you anything in the whole world at all,
Starting point is 00:07:01 if it's online or in a white van, don't take it. White band. That's so mean. Those white bands used to get you back in the day. I was on my dad drove. I know. And then his is a situation. We want to look out for you.
Starting point is 00:07:13 We try to look out for you. We try to look out for ourselves. We also, I think most, all of us use LifeLock. Like, LifeLock is awesome. LifeLock monitors millions of data points for identity theft, fixes it or your money back. Save up to 40% your first year with the promo code, Bones. LifeLock.com, Terms Apply. LifeLock is great.
Starting point is 00:07:33 for situations like this, but I just want to say publicly, I am not, that's not a thing. For me, I'm not trying to book all these people. I do, but I don't offer money or anything. Yeah. Also don't pay people to come on stuff. No, that would be weird. Yeah. I just got my life lock email, you know, occasionally they send out the emails telling you all the things they blocked you from or they saved you from. I know. I see it. Sometimes I don't look at the whole list because I'm like, oh man, how many people got into me? Oh, I like it. You do? Look at them. Interference. I just trust it. Interference. Interference. Sometimes it's like, We found this on the dark web.
Starting point is 00:08:06 Change your password. That's good. I'll change my password immediately on that. Life lock's awesome. 40% promo code Bones, but scams are out there everywhere. Be careful. Don't click any links.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Ever, just stop clicking links. It's like a hunger strike. Link strike, period. Don't click any link. Hello, Bobby Bones. I work at a corporate office for a major jewelry retailer. It is a high security area
Starting point is 00:08:39 in regards to cameras, metal detectors. I cannot wear any clothes with metal. Because of this, my boss encouraged us, since we're also in the back, to wear sweatpants and leggings to make it easier on asset protection to get people in and out of doors to work quicker. So I went shopping, bought some yoga pants. I brought them home. I put on a pair. My husband got very upset. My husband said he could see everything and started yelling that every man was going to see what I got.
Starting point is 00:09:03 He said if I was going to wear them in public that I need to go up a size or two. He gets upset when I wear dresses that aren't floor. Oh, man. That aren't floor link. Dresses that aren't floor. Floor length, yeah. Show any cleavage, wear anything tight. This is not an exception.
Starting point is 00:09:19 I told him this is a hymn issue that I was going to wear them. He started yelling, I should wear jeans. We've already been fighting all week. Do you think he needs to get over it or should I hear him out? Signed, professional yoga pants wearer. Now initially, I thought to myself, is this boss a weirdo? Because the boss is like, oh, ladies, you must wear yoga pants. But he also said sweatpants.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Yeah, lose sweatpants. Even then, though, I feel you. Like if I were to come up and we all were in a room, All right, let's have a meeting. Here's what I want. I want all the ladies, I wear yoga pants, sweatpants every day,
Starting point is 00:09:47 and sports bras, and sports bras. Security issue. That would be weird. You guys would be like, won't you the weirdest dude. Yeah, that would be weird. Right.
Starting point is 00:09:53 So my first thought was that. Good boost morale, though. So I'm going to remove a corporate office, major jewelry retailer, and the metal detector. Like, it takes seven extra seconds to be like, okay, but let's remove that because there is,
Starting point is 00:10:08 it's seemingly an issue more than just work here. the husband said he could see everything and then other things dresses that aren't floor length that would have been my first flag well before the yoga pants show any cleavage wear anything tight no exception so this is something between you two that is going to have to be worked out but i would say first question was did you not know this before you married him because if this is something that you've known that he's extremely conservative with his own and the people around him that's going to be a harder battle to gain any ground in because that's always been the standard that was set and agreed upon early. And I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:10:53 I mean, I would never do that to my wife. And I don't really like it that he does it, but it's not my life. So if this is how it's always been, it's definitely going to be more of a row upstream. If it's new, why? Like what happened? it's obviously going to have to be a conversation. Is it worth a fight at home to have to wear clothes? This is what you really have to weigh.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Is it worth a fight at home constantly to wear clothes that aren't? A floor-length skirt all the time? I hear you. I think it's stupid too. Yes, this is worth a fight. But what if it's always been, what if it's always been from the moment you met and that's always been like, hey, I would, I really want my wife to wear very conservative clothing. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:11:36 Well, and so you've now evolved and you're like, okay, I don't want to do this anymore. Because again, I don't agree with him, but I'm not him and it's not illegal. And if that's been the standard, I have to at least respect that even though I don't agree with it. I felt that. Yeah. Well, it's worth a conversation because, yeah, if you dated and long skirts and married long skirts and agreed upon long skirts, but now you like short skirts, I, you know, that's a conversation. It sounds like they've had conversations, though, because she said, I told him this is a him issue and then I'm going to wear them. So they've had conversations.
Starting point is 00:12:06 Dang. my advice to you is isn't worth the constant fighting at home if it is worth it then just buckle up because it's going to take a while for those boundaries that have been thought and agreed upon to change it's going to be very rough for a while it's going to be right um if it's not worth it wear the stupid dress it's floor length until you get things on vacation and go crazy go yeah what you have to change in the car? You're a teenager. Yeah, yeah. Like, no. It's just be like, let's talk about this. But again, they've already talked about it. I know.
Starting point is 00:12:43 I don't need to have more talks, more talks. Third party, something. This doesn't sound like a guy that will go to therapy. I'll be honest with you. Third party, this is not the guy that goes, okay, I agree to go to therapy with you. This is somebody who's like, I am right. This is the only, I don't like this guy.
Starting point is 00:12:56 For the record, I don't like the guy. Whomever this hypothetical guy is. But if it is worth the rough waters for a long time, then you should fight this because you don't want to have to live your whole life like this, but it will be rough for a while, especially if it's always been agreed upon. If not, you just have to sneak it or wear the dresses. Me, I would fight, I'd fight it. Power to the people. Justice for short skirts. Oh, yeah. Or medium skirts.
Starting point is 00:13:19 Yeah. I feel like this is my body, my clothes. But that should have been way early on. I know, but just because we're married, you don't own what I do. But if that's always been the standard that he's set, it's weird for her to get mad at it now whenever she could have chosen to not be married to a guy that has those stupid rules. Yeah, I know. Hey. Yeah, I have other thoughts, but I mean, I'm sure everything I say you're like, they probably already said that.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Okay, Amy, divorce. Amy's thought is divorce? No, that's not what I'm saying, but it's just a bummer. It's sad sometimes. Which I get, maybe he's trying to be protective and he doesn't want other people looking at her. He's a loser. He's a loser.
Starting point is 00:13:56 But, yeah. Yeah, he's a loser. So, if it's worth it, fight it. It's going to be rough for all. a while, though. It's going to be really rough for a while. And you're going to have to give something back in some way. Like, you're going to have to go out and dress like Haymates' tail. Mary Poppins.
Starting point is 00:14:13 Mary Poppins. Yeah, times. Yes. That's a tough. I think he's married a dud. I'm going to be honest with you. On the Bobby Bones Show now. Parker McCollum. Parker McCollum. What's up, buddy? Hey, not a lot, man. Living, baby. How you doing? Hey, pretty good. Baby, how you doing? That's how we talk to each other. We see each other. We go a cool guy.
Starting point is 00:14:29 So, baby? Hey, question number one. What has been, uh, what's been like living back in Texas? Awesome. Greatest thing I ever did, my man. Like moved back home? Like whose decision was that and why did you move back home? You know, we've been talking about it.
Starting point is 00:14:43 I really only moved to Nashville when COVID happened and pretty hard was, you know, I had my first number one double platinum song and didn't play a show the entire time. And I got a little nervous that, you know, maybe everything I had worked for was going to be gone when the world turned back on. So I was like, man, I better go up there and just, you know, kind of hustle it up a little bit just to, you know, make sure they don't forget about us. And luckily, they did not. So I was there for almost two years and then, you know, I always knew I was going to move back here. And, and I don't think had COVID ever happened, I would have left and moved to Nashville. But,
Starting point is 00:15:21 you know, things happened and that's the way life goes. But moving back, I've really, really enjoyed it. Hallie has to. Where are you now? Are you at home? I'm at home right now. those awards behind you. What do you got there? Oh. Is that a real set or do you put all this stuff together for the background of when you do stuff like this? Or is that really a room and like a vibe you keep in there? Because it's very award friendly.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Oh, thank you. No, it's just my office. I've got a bunch of gold and platinum stuff on the walls and CMT Awards, ACM awards. You know, a lot of, a lot of... You got a ring light. A lot of cool stuff in here, actually. You got a ring light. Look at you, influencer with your ringlight.
Starting point is 00:16:03 I do. Shout out to my assistant who went and got that out of the closet. Universal Records just sent me about seven of them. This is my ringlight debut. Hey, I saw you, and it's possibly one of the greatest recoveries on stage in the history of stage recoveries. You slipped, and that happens to everybody all the time. And instead of just like slipping and falling, you like barrel rolled. And you're already like a cool dude.
Starting point is 00:16:29 Like, I see your style. I'm like Parker's Super Cool. cool, but when you pulled this off, I was like, that's next level. Thoughts, do you remember that? You know, I've been waiting on the day. I knew it was going to happen at some point. I've come real close many times. And I've always kind of prided myself on, you know, the recoveries that I've had.
Starting point is 00:16:49 But I knew the day was coming. And it was my first show back from, you know, two and a half weeks off when, when Hall and I had the new baby. And, you know, I didn't feel good before. I went on stage. I remember telling my tour manager came. I was like, man, I just don't feel good tonight. But the crowd was so, so intense as soon as the lights went down.
Starting point is 00:17:10 I mean, insanely loud there in New Mexico. And that was during the first song. And I've always said, Bobby, I've always, I knew the day was coming. I knew I was going to spill at some point in my career. And I just always said, God, please let me be able to get up. And that was during the first song. So had I fallen and like broken something or tour something and couldn't get up and had to stop the show?
Starting point is 00:17:30 that's a much different aftermath than, you know, just busting your butt and hopping back up. It was so cool. It almost looked purposeful. It almost looked like that was part of a move. It was. Yeah, but he'd have to do that every show and eventually. But yeah, I know it was like one of the coolest falls turned into A. I'm Parker and I'm an athlete and I sing songs that I've ever seen. Talk about the baby. Tell me a baby story. Well, you know, it's kind of funny. I came home yesterday and Hallie had gotten what they call PPP's. and it looks like a little cloth cone that goes over where the baby pees from because he's been peeing on me quite a bit when I've been changing his diaper. So I've, I've, my son has peed on me more than once and very high up in the air.
Starting point is 00:18:19 He's got great, great distance. Really gets it from his dad, right. It's genetic, I'm sure. I'm six three and it's, it could go over my head. So now we have the PPPs. So they're major Yancey Tyler McCollum. Am I correct on that? You are correct.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Why all the names? Well, I wanted him. My middle name's Yancy. That's my mom's side of family. And man, I've always taken a ton of pride in the people that I come from and always really, really tried to represent my family the best that I could,
Starting point is 00:18:50 you know, kind of being in the public eye a little bit. And always had that top of mind and wanted to make them proud of, of, you know, not just what I was doing in country music, but, you know, the way I was carrying myself in all situations. And so I wanted to, you know, I knew McCollum was already going to be, you know, kind of carried on because it's my last name, obviously, and Yancey's my middle name. And then Tyler is my brother's name. My sister had four kids. He used everybody's name but his.
Starting point is 00:19:13 So I felt like, I felt like we had to get him in there somehow. And he's the one who really inspired me to be a songwriter. And, you know, as I was a small kid. So, and then I was watching the UT football highlights University of Texas the real UT one day and I said man major Macaulam would be cool but I wanted to call him Yancey Tyler and have him go by Yancey Tyler and call him Yancey Tyler but she could never commit to it so we we found a happy medium and Major Yancey Tyler McCollum. Are you offended
Starting point is 00:19:46 because I'll just follow this because I like three more questions but whenever the SEC brought Texas in they did go with Tennessee as the real UT where you is listed in Texas as TEX. So your thoughts on that? Yeah, I mean, I think, you know, University of Texas is extremely superior to the University of Tennessee. And so I fully understand University of Tennessee has been in SEC for a long time. And University of Texas is brand new, but they're lighting it up right now. So I don't think they'll have any problem, you know, dethroning University of Tennessee as the real UT here pretty soon.
Starting point is 00:20:23 Yeah, maybe every year they play and whomever wins gets to be the real UT, the UT Bowl. That's what they should call that rivalry. You know, I think that would be a great thing if there was any really competition. It's kind of solidified itself, probably a century ago. All right, fair enough. I have no dog in this fight, so I'll let you guys. I didn't even go to college, dude. I can't say anything.
Starting point is 00:20:43 I have no, I'm irrelevant. All right, I have three final things to ask about. Number one, congratulations. CMA nomination for Burn It Down. pretty proud of that. That's a songwriter award, man. That's everything to me. So I'm really, really, really grateful for that.
Starting point is 00:21:00 Where'd you write that song? I rode at my house in Nashville. In the real tea. Real tea. The real tea. Tennessee. You know, there was a line one time. It said I'd rather be a fence boasts in Texas than the king of Tennessee.
Starting point is 00:21:12 I've heard it. I have heard that. Yes, yes, yes. And so, you know, not to start the rivalry. Not at all. Because I'm not in either one. I'm an Arkansas guy. But no, congratulations on that.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Again, I know it's a songwriter award. you are a super proud songwriter. So congratulations. Thank you. I mean, it was also like your fourth number one in a row. So a lot of success, but that leads us to this here,
Starting point is 00:21:32 which we're going to play your brand new song now. We are world premiering this song. Tell me a little bit about what kind of man. It's a song that I'd written the first verse and chorus kind of just spitballing one day. I wrote it in about 12 seconds, and it just so happened to be recording on my phone. Just kind of messing around.
Starting point is 00:21:49 And I sang that first verse and chorus, like one take just kind of fell out. and I thought it was cool, but I didn't think it was cool enough to keep trying to ride it. And then Natalie Hemby and Jeremy Spillman were at my house one day, and I said, man, why don't we just ride a second verse for this? And so we, you know, we did. And I'd just been turkey hunting in Kansas, and I'd taken a picture of this little bitty church in the absolute middle of nowhere called the Union Valley Church. And it's actually the picture, the one I took on my phone is the picture of the single art, which is pretty cool. And, you know, so I kind of had a little inspiration there for that second verse.
Starting point is 00:22:20 and they're really good at kind of lean into what I do. And, man, I thought it just turned out great. We're going to play it now. Parker, good to see you, buddy. You know, I love you. And keep killing it, man. Love you too, bro. Thanks, ma'am.
Starting point is 00:22:31 All right, see you, buddy. In 2023, former bachelor star Clayton Eckerd found himself at the center of a paternity scandal. The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. You doctored this particular. tests twice in so-ins, correct? I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case.
Starting point is 00:22:58 I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. Sunlight's the greatest disinfected. They would uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg Alespian and Michael Marantini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trap.
Starting point is 00:23:17 Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally, faces consequences. Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at Maricopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges. This isn't over until justice is served in Arizona. Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:23:44 There's two golden rules that any man should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And Rule 2, never mess with her friends either. We always say that, trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends, Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist.
Starting point is 00:24:12 I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care. So they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves. Listen to the girlfriends.
Starting point is 00:24:31 Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm Ego Wode. My next guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live, and the Big Money Players Network. It's Will Ferrell. Woo, woo, woo, woo. My dad gave me the best advice ever. I went and had lunch with him one day.
Starting point is 00:25:00 And I was like, and Dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up and coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet. Yeah. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit.
Starting point is 00:25:27 If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks Dad on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. A win is a win.

Starting point is 00:27:32 With producer Eddie. Earlier this summer, the Clearwater Threshers is a minor league baseball team, had to retire their bat dog Layla. She'd been doing it for 13 years. So they had to find a replacement. They go out and they find Lucy, a 10-month-old retriever. Well, it's the big debut. It's her first game that she's going to go out and get the bats.
Starting point is 00:27:53 She runs out there, doesn't go to the bat. She goes to the opposing dugout. She messes with that team, then goes to the pitching mound, then poops on the pitching mound. But you know what? The crowd loved it. And the team says, don't worry. Lucy was just nervous. We are not going to fire.
Starting point is 00:28:09 She 100% still has the job. What 10 months seems like a little young day. It's a lot of pressure. That's a lot of puppy, puppy. The good news is Lucy still has their job. And her bowels work pretty good. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:28:23 There you go. You know what a threshold is? No, it's a threshold? Yeah. Doesn't it like thresh around like a shark threshes around? Right? I don't know. Just context clues because clear water.
Starting point is 00:28:36 Threshers. I only think like is it, but thresh and thrash is the same thing. Oh, thrashing around. That's what you're talking about. No, thresh. Oh, I'd threshold. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:28:46 Good job, everybody. That's what it's all about. That was tell me something good. Give me your most fun fact. Amy, you go first. The guy who invented a frisbee. was turned into a frisbee when he died. Oh, his ashes, like, put into a frisbee?
Starting point is 00:29:04 Yeah, he got cremated and turned into a frisbee. I mean, that's, do you want that? His family can, I'm sure he did. Which he invented the frisbee just, like, by happen's chance. Like, him and his wife were tossing back and forth the lid to a popcorn thing, and they were like, huh? And then they were out on the beach tossing something similar, and they were, people came up and like, hey, we'll pay you for that.
Starting point is 00:29:24 He was like, there's a market for this. So he invented the frisbee. And then in 2010, he died. ashes were made into a frisbee. I also like you said happenchance. I've never heard it said like that. And maybe it was a stumble when it should be called happen chance. Happenstance?
Starting point is 00:29:36 No, I know. I like happen chance better, though, even though it's happenstance. Well, I didn't even know I said it that way. Sorry. I thought you improved the word, actually. Nickelback, the band, got their name because when one of the members was a cashier at Starbucks, people would give them $1.50, but the cost of the coffee was $1.45. And he'd always, always, always give them a nickel back.
Starting point is 00:29:56 Really? Yeah. Wow. Nickelback. Because he worked to start. Always. He's like, oh, it's always a nickel back. So they called it.
Starting point is 00:30:02 Nickel back. Lunchbox. Man, Disney World is supposed to be the happiest place on earth. But Mickey was there when the Beatles broke up. They broke up at Disney World. That's where John Lennon signed the document saying we are no longer a band. So that's where the company was dissolved. Yep.
Starting point is 00:30:19 At Disney. Yep. He was at a resort at Disney. And that's when he formally signed the papers to say the Beatles are no more. Lunchbox, that's a good one. He may have been happy that when he did that. Oh, yeah. still could have been the happiest place on earth.
Starting point is 00:30:29 Eddie? Guys, we're in the wrong business. We need to jump on this immediately. An apple tree produces up to 1,500 apples a year. One tree. That's a great fact, but you ruined it by going, we need to change business. We didn't buy apple trees. Okay, but what about the land?
Starting point is 00:30:45 We can do one at my house. One at each of our houses. Oh, we're going to quit this to do one tree. So how many apples a year? 1,500 apples a year, dude. That's a lot of apples. We can make a bank if we sold that. Apple trees where we live, though?
Starting point is 00:30:58 Like, is this, like, climate conducive to apple trees? I don't know. Great question. We led with what we needed to quit our job to do that. That's a lot of apples, though. Yeah. Single tree. $1,500.
Starting point is 00:31:08 These standard-sized trees can take up to eight years to bear fruit. Well, he said we should quit now. He says we should quit now. Morgan. So you inhale 50 potentially harmful bacteria every time you breathe. Whoa. So, but thankfully, our immune systems are working hard all the time. So virtually, it gets destroyed without us ever feeling.
Starting point is 00:31:27 I think so we also do what we need nose hairs. Oh yeah, it filters, the air. Yeah. But I like to. I'd like to ask for some throat hairs then. We do have throw hairs. No, I want big ones like we nose hairs. I want to have to tremble.
Starting point is 00:31:40 Stop all that. Benjamin Harrison, who was the 23rd president, was apparently addicted to cucumbers. When he was in college, his family wrote him a letter begging him to lay off the cucumbers. Dang, you had a problem. I felt that, though. Like watermelon? Like my wife said to have a little talks. Serial for you?
Starting point is 00:31:57 Anything that I really get into. She's like, do we need to have so much cereal? And I'm like, I just had 14 bowls this week. That's not bad. Like, anything over 20, like, that's where it gets troublesome. Iceland's population is so small and secluded that whenever two people there start dating, there's a serious risk. They're related.
Starting point is 00:32:14 There's an app where people put their names in to find out of it before they do it. Oh, yeah. Whoa. Well, that takes the fun out of it. Iceland and where I'm from, Arkansas. We should. Same deal. There's always cousins, man.
Starting point is 00:32:24 You know? Do a quick little rundown family tree. We just got to make sure. We just got to make sure. Fun fact, Friday. All right, play me this voicemail. Morning Studio. I just saw Morgan post about being a finalist for CMAs.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Congrats. But the picture made me think, Eddie had hair in the picture. And I know there's been conversations, Bobby, where you've been upset. If girls on the show have changed their hair right after a photo shoot because you have those pictures for many years, how are you feeling about Eddie having hair in those pictures
Starting point is 00:32:54 and then pretty soon after shaving a bed? I definitely wasn't irritated until right. right in the second. Let me go look. Because there's a long history of certain people that are changing their hair color. Like right before we do like a show picture that we have for like two years and then changing again right after back to how it was. And we're like, we have this show picture and they have pink hair and they never have pink hair in their life. Right, but I did the opposite. I didn't change it before the shoot. I just changed it right after. But you changed it before as well.
Starting point is 00:33:19 No, man. That was my hair. I need to go look at it see if I'm irritated. Because I had my regular hair and now I shaved it. I think she'd have to wear it for two years because is that picture. I think you can Photoshop the picture. That'd probably be easier. Bald? Yeah. We do the opposite of what we did
Starting point is 00:33:31 when you last time. Instead of putting hair on, we'd take hair off. Give me voicemail number two. I have a joke for Amy. Which NFL player is the best artist? Painton Manning. Painton.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Painton Manning? That's a commercial, isn't it? That is a commercial. Oh, Eddie, you look. No, no, you're kind of bald in this picture. Your hair piece is not on. Perfect. No, no, it wasn't my hair piece.
Starting point is 00:33:53 Yeah, it's before you shaved your head. Oh, yeah, yeah. I'm actually, I'm not irritated. I'm back to being normal. Thank you. This is the Eddie we know in love. For a long time. Yeah, but we love the one with hair more, though. But this is Eddie we knew in love for a long time. Give me number three, Ray.
Starting point is 00:34:07 I have a fun fact for you. Did you know that every single odd number contains the letter E? I thought you might find that interesting. I have time to think about that right now, but thank you for that fact. Every single odd number contains the letter E. Okay. One, three. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Five. Okay, I don't have time to think about it right now. Here's Amy's pile of stories. All right. So the other day I told y'all my daughter, as a Spider-Man lunchbox and it's like a thing right now. Well, I saw this whole article about kitty backpacks and how it's taking over with seniors in high school.
Starting point is 00:34:39 And some parents are like, whoa, why does my kid want this tiny backpack with Spider-Man on it or SpongeBob or Dora the Explorer? Well, a developmental psychologist is weighing in on the trend and says that it could be happening because kids that age are having anxiety about the future and the kiddie backs helped them throw back to a time that was familiar and fun, giving them a sense of calm.
Starting point is 00:34:57 What? That's too much. No. I think kids wear it because other kids are wearing it. That's it. Like one cool kid did it, so then another kid did it, so then every kid does it. Oh, I'm here for it. I'm here for this reason behind the trend.
Starting point is 00:35:07 And now I'm like, oh, first I was like, why do you want a Spider-Man lunchbox? And now I'm like, oh, go calm. This therapist just want to be in the news story. Because I think most kids do trends because other kids are doing trends. But okay, what else you got? So a worker at a company that sells washing machines accidentally mislabeled products on the company's website and didn't notice a mistake for 20 minutes. and that may not sound like a long time,
Starting point is 00:35:29 but 40,000 shoppers logged on and took advantage of crazy deals like washing machines for $100. Oh, that'd been awesome. And it ended up costing the company more than $4 million. So they have since asked people to understand it was a mistake
Starting point is 00:35:42 and submit their orders for an immediate refund. If they would please do that. They even made the employee create a 17-minute video apologizing and explaining what happened. Can you just cancel the order? I guess the company.
Starting point is 00:35:53 Oh, like, don't ship it. I wouldn't lose millions of dollars. I would just be the company. was an accident. I do like these casinos do do with slot machines would mess up. Yeah. I'd be like, no, that was a mess up. It wasn't supposed to pay you. I think you're right, but that can't be legal. Yeah, it can't be. Just not send them the order.
Starting point is 00:36:07 Sure, can. You can say it was a mess up. Sorry, here's your refund. There was a mess up in our system. Now, you may have people that are like, well, I'm never buying from you again. They probably weren't buying from the begin with. A friend just texted them. There's a $100 washing machine, and so they bought it. There's no way I would pay that. Yeah. Most expensive work mistake you've made?
Starting point is 00:36:23 I got fine a million bucks. That's bad. Yeah. Labeled a washing machine wrong. studio. That's it. Yeah. All right, what else? So with football being like a weekend, what are we, to the NFL season, about a week? Week two. Oh, we're on week two. I thought it'd be fun to go over country artists and the teams that they are cheering for this season. Let me see if I can name it. Give me the artist. Okay. Kenny Chesney. He's doing college or pro? Because I wouldn't say, pro. This is pro NFL. Chesney's, because his college team is Tennessee. The Titans? Steelers. That's weird. I would have thought the Patriots, though, because he plays so many
Starting point is 00:36:56 But yeah, go ahead. He's from Tennessee. Go ahead. Lany Wilson is also Steelers. Probably the Steelers because that's where Duck played. Yeah, that's right. Her boyfriend? Yeah. Blake Shelton.
Starting point is 00:37:05 Arizona Cardinals, which is odd. That's right. Yeah. George Burge, Chris Young, Co. Wetzel, and Post Malone. Dallas Cowboys. And Eddie. The Dolphins. Damn.
Starting point is 00:37:27 Wow, Bo. I know most of these guys, though, like in real life. That's good, though, and it's quick. Yeah, I wouldn't have guys that Chaz any one. The Steelers? That makes sense. I mean, he screams Steelers. Hopefully, that's right.
Starting point is 00:37:38 All right, thanks. I'm Amy. That's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. Hey, by the way, this weekend, the Tulsa King Season 2. Do you guys watch Tulsa King, season one? It was awesome. I loved it.
Starting point is 00:37:49 And so, it's kind of like, he was like in the mob, but he went to Tulsa to kind of start a new, like a, like a new branch of the mob. And so, but then... Is this Matt Damon? No, it's Sylvester Stallone. Oh, yeah, I remember that. So it's back this Sunday.
Starting point is 00:38:07 Tulsa, it's Tyler Sheridan, too. Or Taylor Sheridan. He did Yellowstone. This dude's got so many shows. He also does the show with the, you know, the superhero with the Bow and Arrow? Yes, Falcon. Is that his name? Is it Falcon, Michael?
Starting point is 00:38:19 What's Taylor Sheridan's show where is it to prison, like he's running the prison? Yeah, yeah. Taylor Sheridan, it's Mayor of Kingstown. Oh, that's so good. And he has 1883. But anyway, this is a Taylor Sheridan show as well. So it's coming out Sunday, season two. But I would even recommend you go watch season one.
Starting point is 00:38:36 We loved it. And so the boss is back, Academy Award winning nominee and Global Superstar, Sylvester Stallone, back for a new season of Tulsa King. From Yellowstone creator, Taylor Sheridan, the hit Paramount Plus original series. Season 2 is now streaming exclusively on Paramount Plus.
Starting point is 00:38:50 The new season of Tulsa King streaming this Sunday, September 15th, only on Paramount Plus. It's a really good show. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good. If you're going through TSA in San Francisco, you may see Barney, who's a TSA agent, but Barney is not a human.
Starting point is 00:39:07 Barney is a dog. Barney is a five-year-old German short-haired pointer who's been working for the TSA since 2022. Barney's job is to sniff out explosives and keep traveler safe. By the way, wherever I am, if they walk through with a dog, I always feel like I'm about to go to jail, like sniffing stuff. I have nothing in my bag that can get. get me in trouble.
Starting point is 00:39:26 But then I think, what if somebody put something in my bag? Or what if your money has cocaine on it? Never thought that once. I never once thought my... I mean, why are you so worried about that? Well, there is. No, I know, but I mean... There's jobs on our money.
Starting point is 00:39:40 It would be every dollar. I know. I just feel like mine might just be fresh off a, you know? No, I don't, but that's interesting. So that's what Barney does. He goes through. People actually get to pet him, which isn't every dog, especially every service dog or working dog
Starting point is 00:39:55 but Barney is one of more than 1,000 dogs now working for the TSA and Travelers voted for Barney as TSA's dog of the year. That's pretty cool although Barney doesn't know what that means. That has no clue. That's no idea. Like it doesn't know what a year is.
Starting point is 00:40:10 But what he does? But he doesn't know what a year is, the concept of a year. Like we made that out too. We just put some said this is a year. So yeah, Barney voted as TSA's cutest canine in 2024. Yeah, I'm always afraid like that and then they're going to open the luggage
Starting point is 00:40:24 and there's going to be drugs I didn't put in there and then I'm going to get put in jail for a long time I know and I'll be like I swear I didn't then listeners on Instagram be in the comments like we always knew it we always knew he's full of crap I don't know you have such thing about cocaine money
Starting point is 00:40:36 over there you watch too many like cocaine documentaries really nervous especially when I was traveling to Haiti a lot because I used to go multiple times a year to see the kids and you take cocaine with you no but I would always get nervous
Starting point is 00:40:50 at the airport they're like because if you end up in Haitian jail. It's not good? I don't want that. All right, that's what it's all about. That was tell me something good. The bride threw the bouquet and two women
Starting point is 00:41:02 reached up to grab it. Then they started fighting for it. Hey, everybody, it doesn't actually mean you're next if you catch the bouquet. Well, that's what they say, though. No, but it's not, it's superstition. It's not real. And I'm sure it was bigger than that.
Starting point is 00:41:15 I'm sure it was one woman felt disrespected. Maybe they had some, but they're going, they're going hard. They're punching each other in the face over this thing. So you see the woman throw the bouquet. And then you see like petals start to fly in the air because there's a group of people around it. Then you see hair, just hair.
Starting point is 00:41:35 Then you can then make out its two women fighting for the bouquet. They're tumbling. But this also runs the whole wedding and reception too because that's the story of the night. It's not the bride and the groom getting married anymore. And their chance of getting married because someone's going to be like, what? They're in sparkly dresses. One's in a blue sparkly. ones in a black sparkly and they are going I mean this is a hardcore fight or they're passionate
Starting point is 00:41:57 about being married I mean exactly one of the two it's a good thing that's what I'm saying this is not real it's not a real thing it's superstition I know a lot of people have caught the bouquet didn't work out for them I've seen people die for it so I mean it's a serious operation with those women I don't mind if you dive for it but if somebody else is there first it's theirs I think who touches it first has the right to it quote if I were a guy at that wedding I would have quietly disappeared yeah Yeah, and then you see the other women like covering their mouth going, oh my God, what's happening? They're rolling over the top of each other.
Starting point is 00:42:28 It is bizarre. It is bizarre. All right, let's go to Amy with the morning corny. The morning corny. What do you call a belt full of watches? What do you call a belt full of watches? A waste of time. A waste of time.
Starting point is 00:42:44 That's pretty good. That was the morning corny. You guys have to this video. We'll put it up on our socials at Bobby Bone Show. These women are rolling over the top of each other fighting for this bouquet. I would have for sure pull my phone out before I split them up, though. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I know they got to split them up.
Starting point is 00:43:04 I don't want to get cut my fingernails. I would have for sure just put my phone out and record it. You're adults. Do you have to split them up? Yeah. That's a good point. Tell you'll die. Like, you could punch somebody and they die.
Starting point is 00:43:13 They keep going until they die. That's the thing. Like, if you see dude, you have to split up a fight. It's a Bobby Bones show interview. In case you do. I didn't know. Miranda, what we normally do is we do an intro before you walk in. We've never done this with somebody where you're already here.
Starting point is 00:43:29 What would you say to people that don't know about you? What's something about you that they should know? That they should know. Yeah, like very basic. Very basic. Like you're so fundamental. Like I'm from Texas. Boom, that's one thing.
Starting point is 00:43:41 She's from Texas? It's very simple. We're going to do three, yeah, I like this. Three fundamental things. She's from Texas. What's the second one? I rescue dogs. She rescue dogs.
Starting point is 00:43:50 rescues dogs. Okay. And the third one. And I like Titos. She likes Titos. And now here's our interview with Miranda Lambert. On the Bobby Bones show now. Miranda Lambert. Good to see you, Miranda. Hello. I was writing about you on Instagram. I know it never got to you.
Starting point is 00:44:06 But I didn't tag you because it wasn't about that. But someone had asked me my favorite people to interview. And I was pretty honest. And there are a lot of my friends I didn't even mention. And it was like compelling interviews. And I had different tears. And I only did like three tiers. And I put you in the tier of would even take a phoner from, meaning we don't relate to a lot of phone call interviews. But if you're like, I can't get there, I'll do it.
Starting point is 00:44:30 I can be on the phone. I always say yes. Like that's how much I love being able to talk with you. Well, that's nice. Thank you. You're welcome. And I also feel like your favorite thing is not doing interviews. Would that be accurate?
Starting point is 00:44:42 Well, I mean, I like talking to you. And I like talking to you. And I don't like talking to everybody. But I would say, but I think that's part of the reason I like talking to you so much, because I feel like when you come in in the best way, like DJAF, we just talk, we do whatever promotion, but you always give me really amazing, honest answers. So that's why you didn't read it, but that's why I said that. And I really love when I get to talk to you.
Starting point is 00:45:04 So thank you for coming in. Well, I'm going to go look at it. It's gone. It's a story. It's a story, so it's dead. Well, okay. Well, you just told me in person. Yes, that's even better than the story.
Starting point is 00:45:12 Exactly. So let's do a little business first. The new album is out today. I got two questions. I'm going to have you say the names of the songs. Okay. There are two names of the songs I'm not going to say. The first one has a D in it.
Starting point is 00:45:23 What's the name of that song? A D in it. It's called Something Randy. Oh, yeah. Can I say that already? Yeah, yeah, for you. Oh, damn it Randy. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:45:31 Yeah. The story. Well, I was, went through some things that I needed to like shed and let go of and that did not serve me. So it's kind of a song about to anybody that you kind of just need of. moment to flip the bird to and then move on. And in my case, his name is Randy. So damn it Randy came about. It's pretty simple. The second one is B on the sauce. You can say it. I love that you pick the two cuss word titles for me to talk about. No, and we're talking about more, but I don't, I haven't cursed in years, not, I used to curse all the time, but I, when I was
Starting point is 00:46:11 doing stand-up and writing books, I didn't want to lean. I would curse all the time. And I would use that as a comedy crutch. So I stopped saying bad words in general. But I love bad words. So that's why I'm not saying it. But I'm, that's why you pick those. I love it when people use bad words. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:24 That's my favorite thing. So bad words. Also sound eight years old. You do. Bad words. Yes. Be on the sauce. What's the official title?
Starting point is 00:46:32 And what does, give me that one? Because I, it's really, I wrote it with Darren Johnson out on the road and it was like, kind of called Just Drunk and I already have a song called Drunk. So I was like,
Starting point is 00:46:46 well, what other title can we use? Because one of my favorite lines, is. A heart is a the sauce, it's going to do what it do. That's what it is. He's pretty awesome, too. He's great.
Starting point is 00:46:56 Like, in like eight different ways. Yeah, I mean, Sharon does it all. He does the art, the business, the production, musicianship. Like, he's, he kills it. One of my favorite things on albums when they come out, I always am very curious about
Starting point is 00:47:08 why track one and with you, there are 14 tracks. I was like first and last track because there's always got to be some discussion about what's first and what's last. There's always a discussion about what goes where in the flow, much like a set list, but I love first and last.
Starting point is 00:47:22 But why number one? Like what's the idea? I just thought it set up the record in a really great way. My friend Aaron Ray Tierra wrote that song, and I just, it was the first song I wanted to cut for the record because I was making my album in Austin, and I was like, this is a very Austin, Texas sounding song. It's about a hot armadillo that's hitchhacking. So, I mean, I just felt like it's fun. I always want humor on every record. and this was the moment for that. I've seen this song like 10 times.
Starting point is 00:47:52 You should have him come in here because he's real fun. You're welcome to come in, Aaron. That's so weird because when you were saying, I was like, I already know the words of this song. He's awesome. That's a really cool version of it. Okay, and then I want to do the last track. And again, is this a cover?
Starting point is 00:48:07 It's a cover. It's the David Allen Coe song from like the 70s. And I just randomly, I thought I knew, like, David Allen's catalog pretty good in that song. I just found randomly. And I was like, I want to cover this. I changed a few lyrics. But I don't know, like my last record, Palamino, was all about travel and sort of stories you find along the way and road trips.
Starting point is 00:48:28 And then this record felt like coming home. But then living on the run feels like setting up for whatever the next adventure is. A lot at home with this record, a lot of feeling. You didn't record in Texas, right? Yeah. All of it? My first time to record in Texas since I was 17, my little independent record. I just felt like I got a new label with Republic and Big Loud.
Starting point is 00:48:47 and I felt like I just needed to go back to the root of where it all started, sound-wise and art-wise and just from my heart. And I have a house in Austin, so I'm there a lot anyway. But it just felt like, let's go back to like what inspired me to start this whole journey in the first place, which was I started 20 years ago. So it was really great. Fun fact, all of us are from Austin. I'm from Arkansas, but we all met in Austin 20 years ago.
Starting point is 00:49:13 Y'all did? This is where our show came together. I didn't know God. Yeah. So Amy Austin High, lunchbox. Anderson High School. Eddie was my TV producer in Austin. That's where I started doing nights
Starting point is 00:49:21 and then met all these goobers. My friends. They weren't even radio people. Yeah, I mean, that's like I made this record at Arlen. So that's crazy. I didn't even realize that. We wrote a song about you 13 years ago. Call she's going to make it one day when we first started.
Starting point is 00:49:37 We don't have the file here. No, we don't. We lost it. But we lost that one. So I don't have to explain any of this record to y'all. You get it. No, yeah, for sure. Because we're all, Austin is like.
Starting point is 00:49:45 I know you're from Arkansas, but I didn't realize that y'all all came together in Austin. 13 years, right? What? Us? Me? In Austin? Is that long?
Starting point is 00:49:54 You live there? Yeah. Oh. We did the show together. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:50:01 Let's make this about us. 13 years. Here's another question I haven't read it. I like when people do a song, they write a song by themselves. Usually there's like one, if any. But usually if that happens, it's like one. and it's like some sort of motivation, inspiration that comes and somebody just grabs the guitar and goes, I need to write this.
Starting point is 00:50:19 Now, this happened. Ray, would you play number seven run? That song is, I wrote that song in 2015, the end of 2015. And it was like, I needed to write it at the time because I needed to get it to say that and put it on paper. And it was just a rough time from me personally. And I just hadn't really found a home for it until this record. like I think going home and sort of being like starting back at the root of it all,
Starting point is 00:50:48 it felt like it landed on this record better than it would have any other record. And I was ready to sing it. Like sometimes you hold things close. I think it's important to do that. Like every song you write's not for the world at all the moments. You know, I think they can find their moments, especially when it's the song that's really personal. I think it's important to save it till it's time to put it out for the world, you know.
Starting point is 00:51:11 Have you had any songs? And if the answer is yes, you do not have to. elaborate on it that you've put out and it was so personal that you never actually told the real story behind it you kind of gave like a secondary story because you were like I really don't tell the real story but I want to get this out because it's for me yeah and I think you know I think the song tells its own story and if you're honest enough in the lyric people can I mean my whole record way to these wings was like super honest and it was like 20 something songs you know and it was like I don't really have any more story to tell it's all here it's all on tape you know that's the
Starting point is 00:51:40 beauty of being a songwriter it's like we're lucky because we can say it in a way that it has a melody behind it and sort of, it's, you know, it's therapy. It's like writing in a diary. And then your therapy becomes other people's therapy. And that's what we hope. I mean. They hear themselves, like they, if they have a similar story, they can resonate, then they, I don't know. Some songs I just picture what the artist must be like or the writer, but then also then I start to insert myself and my picture real and my brain is my story if I relate.
Starting point is 00:52:09 Which is what is the point. I mean, that that's exactly what I would want you to say. you know, for being able to write a song that somebody can go, that's my story too. It's like, that's why we do it, you know, because we don't want to feel alone. We want to know everybody's going through highs and lows, it's just like, we're just people like everybody else, you know.
Starting point is 00:52:26 So I think it's important to have, you know, a lot of different kinds of songs on a record because there's humor and there's sadness and there's nostalgia and there's stories that are all we've done, that hopefully we all have confined something to relate to. in the lyric. I don't want this question to feel like it's prying
Starting point is 00:52:47 so I'm going to give you my example before I ask you your example which by the way Miranda's record today postcards from Texas it is out today so go stream it I have a comedy special
Starting point is 00:52:57 coming out later this year and it's not pure comedy and there's a story I told every single night and I choked up telling it because it was very an very emotional story for me to tell
Starting point is 00:53:05 because a lot of my show isn't just jokes there's a lot of live stuff and like I probably told the story 10 times and like I either choked up or would like have a tear or almost start crying every single time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:19 And it was, I just thought I would numb to it, honestly. I thought that after four, I would just be like, oh, I've told it. It's just rinse and repeat to where I'm not going to be emotional. And that never happened. And I was shocked that I couldn't become numb to the same. And I started to choke up even thinking about it now. Does that happen with any of your music or can you separate yourself from something that you wrote that was so emotional? You know, it has happened, especially like when you're in the thick of something hard, whatever it is.
Starting point is 00:53:47 Like, you know, and that's art, though. That's like, you know, when I was having a really rough personal time, I was on stage and I would just like sometimes break down and be like, y'all, I'm having a rough one today. But like that's just, you know, we're artists and we're humans. And I feel like it's better to show your cards on that than try to like be something you're not every time. and like on house that built me I didn't write that but like somebody cries every night so then I like cry once a weekend and I've been singing that song for so long
Starting point is 00:54:18 but it's like it's amazing what just people being real can do it moves people emotionally and that's important especially with music I think and going back to something Amy said something you guys are talking about I think too even if the song if you wrote it or whomever writes a song
Starting point is 00:54:37 means something I think we all find, even if sometimes we insert our story that's nothing to do with the song, we just feel like it has to do with the song and it's kind of a therapy session because we don't really know what the song's about so we're able to insert a story that is not
Starting point is 00:54:53 even exactly what you wrote it about, but it feels like it is. Even tonally. Find a common denominator and like put yourself because it is. There's got to be a piece that's moving you emotionally. Something in there got you, you know? Even Armadillo like it's silly, but really got
Starting point is 00:55:09 I believed in it, you know. I remember the first time I saw that video of Armadale. I laughed. He was playing on a small stage. I don't know where it was. It wanted like the little Austin, like restaurants. That's so funny. That's the first one.
Starting point is 00:55:23 Top three cities in Texas, go. Top three cities in Texas. Well, Lindale, my hometown. Good, good answer. It's not a city. Fair enough, though. It gets to be number one. It is a, yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:36 Fort Worth. I love the stockyards. It's my favorite. I had my 40th birthday at Billy Bobbs on a Monday when they were closed. Oh, they opened it for you. It wasn't a show for your 40th. You literally had your birthday there. Yeah, they let me have the building because I've been playing there for so long.
Starting point is 00:55:51 And I had Wade, Bowen, and Randy Rogers and Adam had come play. It was super fun. We line dance. It was super fun. It was awesome. Do you pay them for that? They didn't make them pay. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:56:01 That's a birthday present. That's the price of being friends. October 5th, you're doing the music for Muts. which is the show where you're raising money for animals, which is something you've been very consistent at over the years in such a giving way. What's the deal with this show? Where is it?
Starting point is 00:56:20 I don't even have to listen. Oh, nice. It's at a send, and I've got guest stars coming to do songs. And, you know, I haven't done a real fundraiser, just straight out fundraiser show for Mutt Nation in a while because we were doing where we would, you know, every ticket sold for Vegas. we were giving a dollar to my nation.
Starting point is 00:56:38 So I'm excited because it's, is my passion. You know, we talk about it every time. And thank you for always talking about rest of dogs. Well, it's mine too, or I just, I would just do something else. I mean, there's a lot of stuff to talk about. I love it.
Starting point is 00:56:49 It's just, it's awesome. And it's like, you know, friends that give up their time, come sing some songs to save some dogs. Like, it's just so important, you know. And I feel like if I have a platform, I'm always going to try to use it for giving a voice to the voiceless. And, you know, we all find our charities that are really close to us,
Starting point is 00:57:06 but the sweet little animals are for sure my passion. It's always easier to make the ask, two to your friends to do something if it's for charity, instead of just like a show in town. Yeah, and you could trade. We trade off, you know. It's like rappers. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:18 You go on my song, get on yours. Yeah, exactly. Except it's not at all. You get on my charity. You get on my charity. You get on my charity. Miranda's album Postcards from Texas is out today. I'm going to ask you a really vague, dumb question.
Starting point is 00:57:34 Today, what's your favorite song on the record? Today, my favorite song on the record is probably Damon Randy. And what is your favorite song from your catalog that's been a hit right now? Oh, God. Right now. Right now.
Starting point is 00:57:50 Favorite song that's been a hit? Little Red Wagon. That's fun. That's probably like good energy too, right? I look forward to it. It's always at the end of the show and I'm like, oh, that's fun. What's your encore song?
Starting point is 00:58:04 I don't do encores. It's weird. Everybody knows. You just go off the stage and then you're like, wait, I'll clap louder and then I'm coming back. And then everybody's leaving to go their car. I'm just like, we just do our show and then it's over. Okay, but. It's like, bye y'all.
Starting point is 00:58:17 I know you've got to get home. Hypothetically, let's say they wouldn't leave. The lights are already on. That's how I know there's no encore with any band. I don't like oncores. As soon as it's over, turn the lights up so everybody knows. Oh, I'm like, house music immediately. Yes, go.
Starting point is 00:58:28 I'm like. Lights up house music go. My sound guy's Todd. And I'm always like, Todd, roll the bean footage. Yes. We're done. Roll that beautiful bean footage, Todd. Roll the bean footage, Todd.
Starting point is 00:58:37 Yes. Theoretically, let's say, hypothetically, theoretically, all the eleticalys, let's say that lights come on, the house music up, but the crowd will not move. And they're like, we demand one more song. Or we're not feeding our dogs. Like, nobody's going to go and feed their dogs. Okay, well, then I have to go back. You have to go out and do one other song. That's never happened because it's country music.
Starting point is 00:58:56 They're like, well, that was great. We'll love you. See you next time. But I would just go out there and do one by myself, like a hag song or something. Like a cookover. done that before like back in the day like at bars and they're all rowdy and they're like one more I'm like I go just do one by myself let's do Mount Rushmore a favorite artist of all time none of them can be from Texas oh okay well dang it I know I got to catch
Starting point is 00:59:19 off there because I knew where you'd go because obviously we know who you love and me emiloo right she's not hag he's really not from Texas I mean he was in the region but um gosh that's hard we got two I got two Let me see. Well, there's so many that I can't use now. I know. That's why I want to make the difficult one. All right.
Starting point is 00:59:41 How about kicks in Ronnie? That's only one though. And Ronnie's Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas. I know. It's too close. I know. I'll give you that. Can I have Willie?
Starting point is 00:59:52 Can I please just have Willie? Give her Willie. What if I have kicks in Willie? Give her Willie bones. Okay, Waylon. He's from Texas. You probably nine people on this thing. We're going to be chipping away all day long on this, this Mount Rushmore.
Starting point is 01:00:03 It's too many. It's way too many. I can't say George Strait. I could put Dolly. Oh, yeah. Yeah. This is not clay. This is rock. We can't just mold it with our hands. Maranda, you're, oh, let me ask you his final question. You are the best. I mean it sincerely. I love when you come. Thank you. That's really sweet. So, and I know, you know, you don't have to be cool and you are cool. You're at that stage of your career where you're still, you're such a icon where you can just show up and mail it in and everybody's just happy to have you. And I'm glad. Thank you for not doing that. No, I washed my hair today and curl it. And you know how much.
Starting point is 01:00:34 It's a big deal. I like drove into work today with a coffee. Like I had a real job. How many days can you go? No hair wash. Oh, I mean, I try to really stretch it. Yeah. Like, it depends on if I have shows.
Starting point is 01:00:47 You know, if I get all sweaty at shows, I'm like, well, it's over. I made it eight days one time recently, and I was pretty proud. I know. It's like a big moment with women. No, it's a thing. So anyway, all that to say, I got up, got ready and tried to look the part today. The last time I was in here, I was like kind of raggedy. I came off the road in like a hat and braids.
Starting point is 01:01:04 We like that. Yeah. They like all versions. Okay, final, final question. Because I had listed you as one of my favorite people to talk to, other, you take me out of it. Who's your favorite person to interview you other than me? Ooh. You know, I love Kelly Bannon.
Starting point is 01:01:19 Yeah. She is like so fun to talk to. And I feel like we just have girl time and it's on the radio. Yeah. Sometimes and I'm like, oh, maybe we shouldn't have said all that. But, yeah. That's a good answer. Anybody ever asked you who your favorite person to interview them is other than me?
Starting point is 01:01:32 No. Exactly. That's why I'm a good interview. I'm the best. I'm her favorite. That's why I'm her number one. Number one. Miranda, thank you.
Starting point is 01:01:39 Everybody, postcards from Texas. It is out today and it's 14 tracks, but go and listen to it all the way through once and then do your deciding. Yeah, all the way through would be great. We're still romantic about records. Even just once. Even just once. And it's only 42 minutes because I've timed it. It's 42 minutes.
Starting point is 01:01:56 You got 42 minutes. Was that a thing where you go, okay, if we do this, we can put as many tracks, but we don't want it to be 73 minutes? Like, it's a lot. People don't have that kind of commitment. I agree, which is why I would encourage people just to go through it all the way one time and then make your decisions. Yeah. Brandon, thank you. You are A plus the best, and we will see you soon.
Starting point is 01:02:16 Thank you. In 2023, former bachelor star Clayton Eckerd found himself at the center of a paternity scandal. The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. You doctored this particular test twice in so much, correct? I doctored the test once. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case. I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for.

Starting point is 01:03:42 We always say that, trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends... Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care, so they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no, I vowed.

My dad gave me the best advice. ever. I went and had lunch with them one day and I was like, and dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up
Starting point is 01:04:51 through and I know it's a place that come look for up and coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet. Yeah. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay. to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat, just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Yeah. Listen to Thanks Dad on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me. Clipper

Wake up, you wake up in the morning. And then you turn the radio on and the dial just keeps on turn. Keeps on turn. Then you hear. Eddie and me lunchbox, more game two.
Starting point is 01:07:27 School of Steve Ray and Abbott's trying to put you through. Mike D's writing this week's next bit. Now Bobby's on the mic so you know what this is. This is the Bobby Vaughn Stone. When we make a rule on this show, are we living by them? Yes. Sometimes. Right, I know.
Starting point is 01:07:48 Like, sometimes we make them when we don't. So Eddie is saying lunchbox broke the rules again multiple times. Mm-hmm. Go for it. Yeah, guys, the rule is if a guest comes in the studio, you must wear pants. Which is so dumb that we have this rule, you should wear pants anyway. Well, it's just he shows up in, like, athletic. Like, it looks like he just walked off playing pickup basketball.
Starting point is 01:08:05 Yes. Yeah, because I just got up my bike. Right, but it's. But he doesn't get up. up. Right. Well, but we did make a rule, though. Yeah. Because, and the rule was, because he would just wear whatever, and he'd get
Starting point is 01:08:17 up and walk around. He used to bring jeans to change into. He still has them. They live in the other room over there. I guess he just forgot to change it. So twice he was wearing his gym shorts. So do we want to enforce the rule regardless of how I feel about the rule, should the rule be enforced? Because we did make the rule that lunchbox should wear pants. It's just pants.
Starting point is 01:08:33 It's not even jeans. They're like, just wear pants when a a guest comes. Because he'll get up on, sometimes it'll take pictures and he'll get up and it's like, True. You know, and do we... Well, sometimes we sneak the guest in before I have time to go change. Like, it's like... There's no sneaking the guest in.
Starting point is 01:08:48 They're in the green room. You can see them for 10 minutes. But usually we take a break before they come in, but sometimes we're like, I just bring them on in. It's like, well, I didn't have a chance to go put the pants on. We either kill the rule or enforce the rule. I'd say kill it. Of course you do.
Starting point is 01:08:59 Because we did make the rule where pants when guests are come. That is the most elementary rule you should make. Kill the rule or enforce the rule. I like the rule. Amy, kill it. But because I think it helps me. Like, I'll look at the schedule and know and be like, okay, yeah, don't wear my yoga pants. If a guest is here.
Starting point is 01:09:17 Yeah. Okay. The rule's the rule, man. I mean, if it's there, you got to follow it. Then let's vote. And if we vote to enforce it, Eddie, you pick the punishment next week. Oh, my goodness. Because he didn't break the rule.
Starting point is 01:09:28 He did? Where's the proof? What do you mean? Oh, let's ask. Where's the proof? Do you want to ask people when anyone saw it? In a poor case, you can go to witnesses. And witnesses then affect the jury.
Starting point is 01:09:36 There we go. I saw you in shorts. Yeah. before the guest came. You didn't see me when the guest was in here. What guess was it? Miranda and also had pants on. Because Morgan even commented on my pants said, I've never seen
Starting point is 01:09:48 those pants before and I said, Morgan. I don't, I know he did put on pants for some of them, but I don't know if he wasn't wearing him on different. I stopped looking, honestly. Enforce or not, yes. Amy? Yeah, I don't know that we have to do a punishment, but I think that I like the pants. I have a rule if you don't enforce it. Okay, cool.
Starting point is 01:10:07 But we can let go of the rule. We can chill the rule. It doesn't. You're the one that made the rule to begin with. We didn't. You were like, hey guys, let's like... I did say, can we please look a bit professional?
Starting point is 01:10:17 And presentable if guests come in. Because it's not just a guest. It's like a whole group of people. And lunchboxes back there looking like Winnie the Pooh with a t-shirt on and nothing on. Which I think is valid. He did that on the day.
Starting point is 01:10:27 We had Ella Langley and Riley Green and this like massive camp up. There was even, I think even the president of the record label was here. Homeboys walking around. Yeah, walking around as everybody's here. Right. And it's not a big deal.
Starting point is 01:10:38 except we said this is a... Right, but before they came in, I went in another studio and changed it to my fans. No, you didn't. I go, hey, you forgot. And you go, oh, crap, I didn't know. It's too quick. I'm a turn around.
Starting point is 01:10:46 All right, yeah. Oh. So it's valid. Okay, it's a rule. I think we should make it a rule. Because I'm happy to kill the rule, but we can't keep making up rules and then not enforcing them. Can you enforce it, then kill it?
Starting point is 01:10:57 I think we just need to look halfway professional if guests are coming in and we have a calendar invite that goes out. And I lead by example. If somebody's coming in, I also wear clothes. Are you wearing pants today? No.
Starting point is 01:11:13 You have underwear on us? No, no guests are here today. Okay. Because Miranda was recorded, but are there any guests in studio? The whole day today? No. No. Nobody's coming by. So think about it.
Starting point is 01:11:26 Vote. Punishment or no, Amy? I mean, yeah, I have to pay attention to the calendar, so I've been doing it. Eddie? Yeah. With rules come punishments. I mean, yeah, I say yes. There's still no proof.
Starting point is 01:11:38 Morgan? Yeah, punishment. We should be dressing up for guests. At least looking halfway presentable scuba. Oh my God, yeah. I mean, every day we should to a certain degree, but definitely during guests. Well, I vote no lunchbox. I would let you all vote.
Starting point is 01:11:49 But anyway, I did. I lost the vote. So, Eddie, please, next week, give us. But there's no proof. In court, you can go to witnesses and you can go, I bring up this witness. Scoob and Steve. Hey, Scoob, did lunchbox have on really short Jim Shorts while there was a group of executives here? Jim shorts and a T-shirt.
Starting point is 01:12:06 What color was a... No, not too sure. Seeing you're right. Because I wear a hoodie every day. Sorry. You're right. Sorry. I missed an early.
Starting point is 01:12:11 No, no, you lied. I didn't lie. I just busted the witness being inaccurate. Hold on one second. Donald, let me speak here. Red shorts with white stripes. Yeah, that's true. I remember that.
Starting point is 01:12:22 That was it. Regardless, Eddie, let us know next week. Okay. And Lunchbox, you're under oath. Yeah. Did you wear shorts or not? To the work I did, but I put pants on. He's lying.

Starting point is 01:17:30 Well, 2010. That'd be a decade and a half. Throwback. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but I was thinking, like, I threw a mad hatter. I think there probably could have been cartoons and stuff on it but I'm talking about it. It was made into a movie in 2010. Mad Hatter. It's making me a hatter and mad

Starting point is 01:19:58 on the tow truck. Parked illegally, they're towing it, and he's like, hey, get my car off of there. Guys like, man, you're parked illegally. So what's the guy to do? jumps in the tow truck and drives off with his car in the tow truck. Oh, that's brave. Yeah. I've never seen anyone towing my car. I've had it towed a couple times.
Starting point is 01:20:16 Both times, I thought I'd been stolen, by the way. I walked out, I was like him, I stole my car. And then they'd take a picture. One time I was barely on the line. I know they were just hunting the apartment complex. But I think if I saw somebody putting it on, I don't know what I would do. I think I would go and be like, hey, can I offer you some money to not tow my car? But I definitely wouldn't try to fight them.
Starting point is 01:20:35 I see people trying to fight tow truck drivers. Yeah. Like those dudes have got to be ready to go at any point because someone can be coming down at them at any time. That's why they leave the tow truck running just in case of that. But you do, if you come out and your car is on it, you can pay them money to get it. down. Happened to me in Austin. I was, you know, there's a UT cheerleader and I was at her apartment. Oh my gosh. Okay. Stop. We already don't believe the story. And I came out and she was like, you can park anywhere at summer. Don't worry about it. So I parked and, you know, I was leaving.
Starting point is 01:21:02 It was like 11 o'clock at night and I come down. Cars on the tow truck. Did you pay the guy? I paid the guy. What it cost then? It was like $125. So what happens here? Because I saw the video of the tow truck being driven off by the guy who stole it. and he also drove his truck that was being towed and smashed into another car as he was driving off. Yeah. So he gets all sorts of charges. Stealing the tow truck and then, you know, reckless driving.
Starting point is 01:21:26 And, I mean... Yeah, he just probably could have got the truck out of the impanel. Like $200. Yeah. But it's all... It never drives the same once they tow it. I feel like it kind of... Maybe it's just in my head.
Starting point is 01:21:36 Yeah, it's the... Like the axle. Like the... Alignment. Alignment. The alignment. Because they just yank it. Yeah, man. They don't care.
Starting point is 01:21:41 All right. I'm Lunchbox. That's your Bonehead Story of the day. This woman was walking her dog and alligator jumped up bitter. Oh. Oh. Well, shout out Florida, man. Yeah, a lot of alligators.

Starting point is 01:22:34 It's a thick alligator. But my question is, so in Florida, you just can't even go near water. It sounds like if anything's wet, stay away from it. That's the rule. You can't take your kids fishing. You can't go feed the ducks.
Starting point is 01:22:44 I mean, because... I mean, you probably can, but it's watch out for alligators. The rule is if you see water, assume there's an alligator in it. That's the rule? How do you know the rule? Did you just make that rule up? No, people say it all the time. I go to Florida all the time, man. And they say, yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:56 Because you know me? Every time I go to Florida, I'm like, you guys see gators around here? No, you do. I ask everyone. Shout out. She lived. Her dog lived. But she's 83 and punch the alligator right in the face.
