Hey, I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans.
Starting point is 00:00:48 I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance. And then there's your body having its own program. Listen to a slight change of plans on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On a recent episode of the podcast, Money and Wealth with John Ho Bryant, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money. What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to try to.
Starting point is 00:01:29 to pass on wealth to the people when they're no longer here. We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build real wealth, starting with the mindset shifts. Too many of us were never, ever taught. If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money, this conversation is for you to hear more. Listen to Money and Wealth with John Hope Bryant
Starting point is 00:01:49 from the Black Effect Network on the I'd Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Let's go. Come on, Bobby. Transmitting. Hey, welcome to Friday show. Morning studio. Morning.
Starting point is 00:02:11 Thomas Redden's studio coming up in just a little bit. But let's do our get-to-know. What's your favorite plan for the weekend? Amy? Oh, it's just organizing my house and getting my kids back. Oh, and then we're finally celebrating my daughter's serve the homeless for her birthday. I think you should probably. elaborate a bit on getting your kids back.
Starting point is 00:02:35 They just throw that out there and put it in the middle and move on. So I have 50-50 custody, so Friday to Friday, they're with their dad, and then the next Friday to Friday they're with me. Can they ever come over to your house during the Friday to Friday that they don't have you? They stopped by to get things, but like come over and stay. Like your daughter can drive. Can you ever just like come over and watch TV and hang out? She doesn't, but she'll come by and get things, but she doesn't stay.
Starting point is 00:02:59 Is that a rule? She can't come and like chill? I don't know that we've really established. I was just like, okay, I think she wants to go back to where all, where she's supposed to be. I don't know. And so what if you found out, though, during your time with her, she was going to her dad's house to chill? Yeah, I think that that would, I would be like, hey, what's up? What do we need to do here?
Starting point is 00:03:19 Just some more chill in here. Chill here, yeah. I mean, I'm sure some kids feel that way, and she's 17, so we'd probably give her some of that control, but then also we kind of make plans based on them not being there. Yeah. Well, that's good. Yeah. Yeah, good luck. I don't want to open that whole can.
Starting point is 00:03:35 It's not a can. I mean, I feel like a lot of people are in that situation. And I will say if you are, you know, looking into how you're going to do this, Friday to Friday is amazing. Eddie, favorite plan for the weekend? I got my curing for adult beverages in. You know, we talked about that. It's called the Bartesian. And it's like it's got capsules in there.
Starting point is 00:03:52 And you put it in there. Put it in. It's got vodka, tequila, whatever. It came in yesterday. And so I'm excited to try it. And by try it, I mean, make me some cocktails. Are you going to try like one of each? Is it one of those?
Starting point is 00:04:02 Yeah. I came with a sampler of like six different drinks. But there's no alcohol in the sampler. No. You have to get the alcohol and combine it. Correct. Well, it's got little compartments. One for vodka, one for tequila, one for rum, one for whiskey.
Starting point is 00:04:14 And then you just hit a button, dude, and it makes it. I'm going to have a Manhattan, a whiskey sour, a margarita. You name it. Aren't there. Aren't there. What do you mean? Like liquor and snake. Don't go skating.
Starting point is 00:04:24 No, no. That's just beer. All the liquors. Yeah. Beer before liquor. Never sicker. See? Liquor before beer, no fear.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Correct. Don't fit. Must quit. That's OJ. That's fine. Lushbox? Oh, man, maybe my wife and I go to dinner. The in-laws are in town, so maybe they can watch the kids and we can go to dinner.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Have no plans. And I'm sure there's probably a birthday party, so I'll have to go to a birthday party at some point. They're always birthday parties? Always birthday parties. Every weekend. Birthday party. But at least the birthday parties, they have alcohol. They have the Bartesian.
Starting point is 00:04:54 They do not have the Bartesian, but they got beer, wine, cocktails. I mean. Eller, our dog, comes home tomorrow. We get her back. You want to elaborate on that? Yeah. What's up with that? We have been gone a lot.
Starting point is 00:05:09 And so instead of, she would just be at the house and she can't really run in the backyard because Eddie now are building a pickleball court. And so since we were gone and she can't run, there was this farm that does like training at the same time. So she went there for 11 days. And so we finally get her back tomorrow. They come by and then like walk us through like for 30 minutes, what she's learned. She's already pretty good. we just kind of wanted her to be able to run because she was getting like depressed not
Starting point is 00:05:33 like the asphalt guys you know like the asphalt I didn't know I do asphalt right we don't know that we had to hire asphalt guys and while they're out there the whole time elder can't go out there the asphalt guys out there but we're going to learn how to do asphalt for next time yes for our next for you from YouTube though we've learned the whole the whole thing yeah so Ella was at camp for 11 days so what's you're going to come back knowing like how to make a tent I do nuts no nuts fire I do it let's open up the mayor
Starting point is 00:06:00 Mailbag. You send an email and we read it on the air. It's something we call Bobby Mailbag. Yeah. Hello, Bobby Bones. My girlfriend of about six months works at a car dealership where her former boyfriend is her manager. It bothers me that she's with her ex every day. I do pretty well.
Starting point is 00:06:23 We've talked about her moving in with me. She only works part-time. It doesn't make that much money. So I guess I could support her until she finds something else. would it be out of line for me to ask her to quit her job sign been the boyfriend yeah ben it would be out of line especially if she likes the job yeah especially if there's no reason for you to think that there's anything going on with her and her ex it makes you seem wildly insecure and do you know what's unattractive about a man and they're wildly insecure i'm never attracted to men who are
Starting point is 00:06:51 wildly insecure ever never never not once i've ever been attracted to a man who's wildly insecure good for you so i would imagine I imagine that they were together when he was her manager and since they've broken up and she still is in that job. Oh, you don't know that though. I know, but I don't, if it's the opposite, if all of a sudden she applies for a job to work with her ex-boyfriend, that's problematic. Yeah. But what if it's her dream job? No, no, there's a lot of those.
Starting point is 00:07:18 That probably didn't happen where her ex is the boss and she goes to apply to work for him. I'm going to bet my bottom dollar that didn't happen. But it definitely could happen where they were together because a lot of people date when they're working together. So if that's the case There are exes for a reason Unless she gives you a reason To wonder anything You just shake the insecurity man
Starting point is 00:07:39 And you can't be like Yeah it's okay I'll support you while you figure something else out I don't like that either It's like okay no I have a job I can support myself let me do my thing And she'll be like stop being so freaking insecure loser I'll go back to my ex I want it to anyway You're saying this because they're dating right
Starting point is 00:07:55 Like if they're married no right Also if they get married just to put her job Like if they're married and my... That's her ex? Yeah. My wife's not working with her ex. Your wife wouldn't go get a job working for her ex, but if she had always been working that, then you met her, so you get married, you make her quit?
Starting point is 00:08:10 Yep. But you were together while they were together? No, man, I don't like it. Why would you want your wife to be hanging out with her ex every day? Why would you want your girlfriend to be hanging out with her ex? Exactly. Like you don't want them to, but who cares? Eddie, I'm not attracted you anymore.
Starting point is 00:08:24 You are wildly insecure. There are a lot of jobs out there, guys. guys. But if she likes her job and she's always done it since you've known her, you're still going to make her quit. Okay. Okay. Watch them fall in love again.
Starting point is 00:08:35 Let's say you love. That's because you're insecure. You love your job and what if your wife, you know, it was like, hey. You and I, you and I were dating. Okay. Say we dated, but we broke up. But you, you, you would, if your wife asked you to quit, you would? My wife?
Starting point is 00:08:47 Yeah. I'd have to. If my wife asked me, I'd have to. That's a 1950s type stuff there. But if my wife asked me to quit my job because. Why don't she ask you to quit? No, no, that's not the question. No, no, hold on.
Starting point is 00:08:58 That was a question. But she'd let you... By the way, they didn't date everybody. No, no, no. Hyped that out. We're making this up. But you used to date Amy and she was still with you and you guys were fine. But then she marries you, but now you got to break up?
Starting point is 00:09:08 That's a dumbst thing ever heard. Yeah, you're right. I don't think she would do that. That's unrealistic. But you would. If I started this job and it was my dream job, but my ex-girlfriend Amy works here, she'd be like, no, no, you're not doing that job. Gosh, your dream job, that's, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:20 I feel like this is, there'd be some gray area here. That's tough. You really want your stuff. Bro, let it go. Let it go. Trust her. Unless she gives you a reason not to trust her. Trust her.
Starting point is 00:09:30 Otherwise, you're wildly insecure and I'm not attracted to you. Me either. There you go. Thank you. Close it up. We got your email and we read it on the air. Now it's about to close Bobby's mail bag. Time for the fun facts.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Let's go. Fun fact Friday. I'm going to start you off. I got a whole list. In his second presidential election, both parties picked George Washington as their nominee. He won. with 100% of the vote.
Starting point is 00:09:58 Wow, that'll never happen again. He's from April 30th to March 4th, 1789 to 1797, which they offered him, hey, you want to be the king? He's like, no, no, no, no, no, no. Why do you think we left there? Wow. Because me, I'd have been like, you know, that's a good point. I'll be the king until I die, but then you go to a democracy.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Fun fact. Amy, go ahead. It would take 19 minutes to fall to the center of the earth. 19 minutes of straight falling? Yeah. That's how big the earth is? So they think. how deep the earth is. Holy crap. When do you come out the other side? So does that mean
Starting point is 00:10:31 that if you keep going in 38 minutes you come out in like China? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Because that's like 19 to the middle and then the other 19, you're like, hello. Hey, guys. Whoa. Man, that falling. Imagine it's falling in space.
Starting point is 00:10:47 That's not falling. You wouldn't be in space. It's low in space. I'm just saying like people fall. Oh. In movies. Yeah, that's not good. I don't know about that in real life. Eddie? So the first ATM. was invented, what, like, a little over 50 years ago by a guy named John Shepard Barron.
Starting point is 00:11:02 And what he did was he found chocolate bar dispensers. So it's the same size as a dollar bill. And instead of chocolate bars, he would put dollars in there. And like, that's going to be an ATM machine. And his wife said, she couldn't remember six digits because it was going to first be a six digit code. She's like, no, let's just do four. That's too hard to remember. So that's why they're four digits.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Dang, I didn't know that. Never heard that before. Imagine falling off a building, though. You're still thinking about a long time. Even for like seven, eight, because I went skydiving. It was terrible. But I knew a parachute. I mean, just, ah, 19 minutes of falling.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Yeah, it's not good. And also imagine the first person is trying to get a Hershey bar, and all of a sudden, they got a $10 bill. Look at that. It's money. It's magic. All right, lunchbox. I like big butts and I can't out lie. You rather brothers can't deny.
Starting point is 00:11:44 When a girl with a itty bitty waist and a big one in your face, you get, that's not how it goes. Smarter. Okay. That's right. Women with bigger butts are smarter than women with small butts. A study by the University of Pittsburgh and the University of California found women with bigger butts are smarter because they store omega three fatty acids, which promotes brain growth. They store? Fatty acids in there.
Starting point is 00:12:10 In their butts. Fatty. Oh, wow, wow, wow, wow. Okay. Yeah, careful how you say that. No, I'm saying. Fatty acids in their, that's just a little play. But that promotes brain growth, which makes the women with big butts smarter.
Starting point is 00:12:23 Yeah. That's interesting. How about guys with, never mind. Okay. Human beings have explored less than 5% of the ocean, ocean floor, less than 5%. 95% of the ocean floor completely, completely unexplored. That's crazy. 95%.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Just want to throw that out there. It's a great big yonder. We have no idea what's going on. All right, Morgan, go ahead. All right, so when the crew of Apollo 10 went around the far side of the moon in 1969, they were unable to receive any type of signal from Earth. Well, the crew reported hearing a strange whistling tune that they described as outer space type music. I have a clip.
Starting point is 00:12:59 It sounds outer spacey, didn't it? Do you hear that? That whistling sound? That's clear than my cell phone calls. You're telling me that was 1960, the moon. That was them up there. That was what they got. That is kind of weird.
Starting point is 00:13:16 I'm just telling you, I get on calls right now that aren't that clear. And this guy's doing ASMR out there. On the other side of the moon. Yeah. Well, you think it's done in the studio? He's full pink Floyd up there, dark side of the moon, hearing sounds. Play it again, right, would you? So that is...
Starting point is 00:13:30 That's the whistle he's talking about? Yeah, if you keep listening, there's more, though. You used to keep it sounds outer spacey, didn't it? Do you hear that? That whistling sound? It's so loud. You guys, hey, move over, so we can get that shot. Stop.
Starting point is 00:13:52 The sound, the audio dig guys. I'm saying what I'm running out of tape over here. Yeah, I guess. We should be more wary of Bambi than of jaws because deer are much more deadly than sharks are as far as deaths go. How? There are two deaths in the U.S. by shawls. shark attack. There were,
Starting point is 00:14:09 2023, only two deaths. Deer, 440. Because the car wrecks or what? You're running into them? Anything. Car wrecks? Car wrecks or... No, you're not like wrestling with a deer. Never know. You're not the deer attack. Iron.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Eat you. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. We got to love it when a first responder just goes like above and above and above and beyond because that's what Anthony Polvino did. He's a firefighter in Buffalo, New York.
Starting point is 00:14:39 and these two teenagers saw this puppy. They got hit by a car. And they brought it to the firehouse because that was the nearest place that they were like, oh, we can get this puppy some help. The dog ended up losing its leg, had all these injuries,
Starting point is 00:14:50 but the puppy recovered. Well, Anthony decided to adopt a puppy because they don't know where this dog came from, didn't have a home. And now she's like, the puppy's like a part of the firehouse. You know, shows up the world. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:03 He brings her in. Wait, wait, so does he take the dog in or does it live at the firehouse? Yeah, no, he adopted the puppy full-blown but brings it to work full-blown, man, the whole thing Anthony's like, I'm the dad now Yeah, yeah, yeah, I am your old father-dog
Starting point is 00:15:16 Is it a Dalmatian? That would be legit That'd be so cool I bet you kids don't even get that reference anymore What do you mean? I thought that was just always 101 Dalmatians Oh no A firefighter dog Dalmatian?
Starting point is 00:15:27 I just thought like Dalmatians were just Firefighter dogs In general Interesting Yeah, I guess Because like you ever see a dog at a fire station It's gonna be a Dalmatian Except maybe this one
Starting point is 00:15:38 Not full-blown sometimes have. Do we still feel like Dalmatians are firefighter dogs? I feel like in my mind they are. Really? But that's because how I grew up seeing it, I guess. I don't think I associate that anymore. Really?
Starting point is 00:15:52 Yeah, but I'm a kid, you know. I don't ever see a Dalmatian, though. They're so rare. Oh, in general? Yeah. I know, but when you do, you're like, dang, that's crazy. All right, good story. That's what it's all about.
Starting point is 00:16:02 That was Tell Me Something Good. I feel like it was a little bit unbelievable until I really start making money. It's Financial Literacy Month And the podcast Eating While Broke Is Bringing Real Conversations about money, Growth, and Building Your Future. This month, hear from top streamer Zoe Spencer and venture capitalist
Starting point is 00:16:24 Lakeisha Landrum-Pierre As they share their journeys From starting out to leveling up If I'm outside with my parents And they're seeing all these people come up to me For pictures, it's like, what? Today now, obviously, it's like 100% They believe everything
Starting point is 00:16:38 But at first, it was just like, you gotta go get a real job. There's an economic component to communities thriving. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail. And what I mean by fail is they don't have money to pay for food. They cannot feed their kids. They do not have homes. Communities don't work unless there's money flowing through them.
Starting point is 00:16:57 Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance. And then there's your body having its own program. I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods of turbulence and transformation. There is one finding that is consistent, and that is that our resilience rests on our relationships.
Starting point is 00:17:41 I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. When you listen to podcasts about AI and tech and the future of humanity, the hosts always act like they know what they're talking about and they are experts at everything. Here, the Nick Dick and Poll Show, we're not afraid to make mistakes. What Coogler did that I think was so unique. He's the writer-director. Who do you think he is?
Starting point is 00:18:21 I don't know. You mean the president? You think Canada has a president. You think China has a president. Those law crusade. God, I love that thing. I use it all the time. I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night.
Starting point is 00:18:38 It's like the old Polish saying, not my monkeys, not my circus. It was a good one. I like that saying. It is an actual Polish saying. Yeah. It is an actual point. Better version of Play Stupid Games,
Starting point is 00:18:49 win stupid prizes. Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time. I actually, I thought it was. I got that wrong.
Starting point is 00:18:55 Listen to the Nick Dick and Poll show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's time for the easiest trivia game ever. It's easy trivia. Amy's got the T. She is the champion.

Starting point is 00:22:25 I want to go see it. Washington, Thomas Jefferson. What are you stolen? Abraham Lincoln. Is this a trick question? What other is on Mount Rushmore? Oh, boo. Because I feel like I want it to be not.
Starting point is 00:22:40 Answer? I know. I think it's a trick question, so I would go, Benjamin Franklin. Not a president? I know. You've been bow. Dang. Guys, Roosevelt? Roseville?
Starting point is 00:22:49 Which one? Theodore. Theo. Theo. Theo. What did you just yell Theo? Well, this is going to be. T-Dong.

Starting point is 00:26:13 No, because I have four kids. I'm a dad. So Daddy's back. Yeah, yeah. Eddie, congratulations. Eddie is our winner and easy trivia. All right, let's go to this voicemail right here. Good morning, Bobby Bones.
Starting point is 00:26:25 We out here, next year, our second date with McKenzie. She just dropped the ice cream in my chair. I feel like you'd be kind of funny if we shamed her on a nationwide radio show. So thank y'all. No, good day. Bye. That's like that day's going pretty good. That was a date.
Starting point is 00:26:40 Yeah, that's awesome. Second date. That's really cool. ball or move by that guy. It seems like that date's going pretty good. Here is Chris from Pittsburgh. I just wanted to say that I finished my first ever marathon. You guys were a big
Starting point is 00:26:52 part of it. I listened to you guys every time I ran and I listened to the show the entire time I was running the marathon. Thanks for what you do. Love the show. I appreciate that. When I'm a runner music doesn't quite do it nor do my
Starting point is 00:27:09 legs or brain or heart or body because I hate it. Nothing doesn't. nothing does it. I can get on the treadmill and podcast a little bit, but then I end up remembering that I'm running and then I hate it. I hate running. I'll walk for an hour because I can read while I walk. Can't read while I run. If I can read while I run, I'll just say, I don't like to read anymore. I'd probably quit that too. But yeah, good luck. Or good job, dude. That's a marathon's crazy. Amy did a marathon once. I did once. She won. And that's about it. The whole thing? Yeah. Wow, Amy. She beat the guy from Africa and the Kenyan.
Starting point is 00:27:42 I remember that guy. Actually, I was 3,500 potato potatoes, what I say. Here's Amy's pile of stories. I have a collector's item for you to buy, Bobby. I'm ready to collect it. Sylvester Stallone is selling off 11 of his watches.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Yeah, no, I saw this. There's no way. It's like the most expensive, one of the most expensive watches ever. Yeah, so he has a Petek Philippe Grandmaster Chime, and apparently it's never been touched, and it could sell for more than $5 million. You can't wear that.
Starting point is 00:28:15 And he has not. It's like art to him. He bought it for 2.5 so he's doubling. I mean, I'm like, wait, these are the kind of investments we need to get in. Yeah, except for you have to invest $2.5 million. Other than that part, if you can invest, as Ray would say, 2.500 or $2.5,000. But that's crazy. And you get a watch and you can't wear the watch.
Starting point is 00:28:32 Why would you buy a watch if you can't wear? Same reason you buy a piece of art, I guess. But I don't buy pieces of art. Or you buy. You don't wear art. You can hang it. So you have to just treat it like art. This particular one, it's the most common.
Starting point is 00:28:43 complicated wrist watch ever made. And I've been watching some YouTube videos on watches and some of these companies and how they make. I mean, it is so intricate and it takes them like forever. There's only so many they can make. And did you know Rolex is a nonprofit. I did. I did know that. From this show.
Starting point is 00:28:59 I learned that on this show too. Yeah. Yeah, no, it's a crazy watch. And I guess the real reason you get it is because you can. Yeah. Why not? Something he collects. And he said, hey, I wasn't going to covet and keep it forever.
Starting point is 00:29:10 That's not my personality. I like to share things. No, actually, I said, I wasn't going to cover it and keep it forever. I would share things. You sell it for Donald, which is crazy. Mother's Day is on Sunday, so do not forget. Like, this is your warning. And if you're last minute, like, thinking of things to go do,
Starting point is 00:29:26 there's a lot of stuff you can do that doesn't cost any money that will be really special for mom. Like, putting together like a gratitude jar of all the things you're thankful for. Hey, mom, gratitude. It's me, Sylvester. Exactly, guys. It's really easy. You just get, like, a cute jar. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:29:40 I suck an impression. Cut up a bunch of. pieces of paper and have your kids write stuff down and you write stuff down and put it in the jar. And she can just, if she's having a bad day, she gets to go into the jar and see what her kids are thankful for. That wouldn't be good for me to get that jar. I'd look at them all the first day. It's like candy in the house or chips.
Starting point is 00:29:58 I have no moderation. I'd be like, I want to read everything good about me. One year, one of my friends did that for me for my birthday. And she's a therapist. So it's kind of fitting that she came up with this idea. But she reached out to even some of my friends that she didn't know and had them write it down or she wrote it down for. them whatever they said and then it is i do dip into the jar from time to time but i've read them all yet no i read them all i've read them all at this point now but i didn't read them all that night yeah my
Starting point is 00:30:20 wife gave me a sticky pad when we like first got engaged of little notes read them all in like 10 minutes and then wait explain this because this sounds cute there's a sticky pad of notes and she wrote a little note on each of them like something she liked about me or loved about me and i just she's like same kind of deal if you're having a bad day do this this is like three years ago and i guess i've I'm a real bad day to run them all in like 10 minutes. Okay. I don't think my day was that bad. I was just interested in what she had to say.
Starting point is 00:30:44 All right, what else? Luke Bryan was on Jimmy Kimmel, and he talked to him about why he falls a lot. I mean, I'm kind of, I'm a, I'm a six-two, you know. I'm up there trying to do Michael Jackson moves in too big of a frame. And when you add water to a stage and slick cowboy boots, you go down hard. It's a bad. Yeah, Luke's a big old boy.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Oh, yeah. tall. Pretty athletic though, but yeah, the cowboy boots will get you every time. Planet of the Apes, that new kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is out. I guess today movie Mike's over here. That thing looks awesome. I love the Planet of the Aves movies. Yeah, I'm going tonight. One of the most underrated franchises. Is it underrated? Yeah. Because I really like it. I guess I don't look at the rates. I just, I've always liked all the Planet of the Apes movies. So they're calling it the best film
Starting point is 00:31:31 from the Planet of the Apes. It's Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes in theaters now. I saw The Rotten Tomatoes was already about 90%. That's really good. Yeah. And so check it out. Go watching the theater. Because you're a big theater nerd. I love it.
Starting point is 00:31:44 This is probably one of those where you think that you have to watch in the theater to get to full effects. Yeah, the big action. Like that's, you have to see it on the big screen. If you guys watch any of the Planet of the Apes? Oh, man. Is that what I'm underrated a franchise. They're so good. Even the first, I mean, the first one.
Starting point is 00:31:59 Doesn't the Ape? And Walberg's in some of them? That was a different iteration. Oh, that one was awesome, too. The old ones. No, Charlton Heston? That's really. That's really.
Starting point is 00:32:07 That's in all the versions. So, yeah, Planet of the Apes, they're all awesome. This one's like a dictator that he's running the planet. Yeah, there's a good monkey, bad monkey. I love good and bad monkeys. Fighting against each other trying to live with humans. And they match their lips. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:32:20 Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. It'd be awesome. Only in theaters. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Stay at home, it's not been good. Nine-year-old Kelvin Elvis Jr. is walking with his dad.
Starting point is 00:32:37 He's like, all right, let's go to the coffee shop. He got his dollar in the pocket that he got for making good grades. And he sees a homeless dude sitting on the sidewalk in his PJs. And he walks up to homeless dude. He's like, here, would you like my dollar so you can get something to eat? Turns out the dude wasn't homeless. He's a multi-millionaire. He was evacuated from his condo because there was a fire alarm.
Starting point is 00:32:59 So he was just sitting there having a cup of coffee waiting for him to be able to go back in the building. It makes something to say PJs because I thought, what a homeless guy has a different outfit to put on for bed? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And so he sits down with the nine-year-old. This guy Matt sits down with the nine-year-old and they talk. And he's like, hey, man, I own a sporting good store. I'm going to give you a shopping spree. Dang.
Starting point is 00:33:19 So the nine-year-old got to go on a shopping spree. His dollar turned into a shopping spree. That's cool. That's pretty cool. Who is the millionaire, billionaire? His name is Matt Busbis. He's the owner of a sporting good store in Baton Rouge. That's cool. That's a cool story because the kid was given a dollar to somebody who needed it,
Starting point is 00:33:37 that the dude was in literal PJs. Like, maybe throw some shorts on. I don't know. No, no, it was the fire alarm went off. He had to get out. Fire, fire, fire, fire. But that parent had to be proud. Would your kids have done that?
Starting point is 00:33:48 Probably not. Last dollar? Nah. Maybe, because my, I think my kids, they think about it. I think they have good hearts, but I also think, Mom will see me giving this dollar, and it's going to earn me five. Or a shopping spree. Or a shopping spree.
Starting point is 00:34:02 Good story. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. I feel like it was a little bit unbelievable. until I really start making money. It's Financial Literacy Month, and the podcast, Eating While Broke, is bringing real conversations about money,
Starting point is 00:34:20 growth, and building your future. This month, hear from top streamer, Zoe Spencer, and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landrum Pierre, as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up. If I'm outside with my parents and they're seeing all these people come up to me for pictures, it's like, what? Today now, obviously, it's like 100%.
Starting point is 00:34:39 They believe everything, But at first it was just like, you got to go get a real job. There's an economic component to communities thriving. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail. And what I mean by fell is they don't have money to pay for food. They cannot feed their kids. They do not have homes. Communities don't work unless there's money flowing through them.
Starting point is 00:34:59 Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. You can have opinions. have like a strong stance. And then there's your body having its own program. I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods of
Starting point is 00:35:34 turbulence and transformation. There is one finding that is consistent, and that is that our resists. resilience rests on our relationships. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change.
Starting point is 00:36:17 What Coogler did that I think was so unique. He's the writer-director. Who do you think he is? I don't know. You mean, like, the president? You think Canada has a president. You think China has a president. Those law crusade.
Starting point is 00:36:33 God, I love that thing. I use it all the time. I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night. It's like the old Polish saying, not my monkeys, not my circus. It was a good one. It is an actual Polish saying. It is an actual Polish saying. Better version of Play Stupid Games, win stupid prizes.
Starting point is 00:36:52 Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time. I actually thought it was. I got that wrong. Listen to the Nick Dick and Paul show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. There's a voicemail from Sarah and Georgia. I just wanted to give a huge shout out to my incredible sister, Stephanie. So there's a pediatric ICU nurse at Duke Hospital.
Starting point is 00:37:13 Nurses Week this week, I couldn't think of a better time to recognize her dedication and hard work. She's not only an amazing nurse, but also a rock bar mom of two kids, the best wife, mom, and friend anyone could ask for. She goes above and beyond every day to care for her patients and support her family and friends. I know she's a huge fan of the show, and I'd be thrilled if you could give her a shout-out during Nurses Week to show her some love and appreciation for all that she does. You got it. Stephanie. Dude, a hospital, ICU. You're an angel among us. most you nurses are.
Starting point is 00:37:43 Some of them I feel like don't care enough where the needle goes. Like they just kind of, they just go, you know what? This is kind of where the vessel is. But like 99% of you. I'm glad that you exist because we need you. You're very valuable. We're very thankful for you. All right, here's another voicemail.
Starting point is 00:37:56 Hey guys, love this show. Got some good news with lunchbox. Was going by, bought some scratches. I usually get number 13 slot, but they were out. So I got lunches soccer number. I said, what will lunchbox do? Because I just heard the show. So I got a couple of $2 scratches and lunchbox is soccer number.
Starting point is 00:38:11 A couple of scratches later. $3,000. Thanks, lunchbox. Appreciate it. Yeah. Thanks, guys. Love your show. They hit him with that ray at the end.
Starting point is 00:38:20 Oh, I'm glad I can't help. Rubbed it in. $3,000 on a $2.00 on a scratcher. He's never won over $200. He plays every day. Or at least enough at the end of the week, account for every day. That's wild. Thanks for the call.
Starting point is 00:38:32 How does that make you feel? I seem to help a lot of people win money, but never myself. It's kind of annoying. It's a numbers game, though. It's like that lady that never played the lottery and she won like a million dollars on the... Man, that's, that'd be crazy. All right, let's go to Amy. Get in the morning corny.
Starting point is 00:38:51 The morning corny. Why was beef stew not used as a computer password? We're reaching here. Why was beef stew not used as a computer password? Because it was not strong enough. It was not strong enough, strong enough? Strong enough. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:10 I don't know how strong enough is. Beef stew. That was the morning corny. Like I know the name. I know it's a suit, but do you guys know what the difference is? Beef stew. Is it literally just beef stew, but like German? Think.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Is it like a brand? Like a beef with a noodle. No, I don't think Strzogonov's a brand. I think it's a maybe a kind of noodle. Like a, it's a stew. So it's pronounced. She's coming into beef stew. We're just going to let it have it.
Starting point is 00:39:31 She's committing to beef stew. It's a stroganoff sauces, a sour cream gravy made with beef broth that's thickened with flour. Mm. Yeah. Oh, you know me. He didn't think we'd give me a big strogan off recipe today, did you? The Friday morning conversation with Thomas Wrett. About 20 minutes ago, we were doing a segment here, and the door just flies open.
Starting point is 00:39:53 What I like is the comfortability. I just felt like I was home. Absolutely. He just walks in. We're in the middle of a segment. And so good job everybody here, because we didn't stop. And he walks in and he goes, am I supposed to be here? And we're like, no.
Starting point is 00:40:06 The answer is no. And then he walked right back out and went back into the room. It was awesome. And we kept going with a segment, and he was like, all, cool, I'll be back in a second. Oh my goodness. You know, I think that's like peeing with the door open. 100%. But you were just so comfortable.
Starting point is 00:40:19 Which I do. Yeah, even stuff like that with your wife or your husband, it just happens. It's part of life and you move on. How you all doing? I haven't seen you on forever. Yeah. You know, good. I like that color of denim.
Starting point is 00:40:30 Thanks, man. I like that's just denim. New shirt. That's denim. It's a darker blue denim. Oh, okay. Thanks, man. It's very 70s.
Starting point is 00:40:38 Do you have a, do you have a whole section of, because I have denim. I don't feel like I pull denim off very. I have a section of denim in your closet. Yeah. I'm a jean guy. I love denim. Will you go full Canadian tuxedo? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:49 Do you need to match? Yeah, not matching denim is strange. It needs to be the same color at least. You can't go, you couldn't wear that darker denim with light. Yeah. See? You want to do my stylist? No, I was just confirming because I literally wore dark denim with light denim the other day.
Starting point is 00:41:04 She just didn't want to feel like she did wrong. I think that works. That works. But if it's like two colors of dark denim and one's a little bit lighter. Gotcha. You know what I mean? You almost wanted to be way different. or exactly the same.
Starting point is 00:41:14 That's right. Will you wear shoes with different branded socks because I wouldn't not do that? I can't do that. Bad luck. Wait, what? Like if a Nike shoe,
Starting point is 00:41:21 you have to have Nike socks? Oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah, let's check right now. What you got? Okay, so these new balance that are purple, I would not wear a Nike socks so those are generic socks.
Starting point is 00:41:29 Oh, gotcha. Okay. So unless I'm wearing a new balance, I can't wear like Adidas with Nike socks or I'm probably going to have a car wreck that day. That's weird. I don't ever show my socks, though.
Starting point is 00:41:38 I don't either, but it doesn't matter. It's not for other people. Gotcha. My superstitions are for me to torture me internally. Right. Do you wear ankle socks or socks that are pulled up? I've been told by the young kids that ankle socks are out.
Starting point is 00:41:50 Same. Bobby's wife talking about. But then like when I go to the gym and I'm wearing high socks, I get looked at kind of strange. I'm an ankle sock guy. I'm like a 1920s baseball player there. Shoeless Joe. That's right. Thomas Reds here.
Starting point is 00:42:00 We got a bunch stuff to talk about. But today we promoted and we played, both we've been playing it all day and given lots of love here. Beautiful is you. Awesome. So, yeah. So what's the deal? because I have the song and usually I look up the liner notes too it's written by it. I don't know what's up with this song? Who wrote it?
Starting point is 00:42:14 I wrote it. Sometimes I'll be like, hey, you wrote this song? And they're like, no, I did. I did. I did. The song was actually started though before I came in on it. My buddy Julian Benetta, a guy named John Ryan and a guy named J. Cash. They played me the chorus of this tune. And we had a writing camp in about a year ago. And we went and wrote this song and a bunch of other ones. But yeah, those are those dudes. Before I play it, I'm going to get to it in a second. Will you tell me about a writing camp and what happened there? Yeah. So I feel like in this day and age, you either write in Nashville, like on a day, or you get a couple days with somebody, or you go on the road, like on the bus. You bring riders with you on the bus while you're on tour. Or a camp, I call it as like picking a destination, bringing riders and basically just going and camping there for like three days. Not intense. So removing distractions of home. Pretty much. So you can mostly only focus on the creative, maybe not just writing, but part of the creative is being with each other.
Starting point is 00:43:06 Oh, yeah. Hang in, you know, having dinner or whatever. But I, I feel like when I'm away, I feel like the pressure to like go home is not there. You know what I'm saying? So like if I write in Nashville, I feel like I got to be home by five or something, which is fine. But if you're really going to kind of get in the zone, I feel like a lot of the magic happens like late in the night. Like 10 p.m. to midnight is where some of the good magic happens. When I was finishing my second book, I was like I can't write at home because I have not even the distractions. There's just too many things I need to do here.
Starting point is 00:43:36 And if I'm built into this, I'm going to go do them. So I went and got in a different time zone. I went to Ireland, never been by myself. I flew to Ireland and really almost never left the hotel. But the time zone was so different. I knew email wouldn't get to me. But there was no distraction. Yeah, and sometimes just the change in scenery can spark, you know, different ideas and different melodic structure and the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:43:56 So, I mean, even somewhere as close as Chattanooga, you get into the mountains and all of a sudden you feel different than being in Nashville. That's why a whole chapter on my book is Irish famine. Oh, yeah. Potato famine. What? Is that right? No, not at all. I missed that.
Starting point is 00:44:09 It's a worst trip ever went on. And I don't know if it's a drinking culture. I don't drink. I get there and I also get car sick and I have a car and I get on tour bus and go to a castle and I'm sick the whole time. You drove over there? No, no, I got on a tour bus. I was like, I got to get out of here. So I got on a tour bus, got on a motion sick on the top of a double-decker bus, got to a castle that was more like one of those tiny houses, a tiny house castle.
Starting point is 00:44:32 What? It was small, but the only thing about it had that little top. Like a Rapunzel thing? Yeah. But everything else was tiny. It was like a smokestack on one of those tiny sheds. Have any of you ever driven in a different country, like on the other side of the road? No.
Starting point is 00:44:44 I won't do it. It's terrifying. You did drive? I did it once in Italy. Because you wanted to do it for the sake of doing it? Well, we were, you've ever heard of Lake Como in Italy? It's like northern Italy. It's like George Clooney lived, I don't know, whatever.
Starting point is 00:44:55 That's how I would know of it. Yeah. So he's got a house there. And it's the craziest place ever. But me and Lauren rented a moped, and she's on the back of it. And we drove like three hours on the opposite side of the road. and I swear to you the lanes are at least three feet tinier than our lanes
Starting point is 00:45:09 and the whole way my everything was clenched. So it's terrible. The lanes are smaller and you probably naturally, instinctually want to get on the other side. Well yeah and when you get to a roundabout you're just like, which way do I go?
Starting point is 00:45:21 You know what I mean? And they're all, not all, but mostly roundabouts over there. Like they have a different. Yeah, it's insane. The Friday morning conversation with Thomas Rett. You on social media now or no? Half and half.
Starting point is 00:45:33 Can you do that? Uh, it's probably not the best thing for me in the world. Mm. But I'll get on it every now and then. Yeah. What is your current obsession? Current obsession. Mine would be memorabilia.
Starting point is 00:45:45 As you say, I got signed helmets everywhere over here. Probably putters. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Are you still going, oh, remember when I thought I was being scammed? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Wait, what happened? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:56 Someone was faking being you. Because it came from your email address to my phone and not a text and you're like. Oh, no. My phone does that. No, no, yeah. And I don't, I don't. I can't figure out why it does that. And I told him, I said, come over whenever you want.
Starting point is 00:46:07 You can hit, I got a golf simulator. I was like, come over whenever. It was raining. I said, if it's ever bad, and he was like, hey, I was like, there's no way. This is him. This is some of my email address. No, I texted somebody the other day. And they were just like, yeah, just shoot me your number and we'll get in touch.
Starting point is 00:46:19 And I'm like, maybe this person is really old and they don't know that my number's on the screen. And he was like, yeah, it came through as your email. So we all thought I was being scanned. Yeah. Therefore, I didn't even respond for like a whole day. And then I'm like. I was like, cool, man. Yeah, sorry about that.
Starting point is 00:46:31 Appreciate it. So you would say putters because you just love golf? I love golf and I just feel like I hit like a Scotty Cameron putter. And I feel like there's so many kind of like first edition, second edition putters that they'll release. And I've just kind of gotten into collecting putters, which is kind of weird. Oh, you keep them. You keep them. Yeah, I don't use most of them.
Starting point is 00:46:50 Are those the really expensive ones? They can be. They can be. But mostly it's like the shape of it. But like Scotty is sort of like historically the most recognized putter maker. in the golf industry. I have one here, but it's gone. He stole it.
Starting point is 00:47:04 Is it George Byrd? No, Thomas Trey stole it. Oh, yeah, I have it. Were you ever a dipper? Yeah, big old grizzly winter green dip in my lip. How did you start dipping? Man, I think it was like probably at football camp. I want to say like one of the seniors, actually I know he did.
Starting point is 00:47:20 He had a can of skull peach. And I was like, they make peach skull. Oh, dude, it's the best. It rhymes me of summer. It's the best. Yeah, but the first time you tried it, did you get sick? Oh, I hated it. I hated it.
Starting point is 00:47:29 I remember, I remember I, I remember I. put it in at 5 o'clock in the morning and then walked on to the practice field. It's 100 degrees. It's wet on the ground. And I remember I threw up through my face mask. Because some of the... It just, yeah, just, I mean, if your body's never had that in it, like, it's just like not good. And then I feel like I, for some reason, like an idiot, like an idiot 16-year-old kid, I kind of forced myself to like it. And then I quit last June. So... You have made, have encouraged me, I haven't done it yet, and don't know that I will.
Starting point is 00:47:56 but you have encouraged me to, I think about using the nicotine patches. Yeah. Because there's nothing to it. You just take it and you feel good, apparently. And there's nothing else going in you. I would not encourage you to do that. I would not. But I mean, it's not like there's an guitar.
Starting point is 00:48:10 I thought they used those to quit. Well, they can't. Well, they use it to quit and then you end up getting super hooked on that. Oh, man. That's how the world works. But I mean, like Charles is from Lady A. Yeah. Did you get him hooked on just the patches?
Starting point is 00:48:21 He said. Why are you looking at me? No, I'm going to tell you. Because after I talk. After I talked to him about it, I was like, oh, I could do that. Because there's nothing else about it. Sometimes I eat cheesecake. Not good.
Starting point is 00:48:33 I get it, right? I think the biggest issue with it is that it probably elevates your heart rate. That's what I want. Well, well, then, I mean, I'm not saying you should do it, but coffee does the same thing. Exactly. We have a lot of stimulants in our life. Amy is one for me. She's a stimulant.
Starting point is 00:48:47 Yes. But you were telling me about it. I love where this conversation is going. I could do that. A bunch of moms out there being like, I didn't know he did that. Oh, they don't even know the real stuff. Drink coffee? Yeah, or they didn't know who did what.
Starting point is 00:49:01 You said a bunch of moms out there like, I didn't know he did that. Oh, dipped since I was like 16. Oh, yeah, but that's... A lot of people... No, your accent says it. Whatever. Yeah, I don't know. Everything feels better when you just like mowing the grass.
Starting point is 00:49:12 It's like put a dip in. It's like mowing the grass. I've heard a beer is good after mowing the grass. It is exceptional. Like after. Or a beer in the shower. That's nice. I've actually never done that.
Starting point is 00:49:20 Dude, try that. You'll love it. You just want a beer. You just want to hide the beers like that sounds like. Beer for breakfast, come on. Yeah. I saw that video of you, and I think it was during Easter a while back, and I think I know Russell Dickerson's family was out there.
Starting point is 00:49:35 Yeah. It looked like two children of each of you were holding hands. Yeah. Like your kid, his kid. Yeah, I mean, Russell's wife, Kaylee, was filming my daughter, Lennon, and their son, Remy, holding hands at the Easter egg party, and I walked by and I was like, what is happening? And they fell in love, and now you've...
Starting point is 00:49:51 I mean. They're getting married. They've been... Their schedule to be married? I mean, I wouldn't mind one of my kids marrying one of Russell's kids. I love Russell. And genetics are pretty good over there. Genetics are pretty good.
Starting point is 00:50:00 On that side. Do you ever feel like, and I would say it's all true, it's not an image fix or a gimmick. But like you're like a good dude, clean cut as far as like your lifestyle, you put your marriage out, your faith. Like everything is life is not all positive, but there's a lot of you put out your lifestyle. Sure. A lot of people would go, he's a good dude. I wonder if that's real. I will say it's real.
Starting point is 00:50:30 Do you ever want to do something bad just to be like, I don't know, I'll do 10 nicotine patches on a stream? Oh, oh, man, oh, man. But I mean, really, do you ever feel like I don't want to be known as the good guy? Or there's a held to a higher standard, or if you do mess up, people really hold it against you. I mean, I think it's both, right? Like, I think since I was, like, in high school,
Starting point is 00:50:48 I feel like I've always been, you know, that guy that, you know, people were like man you know you know you know TR probably won't do that or T R probably won't do that and I've definitely had my fair share of screw-ups you know but um I don't know dude I think especially becoming a dad it's it's been more of a thing of just like that is my responsibility to make sure that they turn out right you know what I'm saying or at least my version of right and so like I want to turn out right for you like you're such a good dude like don't put that pressure on me are you are you saying Thomas maybe like get arrested for something I'm just saying I mean if I got arrested I feel like my career would be over
Starting point is 00:51:19 really yeah but it'd be like shoplifting like Depending on what I got arrested for. Right. Yeah. Stealing gum, though, we feel bad for them because we'd be like, that's a therapy thing, dude.
Starting point is 00:51:27 That's, yeah, you need to go to therapy. But it's like, it's true, you're genuinely such a good dude that I think at times, and I will struggle with it where I'm like,
Starting point is 00:51:36 I haven't been in trouble in a while. I don't people to think I'm just this clean, so I'm going to do something. I would just be like, I'd be itching to do something a little edgy. Do you ever have, you don't feel that?
Starting point is 00:51:46 You heard Jones into get in trouble. I'm not even in trouble, but just to prove people, like, I'm not perfect. You pretty perfect. I hate getting in trouble. I hate it. Anxiety?
Starting point is 00:51:55 Yeah, I guess. Like, even when I was in high school, I'm kind of a, I'm sort of a, I have a rebellious spirit to an extent. Like, I'd be the kid that, you know, I had a beard when I was 14 and I went to a school where you couldn't have a beard. Hey, bad dude over here. Your hair, you know, your hair couldn't touch your collar and I would walk in and they would immediately just hand me a razor when I'd walk into school.
Starting point is 00:52:14 Two things. And so I, like, I kind of embraced that. Hold on. Let me stop you from the story. Two things are standing out big time. One, that that's the most rebellious thing. No. They walked in a beard.
Starting point is 00:52:23 And then number two, he had a beard of 14. I didn't even armpit hair at 14. Yeah, that's crazy. He got a beard. I got a strong jeans. Oh, did you say beard? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:30 I thought you said he had a beer. I did not walk into my school with a beer at 14. I thought he said beer. I thought he said beer. There were probably kids that did, but 16. Riley Green said you went duck honey with him, wore the wrong clothes. He's the worst.
Starting point is 00:52:43 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So apparently in the outdoor world, there is like battles of like what camouflage is cool, right? So there's like Maceo. and there's real tree and there's this new brand called Sitka and I walked into the blind in a Sitka outfit on a hunt
Starting point is 00:52:58 where everybody else is wearing real tree and they just kept like making fun of me that my camouflage was like not the same style as theirs this is the trouble he gets in oh man he had a beard at 14 and he wore the wrong camo if I were a parent and there was one country artist I want my kids to like listen to mimic oh my gosh it'd be you well I don't even know how to respond to that
Starting point is 00:53:19 you make great music you're great writer you make great music just generally, but also it's like, you're good influence. You don't even try to be. Hey. That's right. Hey, that's all you can say. I don't know. What are you to say?
Starting point is 00:53:31 I don't know. I don't even, it's just, it's kind of annoying. Well, I'm going to do something bad this week. Yeah. There we go. Now we're talking. Watch out, world. All right.
Starting point is 00:53:39 I'm going to steal some gum from a local convenience store. Oh, man. That'd be amazing. I'd be shoplifted as a bit and got out with it. Thomas Red, thank you for being here. The new single we played. Beautiful as you will play it again coming up in just a little bit. Oh yeah, I was asking about one other song,
Starting point is 00:53:57 because you were a writer on Dustin Lynch's stars like confetti. Yeah. How did that get to him? That was one of those songs that I wrote over Zoom during COVID. Really? Yeah. And I was making a just completely different project to that time. And I think one of the co-writers sent it to Dustin and he loved it.
Starting point is 00:54:13 So that was really cool to have. That was amazing. How often do you have a really good song and you're like, the timing is so not right for me to keep it? Yeah. Because you're not. in the area of even recording. And you're like, it's so good,
Starting point is 00:54:24 but I just got to give it to somebody. Does that happen a lot? Yeah, it does happen a lot. And I think there's a misconception in town of like if an artist sends a song to another artist, I think the artist kind of innately thinks it wasn't good enough for him. But I would like beg to differ that that maybe is sometimes the case.
Starting point is 00:54:41 But I think for me, it's like it's more about what is the project I'm making. And does that song fit this project? If it doesn't, I'd rather it find a home somewhere else. I don't know, man. I just want to be like, T.R.
Starting point is 00:54:52 Was it Hardy the other day? Do you ever have those moments? I feel like he was saying that sometimes he'll hear a song or see a video. And he'll be like, oh, huh. I didn't know they cut that. I wrote that song. There's been a couple, actually. There's been a couple that have come out.
Starting point is 00:55:06 I'm like, hey, I know, I recognize that title. Did you do a song with Chris Tomlin? I did, a couple. Isn't he the freaking greatest dude ever? He might be. Like, he's better than you. We have a new ranking. Okay, T.R. was there, one.
Starting point is 00:55:17 And other than I'm thinking about dudes, he just got jumped. He is better. He's like that. He's like that my friend hero. Yeah, salt to the earth. That you just want to be around more. And you don't even feel like he's judging you. 100%.
Starting point is 00:55:31 Even though he has a microphone right into Jesus. Yeah, I mean, I see him at the beach a lot. And he's one of those people. And I try to mimic my life after this. But like he's one of those people that when he asks how you're doing, he actually is asking how you're doing. And I know that's kind of a cliche thing to say, no really how are you?
Starting point is 00:55:46 But he just kind of invokes that feeling. And you kind of feel like you can just say, Like, I'm not doing great today. Because, like, most people you meet, you're like, how are you, man? Pretty good. How are you doing? And then that's it. It's like stays at the surface.
Starting point is 00:55:57 But Chris is a deep well, for sure. He's 8 plus. So he's one. Thomas Rett's two. Anybody else we want to put, we can think of that's over TR? Because he was one in my mind until I remember Chris Tomlin. I don't think there's anybody else. Over TR?
Starting point is 00:56:09 It's hard, man. Yeah. He's going to sit at two. I didn't think this is what today was going to be about. We never know what's going to be about until it happened. You walked in here during a segment like 15 minutes ago. I'm so sorry. We didn't think that that was its segment.
Starting point is 00:56:19 Because if they're living, because it would go, Jesus Christ Thomas. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no. If that's the case, Jesus wins every list. That's right. Good to see you, buddy. Good to see you too, man.
Starting point is 00:56:29 Congrats on the song. Thanks, bro. I hope it's another massive hit. I feel like it will be. Thanks, man. And there he is. Our friend Thomas Wright, everybody, number two on the list.
Starting point is 00:56:35 A good guy list. You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance. And then there's your body having its own program. I'm Dr. Maya. Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods of turbulence and transformation. There is one
Starting point is 00:57:06 finding that is consistent, and that is that our resilience rests on our relationships. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I feel like it was a little bit unbelievable until I really start making money. It's Financial Literacy Month, and the podcast, Eating While Broke is bringing real conversations about money, growth, and building your future.
Starting point is 00:57:48 This month, hear from top streamer Zoe Spencer and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landry, from Pierre as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up. If I'm outside with my parents and they see all these people come up to me for pictures, it's like, what? Today now, obviously, it's like 100% they believe everything, but at first it was just like, you gotta go get a real job. There's an economic component to community striving. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail.
Starting point is 00:58:17 And what I mean by fell is they don't have money to pay for food. They cannot feed their kids. They do not have homes. Communities don't work unless there's money flowing through them. Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. When you listen to podcasts about AI and tech and the future of humanity, the hosts always act like they know what they're talking about and they are experts at everything. Here, the Nick Dick and Poll show, we're not afraid to make mistakes. What Cougler did that I think was so unique.
Starting point is 00:58:49 Who's he? He's the writer-director. Who do you think he is? I don't know. You mean, like, the president? You think Canada has a president? You think China has a president? Los Wauque Rousette.
Starting point is 00:59:03 God, I love that thing. I use it all the time. I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night. It's like the old Polish saying, not my monkeys, not my circus. Yep. It was a good one. I like that. It is an actual Polish saying.
Starting point is 00:59:17 Yeah. It is an actual Polish saying. Better version of Play Stupid Games win stupid prizes. Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time. I actually, I thought it was. I got that wrong. Listen to the Nick, Dick, and Poll show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:59:35 Age 37 is when the average person starts feeling aches and pains. If you're 36, hold on, baby. It's coming. From SWNS. A new poll. Found the average person starts feeling those aches and those pains at 37 years old. That's when you're back and your knees. and your neck and your shoulder start to bother you.
Starting point is 00:59:55 And your feet. Is that your thing? Mine's all of those and my feet. Yes, they ache when you wear, like, say you go out and wear heels for a weekend or something. It's miserable. Would that not happen to you younger? Yeah, I could wear heels all the time. I would wear them to work every day.
Starting point is 01:00:10 Like when I was in sales before I started radio, I wore like high heels to work every day. And it was no problem. And now I would never do that. Do you ever wear heels? I would be in so much. occasionally, not really to work. Like I wear boots with like a thick heel. Yeah, I'm thinking
Starting point is 01:00:27 I've seen you wear boots with a heel. Yeah, like. But never like stilettos. To work. No, just anywhere. Well, I have some pumps. Even like at an event. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:37 I'll wear heels like that, like a stiletto heel to a work event. But I mean, it is any chance I get, I may be backstage or wherever with them off. And then they'll ever, they'll be like, put your shoes back on. I'm going to go back out. It looks like she's doing the walk of shame.
Starting point is 01:00:51 but she's at work, she has her heels off. My thing has been at about 40 is when my injuries did not heal as fast. So I'd get hurt. Because you know, I'm always training for something. Always. I don't quite know what I'm training for, but when something breaks or tears,
Starting point is 01:01:05 even my, it just takes forever to heal. I'm in the middle of doing, like, therapy on my shoulder. I got to get it right. Next weekend's ACMs. I'll be there in Dallas doing that. But then after that, we're going to go work out with the Cardinals, the St. Louis Cardinals. And I got to get my arm.
Starting point is 01:01:21 back. I had two tears on a rotator cuff. And if it's not back, we're retaring those babies because I'm going, I'm throwing. Yeah, yeah. Can you put that tape on it? You know, that? The black tape? This doesn't work for me. Oh, really? I've taped everything up. Okay. I don't know. I showed up like a mummy. What do you mean everything? Everything.
Starting point is 01:01:37 Just numb it. Yeah, a problem with that is because they can, you continue to rip it and not know. When I did dancing with the stars, they kept Oh, man. They did? No, no, no. It was like football where they're like, just put the needle in me. So yes, in a way.
Starting point is 01:01:51 But it wasn't them who did it. So I fell down the very first episode, like wiped out after my dance, tore something in the, like the trap muscle neck, neck to shoulder. And when I fell, it was like a sting. Like, oh, my adrenaline was going so much, though. I just ran through the crowd. And so they don't, they have like a physical therapist there, but they can't really prescribe you anything or tell you.
Starting point is 01:02:19 So I flew back here. and got with a professional sports team's doctor. And the professional sports team is trained to, if you're not going to hurt it any worse and you're only dealing with pain management, they can get you back in. And I was like, put me in coat. And so after week one,
Starting point is 01:02:34 I, on my own accord, shot some stuff up every few weeks. So it's like for dancing to stars, you were getting a little, like some athletes, they inject themselves to perform better? No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Don't get it twisted.
Starting point is 01:02:50 I wasn't doing PEDs. No, no. High performance drugs for dancing. No, for dancing with the stars. Oh my gosh, you're the Lance Archery of dance. Am I, Sammy Sosa? You are. Wow, wow.
Starting point is 01:03:04 I'm A. Roe. I don't know. No, I was not doing PEDs. Although, what a hilarious scandal to break out. Should we just fake that story? Yes. And then hopefully somebody picks it up. And I do a press conference.
Starting point is 01:03:15 I want to admit it. I was doing Roy. It's doing Dancing with the Stars. I don't deserve this trophy. But I did have somebody shoot me up every few weeks so I wouldn't feel it because it hurts so bad. And it would just do the pain. I would go away. Man, you dancers go hard.
Starting point is 01:03:31 And I still sucked. But I did win. And the thing is, these athletes, say a football player hurts his leg or something. He can get shot up, not feel it, go through. But what's happening is he's damaging it as he's not feeling it. Oh, for sure. Yeah. But I got fought through it.
Starting point is 01:03:45 Came to work yesterday. And then one dancing with the charge was the ripped shoulder. You're a hero. Not doing performance enhancing drugs. Add that to the Disney Plus movie. So anyway, the aches and pains come at like 37. Boom. The average person stops being cool at age 39.
Starting point is 01:04:01 That's when we start to feel like we're out of touch. The top things we struggle to stay current on include modern slang. I don't even try modern slang. I don't think I tried new modern slang when I was young. What do you mean? I was never cool enough to use the coolest slang. I would always go fall back a generation, even when I was like 22. Did you ever say fire or lit?
Starting point is 01:04:18 No, never. You ever say like peace out, guys? Yeah. Like that's like 90s Yeah that's like our time If I did I think I probably saying it's a joke But never just in my vernacular Like normal everyday vernacular
Starting point is 01:04:29 Peace in the Middle East Ever said that one? Yeah but I really meant it It wasn't really a saying That one came from the heart Yeah like I really wanted it to happen Like my junior high slang was like Eh
Starting point is 01:04:39 Huh Did y'all school have that? Yeah are you from South Texas Eh? Eh? Is that what that was? Yeah And we did that
Starting point is 01:04:48 In Arkansas we didn't have a Everybody at Fullmore went Like somebody would come like all dressed Like a Mexican Spanish thing Like a Mexico Spanish Yeah You said South Texas Because that didn't get up to Arkansas
Starting point is 01:04:57 Like somebody would get new shoes Like ah you think you're all cool And then you'd be like And then you would say psych Okay psych was the thing early on Anyways Yeah we had psych Ray did you have
Starting point is 01:05:08 No we had eh Okay Midwest Yeah those are new shoes eh He's from Michigan That makes sense Not eh I mean
Starting point is 01:05:19 But what do we have have that was comparable being in the south. Like, um, those new shoes? Yeah. That's it. That's it. Woohoo. Eh.
Starting point is 01:05:31 But eh almost, yeah, it feels very Midwestern when I say it. New shoes, eh? Yeah, that's Michigan right there, man. I feel like the guy from making a murderer. Oh, yeah, yeah. Stephen Avery? I didn't do it, eh? Uh, yeah, you don't, you're not cool anymore at 39.
Starting point is 01:05:45 So things you don't keep up with, number one is slang. But I never said fire or lit. I mean, but yeah, and then when you get teenage kids, you're in on it again. But you still can't say it. No, but you get it now because your kids come home telling you no cap and you're cooking. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it lets you kind of understand it.
Starting point is 01:06:03 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, mom's cooking right now. Oh, yeah, I cook. Well, I'd like to have some. What are you cooking? And people come to eat. Oh, yeah, spaghetti? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:16 Like, would you be able to pick out Emma Chamberlain? No. No. Would you? I don't think so. Show me. Wait, is she the girl from Harry Potter? No, that's Emma.
Starting point is 01:06:28 No, that's Emma. Watson? Emma Watson. Okay, not her. I don't know Emma Chamberlain. She's a YouTuber. How about Jacob Ellorty? No, definitely.
Starting point is 01:06:38 Can you show me Jacob Allerty, please? Jacob, oh, yes, I would know him. Yeah, he's good looking. Huh? He's Elvis. He's Elvis in the Priscilla movie. That's what it is. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:06:49 Okay. Not the Elvis movie. No. That's Austin Butler. I thought that was Austin Butler and both. He's just Elvis now? Always, though. What?
Starting point is 01:07:00 In every iteration of Elvis, in every way. Austin, bro, we got another one shooting over here. My mind is blown. I got to do another one. All right. Well, yeah, and the problem is when I watched him in Masters of the Air, he's like, got to go fly. Yeah, he's like Elvis. Hey, but my mom will go fly that plane.
Starting point is 01:07:17 I didn't see that, though. The arts. name a famous artist in 2024 other than Banksy. Oh, well, that was it. And Banksi's like old now. Really? Oh, yeah. Do we know who Banksy is yet?
Starting point is 01:07:29 Kind of. You can deep dive it. And I have a few times. And yes, there are interviews with him. But it doesn't say who he is, but they've kind of figured it out. And I don't think it's the guy, the lead singer of, because he may have just traveled with the band. Oh, okay. I don't do remember seeing something like this.
Starting point is 01:07:45 Yeah. Robert Del Naha or something is the guy's name. but what was the band is a British band Mike you tell me the name of the band Massive attack but that's not the same guy's elite singer right I think for a long time people thought it was him because the same place the art would show up
Starting point is 01:08:02 How about fashion I have a younger wife What new fashion? Yeah I have a younger wife That's why I wear all the coolest stuff like I'm learning today I learned things from her too Totally mismatched shorts and a hoodie Because it's so cold in here
Starting point is 01:08:18 but I keep it that way of purpose. Books, technology, movie, social media, music, and food. There you go. By the way, none of you are cool. Nah. We don't think it makes you cool. The fact that you don't try to be cool. And isn't that what cool is?
Starting point is 01:08:31 Not trying to be cool. Yeah. Yeah, because the cool guy is cool. Cool is just doing it yourself. Cool's like, screw it, man. I'm living my own life. And that's you guys. Thank you, man.
Starting point is 01:08:39 So celebrate your coolness. I see the old George Line boys are fighting again. Are they? Florida flighting George Lines. Guys. It's fun because it's not quite, you know, Drake and Kendrick. It would be funny if they did like country, like a country battle. They were doing songs about each other.
Starting point is 01:08:59 You never sang on a song, I did the vocals. Oh, man. That would be funny. You know, back in 2022, the first version of this happened when Tyler Hubbard came on my podcast. He then went on bus some of the boys like a week ago or something. And it's kind of reemerged and just a wonderful. way. They also had to shut down the bar.
Starting point is 01:09:22 Yeah, that's crazy. I guess the house got split up in the divorce. Yeah. Like that, you know. But why didn't they just split up the bar then? You know, like this is Tyler. No, no. George is here.
Starting point is 01:09:33 And Florida's over there. Florida's here. So I'll give you the current version now. I think Tyler went on bussing with the boys first. Tyler's the one who has the hits now. He's out. He's had a couple number ones. He's out.
Starting point is 01:09:46 He's had a couple number ones. Yeah. What's another one? And then it's like Back then right now. I want a little back then right now. Doing pretty good. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:09:56 Not you. No, Tyler is. And Tyler was also a lead singer of FGL. BK. Hasn't had as much commercial success yet. I don't know if he's like building a maybe like an artsy project. I don't know. He did the beach cowboy for a little bit.
Starting point is 01:10:10 But I don't know if he ever like really launched it. Remember he was playing with like a pair on his shoulder? I feel like he was doing shows in Florida. What do you say? He's an album out today. Okay, good. good Preston. Okay. So, Tyler went on, busting with the boys. It's good podcast for sure. And then BK. I apparently called him was like, well, I need to come tell my side of the story.
Starting point is 01:10:29 The same thing happened in 2022. Tyler Hubbard came over and we sat for an hour. And he talked about taking a break and each of them pursuing their solo careers. This is with me. My official thing was we're not breaking up. We're just taking a break. So yeah, for me, I mean, I've told BK, you know, we're going to give this 100%. and we're going to both build something great, and then we can reassess five, ten years down the road. Five ten years? But I'm not talking, yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:55 But for me, this is the thing that I'm going to be doing for a while. And he had said that BK was the one who wanted to go solo. I was surprised by that. Usually it's the lead singer who wants to go solo. But I get it. You're in a duo and maybe you don't feel like you're getting the respect that you deserve. Maybe you want to break off and take that risk. And then I asked him, was it the political divide that caused them to take that break?
Starting point is 01:11:18 he's the one that initiated this whole solo thing in the first place. Everyone started creating their own narrative at that point to have something to try to understand, why in the world would these guys not be, you know, why would they want to go do their own thing? And so at the time, it was in the middle of the big political, it was actually literally around the same time that the election happened and all that. So that was kind of people just said, well, it's political, you know. But ultimately, no, it was never political. Me and BK don't, we definitely don't see out of eye on every single thing, but we don't have any animosity about it. it. You know what I mean? We totally agree to disagree
Starting point is 01:11:50 on certain things. We talk about it. We've never had any beef over any kind of politics. And the clip that went semi-viral was, because I was like, let's be real here, you guys would play a show for a bunch of money. A lot of bands will get together if they're getting... And I said, if you were offered a million bucks to play a wedding, would you do it?
Starting point is 01:12:08 You get a million bucks to play a wedding together? Probably not. Probably not right now. And I have had to turn down some dates because if you don't cut it off completely, it'll always be there and it's always creates more confusion for the fans. They don't know what's going on. At this point, I needed to fully stop one thing
Starting point is 01:12:24 to be able to fully focus on another because it really does take all the capacity that I have, all the creativity, all the schedule, all the time. So we did this interview and it was a good interview, but the whole thing wasn't about that. We spent like five or six minutes on that max. It wasn't even the plan to really get into that because I just wanted to know what Tyler was doing.
Starting point is 01:12:42 And I had had some beef with the band prior because they went after me like on Sirius Radio 1. for not having, I don't even know what, a long time ago. And so there was never like that great relationship, but Tyler was always cool in person. And I was like, you know what, I'm getting older. Why am I trying to fight with people?
Starting point is 01:13:00 You gave you a painting. I don't remember that. No, they did. In Vegas. Where did that ever go? We were backstage in Las Vegas and they flew the painting. I had a space cowboy painting. I don't even have it anymore. And I think the painting said something about. Oh, Beach Cowboy. My bad, not Space Cowboys.
Starting point is 01:13:15 Oh, no beef. No beef. Where's my space cowboy painting? Beach Cowboy painting. They wanted the beef to be over. I have photos of it. Ah, there it is. So, okay, get this. BK then called.
Starting point is 01:13:29 This is the same exact scenario that just happened. They got a better version of it, but BK calls me. I don't know who the number was. It was like, hello? It was like a Florida number. Like, hello? He goes, hey, man, it's Brian.
Starting point is 01:13:41 Hey, I don't know. Who that was? Is BK. And I'm like, oh, of course. He goes, I want to come to tell my side of the story. And I'm like, before you say yes, I think you need to really think about this, because if you do, this is going to go semi-viral. Because people love drama. He said, so, I get it, but take a night.
Starting point is 01:14:01 Think about it. You're just doing this out of reaction, out of emotion. I'm not going to allow you. I'm not going to say yes right now because I think you might regret it. Because it's all out of emotion. And I felt like, listen, if I was just chasing clicks, I'd have been like, come over right now. and you won't even believe what else he was saying. But he wasn't saying anything bad,
Starting point is 01:14:20 except for what BK heard, and it wasn't even that bad. So BK calls me the next day, and he goes, I've been thinking about it, I want to do it. I said, okay, if you're sure, I will give you,
Starting point is 01:14:32 we were in the transition of moving studios from house to house. I was like, I will basically put the studio back together. Mike and I, we had some other plans. We'll cancel him. If you want to do it,
Starting point is 01:14:42 I will give you that opportunity. If you feel like you've been slighted, and he's not telling you, He's like, boom, got it. So we spent all this time, like, getting the studio ready. And day of, I get a call and he's like, hey, man, I'm going to, I'm like, I'm going to cancel. And I'm like, oh, man, you're all right? Like, sick is now.
Starting point is 01:14:59 I just don't want to do it yet until I got new music out. And I'm like, I just rebuilt the whole studio. We canceled a whole day of plans. And he starts telling me about him and Tyler, like, got into a fistfight on a dirt road once. Oh. And I'm like, he calls me from WrestleMania. He literally called me from WrestleMania here in town. Yeah, and there's like people like, like,
Starting point is 01:15:16 Coke is entering the ring. I don't even want to be part of the con. I don't care about people's drama unless we're going to talk about it. And even then I'm like, be sure you want to do this. Because I'm not a click chaser. But if you want to do good content, I'm here for you. And he's like, everybody gave him all the credit. I was the one that was doing.
Starting point is 01:15:34 And I was like, I know, I know. That's tough. So he kind of screwed us over. But whatever. Now he's been on and he said all this stuff now. But they talk about the dirt road on the busing with the book? I didn't, I didn't listen yet. Wait, he ended up coming on your podcast?
Starting point is 01:15:51 No, not on mine. BK bailed out and never came. And it was like, I changed my mind. I'm not coming. We're like, we let me just with our own two hands. Put the studio back together because you said you wanted to come. Okay. It was a while ago, so I didn't know if you all rescheduled.
Starting point is 01:16:02 But it was just dead at that point. No, because he canceled. I was like, I'm going to wait until I got new music. And I'm like, I'm going to wait till never. Oh. I'm never wearing third you're coming on. That's a good date. he should just show a lie and said he was sick or something
Starting point is 01:16:14 because that I'd have been like oh I understand but to be like nah I'm just gonna wait till I got a better time to come on I was like okay so I get oh he did say that Tyler was the one that wanted that always hated me and wanted to start all the beefs he did give me that nugget too oh really he was like yeah T-Hubbs one that hated you and was one that started all the fights wanted to start all the fights with you and talk crap about you and I was like well that's interesting
Starting point is 01:16:36 but I like him he just came on and then I was like you know what I'm mature now I moved on past that and they came kind of wasn't though and I was like er. He was like, I never knew why, because I never knew why Tyler just wanted to start drama with you, like fight with you. I was like, it's fun. That wasn't like real life though. That's the thing.
Starting point is 01:16:53 None of this stuff's real life. Like real life is when you got pay bills, when you got like, there's strum and guitars and singing crap with millions of dollars. How real is this? Who cares? It's fun, but that's about it. Yeah, but that's the story.
Starting point is 01:17:06 So what did he end up saying? Like, what happened on the, when he went on busing? I haven't listened to it yet. I just know that he went back on. I saw a clip and it popped up on TikTok and I was like, man, I don't like him. I flipped off. I just flipped it. But he did that because he has new music.
Starting point is 01:17:19 Damn, true to his word. Exactly why. He got new music. Good point. Man, it all comes together. You know what? And it's a good press. I haven't heard his new stuff yet.
Starting point is 01:17:30 He's not Beach Cowboy on this one. Dude, he should have the parrot sing like a lyric. Right. He'd be like, I'm on the beach surfing. And I, tell me that that's not a hint. That'd be awesome. Like Morgan Wall. and gets post Malone. Beach Cowboy gets
Starting point is 01:17:43 Tukin Sam. It's BK and Tucan Sam. Dang. We're riding the waves of love. That would be awesome. Amy, that's funny. You get a parrot in this song? I don't know. You tore with the parrot on your shoulder? Amy, the idea of a parrot singing is funny. If it's not really going to happen.
Starting point is 01:18:05 No, of course not. Why would it not? That's an amazing song. That's hard to get the parrot to sing on like... No, you just record it once and then the producer puts it in. Anyway, remember all this stuff that's happening, it's not real life. People have real life problems every single day. This is not real life problems. But they have real life feelings. Yeah, but okay, go back to your mansions and have those feelings.
Starting point is 01:18:27 Oh. A little easier. I understand that. Yeah. But. When my feelings were hurt and I was really poor, it is a lot harder than my feelings are hurt. And I'm not really poor anymore. My, however my...
Starting point is 01:18:43 I go by baseball car. career has changed. My feelings are still the same. I guess. My feelings haven't changed from when I, you know. Yeah, I hear you. You must be really mad at someone to not to turn down millions of dollars. Or you have millions back in your mansion and you can have your bad feelings there. But also, but he, there is.
Starting point is 01:19:01 Oh yeah, they hate each other. There is truth in like to cutting that cord, like as painful as it may be turning down opportunities like that. In order for him to move on, he needed to sever it. They hate each other. Yeah. And even though Tyler was one that started all the drama with me, I'm team T hub. T hub, right?
Starting point is 01:19:19 Yeah, T hub. Why do you have to pick a team? It's fun. It's not even real. I might change teams tomorrow. Okay. No, change teams, no problem. Okay, so that's the update on that.
Starting point is 01:19:30 We have our own version of Kendrick and Drake. Yeah, country version. I guess BK put out a song, didn't he? Kiss my boots. Oh, is that? And he'd be like, kiss my boots. That's my parent. That's my parent.
Starting point is 01:19:45 You never let me have that with FGL. Now I got one. Bobby Bone Show. Boney. Up the Day. This story comes us from Margate, Florida. A 33-year-old man was upset how a car parked. He said, you know what?
Starting point is 01:19:59 I'm going to teach him a lesson. So he went ahead, got his key, carved his name in the side of the car. Why would you carve your name? Why would you carve your name? I just robbed a bank. I wrote my name on the floor in Sharpie. That makes no sense.
Starting point is 01:20:10 Yeah. And it was a patrol car. Oh, even what? Oh, my God. Probably without the riding on it, like an unmarked patrol car. No, no, no, it was a patrol car. Oh, wow, he's been dumber. And lights and everything. He plays name right in it.
Starting point is 01:20:24 It's not even that. It's a patrol car. There's like so many things that went wrong with this one. Okay. I'm Lunchbox. That's your bonehead story of the day. Amy's being very generous and offering everybody here on the show her dumpster. I am. I want to share this with y'all. It's so fun. I'm getting a dumpster at my house. Actually, it's available. So if y'all want to stop by this weekend, dump anything.
Starting point is 01:20:47 It can hold, I don't, thousands of tons. Thousands of tons of thousands. Tons of thousands. Hey, I already got ideas. I've got chairs that I don't want to get rid of. Bring it. I cannot wait. It's open for all.
Starting point is 01:21:03 Does he need to crush them? No, you just come toss it in. What if it fills? It won't. Because it probably will. I don't think it will. You're kind of inviting the wrong. Wrong group.
Starting point is 01:21:13 No, I want to share this with my friends. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. This is amazing. Yeah, I feel like it's pretty amazing, too. You don't have to haul it to the dump. I mean, you have to haul it to my house. Not even the dump. I like to go behind like, well, I shouldn't say this.
Starting point is 01:21:24 This weekend, I'm looking forward to opening up a window upstairs and just chunking stuff out over into the dumpster in my driveway. So you're still moving? This is in preparation for that, yes. I've decided that I'm not taking a bunch of stuff with me. Of course, if it can be donated, I'm going to be donating it. But there's some stuff that we just. just need to get rid of for sure.
Starting point is 01:21:44 And it's pretty pumped about this. And where do you go to dump your stuff, Eddie? Nah, I shouldn't say. That's rhyme with. You mean a convenience store? The what? A rastration? That doesn't really rhyme.
Starting point is 01:21:57 You drive by, you look for cameras, no cameras, real quick. Take the kids, quick, quick, quick, quick, dump them, dump them. And then we get the car and we go. Now you can feel legal. Do your kids have fun doing that? They love it. So then why don't you act like it's just somebody's random house? I think because they know.
Starting point is 01:22:13 I found a dumpster, guys. Go, go, go, go, go. And, like, keep the fun up. Oh, go to Amy's? Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a good idea. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then be like, throw one in the front yard too, just for kicks. She finds a bag in the front yard.
Starting point is 01:22:24 Well, that's very nice of you. Yeah, I'm going to offer it up to my neighbors, too. There's going to be no room for us. There is plenty. Don't be. I don't need. That's the thing. I want to share this.
Starting point is 01:22:33 It's like a gift because I'm not going to need that much space. And then a truck comes and picks it up. Yeah, they drop it off. You can keep it for however many days you need and then they come and pick it back up. It's like you're just renting it. And your neighborhood doesn't care that you have a big dumpster in your yard?
Starting point is 01:22:47 Or do you don't care because you're not going to live in that neighborhood anymore? Yeah. I don't know the HOA situation there, but it's not, I mean, for me, I'm just like if someone's getting construction, they have a dumpster there, so I just feel like it's just a few days. Good point.
