Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. In 2023, Bachelor star Clayton Eckerd was accused of fathering twins. But the pregnancy appeared to be a hoax. You doctored this particular test twice, Ms. Owens, correct? I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing.
Starting point is 00:00:24 Greg Gillespie and Michael Mianini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. this is Love Trapped. Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences. Listen to Love Trapped podcast
Starting point is 00:00:38 on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. When a group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist, they take matters into their own hands. I vowed, I will be his last target. He is not going to get away with this. He's going to get what he deserves.
Starting point is 00:00:58 We always say that trust your girlfriends. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Ikew, I got you. And I'm I go on. My next guest, it's Will Farrell. My dad gave me the best advice ever.
Starting point is 00:01:24 He goes, just give it a shot. But if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Turnpike Trubadors will be performing today. Very excited about that. Welcome to Friday show. Morning studio. Morning. All right, let's go around the room here. Bring me your favorite story of the day.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Eddie? Well, I'm a huge Elvis fan. So I saw recently that Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis's daughter, she passed away. And so now a judge has named her oldest daughter, Riley Coe, the new trustee of the trust. Was there a controversy about who was going to get the Elvis trust? Yes, because I think the mom, which is Priscilla owns a lot of stuff. So she was trying to get it from Lisa. The daughter. Oh, man, I'm confused. Okay. So Priscilla was Elvis's wife. but is Priscilla still alive? She's still alive. I met her.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Okay. So Lisa Marie, the daughter, who was married to Michael Jackson for a little bit. Correct. Got it. Riley is the granddaughter. They skipped Elvis's wife for the granddaughter? Well, I think Elvis left a lot to the daughter versus the wife. And the wife is like, give that to me.
Starting point is 00:03:03 So then the daughter has the ability to give it to whomever. So now that Lisa Marie is dead, the oldest granddaughter, which is Riley Co. Her daughter. Is the new owner. That could be tricky. And she, I guess she owns Grace Land now, which was Lisa Marie. Is she the actress in the Amazon show? Yeah, it's called Daisy in the Six or something?
Starting point is 00:03:24 Jones in the Six. Yeah. And that's crazy. Yeah, it's pretty crazy. So I read that story. I thought that was interesting. Yeah, I got the whole, all of his family tree up there. It's just crazy that Priscilla doesn't have it.
Starting point is 00:03:34 He gave it to the daughter and the daughter. It doesn't go back up to the mom. The mom then gets to pick. And that was just the legal battle that they tried it do for years. I never been to Graceland. Do you got to go? I know. You're such a music fan.
Starting point is 00:03:45 You have to go to Graceland. I want to go. The last two times that I've been to Memphis, my cars were broken into, both in an Olive Garden. But that was a long time ago. Yeah. So, and my question is, is it all the gardens fault or Memphis's fault? Yeah, I don't know. So I'm two for two in the last stops.
Starting point is 00:03:59 So I just am like, I don't want to hit the hat trick, you know? Dude, what's crazy is when you go to Graceland, they give you the whole tour and everything, and you get to see everything except upstairs in the house. You can't go up there. Does somebody still live in there? Because obviously Elvis is not alive anymore. No. Well, they say don't go up there.
Starting point is 00:04:15 That's where he died. Okay. It could also be that. He can't see the bathroom where he died. Who would want to? Yeah. Well, I mean, that's where he died. You know the story.
Starting point is 00:04:23 He was in the pooper. Lunch, watch what story do you have over there? Man, there's his hottie. She's 39 years old. Sarah Jacqueline King. She's a glamorous California attorney. And she has pled guilty to $8 million fraud. After she blew through $7 million
Starting point is 00:04:40 in a six-month stay at the weekend. in. She was a lawyer and she had a lending firm LLC and she was just taking the people's money and she was going to Vegas and she stayed there for six months and lost $7 million gambling. So it's money that she was claiming to be doing something else with? Yeah. She had an LLC called Newport-based lending where she was supposed to be investing the money. But she was just taking it and she was spending it. She played golf with Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rogers. Did she just pay a bunch of money?
Starting point is 00:05:12 She had, I mean, if you pay enough money, you can just go play golf with people. She's hanging out with them on the golf course. She is smoking hot. Well, that's why I wonder if she's playing with Tom Brady because she's smoking hot or is it because she spent a bunch of money. That's a great question. I don't know? Don't y'all have that thing when y'all play golf or if you're just one, you hop in with another, like three other to make a force for them? I don't know that that's going to have in there.
Starting point is 00:05:34 That's a funny thought. I don't know what's going to happen there. I mean, there's a picture on her, I guess it's from her Instagram that has just bundles of cash laid across the wind bed. She went hard. You know, it wasn't even a Ponzi scheme type thing where she would take money and pay it to somebody else and then keep some. You're like, Bernie Madoff, he would always, he'd pay people and be like, here, you've made
Starting point is 00:05:53 money. But he was taking in two times, three times the amount that he was giving out. She looks like she was just going to the roulette table or something. I mean, that is crazy. She stayed there for six months and lost $7 million. LA attorney accused of blowing 10.2 million of clients money. pled guilty of wire fraud. I wonder where the difference is in the seven and the ten.
Starting point is 00:06:11 Maybe she lost seven. Yeah. And like three million, she didn't. Yeah. That was the one she hit. Yeah, that's like when Scoo Steve goes. We won $16 in the lottery. No, we lost $83.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Steve, Scoo Steve. All right, thank you, lunchbox. Amy. Barbie, Weird Barbie from the movie. If you like that character, the doll is available for pre-order until August 18th. And then they're expected to ship May of next year. So it's going to be a minute,
Starting point is 00:06:36 but you can order the Weird Barbie, which I feel like a lot of my friends love that character. Weird Barbie was supposed to. show that when Barbie, if you were a kid and you had a Barbie, you played with it so hard. You like Rodon's face. You cut its hair. It was like the one. Split its legs. Yeah. It was broken because you just went so hard with it. And so Kate McKinnon. I know, I had He-Man. I didn't have Barbie. But I did love the Barbie movie. So I'm not running from that. I thought my Barbie was great. But yeah, it was really good.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Kate McKinnon's her name, right? She was really good in that role. Yeah, Kate McKinnon. Finally, a rebrand from Twitter to X in my app now says X. And will it ever just go to us calling it X? It's going to be tough because it's such as just. generic thing. Yeah, when you're looking for it on your phone, you scroll right past it because you're looking for the Twitter. Oh, yeah. I can't find it. If you type in Twitter into search, does it still come up?
Starting point is 00:07:20 Meaning, you know how you pull down? Twitter. Yeah, it comes up as X. If you type on Twitter, X still comes up. You can search for your apps. What? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, forget.
Starting point is 00:07:29 He doesn't do that. I have no idea. You can do that. So anyway, so Twitter is now X, but what the problem is, is people, like myself, I've had Twitter blue since before Elon Musk was there. Because I wanted to edit my tweets. I was using it for work. stuff. So I've been paying like $2.99 for a long time. And then it kind of came a weird thing where
Starting point is 00:07:46 it's like, you have to buy Twitter blue. Well, I've already had it. But the problem is now it charges his X. And so now dudes are getting in trouble because their credit card statement has X on it and their wives think they're looking at porn. Okay. And you have to explain the whole thing. Get it? Yeah, I get it. You paid money to X. Rated X. Right at yes. So that's the situation people get in charge for X. And girlfriends and wives everywhere are seeing it thinking their dudes are buying dirty stuff. Baby, I swear, I swear. It's Twitter.
Starting point is 00:08:15 It's just one X, isn't it? Likely story. Just X, though. And like they say, X going give it to you. You know what I mean? Thank you for being here. We've got a big show today.

Starting point is 00:09:23 all this ends tomorrow, so go over to bobbybones.com to do that. Thank you very much. Now, let's open up the mailbag. You send an email and we read it on the air. It's something we call Bobby's mailbag. Hello, Bobby Bones.
Starting point is 00:09:39 One of my really good friends. And maybe my best male friend has started treating me differently. I'm pretty sure he's hoping to be more than friends. I really value his friendship. So I want to be careful and not lead him on or upset him. He often pays for our drinks or dinner when we're out together. And I didn't think anything of that because he makes more money than I do. But then last week he tried to give me a gift. I refused it. It hurt his feelings. I really want to stay friends with him and I'm afraid when I tell him I don't see him in that way. He's going to not want to be around me anymore. What should I do? Signed. Friends own Zoe.
Starting point is 00:10:13 This is tough because I would say 95% of extremely close male to female straight friendships. If it's just a straight friendship, we're not the same. We were working together before we became friends. Are you pointing to me? Yes, because I'm going to make this example and you're going to, what about us? Oh, yeah, I know, I know. You're one of my best friends, but we wouldn't have just become best friends unless we were putting this situation together. Right.
Starting point is 00:10:38 95% of male, female best friends is a dude just waiting for her to be single so he can try to hook up with her. And maybe date her. Yeah, well, yeah, get together with him. Yeah. So I think he probably, he's willing to throw away this friendship by giving it a chance to be with you. Not just hook up. It could be any of them. But it sounds like he, maybe you're just recently single, Zoe.
Starting point is 00:11:05 I'm going to go in a place here, Zoe. You don't think I'm going to go. But it's going to be almost impossible for the relationship to be the same as it was before this day right now. Because he now, and his mind goes, I'm making him a move. He didn't buy a gift three months ago. He bought it now. He's making his move. What I'm going to encourage you to do, Zoe, if you're single, unless you're just repulsed by some part of him, give him a chance.
Starting point is 00:11:33 You're friends with him because of like foundational reasons, sensibilities, Morals. Whatever it is, you're friends with him, why not give him a chance? Unless you just vomit when you look at him. It's possible. It is possible.
Starting point is 00:11:49 You have to be men more than women because we're idiots. We need to see pretty boobs, but. We're stupid. Where women actually, you can see things, and you still need to be attracted to the person, but you can see other things to be attracted to. It's not just physical.
Starting point is 00:12:05 My encouragement to you is, unless you just absolutely, 100% against it, accept a gift, go on a date because you're never going to be the same friends anyway. So you might as well, give it a shot. And when it doesn't work, you can do the same thing. Hey, let's just be friends.
Starting point is 00:12:20 It's not going to be the same. You may eventually get back to a point sooner or later, but he likes you. He likes you. So there is no way to make it like it was. That's the sad truth to this because he now has made his move. He rung the bell.
Starting point is 00:12:35 You can't unring a bell. And you choose to be with them or not, give him a shot or not, and you'll never be exactly the same kind of friend. You can be friends again, but never be the exactly the same kind of friend. Well, give a quick what she should say, okay, say she does take your advice and she does go, give him one chance, and then she's like,
Starting point is 00:12:51 oh, shoot, I want to, no, this is not, I want to be friends. How does she then have that conversation? The first conversation is she has to now, like, accept the gift or whatever this is, and let him make the move. It's not up to her now to go, like, all right, baby boy, bring it. Because what if he's like, oh no, I just thought you thought you thought that. So that could also be happening here, but I doubt it. You guys' instincts, you're right almost all the time. We are not, because our instincts are boobs, but yours is all kinds of stuff. I would just say, put your wall down, let him approach safely, go out with them, see if there's something kind of romantic spark. And if there's not, you still have the same conversation that you want to have right now. But it's never going to be the same. sadly.
Starting point is 00:13:40 That's what I have to say. That's crazy, man. I think that happened to me in high school. As you're talking this out, I'm like, oh my gosh, that was me. There was a girl we were friends. And then she was like, we're not going to date. And then she gave me that chance. And we dated for like a week.
Starting point is 00:13:54 And then she was like, eh, it's not going to work. And that was it. That's crazy. As you talked about this, I'm like, I never once thought that that's what she was doing. She gave it a chance. She gave me a shot and I ruined it. No. Maybe he just wasn't there, but she'd, no.
Starting point is 00:14:08 You know what? Did you all stay friends? No. No, it ends. And it wasn't going to happen. It was never going to be the same anyway. Had she gone out whether you or not, because you had already expressed your feeling. That's amazing.
Starting point is 00:14:18 I think that's really the only thing you can do here. Yeah, I agree. Good luck. I hope you guys get, I mean, that'd be awesome. It'd be a great story if you guys got together. And I would give him a chance of then if, when you break it off, you can start building back to being more normal eventually anyway. You obviously enjoy his company. Obviously.
Starting point is 00:14:34 So why not enjoy his company? Yeah. All right. That's the mailback. We got your key mail and we've read it on the air. Now it's about to close Bobby's mail pack. Yeah. About time for Fun Fag Friday.
Starting point is 00:14:49 A couple appetizers for you. Vicks ballpoint pins have a hole in the top of the cap. So if a kid swallows one and get stuck in their throat, Eric can still travel through the cap. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I know those holes. Mm-hmm. On the cap, he used to put in my mouth and just go,
Starting point is 00:15:00 whew, whew. Remember that. The trend with men's and women's shirts. and it's lost it so long, it's not even so much of a trend, but the buttons on the right and the holes are on the left, on a man's shirt, and it's the opposite on the women's shirt. The reason, because chambermaids back in the day who dressed rich people,
Starting point is 00:15:21 they needed to know who was a woman's shirt or who was a man's shirt. So they just, when they made it and they put them on those sides. A chambermaid. You gave me a shirt, and it's a woman's shirt. I mean, I've been known to accidentally wear women's clothes before. I don't know if you do that. I did not know that. Are you sure?
Starting point is 00:15:36 Well, my chambermaid always would tell me. That's crazy. Okay, let's go. Fun fact Friday. Fun fact Friday. I have another similar one. This is kind of a mid-course, not even the main course. The guys leaving the bottom button of their suit unbuttoned because you have two buttons on a jacket.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Two buttons. I'm supposed to leave that bottom one unbuttoned. It started in the early 1900s when King Edward the 7th of England was too chubby to button the bottom of his jacket. So he's like, this I declare this is a fashion train. Oh. Because they're like, you never unbutton. You never buttoned that second one. You always button the top one.
Starting point is 00:16:13 And if you're, depending if you're sitting or standing. If you're standing, you can button. If you sit, you undo it so it doesn't like tear your button off. That's still a struggle today, though, because if you got a little belly, the bottom one is really hard. I demand it. You don't, but you don't ever button the bottom one, ever. I know, but if you try, you'll be like, oh, we can't. Thank you, King Henry.
Starting point is 00:16:27 That's why you declare fashion out loud. Fashion! Okay, here's my real one. Leonard Skinner, the band, is named after a gym teacher named Leonard Skinner. Wow. Three of the members of the band had him in high school. They got in trouble for having long hair, so they named the band after him and a tongue-in-cheek kind of homage to Mr. Skinner.
Starting point is 00:16:45 He could he give him any money? Leonard Skinner. No, I don't think so. They didn't name it. His name is Leonard Skinner, and they're Leonard Skinnered. So not the same thing. Who else is a Skinner? Simpsons? What is that?
Starting point is 00:16:56 Skinner, yeah. Is it Simpsons? Yeah. Mike, right? Skinner. Anybody have? An adolescent mouse can fit its body through a hole that is the size of a ball point in. Oh, that's crazy.
Starting point is 00:17:07 They don't have collar bones and they have a lot of fur. So like an adult, like a younger mouse can fit through that size. If it's an adult mouse, it can fit through a whole the size of a dime. So they can push themselves. Yeah, they just go right on through. They squish themselves through. They look fluffier than they are. It's sort of like my dog.
Starting point is 00:17:26 I have a Labradoodle and we just had to shave her down and she was so fluffy. And then she comes back and I don't even recognize her. She looks like a laber rat. Oh, she's ugly. Not ugly, she's so cute I love her, she's just not, she's so tiny. Yeah. Morgan. I'm a big Star Wars fan, and I didn't know this.
Starting point is 00:17:42 Leonardo DiCaprio was originally offered the role of Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels. And he met with George Lucas about the role, but ultimately decided to turn it down because he said he couldn't take on such a big role at the time. Lunchbox, a few weeks ago, I told you that a blue whale, when it goes to the bathroom, it excreets 52 gallons of waste.
Starting point is 00:18:02 But did you know that the waist is only, it's like ping pong size balls and it's made up like breadcrumbs, the consistency. And it's very important for the ocean because little fish and 86 different types of crustaceans eat that poop to survive. It's all perfect. Always. But isn't that crazy that little fish behind the blue whale, they eat the poop and so do the crustaceans. Eddie, what do you have? This is for lunchbox. In America, 1,700 people become millionaires.
Starting point is 00:18:32 every single day. The United States has over 8 million families who have a yearly income of a million dollars. That's a lot. I mean, that's crazy. But that has to mean there's a lot of families who are losing and going below. Yeah, well, that's not talking about that. Yeah, I mean, I feel like they're factoring in, like, there's a deposit. That takes you over, and then they got a pay mortgage and takes you back down.
Starting point is 00:18:54 Oh, like technically a million? I don't know. Yeah, I would think that's it. And I would also think there's a lot of people, too, that are losing money and we'll no longer be million. Dang, dang, dang. Because it's not just a gain society we live. Right, right. Spend and save.
Starting point is 00:19:06 Yeah. Yes. That's not very fun how we ended up. You guys broke it down. People were going broke. I mean, I saw that there's whale poop and perfume. What? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:16 Fun fact Friday, I'm out of here. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So this guy, Sebastian, he loves his metal detector. It's his hobby. He loves going places to look for things. and he was at a World War II battlefield in France.
Starting point is 00:19:36 And he came across a high school class ring that belonged to somebody. He just didn't know who or where this ring came from. So he did a lot of research. There was an initial on the inside an R, the name Corota. And he was able to find out that it belonged to Robert Corota, who was an Army Staff Sergeant. And he died in France in October of 1944. He was only 20 years old. That class ring was not old at all.
Starting point is 00:20:03 Yeah, he was killed in action. And Sebastian was able to contact Robert's family, though. And they flew to France and recovered the fallen soldiers ring. And now they have it back home in Hawaii where their family runs an auto body business. They have a Roberts Medal of Honor next to it. And the class ring is on display too. So it's just something really special to get back. Good for him for tracking it back.
Starting point is 00:20:27 Yeah. I'm telling you that I said, hey, put that UPS. To be honest with you. Because that Hawaii dream, going to go all the way to France. Even Hawaii to the States is a long flight, but then you got to keep going to France. I'd be like, throw that in like three-day parcel. Right. But good for this guy, for tracking him down. It's a really cool old school ring on the inside of us, the engraving of his name. And I'm sure that family really loves it. Like all jokes aside, that's a great story. That is
Starting point is 00:20:52 what it's all about. That was tell me something good. In 2023, former bachelor star Clayton Eckerd found himself at the center of a paternity scandal. The family court, he hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. You doctored this particular test twice in someone's, correct? I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case. I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Sunlight's the greatest disinfectant. They would uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg Lepinian, Michael Marincini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trap. Laura, Scottsdale Police.
Starting point is 00:21:42 As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences. Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at Americopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges. This isn't over until justice is served in Arizona. Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:22:02 or wherever you get your podcasts. There's two golden rules. that any man should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never mess with her friends either. We always say that trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends,
Starting point is 00:22:28 Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care, so they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no, I vowed I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves. Listen to the girlfriends.
Starting point is 00:22:54 Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, everyone? I'm Ego Wodom. My next guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live, and The Big Money Players Network. It's Will Farrell. Woo.
Starting point is 00:23:16 Woo. My dad gave me the best advice ever. I went and had lunch with him one day. And I was like, and Dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up and coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you. Which is really sweet.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Yeah. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be.
Starting point is 00:24:02 Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Easy trivia. It's Friday. Amy, let's go. What's the primary language of Mexico? Spanish. Correct. That's the category of lunchbox. Languages? Yeah.

Starting point is 00:32:21 Which parent is the pushover when it comes. comes to enforcing the discipline, the family discipline. I mean, when you guys were living together. Me, probably the mom. You were the pushover? Yeah, at times. I mean, I would try to stick with it because I know how important that is, but I tend to lean lighter, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Eddie? The mom, the boys take advantage of the mom, not me. Boy, I know that. When Eddie goes home, those kids, yes, sir, yes, sir, yes, sir. It's crazy. I know when my wife said something, they're like, okay. I don't even want to ask what happens, because Eddie goes home,
Starting point is 00:32:54 and they all of a sudden they're just like, I don't think it's anything. I think it's just the sound of my voice. Like I'm stern about it. Trust me, the sound of your voice, I don't scare anybody, but yes,
Starting point is 00:33:02 it does. Oh, wow. Yes, sir. Clean your room now. Blush, what about you guys? How, man, my kids are more scared of me
Starting point is 00:33:08 because of my deep voice, but I'll tell you what, I don't really feel like disciplining them because I'm like, man, there's being kids. Okay. So, here you go. The question is,
Starting point is 00:33:17 which parent is the pushover? The parent most likely to cave into the kids is overwhelmingly the father. What? Yeah. Really? Yeah, because dudes are most of like, whatever. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:27 Because they're lazy. Wow. No, it's not lazy. Because they're like, I don't even want to deal with it. They're just being kids. You're Sammy's pile of stories. It's Friday, so are you feeling lazy? Anybody?
Starting point is 00:33:40 Yeah. I don't ever feel lazy. I just need a nap. Do you think people feel lazy on Friday? I mean, this is my general question. Do you feel lazy on Fridays? I guess. Because that's like almost a weekend?
Starting point is 00:33:50 Or is it like I really want to finish strong? That's how I feel. Yeah. Well, a new study from Texas A&M found that workers are the least productive on Fridays. Computer, you know, they tested like how many clicks for a minute, how much typing is going on, all this stuff. Monday through Thursday, it's like people are in business. And on Friday, it drops drastically. That makes sense.
Starting point is 00:34:11 It's like, ah, who gives up? Weeks over anyway. Our job's different, though. Like, we have to do it. Like, you know what I mean? Like, we have to finish. Yeah, there's no just taking a segment off. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Well, you, sometimes you take segments off. Because you're on Facebook and not paying attention. Well, I'm saying like, but if we all... That's not a Friday thing. That's an any day type of. But if we all just sat here? Yeah, it'd be tough. Yeah, we just play music.
Starting point is 00:34:34 If you're wondering what day workers are the most energetic, it's Monday. That's the most productive day. Well, production and energy, I think, are two different things. Well, I think that when they studied it, it was like both because you had the weekend, you're rested up, you come in, it's Monday, you feel good, so you get more done. I think Tuesday and Wednesday would be the most productive because Monday you're kind of still like a little bit of fatigue from...
Starting point is 00:34:56 I love Mondays though. Me too. Yeah. My favorite is Tuesday. Boom. Boom. The best day of the week you all know it's my time. So I wrote a song about Tuesday.
Starting point is 00:35:07 So happens it rhymes. The lowest number of crimes. A super bingo at nine. I don't know how you do your Tuesday. This is how I do mine. So but that's, uh, yeah, yeah. Okay. That study was from Texas A&M and it makes me
Starting point is 00:35:16 last where I went to college. It makes me think about college. And then I had seen this totally different. survey about would you go back to college if you could like later in life like go back and redo it that's a great question and i'm going to answer i'm going to answer yes only because nobody in my family graduated high school much less college for the sake of just going to college and what i got from the actual college part of it no no because i'm doing this and most jobs you can just get started in the real world but i want doctors to go back to college if they had the same question asked but yeah no
Starting point is 00:35:53 But my answer is yes because it was important to me to be the first family member to do that high school and college. Yeah. Almost half of people asked that they would go back, but mostly so that they could learn time management because it's an opportunity to learn things. You know, bro, skewski. You know, financial planning stuff or just completely change their major. I hear you. I think college is amazing, but it's also overrated at the same time. It just depends on what you want to do with your life.
Starting point is 00:36:17 Everybody doesn't need college. And it also costs a ton, which is stupid. It is. It's stupid. We charge us for high school then No Exactly That's what I'm saying
Starting point is 00:36:29 Exactly we don't want that If you want to be educated There are a couple things this country does a terrible job at It's taking care of education And taking care of people's health We have a lot of money in this I was going to say university This country
Starting point is 00:36:44 We don't take care of people's health So moving on Amy Well there's a reason you should stop and smell the roses Literally According to some therapist, it's called a smell walk and it can reduce stress. A smell walk is exactly what it sounds like. You walk outside and take in all of the scents around you. I don't like smell walks around here because if you walk behind lunchbox, you get a dose of the opposite. It's a different
Starting point is 00:37:08 kind of smell. It's a bottom. Different, yes, yes. It just helps with sensory input and like your helps you just reset if you need it. And then lastly, start your mornings with a cup of proffy or profi. I guess it would be profy. What's proe? So, what's the pro forma? So coffee and protein. So I saw this on TikTok. It's like a lot of people are doing it. You just put one scoop.
Starting point is 00:37:30 No. Meat. A steak. A scoop of protein powder. It's chicken and coffee. Yeah. In your black coffee. So it sort of gives it if you have vanilla or chocolate or whatever it gives it that flavor,
Starting point is 00:37:42 but it also gives you some protein in the morning. So it's profy. I've been drinking athletic greens every morning. Me too. What is that? The little package. The green stuff. I tell my wife what my goals are.
Starting point is 00:37:52 And then she helps me get to that goal. She's like, I think because you have stomach issues, you're trying to get these vitamins. She said, just drink athletic greens. It's a package of basically green vitamin. You dump on your water and you drink it. And it doesn't taste great for me because I don't like the taste of just vegetables. But she said, hey, if you don't like the taste of it, it's too bitter.
Starting point is 00:38:12 Like a pure vegetable smoothie, I don't like those. Like she just pours a little bit of lime juice in it. So I do a little of lime juice into that. It is not near as bad. So I do that every morning. Okay. And I put a tablespoon of chlorophyll in there. No idea what it does, but she tells me to do it.
Starting point is 00:38:29 Isn't that the stuff? Well, you pass out. That's what it's a more form, guys. No, it gives, it's giving, uh, that's giving oxygen to your blood. Yeah, I don't know. Like I said, I would tell her my goal and that she would go, this is what I think you could do. Let's try and see what happens. So you're kind of microdosing like me.
Starting point is 00:38:45 No, you're not microdosing. Yeah, with, uh, emergency. No. that's not really what that is. Yes. Thank you guys for being here today. Don't forget tonight we'll be in Wichita, Kansas, doing my comedically inspirational show. Would love for you to come. There's some tickets for tonight. Tomorrow night's sold out, but we'd love for you to come. Go to Bobbybones.com. And also tickets at 10 a

And there you can also get on the contest to win a free trip to Vegas to watch the show. So thank you. Amy, is that it? Yep, I made me. That's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Stay home, there's something good.
Starting point is 00:39:31 Brittany lives in Hanover, Pennsylvania. She was headed to Walmart, and her son was like, Mom, can I go? Can I bring my stuff lying with us? She's like, sure, grab the stuffed lion. It's his favorite stuffed animal. He goes everywhere with it. So they go to Walmart, do some shopping, go home, eat dinner. And when they're getting ready for bed, he can't find the stuff lying.
Starting point is 00:39:51 and he's, wha, mama, I lost my lion. She's like, oh, no, this is miserable, his favorite stuffed animal. So she gets over on a handover Facebook page. It's like, guys, any chance someone knows where this is lives by that Walmart and go, look, people start talking, commenting, sharing it. And all of a sudden a Walmart worker gets on there says, hey, we have the lion. We have the lion. I'm surprised I didn't throw it away. Yeah, all right.
Starting point is 00:40:18 If it's just somebody working there and the lion's like on the ground or something, And so they said, we've been waiting for someone to come back and get it. And they showed pictures of the lion working at customer service. And the next day, she went and got the lion. They took the lion, put it like it was like a flat Stanley forking. Took a picture to show them that is like doing stuff. That's cool. That is really cool.
Starting point is 00:40:36 That's an effort that they did not have to do. Did you ever, I had a little, it was called Squeaky the Mouse. Oh, boy. That was your friend? Yeah. How big was it? No, it wasn't a real mouse, Amy. We weren't that poor.
Starting point is 00:40:49 I was poor enough to get a squeaked animal. animal from a yard sale. That's not what I was implying. Amy's like, oh, you had a nice rest. He's dead. No, it's not what I... I didn't not say that. It was like this big.
Starting point is 00:41:00 I remember church gave it to me, and I kept it for like a couple months, and then it was just gone. And we didn't have social media there. Oh, man. What, though, man, I still have squeaky today. That's a great story. Thank you, Lunchbox. That is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good.
Starting point is 00:41:18 Coming up just a little bit, Turnpike. Trubador is in studio. We call them at my house, Turnpike. Or as Caitlin calls them at her house, Oklahoma. My Oklahoma band. That's when it's her house and she's playing her music. So Turnpike Troobador is in studio. I'm very excited about that.
Starting point is 00:41:32 Ray, we play a club of my song. I love so much. This is the one that's probably my favorite Turnpike song of all time. I would buy for you a diamond under myself some gasoline. If I can't afford you, darling, then I can't afford to dream. I'm really looking for it. It's good, man. You know what that song means?
Starting point is 00:41:51 No, we're not doing that. We know what? We had this whole conversation. That's coming up. Just a little bit. I'm so excited about this. Okay, let's go to Amy and get in the morning corny. The morning corny.
Starting point is 00:42:04 Why did the book go to the chiropractor? Why did the book go to the chiropractor? I heard it's fine. Oh. That was the morning corny. Eddie when the chiropractor came in here to work on you? Yeah. Did that help?
Starting point is 00:42:19 Yeah. He told me, I got to break. my muscles up on my thigh because that's affecting my knee. Apparently where it hurts, hurts, that's not really where the problem is. Right. I guess the ligament just kind of goes up and down. Are you doing that? Yeah, man. That's cool. I got like a little roller on my leg that I do.
Starting point is 00:42:32 Super nice. I'm going to come up here and do that too. Yeah. Now my shoulder hurts, though. I wonder if you come back next week. We just set an appointment. I think we're getting interviewed them. We never turn the mics on. Hey, I'm down. Now time for the Spanish word of the day. Eddie's Spanish word of the day. The word of the day is Diablo.
Starting point is 00:42:51 I know this one. What is it? Diablo. It's a devil. Yeah, Diablo. Let me use that in a sentence for you. The Diablo went down to Georgia. He was looking for a soul to steal.
Starting point is 00:42:59 If you lose the devil gets your soul. Hey, so when you're out and about, and someone's like, hey, hey, hey, careful. Or the Diablo will get you. Yeah, that's a good one. I think a lot of people know Diablo, right? Oh, they do? I would think. That's a good one, though, to know that's devil.
Starting point is 00:43:17 Because I would think there was like, running with Diablo. Oh, Van Halen? Van Halen. Yes. Do you know that one in me? The song, yeah. Running with Diablo. Shout.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Shout. Shout out to Diablo. What? Motley crew. Oh, I thought you were saying shout. Let it all out. Or the Rolling Stones. Oh, sympathy for the Diablo?
Starting point is 00:43:41 Yeah, that's a good one. I don't think he ever says that. Yeah, just the title. It's never in the song. Right, right. But that song, Amy. Yes, you do, but you don't know. That's what it is.
Starting point is 00:43:49 It's, I got too many melodies in my head. Please to me too. Hope you guess my name. Doo do. No? Who is that? Steve Miller band? No.
Starting point is 00:44:00 Rolling Stones. I know, but, well, because they have, Steve Miller ban has a song, goes, who, who, who. Different. You're the take the money and run. Yeah. Oh, take the money and run. Yeah. A lot of who-hoo's, though.
Starting point is 00:44:12 I used to listen to that CD a lot. That's good for you for knowing that, though. I'm not telling you. I'm telling you. Money. I don't listen to it all the time. Dinero. Lunch rods.
Starting point is 00:44:22 There we go. I know money. Speaking of dinero. Let me say this. Tonight, we'll be in Wichita, Kansas. Come to the show tonight. We'd love for you to be there. Tickets to tonight's show.

Go to Bobby Bones.com. Also, tickets go on sell today if you have some dinero to spend. Nice. If you're in Monterey, California, tickets go on sale for that show today at 10 a Pacific time. Starting point is 00:44:58 that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. You doctored this particular test twice in so much. I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case. I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. Sunlight's the greatest disinfected. Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. There's two golden rules. any man should live by.
Starting point is 00:46:04 Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never mess with her friends either. We always say that trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends, Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by a truck.
Starting point is 00:46:30 I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care. So they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe.
Starting point is 00:46:48 On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Ago Vodam. My next guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live and The Big Money Players Network. It's Will Farrell. Woo-woo, who, who, woo. My dad gave me the best advice ever.
Starting point is 00:47:14 I went and had lunch with him one day, and I was like, and dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up-and-coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet. Yeah. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot.
Starting point is 00:47:35 He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:48:04 It's a Bobby Bones show. interview. In case you didn't know. Turnpike troubadours, they play in my house all the time. My wife is a Oklahomaan, and so she loves these guys, so I'm a fan too. They have a new album called A Cat in the Rain that comes out August 25th. I love diamonds and gasoline, the song. And I would buy for you a diamond under myself some gasoline. They're popping up on TV shows everywhere, and we're just super excited. They're here, so let's go. Turnpike troubadours. Glad you guys are here.
Starting point is 00:48:39 Thanks for coming. Like really. Thanks. Yeah, good to see it. So I will say this, that I'm in Taliqua a lot, Oklahoma. Oh, yeah? Yes. And so that is where the band, that's basically the genesis of the band, right?
Starting point is 00:48:50 Yeah. My wife's from Fort Gibson. Oh, wow. And we are there, I mean, a lot, multiple. And we eat in Talaquah a lot. And so my wife has been such a big fan of you guys ever since I've known her to the point where she doesn't even say your whole name. It's never Turnpike Trubedores. It's just turnpike troubadoors.
Starting point is 00:49:06 It's just Turnpike or TT or... And so is that if... Die-hard fans of you guys, like, what's the name? What's the nickname? Is it just Turnpike? It's just Turnpike, I think. That's what I hear all the time. And sometimes she'll just go, she didn't even go all the way.
Starting point is 00:49:22 She just has the T sound. So what's always fascinating to me about however you guys are classified, and it's been classified differently through the years, if it's red dirt, if it's... This show, we all met in Texas, lived in Texas for 12 years, We're born in Austin, raised in Texas. And it's a version of Texas. You're with a lot of those Texas country guys in our mind, because we've known about you for a long time.
Starting point is 00:49:45 But you're not even from Texas. You're from Oklahoma who hates Texas. And I'm from Arkansas. So is it weird to be considered Texas country whenever Texas is like the rival and everything? We wouldn't be here if it wouldn't for a lot of the people in Texas. And the music scene that is allowed to happen in Texas is sort of a phenomenon. So, yeah, they're not much of a rise. in anything other than maybe football, college football.
Starting point is 00:50:08 See, I would let it bleed over so much. It'd be tough. Yeah, I love it. I lived there for quite a while, too. Where'd you live in Texas? I lived in southeast Texas near Beaumont, Texas, around Anahuac and Winnie. Amy, when he mentions, like Jason Boland, or you mentioned, who else you say over there a minute ago? Oh, CCR.
Starting point is 00:50:25 Cross Canadian. Which CCR had two versions for me. I knew Credence because of my stepdad, but CCR also, being in Texas, that was Cross Canadian, and Cody and, you know, all those guys there. Did you ever see Turnpike at all? in all of your concerts? No, no, not. Because you would go to all of them.
Starting point is 00:50:39 I mean, yeah, we went to all. Well, I don't know at what year y'all were making the rounds there. Yeah, we were behind those guys quite a while. Right, so they're behind. So, like, when I was in college, I mean, that's what we were doing. So high school, 98, 99, 2000 college, it was Robert R. Robert Ralekeen, it was Pat Green, it was Jerry Jeff Walker. It was like that whole scene for sure, like shows over and over.
Starting point is 00:51:03 We'd go do the same thing. All those guys, like Biggin, you guys as me. music, like lives, those Texas country guys? Jerry Jeff. Jerry Jeff was huge. Yeah, and Robert O'Keehan, absolutely. I mean, yeah, all those guys are big influences and heroes of ours. Is it weird that you guys are now blowing up unlike you have ever blown up?
Starting point is 00:51:23 Because it's happening now, and you've been around. It's like an overnight success that took a whole lot of time to be overnight. It took 20 years. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's great, man. We'll take what we can get, you know, but yeah, it's really, it's really fortunate. And like you're feel, I'm sure you're feeling it now coming from all these different directions that you've never felt before.
Starting point is 00:51:44 Like offers to do things, deals to do stuff. I mean, do you feel like the music, what do you feel about now has changed? That all of a sudden people are respecting you for what you guys are doing and have been doing? The COVID thing kind of seemed to have an effect on it. A lot of people sat with our music that hadn't before. It seemed like, and we approach it a little bit differently now, and people, I think, know what they're going to get a little bit more. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:14 You guys play. Did you ever have one of those years where it's like 230 shows in a year? Oh, yeah, I bet. Where it's just like, you don't even remember anything but being on the road for just so, that was home. That seemed like more than one year. Yeah, a lot of years. You have a new album, and we're going to play some. First of all, I'm super grateful that you guys have set up and are going to play.
Starting point is 00:52:32 This is really cool for me, so I'll try not to say that eight times in a row. but this is super cool for me. And is there an order? Because I know we're going to do Chippamill and Mean Old Son. So what would you like to play first of all the songs? Well, we can do, we thought about doing Lori. Is that okay? Oh, you can do whatever you want.
Starting point is 00:52:49 I just have a list here of what they said. Yeah, yeah. We thought we'd do Lori first. Great, you can do American Pie. I'll give a crap long as you guys play. I don't care what you do. And then Mean Old Son. Okay, cool.
Starting point is 00:52:59 So tell me about the song you're going to do here. This is one that's been around for a long time. and it's just a sort of a narrative tune about a kind of a regular guy from southeast Oklahoma who we won't name. But this is kind of one of the first sort of story songs that we started doing. The Friday morning conversation with
Starting point is 00:53:26 Turnpike Troopers. Evan, who's the longest friendship here? And how long? Oh, man, don't make me say that out loud. No, RC and I have been in the band the longest, and Kyle, not too long after that. That's what we're looking at. Because some of us, Amy, how long we've been together?
Starting point is 00:53:43 Oh, 17 years? Yeah, well, we're something like that. What did this band, in your mind, start out as? And was it even going to be a full band? Like, what was the creative vision of what you were going to do with this version? Yeah, I just wanted to be in a band, I think. I didn't know what it was going to be. And we just kept writing songs and gathering up people.
Starting point is 00:54:03 And they sort of just, just the representation of their own interests, honestly, and their own, like, influences. So you're going to be, like, an electrician or something? Yeah. Is it a goal? Yeah, I was an electrician. I wasn't going to be. That's what I got out of a tech school and went to Warehouser down in Valiant.
Starting point is 00:54:20 We had a warehouse where I'm from. The whole town relied on Warehouse in the mill from Mountaine, Arkansas. And so we had a really big warehouser. You know, my stepdad worked there for, like, 30 years, super solid job. And when it comes to this, this is not a solid job. And I mean that in the most complimentary way. Anything creative is not solid. There's no stability in whatsoever.
Starting point is 00:54:38 So you're going from, what is it, everybody needs an electrician or a plumber. Like those are jobs we have to have and we depend on them and they're very valuable. And you're always going to have work, as long as you don't blow something up. To do this, you may not always have work and you may be really broke for a long time.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Yep. What happened to make you go, screw it, I'm going and pursuing this? Well, you know, I didn't have a whole lot of overhead. I wound up working at R&D in Stillwater for Mercury Marine, which was a really fun job and I worked with some fun people. And then Kyle and I were playing. I was playing almost every night.
Starting point is 00:55:12 So you'd work all day and then play at night, yeah. Yeah, and drink all night, whatever. You know, like I was worthless at both, I think. But we played a lot. And so I just thought, well, I can get enough gigs playing at whatever pizza shops or whatever I got to play to live if I don't. have a house or anything. Yeah, did you go, and if I'm not going to do it now, I'm just never going to do it.
Starting point is 00:55:34 Did you ever have that moment? Yeah. Man, all right, darn Pike Trovedores are here. What are you going to play for us next? This is Mean Old Son. This is one of the first ones that we wrote off for the new album. The new album, A Cat in the Rain, comes out August 25th. Mean Old Sun is actually, you guys can stream it now.
Starting point is 00:55:49 But the whole record comes out again the 25th. They're doing three nights at the Ryman. So they're doing tonight and tomorrow night. They did last night. I mean, you guys have been in Nashville for like a week, huh? Yeah. That's, hey, that's pretty cool. You have to, you have to, like, tour constantly.
Starting point is 00:56:03 Yeah. Going place to place. Yeah, that's, because I expect, you, you guys seem like you're, I'm looking at your schedule, it's your everywhere. I don't know how you remember where you are sometimes. We don't.
Starting point is 00:56:12 Except a piece of paper on the ground that says where you are. And that's what you look at. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No. So here we go, new album. Let's do mean old son from Turpike Trubadors. Nice, we got that note.
Starting point is 00:56:23 I'll wait for that note. I'll wait for the note. I'll wait for the, ding. I'm going to jump in there. Turnpike Trubadors in studio. Evan, you wrote that one by yourself. I did. Where did you write that one?
Starting point is 00:56:33 I was in Southeast Texas. We were getting ready. We finished a lot of these in the studio in Alabama, but started that one in Southeast Texas. Can you ride on the road, or are you too stimulated by the road? It depends. Typically too stimulated,
Starting point is 00:56:47 but if we got a day off or something, I can hold up in a hotel room and write, yeah. Are you constantly putting notes into your phone of songs you want to write? Try to, yeah. You ever look back at them and go, what the heck was I thinking with that one? Often.
Starting point is 00:56:58 often. We've got to come back. We'll get one more from Turnpike Trubadors. Again, the new album, it is out on the 25th. That song is already up for you to stream. It's called A Cat in the Rain.
Starting point is 00:57:07 The Friday morning conversation with Turnpike Trubadors. All right, so Evan, what are you guys going to play here? This is Diamonds and Gasoline. This is the title track off of our first record that we did together. Yeah, I was hoping that's what you're going to say.
Starting point is 00:57:19 Mm-hmm. I mean, probably the most played song in my house over the past two years, just in general. I was playing it for these guys, and I thought it was pretty self-explanatory. And I said, what do you think that's being said in this song here? Everybody had a similar idea, but without me leading you in any direction about the song that you, it is your song.
Starting point is 00:57:38 What is diamonds and gas? What is it about? I think it's about realizing that maybe you might not be enough for the situation. And maybe that situation isn't that important or isn't the end all be-hold, you know? A decision. Yeah. It's either get you a diamond. If I don't, I have to go.
Starting point is 00:57:56 Gasoline. Like stop dragging. Now I'm telling him what my thought was. That's what it's about. Yeah, you know, just keep extending it for no reason, wasting everybody's time. Oh, this is like one of my favorite songs. Yeah, that really, truly is about as close as you're going to get, you know, to be in you, thinking like you. Yeah, thinking like I was thinking when I wrote it.
Starting point is 00:58:17 All right, here they are, Turnpike Trubadors, and this is Diamonds of Gasoline. Oh, that is so good. Wow. Where do you play that in your set, Evan? we played a lot kind of as a break in between some of the faster songs or a big chunk of the set and the end of the show does everybody just sing that one so loud back to you pretty loud yeah it's great because it's so stripped man I was going to start singing it back to you there but then I was like I'm the only one so that would have been weird so I didn't but really appreciate you guys coming in like this is a real treat for me just a fan
Starting point is 00:58:51 oh us too just the new album comes out August 25th we'll be sure talk about that again whenever that day comes a cat in the rain turnpike troubadours now i am an arkansan not an oklahoman but by marriage i am a part oklahomans so you guys keep up representing this i say that when it's like when it's like oklahomans i like yeah you keep representing this turnpike troubadors thank you guys again give big about yeah everybody helen miren 78 years old and 50 cents says she'll be sexy forever because of confidence Martha Stewart on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Sorry, I'm in my throat.
Starting point is 00:59:29 You're right over there? Yeah. So 50 cents always had this kind of crush on Helen Mirren. Interesting. He says in this whole men's health story that she's 78, Oscar winner, she'll be sexy forever. She's sexy now. She was sexy when he met her.
Starting point is 00:59:45 She's been sexy. So the question, is there anybody over 70 that you can still think of as hot right now? In your mind. Like hot, like... I'll tell you what, let's do even better. Don't answer the question. We should do a draft on Monday.
Starting point is 01:00:03 Boy, that's sexiest celebs over 65. 65? I mean, that is... That's the draft. I mean, that's the draft on Monday. But I have somebody that's 85. Amy, Amy, don't admit that. Why did you go...
Starting point is 01:00:17 Are you going to talk about your dad? Wait, are they alive or dead? That's a good question. No, they have to be alive. Yeah. But that's also tough, too, because sometimes if we're confused on who's alive and who's Yeah, you got to Google. So Monday, the draft, sexiest celebs, over 65 years old.
Starting point is 01:00:33 Oh, my God. That's going to be a tough. That is tough, man. What do you mean? Like, I mean, I don't... Willie Nelson. What? I just trying to think, man.
Starting point is 01:00:44 No. Okay. I mean, I don't know many people over 65. It's not your friend lunchboxer over 65. It's celebrities. Because I don't, like, when they get over that age, I'm not checking them out. Okay. Well, we'll do that Monday, good?
Starting point is 01:00:57 You guys see, by the way, I drove the Bronco in today? Yeah. It's working. Both axles back. Both axles were broken. Let's go. It cracks. Front axle, back axle.
Starting point is 01:01:06 It's an old. Can I have a rule in the Bronco now, too, that I don't listen to any music except for the decade that it was born. So it's only 70s music in that thing. 70s. It's a 74 Bronco. That's kind of cool. So pretty much, like this morning I was driving in, keep on a rocking me, baby. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:23 Keep on a rocking me, baby. Baby, baby, baby Who is that, Amy? Steve Milibrand. Yes. Come on. I don't know why you did Bump.
Starting point is 01:01:33 That's kind of weird. Well, because I was like, yeah, I was singing the song in my head. But yeah, I told you, I listened to the whole CD. I feel pretty good going in. That's a good thing for me this weekend.
Starting point is 01:01:42 Got the Bronco back, although I'm not going to be here. Although we are, I guess, leaving in like three hours. Oh, yeah. But I still have the Bronco back. Yeah, yeah. You don't want to drive?
Starting point is 01:01:51 To which tall? In the Bronco? Oh, God, no. I don't even like, I don't even like, in the interstate that thing. You know how on TV when someone is faking
Starting point is 01:01:58 like they're driving or even a kid and they do their hands to the side like a big steering wheel? That's what driving the Broncos like and that's the steering
Starting point is 01:02:03 titan too. Back in the 70s, I don't know how everybody lived. This thing's crazy and we've done a lot of work on that thing. By the way, we'll be in Wichitaa tonight.
Starting point is 01:02:12 The Orphium. Bobby Bones, comedically inspirational. That's my show. You can get tickets to Bobby Bones.com. It's going to be awesome. We'll see you guys there tonight.

Okay, everybody? Okay. All right. In 2023, former bachelor star Clayton Eckerd found himself at the center of a paternity scandal. The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. You doctored this particular test
Starting point is 01:02:48 twice in someone's, correct? I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case. I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. Sunlight's the greatest disinfectant. They would uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg Alespian and Michael Marantini. My mind was blown.
Starting point is 01:03:10 I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trap. Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences. Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at Maricopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges. This isn't over until justice is served in Arizona. Listen to Love Trapped Podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 01:03:40 There's two golden rules that any man should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never mess with her friends either. We always say that trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends, Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist.
Starting point is 01:04:09 I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care. So they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed. I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves.
Starting point is 01:04:26 Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Everyone, I'm Ego Wodom. My next guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live, and the Big Money Players Network. It's Will Ferrell. My dad gave me the best advice ever.
Starting point is 01:04:54 I went and had lunch with them one day. And I was like, and Dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means. But I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up-and-coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you. Which is really sweet. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:11 He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, You know, the cat just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that.
Starting point is 01:05:37 There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks, Dad, on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'll read you the famous first line of a 90s country song. You just have to name the song. Oh, easy. Yeah, sounds good. I have seven of these. You all can play.
Starting point is 01:05:56 Whomever gets the most points is the winner. The example I would give is, blame it. It all. On my roots. Okay, you're going to read them all like that? I showed up in boots. Yes, because it throws you off. It does.
Starting point is 01:06:13 I'm not just struggling with the example because I read it like that. You don't know what he's doing. I don't know if I had the right name. What is it? Bootscooting Boots goot and Boogie. Oh, my goodness. It is. Friends in Low Places.
Starting point is 01:06:23 Amy, do you not know that one? I knew it. Friends in Love Places. Yeah. I'm going to mess you up because they're so easy. I got to put different effect on different words. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 01:06:32 Okay, here we go. Number one of seven. Let's... Let's go. Girls? What? I'm in. I'm in.
Starting point is 01:06:50 Let's... Go, girls. I'm in. Lunchbox's hand is still on his head. I'm writing something down. I know the list. All right. Three seconds?
Starting point is 01:07:04 Lunchbox's your answer. Shania Twain. And I put, man, I feel like a woman. Eddie? Man, I feel like a woman. Morgan? Man, I feel like a woman. Amy?
Starting point is 01:07:13 Man, I feel like a woman. Everybody gets a point. Nice job. Let's go. Let's go, girls. Okay, number two. Yeah, yeah. Not like I do it.
Starting point is 01:07:21 I'm throwing out of you. Here we go. When the sun goes down on my side of town. I'm singing it completely wrong. This is how the game should be for now on. When the sun goes down. down on my side of... Okay.
Starting point is 01:07:47 Amy's covering her ears. I'm in. Amy, you want me sing it to you? Yeah, I think I'm in. That's harder than you think. Some goes down. Need an answer? When the sun goes down.
Starting point is 01:08:03 Everybody drop pins? My teedquila. Amy. When the sun goes down. No answer. Lunchbox. Who's good and buggy? Incorrect.
Starting point is 01:08:12 Bootskut and Boogie Morgan. Red Dirt Road? No, no, at least Do I have it? No. No. You're not going to get a chesty
Starting point is 01:08:20 Chessday when the sun goes down. Listen, when the sun goes down On my son On my son's on me on. They sing boot scooting right? They do, yeah. That's why I have them. Here we go.
Starting point is 01:08:34 Everybody's only got one point there. Here's the next one. I'm going to sing the song in a way I shouldn't be saying. Here we go. Creole Williams lived down a dirt road. Oh, and then. Oh gosh.
Starting point is 01:08:46 One more time for the top Hold on Creel Williams Lent Down a Dirt Road All I hear is fresh friends Do you have it Eddie? I got it 30 seconds
Starting point is 01:09:03 Amy you're in Yeah Lunchbox what do you have Good directions Amy Dust on the bottle Eddie Dust on the bottle
Starting point is 01:09:12 Oregon I like it I love it Dust on the ball Is this too hard Williams Lift down a dirt road Is this too hard when I sing it like this
Starting point is 01:09:20 It makes it tricky Yeah but you're So fast, you gave you two seconds on that. Otherwise, it's so easy. Yeah, it's fun. Okay. Here we go. Ready?
Starting point is 01:09:28 I like it. Yeah, yeah. Spent 48 hours last night at the county fair. Oh, I know that. What? First line of a 90s country song that's wildly famous. Oh, wait, wait, wait. Spent $48 last night at the county fair.
Starting point is 01:09:50 I'm in. Hold on. What? I just say that I'm here. Some goes down. What? I want her that. She said the sun goes down.
Starting point is 01:10:01 Dang it. I know. It's a better be sitting on a t-shirt. Hi. Amy? I want her that teddy bear. Lunchbox? Barbecue stand on that white t-shirt.
Starting point is 01:10:09 Morgan. I like it. I love it. Eddie? I like it. I love it. I have to not listen to you. Like that melody you're doing, just don't listen to it.
Starting point is 01:10:26 Okay, here we go. I knew it. Next one. I bet you never heard old Marshall Dillon say. I bet you never heard. old Martian Dillon say I don't think I've ever heard Marshal Dillon I bet you never heard
Starting point is 01:10:43 old Marshall Dillon say Oh I know that one You do? Yeah I said I bet you never heard Oh Marshall Dillon say I'm in I'm in I'm in
Starting point is 01:10:56 You should know this one Amy I'm sure I should Don't take the girl Morgan Prop me up beside the dukebox Lunchbox Watermelon Crawl So far nobody's got it
Starting point is 01:11:05 What? Eddie Should have been a cowboy Correct. Listen to it. But you never heard Oh, Marshal Tilly Miss Kitty Have you ever thought of running away? But if Bones would have
Starting point is 01:11:18 a sing it would have been like Hey. Allie, you never heard Oh, Marche de Lentay. Okay, here we go. Next one. There's only two left. He was What can Duke call it.
Starting point is 01:11:35 I'm in. First line of a famous 90s country song. Here it is again. It goes like this. He was working to college. I'm in. You know I'm in for the win. Morgan?
Starting point is 01:11:51 Shada Hoosby. Amy? Strawberry wine. Eddie? Strawberry wine. Lunchbox? Strawberry wine. He was working through college.
Starting point is 01:12:05 Okay. Last one worth three points. Ten points. Three points. Three points. I need more than three. Three points. You can tell the world.
Starting point is 01:12:14 You never was my gosh. girl. I'm singing it wrong. What famous 90s song has the first line. I'm in. You can tell the world. You never was my girl. I'm in.
Starting point is 01:12:31 Nailed it. Watchbox? Don't call to come back. Ake, break you heart. Amy? Ake break you heart. Morgan. Don't take the girl.
Starting point is 01:12:38 Eddie? Sorry, guys. Aik you break your heart. Eddie's a winner. That's hard. I don't know. That got fun for me and really hard. I don't know if listen to like you.
Starting point is 01:12:50 that or loved it. I mean, it makes it challenging when you sing it like that. I know. We'll have to see, we'll get feedback on that one. Yeah. We'll get feedback on that. I like that game. It's so easy if we don't play it like that, though. Because if I said this, if I said, if I go, who doesn't know what I'm talking about? Who doesn't know?
Starting point is 01:13:07 Why don't spin spaces? Yeah. Or if I go, Who doesn't? Johnny's daddy. It's taken. Don't take the girl. See, it's very easy that way. Stop. Johnny's so fast, guys. It's a game, dude.
Starting point is 01:13:19 Eddie, you are the winner. Nice show. Yeah, thank you. Thank you. I'll say this because big night tonight. We're going to be in Wichita. I'll be doing my comedically inspirational show tonight, Wichita, Kansas, Orphium Theater. Tomorrow sold out. There's still a few tickets left for tonight. And then at 10 a.m. Pacific tickets to the Monterey, California show go on sale to all that of Bobby Bones.com. This story comes to us from Canada. A realtor was at a house to show a client. Oh, you know, this house is for sale. Let's walk through it. And the realtor got thirsty.
Starting point is 01:13:52 Open the fridge, grab the gallon of milk, drank straight from the gallon of milk, put it back in the fridge, said nothing. Only problem is the homeowner had a security camera that caught the whole thing. They were fined $15,000. Oh, my gosh. The fine's excessive. For milk, for taking milk?
Starting point is 01:14:11 Oh, for drinking someone's milk straight from the gallon. The fine's excessive. 15,000. Now, the shame is enough. They should be reprimanded, what they posted on the internet. People maybe don't use them, but I don't know.
Starting point is 01:14:26 I just got a couple thoughts on this. $15,000 fine. That's excessive. But I think it's tampering with food because his mouth was on it, which spit is there, and then they drink it similar to like... 15,000 is excessive.
Starting point is 01:14:38 That's a lot of money. Spitting in something, which I think is a felony. If you do it, like, as a food preparer, I don't know if you just drink somebody's milk. Okay. He got a jail. So,
Starting point is 01:14:48 The second part is You're just kind of an animal If you just grab milk and drink it out of If it's not your milk, regardless. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I had a buddy of mine that would come to our house and do that. My mom hated it. Yeah, that's just an animal thing to do.
Starting point is 01:15:02 Didn't we all use a drink from the gallon? No, I never was a milk guy. I would do chocolate milk. I don't know milk guy. And then thirdly, even if you wanted to steal milk, grab a cup, grab a glass. Right. Just pour it in.
Starting point is 01:15:15 $15,000. Crazy. That's such a hefty. fine. Or do the thing where you hold it above your mouth so it doesn't touch your mouth and it goes in. Yeah, but a gallon is big. You really have to tip that. Oh, it's heavy and it starts spilling. You start shaking. Because I don't know it's orange juice sometimes. I tip it. I do tip it like that. I'm lunchbox. That's your bonehead story of the day. So the question is when you were single and you could have done it or had it done to you, did you like it? And I'm talking about
Starting point is 01:15:41 getting winked at or wink at somebody. So the whole question they would ask a guy, even they would ask women too, but they found most women were winked at and not the winkers. but did you ever wink as a dude and how did it go? Let's do that first with the dudes. Okay. Because that's such a creepy uncle thing, the winking. I think I just missed that being something that people did actually show they liked you. Like my age, we didn't wink unless you were, I'm going to go, no, I never winked at anybody.
Starting point is 01:16:12 And two, I just felt like it's creepy when anybody does. But I never saw a smooth one. Maybe if I saw a smooth one, it would be different. Eddie? I've never winked at anyone. Like you said, I don't think, why are you winking at me right now? Well, because I'm just trying.
Starting point is 01:16:26 I'm not really winking at you. I'm just saying if I could do it. But I have to turn my whole head to do it. It's just like, Amy, how's this, all the white? So let's just say we're sitting here at dinner. You look at me and I'm like, no, don't start cringing. I haven't done it yet.
Starting point is 01:16:36 No, I'm not. Focus in, focus in. Stop. I can't. I wouldn't be able to take it seriously. I don't. No. It looks like a Twitch,
Starting point is 01:16:44 it feels stupid, but I was just seeing if it looked cool. No. Winking is hard. I've winked before. I'm not good at winking, like you said, but I was sitting at a bar, you know, and the chick's sitting across at the bar,
Starting point is 01:16:58 and I'm like, oh, man, like I'm having dinner at a bar, having a drink, just kind of do the wink, and she just kind of awkwardly smiled. It didn't ever, you know, result in anything. And then when they're walking down the plane, I used to hoping a hot chick would sit next to me, so they're walking in the aisle and I'd be sitting on the window,
Starting point is 01:17:14 and I'd just kind of wink like, yeah, this seat's open. I would think something's in your eye. Yeah, we don't do it. Wink? I think that's an art we never got. Because even when lunchbox winked, it turned his whole head. And I also kind of do the nod as I winked. Like, I nod my head as I'm winking.
Starting point is 01:17:28 Hello? Yeah, so we're. I'm not a good winker, but I definitely tried the wink with chicks because. Unsuccessfully. Yeah, because you see it on movies. It works. Oh, gosh. You ever had it done to you, Amy, and it worked.
Starting point is 01:17:38 No. You ever had it done to you and it not work? No, no. The only time we, my generation, I think, I can speak for all of us. I, winking is okay when you're already in the relationship. Like if it's something sweet with your significant other, like maybe they throw a wink at you. Maybe. I winked her.
Starting point is 01:17:55 She'd be like, your eye, okay? Are you okay? What's in your eye? I don't know. Other than that, no, I can't with the winking. And yeah, I guess it is like a movie thing. And maybe it's a skill. Like if you're really good at it, then it's awesome.
Starting point is 01:18:07 But maybe I've never like, remember when I had winking in the Christmas movie I was in my, my scene had me doing a wink. And they removed it. Because I couldn't. You wink. I couldn't, like, casually, like, make it a wink. I mean, I guess I've winked, but never in the romantic girl thing. It would be, like, if I'm being funny, like, k. Yes.
Starting point is 01:18:27 I've seen that. I've seen you do that. Hey, like, go get him chant with the finger gun and the wink on the eye. Morgan, what about you? Does anybody wink nowadays? Nobody winks nowadays, no. It's more of, like, a nod or, like, a wave over. Or kind of a smirk.
Starting point is 01:18:40 Like, come over here. Those of all happens. Smirk I get. Show me the smirk. Like, smirk would be like. Oh, okay. It's like not a real smile. I was switching like,
Starting point is 01:18:48 spark. That's pretty cool. I don't know. A nod? What's the nod? It's like a head nod. A nod. Like, hey, stop.
Starting point is 01:18:54 You're nod. It's the most bizarre nod. It's like she's drowning. She's pulling her head above the water to save herself. Okay, what is it? A nod would just be like over here. Sottle. Amy,
Starting point is 01:19:07 Why are you, your veins and your neck are popping out when you nod. Yeah, it's like you're stretching your head. Okay, okay, okay. I'm not going to nod in anybody. I'm just trying to understand. Morgan, have you had anybody? wink at you. I have. It did not work.
Starting point is 01:19:18 Were they old? Yes, they were much older and I just kind of giggled and turned around like I didn't see it. Ray, you seem like you'd be a winker? I would also do it with the air gun, so it's like a yeah? One of those. Are you doing that? Because when I do that, it's funny, but are you doing that to like, were you doing it to pick up a chick? No, I'm just doing the
Starting point is 01:19:34 sound effect for radio, but yeah, I would do an air gun. I'd go, give them a little that. To a lady. Yeah. Let me see. Oh, Ray's not bad. You like that, Amy? Ray basically had Amy with it, how you doing? And she took it and loved it. No, I just think of everyone that just winked in here. If there was a winking competition, Ray won.
Starting point is 01:19:56 Oh, yeah, because Ray has enough confidence in it to do it. Yeah. It's all confident. And it may come off as creepy, but it's still confidence. But if I'm doing it, I'm like, I'll lick my tongue. Don't do that. That's a weird lookout. All right.
