Starting point is 00:18:10 It's the anonymous inbox. Anonymous inbox. There's a question to be had. Hello, Bobby Bones. My boyfriend and I have been dating for six years. I'm ready to get married. My boyfriend says he doesn't believe in rushing into marriage. What do you take from this?
Starting point is 00:18:36 Signed, ready for a ring. Six years is a long time. I guess I would also need to know your age, because if you started dating at 14, that's different. Very. If you started dating at 25 or more, though, six years is an adequate time to know if you want to marry the person or not. Yeah. At that point, he can't use the word. I don't want to rush into it. Or the phrase, that's no longer valid. We're going to say we don't like it. But we have people on the show that have experienced the same thing. For example, Eddie was given an ultimatum.
Starting point is 00:19:07 Let me tell you my story. We'd been dating for six years. And I thought, we're just having a good time. Boyfriend, girlfriend, girlfriend, living the best. life and my wife said, hey, if you're not going to ask me to marry you, I'm leaving. Like, I'm going to go start dating other people. And that's the first time I'd ever thought about asking her to marry. And how old were you at that point? 26. 25? It's weird if it's the first time you thought about it. Yeah. I was having such a good time. He's like never crossed my mind. And it wasn't that like I didn't want to marry her. She was definitely the perfect person to marry. I just didn't think about marriage. Raymondo. Yeah, Texas state culture where I went to college.
Starting point is 00:19:46 None of my buddies are married now. And our relationship was fine and still is fine. Marriage really didn't change it. It was good for tax purposes, made my credit score go higher. Relationships the exact same. Now, how long, though, were you together? Well, our hashtag was six years later. So we did wait a little while, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:05 What advice would you give her? There's no, don't let the world put labels on anything. never rush stuff him her ultimatum I don't care I did it on my own time and guess what look at me now
Starting point is 00:20:20 you just said nothing's changed and everything's the same and it's just tax purposes and it's crazy to me that they think that six years is like they can still say don't rush it I think it's easier for guys
Starting point is 00:20:33 I think biologically speaking we get to have kids forever and I do think that weighs with women. And Ray's right. Like when you look at your friend group and no one's getting married around your age, you're thinking, well, I mean, no one's getting married right now. We're good. Heck, by the time I was getting married, all my friends were getting divorced. And then remarried.
Starting point is 00:20:57 So I don't say you go full ultimatum, but I would kind of put the screws to him on, hey, this is important to me. When do you think you'll have a decision on our future? Can you give it to me by December 31st for whatever it is? We can set, we can figure it. everything out, but I kind of need to have an idea. I'm burning daylight here. I need to have an idea of what you're, I don't want to pressure you right now, but let me know by the end of the year
Starting point is 00:21:19 if you even plan us being together. So take your time, let me know. Yeah, but you made a good point about keep in mind your age, if you said. Yeah, if you were 12. We don't know. We don't know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:28 Good luck. I don't like it. And if you are 30 plus, he needs to poop or get off the pot, but I wouldn't make him poop or get off the pot today. I would give him a friendly deadline. to decide if he wants to poop or get off the pot. That'd be my advice.
Starting point is 00:21:45 All right, close it up. Hey, I'm Ruby Carr, the host of the podcast, Encore. Check out our brand new episodes featuring music from the show that everyone is reheating as we speak. Heated rivalry. Join me as I go behind the songs that brought Shane and Elia together. I'll tell you the stories of Fice, My Moon, My Man, Wolf Parades, I'll Believe in Anything, and tattoos all the things she said. And how they all became a part of this global.
Starting point is 00:22:11 Phenomenon. Stream on Oncore on IHeart Radio, crave, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, this is Hayes Davenport. And Sean Clements. We host the podcast Hollywood Handbook on the Big Money Players Network. Our show is extremely accessible to first-time listeners. Each
Starting point is 00:22:27 week, we talk to someone in show business, aka the biz, and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us. Everyone has a good time and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman. Not that great. Actually, can you help me shape this?
Starting point is 00:22:45 How about we flip it on his head? How about we flip the script? What is the surprise woman? Actually, you think is the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird. Adam Scott, this entire time you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show. I would never expect. Let go of that. I have.
Starting point is 00:23:08 I would never set expectations for something like that. If the universe allows for something like that to happen, I'm open to it. I'm always going to accept. You know. Danny McBride, fine. Yeah, it's all this fragile masculinity exuding. I could smell it walking down the hallway, to be honest with you. I was like, is that weed?
Starting point is 00:23:29 Nope, it's fragile masculinity. Ben Stiller, no. Because a lot of times, out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is. You know what I mean? Like, you're like, oh, what's a state? Everyone's so dumb except for you. And fake. Right. Fake and also not interested or just like, oh, I've got my life.
Starting point is 00:23:48 I don't care about your life. And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode, but he's just so busy. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If your bookshelf and your for you page are equally important to your personality, welcome home. This is Prose Society, the weekly podcast that's part book club, part group chat for thought daughters, pop culture obsessives, and anyone who thinks Pride and Prejudice and Love Island deserve the same level of discourse. I'm Eli Rallo and every week we're connecting the dots between books, the internet, and the conversations everyone can't stop having. I'm going to have to look up this story.
Starting point is 00:24:32 I'm obsessed. I'm obsessed. From bestselling authors and your favorite book talk creators to the latest pop culture moments, nothing is off the table. It's like if you can hide some real messages inside compelling characters, then that is a Trojan horse. Whether you're looking for literary deep dives, smart pop culture conversations, or a community of readers who love to think a little too much, you're in the right place. Listen to Pro Society on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. See you between the pages. When I was 14 years old, I was kidnapped and held captive for nine months.
Starting point is 00:25:10 months. I survived, and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart, and these are the survivor files. I just remember this low, taunting voice next to my ear saying, shut up, don't say anything. Every week, I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable. I knew if he woke up, without a doubt, he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed, and I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. But these aren't stories about what's taken from them. There's stories about what it takes to make it out alive.
Starting point is 00:25:57 Listen to the Survivor Files with Elizabeth Smart on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I love Little Big Town. We were talking about the saddest songs of all time and like our favorites and their new album. So here I am with Little Big Town. Bobby Bow. This is a little bobby ball show. What's the best sad song ever?
Starting point is 00:26:20 I'll go blue eyes crying in the rain. Total of my top five favorite songs of all time. All my favorite songs are sad songs. Me too. Because I can feed it. We just wrote a song on the record called Sucker for a Sats song. That's why I asked that question. Oh.
Starting point is 00:26:33 Oh. Yeah. Well, you know what? I almost said. Yeah. Yeah. I think my favorite sad song is you don't even know who I am. Patty Loveless. Your favorite sad song is, don't pick your own. I know. I'm trying to think of my, I mean, I could be obvious and say he stopped loving her today, which is pretty devastatingly sad.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Still, though, it's cliche, but it's also cliche for a reason. Mm-hmm. Because it's the saddest song ever. The only reason he stopped loving her is because he died. Yeah. That's pitiful. That's. Also whiskey lullaby. My favorite.
Starting point is 00:27:07 It's one of the greatest songs of all. Just songs period of all time. My favorite sad song. And how great that it was on radio, popular radio. Oh, wow. It is one of my top ten favorite songs of all time. Would that happen now, you think? If it went extremely viral because Paisley was doing a dance.
Starting point is 00:27:21 Oh. Then they can deny, you know. Let's see if we can work on that. Also, ghost in this house. I'd throw Ain't No Sunshine up there. Mm-hmm. Blue Ice Cry of the Ring on my favorite songs ever. Everybody hurts R.m. I probably played that morning college in any other song.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Because I was just lonely. Everybody hurts. You know what we turned that into on the bus when we had kids was everybody poops. Sometimes when the kids were in diapers and you'd have one of them that would be like. You guys were doing parodies to poop? Uh-huh. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Even a little big time to us poop parodies. Oh, you don't know how many parodies we do.
Starting point is 00:28:00 I can't say most of them, but Jimmy and Philip are, they should make a living writing parody music. They first started doing that like in truck stops. Which is the perfect place to do vulgar parodies. Yes. And they would come back and get in the van after being in the truck stop bathroom. And they would have a new poop parody. Well, we have some group ones too. I wouldn't say I'm on your show.
Starting point is 00:28:25 It's a dying art. With the album coming out, it's a dying art. You guys aren't quitting, are you? No. Okay. Did that title throw you? You can be honest. I didn't know if you were just kind of pull.
Starting point is 00:28:39 It didn't throw me, but I wasn't convinced it wasn't what you were saying. Yeah. It's a dying art as a song about enduring love and. You could have picked any title to be that. I know. But you know what it is for us is like it says everything about where we feel like as artists we want to be, which is getting back to all things that we actually. do with our voices and instruments and art.
Starting point is 00:29:09 Even down to the cover of the record was a photo that was taken by Becky Fluke that we stretched on canvas and found an old frame and then found a guy that makes those little gold plaques and engraved onto the, like when you'd walk into any family house and you'd see an old portrait of a family. Have a nameplate. And then we took a photo of the photo. And so down to like celebrating the art that we make and getting back to that. And I know there's all the discussion about AI and everything.
Starting point is 00:29:46 And listen, I love to use it for like homework and stuff. Not my homework. But also like look at each other in the eye and putting the phones down and just having true fellowship with the people you love. That's a dying art. It's not the little big town's quitting after this record. No. No. It's just like when you hear that song and then you hear the whole record, you're going to go, oh, I get it.
Starting point is 00:30:12 I get it. It makes sense now. This is the Bobby Bonso. Hey, Bobby. You want to hear the full hour we did together. Go search for the Bobbycast on IHeart Radio, wherever you get your podcasts or Netflix. It's time for the good news. With Bobby.
Starting point is 00:30:29 Tell me something good. This guy went to eat and he left. and goes, oh man, did I tip? And so he's worried about that. And so we got home, wrote a letter, and sent 50 bucks in the letter to the restaurant detailing as best he could who the server was.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Because he didn't know their name. They didn't have a name tag. And he said, I was 75% sure that I left a tip, but I wasn't 100. So he wrote the letter and sent it back, and they got the letter and then gave the money to the right person. Love that.
Starting point is 00:31:03 That's cool. that's cool that's cool well no no it's really easy if you tipped or not you go look at your credit card statement and you look at cash i get sonic sometimes i'll forget i tipped and i'll just go back because it's cash i mean i'm sorry i guess i've never i accept your apology thank you and then you said statements so do you have the app where you can instantly look at what you paid no no you go to your go to a website okay get on the internet you do go to the website that's what you would do you do that yes oh good we're just surprised you would be able to use a website no no i wouldn't an app. I'm not going to put my bank on my phone
Starting point is 00:31:37 because then if someone gets your phone, they steal your bank. But your phone is your computer. They're connected. Your phone and your computer are not connected. A little bit, but I don't have... No, but there's no a little bit. Either they are or they're not. I don't know what you mean, but my banking information is not on my phone. Do you get texts on your computer? I do that. Okay, so everything on your phone is connected to your computer.
Starting point is 00:32:00 Correct. Right, but my, my banking app is not on my phone so it's not it doesn't send my banking information to my phone your banking app is not on your phone but your browser does your browser share i don't know how to do that you know what maybe you're right but i'm telling you my bank i do not use my phone for my bank i go to the i go to my right you can not use it but it can still be connected how the same way you get text through both no you have to set that up you have to say share with my computer you know regardless this story here I mean, it seems ridiculous. They posted on social media, they thanked them,
Starting point is 00:32:36 she got the money, all good. That's cool. That's a great story. News Nation now, I love the story. Your bank is on your phone for sure. That is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Fun Fat Friday.
Starting point is 00:32:50 So that painting, the Mona Lisa, it's probably the most famous painting in the whole world. And it's famous not because of how great it was painted, or even that it was Da Vinci. it's because it was stolen for a long time. And that really up the value because people talked about it until they finally found it. Well, for a long time as it was stolen,
Starting point is 00:33:13 Pablo Picasso was suspected it being the thief. The actual painter? Oh. They suspected Pablo Picasso of stealing the Mona Lisa in 1911, but he was released due to lack of evidence, despite possessing statues stolen from the loof. Damn. So they had other stuff, you just have...
Starting point is 00:33:31 But that's why that... painting, though, as a side fun fact, is so famous because there was this big controversy scandal or where it is it? Who stole it? They got it back, obviously. Okay, Amy. President Andrew Jackson's pet parrot poll had to be removed from his 1845 funeral for cursing too much. So Andrew Jackson must have been cursing a lot. Yeah. And he had a parrot. The pair was really, really sad that. Well, you don't learn that word if you're sad unless he's cursing a lot around you. Yeah. Yeah. That's funny though. I think I would laugh. That'd be a nice, if you know, everybody's sad. F, F, F. Oh, Andrews. I wonder, were Chris was the same in 1845? Like, what was a
Starting point is 00:34:11 a curse word then? Are they the same? Oh, that's a good question. I think a lot of them are the same because some of them are rooted from like the 1400s. Maybe not all, but yeah. Okay. Wasn't bloody a bad word? That's British. But you can, what do you, I don't even want to read some of these. Okay. They're really bad. Some of the ones that we don't consider bad now, I can do that, that were back in the day. By God, that was a bad one. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:34:37 Yeah. People would say, balls. That's funny. I want to bring that one back. Yeah, I like that. Or lick spittle. Yeah. That was one.
Starting point is 00:34:51 But most of the ones now that we have were still kind of in the mix for bad words. Eddie. The oldest cat to ever live. No longer with us, but her name was Cream Puff, and she lived to be 38 years old and three days, and she was from Austin, Texas. I don't believe it. Why? Let me give you the dates. Born August 3rd, 1967, died August 6, 2005.
Starting point is 00:35:16 Now do you believe it? No. Like that meant anything about you believing it or not. Now that you gave me date, someone just wrote dates down, said my cat's 38. The owner is Jake Perry. I mean, I don't know why somebody would make this up. I don't necessarily think a cat is alive. He said a dog, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:33 I mean, cats can live older, longer lives. I mean, 38 years. I'm looking at Cream Puff. I'm looking at a picture. Yeah, you can look it up. And it's down in history as the oldest cat ever. He had another cat, this Perry guy, who is the fourth oldest cat ever recorded. What's he feeding him?
Starting point is 00:35:50 Or is he getting second ones that look like him? Exactly. No. I look exactly the same. I believe him. I believe him. That's true. All right, lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:35:56 John Quincy Adams, when he was. was the president. He liked to go skinny dipping in the Potamic River. You got it. Try again. I don't know. Potamic. Potomotic. Potomot. Now you're getting there. Pottomac. Potomac River. I don't know. If you had to bet money on one of those. Gosh. Potomac. Okay. There you go. Potomac. Potomac River. And so Ann Royal was a reporter and she was like, man, I want to interview with the president. He won't agree to talk to a woman. So when he went for his daily skinny dip, She took his clothes and said, you agree to an interview?
Starting point is 00:36:31 I'll give you your clothes back. And so she became the first woman to interview a president. Dirty dog. I like it. It's called the Potomac, just for future reference. Potomac. Is that the one where George Washington crossed? He didn't really.
Starting point is 00:36:43 No. That's the Delaware. Yeah, the Potomac, George Washington, because it's no. Okay. That's not the one he crossed while in battle. Got it, got it. Yeah. So, okay.
Starting point is 00:36:56 Have you gone? Okay, everybody's gone? I got a couple more here. All right, next up, the word quarantine is actually Italian for 40 days. Quarantine. It dates back to when it was discovered that ships were infested with plague-carrying rats
Starting point is 00:37:12 and the ships were forced to wait outside Venice for 40 days before they let them come ashore. Dang. So they would get there and they'd have to sit for 40 days, which is pretty crazy. And then, spiked and studded dog collars date back to the days of ancient Greeks who would give their sheep dogs
Starting point is 00:37:27 sharp spiked collars because it protected their neck so wolves when they would come in and try to bite their neck they'd bite the spike. That's what Eller needs. A full body. Well, yeah, people say you can put full suits on them. With spikes all over it?
Starting point is 00:37:41 Yeah, when the coyotes were like in our yard. So, yeah, there you go. Fun fact Friday. Okay, so what did you see on Instagram? What was the prank they were doing? Oh, so they put a sticky note on the window of someone's car in a parking lot. So when they come back to get in their car, they see the note that says,
Starting point is 00:38:02 police are looking for me. I'm in your trunk. I'll get out when you get to your house. Like, all good, you know? And then they sit in a car nearby and film the person reading the note and see how they react. So the video I saw, the guy put his stuff in his car, read the note, and then went and popped his trunk to see if anybody was in the trunk. And I thought, you have someone that's saying.
Starting point is 00:38:27 the police are looking for them. They could be armed and dangerous and you're just going to pop open your trunk and not even be ready for anything. That's interesting. I would have popped it too, but my key fob has you double hit it and it pops up itself.
Starting point is 00:38:40 Oh yeah. So I'm back and far away. Yeah. Probably getting behind a car so they don't know who's actually popping it going pop up, boom, it's up. If I don't have that, I'm not opening. Yeah, I was thinking, what would I do?
Starting point is 00:38:55 What would you do? Call? Yes. That's what you should. do. Buddy? No, not somebody. No, no, not somebody. Call 911. The police. I know.
Starting point is 00:39:03 Yeah. So was anyone in the trunk ever? No, but they were filming him and they're just in their car laughing seeing how he would react. But if I call 911, whoever left that note is in deep trouble, right? Correct. So that's their problem. You're not going to know who left the note. Until they posted on social media. I bet they
Starting point is 00:39:19 don't. If the cops come, I bet they don't post it. If this isn't a public parking lot, they have cameras. They'll see exactly who put that posted note up. think they're going to track it? Sometimes people break in, they can't even find them. That's true. It's a great point. Didn't think about that. What would you do though, Eddie? You get to your car and has a note on it. Call the cops. 100%. You wouldn't try to pop it from afar? No. I wouldn't even no. I'd call the cops immediately. Do you imagine if there's anybody that would like get in their car and be
Starting point is 00:39:45 like, cool, I'll drive home and you can hop out when I get there. A little bit I'd be like, how would they have gotten in my trunk? I'm like, that's so stupid and I'd like maybe throw the note away. Oh, I never even thought of that. How would they get in my trunk? Your key. If your car was unlocked, they went through and pulled the seats down and got in that way. But if your car is locked, if you know you locked the vehicle, right, there is zero percent chance they could have gotten your trunk. So you're just like, all right, this is stupid. They could not have gotten in your trunk because you have a bicycle.
Starting point is 00:40:12 Right. I am not saying my trunk specifically. I am just saying as a human when I had had a trunk on the Ultima back of the day. I would have thought, there's no way they got in my trunk. Of course. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good.
Starting point is 00:40:30 The story's from ABC 7 in California, but I actually saw it on social media too because it has blown up. This girl, Heidi, has over 30 million views of this story about how her neighbor was really noisy. And, I mean, it was very disruptive. And she didn't know what was going on up there. So she decided to go up there and see what was up. Well, it turns out her neighbor's elderly and has a walker. And every time she was walking with her walker, and she has Parkinson's as well.
Starting point is 00:40:58 It was making the loud noise. And she has no family, no help. And they've struck up a friendship. And now she's cooking for her, cleaning, helping her with medical benefits and legal matters. She got with their landlord, and he stepped in and did some home improvements. And they've raised over $55,000 for Carol.
Starting point is 00:41:21 And now they're like granddaughter and grandmother, they say. She's probably banging on the roof for a lot. Be quiet. And it goes up and it's like, oh, I'm so sorry. Yes, that's it. Yeah. That's the post I saw was her almost in tears. I mean, she might have actually been crying.
Starting point is 00:41:36 It was a very emotional post that I saw of how she had one thing in her mind. And then she learned her neighbor's actual situation. And then I saw another video of her like chopping up some potatoes. She was like making dinner for Carol, my new neighbor that, you know, I was annoyed by. But now I want to help. And I love that they've struck up this type of relationship. Yeah, that's fine. Good story.
Starting point is 00:42:00 That is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Wake up in the morning. And then you turn the radio on and the dial just keeps on turn. Then you're here. Eddie and his lunchbox, more game two. We're Steve Ray and Abbott's trying to put you through. Mike D's writing this week's next bit.
Starting point is 00:42:24 Now Bobby's on the mic so you know what this is. This is the Bobby Vaughn Stone. And now the morning, corny. The morning corny. What party game do fish like to play? What party game do fish like to play? Salmon says. Uh, wouldn't it got there.
Starting point is 00:42:49 Salmon says. That was the morning corny. All right, voicemail. Bobby offered up a gift of up to $1,000 to send him to the IHeart Radio show thing. And he was so excited and he says, this is what it's all about. But yet he gets upset when Bobby helps others get to go to places that they wanted to go. He was like, no, if you can afford it, don't go. I think if you can't afford it, lunchbox, don't go.
Starting point is 00:43:23 There's a difference. I didn't go to Bobby begging. to send me to Legoland and I didn't send Bobby. Oh, send me on a staycation. I just talked about how I wasn't going and Bobby reached out to me and asked me, would you like to pay me to pay for your flight? Oh, man. He's really doing some mental gymnastics here.
Starting point is 00:43:42 And so also, yes, you're right. And then he did offer like $1,000 to pay for the flights. Then he scaled that back to $400. I didn't scale it back. So that's not what happened at all. Also, Lunchbox was going to message me on Giving Tuesday. I was. He even said he was going to.
Starting point is 00:43:55 But you went ahead, I didn't have to do that. You felt it in your heart that you knew that I need a reward. I need a break. I need a release. And so you said, let's send him to Vegas. And the only flight I could find was the $1,000 one in Scoob said, no, I found another one. It's like $450. You can fly him.
Starting point is 00:44:14 So I did that. But then he's upset about that, but I'm still out $500. And he's upset. Then I'm only out $500 instead of $1,000. Correct. 7 a.m. man. Just say that out loud. 7 a.m. return flight from Vegas.
Starting point is 00:44:29 No one signs up for that. $450 coming out of my pocket, not the company. Say that out loud. $450 coming out of your pocket, not the company. But you were okay two minutes earlier doing a thousand. We were looking. We were looking for flights. I mean, you were like, oh yeah, do it. Just book it. And then scuba had to ruin everything.
Starting point is 00:44:46 Hey, actually, you know what? Let's give them the crap flight. A crap flight throws better than no flight. Am I right? Yeah. And is it a crap flight? It is. It is. 7 a.m. is a crap flight.
Starting point is 00:44:59 I'm going to miss it. Okay. Thank you for the voicemails. Leave a voicemail anytime for us. 877-77 Bobby. Hey, I'm Ruby Carr, the host of the podcast, Encore. Starting point is 00:45:45 Our show is extremely accessible to first-time listeners. Each week, we talk to someone in show business, aka The Biz, and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us. Everyone has a good time and no one gets mad at their publicist for letting them do our show. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, not that great. Actually, can you help me shape this? How about we flip it on his head, right? How about we flip this script?
Starting point is 00:46:10 What is the surprise woman who actually you think is the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird? Adam Scott. This entire time, you. You've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show. I would never expect. I have. I would never set expectations for something like that to happen. If the universe allows for something like that to happen, I'm open to it.
Starting point is 00:46:37 I'm always going to accept. You know, Danny McBride, fine. Yeah, it's all this fragile masculinity exuding. I could smell it walking down the hallway, to be honest with you. I was like, is that weed? Nope. It's fragile. masculinity. Ben Stiller, no. Because a lot of times out of context, people don't get it or even know
Starting point is 00:46:58 what a circle is. You know what I mean? Like you're like, oh, what's a state. Everyone's so dumb. And fake. Right. Fake and also not interested or just like, oh, I've got my life. I don't care about your life. And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode, but he's just so busy. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On the new podcast Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle.
Starting point is 00:47:38 I chose option B. I'm Julie Pinheiro, and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading. a pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like, you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip, I hope you listen to Solita on the IHeart

Starting point is 00:49:26 If you say these things, you're old according to this video on TikTok. And of course, there were younger people saying it. Of course. All right, tell me if you say this. Number one, if you say videotaping instead of recording with your phone. I've said it. No, I say film it. I think both would count, though, because didn't you say you said filming too?
Starting point is 00:49:44 Yeah, film this. Will you film this for me? Yeah. Yeah. I think that counts. So, yeah, I think I just say, hey, we record this. So I think I'm good there. Next up, what do you call this sign if you just are saying it?
Starting point is 00:50:02 Pound. Pound, but is it hashtag now? No, that's a hashtag. Yeah, but what would you say? Hashtag. Yes. No, I would say, well. It's like on a security.
Starting point is 00:50:14 Like, if you're doing your house security and it's a number, what would you say? Pound. Yeah. Saying pound instead of hashtag means you're old. I would say pound as well if I'm telling somebody what to push. If it's on a button. Yeah, if it's on a button, it's pound. When telling time, if you say half past or quarter till or phrases like that, do you guys say any of that?
Starting point is 00:50:36 I don't say that. I don't say that. I say 645. Yeah, I think I say the exact time. Yeah. So do I. And mostly for me, it's because the math of all that is too tough. Just saying quarter till.
Starting point is 00:50:46 I don't even know what that means. What do you call the person, Amy, this is not for you. What do you call the person you go to and you talk about your feelings and emotions? That's the therapist. A therapist. Would you call them that? Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:50:58 What else would you call it? A shrink. Oh, I've never used that. I believe that is rooted in a brain shrinker. Oh. Or they shrink your problems. No, that could also be it. I'm not sure.
Starting point is 00:51:10 I feel like it's derived from, yeah, it is like a brain or head shrinker for the mid-20th century slang for psychologists, psychotherapists. Yeah. Okay, we're good there. If you say, what are the things called that Amy wears? Imagine she doesn't have a cord,
Starting point is 00:51:27 lunchbox, but what does she wear? iPods, earbuds. I don't know what they're called. Earbuds. So, Eddie, what do you say? I would go,
Starting point is 00:51:39 what would you really say? I would go earbuds. Okay, if you say earbuds, air buds, or ear pods, you're old. Gosh, what are they? I call them iPods. Airpods. Oh, AirPods, okay.
Starting point is 00:51:48 Oh. Yeah. You guys aren't going to air bud? Yeah, airbud. That's a good movie. Okay. This one, nobody says this here. If you did, you'd be 100.
Starting point is 00:51:57 A pocketbook instead of purse. Oh, no. We're not gone with the wind. Black and white here. The person on a plane that brings you drinks is the Light attendant. Okay, good. Not the stewardess.
Starting point is 00:52:10 Dude, if somebody said stupid. Why'd you point to the guys for that one? Because they would be the only ones to say stewardess. You wouldn't. Okay, thanks. Why did you get offended me pointing at them? I want to play. But I knew you wouldn't say stewardess.
Starting point is 00:52:21 Okay. Like sometimes I think they're, this is me treating them like children for the record. There was a transition there though where you had to. All of a sudden you had to get. All of a sudden they're like, no, it's a flight attendant. It's not a stewardess. I wasn't part of that transition. No, I know.
Starting point is 00:52:34 Why are you all having attitude about it? Nothing because we had to change. Like there was a time when we said stewardess. Because you just talked about flight attendants so much that it really affected your life. No, but if you did say stewardess, people were like, you mean flight attendant? You don't remember that time? No, no one ever talked to me like that. And I didn't talk about it that often.
Starting point is 00:52:52 Okay, next. What do you call the pants that you wear church? Slacks. Slacks. That's old. Is it? So what do people say now? Pants, just pants.
Starting point is 00:53:02 Is it? Sometimes khakis. Yeah, khakis and slacks kind of roll together a little bit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Amy, I just know you don't say some of this. That's fine. Please don't get offended. Is you're progressive, Amy?
Starting point is 00:53:14 No, no. You know. You know, you yelled at me a minute ago. I didn't yell. You kind of. No, okay. Okay. I get it.
Starting point is 00:53:19 A place that a woman would go to lunchbox to get her hair done. Oh, they called a salon. What would you call it? Haircut place. For a woman? Yeah. Eddie? That's the salon.
Starting point is 00:53:32 Okay. That's right. Some people call it a beauty parlor. If you say that, that's old. I wouldn't know what that, you know. And then what do you call the meal that's in the evening? Dinner. Mm, dinner.
Starting point is 00:53:43 Yeah. And they say supper. I don't feel like supper. It could be an old person thing. I feel like supper for me is a geographical thing because I don't know anybody, any of my friends that lived in the north or far west they called it supper ever.
Starting point is 00:53:57 Arkansas Keith, it was supper. Like dinner was lunch, supper was dinner. Yeah. But to me it was always a southern thing more than it was an age thing. So I think for the most part, you guys are good.
Starting point is 00:54:08 Good. You're just kind of old. A little bit. Yeah, a little bit. The filming gets me there for sure. Which one hit you the hardest? because I might say slacks occasionally if it's that specific khaki-colored pant.
Starting point is 00:54:22 I think it's maybe the pound sign that gets me the most because I get that it's a hashtag but I mean slacks, I mean, I don't really say that that often because I don't really wear them. Also, hashtag is too many syllables. So if it's type in your code, it's at your bank.
Starting point is 00:54:39 It's 999-pound. Right. It's a 99-9-hash. Right. Or 99-n-hash. that's just too many syllables Hash All right some voice
Starting point is 00:54:51 Males, hit that Justice for Lunchbox You know he didn't even get invited on the trip Anyway And Bobby said he would pay for him to go So you know He wants to be at his best for his kids And the best for the show
Starting point is 00:55:03 So he's a gig man You know he has his character Does his job He's good at it Keeps people interested People either love him or hate him So yeah justice for lunchbox I hope he ended up having fun on the trip man
Starting point is 00:55:14 Tony from Iowa out Thanks Tony He doesn't care about best for the show Boom Tony from Iowa Finally got a smart caller Thank you dude You nailed it? Thank you
Starting point is 00:55:24 But I wanted to put him on I don't want Everybody's against him Because Tony is the one person That's not against him Oh that's the one Yeah Tony Tony
Starting point is 00:55:32 Play the next one So I'm calling about the Lunchbox Vegas trip If Lunchbox If Lunchbox wants to come back At a certain time on Sunday
Starting point is 00:55:41 Why doesn't he use that voucher That he got renewed or whatever and use that on his home trip back if he's not wanting to leave that seven have a good one guys uh good question that was credit for my wife and she has used that to purchase her tickets so we will be on two separate planes oh wow good that means it's like president and vice president no the planes goes down your kids sold the we don't think like that we don't play that game it's not a game but that's why they don't fly together but we don't do that right we
Starting point is 00:56:13 We don't talk about planes going down. We do. Me and my wife, we don't. Yeah, but she's not here. Yeah, yeah, but we don't mind booking the same flight because we don't want to put that energy out there. So now you believe in energy? Put energy out there?
Starting point is 00:56:27 Because that's not your thing. No, if I were to say that, you know. You are not an energy person at all. Yeah, just for the record. I know. I'm just trying to like make you realize that I should be on that plane with my wife in the afternoon. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:38 I'm sure she's going to love it. What'd you think about your flight getting paid for? She thought it was really cool She thought it was ridiculous I was going home at 7 a.m. She said that? She thought it was ridiculous. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:48 She goes, that is so ridiculous. That was maybe her exact quote. I feel less appreciated by the day. No, no. She was like, it's exciting. That's cool now. But you said ridiculous. Yes.
Starting point is 00:57:01 But we don't have to tell the neighbors, hey, sorry we can't make it. She can make it. Right. And you're going to skip the, you're going to miss the flight on purpose. I'm going to miss a flight. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:10 I'm going to prove a point. Have you talked to the neighbor? about how you're not working and now you're just there for fun? I did finally tell him that after Bobby nice enough to book my flight, I was like, okay, now I can go to them like, hey, guys, are we ready? And guess what? I don't even have to work. So I didn't have to go like, oh, guys, I didn't get invited.
Starting point is 00:57:27 I didn't have to do the sob story. They promoted you basically. They just want you to come to party. Correct. Like, wow, you have no responsibilities. I was like, none whatsoever. They're like, man, we're about to have us a good time. Ray, if I were to get you a flight like we talked about, where would you stay?
Starting point is 00:57:43 Yeah, it's still kind of been going around in my head. What can I do? Because we do have connections there, but it's too far from the strip. It's kind of old Vegas. Because if you're going to be my assistant. Yeah, that wouldn't work. Yeah. You've got to be nearby, right?
Starting point is 00:57:57 Yeah. Like, if I call, you should, here I am. Have you been able to check? Do you have like a suite or something where there is different rooms in yours? No, I'm not, you're not staying in my room. And no, they don't put me in a suite. It'd make the most sense, honestly. Again, they don't, no, they do put me in a suite, but there's only one room in the suite.
Starting point is 00:58:16 It's not. Morning bones. Is there a pull-out bed? No. Let's say you- I don't know. Ray's not sleeping in my room. You wake up.
Starting point is 00:58:22 Hey, I need water. If I'm paying for Ray to come and he's also sleeping in my room, I lose. Because I don't. It's like college. You just get done finishing up a professional production on TV, and it's a college frat back at the suite. We see how much a flight would be for Ray. What airline? Oh, Frontier.
Starting point is 00:58:41 He will be on the same flight. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Check around. No, no, there's no checking around. You never know. And then we might have, might go to the local library and get on the computer there and see if you can get a cheaper flight. Right, Amy? I mean, I don't think we can't even mess with lunchboxes fight anymore. We're not messing with it.
Starting point is 00:58:59 He's done. But he thinks Ray joining him will be messing with it. Or Ray getting a later flight is going to be messing with him. Yes, that is. That's absolutely, what do you call it, bull crap? That's what you call it. You got a free flight. it doesn't matter what happens around you
Starting point is 00:59:13 No, it does. If you give Ray a later flight home, that's you doing that on purpose, to upset me. No, it's just, no, not on purpose, but it's just what the prices are and what the times are. And I don't even know if Ray can go because he has nowhere to stay. Well, sometimes they have a little deals where you can do the flight and hotel together. You're looking to that, right? Eddie.
Starting point is 00:59:33 What? No. That's true. You know? And also, you never know if I'm getting Bones' fourth meal. I may need to sleep in a little bit. Just so I'm rested. Fourth meal.
Starting point is 00:59:43 That's exactly what I... If he has to get my overnight meal. No, I don't. A fourth meal? That's what I said, right? I mean, it is Vegas. Sleep in. Bobby doesn't do Vegas like...
Starting point is 00:59:54 Bobby doesn't do Vegas. Bobby goes to a city called Las Vegas and... Treats it like every other city. Works. Drinks a lot of water so he doesn't get dehydrated and then flies back home. Why do you drink a lot of water? Because you care about... It's so dry out there and I know I got to work on Monday.
Starting point is 01:00:08 So two things I tried not to do. one, yell a whole lot and two, neglect drinking water. Okay. Do you know why? Because you'll lose your voice. Because I'll lose my voice and then I'll come in and have to go, allergies got me.
Starting point is 01:00:21 Right. Yeah, yeah. That's what I'm worried about. What, allergies? Yep, allergies. Those Vegas allergies are really bad for me. Okay. Well, you just need to take it easy.
Starting point is 01:00:31 There you go, Ray. You're still, uh, frontier. Is Ray good with the 7 a.m. I mean, I'm fine with that. Yeah. What about hotel? Is it a two for one or what? We're just checking on flight right now.
Starting point is 01:00:42 No. What about room service? What's my daily stipend? Oh, yeah. Does he get per diem? No. You get a rental card? No, no. Gambling chips?
Starting point is 01:00:52 No, no. If he gets old, I might get one. Well, no, because Ray being Bobby's assistant is very different than you go. Very much. So if he's going to come work for me, that would be me possibly. I mean, lunchbox, you would not want to go to Vegas and be Bobby's assistant. No, I wouldn't do that. But raised offering to go and be with me the whole time.
Starting point is 01:01:15 Help out, yeah. Yeah, you kind of need a handler. And in the past, I've had one. It's been Abby. Budget cuts. Is it? I don't know. Has it been Abby in Vegas?
Starting point is 01:01:25 Yeah, Abby, it's been you before. Yeah, I used to do that. Oh, 10 years ago. No, it was like three. Yeah. Yeah. You never had a handler? Yeah, I have.
Starting point is 01:01:37 I have. Okay. You have not had a handler. Yeah. I have. Okay. Who? I don't know her name.
Starting point is 01:01:45 Yeah, yeah, she went to another school. She went to another school. Yeah, yeah. Oh, Ray, it's $700. The flight or the hotel? The flight. No, there, Ray. Yeah, we ain't doing that.
Starting point is 01:01:54 It's not looking good. No. Not you at the nice hotel, too? Lunchboxes was 500. The frontier is still the same price. Oh, Southwest's only 700? What do you mean only? Well, it was 1,000 whenever I tried to get it for lunchbox.
Starting point is 01:02:05 Oh, my gosh. Oh, that's perfect. And then Ray can sit with... That's on our flight. He could fly with me and assist me. And then, and Ray can come back with lunchbox's wife. Hey, what?
Starting point is 01:02:16 No, no. Yeah, what time is that brunch, lunch? 10 a.m. You just go to the brunch and everything. This is dirty. What's the front? Thank you, Amy. What's the frontier one?
Starting point is 01:02:31 Mike, the total cost? 400. 400 total. And that's without baggage and seatbelts and stuff. That's slim pickings. Every time you snap your seatbelt back in, 20 bucks. There's no pilot on this one. Like if you want to pee, you have to pay. You got to get up and go to the bathroom. Deposit money. Ray, I just don't know where you're going to stay, man.
Starting point is 01:02:50 Mm-hmm. We see, we see what a room is. No. Isn't there a whole like city under Vegas? Wait, do we know our hotel yet? Mm-mm. I mean, it's good, but my, I don't know. Okay, right, hit me a voicemail 10. Morning studio. This is Shannon from Michigan. I'm calling in regards to my friends, One of them has 54,000 unread emails. The other one has 50,000. And they just have no intention of fixing it because it's too overwhelming. That's a lot of red dots on there.
Starting point is 01:03:22 Feels very amy-ish. Not that she ignores stuff, but once it gets to a point, it then just lives. Oh, let's see. My email red dots currently says 4,831. But those could be from 2017. I mean It's not from yesterday Did you be open to just a clean delete?
Starting point is 01:03:43 No No, no, no no I have emails from my mom I have emails The red dots don't bother her From You should go through though Just one time Go through what?
Starting point is 01:03:56 All of them Oh gosh No Mike what do you see It's 15,000 pages worth of email Anything is there a bundle I don't see a bundle That room?
Starting point is 01:04:07 was 700 bucks by itself? A night? No, no, no, I think the whole... I think it's the whole... 225 a night. Gosh. 225 a night. I don't know if I can handle that.
Starting point is 01:04:16 Yeah, that's getting too expensive. Looks like you're out, Ray. Sorry. I'll look into it a little more, Ray. No, no, no, no. Be close by, too, so it would be worth it. I'm still going to take some looks. What's the date of our festival?
Starting point is 01:04:27 17th, 18th? Okay, so we got a little couple weeks. 18th and 19th, sorry. A little couple weeks there. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Okay. I'll keep looking into that, Ray. No promises, though.
Starting point is 01:04:36 I don't know that right now, I'd say it's only a 3 out of 10 shot. It's all good. And I mean, also, you know, you're texting, calling whenever you need me. Just make sure you call a couple times. I'll be at the casino floor. Okay, see. You can't get a hold of them. This is, we're talking me out of it now.
Starting point is 01:04:50 Bobby Bones show. Story up the day. This story comes us from Hillsborough County, Florida. A 41-year-old woman wanted to go to the 7-Eleven, but man, she lost her license back in July. She's like, here, 11-year-old, you're driving me to 7-11, gave the 11-year-old the keys, drove perfectly to 7-Eleven, pulled into the parking sabot, goes to hit the brake, accidentally hit the gas drove right into the 7-Eleven.
Starting point is 01:05:18 I can't believe an 11-year-old would not know how to drive and park properly. Surprising. Yeah, five years before you're supposed to get a license. Yeah. So what do you do if you're drunk? Do you like the 11-year-old drive or do you drive? What? No, the answer's not go.
Starting point is 01:05:31 Okay, just making sure. That's right. Just making sure. Okay. So the 11-year-old doesn't get in trouble. right? No, no. The 41-year-old gets arrested for child abuse and child endangerment. But luckily, no one was hurt
Starting point is 01:05:42 in the 7-11. Thank goodness. And luckily no one was heard on the drive there with an 11-year-old driving either the people coming across from it or them. Okay. I'm Lunchbox. That's your bonehead story of the day. My favorite comedian now is a guy named
Starting point is 01:05:58 Mark Norman. He's blown up. He's had multiple specials. I played this joke on the air before. Everything kind of changes when you get older. My brother had a kid. That's Everybody wants to play with the baby, touch the baby, hug the baby. I find babies fascinating because babies are the only thing that comes out of another person that strangers want to hold. That's true.
Starting point is 01:06:20 You ever think about that? Anything else comes out of a human being are like, wow, this dinner party is over. So I think he's so funny, he came over and we did a bobbycast together. And so we were just talking about fame because he's getting really famous and how it scares him. We talk about that in his top comedians. Have you felt you becoming Jen Pop Famous? Gen Pop Famous. No, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:06:42 That actually scares me a little. Like I hang out with, I was with Shane Gillis last week, and you know, you just can't go anywhere with the guy. And that's so cool and great for him, but that worries me. I like being a little under the radar. You want to be able to sell tickets. I want to be like a Brian Regan or like a good kind of, what's it, like a Dr. Dog. You know that band?
Starting point is 01:07:03 No. Exactly. But they can play everywhere. They sell out. I know Dog Star. Dogstar is Kianu. That's right, on the base. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:12 But you're starting to cross over, though, to that. I know. You have to feel it a little bit. I do. I get recognized a lot, and it's very nice, and I love the fans, and I appreciate it, but I'm scared of that moment when you're out with my kid at a park, and somebody's like, you suck. And my kids are going to be like, what was that?
Starting point is 01:07:27 You know. How old is your kid? Almost two. How's that going? I'm loving every minute of it. Oh, I just realized I left him in a Waymo. But, no, good. Good kid, cute, and it gets better every month.
Starting point is 01:07:41 Who's your favorite ever? Chris Rock in the 90s is up there for me. That run he had was unbelievable, and that's kind of what got me into comedy and got me in a stand-up. I always loved Seinfeld growing up. I'd watch it with my family, but I had the Seinfeld shout-out, and that was insane. Chris Rock in that 94-2005 was probably my favorite stand-up of all time. But then Louis had chewed up, and Bill Burr came around, and there's Brian Regan, there's Jim Afigan. There's Dave Attell. He's hilarious. So it's harder for me to pick a favorite ever,
Starting point is 01:08:13 but, you know, those are my favorites, probably. Is there a special, though, specifically, that you think of and go, man, that one hit me at the right time and the right way? Yeah, bigger and blacker and bring the pain. But then Norm, I'd probably say Norm is my favorite because no one is as funny as Norm all the time. Norm is funny on podcasts. He's funny on stage. He's funny on a TV show. He's funny in a movie. He's funny in an interview. He's never not funny. If you want to hear the full interview, just search for the Bobbycast on IHeartRadio or wherever you get your podcast or you can watch it on Netflix. But that's Mark Norman. He's my favorite current comedian now.
Starting point is 01:08:54 That's it. Hope you guys have a great weekend. Hope it's amazing. You go and you live your greatest weekend life. All you guys, live your greatest weekend life. Okay. Okay. We'll try.
